1:1 여호수아가 죽은 후에 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 묻자와 가로되 우리 중 누가 먼저 올라가서 가나안 사람과 싸우리이까
1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the Jehovah, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?
1:2 여호와께서 가라사대 유다가 올라갈지니라 보라 내가 이 땅을 그 손에 붙였노라 하시니라
1:2 And the Jehovah said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.
1:3 유다가 그 형제 시므온에게 이르되 나의 제비 뽑아 얻은 땅에 나와 함께 올라가서 가나안 사람과 싸우자 그리하면 나도 너의 제비 뽑아 얻은 땅에 함께 가리라 이에 시므온이 그와 함께 가니라
1:3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into your lot. So Simeon went with him.
1:4 유다가 올라가매 여호와께서 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람을 그들의 손에 붙이신지라 그들이 베섹에서 일만 명을 죽이고
1:4 And Judah went up; and the Jehovah delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
1:5 또 베섹에서 아도니 베섹을 만나서 그와 싸워 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람을 죽이니
1:5 And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
1:6 아도니 베섹이 도망하는지라 그를 쫓아가서 잡아 그 수족의 엄지가락을 끊으매
1:6 But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
1:7 아도니 베섹이 가로되 옛적에 칠십 왕이 그 수족의 엄지가락을 찍히고 내 상 아래서 먹을 것을 줍더니 하나님이 나의 행한 대로 내게 갚으심이로다 하니라 무리가 그를 끌고 예루살렘에 이르렀더니 그가 거기서 죽었더라
1:7 And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
1:8 ○ 유다 자손이 예루살렘을 쳐서 취하여 칼날로 치고 성을 불살랐으며
1:8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
1:9 그 후에 유다 자손이 내려가서 산지와 남방과 평지에 거한 가나안 사람과 싸웠고
1:9 And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.
1:10 유다가 또 가서 헤브론에 거한 가나안 사람을 쳐서 세새와 아히만과 달매를 죽였더라 헤브론의 본 이름은 기럇 아르바이었더라
1:10 And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
1:11 ○ 거기서 나아가서 드빌의 거민들을 쳤으니 드빌의 본 이름은 기럇세벨이라
1:11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher:
1:12 갈렙이 말하기를 기럇세벨을 쳐서 그것을 취하는 자에게는 내 딸 악사를 아내로 주리라 하였더니
1:12 And Caleb said, He that strikes Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
1:13 갈렙의 아우요 그나스의 아들인 옷니엘이 그것을 취한 고로 갈렙이 그 딸 악사를 그에게 아내로 주었더라
1:13 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
1:14 악사가 출가할 때에 그에게 청하여 자기 아비에게 밭을 구하자 하고 나귀에서 내리매 갈렙이 묻되 네가 무엇을 원하느냐
1:14 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What will you?
1:15 가로되 내게 복을 주소서 아버지께서 나를 남방으로 보내시니 샘물도 내게 주소서 하매 갈렙이 윗샘과 아랫샘을 그에게 주었더라
1:15 And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.
1:16 ○ 모세의 장인은 겐 사람이라 그 자손이 유다 자손과 함께 종려나무 성읍에서 올라가서 아랏 남방의 유다 황무지에 이르러 그 백성 중에 거하니라
1:16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lies in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
1:17 유다가 그 형제 시므온과 함께 가서 스밧에 거한 가나안 사람을 쳐서 그 곳을 진멸하였으므로 그 성읍 이름을 호르마라 하니라
1:17 And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.
1:18 유다가 또 가사와 그 경내와 아스글론과 그 경내와 에그론과 그 경내를 취하였고
1:18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.
1:19 여호와께서 유다와 함께 하신 고로 그가 산지 거민을 쫓아내었으나 골짜기의 거민들은 철 병거가 있으므로 그들을 쫓아내지 못하였으며
1:19 And the Jehovah was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
1:20 무리가 모세의 명한 대로 헤브론을 갈렙에게 주었더니 그가 거기서 아낙의 세 아들을 쫓아내었고
1:20 And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.
1:21 베냐민 자손은 예루살렘에 거한 여부스 사람을 쫓아내지 못하였으므로 여부스 사람이 베냐민 자손과 함께 오늘날까지 예루살렘에 거하더라
1:21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.
1:22 ○ 요셉 족속도 벧엘을 치러 올라가니 여호와께서 그와 함께 하시니라
1:22 And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the Jehovah was with them.
1:23 요셉 족속이 벧엘을 정탐케 하였는데 그 성읍의 본 이름은 루스라
1:23 And the house of Joseph sent to search out Bethel. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.)
1:24 탐정이 그 성읍에서 한 사람의 나오는 것을 보고 그에게 이르되 청하노니 이 성읍의 입구를 우리에게 가르치라 그리하면 너를 선대하리라 하매
1:24 And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Show us, we pray you, the entrance into the city, and we will show you mercy.
1:25 그 사람이 성읍의 입구를 가르친지라 이에 칼날로 그 성읍을 쳤으되 오직 그 사람과 그 가족을 놓아 보내매
1:25 And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they stroke the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.
1:26 그 사람이 헷 사람의 땅에 가서 성읍을 건축하고 그 이름을 루스라 하였더니 오늘날까지 그 곳의 이름이더라
1:26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day.
1:27 ○ 므낫세가 벧스안과 그 향리의 거민과 다아낙과 그 향리의 거민과 돌과 그 향리의 거민과 이블르암과 그 향리의 거민과 므깃도와 그 향리의 거민들을 쫓아내지 못하매 가나안 사람이 결심하고 그 땅에 거하였더니
1:27 Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
1:28 이스라엘이 강성한 후에야 가나안 사람에게 사역을 시켰고 다 쫓아내지 아니하였더라
1:28 And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.
1:29 ○ 에브라임이 게셀에 거한 가나안 사람을 쫓아내지 못하매 가나안 사람이 게셀에서 그들 중에 거하였더라
1:29 Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
1:30 ○ 스불론은 기드론 거민과 나할롤 거민을 쫓아내지 못하였으나 가나안 사람이 그들 중에 거하여 사역을 하였더라
1:30 Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.
1:31 ○ 아셀이 악고 거민과 시돈 거민과 알랍과 악십과 헬바와 아빅과 르홉 거민을 쫓아내지 못하고
1:31 Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:
1:32 그 땅 거민 가나안 사람 가운데 거하였으니 이는 쫓아내지 못함이었더라
1:32 But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out.
1:33 ○ 납달리가 벧세메스 거민과 벧아낫 거민을 쫓아내지 못하고 그 땅 거민 가나안 사람 가운데 거하였으나 벧세메스와 벧아낫 거민들이 그들에게 사역을 하였더라
1:33 Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Bethshemesh, nor the inhabitants of Bethanath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Bethshemesh and of Bethanath became tributaries unto them.
1:34 ○ 아모리 사람이 단 자손을 산지로 쫓아들이고 골짜기에 내려오기를 용납지 아니하고
1:34 And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley:
1:35 결심하고 헤레스 산과 아얄론과 사알빔에 거하였더니 요셉 족속이 강성하매 아모리 사람이 필경은 사역을 하였으며
1:35 But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries.
1:36 아모리 사람의 지계는 아그랍빔 비탈의 바위부터 그 위였더라
1:36 And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.
2:1 여호와의 사자가 길갈에서부터 보김에 이르러 가로되 내가 너희로 애굽에서 나오게 하고 인도하여 너희 열조에게 맹세한 땅으로 이끌어 왔으며 또 내가 이르기를 내가 너희에게 세운 언약을 영원히 어기지 아니하리니
2:1 And an angel of the Jehovah came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
2:2 너희는 이 땅 거민과 언약을 세우지 말며 그들의 단을 헐라 하였거늘 너희가 내 목소리를 청종치 아니하였도다 그리함은 어찜이뇨
2:2 And all of you shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; all of you shall throw down their altars: but all of you have not obeyed my voice: why have all of you done this?
2:3 그러므로 내가 또 말하기를 내가 그들을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내지 아니하리니 그들이 너희 옆구리에 가시가 될 것이며 그들의 신들이 너희에게 올무가 되리라 하였노라
2:3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
2:4 여호와의 사자가 이스라엘 모든 자손에게 이 말씀을 이르매 백성이 소리를 높여 운지라
2:4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the Jehovah spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
2:5 그러므로 그 곳을 이름하여 보김이라 하니라 무리가 거기서 여호와께 제사를 드렸더라
2:5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Jehovah.
2:6 ○ 전에 여호수아가 백성을 보내매 이스라엘 자손이 각기 그 기업으로 가서 땅을 차지하였고
2:6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
2:7 백성이 여호수아의 사는 날 동안과 여호수아 뒤에 생존한 장로들 곧 여호와께서 이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 모든 큰 일을 본 자의 사는 날 동안에 여호와를 섬겼더라
2:7 And the people served the Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Jehovah, that he did for Israel.
2:8 여호와의 종 눈의 아들 여호수아가 일백 십 세에 죽으매
2:8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Jehovah, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
2:9 무리가 그의 기업의 경내 에브라임 산지 가아스 산 북 딤낫 헤레스에 장사하였고
2:9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
2:10 그 세대 사람도 다 그 열조에게로 돌아갔고 그 후에 일어난 다른 세대는 여호와를 알지 못하며 여호와께서 이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 일도 알지 못하였더라
2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Jehovah, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
2:11 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 바알들을 섬기며
2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Jehovah, and served Baalim:
2:12 애굽 땅에서 그들을 인도하여 내신 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신 곧 그 사방에 있는 백성의 신들을 좇아 그들에게 절하여 여호와를 진노하시게 하였으되
2:12 And they forsook the Jehovah God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Jehovah to anger.
2:13 곧 그들이 여호와를 버리고 바알과 아스다롯을 섬겼으므로
2:13 And they forsook the Jehovah, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
2:14 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 노략하는 자의 손에 붙여 그들로 노략을 당케하시며 또 사방 모든 대적의 손에 파시매 그들이 다시는 대적을 당치 못하였으며
2:14 And the anger of the Jehovah was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
2:15 그들이 어디를 가든지 여호와의 손이 그들에게 재앙을 내리시매 곧 여호와께서 말씀하신 것과 같고 여호와께서 그들에게 맹세하신 것과 같아서 그들의 괴로움이 심하였더라
2:15 Anywhere they went out, the hand of the Jehovah was against them for evil, as the Jehovah had said, and as the Jehovah had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
2:16 ○ 여호와께서 사사를 세우사 노략하는 자의 손에서 그들을 건져내게 하셨으나
2:16 Nevertheless the Jehovah raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
2:17 그들이 그 사사도 청종치 아니하고 돌이켜 다른 신들을 음란하듯 좇아 그들에게 절하고 여호와의 명령을 순종하던 그 열조의 행한 길을 속히 치우쳐 떠나서 그와 같이 행치 아니하였더라
2:17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Jehovah; but they did not so.
2:18 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 사사를 세우실 때에는 그 사사와 함께 하셨고 그 사사의 사는 날 동안에는 여호와께서 그들을 대적의 손에서 구원하셨으니 이는 그들이 대적에게 압박과 괴롭게 함을 받아 슬피 부르짖으므로 여호와께서 뜻을 돌이키셨음이어늘
2:18 And when the Jehovah raised them up judges, then the Jehovah was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Jehovah because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
2:19 그 사사가 죽은 후에는 그들이 돌이켜 그 열조보다 더욱 패괴하여 다른 신들을 좇아 섬겨 그들에게 절하고 그 행위와 패역한 길을 그치지 아니하였으므로
2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
2:20 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하여 이르시되 이 백성이 내가 그 열조와 세운 언약을 어기고 나의 목소리를 청종치 아니하였은즉
2:20 And the anger of the Jehovah was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
2:21 나도 여호수아가 죽을 때에 남겨 둔 열국을 다시는 그들의 앞에서 하나도 쫓아내지 아니하리니
2:21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
2:22 이는 이스라엘이 그 열조의 지킨 것 같이 나 여호와의 도를 지켜 행하나 아니하나 그들로 시험하려 함이라 하시니라
2:22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Jehovah to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
2:23 그 열국을 머물러두사 속히 쫓아내지 아니하시며 여호수아의 손에 붙이지 아니하셨음이 이를 인함이었더라
2:23 Therefore the Jehovah left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
3:1 여호와께서 가나안 전쟁을 알지 못한 이스라엘을 시험하려 하시며
3:1 Now these are the nations which the Jehovah left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;
3:2 이스라엘 자손의 세대 중에 아직 전쟁을 알지 못하는 자에게 그것을 가르쳐 알게 하려 하사 남겨 두신 열국은
3:2 Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;
3:3 블레셋 다섯 방백과 가나안 모든 사람과 시돈 사람과 바알 헤르몬 산에서부터 하맛 어구까지 레바논 산에 거하는 히위 사람이라
3:3 Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.
3:4 남겨 두신 이 열국으로 이스라엘을 시험하사 여호와께서 모세로 그들의 열조에게 명하신 명령들을 청종하나 알고자 하셨더라
3:4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the Jehovah, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
3:5 이스라엘 자손은 마침내 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여브스 사람 사이에 거하여
3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:
3:6 그들의 딸들을 취하여 아내를 삼으며 자기 딸들을 그들의 아들에게 주며 또 그들의 신들을 섬겼더라
3:6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.
3:7 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와 목전에 악을 행하여 자기들의 하나님 여호와를 잊어버리고 바알들과 아세라들을 섬긴지라
3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Jehovah, and forgotten about the Jehovah their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
3:8 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 그들을 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임의 손에 파셨으므로 이스라엘 자손이 구산 리사다임을 팔 년을 섬겼더니
3:8 Therefore the anger of the Jehovah was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.
3:9 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를 세워 구원하게 하시니 그는 곧 갈렙의 아우 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이라
3:9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah, the Jehovah raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
3:10 여호와의 신이 그에게 임하셨으므로 그가 이스라엘 사사가 되어 나가서 싸울 때에 여호와께서 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임을 그 손에 붙이시매 옷니엘의 손이 구산 리사다임을 이기니라
3:10 And the Spirit of the Jehovah came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Jehovah delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.
3:11 그 땅이 태평한 지 사십 년에 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이 죽었더라
3:11 And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
3:12 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하니라 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하므로 여호와께서 모압 왕 에글론을 강성케 하사 그들을 대적하게 하시매
3:12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Jehovah: and the Jehovah strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Jehovah.
3:13 에글론이 암몬과 아말렉 자손들을 모아가지고 와서 이스라엘을 쳐서 종려나무 성읍을 점령한지라
3:13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and stroke Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.
3:14 이에 이스라엘 자손이 모압 왕 에글론을 십 팔 년을 섬기니라
3:14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
3:15 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를 세우셨으니 그는 곧 베냐민 사람 게라의 아들 왼손잡이 에훗이라 이스라엘 자손이 그를 의탁하여 모압 왕 에글론에게 공물을 바칠 때에
3:15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah, the Jehovah raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.
3:16 에훗이 장이 한 규빗 되는 좌우에 날선 칼을 만들어 우편 다리 옷 속에 차고
3:16 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.
3:17 공물을 모압 왕 에글론에게 바쳤는데 에글론은 심히 비둔한 자이었더라
3:17 And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.
3:18 에훗이 공물 바치기를 마친 후에 공물을 메고 온 자들을 보내고
3:18 And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.
3:19 자기는 길갈 근처 돌 뜨는 곳에서부터 돌아와서 가로되 왕이여 내가 은밀한 일을 왕에게 고하려 하나이다 왕이 명하여 종용케 하라 하매 모셔 선 자들이 다 물러간지라
3:19 But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto you, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.
3:20 에훗이 왕의 앞으로 나아가니 왕은 서늘한 다락방에 홀로 앉아 있는 중이라 에훗이 가로되 내가 하나님의 명을 받들어 왕에게 고할 일이 있나이다 하매 왕이 그 좌석에서 일어나니
3:20 And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto you. And he arose out of his seat.
3:21 에훗이 왼손으로 우편 다리에서 칼을 빼어 왕의 몸을 찌르매
3:21 And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:
3:22 칼자루도 날을 따라 들어가서 그 끝이 등 뒤까지 나갔고 그가 칼을 그 몸에서 빼어내지 아니하였으므로 기름이 칼날에 엉기었더라
3:22 And the handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.
3:23 에훗이 현관에 나와서 다락문들을 닫아 잠그니라
3:23 Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.
3:24 ○ 에훗이 나간 후에 왕의 신하들이 와서 다락문이 잠겼음을 보고 가로되 왕이 필연 다락방에서 발을 가리우신다 하고
3:24 When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covers his feet in his summer chamber.
3:25 그들이 오래 기다려도 왕이 다락문을 열지 아니하는지라 열쇠를 취하여 열고 본즉 자기 주가 이미 죽어 땅에 엎드러졌더라
3:25 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.
3:26 ○ 그들의 기다리는 동안에 에훗이 피하여 돌 뜨는 곳을 지나 스이라로 도망하니라
3:26 And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.
3:27 그가 이르러서는 에브라임 산지에서 나팔을 불매 이스라엘 자손이 산지에서 그를 따라 내려오니 에훗이 앞서 가며
3:27 And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.
3:28 무리에게 이르되 나를 따르라 여호와께서 너희 대적 모압 사람을 너희의 손에 붙이셨느니라 하매 무리가 에훗을 따라 내려가서 모압 맞은편 요단 강 나루를 잡아 지켜 한 사람도 건너지 못하게 하였고
3:28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the Jehovah has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.
3:29 그 때에 모압 사람 일만 명 가량을 죽였으니 다 역사요 용사라 한 사람도 피하지 못하였더라
3:29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.
3:30 그 날에 모압 사람이 이스라엘의 수하에 항복하매 그 땅이 팔십 년 동안 태평하였더라
3:30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.
3:31 ○ 에훗의 후에 아낫의 아들 삼갈이 사사로 있어 소 모는 막대기로 블레셋 사람 육백 명을 죽였고 그도 이스라엘을 구원하였더라
3:31 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
4:1 에훗의 죽은 후에 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하매
4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Jehovah, when Ehud was dead.
4:2 여호와께서 하솔에 도읍한 가나안 왕 야빈의 손에 그들을 파셨는데 그 군대 장관은 이방 하로셋에 거하는 시스라요
4:2 And the Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
4:3 야빈 왕은 철 병거 구백 승이 있어서 이십 년 동안 이스라엘 자손을 심히 학대한 고로 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖었더라
4:3 And the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4:4 ○ 그 때에 랍비돗의 아내 여선지 드보라가 이스라엘의 사사가 되었는데
4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
4:5 그는 에브라임 산지 라마와 벧엘 사이 드보라의 종려나무 아래 거하였고 이스라엘 자손은 그에게 나아가 재판을 받더라
4:5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
4:6 드보라가 보내어 아비노암의 아들 바락을 납달리 게데스에서 불러다가 그에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 명하지 아니하셨느냐 이르시기를 너는 납달리 자손과 스불론 자손 일만 명을 거느리고 다볼 산으로 가라
4:6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Has not the Jehovah God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
4:7 내가 야빈의 군대 장관 시스라와 그 병거들과 그 무리를 기손 강으로 이끌어 네게 이르게 하고 그를 네 손에 붙이리라 하셨느니라
4:7 And I will draw unto you to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into yours hand.
4:8 바락이 그에게 이르되 당신이 나와 함께 가면 내가 가려니와 당신이 나와 함께 가지 아니하면 나는 가지 않겠노라
4:8 And Barak said unto her, If you will go with me, then I will go: but if you will not go with me, then I will not go.
4:9 가로되 내가 반드시 너와 함께 가리라 그러나 네가 이제 가는 일로는 영광을 얻지 못하리니 이는 여호와께서 시스라를 여인의 손에 파실 것임이니라 하고 드보라가 일어나 바락과 함께 게데스로 가니라
4:9 And she said, I will surely go with you: notwithstanding the journey that you take shall not be for yours honour; for the Jehovah shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
4:10 바락이 스불론과 납달리를 게데스로 부르니 일만 인이 그를 따라 올라가고 드보라도 그와 함께 올라가니라
4:10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
4:11 ○ 모세의 장인 호밥의 자손 중 겐 사람 헤벨이 자기 족속을 떠나 게데스에 가까운 사아난님 상수리나무 곁에 이르러 장막을 쳤더라
4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
4:12 ○ 아비노암의 아들 바락이 다볼 산에 오른 것을 혹이 시스라에게 고하매
4:12 And they showed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
4:13 시스라가 모든 병거 곧 철 병거 구백 승과 자기와 함께 있는 온 군사를 이방 하로셋에서부터 기손 강으로 모은지라
4:13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
4:14 드보라가 바락에게 이르되 일어나라 이는 여호와께서 시스라를 네 손에 붙이신 날이라 여호와께서 너의 앞서 행하지 아니하시느냐 이에 바락이 일만 명을 거느리고 다볼 산에서 내려가니
4:14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Jehovah has delivered Sisera into yours hand: is not the Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
4:15 여호와께서 바락의 앞에서 시스라와 그 모든 병거와 그 온 군대를 칼날로 쳐서 패하게 하시매 시스라가 병거에서 내려 도보로 도망한지라
4:15 And the Jehovah humiliated Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
4:16 바락이 그 병거들과 군대를 추격하여 이방 하로셋에 이르니 시스라의 온 군대가 다 칼에 엎드러졌고 남은 자가 없었더라
4:16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
4:17 ○ 시스라가 도보로 도망하여 겐 사람 헤벨의 아내 야엘의 장막에 이르렀으니 하솔 왕 야빈은 겐 사람 헤벨의 집과 화평이 있음이라
4:17 Nevertheless Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
4:18 야엘이 나가 시스라를 영접하며 그에게 말하되 나의 주여 들어오소서 내게로 들어오시고 두려워하지 마소서 하매 그 장막에 들어가니 야엘이 이불로 덮으니라
4:18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
4:19 시스라가 그에게 말하되 청하노니 내게 물을 조금 마시우라 내가 목이 마르도다 하매 젖 부대를 열어 그에게 마시우고 그를 덮으니
4:19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray you, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
4:20 그가 또 가로되 장막 문에 섰다가 만일 사람이 와서 네게 묻기를 여기 어떤 사람이 있느냐 하거든 너는 없다 하라 하고
4:20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man does come and enquire of you, and say, Is there any man here? that you shall say, No.
4:21 그가 곤비하여 깊이 잠든지라 헤벨의 아내 야엘이 장막 말뚝을 취하고 손에 방망이를 들고 그에게로 가만히 가서 말뚝을 그 살쩍에 박으매 말뚝이 꿰뚫고 땅에 박히니 시스라가 기절하여 죽으니라
4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and stroke the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
4:22 바락이 시스라를 따를 때에 야엘이 나가서 그를 맞아 가로되 오라 내가 너의 찾는 사람을 네게 보이리라 바락이 그에게 들어가 보니 시스라가 죽어 누웠고 말뚝은 그 살쩍에 박혔더라
4:22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
4:23 ○ 이와 같이 이 날에 하나님이 가나안 왕 야빈을 이스라엘 자손 앞에 패하게 하신지라
4:23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
4:24 이스라엘 자손의 손이 가나안 왕 야빈을 점점 더 이기어서 마침내 가나안 왕 야빈을 진멸하였더라
4:24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
5:1 이 날에 드보라와 아비노암의 아들 바락이 노래하여 가로되
5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
5:2 이스라엘의 두령이 그를 영솔하였고 백성이 즐거이 헌신하였으니 여호와를 찬양하라
5:2 Praise all of you the Jehovah for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
5:3 너희 왕들아 들으라 방백들아 귀를 기울이라 나 곧 내가 여호와를 노래할 것이요 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다
5:3 Hear, O all of you kings; give ear, O all of you princes; I, even I, will sing unto the Jehovah; I will sing praise to the Jehovah God of Israel.
5:4 여호와여 주께서 세일에서부터 나오시고 에돔 들에서부터 진행하실 때에 땅이 진동하고 하늘도 새어서 구름이 물을 내렸나이다
5:4 Jehovah, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
5:5 산들이 여호와 앞에서 진동하니 저 시내 산도 이스라엘 하나님 여호와 앞에서 진동하였도다
5:5 The mountains melted from before the Jehovah, even that Sinai from before the Jehovah God of Israel.
5:6 아낫의 아들 삼갈의 날에 또는 야엘의 날에는 대로가 비었고 행인들은 소로로 다녔도다
5:6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
5:7 이스라엘에 관원이 그치고 그쳤더니 나 드보라가 일어났고 내가 일어나서 이스라엘의 어미가 되었도다
5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
5:8 무리가 새 신들을 택하였으므로 그 때에 전쟁이 성문에 미쳤으나 이스라엘 사만 명 중에 방패와 창이 보였던고
5:8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
5:9 내 마음이 이스라엘의 방백을 사모함은 그들이 백성 중에서 즐거이 헌신하였음이라 여호와를 찬양하라
5:9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless all of you the Jehovah.
5:10 흰 나귀를 탄 자들, 귀한 화문석에 앉은 자들, 길에 행하는 자들아 선파할지어다
5:10 Speak, all of you that ride on white asses, all of you that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
5:11 활 쏘는 자의 지꺼림에서 멀리 떨어진 물 긷는 곳에서도 여호와의 의로우신 일을 칭술하라 그의 이스라엘을 다스리시는 의로우신 일을 칭술하라 그 때에 여호와의 백성이 성문에 내려갔도다
5:11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the Jehovah, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the Jehovah go down to the gates.
5:12 깰지어다 깰지어다 드보라여 깰지어다 깰지어다 너는 노래할지어다 일어날지어다 바락이여 아비노암의 아들이여 네 사로잡은 자를 끌고 갈지어다
5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead your captivity captive, you son of Abinoam.
5:13 그 때에 남은 귀인과 백성이 내려왔고 여호와께서 나를 위하여 용사를 치시려고 강림하셨도다
5:13 Then he made him that remains have dominion over the nobles among the people: the Jehovah made me have dominion over the mighty.
5:14 에브라임에게서 나온 자는 아말렉에 뿌리 박힌 자요 그 다음에 베냐민은 너희 백성 중에 섞였으며 마길에게서는 다스리는 자들이 내려왔고 스불론에게서는 대장군의 지팡이를 잡은 자가 내려왔도다
5:14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after you, Benjamin, among your people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
5:15 잇사갈의 방백들이 드보라와 함께 하니 잇사갈의 심사를 바락도 가졌도다 그 발을 좇아 골짜기로 달려 내려가니 르우벤 시냇가에 큰 결심이 있었도다
5:15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
5:16 네가 양의 우리 가운데 앉아서 목자의 저 부는 소리를 들음은 어찜이뇨 르우벤 시냇가에서 마음에 크게 살핌이 있도다
5:16 Why abode you among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
5:17 길르앗은 요단 저편에 거하거늘 단은 배에 머무름은 어찜이뇨 아셀은 해빈에 앉고 자기 시냇가에 거하도다
5:17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
5:18 스불론은 죽음을 무릅쓰고 생명을 아끼지 아니한 백성이요 납달리도 들의 높은 곳에서 그러하도다
5:18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeopardized their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.
5:19 열왕이 와서 싸울 때에 가나안 열왕이 므깃도 물 가 다아낙에서 싸웠으나 돈을 탈취하지 못하였도다
5:19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
5:20 별들이 하늘에서부터 싸우되 그 다니는 길에서 시스라와 싸웠도다
5:20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
5:21 기손 강은 그 무리를 표류시켰으니 이 기손 강은 옛 강이라 내 영혼아 네가 힘 있는 자를 밟았도다
5:21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, you have trodden down strength.
5:22 그 때에 군마가 빨리 달리니 말굽 소리는 땅을 울리도다
5:22 Then were the horse-hoofs broken by the means of the prancings, the prancings of their mighty ones.
5:23 여호와의 사자의 말씀에 메로스를 저주하라 너희가 거듭 거듭 그 거민을 저주할 것은 그들이 와서 여호와를 돕지 아니하며 여호와를 도와 용사를 치지 아니함이니라 하시도다
5:23 Curse all of you Meroz, said the angel of the Jehovah, curse all of you bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the Jehovah, to the help of the Jehovah against the mighty.
5:24 겐 사람 헤벨의 아내 야엘은 다른 여인보다 복을 받을 것이니 장막에 거한 여인보다 더욱 복을 받을 것이로다
5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
5:25 시스라가 물을 구하매 우유를 주되 곧 엉긴 젖을 귀한 그릇에 담아 주었고
5:25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
5:26 손으로 장막 말뚝을 잡으며 오른손에 장인의 방망이를 들고 그 방망이로 시스라를 쳐서 머리를 뚫되 곧 살쩍을 꿰뚫었도다
5:26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she stroke Sisera, she stroke off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
5:27 그가 그의 발 앞에 꾸부러지며 엎드러지고 쓰러졌고 그의 발 앞에 꾸부러져 엎드러져서 그 꾸부러진 곳에 엎드러져 죽었도다
5:27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
5:28 시스라의 어미가 창문으로 바라보며 살창에서 부르짖기를 그의 병거가 어찌하여 더디 오는고 그의 병거 바퀴가 어찌하여 더디 구는고 하매
5:28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
5:29 그 지혜로운 시녀들이 대답하였겠고 그도 스스로 대답하기를
5:29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
5:30 그들이 어찌 노략물을 얻지 못하였으랴 그것을 나누지 못하였으랴 사람마다 한두 처녀를 얻었으리로다 시스라는 채색 옷을 노략하였으리니 그것은 수 놓은 채색 옷이리로다 곧 양편에 수 놓은 채색 옷이리니 노략한 자의 목에 꾸미리로다 하였으리라
5:30 Have they not succeeded? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
5:31 여호와여 주의 대적은 다 이와 같이 망하게 하시고 주를 사랑하는 자는 해가 힘 있게 돋음 같게 하시옵소서 하니라 그 땅이 사십 년 동안 태평하였더라
5:31 So let all yours enemies perish, O Jehovah: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
6:1 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하였으므로 여호와께서 칠 년 동안 그들을 미디안의 손에 붙이시니
6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Jehovah: and the Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
6:2 미디안의 손이 이스라엘을 이긴지라 이스라엘 자손이 미디안을 인하여 산에서 구멍과 굴과 산성을 자기를 위하여 만들었으며
6:2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.
6:3 이스라엘이 파종한 때면 미디안 사람, 아말렉 사람, 동방 사람이 치러 올라와서
6:3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
6:4 진을 치고 가사에 이르도록 토지 소산을 멸하여 이스라엘 가운데 식물을 남겨 두지 아니하며 양이나 소나 나귀도 남기지 아니하니
6:4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till you come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.
6:5 이는 그들이 그 짐승과 장막을 가지고 올라와서 메뚜기떼 같이 들어오니 그 사람과 약대가 무수함이라 그들이 그 땅에 들어와 멸하려 하니
6:5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.
6:6 이스라엘이 미디안을 인하여 미약함이 심한지라 이에 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖었더라
6:6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah.
6:7 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 미디안을 인하여 여호와께 부르짖은 고로
6:7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah because of the Midianites,
6:8 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손에게 한 선지자를 보내사 그들에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀에 내가 너희를 애굽에서 인도하여 내며 너희를 그 종 되었던 집에서 나오게 하여
6:8 That the Jehovah sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus says the Jehovah God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
6:9 애굽 사람의 손과 너희를 학대하는 모든 자의 손에서 너희를 건져내고 그들을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내고 그 땅을 너희에게 주었으며
6:9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land;
6:10 내가 또 너희에게 이르기를 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니 너희의 거하는 아모리 사람의 땅의 신들을 두려워 말라 하였으나 너희가 내 목소리를 청종치 아니하였느니라 하셨다 하니라
6:10 And I said unto you, I am the Jehovah your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land all of you dwell: but all of you have not obeyed my voice.
6:11 ○ 여호와의 사자가 아비에셀 사람 요아스에게 속한 오브라에 이르러 상수리나무 아래 앉으니라 마침 요아스의 아들 기드온이 미디안 사람에게 알리지 아니하려 하여 밀을 포도주 틀에서 타작하더니
6:11 And there came an angel of the Jehovah, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
6:12 여호와의 사자가 기드온에게 나타나 이르되 큰 용사여 여호와께서 너와 함께 계시도다
6:12 And the angel of the Jehovah appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Jehovah is with you, you mighty man of valour.
6:13 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 나의 주여 여호와께서 우리와 함께 계시면 어찌하여 이 모든 일이 우리에게 미쳤나이까 또 우리 열조가 일찍 우리에게 이르기를 여호와께서 우리를 애굽에서 나오게 하신 것이 아니냐 한 그 모든 이적이 어디 있나이까 이제 여호와께서 우리를 버리사 미디안의 손에 붙이셨나이다
6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Jehovah be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Jehovah bring us up from Egypt? but now the Jehovah has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
6:14 여호와께서 그를 돌아보아 가라사대 너는 이 네 힘을 의지하고 가서 이스라엘을 미디안의 손에서 구원하라 내가 너를 보낸 것이 아니냐
6:14 And the Jehovah looked upon him, and said, Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent you?
6:15 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 주여 내가 무엇으로 이스라엘을 구원하리이까 보소서 나의 집은 므낫세 중에 극히 약하고 나는 내 아비 집에서 제일 작은 자니이다
6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
6:16 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 내가 반드시 너와 함께 하리니 네가 미디안 사람 치기를 한 사람을 치듯 하리라
6:16 And the Jehovah said unto him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.
6:17 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 내가 주께 은혜를 얻었사오면 나와 말씀하신 이가 주 되시는 표징을 내게 보이소서
6:17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in your sight, then show me a sign that you talk with me.
6:18 내가 예물을 가지고 다시 주께로 와서 그것을 주 앞에 드리기까지 이곳을 떠나지 마시기를 원하나이다 그가 가로되 내가 너 돌아오기를 기다리리라
6:18 Depart not behind, I pray you, until I come unto you, and bring forth my present, and set it before you. And he said, I will tarry until you come again.
6:19 ○ 기드온이 가서 염소 새끼 하나를 준비하고 가루 한 에바로 무교전병을 만들고 고기를 소쿠리에 담고 국을 양푼에 담아서 상수리나무 아래 그에게로 가져다가 드리매
6:19 And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.
6:20 하나님의 사자가 그에게 이르되 고기와 무교전병을 가져 이 반석 위에 두고 그 위에 국을 쏟으라 기드온이 그대로 하니
6:20 And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
6:21 여호와의 사자가 손에 잡은 지팡이 끝을 내밀어 고기와 무교전병에 대매 불이 반석에서 나와 고기와 무교전병을 살랐고 여호와의 사자는 떠나서 보이지 아니한지라
6:21 Then the angel of the Jehovah put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the Jehovah departed out of his sight.
6:22 기드온이 그가 여호와의 사자인 줄 알고 가로되 슬프도소이다 주 여호와여 내가 여호와의 사자를 대면하여 보았나이다
6:22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the Jehovah, Gideon said, Alas, O Jehovah God! for because I have seen an angel of the Jehovah face to face.
6:23 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 너는 안심하라 두려워 말라 죽지 아니하리라 하시니라
6:23 And the Jehovah said unto him, Peace be unto you; fear not: you shall not die.
6:24 기드온이 여호와를 위하여 거기서 단을 쌓고 이름을 여호와살롬이라 하였더라 그것이 오늘까지 아비에셀 사람에게 속한 오브라에 있더라
6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Jehovah, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
6:25 ○ 이날 밤에 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 네 아비의 수소 곧 칠 년 된 둘째 수소를 취하고 네 아비에게 있는 바알의 단을 헐며 단 곁의 아세라 상을 찍고
6:25 And it came to pass the same night, that the Jehovah said unto him, Take your father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the grove that is by it:
6:26 또 이 견고한 성 위에 네 하나님 여호와를 위하여 규례대로 한 단을 쌓고 그 둘째 수소를 취하여 네가 찍은 아세라 나무로 번제를 드릴지니라
6:26 And build an altar unto the Jehovah your God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which you shall cut down.
6:27 이에 기드온이 종 열을 데리고 여호와의 말씀하신 대로 행하되 아비의 가족과 그 성읍 사람들을 두려워하므로 이 일을 감히 백주에 행하지 못하고 밤에 행하니라
6:27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the Jehovah had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.
6:28 ○ 성읍 사람들이 아침에 일찌기 일어나 본즉 바알의 단이 훼파되었으며 단 곁의 아세라가 찍혔고 새로 쌓은 단 위에 그 둘째 수소를 드렸는지라
6:28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.
6:29 서로 물어 가로되 이것이 누구의 소위인고 하고 그들이 캐어 물은 후에 가로되 요아스의 아들 기드온이 이를 행하였도다 하고
6:29 And they said one to another, Who has done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.
6:30 성읍 사람들이 요아스에게 이르되 네 아들을 끌어내라 그는 당연히 죽을지니 이는 바알의 단을 훼파하고 단 곁의 아세라를 찍었음이니라
6:30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out your son, that he may die: because he has cast down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the grove that was by it.
6:31 요아스가 자기를 둘러선 모든 자에게 이르되 너희가 바알을 위하여 쟁론 하느냐 너희가 바알을 구원하겠느냐 그를 위하여 쟁론하는 자는 이 아침에 죽음을 당하리라 바알이 과연 신일진대 그 단을 훼파하였은즉 스스로 쟁론할 것이니라 하니라
6:31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will all of you plead for Baal? will all of you save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one has cast down his altar.
6:32 그 날에 기드온을 여룹바알이라 하였으니 이는 그가 바알의 단을 훼파하였은즉 바알이 더불어 쟁론할 것이라 함이었더라
6:32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he has thrown down his altar.
6:33 ○ 때에 미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 동방 사람들이 다 모여 요단을 건너와서 이스르엘 골짜기에 진을 친지라
6:33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
6:34 여호와의 신이 기드온에게 강림하시니 기드온이 나팔을 불매 아비에셀 족속이 다 모여서 그를 좇고
6:34 But the Spirit of the Jehovah came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.
6:35 기드온이 또 사자를 온 므낫세에 두루 보내매 그들도 모여서 그를 좇고 또 사자를 아셀과 스불론과 납달리에 보내매 그 무리도 올라와서 그를 영접하더라
6:35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.
6:36 ○ 기드온이 하나님께 여짜오되 주께서 이미 말씀하심 같이 내 손으로 이스라엘을 구원하려 하시거든
6:36 And Gideon said unto God, If you will save Israel by mine hand, as you have said,
6:37 보소서 내가 양털 한 뭉치를 타작 마당에 두리니 이슬이 양털에만 있고 사면 땅은 마르면 주께서 이미 말씀하심 같이 내 손으로 이스라엘을 구원하실 줄 내가 알겠나이다 하였더니
6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that you will save Israel by mine hand, as you have said.
6:38 그대로 된지라 이튿날 기드온이 일찌기 일어나서 양털을 취하여 이슬을 짜니 물이 그릇에 가득하더라
6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the next day, and thrust the fleece together, and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
6:39 기드온이 또 하나님께 여짜오되 주여 내게 진노하지 마옵소서 내가 이번만 말하리이다 구하옵나니 나로 다시 한 번 양털로 시험하게 하소서 양털만 마르고 사면 땅에는 다 이슬이 있게 하옵소서 하였더니
6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not yours anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray you, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
6:40 이 밤에 하나님이 그대로 행하시니 곧 양털만 마르고 사면 땅에는 다 이슬이 있었더라
6:40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
7:1 여룹바알이라 하는 기드온과 그를 좇은 모든 백성이 일찌기 일어나서 하롯샘 곁에 진 쳤고 미디안의 진은 그들의 북편이요 모레 산 앞 골짜기에 있었더라
7:1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
7:2 ○ 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 너를 좇은 백성이 너무 많은즉 내가 그들의 손에 미디안 사람을 붙이지 아니하리니 이는 이스라엘이 나를 거스려 자긍하기를 내 손이 나를 구원하였다 할까 함이니라
7:2 And the Jehovah said unto Gideon, The people that are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand has saved me.
7:3 이제 너는 백성의 귀에 고하여 이르기를 누구든지 두려워서 떠는 자여든 길르앗 산에서 떠나 돌아가라 하라 하시니 이에 돌아간 백성이 이만 이천 명이요 남은 자가 일만 명이었더라
7:3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
7:4 여호와께서 또 기드온에게 이르시되 백성이 아직도 많으니 그들을 인도하여 물 가로 내려가라 거기서 내가 너를 위하여 그들을 시험하리라 무릇 내가 누구를 가리켜 이르기를 이가 너와 함께 가리라 하면 그는 너와 함께 갈 것이요 내가 누구를 가리켜 이르기를 이는 너와 함께 가지 말 것이니라 하면 그는 가지 말 것이니라 하신지라
7:4 And the Jehovah said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whomsoever I say unto you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go.
7:5 이에 백성을 인도하여 물 가에 내려가매 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 무릇 개의 핥는 것 같이 그 혀로 물을 핥는 자는 너는 따로 세우고 또 무릇 무릎을 꿇고 마시는 자도 그 같이 하라 하시더니
7:5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Jehovah said unto Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him shall you set by himself; likewise every one that bows down upon his knees to drink.
7:6 손으로 움켜 입에 대고 핥는 자의 수는 삼백 명이요 그 외의 백성은 다 무릎을 꿇고 물을 마신지라
7:6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.
7:7 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 내가 이 물을 핥아 먹은 삼백 명으로 너희를 구원하며 미디안 사람을 네 손에 붙이리니 남은 백성은 각각 그 처소로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니
7:7 And the Jehovah said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into yours hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.
7:8 이에 백성이 양식과 나팔을 손에 든지라 기드온이 이스라엘의 모든 사람을 각각 그 장막으로 돌려보내고 그 삼백 명은 머물러 두니라 미디안 진은 그 아래 골짜기 가운데 있었더라
7:8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
7:9 ○ 이 밤에 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 일어나 내려가서 적진을 치라 내가 그것을 네 손에 붙였느니라
7:9 And it came to pass the same night, that the Jehovah said unto him, Arise, get you down unto the host; for I have delivered it into yours hand.
7:10 만일 네가 내려가기를 두려워하거든 네 부하 부라를 데리고 그 진으로 내려가서
7:10 But if you fear to go down, go you with Phurah your servant down to the host:
7:11 그들의 하는 말을 들으라 그 후에 네 손이 강하여져서 능히 내려가서 그 진을 치리라 기드온이 이에 그 부하 부라를 데리고 군대가 있는 진 가에 내려간즉
7:11 And you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall yours hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.
7:12 미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 동방의 모든 사람이 골짜기에 누웠는데 메뚜기의 중다함 같고 그 약대의 무수함이 해변의 모래가 수다함 같은지라
7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.
7:13 기드온이 그 곳에 이른즉 어떤 사람이 그 동무에게 꿈을 말하여 이르기를 내가 한 꿈을 꾸었는데 꿈에 보리떡 한 덩어리가 미디안 진으로 굴러 들어와서 한 장막에 이르러 그것을 쳐서 무너뜨려 엎드러뜨리니 곧 쓰러지더라
7:13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and stroke it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
7:14 그 동무가 대답하여 가로되 이는 다른 것이 아니라 이스라엘 사람 요아스의 아들 기드온의 칼날이라 하나님이 미디안과 그 모든 군대를 그의 손에 붙이셨느니라 하더라
7:14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host.
7:15 ○ 기드온이 그 꿈과 해몽하는 말을 듣고 경배하고 이스라엘 진 중에 돌아와서 이르되 일어나라 여호와께서 미디안 군대를 너희 손에 붙이셨느니라 하고
7:15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the Jehovah has delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
7:16 삼백 명을 세 대로 나누고 각 손에 나팔과 빈 항아리를 들리고 항아리 안에는 횃불을 감추게 하고
7:16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
7:17 그들에게 이르되 너희는 나만 보고 나의 하는 대로 하되 내가 그 진 가에 이르러서 하는 대로 너희도 그리하여
7:17 And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall all of you do.
7:18 나와 나를 좇는 자가 다 나팔을 불거든 너희도 그 진 사면에서 또한 나팔을 불며 이르기를 여호와를 위하라 기드온을 위하라 하라 하니라
7:18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow all of you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the Jehovah, and of Gideon.
7:19 ○ 기드온과 그들을 좇은 일백 명이 이경 초에 진 가에 이른즉 번병의 체번할 때라 나팔을 불며 손에 가졌던 항아리를 부수니라
7:19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
7:20 세 대가 나팔을 불며 항아리를 부수고 좌수에 횃불을 들고 우수에 나팔을 들어 불며 외쳐 가로되 여호와와 기드온의 칼이여 하고
7:20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow likewise: and they cried, The sword of the Jehovah, and of Gideon.
7:21 각기 당처에 서서 그 진을 사면으로 에워싸매 그 온 적군이 달음질하고 부르짖으며 도망하였는데
7:21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
7:22 삼백 명이 나팔을 불 때에 여호와께서 그 온 적군으로 동무끼리 칼날로 치게 하시므로 적군이 도망하여 스레라의 벧싯다에 이르고 또 답밧에 가까운 아벨므홀라의 경계에 이르렀으며
7:22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Jehovah set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.
7:23 이스라엘 사람들은 납달리와 아셀과 므낫세에서부터 모여서 미디안 사람을 쫓았더라
7:23 And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.
7:24 ○ 기드온이 사자를 보내어 에브라임 온 산지로 두루 행하게 하여 이르기를 내려와서 미디안 사람을 치고 그들을 앞질러 벧바라와 요단에 이르기까지 나루턱을 취하라 하매 이에 에브라임 사람들이 다 모여서 벧바라와 요단에 이르기까지 그 나루턱을 취하고
7:24 And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.
7:25 또 미디안 두 방백 오렙과 스엡을 사로잡아 오렙은 오렙 바위에서 죽이고 스엡은 스엡 포도주 틀에서 죽이고 미디안 사람을 추격하고 오렙과 스엡의 머리를 가지고 요단 저편에서 기드온에게로 나아오니라
7:25 And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.
8:1 에브라임 사람들이 기드온에게 이르되 네가 미디안과 싸우러 갈 때에 우리를 부르지 아니하였으니 우리를 이같이 대접함은 어찜이뇨 하고 크게 다투는지라
8:1 And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why have you served us thus, that you called us not, when you went to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.
8:2 기드온이 그들에게 이르되 나의 이제 행한 일이 너희의 한 것에 비교되겠느냐 에브라임의 끝물 포도가 아비에셀의 맏물 포도보다 낫지 아니하냐
8:2 And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?
8:3 하나님이 미디안 방백 오렙과 스엡을 너희 손에 붙이셨으니 나의 한 일이 어찌 능히 너희의 한 것에 비교되겠느냐 기드온이 이 말을 하매 그들의 노가 풀리니라
8:3 God has delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was decreased toward him, when he had said that.
8:4 ○ 기드온과 그 좇은 자 삼백 명이 요단에 이르러 건너고 비록 피곤하나 따르며
8:4 And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
8:5 그가 숙곳 사람들에게 이르되 나의 종자가 피곤하여 하니 청컨대 그들에게 떡덩이를 주라 나는 미디안 두 왕 세바와 살문나를 따르노라
8:5 And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.
8:6 숙곳 방백들이 가로되 세바와 살문나의 손이 지금 어찌 네 손에 있관대 우리가 네 군대에게 떡을 주겠느냐
8:6 And the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in yours hand, that we should give bread unto yours army?
8:7 기드온이 가로되 그러면 여호와께서 세바와 살문나를 내 손에 붙이신 후에 내가 들가시와 찔레로 너희 살을 찢으리라 하고
8:7 And Gideon said, Therefore when the Jehovah has delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
8:8 거기서 브누엘에 올라가서 그들에게도 그 같이 구한즉 브누엘 사람들의 대답도 숙곳 사람들의 대답과 같은지라
8:8 And he went up thence to Penuel, and spoke unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
8:9 기드온이 또 브누엘 사람들에게 일러 가로되 내가 평안이 돌아올 때에 이 망대를 헐리라 하니라
8:9 And he spoke also unto the men of Penuel, saying, When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower.
8:10 ○ 이때에 세바와 살문나가 갈골에 있는데 동방 사람의 모든 군대 중에 칼 든 자 십 이만 명이 죽었고 그들을 좇아 거기 있더라
8:10 Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.
8:11 적군이 안연히 있는 중에 기드온이 노바와 욕브하 동편 장막에 거한 자의 길로 올라가서 적군을 치니
8:11 And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and stroke the host; for the host was secure.
8:12 세바와 살문나가 도망하는지라 기드온이 추격하여 미디안 두 왕 세바와 살문나를 사로잡고 그 온 군대를 파하니라
8:12 And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he pursued after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and humiliated all the host.
8:13 ○ 요아스의 아들 기드온이 헤레스 비탈 전장에서 돌아오다가
8:13 And Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle before the sun was up,
8:14 숙곳 사람 중 한 소년을 잡아 신문하매 숙곳 방백과 장로 칠십 칠 인을 그를 위하여 기록한지라
8:14 And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men.
8:15 기드온이 숙곳 사람들에게 이르러 가로되 너희가 전에 나를 기롱하여 이르기를 세바와 살문나의 손이 지금 어찌 네 손에 있관대 우리가 네 피곤한 사람에게 떡을 주겠느냐 한 그 세바와 살문나를 보라 하고
8:15 And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom all of you did reproach me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in yours hand, that we should give bread unto your men that are weary?
8:16 그 성읍 장로들을 잡고 들가시와 찔레로 숙곳 사람들을 징벌하고
8:16 And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth.
8:17 브누엘 망대를 헐며 그 성읍 사람들을 죽이니라
8:17 And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city.
8:18 이에 세바와 살문나에게 묻되 너희가 다볼에서 죽인 자들은 어떠한 자이더뇨 대답하되 그들이 너와 같아서 모두 왕자 같더라
8:18 Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom all of you slew at Tabor? And they answered, As you are, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.
8:19 가로되 그들은 내 형제 내 어머니의 아들이니라 내가 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노니 너희가 만일 그들을 살렸더면 나도 너희를 죽이지 아니하였으리라 하고
8:19 And he said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the Jehovah lives, if all of you had saved them alive, I would not slay you.
8:20 그 장자 여델에게 이르되 일어나 그들을 죽이라 하였으나 그 소년이 칼을 빼지 못하였으니 이는 아직 어려서 두려워함이었더라
8:20 And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth.
8:21 세바와 살문나가 가로되 네가 일어나 우리를 치라 대저 사람이 어떠하면 그 힘도 그러하니라 기드온이 일어나서 세바와 살문나를 죽이고 그 약대 목에 꾸몄던 새 달 형상의 장식을 취하니라
8:21 Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise you, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks.
8:22 ○ 때에 이스라엘 사람들이 기드온에게 이르되 당신이 우리를 미디안의 손에서 구원하셨으니 당신과 당신의 아들과 당신의 손자가 우리를 다스리소서
8:22 Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule you over us, both you, and your son, and your son's son also: for you have delivered us from the hand of Midian.
8:23 기드온이 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희를 다스리지 아니하겠고 나의 아들도 너희를 다스리지 아니할 것이요 여호와께서 너희를 다스리시리라
8:23 And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Jehovah shall rule over you.
8:24 기드온이 또 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희에게 한 일을 청구하노니 너희는 각기 탈취한 귀고리를 내게 줄지니라 하니 그 대적은 이스마엘 사람이므로 금 귀고리가 있었음이라
8:24 And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that all of you would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
8:25 무리가 대답하되 우리가 즐거이 드리리이다 하고 겉옷을 펴고 각기 탈취한 귀고리를 그 가운데 던지니
8:25 And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey.
8:26 기드온의 청한 바 금 귀고리 중수가 금 일천 칠백 세겔이요 그 외에 또 새 달 형상의 장식과 패물과 미디안 왕들의 입었던 자색 의복과 그 약대 목에 둘렀던 사슬이 있었더라
8:26 And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that was on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that were about their camels' necks.
8:27 기드온이 그 금으로 에봇 하나를 만들어서 자기의 성읍 오브라에 두었더니 온 이스라엘이 그것을 음란하게 위하므로 그것이 기드온과 그 집에 올무가 되니라
8:27 And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house.
8:28 미디안이 이스라엘 자손 앞에 복종하여 다시는 그 머리를 들지 못하였으므로 기드온의 사는 날 동안 사십 년에 그 땅이 태평하였더라
8:28 Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.
8:29 ○ 요아스의 아들 여룹바알이 돌아가서 자기 집에 거하였는데
8:29 And Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house.
8:30 기드온이 아내가 많으므로 몸에서 낳은 아들이 칠십 인이었고
8:30 And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.
8:31 세겜에 있는 첩도 아들을 낳았으므로 그 이름을 아비멜렉이라 하였더라
8:31 And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.
8:32 요아스의 아들 기드온이 나이 많아 죽으매 아비에셀 사람의 오브라에 있는 그의 아비 요아스의 묘실에 장사하였더라
8:32 And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the tomb of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
8:33 ○ 기드온이 이미 죽으매 이스라엘 자손이 돌이켜 바알들을 음란하게 위하고 또 바알브릿을 자기들의 신으로 삼고
8:33 And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.
8:34 사면 모든 대적의 손에서 자기들을 건져내신 여호와 자기들의 하나님을 기억지 아니하며
8:34 And the children of Israel remembered not the Jehovah their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:
8:35 또 여룹바알이라 하는 기드온의 이스라엘에게 베푼 모든 은혜를 따라서 그의 집을 후대치도 아니하였더라
8:35 Neither showed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had showed unto Israel.
9:1 여룹바알의 아들 아비멜렉이 세겜에 가서 그 어미의 형제에게 이르러 그들과 외조부의 온 가족에게 말하여 가로되
9:1 And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,
9:2 청하노니 너희는 세겜 사람들의 귀에 말하라 여룹바알의 아들 칠십 인이 다 너희를 다스림과 한 사람이 너희를 다스림이 어느 것이 너희에게 나으냐 또 나는 너희의 골육지친 임을 생각하라
9:2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.
9:3 그 어미의 형제들이 그를 위하여 이 모든 말을 온 세겜 사람들의 귀에 고하매 그들의 마음이 아비멜렉에게로 기울어서 말하기를 그는 우리 형제라 하고
9:3 And his mother's brethren spoke of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.
9:4 바알브릿 묘에서 은 칠십 개를 내어 그에게 주매 아비멜렉이 그것으로 방탕하고 경박한 유를 사서 자기를 좇게 하고
9:4 And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.
9:5 오브라에 있는 그 아비의 집으로 가서 여룹바알의 아들 곧 자기 형제 칠십 인을 한 반석 위에서 죽였으되 오직 여룹바알의 말째 아들 요담은 스스로 숨었으므로 남으니라
9:5 And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.
9:6 세겜 모든 사람과 밀로 모든 족속이 모여 가서 세겜에 있는 기둥 상수리나무 아래서 아비멜렉으로 왕을 삼으니라
9:6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.
9:7 ○ 혹이 요담에게 그 일을 고하매 요담이 그리심 산 꼭대기로 가서 서서 소리를 높이 외쳐 그들에게 이르되 세겜 사람들아 나를 들으라 그리하여야 하나님이 너희를 들으시리라
9:7 And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, all of you men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.
9:8 하루는 나무들이 나가서 기름을 부어 왕을 삼으려 하여 감람나무에게 이르되 너는 우리 왕이 되라 하매
9:8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign you over us.
9:9 감람나무가 그들에게 이르되 나의 기름은 하나님과 사람을 영화롭게 하나니 내가 어찌 그것을 버리고 가서 나무들 위에 요동하리요 한지라
9:9 But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?
9:10 나무들이 또 무화과나무에게 이르되 너는 와서 우리의 왕이 되라 하매
9:10 And the trees said to the fig tree, Come you, and reign over us.
9:11 무화과나무가 그들에게 이르되 나의 단 것, 나의 아름다운 실과를 내가 어찌 버리고 가서 나무들 위에 요동하리요 한지라
9:11 But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?
9:12 나무들이 또 포도나무에게 이르되 너는 와서 우리의 왕이 되라 하매
9:12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come you, and reign over us.
9:13 포도나무가 그들에게 이르되 하나님과 사람을 기쁘게 하는 나의 새 술을 내가 어찌 버리고 가서 나무들 위에 요동하리요 한지라
9:13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheers God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?
9:14 이에 모든 나무가 가시나무에게 이르되 너는 와서 우리의 왕이 되라 하매
9:14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come you, and reign over us.
9:15 가시나무가 나무들에게 이르되 너희가 참으로 내게 기름을 부어 너희 왕을 삼겠거든 와서 내 그늘에 피하라 그리하지 아니하면 불이 가시나무에서 나와서 레바논의 백향목을 사를 것이니라 하였느니라
9:15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth all of you anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.
9:16 이제 너희가 아비멜렉을 세워 왕을 삼았으니 너희 행한 것이 과연 진실하고 의로우냐 이것이 여룹바알과 그 집을 선대함이냐 이것이 그 행한 대로 그에게 보답함이냐
9:16 Now therefore, if all of you have done truly and sincerely, in that all of you have made Abimelech king, and if all of you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;
9:17 우리 아버지가 전에 죽음을 무릅쓰고 너희를 위하여 싸워 미디안의 손에서 너희를 건져내었거늘
9:17 (For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:
9:18 너희가 오늘날 일어나서 우리 아버지의 집을 쳐서 그 아들 칠십 인을 한 반석 위에서 죽이고 그 여종의 아들 아비멜렉이 너희 형제가 된다고 그를 세워 세겜 사람의 왕을 삼았도다
9:18 And all of you are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)
9:19 만일 너희가 오늘날 여룹바알과 그 집을 대접한 것이 진실과 의로움이면 너희가 아비멜렉을 인하여 즐길 것이요 아비멜렉도 너희를 인하여 즐기려니와
9:19 If all of you then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice all of you in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:
9:20 그렇지 아니하면 아비멜렉에게서 불이 나와서 세겜 사람들과 밀로 족속을 사를 것이요 세겜 사람들과 밀로 족속에게서도 불이 나와서 아비멜렉을 사를 것이니라 하고
9:20 But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.
9:21 요담이 그 형제 아비멜렉을 두려워하여 달려 도망하여 브엘로 가서 거기 거하니라
9:21 And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.
9:22 ○ 아비멜렉이 이스라엘을 다스린지 삼 년에
9:22 When Abimelech had reigned three years over Israel,
9:23 하나님이 아비멜렉과 세겜 사람들 사이에 악한 신을 보내시매 세겜 사람들이 아비멜렉을 배반하였으니
9:23 Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:
9:24 이는 여룹바알의 아들 칠십 인에게 행한 포학한 일을 갚되 그 형제를 죽여 피 흘린 죄를 아비멜렉과 아비멜렉의 손을 도와서 그 형제를 죽이게 한 세겜 사람에게로 돌아가게 하심이라
9:24 That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.
9:25 세겜 사람들이 산들 꼭대기에 사람을 매복하여 아비멜렉을 엿보게 하고 무릇 그 길로 지나는 자를 다 겁탈하게 하니 혹이 그것을 아비멜렉에게 고하니라
9:25 And the men of Shechem set hidden attackers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.
9:26 ○ 에벳의 아들 가알이 그 형제로 더불어 세겜에 이르니 세겜 사람들이 그를 의뢰하니라
9:26 And Gaal the son of Ebed came with his brethren, and went over to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.
9:27 그들이 밭에 가서 포도를 거두어다가 밟아 짜서 연회를 배설하고 그 신당에 들어가서 먹고 마시며 아비멜렉을 저주하니
9:27 And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.
9:28 에벳의 아들 가알이 가로되 아비멜렉은 누구며 세겜은 누구기에 우리가 아비멜렉을 섬기리요 그가 여룹바알의 아들이 아니냐 그 장관은 스불이 아니냐 차라리 세겜의 아비 하몰의 후손을 섬길 것이라 우리가 어찌 아비멜렉을 섬기리요
9:28 And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?
9:29 아하, 이 백성이 내 수하에 있었더면 내가 아비멜렉을 제하였으리라 하고 아비멜렉에게 네 군대를 더하고 나오라고 말하니라
9:29 And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase yours army, and come out.
9:30 ○ 그 성읍 장관 스불이 에벳의 아들 가알의 말을 듣고 노하여
9:30 And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.
9:31 사자를 아비멜렉에게 가만히 보내어 가로되 보소서 에벳의 아들 가알과 그 형제가 세겜에 이르러 성읍 무리를 충동하여 당신을 대적하게 하나니
9:31 And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privately, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against you.
9:32 당신은 당신을 좇은 백성으로 더불어 밤에 일어나서 밭에 매복하였다가
9:32 Now therefore up by night, you and the people that is with you, and lie in wait in the field:
9:33 아침 해 뜰 때에 당신은 일찌기 일어나 이 성읍을 엄습하면 가알과 그를 좇은 백성이 나와서 당신을 대적하리니 당신은 기회를 보아 그들에게 행하소서
9:33 And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, you shall rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against you, then may you do to them as you shall find occasion.
9:34 ○ 아비멜렉과 그를 좇은 모든 백성이 밤에 일어나 네 떼로 나눠 세겜을 대하여 매복하였더니
9:34 And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.
9:35 에벳의 아들 가알이 나와서 성읍 문 입구에 설 때에 아비멜렉과 그를 좇은 백성이 매복하였던 곳에서 일어난지라
9:35 And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from lying in wait.
9:36 가알이 그 백성을 보고 스불에게 이르되 보라 백성이 산 꼭대기에서부터 내려오는도다 스불이 그에게 대답하되 네가 산 그림자를 사람으로 보았느니라
9:36 And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, You see the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.
9:37 가알이 다시 말하여 가로되 보라 백성이 밭 가운데로 좇아 내려오고 또 한 떼는 므오느님 상수리나무 길로 좇아 오는도다
9:37 And Gaal spoke again, and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.
9:38 스불이 그에게 이르되 네가 전에 말하기를 아비멜렉이 누구관대 우리가 그를 섬기리요 하던 그 입이 이제 어디 있느냐 이가 너의 업신여기던 백성이 아니냐 청하노니 이제 나가서 그들과 싸우라
9:38 Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now your mouth, wherewith you said, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that you have despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.
9:39 가알이 세겜 사람들의 앞서 나가서 아비멜렉과 싸우다가
9:39 And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech.
9:40 아비멜렉에게 쫓겨 그 앞에서 도망하였고 상하여 엎드러진 자가 많아서 성문 입구까지 이르렀더라
9:40 And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate.
9:41 아비멜렉은 아루마에 거하고 스불은 가알과 그 형제를 쫓아내어 세겜에 거하지 못하게 하더니
9:41 And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.
9:42 이튿날 백성이 밭으로 나오매 혹이 그것을 아비멜렉에게 고하니라
9:42 And it came to pass on the next day, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.
9:43 아비멜렉이 자기 백성을 세 떼로 나눠 밭에 매복하였더니 백성이 성에서 나오는 것을 보고 일어나서 그들을 치되
9:43 And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and looked, and, behold, the people were come forth out of the city; and he rose up against them, and stroke them.
9:44 아비멜렉과 그를 좇은 떼는 앞으로 달려가서 성문 입구에 서고 그 나머지 두 떼는 밭에 있는 모든 자에게 달려들어 그들을 죽이니
9:44 And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them.
9:45 아비멜렉이 그 날 종일토록 그 성을 쳐서 필경은 취하고 거기 있는 백성을 죽이며 그 성을 헐고 소금을 뿌리니라
9:45 And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.
9:46 ○ 세겜 망대의 사람들이 이를 듣고 엘브릿 신당의 보장으로 들어갔더니
9:46 And when all the men of the tower of Shechem heard that, they entered into an hold of the house of the god Berith.
9:47 세겜 망대의 모든 사람의 모인 것이 아비멜렉에게 들리매
9:47 And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.
9:48 아비멜렉과 그를 좇은 모든 백성이 살몬 산에 오르고 아비멜렉이 손에 도끼를 들고 나무가지를 찍고 그것을 가져 자기 어깨에 메고 좇은 백성에게 이르되 너희는 나의 행하는 것을 보나니 빨리 나와 같이 행하라 하니
9:48 And Abimelech got him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said unto the people that were with him, What all of you have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done.
9:49 모든 백성도 각각 나무가지를 찍어서 아비멜렉을 좇아 보장에 대어 놓고 그 곳에 불을 놓으매 세겜 망대에 있는 사람들도 다 죽었으니 남녀가 대략 일천 명이었더라
9:49 And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the hold, and set the hold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women.
9:50 ○ 아비멜렉이 데베스에 가서 데베스를 대하여 진 치고 그것을 취하였더니
9:50 Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and took it.
9:51 성 중에 견고한 망대가 있으므로 그 성 백성의 남녀가 모두 그리로 도망하여 들어가서 문을 잠그고 망대 꼭대기로 올라간지라
9:51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and got them up to the top of the tower.
9:52 아비멜렉이 망대 앞에 이르러서 치며 망대의 문에 가까이 나아가서 그것을 불사르려 하더니
9:52 And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.
9:53 한 여인이 맷돌 윗짝을 아비멜렉의 머리 위에 내려던져 그 두골을 깨뜨리니
9:53 And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
9:54 아비멜렉이 자기의 병기 잡은 소년을 급히 불러 그에게 이르되 너는 칼을 빼어 나를 죽이라 사람들이 나를 가리켜 이르기를 그가 여인에게 죽었다 할까 하노라 소년이 찌르매 그가 곧 죽은지라
9:54 Then he called hastily unto the young man his armour bearer, and said unto him, Draw your sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A women slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
9:55 이스라엘 사람들이 아비멜렉의 죽은 것을 보고 각각 자기 처소로 떠나갔더라
9:55 And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed every man unto his place.
9:56 아비멜렉이 그 형제 칠십 인을 죽여 자기 아비에게 행한 악을 하나님이 이같이 갚으셨고
9:56 Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren:
9:57 또 세겜 사람들의 모든 악을 하나님이 그들의 머리에 갚으셨으니 여룹바알의 아들 요담의 저주가 그들에게 응하니라
9:57 And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
10:1 아비멜렉의 후에 잇사갈 사람 도도의 손자 부아의 아들 돌라가 일어나서 이스라엘을 구원하니라 그가 에브라임 산지 사밀에 거하여
10:1 And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.
10:2 이스라엘의 사사가 된 지 이십 삼 년 만에 죽으매 사밀에 장사되었더라
10:2 And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
10:3 ○ 그 후에 길르앗 사람 야일이 일어나서 이십 이 년 동안 이스라엘의 사사가 되니라
10:3 And after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, and judged Israel twenty and two years.
10:4 그에게 아들 삼십이 있어 어린 나귀 삼십을 탔고 성읍 삼십을 두었었는데 그 성들은 길르앗 땅에 있고 오늘까지 하봇야일이라 칭하더라
10:4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
10:5 야일이 죽으매 가몬에 장사되었더라
10:5 And Jair died, and was buried in Camon.
10:6 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 다시 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 바알들과 아스다롯과 아람의 신들과 시돈의 신들과 모압의 신들과 암몬 자손의 신들과 블레셋 사람의 신들을 섬기고 여호와를 버려 그를 섬기지 아니하므로
10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Jehovah, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the Jehovah, and served not him.
10:7 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 블레셋 사람의 손과 암몬 자손의 손에 파시매
10:7 And the anger of the Jehovah was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.
10:8 그들이 그 해부터 이스라엘 자손을 학대하니 요단 저편 길르앗 아모리 사람의 땅에 거한 이스라엘 자손이 십 팔 년 동안 학대를 당하였고
10:8 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
10:9 암몬 자손이 또 요단을 건너서 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임 족속을 치므로 이스라엘의 곤고가 심하였더라
10:9 Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.
10:10 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 우리가 우리 하나님을 버리고 바알들을 섬김으로 주께 범죄하였나이다
10:10 And the children of Israel cried unto the Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against you, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.
10:11 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손에게 이르시되 내가 애굽 사람과 아모리 사람과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람에게서 너희를 구원하지 아니하였느냐
10:11 And the Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
10:12 또 시돈 사람과 아말렉 사람과 마온 사람이 너희를 압제할 때에 너희가 내게 부르짖으므로 내가 너희를 그들의 손에서 구원하였거늘
10:12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and all of you cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
10:13 너희가 나를 버리고 다른 신들을 섬기니 그러므로 내가 다시는 너희를 구원치 아니하리라
10:13 Yet all of you have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
10:14 가서 너희가 택한 신들에게 부르짖어서 너희 환난 때에 그들로 너희를 구원하게 하라
10:14 Go and cry unto the gods which all of you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
10:15 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 여짜오되 우리가 범죄하였사오니 주의 보시기에 좋은 대로 우리에게 행하시려니와 오직 주께 구하옵나니 오늘날 우리를 건져내옵소서 하고
10:15 And the children of Israel said unto the Jehovah, We have sinned: do you unto us whatsoever seems good unto you; deliver us only, we pray you, this day.
10:16 자기 가운데서 이방 신들을 제하여 버리고 여호와를 섬기매 여호와께서 이스라엘의 곤고를 인하여 마음에 근심하시니라
10:16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the Jehovah: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
10:17 ○ 그 때에 암몬 자손이 모여서 길르앗에 진 쳤으므로 이스라엘 자손도 모여서 미스바에 진 치고
10:17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.
10:18 길르앗 백성과 방백들이 서로 이르되 누가 먼저 나가서 암몬 자손과 싸움을 시작할꼬 그가 길르앗 모든 거민의 머리가 되리라 하니라
10:18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
