Lamentations
1:1 How does the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
1:1 슬프다 이 성이여 본래는 거민이 많더니 이제는 어찌 그리 적막히 앉았는고 본래는 열국 중에 크던 자가 이제는 과부 같고 본래는 열방 중에 공주 되었던 자가 이제는 조공 드리는 자가 되었도다
1:2 She weeps sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she has none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
1:2 밤새도록 애곡하니 눈물이 뺨에 흐름이여 사랑하던 자 중에 위로하는 자가 없고 친구도 다 배반하여 원수가 되었도다
1:3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwells among the heathen, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
1:3 유다는 환난과 많은 수고로 인하여 사로잡혀 갔도다 저가 열방에 거하여 평강을 얻지 못함이여 그 모든 핍박하는 자가 저를 쫓아 협착한 곳에 미쳤도다
1:4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
1:4 시온의 도로가 처량함이여 절기에 나아가는 사람이 없음이로다 모든 성문이 황적하며 제사장들이 탄식하며 처녀들이 근심하며 저도 곤고를 받았도다
1:5 Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the Jehovah has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
1:5 저의 대적이 머리가 되고 저의 원수가 형통함은 저의 죄가 많으므로 여호와께서 곤고케 하셨음이라 어린 자녀들이 대적에게 사로잡혔도다
1:6 And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
1:6 처녀 시온의 모든 영광이 떠나감이여 저의 목백은 꼴을 찾지 못한 사슴이 쫓는 자 앞에서 힘없이 달림 같도다
1:7 Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
1:7 예루살렘이 환난과 군박을 당하는 날에 옛날의 모든 즐거움을 생각함이여 백성이 대적의 손에 빠지나 돕는 자가 없고 대적은 보고 그 황적함을 비웃도다
1:8 Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sighs, and turns backward.
1:8 예루살렘이 크게 범죄하므로 불결한 자 같이 되니 전에 높이던 모든 자가 그 적신을 보고 업신여김이여 저가 탄식하며 물러가도다
1:9 Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O Jehovah, behold my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.
1:9 저의 더러움이 그 치마에 있으나 결국을 생각지 아니함이여 그러므로 놀랍게 낮아져도 위로할 자가 없도다 여호와여 원수가 스스로 큰 체하오니 나의 환난을 감찰하소서
1:10 The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom you did command that they should not enter into your congregation.
1:10 대적이 손을 펴서 보물을 빼앗았나이다 주께서 이미 이방인을 금하여 주의 공회에 들어오지 못하게 하셨사오나 저희가 성소에 들어간 것을 예루살렘이 보았나이다
1:11 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to relieve the soul: see, O Jehovah, and consider; for I am become vile.
1:11 그 모든 백성이 생명을 소성시키려고 보물로 식물들을 바꾸었더니 지금도 탄식하며 양식을 구하나이다 나는 비천하오니 여호와여 나를 권고하옵소서
1:12 Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Jehovah has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
1:12 무릇 지나가는 자여 너희에게는 관계가 없는가 내게 임한 근심 같은 근심이 있는가, 볼지어다 여호와께서 진노하신 날에 나를 괴롭게 하신 것이로다
1:13 From above has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them: he has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: he has made me desolate and faint all the day.
1:13 위에서부터 나의 골수에 불을 보내어 이기게 하시고 내 발 앞에 그물을 베푸사 나로 물러가게 하셨음이여 종일토록 고적하여 곤비케 하셨도다
1:14 The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he has made my strength to fall, the Jehovah has delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
1:14 내 죄악의 멍에를 그 손으로 묶고 얽어 내 목에 올리사 내 힘을 피곤케 하셨음이여 내가 당할 수 없는 자의 손에 주께서 나를 붙이셨도다
1:15 The Jehovah has trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he has called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Jehovah has trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
1:15 주께서 내 지경 안 모든 용사를 없는 것 같이 여기시고 성회를 모아 내 소년들을 부수심이여 처녀 유다를 술틀에 밟으셨도다
1:16 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runs down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
1:16 이를 인하여 내가 우니 내 눈에 눈물이 물 같이 흐름이여 나를 위로하여 내 영을 소성시킬 자가 멀리 떠났음이로다 원수들이 이기매 내 자녀들이 외롭도다
1:17 Zion spreads forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the Jehovah has commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
1:17 시온이 두 손을 폈으나 위로할 자가 없도다 여호와께서 야곱의 사면에 있는 자를 명하여 야곱의 대적이 되게 하셨으니 예루살렘은 저희 가운데 불결한 자 같도다
1:18 The Jehovah is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
1:18 여호와는 의로우시도다 내가 여호와의 명령을 거역하였도다 너희 모든 백성들아 내 말을 듣고 내 근심을 볼지어다 나의 처녀와 소년들이 사로잡혀 갔도다
1:19 I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the spirit in the city, while they sought their food to relieve their souls.
1:19 내가 내 사랑하는 자를 불렀으나 저희가 나를 속였으며 나의 제사장들과 장로들은 소성시킬 식물을 구하다가 성중에서 기절하였도다
1:20 Behold, O Jehovah; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
1:20 여호와여 돌아보옵소서 내가 환난 중에서 마음이 괴롭고 마음이 번뇌하오니 나의 패역이 심히 큼이니이다 밖으로는 칼의 살륙이 있고 집에는 사망 같은 것이 있나이다
1:21 They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: you will bring the day that you have called, and they shall be like unto me.
1:21 저희가 나의 탄식을 들었으나 나를 위로하는 자가 없고 나의 모든 원수가 나의 재앙을 들었으나 주께서 이렇게 행하심을 기뻐하나이다 주께서 반포하신 날을 이르게 하시리니 저희가 나와 같이 되겠나이다
1:22 Let all their wickedness come before you; and do unto them, as you have done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
1:22 저희 모든 악을 주 앞에 나타내시고 나의 모든 죄악을 인하여 내게 행하신 것 같이 저희에게 행하옵소서 나의 탄식이 많고 나의 마음이 곤비하니이다
2:1 How has the Jehovah covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!
2:1 슬프다 주께서 어찌 그리 진노하사 처녀 시온을 구름으로 덮으셨는고 이스라엘의 아름다운 것을 하늘에서 땅에 던지셨음이여 진노하신 날에 그 발등상을 기억지 아니하셨도다
2:2 The Jehovah has swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and has not pitied: he has thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he has brought them down to the ground: he has polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
2:2 주께서 야곱의 모든 거처를 삼키시고 긍휼히 여기지 아니하셨음이여 노하사 처녀 유다의 견고한 성을 헐어 땅에 엎으시고 나라와 방백으로 욕되게 하셨도다
2:3 He has cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours round about.
2:3 맹렬한 진노로 이스라엘 모든 뿔을 자르셨음이여 원수 앞에서 오른손을 거두시고 맹렬한 불이 사방으로 사름 같이 야곱을 사르셨도다
2:4 He has bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
2:4 원수 같이 활을 당기고 대적처럼 오른손을 들고 서서 눈에 아름다운 모든 자를 살륙하셨음이여 처녀 시온의 장막에 노를 불처럼 쏟으셨도다
2:5 The Jehovah was as an enemy: he has swallowed up Israel, he has swallowed up all her palaces: he has destroyed his strong holds, and has increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
2:5 주께서 원수 같이 되어 이스라엘을 삼키셨음이여 모든 궁을 삼키셨고 견고한 성들을 훼파하사 처녀 유다에 근심과 애통을 더하셨도다
2:6 And he has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he has destroyed his places of the assembly: the Jehovah has caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and has despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
2:6 성막을 동산의 초막 같이 헐어 버리시며 공회 처소를 훼파하셨도다 여호와께서 시온 가운데서 절기와 안식일을 잊어버리게 하시며 진노하사 왕과 제사장을 멸시하셨도다
2:7 The Jehovah has cast off his altar, he has abhorred his sanctuary, he has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the Jehovah, as in the day of a solemn feast.
2:7 여호와께서 또 자기 제단을 버리시며 자기 성소를 미워하시며 궁장을 원수의 손에 붙이셨으매 저희가 여호와의 전에서 훤화하기를 절기 날과 같이 하였도다
2:8 The Jehovah has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he has stretched out a line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
2:8 여호와께서 처녀 시온의 성을 헐기로 결심하시고 줄을 띠고 훼파함에서 손을 거두지 아니하사 성과 곽으로 통곡하게 하셨으매 저희가 함께 쇠하였도다
2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he has destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the Jehovah.
2:9 성문이 땅에 묻히며 빗장이 꺾여 훼파되고 왕과 방백들이 율법 없는 열방 가운데 있으며 그 선지자들은 여호와의 묵시를 받지 못하는도다
2:10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
2:10 처녀 시온의 장로들이 땅에 앉아 잠잠하고 티끌을 머리에 무릅쓰고 굵은 베를 허리에 둘렀음이여 예루살렘 처녀들은 머리를 땅에 숙였도다
2:11 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.
2:11 내 눈이 눈물에 상하며 내 창자가 끓으며 내 간이 땅에 쏟아졌으니 이는 처녀 내 백성이 패망하여 어린 자녀와 젖 먹는 아이들이 성읍 길거리에 혼미함이로다
2:12 They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.
2:12 저희가 성읍 길거리에서 상한 자처럼 혼미하여 그 어미의 품에서 혼이 떠날 때에 어미에게 이르기를 곡식과 포도주가 어디 있느뇨 하도다
2:13 What thing shall I take to witness for you? what thing shall I liken to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? for your breach is great like the sea: who can heal you?
2:13 처녀 예루살렘이여 내가 무엇으로 네게 증거하며 무엇으로 네게 비유할꼬 처녀 시온이여 내가 무엇으로 네게 비교하여 너를 위로할꼬 너의 파괴됨이 바다 같이 크니 누가 너를 고칠소냐
2:14 Your prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you: and they have not discovered yours iniquity, to turn away your captivity; but have seen for you false burdens and causes of banishment.
2:14 네 선지자들이 네게 대하여 헛되고 어리석은 묵시를 보았으므로 네 죄악을 드러내어서 네 사로잡힌 것을 돌이키지 못하였도다 저희가 거짓 경고와 미혹케 할 것만 보았도다
2:15 All that pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and shake their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
2:15 무릇 지나가는 자는 다 너를 향하여 박장하며 처녀 예루살렘을 향하여 비소하고 머리를 흔들며 말하기를 온전한 영광이라, 천하의 희락이라 일컫던 성이 이 성이냐 하며
2:16 All yours enemies have opened their mouth against you: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
2:16 너의 모든 원수는 너를 향하여 입을 벌리며 비소하고 이를 갈며 말하기를 우리가 저를 삼켰도다 우리가 바라던 날이 과연 이 날이라 우리가 얻기도 하고 보기도 하였다 하도다
2:17 The Jehovah has done that which he had devised; he has fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he has thrown down, and has not pitied: and he has caused yours enemy to rejoice over you, he has set up the horn of yours adversaries.
2:17 여호와께서 이미 정하신 일을 행하시고 옛날에 명하신 말씀을 다 이루셨음이여 긍휼히 여기지 아니하시고 훼파하사 원수로 너를 인하여 즐거워하게 하며 너의 대적의 뿔로 높이 들리게 하셨도다
2:18 Their heart cried unto the Jehovah, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give yourself no rest; let not the apple of yours eye cease.
2:18 저희 마음이 주를 향하여 부르짖기를 처녀 시온의 성곽아 너는 밤낮으로 눈물을 강처럼 흘릴지어다 스스로 쉬지 말고 네 눈동자로 쉬게 하지 말지어다
2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out yours heart like water before the face of the Jehovah: lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
2:19 밤 초경에 일어나 부르짖을지어다 네 마음을 주의 얼굴 앞에 물 쏟듯 할지어다 각 길머리에서 주려 혼미한 네 어린 자녀의 생명을 위하여 주를 향하여 손을 들지어다 하였도다
2:20 Behold, O Jehovah, and consider to whom you have done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
2:20 ○ 여호와여 감찰하소서 뉘게 이같이 행하셨는지요 여인들이 어찌 자기 열매 곧 손에 받든 아이를 먹으오며 제사장들과 선지자들이 어찌 주의 성소에서 살륙을 당하오리이까
2:21 The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; you have slain them in the day of yours anger; you have killed, and not pitied.
2:21 노유는 다 길바닥에 엎드러졌사오며 내 처녀들과 소년들이 칼에 죽었나이다 주께서 진노하신 날에 죽이시되 긍휼히 여기지 아니하시고 살륙하셨나이다
2:22 You have called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the Jehovah's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up has mine enemy consumed.
2:22 주께서 내 두려운 일을 사방에서 부르시기를 절기에 무리를 부름 같이 하셨나이다 여호와께서 진노하신 날에 피하거나 남은 자가 없었나이다 내 손에 받들어 기르는 자를 내 원수가 다 멸하였나이다
3:1 I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
3:1 여호와의 노하신 매로 인하여 고난 당한 자는 내로다
3:2 He has led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3:2 나를 이끌어 흑암에 행하고 광명에 행치 않게 하셨으며
3:3 Surely against me is he turned; he turns his hand against me all the day.
3:3 종일토록 손을 돌이켜 자주 자주 나를 치시도다
3:4 My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
3:4 나의 살과 가죽을 쇠하게 하시며 나의 뼈를 꺾으셨고
3:5 He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
3:5 담즙과 수고를 쌓아 나를 에우셨으며
3:6 He has set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
3:6 나로 흑암에 거하게 하시기를 죽은 지 오랜 자 같게 하셨도다
3:7 He has hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he has made my chain heavy.
3:7 나를 둘러싸서 나가지 못하게 하시고 나의 사슬을 무겁게 하셨으며
3:8 Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
3:8 내가 부르짖어 도움을 구하나 내 기도를 물리치시며
3:9 He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone, he has made my paths crooked.
3:9 다듬은 돌을 쌓아 내 길을 막으사 내 첩경을 굽게 하셨도다
3:10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
3:10 저는 내게 대하여 엎드리어 기다리는 곰과 은밀한 곳의 사자 같으사
3:11 He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he has made me desolate.
3:11 나의 길로 치우치게 하시며 내 몸을 찢으시며 나로 적막하게 하셨도다
3:12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
3:12 활을 당기고 나로 과녁을 삼으심이여
3:13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
3:13 전동의 살로 내 허리를 맞추셨도다
3:14 I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
3:14 나는 내 모든 백성에게 조롱거리 곧 종일토록 그들의 노랫거리가 되었도다
3:15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunken with wormwood.
3:15 나를 쓴 것으로 배불리시고 쑥으로 취하게 하셨으며
3:16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he has covered me with ashes.
3:16 조약돌로 내 이를 꺾으시고 재로 나를 덮으셨도다
3:17 And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgotten about prosperity.
3:17 주께서 내 심령으로 평강을 멀리 떠나게 하시니 내가 복을 잊어버렸음이여
3:18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Jehovah:
3:18 스스로 이르기를 나의 힘과 여호와께 대한 내 소망이 끊어졌다 하였도다
3:19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
3:19 ○ 내 고초와 재난 곧 쑥과 담즙을 기억하소서
3:20 My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
3:20 내 심령이 그것을 기억하고 낙심이 되오나
3:21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
3:21 중심에 회상한즉 오히려 소망이 있사옴은
3:22 It is of the Jehovah's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
3:22 여호와의 자비와 긍휼이 무궁하시므로 우리가 진멸되지 아니함이니이다
3:23 They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
3:23 이것이 아침마다 새로우니 주의 성실이 크도소이다
3:24 The Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
3:24 내 심령에 이르기를 여호와는 나의 기업이시니 그러므로 내가 저를 바라리라 하도다
3:25 The Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
3:25 무릇 기다리는 자에게나 구하는 영혼에게 여호와께서 선을 베푸시는도다
3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Jehovah.
3:26 사람이 여호와의 구원을 바라고 잠잠히 기다림이 좋도다
3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
3:27 사람이 젊었을 때에 멍에를 메는 것이 좋으니
3:28 He sits alone and keeps silence, because he has borne it upon him.
3:28 혼자 앉아서 잠잠할 것은 주께서 그것을 메우셨음이라
3:29 He puts his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
3:29 입을 티끌에 댈지어다 혹시 소망이 있을지로다
3:30 He gives his cheek to him that strikes him: he is filled full with reproach.
3:30 때리는 자에게 뺨을 향하여 수욕으로 배불릴지어다
3:31 For the Jehovah will not cast off for ever:
3:31 이는 주께서 영원토록 버리지 않으실 것임이며
3:32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
3:32 저가 비록 근심케 하시나 그 풍부한 자비대로 긍휼히 여기실 것임이라
3:33 For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
3:33 주께서 인생으로 고생하며 근심하게 하심이 본심이 아니시로다
3:34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
3:34 세상에 모든 갇힌 자를 발로 밟는 것과
3:35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
3:35 지극히 높으신 자의 얼굴 앞에서 사람의 재판을 굽게 하는 것과
3:36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Jehovah approves not.
3:36 사람의 송사를 억울케 하는 것은 다 주의 기쁘게 보시는 것이 아니로다
3:37 Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not?
3:37 주의 명령이 아니면 누가 능히 말하여 이루게 하랴
3:38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?
3:38 화, 복이 지극히 높으신 자의 입으로 나오지 아니하느냐
3:39 Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
3:39 살아 있는 사람은 자기 죄로 벌을 받나니 어찌 원망하랴
3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and return to the Jehovah.
3:40 ○ 우리가 스스로 행위를 조사하고 여호와께로 돌아가자
3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
3:41 마음과 손을 아울러 하늘에 계신 하나님께 들자
3:42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: you have not pardoned.
3:42 우리의 범죄함과 패역함을 주께서 사하지 아니하시고
3:43 You have covered with anger, and persecuted us: you have slain, you have not pitied.
3:43 진노로 스스로 가리우시고 우리를 군축하시며 살륙하사 긍휼을 베풀지 아니하셨나이다
3:44 You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
3:44 주께서 구름으로 스스로 가리우사 기도로 상달치 못하게 하시고
3:45 You have made us as the waste and refuse in the midst of the people.
3:45 우리를 열방 가운데서 진개와 폐물을 삼으셨으므로
3:46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
3:46 우리의 모든 대적이 우리를 향하여 입을 크게 벌렸나이다
3:47 Fear and a snare has come upon us, desolation and destruction.
3:47 두려움과 함정과 잔해와 멸망이 우리에게 임하였도다
3:48 Mine eye runs down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
3:48 처녀 내 백성의 파멸을 인하여 내 눈에 눈물이 시내처럼 흐르도다
3:49 Mine eye trickes down, and ceases not, without any intermission.
3:49 내 눈의 흐르는 눈물이 그치지 아니하고 쉬지 아니함이여
3:50 Till the Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.
3:50 여호와께서 하늘에서 살피시고 돌아보시기를 기다리는도다
3:51 Mine eye affects mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
3:51 나의 성읍의 모든 여자를 인하여 내 눈이 내 심령을 상하게 하는도다
3:52 Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
3:52 무고히 나의 대적이 된 자가 나를 새와 같이 심히 쫓도다
3:53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
3:53 저희가 내 생명을 끊으려고 나를 구덩이에 넣고 그 위에 돌을 던짐이여
3:54 Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
3:54 물이 내 머리에 넘치니 내가 스스로 이르기를 이제는 멸절되었다 하도다
3:55 I called upon your name, O Jehovah, out of the low dungeon.
3:55 ○ 여호와여 내가 심히 깊은 구덩이에서 주의 이름을 불렀나이다
3:56 You have heard my voice: hide not yours ear at my breathing, at my cry.
3:56 주께서 이미 나의 음성을 들으셨사오니 이제 나의 탄식과 부르짖음에 주의 귀를 가리우지 마옵소서
3:57 You drew near in the day that I called upon you: you said, Fear not.
3:57 내가 주께 아뢴 날에 주께서 내게 가까이 하여 가라사대 두려워 말라 하셨나이다
3:58 O Jehovah, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
3:58 주여 주께서 내 심령의 원통을 펴셨고 내 생명을 속하셨나이다
3:59 O Jehovah, you have seen my wrong: judge you my cause.
3:59 여호와여 나의 억울을 감찰하셨사오니 나를 위하여 신원하옵소서
3:60 You have seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
3:60 저희가 내게 보수하며 나를 모해함을 주께서 다 감찰하셨나이다
3:61 You have heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their imaginations against me;
3:61 여호와여 저희가 나를 훼파하며 나를 모해하는 것
3:62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
3:62 곧 일어나 나를 치는 자의 입술에서 나오는 것과 종일 모해하는 것을 들으셨나이다
3:63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their music.
3:63 저희가 앉든지 서든지 나를 노래하는 것을 주여 보옵소서
3:64 Render unto them a recompence, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
3:64 여호와여 주께서 저의 손으로 행한 대로 보응하사
3:65 Give them sorrow of heart, your curse unto them.
3:65 그 마음을 강퍅하게 하시고 저주를 더하시며
3:66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Jehovah.
3:66 진노로 저희를 군축하사 여호와의 천하에서 멸하시리이다
4:1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
4:1 슬프다 어찌 그리 금이 빛을 잃고 정금이 변하였으며 성소의 돌이 각 거리 머리에 쏟아졌는고
4:2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
4:2 시온의 아들들이 보배로와 정금에 비할러니 어찌 그리 토기장이의 만든 질항아리 같이 여김이 되었는고
4:3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4:3 들개는 오히려 젖을 내어 새끼를 먹이나 처녀 내 백성은 잔인하여 광야의 타조 같도다
4:4 The tongue of the nursing infant cleaves to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaks it unto them.
4:4 젖먹이가 목말라서 혀가 입천장에 붙음이여 어린 아이가 떡을 구하나 떼어 줄 사람이 없도다
4:5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
4:5 진수를 먹던 자가 거리에 외로움이여 전에는 붉은 옷을 입고 길리운 자가 이제는 거름더미를 안았도다
4:6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
4:6 전에 소돔이 사람의 손을 대지 않고 경각간에 무너지더니 이제 처녀 내 백성의 죄가 소돔의 죄악보다 중하도다
4:7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more rosy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:
4:7 전에는 존귀한 자의 몸이 눈보다 깨끗하고 젖보다 희며 산호보다 붉어 그 윤택함이 마광한 청옥 같더니
4:8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaves to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
4:8 이제는 그 얼굴이 숯보다 검고 그 가죽이 뼈에 붙어 막대기 같이 말랐으니 거리에서 알 사람이 없도다
4:9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for lack of the fruits of the field.
4:9 칼에 죽은 자가 주려 죽은 자보다 나음은 토지 소산이 끊어지므로 이들이 찔림 같이 점점 쇠약하여 감이로다
4:10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
4:10 처녀 내 백성의 멸망할 때에 자비한 부녀가 손으로 자기 자녀를 삶아 식물을 삼았도다
4:11 The Jehovah has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured the foundations thereof.
4:11 ○ 여호와께서 분을 발하시며 맹렬한 노를 쏟으심이여 시온에 불을 피우사 그 지대를 사르셨도다
4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
4:12 대적과 원수가 예루살렘 성문으로 들어갈 줄은 세상 열왕과 천하 모든 백성이 믿지 못하였었도다
4:13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,
4:13 그 선지자들의 죄와 제사장들의 죄악을 인함이니 저희가 성읍 중에서 의인의 피를 흘렸도다
4:14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
4:14 저희가 거리에서 소경 같이 방황함이여 그 옷이 피에 더러웠으므로 사람이 만질 수 없도다
4:15 They cried unto them, Depart all of you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.
4:15 사람이 저희에게 외쳐 이르기를 부정하다 가라, 가라, 가라, 만지지 말라 하였음이여 저희가 도망하여 방황할 때에 이방인이 이르기를 저희가 다시는 여기 거하지 못하리라 하였도다
4:16 The anger of the Jehovah has divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
4:16 여호와께서 노하여 흩으시고 다시 권고치 아니하시리니 저희가 제사장들을 높이지 아니하였으며 장로들을 대접지 아니하였음이로다
4:17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
4:17 우리가 헛되이 도움을 바라므로 우리 눈이 상함이여 우리를 구원치 못할 나라를 바라보고 바라보았도다
4:18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end has come.
4:18 저희가 우리 자취를 엿보니 우리가 거리에 행할 수 없음이여 우리의 끝이 가깝고 우리의 날이 다하였고 우리의 마지막이 이르렀도다
4:19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
4:19 우리를 쫓는 자가 공중의 독수리보다 빠름이여 산 꼭대기에서도 쫓고 광야에도 매복하였도다
4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the Jehovah, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
4:20 우리의 콧김 곧 여호와의 기름 부으신 자가 저희 함정에 빠졌음이여 우리가 저를 가리키며 전에 이르기를 우리가 저의 그늘 아래서 열국 중에 살겠다 하던 자로다
4:21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto you: you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked.
4:21 우스 땅에 거하는 처녀 에돔아 즐거워하며 기뻐하려무나 잔이 네게도 이를지니 네가 취하여 벌거벗으리라
4:22 The punishment of yours iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry you away into captivity: he will visit yours iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover your sins.
4:22 처녀 시온아 네 죄악의 형벌이 다하였으니 주께서 다시는 너로 사로잡혀 가지 않게 하시리로다 처녀 에돔아 주께서 네 죄악을 벌하시며 네 허물을 드러내시리로다
5:1 Remember, O Jehovah, what has come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
5:1 여호와여 우리의 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리의 수욕을 감찰하옵소서
5:2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
5:2 우리 기업이 외인에게, 우리 집들도 외인에게 돌아갔나이다
5:3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
5:3 우리는 아비 없는 외로운 자식이오며 우리 어미는 과부 같으니
5:4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
5:4 우리가 은을 주고 물을 마시며 값을 주고 섶을 얻으오며
5:5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.
5:5 우리를 쫓는 자는 우리 목을 눌렀사오니 우리가 곤비하여 쉴 수 없나이다
5:6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
5:6 우리가 애굽 사람과 앗수르 사람과 악수하고 양식을 얻어 배불리고자 하였나이다
5:7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
5:7 우리 열조는 범죄하고 없어졌고 우리는 그 죄악을 담당하였나이다
5:8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that does deliver us out of their hand.
5:8 종들이 우리를 관할함이여 그 손에서 건져낼 자가 없나이다
5:9 We got our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
5:9 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 죽기를 무릅써야 양식을 얻사오니
5:10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
5:10 주림의 열기로 인하여 우리의 피부가 아궁이처럼 검으니이다
5:11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.
5:11 대적이 시온에서 부녀들을, 유다 각 성에서 처녀들을 욕보였나이다
5:12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
5:12 방백들의 손이 매어달리며 장로들의 얼굴이 존경을 받지 못하나이다
5:13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
5:13 소년들이 맷돌을 지오며 아이들이 섶을 지다가 엎드러지오며
5:14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
5:14 노인은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 소년은 다시 노래하지 못하나이다
5:15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
5:15 우리 마음에 희락이 그쳤고 우리의 무도가 변하여 애통이 되었사오며
5:16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
5:16 우리 머리에서 면류관이 떨어졌사오니 오호라 우리의 범죄함을 인함이니이다
5:17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.
5:17 이러므로 우리 마음이 피곤하고 이러므로 우리 눈이 어두우며
5:18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
5:18 시온 산이 황무하여 여우가 거기서 노나이다
5:19 You, O Jehovah, remain for ever; your throne from generation to generation.
5:19 ○ 여호와여 주는 영원히 계시오며 주의 보좌는 세세에 미치나이다
5:20 Wherefore do you forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
5:20 주께서 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오래 버리시나이까
5:21 Turn you us unto you, O Jehovah, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
5:21 여호와여 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서 그리하시면 우리가 주께로 돌아가겠사오니 우리의 날을 다시 새롭게 하사 옛적 같게 하옵소서
5:22 But you have utterly rejected us; you are very angry against us.
5:22 주께서 우리를 아주 버리셨사오며 우리에게 진노하심이 특심하시니이다
