1:1 사울의 죽은 후라 다윗이 아말렉 사람을 도륙하고 돌아와서 시글락에서 이틀을 유하더니
1:1 Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;
1:2 제 삼 일에 한 사람이 사울의 진에서 나왔는데 그 옷은 찢어졌고 머리에는 흙이 있더라 저가 다윗에게 나아와 땅에 엎드려 절하매
1:2 It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did reverence.
1:3 다윗이 저에게 묻되 너는 어디서 왔느냐 대답하되 이스라엘 진에서 도망하여 왔나이다
1:3 And David said unto him, From whence come you? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.
1:4 다윗이 가로되 일이 어떻게 되었느뇨 너는 내게 고하라 저가 대답하되 군사가 전쟁 중에서 도망하기도 하였고 무리 중에 엎드러져 죽은 자도 많았고 사울과 그 아들 요나단도 죽었나이다
1:4 And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray you, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
1:5 다윗이 자기에게 고하는 소년에게 묻되 사울과 그 아들 요나단의 죽은 줄을 네가 어떻게 아느냐
1:5 And David said unto the young man that told him, How know you that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?
1:6 그에게 고하는 소년이 가로되 내가 우연히 길보아 산에 올라 보니 사울이 자기 창을 의지하였고 병거와 기병은 저를 촉급히 따르는데
1:6 And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
1:7 사울이 뒤로 돌이켜 나를 보고 부르시기로 내가 대답하되 내가 여기 있나이다 한즉
1:7 And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.
1:8 내게 이르되 너는 누구냐 하시기로 내가 대답하되 나는 아말렉 사람이니이다 한즉
1:8 And he said unto me, Who are you? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.
1:9 또 내게 이르되 내 목숨이 아직 내게 완전히 있으므로 내가 고통에 들었나니 너는 내 곁에 서서 나를 죽이라 하시기로
1:9 He said unto me again, Stand, I pray you, upon me, and slay me: for anguish has come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
1:10 저가 엎드러진 후에는 살 수 없는 줄을 내가 알고 그 곁에 서서 죽이고 그 머리에 있는 면류관과 팔에 있는 고리를 벗겨서 내 주께로 가져왔나이다
1:10 So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here unto my lord.
1:11 ○ 이에 다윗이 자기 옷을 잡아 찢으매 함께 있는 모든 사람도 그리하고
1:11 Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
1:12 사울과 그 아들 요나단과 여호와의 백성과 이스라엘 족속이 칼에 죽음을 인하여 저녁 때까지 슬퍼하여 울며 금식하니라
1:12 And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
1:13 다윗이 그 고한 소년에게 묻되 너는 어디 사람이냐 대답하되 나는 아말렉 사람 곧 외국인의 아들이니이다
1:13 And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence are you? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
1:14 다윗이 저에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 손을 들어 여호와의 기름 부음 받은 자 죽이기를 두려워하지 아니하였느냐 하고
1:14 And David said unto him, How were you not afraid to stretch forth yours hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?
1:15 소년 중 하나를 불러 이르되 가까이 가서 저를 죽이라 하매 그가 치매 곧 죽으니라
1:15 And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he stroke him that he died.
1:16 다윗이 저에게 이르기를 네 피가 네 머리로 돌아갈지어다 네 입이 네게 대하여 증거하기를 내가 여호와의 기름 부음 받은 자를 죽였노라 함이니라 하였더라
1:16 And David said unto him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.
1:17 ○ 다윗이 이 슬픈 노래로 사울과 그 아들 요나단을 조상하고
1:17 And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
1:18 명하여 그것을 유다 족속에게 가르치라 하였으니 곧 활 노래라 야살의 책에 기록되었으되
1:18 (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
1:19 이스라엘아 너의 영광이 산 위에서 죽임을 당하였도다 오호라 두 용사가 엎드러졌도다
1:19 The beauty of Israel is slain upon your high places: how are the mighty fallen!
1:20 이 일을 가드에도 고하지 말며 아스글론 거리에도 전파하지 말지어다 블레셋 사람의 딸들이 즐거워할까, 할례 받지 못한 자의 딸들이 개가를 부를까 염려로다
1:20 Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
1:21 길보아 산들아 너희 위에 우로가 내리지 아니하며 제물 낼 밭도 없을지어다 거기서 두 용사의 방패가 버린 바 됨이라 곧 사울의 방패가 기름 부음을 받지 않음 같이 됨이로다
1:21 All of you mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
1:22 죽은 자의 피에서, 용사의 기름에서 요나단의 활이 물러가지 아니하였으며 사울의 칼이 헛되이 돌아오지 아니하였도다
1:22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.
1:23 사울과 요나단이 생전에 사랑스럽고 아름다운 자러니 죽을 때에도 서로 떠나지 아니하였도다 저희는 독수리보다 빠르고 사자보다 강하였도다
1:23 Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
1:24 이스라엘 딸들아 사울을 슬퍼하여 울지어다 저가 붉은 옷으로 너희에게 화려하게 입혔고 금 노리개를 너희 옷에 채웠도다
1:24 All of you daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
1:25 오호라 두 용사가 전쟁 중에 엎드러졌도다 요나단이 너의 산 위에서 죽임을 당하였도다
1:25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, you were slain in yours high places.
1:26 내 형 요나단이여 내가 그대를 애통함은 그대는 내게 심히 아름다움이라 그대가 나를 사랑함이 기이하여 여인의 사랑보다 승하였도다
1:26 I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant have you been unto me: your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
1:27 오호라 두 용사가 엎드러졌으며 싸우는 병기가 망하였도다 하였더라
1:27 How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
2:1 그 후에 다윗이 여호와께 물어 가로되 내가 유다 한 성으로 올라가리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 올라가라 다윗이 가로되 어디로 가리이까 가라사대 헤브론으로 갈지니라
2:1 And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.
2:2 다윗이 그 두 아내 이스르엘 여인 아히노암과 갈멜 사람 나발의 아내 되었던 아비가일을 데리고 그리로 올라갈 때에
2:2 So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal's wife the Carmelite.
2:3 또 자기와 함께 한 종자들과 그들의 권속들을 다 데리고 올라가서 헤브론 각 성에 거하게 하니라
2:3 And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.
2:4 유다 사람들이 와서 거기서 다윗에게 기름을 부어 유다 족속의 왕을 삼았더라 ○ 혹이 다윗에게 고하여 가로되 사울을 장사한 사람은 길르앗 야베스 사람들이니이다 하매
2:4 And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.
2:5 다윗이 길르앗 야베스 사람들에게 사자들을 보내어 가로되 너희가 너희 주 사울에게 이처럼 은혜를 베풀어 장사하였으니 여호와께 복을 받을지어다
2:5 And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be all of you of the LORD, that all of you have showed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.
2:6 너희가 이 일을 하였으니 이제 여호와께서 은혜와 진리로 너희에게 베푸시기를 원하고 나도 이 선한 일을 너희에게 갚으리니
2:6 And now the LORD show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because all of you have done this thing.
2:7 이제 너희는 손을 강하게 하고 담대히 할지어다 너희 주 사울이 죽었고 또 유다 족속이 내게 기름을 부어 저희의 왕을 삼았음이니라
2:7 Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be all of you valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.
2:8 ○ 사울의 군장 넬의 아들 아브넬이 이미 사울의 아들 이스보셋을 데리고 마하나임으로 건너가서
2:8 But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;
2:9 길르앗과 아술과 이스르엘과 에브라임과 베냐민과 온 이스라엘의 왕을 삼았더라
2:9 And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
2:10 사울의 아들 이스보셋이 비로소 이스라엘 왕이 될 때에 나이 사십 세며 두 해 동안 위에 있으니라 유다 족속은 다윗을 따르니
2:10 Ishbosheth Saul's son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.
2:11 다윗이 헤브론에서 유다 족속의 왕이 된 날 수는 일곱 해 여섯 달 이더라
2:11 And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.
2:12 ○ 넬의 아들 아브넬과 사울의 아들 이스보셋의 신복들은 마하나임에서 나와서 기브온에 이르고
2:12 And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.
2:13 스루야의 아들 요압과 다윗의 신복들도 나와서 기브온 못 가에서 저희를 만나 앉으니 이는 못 이편이요 저는 못 저편이라
2:13 And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
2:14 아브넬이 요압에게 이르되 청컨대 소년들로 일어나서 우리 앞에서 장난하게 하자 요압이 가로되 일어나게 하자 하매
2:14 And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.
2:15 저희가 일어나 그 수효대로 나아가니 베냐민과 사울의 아들 이스보셋의 편에 열 둘이요 다윗의 신복 중에 열 둘이라
2:15 Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.
2:16 각기 적수의 머리를 잡고 칼로 적수의 옆구리를 찌르매 일제히 쓰러진지라 그러므로 그 곳을 헬갓핫수림이라 일컬었으며 기브온에 있더라
2:16 And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon.
2:17 그 날에 싸움이 심히 맹렬하더니 아브넬과 이스라엘 사람들이 다윗의 신복들 앞에서 패하니라
2:17 And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.
2:18 ○ 그 곳에 스루야의 세 아들 요압과 아비새와 아사헬이 있었는데 아사헬의 발은 들노루 같이 빠르더라
2:18 And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.
2:19 아사헬이 아브넬을 쫓아 달려가되 좌우로 치우치지 않고 아브넬의 뒤를 쫓으니
2:19 And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.
2:20 아브넬이 뒤를 돌아 보며 가로되 아사헬아 너냐 대답하되 내로라
2:20 Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Are you Asahel? And he answered, I am.
2:21 아브넬이 저에게 이르되 너는 좌편으로나 우편으로나 치우쳐서 소년 하나를 잡아 그 군복을 빼앗으라 하되 아사헬이 치우치기를 원치 않고 그 뒤를 쫓으매
2:21 And Abner said to him, Turn you aside to your right hand or to your left, and lay you hold on one of the young men, and take you his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.
2:22 아브넬이 다시 아사헬에게 이르되 너는 나 쫓기를 그치라 내가 너를 쳐서 땅에 엎드러지게 할 까닭이 무엇이냐 그렇게 하면 내가 어떻게 네 형 요압을 대면하겠느냐 하되
2:22 And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn you aside from following me: wherefore should I strike you to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab your brother?
2:23 저가 치우치기를 싫어하매 아브넬이 창 뒤 끝으로 그 배를 찌르니 창이 그 등을 꿰뚫고 나간지라 곧 그 곳에 엎드러져 죽으매 아사헬의 엎드러져 죽은 곳에 이르는 자마다 머물러 섰더라
2:23 Nevertheless he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear stroke him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.
2:24 ○ 요압과 아비새가 아브넬의 뒤를 쫓아 기브온 거친 땅의 길 가 기아 맞은편 암마 산에 이를 때에 해가 졌고
2:24 Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lies before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.
2:25 베냐민 족속은 함께 모여 아브넬을 따라 한 떼를 이루고 작은 산 꼭대기에 섰더라
2:25 And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.
2:26 아브넬이 요압에게 외쳐 가로되 칼이 영영히 사람을 상하겠느냐 마침내 참혹한 일이 생길 줄을 알지 못하느냐 네가 언제나 무리에게 그 형제 쫓기를 그치라 명하겠느냐
2:26 Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? know you not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, before you bid the people return from following their brethren?
2:27 요압이 가로되 하나님이 사시거니와 네가 흔단의 말을 내지 아니하였더면 무리가 아침에 다 돌아갔을 것이요 그 형제를 쫓지 아니하였으리라 하고
2:27 And Joab said, As God lives, unless you had spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.
2:28 나팔을 불매 온 무리가 머물러 서고 다시는 이스라엘을 쫓아가지 아니하고 다시는 싸우지도 아니하니라
2:28 So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.
2:29 아브넬과 그 종자들이 밤새도록 행하여 아라바를 지나 요단을 건너 비드론 온 땅을 지나 마하나임에 이르니라
2:29 And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.
2:30 ○ 요압이 아브넬 쫓기를 그치고 돌아와서 무리를 다 모으니 다윗의 신복 중에 십 구 인과 아사헬이 궐이 났으나
2:30 And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.
2:31 다윗의 신복들이 베냐민과 아브넬에게 속한 자들을 쳐서 삼백 육십 명을 죽였더라
2:31 But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner's men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.
2:32 무리가 아사헬을 베들레헴에 있는 그 아비 묘에 장사하고 요압과 그 종자들이 밤새도록 행하여 헤브론에 이를 때에 날이 밝았더라
2:32 And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.
3:1 사울의 집과 다윗의 집 사이에 전쟁이 오래매 다윗은 점점 강하여 가고 사울의 집은 점점 약하여 가니라
3:1 Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.
3:2 ○ 다윗이 헤브론에서 아들들을 낳았으되 맏아들은 암논이라 이스르엘 여인 아히노암의 소생이요
3:2 And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;
3:3 둘째는 길르압이라 갈멜 사람 나발의 아내 되었던 아비가일의 소생이요 세째는 압살롬이라 그술 왕 달매의 딸 마아가의 아들이요
3:3 And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
3:4 네째는 아도니야라 학깃의 아들이요 다섯째는 스바댜라 아비달의 아들이요
3:4 And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
3:5 여섯째는 이드르암이라 다윗의 아내 에글라의 소생이니 이는 다윗이 헤브론에서 낳은 자들이더라
3:5 And the sixth, Ithream, by Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.
3:6 ○ 사울의 집과 다윗의 집 사이에 전쟁이 있는 동안에 아브넬이 사울의 집에서 점점 권세를 잡으니라
3:6 And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.
3:7 사울에게 첩이 있었으니 이름은 리스바요 아야의 딸이더라 이스보셋이 아브넬에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 내 아버지의 첩을 통간하였느냐
3:7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ishbosheth said to Abner, Wherefore have you gone in unto my father's concubine?
3:8 아브넬이 이스보셋의 말을 매우 분히 여겨 가로되 내가 유다의 개 대강이뇨 내가 오늘날 당신의 아버지 사울의 집과 그 형제와 그 친구에게 은혜를 베풀어서 당신을 다윗의 손에 내어주지 아니하였거늘 당신이 오늘날 이 여인에게 관한 허물을 내게 돌리는도다
3:8 Then was Abner very angry for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do show kindness this day unto the house of Saul your father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David, that you charge me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
3:9 여호와께서 다윗에게 맹세하신 대로 내가 이루게 아니하면 하나님이 아브넬에게 벌 위에 벌을 내리심이 마땅하니라
3:9 So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD has sworn to David, even so I do to him;
3:10 그 맹세는 곧 이 나라를 사울의 집에서 다윗에게 옮겨서 그 위를 단에서 브엘세바까지 이스라엘과 유다에 세우리라 하신 것이니라 하매
3:10 To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.
3:11 이스보셋이 아브넬을 두려워하여 감히 한 말도 대답지 못하니라
3:11 And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.
3:12 ○ 아브넬이 자기를 대신하여 사자들을 다윗에게 보내어 가로되 이 땅이 뉘 것이니이까 또 가로되 당신은 나로 더불어 언약하사이다 내 손이 당신을 도와 온 이스라엘로 당신에게 돌아가게 하리이다
3:12 And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make your league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with you, to bring about all Israel unto you.
3:13 다윗이 가로되 좋다 내가 너와 언약하려니와 내가 네게 한 가지 일을 요구하노니 나를 보러 올 때에 위선 사울의 딸 미갈을 데리고 오라 그렇지 않으면 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리라 하고
3:13 And he said, Well; I will make a league with you: but one thing I require of you, that is, You shall not see my face, except you first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when you come to see my face.
3:14 사울의 아들 이스보셋에게 사자들을 보내어 이르되 내 처 미갈을 내게로 돌리라 저는 내가 전에 블레셋 사람의 양피 일백으로 정혼한 자니라
3:14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
3:15 이스보셋이 보내어 그 남편 라이스의 아들 발디엘에게서 취하매
3:15 And Ishbosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.
3:16 그 남편이 저와 함께 오되 울며 바후림까지 따라왔더니 아브넬이 저에게 돌아가라 하매 돌아가니라
3:16 And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.
3:17 ○ 아브넬이 이스라엘 장로들에게 말하여 가로되 너희가 여러 번 다윗으로 너희 임금 삼기를 구하였으니
3:17 And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, All of you sought for David in times past to be king over you:
3:18 이제 그대로 하라 여호와께서 이미 다윗에 대하여 말씀하시기를 내가 내 종 다윗의 손으로 내 백성 이스라엘을 구원하여 블레셋 사람의 손과 모든 대적의 손에서 벗어나게 하리라 하셨음이니라 하고
3:18 Now then do it: for the LORD has spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
3:19 아브넬이 또 베냐민 사람의 귀에 말하고 이스라엘과 베냐민의 온 집이 선히 여기는 모든 것을 다윗의 귀에 고하려고 헤브론으로 가니라
3:19 And Abner also spoke in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.
3:20 아브넬이 종자 이십 인으로 더불어 헤브론에 이르러 다윗에게 나아가니 다윗이 아브넬과 그 함께 한 사람을 위하여 잔치를 배설하였더라
3:20 So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.
3:21 아브넬이 다윗에게 고하되 내가 일어나 가서 온 이스라엘 무리를 내 주 왕의 앞에 모아 더불어 언약하게 하고 마음의 원하시는 대로 모든 것을 다스리시게 하리이다 이에 다윗이 아브넬을 보내매 저가 평안히 가니라
3:21 And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with you, and that you may reign over all that yours heart desires. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
3:22 ○ 다윗의 신복들과 요압이 적군을 치고 크게 노략한 물건을 가지고 돌아오니 아브넬은 이미 보냄을 받아 평안히 갔고 다윗과 함께 헤브론에 있지 아니한 때라
3:22 And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.
3:23 요압과 그 함께 한 모든 군사가 돌아오매 혹이 요압에게 고하여 가로되 넬의 아들 아브넬이 왕에게 왔더니 왕이 보내매 저가 평안히 갔나이다
3:23 When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he has sent him away, and he is gone in peace.
3:24 요압이 왕에게 나아가 가로되 어찌 하심이니이까 아브넬이 왕에게 나아왔거늘 어찌하여 저를 보내어 잘 가게 하셨나이까
3:24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What have you done? behold, Abner came unto you; why is it that you have sent him away, and he is quite gone?
3:25 왕도 아시려니와 넬의 아들 아브넬의 온 것은 왕을 속임이라 왕의 출입하는 것을 알고 모든 하시는 것을 알려 함이니이다 하고
3:25 You know Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do.
3:26 이에 다윗에게서 나와서 사자들을 보내어 아브넬을 쫓아가게 하였더니 시라 우물 가에서 저를 데리고 돌아왔으나 다윗은 알지 못하였더라
3:26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.
3:27 ○ 아브넬이 헤브론으로 돌아오매 요압이 더불어 종용히 말하려는 듯이 저를 데리고 성문으로 들어가서 거기서 배를 찔러 죽이니 이는 자기의 동생 아사헬의 피를 인함이더라
3:27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and stroke him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
3:28 그 후에 다윗이 듣고 이르되 넬의 아들 아브넬의 피에 대하여 나와 내 나라는 여호와 앞에 영원히 무죄하니
3:28 And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
3:29 그 죄가 요압의 머리와 그 아비의 온 집으로 돌아갈지어다 또 요압의 집에서 백탁병자나 문둥병자나 지팡이를 의지하는 자나 칼에 죽는 자나 양식이 핍절한 자가 끊어지지 아니할지로다 하니라
3:29 Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that has an issue, or that is a leper, or that leans on a staff, or that falls on the sword, or that lacks bread.
3:30 요압과 그 동생 아비새가 아브넬을 죽인 것은 저가 기브온 전쟁에서 자기 동생 아사헬을 죽인 까닭이었더라
3:30 So Joab, and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
3:31 ○ 다윗이 요압과 및 자기와 함께 있는 모든 백성에게 이르되 너희는 옷을 찢고 굵은 베를 띠고 아브넬 앞에서 애통하라 하니라 다윗 왕이 상여를 따라가서
3:31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.
3:32 아브넬을 헤브론에 장사하고 아브넬의 무덤에서 소리를 높여 울고 백성도 다 우니라
3:32 And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
3:33 왕이 아브넬을 위하여 애가를 지어 가로되 아브넬의 죽음이 어찌하여 미련한 자의 죽음 같은고
3:33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dies?
3:34 네 손이 결박되지 아니하였고 네 발이 착고에 채이지 아니하였거늘 불의한 자식의 앞에 엎드러짐 같이 네가 엎드러졌도다 하매 온 백성이 다시 그를 슬퍼하여 우니라
3:34 Your hands were not bound, nor your feet put into fetters: as a man falls before wicked men, so fell you. And all the people wept again over him.
3:35 석양에 뭇 백성이 나아와 다윗에게 음식을 권하니 다윗이 맹세하여 가로되 내가 해지기 전에 떡이나 다른 것을 맛보면 하나님이 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내리심이 마땅하니라 하매
3:35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat food while it was yet day, David swore, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
3:36 온 백성이 보고 기뻐하며 왕이 무슨 일을 하든지 무리가 다 기뻐하므로
3:36 And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.
3:37 이 날에야 온 백성과 온 이스라엘이 넬의 아들 아브넬을 죽인 것이 왕의 한 바가 아닌 줄을 아니라
3:37 For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.
3:38 왕이 그 신복에게 이르되 오늘 이스라엘의 방백이요 또는 대인이 죽은 것을 알지 못하느냐
3:38 And the king said unto his servants, Know all of you not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?
3:39 내가 기름 부음을 받은 왕이 되었으나 오늘날 약하여서 스루야의 아들인 이 사람들을 제어하기가 너무 어려우니 여호와는 악행한 자에게 그 악한 대로 갚으실지로다 하니라
3:39 And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.
4:1 사울의 아들 이스보셋이 아브넬의 헤브론에서 죽었다 함을 듣고 손 맥이 풀렸고 온 이스라엘이 놀라니라
4:1 And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.
4:2 사울의 아들 이스보셋에게 군장 두 사람이 있으니 하나의 이름은 바아나요 하나의 이름은 레갑이라 베냐민 족속 브에롯 사람 림몬의 아들들이더라 브에롯도 베냐민 지파에 속하였으니
4:2 And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin.
4:3 일찍 브에롯 사람들이 깃다임으로 도망하여 오늘까지 거기 우거함이더라
4:3 And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
4:4 ○ 사울의 아들 요나단에게 절뚝발이 아들 하나가 있으니 이름은 므비보셋이라 전에 사울과 요나단의 죽은 소식이 이스르엘에서 올 때에 그 나이 다섯 살이었는데 그 유모가 안고 도망하더니 급히 도망하므로 아이가 떨어져 절게 되었더라
4:4 And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
4:5 ○ 브에롯 사람 림몬의 아들 레갑과 바아나가 행하여 볕이 쬘 때 즈음에 이스보셋의 집에 이르니 마침 저가 낮잠을 자는지라
4:5 And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.
4:6 레갑과 그 형제 바아나가 밀을 가지러 온 체하고 집 가운데로 들어가서 그 배를 찌르고 도망하였더라
4:6 And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they stroke him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
4:7 저희가 집에 들어가니 이스보셋이 침실에서 상 위에 누웠는지라 저를 쳐죽이고 목을 베어 그 머리를 가지고 밤새도록 아라바 길로 행하여
4:7 For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they stroke him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and got them away through the plain all night.
4:8 헤브론에 이르러 다윗 왕에게 이스보셋의 머리를 드리며 고하되 왕의 생명을 해하려 하던 원수 사울의 아들 이스보셋의 머리가 여기 있나이다 여호와께서 오늘 우리 주 되신 왕의 원수를 사울과 그 자손에게 갚으셨나이다
4:8 And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul yours enemy, which sought your life; and the LORD has avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
4:9 다윗이 브레롯 사람 림몬의 아들 레갑과 그 형제 바아나에게 대답하여 가로되 내 생명을 여러 환난 가운데서 건지신 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니
4:9 And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
4:10 전에 사람이 내게 고하기를 사울이 죽었다 하며 좋은 소식을 전하는 줄로 생각하였어도 내가 저를 잡아 시글락에서 죽여서 그것으로 그 기별의 갚음을 삼았거든
4:10 When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
4:11 하물며 악인이 의인을 그 집 침상 위에서 죽인 것이겠느냐 그런즉 내가 저의 피흘린 죄를 너희에게 갚아서 너희를 이 땅에서 없이하지 아니하겠느냐 하고
4:11 How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
4:12 소년들을 명하매 곧 저희를 죽이고 수족을 베어 헤브론 못 가에 매어달고 이스보셋의 머리를 가져다가 헤브론에서 아브넬의 무덤에 장사하였더라
4:12 And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the tomb of Abner in Hebron.
5:1 이스라엘 모든 지파가 헤브론에 이르러 다윗에게 나아와 말하여 가로되 보소서 우리는 왕의 골육이니이다
5:1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
5:2 전일 곧 사울이 우리의 왕이 되었을 때에도 이스라엘을 거느려 출입하게 한 자는 왕이시었고 여호와께서도 왕에게 말씀하시기를 네가 내 백성 이스라엘의 목자가 되며 이스라엘의 주권자가 되리라 하셨나이다 하니라
5:2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: and the LORD said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be a captain over Israel.
5:3 이에 이스라엘 모든 장로가 헤브론에 이르러 왕에게 나아오매 다윗 왕이 헤브론에서 여호와 앞에서 저희와 언약을 세우매 저희가 다윗에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕을 삼으니라
5:3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
5:4 ○ 다윗이 삼십 세에 위에 나아가서 사십 년을 다스렸으되
5:4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5:5 헤브론에서 칠 년 육 개월 동안 유다를 다스렸고 예루살렘에서 삼십 삼 년 동안 온 이스라엘과 유다를 다스렸더라
5:5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
5:6 ○ 왕과 그 종자들이 예루살렘으로 가서 그 땅 거민 여부스 사람을 치려 하매 그 사람들이 다윗에게 말하여 가로되 네가 이리로 들어오지 못하리라 소경과 절뚝발이라도 너를 물리치리라 하니 저희 생각에는 다윗이 이리로 들어오지 못하리라 함이나
5:6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spoke unto David, saying, Except you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here: thinking, David cannot come in here.
5:7 다윗이 시온 산성을 빼앗았으니 이는 다윗 성이더라
5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.
5:8 그 날에 다윗이 이르기를 누구든지 여부스 사람을 치거든 수구로 올라가서 다윗의 마음에 미워하는 절뚝발이와 소경을 치라 하였으므로 속담이 되어 이르기를 소경과 절뚝발이는 집에 들어오지 못하리라 하더라
5:8 And David said on that day, Whosoever gets up to the watercourse, and strikes the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
5:9 다윗이 그 산성에 거하여 다윗 성이라 이름하고 밀로에서부터 안으로 성을 둘러 쌓으니라
5:9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
5:10 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 함께 계시니 다윗이 점점 강성하여 가니라
5:10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.
5:11 ○ 두로 왕 히람이 다윗에게 사자들과 백향목과 목수와 석수를 보내매 저희가 다윗을 위하여 집을 지으니
5:11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and stone workers: and they built David an house.
5:12 다윗이 여호와께서 자기를 세우사 이스라엘 왕을 삼으신 것과 그 백성 이스라엘을 위하여 그 나라를 높이신 것을 아니라
5:12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
5:13 ○ 다윗이 헤브론에서 올라온 후에 예루살렘에서 처첩들을 더 취하였으므로 아들과 딸들이 또 다윗에게서 나니
5:13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
5:14 예루살렘에서 그에게서 난 자의 이름은 삼무아와 소밥과 나단과 솔로몬과
5:14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
5:15 입할과 엘리수아와 네벡과 야비아와
5:15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
5:16 엘리사마와 엘랴다와 엘리벨렛이었더라
5:16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
5:17 ○ 이스라엘이 다윗에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕을 삼았다 함을 블레셋 사람이 듣고 다윗을 찾으러 다 올라오매 다윗이 듣고 요해처로 나가니라
5:17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
5:18 블레셋 사람이 이미 이르러 르바임 골짜기에 편만한지라
5:18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
5:19 다윗이 여호와께 물어 가로되 내가 블레셋 사람에게로 올라가리이까 여호와께서 저희를 내 손에 붙이시겠나이까 여호와께서 다윗에게 말씀하시되 올라가라 내가 단정코 블레셋 사람을 네 손에 붙이리라 하신지라
5:19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? will you deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into yours hand.
5:20 다윗이 바알브라심에 이르러 거기서 저희를 치고 가로되 여호와께서 물을 흩음 같이 내 앞에서 내 대적을 흩으셨다 하므로 그 곳 이름을 바알브라심이라 칭하니라
5:20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David stroke them there, and said, The LORD has broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.
5:21 거기서 블레셋 사람들이 그 우상을 버렸으므로 다윗과 그 종자들이 치우니라
5:21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
5:22 ○ 블레셋 사람이 다시 올라와서 르바임 골짜기에 편만한지라
5:22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
5:23 다윗이 여호와께 묻자온대 가라사대 올라가지 말고 저희 뒤로 돌아서 뽕나무 수풀 맞은편에서 저희를 엄습하되
5:23 And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, You shall not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry trees.
5:24 뽕나무 꼭대기에서 걸음 걷는 소리가 들리거든 곧 동작하라 그 때에 여호와가 네 앞서 나아가서 블레셋 군대를 치리라 하신지라
5:24 And let it be, when you hear the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall bestir yourself: for then shall the LORD go out before you, to strike the host of the Philistines.
5:25 이에 다윗이 여호와의 명대로 행하여 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 게바에서 게셀까지 이르니라
5:25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and stroke the Philistines from Geba until you come to Gazer.
6:1 다윗이 이스라엘에서 뺀 무리 삼만을 다시 모으고
6:1 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
6:2 일어나서 그 함께 있는 모든 사람으로 더불어 바알레유다로 가서 거기서 하나님의 궤를 메어 오려 하니 그 궤는 그룹들 사이에 좌정하신 만군의 여호와의 이름으로 이름하는 것이라
6:2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwells between the cherubims.
6:3 저희가 하나님의 궤를 새 수레에 싣고 산에 있는 아비나답의 집에서 나오는데 아비나답의 아들 웃사와 아효가 그 새 수레를 모니라
6:3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.
6:4 저희가 산에 있는 아비나답의 집에서 하나님의 궤를 싣고 나올 때에 아효는 궤 앞에서 행하고
6:4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
6:5 다윗과 이스라엘 온 족속이 잣나무로 만든 여러 가지 악기와 수금과 비파와 소고와 양금과 제금으로 여호와 앞에서 주악하더라
6:5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
6:6 ○ 저희가 나곤의 타작 마당에 이르러서는 소들이 뛰므로 웃사가 손을 들어 하나님의 궤를 붙들었더니
6:6 And when they came to Nachon's threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
6:7 여호와 하나님이 웃사의 잘못함을 인하여 진노하사 저를 그 곳에서 치시니 저가 거기 하나님의 궤 곁에서 죽으니라
6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God stroke him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
6:8 여호와께서 웃사를 충돌하시므로 다윗이 분하여 그 곳을 베레스웃사라 칭하니 그 이름이 오늘까지 이르니라
6:8 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
6:9 다윗이 그 날에 여호와를 두려워하여 가로되 여호와의 궤가 어찌 내게로 오리요 하고
6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
6:10 여호와의 궤를 옮겨 다윗 성 자기에게로 메어 가기를 즐겨하지 아니하고 치우쳐 가드 사람 오벧에돔의 집으로 메어 간지라
6:10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
6:11 여호와의 궤가 가드 사람 오벧에돔의 집에 석 달을 있었는데 여호와께서 오벧에돔과 그 온 집에 복을 주시니라
6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.
6:12 ○ 혹이 다윗 왕에게 고하여 가로되 여호와께서 하나님의 궤를 인하여 오벧에돔의 집과 그 모든 소유에 복을 주셨다 한지라 다윗이 가서 하나님의 궤를 기쁨으로 메고 오벧에돔의 집에서 다윗 성으로 올라갈새
6:12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertains unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
6:13 여호와의 궤를 멘 사람들이 여섯 걸음을 행하매 다윗이 소와 살진 것으로 제사를 드리고
6:13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.
6:14 여호와 앞에서 힘을 다하여 춤을 추는데 때에 베 에봇을 입었더라
6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
6:15 다윗과 온 이스라엘 족속이 즐거이 부르며 나팔을 불고 여호와의 궤를 메어 오니라
6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
6:16 ○ 여호와의 궤가 다윗 성으로 들어올 때에 사울의 딸 미갈이 창으로 내다보다가 다윗 왕이 여호와 앞에서 뛰놀며 춤추는 것을 보고 심중에 저를 업신여기니라
6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
6:17 여호와의 궤를 메고 들어가서 다윗이 위하여 친 장막 가운데 그 예비한 자리에 두매 다윗이 번제와 화목제를 여호와 앞에 드리니라
6:17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
6:18 다윗이 번제와 화목제 드리기를 마치고 만군의 여호와의 이름으로 백성에게 축복하고
6:18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
6:19 모든 백성 곧 온 이스라엘 무리의 무론 남녀하고 떡 한 개와 고기 한 조각과 건포도 떡 한 덩이씩 나눠 주매 모든 백성이 각기 집으로 돌아가니라
6:19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
6:20 ○ 다윗이 자기의 가족에게 축복하러 돌아오매 사울의 딸 미갈이 나와서 다윗을 맞으며 가로되 이스라엘 왕이 오늘날 어떻게 영화로우신지 방탕한 자가 염치 없이 자기의 몸을 드러내는 것처럼 오늘날 그 신복의 계집종의 눈 앞에서 몸을 드러내셨도다
6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!
6:21 다윗이 미갈에게 이르되 이는 여호와 앞에서 한 것이니라 저가 네 아비와 그 온 집을 버리시고 나를 택하사 나로 여호와의 백성 이스라엘의 주권자를 삼으셨으니 내가 여호와 앞에서 뛰놀리라
6:21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before your father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
6:22 내가 이보다 더 낮아져서 스스로 천하게 보일지라도 네가 말한 바 계집종에게는 내가 높임을 받으리라 한지라
6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which you have spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
6:23 그러므로 사울의 딸 미갈이 죽는 날까지 자식이 없으니라
6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
7:1 여호와께서 사방의 모든 대적을 파하사 왕으로 궁에 평안히 거하게 하신 때에
7:1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
7:2 왕이 선지자 나단에게 이르되 볼지어다 나는 백향목 궁에 거하거늘 하나님의 궤는 휘장 가운데 있도다
7:2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.
7:3 나단이 왕께 고하되 여호와께서 왕과 함께 계시니 무릇 마음에 있는 바를 행하소서
7:3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in yours heart; for the LORD is with you.
7:4 그 밤에 여호와의 말씀이 나단에게 임하여 가라사대
7:4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
7:5 가서 내 종 다윗에게 말하기를 여호와의 말씀이 네가 나를 위하여 나의 거할 집을 건축하겠느냐
7:5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me an house for me to dwell in?
7:6 내가 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서 인도하여 내던 날부터 오늘날까지 집에 거하지 아니하고 장막과 회막에 거하며 행하였나니
7:6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7:7 무릇 이스라엘 자손으로 더불어 행하는 곳에서 내가 내 백성 이스라엘을 먹이라고 명한 이스라엘 어느 지파에게 내가 말하기를 너희가 어찌하여 나를 위하여 백향목 집을 건축하지 아니하였느냐고 말하였느냐
7:7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build all of you not me an house of cedar?
7:8 그러므로 이제 내 종 다윗에게 이처럼 말하라 만군의 여호와께서 이처럼 말씀하시기를 내가 너를 목장 곧 양을 따르는 데서 취하여 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자를 삼고
7:8 Now therefore so shall you say unto my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
7:9 네가 어디를 가든지 내가 너와 함께 있어 네 모든 대적을 네 앞에서 멸하였은즉 세상에서 존귀한 자의 이름 같이 네 이름을 존귀케 만들어 주리라
7:9 And I was with you anywhere you went, and have cut off all yours enemies out of your sight, and have made you a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
7:10 내가 또 내 백성 이스라엘을 위하여 한 곳을 정하여 저희를 심고 저희로 자기 곳에 거하여 다시 옮기지 않게 하며 악한 유로 전과 같이 저희를 해하지 못하게 하여
7:10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as in time past,
7:11 전에 내가 사사를 명하여 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스리던 때와 같지 않게 하고 너를 모든 대적에게서 벗어나 평안케 하리라 여호와가 또 네게 이르노니 여호와가 너를 위하여 집을 이루고
7:11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all yours enemies. Also the LORD tells you that he will make you an house.
7:12 네 수한이 차서 네 조상들과 함께 잘 때에 내가 네 몸에서 날 자식을 네 뒤에 세워 그 나라를 견고케 하리라
7:12 And when your days be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, which shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
7:13 저는 내 이름을 위하여 집을 건축할 것이요 나는 그 나라 위를 영원히 견고케 하리라
7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
7:14 나는 그 아비가 되고 그는 내 아들이 되리니 저가 만일 죄를 범하면 내가 사람 막대기와 인생 채찍으로 징계하려니와
7:14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
7:15 내가 네 앞에서 폐한 사울에게서 내 은총을 빼앗은 것 같이 그에게서는 빼앗지 아니하리라
7:15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.
7:16 네 집과 네 나라가 네 앞에서 영원히 보전되고 네 위가 영원히 견고하리라 하셨다 하라
7:16 And yours house and your kingdom shall be established for ever before you: your throne shall be established for ever.
7:17 나단이 이 모든 말씀과 이 모든 묵시대로 다윗에게 고하니라
7:17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
7:18 ○ 다윗 왕이 여호와 앞에 들어가 앉아서 가로되 주 여호와여 나는 누구오며 내 집은 무엇이관대 나로 이에 이르게 하셨나이까
7:18 Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that you have brought me until now?
7:19 주 여호와여 주께서 이것을 오히려 적게 여기시고 또 종의 집에 영구히 이를 일을 말씀하실 뿐 아니라 주 여호와여 인간의 규례대로 하셨나이다
7:19 And this was yet a small thing in your sight, O Lord GOD; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?
7:20 주 여호와는 종을 아시오니 다윗이 다시 주께 무슨 말씀을 하오리이까
7:20 And what can David say more unto you? for you, Lord GOD, know your servant.
7:21 주의 말씀을 인하여 주의 뜻대로 이 모든 큰 일을 행하사 주의 종에게 알게 하셨나이다
7:21 For your word's sake, and according to yours own heart, have you done all these great things, to make your servant know them.
7:22 여호와 하나님이여 이러므로 주는 광대하시니 이는 우리 귀로 들은 대로는 주와 같은 이가 없고 주 외에는 참 신이 없음이니이다
7:22 Wherefore you are great, O LORD God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
7:23 땅의 어느 한 나라가 주의 백성 이스라엘과 같으리이까 하나님이 가서 구속하사 자기 백성을 삼아 주의 명성을 내시며 저희를 위하여 큰 일을, 주의 땅을 위하여 두려운 일을 애굽과 열국과 그 신들에게서 구속하신 백성 앞에서 행하셨사오며
7:23 And what one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for your land, before your people, which you redeemed to you from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
7:24 주께서 주의 백성 이스라엘을 세우사 영원히 주의 백성을 삼으셨사오니 여호와여 주께서 저희 하나님이 되셨나이다
7:24 For you have confirmed to yourself your people Israel to be a people unto you for ever: and you, LORD, are become their God.
7:25 여호와 하나님이여 이제 주의 종과 종의 집에 대하여 말씀하신 것을 영원히 확실케 하옵시며 말씀하신 대로 행하사
7:25 And now, O LORD God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as you have said.
7:26 사람으로 영원히 주의 이름을 높여 이르기를 만군의 여호와는 이스라엘의 하나님이라 하게 하옵시며 주의 종 다윗의 집으로 주 앞에 견고하게 하옵소서
7:26 And let your name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of your servant David be established before you.
7:27 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이여 주의 종에게 알게 하여 이르시기를 내가 너를 위하여 집을 세우리라 하신 고로 주의 종이 이 기도로 구할 마음이 생겼나이다
7:27 For you, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, I will build you an house: therefore has your servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto you.
7:28 주 여호와여 오직 주는 하나님이시며 말씀이 참되시니이다 주께서 이 좋은 것으로 종에게 허락하셨사오니
7:28 And now, O Lord GOD, you are that God, and your words be true, and you have promised this goodness unto your servant:
7:29 이제 청컨대 종의 집에 복을 주사 주 앞에 영원히 있게 하옵소서 주 여호와께서 말씀하셨사오니 주의 은혜로 종의 집이 영원히 복을 받게 하옵소서 하니라
7:29 Therefore now let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue for ever before you: for you, O Lord GOD, have spoken it: and with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed for ever.
8:1 이 후에 다윗이 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 항복 받고 블레셋 사람의 손에서 메덱암마를 빼앗으니라
8:1 And after this it came to pass that David stroke the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
8:2 ○ 다윗이 또 모압을 쳐서 저희로 땅에 엎드리게 하고 줄로 재어 그 두 줄 길이의 사람은 죽이고 한 줄 길이의 사람은 살리니 모압 사람이 다윗의 종이 되어 조공을 바치니라
8:2 And he stroke Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
8:3 ○ 르흡의 아들 소바 왕 하닷에셀이 자기 권세를 회복하려고 유브라데 강으로 갈 때에 다윗이 저를 쳐서
8:3 David stroke also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
8:4 그 마병 일천 칠백과 보병 이만을 사로잡고 병거 일백 승의 말만 남기고 그 외의 병거의 말은 다 발의 힘줄을 끊었더니
8:4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David cut the hamstrings of all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
8:5 다메섹 아람 사람들이 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 도우러 온지라 다윗이 아람 사람 이만 이천을 죽이고
8:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
8:6 다메섹 아람에 수비대를 두매 아람 사람이 다윗의 종이 되어 조공을 바치니라 다윗이 어디를 가든지 여호와께서 이기게 하시니라
8:6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David anywhere he went.
8:7 다윗이 하닷에셀의 신복들의 가진 금 방패를 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져오고
8:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8:8 또 하닷에셀의 고을 베다와 베로대에서 매우 많은 놋을 빼앗으니라
8:8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
8:9 ○ 하맛 왕 도이가 다윗이 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳐서 파하였다 함을 듣고
8:9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
8:10 그 아들 요람을 보내어 다윗 왕에게 문안하고 축복하게 하니 이는 하닷에셀이 도이로 더불어 전쟁이 있던 터에 다윗이 하닷에셀을 쳐서 파함이라 요람이 은 그릇과 금 그릇과 놋 그릇을 가지고 온지라
8:10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
8:11 다윗 왕이 그것도 여호와께 드리되 저가 정복한 모든 나라에서 얻은 은금
8:11 Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
8:12 곧 아람과 모압과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람과 아말렉에게서 얻은 것들과 소바 왕 르홉의 아들 하닷에셀에게서 노략한 것과 같이 드리니라
8:12 Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
8:13 ○ 다윗이 염곡에서 에돔 사람 일만 팔천을 쳐죽이고 돌아와서 명예를 얻으니라
8:13 And David got him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
8:14 다윗이 에돔에 수비대를 두되 온 에돔에 수비대를 두니 에돔 사람이 다 다윗의 종이 되니라 다윗이 어디를 가든지 여호와께서 이기게 하셨더라
8:14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David anywhere he went.
8:15 ○ 다윗이 온 이스라엘을 다스려 모든 백성에게 공과 의를 행할새
8:15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
8:16 스루야의 아들 요압은 군대 장관이 되고 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이 되고
8:16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
8:17 아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장이 되고 스라야는 서기관이 되고
8:17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
8:18 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 관할하고 다윗의 아들들은 대신이 되니라
8:18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
9:1 다윗이 가로되 사울의 집에 오히려 남은 사람이 있느냐 내가 요나단을 인하여 그 사람에게 은총을 베풀리라 하니라
9:1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
9:2 사울의 종 하나가 있으니 그 이름은 시바라 저를 다윗의 앞으로 부르매 왕이 저에게 묻되 네가 시바냐 가로되 종이 그로소이다
9:2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Are you Ziba? And he said, Your servant is he.
9:3 왕이 가로되 사울의 집에 남은 사람이 없느냐 내가 그 사람에게 하나님의 은총을 베풀고자 하노라 시바가 왕께 고하되 요나단의 아들 하나가 있는데 절뚝발이니이다
9:3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan has yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
9:4 왕이 저에게 묻되 그가 어디 있느냐 시바가 왕에게 고하되 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있나이다
9:4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
9:5 다윗 왕이 사람을 보내어 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 저를 데려오니
9:5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
9:6 사울의 손자 요나단의 아들 므비보셋이 다윗에게 나아와서 엎드려 절하매 다윗이 가로되 므비보셋이여 하니 대답하되 주의 종이 여기 있나이다
9:6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold your servant!
9:7 다윗이 가로되 무서워 말라 내가 반드시 네 아비 요나단을 인하여 네게 은총을 베풀리라 내가 네 조부 사울의 밭을 다 네게 도로 주겠고 또 너는 항상 내 상에서 먹을지니라
9:7 And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.
9:8 저가 절하여 가로되 이 종이 무엇이관대 왕께서 죽은 개 같은 나를 돌아보시나이까
9:8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9:9 ○ 왕이 사울의 사환 시바를 불러서 이르되 사울과 그 온 집에 속한 것은 내가 다 네 주인의 아들에게 주었노니
9:9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto your master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
9:10 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 저를 위하여 밭을 갈고 거두어 네 주인의 아들을 공궤하라 그러나 네 주인의 아들 므비보셋은 항상 내 상에서 먹으리라 하니라 시바는 아들이 열 다섯이요 종이 스물이라
9:10 You therefore, and your sons, and your servants, shall till the land for him, and you shall bring in the fruits, that your master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth your master's son shall eat bread always at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
9:11 시바가 왕께 고하되 내 주 왕께서 온갖 일을 종에게 명하신 대로 종이 준행하겠나이다 하니라 므비보셋은 왕자 중 하나처럼 왕의 상에서 먹으니라
9:11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so shall your servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
9:12 므비보셋에게 젊은 아들 하나가 있으니 이름은 미가더라 무릇 시바의 집에 거하는 자들은 므비보셋의 종이 되니라
9:12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
9:13 므비보셋이 항상 왕의 상에서 먹으므로 예루살렘에 거하니라 그는 두 발이 다 절뚝이더라
9:13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
10:1 그 후에 암몬 자손의 왕이 죽고 그 아들 하눈이 대신하여 왕이 되니
10:1 And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his position.
10:2 다윗이 가로되 내가 나하스의 아들 하눈에게 은총을 베풀되 그 아비가 내게 은총을 베푼 것 같이 하리라 하고 그 신복들을 명하여 그 아비 죽은 것을 조상하라 하니라 다윗의 신복들이 암몬 자손의 땅에 이르매
10:2 Then said David, I will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.
10:3 암몬 자손의 방백들이 그 주 하눈에게 고하되 왕은 다윗이 조객을 보낸 것이 왕의 부친을 공경함인 줄로 여기시나이까 다윗이 그 신복을 보내어 이 성을 엿보고 탐지하여 함락시키고자 함이 아니니이까
10:3 And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Think you that David does honour your father, that he has sent comforters unto you? has not David rather sent his servants unto you, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?
10:4 이에 하눈이 다윗의 신복들을 잡아 그 수염 절반을 깎고 그 의복의 중동 볼기까지 자르고 돌려보내매
10:4 Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.
10:5 혹이 이 일을 다윗에게 고하니라 그 사람들이 크게 부끄러워하므로 왕이 저희를 맞으러 보내어 이르기를 너희는 수염이 자라기까지 여리고에서 머물다가 돌아오라 하니라
10:5 When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
10:6 ○ 암몬 자손이 자기가 다윗에게 미움이 된 줄 알고 사람을 보내어 벧르홉 아람 사람과 소바 아람 사람의 보병 이만과 마아가 왕과 그 사람 일천과 돕 사람 일만 이천을 고용한지라
10:6 And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.
10:7 다윗이 듣고 요압과 용사의 온 무리를 보내매
10:7 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.
10:8 암몬 자손은 나와서 성문 어귀에 진을 쳤고 소바와 르홉 아람 사람과 돕과 마아가 사람들은 따로 들에 있더라
10:8 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.
10:9 ○ 요압이 앞 뒤에 친 적진을 보고 이스라엘의 뺀 자 중에서 또 빼서 아람 사람을 대하여 진 치고
10:9 When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:
10:10 그 남은 무리는 그 아우 아비새의 수하에 붙여 암몬 자손을 대하여 진 치게 하고
10:10 And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.
10:11 가로되 만일 아람 사람이 나보다 강하면 네가 나를 돕고 만일 암몬 자손이 너보다 강하면 내가 가서 너를 도우리라
10:11 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then you shall help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for you, then I will come and help you.
10:12 너는 담대하라 우리가 우리 백성과 우리 하나님의 성읍들을 위하여 담대히 하자 여호와께서 선히 여기시는 대로 행하시기를 원하노라 하고
10:12 Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seems him good.
10:13 요압과 그 종자가 아람 사람을 향하여 싸우려고 나아가니 저희가 그 앞에서 도망하고
10:13 And Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.
10:14 암몬 자손은 아람 사람의 도망함을 보고 저희도 아비새 앞에서 도망하여 성으로 들어간지라 요압이 암몬 자손을 떠나 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라
10:14 And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
10:15 ○ 아람 사람이 자기가 이스라엘 앞에서 패하였음을 보고 다 모이매
10:15 And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.
10:16 하닷에셀이 사람을 보내어 강 건너편에 있는 아람 사람을 불러 내매 저희가 헬람에 이르니 하닷에셀의 군대 장관 소박이 저희를 거느린지라
10:16 And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.
10:17 혹이 다윗에게 고하매 저가 온 이스라엘을 모으고 요단을 건너 헬람에 이르매 아람 사람들이 다윗을 향하여 진을 치고 더불어 싸우더니
10:17 And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.
10:18 아람 사람이 이스라엘 앞에서 도망한지라 다윗이 아람 병거 칠백 승의 사람과 마병 사만을 죽이고 또 그 군대 장관 소박을 치매 거기서 죽으니라
10:18 And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and stroke Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.
10:19 하닷에셀에게 속한 왕들이 자기가 이스라엘 앞에서 패함을 보고 이스라엘과 화친하고 섬기니 이러므로 아람 사람들이 두려워하여 다시는 암몬 자손을 돕지 아니하니라
10:19 And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.
11:1 해가 돌아와서 왕들의 출전할 때가 되매 다윗이 요압과 그 신복과 온 이스라엘 군대를 보내니 저희가 암몬 자손을 멸하고 랍바를 에워쌌고 다윗은 예루살렘에 그대로 있으니라
11:1 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
11:2 ○ 저녁 때에 다윗이 그 침상에서 일어나 왕궁 지붕 위에서 거닐다가 그 곳에서 보니 한 여인이 목욕을 하는데 심히 아름다와 보이는지라
11:2 And it came to pass in an evening-time, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
11:3 다윗이 보내어 그 여인을 알아보게 하였더니 고하되 그는 엘리암의 딸이요 헷 사람 우리아의 아내 밧세바가 아니니이까
11:3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
11:4 다윗이 사자를 보내어 저를 자기에게로 데려오게 하고 저가 그 부정함을 깨끗케 하였으므로 더불어 동침하매 저가 자기 집으로 돌아가니라
11:4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
11:5 여인이 잉태하매 보내어 다윗에게 고하여 가로되 내가 잉태하였나이다 하니라
11:5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
11:6 ○ 다윗이 요압에게 기별하여 헷 사람 우리아를 내게 보내라 하매 요압이 우리아를 다윗에게로 보내니
11:6 And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.
11:7 우리아가 다윗에게 이르매 다윗이 요압의 안부와 군사의 안부와 싸움의 어떠한 것을 묻고
11:7 And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.
11:8 저가 또 우리아에게 이르되 네 집으로 내려가서 발을 씻으라 하니 우리아가 왕궁에서 나가매 왕의 식물이 뒤따라 가니라
11:8 And David said to Uriah, Go down to your house, and wash your feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a portion of food from the king.
11:9 그러나 우리아는 집으로 내려가지 아니하고 왕궁 문에서 그 주의 신복들로 더불어 잔지라
11:9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.
11:10 혹이 다윗에게 고하여 가로되 우리아가 그 집으로 내려가지 아니하였나이다 다윗이 우리아에게 이르되 네가 길 갔다가 돌아온 것이 아니냐 어찌하여 네 집으로 내려가지 아니하였느냐
11:10 And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Came you not from your journey? why then did you not go down unto yours house?
11:11 우리아가 다윗에게 고하되 언약궤와 이스라엘과 유다가 영채 가운데 유하고 내 주 요압과 내 왕의 신복들이 바깥 들에 유진하였거늘 내가 어찌 내 집으로 가서 먹고 마시고 내 처와 같이 자리이까 내가 이 일을 행치 아니하기로 왕의 사심과 왕의 혼의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하나이다
11:11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.
11:12 다윗이 우리아에게 이르되 오늘도 여기 있으라 내일은 내가 너를 보내리라 우리아가 그 날에 예루살렘에 유하니라 이튿날
11:12 And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and tomorrow I will let you depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the next day.
11:13 다윗이 저를 불러서 저로 그 앞에서 먹고 마시고 취하게 하니 저녁 때에 저가 나가서 그 주의 신복으로 더불어 침상에 눕고 그 집으로 내려가지 아니하니라
11:13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
11:14 ○ 아침이 되매 다윗이 편지를 써서 우리아의 손에 부쳐 요압에게 보내니
11:14 And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
11:15 그 편지에 써서 이르기를 너희가 우리아를 맹렬한 싸움에 앞세워 두고 너희는 뒤로 물러가서 저로 맞아 죽게 하라 하였더라
11:15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set all of you Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire all of you from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
11:16 요압이 그 성을 살펴 용사들의 있는 줄을 아는 그 곳에 우리아를 두니
11:16 And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.
11:17 성 사람들이 나와서 요압으로 더불어 싸울 때에 다윗의 신복 중 몇 사람이 엎드러지고 헷 사람 우리아도 죽으니라
11:17 And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
11:18 요압이 보내어 전쟁의 모든 일을 다윗에게 고할새
11:18 Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
11:19 그 사자에게 명하여 가로되 전쟁의 모든 일을 네가 왕께 고하기를 마친 후에
11:19 And charged the messenger, saying, When you have made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
11:20 혹시 왕이 노하여 네게 말씀하기를 너희가 어찌하여 성에 그처럼 가까이 가서 싸웠느냐 저희가 성 위에서 쏠 줄을 알지 못하였느냐
11:20 And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto you, Wherefore approached all of you so nigh unto the city when all of you did fight? knew all of you not that they would shoot from the wall?
11:21 여룹베셋의 아들 아비멜렉을 쳐죽인 자가 누구냐 여인 하나가 성에서 맷돌 윗짝을 그 위에 던지매 저가 데벳스에서 죽지 아니하였느냐 어찌하여 성에 가까이 갔더냐 하시거든 네가 말하기를 왕의 종 헷 사람 우리아도 죽었나이다 하라
11:21 Who stroke Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went all of you nigh the wall? then say you, Your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
11:22 ○ 사자가 가서 다윗에게 이르러 요압의 모든 보낸 일을 고하여
11:22 So the messenger went, and came and showed David all that Joab had sent him for.
11:23 가로되 그 사람들이 우리보다 승하여 우리를 향하여 들로 나온 고로 우리가 저희를 쳐서 성문 어귀까지 미쳤더니
11:23 And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.
11:24 활 쏘는 자들이 성 위에서 왕의 신복들을 향하여 쏘매 왕의 신복 중 몇 사람이 죽고 왕의 종 헷 사람 우리아도 죽었나이다
11:24 And the shooters shot from off the wall upon your servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
11:25 다윗이 사자에게 이르되 너는 요압에게 이같이 말하기를 이 일로 걱정하지 말라 칼은 이 사람이나 저 사람이나 죽이느니라 그 성을 향하여 더욱 힘써 싸워 함락시키라 하여 너는 저를 담대케 하라 하니라
11:25 Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shall you say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease you, for the sword devours one as well as another: make your battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage you him.
11:26 ○ 우리아의 처가 그 남편 우리아의 죽었음을 듣고 호곡하니라
11:26 And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.
11:27 그 장사를 마치매 다윗이 보내어 저를 궁으로 데려오니 저가 그 처가 되어 아들을 낳으니라 다윗의 소위가 여호와 보시기에 악하였더라
11:27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
12:1 여호와께서 나단을 다윗에게 보내시니 와서 저에게 이르되 한 성에 두 사람이 있는데 하나는 부하고 하나는 가난하니
12:1 And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
12:2 그 부한 자는 양과 소가 심히 많으나
12:2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
12:3 가난한 자는 아무 것도 없고 자기가 사서 기르는 작은 암양 새끼 하나 뿐이라 그 암양 새끼는 저와 저의 자식과 함께 있어 자라며 저의 먹는 것을 먹으며 저의 잔에서 마시며 저의 품에 누우므로 저에게는 딸처럼 되었거늘
12:3 But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own food, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
12:4 어떤 행인이 그 부자에게 오매 부자가 자기의 양과 소를 아껴 자기에게 온 행인을 위하여 잡지 아니하고 가난한 사람의 양 새끼를 빼앗아다가 자기에게 온 사람을 위하여 잡았나이다
12:4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the travelling man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
12:5 다윗이 그 사람을 크게 노하여 나단에게 이르되 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 이 일을 행한 사람은 마땅히 죽을 자라
12:5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD lives, the man that has done this thing shall surely die:
12:6 저가 불쌍히 여기지 않고 이 일을 행하였으니 그 양 새끼를 사배나 갚아 주어야 하리라
12:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
12:7 ○ 나단이 다윗에게 이르되 당신이 그 사람이라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이처럼 이르시기를 내가 너로 이스라엘 왕을 삼기 위하여 네게 기름을 붓고 너를 사울의 손에서 구원하고
12:7 And Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul;
12:8 네 주인의 집을 네게 주고 네 주인의 처들을 네 품에 두고 이스라엘과 유다 족속을 네게 맡겼느니라 만일 그것이 부족하였을 것 같으면 내가 네게 이것 저것을 더 주었으리라
12:8 And I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto you such and such things.
12:9 그러한데 어찌하여 네가 여호와의 말씀을 업신여기고 나 보기에 악을 행하였느뇨 네가 칼로 헷 사람 우리아를 죽이되 암몬 자손의 칼로 죽이고 그 처를 빼앗아 네 처를 삼았도다
12:9 Wherefore have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? you have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
12:10 이제 네가 나를 업신여기고 헷 사람 우리아의 처를 빼앗아 네 처를 삼았은즉 칼이 네 집에 영영히 떠나지 아니하리라 하셨고
12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from yours house; because you have despised me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.
12:11 여호와께서 또 이처럼 이르시기를 내가 네 집에 재화를 일으키고 내가 네 처들을 가져 네 눈 앞에서 다른 사람에게 주리니 그 사람이 네 처들로 더불어 백주에 동침하리라
12:11 Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of yours own house, and I will take your wives before yours eyes, and give them unto your neighbour, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.
12:12 너는 은밀히 행하였으나 나는 이스라엘 무리 앞 백주에 이 일을 행하리라 하셨나이다
12:12 For you did it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
12:13 다윗이 나단에게 이르되 내가 여호와께 죄를 범하였노라 하매 나단이 다윗에게 대답하되 여호와께서도 당신의 죄를 사하셨나니 당신이 죽지 아니하려니와
12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
12:14 이 일로 인하여 여호와의 원수로 크게 훼방할 거리를 얻게 하였으니 당신의 낳은 아이가 정녕 죽으리이다 하고
12:14 Nevertheless, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto you shall surely die.
12:15 나단이 자기 집으로 돌아가니라 ○ 우리아의 처가 다윗에게 낳은 아이를 여호와께서 치시매 심히 앓는지라
12:15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
12:16 다윗이 그 아이를 위하여 하나님께 간구하되 금식하고 안에 들어가서 밤새도록 땅에 엎드렸으니
12:16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
12:17 그 집의 늙은 자들이 곁에 이르러 다윗을 일으키려 하되 왕이 듣지 아니하고 저희로 더불어 먹지도 아니하더라
12:17 And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
12:18 이레 만에 그 아이가 죽으니라 그러나 다윗의 신복들이 아이의 죽은 것을 왕에게 고하기를 두려워하니 이는 저희가 말하기를 아이가 살았을 때에 우리가 말하여도 왕이 그 말을 듣지 아니하셨나니 어떻게 그 아이의 죽은 것을 고할 수 있으랴 왕이 훼상하시리로다 함이라
12:18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
12:19 다윗이 그 신복들의 서로 수군거리는 것을 보고 그 아이가 죽은 줄을 깨닫고 그 신복들에게 묻되 아이가 죽었느냐 대답하되 죽었나이다
12:19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
12:20 다윗이 땅에서 일어나 몸을 씻고 기름을 바르고 의복을 갈아 입고 여호와의 전에 들어가서 경배하고 궁으로 돌아와서 명하여 음식을 그 앞에 베풀게 하고 먹은 지라
12:20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
12:21 신복들이 왕께 묻되 아이가 살았을 때에는 위하여 금식하고 우시더니 죽은 후에는 일어나서 잡수시니 어찜이니이까
12:21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that you have done? you did fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, you did rise and eat bread.
12:22 가로되 아이가 살았을 때에 내가 금식하고 운 것은 혹시 여호와께서 나를 불쌍히 여기사 아이를 살려 주실는지 누가 알까 생각함이어니와
12:22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
12:23 시방은 죽었으니 어찌 금식하랴 내가 다시 돌아오게 할 수 있느냐 나는 저에게로 가려니와 저는 내게로 돌아오지 아니하리라
12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
12:24 ○ 다윗이 그 처 밧세바를 위로하고 저에게 들어가 동침하였더니 저가 아들을 낳으매 그 이름을 솔로몬이라 하니라 여호와께서 그를 사랑하사
12:24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
12:25 선지자 나단을 보내사 그 이름을 여디디야라 하시니 이는 여호와께서 사랑하심을 인함이더라
12:25 And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.
12:26 ○ 요압이 암몬 자손의 왕성 랍바를 쳐서 취하게 되매
12:26 And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.
12:27 사자를 다윗에게 보내어 가로되 내가 랍바 곧 물들의 성을 쳐서 취하게 되었으니
12:27 And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.
12:28 이제 왕은 남은 군사를 모아 진 치고 이 성을 쳐서 취하소서 내가 이 성을 취하면 이 성이 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받을까 두려워하나이다
12:28 Now therefore gather the rest of the people together, and camp against the city, and take it: lest I take the city, and it be called after my name.
12:29 다윗이 모든 군사를 모아 랍바로 가서 쳐서 취하고
12:29 And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.
12:30 그 왕의 머리에서 보석 있는 면류관을 취하니 그 중량이 금 한 달란트라 다윗이 머리에 쓰니라 다윗이 또 그 성에서 노략한 물건을 무수히 내어오고
12:30 And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
12:31 그 가운데 백성들을 끌어내어 톱질과 써레질과 도끼질과 벽돌구이를 하게 하니라 암몬 자손의 모든 성을 이같이 하고 다윗과 모든 백성이 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라
12:31 And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
