1:1 하나님의 종이요 예수 그리스도의 사도인 바울 곧 나의 사도 된 것은 하나님의
택하신 자들의 믿음과 경건함에 속한 진리의 지식과
1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, in agreement with the faith
of the saints of God and the full knowledge of what is true in harmony with religion,
1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to
the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after
godliness;
1:2 영생의 소망을 인함이라 이 영생은 거짓이 없으신 하나님이 영원한 때 전부터
약속하신 것인데
1:2 In the hope of eternal life, which was made certain before eternal time, by the
word of God who is ever true;
1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before
the world began;
1:3 자기 때에 자기의 말씀을 전도로 나타내셨으니 이 전도는 우리 구주 하나님의
명대로 내게 맡기신 것이라
1:3 Who, in his time, made clear his word in the good news, of which, by the order of
God our Saviour, I became a preacher;
1:3 But has in due times manifested his word (o. logos) through preaching,
which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
1:4 같은 믿음을 따라 된 나의 참 아들 디도에게 편지하노니 하나님 아버지와
그리스도 예수 우리 구주로 좇아 은혜와 평강이 네게 있을지어다
1:4 To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father
and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace,
from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
1:5 ○ 내가 너를 그레데에 떨어뜨려 둔 이유는 부족한 일을 바로잡고 나의 명한
대로 각 성에 장로들을 세우게 하려 함이니
1:5 I did not take you with me when I went away from Crete, so that you might do what
was necessary to put things in order there, placing men in authority over the churches
in every town, as I said to you;
1:5 For this cause left I you in Crete, that you should set in order the
things that are lacking, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed
you:
1:6 책망할 것이 없고 한 아내의 남편이며 방탕하다 하는 비방이나 불순종하는
일이 없는 믿는 자녀를 둔 자라야 할지라
1:6 Men having a good record, husbands of one wife, whose children are of the faith,
children of whom it may not be said that they are given to loose living or are uncontrolled.
1:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children
not accused of riot or unruly.
1:7 감독은 하나님의 청직이로서 책망할 것이 없고 제 고집대로 하지 아니하며
급히 분내지 아니하며 술을 즐기지 아니하며 구타하지 아니하며 더러운 이를 탐하지
아니하며
1:7 For it is necessary for a Bishop to be a man of virtue, as God's servant; not pushing
himself forward, not quickly moved to wrath or blows, not desiring profit for himself;
1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed,
not soon angry, not given to wine, not an attacker, not given to filthy illegal
gain;
1:8 오직 나그네를 대접하며 선을 좋아하며 근신하며 의로우며 거룩하며 절제하며
1:8 But opening his house freely to guests; a lover of what is good, serious-minded,
upright, holy, self-controlled;
1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
1:9 미쁜 말씀의 가르침을 그대로 지켜야 하리니 이는 능히 바른 교훈으로 권면하고
거스려 말하는 자들을 책망하게 하려 함이라
1:9 Keeping to the true word of the teaching, so that he may be able to give comfort
by right teaching and overcome the arguments of the doubters.
1:9 Holding fast the faithful word (o. logos) as he has been taught, that
he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
1:10 ○ 복종치 아니하고 헛된 말을 하며 속이는 자가 많은 중 특별히 할례당
가운데 심하니
1:10 For there are men who are not ruled by law; foolish talkers, false teachers, specially
those of the circumcision,
1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially
they of the circumcision:
1:11 저희의 입을 막을 것이라 이런 자들이 더러운 이를 취하려고 마땅치 아니한
것을 가르쳐 집들을 온통 엎드러치는도다
1:11 By whom some families have been completely overturned; who take money for teaching
things which are not right; these will have to be stopped.
1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things
which they ought not, for filthy illegal gain's sake.
1:12 그레데인 중에 어떤 선지자가 말하되 그레데인들은 항상 거짓말장이며
악한 짐승이며 배만 위하는 게으름장이라 하니
1:12 One of their prophets has said, The men of Crete are ever false, evil beasts, lovers
of food, hating work.
1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are
always liars, evil beasts, sluggards.
1:13 이 증거가 참되도다 그러므로 네가 저희를 엄히 꾸짖으라 이는 저희로 하여금
믿음을 온전케 하고
1:13 This witness is true. So say sharp words to them so that they may come to the right
faith,
1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be
sound in the faith;
1:14 유대인의 허탄한 이야기와 진리를 배반하는 사람들의 명령을 좇지 않게 하려
함이라
1:14 Giving no attention to the fictions of the Jews and the rules of men who have no
true knowledge.
1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn
from the truth.
1:15 깨끗한 자들에게는 모든 것이 깨끗하나 더럽고 믿지 아니하는 자들에게는
아무 것도 깨끗한 것이 없고 오직 저희 마음과 양심이 더러운지라
1:15 To the clean in heart all things are clean: but to those who are unclean and without
faith nothing is clean; they become unclean in mind and in thought.
1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and
unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
1:16 저희가 하나님을 시인하나 행위로는 부인하니 가증한 자요 복종치 아니하는
자요 모든 선한 일을 버리는 자니라
1:16 They say that they have knowledge of God, while by their acts they are turning their
backs on him; they are hated by all, hard-hearted, and judged to be without value
for any good work.
1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable,
and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
2:1 오직 너는 바른 교훈에 합한 것을 말하여
2:1 But let your words be in agreement with true and right teaching:
2:1 But speak you the things which become sound doctrine:
2:2 늙은 남자로는 절제하며 경건하며 근신하며 믿음과 사랑과 인내함에 온전케 하고
2:2 That old men are to be simple in their tastes, serious, wise, true in faith, in
love, and of a quiet mind.
2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in love,
(o. agape) in patience.
2:3 늙은 여자로는 이와 같이 행실이 거룩하며 참소치 말며 많은 술의 종이 되지
말며 선한 것을 가르치는 자들이 되고
2:3 That old women are to be self-respecting in behaviour, not saying evil of others,
not given to taking much wine, teachers of that which is good,
2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness,
not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
2:4 저들로 젊은 여자들을 교훈하되 그 남편과 자녀를 사랑하며
2:4 Training the younger women to have love for their husbands and children,
2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands,
to love their children,
2:5 근신하며 순전하며 집안 일을 하며 선하며 자기 남편에게 복종하게 하라 이는
하나님의 말씀이 훼방을 받지 않게 하려 함이니라
2:5 To be wise in mind, clean in heart, kind; working in their houses, living under
the authority of their husbands; so that no evil may be said of the word of God.
2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own
husbands, that the word (o. logos) of God be not blasphemed.
2:6 너는 이와 같이 젊은 남자들을 권면하여 근신하게 하되
2:6 To the young men give orders to be wise and serious-minded:
2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
2:7 범사에 네 자신으로 선한 일의 본을 보여 교훈의 부패치 아니함과 경건함과
2:7 In all things see that you are an example of good works; holy in your teaching,
serious in behaviour,
2:7 In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing
incorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
2:8 책망할 것이 없는 바른 말을 하게 하라 이는 대적하는 자로 하여금 부끄러워
우리를 악하다 할 것이 없게 하려 함이라
2:8 Saying true and right words, against which no protest may be made, so that he who
is not on our side may be put to shame, unable to say any evil of us.
2:8 Sound speech, (o. logos) that cannot be condemned; that he that is of
the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
2:9 종들로는 자기 상전들에게 범사에 순종하여 기쁘게 하고 거스려 말하지 말며
2:9 Servants are to be under the authority of their masters, pleasing them in all things,
without argument;
2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please
them well in all things; not answering again;
2:10 떼어 먹지 말고 오직 선한 충성을 다하게 하라 이는 범사에 우리 구주 하나님의
교훈을 빛나게 하려 함이라
2:10 Not taking what is not theirs, but giving clear signs of their good faith, in all
things doing credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.
2:10 Not embezzling, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the
doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
2:11 모든 사람에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 은혜가 나타나
2:11 For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men,
2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
2:12 우리를 양육하시되 경건치 않은 것과 이 세상 정욕을 다 버리고 근신함과
의로움과 경건함으로 이 세상에 살고
2:12 Training us so that, turning away from evil and the desires of this world, we may
be living wisely and uprightly in the knowledge of God in this present life;
2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
2:13 복스러운 소망과 우리의 크신 하나님 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광이 나타나심을
기다리게 하셨으니
2:13 Looking for the glad hope, the revelation of the glory of our great God and Saviour
Jesus Christ;
2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
2:14 그가 우리를 대신하여 자신을 주심은 모든 불법에서 우리를 구속하시고 우리를
깨끗하게 하사 선한 일에 열심하는 친 백성이 되게 하려 하심이니라
2:14 Who gave himself for us, so that he might make us free from all wrongdoing, and
make for himself a people clean in heart and on fire with good works.
2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself an exclusive people, zealous of good works.
2:15 ○ 너는 이것을 말하고 권면하며 모든 권위로 책망하여 누구에게든지 업신여김을 받지 말라
2:15 On all these points give teaching and help, and make clear what is right with all
authority. Let all men give you honour.
2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no
man despise you.
3:1 너는 저희로 하여금 정사와 권세 잡은 자들에게 복종하며 순종하며 모든 선한
일 행하기를 예비하게 하며
3:1 Make clear to them that they are to put themselves under rulers and authorities,
to do what they are ordered, to be ready for every good work,
3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey
magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
3:2 아무도 훼방하지 말며 다투지 말며 관용하며 범사에 온유함을 모든 사람에게
나타낼 것을 기억하게 하라
3:2 To say no evil of any man, not to be fighters, to give way to others, to be gentle
in behaviour to all men.
3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness
unto all men.
3:3 우리도 전에는 어리석은 자요 순종치 아니한 자요 속은 자요 각색 정욕과
행락에 종 노릇 한 자요 악독과 투기로 지낸 자요 가증스러운 자요 피차 미워한 자이었으나
3:3 For in the past we were foolish, hard in heart, turned from the true way, servants
of evil desires and pleasures, living in bad feeling and envy, hated and hating
one another.
3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived,
serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and
hating one another.
3:4 우리 구주 하나님의 자비와 사람 사랑하심을 나타내실 때에
3:4 But when the mercy of God our Saviour, and his love to man was seen,
3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
3:5 우리를 구원하시되 우리의 행한 바 의로운 행위로 말미암지 아니하고 오직
그의 긍휼하심을 좇아 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 하셨나니
3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but in the measure of his
mercy, he gave us salvation, through the washing of the new birth and the giving
of new life in the Holy Spirit,
3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his
mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy
Spirit; (o. pneuma)
3:6 성령을 우리 구주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리에게 풍성히 부어 주사
3:6 Which he gave us freely through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
3:7 우리로 저의 은혜를 힘입어 의롭다 하심을 얻어 영생의 소망을 따라 후사가
되게 하려 하심이라
3:7 So that, having been given righteousness through grace, we might have a part in
the heritage, the hope of eternal life.
3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according
to the hope of eternal life.
3:8 이 말이 미쁘도다 원컨대 네가 이 여러 것에 대하여 굳세게 말하라 이는 하나님을
믿는 자들로 하여금 조심하여 선한 일을 힘쓰게 하려 함이라 이것은 아름다우며 사람들에게
유익하니라
3:8 This is a true saying; and it is my desire that you may give certain witness about
these things, so that those who have had faith in God may give attention to good
works. These things are good and of profit to men;
3:8 This is a faithful saying, (o. logos) and these things I will that you
affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to
maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
3:9 그러나 어리석은 변론과 족보 이야기와 분쟁과 율법에 대한 다툼을 피하라
이것은 무익한 것이요 헛된 것이니라
3:9 But have nothing to do with foolish questionings, and lists of generations, and
fights and arguments about the law; for they are of no profit and foolish.
3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings
about the law; for they are useless and vain.
3:10 이단에 속한 사람을 한두 번 훈계한 후에 멀리 하라
3:10 A man whose opinions are not those of the church, after a first and second protest,
is to be kept out of your society;
3:10 A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
3:11 이러한 사람은 네가 아는 바와 같이 부패하여서 스스로 정죄한 자로서 죄를
짓느니라
3:11 Clearly he is in error and a sinner, being self-judged.
3:11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned
of himself.
3:12 내가 아데마나 두기고를 네게 보내리니 그 때에 네가 급히 니고볼리로 내게
오라 내가 거기서 과동하기로 작정하였노라
3:12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis:
for it is my purpose to be there for the winter.
3:12 When I shall send Artemas unto you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come
unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
3:13 ○ 교법사 세나와 및 아볼로를 급히 먼저 보내어 저희로 궁핍함이 없게 하고
3:13 Send Zenas, the man of law, and Apollos on their journey with all care, so that
they may be in need of nothing.
3:13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that
nothing be lacking unto them.
3:14 또 우리 사람들도 열매 없는 자가 되지 않게 하기 위하여 필요한 것을 예비하는
좋은 일에 힘쓰기를 배우게 하라
3:14 And let our people go on with good works for necessary purposes, so that they may
not be without fruit.
3:14 And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses,
that they be not unfruitful.
3:15 ○ 나와 함께 있는 자가 다 네게 문안하니 믿음 안에서 우리를 사랑하는
자들에게 너도 문안하라 ○ 은혜가 너희 무리에게 있을지어다
3:15 All who are with me send you their love. Give our love to our friends in the faith.
Grace be with you all.
3:15 All that are with me salute you. Greet them that love us in the faith.
Grace be with you all. Amen.
