9:1 And getting the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all evil spirits and over diseases, to make them well.
9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

9:2 Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ³ª¶ó¸¦ ÀüÆÄÇÏ¸ç ¾Î´Â ÀÚ¸¦ °íÄ¡°Ô ÇÏ·Á°í ³»¾î º¸³»½Ã¸ç
9:2 And he sent them out to be preachers of the kingdom of God, and to make well those who were ill.
9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

9:3 And he said to them, Take nothing for your journey, no stick or bag or bread or money, and do not take two coats.
9:3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor pouch, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

9:4 And if you go into a house, let that house be your resting-place till you go away.
9:4 And whatsoever house all of you enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

9:5 And if any people will not take you in, when you go away from that town, put off its dust from your feet for a witness against them.
9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when all of you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

9:6 And they went away, journeying through all the towns, preaching the good news and making people free from diseases in all places.
9:6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

9:7 Now Herod the king had news of all these things: and he was in doubt, because it was said by some people that John had come back from the dead;
9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

9:8 And by some, that Elijah had come; and by others, that one of the old prophets had come back to life.
9:8 And of some, that Elijah had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

9:9 And Herod said, I put John to death: but who is this, of whom such stories are given to me? And he had a desire to see him.
9:9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

9:10 And the twelve, when they came back, gave him an account of what they had done. And he took them with him and went away from the people to a town named Beth-saida.
9:10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

9:11 But the people, getting news of it, went after him: and he was pleased to see them, and gave them teaching about the kingdom of God, and made those well who were in need of it.
9:11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

9:12 And the day went on; and the twelve came to him and said, Send these people away so that they may go into the towns and the country round about and get resting-places and food for themselves, for we are in a waste place.
9:12 And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

9:13 But he said, Give them food yourselves. And they said, We have only five cakes of bread and two fishes, if we do not go and get food for all these people.
9:13 But he said unto them, Give all of you them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy food for all this people.

9:14 For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them be seated in groups, about fifty to a group.
9:14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

9:15 And they did so, and made them all be seated.

9:16 And he took the five cakes of bread and the two fishes and, looking up to heaven, he said words of blessing over them, and when they had been broken, he gave them to the disciples to give to the people.
9:16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

9:17 ¸Ô°í ´Ù ¹èºÒ·¶´õ¶ó ±× ³²Àº Á¶°¢ ¿­ µÎ ¹Ù±¸´Ï¸¦ °ÅµÎ´Ï¶ó
9:17 And they all took the food and had enough; and they took up of the broken bits which were over, twelve baskets full.
9:17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

9:18 And it came about that when he was in prayer, by himself, and the disciples were with him, he put a question to them, saying, Who do the people say I am?
9:18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

9:19 ´ë´äÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¼¼·Ê ¿äÇÑÀ̶ó ÇÏ°í ´õ·¯´Â ¿¤¸®¾ß¶ó ´õ·¯´Â ¿¾ ¼±ÁöÀÚ ÁßÀÇ Çϳª°¡ »ì¾Æ³µ´Ù ÇϳªÀÌ´Ù
9:19 And they, answering, said, John the Baptist; but others say Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets has come back.
9:19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say, that one of the old prophets has risen again.

9:20 And he said, But who do you say that I am? And Peter, answering, said, The Christ of God.
9:20 He said unto them, But whom say all of you that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

9:21 But he gave them special orders, not to say this to any man;
9:21 And he strictly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

9:22 °¡¶ó»ç´ë ÀÎÀÚ°¡ ¸¹Àº °í³­À» ¹Þ°í Àå·Îµé°ú ´ëÁ¦»çÀåµé°ú ¼­±â°üµé¿¡°Ô ¹ö¸° ¹Ù µÇ¾î Á×ÀÓÀ» ´çÇÏ°í Á¦ »ï ÀÏ¿¡ »ì¾Æ³ª¾ß Çϸ®¶ó ÇϽðí
9:22 Saying, The Son of man will undergo much and be put on one side by the rulers and the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and be put to death, and on the third day he will come back to life.
9:22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

9:23 ¶Ç ¹«¸®¿¡°Ô À̸£½ÃµÇ ¾Æ¹«µçÁö ³ª¸¦ µû¶ó ¿À·Á°Åµç Àڱ⸦ ºÎÀÎÇÏ°í ³¯¸¶´Ù Á¦ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¸¦ Áö°í ³ª¸¦ ÁÀÀ» °ÍÀ̴϶ó
9:23 And he said to them all, If any man has a desire to come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross every day, and come after me.
9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

9:24 For whoever has a desire to keep his life will have it taken from him, but whoever gives up his life because of me, will keep it.
9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

9:25 For what profit will a man have if he gets all the world, but undergoes loss or destruction himself?
9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

9:26 For if any man has a feeling of shame because of me or of my words, the Son of man will have shame because of him when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, (o. logos) of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

9:27 ¡Û ³»°¡ ÂüÀ¸·Î ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£³ë´Ï ¿©±â ¼¹´Â »ç¶÷ Áß¿¡ Á×±â Àü¿¡ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ³ª¶ó¸¦ º¼ Àڵ鵵 ÀÖ´À´Ï¶ó
9:27 But truly I say to you, Some of those who are here now will have no taste of death till they see the kingdom of God.
9:27 But I tell you truthfully, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

9:28 ¡Û ÀÌ ¸»¾¸À» ÇϽŠÈÄ ÆÈ ÀÏÂë µÇ¾î ¿¹¼ö²²¼­ º£µå·Î¿Í ¿äÇÑ°ú ¾ß°íº¸¸¦ µ¥¸®½Ã°í ±âµµÇϽ÷¯ »ê¿¡ ¿Ã¶ó°¡»ç
9:28 And about eight days after he had said these things, he took Peter and John and James with him and went up into the mountain for prayer.
9:28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, (o. logos) he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

9:29 ±âµµÇÏ½Ç ¶§¿¡ ¿ë¸ð°¡ º¯È­µÇ°í ±× ¿ÊÀÌ Èñ¾îÁ® ±¤Ã¤°¡ ³ª´õ¶ó
9:29 And while he was in prayer, his face was changed and his clothing became white and shining.
9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and flashing.

9:30 And two men, Moses and Elijah, were talking with him;
9:30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah:

9:31 Who were seen in glory and were talking of his death which was about to take place in Jerusalem.
9:31 Who appeared in glory, and spoke of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

9:32 Now Peter and those who were with him were overcome with sleep: but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were with him.
9:32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

9:33 And when they were about to go away from him, Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah: having no knowledge of what he was saying.
9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said.

9:34 ÀÌ ¸» ÇÒ ÁîÀ½¿¡ ±¸¸§ÀÌ ¿Í¼­ ÀúÈñ¸¦ µ¤´ÂÁö¶ó ±¸¸§ ¼ÓÀ¸·Î µé¾î°¥ ¶§¿¡ ÀúÈñ°¡ ¹«¼­¿öÇÏ´õ´Ï
9:34 And while he said these things, the shade of a cloud came over them, and they were full of fear when they went into the cloud.
9:34 While he thus spoke, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

9:35 And there was a voice from the cloud saying, This is my Son, the man of my selection; give ear to him.
9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

9:36 ¼Ò¸®°¡ ±×Ä¡¸Å ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¼ö¸¸ º¸À̽ôõ¶ó Á¦ÀÚµéÀÌ ÀáÀáÇÏ¿© ±× º» °ÍÀ» ¹«¾ùÀ̵çÁö ±×¶§¿¡´Â ¾Æ¹«¿¡°Ôµµ À̸£Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϴ϶ó
9:36 And after the voice was gone they saw that Jesus was by himself. And they kept quiet, and said nothing at that time to anyone of the things which they had seen.
9:36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

9:37 And on the day after, when they came down from the mountain, a great band of people came to him.
9:37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

9:38 And a man from among them, crying out, said, Master, I make a request to you, give a thought to my son, for he is my only child:
9:38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I plead to you, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

9:39 And see, a spirit takes him, and suddenly he gives a cry, twisted in pain and streaming at the lips, and when it goes away from him at last, he is marked as from blows.
9:39 And, lo, a spirit (o. pneuma) takes him, and he suddenly cries out; and it tears him that he foams again, and bruising him hardly departs from him.

9:40 ´ç½ÅÀÇ Á¦Àڵ鿡°Ô ³»¾î ÂÑ¾Æ Áֱ⸦ ±¸ÇÏ¿´À¸³ª ÀúÈñ°¡ ´ÉÈ÷ ¸øÇÏ´õÀÌ´Ù
9:40 And I made a request to your disciples to send it out of him, but they were not able to do it.
9:40 And I besought your disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

9:41 ¿¹¼ö²²¼­ ´ë´äÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë ¹ÏÀ½ÀÌ ¾ø°í ÆпªÇÑ ¼¼´ë¿© ³»°¡ ¾ó¸¶³ª ³ÊÈñ¿Í ÇÔ²² ÀÖÀ¸¸ç ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ÂüÀ¸¸®¿ä ³× ¾ÆµéÀ» À̸®·Î µ¥¸®°í ¿À¶ó ÇϽôÏ
9:41 And Jesus said, O generation without faith and false in heart, how long will I have to be with you and put up with you? let your son come here.
9:41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring your son here.

9:42 And while he was coming, he was pushed violently down and twisted by the evil spirit. But Jesus gave sharp orders to the unclean spirit, and made the boy well, and gave him back to his father.
9:42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, (o. pneuma) and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

9:43 And they were full of wonder at the great power of God. But while they were all wondering at all the things which he did, he said to his disciples,
9:43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

9:44 Let these words go deep into your ears, for the Son of man will be given up into the hands of men.

9:45 But this saying was not clear to them and its sense was kept secret from them so that they were not able to see it: and they had fear of questioning him about it.
9:45 But they understood not this saying, (o. rhema) and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. (o. rhema)

9:47 But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their hearts, he took a small child and put him by his side,

9:48 And said to them, Whoever gives honour to this child in my name, gives honour to me: and whoever gives honour to me, gives honour to him who sent me: for whoever is least among you all, that man is great.
9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receives me: and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

9:49 And John, answering, said, Master, we saw a man driving out evil spirits in your name, and we did not let him do it, because he was not one of us.

9:54 And when his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, Lord, may we send fire from heaven and put an end to them?
9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will you that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?

9:61 And another man said, I will come with you, Lord, but first let me say a last good-day to those who are at my house.
9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow you; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

10:1 Now after these things, the Lord made selection of seventy others and sent them before him, two together, into every town and place where he himself was about to come.
10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, where he himself would come.

10:2 And he said to them, There is much grain ready to be cut, but not enough workers: so make prayer to the Lord of the grain-fields that he will send workers to get in the grain.
10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray all of you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

10:3 Go on your way: see, I send you out like lambs among wolves.

10:4 Take no bag for money or for food, and no shoes; say no word to any man on the way.
10:4 Carry neither purse, nor pouch, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

10:6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will be with him: but if not, it will come back to you again.
10:6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

10:7 And keep in that same house, taking what food and drink they give you: for the worker has a right to his reward. Do not go from house to house.
10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

10:9 And make well those in it who are ill and say to them, The kingdom of God is near to you.
10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.

10:10 But if you go into a town where they will not have you, go out into the streets of it and say,
10:10 But into whatsoever city all of you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

10:11 Even the dust of your town, which is on our feet, we put off as a witness against you; but be certain of this, that the kingdom of God is near.
10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be all of you sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.

10:12 I say to you, It will be better in that day for Sodom than for that town.
10:12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

10:13 A curse is on you, Chorazin! A curse is on you, Beth-saida! For if such works of power had been done in Tyre and Sidon as have been done in you, they would have been turned from their sins, in days gone by, seated in the dust.
10:13 Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

10:14 But it will be better for Tyre and Sidon, in the day of judging, than for you.

10:15 And you, Capernaum, were you not lifted up to heaven? you will go down to hell.
10:15 And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.

10:16 Whoever gives ear to you, gives ear to me; and whoever is against you, is against me; and whoever is against me, is against him who sent me.

10:19 See, I have given you power to put your feet on snakes and evil beasts, and over all the strength of him who is against you: and nothing will do you damage.
10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

10:20 Do not be glad, however, because you have power over spirits, but because your names are recorded in heaven.
10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits (o. pneuma) are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

10:21 In that same hour he was full of joy in the Holy Spirit and said, I give praise to you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have kept these things secret from the wise and the men of learning, and have made them clear to little children: for so, O Father, it was pleasing in your eyes.
10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, (o. pneuma) and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in your sight.

11:1 And it came about that he was in prayer in a certain place, and when he came to an end, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, will you give us teaching about prayer, as John did to his disciples?

11:7 And he, from inside the house, would say in answer, Do not be a trouble to me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; it is not possible for me to get up and give to you?
11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you.

11:9 And I say to you, Make requests, and they will be answered; what you are searching for, you will get; when you give the sign, the door will be open to you.

11:13 If, then, you who are evil are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who make request to him?
11:13 If all of you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) to them that ask him?

11:14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered.

11:18 If, then, Satan is at war with himself, how will he keep his kingdom? because you say that I send evil spirits out of men by the help of Beelzebul.

11:24 The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of a man, goes through dry places, looking for rest; and when he does not get it, he says, I will go back to my house from which I came.
11:24 When the unclean spirit (o. pneuma) is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

12:1 At that time, when thousands of the people had come together, in such numbers that they were crushing one another, he said first to his disciples, Have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees, which is deceit.
12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware all of you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

12:3 So, whatever you have said in the dark, will come to men's hearing in the light, and what you have said secretly inside the house, will be made public from the house-tops.
12:3 Therefore whatsoever all of you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which all of you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

12:5 But I will make clear to you of whom you are to be in fear: of him who after death has power to send you to hell; yes, truly I say, Have fear of him.
12:5 But I will forewarn you whom all of you shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

12:6 Are not five sparrows given in exchange for two farthings? and God has every one of them in mind.

12:8 And I say to you that to everyone who gives witness to me before men, the Son of man will give witness before the angels of God.

12:10 And if anyone says a word against the Son of man, he will have forgiveness: but for him who says evil words against the Holy Spirit, there will be no forgiveness.
12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word (o. logos) against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemes against the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) it shall not be forgiven.

12:11 And when they take you before the Synagogues and the authorities and the rulers, take no thought about what answers you will give, or what you will say:
12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take all of you no thought how or what thing all of you shall answer, or what all of you shall say:

12:12 For the Holy Spirit will make clear to you in that very hour what to say.

12:15 And he said to them, Take care to keep yourselves free from the desire for property; for a man's life is not made up of the number of things which he has.

12:18 And he said, This I will do: I will take down my store-houses and make greater ones, and there I will put all my grain and my goods.

12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have a great amount of goods in store, enough for a number of years; be at rest, take food and wine and be happy.
12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take yours ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

12:20 But God said to him, You foolish one, tonight I will take your soul from you, and who then will be the owner of all the things which you have got together?
12:20 But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?

12:22 And he said to his disciples, For this reason I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about what food you will take, or for your body, how it may be clothed.
12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat; neither for the body, what all of you shall put on.

12:24 Give thought to the ravens; they do not put seeds into the earth, or get together grain; they have no store-houses or buildings; and God gives them their food: of how much greater value are you than the birds!
12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are all of you better than the fowls?

12:25 And which of you by taking thought is able to make himself any taller?

12:26 If, then, you are not able to do even that which is least, why are you troubled about the rest?

12:27 Give thought to the flowers: they do no work, they make no thread; and still I say to you, Even Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these.
12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

12:28 But if God gives such clothing to the grass in the field, which today is living, and tomorrow will be burned in the oven, how much more will he give clothing to you, O men of little faith?
12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O all of you of little faith?

12:33 Sell that all of you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

12:37 Happy are those servants who are watching when the lord comes; truly I say to you, he will make himself their servant and, placing them at the table, he will come out and give them food.
12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he comes shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to food, and will come forth and serve them.

12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; and shall begin to beat the male servants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

12:46 The lord of that servant will come at a time when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not ready for him, and he will have him cut in two and will give him his part in the fate of those who have no faith;
12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

13:14 And the ruler of the Synagogue was angry because Jesus had made her well on the Sabbath, and he said to the people, There are six days in which men may do work: so come on those days to be made well, and not on the Sabbath.

13:30 And the last will be first, and the first will be last.
13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

13:31 At that time, certain Pharisees came to him and said, Go away from this place, because Herod's purpose is to put you to death.
13:31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get you out, and depart behind: for Herod will kill you.

13:32 And he said, Go and say to that fox, I send out evil spirits and do works of mercy today and tomorrow, and on the third day my work will be complete.
13:32 And he said unto them, Go all of you, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

13:33 But I have to go on my way today and tomorrow and the third day, for it is not right for a prophet to come to his death outside Jerusalem.
13:33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, putting to death the prophets, and stoning those who were sent to her! again and again would I have taken your children to myself, as a bird takes her young ones under her wings, but you would not!
13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kill the prophets, and stone them that are sent unto you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen does gather her brood under her wings, and all of you would not!

13:35 Now see, your house is waste, and I say to you, You will not see me again till you say, A blessing on him who comes in the name of the Lord.
13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, All of you shall not see me, until the time come when all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

14:1 And it came about that when he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees on the Sabbath, to have a meal, they were watching him.
14:1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

14:2 And a certain man was there who had a disease.
14:2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.

14:3 And Jesus, answering, said to the scribes and Pharisees, Is it right to make people well on the Sabbath or not?
14:3 And Jesus answering spoke unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

14:4 But they said nothing. And he made him well and sent him away.
14:4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

14:5 And he said to them, Which of you, whose ox or ass has got into a water-hole, will not straight away get him out on the Sabbath?
14:5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?

14:6 And they had no answer to that question.
14:6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

14:7 And he gave teaching in the form of a story to the guests who came to the feast, when he saw how they took the best seats; saying to them,
14:7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.

14:8 When you get a request to come to a feast, do not take the best seat, for a more important man than you may be coming,
14:8 When you are bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than you be bidden of him;

14:9 And then the giver of the feast will come to you and say, Give your place to this man; and you, with shame, will have to take the lowest seat.
14:9 And he that bade you and him come and say to you, Give this man place; and you begin with shame to take the low room.

14:10 But when you come, go and take the lowest seat, so that when the giver of the feast comes, he may say to you, Friend, come up higher; and then you will have honour in the eyes of all the others who are there.
14:10 But when you are bidden, go and sit down in the low room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit to eat with you.

14:11 ¹«¸© Àڱ⸦ ³ôÀÌ´Â ÀÚ´Â ³·¾ÆÁö°í Àڱ⸦ ³·Ãß´Â ÀÚ´Â ³ô¾ÆÁö¸®¶ó
14:11 For every man who gives himself a high place will be put down, but he who takes a low place will be lifted up.
14:11 For whosoever exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

14:12 And he said to the master of the house, When you give a feast, do not send for your friends and your brothers and your family or your neighbours who have wealth, for they may give a feast for you, and so you will get a reward.
14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or a supper, call not your friends, nor your brethren, neither your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbours; lest they also bid you again, and a recompence be made you.

14:13 ÀÜÄ¡¸¦ ¹è¼³Çϰŵç Â÷¶ó¸® °¡³­ÇÑ ÀÚµé°ú º´½Åµé°ú Àú´Â ÀÚµé°ú ¼Ò°æµéÀ» ûÇ϶ó
14:13 But when you give a feast, send for the poor and the blind and those who are broken in body:
14:13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the physically disabled, the lame, the blind:

14:14 ±×¸®Çϸé ÀúÈñ°¡ °±À» °ÍÀÌ ¾ø´Â °í·Î ³×°Ô º¹ÀÌ µÇ¸®´Ï ÀÌ´Â ÀÇÀεéÀÇ ºÎÈ°½Ã¿¡ ³×°¡ °±À½À» ¹Þ°ÚÀ½À̴϶ó ÇϽôõ¶ó
14:14 And you will have a blessing, because they will not be able to give you any payment, and you will get your reward when the upright come back from the dead.
14:14 And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

14:15 And, hearing these words, one of those who were at table with him said to him, Happy is the man who will be a guest in the kingdom of God.
14:15 And when one of them that sat at food with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

14:16 And he said to them, A certain man gave a great feast, and sent word of it to a number of people.
14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

14:17 And when the time had come, he sent his servants to say to them, Come, for all things are now ready.
14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

14:18 ´Ù ÀÏÄ¡ÇÏ°Ô »ç¾çÇÏ¿© Çϳª´Â °¡·ÎµÇ ³ª´Â ¹çÀ» »òÀ¸¸Å ºÒ°¡ºÒ ³ª°¡ º¸¾Æ¾ß ÇÏ°ÚÀ¸´Ï ûÄÁ´ë ³ª¸¦ ¿ë¼­Çϵµ·Ï Ç϶ó ÇÏ°í
14:18 And they all gave reasons why they were not able to come. The first said to him, I have got a new field, and it is necessary for me to go and see it: I am full of regret that I am unable to come.
14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must essentially go and see it: I pray you have me excused.

14:19 And another said, I have got some cattle, and I am going to make a test of them: I am full of regret that I am unable to come.
14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused.

14:20 And another said, I have been married, and so I am not able to come.
14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

14:21 And the servant came back and gave his master an account of these things. Then the master of the house was angry and said to the servant, Go out quickly into the streets of the town and get the poor, the blind, and those who are broken in body.
14:21 So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the physically disabled, and the halt, and the blind.

14:22 Á¾ÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ÁÖÀÎÀÌ¿© ¸íÇϽŠ´ë·Î ÇÏ¿´À¸µÇ ¿ÀÈ÷·Á ÀÚ¸®°¡ ÀÖ³ªÀÌ´Ù
14:22 And the servant said, Lord, your orders have been done, and still there is room.
14:22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.

14:23 ÁÖÀÎÀÌ Á¾¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ±æ°ú »ê¿ï °¡·Î ³ª°¡¼­ »ç¶÷À» °­±ÇÇÏ¿© µ¥·Á´Ù°¡ ³» ÁýÀ» ä¿ì¶ó
14:23 And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the roads and the fields, and make them come in, so that my house may be full.
14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

14:24 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ¸»Çϳë´Ï Àü¿¡ ûÇÏ¿´´ø ±× »ç¶÷Àº Çϳªµµ ³» ÀÜÄ¡¸¦ ¸Àº¸Áö ¸øÇϸ®¶ó ÇÏ¿´´Ù ÇϽô϶ó
14:24 For I say to you that not one of those who were requested to come will have a taste of my feast.
14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

14:25 Now a great number of people went with him.
14:25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

14:26 And turning round, he said to them, If any man comes to me, and has not hate for his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, and even for his life, he may not be my disciple.
14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

14:27 Whoever does not take up his cross and come after me may not be my disciple.
14:27 And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

14:28 ³ÊÈñ Áß¿¡ ´©°¡ ¸Á´ë¸¦ ¼¼¿ì°íÀÚ ÇÒÁø´ë ÀÚ±âÀÇ °¡Áø °ÍÀÌ ÁØ°øÇϱâ±îÁö¿¡ Á·ÇÒ´ÂÁö ¸ÕÀú ¾É¾Æ ±× ºñ¿ëÀ» ¿¹»êÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä
14:28 For which of you, desiring to put up a tower, does not first give much thought to the price, if he will have enough to make it complete?
14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

14:29 ±×·¸°Ô ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿© ±× ±âÃʸ¸ ½×°í ´ÉÈ÷ ÀÌ·çÁö ¸øÇÏ¸é º¸´Â ÀÚ°¡ ´Ù ºñ¿ô¾î
14:29 For fear that if he makes a start and is not able to go on with it to the end, all who see it will be laughing at him,
14:29 Lest lest by any means, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

14:30 And saying, This man made a start at building and is not able to make it complete.
14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

14:31 Or what king, going to war with another king, will not first take thought if he will be strong enough, with ten thousand men, to keep off him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?

14:32 Or while the other is still a great distance away, he sends representatives requesting conditions of peace.
14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy, and desires conditions of peace.

14:33 And so whoever is not ready to give up all he has may not be my disciple.
14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.

14:34 For salt is good, but if the taste goes from it, of what use is it?
14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

14:35 It is no good for the land or for the place of waste; no one has a use for it. He who has ears, let him give ear.
14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

15:1 Now all the tax-farmers and sinners came near to give ear to him.
15:1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners in order to hear him.

15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes were angry, saying, This man gives approval to sinners, and takes food with them.
15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.

15:3 And he made a story for them, saying,

15:4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if one of them gets loose and goes away, will not let the ninety-nine be in the waste land by themselves, and go after the wandering one, till he sees where it is?
15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

15:5 ¶Ç ãÀºÁï Áñ°Å¿ö ¾î±ú¿¡ ¸Þ°í
15:5 And when he has got it again, he takes it in his arms with joy.
15:5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

15:6 And when he gets back to his house, he sends for his neighbours and friends, saying to them, Be glad with me, for I have got back my sheep which had gone away.
15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

15:7 I say to you that even so there will be more joy in heaven when one sinner is turned away from his wrongdoing, than for ninety-nine good men, who have no need of a change of heart.
15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

15:8 Or what woman, having ten bits of silver, if one bit has gone from her hands, will not get a light, and go through her house, searching with care till she sees it?
15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

15:9 And when she has it again, she gets her friends and neighbours together, saying, Be glad with me, for I have got back the bit of silver which had gone from me.
15:9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

15:10 Even so, I say to you, There is joy among the angels of God, when one sinner is turned away from his wrongdoing.
15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me that part of your property which will be mine. And he made division of his goods between them.

15:13 And not long after, the younger son got together everything which was his and took a journey into a far-away country, and there all his money went in foolish living.
15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

15:14 And when everything was gone, there was no food to be had in that country, and he was in need.
15:14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in lack.

15:15 And he went and put himself into the hands of one of the people of that country, and he sent him into his fields to give the pigs their food.

15:17 But when he came to his senses, he said, What numbers of my father's servants have bread enough, and more, while I am near to death here through need of food!
15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

15:19 I am no longer good enough to be named your son: make me like one of your servants.
15:19 And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants.

15:20 And he got up and went to his father. But while he was still far away, his father saw him and was moved with pity for him and went quickly and took him in his arms and gave him a kiss.
15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

15:21 And his son said to him, Father, I have done wrong, against heaven and in your eyes: I am no longer good enough to be named your son.
15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.

15:22 But the father said to his servants, Get out the first robe quickly, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet:

15:24 For this, my son, who was dead, is living again; he had gone away from me, and has come back. And they were full of joy.

15:25 Now the older son was in the field: and when he came near the house, the sounds of music and dancing came to his ears.

15:26 And he sent for one of the servants, questioning him about what it might be.

15:27 And he said to him, Your brother has come; and your father has had the young ox put to death because he has come back safely.
15:27 And he said unto him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.

15:29 But he made answer and said to his father, See, all these years I have been your servant, doing your orders in everything: and you never gave me even a young goat so that I might have a feast with my friends:
15:29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

15:31 And he said to him, Son, you are with me at all times, and all I have is yours.

16:1 And another time he said to the disciples, There was a certain man of great wealth who had a servant; and it was said to him that this servant was wasting his goods.
16:1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

16:2 And he sent for him and said, What is this which is said about you? give me an account of all you have done, for you will no longer be the manager of my property.
16:2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account (o. logos) of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward.

16:3 And the servant said to himself, What am I to do now that my lord takes away my position? I have not enough strength for working in the fields, and I would be shamed if I made requests for money from people in the streets.
16:3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

16:4 I have come to a decision what to do, so that when I am put out of my position they will take me into their houses.
16:4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

16:5 And sending for every one who was in debt to his lord he said to the first, What is the amount of your debt to my lord?
16:5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owe you unto my lord?

16:6 And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said, Take your account straight away and put down fifty.

16:7 Then he said to another, What is the amount of your debt? And he said, A hundred measures of grain. And he said to him, Take your account and put down eighty.
16:7 Then said he to another, And how much owe you? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and write fourscore.

16:8 And his lord was pleased with the false servant, because he had been wise; for the sons of this world are wiser in relation to their generation than the sons of light.
16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

16:9 And I say to you, Make friends for yourselves through the wealth of this life, so that when it comes to an end, you may be taken into the eternal resting-places.
16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when all of you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

16:10 He who is true in a little, is true in much; he who is false in small things, is false in great.

16:11 If, then, you have not been true in your use of the wealth of this life, who will give into your care the true wealth?
16:11 If therefore all of you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

16:12 And if you have not been true in your care of the property of other people, who will give you that which is yours?
16:12 And if all of you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

16:13 No man may be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other; or he will keep to the one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.
16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.

16:14 ¡Û ¹Ù¸®»õÀεéÀº µ·À» ÁÁ¾ÆÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¶ó ÀÌ ¸ðµç °ÍÀ» µè°í ºñ¿ô°Å´Ã
16:14 And the Pharisees, who had a great love of money, hearing these things, were making sport of him.
16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

16:15 ¿¹¼ö²²¼­ À̸£½ÃµÇ ³ÊÈñ´Â »ç¶÷ ¾Õ¿¡¼­ ½º½º·Î ¿Ç´Ù ÇÏ´Â ÀÚÀ̳ª ³ÊÈñ ¸¶À½À» Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ ¾Æ½Ã³ª´Ï »ç¶÷ Áß¿¡ ³ôÀÓÀ» ¹Þ´Â ±×°ÍÀº Çϳª´Ô ¾Õ¿¡ ¹Ì¿òÀ» ¹Þ´Â °ÍÀ̴϶ó
16:15 And he said, You take care to seem right in the eyes of men, but God sees your hearts: and those things which are important in the opinion of men, are evil in the eyes of God.
16:15 And he said unto them, All of you are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16:16 The law and the prophets were till John: but then came the preaching of the kingdom of God, and everyone makes his way into it by force.
16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presses into it.

16:17 ±×·¯³ª À²¹ýÀÇ ÇÑ È¹ÀÌ ¶³¾îÁüº¸´Ù õÁöÀÇ ¾ø¾îÁüÀÌ ½¬¿ì¸®¶ó
16:17 But heaven and earth will come to an end before the smallest letter of the law may be dropped out.
16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

16:18 ¹«¸© ±× ¾Æ³»¸¦ ¹ö¸®°í ´Ù¸¥ µ¥ Àå°¡µå´Â ÀÚµµ °£À½ÇÔÀÌ¿ä ¹«¸© ¹ö¸®¿î ÀÌ¿¡°Ô Àå°¡µå´Â ÀÚµµ °£À½ÇÔÀ̴϶ó
16:18 Everyone who puts away his wife and takes another, is a false husband: and he who is married to a woman whose husband has put her away, is no true husband to her.
16:18 Whosoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and whosoever marries her that is put away from her husband commits adultery.

16:19 ¡Û ÇÑ ºÎÀÚ°¡ ÀÖ¾î ÀÚ»ö ¿Ê°ú °í¿î º£¿ÊÀ» ÀÔ°í ³¯¸¶´Ù ȣȭ·ÎÀÌ ¿¬¶ôÇϴµ¥
16:19 Now there was a certain man of great wealth, who was dressed in fair clothing of purple and delicate linen, and was shining and glad every day.
16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

16:20 ³ª»ç·Î¶ó À̸§ÇÑ ÇÑ °ÅÁö°¡ Çåµ¥¸¦ ¾ÎÀ¸¸ç ±× ºÎÀÚÀÇ ´ë¹®¿¡ ´©¿ö
16:20 And a certain poor man, named Lazarus, was stretched out at his door, full of wounds,
16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

16:21 ºÎÀÚÀÇ »ó¿¡¼­ ¶³¾îÁö´Â °ÍÀ¸·Î ¹èºÒ¸®·Á ÇϸŠ½ÉÁö¾î °³µéÀÌ ¿Í¼­ ±× Çåµ¥¸¦ ÇÓ´õ¶ó
16:21 Desiring the broken bits of food which came from the table of the man of wealth; and even the dogs came and put their tongues on his wounds.
16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

16:22 ÀÌ¿¡ ±× °ÅÁö°¡ Á×¾î õ»çµé¿¡°Ô ¹Þµé·Á ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÇ Ç°¿¡ µé¾î°¡°í ºÎÀÚµµ Á×¾î Àå»çµÇ¸Å
16:22 And in time the poor man came to his end, and angels took him to Abraham's breast. And the man of wealth came to his end, and was put in the earth.
16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

16:23 Àú°¡ À½ºÎ¿¡¼­ °íÅë Áß¿¡ ´«À» µé¾î ¸Ö¸® ¾Æºê¶óÇÔ°ú ±×ÀÇ Ç°¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ³ª»ç·Î¸¦ º¸°í
16:23 And in hell, being in great pain, lifting up his eyes he saw Abraham, far away, and Lazarus on his breast.
16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

16:24 ºÒ·¯ °¡·ÎµÇ ¾Æ¹öÁö ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÌ¿© ³ª¸¦ ±àÈáÈ÷ ¿©±â»ç ³ª»ç·Î¸¦ º¸³»¾î ±× ¼Õ°¡¶ô ³¡¿¡ ¹°À» Âï¾î ³» Çô¸¦ ¼­´ÃÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ­ ³»°¡ ÀÌ ºÒ²É °¡¿îµ¥¼­ °í¹ÎÇϳªÀÌ´Ù
16:24 And he gave a cry and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may put the end of his finger in water and put it on my tongue, for I am cruelly burning in this flame.
16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

16:25 ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ¾ê ³Ê´Â »ì¾ÒÀ» ¶§¿¡ ³× ÁÁÀº °ÍÀ» ¹Þ¾Ò°í ³ª»ç·Î´Â °í³­À» ¹Þ¾ÒÀ¸´Ï ÀÌ°ÍÀ» ±â¾ïÇ϶ó ÀÌÁ¦ Àú´Â ¿©±â¼­ À§·Î¸¦ ¹Þ°í ³Ê´Â °í¹ÎÀ» ¹Þ´À´Ï¶ó
16:25 But Abraham said, Keep in mind, my son, that when you were living, you had your good things, while Lazarus had evil things: but now, he is comforted and you are in pain.
16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

16:26 ÀÌ»Ó ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ³ÊÈñ¿Í ¿ì¸® »çÀÌ¿¡ Å« ±¸··ÀÌ ³¢¾î ÀÖ¾î ¿©±â¼­ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô °Ç³Ê°¡°íÀÚ Ç쵂 ÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø°í °Å±â¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô °Ç³Ê¿Ã ¼öµµ ¾ø°Ô ÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
16:26 And in addition, there is a deep division fixed between us and you, so that those who might go from here to you are not able to do so, and no one may come from you to us.
16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from behind to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

16:27 °¡·ÎµÇ ±×·¯¸é ±¸Çϳë´Ï ¾Æ¹öÁö¿© ³ª»ç·Î¸¦ ³» ¾Æ¹öÁöÀÇ Áý¿¡ º¸³»¼Ò¼­
16:27 And he said, Father, it is my request that you will send him to my father's house;
16:27 Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house:

16:28 ³» ÇüÁ¦ ´Ù¼¸ÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸´Ï ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô Áõ°ÅÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿© ÀúÈñ·Î ÀÌ °íÅë ¹Þ´Â °÷¿¡ ¿ÀÁö ¾Ê°Ô ÇϼҼ­
16:28 For I have five brothers; and let him give them an account of these things, so that they may not come to this place of pain.
16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

16:29 ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô ¸ð¼¼¿Í ¼±ÁöÀÚµéÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸´Ï ±×µé¿¡°Ô µéÀ»Áö´Ï¶ó
16:29 But Abraham said, They have Moses and the prophets; let them give ear to what they say.
16:29 Abraham says unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

16:30 °¡·ÎµÇ ±×·¸Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´ÏÀÌ´Ù ¾Æ¹öÁö ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÌ¿© ¸¸ÀÏ Á×Àº ÀÚ¿¡°Ô¼­ ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô °¡´Â ÀÚ°¡ ÀÖÀ¸¸é ȸ°³Çϸ®ÀÌ´Ù
16:30 And he said, No, father Abraham, but if someone went to them from the dead, their hearts would be changed.
16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

16:31 °¡·ÎµÇ ¸ð¼¼¿Í ¼±ÁöÀڵ鿡°Ô µèÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¸é ºñ·Ï Á×Àº ÀÚ °¡¿îµ¥¼­ »ì¾Æ³ª´Â ÀÚ°¡ ÀÖÀ»Áö¶óµµ ±ÇÇÔÀ» ¹ÞÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó ÇÏ¿´´Ù ÇϽô϶ó
16:31 And he said to him, If they will not give attention to Moses and the prophets, they will not be moved even if someone comes back from the dead.
16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
