1:1 사사들의 치리하던 때에 그 땅에 흉년이 드니라 유다 베들레헴에 한 사람이
그 아내와 두 아들을 데리고 모압 지방에 가서 우거하였는데
1:1 Now there came a time, in the days of the judges, when there was no food in the
land. And a certain man went from Beth-lehem-judah, he and his wife and his two
sons, to make a living-place in the country of Moab.
1:1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
1:2 그 사람의 이름은 엘리멜렉이요 그 아내의 이름은 나오미요 그 두 아들의
이름은 말론과 기룐이니 유다 베들레헴 에브랏 사람들이더라 그들이 모압 지방에
들어가서 거기 유하더니
1:2 And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name
of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth-lehem-judah. And they came
into the country of Moab, and were there for some time.
1:2 And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.
1:3 나오미의 남편 엘리멜렉이 죽고 나오미와 그 두 아들이 남았으며
1:3 And Elimelech, Naomi's husband, came to his end; and only her two sons were with
her.
1:3 And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.
1:4 그들은 모압 여자 중에서 아내를 취하였는데 하나의 이름은 오르바요 하나의
이름은 룻이더라 거기 거한 지 십 년 즈음에
1:4 And they took two women of Moab as their wives: the name of the one was Orpah, and
the name of the other Ruth; and they went on living there for about ten years.
1:4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
1:5 말론과 기룐 두 사람이 다 죽고 그 여인은 두 아들과 남편의 뒤에 남았더라
1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion came to their end; and the woman was without her two sons
and her husband.
1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.
1:6 ○ 그가 모압 지방에 있어서 여호와께서 자기 백성을 권고하사 그들에게 양식을
주셨다 함을 들었으므로 이에 두 자부와 함께 일어나 모압 지방에서 돌아오려 하여
1:6 So she and her daughters-in-law got ready to go back from the country of Moab, for
news had come to her in the country of Moab that the Lord, in mercy for his people,
had given them food.
1:6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.
1:7 있던 곳을 떠나고 두 자부도 그와 함께 하여 유다 땅으로 돌아오려고 길을
행하다가
1:7 And she went out of the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her;
and they went on their way to go back to the land of Judah.
1:7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.
1:8 나오미가 두 자부에게 이르되 너희는 각각 어미의 집으로 돌아가라 너희가
죽은 자와 나를 선대한 것 같이 여호와께서 너희를 선대하시기를 원하며
1:8 And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, Go back to your mothers' houses: may
the Lord be good to you as you have been good to the dead and to me:
1:8 And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as all of you have dealt with the dead, and with me.
1:9 여호와께서 너희로 각각 남편의 집에서 평안함을 얻게 하시기를 원하노라
하고 그들에게 입맞추매 그들이 소리를 높여 울며
1:9 May the Lord give you rest in the houses of your husbands. Then she gave them a
kiss; and they were weeping bitterly.
1:9 The LORD grant you that all of you may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
1:10 나오미에게 이르되 아니니이다 우리는 어머니와 함께 어머니의 백성에게로
돌아가겠나이다
1:10 And they said to her, No, but we will go back with you to your people.
1:10 And they said unto her, Surely we will return with you unto your people.
1:11 나오미가 가로되 내 딸들아 돌아가라 너희가 어찌 나와 함께 가려느냐 나의
태중에 너희 남편 될 아들들이 오히려 있느냐
1:11 But Naomi said, Go back, my daughters; why will you come with me? Have I more sons
in my body, to become your husbands?
1:11 And Naomi said, Return, my daughters: why will all of you go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?
1:12 내 딸들아 돌이켜 너희 길로 가라 나는 늙었으니 남편을 두지 못할지라 가령
내가 소망이 있다고 말한다든지 오늘 밤에 남편을 두어서 아들들을 생산한다 하자
1:12 Go back, my daughters, and go on your way; I am so old now that I may not have another
husband. If I said, I have hopes, if I had a husband tonight, and might have sons,
1:12 Return, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
1:13 너희가 어찌 그것을 인하여 그들의 자라기를 기다리겠느냐 어찌 그것을 인하여
남편 두기를 멈추겠느냐 내 딸들아 그렇지 아니하니라 여호와의 손이 나를 치셨으므로
나는 너희로 인하여 더욱 마음이 아프도다
1:13 Would you keep yourselves till they were old enough? would you keep from having
husbands for them? No, my daughters; but I am very sad for you that the hand of
the Lord is against me.
1:13 Would all of you tarry for them till they were grown? would all of you stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieves me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
1:14 그들이 소리를 높여 다시 울더니 오르바는 그 시모에게 입맞추되 룻은 그를
붙좇았더라
1:14 Then again they were weeping; and Orpah gave her mother-in-law a kiss, but Ruth
would not be parted from her.
1:14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
1:15 ○ 나오미가 또 가로되 보라 네 동서는 그 백성과 그 신에게로 돌아가나니
너도 동서를 따라 돌아가라
1:15 And Naomi said, See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods:
go back after your sister-in-law.
1:15 And she said, Behold, your sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return you after your sister in law.
1:16 룻이 가로되 나로 어머니를 떠나며 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라 강권하지
마옵소서 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 유숙하시는 곳에서 나도
유숙하겠나이다 어머니의 백성이 나의 백성이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 나의 하나님이
되시리니
1:16 But Ruth said, Give up requesting me to go away from you, or to go back without
you: for where you go I will go; and where you take your rest I will take my rest;
your people will be my people, and your God my God.
1:16 And Ruth said, Implore me not to leave you, or to return from following after you: for where you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge: your people shall be my people, and your God my God:
1:17 어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 장사될 것이라 만일 내가 죽는
일 외에 어머니와 떠나면 여호와께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다
1:17 Wherever death comes to you, death will come to me, and there will be my last resting-place;
the Lord do so to me and more if we are parted by anything but death.
1:17 Where you die, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part you and me.
1:18 나오미가 룻의 자기와 함께 가기로 굳게 결심함을 보고 그에게 말하기를
그치니라
1:18 And when she saw that Ruth was strong in her purpose to go with her she said no
more.
1:18 When she saw that she was steadfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.
1:19 ○ 이에 그 두 사람이 행하여 베들레헴까지 이르니라 베들레헴에 이를 때에
온 성읍이 그들을 인하여 떠들며 이르기를 이가 나오미냐 하는지라
1:19 So the two of them went on till they came to Beth-lehem. And when they came to Beth-lehem
all the town was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi?
1:19 So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi?
1:20 나오미가 그들에게 이르되 나를 나오미라 칭하지 말고 마라라 칭하라 이는
전능자가 나를 심히 괴롭게 하셨음이니라
1:20 And she said to them, Do not let my name be Naomi, but Mara, for the Ruler of all
has given me a bitter fate.
1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.
1:21 내가 풍족하게 나갔더니 여호와께서 나로 비어 돌아오게 하셨느니라 여호와께서
나를 징벌하셨고 전능자가 나를 괴롭게 하셨거늘 너희가 어찌 나를 나오미라 칭하느뇨
하니라
1:21 I went out full, and the Lord has sent me back again with nothing; why do you give
me the name Naomi, seeing that the Lord has given witness against me, and the Ruler
of all has sent sorrow on me?
1:21 I went out full and the LORD has brought me home again empty: why then call all of you me Naomi, seeing the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?
1:22 나오미가 모압 지방에서 그 자부 모압 여인 룻과 함께 돌아왔는데 그들이
보리 추수 시작할 때에 베들레헴에 이르렀더라
1:22 So Naomi came back out of the country of Moab, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law,
with her; and they came to Beth-lehem in the first days of the grain-cutting.
1:22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
2:1 나오미의 남편 엘리멜렉의 친족 중 유력한 자가 있으니 이름은 보아스더라
2:1 And Naomi had a relation of her husband, a man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech;
and his name was Boaz.
2:1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2:2 모압 여인 룻이 나오미에게 이르되 나로 밭에 가게 하소서 내가 뉘게 은혜를
입으면 그를 따라서 이삭을 줍겠나이다 나오미가 그에게 이르되 내 딸아 갈지어다
하매
2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Now let me go into the field and take up the
heads of grain after him in whose eyes I may have grace. And she said to her, Go,
my daughter.
2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
2:3 룻이 가서 베는 자를 따라 밭에서 이삭을 줍는데 우연히 엘리멜렉의 친족
보아스에게 속한 밭에 이르렀더라
2:3 And she went, and came and took up the heads of grain in the field after the cutters;
and by chance she went into that part of the field which was the property of Boaz,
who was of the family of Elimelech.
2:3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
2:4 마침 보아스가 베들레헴에서부터 와서 베는 자들에게 이르되 여호와께서 너희와
함께 하시기를 원하노라 그들이 대답하되 여호와께서 당신에게 복 주시기를 원하나이다
2:4 And Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said to the grain-cutters, The Lord be with you.
And they made answer, The Lord give you his blessing.
2:4 And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD bless you.
2:5 보아스가 베는 자들을 거느린 사환에게 이르되 이는 뉘 소녀냐
2:5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was in authority over the cutters, Whose girl
is this?
2:5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?
2:6 베는 자를 거느린 사환이 대답하여 가로되 이는 나오미와 함께 모압 지방에서
돌아온 모압 소녀인데
2:6 And the servant who was in authority over the cutters said, It is a Moabite girl
who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab;
2:6 And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
2:7 그의 말이 나로 베는 자를 따라 단 사이에서 이삭을 줍게 하소서 하였고 아침부터
와서는 잠시 집에서 쉰 외에 지금까지 계속하는 중이니이다
2:7 And she said to me, Let me come into the grain-field and take up the grain after
the cutters. So she came, and has been here from morning till now, without resting
even for a minute.
2:7 And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.
2:8 ○ 보아스가 룻에게 이르되 내 딸아 들으라 이삭을 주우러 다른 밭으로 가지
말며 여기서 떠나지 말고 나의 소녀들과 함께 있으라
2:8 Then said Boaz to Ruth, Give ear to me, my daughter: do not go to take up the grain
in another field, or go away from here, but keep here by my young women:
2:8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hear you not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from behind, but abide here fast by my maidens:
2:9 그들의 베는 밭을 보고 그들을 따르라 내가 그 소년들에게 명하여 너를 건드리지
말라 하였느니라 목이 마르거든 그릇에 가서 소년들의 길어 온 것을 마실지니라
2:9 Keep your eyes on the field they are cutting, and go after them; have I not given
orders to the young men not to put a hand on you? And when you are in need of drink
go to the vessels and take of what the young men have put there.
2:9 Let yours eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go you after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch you? and when you are thirsty, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
2:10 룻이 땅에 엎드려 절하며 그에게 이르되 나는 이방 여인이어늘 당신이 어찌하여
내게 은혜를 베푸시며 나를 돌아보시나이까
2:10 Then she went down on her face to the earth, and said to him, Why have I grace in
your eyes, that you give attention to me, seeing I am from a strange people?
2:10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in yours eyes, that you should take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
2:11 보아스가 그에게 대답하여 가로되 네 남편이 죽은 후로 네가 시모에게 행한
모든 것과 네 부모와 고국을 떠나 전에 알지 못하던 백성에게로 온 일이 내게 분명히
들렸느니라
2:11 And Boaz answering said to her, I have had news of everything you have done for
your mother-in-law after the death of your husband; how you went away from your
father and mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people who are strange
to you.
2:11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It has fully been showed me, all that you have done unto your mother in law since the death of yours husband: and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your nativity, and are come unto a people which you knew not in time past.
2:12 여호와께서 네 행한 일을 보응하시기를 원하며 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서
그 날개 아래 보호를 받으러 온 네게 온전한 상 주시기를 원하노라
2:12 The Lord give you a reward for what you have done, and may a full reward be given
to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take cover.
2:12 The LORD recompense your work, and a full reward be given you of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you are come to trust.
2:13 룻이 가로되 내 주여 내가 당신께 은혜 입기를 원하나이다 나는 당신의 시녀의
하나와 같지 못하오나 당신이 이 시녀를 위로하시고 마음을 기쁘게 하는 말씀을 하셨나이다
2:13 Then she said, May I have grace in your eyes, my lord, for you have given me comfort,
and you have said kind words to your servant, though I am not like one of your servants.
2:13 Then she said, Let me find favour in your sight, my lord; for that you have comforted me, and for that you have spoken friendly unto yours handmaid, though I be not like unto one of yours handmaidens.
2:14 ○ 식사할 때에 보아스가 룻에게 이르되 이리로 와서 떡을 먹으며 네 떡
조각을 초에 찍으라 룻이 곡식 베는 자 곁에 앉으니 그가 볶은 곡식을 주매 룻이
배불리 먹고 남았더라
2:14 And at meal-time Boaz said to her, Come here, and take some of the bread, and put
your bit into the wine. And she took her seat among the grain-cutters: and he gave
her dry grain, and she took it, and there was more than enough for her meal.
2:14 And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come you here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
2:15 룻이 이삭을 주우러 일어날 때에 보아스가 자기 소년들에게 명하여 가로되
그로 곡식 단 사이에서 줍게 하고 책망하지 말며
2:15 And when she got ready to take up the grain, Boaz gave his young men orders, saying,
Let her take it even from among the cut grain, and say nothing to her.
2:15 And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
2:16 또 그를 위하여 줌에서 조금씩 뽑아 버려서 그로 줍게 하고 꾸짖지 말라
하니라
2:16 And let some heads of grain be pulled out of what has been corded up, and dropped
for her to take, and let no sharp word be said to her.
2:16 And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.
2:17 ○ 룻이 밭에서 저녁까지 줍고 그 주운 것을 떠니 보리가 한 에바쯤 되는지라
2:17 So she went on getting together the heads of grain till evening; and after crushing
out the seed it came to about an ephah of grain.
2:17 So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
2:18 그것을 가지고 성읍에 들어가서 시모에게 그 주운 것을 보이고 그 배불리
먹고 남긴 것을 내어 시모에게 드리매
2:18 And she took it up and went into the town; and she let her mother-in-law see what
she had got, and after taking enough for herself she gave her the rest.
2:18 And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed.
2:19 시모가 그에게 이르되 오늘 어디서 주웠느냐 어디서 일을 하였느냐 너를
돌아본 자에게 복이 있기를 원하노라 룻이 누구에게서 일한 것을 시모에게 알게 하여
가로되 오늘 일하게 한 사람의 이름은 보아스니이다
2:19 And her mother-in-law said to her, Where did you take up the grain today, and where
were you working? May a blessing be on him who gave such attention to you. And she
gave her mother-in-law an account of where she had been working, and said, The name
of the man with whom I was working today is Boaz.
2:19 And her mother in law said unto her, Where have you gleaned to day? and where wrought you? blessed be he that did take knowledge of you. And she showed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man's name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
2:20 나오미가 자부에게 이르되 여호와의 복이 그에게 있기를 원하노라 그가 생존한
자와 사망한 자에게 은혜 베풀기를 그치지 아니하도다 나오미가 또 그에게 이르되
그 사람은 우리의 근족이니 우리 기업을 무를 자 중 하나이니라
2:20 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, May the blessing of the Lord, who has at
all times been kind to the living and to the dead, be on him. And Naomi said to
her, The man is of our family, one of our near relations.
2:20 And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.
2:21 모압 여인 룻이 가로되 그가 내게 또 이르기를 내 추수를 다 마치기까지
너는 내 소년들에게 가까이 있으라 하더이다
2:21 And Ruth the Moabitess said, Truly, he said to me, Keep near my young men till all
my grain is cut.
2:21 And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said unto me also, You shall keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
2:22 나오미가 자부 룻에게 이르되 내 딸아 너는 그 소녀들과 함께 나가고 다른
밭에서 사람을 만나지 아니하는 것이 좋으니라
2:22 And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, It is better, my daughter, for you
to go out with his servant-girls, so that no danger may come to you in another field.
2:22 And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, that they meet you not in any other field.
2:23 이에 룻이 보아스의 소녀들에게 가까이 있어서 보리 추수와 밀 추수를 마치기까지
이삭을 주우며 그 시모와 함께 거하니라
2:23 So she kept near the servant-girls of Boaz to take up the grain till the cutting
of the early grain and the cutting of the late grain were ended; and she went on
living with her mother-in-law.
2:23 So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
3:1 룻의 시모 나오미가 그에게 이르되 내 딸아 내가 너를 위하여 안식할 곳을
구하여 너로 복되게 하여야 하지 않겠느냐
3:1 And Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, My daughter, am I not to get you a resting-place
where you may be in comfort?
3:1 Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
3:2 네가 함께 하던 시녀들을 둔 보아스는 우리의 친족이 아니냐 그가 오늘 밤에
타작 마당에서 보리를 까불리라
3:2 And now, is there not Boaz, our relation, with whose young women you were? See,
tonight he is separating the grain from the waste in his grain-floor.
3:2 And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he winnows barley to night in the threshing floor.
3:3 그런즉 너는 목욕하고 기름을 바르고 의복을 입고 타작 마당에 내려가서 그
사람이 먹고 마시기를 다 하기까지는 그에게 보이지 말고
3:3 So take a bath, and, after rubbing your body with sweet oil, put on your best robe,
and go down to the grain-floor; but do not let him see you till he has come to the
end of his meal.
3:3 Wash yourself therefore, and anoint you, and put your raiment upon you, and get you down to the floor: but make not yourself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
3:4 그가 누울 때에 너는 그 눕는 곳을 알았다가 들어가서 그 발치 이불을 들고
거기 누우라 그가 너의 할 일을 네게 고하리라
3:4 But see to it, when he goes to rest, that you take note of the place where he is
sleeping, and go in there, and, uncovering his feet, take your place by him; and
he will say what you are to do.
3:4 And it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall mark the place where he shall lie, and you shall go in, and uncover his feet, and lay you down; and he will tell you what you shall do.
3:5 룻이 시모에게 이르되 어머니의 말씀대로 내가 다 행하리이다 하니라
3:5 And she said, I will do all you say.
3:5 And she said unto her, All that you says unto me I will do.
3:6 ○ 그가 타작 마당으로 내려가서 시모의 명대로 다 하니라
3:6 So she went down to the grain-floor and did all her mother-in-law had said to her.
3:6 And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.
3:7 보아스가 먹고 마시고 마음이 즐거워서 가서 노적가리 곁에 눕는지라 룻이
가만히 가서 그 발치 이불을 들고 거기 누웠더라
3:7 Now when Boaz had taken meat and drink, and his heart was glad, he went to take
his rest at the end of the mass of grain; then she came softly and, uncovering his
feet, went to rest.
3:7 And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.
3:8 밤중에 그 사람이 놀라 몸을 돌이켜 본즉 한 여인이 자기 발치에 누웠는지라
3:8 Now in the middle of the night, the man awaking from his sleep in fear, and lifting
himself up, saw a woman stretched at his feet.
3:8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.
3:9 가로되 네가 누구뇨 대답하되 나는 당신의 시녀 룻이오니 당신의 옷자락으로
시녀를 덮으소서 당신은 우리 기업을 무를 자가 됨이니이다
3:9 And he said, Who are you? And she answering said, I am your servant Ruth: take your
servant as wife, for you are a near relation.
3:9 And he said, Who are you? And she answered, I am Ruth yours handmaid: spread therefore your skirt over yours handmaid; for you are a near kinsman.
3:10 가로되 내 딸아 여호와께서 네게 복 주시기를 원하노라 네가 빈부를 물론하고
연소한 자를 좇지 아니하였으니 너의 베푼 인애가 처음보다 나중이 더하도다
3:10 And he said, May the Lord give you his blessing, my daughter: even better than what
you did at the first is this last kind act you have done, in not going after young
men, with or without wealth.
3:10 And he said, Blessed be you of the LORD, my daughter: for you have showed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as you followed not young men, whether poor or rich.
3:11 내 딸아 두려워 말라 내가 네 말대로 네게 다 행하리라 네가 현숙한 여자인
줄 나의 성읍 백성이 다 아느니라
3:11 And now, my daughter, have no fear; I will do for you whatever you say: for it is
clear to all my townspeople that you are a woman of virtue.
3:11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to you all that you require: for all the city of my people does know that you are a virtuous woman.
3:12 참으로 나는 네 기업을 무를 자나 무를 자가 나보다 더 가까운 친족이 있으니
3:12 Now it is true that I am a near relation: but there is a relation nearer than I.
3:12 And now it is true that I am your near kinsman: nevertheless there is a kinsman nearer than I.
3:13 이 밤에 여기서 머무르라 아침에 그가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 이행하려
하면 좋으니 그가 그 기업 무를 자의 책임을 행할 것이니라 만일 그가 기업 무를
자의 책임을 네게 이행코자 아니하면 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노니 내가 기업 무를
자의 책임을 네게 행하리라 아침까지 누울지니라
3:13 Take your rest here tonight; and in the morning, if he will do for you what it is
right for a relation to do, very well, let him do so: but if he will not, then by
the living Lord I myself will do so.
3:13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto you the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to you, then will I do the part of a kinsman to you, as the LORD lives: lie down until the morning.
3:14 ○ 룻이 새벽까지 그 발치에 누웠다가 사람이 피차 알아보기 어려울 때에
일어났으니 보아스의 말에 여인이 타작 마당에 들어온 것을 사람이 알지 못하여야
할 것이라 하였음이라
3:14 And she took her rest at his feet till the morning: and she got up before it was
light enough for one to see another. And he said, Let it not come to anyone's knowledge
that the woman came to the grain-floor.
3:14 And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
3:15 보아스가 가로되 네 겉옷을 가져다가 펴서 잡으라 펴서 잡으니 보리를 여섯
번 되어 룻에게 이워주고 성으로 들어가니라
3:15 And he said, Take your robe, stretching it out in your hands: and she did so, and
he took six measures of grain and put them into it, and gave it her to take: and
she went back to the town.
3:15 Also he said, Bring the vail that you have upon you, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
3:16 룻이 시모에게 이르니 그가 가로되 내 딸아 어떻게 되었느냐 룻이 그 사람의
자기에게 행한 것을 다 고하고
3:16 And when she came back her mother-in-law said to her, How did it go with you, my
daughter? And she gave her an account of all the man had done to her.
3:16 And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who are you, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
3:17 가로되 그가 내게 이 보리를 여섯 번 되어 주며 이르기를 빈손으로 네 시모에게
가지 말라 하더이다
3:17 And she said, He gave me these six measures of grain, saying, Do not go back to
your mother-in-law with nothing in your hands.
3:17 And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto your mother in law.
3:18 이에 시모가 가로되 내 딸아 이 사건이 어떻게 되는 것을 알기까지 가만히
앉아 있으라 그 사람이 오늘날 이 일을 성취하기 전에는 쉬지 아니하리라
3:18 Then she said, Do nothing now, my daughter, till you see what will come of this;
for the man will take no rest till he has put this thing through.
3:18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
4:1 보아스가 성문에 올라가서 거기 앉았더니 마침 보아스의 말하던 기업 무를
자가 지나는지라 보아스가 그에게 이르되 아무여 이리로 와서 앉으라 그가 와서 앉으매
4:1 And Boaz went up to the public place of the town, and took his seat there: and the
near relation of whom he had been talking came by; and Boaz, crying out to him by
name, said, Come and be seated here. And he came and was seated.
4:1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spoke came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
4:2 보아스가 성읍 장로 십 인을 청하여 가로되 당신들은 여기 앉으라 그들이 앉으매
4:2 Then he got ten of the responsible men of the town, and said, Be seated here. And
they took their seats.
4:2 And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit all of you down here. And they sat down.
4:3 보아스가 그 기업 무를 자에게 이르되 모압 지방에서 돌아온 나오미가 우리
형제 엘리멜렉의 소유지를 관할하므로
4:3 Then he said to the near relation, Naomi, who has come back from the country of
Moab, is offering for a price that bit of land which was our brother Elimelech's:
4:3 And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that has come again out of the country of Moab, sells a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's:
4:4 내가 여기 앉은 자들과 내 백성의 장로들 앞에서 그것을 사라고 네게 고하여
알게 하려 하였노라 네가 무르려면 무르려니와 네가 무르지 아니하려거든 내게 고하여
알게 하라 네 다음은 나요 그 외에는 무를 자가 없느니라 그가 가로되 내가 무르리라
4:4 And it was in my mind to give you the chance of taking it, with the approval of
those seated here and of the responsible men of my people. If you are ready to do
what it is right for a relation to do, then do it: but if you will not do it, say
so to me now; for there is no one who has the right to do it but you, and after
you myself. And he said, I will do it.
4:4 And I thought to advertise you, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, redeem it: but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside you; and I am after you. And he said, I will redeem it.
4:5 보아스가 가로되 네가 나오미의 손에서 그 밭을 사는 날에 곧 죽은 자의 아내
모압 여인 룻에게서 사서 그 죽은 자의 기업을 그 이름으로 잇게 하여야 할지니라
4:5 Then Boaz said, On the day when you take this field, you will have to take with
it Ruth, the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, so that you may keep the name of the
dead living in his heritage.
4:5 Then said Boaz, What day you buy the field of the hand of Naomi, you must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.
4:6 그 기업 무를 자가 가로되 나는 내 기업에 손해가 있을까 하여 나를 위하여
무르지 못하노니 나의 무를 권리를 네가 취하라 나는 무르지 못하겠노라
4:6 And the near relation said, I am not able to do the relation's part, for fear of
damaging the heritage I have: you may do it in my place, for I am not able to do
it myself.
4:6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I ruin mine own inheritance: redeem you my right to yourself; for I cannot redeem it.
4:7 ○ 옛적 이스라엘 중에 모든 것을 무르거나 교환하는 일을 확정하기 위하여
사람이 그 신을 벗어 그 이웃에게 주더니 이것이 이스라엘의 증명하는 전례가 된지라
4:7 Now, in earlier times this was the way in Israel when property was taken over by
a near relation, or when there was a change of owner. To make the exchange certain
one man took off his shoe and gave it to the other; and this was a witness in Israel.
4:7 Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, in order to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.
4:8 이에 그 기업 무를 자가 보아스에게 이르되 네가 너를 위하여 사라 하고 그
신을 벗는지라
4:8 So the near relation said to Boaz, Take it for yourself. And he took off his shoe.
4:8 Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for you. So he drew off his shoe.
4:9 보아스가 장로들과 모든 백성에게 이르되 내가 엘리멜렉과 기룐과 말론에게
있던 모든 것을 나오미의 손에서 산 일에 너희가 오늘날 증인이 되었고
4:9 Then Boaz said to the responsible men and to all the people, You are witnesses today
that I have taken at a price from Naomi all the property which was Elimelech's,
and everything which was Chilion's and Mahlon's.
4:9 And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, All of you are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.
4:10 또 말론의 아내 모압 여인 룻을 사서 나의 아내로 취하고 그 죽은 자의 기업을
그 이름으로 잇게 하여 그 이름이 그 형제 중과 그 곳 성문에서 끊어지지 않게 함에
너희가 오늘날 증인이 되었느니라
4:10 And, further, I have taken Ruth, the Moabitess, who was the wife of Mahlon, to be
my wife, to keep the name of the dead man living in his heritage, so that his name
may not be cut off from among his countrymen, and from the memory of his town: you
are witnesses this day.
4:10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: all of you are witnesses this day.
4:11 성문에 있는 모든 백성과 장로들이 가로되 우리가 증인이 되노니 여호와께서
네 집에 들어가는 여인으로 이스라엘 집을 세운 라헬, 레아 두 사람과 같게 하시고
너로 에브랏에서 유력하고 베들레헴에서 유명케 하시기를 원하며
4:11 And all the people who were in the public place, and the responsible men, said,
We are witnesses. May the Lord make this woman, who is about to come into your house,
like Rachel and Leah, which two were the builders of the house of Israel: and may
you have wealth in Ephrathah, and be great in Beth-lehem;
4:11 And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that has come into yours house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do you worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:
4:12 여호와께서 이 소년 여자로 네게 후사를 주사 네 집으로 다말이 유다에게
낳아준 베레스의 집과 같게 하시기를 원하노라
4:12 May your family be like the family of Perez, the son whom Tamar gave to Judah, from
the offspring which the Lord may give you by this young woman.
4:12 And let your house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give you of this young woman.
4:13 ○ 이에 보아스가 룻을 취하여 아내를 삼고 그와 동침하였더니 여호와께서
그로 잉태케 하시므로 그가 아들을 낳은지라
4:13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and he went in to her, and the Lord made
her with child and she gave birth to a son.
4:13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
4:14 여인들이 나오미에게 이르되 찬양할지로다 여호와께서 오늘날 네게 기업
무를 자가 없게 아니하셨도다 이 아이의 이름이 이스라엘 중에 유명하게 되기를 원하노라
4:14 And the women said to Naomi, A blessing on the Lord, who has not let you be this
day without a near relation, and may his name be great in Israel.
4:14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which has not left you this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
4:15 이는 네 생명의 회복자며 네 노년의 봉양자라 곧 너를 사랑하며 일곱 아들보다
귀한 자부가 낳은 자로다
4:15 He will be a giver of new life to you, and your comforter when you are old, for
your daughter-in-law, who, in her love for you, is better than seven sons, has given
birth to him.
4:15 And he shall be unto you a restorer of your life, and a nourisher of yours old age: for your daughter in law, which loves you, which is better to you than seven sons, has born him.
4:16 나오미가 아기를 취하여 품에 품고 그의 양육자가 되니
4:16 And Naomi took the child and put her arms round it, and she took care of it.
4:16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
4:17 그 이웃 여인들이 그에게 이름을 주되 나오미가 아들을 낳았다 하여 그 이름을
오벳이라 하였는데 그는 다윗의 아비인 이새의 아비였더라
4:17 And the women who were her neighbours gave it a name, saying, Naomi has a child;
and they gave him the name of Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
4:17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
4:18 ○ 베레스의 세계는 이러하니라 베레스는 헤스론을 낳았고
4:18 Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron;
4:18 Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez brings forth Hezron,
4:19 헤스론은 람을 낳았고 람은 암미나답을 낳았고
4:19 And Hezron became the father of Ram, and Ram became the father of Amminadab;
4:19 And Hezron brings forth Ram, and Ram brings forth Amminadab,
4:20 암미나답은 나손을 낳았고 나손은 살몬을 낳았고
4:20 And Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon became the father of Salmon;
4:20 And Amminadab brings forth Nahshon, and Nahshon brings forth Salmon,
4:21 살몬은 보아스를 낳았고 보아스는 오벳을 낳았고
4:21 And Salmon became the father of Boaz, and Boaz became the father of Obed;
4:21 And Salmon brings forth Boaz, and Boaz brings forth Obed,
4:22 오벳은 이새를 낳았고 이새는 다윗을 낳았더라
4:22 And Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David.
4:22 And Obed brings forth Jesse, and Jesse brings forth David.
