17:1 ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÌ ¶Ç ¾Ð»ì·Ò¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ÀÌÁ¦ ³ª·Î ÇÏ¿©±Ý »ç¶÷ Àϸ¸ ÀÌõÀ» ÅÃÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ­ ¿À´Ã ¹ã¿¡ ³»°¡ ÀϾ¼­ ´ÙÀ­ÀÇ µÚ¸¦ µû¶ó
17:1 Then Ahithophel said to Absalom, Let me take out twelve thousand men and this very night I will go after David:
17:1 Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

17:2 Àú°¡ °ïÇÏ°í ¾àÇÒ ¶§¿¡ ¾ö½ÀÇÏ¿© Àú¸¦ ¹«¼·°Ô ÇÑÁï Àú¿Í ÇÔ²² ÀÖ´Â ¸ðµç ¹é¼ºÀÌ µµ¸ÁÇϸ®´Ï ³»°¡ ´ÙÀ­ ¿Õ¸¸ ÃÄÁ×ÀÌ°í
17:2 And I will come up with him when he is tired and feeble, and make him full of fear: and all the people with him will go in flight; and I will make an attack on the king only:
17:2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will strike the king only:

17:3 ¸ðµç ¹é¼ºÀ¸·Î ¿Õ²² µ¹¾Æ¿À°Ô Çϸ®´Ï ¹«¸®ÀÇ µ¹¾Æ¿À±â´Â ¿ÕÀÇ Ã£´Â ÀÌ »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ´Þ·ÈÀ½À̶ó ±×¸®ÇÏ¸é ¸ðµç ¹é¼ºÀÌ Æò¾ÈÇϸ®ÀÌ´Ù
17:3 And I will make all the people come back to you as a bride comes back to her husband: it is the life of only one man you are going after; so all the people will be at peace.
17:3 And I will bring back all the people unto you: the man whom you seek is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

17:4 ¾Ð»ì·Ò°ú À̽º¶ó¿¤ Àå·ÎµéÀÌ ´Ù ±× ¸»À» ¿Ç°Ô ¿©±â´õ¶ó
17:4 And the saying was pleasing to Absalom and to the responsible men of Israel.
17:4 And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

17:5 ¡Û ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀÌ À̸£µÇ ¾Æ·º »ç¶÷ ÈÄ»õµµ ºÎ¸£¶ó ¿ì¸®°¡ ÀúÀÇ ¸»µµ µèÀÚ Çϴ϶ó
17:5 Then Absalom said, Now send for Hushai the Archite, and let us give ear to what he has to say.
17:5 Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he says.

17:6 ÈÄ»õ°¡ ¾Ð»ì·Ò¿¡°Ô À̸£¸Å ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀÌ Àú¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÌ ¿©Â÷¿©Â÷È÷ ¸»ÇÏ´Ï ¿ì¸®°¡ ±× ¸»´ë·Î ÇàÇÏ·ª ±×·¸Áö ¾Ê°Åµç ³Ê´Â ¸»Ç϶ó
17:6 And when Hushai came, Absalom said to him, This is what Ahithophel has said: are we to do as he says? if not, what is your suggestion?
17:6 And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spoke unto him, saying, Ahithophel has spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak you.

17:7 ÈÄ»õ°¡ ¾Ð»ì·Ò¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ À̶§¿¡´Â ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÇ º£Ç¬ ¸ð·«ÀÌ ¼±Ä¡ ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´ÏÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ°í
17:7 And Hushai said to Absalom, Ahithophel's idea is not a good one at this time.
17:7 And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time.

17:8 ¶Ç ¸»Ç쵂 ¿Õµµ ¾Æ½Ã°Å´Ï¿Í ¿ÕÀÇ ºÎÄ£°ú ±× Á¾ÀÚµéÀº ¿ë»ç¶ó ÀúÈñ´Â µé¿¡ ÀÖ´Â °õÀÌ »õ³¢¸¦ »©¾Ñ±ä °Í °°ÀÌ °ÝºÐÇÏ¿´°í ¿ÕÀÇ ºÎÄ£Àº º´¹ý¿¡ ÀÍÀº »ç¶÷ÀÎÁï ¹é¼º°ú ÇÔ²² ÀÚÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í
17:8 Hushai said further, You have knowledge of your father and his men, that they are men of war, and that their feelings are bitter, like those of a bear in the field whose young ones have been taken from her: and your father is a man of war, and will not take his night's rest with the people;
17:8 For, said Hushai, you know your father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

17:9 ÀÌÁ¦ ¾î´À ±¼¿¡³ª ¾î´À °÷¿¡ ¼û¾î ÀÖÀ¸¸®´Ï Ȥ ¹«¸® Áß¿¡ ¸îÀÌ ¸ÕÀú ¾þµå·¯Áö¸é ±× ¼Ò¹®À» µè´Â ÀÚ°¡ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀ» ÁÀ´Â ÀÚ °¡¿îµ¥¼­ ÆÐÇÔÀ» ´çÇÏ¿´´Ù ÇÒÁö¶ó
17:9 But he will certainly have taken cover now in some hole or secret place; and if some of our people, at the first attack, are overcome, then any hearing of it will say, There is destruction among the people who are on Absalom's side.
17:9 Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever hears it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

17:10 ºñ·Ï ¿ë°¨ÇÏ¿© »çÀÚ °°Àº ÀÚÀÇ ¸¶À½ÀÌ¶óµµ Àú»óÇϸ®´Ï ÀÌ´Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¹«¸®°¡ ¿ÕÀÇ ºÎÄ£Àº ¿µ¿õÀÌ¿ä ±× Á¾Àڵ鵵 ¿ë»çÀÎ ÁÙ ¾ÍÀÌ´ÏÀÌ´Ù
17:10 Then even the strongest, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will become like water; for all Israel is conscious that your father is a man of war, and those who are with him are strong and without fear.
17:10 And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

17:11 ³ªÀÇ ¸ð·«Àº ÀÌ·¯ÇÏ´ÏÀÌ´Ù ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤À» ´ÜºÎÅÍ ºê¿¤¼¼¹Ù±îÁö ¹Ù´å°¡ÀÇ ¸¹Àº ¸ð·¡ °°ÀÌ ¿Õ²²·Î ¸ðÀ¸°í Ä£È÷ ÀüÀå¿¡ ³ª°¡½Ã°í
17:11 But my suggestion is that all Israel, from Dan as far as Beer-sheba, comes together to you, a great army like the sands of the sea in number; and that you yourself go out among them.
17:11 Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in yours own person.

17:12 ¿ì¸®°¡ ±× ¸¸³¯ ¸¸ÇÑ °÷¿¡¼­ Àú¸¦ ¾ö½ÀÇϱ⸦ À̽½ÀÌ ¶¥¿¡ ³»¸² °°ÀÌ ÀúÀÇ À§¿¡ µ¤¿© Àú¿Í ±× ÇÔ²² ÀÖ´Â ¸ðµç »ç¶÷À» Çϳªµµ ³²°Ü µÎÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¿ä
17:12 Then we will come on him in some place, wherever he may be, falling on him as the dew comes on the earth: and of him and all the men who are with him not one will get away with his life.
17:12 So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falls on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.

17:13 ¶Ç ¸¸ÀÏ Àú°¡ ¾î´À ¼º¿¡ µé¾úÀ¸¸é ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÌ ÁÙÀ» °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ±× ¼ºÀ» °­À¸·Î ²ø¾îµé¿©¼­ ±× °÷¿¡ ÇÑ ÀÛÀº µ¹µµ º¸ÀÌÁö ¾Ê°Ô ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ´ÏÀÌ´Ù ÇϸÅ
17:13 And if he has gone into some town, then let all Israel take strong cords to that town, and we will have it pulled into the valley, till not one small stone is to be seen there.
17:13 Moreover, if he be got into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

17:14 ¾Ð»ì·Ò°ú ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ »ç¶÷µéÀÌ À̸£µÇ ¾Æ·º »ç¶÷ ÈÄ»õÀÇ ¸ð·«Àº ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÇ ¸ð·«º¸´Ù ³´´Ù ÇÏ´Ï ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¾Ð»ì·Ò¿¡°Ô È­¸¦ ³»¸®·Á ÇÏ»ç ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÇ ÁÁÀº ¸ð·«À» ÆÄÇϱâ·Î ÀÛÁ¤ÇϼÌÀ½ÀÌ´õ¶ó
17:14 Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, Hushai's suggestion is better than that of Ahithophel. For it was the purpose of the Lord to make the wise designs of Ahithophel without effect, so that the Lord might send evil on Absalom.
17:14 And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

17:15 ¡Û ÀÌ¿¡ ÈÄ»õ°¡ »çµ¶°ú ¾Æºñ¾Æ´Þ µÎ Á¦»çÀå¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÌ ¾Ð»ì·Ò°ú À̽º¶ó¿¤ Àå·Îµé¿¡°Ô ¿©Â÷¿©Â÷È÷ ¸ð·«À» º£Ç®¾ú°í ³ªµµ ¿©Â÷¿©Â÷È÷ ¸ð·«À» º£Ç®¾úÀ¸´Ï
17:15 Then Hushai said to Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, This is the suggestion made by Ahithophel to Absalom and the responsible men of Israel, and this is what I said to them.
17:15 Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.

17:16 ÀÌÁ¦ ³ÊÈñ´Â »¡¸® »ç¶÷À» º¸³»¾î ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô °íÇϱ⸦ ¿À´Ã ¹ã¿¡ ±¤¾ß ³ª·íÅÍ¿¡¼­ ÀÚÁö ¸¶½Ã°í ¾Æ¹«ÂÉ·Ï °Ç³Ê°¡¼Ò¼­ Ç϶ó Ȥ½Ã ¿Õ°ú ±× ÁÀ´Â ÀÚµéÀÌ ¸ô»çÇÒ±î Çϳë¶ó Çϴ϶ó
17:16 So now send the news quickly to David, and say, Do not take your night's rest by the way across the river to the waste land, but be certain to go over; or the king and all the people with him will come to destruction.
17:16 Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

17:17 ±× ¶§¿¡ ¿ä³ª´Ü°ú ¾ÆÈ÷¸¶¾Æ½º°¡ »ç¶÷ÀÌ º¼±î µÎ·Á¿öÇÏ¿© °¨È÷ ¼º¿¡ µé¾î°¡Áö ¸øÇÏ°í ¿¡´À·Î°Ö °¡¿¡ ¸Ó¹°°í ¾î¶² °èÁýÁ¾Àº ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô ³ª¿Í¼­ °íÇÏ°í ÀúÈñ´Â °¡¼­ ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô °íÇÏ´õ´Ï
17:17 Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were waiting by En-rogel; and a servant-girl went from time to time and gave them news and they went with the news to King David, for it was not wise for them to let themselves be seen coming into the town.
17:17 Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a maid servant went and told them; and they went and told king David.

17:18 ÇÑ ¼Ò³âÀÌ ÀúÈñ¸¦ º¸°í ¾Ð»ì·Ò¿¡°Ô °íÇÑÁö¶ó ±× µÎ »ç¶÷ÀÌ »¡¸® ´Þ·Á¼­ ¹ÙÈĸ² ¾î¶² »ç¶÷ÀÇ ÁýÀ¸·Î µé¾î°¡¼­ ±× ¶ã¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¿ì¹° ¼ÓÀ¸·Î ³»·Á°¡´Ï
17:18 But a boy saw them, and gave word of it to Absalom: so the two of them went away quickly, and came to the house of a man in Bahurim who had a water-hole in his garden, and they went down into it.
17:18 Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; where they went down.

17:19 ±× Áý ¿©ÀÎÀÌ µ¤À» °ÍÀ» °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ¿ì¹° ¾Æ±¸¸¦ µ¤°í ÂöÀº °î½ÄÀ» ±× À§¿¡ ³Î¸Å µµ¹«Áö ¾ËÁö ¸øÇÒ·¯¶ó
17:19 And a woman put a cover over the hole, and put crushed grain on top of it, and no one had any knowledge of it.
17:19 And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.

17:20 ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀÇ Á¾µéÀÌ ±× Áý¿¡ ¿Í¼­ ¿©Àο¡°Ô ¹¯µÇ ¾ÆÈ÷¸¶ÇϽº¿Í ¿ä³ª´ÜÀÌ ¾îµð ÀÖ´À³Ä ¿©ÀÎÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ±×µéÀÌ ½Ã³»¸¦ °Ç³Ê°¡´õ¶ó ÇÏ´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ ã¾Æµµ ¸¸³ªÁö ¸øÇÏ°í ¿¹·ç»ì·½À¸·Î µ¹¾Æ°¡´Ï¶ó
17:20 And Absalom's servants came to the woman at the house and said, Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said to them, They have gone from here to the stream. And after searching for them, and seeing nothing of them, they went back to Jerusalem.
17:20 And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

17:21 ¡Û ÀúÈñ°¡ °£ ÈÄ¿¡ µÎ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¿ì¹°¿¡¼­ ¿Ã¶ó¿Í¼­ ´ÙÀ­ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô À̸£·¯ °íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ´ç½ÅµéÀº ÀϾ »¡¸® ¹°À» °Ç³Ê°¡¼Ò¼­ ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÌ ´ç½ÅµéÀ» ÇØÇÏ·Á°í ¿©Â÷¿©Â÷È÷ ¸ð·«À» º£Ç®¾ú³ªÀÌ´Ù
17:21 Then after the servants had gone away, they came up out of the water-hole and went to give King David the news; and they said, Get up and go quickly over the water, for such and such are Ahithophel's designs against you.
17:21 And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you.

17:22 ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ÀϾ ¸ðµç ¹é¼º°ú ÇÔ²² ¿ä´ÜÀ» °Ç³Î»õ »õº®¿¡ ¹ÌÃļ­ ÇÑ »ç¶÷µµ ¿ä´ÜÀ» °Ç³ÊÁö ¸øÇÑ ÀÚ°¡ ¾ø¾ú´õ¶ó
17:22 So David and all the people who were with him went up over Jordan: when dawn came, every one of them had gone over Jordan.
17:22 Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

17:23 ¾ÆÈ÷µµº§ÀÌ Àڱ⠸ð·«ÀÌ ½ÃÇàµÇÁö ¸øÇÔÀ» º¸°í ³ª±Í¿¡ ¾ÈÀåÀ» Áö¿ì°í ¶°³ª °íÇâÀ¸·Î µ¹¾Æ°¡¼­ ÀÚ±â Áý¿¡ À̸£·¯ ÁýÀ» Á¤¸®ÇÏ°í ½º½º·Î ¸ñ¸Å¾î Á×À¸¸Å ±× ¾Æºñ ¹¦¿¡ Àå»çµÇ´Ï¶ó
17:23 Now when Ahithophel saw that his suggestion was not acted on, he got his ass ready, and went back to his house, to the town where he came from, and having put his house in order, he put himself to death by hanging; so he came to his end and was put in the resting-place of his father.
17:23 And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and got him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

17:24 ¡Û ÀÌ¿¡ ´ÙÀ­Àº ¸¶ÇϳªÀÓ¿¡ À̸£°í ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀº ¸ðµç À̽º¶ó¿¤ »ç¶÷°ú ÇÔ²² ¿ä´ÜÀ» °Ç³Ê´Ï¶ó
17:24 And David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom, with all the men of Israel, went over Jordan.
17:24 Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

17:25 ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀÌ ¾Æ¸¶»ç·Î ¿ä¾ÐÀ» ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ±ºÀåÀ» »ïÀ¸´Ï¶ó ¾Æ¸¶»ç´Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ »ç¶÷ À̵å¶ó¶ó ÇÏ´Â ÀÚÀÇ ¾ÆµéÀ̶ó À̵å¶ó°¡ ³ªÇϽºÀÇ µþ ¾Æºñ°¥°ú µ¿Ä§ÇÏ¿© Àú¸¦ ³º¾ÒÀ¸¸ç ¾Æºñ°¥Àº ¿ä¾ÐÀÇ ¾î¹Ì ½º·ç¾ßÀÇ µ¿»ýÀÌ´õ¶ó
17:25 And Absalom put Amasa at the head of the army in place of Joab. Now Amasa was the son of a man named Ithra the Ishmaelite, who had been the lover of Abigail, the daughter of Jesse, sister of Zeruiah, Joab's mother.
17:25 And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.

17:26 ÀÌ¿¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¹«¸®¿Í ¾Ð»ì·ÒÀÌ ±æ¸£¾Ñ ¶¥¿¡ Áø Ä¡´Ï¶ó
17:26 And Israel and Absalom put up their tents in the land of Gilead.
17:26 So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

17:27 ¡Û ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ¸¶ÇϳªÀÓ¿¡ À̸£·¶À» ¶§¿¡ ¾Ï¸ó Á·¼Ó¿¡°Ô ¼ÓÇÑ ¶ø¹Ù »ç¶÷ ³ªÇϽºÀÇ ¾Æµé ¼Òºñ¿Í ·Îµ¥¹ß »ç¶÷ ¾Ï¹Ì¿¤ÀÇ ¾Æµé ¸¶±æ°ú ·Î±Û¸² ±æ¸£¾Ñ »ç¶÷ ¹Ù¸£½Ç·¡°¡
17:27 Now when David had come to Mahanaim, Shobi, the son of Nahash of Rabbah, the Ammonite, and Machir, the son of Ammiel of Lo-debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,
17:27 And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

17:28 ħ»ó°ú ´ë¾ß¿Í Áú±×¸©°ú ¹Ð°ú º¸¸®¿Í ¹Ð°¡·ç¿Í ººÀº °î½Ä°ú Äá°ú ÆÏ°ú ººÀº ³ìµÎ¿Í
17:28 Came with beds and basins and pots, and grain and meal, and all sorts of dry foods,
17:28 Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and parched vegetables,

17:29 ²Ü°ú »µ´õ¿Í ¾ç°ú Ä¡½º¸¦ °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ´ÙÀ­°ú ±× ÇÔ²² ÇÑ ¹é¼ºÀ¸·Î ¸Ô°Ô ÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ÀÌ´Â ÀúÈñ »ý°¢¿¡ ¹é¼ºÀÌ µé¿¡¼­ ½ÃÀåÇÏ°í °ïÇÏ°í ¸ñ¸¶¸£°Ú´Ù ÇÔÀÌ´õ¶ó
17:29 And honey and butter and sheep and milk-cheeses, for David and his people: for they said, This people is in the waste land, needing food and drink and rest.
17:29 And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of cattle, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.

18:1 ÀÌ¿¡ ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ±× ÇÔ²² ÇÑ ¹é¼ºÀ» °è¼öÇÏ°í õºÎÀå°ú ¹éºÎÀåÀ» ±× À§¿¡ ¼¼¿ì°í
18:1 And David had the people who were with him numbered, and he put over them captains of thousands and captains of hundreds.
18:1 And David numbered the people that were with him, and set captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds over them.

18:2 And David sent the people out, a third of them under the orders of Joab, and a third under the orders of Abishai, son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third under Ittai the Gittite. And the king said to the people, And I myself will certainly go out with you.
18:2 And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

18:3 But the people said, It is better for you not to go out: for if we are put to flight, they will not give a thought to us, and if death overtakes half of us, it will be nothing to them: but you are of more value than ten thousand of us: so it is better for you to be ready to come to our help from this town.
18:3 But the people answered, You shall not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now you are worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that you help us out of the city.

18:4 And the king said to them, I will do whatever seems best to you. So the king took his place by the door of the town, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.
18:4 And the king said unto them, What seems you best I will do. And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands.

18:5 And the king gave orders to Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Because of me, be gentle to the young man Absalom. And this order about Absalom was given in the hearing of all the people.
18:5 And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.

18:6 ÀÌ¿¡ ¹é¼ºÀÌ À̽º¶ó¿¤À» Ä¡·¯ µé·Î ³ª°¡¼­ ¿¡ºê¶óÀÓ ¼öÇ®¿¡¼­ ½Î¿ì´õ´Ï
18:6 So the people went out into the field against Israel, and the fight took place in the woods of Ephraim.

18:7 And the people of Israel were overcome there by the servants of David, and there was a great destruction that day, and twenty thousand men were put to the sword.
18:7 Where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand men.

18:8 And the fighting went on over all the face of the country: and the woods were responsible for more deaths than the sword.
18:8 For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.

18:9 And Absalom came across some of David's men. And Absalom was seated on his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great tree, and his head became fixed in the tree and he was lifted up between earth and heaven, and the beast under him went on.
18:9 And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.

18:10 And a certain man saw it and said to Joab, I saw Absalom hanging in a tree.
18:10 And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.

18:11 And Joab said to the man who had given him the news, If you saw this, why did you not put your sword through him, and I would have given you ten bits of silver and a band for your robe?
18:11 And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, you saw him, and why did you not strike him there to the ground? and I would have given you ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.

18:12 And the man said to Joab, Even if you gave me a thousand bits of silver, I would not put out my hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king gave orders to you and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Take care that the young man Absalom is not touched.
18:12 And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged you and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.

18:13 And if I had falsely put him to death (and nothing may be kept secret from the king), you would have had nothing to do with me.
18:13 Otherwise I should have wrought falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the king, and you yourself would have set yourself against me.

18:14 Then Joab said, I would have made it safe for you. And he took three spears in his hand, and put them through Absalom's heart, while he was still living, in the branches of the tree.
18:14 Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with you. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.

18:15 And ten young men, servants of Joab, came round Absalom and put an end to him.
18:15 And ten young men that bare Joab's armour compassed about and stroke Absalom, and slew him.

18:16 And Joab had the horn sounded, and the people came back from going after Israel, for Joab kept them back.
18:16 And Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel: for Joab held back the people.

18:17 And they took Absalom's body and put it into a great hole in the wood, and put a great mass of stones over it: and every man of Israel went in flight to his tent.
18:17 And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and laid a very great heap of stones upon him: and all Israel fled every one to his tent.

18:18 Now Absalom, before his death, had put up for himself a pillar in the king's valley, naming it after himself; for he said, I have no son to keep my name in memory: and to this day it is named Absalom's pillar.
18:18 Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the king's dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalom's place.

18:19 Then Ahimaaz, the son of Zadok, said, Let me go and give the king news of how the Lord has done right in his cause against those who took up arms against him.
18:19 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD has avenged him of his enemies.

18:20 And Joab said, You will take no news today; another day you may give him the news, but you will take no news today, because the king's son is dead.
18:20 And Joab said unto him, You shall not bear tidings this day, but you shall bear tidings another day: but this day you shall bear no tidings, because the king's son is dead.

18:21 Then Joab said to the Cushite, Go and give the king word of what you have seen. And the Cushite, making a sign of respect to Joab, went off running.
18:21 Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what you have seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.

18:22 Then Ahimaaz, the son of Zadok, said to Joab again, Whatever may come of it, let me go after the Cushite. And Joab said, Why have you a desire to go, my son, seeing that you will get no reward for your news?
18:22 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray you, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore will you run, my son, seeing that you have no tidings ready?

18:23 Whatever may come of it, he said, I will go. Then he said to him, Go. So Ahimaaz went running by the lowland road and overtook the Cushite.
18:23 But howsoever, said he, let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and outran Cushi.

18:24 Now David was seated between the two town doors; and the watchman went up to the roof of the doorways, on the wall, and, lifting up his eyes, saw a man running by himself.
18:24 And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.

18:25 Æļý±ºÀÌ ¿ÜÃÄ ¿Õ²² °íÇϸŠ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ Àú°¡ ¸¸ÀÏ È¥ÀÚ¸é ±× ÀÔ¿¡ ¼Ò½ÄÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸®¶ó ÇÒ ¶§¿¡ Àú°¡ Â÷Â÷ °¡±îÀÌ ¿À´Ï¶ó
18:25 And the watchman gave news of it to the king. And the king said, If he is coming by himself, then he has news. And the man was travelling quickly, and came near.
18:25 And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. And he came swiftly, and drew near.

18:26 Then the watchman saw another man running: and crying out in the direction of the door he said, Here is another man running by himself. And the king said, He, like the other, comes with news.
18:26 And the watchman saw another man running: and the watchman called unto the gate keeper, and said, Behold another man running alone. And the king said, He also brings tidings.

18:27 Æļý±ºÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ³ª º¸±â¿¡´Â ¾Õ¼± »ç¶÷ÀÇ ´ÞÀ½ÁúÀÌ »çµ¶ÀÇ ¾Æµé ¾ÆÈ÷¸¶¾Æ½ºÀÇ ´ÞÀ½Áú°ú °°À¸´ÏÀÌ´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ Àú´Â ÁÁÀº »ç¶÷ÀÌ´Ï ÁÁÀº ¼Ò½ÄÀ» °¡Á®¿À´À´Ï¶ó
18:27 And the watchman said, It seems to me that the running of the first is like the running of Ahimaaz, the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and his news will be good.
18:27 And the watchman said, It seems to me that the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and comes with good tidings.

18:28 And Ahimaaz, crying out to the king, said, It is well. And falling down before the king, with his face to the earth, he said, May the Lord your God be praised, who has given up the men who took up arms against my lord the king!
18:28 And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD your God, which has delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

18:29 And the king said, Is it well with the young man Absalom? And Ahimaaz said in answer, When Joab sent me, your servant, I saw a great outcry going on, but I had no knowledge of what it was.
18:29 And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king's servant, and me your servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was.

18:30 And the king said, Get back and take your place here. So turning to one side, he took his place there.

18:31 And then the Cushite came and said, I have news for my lord the king: today the Lord has done right in your cause against all those who took up arms against you.

18:32 And the king said to the Cushite, Is the young man Absalom safe? And the Cushite said in answer, May all the king's haters and those who do evil against the king, be as that young man is!
18:32 And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against you to do you hurt, be as that young man is.

18:33 Then the king was much moved, and went up into the room over the door, weeping, and saying, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! if only my life might have been given for yours, O Absalom, my son, my son!

19:1 And word was given to Joab that the king was weeping and sorrowing for Absalom.
19:1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Absalom.

19:2 And the salvation of that day was changed to sorrow for all the people: for it was said to the people, The king is in bitter grief for his son.
19:2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

19:3 And the people made their way back to the town quietly and secretly, as those who are shamed go secretly when they go in flight from the war.
19:3 And the people got them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

19:5 And Joab came into the house to the king and said, Today you have put to shame the faces of all your servants who even now have kept you and your sons and your daughters and your wives and all your women safe from death;
19:5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, You have shamed this day the faces of all your servants, which this day have saved your life, and the lives of your sons and of your daughters, and the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines;

19:6 For your haters, it seems, are dear to you, and your friends are hated. For you have made it clear that captains and servants are nothing to you: and now I see that if Absalom was living and we had all been dead today, it would have been right in your eyes.
19:6 In that you love yours enemies, and hate your friends. For you have declared this day, that you regard neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased you well.

19:7 So get up now, and go out and say some kind words to your servants; for, by the Lord, I give you my oath, that if you do not go out, not one of them will keep with you tonight; and that will be worse for you than all the evil which has overtaken you from your earliest years.
19:7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto your servants: for I swear by the LORD, if you go not forth, there will not tarry one with you this night: and that will be worse unto you than all the evil that befell you from your youth until now.

19:8 Then the king got up and took his seat near the town-door. And word was given to all the people that the king was in the public place: and all the people came before the king. Now all the men of Israel had gone back in flight to their tents.
19:8 Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king does sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

19:9 And through all the tribes of Israel the people were having arguments, saying, The king made us safe from the hands of those who were against us and made us free from the hands of the Philistines; and now he has gone in flight from the land, because of Absalom.
19:9 And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

19:10 And Absalom, whom we made a ruler over us, is dead in the fight. So now why do you say nothing about getting the king back? And word of what all Israel was saying came to the king.
19:10 And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak all of you not a word of bringing the king back?

19:11 And King David sent word to Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, Say to the responsible men of Judah, Why are you the last to take steps to get the king back to his house?
19:11 And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are all of you the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel has come to the king, even to his house.

19:12 You are my brothers, my bone and my flesh; why are you the last to get the king back again?
19:12 All of you are my brethren, all of you are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are all of you the last to bring back the king?

19:13 And say to Amasa, Are you not my bone and my flesh? May God's punishment be on me, if I do not make you chief of the army before me at all times in place of Joab!
19:13 And say all of you to Amasa, Are you not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if you be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.

19:14 And the hearts of the men of Judah were moved like one man; so that they sent to the king, saying, Come back, with all your servants.
19:14 And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return you, and all your servants.

19:15 So the king came back, and came as far as Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, meeting the king there, to take him back with them over Jordan.

19:16 And Shimei, the son of Gera, the Benjamite from Bahurim, got up quickly and went down with the men of Judah for the purpose of meeting King David;
19:16 And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.

19:17 And with him a thousand men of Benjamin, and Ziba, the servant of Saul, with his fifteen sons and twenty servants, came rushing to Jordan before the king,
19:17 And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.

19:18 And kept going across the river to take the people of the king's house over, and to do whatever was desired by the king. And Shimei, the son of Gera, went down on his face in the dust before the king, when he was about to go over Jordan,
19:18 And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king's household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

19:19 And said to him, Let me not be judged as a sinner in your eyes, O my lord, and do not keep in mind the wrong I did on the day when my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, or take it to heart.
19:19 And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do you remember that which your servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

19:20 For your servant is conscious of his sin: and so, as you see, I have come today, the first of all the sons of Joseph, for the purpose of meeting my lord the king.
19:20 For your servant does know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

19:21 But Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, said, Is not death the right fate for Shimei, because he has been cursing the one marked by the holy oil?
19:21 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD's anointed?

19:22 And David said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you put yourselves against me today? is it right for any man in Israel to be put to death today? for I am certain today that I am king in Israel.
19:22 And David said, What have I to do with you, all of you sons of Zeruiah, that all of you should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel?

19:24 And Mephibosheth, the son of Saul's son, came down for the purpose of meeting the king; his feet had not been cared for or his hair cut or his clothing washed from the day when the king went away till the day when he came back in peace.
19:24 And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

19:25 And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore went not you with me, Mephibosheth?

19:26 And he said in answer, Because of the deceit of my servant, my lord king: for I, your servant, said to him, You are to make ready an ass and on it I will go with the king, for your servant has not the use of his feet.
19:26 And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for your servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because your servant is lame.

19:28 For all my father's family were only dead men before my lord the king: and still you put your servant among those whose place is at the king's table. What right then have I to say anything more to the king?

19:41 Then the men of Israel came to the king and said, Why have our countrymen of Judah taken you away in secret and come over Jordan with the king and all his family, because all his people are David's men?

19:42 And all the men of Judah gave this answer to the men of Israel, Because the king is our near relation: why then are you angry about this? have we taken any of the king's food, or has he given us any offering?

19:43 And in answer to the men of Judah, the men of Israel said, We have ten parts in the king, and we are the first in order of birth: why did you make nothing of us? and were we not the first to make suggestions for getting the king back? And the words of the men of Judah were more violent than the words of the men of Israel.

20:1 Now by chance there was present a good-for-nothing person named Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he, sounding the horn, said, We have no part in David, or any interest in the son of Jesse: let every man go to his tent, O Israel.
20:1 And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.

20:2 So all the men of Israel, turning away from David, went after Sheba, the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah were true to their king, going with him from Jordan as far as Jerusalem.
20:2 So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

20:3 And David came to his house at Jerusalem: and the king took the ten women to whom he had given the care of the house, and had them shut up, and gave them the necessaries of life, but did not go near them. So they were shut up till the day of their death, living as widows.
20:3 And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.

20:4 Then the king said to Amasa, Get all the men of Judah together, and in three days be here yourself.
20:4 Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be you here present.

20:5 So Amasa went to get all the men of Judah together, but he took longer than the time David had given him.

20:6 And David said to Abishai, Sheba, the son of Bichri, will do us more damage than Absalom did; so take some of your lord's servants and go after him, before he makes himself safe in the walled towns, and gets away before our eyes.
20:6 And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take you your lord's servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.

20:7 So there went after Abishai, Joab and the Cherethites and the Pelethites and all the fighting-men; they went out of Jerusalem to overtake Sheba, the son of Bichri.
20:7 And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

20:8 When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa came face to face with them. Now Joab had on his war-dress, and round him a band from which his sword was hanging in its cover; and while he was walking, it came out, falling to the earth.
20:8 When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.

20:9 And Joab said to Amasa, Is it well, my brother? And with his right hand he took him by the hair of his chin to give him a kiss.

20:10 But Amasa did not see danger from the sword which was now in Joab's left hand, and Joab put it through his stomach so that his inside came out on to the earth, and he did not give him another blow. So Joab and his brother Abishai went on after Sheba, the son of Bichri.
20:10 But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand: so he stroke him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

20:12 And Amasa was stretched out in a pool of blood in the middle of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people were stopping, he took Amasa out of the highway and put him in a field, with a cloth over him, when he saw that everyone who went by came to a stop.
20:12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.

20:13 When he had been taken off the road, all the people went on after Joab in search of Sheba, the son of Bichri.
20:13 When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

20:14 And Sheba went through all the tribes of Israel, to Abel of Beth-maacah; and all the Bichrites came together and went in after him.
20:14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel unto Abel, and to Bethmaachah, and all the Berites: and they were gathered together, and went also after him.

20:15 And Joab and his men got him shut up in Abel of Beth-maacah, and put up an earthwork against the town: and all Joab's men did their best to get the wall broken down.
20:15 And they came and besieged him in Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.

20:16 Then a wise woman got up on the wall, and crying out from the town, said, Give ear, give ear; say now to Joab, Come near, so that I may have talk with you.

20:17 And he came near, and the woman said, Are you Joab? And he said in answer, I am. Then she said, Give ear to your servant's words. And he said, I am giving ear.
20:17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Are you Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of yours handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.

20:18 Then she said, In the old days, there was a saying, Let them put the question in Abel and in Dan, saying, Has what was ordered by men of good faith in Israel ever come to an end?
20:18 Then she spoke, saying, They were known to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.

20:19 Your purpose is the destruction of a mother-town in Israel: why would you put an end to the heritage of the Lord?
20:19 I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: you seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why will you swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?

20:20 And Joab, answering her, said, Far, far be it from me to be a cause of death or destruction;
20:20 And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

20:21 Not so: but a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, Sheba, son of Bichri, by name, has taken up arms against the king, against David: give up this man only, and I will go away from the town. And the woman said to Joab, His head will be dropped over the wall to you.
20:21 The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to you over the wall.

20:22 Then the woman in her wisdom had talk with all the town. And they had Sheba's head cut off and sent out to Joab. And he had the horn sounded, and sent them all away from the town, every man to his tent. And Joab went back to Jerusalem to the king.
20:22 Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.

21:1 ´ÙÀ­ÀÇ ½Ã´ë¿¡ ³âºÎ³â »ï ³â ±â±ÙÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¹Ç·Î ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ¿©È£¿Í ¾Õ¿¡ °£±¸ÇϸŠ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ °¡¶ó»ç´ë ÀÌ´Â »ç¿ï°ú ÇǸ¦ È기 ±× ÁýÀ» ÀÎÇÔÀÌ´Ï Àú°¡ ±âºê¿Â »ç¶÷À» Á׿´À½À̴϶ó ÇϽô϶ó
21:1 In the days of David they were short of food for three years, year after year; and David went before the Lord for directions. And the Lord said, On Saul and on his family there is blood, because he put the Gibeonites to death.
21:1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

21:2 Then the king sent for the Gibeonites; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but were the last of the Amorites, to whom the children of Israel had given an oath; but Saul, in his passion for the children of Israel and Judah, had made an attempt on their lives:)
21:2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)

21:3 So David said to the Gibeonites, What may I do for you? how am I to make up to you for your wrongs, so that you may give a blessing to the heritage of the Lord?
21:3 Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that all of you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?

21:4 And the Gibeonites said to him, It is not a question of silver and gold between us and Saul or his family; and it is not in our power to put to death any man in Israel. And he said, Say, then, what am I to do for you?
21:4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shall you kill any man in Israel. And he said, What all of you shall say, that will I do for you.

21:5 ÀúÈñ°¡ ¿Õ²² °íÇ쵂 ¿ì¸®¸¦ ÇлìÇÏ¿´°í ¶Ç ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¸êÇÏ¿© À̽º¶ó¿¤ °æ³»¿¡ ¸Ó¹°Áö ¸øÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ·Á°í ¸ðÇØÇÑ »ç¶÷ÀÇ
21:5 And they said to the king, As for the man by whom we were wasted, and who made designs against us to have us completely cut off from the land of Israel,
21:5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,

21:6 ÀÚ¼Õ ÀÏ°öÀ» ³»¾î ÁÖ¼Ò¼­ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »©½Å »ç¿ïÀÇ °íÀ» ±âºê¾Æ¿¡¼­ ¿ì¸®°¡ ÀúÈñ¸¦ ¿©È£¿Í ¾Õ¿¡¼­ ¸ñ¸Å¾î ´Þ°Ú³ªÀÌ´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ ³»¾î ÁÖ¸®¶ó Çϴ϶ó
21:6 Let seven men of his family be given up to us and we will put an end to them by hanging them before the Lord in Gibeon, on the hill of the Lord. And the king said, I will give them.
21:6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.

21:7 But the king did not give up Mephibosheth, the son of Saul's son Jonathan, because of the Lord's oath made between David and Jonathan, the son of Saul.
21:7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

21:8 But the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Saul to whom Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah, had given birth; and the five sons of Saul's daughter Merab, whose father was Adriel, the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
21:8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:

21:9 ÀúÈñ¸¦ ±âºê¿Â »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙÀÌ´Ï ±âºê¿Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ ÀúÈñ¸¦ »ê À§¿¡¼­ ¿©È£¿Í ¾Õ¿¡ ¸ñ¸Å¾î ´Þ¸Å ÀúÈñ ÀÏ°ö »ç¶÷ÀÌ ÇÔ²² Á×À¸´Ï Á×Àº ¶§´Â °î½Ä º£´Â óÀ½ ³¯ °ð º¸¸® º£±â ½ÃÀÛÇÏ´Â ¶§´õ¶ó
21:9 And he gave them up to the Gibeonites, and they put them to death, hanging them on the mountain before the Lord; all seven came to their end together in the first days of the grain-cutting, at the start of the cutting of the barley.
21:9 And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

21:10 And Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah, took haircloth, placing it on the rock as a bed for herself, from the start of the grain-cutting till rain came down on them from heaven; and she did not let the birds of the air come near them by day, or the beasts of the field by night.
21:10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.

21:11 And news was given to David of what Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah, one of Saul's wives, had done.
21:11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.

21:12 ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ °¡¼­ »ç¿ïÀÇ »À¿Í ±× ¾Æµé ¿ä³ª´ÜÀÇ »À¸¦ ±æ¸£¾Ñ ¾ßº£½º »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô¼­ ÃëÇÏ´Ï ÀÌ´Â Àü¿¡ ºí·¹¼Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ »ç¿ïÀ» ±æº¸¾Æ¿¡¼­ Á׿© ºª»ê °Å¸®¿¡ ¸Å¾î ´Ü °ÍÀ» ÀúÈñ°¡ °¡¸¸È÷ °¡Á®¿Â °ÍÀ̶ó
21:12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had taken them away secretly from the public place of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had put them, hanging up the bodies there on the day when they put Saul to death in Gilboa:
21:12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:

21:13 And he took the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan from that place; and they got together the bones of those who had been put to death by hanging.
21:13 And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

21:14 And they put them with the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the resting-place of Kish, his father, in Zela in the country of Benjamin; they did all the king had given them orders to do. And after that, God gave ear to their prayers for the land.
21:14 And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the tomb of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was implored for the land.

21:15 And the Philistines went to war again with Israel; and David went down with his people, and while they were at Gob they had a fight with the Philistines:
21:15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.

21:17 But Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, came to his help, and, turning on the Philistine, gave him his death-blow. Then David's men took an oath, and said, Never again are you to go out with us to the fight, so that you may not put out the light of Israel.
21:17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and stroke the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore unto him, saying, You shall go no more out with us to battle, that you quench not the light of Israel.

21:18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

21:19 And again there was war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan, the son of Jair the Beth-lehemite, put to death Goliath the Gittite, the stem of whose spear was like a cloth-worker's rod.
21:19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

21:20 And again there was war at Gath, where there was a very tall man, who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six fingers on his hands and six toes on his feet; he was one of the offspring of the Rephaim.
21:20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

22:1 And David made a song to the Lord in these words, on the day when the Lord made him free from the hands of all his haters, and from the hand of Saul:
22:1 And David spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

22:3 My God, my Rock, in him will I put my faith; my breastplate, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my safe place; my saviour, who keeps me safe from the violent man.
22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; you save me from violence.

22:4 I will send up my cry to the Lord, who is to be praised; so will I be made safe from those who are against me.
22:4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

22:7 In my trouble my voice went up to the Lord, and my cry to my God: my voice came to his hearing in his holy Temple, and my prayer came to his ears.
22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

22:8 Then the earth was moved with a violent shock; the bases of heaven were moved and shaking, because he was angry.

22:9 There went up a smoke from his nose, and a fire of destruction from his mouth: coals were lighted by it.
22:9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

22:13 Before his shining light his dark clouds went past, raining ice and coals of fire.

22:16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

22:18 He made me free from my strong hater, from those who were against me, because they were stronger than I.

22:25 Because of this the Lord has given me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean in his eyes.
22:25 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

22:26 On him who has mercy you will have mercy; to the upright you will be upright;
22:26 With the merciful you will show yourself merciful, and with the upright man you will show yourself upright.

22:27 He who is holy will see that you are holy; but to the man whose way is not straight you will be a hard judge.
22:27 With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the perverse you will show yourself unpleasing.

23:1 Now these are the last words of David. David, the son of Jesse, says, the man who was lifted up on high, the man on whom the God of Jacob put the holy oil, the loved one of Israel's songs, says:
23:1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

23:5 For is not my house so with God? For he has made with me an eternal agreement, ordered in all things and certain: as for all my salvation and all my desire, will he not give it increase?
23:5 Although my house be not so with God; yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

23:8 These are the names of David's men of war: Ishbaal the Hachmonite, chief of the three; his axe was lifted up against eight hundred put to death at one time.
23:8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at the same.

23:9 After him was Eleazar, the son of Dodai the Ahohite, one of the three great fighters, who was with David in Pas-dammim when the Philistines came together there for the fight; and when the men of Israel had gone in flight,
23:9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

23:10 He was with David and went on fighting the Philistines till his hand became tired and stiff from gripping his sword: and that day the Lord gave a great salvation, and the people came back after him only to take the goods of the Philistines.
23:10 He arose, and stroke the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

23:11 After him was Shammah, the son of Ela the Hararite. And the Philistines came together in Lehi, where there was a bit of land full of seed; and the people went in flight from the Philistines.
23:11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentils: and the people fled from the Philistines.

23:13 And three of the thirty went down at the start of the grain-cutting, and they came to David at the strong place of Adullam; and the band of Philistines had taken up their position in the valley of Rephaim.
23:13 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

23:16 And the three men, forcing their way through the Philistine army, got water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem, by the doorway into the town, and took it back to David: but he would not take it, but, draining it out, made an offering of it to the Lord.
23:16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

23:17 And he said, Far be it from me, O Lord, to do this; how may I take as my drink the life-blood of men who have put their lives in danger? So he would not take it. These things did the three great men of war.
23:17 And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

24:1 Again the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and moving David against them, he said, Go, take the number of Israel and Judah.
24:1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.

24:2 And the king said to Joab and the captains of the army, who were with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan as far as Beer-sheba, and have all the people numbered, so that I may be certain of the number of the people.

24:3 And Joab said to the king, Whatever the number of the people, may the Lord make it a hundred times as much, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it: but why does my lord the king take pleasure in doing this thing?
24:3 And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD your God add unto the people, no matter how many they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?

24:4 But the king's order was stronger than Joab and the captains of the army. And Joab and the captains of the army went out from the king, to take the number of the children of Israel.
24:4 Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.

24:5 And they went over Jordan, and starting from Aroer, from the town which is in the middle of the valley, they went in the direction of the Gadites, and on to Jazer;
24:5 And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lies in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:

24:6 Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of the Hittites under Hermon; and they came to Dan, and from Dan they came round to Zidon,

24:7 And to the walled town of Tyre, and to all the towns of the Hivites and the Canaanites: and they went out to the South of Judah at Beer-sheba.
24:7 And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beersheba.

24:8 So after going through all the land in every direction, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

24:9 And Joab gave the king the number of all the people: there were in Israel eight hundred thousand fighting men able to take up arms; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand.
24:9 And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

24:10 And after the people had been numbered, David's heart was troubled. And David said to the Lord, Great has been my sin in doing this; but now, O Lord, be pleased to take away the sin of your servant, for I have done very foolishly
24:10 And David's heart stroke him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I plead to you, O LORD, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.

24:11 And David got up in the morning; now the word of the Lord had come to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,
24:11 For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,

24:12 °¡¼­ ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡ ³»°¡ ³×°Ô ¼¼ °¡Áö¸¦ º¸À̳ë´Ï ³Ê´Â ±× Áß¿¡¼­ Çϳª¸¦ ÅÃÇÏ¶ó ³»°¡ ±×°ÍÀ» ³×°Ô ÇàÇϸ®¶ó Çϼ̴٠Ç϶ó
24:12 Go and say to David, The Lord says, Three things are offered to you: say which of them you will have, and I will do it to you.
24:12 Go and say unto David, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things; choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.

24:13 °«ÀÌ ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô À̸£·¯ °íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ÕÀÇ ¶¥¿¡ Ä¥ ³â ±â±ÙÀÌ ÀÖÀ» °ÍÀÌ´ÏÀ̱î Ȥ½Ã ¿ÕÀÌ ¿ÕÀÇ ´ëÀû¿¡°Ô ÂÑ°Ü ¼® ´ÞÀ» ±× ¾Õ¿¡¼­ µµ¸ÁÇÏ½Ç °ÍÀÌ´ÏÀ̱î Ȥ½Ã ¿ÕÀÇ ¶¥¿¡ »ï ÀÏ µ¿¾È ¿Â¿ªÀÌ ÀÖÀ» °ÍÀÌ´ÏÀÌ±î ¿ÕÀº »ý°¢ÇÏ¿© º¸°í ³ª¸¦ º¸³»½Å ÀÌ¿¡°Ô ´ë´äÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ­
24:13 So Gad came to David, and gave him word of this and said to him, Are there to be three years when there is not enough food in your land? or will you go in flight from your haters for three months, while they go after you? or will you have three days of violent disease in your land? take thought and say what answer I am to give to him who sent me.
24:13 So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto you in your land? or will you flee three months before yours enemies, while they pursue you? or that there be three days' pestilence in your land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

24:14 ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ °«¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³»°¡ °ï°æ¿¡ ÀÖµµ´Ù ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­´Â ±àÈáÀÌ Å©½Ã´Ï ¿ì¸®°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºüÁö°í ³»°¡ »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºüÁöÁö ¾Ê±â¸¦ ¿øÇϳë¶ó
24:14 And David said to Gad, This is a hard decision for me to make: let us come into the hands of the Lord, for great are his mercies: let me not come into the hands of men.
24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

24:15 ÀÌ¿¡ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±× ¾ÆħºÎÅÍ Á¤ÇϽŠ¶§±îÁö ¿Â¿ªÀ» À̽º¶ó¿¤¿¡°Ô ³»¸®½Ã´Ï ´ÜºÎÅÍ ºê¿¤¼¼¹Ù±îÁö ¹é¼ºÀÇ Á×Àº ÀÚ°¡ Ä¥¸¸ ÀÎÀ̶ó
24:15 So David made selection of the disease; and the time was the days of the grain-cutting, when the disease came among the people, causing the death of seventy thousand men from Dan as far as Beer-sheba.
24:15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

24:16 And when the hand of the angel was stretched out in the direction of Jerusalem, for its destruction, the Lord had regret for the evil, and said to the angel who was sending destruction on the people, It is enough; do no more. And the angel of the Lord was by the grain-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
24:16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now yours hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.

24:17 ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ¹é¼ºÀ» Ä¡´Â õ»ç¸¦ º¸°í °ð ¿©È£¿Í²² ¾Æ·Ú¾î °¡·ÎµÇ ³ª´Â ¹üÁËÇÏ¿´°í ¾ÇÀ» ÇàÇÏ¿´»ð°Å´Ï¿Í ÀÌ ¾ç ¹«¸®´Â ¹«¾ùÀ» ÇàÇÏ¿´³ªÀ̱î ûÄÁ´ë ÁÖÀÇ ¼ÕÀ¸·Î ³ª¿Í ³» ¾ÆºñÀÇ ÁýÀ» Ä¡¼Ò¼­ Çϴ϶ó
24:17 And when David saw the angel who was causing the destruction of the people, he said to the Lord, Truly, the sin is mine; I have done wrong: but these are only sheep; what have they done? let your hand be against me and against my family.
24:17 And David spoke unto the LORD when he saw the angel that stroke the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let yours hand, I pray you, be against me, and against my father's house.

24:18 ¡Û ÀÌ ³¯¿¡ °«ÀÌ ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô À̸£·¯ °íÇ쵂 ¿Ã¶ó°¡¼­ ¿©ºÎ½º »ç¶÷ ¾Æ¶ó¿ì³ªÀÇ Å¸ÀÛ ¸¶´ç¿¡¼­ ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ´ÜÀ» ½×À¸¼Ò¼­ ÇϸÅ
24:18 And that day Gad came to David and said to him, Go up, and put up an altar to the Lord on the grain-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
24:18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

24:19 ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸íÇϽŠ¹Ù °«ÀÇ ¸»´ë·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡´Ï¶ó
24:19 So David went up, as Gad had said and as the Lord had given orders.
24:19 And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.

24:20 And Araunah, looking out, saw the king and his servants coming to him: and Araunah went out, and went down on his face to the earth before the king.
24:20 And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.

24:21 °¡·ÎµÇ ¾îÂîÇÏ¿© ³» ÁÖ ¿Õ²²¼­ Á¾¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇϽóªÀÌ±î ´ÙÀ­ÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ³×°Ô¼­ ŸÀÛ ¸¶´çÀ» »ç¼­ ¿©È£¿Í²² ´ÜÀ» ½×¾Æ ¹é¼º¿¡°Ô ³»¸®´Â Àç¾ÓÀ» ±×Ä¡°Ô ÇÏ·Á ÇÔÀ̷ζó
24:21 And Araunah said, Why has my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To give you a price for your grain-floor, so that I may put up an altar to the Lord, and the disease may be stopped among the people.
24:21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing floor of you, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

24:22 ¾Æ¶ó¿ì³ª°¡ ´ÙÀ­¿¡°Ô °íÇ쵂 ¿øÄÁ´ë ³» ÁÖ ¿ÕÀº ÁÁ°Ô ¿©±â½Ã´Â ´ë·Î ÃëÇÏ¿© µå¸®¼Ò¼­ ¹øÁ¦¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿©´Â ¼Ò°¡ ÀÖ°í ¶ª ³ª¹«¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿©´Â ¸¶´çÁúÇÏ´Â Á¦±¸¿Í ¼ÒÀÇ ¸Û¿¡°¡ ÀÖ³ªÀÌ´Ù
24:22 And Araunah said to David, Let my lord the king take whatever seems right to him, and make an offering of it: see, here are the oxen for the burned offering, and the grain-cleaning instruments and the ox-yokes for wood:
24:22 And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.

24:23 ¿ÕÀÌ¿© ¾Æ¶ó¿ì³ª°¡ ÀÌ°ÍÀ» ´Ù ¿Õ²² µå¸®³ªÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ°í ¶Ç ¿Õ²² °íÇ쵂 ¿ÕÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ÕÀ» ±â»Ú°Ô ¹ÞÀ¸½Ã±â¸¦ ¿øÇϳªÀÌ´Ù
24:23 All this does the servant of my lord the king give to the king. And Araunah said, May the Lord your God be pleased with your offering!
24:23 All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD your God accept you.

24:24 ¿ÕÀÌ ¾Æ¶ó¿ì³ª¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ±×·¸Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´Ù ³»°¡ °ªÀ» ÁÖ°í ³×°Ô¼­ »ç¸®¶ó °ª ¾øÀÌ´Â ³» Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²² ¹øÁ¦¸¦ µå¸®Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó ÇÏ°í Àº ¿À½Ê ¼¼°Ö·Î ŸÀÛ ¸¶´ç°ú ¼Ò¸¦ »ç°í
24:24 And the king said to Araunah, No, but I will give you a price for it; I will not give to the Lord my God burned offerings for which I have given nothing. So David got the grain-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
24:24 And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of you at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which does cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

24:25 And there David put up an altar to the Lord, making burned offerings and peace-offerings. So the Lord gave ear to his prayer for the land, and the disease came to an end in Israel.
24:25 And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was implored for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. #@#
