15:1 얼마 후 밀 거둘 때에 삼손이 염소 새끼를 가지고 그 아내에게로 찾아가서
가로되 내가 침실에 들어가 아내를 보고자 하노라 장인이 들어오지 못하게 하고
15:1 Now a short time after, at the time of the grain-cutting, Samson, taking with him
a young goat, went to see his wife; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the
bride's room. But her father would not let him go in.
15:1 But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest,
that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife
into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.
15:2 가로되 네가 그를 심히 미워하는 줄로 내가 생각한 고로 그를 네 동무에게
주었노라 그 동생이 그보다 더욱 아름답지 아니하냐 청하노니 너는 그의 대신에 이를
취하라
15:2 And her father said, It seemed to me that you had only hate for her; so I gave her
to your friend: but is not her younger sister fairer than she? so please take her
in place of the other.
15:2 And her father said, I verily thought that you had utterly hated her;
therefore I gave her to your companion: is not her younger sister fairer than
she? take her, I pray you, instead of her.
15:3 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 이번은 내가 블레셋 사람을 해할지라도 그들에게
대하여 내게 허물이 없을 것이니라 하고
15:3 Then Samson said to them, This time I will give payment in full to the Philistines,
for I am going to do them great evil.
15:3 And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than
the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.
15:4 삼손이 가서 여우 삼백을 붙들어서 그 꼬리와 꼬리를 매고 홰를 취하고 그
두 꼬리 사이에 한 홰를 달고
15:4 So Samson went and got three hundred foxes and some sticks of fire-wood; and he
put the foxes tail to tail with a stick between every two tails;
15:4 And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands,
and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.
15:5 홰에 불을 켜고 그것을 블레셋 사람의 곡식 밭으로 몰아 들여서 곡식 단과
아직 베지 아니한 곡식과 감람원을 사른지라
15:5 Then firing the sticks, he let the foxes loose among the uncut grain of the Philistines,
and all the corded stems as well as the living grain and the vine-gardens and the
olives went up in flames.
15:5 And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing
corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing
corn, with the vineyards and olives.
15:6 블레셋 사람이 가로되 누가 이 일을 행하였느냐 혹이 대답하되 딤나 사람의
사위 삼손이니 장인이 삼손의 아내를 취하여 그 동무 되었던 자에게 준 연고니라
블레셋 사람이 올라가서 그 여인과 그의 아비를 불사르니라
15:6 Then the Philistines said, Who has done this? And they said, Samson, the son-in-law
of the Timnite, because he took his wife and gave her to his friend. So the Philistines
came up and had her and her father's house burned.
15:6 Then the Philistines said, Who has done this? And they answered, Samson,
the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her
to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father
with fire.
15:7 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 이같이 행하였은즉 내가 너희에게 원수를
갚은 후에야 말리라 하고
15:7 And Samson said to them, If you go on like this, truly I will take my full payment
from you; and that will be the end of it.
15:7 And Samson said unto them, Though all of you have done this, yet will
I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.
15:8 블레셋 사람을 크게 도륙하고 내려가서 에담 바위 틈에 거하니라
15:8 And he made an attack on them, driving them in uncontrolled flight, and causing
great destruction; then he went away to his safe place in the crack of the rock
at Etam.
15:8 And he stroke them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went
down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
15:9 ○ 이에 블레셋 사람이 올라와서 유다에 진을 치고 레히에 편만한지라
15:9 Then the Philistines went and put up their tents in Judah, all round Lehi.
15:9 Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves
in Lehi.
15:10 유다 사람들이 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 올라와서 우리를 치느냐 그들이
대답하되 우리가 올라오기는 삼손을 결박하여 그가 우리에게 행한 대로 그에게 행하려
함이로라
15:10 And the men of Judah said, Why have you come up against us? And they said, We have
come up to take Samson, and to do to him as he has done to us.
15:10 And the men of Judah said, Why are all of you come up against us? And
they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he has done to
us.
15:11 유다 사람 삼천 명이 에담 바위 틈에 내려가서 삼손에게 이르되 너는 블레셋
사람이 우리를 관할하는 줄을 알지 못하느냐 네가 어찌하여 우리에게 이같이 행하였느냐
삼손이 그들에게 이르되 그들이 내게 행한 대로 나도 그들에게 행하였노라
15:11 Then three thousand of the men of Judah went down to the crack of the rock of Etam,
and said to Samson, Is it not clear to you that the Philistines are our rulers?
What is this you have done to us? And he said to them, I only did to them as they
did to me.
15:11 Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam,
and said to Samson, Know you not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what
is this that you have done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto
me, so have I done unto them.
15:12 그들이 삼손에게 이르되 우리가 너를 결박하여 블레셋 사람의 손에 붙이려고
이제 내려왔노라 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 너희는 친히 나를 치지 않겠다고 내게 맹세하라
15:12 Then they said to him, We have come down to take you and give you up into the hands
of the Philistines. And Samson said to them, Give me your oath that you will not
make an attack on me yourselves.
15:12 And they said unto him, We are come down to bind you, that we may deliver
you into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto
me, that all of you will not fall upon me yourselves.
15:13 그들이 삼손에게 일러 가로되 아니라 우리가 다만 너를 단단히 결박하여
그들의 손에 붙일 뿐이요 우리가 결단코 너를 죽이지 아니하리라 하고 새 줄 둘로
결박하고 바위 틈에서 그를 끌어내니라
15:13 And they said, No; we will take you and give you up into their hands, but truly
we will not put you to death. So knotting two new cords round him they took him
up from the rock.
15:13 And they spoke unto him, saying, No; but we will bind you fast, and
deliver you into their hand: but surely we will not kill you. And they bound
him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
15:14 ○ 삼손이 레히에 이르매 블레셋 사람이 그에게로 마주 나가며 소리 지르는
동시에 여호와의 신의 권능이 삼손에게 임하매 그 팔 위의 줄이 불탄 삼과 같아서
그 결박되었던 손에서 떨어진지라
15:14 And when he came to Lehi, the Philistines came out, meeting him with loud cries;
then the spirit of the Lord came rushing on him, and the cords on his arms became
like grass which has been burned with fire, and the bands came falling off his hands.
15:14 And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and
the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon
his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from
off his hands.
15:15 삼손이 나귀의 새 턱뼈를 보고 손을 내밀어 취하고 그것으로 일천 명을 죽이고
15:15 And taking up the mouth-bone of an ass newly dead, which he saw by chance on the
earth, he put to death a thousand men with it.
15:15 And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took
it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
15:16 가로되 나귀의 턱뼈로 한 더미 두 더미를 쌓았음이여 나귀의 턱뼈로 내가
일천 명을 죽였도다
15:16 And Samson said, With a red ass's mouth-bone I have made them red with blood, with
a red ass's mouth-bone I have sent destruction on a thousand men.
15:16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with
the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.
15:17 말을 마치고 턱뼈를 그 손에서 내어던지고 그 곳을 라맛 레히라 이름하였더라
15:17 And having said these words, he let the mouth-bone go out of his hand; so that place
was named Ramath-lehi.
15:17 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast
away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.
15:18 삼손이 심히 목 마르므로 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 주께서 종의 손으로
이 큰 구원을 베푸셨사오나 내가 이제 목말라 죽어서 할례 받지 못한 자의 손에 빠지겠나이다
15:18 After this, he was in great need of water, and crying out to the Lord, he said,
You have given this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and now need of
water will be my death; and I will be given into the hands of this people who are
without circumcision.
15:18 And he was sore thirsty, and called on the LORD, and said, You have
given this great deliverance into the hand of your servant: and now shall I
die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?
15:19 하나님의 레히에 한 우묵한 곳을 터치시니 물이 거기서 솟아 나오는지라
삼손이 그것을 마시고 정신이 회복되어 소생하니 그러므로 그 샘 이름은 엔학고레라
이 샘이 레히에 오늘까지 있더라
15:19 Then God made a crack in the hollow rock in Lehi and water came out of it; and after
drinking, his spirit came back to him and he was strong again; so that place was
named En-hakkore; it is in Lehi to this day.
15:19 But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water
from it; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore
he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
15:20 블레셋 사람의 때에 삼손이 이스라엘 사사로 이십 년을 지내었더라
15:20 And he was judge of Israel in the days of the Philistines for twenty years.
15:20 And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.
16:1 삼손이 가사에 가서 거기서 한 기생을 보고 그에게로 들어갔더니
16:1 Now Samson went to Gaza, and there he saw a loose woman and went in to her.
16:1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto
her.
16:2 혹이 가사 사람에게 고하여 가로되 삼손이 여기 왔다 하매 곧 그를 에워싸고
밤새도록 성문에 매복하고 밤새도록 종용히 하며 이르기를 새벽이 되거든 그를 죽이리라
하였더라
16:2 And it was said to the Gazites, Samson is here. So they went round, watching for
him all day at the doorway of the town, but at night they kept quiet, saying, When
daylight comes we will put him to death.
16:2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson has come here. And they
compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and
were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill
him.
16:3 삼손이 밤중까지 누웠다가 그 밤중에 일어나 성 문짝들과 두 설주와 빗장을
빼어 그것을 모두 어깨에 메고 헤브론 앞산 꼭대기로 가니라
16:3 And Samson was there till the middle of the night; then he got up, and took a grip
on the doors of the town, pulling them up, together with their two supports and
their locks, and put them on his back and took them up to the top of the hill in
front of Hebron.
16:3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors
of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and
all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill
that is before Hebron.
16:4 이 후에 삼손이 소렉 골짜기의 들릴라라 이름하는 여인을 사랑하매
16:4 Now after this, he was in love with a woman in the valley of Sorek, named Delilah.
16:4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of
Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
16:5 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 그 여인에게로 올라와서 그에게 이르되 삼손을 꾀어서
무엇으로 말미암아 그 큰 힘이 있는지 우리가 어떻게 하면 그를 이기어서 결박하여
곤고케 할 수 있을는지 알아보라 그리하면 우리가 각각 은 일천 일백을 네게 주리라
16:5 And the chiefs of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, Make use of your
power over him and see what is the secret of his great strength, and how we may
get the better of him, and put bands on him, so that we may make him feeble; and
every one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver.
16:5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her,
Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lies, and by what means we may
prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give you
every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
16:6 들릴라가 삼손에게 말하되 청컨대 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로 말미암아 있으며
어떻게 하면 능히 당신을 결박하여 곤고케 할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라
16:6 So Delilah said to Samson, Make clear to me now what is the secret of your great
strength, and how you may be put in bands and made feeble.
16:6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray you, wherein your great
strength lies, and wherewith you might be bound to afflict you.
16:7 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 마르지 아니한 푸른 칡 일곱으로 나를 결박하면
내가 약하여져서 다른 사람과 같으리라
16:7 And Samson said to her, If seven new bow-cords which have never been made dry are
knotted round me, I will become feeble and will be like any other man.
16:7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withes that
were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
16:8 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 마르지 아니한 푸른 칡 일곱을 여인에게로 가져오매
그가 그것으로 삼손을 결박하고
16:8 So the chiefs of the Philistines gave her seven new bow-cords which had never been
made dry, and she had them tightly knotted round him.
16:8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withes
which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
16:9 이미 사람을 내실에 매복시켰으므로 삼손에게 말하되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이
당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 그 칡 끊기를 불탄 삼실을 끊음 같이 하였고 그
힘의 근본은 여전히 알지 못하니라
16:9 Now she had men waiting secretly in the inner room; and she said to him, The Philistines
are on you, Samson. And the cords were broken by him as a twist of thread is broken
when touched by a flame. So the secret of his strength did not come to light.
16:9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And
she said unto him, The Philistines be upon you, Samson. And he brake the withes,
as a thread of tow is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not
known.
16:10 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 보라 당신이 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을 하였도다
청컨대 무엇으로 하면 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 이제는 내게 말하라
16:10 Then Delilah said to Samson, See, you have been making sport of me with false words;
now, say truly how may you be put in bands?
16:10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, you have mocked me, and told
me lies: now tell me, I pray you, wherewith you might be bound.
16:11 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 쓰지 아니한 새 줄로 나를 결박하면 내가 약하여져서
다른 사람과 같으리라
16:11 And he said to her, If they only put round me new thick cords which have never been
used, then I will become feeble and will be like any other man.
16:11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never
were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
16:12 들릴라가 새 줄을 취하고 그것으로 그를 결박하고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여
블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 팔 위의 줄 끊기를 실을 끊음 같이
하였고 그 때에도 사람이 내실에 매복하였었더라
16:12 So Delilah took new thick cords, knotting them tightly round him, and said to him,
The Philistines are on you, Samson. And men were waiting secretly in the inner room.
And the cords were broken off his arms like threads.
16:12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said
unto him, The Philistines be upon you, Samson. And there were hidden attackers
in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.
16:13 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신이 이때까지 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을
하였도다 내가 무엇으로 하면 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라 삼손이 그에게
이르되 그대가 만일 나의 머리털 일곱가닥을 위선에 섞어 짜면 되리라
16:13 Then Delilah said to Samson, Up to now you have made sport of me with false words;
now say truly, how may you be put in bands? And he said to her, If you get the seven
twists of my hair worked into the cloth you are making and fixed with the pin, I
will become feeble and will be like any other man.
16:13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Until now you have mocked me, and told
me lies: tell me wherewith you might be bound. And he said unto her, If you
weave the seven locks of my head with the web.
16:14 들릴라가 바디로 그 머리털을 단단히 짜고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋
사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 잠을 깨어 직조틀의 바디와 위선을 다 빼어내니라
16:14 So while he was sleeping she got the seven twists of his hair worked into her cloth
and fixed with the pin, and said to him, The Philistines are on you, Samson. Then
awaking from his sleep, he got up quickly, pulling up cloth and machine together.
16:14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines
be upon you, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the
pin of the beam, and with the web.
16:15 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신의 마음이 내게 있지 아니하면서 당신이
어찌 나를 사랑한다 하느뇨 당신이 이 세 번 나를 희롱하고 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로
말미암아 있는 것을 내게 말하지 아니하였도다 하며
16:15 And she said to him, Why do you say you are my lover when your heart is not mine?
Three times you have made sport of me, and have not made clear to me the secret
of your great strength.
16:15 And she said unto him, How can you say, I love you, when yours heart
is not with me? you have mocked me these three times, and have not told me wherein
your great strength lies.
16:16 날마다 그 말로 그를 재촉하여 조르매 삼손의 마음이 번뇌하여 죽을 지경이라
16:16 So day after day she gave him no peace, for ever questioning him till his soul was
troubled to death.
16:16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and
urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
16:17 삼손이 진정을 토하여 그에게 이르되 내 머리에는 삭도를 대지 아니하였나니
이는 내가 모태에서 하나님의 나실인이 되었음이라 만일 내 머리가 밀리우면 내 힘이
내게서 떠나고 나는 약하여져서 다른 사람과 같으리라
16:17 And opening all his heart to her, he said to her, My head has never been touched
by a blade, for I have been separate to God from the day of my birth: if my hair
is cut off, then my strength will go from me and I will become feeble, and will
be like any other man.
16:17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There has not come
a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's
womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak,
and be like any other man.
16:18 들릴라가 삼손의 진정을 다 토함을 보고 보내어 블레셋 사람의 방백들을
불러 가로되 삼손이 내게 진정을 토하였으니 이제 한 번만 올라오라 블레셋 방백들이
손에 은을 가지고 여인에게로 올라오니라
16:18 And when Delilah saw that he had let her see into his heart, she sent word to the
chiefs of the Philistines saying, Come up this time, for he has let out all his
heart to me. Then the chiefs of the Philistines came to her, with the money in their
hands.
16:18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and
called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he has
showed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her,
and brought money in their hand.
16:19 들릴라가 삼손으로 자기 무릎을 베고 자게 하고 사람을 불러 그 머리털
일곱 가닥을 밀고 괴롭게 하여 본즉 그 힘이 없어졌더라
16:19 And she made him go to sleep on her knees; and she sent for a man and had his seven
twists of hair cut off; and while it was being done he became feeble and his strength
went from him.
16:19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and
she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict
him, and his strength went from him.
16:20 들릴라가 가로되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이
잠을 깨며 이르기를 내가 전과 같이 나가서 몸을 떨치리라 하여도 여호와께서 이미
자기를 떠나신 줄을 깨닫지 못하였더라
16:20 Then she said, The Philistines are on you, Samson. And awaking from his sleep, he
said, I will go out as at other times, shaking myself free. But he was not conscious
that the Lord had gone from him.
16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon you, Samson. And he awoke out
of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself.
And he knows not that the LORD was departed from him.
16:21 블레셋 사람이 그를 잡아 그 눈을 빼고 끌고 가사에 내려가 놋 줄로 매고
그로 옥중에서 맷돌을 돌리게 하였더라
16:21 So the Philistines took him and put out his eyes; then they took him down to Gaza,
and, chaining him with bands of brass, put him to work crushing grain in the prison-house.
16:21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him
down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison
house.
16:22 그의 머리털이 밀리운 후에 다시 자라기 시작하니라
16:22 But the growth of his hair was starting again after it had been cut off.
16:22 Nevertheless the hair of his head began to grow again after he was
shaven.
16:23 블레셋 사람의 방백이 가로되 우리의 신이 우리 원수 삼손을 우리 손에
붙였다 하고 다 모여 그 신 다곤에게 큰 제사를 드리고 즐거워하고
16:23 And the chiefs of the Philistines came together to make a great offering to Dagon
their god, and to be glad; for they said, Our god has given into our hands Samson
our hater.
16:23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together in order to
offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said,
Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
16:24 백성들도 삼손을 보았으므로 가로되 우리 토지를 헐고 우리 많은 사람을
죽인 원수를 우리의 신이 우리 손에 붙였다 하고 자기 신을 찬송하며
16:24 And when the people saw him, they gave praise to their god; for they said, Our god
has given into our hands the one who was fighting against us, who made our country
waste, and who put great numbers of us to death.
16:24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said,
Our god has delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country,
which slew many of us.
16:25 그들의 마음이 즐거울 때에 이르되 삼손을 불러다가 우리를 위하여 재주를
부리게 하자 하고 옥에서 삼손을 불러내매 삼손이 그들을 위하여 재주를 부리니라
그들이 삼손을 두 기둥 사이에 세웠더니
16:25 Now when their hearts were full of joy, they said, Send for Samson to make sport
for us. And they sent for Samson out of the prison-house, and he made sport before
them; and they put him between the pillars.
16:25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said,
Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of
the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
16:26 삼손이 자기 손을 붙든 소년에게 이르되 나로 이 집을 버틴 기둥을 찾아서
그것을 의지하게 하라 하니라
16:26 And Samson said to the boy who took him by the hand, Let me put my hand on the pillars
supporting the house, so that I may put my back against them.
16:26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that
I may feel the pillars whereupon the house stands, that I may lean upon them.
16:27 그 집에는 남녀가 가득하니 블레셋 모든 방백도 거기 있고 지붕에 있는
남녀도 삼천 명 가량이라 다 삼손의 재주 부리는 것을 보더라
16:27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were
there; and about three thousand men and women were on the roof, looking on while
Samson made sport.
16:27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines
were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women,
that beheld while Samson made sport.
16:28 삼손이 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 주 여호와여 구하옵나니 나를 생각하옵소서
하나님이여 구하옵나니 이번만 나로 강하게 하사 블레셋 사람이 나의 두 눈을 뺀
원수를 단번에 갚게 하옵소서 하고
16:28 And Samson, crying out to the Lord, said, O Lord God, do have me now in mind, and
do make me strong only this once, O God, so that I may take one last payment from
the Philistines for my two eyes.
16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me,
I pray you, and strengthen me, I pray you, only this once, O God, that I may
be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
16:29 집을 버틴 두 가운데 기둥을 하나는 왼손으로, 하나는 오른손으로 껴 의지하고
16:29 Then Samson put his arms round the two middle pillars supporting the house, putting
his weight on them, on one with his right hand and on the other with his left.
16:29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house
stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of
the other with his left.
16:30 가로되 블레셋 사람과 함께 죽기를 원하노라 하고 힘을 다하여 몸을 굽히매
그 집이 곧 무너져 그 안에 있는 모든 방백과 온 백성에게 덮이니 삼손이 죽을 때에
죽인 자가 살았을 때에 죽인 자보다 더욱 많았더라
16:30 And Samson said, Let death overtake me with the Philistines. And he put out all
his strength, and the house came down on the chiefs and on all the people who were
in it. So the dead whom he sent to destruction by his death were more than all those
on whom he had sent destruction in his life.
16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself
with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people
that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they
which he slew in his life.
16:31 그의 형제와 아비의 온 집이 다 내려가서 그 시체를 취하여 가지고 올라와서
소라와 에스다올 사이 그 아비 마노아의 장지에 장사하니라 삼손이 이스라엘 사사로
이십 년을 지내었더라
16:31 Then his brothers and his father's people came down and took him up and put his
body to rest in the earth between Zorah and Eshtaol in the resting-place of Manoah
his father. And he had been judge of Israel for twenty years.
16:31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took
him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace
of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
17:1 에브라임 산지에 미가라 이름하는 사람이 있더니
17:1 Now there was a man of the hill-country of Ephraim named Micah.
17:1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
17:2 그 어미에게 이르되 어머니께서 은 일천 일백을 잃어버리셨으므로 저주하시고
내 귀에도 말씀하셨더니 보소서 그 은이 내게 있나이다 내가 그것을 취하였나이다
어미가 가로되 내 아들이 여호와께 복 받기를 원하노라 하니라
17:2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver which were taken
from you, about which you took an oath and said in my hearing, I have given this
silver to the Lord from my hand for myself, to make a pictured image and a metal
image: see, I have the silver, for I took it: so now I will give it back to you.
And his mother said, May the blessing of the Lord be on my son.
17:2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that
were taken from you, about which you cursed, and spoke of also in mine ears,
behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be you
of the LORD, my son.
17:3 미가가 은 일천 일백을 그 어미에게 도로 주매 어미가 가로되 내가 내 아들을
위하여 한 신상을 새기며 한 신상을 부어 만들 차로 내 손에서 이 은을 여호와께 거룩히
드리노라 그러므로 내가 이제 이 은을 네게 도로 돌리리라
17:3 And he gave back the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, and his mother
said, I have made the silver holy to the Lord from me for my son, to make a pictured
image and a metal image.
17:3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his
mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from
my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore
I will restore it unto you.
17:4 미가가 그 은을 어미에게 도로 주었으므로 어미가 그 은 이백을 취하여 은장색에게
주어 한 신상을 새기며 한 신상을 부어 만들었더니 그 신상이 미가의 집에 있더라
17:4 So he gave the silver back to his mother. Then his mother took two hundred shekels
of silver and gave them to a metal-worker who made a pictured image and a metal
image from them: and it was in the house of Micah.
17:4 Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred
shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image
and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
17:5 이 사람 미가에게 신당이 있으므로 또 에봇과 드라빔을 만들고 한 아들을
세워 제사장을 삼았더라
17:5 And the man Micah had a house of gods; and he made an ephod and family gods and
put one of his sons in the position of priest.
17:5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim,
and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
17:6 그 때에는 이스라엘에 왕이 없으므로 사람마다 자기 소견에 옳은 대로 행하였더라
17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did as seemed right to him.
17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which
was right in his own eyes.
17:7 ○ 유다 가족에 속한 유다 베들레헴에 한 소년이 있으니 그는 레위인으로서
거기 우거하였더라
17:7 Now there was a young man living in Beth-lehem-judah, of the family of Judah and
a Levite, who was not a townsman of the place.
17:7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehemjudah of the family of Judah,
who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
17:8 이 사람이 거할 곳을 찾고자 하여 그 성읍 유다 베들레헴을 떠나서 행하다가
에브라임 산지로 가서 미가의 집에 이르매
17:8 And he went away from the town of Beth-lehem-judah, looking for somewhere to make
his living-place; and on his journey he came to the hill-country of Ephraim, to
the house of Micah.
17:8 And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn
where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah,
as he journeyed.
17:9 미가가 그에게 묻되 너는 어디서부터 오느뇨 그가 이르되 나는 유다 베들레헴의
레위인으로서 거할 곳을 찾으러 가노라
17:9 And Micah said to him, Where do you come from? And he said to him, I am a Levite
from Beth-lehem-judah, and I am looking for a living-place.
17:9 And Micah said unto him, Whence come you? And he said unto him, I am
a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.
17:10 미가가 그에게 이르되 네가 나와 함께 거하여 나를 위하여 아비와 제사장이
되라 내가 해마다 은 열과 의복 한 벌과 식물을 주리라 하므로 레위인이 들어갔더니
17:10 Then Micah said to him, Make your living-place with me, and be a father and a priest
to me, and I will give you ten shekels of silver a year and your clothing and food.
17:10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and
a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit
of apparel, and your victuals. So the Levite went in.
17:11 레위인이 그 사람과 함께 거하기를 만족히 여겼으니 이는 그 소년이 미가의
아들 중 하나 같이 됨이라
17:11 And the Levite said he would make his living-place with the man, and he became to
him as one of his sons.
17:11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man
was unto him as one of his sons.
17:12 미가가 레위인을 거룩히 구별하매 소년이 미가의 제사장이 되어 그 집에
거한지라
17:12 And Micah gave the position to the Levite, and the young man became his priest,
and was in the house of Micah.
17:12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest,
and was in the house of Micah.
17:13 이에 미가가 가로되 레위인이 내 제사장이 되었으니 이제 여호와께서 내게
복 주실 줄을 아노라 하니라
17:13 Then Micah said, Now I am certain that the Lord will do me good, seeing that the
Levite has become my priest.
17:13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I
have a Levite to my priest.
18:1 그 때에 이스라엘에 왕이 없었고 단 지파는 이때에 거할 기업의 땅을 구하는
중이었으니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 지파 중에서 이때까지 기업의 땅 분배함을 얻지
못하였음이라
18:1 In those days there was no king in Israel, and in those days the Danites were looking
for a heritage for themselves, to be their living-place; for up to that time no
distribution of land had been made to them among the tribes of Israel.
18:1 In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe
of the Danites sought them an inheritance to dwell in; for unto that day all
their inheritance had not fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel.
18:2 단 자손이 소라와 에스다올에서부터 자기 온 가족 중 용맹 있는 다섯 사람을
보내어 땅을 탐지하고 살피게 하며 그들에게 이르되 너희는 가서 땅을 살펴보라 하매
그들이 에브라임 산지에 가서 미가의 집에 이르러 거기서 유숙하니라
18:2 So the children of Dan sent five men from among their number, strong men, from Zorah
and from Eshtaol, to take a look at the land and make a search through it; and they
said to them, Go and make a search through the land; and they came to the hill-country
of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, where they made a stop for the night.
18:2 And the children of Dan sent of their family five men from their coasts,
men of valour, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to search
it; and they said unto them, Go, search the land: who when they came to mount
Ephraim, to the house of Micah, they lodged there.
18:3 그들이 미가의 집에 가까이 올 때에 레위 소년의 음성을 알아듣고 그리로
돌이켜 가서 그에게 이르되 누가 너를 이리로 인도하였으며 네가 여기서 무엇을 하며
여기서 무엇을 얻었느냐
18:3 When they were near the house of Micah, hearing a voice which was not strange to
them, that of the young Levite, they went out of their road to his place, and said
to him, How did you come here? and what are you doing in this place? and why are
you here?
18:3 When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young
man the Levite: and they turned in thither, and said unto him, Who brought you
here? and what make you in this place? and what have you here?
18:4 그가 그들에게 이르되 미가가 여차여차히 나를 대접하여 나를 고빙하여 나로
자기 제사장을 삼았느니라
18:4 And he said to them, This is what Micah did for me, and he gave me payment and I
became his priest.
18:4 And he said unto them, Thus and thus deals Micah with me, and has hired
me, and I am his priest.
18:5 그들이 그에게 이르되 청컨대 우리를 위하여 하나님께 물어보아서 우리의
행하는 길이 형통할는지 우리에게 알게 하라
18:5 Then they said, Do get directions from God for us, to see if the journey on which
we are going will have a good outcome.
18:5 And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray you, of God, that we may
know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.
18:6 그 제사장이 그들에게 이르되 평안히 가라 너희의 행하는 길은 여호와 앞에
있느니라
18:6 And the priest said to them, Go in peace: your way is guided by the Lord.
18:6 And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the LORD is your
way wherein all of you go.
18:7 ○ 이에 다섯 사람이 떠나 라이스에 이르러 거기 있는 백성을 본즉 염려
없이 거하여 시돈 사람 같이 한가하고 평안하니 그 땅에는 권세 잡은 자가 없어서
무슨 일에든지 괴롭게 함이 없고 시돈 사람과 상거가 멀며 아무 사람과도 상종하지 아니함이라
18:7 Then the five men went on their way and came to Laish and saw the people who were
there, living without thought of danger, like the Zidonians, quiet and safe; for
they had everything on earth for their needs, and they were far from the Zidonians
and had no business with Aram.
18:7 Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that
were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet
and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to
shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business
with any man.
18:8 그들이 소라와 에스다올에 돌아와서 그 형제에게 이르매 형제들이 그들에게
묻되 너희 보기에 어떠하더뇨
18:8 So they came back to their brothers in Zorah and Eshtaol, and their brothers said
to them, What news have you?
18:8 And they came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brethren
said unto them, What say all of you?
18:9 가로되 일어나서 그들을 치러 올라가자 우리가 그 땅을 본즉 매우 좋더라
너희는 가만히 있느냐 나아가서 그 땅 얻기를 게을리 말라
18:9 And they said, Up! and let us go against Laish; for we have seen the land, and it
is very good: why are you doing nothing? Do not be slow to go in and take the land
for your heritage.
18:9 And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen
the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are all of you still? be not slothful
to go, and to enter to possess the land.
18:10 너희가 가면 평안한 백성을 만날 것이요 그 땅은 넓고 그 곳에는 세상에
있는 것이 하나도 부족함이 없느니라
하나님이 너희 손에 붙이셨느니라
18:10 When you come there you will come to a people living without thought of danger;
and the land is wide, and God has given it into your hands: a place where there
is everything on earth for man's needs.
18:10 When all of you go, all of you shall come unto a people secure, and
to a large land: for God has given it into your hands; a place where there is
no lack of any thing that is in the earth.
18:11 ○ 단 지파 가족 중 육백 명이 병기를 띠고 소라와 에스다올에서 출발하여
18:11 So six hundred men of the Danites from Zorah and Eshtaol went out armed with instruments
of war.
18:11 And there went from thence of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah
and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men appointed with weapons of war.
18:12 올라가서 유다 기럇여아림에 진 치니 이러므로 그 곳 이름이 오늘까지 마하네단이며
그 곳은 기럇여아림 뒤에 있더라
18:12 And they went up and put up their tents in Kiriath-jearim in Judah: so that place
is named Mahaneh-dan to this day. It is to the west of Kiriath-jearim.
18:12 And they went up, and pitched in Kirjathjearim, in Judah: wherefore
they called that place Mahanehdan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjathjearim.
18:13 무리가 거기서 떠나서 에브라임 산지 미가의 집에 이르니라
18:13 From there they went on to the hill-country of Ephraim and came to the house of
Micah.
18:13 And they passed thence unto mount Ephraim, and came unto the house
of Micah.
18:14 ○ 전에 라이스 땅을 탐지하러 갔던 다섯 사람이 그 형제들에게 말하여
가로되 이 집에 에봇과 드라빔과 새긴 신상과 부어 만든 신상이 있는 줄을 너희가
아느냐 그런즉 이제 너희는 마땅히 행할 것을 생각하라 하고
18:14 Then the five men who had gone to make a search through the country of Laish, said
to their brothers, Have you knowledge that in these houses there is an ephod and
family gods and a pictured image and a metal image? So now you see what to do.
18:14 Then answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish,
and said unto their brethren, Do all of you know that there is in these houses
an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore
consider what all of you have to do.
18:15 다섯 사람이 그 편으로 향하여 소년 레위 사람의 집 곧 미가의 집에 이르러
문안하고
18:15 And turning from their road they came to the house of the young Levite, the house
of Micah, and said to him, Is it well with you?
18:15 And they turned in that direction, and came to the house of the young
man the Levite, even unto the house of Micah, and saluted him.
18:16 단 자손 육백 명은 병기를 띠고 문 입구에 서니라
18:16 And the six hundred armed men of the Danites took their places by the doorway.
18:16 And the six hundred men appointed with their weapons of war, which
were of the children of Dan, stood by the entering of the gate.
18:17 땅을 탐지하러 갔던 다섯 사람이 그리로 들어가서 새긴 신상과 에봇과 드라빔과
부어 만든 신상을 취할 때에 제사장은 병기를 띤 육백 명과 함께 문 입구에 섰더니
18:17 Then the five men who had gone to make a search through the land, went in and took
the pictured image and the ephod and the family gods and the metal image; and the
priest was by the doorway with the six hundred armed men.
18:17 And the five men that went to spy out the land went up, and came in
thither, and took the graven image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the
molten image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate with the six
hundred men that were appointed with weapons of war.
18:18 그 다섯 사람이 미가의 집에 들어가서 그 새긴 신상과 에봇과 드라빔과
부어 만든 신상을 취하여 내매 제사장이 그들에게 묻되 너희가 무엇을 하느냐
18:18 And when they went into Micah's house and took out the pictured image and the ephod
and the family gods and the metal image, the priest said to them, What are you doing?
18:18 And these went into Micah's house, and fetched the carved image, the
ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image. Then said the priest unto them,
What do all of you?
18:19 그들이 그에게 이르되 잠잠하라 네 손을 입에 대라 우리와 함께 가서 우리의
아비와 제사장이 되라 네가 한 사람의 집의 제사장이 되는 것과 이스라엘 한 지파,
한 가족의 제사장이 되는 것이 어느 것이 낫겠느냐
18:19 And they said to him, Be quiet; say nothing, and come with us and be our father
and priest; is it better for you to be priest to one man's house or to be priest
to a tribe and a family in Israel?
18:19 And they said unto him, Hold your peace, lay yours hand upon your mouth,
and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for you to
be a priest unto the house of one man, or that you be a priest unto a tribe
and a family in Israel?
18:20 제사장이 마음에 기뻐하여 에봇과 드라빔과 새긴 우상을 취하고 그 백성
중으로 들어가니라
18:20 Then the priest's heart was glad, and he took the ephod and the family gods and
the pictured image and went with the people.
18:20 And the priest's heart was glad, and he took the ephod, and the teraphim,
and the graven image, and went in the midst of the people.
18:21 ○ 그들이 돌이켜서 어린 아이들과 가축과 물품을 앞에 두고 진행하더니
18:21 So they went on their way again, putting the little ones and the oxen and the goods
in front of them.
18:21 So they turned and departed, and put the little ones and the cattle
and the carriage before them.
18:22 미가의 집을 멀리 떠난 때에 미가의 이웃집 사람들이 모여서 단 자손을
따라 미쳐서는
18:22 When they had gone some way from the house of Micah, the men from the houses near
Micah's house came together and overtook the children of Dan,
18:22 And when they were a good way from the house of Micah, the men that
were in the houses near to Micah's house were gathered together, and overtook
the children of Dan.
18:23 단 자손을 부르는지라 그들이 낯을 돌이켜 미가에게 이르되 네가 무슨 일로
이같이 모아가지고 왔느냐
18:23 Crying out to them. And the Danites, turning round, said to Micah, What is your
trouble, that you have taken up arms?
18:23 And they cried unto the children of Dan. And they turned their faces,
and said unto Micah, What disturbs you, that you come with such a company?
18:24 미가가 가로되 나의 지은 신들과 제사장을 취하여 갔으니 내게 오히려 있는
것이 무엇이냐 너희가 어찌하여 나더러 무슨 일이냐 하느냐
18:24 And he said, You have taken my gods which I made, and my priest, and have gone away;
what is there for me now? Why then do you say to me, What is your trouble?
18:24 And he said, All of you have taken away my gods which I made, and the
priest, and all of you are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this
that all of you say unto me, What disturbs you?
18:25 단 자손이 그에게 이르되 네 목소리를 우리에게 들리게 말라 노한 자들이
너희를 쳐서 네 생명과 네 가족의 생명을 잃게 할까 하노라 하고
18:25 And the children of Dan said to him, Say no more, or men of bitter spirit may make
an attack on you, causing loss of your life and the lives of your people.
18:25 And the children of Dan said unto him, Let not your voice be heard
among us, lest angry fellows run upon you, and you lose your life, with the
lives of your household.
18:26 단 자손이 자기 길을 행한지라 미가가 단 자손이 자기보다 강한 것을 보고
돌이켜 집으로 돌아갔더라
18:26 Then the children of Dan went on their way; and when Micah saw that they were stronger
than he, he went back to his house.
18:26 And the children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they
were too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house.
18:27 ○ 단 자손이 미가의 지은 것과 그 제사장을 취하고 라이스에 이르러 한가하고
평안한 백성을 만나 칼날로 그들을 치며 불로 그 성읍을 사르되
18:27 And they took that which Micah had made, and his priest, and came to Laish, to a
people living quietly and without thought of danger, and they put them to the sword
without mercy, burning down their town.
18:27 And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which
he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were resting and secure: and
they stroke them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire.
18:28 그들을 구원할 자가 없었으니 그 성읍이 베드르홉 가까운 골짜기에 있어서
시돈과 상거가 멀고 상종하는 사람도 없음이었더라 단 자손이 성읍을 중건하고 거기
거하며
18:28 And they had no saviour, because it was far from Zidon, and they had no business
with Aram; and it was in the valley which is the property of Beth-rehob. And building
up the town again they took it for their living-place.
18:28 And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Zidon, and they
had no business with any man; and it was in the valley that lies by Bethrehob.
And they built a city, and dwelt therein.
18:29 이스라엘의 소생 그 조상 단의 이름을 따라 그 성읍을 단이라 하니라 그
성읍의 본 이름은 라이스더라
18:29 And they gave the town the name of Dan, after Dan their father, who was the son
of Israel: though the town had been named Laish at first.
18:29 And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their
father, who was born unto Israel: nevertheless the name of the city was Laish
at the first.
18:30 단 자손이 자기를 위하여 그 새긴 신상을 세웠고 모세의 손자 게르손의
아들 요나단과 그 자손은 단 지파의 제사장이 되어 이 백성이 사로잡히는 날까지
이르렀더라
18:30 (And the children of Dan put up the pictured image for themselves; and Jonathan,
the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, and his sons were priests for the tribe of
the Danites till the day when the ark was taken prisoner.)
18:30 And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and Jonathan, the
son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe
of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land.
18:31 하나님의 집이 실로에 있을 동안에 미가의 지은 바 새긴 신상이 단 자손에게
있었더라
18:31 And they put up for themselves the image which Micah had made, and it was there
all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.
18:31 And they set them up Micah's graven image, which he made, all the time
that the house of God was in Shiloh.
19:1 이스라엘에 왕이 없을 그 때에 에브라임 산지 구석에 우거하는 어떤 레위
사람이 유다 베들레헴에서 첩을 취하였더니
19:1 Now in those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was living
in the inmost parts of the hill-country of Ephraim, and he got for himself a servant-wife
from Beth-lehem-judah.
19:1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel,
that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who
took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
19:2 그 첩이 행음하고 남편을 떠나 유다 베들레헴 그 아비의 집에 돌아가서 거기서
넉 달의 날을 보내매
19:2 And his servant-wife was angry with him, and went away from him to her father's
house at Beth-lehem-judah, and was there for four months.
19:2 And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him
unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
19:3 그 남편이 그 여자에게 다정히 말하고 그를 데려오고자 하여 하인 하나와
나귀 두 필을 데리고 그에게로 가매 여자가 그를 인도하여 아비의 집에 들어가니
그 여자의 아비가 그를 보고 환영하니라
19:3 Then her husband got up and went after her, with the purpose of talking kindly to
her, and taking her back with him; he had with him his young man and two asses:
and she took him into her father's house, and her father, when he saw him, came
forward to him with joy.
19:3 And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her,
and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses:
and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel
saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
19:4 그 첩장인 곧 여자의 아비가 그를 머물리매 그가 삼 일을 그와 함께 거하며
먹고 마시며 거기서 유숙하다가
19:4 And his father-in-law, the girl's father, kept him there for three days; and they
had food and drink and took their rest there.
19:4 And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode
with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
19:5 나흘 만에 일찌기 일어나 떠나고자 하매 여자의 아비가 그 사위에게 이르되
떡을 조금 먹어 그대의 기력을 도운 후에 그대의 길을 행하라
19:5 Now on the fourth day they got up early in the morning and he made ready to go away;
but the girl's father said to his son-in-law, Take a little food to keep up your
strength, and then go on your way.
19:5 And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the
morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son
in law, Comfort yours heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.
19:6 두 사람이 앉아서 함께 먹고 마시매 여자의 아비가 그 사람에게 이르되 청하노니
이 밤을 여기서 유숙하여 그대의 마음을 즐겁게 하라
19:6 So seating themselves they had food and drink, the two of them together; and the
girl's father said to the man, If it is your pleasure, take your rest here tonight,
and let your heart be glad.
19:6 And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for
the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray you, and tarry
all night, and let yours heart be merry.
19:7 그 사람이 일어나서 가고자 하되 첩장인의 간청으로 다시 유숙하더니
19:7 And the man got up to go away, but his father-in-law would not let him go, so he
took his rest there again for the night.
19:7 And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore
he lodged there again.
19:8 다섯째 날 아침에 일찌기 일어나 떠나고자 하매 여자의 아비가 이르되 청하노니
그대의 기력을 돕고 해가 기울도록 머물라 하므로 두 사람이 함께 먹고
19:8 Then early on the morning of the fifth day he got up to go away; but the girl's
father said, Keep up your strength; so the two of them had a meal, and the man and
his woman and his servant did not go till after the middle of the day.
19:8 And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the
damsel's father said, Comfort yours heart, I pray you. And they tarried until
afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
19:9 그 사람이 첩과 하인으로 더불어 일어나 떠나고자 하매 그 첩장인 곧 여자의
아비가 그에게 이르되 보라 이제 해가 저물어가니 청컨대 이 밤도 유숙하라 보라
해가 기울었느니라 그대는 여기서 유숙하여 그대의 마음을 즐겁게 하고 내일 일찌기
그대의 길을 행하여 그대의 집으로 돌아가라
19:9 And when they got up to go away, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him,
Now evening is coming on, so do not go tonight; see, the day is almost gone; take
your rest here and let your heart be glad, and tomorrow early, go on your way back
to your house.
19:9 And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant,
his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draws
toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day grows to an end,
lodge here, that yours heart may be merry; and tomorrow get you early on your
way, that you may go home.
19:10 ○ 그 사람이 다시 밤을 지내고자 아니하여 일어나 떠나서 여부스 맞은편에
이르렀으니 여부스는 곧 예루살렘이라 안장 지운 나귀 둘과 첩이 그와 함께 하였더라
19:10 But the man would not be kept there that night, and he got up and went away and
came opposite to Jebus (which is Jerusalem); and he had with him the two asses,
ready for travelling, and his woman.
19:10 But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed,
and came opposite to Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two
asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
19:11 그들이 여부스에 가까왔을 때에 해가 지려 하는지라 종이 주인에게 이르되
청컨대 우리가 돌이켜 여부스 사람의 이 성읍에 들어가서 유숙하사이다
19:11 When they got near Jebus the day was far gone; and the servant said to his master,
Now let us go from our road into this town of the Jebusites and take our night's
rest there.
19:11 And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant
said unto his master, Come, I pray you, and let us turn in into this city of
the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
19:12 주인이 그에게 이르되 우리가 돌이켜 이스라엘 자손에게 속하지 아니한
외인의 성읍으로 들어갈 것이 아니니 기브아로 나아가리라 하고
19:12 But his master said to him, We will not go out of our way into a strange town, whose
people are not of the children of Israel; but we will go on to Gibeah.
19:12 And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside here into the
city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over
to Gibeah.
19:13 또 그 종에게 이르되 우리가 기브아나 라마 중 한 곳에 나아가 거기서 유숙하자
하고
19:13 And he said to his servant, Come, let us go on to one of these places, stopping
for the night in Gibeah or Ramah.
19:13 And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of
these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
19:14 모두 앞으로 행하더니 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 가까이 이르러는 해가 진지라
19:14 So they went on their way; and the sun went down when they were near Gibeah in the
land of Benjamin.
19:14 And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them
when they were by Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.
19:15 기브아에 가서 유숙하려고 그리로 돌이켜 들어가서 성읍 거리에 앉았으나
그를 집으로 영접하여 유숙케 하는 자가 없었더라
19:15 And they went off the road there with the purpose of stopping for the night in Gibeah:
and he went in, seating himself in the street of the town, for no one took them
into his house for the night.
19:15 And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and
when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man
that took them into his house to lodging.
19:16 ○ 이미 저물매 한 노인이 밭에서 일하다가 돌아오니 그 사람은 본래 에브라임
산지 사람으로서 기브아에 우거하는 자요 그 곳 사람들은 베냐민 사람이더라
19:16 Now when it was evening they saw an old man coming back from his work in the fields;
he was from the hill-country of Ephraim and was living in Gibeah: but the men of
the place were Benjamites.
19:16 And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at
even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men
of the place were Benjamites.
19:17 노인이 눈을 들어 성읍 거리에 행객이 있는 것을 본지라 노인이 묻되 그대는
어디로 가며 어디서 왔느뇨
19:17 And when he saw the traveller in the street of the town, the old man said, Where
are you going? and where do you come from?
19:17 And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a travelling man in the
street of the city: and the old man said, Where go you? and whence come you?
19:18 그가 그에게 이르되 우리는 유다 베들레헴에서 에브라임 산지 구석으로
가나이다 나는 그 곳 사람으로서 유다 베들레헴에 갔다가 이제 여호와의 집으로 가는
중인데 나를 자기 집으로 영접하는 사람이 없나이다
19:18 And he said to him, We are on our way from Beth-lehem-judah to the inmost parts
of the hill-country of Ephraim: I came from there and went to Beth-lehem-judah:
now I am on my way back to my house, but no man will take me into his house.
19:18 And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the
side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I
am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receives me
to house.
19:19 우리에게는 나귀들에게 먹일 짚과 보리가 있고 나와 당신의 여종과 당신의
종 우리들과 함께 한 소년의 먹을 양식과 포도주가 있어 무엇이든지 부족함이 없나이다
19:19 But we have dry grass and food for our asses, as well as bread and wine for me,
and for the woman, and for the young man with us: we have no need of anything.
19:19 Yet there is both straw and animal food for our asses; and there is
bread and wine also for me, and for your handmaid, and for the young man which
is with your servants: there is no lack of any thing.
19:20 노인이 가로되 그대는 안심하라 그대의 모든 쓸 것은 나의 담책이니 거리에서는
자지 말라 하고
19:20 And the old man said, Peace be with you; let all your needs be my care; only do
not take your rest in the street.
19:20 And the old man said, Peace be with you; howsoever let all your wants
lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.
19:21 그를 데리고 자기 집에 들어가서 나귀에게 먹이니 그들이 발을 씻고 먹고
마시니라
19:21 So he took them into his house and gave the asses food; and after washing their
feet they took food and drink.
19:21 So he brought him into his house, and gave animal food unto the asses:
and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.
19:22 ○ 그들이 마음을 즐겁게 할 때에 그 성읍의 비류들이 그 집을 에워싸고
문을 두들기며 집 주인 노인에게 말하여 가로대 네 집에 들어온 사람을 끌어내라
우리가 그를 상관하리라
19:22 While they were taking their pleasure at the meal, the good-for-nothing men of the
town came round the house, giving blows on the door; and they said to the old man,
the master of the house, Send out that man who came to your house, so that we may
take our pleasure with him.
19:22 Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the
city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door,
and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man
that came into yours house, that we may know him.
19:23 집 주인 그 사람이 그들에게로 나와서 이르되 아니라 내 형제들아 청하노니
악을 행치 말라 이 사람이 내 집에 들었으니 이런 망령된 일을 행치 말라
19:23 So the man, the master of the house, went out to them, and said, No, my brothers,
do not this evil thing; this man has come into my house, and you are not to do him
this wrong.
19:23 And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said
unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that
this man has come into mine house, do not this folly.
19:24 보라 여기 내 처녀 딸과 이 사람의 첩이 있은즉 내가 그들을 끌어 내리니
너희가 그들을 욕보이든지 어찌하든지 임의로 하되 오직 이 사람에게는 이런 망령된
일을 행치 말라 하나
19:24 See, here is my daughter, a virgin, and his servant-wife: I will send them out for
you to take them and do with them whatever you will. But do no such thing of shame
to this man.
19:24 Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will
bring out now, and humble all of you them, and do with them what seems good
unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.
19:25 무리가 듣지 아니하므로 그 사람이 자기 첩을 무리에게로 붙들어내매 그들이
그에게 행음하여 밤새도록 욕보이다가 새벽 미명에 놓은지라
19:25 But the men would not give ear to him: so the man took his woman and sent her out
to them; and they took her by force, using her for their pleasure all night till
the morning; and when dawn came they let her go.
19:25 But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine,
and brought her forth unto them; and they had sexual contact with her, and abused
her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they
let her go.
19:26 동틀 때에 여인이 그 주인의 우거한 그 사람의 집 문에 이르러 엎드러져
밝기까지 거기 누웠더라
19:26 Then at the dawn of day the woman came, and, falling down at the door of the man's
house where her master was, was stretched there till it was light.
19:26 Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the
door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light.
19:27 ○ 그의 주인이 일찌기 일어나 집 문을 열고 떠나고자 하더니 그 여인이
집 문에 엎드러지고 그 두 손이 문지방에 있는 것을 보고
19:27 In the morning her master got up, and opening the door of the house went out to
go on his way; and he saw his servant-wife stretched on the earth at the door of
the house with her hands on the step.
19:27 And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house,
and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen
down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.
19:28 그에게 이르되 일어나라 우리가 떠나가자 하나 아무 대답이 없는지라 이에
그 시체를 나귀에 싣고 행하여 자기 곳에 돌아가서
19:28 And he said to her, Get up and let us be going; but there was no answer; so he took
her up and put her on the ass, and went on his way and came to his house.
19:28 And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then
the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and got him unto his place.
19:29 그 집에 이르러서는 칼을 취하여 첩의 시체를 붙들어 그 마디를 찍어 열
두 덩이에 나누고 그것을 이스라엘 사방에 두루 보내매
19:29 And when he had come to his house, he got his knife, and took the woman, cutting
her up bone by bone into twelve parts, which he sent through all Israel.
19:29 And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold
on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces,
and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.
19:30 그것을 보는 자가 다 가로되 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 날부터
오늘날까지 이런 일은 행치도 아니하였고 보지도 못하였도다 생각하고 상의한 후에
말하자 하니라
19:30 And he gave orders to the men whom he sent, saying, This is what you are to say
to all the men of Israel, Has ever an act like this been done from the day when
the children of Israel came out of Egypt to this day? Give thought to it, turning
it over in your minds, and give your opinion of it.
19:30 And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done
nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of
Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
20:1 이에 모든 이스라엘 자손이 단에서부터 브엘세바까지와 길르앗 땅에서 나왔는데
그 회중이 일제히 미스바에서 여호와 앞에 모였으니
20:1 Then all the children of Israel took up arms, and the people came together like
one man, from Dan to Beer-sheba, and the land of Gilead, before the Lord at Mizpah.
20:1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered
together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto
the LORD in Mizpeh.
20:2 온 백성의 어른 곧 이스라엘 모든 지파의 어른들은 하나님 백성의 총회에
섰고 칼을 빼는 보병은 사십만이었으며
20:2 And the chiefs of the people, out of all the tribes of Israel, took their places
in the meeting of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen armed with swords.
20:2 And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented
themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen
that drew sword.
20:3 이스라엘 자손의 미스바에 올라간 것을 베냐민 자손이 들었더라 이스라엘
자손이 가로되 이 악한 일의 정형을 우리에게 고하라
20:3 (Now the children of Benjamin had word that the children of Israel had gone up to
Mizpah.) And the children of Israel said, Make clear how this evil thing took place.
20:3 (Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were
gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this
wickedness?
20:4 레위 사람 곧 죽임을 당한 여인의 남편이 대답하여 가로되 내가 내 첩으로
더불어 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 유숙하러 갔더니
20:4 Then the Levite, the husband of the dead woman, said in answer, I came to Gibeah
in the land of Benjamin, I and my servant-wife, for the purpose of stopping there
for the night.
20:4 And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and
said, I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
20:5 기브아 사람들이 나를 치러 일어나서 밤에 나의 우거한 집을 에워싸고 나를
죽이려 하고 내 첩을 욕보여서 그로 죽게 한지라
20:5 And the townsmen of Gibeah came together against me, going round the house on all
sides by night; it was their purpose to put me to death, and my servant-wife was
violently used by them and is dead.
20:5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about
upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced,
that she is dead.
20:6 내가 내 첩의 시체를 취하여 쪼개어 이스라엘 기업의 온 땅에 보내었노니
이는 그들이 이스라엘 중에서 음행과 망령된 일을 행하였음을 인함이로라
20:6 So I took her, cutting her into parts which I sent through all the country of the
heritage of Israel: for they have done an act of shame in Israel.
20:6 And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout
all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness
and folly in Israel.
20:7 이스라엘 자손들아 너희가 다 여기 있은즉 너희의 의견과 방책을 낼지니라
20:7 Here you all are, you children of Israel; give now your suggestions about what is
to be done.
20:7 Behold, all of you are all children of Israel; give here your advice
and counsel.
20:8 ○ 모든 백성이 일제히 일어나며 가로되 우리가 하나라도 자기 장막으로
돌아가지 아니하며 하나라도 자기 집으로 들어가지 아니하고
20:8 Then all the people got up as one man and said, Not one of us will go to his tent
or go back to his house:
20:8 And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go
to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.
20:9 우리가 기브아 사람에게 이렇게 행하리니 곧 제비 뽑아서 그들을 치되
20:9 But this is what we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by the decision
of the Lord;
20:9 But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will
go up by lot against it;
20:10 우리가 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 백에 열, 천에 백, 만에 천을 취하고
그 백성을 위하여 양식을 예비하고 그들로 베냐민의 기브아에 가서 그 무리의 이스라엘
중에서 망령된 일을 행한 대로 징계하게 하리라 하니라
20:10 And we will take ten men out of every hundred, through all the tribes of Israel,
a hundred out of every thousand, a thousand out of every ten thousand, to get food
for the people, so that they may give to Gibeah of Benjamin the right punishment
for the act of shame they have done in Israel.
20:10 And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of
Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to
fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of
Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
20:11 이와 같이 이스라엘 모든 사람이 하나 같이 합심하여 그 성읍을 치려고
모였더라
20:11 So all the men of Israel were banded together against the town, united like one
man.
20:11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together
as one man.
20:12 ○ 이스라엘 지파들이 베냐민 온 지파에 사람들을 보내어 두루 행하며 이르기를
너희 중에서 생긴 이 악이 어찜이뇨
20:12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin saying, What
is this evil which has been done among you?
20:12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin,
saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
20:13 그런즉 이제 기브아 사람 곧 그 비류를 우리에게 붙여서 우리로 죽여 이스라엘
중에 악을 제하여 버리게 하라 하나 베냐민 자손이 그 형제 이스라엘 자손의 말을
듣지 아니하고
20:13 Now give up those good-for-nothing persons in Gibeah so that we may put them to
death, clearing away the evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not
give ear to the voice of their brothers, the children of Israel.
20:13 Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are
in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But
the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the
children of Israel.
20:14 도리어 각 성읍에서 기브아에 모이고 나가서 이스라엘 자손과 싸우고자 하니
20:14 And the children of Benjamin came together from all their towns to Gibeah, to go
to war with the children of Israel.
20:14 But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the
cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
20:15 그 때에 성읍들에서 나온 베냐민 자손의 수는 칼을 빼는 자가 모두 이만
육천이요 그 외에 기브아 거민 중 택한 자가 칠백인데
20:15 And the children of Benjamin who came that day from the towns were twenty-six thousand
men armed with swords, in addition to the people of Gibeah, numbering seven hundred
of the best fighting-men,
20:15 And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the
cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the inhabitants of
Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
20:16 이 모든 백성 중에서 택한 칠백 명은 다 왼손잡이라 물매로 돌을 던지면
호리도 틀림이 없는 자더라
20:16 Who were left-handed, able to send a stone at a hair without error.
20:16 Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded;
every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.
20:17 ○ 베냐민 자손 외에 이스라엘 사람의 칼을 빼는 자의 수는 사십만 명이니
다 전사라
20:17 And the men of Israel, other than Benjamin, were four hundred thousand in number,
all armed with swords; they were all men of war.
20:17 And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred
thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
20:18 이스라엘 자손이 일어나 벧엘에 올라가서 하나님께 묻자와 가로되 우리
중에 누가 먼저 올라가서 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 유다가
먼저일지니라
20:18 And they got up and went up to Beth-el to get directions from God, and the children
of Israel said, Who is to be the first to go up to the fight against the children
of Benjamin? And the Lord said, Judah is to go up first.
20:18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God,
and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle
against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
20:19 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 아침에 일어나 기브아를 대하여 진을 치니라
20:19 So the children of Israel got up in the morning and put themselves in position against
Gibeah.
20:19 And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against
Gibeah.
20:20 이스라엘 사람들이 나가서 항오를 벌이고 거기서 그들과 싸우고자 하매
20:20 And the men of Israel went out to war against Benjamin (and the men of Israel put
their forces in fighting order against them at Gibeah).
20:20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the
men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
20:21 베냐민 자손이 기브아에서 나와서 당일에 이스라엘 사람 이만 이천을 땅에
엎드러뜨렸으나
20:21 Then the children of Benjamin came out from Gibeah, cutting down twenty-two thousand
of the Israelites that day.
20:21 And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed
down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
20:22 이스라엘 사람들이 스스로 용기를 내어 첫날 항오를 벌였던 곳에 다시 항오를
벌이니라
20:22 But the people, the men of Israel, taking heart again, put their forces in order
and took up the same position as on the first day.
20:22 And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their
battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first
day.
20:23 이스라엘 자손이 올라가서 여호와 앞에서 저물도록 울며 여호와께 묻자와
가로되 내가 다시 나아가서 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대
올라가서 치라 하시니라
20:23 Now the children of Israel went up, weeping before the Lord till evening, requesting
the Lord and saying, Am I to go forward again to the fight against the children
of Benjamin my brother? And the Lord said, Go up against him.
20:23 (And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until
even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against
the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
20:24 ○ 그 이튿날에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 자손을 치러 나아가매
20:24 So the children of Israel went forward against the children of Benjamin the second
day.
20:24 And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin
the second day.
20:25 베냐민도 그 이튿날에 기브아에서 그들을 치러 나와서 다시 이스라엘 자손
일만 팔천을 땅에 엎드러뜨렸으니 다 칼을 빼는 자였더라
20:25 And the second day Benjamin went out against them from Gibeah, cutting down eighteen
thousand men of the children of Israel, all swordsmen.
20:25 And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day,
and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand
men; all these drew the sword.
20:26 이에 온 이스라엘 자손 모든 백성이 올라가서 벧엘에 이르러 울며 거기서
여호와 앞에 앉고 그 날이 저물도록 금식하고 번제와 화목제를 여호와 앞에 드리고
20:26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up to Beth-el, weeping
and waiting there before the Lord, going without food all day till evening, and
offering burned offerings and peace-offerings before the Lord.
20:26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came
unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that
day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
20:27 여호와께 물으니라 {그 때에는 하나님의 언약궤가 거기 있고
20:27 And the children of Israel made request to the Lord, (for the ark of the agreement
of the Lord was there in those days,
20:27 And the children of Israel enquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the
covenant of God was there in those days,
20:28 아론의 손자 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 그 앞에 모셨더라} 이스라엘 자손이
묻자오되 내가 다시 나가 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 말리이까 여호와께서
가라사대 올라가라 내일은 내가 그를 네 손에 붙이리라
20:28 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, was in his place before it,)
and said, Am I still to go on with the fight against the children of Benjamin my
brother, or am I to give it up? And the Lord said, Go on; for tomorrow I will give
him into your hands.
20:28 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it
in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children
of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; in order
to morrow I will deliver them into yours hand.
20:29 ○ 이스라엘이 기브아 사면에 군사를 매복하니라
20:29 So Israel put men secretly all round Gibeah to make a surprise attack on it.
20:29 And Israel set hidden attackers in wait round about Gibeah.
20:30 이스라엘 자손이 제 삼 일에 베냐민 자손에게로 치러 올라가서 전과 같이
기브아를 대하여 항오를 벌이매
20:30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third
day, and put themselves in fighting order against Gibeah as before.
20:30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin
on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
20:31 베냐민 자손이 나와서 백성을 맞더니 꾀임에 빠져 성읍을 떠났더라 그들이
큰 길 곧 한편은 벧엘로 올라가는 길이요 한편은 기브아의 들로 가는 길에서 백성을
쳐서 전과 같이 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명 가량을 죽이기 시작하며
20:31 And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, moving away from the town;
and as before, at their first attack, they put to death about thirty men of Israel
on the highways, of which one goes up to Beth-el and the other to Gibeah, and in
the open country.
20:31 And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were
drawn away from the city; and they began to strike of the people, and kill,
as at other times, in the highways, of which one goes up to the house of God,
and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
20:32 스스로 이르기를 이들이 처음과 같이 우리 앞에서 패한다 하나 이스라엘
자손은 이르기를 우리가 도망하여 그들을 성읍에서 큰 길로 꾀어내자 하고
20:32 And the children of Benjamin said, They are giving way before us as at first. But
the children of Israel said, Let us go in flight and get them away from the town,
into the highways.
20:32 And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us,
as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them
from the city unto the highways.
20:33 이스라엘 사람이 모두 그 처소에서 일어나서 바알다말에 항오를 별였고
그 복병은 그 처소 곧 기브아 초장에서 쏟아져 나왔더라
20:33 So all the men of Israel got up and put themselves in fighting order at Baal-tamar:
and those who had been waiting secretly to make a surprise attack came rushing out
of their place on the west of Geba.
20:33 And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves
in array at Baaltamar: and the hidden attackers in wait of Israel came forth
out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
20:34 온 이스라엘 사람 중에서 택한 사람 일만이 기브아에 이르러 치매 싸움이
심히 맹렬하나 베냐민 사람은 화가 자기에게 미친 줄을 알지 못하였더라
20:34 And they came in front of Gibeah, ten thousand of the best men in all Israel, and
the fighting became more violent; but the children of Benjamin were not conscious
that evil was coming on them.
20:34 And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel,
and the battle was sore: but they knew not that evil was near them.
20:35 여호와께서 이스라엘 앞에서 베냐민을 쳐서 파하게 하시매 당일에 이스라엘
자손이 베냐민 사람 이만 오천 일백을 죽였으니 다 칼을 빼는 자이었더라
20:35 Then the Lord sent sudden fear on Benjamin before Israel; and that day the children
of Israel put to death twenty-five thousand, one hundred men of Benjamin, all of
them swordsmen.
20:35 And the LORD stroke Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel
destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred
men: all these drew the sword.
20:36 ○ 이에 베냐민 자손이 자기가 패한 것을 깨달았으니 이는 이스라엘 사람이
기브아에 매복한 군사를 믿고 잠간 베냐민 사람 앞을 피하매
20:36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were overcome: and the men of Israel had
given way before Benjamin, putting their faith in the watchers who were to make
the surprise attack on Gibeah.
20:36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men
of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the hidden
attackers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
20:37 복병이 급히 나와 기브아에 돌입하고 나아가며 칼날로 온 성읍을 쳤음이더라
20:37 And the watchers, rushing on Gibeah and overrunning it, put all the town to the
sword without mercy.
20:37 And the hidden attackers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and
the hidden attackers in wait drew themselves along, and stroke all the city
with the edge of the sword.
20:38 처음에 이스라엘 사람과 복병 사이에 상약하기를 성읍에서 큰 연기가 치미는
것으로 군호를 삼자 하고
20:38 Now the sign fixed between the men of Israel and those making the surprise attack
was that when they made a pillar of smoke go up from the town,
20:38 Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the hidden
attackers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out
of the city.
20:39 이스라엘 사람은 싸우다가 물러가고 베냐민 사람은 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명
가량을 쳐죽이기를 시작하며 이르기를 이들이 정녕 처음 싸움 같이 우리에게 패한다 하다가
20:39 The men of Israel were to make a turn about in the fight. And Benjamin had overcome
and put to death about thirty of the men of Israel, and were saying, Certainly they
are falling back before us as in the first fight.
20:39 And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to
strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely
they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
20:40 연기 구름이 기둥 같이 성읍 가운데서 일어날 때에 베냐민 사람이 돌아보매
온 성읍에 연기가 하늘에 닿았고
20:40 Then the sign went up out of the town in the pillar of smoke, and the Benjamites,
turning back, saw all the town going up in smoke to heaven.
20:40 But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar
of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city
ascended up to heaven.
20:41 이스라엘 사람은 돌이키는지라 베냐민 사람이 화가 자기에게 미친 것을
보고 심히 놀라
20:41 And the men of Israel had made a turn about, and the men of Benjamin were overcome
with fear, for they saw that evil had overtaken them.
20:41 And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed:
for they saw that evil was come upon them.
20:42 이스라엘 사람 앞에서 몸을 돌이켜 광야 길로 향하였으나 군사가 급히 추격하며
각 성읍에서 나온 자를 그 가운데서 진멸하니라
20:42 So turning their backs on the men of Israel, they went in the direction of the waste
land; but the fight overtook them; and those who came out of the town were heading
them off and putting them to the sword.
20:42 Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the
way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out
of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
20:43 그들이 베냐민 사람을 에워쌌더니 기브아 앞 동편까지 쫓으며 그 쉬는 곳에서
짓밟으매
20:43 And crushing Benjamin down, they went after them, driving them from Nohah as far
as the east side of Gibeah.
20:43 Thus they enclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and
trode them down with ease opposite to Gibeah toward the sunrising.
20:44 베냐민 중에서 엎드러진 자가 일만 팔천이니 다 용사더라
20:44 Eighteen thousand men of Benjamin came to their death, all strong men of war.
20:44 And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men
of valour.
20:45 그들이 몸을 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르는 큰 길에서 이스라엘이
또 오천 명을 이삭 줍듯 하고 또 급히 따라 기돔에 이르러 또 이천 명을 죽였으니
20:45 And turning, they went in flight to the rock of Rimmon in the waste land: and on
the highways five thousand of them were cut off by the men of Israel, who, pushing
on hard after them to Geba, put to death two thousand more.
20:45 And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon:
and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard
after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
20:46 이 날에 베냐민의 칼을 빼는 자의 엎드러진 것이 모두 이만 오천이니 다
용사더라
20:46 So twenty-five thousand of the swordsmen of Benjamin came to their end that day,
all strong men of war.
20:46 So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand
men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
20:47 베냐민 육백 명이 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르러 거기서 넉 달을
지내었더라
20:47 But six hundred men, turning back, went in flight to the rock of Rimmon in the waste
land, and were living on the rock of Rimmon for four months.
20:47 But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock
Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
20:48 이스라엘 사람이 베냐민 자손에게로 돌아와서 온 성읍과 가축과 만나는
자를 다 칼날로 치고 닥치는 성읍마다 다 불살랐더라
20:48 And the men of Israel, turning again against the children of Benjamin, put to the
sword without mercy all the towns and the cattle and everything there was, burning
every town which came into their hands.
20:48 And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and
stroke them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the
beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that
they came to.
21:1 이스라엘 사람들이 미스바에서 맹세하여 이르기를 우리 중에 누구든지 딸을
베냐민 사람에게 아내로 주지 아니하리라 하였더라
21:1 Now the men of Israel had taken an oath in Mizpah, saying, Not one of us will give
his daughter as a wife to Benjamin.
21:1 Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any
of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
21:2 백성이 벧엘에 이르러 거기서 저녁까지 하나님 앞에 앉아서 대성통곡하여
21:2 And the people came to Beth-el, waiting there till evening before God, and gave
themselves up to bitter weeping.
21:2 And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before
God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;
21:3 가로되 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 오늘날 이스라엘 중에 어찌하여 한 지파가
이즈러졌나이까 하더니
21:3 And they said, O Lord, the God of Israel, why has this fate come on Israel, that
today one tribe has been cut off from Israel?
21:3 And said, O LORD God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel,
that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?
21:4 이튿날에 백성이 일찌기 일어나서 거기 한 단을 쌓고 번제와 화목제를 드렸더라
21:4 Then on the day after, the people got up early and made an altar there, offering
burned offerings and peace-offerings.
21:4 And it came to pass on the next day, that the people rose early, and
built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
21:5 이스라엘 자손이 가로되 이스라엘 온 지파 중에 총회와 함께 하여 여호와
앞에 올라오지 아니한 자가 누구뇨 하니 이는 그들이 크게 맹세하기를 미스바에 와서
여호와 앞에 이르지 아니하는 자는 반드시 죽일 것이라 하였음이라
21:5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel, who
did not come up to the Lord at the meeting of all Israel? For they had taken a great
oath that whoever did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord was to be put to death.
21:5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of
Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made
a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying,
He shall surely be put to death.
21:6 이스라엘 자손이 그 형제 베냐민을 위하여 뉘우쳐 가로되 오늘날 이스라엘
중에 한 지파가 끊쳤도다
21:6 And the children of Israel were moved with pity for Benjamin their brother, saying,
Today one tribe has been cut off from Israel.
21:6 And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother,
and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.
21:7 그 남은 자들에게 우리가 어떻게 하면 아내를 얻게 하리요 우리가 전에 여호와로
맹세하여 우리 딸을 그들의 아내로 주지 아니하리라 하였도다
21:7 What are we to do about wives for those who are still living? For we have taken
an oath by the Lord that we will not give them our daughters for wives.
21:7 How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn
by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?
21:8 ○ 또 가로되 이스라엘 지파 중 미스바에 올라와서 여호와께 이르지 아니한
자가 누구뇨 하고 본즉 야베스 길르앗에서는 한 사람도 진에 이르러 총회에 참여치
아니하였으니
21:8 And they said, Which one of the tribes of Israel did not come up to Mizpah to the
Lord? And it was seen that no one had come from Jabesh-gilead to the meeting.
21:8 And they said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel that came not
up to Mizpeh to the LORD? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabeshgilead
to the assembly.
21:9 백성을 계수할 때에 야베스 길르앗 거민이 하나도 거기 없음을 보았음이라
21:9 For when the people were numbered, not one man of the people of Jabesh-gilead was
present.
21:9 For the people were numbered, and, behold, there were none of the inhabitants
of Jabeshgilead there.
21:10 회중이 큰 용사 일만 이천을 그리로 보내며 그들에게 명하여 가로되 가서
야베스 길르앗 거민과 및 부녀와 어린 아이를 칼날로 치라
21:10 So they (the meeting) sent twelve thousand of the best fighting-men, and gave them
orders, saying, Go and put the people of Jabesh-gilead to the sword without mercy,
with their women and their little ones.
21:10 And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiant,
and commanded them, saying, Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with
the edge of the sword, with the women and the children.
21:11 너희의 행할 일은 모든 남자와 남자와 잔 여자를 진멸할 것이니라 하였더니
21:11 And this is what you are to do: every male, and every woman who has had sex relations
with a man, you are to put to the curse, but you are to keep safe the virgins. And
they did so.
21:11 And this is the thing that all of you shall do, All of you shall utterly
destroy every male, and every woman that has lain by man.
21:12 그들이 야베스 길르앗 거민 중에서 젊은 처녀 사백 인을 얻었으니 이는 아직
남자와 자지 아니하여서 남자를 알지 못하는 자라 그들이 실로 진으로 끌어 오니라
이는 가나안 땅이더라
21:12 Now there were among the people of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who
had never had sex relations with a man; these they took to their tents in Shiloh
in the land of Canaan.
21:12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead four hundred young
virgins, that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them
unto the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.
21:13 ○ 온 회중이 림몬 바위에 있는 베냐민 자손에게 보내어 평화를 공포하게
하였더니
21:13 And all the meeting sent to the men of Benjamin who were in the rock of Rimmon,
offering them peace.
21:13 And the whole congregation sent some to speak to the children of Benjamin
that were in the rock Rimmon, and to call peaceably unto them.
21:14 그 때에 베냐민이 돌아온지라 이에 이스라엘 사람이 야베스 길르앗 여인
중에서 살려둔 여자를 그들에게 주었으나 오히려 부족하므로
21:14 Then Benjamin came back; and they gave them the women whom they had kept from death
among the women of Jabesh-gilead: but still there were not enough for them.
21:14 And Benjamin came again at that time; and they gave them wives which
they had saved alive of the women of Jabeshgilead: and yet so they sufficed
them not.
21:15 백성들이 베냐민을 위하여 뉘우쳤으니 이는 여호와께서 이스라엘 지파들
중에 한 지파가 궐이 나게 하셨음이더라
21:15 And the people were moved with pity for Benjamin, because the Lord had let his wrath
loose on the tribes of Israel.
21:15 And the people repented them for Benjamin, because that the LORD had
made a breach in the tribes of Israel.
21:16 회중 장로들이 가로되 베냐민의 여인이 다 멸절되었으니 이제 그 남은 자들에게
어떻게 하여야 아내를 얻게 할꼬
21:16 Then the responsible men of the meeting said, What are we to do about wives for
the rest of them, seeing that the women of Benjamin are dead?
21:16 Then the elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives
for them that remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
21:17 또 가로되 베냐민의 도망하여 면한 자에게 마땅히 기업이 있어야 하리니
그리하면 이스라엘 중에 한 지파가 사라짐이 없으리라
21:17 And they said, How is the rest of Benjamin to be given offspring so that one tribe
of Israel may not be put out of existence,
21:17 And they said, There must be an inheritance for them that be escaped
of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.
21:18 그러나 우리가 우리의 딸을 그들의 아내로 주지 못하리니 이는 이스라엘
자손이 맹세하여 이르기를 딸을 베냐민에게 아내로 주는 자는 저주를 받으리라 하였음이로다
21:18 Seeing that we may not give them our daughters as wives? For the children of Israel
had taken an oath, saying, Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin.
21:18 Nevertheless we may not give them wives of our daughters: for the children
of Israel have sworn, saying, Cursed be he that gives a wife to Benjamin.
21:19 또 가로되 보라 벧엘 북편, 르보나 남편 벧엘에서 세겜으로 올라가는 큰
길
동편 실로에 매년 여호와의 절기가 있도다 하고
21:19 And they said, See, every year there is a feast of the Lord in Shiloh, which is
to the north of Beth-el, on the east side of the highway which goes up from Beth-el
to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
21:19 Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly
in a place which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway
that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
21:20 베냐민 자손에게 명하여 가로되 가서 포도원에 숨어
21:20 And they said to the men of Benjamin, Go into the vine-gardens, waiting there secretly,
21:20 Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie
in wait in the vineyards;
21:21 보다가 실로의 여자들이 무도하러 나오거든 너희는 포도원에서 나와서 실로의
딸 중에서 각각 그 아내로 붙들어 가지고 베냐민 땅으로 돌아가라
21:21 And watching; and if the daughters of Shiloh come out to take part in the dances,
then come from the vine-gardens and take a wife for every one of you from among
the daughters of Shiloh, and go back to the land of Benjamin.
21:21 And see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance
in dances, then come all of you out of the vineyards, and catch you every man
his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.
21:22 만일 그 아비나 형제가 와서 우리에게 쟁론하면 우리가 그에게 말하기를
청컨대 너희는 우리에게 은혜를 베풀어 그들을 우리에게 줄지니라 이는 우리가 전쟁할
때에 각 사람을 위하여 그 아내를 얻어 주지 못하였고 너희가 자의로 그들에게 준
것이 아니니 너희에게 죄가 없을 것임이니라 하겠노라 하매
21:22 And when their fathers or their brothers come and make trouble, you are to say to
them, Give them to us as an act of grace; for we did not take them as wives for
ourselves in war; and if you yourselves had given them to us you would have been
responsible for the broken oath.
21:22 And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us
to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes:
because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for all of you did
not give unto them at this time, that all of you should be guilty.
21:23 베냐민 자손이 그 같이 행하여 춤추는 여자 중에서 자기들의 수효대로 아내로
붙들어 가지고 자기 기업에 돌아가서 성읍들을 중건하고 거기 거하니라
21:23 So the men of Benjamin did this, and got wives for themselves for every one of their
number, taking them away by force from the dance; then they went back to their heritage,
building up their towns and living in them.
21:23 And the children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives, according
to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went and returned
unto their inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in them.
21:24 그 때에 이스라엘 자손이 그 곳을 떠나 각각 그 지파, 그 가족에게로 돌아가되
곧 각각 그 곳에서 나와서 자기 기업으로 돌아갔더라
21:24 Then the children of Israel went away from there, every man to his tribe and his
family, every man went back to his heritage.
21:24 And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man
to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from thence every man to his
inheritance.
21:25 ○ 그 때에 이스라엘에 왕이 없으므로 사람이 각각 그 소견에 옳은 대로
행하였더라
21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right to him.
21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which
was right in his own eyes.
