1:1 After the death of Ahab, Moab made itself free from the authority of Israel.
1:1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

1:2 ¾ÆÇϽþ߰¡ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ±× ´Ù¶ô ³­°£¿¡¼­ ¶³¾îÁ® º´µé¸Å »çÀÚ¸¦ º¸³»¸ç ÀúÈñ´õ·¯ À̸£µÇ °¡¼­ ¿¡±×·ÐÀÇ ½Å ¹Ù¾Ë¼¼ºÖ¿¡°Ô ÀÌ º´ÀÌ ³´°Ú³ª ¹°¾î º¸¶ó Çϴ϶ó
1:2 Now Ahaziah had a fall from the window of his room in Samaria, and was ill. And he sent men, and said to them, Put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, about the outcome of my disease, to see if I will get well or not.
1:2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

1:3 But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go now, and, meeting the men sent by the king of Samaria, say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you are going to get directions from Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?
1:3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that all of you go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

1:4 Give ear then to the words of the Lord: You will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. Then Elijah went away.
1:4 Now therefore thus says the LORD, You shall not come down from that bed on which you are gone up, but shall surely die. And Elijah departed.

1:5 And the men he had sent came back to the king; and he said to them, Why have you come back?
1:5 And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are all of you now turned back?

1:6 And they said to him, On our way we had a meeting with a man who said, Go back to the king who sent you and say to him, The Lord says, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you send to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? For this reason, you will not come down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you.
1:6 And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, return unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus says the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that you send to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore you shall not come down from that bed on which you are gone up, but shall surely die.

1:7 And he said to them, What sort of a man was it who came and said these words to you?
1:7 And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?

1:8 ÀúÈñ°¡ ´ë´äÇ쵂 ±×´Â ÅÐÀÌ ¸¹Àº »ç¶÷Àε¥ Ç㸮¿¡ °¡Á× ¶ì¸¦ ¶ì¾ú´õÀÌ´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ±×´Â µð¼Á »ç¶÷ ¿¤¸®¾ß·Î´Ù
1:8 And they said in answer, He was a man clothed in a coat of hair, with a leather band about his body. Then he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
1:8 And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

1:9 Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God, the king has said, Come down.
1:9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spoke unto him, You man of God, the king has said, Come down.

1:10 And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men.
1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume you and your fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:11 Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah, O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly.
1:11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus has the king said, Come down quickly.

1:12 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô ´ë´äÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ ¸¸ÀÏ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ¸é ºÒÀÌ Çϴÿ¡¼­ ³»·Á¿Í¼­ ³Ê¿Í ³ÊÀÇ ¿À½Ê ÀÎÀ» »ç¸¦Áö·Î´Ù ÇϸŠÇϳª´ÔÀÇ ºÒÀÌ °ð Çϴÿ¡¼­ ³»·Á¿Í¼­ Àú¿Í ±× ¿À½Ê ÀÎÀ» »ì¶ú´õ¶ó
1:12 And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men.
1:12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume you and your fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:13 Then he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men; and the third captain of fifty went up, and falling on his knees before Elijah, requesting mercy of him, said, O man of God, let my life and the life of these your fifty servants be of value to you.
1:13 And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray you, let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.

1:14 ºÒÀÌ Çϴÿ¡¼­ ³»·Á¿Í¼­ Àü¹øÀÇ ¿À½ÊºÎÀå µÑ°ú ±× ¿À½Ê ÀεéÀ» »ì¶ú°Å´Ï¿Í ³ªÀÇ »ý¸íÀ» ´ç½ÅÀº ±ÍÈ÷ º¸¼Ò¼­ ÇϸÅ
1:14 For fire came down from heaven and put an end to the first two captains of fifty and their fifties; but now let my life be of value in your eyes.
1:14 Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in your sight.

1:15 ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »çÀÚ°¡ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³Ê´Â Àú¸¦ µÎ·Á¿ö ¸»°í ÇÔ²² ³»·Á°¡¶ó ÇϽÅÁö¶ó ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ °ð ÀϾ Àú¿Í ÇÔ²² ³»·Á¿Í¼­ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô À̸£·¯
1:15 Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, Go down with him; have no fear of him. So he got up and went down with him to the king.
1:15 And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

1:16 And he said to him, This is the word of the Lord: Because you sent men to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, for this reason you will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you.
1:16 And he said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Forasmuch as you have sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore you shall not come down off that bed on which you are gone up, but shall surely die.

1:17 ¡Û ¿ÕÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ßÀÇ ÀüÇÑ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸´ë·Î Á×°í Àú°¡ ¾ÆµéÀÌ ¾øÀ¸¹Ç·Î ¿©È£¶÷ÀÌ ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ´Ï À¯´Ù ¿Õ ¿©È£»ç¹åÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿©È£¶÷ÀÇ Á¦ ÀÌ ³âÀ̾ú´õ¶ó
1:17 So death came to him, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah. And Jehoram became king in his place in the second year of the rule of Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; because he had no son.
1:17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his position in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

1:18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

2:1 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ȸ¸®¹Ù¶÷À¸·Î ¿¤¸®¾ß¸¦ Çϴÿ¡ ¿Ã¸®°íÀÚ ÇÏ½Ç ¶§¿¡ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¿¤¸®»ç·Î ´õºÒ¾î ±æ°¥¿¡¼­ ³ª°¡´õ´Ï
2:1 Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a great wind, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2:1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

2:2 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¿¤¸®»ç¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ûÄÁ´ë ³Ê´Â ¿©±â ¸Ó¹°¶ó ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ª¸¦ º¦¿¤·Î º¸³»½Ã´À´Ï¶ó ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »ç½É°ú ´ç½ÅÀÇ È¥ÀÇ »îÀ» °¡¸®ÄÑ ¸Í¼¼Çϳë´Ï ³»°¡ ´ç½ÅÀ» ¶°³ªÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°Ú³ªÀÌ´Ù ÀÌ¿¡ µÎ »ç¶÷ÀÌ º¦¿¤·Î ³»·Á°¡´Ï
2:2 And Elijah said to Elisha, Come no farther for the Lord has sent me to Beth-el. But Elisha said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went down to Beth-el.
2:2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel.

2:3 And at Beth-el the sons of the prophets came out to Elisha and said, Has it been made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over you today? And he said, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.
2:3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace.

2:4 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. But he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went on to Jericho.
2:4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they came to Jericho.

2:5 And at Jericho the sons of the prophets came up to Elisha and said to him, Has it been made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over you today? And he said in answer, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.

2:6 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. But he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted from you. So they went on together.
2:6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray you, here; for the LORD has sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they two went on.

2:7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went out and took their places facing them a long way off, while the two of them were by the edge of Jordan.
2:7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view far off: and they two stood by Jordan.

2:8 Then Elijah took off his robe, and, rolling it up, gave the water a blow with it, and the waters were parted, flowing back this way and that, so that they went over on dry land.
2:8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and stroke the waters, and they were divided here and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

2:9 And when they had come to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, Say what you would have me do for you before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, Be pleased to let a special measure of your spirit be on me.
2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away from you. And Elisha said, I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.

2:10 And he said, You have made a hard request: still, if you see me when I am taken from you, you will get your desire; but if not, it will not be so.
2:10 And he said, You have asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so unto you; but if not, it shall not be so.

2:11 µÎ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ÇàÇÏ¸ç ¸»ÇÏ´õ´Ï Ȧ¿¬È÷ ºÒ¼ö·¹¿Í ºÒ¸»µéÀÌ µÎ »ç¶÷À» °ÝÇÏ°í ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ȸ¸®¹Ù¶÷À» Ÿ°í ½ÂõÇÏ´õ¶ó
2:11 And while they went on their way, going on talking together, suddenly there were carriages and horses of fire separating them from one another and Elijah went up to heaven in a great wind.
2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

2:12 And when Elisha saw it he gave a cry, My father, my father, the carriages of Israel and its horsemen! And he saw him no longer; and he was full of grief.
2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

2:13 Then he took up Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and went back till he came to the edge of Jordan.
2:13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

2:14 And he took Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and giving the water a blow with it, said, Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah? and at his blow the waters were parted this way and that; and Elisha went over.
2:14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and stroke the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted here and thither: and Elisha went over.

2:15 And when the sons of the prophets who were facing him at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha. And they came out to him, and went down on the earth before him.
2:15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

2:16 And they said, Your servants have with us here fifty strong men; be pleased to let them go in search of Elijah; for it may be that the spirit of the Lord has taken him up and put him down on some mountain or in some valley. But he said, Do not send them.
2:16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with your servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray you, and seek your master: lest possibly the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, All of you shall not send.

2:17 But when they kept on requesting him, he was shamed and said, Send, then. So they sent fifty men; but after searching for three days, they came back without having seen him.
2:17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.

2:18 And they came back to him, while he was still at Jericho; and he said to them, Did I not say to you, Go not?
2:18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?

2:19 Now the men of the town said to Elisha, You see that the position of this town is good; but the water is bad, causing the young of the cattle to come to birth dead.
2:19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray you, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees: but the water is nil, and the ground barren.

2:20 So he said, Get me a new vessel, and put salt in it; and they took it to him.
2:20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.

2:21 Then he went out to the spring from which the water came, and put salt in it, and said, The Lord says, Now I have made this water sweet; no longer will it be death-giving or unfertile.
2:21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus says the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.

2:22 And the water was made sweet again to this day, as Elisha said.
2:22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spoke.

2:23 Then from there he went up to Beth-el; and on his way, some little boys came out from the town and made sport of him, crying, Go up, old no-hair! go up, old no-hair!
2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, you bald head; go up, you bald head.

2:24 And turning back, he saw them, and put a curse on them in the name of the Lord. And two she-bears came out of the wood and put forty-two of the children to death.
2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

2:25 From there he went to Mount Carmel, and came back from there to Samaria.

3:1 And Jehoram, the son of Ahab, became king over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of the rule of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; and he was king for twelve years.
3:1 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

3:2 Àú°¡ ¿©È£¿Í º¸½Ã±â¿¡ ¾ÇÀ» ÇàÇÏ¿´À¸³ª ±× ºÎ¸ð¿Í °°ÀÌ ÇÏÁö´Â ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ÀÌ´Â Àú°¡ ±× ¾ÆºñÀÇ ¸¸µç ¹Ù¾ËÀÇ ÁÖ»óÀ» Á¦ÇÏ¿´À½À̶ó
3:2 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord; but not like his father and his mother, for he put away the stone pillar of Baal which his father had made.
3:2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

3:3 But still he did the same sins which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do; he went on in them.
3:3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not from it.

3:4 Now Mesha, king of Moab, was a sheep-farmer; and he gave regularly to the king of Israel the wool from a hundred thousand lambs and a hundred thousand sheep.
3:4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.

3:5 ¾ÆÇÕÀÌ Á×Àº ÈÄ¿¡ ¸ð¾Ð ¿ÕÀÌ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿ÕÀ» ¹è¹ÝÇÑÁö¶ó
3:5 But when Ahab was dead, the king of Moab got free from the authority of the king of Israel.
3:5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.

3:6 ±× ¶§¿¡ ¿©È£¶÷ ¿ÕÀÌ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¿¡¼­ ³ª°¡¼­ ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤À» Á¡°íÇÏ°í
3:6 At that time, King Jehoram went out from Samaria and got all Israel together in fighting order.
3:6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.

3:7 ¶Ç °¡¼­ À¯´Ù ¿Õ ¿©È£»ç¹å¿¡°Ô º¸³»¾î À̸£µÇ ¸ð¾Ð ¿ÕÀÌ ³ª¸¦ ¹è¹ÝÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ´ç½ÅÀº ³ª¿Í ÇÔ²² °¡¼­ ¸ð¾ÐÀ» Ä¡½Ã°Ú´À´¢ Àú°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ ¿Ã¶ó°¡¸®ÀÌ´Ù ³ª´Â ´ç½Å°ú ÀϹÝÀÌ¿ä ³» ¹é¼ºÀº ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¹é¼º°ú ÀϹÝÀÌ¿ä ³» ¸»µéµµ ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¸»µé°ú ÀϹÝÀÌ´ÏÀÌ´Ù
3:7 And he sent to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab has got free from my authority: will you go with me to make war on Moab? And he said, I will go with you: I am as you are, my people as your people, and my horses as your horses.
3:7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab has rebelled against me: will you go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as you are, my people as your people, and my horses as your horses.

3:8 ¿©È£¶÷ÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾î´À ±æ·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡¸®À̱î Àú°¡ ´ë´äÇ쵂 ¿¡µ¼ ±¤¾ß ±æ·Î´ÏÀÌ´Ù
3:8 And he said, Which way are we to go? And he said in answer, By the waste land of Edom.
3:8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

3:9 So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom by a roundabout way for seven days: and there was no water for the army or for the beasts they had with them.
3:9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.

3:10 And the king of Israel said, Here is trouble: for the Lord has got these three kings together to give them into the hands of Moab.
3:10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD has called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!

3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may get directions from the Lord? And one of the king of Israel's men said in answer, Elisha, the son of Shaphat, is here, who was servant to Elijah.
3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

3:12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

3:13 But Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? go to the prophets of your father and your mother. And the king of Israel said, No; for the Lord has got these three kings together to give them up into the hands of Moab.
3:13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? get you to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD has called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

3:14 Then Elisha said, By the life of the Lord of armies whose servant I am, if it was not for the respect I have for Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, I would not give a look at you, or see you.
3:14 And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.

3:15 But now, get me a player of music, and it will come about that while the man is playing, the hand of the Lord will come on me and I will give you the word of the Lord: and they got a player of music, and while the man was playing, the hand of the Lord was on him.
3:15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

3:16 And he said, Thus says the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.

3:17 For the Lord says, Though you see no wind or rain, the valley will be full of water, and you and your armies and your beasts will have drink.
3:17 For thus says the LORD, All of you shall not see wind, neither shall all of you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that all of you may drink, both all of you, and your cattle, and your beasts.

3:18 And this will be only a small thing to the Lord: in addition he will give the Moabites into your hands.
3:18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.

3:19 And you are to put every walled town to destruction, cutting down every good tree, and stopping up every water-spring, and making all the good land rough with stones.
3:19 And all of you shall strike every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.

3:20 Now in the morning, about the time when the offering was made, they saw water flowing from the direction of Edom till the country was full of water.
3:20 And it came to pass in the morning, when the food offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

3:21 Now all Moab, hearing that the kings had come to make war against them, got together all who were able to take up arms and went forward to the edge of the country.
3:21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.

3:22 And early in the morning they got up, when the sun was shining on the water, and they saw the water facing them as red as blood.
3:22 And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:

3:23 Then they said, This is blood: it is clear that destruction has come on the kings; they have been fighting one another: now come, Moab, let us take their goods.
3:23 And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.

3:24 But when they came to the tents of Israel, the Israelites came out and made a violent attack on the Moabites, so that they went in flight before them; and they went forward still attacking them;
3:24 And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and stroke the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.

3:25 Pulling down the towns, covering every good field with stones, stopping up all the water-springs, and cutting down all the good trees; they went on driving Moab before them till only in Kir-hareseth were there any Moabites; and the fighting-men went round the town raining stones on it.
3:25 And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof; nevertheless the slingers went about it, and stroke it.

3:26 And when the king of Moab saw that the fight was going against him, he took with him seven hundred men armed with swords, with the idea of forcing a way through to the king of Aram, but they were not able to do so.
3:26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.

3:27 Then he took his oldest son, who would have been king after him, offering him as a burned offering on the wall. So there was great wrath against Israel; and they went away from him, back to their country.
3:27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his position, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

4:1 Now a certain woman, the wife of one of the sons of the prophets, came crying to Elisha and said, Your servant my husband is dead; and to your knowledge he was a worshipper of the Lord; but now, the creditor has come to take my two children as servants in payment of his debt.
4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

4:2 Then Elisha said to her, What am I to do for you? say now, what have you in the house? And she said, Your servant has nothing in the house but a pot of oil.
4:2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for you? tell me, what have you in the house? And she said, Yours handmaid has not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

4:3 Then he said, Go out to all your neighbours and get vessels, a very great number of them.
4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4:4 Then go in, and, shutting the door on yourself and your sons, put oil into all these vessels, putting on one side the full ones.
4:4 And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full.

4:5 So she went away, and when the door was shut on her and her sons, they took the vessels to her and she put oil into them.
4:5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

4:6 And when all the vessels were full, she said to her son, Get me another vessel. And he said, There are no more. And the flow of oil was stopped.
4:6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

4:7 ±× ¿©ÀÎÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ°¡¼­ °íÇÑ´ë Àú°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³Ê´Â °¡¼­ ±â¸§À» ÆÈ¾Æ ºúÀ» °±°í ³²Àº °ÍÀ¸·Î ³Ê¿Í ³× µÎ ¾ÆµéÀÌ »ýÈ°Ç϶ó ÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó
4:7 So she came to the man of God and gave him word of what she had done. And he said, Go and get money for the oil and make payment of your debt, and let the rest be for the needs of yourself and your sons.
4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.

4:8 Now there came a day when Elisha went to Shunem, and there was a woman of high position living there, who made him come in and have a meal with her. And after that, every time he went by, he went into her house for a meal.
4:8 And it fell upon a certain day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

4:9 And she said to her husband, Now I see that this is a holy man of God, who comes by day after day.
4:9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passes by us continually.

4:10 So let us make a little room on the wall; and put a bed there for him, and a table and a seat and a light; so that when he comes to us, he will be able to go in there.
4:10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray you, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in thither.

4:11 Now one day, when he had gone there, he went into the little room and took his rest there.

4:12 And he said to Gehazi, his servant, Send for this Shunammite. So in answer to his voice she came before him.
4:12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

4:13 And he said to him, Now say to her, See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? will you have any request made for you to the king or the captain of the army? But she said, I am living among my people.
4:13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, you have been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for you? would you be spoken in order to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

4:14 So he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi made answer, Still there is this, she has no son and her husband is old.
4:14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she has no child, and her husband is old.

4:15 Then he said, Send for her. And in answer to his voice she took her place at the door.

4:16 And Elisha said, At this time in the coming year you will have a son in your arms. And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not say what is false to your servant.
4:16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, you man of God, do not lie unto yours handmaid.

4:17 Then the woman became with child and gave birth to a son at the time named, in the year after, as Elisha had said to her.
4:17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

4:18 Now one day, when the child was older, he went out to his father to where the grain was being cut.
4:18 And when the child was grown, it fell upon a certain day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

4:19 And he said to his father, My head, my head! And the father said to a servant, Take him in to his mother.
4:19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

4:20 And he took him in to his mother, and she took him on her knees and kept him there till the middle of the day, when his life went from him.
4:20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

4:21 Then she went up and put him on the bed of the man of God, shutting the door on him, and went out.
4:21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

4:22 And she said to her husband, Send me one of the servants and one of the asses so that I may go quickly to the man of God and come back again.
4:22 And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray you, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

4:23 And he said, Why are you going to him today? it is not a new moon or a Sabbath. But she said, It is well.
4:23 And he said, Wherefore will you go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

4:24 Then she made the ass ready and said to her servant, Keep driving on; do not make a stop without orders from me.
4:24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not your riding for me, except I bid you.

4:25 So she went, and came to Mount Carmel, to the man of God. And when the man of God saw her coming in his direction, he said to Gehazi, his servant, See, there is the Shunammite;
4:25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her far off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

4:26 Go quickly to her, and on meeting her say to her, Are you well? and your husband and the child, are they well? And she said in answer, All is well.
4:26 Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with you? is it well with your husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

4:27 And when she came to where the man of God was on the hill, she put her hands round his feet; and Gehazi came near with the purpose of pushing her away; but the man of God said, Let her be, for her soul is bitter in her; and the Lord has kept it secret from me, and has not given me word of it.
4:27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD has hid it from me, and has not told me.

4:28 Then she said, Did I make a request to my lord for a son? did I not say, Do not give me false words?

4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, Make yourself ready, and take my stick in your hand, and go: if you come across anyone on the way, give him no blessing, and if anyone gives you a blessing, give him no answer. And put my stick on the child's face.
4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in yours hand, and go your way: if you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute you, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

4:30 But the mother of the child said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not go back without you. So he got up and went with her.
4:30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose, and followed her.

4:31 And Gehazi went on before them and put the stick on the child's face; but there was no voice, and no one gave attention. So he went back, and meeting him gave him the news, saying, The child is not awake.
4:31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

4:32 And when Elisha came into the house he saw the child dead, stretched on his bed.

4:33 So he went in, and shutting the door on the two of them, made prayer to the Lord.
4:33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto the LORD.

4:34 Then he got up on the bed, stretching himself out on the child, and put his mouth on the child's mouth, his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands; and the child's body became warm.
4:34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

4:35 Then he returned, and walked in the house back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

4:38 And Elisha went back to Gilgal, now there was very little food in the land; and the sons of the prophets were seated before him. And he said to his servant, Put the great pot on the fire, and make soup for the sons of the prophets.
4:38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

4:39 And one went out into the field to get green plants and saw a vine of the field, and pulling off the fruit of it till the fold of his robe was full, he came back and put the fruit, cut up small, into the pot of soup, having no idea what it was.
4:39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

4:40 Then they gave the men soup from the pot. And while they were drinking the soup, they gave a cry, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot; and they were not able to take any more food.
4:40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O you man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

4:41 But he said, Get some meal. And he put it into the pot, and said, Now give it to the people so that they may have food. And there was nothing bad in the pot.
4:41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

4:42 Now a man came from Baal-shalishah with an offering of first-fruits for the man of God, twenty barley cakes and garden fruit in his bag. And he said, Give these to the people for food.
4:42 And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

4:43 But his servant said, How am I to put this before a hundred men? But he said, Give it to the people for food; for the Lord says, There will be food for them and some over.
4:43 And his personal attendant said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus says the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

5:1 Now Naaman, chief of the army of the king of Aram, was a man of high position with his master, and greatly respected, because by him the Lord had given salvation to Aram; but he was a leper.
5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

5:2 Now the Aramaeans had gone out in bands, and taken prisoner from Israel a little girl, who became servant to Naaman's wife.
5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

5:3 And she said to her master's wife, If only my lord would go to the prophet in Samaria, he would make him well.
5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

5:4 And someone went and said to his lord, This is what the girl from the land of Israel says.
5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

5:5 ¾Æ¶÷ ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ °¥Áö¾î´Ù ÀÌÁ¦ ³»°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô ±ÛÀ» º¸³»¸®¶ó ³ª¾Æ¸¸ÀÌ °ð ¶°³¯»õ Àº ½Ê ´Þ¶õÆ®¿Í ±Ý À°Ãµ °³¿Í ÀǺ¹ ¿­ ¹úÀ» °¡Áö°í °¡¼­
5:5 So the king of Aram said, Go then; and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went, taking with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.
5:5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

5:6 And he took the letter to the king of Israel, in which the king of Aram had said, See, I have sent my servant Naaman to you to be made well, for he is a leper.
5:6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter has come unto you, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy.

5:7 But the king of Israel, after reading the letter, was greatly troubled and said, Am I God, to give death and life? why does this man send a leper to me to be made well? is it not clear that he is looking for a cause of war?
5:7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.

5:8 Now Elisha, the man of God, hearing that the king of Israel had done this, sent to the king, saying, Why are you troubled? send the man to me, so that he may see that there is a prophet in Israel.
5:8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore have you rent your clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

5:9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

5:10 And Elisha sent a servant to him, saying, Go to Jordan, and after washing seven times in its waters your flesh will be well again and you will be clean.

5:11 But Naaman was angry and went away and said, I had the idea that he would come out to see such an important person as I am, and make prayer to the Lord his God, and with a wave of his hand over the place make the leper well.
5:11 But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

5:12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not be washed in them and become clean? So turning, he went away in wrath.

5:13 Then his servants came to him and said, If the prophet had given you orders to do some great thing, would you not have done it? how much more then, when he says to you, Be washed and become clean?
5:13 And his servants came near, and spoke unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, would you not have done it? how much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?

5:14 Then he went down seven times into the waters of Jordan, as the man of God had said; and his flesh became like the flesh of a little child again, and he was clean.
5:14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

5:15 Then he went back to the man of God, with all his train, and, taking his place before him, said, Now I am certain that there is no God in all the earth, but only in Israel: now then, take an offering from me.
5:15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing of your servant.

5:16 But he said, By the life of the Lord whose servant I am, I will take nothing from you. And he did his best to make him take it but he would not.
5:16 But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

5:17 Then Naaman said, If you will not, then let there be given to your servant as much earth as two beasts are able to take on their backs; because from now on, your servant will make no offering or burned offering to other gods, but only to the Lord.
5:17 And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray you, be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth? for your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

5:18 But may your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this one thing: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon for worship there, supported on my arm, and my head is bent in the house of Rimmon; when his head is bent in the house of Rimmon, may your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this thing.
5:18 In this thing the LORD pardon your servant, that when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon your servant in this thing.

5:19 And he said to him, Go in peace. And he went from him some distance.

5:20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God, said, Now my master has taken nothing from Naaman, this Aramaean, of what he would have given him: by the living Lord, I will go after him and get something from him.
5:20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.

5:21 So Gehazi went after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he got down from his carriage and went back to him and said, Is all well?
5:21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?

5:22 And he said, All is well: but my master has sent me, saying, Even now, two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill-country of Ephraim; will you give me a talent of silver and two changes of clothing for them?
5:22 And he said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray you, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.

5:23 And Naaman said, Be good enough to take two talents. And forcing him to take them, he put two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and gave them to his two servants to take before him.
5:23 And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.

5:24 When he came to the hill, he took them from their hands, and put them away in the house; and he sent the men away, and they went.

5:25 Then he came in and took his place before his master. And Elisha said to him, Where have you come from, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went nowhere.
5:25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence come you, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went no where.

5:26 And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man got down from his carriage and went back to you? Is this a time for getting money, and clothing, and olive-gardens and vine-gardens, and sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants?
5:26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with you, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive yards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and male servants, and maidservants?

5:27 Because of what you have done, the disease of Naaman the leper will take you in its grip, and your seed after you, for ever. And he went out from before him a leper as white as snow.
5:27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto you, and unto your seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

6:1 Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, There is not room enough for us in the place where we are living under your care;
6:1 And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with you is too strait for us.

6:2 ¿ì¸®°¡ ¿ä´ÜÀ¸·Î °¡¼­ °Å±â¼­ °¢°¢ ÇÑ Àç¸ñÀ» ÃëÇÏ¿© ±× °÷¿¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ °ÅÇÒ Ã³¼Ò¸¦ ¼¼¿ì»çÀÌ´Ù ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ °¡¶ó
6:2 So let us go to Jordan, and let everyone get to work cutting boards, and we will make a living-place for ourselves there. And he said to them, Go, then.
6:2 Let us go, we pray you, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go all of you.

6:3 And one of them said, Be pleased to go with your servants. And he said, I will go.

6:5 But one of them, while cutting a board, let the head of his axe go into the water; and he gave a cry, and said, This is a bad business, my master, for it is another's.
6:5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

6:6 And the man of God said, Where did it go in? and when he saw the place where it had gone into the water, cutting a stick, he put it into the water, and the iron came up to the top of the water.
6:6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

6:7 Then he said, Take it up. So he put out his hand and took it.

6:8 At that time the king of Aram was making war against Israel; and he had a meeting with the chiefs of his army and said, I will be waiting in secret in some named place.
6:8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

6:9 Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô ±âº°ÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ÕÀº »ï°¡ ¾Æ¹« °÷À¸·Î Áö³ª°¡Áö ¸¶¼Ò¼­ ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±× °÷À¸·Î ³ª¿À³ªÀÌ´Ù
6:9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Take care to keep away from that place, for the Aramaeans are waiting there in secret.
6:9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that you pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

6:10 So the king of Israel sent to the place where the man of God had said there was danger, and kept clear of it more than once.
6:10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

6:11 And at this, the mind of the king of Aram was greatly troubled, and he sent for his servants and said to them, Will you not make clear to me which of us is helping the king of Israel?
6:11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will all of you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?

6:12 ±× ½Åº¹ Áß¿¡ Çϳª°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ì¸® ÁÖ ¿ÕÀÌ¿© ¾Æ´Ï·Î¼ÒÀÌ´Ù ¿ÀÁ÷ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¼±ÁöÀÚ ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ ¿ÕÀÌ Ä§½Ç¿¡¼­ ÇϽŠ¸»¾¸ÀÌ¶óµµ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô °íÇϳªÀÌ´Ù
6:12 And one of them said, Not one of us, my lord king; but Elisha, the prophet in Israel, gives the king of Israel news of the words you say even in your bedroom.
6:12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedchamber.

6:13 Then he said, Go and see where he is, so that I may send and get him. And news came to him that he was in Dothan.
6:13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

6:14 So he sent there horses and carriages and a great army; and they came by night, circling the town.
6:14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

6:15 Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¼öÁ¾µå´Â ÀÚ°¡ ÀÏÂî±â ÀϾ¼­ ³ª°¡ º¸´Ï ±º»ç¿Í ¸»°ú º´°Å°¡ ¼ºÀ» ¿¡¿ö½Õ´ÂÁö¶ó ±× »çȯÀÌ ¿¤¸®»ç¿¡°Ô °íÇ쵂 ¾Æ¾Æ, ³» ÁÖ¿© ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾îÂîÇϸ®À̱î
6:15 Now the servant of the man of God, having got up early and gone out, saw an army with horses and carriages of war all round the town. And the servant said to him, O my master, what are we to do?
6:15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

6:16 ´ë´äÇ쵂 µÎ·Á¿öÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó ¿ì¸®¿Í ÇÔ²² ÇÑ ÀÚ°¡ Àú¿Í ÇÔ²² ÇÑ ÀÚº¸´Ù ¸¹À¸´Ï¶ó ÇÏ°í
6:16 And he said in answer, Have no fear; those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

6:17 Then Elisha made a prayer to the Lord, saying, Lord, let his eyes be open so that he may see. And the Lord made the young man's eyes open; and he saw that all the mountain was full of horses and carriages of fire round Elisha.
6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray you, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

6:18 Now when the Aramaeans came down to Elisha, he made a prayer to the Lord saying, Lord, make this people blind. And he made them blind at Elisha's request.
6:18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Strike this people, I pray you, with blindness. And he stroke them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

6:19 And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, and this is not the town: come after me so that I may take you to the man you are searching for. And he took them to Samaria.
6:19 And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom all of you seek. But he led them to Samaria.

6:20 And when they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, Lord, let the eyes of these men be open so that they may see. And the Lord made their eyes open, and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria.
6:20 And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

6:21 And the king of Israel, when he saw them, said to Elisha, My father, am I to put them to the sword?
6:21 And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I strike them? shall I strike them?

6:22 ´ë´äÇÏµÇ Ä¡Áö ¸¶¼Ò¼­ Ä®°ú È°·Î »ç·ÎÀâÀº ÀÚÀÎµé ¾îÂî Ä¡¸®ÀÌ±î ¶±°ú ¹°À» ±× ¾Õ¿¡ µÎ¾î ¸Ô°í ¸¶½Ã°Ô ÇÏ°í ±× ÁÖÀο¡°Ô·Î µ¹·Áº¸³»¼Ò¼­
6:22 But he said in answer, You are not to put them to death; have you any right to put to death those whom you have not taken prisoner with your sword and your bow? put bread and water before them, so that they may have food and drink and go to their master.
6:22 And he answered, You shall not strike them: would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.

6:23 So he made ready a great feast for them, and when they had had food and drink, he sent them away and they went back to their master. And no more bands of Aramaeans came into the land of Israel.
6:23 And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

6:24 ¡Û ÀÌÈÄ¿¡ ¾Æ¶÷ ¿Õ º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ ±× ¿Â ±º´ë¸¦ ¸ð¾Æ ¿Ã¶ó¿Í¼­ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¸¦ ¿¡¿ö½Î´Ï
6:24 Now after this, Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got together all his army and went up to make an attack on Samaria, shutting the town in on all sides with his forces.
6:24 And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.

6:25 ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¸¦ ¿¡¿ö½Î¹Ç·Î ¼ºÁßÀÌ Å©°Ô ÁÖ·Á¼­ ³ª±Í ¸Ó¸® Çϳª¿¡ Àº ÆÈ½Ê ¼¼°ÖÀÌ¿ä ÇÕºÐÅ »çºÐ ÀÏ °©¿¡ Àº ´Ù¼¸ ¼¼°ÖÀ̶ó
6:25 And they became very short of food in Samaria; for they kept it shut in till the price of an ass's head was eighty shekels of silver, and a small measure of doves' droppings was five shekels of silver.
6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

6:26 And when the king of Israel was going by on the wall, a woman came crying out to him, and said, Help! my lord king.
6:26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.

6:27 ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³Ê¸¦ µ½Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ½Ã¸é ³»°¡ ¹«¾ùÀ¸·Î ³Ê¸¦ µµ¿ì·ª ŸÀÛ ¸¶´çÀ¸·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä Æ÷µµÁÖ Æ²·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä
6:27 And he said, If the Lord does not give you help, where am I to get help for you? from the grain-floor or the grape-crusher?
6:27 And he said, If the LORD do not help you, whence shall I help you? out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?

6:28 ¶Ç °¡·ÎµÇ ¹«½¼ ÀÏÀÌ³Ä ¿©ÀÎÀÌ ´ë´äÇ쵂 ÀÌ ¿©ÀÎÀÌ ³»°Ô À̸£±â¸¦ ³× ¾ÆµéÀ» ³»¶ó ¿ì¸®°¡ ¿À´Ã³¯ ¸Ô°í ³»ÀÏÀº ³» ¾ÆµéÀ» ¸ÔÀÚ ÇϸÅ
6:28 And the king said to her, What is troubling you? And she said in answer, This woman said to me, Give your son to be our food today, and we will have my son tomorrow.
6:28 And the king said unto her, What disturbs you? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give your son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son tomorrow.

6:29 So, boiling my son, we had a meal of him; and on the day after I said to her, Now give your son for our food; but she has put her son in a secret place.
6:29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give your son, that we may eat him: and she has hid her son.

6:30 Then the king, hearing what the woman said, took his robes in his hands, violently parting them; and, while he was walking on the wall, the people, looking, saw that under his robe he had haircloth on his flesh.
6:30 And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

6:31 ¿ÕÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ »ç¹åÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿¤¸®»çÀÇ ¸Ó¸®°¡ ¿À´Ã³¯ ±× ¸ö¿¡ ºÙ¾î ÀÖÀ¸¸é Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ³»°Ô ¹ú À§¿¡ ¹úÀ» ³»¸®½ÇÁö·Î´Ù Çϴ϶ó
6:31 Then he said, May God's punishment come on me if Elisha, the son of Shaphat, keeps his head on his body after this day.
6:31 Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

6:32 But Elisha was in his house, and the responsible men were seated there with him; and before the king got there, Elisha said to those who were with him, Do you see how this cruel and violent man has sent to take away my life?
6:32 But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See all of you how this son of a murderer has sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?

6:33 While he was still talking to them, the king came down and said, This evil is from the Lord; why am I to go on waiting any longer for the Lord?
6:33 And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer?

7:1 Then Elisha said, Give ear to the word of the Lord: the Lord says, Tomorrow, about this time, a measure of good meal will be offered for the price of a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the market-place of Samaria.
7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear all of you the word of the LORD; Thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

7:2 Then the captain whose arm was supporting the king said to the man of God, Even if the Lord made windows in heaven, would such a thing be possible? And he said, Your eyes will see it, but you will not have a taste of the food.
7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with yours eyes, but shall not eat thereof.

7:3 ¡Û ¼º¹® ¾î±Í¿¡ ¹®µÕÀÌ ³× »ç¶÷ÀÌ ÀÖ´õ´Ï ¼­·Î ¸»Ç쵂 ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾îÂîÇÏ¿© ¿©±â ¾É¾Æ¼­ Áױ⸦ ±â´Ù¸®·ª
7:3 Now there were four lepers seated at the doorway into the town: and they said to one another, Why are we waiting here for death?
7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

7:4 ¿ì¸®°¡ ¼º¿¡ µé¾î°¡ÀÚ°í ÇÒÁö¶óµµ ¼ºÁßÀº ÁÖ¸®´Ï ¿ì¸®°¡ °Å±â¼­ Á×À» °ÍÀÌ¿ä ¿©±â ¾É¾Æ À־ Á×À»Áö¶ó ±×·±Áï ¿ì¸®°¡ °¡¼­ ¾Æ¶÷ ±º´ë¿¡°Ô Ç׺¹ÇÏÀÚ ÀúÈñ°¡ ¿ì¸®¸¦ »ì·Á µÎ¸é »ì·Á´Ï¿Í ¿ì¸®¸¦ Á×À̸é Á×À» µû¸§À̶ó ÇÏ°í
7:4 If we say, We will go into the town, there is no food in the town, and we will come to our end there; and if we go on waiting here, death will come to us. Come then, let us give ourselves up to the army of Aram: if they let us go on living, then life will be ours; and if they put us to death, then death will be ours.
7:4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

7:5 So in the half light they got up to go to the tents of Aram; but when they came to the outer line of tents, there was no one there.
7:5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.

7:6 For the Lord had made the sound of carriages and horses, and the noise of a great army, come to the ears of the Aramaeans, so that they said to one another, Truly, the king of Israel has got the kings of the Hittites and of the Egyptians for a price to make an attack on us.
7:6 For the LORD had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

7:7 Ȳȥ¿¡ ÀϾ¼­ µµ¸ÁÇ쵂 ±× À帷°ú ¸»°ú ³ª±Í¸¦ ¹ö¸®°í ÁøÀ» ±×´ë·Î µÎ°í ¸ñ¼ûÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© µµ¸ÁÇÏ¿´À½À̶ó
7:7 So they got up and went in flight, in the half light, without their tents or their horses or their asses or any of their goods; they went in flight, fearing for their lives.
7:7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

7:8 And when those lepers came to the outer line of tents, they went into one tent, and had food and drink, and took from it silver and gold and clothing, which they put in a secret place; then they came back and went into another tent from which they took more goods, which they put away in a secret place.
7:8 And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.

7:9 Then they said to one another, We are not doing right. Today is a day of good news, and we say nothing: if we go on waiting here till the morning, punishment will come to us. So let us go and give the news to those of the king's house.
7:9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.

7:10 µåµð¾î °¡¼­ ¼º ¹®Áö±â¸¦ ºÒ·¯ °íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾Æ¶÷ Áø¿¡ À̸£·¯ º¸´Ï °Å±â ÇÑ »ç¶÷µµ ¾ø°í »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¼Ò¸®µµ ¾ø°í ¿ÀÁ÷ ¸»°ú ³ª±Í¸¸ ¸Å¿© ÀÖ°í À帷µéÀÌ ±×´ë·Î ÀÖ´õÀÌ´Ù
7:10 So they came in, and, crying out to the door-keepers of the town, they gave them the news, saying, We came to the tents of the Aramaeans, and there was no one there and no voice of man, only the horses and the asses in their places, and the tents as they were.
7:10 So they came and called unto the gate keeper of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.

7:11 Then the door-keepers, crying out, gave the news to those inside the king's house.
7:11 And he called the porters; and they told it to the king's house within.

7:12 ¿ÕÀÌ ¹ã¿¡ ÀϾ ±× ½Åº¹µé¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÇàÇÑ °ÍÀ» ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ¾Ë°Ô Çϳë´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÁÖ¸° °ÍÀ» ¾Æ´Â °í·Î ±× ÁøÀ» ¶°³ª¼­ µé¿¡ ¸Åº¹ÇÏ°í ½º½º·Î À̸£±â¸¦ ÀúÈñµéÀÌ ¼º¿¡¼­ ³ª¿À°Åµç ¿ì¸®°¡ »ç·ÎÀâ°í ¼º¿¡ µé¾î°¡°Ú´Ù ÇÑ °ÍÀ̴϶ó
7:12 Then the king got up in the night and said to his servants, This is my idea of what the Aramaeans have done to us. They have knowledge that we are without food; and so they have gone out of their tents, and are waiting secretly in the open country, saying, When they come out of the town, we will take them living and get into the town.
7:12 And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.

7:13 ±× ½Åº¹ Áß Çϳª°¡ ´ë´äÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ûÄÁ´ë ¾ÆÁ÷ ¼ºÁß¿¡ ³²¾Æ ÀÖ´Â ¸» ´Ù¼¸ ÇÊÀ» ÃëÇÏ°í »ç¶÷À» º¸³»¾î Á¤Å½ÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ­ ÀÌ ¸»µéÀÌ ¼ºÁß¿¡ ³²¾Æ ÀÖ´Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Â ¹«¸® °ð ¸ê¸ÁÇÑ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Â ¹«¸®¿Í °°À¸´ÏÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ°í
7:13 And one of his servants said in answer, Send men and let them take five of the horses which we still have in the town; if they keep their lives they will be the same as those of Israel who are still living here; if they come to their death they will be the same as all those of Israel who have gone to destruction: let us send and see.
7:13 And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray you, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.

7:14 So they took two horsemen; and the king sent them after the army of the Aramaeans, saying, Go and see.
7:14 They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.

7:15 ÀúÈñ°¡ ±× µÚ¸¦ µû¶ó ¿ä´Ü¿¡ À̸¥Áï ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±ÞÈ÷ µµ¸ÁÇÏ´À¶ó°í ¹ö¸° ÀǺ¹°ú ±º¹°ÀÌ ±æ¿¡ °¡µæÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó »çÀÚ°¡ µ¹¾Æ¿Í¼­ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô °íÇϸÅ
7:15 And they went after them as far as Jordan; and all the road was covered with clothing and vessels dropped by the Aramaeans in their flight. So those who were sent went back and gave the news to the king.
7:15 And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.

7:16 ¹é¼ºµéÀÌ ³ª°¡¼­ ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÇ ÁøÀ» ³ë·«ÇÑÁö¶ó ÀÌ¿¡ °í¿î °¡·ç ÇÑ ½º¾Æ¿¡ ÇÑ ¼¼°ÖÀÌ µÇ°í º¸¸® µÎ ½º¾Æ¿¡ ÇÑ ¼¼°ÖÀÌ µÇ´Ï ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸°ú °°ÀÌ µÇ¾ú°í
7:16 Then the people went out and took the goods from the tents of the Aramaeans. So a measure of good meal was to be had for the price of a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, as the Lord had said.
7:16 And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.

7:17 ¿ÕÀÌ ±× ¼Õ¿¡ ÀÇÁöÇÏ¿´´ø ±× Àå°üÀ» ¼¼¿ö ¼º¹®À» ÁöÅ°°Ô ÇÏ¿´´õ´Ï ¹é¼ºÀÌ ¼º¹®¿¡¼­ Àú¸¦ ¹âÀ¸¸Å Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¸»´ë·Î Á×¾úÀ¸´Ï °ð ¿ÕÀÌ ³»·Á¿ÔÀ» ¶§¿¡ ±×ÀÇ ÇÑ ¸»´ë·Î¶ó
7:17 And the king gave authority to that captain, on whose arm he was supported, to have control over the doorway into the town; but he was crushed to death there under the feet of the people, as the man of God had said when the king went down to him.
7:17 And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.

7:18 ÀÏÂî±â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô °íÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ³»ÀÏ À̸¾¶§¿¡ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ ¼º¹®¿¡¼­ º¸¸® µÎ ½º¾Æ¿¡ ÇÑ ¼¼°ÖÀ» ÇÏ°í °í¿î °¡·ç ÇÑ ½º¾Æ¿¡ ÇÑ ¼¼°ÖÀ» Çϸ®¶ó ÇÑÁï
7:18 So the words of the man of God came true, which he said to the king: Two measures of barley will be offered for the price of a shekel and a measure of good meal for a shekel, tomorrow about this time in the market-place of Samaria.
7:18 And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:

7:19 And that captain said to the man of God, Even if the Lord made windows in heaven, would such a thing be possible? And he said to him, Your eyes will see it, but you will not have a taste of the food.
7:19 And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with yours eyes, but shall not eat thereof.

7:20 And such was his fate; for he was crushed to death under the feet of the people, in the doorway into the town.

8:1 ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ ÀÌÀü¿¡ ¾ÆµéÀ» ´Ù½Ã »ì·ÁÁØ ¿©Àο¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³Ê´Â ÀϾ¼­ ³× ±Ç¼Ó°ú ÇÔ²² °ÅÇÒ ¸¸ÇÑ °÷À¸·Î °¡¼­ °ÅÇÏ¶ó ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±â±ÙÀ» ¸íÇϼÌÀ¸´Ï ±×´ë·Î ÀÌ ¶¥¿¡ Ä¥ ³â µ¿¾È ÀÓÇϸ®¶ó
8:1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had given back to life, Go now, with all the people of your house, and get a living-place for yourselves wherever you are able; for by the word of the Lord, there will be great need of food in the land; and this will go on for seven years.
8:1 Then spoke Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go you and yours household, and sojourn where ever you can sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

8:2 So the woman got up and did as the man of God said; and she and the people of her house were living in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
8:2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

8:3 Ä¥ ³âÀÌ ´Ù ÇϸŠ¿©ÀÎÀÌ ºí·¹¼Â »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¶¥¿¡¼­ µ¹¾Æ¿Í¼­ ÀÚ±â Áý°ú ÀüÅ並 À§ÇÏ¿© È£¼ÒÇÏ·Á ÇÏ¿© ¿Õ¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ°¬´õ¶ó
8:3 And when the seven years were ended, the woman came back from the land of the Philistines and went to the king with a request for her house and her land.
8:3 And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.

8:4 ¶§¿¡ ¿ÕÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÇ »çȯ °ÔÇÏ½Ã¿Í ¼­·Î ¸»¾¸ÇÏ¸ç °¡·ÎµÇ ³Ê´Â ¿¤¸®»çÀÇ ÇàÇÑ ¸ðµç Å« ÀÏÀ» ³»°Ô °íÇ϶ó ÇÏ´Ï
8:4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Now, give me an account of all the great things Elisha has done.
8:4 And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray you, all the great things that Elisha has done.

8:5 °ÔÇϽ𡠰𠿤¸®»ç°¡ Á×Àº ÀÚ¸¦ ´Ù½Ã »ì¸° ÀÏÀ» ¿Õ¿¡°Ô À̾߱âÇÒ ¶§¿¡ ±× ´Ù½Ã »ì¸° ¾ÆÀÌÀÇ ¾î¹Ì°¡ ÀÚ±â Áý°ú ÀüÅ並 À§ÇÏ¿© ¿Õ¿¡°Ô È£¼ÒÇÏ´ÂÁö¶ó °ÔÇϽð¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³» ÁÖ ¿ÕÀÌ¿© ÀÌ´Â ±× ¿©ÀÎÀÌ¿ä Àú´Â ±× ¾ÆµéÀÌ´Ï °ð ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ ´Ù½Ã »ì¸° ÀÚ´ÏÀÌ´Ù
8:5 And while he was giving the king the story of how Elisha had given life to the dead, the woman whose son had come back to life came to the king with a request for her house and her land. And Gehazi said, My lord king, this is the woman and this is her son, whose life Elisha gave back to him.
8:5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

8:6 ¿ÕÀÌ ±× ¿©Àο¡°Ô ¹°À¸¸Å ¿©ÀÎÀÌ °íÇÑÁö¶ó ¿ÕÀÌ Àú¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ÇÑ °ü¸®¸¦ ÀÓ¸íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¹«¸© ÀÌ ¿©Àο¡°Ô ¼ÓÇÑ °Í°ú ÀÌ ¶¥¿¡¼­ ¶°³¯ ¶§ºÎÅÍ ÀÌÁ¦±îÁö ±× ¹çÀÇ ¼ÒÃâÀ» ´Ù µ¹·Á ÁÖ¶ó ÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó
8:6 And in answer to the king's questions, the woman gave him all the story. So the king gave orders to one of his unsexed servants, saying, Give her back all her property, and all the produce of her fields from the day when she went away from the land up till now.
8:6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.

8:7 ¡Û ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ ´Ù¸Þ¼½¿¡ °¬À» ¶§¿¡ ¾Æ¶÷ ¿Õ º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ º´µé¾ú´õ´Ï ȤÀÌ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô °íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¿©±â À̸£·¶³ªÀÌ´Ù
8:7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, was ill; and they said to him, The man of God has come.
8:7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God has come here.

8:8 ¿ÕÀÌ Çϻ翤¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³Ê´Â ¼Õ¿¡ ¿¹¹°À» °¡Áö°í °¡¼­ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷À» ¸Â°í Àú·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ¿©È£¿Í²² ³ªÀÇ ÀÌ º´ÀÌ ³´°Ú³ª ¹°À¸¶ó
8:8 Then the king said to Hazael, Take an offering with you, and go to see the man of God and get directions from the Lord by him, saying, Am I going to get better from my disease?
8:8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in yours hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

8:9 Çϻ翤ÀÌ µåµð¾î ¸ÂÀ¸·¯ °¥»õ ´Ù¸Þ¼½ ¸ðµç ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¹°Ç°À¸·Î ¿¹¹°À» »ï¾Æ°¡Áö°í ¾à´ë »ç½Ê¿¡ ½Æ°í ³ª¾Æ°¡¼­ ÀúÀÇ ¾Õ¿¡ ¼­¼­ °¡·ÎµÇ ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¾Æµé ¾Æ¶÷ ¿Õ º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ ³ª¸¦ ´ç½Å¿¡°Ô º¸³»¾î °¡·ÎµÇ ³ªÀÇ ÀÌ º´ÀÌ ³´°Ú³ªÀ̱î ÇÏ´õÀÌ´Ù
8:9 So Hazael went to see him, taking with him forty camels with offerings on their backs of every sort of good thing from Damascus; and when he came before him, he said, Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Will I get better from this disease?
8:9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

8:10 ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³Ê´Â °¡¼­ Àú¿¡°Ô °íÇϱ⸦ ¿ÕÀÌ Á¤³ç ³ªÀ¸¸®¶ó Ç϶ó ±×·¯³ª ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ Àú°¡ Á¤³ç Á×À¸¸®¶ó°í ³»°Ô ¾Ë°Ô Çϼ̴À´Ï¶ó ÇÏ°í
8:10 And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, You will certainly get better; but the Lord has made it clear to me that only death is before him.
8:10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, You may certainly recover: nevertheless the LORD has showed me that he shall surely die.

8:11 And he kept his eyes fixed on him till he was shamed, and the man of God was overcome with weeping.
8:11 And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.

8:12 Çϻ翤ÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ³» ÁÖ¿© ¾îÂîÇÏ¿© ¿ì½Ã³ªÀÌ±î ´ë´äÇ쵂 ³×°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õ¿¡°Ô ÇàÇÒ ¸ðµç ¾ÇÀ» ³»°¡ ¾ÍÀ̶ó ³×°¡ ÀúÈñ ¼º¿¡ ºÒÀ» ³õÀ¸¸ç ÀåÁ¤À» Ä®·Î Á×ÀÌ¸ç ¾î¸° ¾ÆÀ̸¦ ¸Þ¾îÄ¡¸ç ¾ÆÀÌ ¹ê ºÎ³à¸¦ °¡¸£¸®¶ó
8:12 And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? Then he said in answer, Because I see the evil which you will do to the children of Israel: burning down their strong towns, putting their young men to death with the sword, smashing their little ones against the stones, and cutting open the women who are with child.
8:12 And Hazael said, Why weeps my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that you will do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds will you set on fire, and their young men will you slay with the sword, and will dash their children, and rip up their women with child.

8:13 Çϻ翤ÀÌ °¡·ÎµÇ ´ç½ÅÀÇ °³ °°Àº Á¾ÀÌ ¹«¾ùÀÌ°ü´ë ÀÌ·± Å« ÀÏÀ» ÇàÇÏ¿À¸®ÀÌ±î ¿¤¸®»ç°¡ ´ë´äÇ쵂 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³×°¡ ¾Æ¶÷ ¿ÕÀÌ µÉ °ÍÀ» ³»°Ô ¾Ë°Ô Çϼ̴À´Ï¶ó
8:13 And Hazael said, How is it possible that your servant, who is only a dog, will do this great thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has made it clear to me that you will be king over Aram.
8:13 And Hazael said, But what, is your servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD has showed me that you shall be king over Syria.

8:14 Then he went away from Elisha and came in to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And his answer was, He said that you would certainly get well.
8:14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to you? And he answered, He told me that you should surely recover.

8:15 Now on the day after, Hazael took the bed-cover, and making it wet with water, put it over Ben-hadad's face, causing his death: and Hazael became king in his place.
8:15 And it came to pass on the next day, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his position.

8:16 In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king.

8:17 He was thirty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for eight years.

8:18 He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the family of Ahab did: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
8:18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.

8:19 But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on Judah, because of David his servant, to whom he had given his word that he would have a light for ever.
8:19 Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.

8:20 In his time, Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, and took a king for themselves.
8:20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

8:21 Then Joram went over to Zair, with all his war-carriages; ... made an attack by night on the Edomites, whose forces were all round him, ... the captains of the war-carriages; and the people went in flight to their tents.
8:21 So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and stroke the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.

8:22 So Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah to this day. And at the same time, Libnah made itself free.
8:22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.

8:23 Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah?

8:24 And Joram went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth with his fathers in the town of David: and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
8:24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his position.

8:26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri, king of Israel.
8:26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

8:27 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, and did evil in the eyes of the Lord as the family of Ahab did, for he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab.
8:27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.

8:28 He went with Joram, the son of Ahab, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the Aramaeans.
8:28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

8:29 So King Joram went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which the bowmen had given him at Ramah, when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram, the son of Ahab, in Jezreel, because he was ill.
8:29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
