1:1 아합이 죽은 후에 모압이 이스라엘을 배반하였더라
1:1 After the death of Ahab, Moab made itself free from the authority of Israel.
1:1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
1:2 아하시야가 사마리아에 있는 그 다락 난간에서 떨어져 병들매 사자를 보내며
저희더러 이르되 가서 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 이 병이 낫겠나 물어 보라 하니라
1:2 Now Ahaziah had a fall from the window of his room in Samaria, and was ill. And
he sent men, and said to them, Put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, about
the outcome of my disease, to see if I will get well or not.
1:2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was
in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire
of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.
1:3 여호와의 사자가 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 이르시되 너는 일어나 올라가서 사마리아
왕의 사자를 만나서 저에게 이르기를 이스라엘에 하나님이 없어서 너희가 에그론의
신 바알세붑에게 물으러 가느냐
1:3 But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go now, and, meeting the
men sent by the king of Samaria, say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel,
that you are going to get directions from Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?
1:3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to
meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because
there is not a God in Israel, that all of you go to enquire of Baalzebub the
god of Ekron?
1:4 그러므로 여호와의 말씀이 네가 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할지라 네가
반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하라 엘리야가 이에 가니라
1:4 Give ear then to the words of the Lord: You will never again get down from the bed
on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. Then Elijah
went away.
1:4 Now therefore thus says the LORD, You shall not come down from that bed
on which you are gone up, but shall surely die. And Elijah departed.
1:5 ○ 사자들이 왕에게 돌아오니 왕이 이르되 너희는 어찌하여 돌아왔느냐
1:5 And the men he had sent came back to the king; and he said to them, Why have you
come back?
1:5 And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why
are all of you now turned back?
1:6 저희가 고하되 한 사람이 올라와서 우리를 만나 이르되 너희는 너희를 보낸
왕에게로 돌아가서 저에게 고하기를 여호와의 말씀이 이스라엘에 하나님이 없어서
네가 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으려고 보내느냐 그러므로 네가 올라간 침상에서
내려오지 못할지라 네가 반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하라 하더이다
1:6 And they said to him, On our way we had a meeting with a man who said, Go back to
the king who sent you and say to him, The Lord says, Is it because there is no God
in Israel that you send to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? For this
reason, you will not come down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death
will certainly come to you.
1:6 And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto
us, Go, return unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus says the
LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that you send to enquire
of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore you shall not come down from that bed
on which you are gone up, but shall surely die.
1:7 왕이 저희에게 이르되 올라와서 너희를 만나 이 말을 너희에게 고한 그 사람의
모양이 어떠하더냐
1:7 And he said to them, What sort of a man was it who came and said these words to
you?
1:7 And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet
you, and told you these words?
1:8 저희가 대답하되 그는 털이 많은 사람인데 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠었더이다 왕이
가로되 그는 디셉 사람 엘리야로다
1:8 And they said in answer, He was a man clothed in a coat of hair, with a leather
band about his body. Then he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
1:8 And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of
leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
1:9 ○ 이에 오십부장과 그 오십 인을 엘리야에게로 보내매 저가 엘리야에게로
올라가서 본즉 산 꼭대기에 앉았는지라 저가 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여
왕의 말씀이 내려오라 하셨나이다
1:9 Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up
to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God,
the king has said, Come down.
1:9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he
went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spoke unto
him, You man of God, the king has said, Come down.
1:10 엘리야가 오십부장에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 만일 하나님의 사람이면 불이
하늘에서 내려와서 너와 너의 오십 인을 사를지로다 하매 불이 곧 하늘에서 내려와서
저와 그 오십 인을 살랐더라
1:10 And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire
come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then
fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men.
1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man
of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume you and your fifty.
And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
1:11 왕이 다시 다른 오십부장과 그 오십 인을 엘리야에게로 보내니 저가 엘리야에게
일러 가로되 하나님의 사람이여 왕의 말씀이 속히 내려오라 하셨나이다
1:11 Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah,
O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly.
1:11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty.
And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus has the king said, Come
down quickly.
1:12 엘리야가 저희에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 만일 하나님의 사람이면 불이 하늘에서
내려와서 너와 너의 오십 인을 사를지로다 하매 하나님의 불이 곧 하늘에서 내려와서
저와 그 오십 인을 살랐더라
1:12 And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven
on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down
from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men.
1:12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire
come down from heaven, and consume you and your fifty. And the fire of God came
down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
1:13 왕이 세 번째 오십부장과 그 오십 인을 보낸지라 세째 오십부장이 올라가서
엘리야의 앞에 이르러 꿇어 엎드려 간구하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이여 원컨대 나의
생명과 당신의 종인 이 오십 인의 생명을 당신은 귀히 보소서
1:13 Then he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men; and the third captain
of fifty went up, and falling on his knees before Elijah, requesting mercy of him,
said, O man of God, let my life and the life of these your fifty servants be of
value to you.
1:13 And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the
third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah,
and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray you, let my life,
and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.
1:14 불이 하늘에서 내려와서 전번의 오십부장 둘과 그 오십 인들을 살랐거니와
나의 생명을 당신은 귀히 보소서 하매
1:14 For fire came down from heaven and put an end to the first two captains of fifty
and their fifties; but now let my life be of value in your eyes.
1:14 Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains
of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious
in your sight.
1:15 여호와의 사자가 엘리야에게 이르되 너는 저를 두려워 말고 함께 내려가라
하신지라 엘리야가 곧 일어나 저와 함께 내려와서 왕에게 이르러
1:15 Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, Go down with him; have no fear of him.
So he got up and went down with him to the king.
1:15 And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not
afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.
1:16 고하되 여호와의 말씀이 네가 사자를 보내어 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으려
하니 이스라엘에 그 말을 물을 만한 하나님이 없음이냐 그러므로 네가 그 올라간 침상에서
내려오지 못할지라 네가 반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하니라
1:16 And he said to him, This is the word of the Lord: Because you sent men to put a
question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, for this reason you will never again get
down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to
you.
1:16 And he said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Forasmuch as you have sent
messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there
is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore you shall not come down
off that bed on which you are gone up, but shall surely die.
1:17 ○ 왕이 엘리야의 전한 여호와의 말씀대로 죽고 저가 아들이 없으므로 여호람이
대신하여 왕이 되니 유다 왕 여호사밧의 아들 여호람의 제 이 년이었더라
1:17 So death came to him, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah. And Jehoram became
king in his place in the second year of the rule of Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat,
king of Judah; because he had no son.
1:17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken.
And Jehoram reigned in his position in the second year of Jehoram the son of
Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
1:18 아하시야의 남은 사적은 모두 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
1:18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah, are they not recorded in the book of the history
of the kings of Israel?
1:18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written
in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
2:1 여호와께서 회리바람으로 엘리야를 하늘에 올리고자 하실 때에 엘리야가 엘리사로
더불어 길갈에서 나가더니
2:1 Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a great wind, Elijah
went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2:1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by
a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2:2 엘리야가 엘리사에게 이르되 청컨대 너는 여기 머물라 여호와께서 나를 벧엘로
보내시느니라 엘리사가 가로되 여호와의 사심과 당신의 혼의 삶을 가리켜 맹세하노니
내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하겠나이다 이에 두 사람이 벧엘로 내려가니
2:2 And Elijah said to Elisha, Come no farther for the Lord has sent me to Beth-el.
But Elisha said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be
parted from you. So they went down to Beth-el.
2:2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has
sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD lives, and as your
soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel.
2:3 벧엘에 있는 선지자의 생도들이 엘리사에게로 나아와 이르되 여호와께서 오늘날
당신의 선생을 당신의 머리 위로 취하실 줄을 아나이까 가로되 나도 아노니 너희는
잠잠하라
2:3 And at Beth-el the sons of the prophets came out to Elisha and said, Has it been
made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over you
today? And he said, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.
2:3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha,
and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your
head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace.
2:4 엘리야가 저에게 이르되 엘리사야 청컨대 너는 여기 머물라 여호와께서 나를
여리고로 보내시느니라 엘리사가 가로되 여호와의 사심과 당신의 혼의 삶을 가리켜
맹세하노니 내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하겠나이다 하니라 저희가 여리고에 이르매
2:4 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. But
he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted
from you. So they went on to Jericho.
2:4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD
has sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives,
I will not leave you. So they came to Jericho.
2:5 여리고에 있는 선지자의 생도들이 엘리사에게 나아와 이르되 여호와께서 오늘날
당신의 선생을 당신의 머리 위로 취하실 줄을 아나이까 엘리사가 가로되 나도 아노니
너희는 잠잠하라
2:5 And at Jericho the sons of the prophets came up to Elisha and said to him, Has it
been made clear to you that the Lord is going to take away your master from over
you today? And he said in answer, Yes, I have knowledge of it: say no more.
2:5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and
said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head
to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace.
2:6 엘리야가 또 엘리사에게 이르되 청컨대 너는 여기 머물라 여호와께서 나를
요단으로 보내시느니라 저가 가로되 여호와의 사심과 당신의 혼의 삶을 가리켜 맹세하노니
내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하겠나이다 이에 두 사람이 행하니라
2:6 Then Elijah said to him, Come no farther, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. But
he said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not be parted
from you. So they went on together.
2:6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray you, here; for the LORD has sent
me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will
not leave you. And they two went on.
2:7 선지자의 생도 오십 인이 가서 멀리 서서 바라보매 그 두 사람이 요단 가에
섰더니
2:7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went out and took their places facing
them a long way off, while the two of them were by the edge of Jordan.
2:7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view far
off: and they two stood by Jordan.
2:8 엘리야가 겉옷을 취하여 말아 물을 치매 물이 이리 저리 갈라지고 두 사람이
육지 위로 건너더라
2:8 Then Elijah took off his robe, and, rolling it up, gave the water a blow with it,
and the waters were parted, flowing back this way and that, so that they went over
on dry land.
2:8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and stroke the waters,
and they were divided here and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
2:9 건너매 엘리야가 엘리사에게 이르되 나를 네게서 취하시기 전에 내가 네게
어떻게 할 것을 구하라 엘리사가 가로되 당신의 영감이 갑절이나 내게 있기를 구하나이다
2:9 And when they had come to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, Say what you would
have me do for you before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, Be pleased to let
a special measure of your spirit be on me.
2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto
Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away from you. And Elisha
said, I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.
2:10 가로되 네가 어려운 일을 구하는도다 그러나 나를 네게서 취하시는 것을
네가 보면 그 일이 네게 이루려니와 그렇지 않으면 이루지 아니하리라 하고
2:10 And he said, You have made a hard request: still, if you see me when I am taken
from you, you will get your desire; but if not, it will not be so.
2:10 And he said, You have asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if you see me
when I am taken from you, it shall be so unto you; but if not, it shall not be so.
2:11 두 사람이 행하며 말하더니 홀연히 불수레와 불말들이 두 사람을 격하고
엘리야가 회리바람을 타고 승천하더라
2:11 And while they went on their way, going on talking together, suddenly there were
carriages and horses of fire separating them from one another and Elijah went up
to heaven in a great wind.
2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold,
there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder;
and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
2:12 ○ 엘리사가 보고 소리 지르되 내 아버지여 내 아버지여 이스라엘의 병거와
그 마병이여 하더니 다시 보이지 아니하는지라 이에 엘리사가 자기의 옷을 잡아 둘에
찢고
2:12 And when Elisha saw it he gave a cry, My father, my father, the carriages of Israel
and its horsemen! And he saw him no longer; and he was full of grief.
2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of
Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of
his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
2:13 엘리야의 몸에서 떨어진 겉옷을 주워 가지고 돌아와서 요단 언덕에 서서
2:13 Then he took up Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and went back till
he came to the edge of Jordan.
2:13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back,
and stood by the bank of Jordan;
2:14 엘리야의 몸에서 떨어진 그 겉옷을 가지고 물을 치며 가로되 엘리야의 하나님
여호와는 어디 계시니이까 하고 저도 물을 치매 물이 이리 저리 갈라지고 엘리사가
건너니라
2:14 And he took Elijah's robe, which had been dropped from him, and giving the water
a blow with it, said, Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah? and at his blow the
waters were parted this way and that; and Elisha went over.
2:14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and stroke the
waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten
the waters, they parted here and thither: and Elisha went over.
2:15 ○ 맞은편 여리고에 있는 선지자의 생도들이 저를 보며 말하기를 엘리야의
영감이 엘리사의 위에 머물렀다 하고 가서 저를 영접하여 그 앞에서 땅에 엎드리고
2:15 And when the sons of the prophets who were facing him at Jericho saw him, they said,
The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha. And they came out to him, and went down
on the earth before him.
2:15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw
him, they said, The spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha. And they came to meet
him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
2:16 가로되 당신의 종들에게 용사 오십 인이 있으니 청컨대 저희로 가서 당신의
주를 찾게 하소서 염려컨대 여호와의 신이 저를 들어 가다가 어느 산에나 어느 골짜기에
던지셨을까 하나이다 엘리사가 가로되 보내지 말라 하나
2:16 And they said, Your servants have with us here fifty strong men; be pleased to let
them go in search of Elijah; for it may be that the spirit of the Lord has taken
him up and put him down on some mountain or in some valley. But he said, Do not
send them.
2:16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with your servants fifty
strong men; let them go, we pray you, and seek your master: lest possibly the
Spirit of the LORD has taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into
some valley. And he said, All of you shall not send.
2:17 무리가 저로 부끄러워하도록 강청하매 보내라 한지라 저희가 오십 인을 보내었더니
사흘을 찾되 발견하지 못하고
2:17 But when they kept on requesting him, he was shamed and said, Send, then. So they
sent fifty men; but after searching for three days, they came back without having
seen him.
2:17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent
therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
2:18 엘리사가 여리고에 머무는 중에 무리가 저에게 돌아오니 엘리사가 저희에게
이르되 내가 가지 말라고 너희에게 이르지 아니하였느냐 하였더라
2:18 And they came back to him, while he was still at Jericho; and he said to them, Did
I not say to you, Go not?
2:18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said
unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
2:19 ○ 그 성 사람들이 엘리사에게 고하되 우리 주께서 보시는 바와 같이 이
성읍의 터는 아름다우나 물이 좋지 못하므로 토산이 익지 못하고 떨어지나이다
2:19 Now the men of the town said to Elisha, You see that the position of this town is
good; but the water is bad, causing the young of the cattle to come to birth dead.
2:19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray you, the situation
of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees: but the water is nil, and the ground
barren.
2:20 엘리사가 가로되 새 그릇에 소금을 담아 내게로 가져오라 하매 곧 가져온지라
2:20 So he said, Get me a new vessel, and put salt in it; and they took it to him.
2:20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought
it to him.
2:21 엘리사가 물 근원으로 나아가서 소금을 그 가운데 던지며 가로되 여호와의
말씀이 내가 이 물을 고쳤으니 이로 좇아 다시는 죽음이나 토산이 익지 못하고 떨어짐이
없을지니라 하셨느니라 하니
2:21 Then he went out to the spring from which the water came, and put salt in it, and
said, The Lord says, Now I have made this water sweet; no longer will it be death-giving
or unfertile.
2:21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in
there, and said, Thus says the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall
not be from thence any more death or barren land.
2:22 그 물이 엘리사의 말과 같이 고쳐져서 오늘날에 이르렀더라
2:22 And the water was made sweet again to this day, as Elisha said.
2:22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of
Elisha which he spoke.
2:23 ○ 엘리사가 거기서 벧엘로 올라가더니 길에 행할 때에 젊은 아이들이 성에서
나와서 저를 조롱하여 가로되 대머리여 올라가라 대머리여 올라가라 하는지라
2:23 Then from there he went up to Beth-el; and on his way, some little boys came out
from the town and made sport of him, crying, Go up, old no-hair! go up, old no-hair!
2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the
way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said
unto him, Go up, you bald head; go up, you bald head.
2:24 엘리사가 돌이켜 저희를 보고 여호와의 이름으로 저주하매 곧 수풀에서 암콤
둘이 나와서 아이들 중에 사십 이 명을 찢었더라
2:24 And turning back, he saw them, and put a curse on them in the name of the Lord.
And two she-bears came out of the wood and put forty-two of the children to death.
2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name
of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty
and two children of them.
2:25 엘리사가 거기서부터 갈멜 산으로 가고 거기서 사마리아로 돌아왔더라
2:25 From there he went to Mount Carmel, and came back from there to Samaria.
2:25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned
to Samaria.
3:1 유다 왕 여호사밧의 십 팔 년에 아합의 아들 여호람이 사마리아에서 이스라엘
왕이 되어 십 이 년을 치리하니라
3:1 And Jehoram, the son of Ahab, became king over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth
year of the rule of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; and he was king for twelve years.
3:1 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the
eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.
3:2 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으나 그 부모와 같이 하지는 아니하였으니
이는 저가 그 아비의 만든 바알의 주상을 제하였음이라
3:2 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord; but not like his father and his mother, for
he put away the stone pillar of Baal which his father had made.
3:2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father,
and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
3:3 그러나 저가 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 이스라엘로 범하게 한 그 죄를 따라
행하고 떠나지 아니하였더라
3:3 But still he did the same sins which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel
do; he went on in them.
3:3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which
made Israel to sin; he departed not from it.
3:4 ○ 모압 왕 메사는 양을 치는 자라 새끼 양 십만의 털과 수양 십만의 털을
이스라엘 왕에게 바치더니
3:4 Now Mesha, king of Moab, was a sheep-farmer; and he gave regularly to the king of
Israel the wool from a hundred thousand lambs and a hundred thousand sheep.
3:4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder, and rendered unto the king
of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the
wool.
3:5 아합이 죽은 후에 모압 왕이 이스라엘 왕을 배반한지라
3:5 But when Ahab was dead, the king of Moab got free from the authority of the king

3:5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled
against the king of Israel.
3:6 그 때에 여호람 왕이 사마리아에서 나가서 온 이스라엘을 점고하고
3:6 At that time, King Jehoram went out from Samaria and got all Israel together in
fighting order.
3:6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all
Israel.
3:7 또 가서 유다 왕 여호사밧에게 보내어 이르되 모압 왕이 나를 배반하였으니
당신은 나와 함께 가서 모압을 치시겠느뇨 저가 가로되 내가 올라가리이다 나는 당신과
일반이요 내 백성은 당신의 백성과 일반이요 내 말들도 당신의 말들과 일반이니이다
3:7 And he sent to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab has got free
from my authority: will you go with me to make war on Moab? And he said, I will
go with you: I am as you are, my people as your people, and my horses as your horses.
3:7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king
of Moab has rebelled against me: will you go with me against Moab to battle?
And he said, I will go up: I am as you are, my people as your people, and my
horses as your horses.
3:8 여호람이 가로되 우리가 어느 길로 올라가리이까 저가 대답하되 에돔 광야
길로니이다
3:8 And he said, Which way are we to go? And he said in answer, By the waste land of
Edom.
3:8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through
the wilderness of Edom.
3:9 이스라엘 왕이 유다 왕과 에돔 왕으로 더불어 행하더니 길을 둘러 행한 지 칠
일에 군사와 따라가는 생축을 먹일 물이 없는지라
3:9 So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom by a roundabout
way for seven days: and there was no water for the army or for the beasts they had
with them.
3:9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom:
and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for
the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
3:10 이스라엘 왕이 가로되 슬프다 여호와께서 이 세 왕을 불러 모아 모압의 손에
붙이려 하시는도다
3:10 And the king of Israel said, Here is trouble: for the Lord has got these three kings
together to give them into the hands of Moab.
3:10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD has called these three
kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
3:11 여호사밧이 가로되 우리가 여호와께 물을 만한 여호와의 선지자가 여기 없느냐
이스라엘 왕의 신복 중에 한 사람이 대답하여 가로되 전에 엘리야의 손에 물을 붓던
사밧의 아들 엘리사가 여기 있나이다
3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may
get directions from the Lord? And one of the king of Israel's men said in answer,
Elisha, the son of Shaphat, is here, who was servant to Elijah.
3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that
we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants
answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on
the hands of Elijah.
3:12 여호사밧이 가로되 여호와의 말씀이 저에게 있도다 이에 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧과
에돔 왕으로 더불어 그에게로 내려가니라
3:12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and
Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
3:12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king
of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
3:13 ○ 엘리사가 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 내가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까
당신의 부친의 선지자들과 당신의 모친의 선지자들에게로 가소서 이스라엘 왕이 저에게
이르되 그렇지 아니하니이다 여호와께서 이 세 왕을 불러 모아 모압의 손에 붙이려
하시나이다
3:13 But Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? go to the prophets
of your father and your mother. And the king of Israel said, No; for the Lord has
got these three kings together to give them up into the hands of Moab.
3:13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with you?
get you to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother.
And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD has called these three
kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
3:14 엘리사가 가로되 내가 섬기는 만군의 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니
내가 만일 유다 왕 여호사밧의 낯을 봄이 아니면 당신을 향하지도 아니하고 보지도
아니하였으리이다
3:14 Then Elisha said, By the life of the Lord of armies whose servant I am, if it was
not for the respect I have for Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, I would not give a look
at you, or see you.
3:14 And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely,
were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would
not look toward you, nor see you.
3:15 이제 내게로 거문고 탈 자를 불러오소서 하니라 거문고 타는 자가 거문고를
탈 때에 여호와께서 엘리사를 감동하시니
3:15 But now, get me a player of music, and it will come about that while the man is
playing, the hand of the Lord will come on me and I will give you the word of the
Lord: and they got a player of music, and while the man was playing, the hand of
the Lord was on him.
3:15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel
played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
3:16 저가 가로되 여호와의 말씀이 이 골짜기에 개천을 많이 파라 하셨나이다
3:16 And he said, The Lord says, I will make this valley full of water-holes.
3:16 And he said, Thus says the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.
3:17 여호와께서 이르시기를 너희가 바람도 보지 못하고 비도 보지 못하되 이
골짜기에 물이 가득하여 너희와 너희 육축과 짐승이 마시리라 하셨나이다
3:17 For the Lord says, Though you see no wind or rain, the valley will be full of water,
and you and your armies and your beasts will have drink.
3:17 For thus says the LORD, All of you shall not see wind, neither shall
all of you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that all of
you may drink, both all of you, and your cattle, and your beasts.
3:18 이것은 여호와 보시기에 오히려 작은 일이라 여호와께서 모압 사람도 당신의
손에 붙이시리니
3:18 And this will be only a small thing to the Lord: in addition he will give the Moabites
into your hands.
3:18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver
the Moabites also into your hand.
3:19 당신들이 모든 견고한 성과 모든 아름다운 성을 치고 모든 좋은 나무를 베고
모든 샘을 메우고 돌로 모든 좋은 밭을 헐리이다 하더니
3:19 And you are to put every walled town to destruction, cutting down every good tree,
and stopping up every water-spring, and making all the good land rough with stones.
3:19 And all of you shall strike every fenced city, and every choice city,
and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and ruin every
good piece of land with stones.
3:20 아침에 미쳐 소제 드릴 때에 물이 에돔 편에서부터 흘러와서 그 땅에 가득하였더라
3:20 Now in the morning, about the time when the offering was made, they saw water flowing
from the direction of Edom till the country was full of water.
3:20 And it came to pass in the morning, when the food offering was offered,
that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled
with water.
3:21 ○ 모압 모든 사람이 왕들이 올라와서 자기를 치려 한다 함을 듣고 갑옷
입을 만한 자로부터 그 이상이 다 모여 그 경계에 섰더라
3:21 Now all Moab, hearing that the kings had come to make war against them, got together
all who were able to take up arms and went forward to the edge of the country.
3:21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight
against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward,
and stood in the border.
3:22 아침에 모압 사람이 일찌기 일어나서 해가 물에 비취므로 맞은편 물이 붉어
피와 같음을 보고
3:22 And early in the morning they got up, when the sun was shining on the water, and
they saw the water facing them as red as blood.
3:22 And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water,
and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
3:23 가로되 이는 피라 필연 저 왕들이 싸워 서로 죽인 것이로다 모압 사람들아
이제 노략하러 가자 하고
3:23 Then they said, This is blood: it is clear that destruction has come on the kings;
they have been fighting one another: now come, Moab, let us take their goods.
3:23 And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have
smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.
3:24 이스라엘 진에 이르니 이스라엘 사람이 일어나 모압 사람을 쳐서 그 앞에서
도망하게 하고 그 지경에 들어가며 모압 사람을 치고
3:24 But when they came to the tents of Israel, the Israelites came out and made a violent
attack on the Moabites, so that they went in flight before them; and they went forward
still attacking them;
3:24 And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and
stroke the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting
the Moabites, even in their country.
3:25 그 성읍을 쳐서 헐고 각기 돌을 던져 모든 좋은 밭에 가득하게 하고 모든
샘을 메우고 모든 좋은 나무를 베고 기르하라셋의 돌들은 남기고 물맷군이 두루 다니며
치니라
3:25 Pulling down the towns, covering every good field with stones, stopping up all the
water-springs, and cutting down all the good trees; they went on driving Moab before
them till only in Kir-hareseth were there any Moabites; and the fighting-men went
round the town raining stones on it.
3:25 And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast
every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water,
and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof;
nevertheless the slingers went about it, and stroke it.
3:26 모압 왕이 전세가 극렬하여 당하기 어려움을 보고 칼 찬 군사 칠백을 거느리고
충돌하여 지나서 에돔 왕에게로 가고자 하되 능히 못하고
3:26 And when the king of Moab saw that the fight was going against him, he took with
him seven hundred men armed with swords, with the idea of forcing a way through
to the king of Aram, but they were not able to do so.
3:26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him,
he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto
the king of Edom: but they could not.
3:27 이에 자기 위를 이어 왕이 될 맏아들을 취하여 성 위에서 번제를 드린지라
이스라엘에게 크게 통분함이 임하매 저희가 떠나 각기 고국으로 돌아갔더라
3:27 Then he took his oldest son, who would have been king after him, offering him as
a burned offering on the wall. So there was great wrath against Israel; and they
went away from him, back to their country.
3:27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his position,
and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation
against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
4:1 선지자의 생도의 아내 중에 한 여인이 엘리사에게 부르짖어 가로되 당신의
종 나의 남편이 이미 죽었는데 당신의 종이 여호와를 경외한 줄은 당신이 아시는
바니이다 이제 채주가 이르러 나의 두 아이를 취하여 그 종을 삼고자 하나이다
4:1 Now a certain woman, the wife of one of the sons of the prophets, came crying to
Elisha and said, Your servant my husband is dead; and to your knowledge he was a
worshipper of the Lord; but now, the creditor has come to take my two children as
servants in payment of his debt.
4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets
unto Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your
servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take unto him my two
sons to be bondmen.
4:2 엘리사가 저에게 이르되 내가 너를 위하여 어떻게 하랴 네 집에 무엇이 있는지
내게 고하라 저가 가로되 계집종의 집에 한 병 기름 외에는 아무 것도 없나이다
4:2 Then Elisha said to her, What am I to do for you? say now, what have you in the
house? And she said, Your servant has nothing in the house but a pot of oil.
4:2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for you? tell me, what have
you in the house? And she said, Yours handmaid has not any thing in the house,
save a pot of oil.
4:3 가로되 너는 밖에 나가서 모든 이웃에게 그릇을 빌라 빈 그릇을 빌되 조금
빌지 말고
4:3 Then he said, Go out to all your neighbours and get vessels, a very great number
of them.
4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbours, even
empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4:4 너는 네 두 아들과 함께 들어가서 문을 닫고 그 모든 그릇에 기름을 부어서
차는 대로 옮겨 놓으라
4:4 Then go in, and, shutting the door on yourself and your sons, put oil into all these
vessels, putting on one side the full ones.
4:4 And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your
sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that
which is full.
4:5 여인이 물러가서 그 두 아들과 함께 문을 닫은 후에 저희는 그릇을 그에게로
가져오고 그는 부었더니
4:5 So she went away, and when the door was shut on her and her sons, they took the
vessels to her and she put oil into them.
4:5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who
brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
4:6 그릇에 다 찬지라 여인이 아들에게 이르되 또 그릇을 내게로 가져오라 아들이
가로되 다른 그릇이 없나이다 하니 기름이 곧 그쳤더라
4:6 And when all the vessels were full, she said to her son, Get me another vessel.
And he said, There are no more. And the flow of oil was stopped.
4:6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her
son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more.
And the oil stayed.
4:7 그 여인이 하나님의 사람에게 나아가서 고한대 저가 가로되 너는 가서 기름을
팔아 빚을 갚고 남은 것으로 너와 네 두 아들이 생활하라 하였더라
4:7 So she came to the man of God and gave him word of what she had done. And he said,
Go and get money for the oil and make payment of your debt, and let the rest be
for the needs of yourself and your sons.
4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil,
and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.
4:8 ○ 하루는 엘리사가 수넴에 이르렀더니 거기 한 귀한 여인이 저를 간권하여
음식을 먹게 한 고로 엘리사가 그 곳을 지날 때마다 음식을 먹으러 그리로 들어갔더라
4:8 Now there came a day when Elisha went to Shunem, and there was a woman of high position
living there, who made him come in and have a meal with her. And after that, every
time he went by, he went into her house for a meal.
4:8 And it fell upon a certain day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was
a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as
often as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
4:9 여인이 그 남편에게 이르되 항상 우리에게로 지나는 이 사람은 하나님의 거룩한
사람인 줄을 내가 아노니
4:9 And she said to her husband, Now I see that this is a holy man of God, who comes
by day after day.
4:9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an
holy man of God, which passes by us continually.
4:10 우리가 저를 위하여 작은 방을 담 위에 짓고 침상과 책상과 의자와 촛대를
진설하사이다 저가 우리에게 이르면 거기 유하리이다 하였더라
4:10 So let us make a little room on the wall; and put a bed there for him, and a table
and a seat and a light; so that when he comes to us, he will be able to go in there.
4:10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray you, on the wall; and let us set
for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall
be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in thither.
4:11 하루는 엘리사가 거기 이르러 그 방에 들어가서 누웠더니
4:11 Now one day, when he had gone there, he went into the little room and took his rest
there.
4:11 And it fell upon a certain day, that he came thither, and he turned
into the chamber, and lay there.
4:12 자기 사환 게하시에게 이르되 이 수넴 여인을 불러오라 곧 부르매 여인이
그 앞에 선지라
4:12 And he said to Gehazi, his servant, Send for this Shunammite. So in answer to his
voice she came before him.
4:12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he
had called her, she stood before him.
4:13 엘리사가 자기 사환에게 이르되 너는 저에게 이르라 네가 이같이 우리를
위하여 생각이 주밀하도다 내가 너를 위하여 어떻게 하랴 왕에게나 군대 장관에게
무슨 구할 것이 있느냐 여인이 가로되 나는 내 백성 중에 거하나이다 하니라
4:13 And he said to him, Now say to her, See, you have taken all this trouble for us;
what is to be done for you? will you have any request made for you to the king or
the captain of the army? But she said, I am living among my people.
4:13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, you have been careful
for us with all this care; what is to be done for you? would you be spoken in
order to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell
among mine own people.
4:14 엘리사가 가로되 그러면 저를 위하여 무엇을 하여야 할꼬 게하시가 대답하되
참으로 이 여인은 아들이 없고 그 남편은 늙었나이다
4:14 So he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi made answer, Still there
is this, she has no son and her husband is old.
4:14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily
she has no child, and her husband is old.
4:15 가로되 다시 부르라 부르매 여인이 문에 서니라
4:15 Then he said, Send for her. And in answer to his voice she took her place at the
door.
4:15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the
door.
4:16 엘리사가 가로되 돐이 되면 네가 아들을 안으리라 여인이 가로되 아니로소이다
내 주 하나님의 사람이여 당신의 계집종을 속이지 마옵소서 하니라
4:16 And Elisha said, At this time in the coming year you will have a son in your arms.
And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not say what is false to your servant.
4:16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, you shall
embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, you man of God, do not lie unto yours
handmaid.
4:17 ○ 여인이 과연 잉태하여 돐이 돌아오매 엘리사의 말한 대로 아들을 낳았더라
4:17 Then the woman became with child and gave birth to a son at the time named, in the
year after, as Elisha had said to her.
4:17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had
said unto her, according to the time of life.
4:18 그 아이가 저으기 자라매 하루는 곡식 베는 자에게 나가서 그 아비에게 이르렀더니
4:18 Now one day, when the child was older, he went out to his father to where the grain
was being cut.
4:18 And when the child was grown, it fell upon a certain day, that he went
out to his father to the reapers.
4:19 그 아비에게 이르되 내 머리야 내 머리야 하는지라 그 아비가 사환에게 명하여
그 어미에게로 데려가라 하매
4:19 And he said to his father, My head, my head! And the father said to a servant, Take
him in to his mother.
4:19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad,
Carry him to his mother.
4:20 곧 어미에게로 데려갔더니 낮까지 어미의 무릎에 앉았다가 죽은지라
4:20 And he took him in to his mother, and she took him on her knees and kept him there
till the middle of the day, when his life went from him.
4:20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on
her knees till noon, and then died.
4:21 그 어미가 올라가서 아들을 하나님의 사람의 침상 위에 두고 문을 닫고 나와서
4:21 Then she went up and put him on the bed of the man of God, shutting the door on
him, and went out.
4:21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut
the door upon him, and went out.
4:22 그 남편을 불러 이르되 청컨대 한 사환과 한 나귀를 내게로 보내소서 내가
하나님의 사람에게 달려갔다가 돌아오리이다
4:22 And she said to her husband, Send me one of the servants and one of the asses so
that I may go quickly to the man of God and come back again.
4:22 And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray you, one
of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and
come again.
4:23 그 남편이 가로되 초하루도 아니요 안식일도 아니어늘 그대가 오늘날 어찌하여
저에게 나아가고자 하느뇨 여인이 가로되 평안이니이다
4:23 And he said, Why are you going to him today? it is not a new moon or a Sabbath.
But she said, It is well.
4:23 And he said, Wherefore will you go to him to day? it is neither new
moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.
4:24 이에 나귀에 안장을 지우고 자기 사환에게 이르되 몰아 앞으로 나아가라
내가 말하지 아니하거든 나의 달려가기를 천천하게 하지 말라 하고
4:24 Then she made the ass ready and said to her servant, Keep driving on; do not make
a stop without orders from me.
4:24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward;
slack not your riding for me, except I bid you.
4:25 드디어 갈멜 산으로 가서 하나님의 사람에게로 나아가니라 ○ 하나님의 사람이
멀리서 저를 보고 자기 사환 게하시에게 이르되 저기 수넴 여인이 있도다
4:25 So she went, and came to Mount Carmel, to the man of God. And when the man of God
saw her coming in his direction, he said to Gehazi, his servant, See, there is the
Shunammite;
4:25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came
to pass, when the man of God saw her far off, that he said to Gehazi his servant,
Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:
4:26 너는 달려가서 저를 맞아 이르기를 너는 평안하냐 네 남편이 평안하냐 아이가
평안하냐 하라 하였더니 여인이 대답하되 평안하다 하고
4:26 Go quickly to her, and on meeting her say to her, Are you well? and your husband
and the child, are they well? And she said in answer, All is well.
4:26 Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with
you? is it well with your husband? is it well with the child? And she answered,
It is well:
4:27 산에 이르러 하나님의 사람에게 나아가서 그 발을 안은지라 게하시가 가까이
와서 저를 물리치고자 하매 하나님의 사람이 가로되 가만 두라 그 중심에 괴로움이
있다마는 여호와께서 내게 숨기시고 이르지 아니하셨도다
4:27 And when she came to where the man of God was on the hill, she put her hands round
his feet; and Gehazi came near with the purpose of pushing her away; but the man
of God said, Let her be, for her soul is bitter in her; and the Lord has kept it
secret from me, and has not given me word of it.
4:27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the
feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let
her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD has hid it from me,
and has not told me.
4:28 여인이 가로되 내가 내 주께 아들을 구하더이까 나를 속이지 말라고 내가
말하지 아니하더이까
4:28 Then she said, Did I make a request to my lord for a son? did I not say, Do not
give me false words?
4:28 Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not
deceive me?
4:29 엘리사가 게하시에게 이르되 네 허리를 묶고 내 지팡이를 손에 들고 가라
사람을 만나거든 인사하지 말며 사람이 네게 인사할지라도 대답하지 말고 내 지팡이를
그 아이 얼굴에 놓으라
4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, Make yourself ready, and take my stick in your hand, and
go: if you come across anyone on the way, give him no blessing, and if anyone gives
you a blessing, give him no answer. And put my stick on the child's face.
4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in yours
hand, and go your way: if you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute
you, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.
4:30 아이의 어미가 가로되 여호와의 사심과 당신의 혼의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니
내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하리이다 엘리사가 이에 일어나 여인을 좇아가니라
4:30 But the mother of the child said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living,
I will not go back without you. So he got up and went with her.
4:30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul
lives, I will not leave you. And he arose, and followed her.
4:31 게하시가 저희의 앞서 가서 지팡이를 그 아이의 얼굴에 놓았으나 소리도
없고 듣는 모양도 없는지라 돌아와서 엘리사를 맞아 가로되 아이가 깨지 아니하였나이다
4:31 And Gehazi went on before them and put the stick on the child's face; but there
was no voice, and no one gave attention. So he went back, and meeting him gave him
the news, saying, The child is not awake.
4:31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of
the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again
to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
4:32 ○ 엘리사가 집에 들어가 보니 아이가 죽었는데 자기의 침상에 눕혔는지라
4:32 And when Elisha came into the house he saw the child dead, stretched on his bed.
4:32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead,
and laid upon his bed.
4:33 들어가서는 문을 닫으니 두 사람 뿐이라 엘리사가 여호와께 기도하고
4:33 So he went in, and shutting the door on the two of them, made prayer to the Lord.
4:33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto
the LORD.
4:34 아이의 위에 올라 엎드려 자기 입을 그 입에, 자기 눈을 그 눈에, 자기 손을
그 손에 대고 그 몸에 엎드리니 아이의 살이 차차 따뜻하더라
4:34 Then he got up on the bed, stretching himself out on the child, and put his mouth
on the child's mouth, his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands; and the child's
body became warm.
4:34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth,
and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself
upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
4:35 엘리사가 내려서 집 안에서 한 번 이리 저리 다니고 다시 아이 위에 올라
엎드리니 아이가 일곱 번 재채기 하고 눈을 뜨는지라
4:35 Then he came back, and after walking once through the house and back, he went up,
stretching himself out on the child seven times; and the child's eyes became open.
4:35 Then he returned, and walked in the house back and forth; and went up,
and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child
opened his eyes.
4:36 엘리사가 게하시를 불러서 저 수넴 여인을 불러오라 하니 곧 부르매 여인이
들어가니 엘리사가 가로되 네 아들을 취하라
4:36 And he gave orders to Gehazi, and said, Send for the Shunammite. And she came in
answer to his voice. And he said, Take up your son.
4:36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her.
And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up your son.
4:37 여인이 들어가서 엘리사의 발 앞에서 땅에 엎드려 절하고 아들을 안고 나가니라
4:37 And she came in, and went down on her face to the earth at his feet; then she took
her son in her arms and went out.
4:37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground,
and took up her son, and went out.
4:38 ○ 엘리사가 다시 길갈에 이르니 그 땅에 흉년이 들었는데 선지자의 생도가
엘리사의 앞에 앉은지라 엘리사가 자기 사환에게 이르되 큰 솥을 걸고 선지자의 생도들을
위하여 국을 끓이라 하매
4:38 And Elisha went back to Gilgal, now there was very little food in the land; and
the sons of the prophets were seated before him. And he said to his servant, Put
the great pot on the fire, and make soup for the sons of the prophets.
4:38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land;
and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant,
Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.
4:39 한 사람이 채소를 캐러 들에 나가서 야등덩굴을 만나 그것에서 들외를 따서
옷자락에 채워가지고 돌아와서 썰어 국 끓이는 솥에 넣되 저희는 무엇인지 알지 못한지라
4:39 And one went out into the field to get green plants and saw a vine of the field,
and pulling off the fruit of it till the fold of his robe was full, he came back
and put the fruit, cut up small, into the pot of soup, having no idea what it was.
4:39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine,
and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into
the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.
4:40 이에 퍼다가 무리에게 주어 먹게 하였더니 무리가 국을 먹다가 외쳐 가로되
하나님의 사람이여 솥에 사망의 독이 있나이다 하고 능히 먹지 못하는지라
4:40 Then they gave the men soup from the pot. And while they were drinking the soup,
they gave a cry, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot; and they were
not able to take any more food.
4:40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they
were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O you man of God,
there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.
4:41 엘리사가 가로되 그러면 가루를 가져오라 하여 솥에 던지고 가로되 퍼다가
무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 하매 이에 솥 가운데 해독이 없어지니라
4:41 But he said, Get some meal. And he put it into the pot, and said, Now give it to
the people so that they may have food. And there was nothing bad in the pot.
4:41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said,
Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.
4:42 ○ 한 사람이 바알살리사에서부터 와서 처음 익은 식물 곧 보리떡 이십과
또 자루에 담은 채소를 하나님의 사람에게 드린지라 저가 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라
4:42 Now a man came from Baal-shalishah with an offering of first-fruits for the man
of God, twenty barley cakes and garden fruit in his bag. And he said, Give these
to the people for food.
4:42 And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread
of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk
thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
4:43 그 사환이 가로되 어찜이니이까 이것을 일백 명에게 베풀겠나이까 하나 엘리사는
또 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 여호와의 말씀이 무리가 먹고 남으리라 하셨느니라
4:43 But his servant said, How am I to put this before a hundred men? But he said, Give
it to the people for food; for the Lord says, There will be food for them and some
over.
4:43 And his personal attendant said, What, should I set this before an hundred
men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus says the LORD,
They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.
4:44 저가 드디어 무리 앞에 베풀었더니 여호와의 말씀과 같이 다 먹고 남았더라
4:44 So he put it before them, and they had a meal and there was more than enough, as
the Lord had said.
4:44 So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according
to the word of the LORD.
5:1 아람 왕의 군대 장관 나아만은 그 주인 앞에서 크고 존귀한 자니 이는 여호와께서
전에 저로 아람을 구원하게 하셨음이라 저는 큰 용사나 문둥병자더라
5:1 Now Naaman, chief of the army of the king of Aram, was a man of high position with
his master, and greatly respected, because by him the Lord had given salvation to
Aram; but he was a leper.
5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man
with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance
unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
5:2 전에 아람 사람이 떼를 지어 나가서 이스라엘 땅에서 작은 계집 아이 하나를
사로잡으매 저가 나아만의 아내에게 수종들더니
5:2 Now the Aramaeans had gone out in bands, and taken prisoner from Israel a little
girl, who became servant to Naaman's wife.
5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive
out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.
5:3 그 주모에게 이르되 우리 주인이 사마리아에 계신 선지자 앞에 계셨으면 좋겠나이다
저가 그 문둥병을 고치리이다
5:3 And she said to her master's wife, If only my lord would go to the prophet in Samaria,
he would make him well.
5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet
that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
5:4 나아만이 들어가서 그 주인에게 고하여 가로되 이스라엘 땅에서 온 계집아이의
말이 이러이러 하더이다
5:4 And someone went and said to his lord, This is what the girl from the land of Israel
says.
5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid
that is of the land of Israel.
5:5 아람 왕이 가로되 갈지어다 이제 내가 이스라엘 왕에게 글을 보내리라 나아만이
곧 떠날새 은 십 달란트와 금 육천 개와 의복 열 벌을 가지고 가서
5:5 So the king of Aram said, Go then; and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.
And he went, taking with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold,
and ten changes of clothing.
5:5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto
the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver,
and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
5:6 이스라엘 왕에게 그 글을 전하니 일렀으되 내가 내 신하 나아만을 당신에게
보내오니 이 글이 당신에게 이르거든 당신은 그 문둥병을 고쳐 주소서 하였더라
5:6 And he took the letter to the king of Israel, in which the king of Aram had said,
See, I have sent my servant Naaman to you to be made well, for he is a leper.
5:6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this
letter has come unto you, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to
you, that you may recover him of his leprosy.
5:7 이스라엘 왕이 그 글을 읽고 자기 옷을 찢으며 가로되 내가 어찌 하나님이관대
능히 사람을 죽이며 살릴 수 있으랴 저가 어찌하여 사람을 내게 보내어 그 문둥병을
고치라 하느냐 너희는 깊이 생각하고 저 왕이 틈을 타서 나로 더불어 시비하려 함인
줄
알라 하니라
5:7 But the king of Israel, after reading the letter, was greatly troubled and said,
Am I God, to give death and life? why does this man send a leper to me to be made
well? is it not clear that he is looking for a cause of war?
5:7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that
he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this
man does send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I
pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.
5:8 ○ 하나님의 사람 엘리사가 이스라엘 왕이 자기 옷을 찢었다 함을 듣고 왕에게
보내어 가로되 왕이 어찌하여 옷을 찢었나이까 그 사람을 내게로 오게 하소서 저가
이스라엘 중에 선지자가 있는 줄을 알리이다
5:8 Now Elisha, the man of God, hearing that the king of Israel had done this, sent
to the king, saying, Why are you troubled? send the man to me, so that he may see
that there is a prophet in Israel.
5:8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of
Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore have
you rent your clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there
is a prophet in Israel.
5:9 나아만이 이에 말들과 병거들을 거느리고 이르러 엘리사의 집 문에 서니
5:9 So Naaman, with all his horses and his carriages, came to the door of Elisha's house.
5:9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the
door of the house of Elisha.
5:10 엘리사가 사자를 저에게 보내어 가로되 너는 가서 요단 강에 몸을 일곱 번
씻으라 네 살이 여전하여 깨끗하리라
5:10 And Elisha sent a servant to him, saying, Go to Jordan, and after washing seven
times in its waters your flesh will be well again and you will be clean.
5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan
seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.
5:11 나아만이 노하여 물러가며 가로되 내 생각에는 저가 내게로 나아와 서서 그
하나님 여호와의 이름을 부르고 당처 위에 손을 흔들어 문둥병을 고칠까 하였도다
5:11 But Naaman was angry and went away and said, I had the idea that he would come out
to see such an important person as I am, and make prayer to the Lord his God, and
with a wave of his hand over the place make the leper well.
5:11 But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He
will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his
God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
5:12 다메섹 강 아바나와 바르발은 이스라엘 모든 강물보다 낫지 아니하냐 내가
거기서 몸을 씻으면 깨끗하게 되지 아니하랴 하고 몸을 돌이켜 분한 모양으로 떠나니
5:12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?
may I not be washed in them and become clean? So turning, he went away in wrath.
5:12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters
of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away
in a rage.
5:13 그 종들이 나아와서 말하여 가로되 내 아버지여 선지자가 당신을 명하여
큰 일을 행하라 하였더면 행치 아니하였으리이까 하물며 당신에게 이르기를 씻어
깨끗하게 하라 함이리이까
5:13 Then his servants came to him and said, If the prophet had given you orders to do
some great thing, would you not have done it? how much more then, when he says to
you, Be washed and become clean?
5:13 And his servants came near, and spoke unto him, and said, My father,
if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, would you not have done it?
how much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?
5:14 나아만이 이에 내려가서 하나님의 사람의 말씀대로 요단 강에 일곱 번 몸을
잠그니 그 살이 여전하여 어린 아이의 살 같아서 깨끗하게 되었더라
5:14 Then he went down seven times into the waters of Jordan, as the man of God had said;
and his flesh became like the flesh of a little child again, and he was clean.
5:14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according
to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh
of a little child, and he was clean.
5:15 ○ 나아만이 모든 종자와 함께 하나님의 사람에게로 도로 와서 그 앞에 서서
가로되 내가 이제 이스라엘 외에는 온 천하에 신이 없는 줄을 아나이다 청컨대 당신의
종에게서 예물을 받으소서
5:15 Then he went back to the man of God, with all his train, and, taking his place before
him, said, Now I am certain that there is no God in all the earth, but only in Israel:
now then, take an offering from me.
5:15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came,
and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in
all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing of
your servant.
5:16 가로되 나의 섬기는 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내가 받지 아니하리라
나아만이 받으라 강권하되 저가 고사한지라
5:16 But he said, By the life of the Lord whose servant I am, I will take nothing from
you. And he did his best to make him take it but he would not.
5:16 But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive
none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.
5:17 나아만이 가로되 그러면 청컨대 노새 두 바리에 실을 흙을 당신의 종에게
주소서 이제부터는 종이 번제든지 다른 제든지 다른 신에게는 드리지 아니하고 다만
여호와께 드리겠나이다
5:17 Then Naaman said, If you will not, then let there be given to your servant as much
earth as two beasts are able to take on their backs; because from now on, your servant
will make no offering or burned offering to other gods, but only to the Lord.
5:17 And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray you, be given to your
servant two mules' burden of earth? for your servant will henceforth offer neither
burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
5:18 오직 한 가지 일이 있사오니 여호와께서 당신의 종을 사유하시기를 원하나이다
곧 내 주인께서 림몬의 당에 들어가 거기서 숭배하며 내 손을 의지하시매 내가 림몬의
당에서 몸을 굽히오니 내가 림몬의 당에서 몸을 굽힐 때에 여호와께서 이 일에 대하여
당신의 종을 사유하시기를 원하나이다
5:18 But may your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this one thing: when my master
goes into the house of Rimmon for worship there, supported on my arm, and my head
is bent in the house of Rimmon; when his head is bent in the house of Rimmon, may
your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this thing.
5:18 In this thing the LORD pardon your servant, that when my master goes
into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow
myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon,
the LORD pardon your servant in this thing.
5:19 엘리사가 가로되 너는 평안히 가라 저가 엘리사를 떠나 조금 진행하니라
5:19 And he said to him, Go in peace. And he went from him some distance.
5:19 And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little
way.
5:20 ○ 하나님의 사람 엘리사의 사환 게하시가 스스로 이르되 내 주인이 이 아람
사람 나아만에게 면하여 주고 그 가지고 온 것을 그 손에서 받지 아니하였도다 여호와의
사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내가 저를 쫓아가서 무엇이든지 그에게서 취하리라 하고
5:20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God, said, Now my master has taken
nothing from Naaman, this Aramaean, of what he would have given him: by the living
Lord, I will go after him and get something from him.
5:20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master
has spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought:
but, as the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
5:21 나아만의 뒤를 쫓아가니 나아만이 자기 뒤에 달려옴을 보고 수레에 내려서
맞아 가로되 평안이냐
5:21 So Gehazi went after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he got down
from his carriage and went back to him and said, Is all well?
5:21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after
him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
5:22 저가 가로되 평안이니이다 우리 주인께서 나를 보내시며 말씀하시기를 지금
선지자의 생도 중에 두 소년이 에브라임 산지에서부터 내게 왔으니 청컨대 당신은
저희에게 은 한 달란트와 옷 두 벌을 주라 하시더이다
5:22 And he said, All is well: but my master has sent me, saying, Even now, two young
men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill-country of Ephraim;
will you give me a talent of silver and two changes of clothing for them?
5:22 And he said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, even
now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the
prophets: give them, I pray you, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.
5:23 나아만이 가로되 바라건대 두 달란트를 받으라 하고 저를 억제하여 은 두
달란트를 두 전대에 넣어 매고 옷 두 벌을 아울러 두 사환에게 지우매 저희가 게하시
앞에서 지고 가니라
5:23 And Naaman said, Be good enough to take two talents. And forcing him to take them,
he put two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and gave
them to his two servants to take before him.
5:23 And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and
bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid
them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
5:24 언덕에 이르러는 게하시가 그 물건을 두 사환의 손에서 취하여 집에 감추고
저희를 보내어 가게 한 후
5:24 When he came to the hill, he took them from their hands, and put them away in the
house; and he sent the men away, and they went.
5:24 And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed
them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.
5:25 들어가서 그 주인 앞에 서니 엘리사가 이르되 게하시야 네가 어디서 오느냐
대답하되 종이 아무데도 가지 아니하였나이다
5:25 Then he came in and took his place before his master. And Elisha said to him, Where
have you come from, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went nowhere.
5:25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him,
Whence come you, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went no where.
5:26 엘리사가 이르되 그 사람이 수레에서 내려 너를 맞을 때에 내 심령이 감각되지
아니하였느냐 지금이 어찌 은을 받으며 옷을 받으며 감람원이나 포도원이나 양이나
소나 남종이나 여종을 받을 때냐
5:26 And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man got down from his
carriage and went back to you? Is this a time for getting money, and clothing, and
olive-gardens and vine-gardens, and sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants?
5:26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with you, when the man turned
again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive
garments, and olive yards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and male servants,
and maidservants?
5:27 그러므로 나아만의 문둥병이 네게 들어 네 자손에게 미쳐 영원토록 이르리라
게하시가 그 앞에서 물러 나오매 문둥병이 발하여 눈 같이 되었더라
5:27 Because of what you have done, the disease of Naaman the leper will take you in
its grip, and your seed after you, for ever. And he went out from before him a leper
as white as snow.
5:27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto you, and unto your
seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
6:1 선지자의 생도가 엘리사에게 이르되 보소서 우리가 당신과 함께 거한 곳이
우리에게는 좁으니
6:1 Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, There is not room enough for us in
the place where we are living under your care;
6:1 And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place
where we dwell with you is too strait for us.
6:2 우리가 요단으로 가서 거기서 각각 한 재목을 취하여 그 곳에 우리의 거할
처소를 세우사이다 엘리사가 가로되 가라
6:2 So let us go to Jordan, and let everyone get to work cutting boards, and we will
make a living-place for ourselves there. And he said to them, Go, then.
6:2 Let us go, we pray you, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam,
and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go all
of you.
6:3 그 하나가 가로되 청컨대 당신도 종들과 함께 하소서 엘리사가 가로되 내가
가리라 하고
6:3 And one of them said, Be pleased to go with your servants. And he said, I will go.
6:3 And one said, Be content, I pray you, and go with your servants. And
he answered, I will go.
6:4 드디어 저희와 함께 가니라 무리가 요단에 이르러 나무를 베더니
6:4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they got to work cutting down
trees.
6:4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.
6:5 한 사람이 나무를 벨 때에 도끼가 자루에서 빠져 물에 떨어진지라 이에 외쳐
가로되 아아, 내 주여 이는 빌어온 것이니이다
6:5 But one of them, while cutting a board, let the head of his axe go into the water;
and he gave a cry, and said, This is a bad business, my master, for it is another's.
6:5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and
he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.
6:6 하나님의 사람이 가로되 어디 빠졌느냐 하매 그 곳을 보이는지라 엘리사가
나무가지를 베어 물에 던져서 도끼로 떠오르게 하고
6:6 And the man of God said, Where did it go in? and when he saw the place where it
had gone into the water, cutting a stick, he put it into the water, and the iron
came up to the top of the water.
6:6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he showed him the place.
And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.
6:7 가로되 너는 취하라 그 사람이 손을 내밀어 취하니라
6:7 Then he said, Take it up. So he put out his hand and took it.
6:7 Therefore said he, Take it up to you. And he put out his hand, and took
it.
6:8 ○ 때에 아람 왕이 이스라엘로 더불어 싸우며 그 신복들과 의논하여 이르기를
우리가 아무데 아무데 진을 치리라 하였더니
6:8 At that time the king of Aram was making war against Israel; and he had a meeting
with the chiefs of his army and said, I will be waiting in secret in some named
place.
6:8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his
servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
6:9 하나님의 사람이 이스라엘 왕에게 기별하여 가로되 왕은 삼가 아무 곳으로
지나가지 마소서 아람 사람이 그 곳으로 나오나이다
6:9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Take care to keep away from
that place, for the Aramaeans are waiting there in secret.
6:9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that
you pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
6:10 이스라엘 왕이 하나님의 사람의 자기에게 고하여 경계한 곳으로 사람을 보내어
방비하기가 한 두 번이 아닌지라
6:10 So the king of Israel sent to the place where the man of God had said there was
danger, and kept clear of it more than once.
6:10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him
and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
6:11 이러므로 아람 왕의 마음이 번뇌하여 그 신복들을 불러 이르되 우리 중에
누가 이스라엘 왕의 내응이 된 것을 내게 고하지 아니하느냐
6:11 And at this, the mind of the king of Aram was greatly troubled, and he sent for
his servants and said to them, Will you not make clear to me which of us is helping
the king of Israel?
6:11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this
thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will all of you not show
me which of us is for the king of Israel?
6:12 그 신복 중에 하나가 가로되 우리 주 왕이여 아니로소이다 오직 이스라엘
선지자 엘리사가 왕이 침실에서 하신 말씀이라도 이스라엘 왕에게 고하나이다
6:12 And one of them said, Not one of us, my lord king; but Elisha, the prophet in Israel,
gives the king of Israel news of the words you say even in your bedroom.
6:12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the
prophet that is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak
in your bedchamber.
6:13 왕이 가로되 너희는 가서 엘리사가 어디 있나 보라 내가 보내어 잡으리라
혹이 왕에게 고하여 가로되 엘리사가 도단에 있나이다
6:13 Then he said, Go and see where he is, so that I may send and get him. And news came
to him that he was in Dothan.
6:13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him.
And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
6:14 ○ 왕이 이에 말과 병거와 많은 군사를 보내매 저희가 밤에 가서 그 성을
에워쌌더라
6:14 So he sent there horses and carriages and a great army; and they came by night,
circling the town.
6:14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and
they came by night, and compassed the city about.
6:15 하나님의 사람의 수종드는 자가 일찌기 일어나서 나가 보니 군사와 말과 병거가
성을 에워쌌는지라 그 사환이 엘리사에게 고하되 아아, 내 주여 우리가 어찌하리이까
6:15 Now the servant of the man of God, having got up early and gone out, saw an army
with horses and carriages of war all round the town. And the servant said to him,
O my master, what are we to do?
6:15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth,
behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant
said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
6:16 대답하되 두려워하지 말라 우리와 함께 한 자가 저와 함께 한 자보다 많으니라
하고
6:16 And he said in answer, Have no fear; those who are with us are more than those who
are with them.
6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they
that be with them.
6:17 기도하여 가로되 여호와여 원컨대 저의 눈을 열어서 보게 하옵소서 하니
여호와께서 그 사환의 눈을 여시매 저가 보니 불말과 불병거가 산에 가득하여 엘리사를
둘렀더라
6:17 Then Elisha made a prayer to the Lord, saying, Lord, let his eyes be open so that
he may see. And the Lord made the young man's eyes open; and he saw that all the
mountain was full of horses and carriages of fire round Elisha.
6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray you, open his eyes, that he
may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold,
the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
6:18 아람 사람이 엘리사에게 내려오매 엘리사가 여호와께 기도하여 가로되 원컨대
저 무리의 눈을 어둡게 하옵소서 하매 엘리사의 말대로 그 눈을 어둡게 하신지라
6:18 Now when the Aramaeans came down to Elisha, he made a prayer to the Lord saying,
Lord, make this people blind. And he made them blind at Elisha's request.
6:18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said,
Strike this people, I pray you, with blindness. And he stroke them with blindness
according to the word of Elisha.
6:19 엘리사가 저희에게 이르되 이는 그 길이 아니요 이는 그 성도 아니니 나를
따라 오라 내가 너희를 인도하여 너희의 찾는 사람에게로 나아가리라 하고 저희를
인도하여 사마리아에 이르니라
6:19 And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, and this is not the town: come after
me so that I may take you to the man you are searching for. And he took them to
Samaria.
6:19 And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the
city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom all of you seek. But he
led them to Samaria.
6:20 ○ 사마리아에 들어갈 때에 엘리사가 가로되 여호와여 이 무리의 눈을 열어서
보게 하옵소서 하니 여호와께서 저희의 눈을 여시매 저희가 보니 자기가 사마리아
가운데 있더라
6:20 And when they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, Lord, let the eyes of these men
be open so that they may see. And the Lord made their eyes open, and they saw that
they were in the middle of Samaria.
6:20 And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said,
LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their
eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
6:21 이스라엘 왕이 저희를 보고 엘리사에게 이르되 내 아버지여 내가 치리이까
내가 치리이까
6:21 And the king of Israel, when he saw them, said to Elisha, My father, am I to put
them to the sword?
6:21 And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father,
shall I strike them? shall I strike them?
6:22 대답하되 치지 마소서 칼과 활로 사로잡은 자인들 어찌 치리이까 떡과 물을
그 앞에 두어 먹고 마시게 하고 그 주인에게로 돌려보내소서
6:22 But he said in answer, You are not to put them to death; have you any right to put
to death those whom you have not taken prisoner with your sword and your bow? put
bread and water before them, so that they may have food and drink and go to their
master.
6:22 And he answered, You shall not strike them: would you strike those whom
you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? set bread and water
before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
6:23 왕이 위하여 식물을 많이 베풀고 저희가 먹고 마시매 놓아 보내니 저희가
그 주인에게로 돌아가니라 이로부터 아람 군사의 부대가 다시는 이스라엘 땅에 들어오지
못하니라
6:23 So he made ready a great feast for them, and when they had had food and drink, he
sent them away and they went back to their master. And no more bands of Aramaeans
came into the land of Israel.
6:23 And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and
drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria
came no more into the land of Israel.
6:24 ○ 이후에 아람 왕 벤하닷이 그 온 군대를 모아 올라와서 사마리아를 에워싸니
6:24 Now after this, Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got together all his army and went up to
make an attack on Samaria, shutting the town in on all sides with his forces.
6:24 And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered
all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.
6:25 아람 사람이 사마리아를 에워싸므로 성중이 크게 주려서 나귀 머리 하나에
은 팔십 세겔이요 합분태 사분 일 갑에 은 다섯 세겔이라
6:25 And they became very short of food in Samaria; for they kept it shut in till the
price of an ass's head was eighty shekels of silver, and a small measure of doves'
droppings was five shekels of silver.
6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged
it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth
part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
6:26 이스라엘 왕이 성 위로 통과할 때에 한 여인이 외쳐 가로되 나의 주 왕이여
도우소서
6:26 And when the king of Israel was going by on the wall, a woman came crying out to
him, and said, Help! my lord king.
6:26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried
a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
6:27 왕이 가로되 여호와께서 너를 돕지 아니하시면 내가 무엇으로 너를 도우랴
타작 마당으로 말미암아 하겠느냐 포도주 틀로 말미암아 하겠느냐
6:27 And he said, If the Lord does not give you help, where am I to get help for you?
from the grain-floor or the grape-crusher?
6:27 And he said, If the LORD do not help you, whence shall I help you? out
of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?
6:28 또 가로되 무슨 일이냐 여인이 대답하되 이 여인이 내게 이르기를 네 아들을
내라 우리가 오늘날 먹고 내일은 내 아들을 먹자 하매
6:28 And the king said to her, What is troubling you? And she said in answer, This woman
said to me, Give your son to be our food today, and we will have my son tomorrow.
6:28 And the king said unto her, What disturbs you? And she answered, This
woman said unto me, Give your son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat
my son tomorrow.
6:29 우리가 드디어 내 아들을 삶아 먹었더니 이튿날에 내가 이르되 네 아들을
내라 우리가 먹으리라 하나 저가 그 아들을 숨겼나이다
6:29 So, boiling my son, we had a meal of him; and on the day after I said to her, Now
give your son for our food; but she has put her son in a secret place.
6:29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next
day, Give your son, that we may eat him: and she has hid her son.
6:30 왕이 그 여인의 말을 듣고 자기 옷을 찢으니라 저가 성 위로 지나갈 때에
백성이 본즉 그 속살에 굵은 베를 입었더라
6:30 Then the king, hearing what the woman said, took his robes in his hands, violently
parting them; and, while he was walking on the wall, the people, looking, saw that
under his robe he had haircloth on his flesh.
6:30 And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that
he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked,
and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.
6:31 왕이 가로되 사밧의 아들 엘리사의 머리가 오늘날 그 몸에 붙어 있으면 하나님이
내게 벌 위에 벌을 내리실지로다 하니라
6:31 Then he said, May God's punishment come on me if Elisha, the son of Shaphat, keeps
his head on his body after this day.
6:31 Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the
son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.
6:32 그 때에 엘리사가 그 집에 앉았고 장로들이 저와 함께 앉았는데 왕이 자기
처소에서 사람을 보내었더니 그 사자가 이르기 전에 엘리사가 장로들에게 이르되 너희는
이 살인한 자의 자식이 내 머리를 취하려고 사람을 보내는 것을 보느냐 너희는 보다가
사자가 오거든 문을 닫고 문 안에 들이지 말라 그 주인의 발소리가 그 뒤에서 나지
아니하느냐
하고
6:32 But Elisha was in his house, and the responsible men were seated there with him;
and before the king got there, Elisha said to those who were with him, Do you see
how this cruel and violent man has sent to take away my life?
6:32 But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king
sent a man from before him: but before the messenger came to him, he said to
the elders, See all of you how this son of a murderer has sent to take away
mine head? look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast
at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?
6:33 무리와 말씀할 때에 그 사자가 이르니라 왕이 가로되 이 재앙이 여호와께로부터
나왔으니 어찌 더 여호와를 기다리리요
6:33 While he was still talking to them, the king came down and said, This evil is from
the Lord; why am I to go on waiting any longer for the Lord?
6:33 And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto
him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the
LORD any longer?
7:1 엘리사가 가로되 여호와의 말씀을 들을지어다 여호와께서 가라사대 내일 이맘때에
사마리아 성문에서 고운 가루 한 스아에 한 세겔을 하고 보리 두 스아에 한 세겔을
하리라 하셨느니라
7:1 Then Elisha said, Give ear to the word of the Lord: the Lord says, Tomorrow, about
this time, a measure of good meal will be offered for the price of a shekel and
two measures of barley for a shekel, in the market-place of Samaria.
7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear all of you the word of the LORD; Thus says the
LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel,
and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
7:2 그 때에 한 장관 곧 왕이 그 손에 의지하는 자가 하나님의 사람에게 대답하여
가로되 여호와께서 하늘에 창을 내신들 어찌 이런 일이 있으리요 엘리사가 가로되
네가 네 눈으로 보리라 그러나 그것을 먹지는 못하리라 하니라
7:2 Then the captain whose arm was supporting the king said to the man of God, Even
if the Lord made windows in heaven, would such a thing be possible? And he said,
Your eyes will see it, but you will not have a taste of the food.
7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and
said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?
And he said, Behold, you shall see it with yours eyes, but shall not eat thereof.
7:3 ○ 성문 어귀에 문둥이 네 사람이 있더니 서로 말하되 우리가 어찌하여 여기
앉아서 죽기를 기다리랴
7:3 Now there were four lepers seated at the doorway into the town: and they said to
one another, Why are we waiting here for death?
7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they
said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
7:4 우리가 성에 들어가자고 할지라도 성중은 주리니 우리가 거기서 죽을 것이요
여기 앉아 있어도 죽을지라 그런즉 우리가 가서 아람 군대에게 항복하자 저희가 우리를
살려 두면 살려니와 우리를 죽이면 죽을 따름이라 하고
7:4 If we say, We will go into the town, there is no food in the town, and we will come
to our end there; and if we go on waiting here, death will come to us. Come then,
let us give ourselves up to the army of Aram: if they let us go on living, then
life will be ours; and if they put us to death, then death will be ours.
7:4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city,
and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore
come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we
shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
7:5 아람 진으로 가려 하여 황혼에 일어나서 아람 진 가에 이르러 본즉 그 곳에
한 사람도 없으니
7:5 So in the half light they got up to go to the tents of Aram; but when they came
to the outer line of tents, there was no one there.
7:5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians:
and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold,
there was no man there.
7:6 이는 주께서 아람 군대로 병거 소리와 말 소리와 큰 군대의 소리를 듣게 하셨으므로
아람 사람이 서로 말하기를 이스라엘 왕이 우리를 치려 하여 헷 사람의 왕들과 애굽
왕들에게 값을 주고 저희로 우리에게 오게 하였다 하고
7:6 For the Lord had made the sound of carriages and horses, and the noise of a great
army, come to the ears of the Aramaeans, so that they said to one another, Truly,
the king of Israel has got the kings of the Hittites and of the Egyptians for a
price to make an attack on us.
7:6 For the LORD had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots,
and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to
another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites,
and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
7:7 황혼에 일어나서 도망하되 그 장막과 말과 나귀를 버리고 진을 그대로 두고
목숨을 위하여 도망하였음이라
7:7 So they got up and went in flight, in the half light, without their tents or their
horses or their asses or any of their goods; they went in flight, fearing for their
lives.
7:7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents,
and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their
life.
7:8 그 문둥이들이 진 가에 이르자 한 장막에 들어가서 먹고 마시고 거기서 은과
금과 의복을 가지고 가서 감추고 다시 와서 다른 장막에 들어가서 거기서도 가지고
가서 감추니라
7:8 And when those lepers came to the outer line of tents, they went into one tent,
and had food and drink, and took from it silver and gold and clothing, which they
put in a secret place; then they came back and went into another tent from which
they took more goods, which they put away in a secret place.
7:8 And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went
into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and
raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent,
and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
7:9 ○ 문둥이가 서로 말하되 우리의 소위가 선치 못하도다 오늘날은 아름다운
소식이 있는 날이어늘 우리가 잠잠하고 있도다 만일 밝은 아침까지 기다리면 벌이
우리에게 미칠지니 이제 떠나 왕궁에 가서 고하자 하고
7:9 Then they said to one another, We are not doing right. Today is a day of good news,
and we say nothing: if we go on waiting here till the morning, punishment will come
to us. So let us go and give the news to those of the king's house.
7:9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good
tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief
will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.
7:10 드디어 가서 성 문지기를 불러 고하여 가로되 우리가 아람 진에 이르러 보니
거기 한 사람도 없고 사람의 소리도 없고 오직 말과 나귀만 매여 있고 장막들이 그대로
있더이다
7:10 So they came in, and, crying out to the door-keepers of the town, they gave them
the news, saying, We came to the tents of the Aramaeans, and there was no one there
and no voice of man, only the horses and the asses in their places, and the tents
as they were.
7:10 So they came and called unto the gate keeper of the city: and they told
them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no
man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents
as they were.
7:11 저가 문지기들을 부르매 저희가 왕궁에 있는 자에게 고하니
7:11 Then the door-keepers, crying out, gave the news to those inside the king's house.
7:11 And he called the porters; and they told it to the king's house within.
7:12 왕이 밤에 일어나 그 신복들에게 이르되 아람 사람이 우리에게 행한 것을
내가 너희에게 알게 하노니 저희가 우리의 주린 것을 아는 고로 그 진을 떠나서 들에
매복하고 스스로 이르기를 저희들이 성에서 나오거든 우리가 사로잡고 성에 들어가겠다
한 것이니라
7:12 Then the king got up in the night and said to his servants, This is my idea of what
the Aramaeans have done to us. They have knowledge that we are without food; and
so they have gone out of their tents, and are waiting secretly in the open country,
saying, When they come out of the town, we will take them living and get into the
town.
7:12 And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will
now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry;
therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying,
When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the
city.
7:13 그 신복 중 하나가 대답하여 가로되 청컨대 아직 성중에 남아 있는 말 다섯
필을 취하고 사람을 보내어 정탐하게 하소서 이 말들이 성중에 남아 있는 이스라엘
온 무리 곧 멸망한 이스라엘 온 무리와 같으니이다 하고
7:13 And one of his servants said in answer, Send men and let them take five of the horses
which we still have in the town; if they keep their lives they will be the same
as those of Israel who are still living here; if they come to their death they will
be the same as all those of Israel who have gone to destruction: let us send and
see.
7:13 And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray you,
five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are
as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are
even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send
and see.
7:14 저희가 병거 둘과 그 말을 취한지라 왕이 아람 군대 뒤로 보내며 가서 정탐하라
하였더니
7:14 So they took two horsemen; and the king sent them after the army of the Aramaeans,
saying, Go and see.
7:14 They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the
host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
7:15 저희가 그 뒤를 따라 요단에 이른즉 아람 사람이 급히 도망하느라고 버린
의복과 군물이 길에 가득하였더라 사자가 돌아와서 왕에게 고하매
7:15 And they went after them as far as Jordan; and all the road was covered with clothing
and vessels dropped by the Aramaeans in their flight. So those who were sent went
back and gave the news to the king.
7:15 And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full
of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And
the messengers returned, and told the king.
7:16 백성들이 나가서 아람 사람의 진을 노략한지라 이에 고운 가루 한 스아에
한 세겔이 되고 보리 두 스아에 한 세겔이 되니 여호와의 말씀과 같이 되었고
7:16 Then the people went out and took the goods from the tents of the Aramaeans. So
a measure of good meal was to be had for the price of a shekel, and two measures
of barley for a shekel, as the Lord had said.
7:16 And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a
measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for
a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
7:17 왕이 그 손에 의지하였던 그 장관을 세워 성문을 지키게 하였더니 백성이
성문에서 저를 밟으매 하나님의 사람의 말대로 죽었으니 곧 왕이 내려왔을 때에 그의
한 말대로라
7:17 And the king gave authority to that captain, on whose arm he was supported, to have
control over the doorway into the town; but he was crushed to death there under
the feet of the people, as the man of God had said when the king went down to him.
7:17 And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the
charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died,
as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.
7:18 일찌기 하나님의 사람이 왕에게 고하여 이르기를 내일 이맘때에 사마리아
성문에서 보리 두 스아에 한 세겔을 하고 고운 가루 한 스아에 한 세겔을 하리라
한즉
7:18 So the words of the man of God came true, which he said to the king: Two measures
of barley will be offered for the price of a shekel and a measure of good meal for
a shekel, tomorrow about this time in the market-place of Samaria.
7:18 And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying,
Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel,
shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
7:19 그 때에 이 장관이 하나님의 사람에게 대답하여 가로되 여호와께서 하늘에
창을 내신들 어찌 이 일이 있으랴 하매 대답하기를 네가 네 눈으로 보리라 그러나
그것을 먹지는 못하리라 하였더니
7:19 And that captain said to the man of God, Even if the Lord made windows in heaven,
would such a thing be possible? And he said to him, Your eyes will see it, but you
will not have a taste of the food.
7:19 And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the
LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold,
you shall see it with yours eyes, but shall not eat thereof.
7:20 그 장관에게 그대로 이루었으되 곧 백성이 성문에서 저를 밟으매 죽었더라
7:20 And such was his fate; for he was crushed to death under the feet of the people,
in the doorway into the town.
7:20 And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate,
and he died.
8:1 엘리사가 이전에 아들을 다시 살려준 여인에게 이르되 너는 일어나서 네 권속과
함께 거할 만한 곳으로 가서 거하라 여호와께서 기근을 명하셨으니 그대로 이 땅에
칠 년 동안 임하리라
8:1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had given back to life, Go now, with
all the people of your house, and get a living-place for yourselves wherever you
are able; for by the word of the Lord, there will be great need of food in the land;
and this will go on for seven years.
8:1 Then spoke Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life,
saying, Arise, and go you and yours household, and sojourn where ever you can
sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the
land seven years.
8:2 여인이 일어나서 하나님의 사람의 말대로 행하여 그 권속과 함께 가서 블레셋
사람의 땅에 칠 년을 우거하다가
8:2 So the woman got up and did as the man of God said; and she and the people of her
house were living in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
8:2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and
she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven
years.
8:3 칠 년이 다 하매 여인이 블레셋 사람의 땅에서 돌아와서 자기 집과 전토를
위하여 호소하려 하여 왕에게 나아갔더라
8:3 And when the seven years were ended, the woman came back from the land of the Philistines
and went to the king with a request for her house and her land.
8:3 And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned
out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king
for her house and for her land.
8:4 때에 왕이 하나님의 사람의 사환 게하시와 서로 말씀하며 가로되 너는 엘리사의
행한 모든 큰 일을 내게 고하라 하니
8:4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Now,
give me an account of all the great things Elisha has done.
8:4 And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying,
Tell me, I pray you, all the great things that Elisha has done.
8:5 게하시가 곧 엘리사가 죽은 자를 다시 살린 일을 왕에게 이야기할 때에 그
다시 살린 아이의 어미가 자기 집과 전토를 위하여 왕에게 호소하는지라 게하시가
가로되 내 주 왕이여 이는 그 여인이요 저는 그 아들이니 곧 엘리사가 다시 살린
자니이다
8:5 And while he was giving the king the story of how Elisha had given life to the dead,
the woman whose son had come back to life came to the king with a request for her
house and her land. And Gehazi said, My lord king, this is the woman and this is
her son, whose life Elisha gave back to him.
8:5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a
dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life,
cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord,
O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
8:6 왕이 그 여인에게 물으매 여인이 고한지라 왕이 저를 위하여 한 관리를 임명하여
가로되 무릇 이 여인에게 속한 것과 이 땅에서 떠날 때부터 이제까지 그 밭의 소출을
다 돌려 주라 하였더라
8:6 And in answer to the king's questions, the woman gave him all the story. So the
king gave orders to one of his unsexed servants, saying, Give her back all her property,
and all the produce of her fields from the day when she went away from the land
up till now.
8:6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed
unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits
of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
8:7 ○ 엘리사가 다메섹에 갔을 때에 아람 왕 벤하닷이 병들었더니 혹이 왕에게
고하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이 여기 이르렀나이다
8:7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, was ill; and they said
to him, The man of God has come.
8:7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick;
and it was told him, saying, The man of God has come here.
8:8 왕이 하사엘에게 이르되 너는 손에 예물을 가지고 가서 하나님의 사람을 맞고
저로 말미암아 여호와께 나의 이 병이 낫겠나 물으라
8:8 Then the king said to Hazael, Take an offering with you, and go to see the man of
God and get directions from the Lord by him, saying, Am I going to get better from
my disease?
8:8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in yours hand, and go,
meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover
of this disease?
8:9 하사엘이 드디어 맞으러 갈새 다메섹 모든 아름다운 물품으로 예물을 삼아가지고
약대 사십에 싣고 나아가서 저의 앞에 서서 가로되 당신의 아들 아람 왕 벤하닷이
나를 당신에게 보내어 가로되 나의 이 병이 낫겠나이까 하더이다
8:9 So Hazael went to see him, taking with him forty camels with offerings on their
backs of every sort of good thing from Damascus; and when he came before him, he
said, Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Will I get better
from this disease?
8:9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every
good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him,
and said, Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, Shall
I recover of this disease?
8:10 엘리사가 가로되 너는 가서 저에게 고하기를 왕이 정녕 나으리라 하라 그러나
여호와께서 저가 정녕 죽으리라고 내게 알게 하셨느니라 하고
8:10 And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, You will certainly get better; but the Lord
has made it clear to me that only death is before him.
8:10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, You may certainly recover:
nevertheless the LORD has showed me that he shall surely die.
8:11 하나님의 사람이 저가 부끄러워하기까지 쏘아보다가 우니
8:11 And he kept his eyes fixed on him till he was shamed, and the man of God was overcome
with weeping.
8:11 And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and
the man of God wept.
8:12 하사엘이 가로되 내 주여 어찌하여 우시나이까 대답하되 네가 이스라엘 자손에게
행할 모든 악을 내가 앎이라 네가 저희 성에 불을 놓으며 장정을 칼로 죽이며 어린
아이를 메어치며 아이 밴 부녀를 가르리라
8:12 And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? Then he said in answer, Because I see the
evil which you will do to the children of Israel: burning down their strong towns,
putting their young men to death with the sword, smashing their little ones against
the stones, and cutting open the women who are with child.
8:12 And Hazael said, Why weeps my lord? And he answered, Because I know
the evil that you will do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds will
you set on fire, and their young men will you slay with the sword, and will
dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
8:13 하사엘이 가로되 당신의 개 같은 종이 무엇이관대 이런 큰 일을 행하오리이까
엘리사가 대답하되 여호와께서 네가 아람 왕이 될 것을 내게 알게 하셨느니라
8:13 And Hazael said, How is it possible that your servant, who is only a dog, will do
this great thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has made it clear to me that you will
be king over Aram.
8:13 And Hazael said, But what, is your servant a dog, that he should do
this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD has showed me that you shall
be king over Syria.
8:14 저가 엘리사를 떠나가서 그 주인에게 나아가니 왕이 묻되 엘리사가 네게
무슨 말을 하더냐 대답하되 저가 내게 이르기를 왕이 정녕 나으시리라 하더이다
8:14 Then he went away from Elisha and came in to his master, who said to him, What did
Elisha say to you? And his answer was, He said that you would certainly get well.
8:14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him,
What said Elisha to you? And he answered, He told me that you should surely
recover.
8:15 그 이튿날에 하사엘이 이불을 물에 적시어 왕의 얼굴에 덮으매 왕이 죽은지라
저가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
8:15 Now on the day after, Hazael took the bed-cover, and making it wet with water, put
it over Ben-hadad's face, causing his death: and Hazael became king in his place.
8:15 And it came to pass on the next day, that he took a thick cloth, and
dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned
in his position.
8:16 ○ 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제 오 년에 유다 왕 여호사밧이 오히려
위에 있을 때에 그 아들 여호람이 왕이 되니라
8:16 In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, the son of
Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king.
8:16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat
being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Je hoshaphat king of Judah began
to reign.
8:17 여호람이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 삼십 이 세라 예루살렘에서 팔 년을 치리하니라
8:17 He was thirty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem
for eight years.
8:17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned
eight years in Jerusalem.
8:18 저가 이스라엘 왕들의 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 하였으니 이는 아합의
딸이 그 아내가 되었음이라 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으나
8:18 He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the family of Ahab did: for the daughter
of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
8:18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of
Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of
the LORD.
8:19 여호와께서 그 종 다윗을 위하여 유다 멸하기를 즐겨하지 아니하셨으니 이는
저와 그 자손에게 항상 등불을 주겠다고 허하셨음이더라
8:19 But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on Judah, because of David
his servant, to whom he had given his word that he would have a light for ever.
8:19 Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as
he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.
8:20 여호람 때에 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 수하에서 벗어나 자기 위에 왕을 세운
고로
8:20 In his time, Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, and took a king for
themselves.
8:20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king
over themselves.
8:21 여호람이 모든 병거를 거느리고 사일로 갔더니 밤에 일어나 자기를 에워싼
에돔 사람과 그 병거의 장관들을 치니 이에 백성이 도망하여 각각 그 장막으로 돌아갔더라
8:21 Then Joram went over to Zair, with all his war-carriages; ... made an attack by
night on the Edomites, whose forces were all round him, ... the captains of the
war-carriages; and the people went in flight to their tents.
8:21 So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose
by night, and stroke the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains
of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
8:22 이와 같이 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 수하에서 벗어났더니 오늘날까지 그러하였으며
그 때에 립나도 배반하였더라
8:22 So Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah to this day. And at the same
time, Libnah made itself free.
8:22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah
revolted at the same time.
8:23 여호람의 남은 사적과 그 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지
아니하였느냐
8:23 Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all he did, are they not recorded in the
book of the history of the kings of Judah?
8:23 And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not
written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
8:24 여호람이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 열조들과 함께 다윗 성에 장사되고 그
아들 아하시야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
8:24 And Joram went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth with his fathers
in the town of David: and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
8:24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in
the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his position.
8:25 ○ 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제 십 이 년에 유다 왕 여호람의 아들
아하시야가 왕이 되니
8:25 In the twelfth year that Joram, the son of Ahab, was king of Israel, Ahaziah, the
son of Jehoram, king of Judah, became king;
8:25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah
the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
8:26 아하시야가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십 이 세라 예루살렘에서 일 년을 치리하니라
그 모친의 이름은 아달랴라 이스라엘 왕 오므리의 손녀더라
8:26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem
for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri, king of Israel.
8:26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he
reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter
of Omri king of Israel.
8:27 아하시야가 아합의 집 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 여호와 보시기에 악을
행하였으니 저는 아합의 집의 사위가 되었음이러라
8:27 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, and did evil in the eyes of the Lord
as the family of Ahab did, for he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab.
8:27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight
of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house
of Ahab.
8:28 저가 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 아람 왕 하사엘로 더불어
싸우더니 아람 사람들이 요람을 상하게 한지라
8:28 He went with Joram, the son of Ahab, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead:
and Joram was wounded by the Aramaeans.
8:28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king
of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
8:29 요람 왕이 아람 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때에 라마에서 아람 사람에게 맞아 상한
것을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔더라 아합의 아들 요람이 병이 있으므로 유다
왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 이스르엘에 내려가서 방문하였더라
8:29 So King Joram went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which the bowmen
had given him at Ramah, when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah,
the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram, the son of Ahab, in Jezreel,
because he was ill.
8:29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which
the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria.
And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son
of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
