1:1 Çϳª´Ô°ú ÁÖ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ Á¾ ¾ß°íº¸´Â Èð¾îÁ® ÀÖ´Â ¿­ µÎ ÁöÆÄ¿¡°Ô ¹®¾ÈÇϳë¶ó
1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, sends words of love to the twelve tribes of the Jews living in all parts of the earth.
1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

1:2 ¡Û ³» ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿©·¯ °¡Áö ½ÃÇèÀ» ¸¸³ª°Åµç ¿ÂÀüÈ÷ ±â»Ú°Ô ¿©±â¶ó 1:2 Let it be all joy to you, my brothers, when you undergo tests of every sort;
1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when all of you fall into divers temptations;

1:3 ÀÌ´Â ³ÊÈñ ¹ÏÀ½ÀÇ ½Ã·ÃÀÌ Àγ»¸¦ ¸¸µé¾î ³»´Â ÁÙ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¾ÍÀ̶ó
1:3 Because you have the knowledge that the testing of your faith gives you the power of going on in hope;
1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.

1:4 But let this power have its full effect, so that you may be made complete, needing nothing.
1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that all of you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

1:5 But if any man among you is without wisdom, let him make his request to God, who gives freely to all without an unkind word, and it will be given to him.
1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him.

1:6 Let him make his request in faith, doubting nothing; for he who has doubt in his heart is like the waves of the sea, which are troubled by the driving of the wind.
1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

1:7 ÀÌ·± »ç¶÷Àº ¹«¾ùÀ̵çÁö ÁÖ²² ¾ò±â¸¦ »ý°¢ÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó
1:7 Let it not seem to such a man that he will get anything from the Lord;
1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

1:8 µÎ ¸¶À½À» Ç°¾î ¸ðµç ÀÏ¿¡ Á¤ÇÔÀÌ ¾ø´Â ÀڷδÙ
1:8 For there is a division in his mind, and he is uncertain in all his ways.
1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

1:9 ¡Û ³·Àº ÇüÁ¦´Â ÀÚ±âÀÇ ³ôÀ½À» ÀÚ¶ûÇÏ°í
1:9 But let the brother of low position be glad that he is lifted up;
1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

1:10 ºÎÇÑ ÇüÁ¦´Â ÀÚ±âÀÇ ³·¾ÆÁüÀ» ÀÚ¶ûÇÒÁö´Ï ÀÌ´Â Ç®ÀÇ ²É°ú °°ÀÌ Áö³ª°¨À̶ó
1:10 But the man of wealth, that he is made low; because like the flower of the grass he will come to his end.
1:10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

1:11 For when the sun comes up with its burning heat, the grass gets dry and the grace of its form is gone with the falling flower; so the man of wealth comes to nothing in his ways.
1:11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of the fashion of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

1:12 ¡Û ½ÃÇèÀ» Âü´Â ÀÚ´Â º¹ÀÌ ÀÖµµ´Ù ÀÌ°Í¿¡ ¿Ç´Ù ÀÎÁ¤ÇϽÉÀ» ¹ÞÀº ÈÄ¿¡ ÁÖ²²¼­ Àڱ⸦ »ç¶ûÇÏ´Â Àڵ鿡°Ô ¾à¼ÓÇϽŠ»ý¸íÀÇ ¸é·ù°üÀ» ¾òÀ» °ÍÀÓÀ̴϶ó
1:12 There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God's approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.
1:12 Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

1:13 Let no man say when he is tested, I am tested by God; for it is not possible for God to be tested by evil, and he himself puts no man to such a test:
1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:

1:14 ¿ÀÁ÷ °¢ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ½ÃÇèÀ» ¹Þ´Â °ÍÀº Àڱ⠿å½É¿¡ ²ø·Á ¹ÌȤµÊÀÌ´Ï
1:14 But every man is tested when he is turned out of the right way by the attraction of his desire.
1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

1:15 ¿å½ÉÀÌ À×ÅÂÇÑÁï Á˸¦ ³º°í ÁË°¡ À强ÇÑÁï »ç¸ÁÀ» ³º´À´Ï¶ó
1:15 Then when its time comes, desire gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is of full growth, gives birth to death.
1:15 Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

1:16 Do not be turned from the right way, dear brothers.
1:16 Do not go astray, my beloved brethren.

1:17 Every good and true thing is given to us from heaven, coming from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or any shade made by turning.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

1:18 Of his purpose he gave us being, by his true word, so that we might be, in a sense, the first-fruits of all the things which he had made.
1:18 Of his own will brings forth he us with the word (o. logos) of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

1:19 You have knowledge of this, dear brothers. But let every man be quick in hearing, slow in words, slow to get angry;
1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

1:20 »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¼º³»´Â °ÍÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÀǸ¦ ÀÌ·çÁö ¸øÇÔÀ̴϶ó
1:20 For the righteousness of God does not come about by the wrath of man.
1:20 For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God.

1:21 ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ¸ðµç ´õ·¯¿î °Í°ú ³ÑÄ¡´Â ¾ÇÀ» ³»¾î ¹ö¸®°í ´ÉÈ÷ ³ÊÈñ ¿µÈ¥À» ±¸¿øÇÒ ¹Ù ¸¶À½¿¡ ½É±ä µµ¸¦ ¿ÂÀ¯ÇÔÀ¸·Î ¹ÞÀ¸¶ó
1:21 For this reason, putting away all dirty behaviour and the overweight of evil, take into your souls without pride the word which, being planted there, is able to give you salvation.
1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and abundance of evil, and receive with meekness the implanted word, (o. logos) which is able to save your souls.

1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers of it, blinding yourselves with false ideas.
1:22 But be all of you doers of the word, (o. logos) and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

1:23 ´©±¸µçÁö µµ¸¦ µè°í ÇàÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¸é ±×´Â °Å¿ï·Î ÀÚ±âÀÇ »ý±ä ¾ó±¼À» º¸´Â »ç¶÷°ú °°À¸´Ï
1:23 Because if any man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass;
1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, (o. logos) and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

1:24 Á¦ ÀÚ½ÅÀ» º¸°í °¡¼­ ±× ¸ð¾çÀÌ ¾î¶°ÇÑ °ÍÀ» °ð Àؾî¹ö¸®°Å´Ï¿Í
1:24 For after looking at himself he goes away, and in a short time he has no memory of what he was like.
1:24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.

1:25 ÀÚÀ¯ÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ´Â ¿ÂÀüÇÑ À²¹ýÀ» µé¿©´Ùº¸°í ÀÖ´Â ÀÚ´Â µè°í Àؾî¹ö¸®´Â ÀÚ°¡ ¾Æ´Ï¿ä ½ÇÇàÇÏ´Â ÀÚ´Ï ÀÌ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±× ÇàÇÏ´Â ÀÏ¿¡ º¹À» ¹ÞÀ¸¸®¶ó
1:25 But he who goes on looking into the true law which makes him free, being not a hearer without memory but a doer putting it into effect, this man will have a blessing on his acts.
1:25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

1:26 If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his tongue but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man's religion is of no value.
1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

1:27 Çϳª´Ô ¾Æ¹öÁö ¾Õ¿¡¼­ Á¤°áÇÏ°í ´õ·¯¿òÀÌ ¾ø´Â °æ°ÇÀº °ð °í¾Æ¿Í °úºÎ¸¦ ±× ȯ³­ Áß¿¡ µ¹¾Æº¸°í ¶Ç Àڱ⸦ ÁöÄÑ ¼¼¼Ó¿¡ ¹°µéÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´Â ÀÌ°ÍÀ̴϶ó
1:27 The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the world.
1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

2:1 ³» ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ¿µ±¤ÀÇ ÁÖ °ð ¿ì¸® ÁÖ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ¸¦ ¹Ï´Â ¹ÏÀ½À» ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¹Þ¾ÒÀ¸´Ï »ç¶÷À» ¿Ü¸ð·Î ÃëÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó
2:1 My brothers, if you have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory, do not take a man's position into account.
2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

2:2 ¸¸ÀÏ ³ÊÈñ ȸ´ç¿¡ ±Ý °¡¶ôÁö¸¦ ³¢°í ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¿ÊÀ» ÀÔÀº »ç¶÷ÀÌ µé¾î¿À°í ¶Ç ´õ·¯¿î ¿ÊÀ» ÀÔÀº °¡³­ÇÑ »ç¶÷ÀÌ µé¾î¿Ã ¶§¿¡
2:2 For if a man comes into your Synagogue in fair clothing and with a gold ring, and a poor man comes in with dirty clothing,
2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

2:3 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¿ÊÀ» ÀÔÀº ÀÚ¸¦ µ¹¾Æº¸¾Æ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©±â ÁÁÀº ÀÚ¸®¿¡ ¾ÉÀ¸¼Ò¼­ ÇÏ°í ¶Ç °¡³­ÇÑ ÀÚ¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³Ê´Â °Å±â ¼¹µçÁö ³» ¹ßµî»ó ¾Æ·¡ ¾ÉÀ¸¶ó Çϸé
2:3 And you do honour to the man in fair clothing and say, Come here and take this good place; and you say to the poor man, Take up your position there, or be seated at my feet;
2:3 And all of you have respect to him that wears the cheerful clothing, and say unto him, Sit you here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand you there, or sit here under my footstool:

2:4 ³ÊÈñ³¢¸® ¼­·Î ±¸º°ÇÏ¸ç ¾ÇÇÑ »ý°¢À¸·Î ÆÇ´ÜÇÏ´Â ÀÚ°¡ µÇ´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï³Ä
2:4 Is there not a division in your minds? have you not become judges with evil thoughts?
2:4 Are all of you not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

2:5 ³» »ç¶ûÇÏ´Â ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ µéÀ»Áö¾î´Ù Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ¼¼»ó¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿©´Â °¡³­ÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ ÅÃÇÏ»ç ¹ÏÀ½¿¡ ºÎ¿äÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ½Ã°í ¶Ç Àڱ⸦ »ç¶ûÇÏ´Â Àڵ鿡°Ô ¾à¼ÓÇϽŠ³ª¶ó¸¦ À¯¾÷À¸·Î ¹Þ°Ô ¾Æ´ÏÇϼ̴À³Ä
2:5 Give ear, my dear brothers; are not those who are poor in the things of this world marked out by God to have faith as their wealth, and for their heritage the kingdom which he has said he will give to those who have love for him?
2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him?

2:6 ³ÊÈñ´Â µµ¸®¾î °¡³­ÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ °ý½ÃÇÏ¿´µµ´Ù ºÎÀÚ´Â ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¾ÐÁ¦ÇÏ¸ç ¹ýÁ¤À¸·Î ²ø°í °¡Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´À³Ä
2:6 But you have put the poor man to shame. Are not the men of wealth rulers over you? do they not take you by force before their judges?
2:6 But all of you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

2:7 ÀúÈñ´Â ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ´ëÇÏ¿© ÀÏÄ´ ¹Ù ±× ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î À̸§À» ÈѹæÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´À³Ä
2:7 Do they not say evil of the holy name which was given to you?
2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which all of you are called?

2:8 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¸¸ÀÏ °æ¿¡ ±â·ÏÇÑ ´ë·Î ³× ÀÌ¿ô »ç¶ûÇϱ⸦ ³× ¸ö°ú °°ÀÌ Ç϶ó ÇϽŠÃÖ°íÇÑ ¹ýÀ» ÁöÅ°¸é ÀßÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ°Å´Ï¿Í
2:8 But if you keep the greatest law of all, as it is given in the holy Writings, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself, you do well:
2:8 If all of you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbour as yourself, all of you do well:

2:9 ¸¸ÀÏ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿Ü¸ð·Î »ç¶÷À» ÃëÇϸé Á˸¦ Áþ´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ï À²¹ýÀÌ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¹üÁËÀÚ·Î Á¤Çϸ®¶ó
2:9 But if you take a man's position into account, you do evil, and are judged as evil-doers by the law.
2:9 But if all of you have respect to persons, all of you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

2:10 ´©±¸µçÁö ¿Â À²¹ýÀ» ÁöÅ°´Ù°¡ ±× Çϳª¿¡ °ÅÄ¡¸é ¸ðµÎ ¹üÇÑ ÀÚ°¡ µÇ³ª´Ï
2:10 For anyone who keeps all the law, but makes a slip in one point, is judged to have gone against it all.
2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

2:11 For he who said, Do not be untrue in married life, is the same who said, Put no man to death. Now if you are not untrue in married life, but you put a man to death, the law is broken.
2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.

2:12 ³ÊÈñ´Â ÀÚÀ¯ÀÇ À²¹ý´ë·Î ½ÉÆÇ ¹ÞÀ» ÀÚó·³ ¸»µµ ÇÏ°í ÇàÇϱ⵵ Ç϶ó
2:12 Let your words and your acts be those of men who are to be judged by the law which makes free.
2:12 So speak all of you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

2:13 ±àÈáÀ» ÇàÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô´Â ±àÈá ¾ø´Â ½ÉÆÇÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸®¶ó ±àÈáÀº ½ÉÆÇÀ» À̱â°í ÀÚ¶ûÇÏ´À´Ï¶ó
2:13 For the man who has had no mercy will be judged without mercy, but mercy takes pride in overcoming judging.
2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

2:14 ¡Û ³» ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ¸¸ÀÏ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¹ÏÀ½ÀÌ ÀÖ³ë¶ó ÇÏ°í ÇàÇÔÀÌ ¾øÀ¸¸é ¹«½¼ ÀÌÀÍÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸®¿ä ±× ¹ÏÀ½ÀÌ ´ÉÈ÷ Àڱ⸦ ±¸¿øÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä
2:14 What use is it, my brothers, for a man to say that he has faith, if he does nothing? will such a faith give him salvation?
2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

2:15 If a brother or a sister is without clothing and in need of the day's food,
2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

3:1 Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachers will be judged more hardly than others.
3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

3:2 For we all go wrong in a number of things. If a man never makes a slip in his talk, then he is a complete man and able to keep all his body in control.

3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

3:12 Is a fig-tree able to give us olives, my brothers, or do we get figs from a vine, or sweet water from the salt sea?
3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

3:13 Who has wisdom and good sense among you? let him make his works clear by a life of gentle wisdom.
3:13 Who is a wise man and imbued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

4:1 What is the cause of wars and fighting among you? is it not in your desires which are at war in your bodies?
4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not behind, even of your lusts that war in your members?

4:2 You are burning with desire, and have not your desire, so you put men to death; you are full of envy, and you are not able to get your desire, so you are fighting and making war; you have not your desire, because you do not make request for it.
4:2 All of you lust, and have not: all of you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: all of you fight and war, yet all of you have not, because all of you ask not.

4:4 O you who are false to God, do you not see that the friends of this world are not God's friends? Every man desiring to be a friend of this world makes himself a hater of God.
4:4 All of you adulterers and adulteresses, know all of you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

4:6 But he gives more grace. So that the Writings say, God is against the men of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low before him.

4:11 Do not say evil against one another, my brothers. He who says evil against his brother or makes himself his brother's judge, says evil against the law and is judging the law: and in judging the law you become, not a doer of the law but a judge.

4:13 Go to now, all of you that say, To day or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

4:14 When you are not certain what will take place tomorrow. What is your life? It is a mist, which is seen for a little time and then is gone.
4:14 Whereas all of you know not what shall be on the next day. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.

4:15 ³ÊÈñ°¡ µµ¸®¾î ¸»Çϱ⸦ ÁÖÀÇ ¶æÀÌ¸é ¿ì¸®°¡ »ì±âµµ ÇÏ°í ÀÌ°Í Àú°ÍÀ» Çϸ®¶ó ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ°Å´Ã
4:15 But the right thing to say would be, If it is the Lord's pleasure and if we are still living, we will do this and that.
4:15 For that all of you ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

4:16 But now you go on glorying in your pride: and all such glorying is evil.
4:16 But now all of you rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

4:17 The man who has knowledge of how to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
4:17 Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.

5:1 µéÀ¸¶ó ºÎÇÑ ÀÚµé¾Æ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÒ °í»ýÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿© ¿ï°í Åë°îÇ϶ó
5:1 Come now, you men of wealth, give yourselves to weeping and crying because of the bitter troubles which are coming to you.
5:1 Go to now, all of you rich men, weep and wail for your miseries that shall come upon you.

5:2 ³ÊÈñ Àç¹°Àº ½â¾ú°í ³ÊÈñ ¿ÊÀº Á» ¸Ô¾úÀ¸¸ç
5:2 Your wealth is unclean and insects have made holes in your clothing.
5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.

5:3 ³ÊÈñ ±Ý°ú ÀºÀº ³ìÀÌ ½½¾úÀ¸´Ï ÀÌ ³ìÀÌ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô Áõ°Å°¡ µÇ¸ç ºÒ °°ÀÌ ³ÊÈñ »ìÀ» ¸ÔÀ¸¸®¶ó ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¸»¼¼¿¡ Àç¹°À» ½×¾Òµµ´Ù
5:3 Your gold and your silver are wasted and their waste will be a witness against you, burning into your flesh. You have put by your store in the last days.
5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. All of you have heaped treasure together for the last days.

5:4 º¸¶ó ³ÊÈñ ¹ç¿¡ Ãß¼öÇÑ Ç°±º¿¡°Ô ÁÖÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÑ »éÀÌ ¼Ò¸® Áö¸£¸ç Ãß¼öÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ¿ì´Â ¼Ò¸®°¡ ¸¸±ºÀÇ ÁÖÀÇ ±Í¿¡ µé·È´À´Ï¶ó
5:4 See, the money which you falsely kept back from the workers cutting the grass in your field, is crying out against you; and the cries of those who took in your grain have come to the ears of the Lord of armies.
5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.

5:5 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¶¥¿¡¼­ »çÄ¡ÇÏ°í ¿¬¶ôÇÏ¿© µµ»ìÀÇ ³¯¿¡ ³ÊÈñ ¸¶À½À» »ìÁö°Ô ÇÏ¿´µµ´Ù
5:5 You have been living delicately on earth and have taken your pleasure; you have made your hearts fat for a day of destruction.
5:5 All of you have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; all of you have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

5:6 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿ÇÀº ÀÚ¸¦ Á¤ÁËÇÏ¿´µµ´Ù ¶Ç Á׿´µµ´Ù ±×´Â ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ´ëÇ×ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
5:6 You have given your decision against the upright man and have put him to death. He puts up no fight against you.
5:6 All of you have condemned and killed the just; and he does not resist you.

5:7 ¡Û ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ÁÖÀÇ °­¸²ÇϽñâ±îÁö ±æÀÌ ÂüÀ¸¶ó º¸¶ó ³óºÎ°¡ ¶¥¿¡¼­ ³ª´Â ±ÍÇÑ ¿­¸Å¸¦ ¹Ù¶ó°í ±æÀÌ Âü¾Æ À̸¥ ºñ¿Í ´ÊÀº ºñ¸¦ ±â´Ù¸®³ª´Ï
5:7 Go on waiting calmly, my brothers, till the coming of the Lord, like the farmer waiting for the good fruit of the earth till the early and late rains have come.
5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

5:8 ³ÊÈñµµ ±æÀÌ Âü°í ¸¶À½À» ±»°Ô Ç϶ó ÁÖÀÇ °­¸²ÀÌ °¡±î¿ì´Ï¶ó
5:8 Be as calm in your waiting; let your hearts be strong: because the coming of the Lord is near.
5:8 Be all of you also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws nigh.

5:9 ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ¼­·Î ¿ø¸ÁÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó ±×¸®ÇÏ¿©¾ß ½ÉÆÇÀ» ¸éÇϸ®¶ó º¸¶ó ½ÉÆÇÀÚ°¡ ¹® ¹Û¿¡ ¼­ °è½Ã´Ï¶ó
5:9 Say no hard things against one another, brothers, so that you will not be judged; see, the judge is waiting at the doors.
5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest all of you be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

5:10 ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ÁÖÀÇ À̸§À¸·Î ¸»ÇÑ ¼±ÁöÀÚµé·Î °í³­°ú ¿À·¡ ÂüÀ½ÀÇ º»À» »ïÀ¸¶ó
5:10 Take as an example of pain nobly undergone and of strength in trouble, the prophets who gave to men the words of the Lord.
5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

5:11 We say that those men who have gone through pain are happy: you have the story of Job and the troubles through which he went and have seen that the Lord was full of pity and mercy in the end.
5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. All of you have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

5:12 ¡Û ³» ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ¹«¾ùº¸´Ùµµ ¸Í¼¼ÇÏÁö ¸»Áö´Ï Çϴ÷γª ¶¥À¸·Î³ª ¾Æ¹« ´Ù¸¥ °ÍÀ¸·Îµµ ¸Í¼¼ÇÏÁö ¸»°í ¿ÀÁ÷ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ±×·¸´Ù ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº ±×·¸´Ù ÇÏ°í ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ÇÏ¿© ÁË Á¤ÇÔÀ» ¸éÇ϶ó
5:12 But most of all, my brothers, do not take oaths, not by the heaven, or by the earth, or by any other thing: but let your Yes be Yes, and your No be No: so that you may not be judged.
5:12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest all of you fall into condemnation.

5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? let him say prayers. Is anyone glad? let him make a song of praise.
5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

5:14 ³ÊÈñ Áß¿¡ º´µç ÀÚ°¡ ÀÖ´À³Ä Àú´Â ±³È¸ÀÇ Àå·ÎµéÀ» ûÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¿ä ±×µéÀº ÁÖÀÇ À̸§À¸·Î ±â¸§À» ¹Ù¸£¸ç À§ÇÏ¿© ±âµµÇÒÁö´Ï¶ó
5:14 Is anyone among you ill? let him send for the rulers of the church; and let them say prayers over him, putting oil on him in the name of the Lord.
5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

5:15 And by the prayer of faith the man who is ill will be made well, and he will be lifted up by the Lord, and for any sin which he has done he will have forgiveness.
5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

5:16 So then, make a statement of your sins to one another, and say prayers for one another so that you may be made well. The prayer of a good man is full of power in its working.
5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that all of you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

5:17 Elijah was a man of flesh and blood as we are, and he made a strong prayer that there might be no rain; and there was no rain on the earth for three years and six months.
5:17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

5:18 ´Ù½Ã ±âµµÇÑÁï ÇÏ´ÃÀÌ ºñ¸¦ ÁÖ°í ¶¥ÀÌ ¿­¸Å¸¦ ³»¾ú´À´Ï¶ó
5:18 And he made another prayer, and the heaven sent down rain and the earth gave her fruit.
5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

5:19 My brothers, if one of you has gone out of the way of the true faith and another has made him see his error,
5:19 Brethren, if any of you do go astray from the truth, and one convert him;

5:20 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¾Ë °ÍÀº ÁËÀÎÀ» ¹ÌȤÇÑ ±æ¿¡¼­ µ¹¾Æ¼­°Ô ÇÏ´Â ÀÚ°¡ ±× ¿µÈ¥À» »ç¸Á¿¡¼­ ±¸¿øÇϸç Çã´ÙÇÑ Á˸¦ µ¤À» °ÍÀ̴϶ó
5:20 Be certain that he through whom a sinner has been turned from the error of his way, keeps a soul from death and is the cause of forgiveness for sins without number.
5:20 Let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
