16:1 Schickt dem Landesherrn Lämmer von Sela aus der Wüste zum Berge der Tochter Zion!
16:1 Send all of you the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
16:2 Aber wie ein Vogel dahinfliegt, der aus dem Nest getrieben wird, so werden sein die Töchter Moabs in den Furten des Arnon.
16:2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
16:3 "Sammelt Rat, haltet Gericht, mache deinen Schatten des Mittags wie die Nacht; verbirg die Verjagten, und melde die Flüchtlinge nicht!
16:3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make your shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; betray not him that wanders.
16:4 Laß meine Verjagten bei dir herbergen; sei du für Moab ein Schirm vor dem Verstörer, so wird der Dränger ein Ende haben, der Verstörer aufhören und der Untertreter ablassen im Lande."
16:4 Let mine outcasts dwell with you, Moab; be you a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortionist is at an end, the spoiler ceases, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
16:5 Es wird aber ein Stuhl bereitet werden aus Gnaden, daß einer darauf sitze in der Wahrheit, in der Hütte Davids, und richte und trachte nach Recht und fördere Gerechtigkeit.
16:5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
16:6 Wir hören aber von dem Hochmut Moabs, daß er gar groß ist, daß auch ihr Hochmut, Stolz und Zorn größer ist denn ihre Macht.
16:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.
16:7 Darum wird ein Moabiter über den andern heulen; allesamt werden sie Heulen. Über die Grundfesten der Stadt Kir-Hareseth werden sie seufzen, ganz zerschlagen.
16:7 Therefore shall Moab wail for Moab, every one shall wail: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall all of you mourn; surely they are stricken.
16:8 Denn Hesbon ist ein wüstes Feld geworden; der Weinstock zu Sibma ist verderbt; die Herren unter den Heiden haben seine edlen Reben zerschlagen, die da reichten bis gen Jaser und sich zogen in die Wüste; ihre Schößlinge sind zerstreut und über das Meer geführt.
16:8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.
16:9 Darum weine ich um Jaser und um den Weinstock zu Sibma und vergieße viel Tränen um Hesbon und Eleale. Denn es ist ein Gesang in deinen Sommer und in deine Ernte gefallen,
16:9 Therefore I will mourn for with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water you with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for your summer fruits and for your harvest is fallen.
16:10 daß Freude und Wonne im Felde aufhört, und in den Weinbergen jauchzt noch ruft man nicht. Man keltert keinen Wein in den Keltern; ich habe dem Gesang ein Ende gemacht.
16:10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
16:11 Darum rauscht mein Herz über Moab wie eine Harfe und mein Inwendiges über Kir-Heres.
16:11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.
16:12 Alsdann wird's offenbar werden, wie Moab müde ist bei den Altären und wie er zu seinem Heiligtum gegangen sei, zu beten, und doch nichts ausgerichtet habe.
16:12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
16:13 Das ist's, was der HERR dazumal gegen Moab geredet hat.
16:13 This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning Moab since that time.
16:14 Nun aber redet der HERR und spricht: In drei Jahren, wie eines Tagelöhners Jahre sind, wird die Herrlichkeit Moabs gering werden bei all seiner großen Menge, daß gar wenig übrigbleibe und nicht viel.
16:14 But now the LORD has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a worker, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.

17:1 Dies ist die Last über Damaskus: Siehe, Damaskus wird keine Stadt mehr sein, sondern ein zerfallener Steinhaufe.
17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
17:2 Die Städte Aroer werden verlassen sein, daß Herden daselbst weiden, die niemand scheuche.
17:2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
17:3 Und es wird aus sein mit der Feste Ephraims; und das Königreich zu Damaskus und das übrige Syrien wird sein wie die Herrlichkeit der Kinder Israel, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.
17:3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, says the LORD of hosts.
17:4 Zu der Zeit wird die Herrlichkeit Jakobs dünn sein, und sein fetter Leib wird mager sein.
17:4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
17:5 Denn sie wird sein, als wenn einer Getreide einsammelte in der Ernte, und als wenn einer mit seinem Arm die Ähren einerntete, und als wenn einer Ähren läse im Tal Rephaim
17:5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathers the corn, and reaps the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathers ears in the valley of Rephaim.
17:6 und die Nachernte darin bliebe; als wenn man einen Ölbaum schüttelte, daß zwei oder drei Beeren blieben oben in dem Wipfel, oder als wenn vier oder fünf Früchte an den Zweigen hangen, spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels.
17:6 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the utmost fruitful branches thereof, says the LORD God of Israel.
17:7 Zu der Zeit wird sich der Mensch halten zu dem, der ihn gemacht hat, und seine Augen werden auf den Heiligen in Israel schauen,
17:7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
17:8 und wird sich nicht halten zu den Altären, die seine Hände gemacht haben, und nicht schauen auf das, was seine Finger gemacht haben, weder auf Ascherabilder noch Sonnensäulen.
17:8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
17:9 Zu der Zeit werden die Städte ihrer Stärke sein wie verlassene Burgen im Wald und auf der Höhe, so verlassen wurden vor den Kindern Israel, und werden wüst sein.
17:9 In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.
17:10 Denn du hast vergessen des Gottes deines Heils und nicht gedacht an den Felsen deiner Stärke. Darum setzest du lustige Pflanzen und legest ausländische Reben.
17:10 Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not been mindful of the rock of your strength, therefore shall you plant pleasant plants, and shall set it with strange slips:
17:11 Zur Zeit des Pflanzens wirst du sein wohl warten, daß der Same zeitig wachse; aber in der Ernte, wenn du die Garben sollst erben, wirst du dafür Schmerzen eines Betrübten haben.
17:11 In the day shall you make your plant to grow, and in the morning shall you make your seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
17:12 O weh der Menge so großen Volks! Wie das Meer wird es brausen; und das Getümmel der Leute wird wüten, wie groß Wasser wüten. {~}
17:12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
17:13 Ja, wie große Wasser wüten, so werden die Leute wüten. Aber er wird sie schelten, so werden sie ferne wegfliehen, und wird sie verfolgen, wie der Spreu auf den Bergen vom Winde geschieht und wie einem Staubwirbel vom Ungewitter geschieht.
17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
17:14 Um den Abend, siehe, so ist Schrecken da; und ehe es Morgen wird, sind sie nimmer da. Das ist der Lohn unsrer Räuber und das Erbe derer, die uns das Unsre nehmen.
17:14 And behold at evening-time trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

18:1 Weh dem Lande, das unter den Segeln im Schatten fährt, jenseits der Wasser des Mohrenlandes,
18:1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
18:2 das Botschafter auf dem Meer sendet und in Rohrschiffen auf den Wassern fährt! Gehet hin, ihr schnellen Boten, zum Volk, das hochgewachsen und glatt ist, zum Volk, das schrecklicher ist denn sonst irgend eins, zum Volk, das gebeut und zertritt, welchem die Wasserströme sein Land einnehmen. {~}
18:2 That sends ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, all of you swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning until now; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
18:3 Alle, die ihr auf Erden wohnet und im Lande sitzet, werden sehen, wie man das Panier auf den Bergen aufwerfen wird, und hören, wie man die Drommeten blasen wird.
18:3 All you inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see all of you, when he lifts up an explicit sign on the mountains; and when he blows a trumpet, hear all of you.
18:4 Denn so spricht der HERR zu mir: Ich will stillhalten und schauen in meinem Sitz wie bei heller Hitze im Sonnenschein, wie bei Taugewölk in der Hitze der Ernte.
18:4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
18:5 Denn vor der Ernte, wenn die Blüte vorüber ist und die Traube reift, wird man die Ranken mit Hippen abschneiden und die Reben wegnehmen und abhauen, {~}
18:5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
18:6 daß man's miteinander läßt liegen den Vögeln auf den Bergen und den Tieren im Lande, daß des Sommers die Vögel darin nisten und des Winters allerlei Tiere im Lande darin liegen.
18:6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
18:7 Zu der Zeit wird das hochgewachsenen und glatte Volk, das schrecklicher ist denn sonst irgend eins, das gebeut und zertritt, welchem die Wasserströme sein Land einnehmen, Geschenke bringen dem HERRN Zebaoth an den Ort, da der Name des HERRN Zebaoth ist, zum Berge Zion. {~}
18:7 In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning until now; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

19:1 Dies ist die Last über Ägypten: Siehe, der HERR wird auf einer schnellen Wolke fahren und über Ägypten kommen. Da werden die Götzen in Ägypten vor ihm beben, und den Ägyptern wird das Herz feige werden in ihrem Leibe.
19:1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
19:2 Und ich will die Ägypter aneinander hetzen, daß ein Bruder gegen den andern, ein Freund gegen den andern, eine Stadt gegen die andere, ein Reich gegen das andere streiten wird.
19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
19:3 Und der Mut soll den Ägyptern in ihrem Herzen vergehen, und ich will ihre Anschläge zunichte machen. Da werden sie dann fragen ihre Götzen und Pfaffen und Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter.
19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
19:4 Aber ich will die Ägypter übergeben in die Hände grausamer Herren, und ein harter König soll über sie herrschen, spricht der Herrscher, der HERR Zebaoth.
19:4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
19:5 Und das Wasser in den Seen wird vertrocknen; dazu der Strom wird versiegen und verschwinden.
19:5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
19:6 Und die Wasser werden verlaufen, daß die Flüsse Ägyptens werden gering und trocken werden, daß Rohr und Schilf verwelken,
19:6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
19:7 und das Gras an den Wassern wird verstieben, und alle Saat am Wasser wird verdorren und zunichte werden.
19:7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
19:8 Und die Fischer werden trauern; und alle die, so Angeln ins Wasser werfen, werden klagen; und die, so Netze auswerfen aufs Wasser, werden betrübt sein.
19:8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
19:9 Es werden mit Schanden bestehen, die da gute Garne wirken und Netze stricken.
19:9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
19:10 Und des Landes Pfeiler werden zerschlagen; und alle, die um Lohn arbeiten, werden bekümmert sein.
19:10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
19:11 Die Fürsten zu Zoan sind Toren; die weisen Räte Pharaos sind im Rat zu Narren geworden. Was sagt ihr doch zu Pharao: Ich bin der Weisen Kind und komme von alten Königen her?
19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say all of you unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
19:12 Wo sind denn nun deine Weisen? Laß sie dir's verkündigen und anzeigen, was der HERR Zebaoth über Ägypten beschlossen hat.
19:12 Where are they? where are your wise men? and let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed upon Egypt.
19:13 Aber die Fürsten zu Zoan sind zu Narren geworden, die Fürsten zu Noph sind betrogen; es verführen Ägypten die Ecksteine seiner Geschlechter.
19:13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
19:14 Denn der HERR hat einen Schwindelgeist unter sie ausgegossen, daß sie Ägypten verführen in allem ihrem Tun, wie ein Trunkenbold taumelt, wenn er speit.
19:14 The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
19:15 Und Ägypten wird kein Werk haben, das Haupt oder Schwanz, Ast oder Stumpf ausrichte.
19:15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
19:16 Zu der Zeit wird Ägypten sein wie Weiber und sich fürchten und erschrecken, wenn der HERR Zebaoth die Hand über sie schwingen wird. {~}
19:16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it.
19:17 Und Ägypten wird sich fürchten vor dem Lande Juda, daß, wer desselben gedenkt, wird davor erschrecken über den Rat des HERRN Zebaoth, den er über sie beschlossen hat.
19:17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that makes mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he has determined against it.
19:18 Zu der Zeit werden fünf Städte in Ägyptenland reden nach der Sprache Kanaans und schwören bei dem HERRN Zebaoth. Eine wird heißen Ir-Heres.
19:18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19:19 Zu derselben Zeit wird des HERRN Altar mitten in Ägyptenland sein und ein Malstein des HERRN an den Grenzen,
19:19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
19:20 welcher wird ein Zeichen und Zeugnis sein dem HERR Zebaoth in Ägyptenland. Denn sie werden zum HERRN schreien vor den Drängern, so wird er ihnen senden einen Heiland und Meister, der sie errette.
19:20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
19:21 Denn der HERR wird den Ägyptern bekannt werden, und die Ägypter werden den HERRN kennen zu der Zeit und werden ihm dienen mit Opfer und Speisopfer und werden dem HERR geloben und halten.
19:21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
19:22 Und der HERR wird die Ägypter plagen und heilen; denn sie werden sich bekehren zum HERRN, und er wird sich erbitten lassen und sie heilen.
19:22 And the LORD shall strike Egypt: he shall strike and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be implored of them, and shall heal them.
19:23 Zu der Zeit wird eine Bahn sein von Ägypten nach Assyrien, daß die Assyrer nach Ägypten und die Ägypter nach Assyrien kommen und die Ägypter samt den Assyrern Gott dienen.
19:23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
19:24 Zu der Zeit wird Israel selbdritt sein mit den Ägyptern und Assyrern, ein Segen mitten auf der Erden.
19:24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
19:25 Denn der HERR Zebaoth wird sie segnen und sprechen: Gesegnet bist du, Ägypten, mein Volk, und du, Assur, meiner Hände Werk, und du, Israel, mein Erbe!
19:25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

20:1 Im Jahr, da der Tharthan gen Asdod kam, als ihn gesandt hatte Sargon, der König von Assyrien, und stritt gegen Asdod und gewann es,
20:1 In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
20:2 zu derselben Zeit redete der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn des Amoz, und sprach: Gehe hin und zieh ab den Sack von deinen Lenden und zieh deine Schuhe aus von deinen Füßen. Und er tut also, ging nackt und barfuß.
20:2 At the same time spoke the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off your loins, and put off your shoe from your foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
20:3 Da sprach der HERR: Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja nackt und barfuß geht, zum Zeichen und Wunder dreier Jahre über Ägypten und Mohrenland,
20:3 And the LORD said, Like my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
20:4 also wird der König von Assyrien hintreiben das ganze gefangene Ägypten und vertriebene Mohrenland, beide, jung und alt, nackt und barfuß, in schmählicher Blöße, zu Schanden Ägyptens.
20:4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
20:5 Und sie werden erschrecken und mit Schanden bestehen über dem Mohrenland, darauf sie sich verließen, und über den Ägyptern, welcher sie sich rühmten.
20:5 And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
20:6 Und die Einwohner dieser Küste werden sagen zu derselben Zeit: Ist das unsre Zuversicht, dahin wir flohen um Hilfe, daß wir errettet würden von dem König von Assyrien? Wie könnten denn wir entrinnen?
20:6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, where we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

21:1 Dies ist die Last über die Wüste am Meer: Wie ein Wetter vom Mittag kommt, das alles umkehrt, so kommt's aus der Wüste, aus einem schrecklichen Lande.
21:1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.
21:2 Denn mir ist ein hartes Gesicht angezeigt: Der Räuber raubt, und der Verstörer verstört. Zieh herauf, Elam! belagere sie, Madai! Ich will allem Seufzen über sie ein Ende machen.
21:2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer deals treacherously, and the spoiler spoils. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
21:3 Derhalben sind meine Lenden voll Schmerzen, und Angst hat mich ergriffen wie eine Gebärerin; ich krümme mich, wenn ich's höre, und erschrecke, wenn ich's ansehe.
21:3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that labors: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
21:4 Mein Herz zittert, Grauen hat mich betäubt; ich habe in der lieben Nacht keine Ruhe davor.
21:4 My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure has he turned into fear unto me.
21:5 Ja, richte einen Tisch zu, laß wachen auf der Warte, esset, trinket. "Macht euch auf, ihr Fürsten, schmiert den Schild!"
21:5 Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, all of you princes, and anoint the shield.
21:6 Denn der HERR sagte zu mir also: Gehe hin, stelle einen Wächter, der da schaue und ansage.
21:6 For thus has the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.
21:7 Er sieht aber Reiter reiten auf Rossen, Eseln und Kamelen und hat mit großem Fleiß Achtung darauf. {~} {~}
21:7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
21:8 Und wie ein Löwe ruft er: Herr, ich stehe auf der Warte immerdar des Tages und stelle mich auf meine Hut alle Nacht.
21:8 And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
21:9 Und siehe, da kommt einer, der fährt auf einem Wagen; der antwortet und spricht: Babel ist gefallen, sie ist gefallen, und alle Bilder ihrer Götter sind zu Boden geschlagen.
21:9 And, behold, here comes a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he has broken unto the ground.
21:10 Meine liebe Tenne, darauf gedroschen wird! was ich gehört habe vom HERRN Zebaoth, dem Gott Israels, das verkündige ich euch.
21:10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
21:11 Dies ist die Last über Duma: Man ruft zu mir aus Seir: Hüter, ist die Nacht schier hin? Hüter ist die Nacht schier hin?
21:11 The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
21:12 Der Hüter aber sprach: Wenn der Morgen schon kommt, so wird es doch Nacht sein. Wenn ihr schon fragt, so werdet ihr doch wieder kommen und wieder fragen.
21:12 The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night: if all of you will enquire, enquire all of you: return, come.
21:13 Dies ist die Last über Arabien: ihr werdet im Walde in Arabien herbergen, ihr Reisezüge der Dedaniter.
21:13 The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall all of you lodge, O all of you travelling companies of Dedanim.
21:14 Bringet den Durstigen Wasser entgegen, die ihr wohnet im Lande Thema; bietet Brot den Flüchtigen.
21:14 The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
21:15 Denn sie fliehen vor dem Schwert, ja, vor dem bloßen Schwert, vor dem gespannten Bogen, vor dem großen Streit.
21:15 For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
21:16 Denn also spricht der HERR zu mir: Noch in einem Jahr, wie des Tagelöhners Jahre sind, soll alle Herrlichkeit Kedars untergehen,
21:16 For thus has the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a worker, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
21:17 und der übrigen Schützen der Helden zu Kedar soll wenig sein; denn der HERR, der Gott Israels, hat's geredet. {~}
21:17 And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.

22:1 Dies ist die Last über das Schautal: Was ist denn euch, daß ihr alle so auf die Dächer lauft?
22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What disturbs you now, that you are wholly gone up to the housetops?
22:2 Du warst voll Getönes, eine Stadt voll Volks, eine fröhliche Stadt. Deine Erschlagenen sind nicht mit dem Schwert erschlagen und nicht im Streit gestorben;
22:2 You that are full of stirs, a tumultuous city, joyous city: your slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
22:3 alle deine Hauptleute sind vor dem Bogen gewichen und gefangen; alle, die man in dir gefunden hat, sind gefangen und fern geflohen.
22:3 All your rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in you are bound together, which have fled from far.
22:4 Darum sage ich: Hebt euch von mir, laßt mich bitterlich weinen; müht euch nicht, mich zu trösten über die Verstörung der Tochter meines Volks!
22:4 Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
22:5 Denn es ist ein Tag des Getümmels und der Zertretung und Verwirrung vom HERRN HERRN Zebaoth im Schautal um des Untergrabens willen der Mauer und des Geschreies am Berge.
22:5 For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
22:6 Denn Elam fährt daher mit Köcher, Wagen, Leuten und Reitern, und Kir glänzt daher mit Schilden. {~}
22:6 And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.
22:7 Und es wird geschehen, daß deine auserwählten Täler werden voll Wagen sein, und Reiter werden sich lagern vor die Tore.
22:7 And it shall come to pass, that your best valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
22:8 Da wird der Vorhang Juda's aufgedeckt werden, daß man schauen wird zu der Zeit nach Rüstungen im Hause des Waldes.
22:8 And he discovered the covering of Judah, and you did look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
22:9 Und ihr werdet die Risse an der Stadt Davids viel sehen und werdet das Wasser des untern Teiches sammeln;
22:9 All of you have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and all of you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
22:10 ihr werdet auch die Häuser zu Jerusalem zählen; ja, ihr werdet die Häuser abbrechen, die Mauer zu befestigen,
22:10 And all of you have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have all of you broken down to fortify the wall.
22:11 und werdet einen Graben machen zwischen beiden Mauern vom Wasser des alten Teiches. Doch sehet ihr nicht auf den, der solches tut, und schauet nicht auf den, der solches schafft von ferneher.
22:11 All of you made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but all of you have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
22:12 Darum wird der HERR HERR Zebaoth zu der Zeit rufen lassen, daß man weine und klage und sich das Haar abschere und Säcke anziehe.
22:12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
22:13 Wiewohl jetzt, siehe, ist's eitel Freude und Wonne, Ochsen würgen, Schafe schlachten, Fleisch essen, Wein trinken und ihr sprecht: "Laßt uns essen und trinken, wir sterben doch morgen!"
22:13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; in order to morrow we shall die.
22:14 Aber meinen Ohren ist es vom HERRN Zebaoth offenbart: Was gilt's, ob euch diese Missetat soll vergeben werden, bis ihr sterbet? spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth.
22:14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till all of you die, says the Lord GOD of hosts.
22:15 So spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth: Gehe hinein zum Schatzmeister Sebna, dem Hofmeister, und sprich zu ihm:
22:15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get you unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
22:16 Was hast du hier? wem gehörst du an, daß du dir ein Grab hier hauen lässest, als der sein Grab in der Höhe hauen läßt und als der seine Wohnung in den Felsen machen läßt?
22:16 What have you here? and whom have you here, that you have hewed you out a tomb here, as he that hews him out a tomb on high, and that graves an habitation for himself in a rock?
22:17 Siehe, der HERR wird dich wegwerfen, wie ein Starker einen wegwirft, und wird dich greifen
22:17 Behold, the LORD will carry you away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover you.
22:18 und dich umtreiben wie eine Kugel auf weitem Lande. Daselbst wirst du sterben, daselbst werden deine köstlichen Wagen bleiben, du Schmach des Hauses deines Herrn! {~} {~}
22:18 He will surely violently turn and toss you like a ball into a large country: there shall you die, and there the chariots of your glory shall be the shame of your lord's house.
22:19 Und ich will dich von deinem Stande stürzen, und von deinem Amt will ich dich setzen.
22:19 And I will drive you from your station, and from your state shall he pull you down.
22:20 Und zu der Zeit will ich rufen meinen Knecht Eljakim, den Sohn Hilkias,
22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
22:21 und will ihm deinen Rock anziehen und ihn mit deinem Gürtel gürten und deine Gewalt in seine Hand geben, daß er Vater sei derer, die zu Jerusalem wohnen und des Hauses Juda.
22:21 And I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your girdle, and I will commit your government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22:22 Und ich will die Schlüssel zum Hause Davids auf seine Schulter legen, daß er auftue und niemand zuschließe, daß er zuschließe und niemand auftue.
22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
22:23 Und will ihn zum Nagel stecken an einen festen Ort, und er soll haben den Stuhl der Ehre in seines Vaters Hause,
22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
22:24 daß man an ihn hänge alle Herrlichkeit seines Vaterhauses, Kind und Kindeskinder, alle kleinen Geräte, beide, Trinkgefäße und allerlei Krüge.
22:24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
22:25 Zu der Zeit, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, soll der Nagel weggenommen werden, der am festen Ort steckt, daß er zerbreche und falle und seine Last umkomme. Denn der HERR sagt's.
22:25 In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD has spoken it.

23:1 Dies ist die Last über Tyrus: Heulet, ihr Tharsisschiffe; denn sie ist zerstört, daß kein Haus da ist noch jemand dahin zieht. Aus dem Lande Chittim werden sie des gewahr werden.
23:1 The burden of Tyre. Wail, all of you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
23:2 Die Einwohner der Insel sind still geworden. Die Kaufleute zu Sidon, die durchs Meer zogen, füllten dich,
23:2 Be still, all of you inhabitants of the isle; you whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
23:3 und was von Früchten am Sihor und Getreide am Nil wuchs, brachte man zu ihr hinein durch große Wasser; und du warst der Heiden Markt geworden.
23:3 And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a merchant of nations.
23:4 Du magst wohl erschrecken, Sidon; denn das Meer, ja, die Feste am Meer spricht: Ich bin nicht mehr schwanger, ich gebäre nicht mehr; so ziehe ich keine Jünglinge mehr auf und erziehe keine Jungfrauen.
23:4 Be you ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
23:5 Sobald es die Ägypter hören, erschrecken sie über die Kunde von Tyrus.
23:5 As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
23:6 Fahret hin gen Tharsis; heulet, ihr Einwohner der Insel!
23:6 Pass all of you over to Tarshish; wail, all of you inhabitants of the isle.
23:7 Ist das eure fröhliche Stadt, die sich ihres Alters rühmte? Ihre Füße werden sie wegführen, zu wallen.
23:7 Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her far off to sojourn.
23:8 Wer hätte das gemeint, daß es Tyrus, der Krone, so gehen sollte, so doch ihre Kaufleute Fürsten sind und ihre Krämer die Herrlichsten im Lande?
23:8 Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
23:9 Der HERR Zebaoth hat's also gedacht, auf daß er schwächte alle Pracht der lustigen Stadt und verächtlich machte alle Herrlichen im Lande.
23:9 The LORD of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
23:10 Fahr hin durch dein Land wie ein Strom, du Tochter Tharsis! Da ist kein Gurt mehr.
23:10 Pass through your land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.
23:11 Er reckt seine Hand über das Meer und erschreckt die Königreiche. Der HERR gebeut über Kanaan, zu vertilgen ihre Mächtigen,
23:11 He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD has given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
23:12 und spricht: Du sollst nicht mehr fröhlich sein, du geschändete Jungfrau, du Tochter Sidon! Nach Chittim mache dich auf und zieh fort; doch wirst du daselbst auch nicht Ruhe haben.
23:12 And he said, You shall no more rejoice, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shall you have no rest.
23:13 Siehe, der Chaldäer Land, das nicht ein Volk war, sondern Assur hat es angerichtet, zu schiffen, die haben ihre Türme aufgerichtet und die Paläste niedergerissen; denn sie ist gesetzt, daß sie geschleift werden soll.
23:13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.
23:14 Heulet, ihr Tharsisschiffe! denn eure Macht ist zerstört.
23:14 Wail, all of you ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.
23:15 Zu der Zeit wird Tyrus vergessen werden siebzig Jahre, solange ein König leben mag. Aber nach siebzig Jahren wird es mit Tyrus gehen, wie es im Hurenlied heißt:
23:15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
23:16 Nimm die Harfe, gehe in der Stadt um, du vergessene Hure; mache es gut auf dem Saitenspiel und singe getrost, auf daß dein wieder gedacht werde!
23:16 Take an harp, go about the city, you harlot that have been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
23:17 Denn nach siebzig Jahren wird der HERR Tyrus heimsuchen, daß sie wiederkomme zu ihrem Hurenlohn und Hurerei treibe mit allen Königreichen auf Erden.
23:17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
23:18 Aber ihr Kaufhandel und Hurenlohn werden dem HERRN heilig sein. Man wird sie nicht wie Schätze sammeln noch verbergen; sondern die vor dem HERRN wohnen, werden ihr Kaufgut haben, daß sie essen und satt werden und wohl bekleidet seien.
23:18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

24:1 Siehe, der HERR macht das Land leer und wüst und wirft um, was darin ist, und zerstreut seine Einwohner.
24:1 Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof.
24:2 Und es geht dem Priester wie dem Volk, dem Herrn wie dem Knecht, der Frau wie der Magd, dem Verkäufer wie dem Käufer, dem Leiher wie dem Borger, dem Mahnenden wie dem Schuldner.
24:2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him.
24:3 Denn das Land wird leer und beraubt sein; denn der HERR hat solches geredet.
24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD has spoken this word.
24:4 Das Land steht jämmerlich und verderbt; der Erdboden nimmt ab und verdirbt; die Höchsten des Volks im Lande nehmen ab.
24:4 The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
24:5 Das Land ist entheiligt von seinen Einwohnern; denn sie übertreten das Gesetz und ändern die Gebote und lassen fahren den ewigen Bund.
24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
24:6 Darum frißt der Fluch das Land; denn sie verschulden's, die darin wohnen. Darum verdorren die Einwohner des Landes, also daß wenig Leute übrigbleiben.
24:6 Therefore has the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
24:7 Der Most verschwindet, der Weinstock verschmachtet; und alle, die von Herzen fröhlich waren, seufzen.
24:7 The new wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry hearted do sigh.
24:8 Die Freude der Pauken feiert, das Jauchzen der Fröhlichen ist aus, und die Freude der Harfe hat ein Ende.
24:8 The delight of timbrels ceases, the noise of them that rejoice ends, the joy of the harp ceases.
24:9 Man singt nicht mehr beim Weintrinken, und gutes Getränk ist bitter denen, die es trinken.
24:9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
24:10 Die leere Stadt ist zerbrochen; alle Häuser sind zugeschlossen, daß niemand hineingeht.
24:10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
24:11 Man klagt um den Wein auf den Gassen, daß alle Freude weg ist, alle Wonne des Landes dahin ist.
24:11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the delight of the land is gone.
24:12 Eitel Wüstung ist in der Stadt geblieben, und die Tore stehen öde. {~}
24:12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
24:13 Denn es geht im Lande und im Volk eben, wie wenn ein Ölbaum abgepflückt ist, wie wenn man nachliest, so die Weinernte aus ist.
24:13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.
24:14 Dieselben heben ihre Stimme auf und rühmen und jauchzen vom Meer her über der Herrlichkeit des HERRN.
24:14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
24:15 So preiset nun den HERRN in den Gründen, in den Inseln des Meeres den Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels.
24:15 Wherefore glorify all of you the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.
24:16 Wir hören Lobgesänge vom Ende der Erde zu Ehren dem Gerechten. Und ich muß sagen: Wie bin ich aber so elend! wie bin ich aber so elend! Weh mir! denn es rauben die Räuber, ja immerfort rauben die Räuber.
24:16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
24:17 Darum kommt über euch, Bewohner der Erde, Schrecken, Grube und Strick.
24:17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
24:18 Und ob einer entflöhe vor dem Geschrei des Schreckens, so wird er doch in die Grube fallen; kommt er aus der Grube, so wird er doch im Strick gefangen werden. Denn die Fenster der Höhe sind aufgetan, und die Grundfesten der Erde beben.
24:18 And it shall come to pass, that he who flees from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that comes up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
24:19 Es wird die Erde mit Krachen zerbrechen, zerbersten und zerfallen. {~} {~}
24:19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
24:20 Die Erde wird taumelm wie ein Trunkener und wird hin und her geworfen wie ein Hängebett; denn ihre Missetat drückt sie, daß sie fallen muß und kann nicht stehenbleiben.
24:20 The earth shall reel back and forth like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
24:21 Zu der Zeit wird der HERR heimsuchen das hohe Heer, das in der Höhe ist, und die Könige der Erde, die auf Erden sind,
24:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
24:22 daß sie versammelt werden als Gefangene in die Grube und verschlossen werden im Kerker und nach langer Zeit wieder heimgesucht werden.
24:22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
24:23 Und der Mond wird sich schämen, und die Sonne mit Schanden bestehen, wenn der HERR Zebaoth König sein wird auf dem Berge Zion und zu Jerusalem und vor seinen Ältesten in der Herrlichkeit.
24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

25:1 HERR, du bist mein Gott! dich preise ich; ich lobe deinen Namen, denn du tust Wunder; dein Ratschlüsse von alters her sind treu und wahrhaftig.
25:1 O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
25:2 Denn du machst die Stadt zum Steinhaufen, die feste Stadt, daß sie auf einem Haufen liegt, der Fremden Palast, daß sie nicht mehr eine Stadt sei und nimmermehr gebaut werde.
25:2 For you have made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
25:3 Darum ehrt dich ein mächtiges Volk: die Städte gewaltiger Heiden fürchten dich.
25:3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify you, the city of the terrible nations shall fear you.
25:4 Denn du bist der Geringen Stärke, der Armen Stärke in der Trübsal, eine Zuflucht vor dem Ungewitter, ein Schatten vor der Hitze, wenn die Tyrannen wüten wie ein Ungewitter wider eine Wand.
25:4 For you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
25:5 Du demütigst der Fremden Ungestüm wie die Hitze in einem dürren Ort; wie die Hitze durch der Wolken Schatten, so wird gedämpft der Tyrannen Siegesgesang.
25:5 You shall bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
25:6 Und der HERR Zebaoth wird allen Völkern machen auf diesem Berge ein fettes Mahl, ein Mahl von reinem Wein, von Fett, von Mark, von Wein, darin keine Hefe ist.
25:6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the sediments of wine, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the sediments of wine well refined.
25:7 Und er wird auf diesem Berge die Hülle wegtun, damit alle Völker verhüllt sind, und die Decke, mit der alle Heiden zugedeckt sind.
25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
25:8 Er wird den Tod verschlingen ewiglich; und der HERR HERR wird die Tränen von allen Angesichtern abwischen und wird aufheben alle Schmach seines Volks in allen Landen; denn der HERR hat's gesagt.
25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it.
25:9 Zu der Zeit wird man sagen: Siehe, das ist unser Gott, auf den wir harren, und er wird uns helfen; das ist der HERR auf den wir harren, daß wir uns freuen und fröhlich seien in seinem Heil.
25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
25:10 Denn die Hand des HERRN ruht auf diesem Berge. Moab aber wird unter ihm zertreten werden, wie Stroh zertreten wird und wie Kot.
25:10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
25:11 Und er wird seine Hände ausbreiten mitten unter sie, wie sie ein Schwimmer ausbreitet, zu schwimmen; und wird ihre Pracht erniedrigen mit den Armen seiner Hände
25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swins spreads forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
25:12 und die hohen Festen eurer Mauern beugen, erniedrigen und in den Staub zu Boden werfen.
25:12 And the fortress of the high fort of your walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

26:1 Zu der Zeit wird man ein solch Lied singen im Lande Juda: Wir haben eine feste Stadt, Mauern und Wehre sind Heil.
26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
26:2 Tut die Tore auf, daß hereingehe das gerechte Volk, das den Glauben bewahrt!
26:2 Open all of you the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.
26:3 Du erhältst stets Frieden nach gewisser Zusage; denn man verläßt sich auf dich.
26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.
26:4 Verlasset euch auf den HERRN ewiglich; denn Gott der HERR ist ein Fels ewiglich.
26:4 Trust all of you in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
26:5 Und er bewegt die, so in der Höhe wohnen; die hohe Stadt erniedrigt er, ja er stößt sie zur Erde, daß sie im Staube liegt,
26:5 For he brings down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he lays it low; he lays it low, even to the ground; he brings it even to the dust.
26:6 daß sie mit Füßen zertreten wird, ja mit Füßen der Armen, mit Fersen der Geringen.
26:6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
26:7 Aber des Gerechten Weg ist schlicht; den Steig des Gerechten machst du richtig.
26:7 The way of the just is uprightness: you, most upright, do weigh the path of the just.
26:8 Denn wir warten auf dich, HERR, im Wege deiner Rechte; des Herzens Lust steht zu deinem Namen und deinem Gedächtnis.
26:8 Yea, in the way of your judgments, O LORD, have we waited for you; the desire of our soul is to your name, and to the remembrance of you.
26:9 Von Herzen begehre ich dein des Nachts; dazu mit meinem Geist in mir wache ich früh zu dir. Denn wo dein Recht im Lande geht, so lernen die Bewohner des Erdbodens Gerechtigkeit.
26:9 With my soul have I desired you in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
26:10 Aber wenn den Gottlosen Gnade widerfährt, so lernen sie nicht Gerechtigkeit, sondern tun nur übel im richtigen Lande, denn sie sehen des HERRN Herrlichkeit nicht.
26:10 Let favour be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
26:11 HERR, deine Hand ist erhöht; das sehen sie nicht. Wenn sie aber sehen werden den Eifer um dein Volk, so werden sie zu Schanden werden; dazu wirst du sie mit Feuer, damit du deine Feinde verzehrst, verzehren.
26:11 LORD, when your hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of yours enemies shall devour them.
26:12 Aber uns, HERR, wirst du Frieden schaffen; denn alles, was wir ausrichten, das hast du uns gegeben.
26:12 LORD, you will ordain peace for us: for you also have wrought all our works in us.
26:13 HERR, unser Gott, es herrschen wohl andere Herren über uns denn du; aber wir gedenken doch allein dein und deines Namens.
26:13 O LORD our God, other lords beside you have had dominion over us: but by you only will we make mention of your name.
26:14 Die Toten werden nicht lebendig, die Verstorbenen stehen nicht auf; denn du hast sie heimgesucht und vertilgt, und zunichte gemacht all ihr Gedächtnis.
26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore have you visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
26:15 Aber du, HERR, fährst fort unter den Heiden, du fährst immer fort unter den Heiden, beweisest deine Herrlichkeit und kommst ferne bis an der Welt Enden.
26:15 You have increased the nation, O LORD, you have increased the nation: you are glorified: you had removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.
26:16 HERR, wenn Trübsal da ist, so sucht man dich; wenn du sie züchtigst, so rufen sie ängstlich.
26:16 LORD, in trouble have they visited you, they poured out a prayer when your chastening was upon them.
26:17 Gleichwie eine Schwangere, wenn sie bald gebären soll, sich ängstet und schreit in ihren Schmerzen: so geht's auch, HERR, vor deinem Angesicht.
26:17 Like a woman with child, that draws near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in your sight, O LORD.
26:18 Da sind wir auch schwanger und ist uns bange, daß wir kaum Odem holen; doch können wir dem Lande nicht helfen, und Einwohner auf dem Erdboden wollen nicht geboren werden.
26:18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
26:19 Aber deine Toten werden leben, meine Leichname werden auferstehen. Wachet auf und rühmet, die ihr liegt unter der Erde! Denn dein Tau ist ein Tau des grünen Feldes; aber das Land der Toten wirst du stürzen.
26:19 Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, all of you that dwell in dust: for your dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
26:20 Gehe hin, mein Volk, in deine Kammer und schließ die Tür nach dir zu; verbirg dich einen kleinen Augenblick, bis der Zorn vorübergehe.
26:20 Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation pass over.
26:21 Denn siehe, der HERR wird ausgehen von seinem Ort, heimzusuchen die Bosheit der Einwohner des Landes über sie, daß das Land wird offenbaren ihr Blut und nicht weiter verhehlen, die darin erwürgt sind.
26:21 For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

27:1 Zu der Zeit wird der HERR heimsuchen mit seinem harten, großen und starken Schwert beide, den Leviathan, der eine flüchtige Schlange, und den Leviathan, der eine gewundene Schlange ist, und wird den Drachen im Meer erwürgen.
27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan (p. sea serpent) the piercing serpent, even leviathan (p. sea serpent) that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
27:2 Zu der Zeit wird man singen von dem Weinberge des besten Weins:
27:2 In that day sing all of you unto her, A vineyard of red wine.
27:3 Ich, der HERR, behüte ihn und feuchte ihn bald, daß man seine Blätter nicht vermisse; ich will ihn Tag und Nacht behüten.
27:3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.
27:4 Gott zürnt nicht mit mir. Ach, daß ich möchte mit den Hecken und Dornen kriegen! so wollte ich unter sie fallen und sie auf einen Haufen anstecken.
27:4 Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.
27:5 Er wird mich erhalten bei meiner Kraft und wird mir Frieden schaffen; Frieden wird er mir dennoch schaffen.
27:5 Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.
27:6 Es wird dennoch dazu kommen, daß Jakob wurzeln und Israel blühen und grünen wird, daß sie den Erdboden mit Früchten erfüllen.
27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
27:7 Wird er doch nicht geschlagen, wie seine Feinde geschlagen werden, und wird nicht erwürgt, wie seine Feinde erwürgt werden;
27:7 Has he smitten him, as he stroke those that stroke him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
27:8 sondern mit Maßen richtest du sie und lässest sie los, wenn du sie betrübt hast mit deinem rauhen Sturm am Tage des Ostwinds.
27:8 In measure, when it shoots forth, you will debate with it: he stays his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
27:9 Darum wird dadurch die Sünde Jakobs versöhnt werden; und der Nutzen davon, daß seine Sünden weggenommen werden, ist der, daß er alle Altarsteine macht wie zerstoßene Kalksteine, daß keine Ascherabilder noch Sonnensäulen mehr bleiben.
27:9 By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he makes all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in two, the groves and images shall not stand up.
27:10 Denn die feste Stadt muß einsam werden, die schönen Häuser verödet und verlassen werden wie eine Wüste, daß Kälber daselbst weiden und ruhen und daselbst Reiser abfressen.
27:10 Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
27:11 Ihre Zweige werden vor Dürre brechen, daß die Weiber kommen und Feuer damit machen werden; denn es ist ein unverständiges Volk. Darum wird sich auch ihrer nicht erbarmen, der sie gemacht hat; und der sie geschaffen hat, wird ihnen nicht gnädig sein.
27:11 When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will show them no favour.
27:12 Zu der Zeit wird der HERR worfeln von dem Ufer des Stromes bis an den Bach Ägyptens; und ihr, Kinder Israel, werdet versammelt werden, einer nach dem andern.
27:12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and all of you shall be gathered one by one, O all of you children of Israel.
27:13 Zu der Zeit wird man mit einer großen Posaune blasen; so werden kommen die Verlorenen im Lande Assur und die Verstoßenen im Lande Ägypten und werden den HERRN anbeten auf dem heiligen Berge zu Jerusalem.
27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

28:1 Weh der prächtigen Krone der Trunkenen von Ephraim, der welken Blume ihrer lieblichen Herrlichkeit, welche steht oben über einem fetten Tal derer, die vom Wein taumeln!
28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
28:2 Siehe, ein Starker und Mächtiger vom HERRN wie ein Hagelsturm, wie ein schädliches Wetter, wie ein Wassersturm, der mächtig einreißt, wirft sie zu Boden mit Gewalt,
28:2 Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
28:3 daß die prächtige Krone der Trunkenen von Ephraim mit Füßen zertreten wird.
28:3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:
28:4 Und die welke Blume ihrer lieblichen Herrlichkeit, welche steht oben über einem fetten Tal, wird sein gleichwie die Frühfeige vor dem Sommer, welche einer ersieht und flugs aus der Hand verschlingt.
28:4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looks upon it sees, while it is yet in his hand he eats it up.
28:5 Zu der Zeit wird der HERR Zebaoth sein eine liebliche Krone und ein herrlicher Kranz den Übriggebliebenen seines Volks
28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
28:6 und ein Geist des Rechts dem, der zu Gericht sitzt, und eine Stärke denen, die den Streit zurücktreiben zum Tor.
28:6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sits in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
28:7 Aber auch diese sind vom Wein toll geworden und taumeln von starkem Getränk. Beide, Priester und Propheten, sind toll von starkem Getränk, sind in Wein ersoffen und taumeln von starkem Getränk; sie sind toll beim Weissagen und wanken beim Rechtsprechen.
28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they go astray in vision, they stumble in judgment.
28:8 Denn alle Tische sind voll Speiens und Unflats an allen Orten.
28:8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
28:9 "Wen, sagen sie, will er denn lehren Erkenntnis? wem will er zu verstehen geben die Predigt? Den Entwöhnten von der Milch, denen, die von Brüsten abgesetzt sind?
28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
28:10 Gebeut hin, gebeut her; tue dies, tue das; harre hier, harre da; warte hier, warte da; hier ein wenig, da ein wenig!"
28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
28:11 Wohlan, er wird einmal mit unverständlichen Lippen und mit einer andern Zunge reden zu diesem Volk, welchem jetzt dies gepredigt wird:
28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
28:12 "So hat man Ruhe, so erquickt man die Müden, so wird man still"; und sie wollen doch solche Predigt nicht.
28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith all of you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
28:13 Darum soll ihnen auch des HERRN Wort eben also werden: Gebeut hin, gebeut her; tut dies, tut das; harre hier, harre da; warte hier, warte da; hier ein wenig, da ein wenig, daß sie hingehen und zurückfallen, zerbrechen, verstrickt und gefangen werden.
28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
28:14 So höret nun des HERRN Wort, ihr Spötter, die ihr herrschet über dies Volk, das zu Jerusalem ist.
28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
28:15 Denn ihr sprecht: Wir haben mit dem Tod einen Bund und mit der Hölle einen Vertag gemacht; wenn eine Flut dahergeht, wird sie uns nicht treffen; denn wir haben die Lüge zu unsrer Zuflucht und Heuchelei zu unserm Schirm gemacht. {~} {~}
28:15 Because all of you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
28:16 Darum spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich lege in Zion einen Grundstein, einen bewährten Stein, einen köstlichen Eckstein, der wohl gegründet ist. Wer glaubt, der flieht nicht.
28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.
28:17 Und ich will das Recht zur Richtschnur und die Gerechtigkeit zum Gericht machen; so wird der Hagel die falsche Zuflucht wegtreiben, und Wasser sollen den Schirm wegschwemmen,
28:17 Judgment also will I apply to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
28:18 daß euer Bund mit dem Tode los werde und euer Vertrag mit der Hölle nicht bestehe. Und wenn eine Flut dahergeht, wird sie euch zertreten; sobald sie dahergeht, wird sie euch wegnehmen.
28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then all of you shall be trodden down by it.
28:19 Kommt sie des Morgens, so geschieht's des Morgens; also auch, sie komme des Tags oder des Nachts. Denn allein die Anfechtung lehrt aufs Wort merken.
28:19 From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
28:20 Denn das Bett ist so eng, daß nichts übrig ist, und die Decke so kurz, daß man sich drein schmiegen muß.
28:20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
28:21 Denn der HERR wird sich aufmachen wie auf dem Berge Perazim und zürnen wie im Tal Gibeon, daß er sein Werk vollbringe auf eine fremde Weise und daß er seine Arbeit tue auf seltsame Weise.
28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
28:22 So lasset nun euer Spotten, auf daß eure Bande nicht härter werden; denn ich habe ein Verderben gehört, das vom HERRN HERRN Zebaoth beschlossen ist über alle Welt.
28:22 Now therefore be all of you not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
28:23 Nehmet zu Ohren und höret meine Stimme; merket auf und höret meine Rede:
28:23 Give all of you ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
28:24 Pflügt zur Saat oder bracht oder eggt auch ein Ackermann seinen Acker immerdar?
28:24 Does the plowman plow all day to sow? does he open and break the clods of his ground?
28:25 Ist's nicht also: wenn er's gleich gemacht hat, so streut er Wicken und wirft Kümmel und sät Weizen und Gerste, jegliches, wohin er's haben will, und Spelt an seinen Ort?
28:25 When he has made plain the face thereof, does he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the spelt in their place?
28:26 Also unterwies ihn sein Gott zum Rechten und lehrte ihn.
28:26 For his God does instruct him to discretion, and does teach him.
28:27 Denn man drischt die Wicken nicht mit Dreschwagen, so läßt man auch nicht das Wagenrad über den Kümmel gehen; sondern die Wicken schlägt man aus mit einem Stabe und den Kümmel mit einem Stecken.
28:27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
28:28 Man mahlt es, daß es Brot werde, und drischt es nicht gar zunichte, wenn man's mit Wagenrädern und Pferden ausdrischt.
28:28 Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
28:29 Solches geschieht auch vom HERRN Zebaoth; denn sein Rat ist wunderbar, und er führt es herrlich hinaus.
28:29 This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.

29:1 Weh Ariel, Ariel, du Stadt des Lagers Davids! Füget Jahr zu Jahr und feiert die Feste;
29:1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add all of you year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
29:2 dann will ich den Ariel ängsten, daß er traurig und voll Jammers sei; und er soll mir ein rechter Ariel sein.
29:2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
29:3 Denn ich will dich belagern ringsumher und will dich ängsten mit Bollwerk und will Wälle um dich aufführen lassen.
29:3 And I will camp against you round about, and will lay siege against you with a mount, and I will raise forts against you.
29:4 Alsdann sollst du erniedrigt werden und aus der Erde reden und aus dem Staube mit deiner Rede murmeln, daß deine Stimme sei wie eines Zauberers aus der Erde und deine Rede aus dem Staube wispele.
29:4 And you shall be brought down, and shall speak out of the ground, and your speech shall be low out of the dust, and your voice shall be, as of one that has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech shall whisper out of the dust.
29:5 Aber die Menge deiner Feinde soll werden wie dünner Staub und die Menge der Tyrannen wie wehende Spreu; und das soll plötzlich unversehens geschehen.
29:5 Moreover the multitude of your strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
29:6 Denn vom HERRN Zebaoth wird Heimsuchung geschehen mit Wetter und Erdbeben und großem Donner, mit Windwirbel und Ungewitter und mit Flammen des verzehrenden Feuers.
29:6 You shall be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
29:7 Und wie ein Nachtgesicht im Traum, so soll sein die Menge aller Heiden, die wider Ariel streiten, samt allem Heer und Bollwerk, und die ihn ängsten. {~}
29:7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her stronghold, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
29:8 Denn gleichwie einem Hungrigen träumt, daß er esse, wenn er aber aufwacht, so ist seine Seele noch leer; und wie einem Durstigen träumt, daß er trinke, wenn er aber aufwacht, ist er matt und durstig: also soll sein die Menge aller Heiden, die wider den Berg Zion streiten.
29:8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreams, and, behold, he eats; but he awakes, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreams, and, behold, he drinks; but he awakes, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul has appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
29:9 Erstarret und werdet bestürzt, verblendet euch und werdet blind! Werdet trunken, doch nicht vom Wein, taumelt, doch nicht von starkem Getränk!
29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry all of you out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
29:10 Denn der HERR hat euch einen Geist des harten Schlafs eingeschenkt und eure Augen zugetan; eure Propheten und Fürsten samt den Sehern hat er verhüllt,
29:10 For the LORD has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers has he covered.
29:11 daß euch aller Propheten Gesichte sein werden wie die Worte eines versiegelten Buches, welches man gäbe einem, der lesen kann, und spräche: Lies doch das! und er spräche: Ich kann nicht, denn es ist versiegelt;
29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray you: and he says, I cannot; for it is sealed:
29:12 oder gleich als wenn man's gäbe dem, der nicht lesen kann, und spräche: Lies doch das! und er spräche: Ich kann nicht lesen.
29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray you: and he says, I am not learned.
29:13 Und der HERR spricht: Darum daß dies Volk zu mir naht mit seinem Munde und mit seinen Lippen mich ehrt, aber ihr Herz fern von mir ist und sie mich fürchten nach Menschengeboten, die sie lehren:
29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
29:14 so will ich auch mit diesem Volk wunderlich umgehen, aufs wunderlichste und seltsamste, daß die Weisheit seiner Weisen untergehe und der Verstand seiner Klugen verblendet werde.
29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
29:15 Weh, die verborgen sein wollen vor dem HERRN, ihr Vornehmen zu verhehlen, und ihr Tun im Finstern halten und sprechen: Wer sieht uns, und wer kennt uns?
29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us? and who knows us?
29:16 Wie seid ihr so verkehrt! Gleich als wenn des Töpfers Ton gedächte und ein Werk spräche von seinem Meister: Er hat mich nicht gemacht! und ein Gemächte spräche von seinem Töpfer: Er kennt mich nicht!
29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
29:17 Wohlan, es ist noch um ein klein wenig zu tun, so soll der Libanon ein Feld werden, und das Feld soll wie ein Wald geachtet werden.
29:17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
29:18 Und zu derselben Zeit werden die Tauben hören die Worte des Buches, und die Augen der Blinden werden aus Dunkel und Finsternis sehen,
29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
29:19 und die Elenden werden wieder Freude haben am HERRN, und die Armen unter den Menschen werden fröhlich sein in dem Heiligen Israels,
29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
29:20 wenn die Tyrannen ein Ende haben und es mit den Spöttern aus sein wird und vertilgt sein werden alle die, so wachen, Mühsal anzurichten,
29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nothing, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
29:21 welche die Leute sündigen machen durchs Predigen und stellen dem nach, der sie straft im Tor, und stürzen durch Lügen den Gerechten.
29:21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproves in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nothing.
29:22 Darum spricht der HERR, der Abraham erlöst hat, zum Hause Jakob also: Jakob soll nicht mehr zu Schanden werden, und sein Antlitz soll sich nicht mehr schämen.
29:22 Therefore thus says the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
29:23 Denn wenn sie sehen werden ihre Kinder, die Werke meiner Hände unter ihnen, werden sie meinen Namen heiligen und werden den Heiligen in Jakob heiligen und den Gott Israels fürchten.
29:23 But when he sees his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
29:24 Denn die, so irrigen Geist haben, werden Verstand annehmen, und die Schwätzer werden sich lehren lassen.
29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

30:1 Weh den abtrünnigen Kindern, spricht der HERR, die ohne mich ratschlagen und ohne meinen Geist Schutz suchen, zu Häufen eine Sünde über die andere;
30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
30:2 die hinabziehen nach Ägypten und fragen meinen Mund nicht, daß sie sich stärken mit der Macht Pharaos und sich beschirmen unter dem Schatten Ägyptens!
30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
30:3 Denn es soll euch die Stärke Pharaos zur Schande geraten und der Schutz unter dem Schatten Ägyptens zum Hohn.
30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
30:4 Ihre Fürsten sind wohl zu Zoan gewesen und ihre Botschafter gen Hanes gekommen;
30:4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
30:5 aber sie müssen doch alle zu Schanden werden über dem Volk, das ihnen nicht nütze sein kann, weder zur Hilfe noch sonst zu Nutz, sondern nur zu Schande und Spott.
30:5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
30:6 Dies ist die Last über die Tiere, so gegen Mittag ziehen, da Löwen und Löwinnen sind, ja Ottern und feurige fliegende Drachen im Lande der Trübsal und Angst. Sie führen ihr Gut auf der Füllen Rücken und ihre Schätze auf der Kamele Höcker zu dem Volk, das ihnen nicht nütze sein kann.
30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
30:7 Denn Ägypten ist nichts, und ihr Helfen ist vergeblich. Darum sage ich von Ägypten also: Die Rahab wird still dazu sitzen.
30:7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
30:8 So gehe nun hin und schreib es ihnen vor auf eine Tafel und zeichne es in ein Buch, daß es bleibe für und für ewiglich. {~}
30:8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
30:9 Denn es ist ein ungehorsames Volk und verlogene Kinder, die nicht hören wollen des HERRN Gesetz,
30:9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
30:10 sondern sagen zu den Sehern: Ihr sollt nichts sehen! und zu den Schauern: Ihr sollt uns nicht schauen die rechte Lehre; prediget uns aber sanft, schauet uns Täuscherei;
30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
30:11 weichet vom Wege, gehet aus der Bahn; lasset den Heiligen Israels aufhören bei uns!
30:11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
30:12 Darum spricht der Heilige Israels also: Weil ihr dies Wort verwerft und verlaßt euch auf Frevel und Mutwillen und trotzt darauf,
30:12 Wherefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, Because all of you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
30:13 so soll euch solche Untugend sein wie ein Riß an einer hohen Mauer, wenn es beginnt zu rieseln, die plötzlich unversehens einfällt und zerschmettert,
30:13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.
30:14 wie wenn ein Topf zerschmettert würde, den man zerstößt und nicht schont, also daß man von seinen Stücken nicht eine Scherbe findet, darin man Feuer hole vom Herd oder Wasser schöpfe aus einem Brunnen.
30:14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a potsherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water likewise out of the pit.
30:15 Denn so spricht der HERR HERR, der Heilige in Israel: Wenn ihr umkehrtet und stillebliebet, so würde euch geholfen; durch Stillesein und Hoffen würdet ihr stark sein. Aber ihr wollt nicht
30:15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall all of you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and all of you would not.
30:16 und sprecht: "Nein, sondern auf Rossen wollen wir fliehen", darum werdet ihr flüchtig sein, "und auf Rennern wollen wir reiten", darum werden euch eure Verfolger übereilen.
30:16 But all of you said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall all of you flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
30:17 Denn euer tausend werden fliehen vor eines einzigen Schelten; ja vor fünfen werdet ihr alle fliehen, bis daß ihr übrigbleibet wie ein Mastbaum oben auf einem Berge und wie ein Panier oben auf einem Hügel.
30:17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall all of you flee: till all of you be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an explicit sign on an hill.
30:18 Darum harret der HERR, daß er euch gnädig sei, und hat sich aufgemacht, daß er sich euer erbarme; denn der HERR ist ein Gott des Gerichts. Wohl allen, die sein harren!
30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
30:19 Denn das Volk Zions wird zu Jerusalem wohnen. Du wirst nicht weinen: er wird dir gnädig sein, wenn du rufst; er wird dir antworten, sobald er's hört. {~}
30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no more: he will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer you.
30:20 Und der HERR wird euch in Trübsal Brot und in Ängsten Wasser geben. Und deine Lehrer werden sich nicht mehr verbergen müssen; sondern deine Augen werden deine Lehrer sehen,
30:20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be removed into a corner any more, but yours eyes shall see your teachers:
30:21 und deine Ohren werden hören hinter dir her das Wort sagen also: dies ist der Weg; den gehet, sonst weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken!
30:21 And yours ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk all of you in it, when all of you turn to the right hand, and when all of you turn to the left.
30:22 Und ihr werdet entweihem eure übersilberten Götzen und die goldenen Kleider eurer Bilder und werdet sie wegwerfen wie einen Unflat und zu ihnen sagen: Hinaus!
30:22 All of you shall defile also the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold: you shall cast them away as a menstruous cloth; you shall say unto it, Get you behind.
30:23 So wird er deinen Samen, den du auf den Acker gesät hast, Regen geben und Brot von des Ackers Ertrag, und desselben volle Genüge. Und dein Vieh wird zu der Zeit weiden in einer weiten Aue.
30:23 Then shall he give the rain of your seed, that you shall sow the ground likewise; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and abundant: in that day shall your cattle feed in large pastures.
30:24 Die Ochsen und Füllen, so den Acker bauen, werden gemengtes Futter essen, welches geworfelt ist mit der Wurfschaufel und Wanne.
30:24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean animal food, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
30:25 Und es werden auf allen großen Bergen und auf allen großen Hügeln zerteilte Wasserströme gehen zur Zeit der großen Schlacht, wenn die Türme fallen werden.
30:25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
30:26 Und des Mondes Schein wird sein wie der Sonne Schein, und der Sonne Schein wird siebenmal heller sein denn jetzt, zu der Zeit, wenn der HERR den Schaden seines Volks verbinden und seine Wunden heilen wird.
30:26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the breach of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound.
30:27 Siehe, des HERRN Name kommt von fern! Sein Zorn brennt und ist sehr schwer; seine Lippen sind voll Grimm und seine Zunge wie ein verzehrend Feuer,
30:27 Behold, the name of the LORD comes from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
30:28 und sein Odem wie eine Wasserflut, die bis an den Hals reicht: zu zerstreuen die Heiden, bis sie zunichte werden, und er wird die Völker mit einem Zaum in ihren Backen hin und her treiben.
30:28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to go astray.
30:29 Da werdet ihr singen wie in der Nacht eines heiligen Festes und euch von Herzen freuen, wie wenn man mit Flötenspiel geht zum Berge des HERRN, zum Hort Israels.
30:29 All of you shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
30:30 Und der HERR wird seine herrliche Stimme erschallen lassen, daß man sehe seinen ausgereckten Arm mit zornigem Dräuen und mit Flammen des verzehrenden Feuers, mit Wetterstrahlen, mit starkem Regen und mit Hagel.
30:30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
30:31 Denn Assur wird erschrecken vor der Stimme des HERRN, der ihn mit der Rute schlägt.
30:31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which stroke with a rod.
30:32 Und es wird die Rute ganz durchdringen und wohl treffen, wenn sie der HERR über ihn führen wird mit Pauken und Harfen, und allenthalben wider sie streiten.
30:32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with timbrels and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
30:33 Denn die Grube ist von gestern her zugerichtet; ja sie ist auch dem König bereitet, tief und weit genug; der Scheiterhaufen darin hat Feuer und Holz die Menge. Der Odem des HERRN wird ihn anzünden wie ein Schwefelstrom.
30:33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he has made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, does kindle it.

31:1 Weh denen, die hinabziehen nach Ägypten um Hilfe und verlassen sich auf Rosse und hoffen auf Wagen, daß ihrer viel sind, und auf Reiter, darum daß sie sehr stark sind, und halten sich nicht zum Heiligen in Israel und fragen nichts nach dem HERRN!
31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
31:2 Er aber ist weise und bringt Unglück herzu und wendet seine Worte nicht, sondern wird sich aufmachen wider das Haus der Bösen und wider die Hilfe der Übeltäter.
31:2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
31:3 Denn Ägypten ist Mensch und nicht Gott, und ihre Rosse sind Fleisch und nicht Geist. Und der HERR wird seine Hand ausrecken, daß der Helfer strauchle und der, dem geholfen wird, falle und alle miteinander umkommen.
31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
31:4 Denn so spricht der HERR zu mir: Gleichwie ein Löwe und ein junger Löwe brüllt über seinen Raub, wenn der Hirten Menge ihn anschreit, so erschrickt er vor ihrem Geschrei nicht und ist ihm auch nicht leid vor ihrer Menge: also wird der HERR Zebaoth herniederfahren, zu streiten auf dem Berge Zion und auf seinem Hügel.
31:4 For thus has the LORD spoken unto me, Like the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor bring low himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
31:5 Und der HERR Zebaoth wird Jerusalem beschirmen, wie die Vögel tun mit Flügeln, schützen, erretten, darin umgehen und aushelfen.
31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
31:6 Kehret um, ihr Kinder Israel, zu dem, von welchem ihr sehr abgewichen seid!
31:6 Turn all of you unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
31:7 Denn zu der Zeit wird ein jeglicher seine silbernen und goldenen Götzen verwerfen, welche euch eure Hände gemacht hatten zur Sünde.
31:7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
31:8 Und Assur soll fallen, nicht durch Mannes-Schwert, und soll verzehrt werden, nicht durch Menschen-Schwert, und wird doch vor dem Schwert fliehen, und seine junge Mannschaft wird zinsbar werden.
31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be humiliated.
31:9 Und sein Fels wird vor Furcht wegziehen, und seine Fürsten werden vor dem Panier die Flucht geben, spricht der HERR, der zu Zion Feuer und zu Jerusalem einen Herd hat.
31:9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the explicit sign, says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

32:1 Siehe, es wird ein König regieren, Gerechtigkeit anzurichten, und Fürsten werden herrschen, das Recht zu handhaben,
32:1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
32:2 daß ein jeglicher unter ihnen sein wird wie eine Zuflucht vor dem Wind und wie ein Schirm vor dem Platzregen, wie die Wasserbäche am dürren Ort, wie der Schatten eines großen Felsen im trockenen Lande.
32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
32:3 Und der Sehenden Augen werden sich nicht blenden lassen, und die Ohren der Zuhörer werden aufmerken,
32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
32:4 und die Unvorsichtigen werden Klugheit lernen, und der Stammelnden Zunge wird fertig und reinlich reden.
32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
32:5 Es wird nicht mehr ein Narr Fürst heißen noch ein Geiziger Herr genannt werden.
32:5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
32:6 Denn ein Narr redet von Narrheit, und sein Herz geht mit Unglück um, daß er Heuchelei anrichte und predige vom HERRN Irrsal, damit er die hungrigen Seelen aushungere und den Durstigen das Trinken wehre.
32:6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
32:7 Und des Geizigen Regieren ist eitel Schaden; denn er erfindet Tücke, zu verderben die Elenden mit falschen Worten, wenn er des Armen Recht reden soll.
32:7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.
32:8 Aber die Fürsten werden fürstliche Gedanken haben und darüber halten.
32:8 But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
32:9 Stehet auf, ihr stolzen Frauen, höret meine Stimme! ihr Töchter, die ihr so sicher seid, nehmt zu Ohren meine Rede!
32:9 Rise up, all of you women that are at ease; hear my voice, all of you careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
32:10 Es ist um Jahr und Tag zu tun, so werdet ihr Sicheren zittern; denn es wird keine Weinernte, so wird auch kein Lesen werden.
32:10 Many days and years shall all of you be troubled, all of you careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
32:11 Erschreckt, ihr stolzen Frauen, zittert, ihr Sicheren! es ist vorhanden Ausziehen, Blößen und Gürten um die Lenden.
32:11 Tremble, all of you women that are at ease; be troubled, all of you careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
32:12 Man wird klagen um die Äcker, ja um die lieblichen Äcker, um die fruchtbaren Weinstöcke.
32:12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
32:13 Denn es werden auf dem Acker meines Volkes Dornen und Hecken wachsen, dazu über allen Häusern der Freude in der fröhlichen Stadt.
32:13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
32:14 Denn die Paläste werden verlassen sein und die Stadt, die voll Getümmel war, einsam sein, daß die Türme und Festen ewige Höhlen werden und dem Wild zur Freude, den Herden zur Weide,
32:14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
32:15 bis so lange, daß über uns ausgegossen wird der Geist aus der Höhe. So wird dann die Wüste zum Acker werden und der Acker wie ein Wald geachtet werden.
32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
32:16 Und das Recht wird in der Wüste wohnen und Gerechtigkeit auf dem Acker hausen,
32:16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
32:17 und der Gerechtigkeit Frucht wird Friede sein, und der Gerechtigkeit Nutzen wird ewige Stille und Sicherheit sein,
32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
32:18 daß mein Volk in Häusern des Friedens wohnen wird, in sicheren Wohnungen und in stolzer Ruhe.
32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
32:19 Aber Hagel wird sein den Wald hinab, und die Stadt danieden wird niedrig sein.
32:19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
32:20 Wohl euch, die ihr säet allenthalben an den Wassern und die Füße der Ochsen und Esel frei gehen lasset!
32:20 Blessed are all of you that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.

33:1 Weh aber dir, du Verstörer! Meinst du, du wirst nicht verstört werden? Und du Räuber? meinst du man werde dich nicht berauben? Wenn du das Verstören vollendet hast, so wirst du auch verstört werden; wenn du des Raubens ein Ende gemacht hast, so wird man dich wieder berauben.
33:1 Woe to you that spoil, and you were not spoiled; and deal treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with you! when you shall cease to spoil, you shall be spoiled; and when you shall make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with you.
33:2 HERR, sei uns gnädig, denn auf dich harren wir; sei ihr Arm alle Morgen, dazu unser Heil zur Zeit der Trübsal!
33:2 O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for you: be you their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
33:3 Laß fliehen die Völker vor dem großen Getümmel und die Heiden zerstreut werden, wenn du dich erhebst.
33:3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of yourself the nations were scattered.
33:4 Da wird man euch aufraffen wie einen Raub, wie man die Heuschrecken aufrafft und wie die Käfer zerscheucht werden, wenn man sie überfällt.
33:4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running back and forth of locusts shall he run upon them.
33:5 Der HERR ist erhaben; denn er wohnt in der Höhe. Er hat Zion voll Gericht und Gerechtigkeit gemacht.
33:5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwells on high: he has filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
33:6 Und es wird zu deiner Zeit Glaube sein, Reichtum an Heil, Weisheit und Klugheit; die Furcht des HERRN wird sein Schatz sein.
33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
33:7 Siehe, ihre Helden schreien draußen, die Boten des Friedens weinen bitterlich.
33:7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
33:8 Die Steige ist wüst; es geht niemand mehr auf der Straße. Er hält weder Treue noch Glauben; er verwirft die Städte und achtet der Leute nicht.
33:8 The highways lie waste, the travelling man ceases: he has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, he regards no man.
33:9 Das Land liegt kläglich und jämmerlich, der Libanon steht schändlich zerhauen, und Saron ist wie eine Wüste, und Basan und Karmel ist öde.
33:9 The earth mourns and languishes: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
33:10 Nun will ich mich aufmachen, spricht der HERR; nun will ich mich emporrichten, nun will ich mich erheben.
33:10 Now will I rise, says the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
33:11 Mit Stroh gehet ihr schwanger, Stoppeln gebäret ihr; Feuer wird euch mit eurem Mut verzehren.
33:11 All of you shall conceive chaff, all of you shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
33:12 Und die Völker werden zu Kalk verbrannt werden, wie man abgehauene Dornen mit Feuer ansteckt.
33:12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
33:13 So höret nun ihr, die ihr ferne seid, was ich getan habe; und die ihr nahe seid, merket meine Stärke.
33:13 Hear, all of you that are far off, what I have done; and, all of you that are near, acknowledge my might.
33:14 Die Sünder zu Zion sind erschrocken, Zittern ist die Heuchler angekommen und sie sprechen: Wer ist unter uns, der bei einem verzehrenden Feuer wohnen möge? wer ist unter uns, der bei der ewigen Glut wohne?
33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
33:15 Wer in Gerechtigkeit wandelt und redet, was recht ist; wer Unrecht haßt samt dem Geiz und seine Hände abzieht, daß er nicht Geschenke nehme; wer seine Ohren zustopft, daß er nicht Blutschulden höre, und seine Augen zuhält, daß er nichts Arges sehe:
33:15 He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppressions, that shakes his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;
33:16 der wird in der Höhe wohnen, und Felsen werden seine Feste und Schutz sein. Sein Brot wird ihm gegeben, sein Wasser hat er gewiß.
33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
33:17 Deine Augen werden den König sehen in seiner Schöne; du wirst das Land erweitert sehen,
33:17 Yours eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
33:18 daß sich dein Herz sehr verwundern wird und sagen: Wo sind nun die Schreiber? Wo sind die Vögte? wo sind die, so die Türme zählten?
33:18 Yours heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
33:19 Du wirst das starke Volk nicht mehr sehen, das Volk von tiefer Sprache, die man nicht vernehmen kann, und von undeutlicher Zunge, die man nicht verstehen kann.
33:19 You shall not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than you can perceive; of a stammering tongue, that you can not understand.
33:20 Schaue Zion, die Stadt unsrer Feste! Deine Augen werden Jerusalem sehen, eine sichere Wohnung, eine Hütte, die nicht weggeführt wird; ihre Nägel sollen nimmermehr ausgezogen und ihrer Seile sollen nimmermehr zerrissen werden.
33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: yours eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
33:21 Denn der HERR wird mächtig daselbst bei uns sein, gleich als wären da weite Wassergräben, darüber kein Schiff mit Rudern fahren noch Galeeren schiffen können.
33:21 But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
33:22 Denn der HERR ist unser Richter, der HERR ist unser Meister, der HERR ist unser König; der hilft uns!
33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
33:23 Laßt sie ihre Stricke spannen, sie werden doch nicht halten; also werden sie auch das Fähnlein nicht auf den Mastbaum ausstecken. Dann wird viel köstlicher Raub ausgeteilt werden, also daß auch die Lahmen rauben werden.
33:23 Your tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
33:24 Und kein Einwohner wird sagen: Ich bin schwach. Denn das Volk, das darin wohnt, wird Vergebung der Sünde haben.
33:24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
