28:1 Und in demselben Jahr, im Anfang des Königreiches Zedekias, des Königs in Juda, im fünften Monat des vierten Jahres, sprach Hananja, der Sohn Assurs, ein Prophet von Gibeon, zu mir im Hause des HERRN, in Gegenwart der Priester und alles Volks, und sagte:
28:1 And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spoke unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
28:2 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth der Gott Israels: Ich habe das Joch des Königs zu Babel zerbrochen;
28:2 Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
28:3 und ehe zwei Jahre um sind, will ich alle Gefäße des Hauses des HERRN, welche Nebukadnezar, der Könige zu Babel, hat von diesem Ort weggenommen und gen Babel geführt, wiederum an diesen Ort bringen;
28:3 Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
28:4 Dazu Jechonja, den Sohn Jojakims, den König Juda's samt allen Gefangenen aus Juda, die gen Babel geführt sind, will ich auch wieder an diesen Ort bringen, spricht der HERR; denn ich will das Joch des Königs zu Babel zerbrechen.
28:4 And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, says the LORD: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
28:5 Da sprach der Prophet Jeremia zu dem Propheten Hananja in der Gegenwart der Priester und des ganzen Volks, die im Hause des HERRN standen,
28:5 Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the LORD,
28:6 und sagte: Amen! Der HERR tue also; der HERR bestätige dein Wort, das du geweissagt hast, daß er die Gefäße aus dem Hause des HERRN von Babel wieder bringe an diesen Ort samt allen Gefangenen. {~}
28:6 Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD's house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
28:7 Aber doch höre auch dies Wort, das ich vor deinen Ohren rede und vor den Ohren des ganzen Volks:
28:7 Nevertheless hear you now this word that I speak in yours ears, and in the ears of all the people;
28:8 Die Propheten, die vor mir und vor dir gewesen sind von alters her, die haben wider viel Länder und Königreiche geweissagt von Krieg, von Unglück und von Pestilenz;
28:8 The prophets that have been before me and before you of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
28:9 wenn aber ein Prophet von Frieden weissagt, den wird man kennen, ob ihn der HERR wahrhaftig gesandt hat, wenn sein Wort erfüllt wird. {~} {~} {~}
28:9 The prophet which prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD has truly sent him.
28:10 Da nahm Hananja das Joch vom Halse des Propheten Jeremia und zerbrach es. {~}
28:10 Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.
28:11 Und Hananja sprach in Gegenwart des ganzen Volks: So spricht der HERR: Ebenso will ich zerbrechen das Joch Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel, ehe zwei Jahre um kommen, vom Halse aller Völker. Und der Prophet Jeremia ging seines Weges.
28:11 And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
28:12 Aber des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia, nachdem der Prophet Hananja das Joch zerbrochen hatte vom Halse des Propheten Jeremia und sprach:
28:12 Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
28:13 Geh hin und sage Hananja: So spricht der HERR: Du hast das hölzerne Joch zerbrochen und hast nun ein eisernes Joch an jenes Statt gemacht.
28:13 Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus says the LORD; You have broken the yokes of wood; but you shall make for them yokes of iron.
28:14 Denn so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Ein eisernes Joch habe ich allen diesen Völkern an den Hals gehängt, damit sie dienen sollen Nebukadnezar, dem König zu Babel, und müssen ihm dienen; denn ich habe ihm auch die wilden Tiere gegeben.
28:14 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.
28:15 Und der Prophet Jeremia sprach zum Propheten Hananja: Höre doch, Hananja! Der HERR hat dich nicht gesandt, und du hast gemacht, daß dies Volk auf Lügen sich verläßt.
28:15 Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie.
28:16 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will dich vom Erdboden nehmen; dies Jahr sollst du sterben; denn du hast sie mit deiner Rede vom HERRN abgewendet.
28:16 Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will cast you from off the face of the earth: this year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the LORD.
28:17 Also starb der Prophet Hananja desselben Jahres im siebenten Monat.
28:17 So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

29:1 Dies sind die Worte in dem Brief, den der Prophet Jeremia sandte von Jerusalem an die übrigen Ältesten, die weggeführt waren, und an die Priester und Propheten und an das ganze Volk, das Nebukadnezar von Jerusalem hatte weggeführt gen Babel
29:1 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;
29:2 (nachdem der König Jechonja und die Königin mit den Kämmerern und Fürsten in Juda und Jerusalem samt den Zimmerleuten und Schmieden zu Jerusalem weg waren),
29:2 (After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;)
29:3 durch Eleasa, den Sohn Saphans, und Gemarja, den Sohn Hilkias, welche Zedekia, der König Juda's, sandte gen Babel zu Nebukadnezar, dem König zu Babel:
29:3 By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,
29:4 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, zu allen Gefangenen, die ich habe von Jerusalem wegführen lassen gen Babel:
29:4 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;
29:5 Bauet Häuser, darin ihr wohnen möget, pflanzet Gärten, daraus ihr Früchte essen möget;
29:5 Build all of you houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;
29:6 nehmet Weiber und zeuget Söhne und Töchter; nehmet euren Söhnen Weiber und gebet euren Töchtern Männern, daß sie Söhne und Töchter zeugen; mehret euch daselbst, daß euer nicht wenig sei.
29:6 Take all of you wives, and brought forth sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that all of you may be increased there, and not diminished.
29:7 Suchet der Stadt Bestes, dahin ich euch habe lassen wegführen, und betet für sie zum HERRN; denn wenn's ihr wohl geht, so geht's auch euch wohl.
29:7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall all of you have peace.
29:8 Denn so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Laßt euch die Propheten, die bei euch sind, und die Wahrsager nicht betrügen und gehorcht euren Träumen nicht, die euch träumen.
29:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which all of you cause to be dreamed.
29:9 Denn sie weissagen euch falsch in meinem Namen; ich habe sie nicht gesandt, spricht der HERR.
29:9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, says the LORD.
29:10 Denn so spricht der HERR: Wenn zu Babel siebzig Jahre aus sind, so will ich euch besuchen und will mein gnädiges Wort über euch erwecken, daß ich euch wieder an diesen Ort bringe.
29:10 For thus says the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
29:11 Denn ich weiß wohl, was ich für Gedanken über euch habe, spricht der HERR: Gedanken des Friedens und nicht des Leidens, daß ich euch gebe das Ende, des ihr wartet.
29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
29:12 Und ihr werdet mich anrufen und hingehen und mich bitten, und ich will euch erhören.
29:12 Then shall all of you call upon me, and all of you shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
29:13 Ihr werdet mich suchen und finden. Denn so ihr mich von ganzem Herzen suchen werdet,
29:13 And all of you shall seek me, and find me, when all of you shall search for me with all your heart.
29:14 so will ich mich von euch finden lassen, spricht der HERR, und will euer Gefängnis wenden und euch sammeln aus allen Völkern und von allen Orten, dahin ich euch verstoßen habe, spricht der HERR, und will euch wiederum an diesen Ort bringen, von dem ich euch habe lassen wegführen.
29:14 And I will be found of you, says the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
29:15 Zwar ihr meint, der HERR habe euch zu Babel Propheten erweckt.
29:15 Because all of you have said, The LORD has raised us up prophets in Babylon;
29:16 Aber also spricht der HERR vom König, der auf Davids Stuhl sitzt, und von euren Brüdern, die nicht mit euch gefangen hinausgezogen sind, {~} {~} {~}
29:16 Know that thus says the LORD of the king that sits upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwells in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
29:17 ja, also spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Siehe, ich will Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz unter sie schicken und will mit ihnen umgehen wie mit den schlechten Feigen, davor einen ekelt zu essen,
29:17 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
29:18 und will hinter ihnen her sein mit Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz und will sie in keinem Königreich auf Erden bleiben lassen, daß sie sollen zum Fluch, zum Wunder, zum Hohn und zum Spott unter allen Völkern werden, dahin ich sie verstoßen werde,
29:18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations where I have driven them:
29:19 darum daß sie meinen Worten nicht gehorchen, spricht der HERR, der ich meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch stets gesandt habe; aber ihr wolltet nicht hören, spricht der HERR.
29:19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, says the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but all of you would not hear, says the LORD.
29:20 Ihr aber alle, die ihr gefangen seid weggeführt, die ich von Jerusalem habe gen Babel ziehen lassen, hört des HERRN Wort!
29:20 Hear all of you therefore the word of the LORD, all you of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:
29:21 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, wider Ahab, den Sohn Kolajas, und wider Zedekia, den Sohn Maasejas, die euch falsch weissagen in meinem Namen; Siehe, ich will sie geben in die Hände Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel; der soll sie totschlagen lassen vor euren Augen,
29:21 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;
29:22 daß man wird aus ihnen einen Fluch machen unter allen Gefangenen aus Juda, die zu Babel sind, und sagen: Der HERR tue dir wie Zedekia und Ahab, welche der König zu Babel auf Feuer braten ließ,
29:22 And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The LORD make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;
29:23 darum daß sie eine Torheit in Israel begingen und trieben Ehebruch mit ihrer Nächsten Weibern und predigten falsch in meinem Namen, was ich ihnen nicht befohlen hatte. Solches weiß ich und bezeuge es, spricht der HERR. {~}
29:23 Because they have committed villainy in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, says the LORD.
29:24 Und wider Semaja von Nehalam sollst du sagen:
29:24 Thus shall you also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
29:25 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Darum daß du unter deinem Namen hast Briefe gesandt an alles Volk, das zu Jerusalem ist, und an den Priester Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, und an alle Priester und gesagt:
29:25 Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because you have sent letters in your name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
29:26 Der HERR hat dich zum Priester gesetzt anstatt des Priesters Jojada, daß ihr sollt Aufseher sein im Hause des HERRN über alle Wahnsinnigen und Weissager, daß du sie in den Kerker und Stock legst.
29:26 The LORD has made you priest in the position of Jehoiada the priest, that all of you should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in prison, and in the stocks.
29:27 Nun, warum strafst du denn nicht Jeremia von Anathoth, der euch weissagt?
29:27 Now therefore why have you not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which makes himself a prophet to you?
29:28 darum daß er uns gen Babel geschickt hat und lassen sagen: Es wird noch lange währen; baut Häuser, darin ihr wohnt, und pflanzt Gärten, daß ihr die Früchte davon eßt.
29:28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build all of you houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
29:29 Denn Zephanja, der Priester hatte denselben Brief gelesen und den Propheten Jeremia lassen zuhören.
29:29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
29:30 Darum geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia und sprach:
29:30 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
29:31 Sende hin zu allen Gefangenen und laß ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR wider Semaja von Nehalam: Darum daß euch Semaja weissagt, und ich habe ihn doch nicht gesandt, und macht, daß ihr auf Lügen vertraut,
29:31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus says the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah has prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
29:32 darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will Semaja von Nehalam heimsuchen samt seinem Samen, daß der Seinen keiner soll unter diesem Volk bleiben, und soll das Gute nicht sehen, das ich meinem Volk tun will, spricht der HERR; denn er hat sie mit seiner Rede vom HERRN abgewendet.
29:32 Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, says the LORD; because he has taught rebellion against the LORD.

30:1 Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia:
30:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
30:2 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Schreibe dir alle Worte in ein Buch, die ich zu dir rede.
30:2 Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write you all the words that I have spoken unto you in a book.
30:3 Denn siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich das Gefängnis meines Volkes Israel und Juda wenden will, spricht der HERR, und will sie wiederbringen in das Land, das ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe, daß sie es besitzen sollen.
30:3 For, lo, the days come, says the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, says the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
30:4 Dies sind aber die Worte, welche der HERR redet von Israel und Juda:
30:4 And these are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
30:5 So spricht der HERR: Wir hören ein Geschrei des Schreckens; es ist eitel Furcht da und kein Friede.
30:5 For thus says the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
30:6 Forschet doch und sehet, ob ein Mann gebären könne? Wie geht es denn zu, daß ich alle Männer sehe ihre Hände auf ihren Hüften haben wie Weiber in Kindsnöten und alle Angesichter sind bleich?
30:6 Ask all of you now, and see whether a man does travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
30:7 Es ist ja ein großer Tag, und seinesgleichen ist nicht gewesen, und ist eine Zeit der Angst in Jakob; doch soll ihm daraus geholfen werden.
30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
30:8 Es soll aber geschehen zu derselben Zeit, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, daß ich sein Joch von deinem Halse zerbrechen will und deine Bande zerreißen, daß er nicht mehr den Fremden dienen muß,
30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds, and strangers shall no more make use of him:
30:9 sondern sie werden dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, dienen und ihrem König David, welchen ich ihnen erwecken will.
30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
30:10 Darum fürchte du dich nicht, mein Knecht Jakob, spricht der HERR, und entsetze dich nicht Israel. Denn siehe, ich will dir helfen aus fernen Landen und deinen Samen aus dem Lande des Gefängnisses, daß Jakob soll wiederkommen, in Frieden leben und Genüge haben, und niemand soll ihn schrecken.
30:10 Therefore fear you not, O my servant Jacob, says the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save you from far, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
30:11 Denn ich bin bei dir, spricht der HERR, daß ich dir helfe. Denn ich will mit allen Heiden ein Ende machen, dahin ich dich zerstreut habe; aber mit dir will ich nicht ein Ende machen; züchtigen aber will ich dich mit Maßen, daß du dich nicht für unschuldig haltest.
30:11 For I am with you, says the LORD, to save you: though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end of you: but I will correct you in measure, and will not leave you altogether unpunished.
30:12 Denn also spricht der HERR: Dein Schade ist verzweifelt böse, und deine Wunden sind unheilbar.
30:12 For thus says the LORD, Your bruise is incurable, and your wound is grievous.
30:13 Deine Sache behandelt niemand, daß er dich verbände; es kann dich niemand heilen.
30:13 There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines.
30:14 Alle deine Liebhaber vergessen dein, und fragen nichts darnach. Ich habe dich geschlagen, wie ich einen Feind schlüge, mit unbarmherziger Staupe um deiner großen Missetat und deiner starken Sünden willen.
30:14 All your lovers have forgotten you; they seek you not; for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of yours iniquity; because your sins were increased.
30:15 Was schreist du über deinen Schaden und über dein verzweifelt böses Leiden? Habe ich dir doch solches getan um deiner großen Missetat und um deiner starken Sünden willen.
30:15 Why cry you for yours affliction? your sorrow is incurable for the multitude of yours iniquity: because your sins were increased, I have done these things unto you.
30:16 Darum alle, die dich gefressen haben, sollen gefressen werden, und alle, die dich geängstet haben, sollen alle gefangen werden; die dich beraubt haben sollen beraubt werden, und alle, die dich geplündert haben, sollen geplündert werden.
30:16 Therefore all they that devour you shall be devoured; and all yours adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil you shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon you will I give for a prey.
30:17 Aber dich will ich wieder gesund machen und deine Wunden heilen, spricht der HERR, darum daß man dich nennt die Verstoßene und Zion, nach der niemand frage.
30:17 For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the LORD; because they called you an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeks after.
30:18 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will das Gefängnis der Hütten Jakobs wenden und mich über seine Wohnungen erbarmen, und die Stadt soll wieder auf ihre Hügel gebaut werden, und der Tempel soll stehen nach seiner Weise.
30:18 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be built upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
30:19 Und soll von dannen herausgehen Lob-und Freudengesang; denn ich will sie mehren und nicht mindern, ich will sie herrlich machen und nicht geringer.
30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
30:20 Ihre Söhne sollen sein gleichwie vormals und ihre Gemeinde vor mir gedeihen; denn ich will heimsuchen alle, die sie plagen.
30:20 Their children also shall be as in old times, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
30:21 Und ihr Fürst soll aus ihnen herkommen und ihr Herrscher von ihnen ausgehen, und er soll zu mir nahen; denn wer ist der, so mit willigem Herzen zu mir naht? spricht der HERR. {~}
30:21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? says the LORD.
30:22 Und ihr sollt mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein.
30:22 And all of you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
30:23 Siehe, es wird ein Wetter des HERRN mit Grimm kommen; ein schreckliches Ungewitter wird den Gottlosen auf den Kopf fallen.
30:23 Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goes forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.
30:24 Des HERRN grimmiger Zorn wird nicht nachlassen, bis er tue und ausrichte, was er im Sinn hat; zur letzten Zeit werdet ihr solches erfahren.
30:24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he has done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days all of you shall consider it.

31:1 Zu derselben Zeit, spricht der HERR, will ich aller Geschlechter Israels Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein.
31:1 At the same time, says the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
31:2 So spricht der HERR: Das Volk, so übriggeblieben ist vom Schwert, hat Gnade gefunden in der Wüste; Israel zieht hin zu seiner Ruhe.
31:2 Thus says the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
31:3 Der HERR ist mir erschienen von ferne: Ich habe dich je und je geliebt; darum habe ich dich zu mir gezogen aus lauter Güte.
31:3 The LORD has appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.
31:4 Wohlan, ich will dich wiederum bauen, daß du sollst gebaut heißen, du Jungfrau Israel; du sollst noch fröhlich pauken und herausgehen an den Tanz.
31:4 Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: you shall again be adorned with your timbrels, and shall go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
31:5 Du sollst wiederum Weinberge pflanzen an den Bergen Samarias; pflanzen wird man sie und ihre Früchte genießen.
31:5 You shall yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
31:6 Denn es wird die Zeit noch kommen, daß die Hüter an dem Gebirge Ephraim werden rufen: Wohlauf, und laßt uns hinaufgehen gen Zion zu dem HERRN, unserm Gott!
31:6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise all of you, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.
31:7 Denn also spricht der HERR: Rufet über Jakob mit Freuden und jauchzet über das Haupt unter den Heiden; rufet laut, rühmet und sprecht: HERR, hilf deinem Volk, den übrigen in Israel!
31:7 For thus says the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish all of you, praise all of you, and say, O LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel.
31:8 Siehe, ich will sie aus dem Lande der Mitternacht bringen und will sie sammeln aus den Enden der Erde, Blinde und Lahme, Schwangere und Kindbetterinnen, daß sie in großen Haufen wieder hierher kommen sollen.
31:8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that labors with child together: a great company shall return thither.
31:9 Sie werden weinend kommen und betend, so will ich sie leiten; ich will sie leiten an den Wasserbächen auf schlichtem Wege, daß sie sich nicht stoßen; denn ich bin Israels Vater, so ist Ephraim mein erstgeborenen Sohn.
31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
31:10 Höret ihr Heiden, des HERRN Wort und verkündigt es fern in die Inseln und sprecht: Der Israel zerstreut hat, der wird's auch wieder sammeln und wird sie hüten wie ein Hirte sein Herde.
31:10 Hear the word of the LORD, O all of you nations, and declare it in the isles far off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.
31:11 Denn der HERR wird Jakob erlösen und von der Hand des Mächtigen erretten.
31:11 For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
31:12 Und sie werden kommen und auf der Höhe Zion jauchzen und werden zu den Gaben des HERRN laufen, zum Getreide, Most, Öl, und jungen Schafen und Ochsen, daß ihre Seele wird sein wie ein wasserreicher Garten und sie nicht mehr bekümmert sein sollen.
31:12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
31:13 Alsdann werden auch die Jungfrauen fröhlich am Reigen sein, dazu die junge Mannschaft und die Alten miteinander. Denn ich will ihr Trauern in Freude verkehren und sie trösten und sie erfreuen nach ihrer Betrübnis.
31:13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
31:14 Und ich will der Priester Herz voller Freude machen, und mein Volk soll meiner Gaben die Fülle haben, spricht der HERR.
31:14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says the LORD.
31:15 So spricht der HERR: Man hört eine klägliche Stimme und bitteres Weinen auf der Höhe; Rahel weint über ihre Kinder und will sich nicht trösten lassen über ihre Kinder, denn es ist aus mit ihnen.
31:15 Thus says the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
31:16 Aber der HERR spricht also: Laß dein Schreien und Weinen und die Tränen deiner Augen; denn deine Arbeit wird wohl belohnt werden, spricht der HERR. Sie sollen wiederkommen aus dem Lande des Feindes;
31:16 Thus says the LORD; Refrain your voice from weeping, and yours eyes from tears: for your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
31:17 und deine Nachkommen haben viel Gutes zu erwarten, spricht der HERR; denn deine Kinder sollen wieder in ihre Grenze kommen.
31:17 And there is hope in yours end, says the LORD, that your children shall come again to their own border.
31:18 Ich habe wohl gehört, wie Ephraim klagt: "Du hast mich gezüchtigt, und ich bin auch gezüchtigt wie ein ungebändigtes Kalb; bekehre mich du, so werde ich bekehrt; denn du, HERR, bist mein Gott.
31:18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock is not accustomed to the yoke: turn you me, and I shall be turned; for you are the LORD my God.
31:19 Da ich bekehrt ward, tat ich Buße; denn nachdem ich gewitzigt bin, schlage ich mich auf die Hüfte. Ich bin zu Schanden geworden und stehe schamrot; denn ich muß leiden den Hohn meiner Jugend."
31:19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I stroke upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
31:20 Ist nicht Ephraim mein teurer Sohn und mein trautes Kind? Denn ich gedenke noch wohl daran, was ich ihm geredet habe; darum bricht mir mein Herz gegen ihn, daß ich mich sein erbarmen muß, spricht der HERR.
31:20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD.
31:21 Richte dir Denkmale auf, setze dir Zeichen und richte dein Herz auf die gebahnte Straße, darauf du gewandelt hast; kehre wieder, Jungfrau Israel, kehre dich wieder zu diesen deinen Städten!
31:21 Set you up guideposts, make you high heaps: set yours heart toward the highway, even the way which you went: return, O virgin of Israel, return to these your cities.
31:22 Wie lange willst du in der Irre gehen, du abtrünnige Tochter? Denn der HERR wird ein Neues im Lande erschaffen: das Weib wird den Mann umgeben.
31:22 How long will you go about, O you backsliding daughter? for the LORD has created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
31:23 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Man wird noch dies Wort wieder reden im Lande Juda und in seinen Städten, wenn ich ihr Gefängnis wenden werde: Der HERR segne dich, du Wohnung der Gerechtigkeit, du heiliger Berg!
31:23 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless you, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.
31:24 Und Juda samt allen seinen Städten sollen darin wohnen, dazu Ackerleute und die mit Herden umherziehen;
31:24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.
31:25 denn ich will die müden Seelen erquicken und die bekümmerten Seelen sättigen.
31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
31:26 Darüber bin ich aufgewacht und sah auf und hatte so sanft geschlafen.
31:26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
31:27 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda besäen will mit Menschen und mit Vieh.
31:27 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
31:28 Und gleichwie ich über sie gewacht habe, auszureuten, zu zerreißen, abzubrechen, zu verderben und zu plagen: also will ich über sie wachen, zu bauen und zu pflanzen, spricht der HERR.
31:28 And it shall come to pass, that like I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, says the LORD.
31:29 Zu derselben Zeit wird man nicht mehr sagen: "Die Väter haben Herlinge gegessen, und der Kinder Zähne sind stumpf geworden":
31:29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
31:30 sondern ein jeglicher soll um seiner Missetat willen sterben, und welcher Mensch Herlinge ißt, dem sollen seine Zähne stumpf werden.
31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
31:31 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, da will ich mit dem Hause Israel und mit dem Hause Juda einen neuen Bund machen;
31:31 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
31:32 nicht wie der Bund gewesen ist, den ich mit ihren Vätern machte, da ich sie bei der Hand nahm, daß ich sie aus Ägyptenland führte, welchen Bund sie nicht gehalten haben, und ich sie zwingen mußte, spricht der HERR;
31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says the LORD:
31:33 sondern das soll der Bund sein, den ich mit dem Hause Israel machen will nach dieser Zeit, spricht der HERR: Ich will mein Gesetz in ihr Herz geben und in ihren Sinn schreiben; und sie sollen mein Volk sein, so will ich ihr Gott sein;
31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
31:34 und wird keiner den andern noch ein Bruder den andern lehren und sagen: "Erkenne den HERRN", sondern sie sollen mich alle kennen, beide, klein und groß, spricht der Herr. Denn ich will ihnen ihre Missetat vergeben und ihrer Sünden nimmermehr gedenken.
31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
31:35 So spricht der HERR, der die Sonne dem Tage zum Licht gibt und den Mond und die Sterne nach ihrem Lauf der Nacht zum Licht; der das Meer bewegt, daß seine Wellen brausen, HERR Zebaoth ist sein Name:
31:35 Thus says the LORD, which gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divides the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
31:36 Wenn solche Ordnungen vergehen vor mir, spricht der HERR, so soll auch aufhören der Same Israels, daß er nicht mehr ein Volk vor mir sei ewiglich.
31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, says the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
31:37 So spricht der HERR: Wenn man den Himmel oben kann messen und den Grund der Erde erforschen, so will ich auch verwerfen den ganzen Samen Israels um alles, was sie tun, spricht der HERR. {~}
31:37 Thus says the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says the LORD.
31:38 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß die Stadt des HERRN soll gebaut werden vom Turm Hananeel an bis ans Ecktor;
31:38 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.
31:39 und die Richtschnur wird neben demselben weiter herausgehen bis an den Hügel Gareb und sich gen Goath wenden;
31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth opposite to it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.
31:40 und das Tal der Leichen und Asche samt dem ganzen Acker bis an den Bach Kidron, bis zur Ecke am Roßtor gegen Morgen, wird dem Herrn heilig sein, daß es nimmermehr zerrissen noch abgebrochen soll werden.
31:40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

32:1 Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia im zehnten Jahr Zedekias, des Königs in Juda, welches ist das achtzehnte Jahr Nebukadnezars.
32:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
32:2 Dazumal belagerte das Heer des Königs zu Babel Jerusalem. Aber der Prophet Jeremia lag gefangen im Vorhof des Gefängnisses am Hause des Königs in Juda,
32:2 For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.
32:3 dahin Zedekia, der König Juda's, ihn hatte lassen verschließen und gesagt: Warum weissagst du und sprichst: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich gebe diese Stadt in die Hände des Königs zu Babel, und er soll sie gewinnen;
32:3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore do you prophesy, and say, Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
32:4 und Zedekia, der König Juda's, soll den Chaldäern nicht entrinnen, sondern ich will ihn dem König zu Babel in die Hände geben, daß er mündlich mit ihm reden und mit seinen Augen ihn sehen soll.
32:4 And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
32:5 Und er wird Zedekia gen Babel führen; da soll er auch bleiben, bis daß ich ihn heimsuche, spricht der HERR; denn ob ihr schon wider die Chaldäer streitet, soll euch doch nichts gelingen.
32:5 And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, says the LORD: though all of you fight with the Chaldeans, all of you shall not prosper.
32:6 Und Jeremia sprach: Es ist des HERRN Wort geschehen zu mir und spricht:
32:6 And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
32:7 Siehe, Hanameel, der Sohn Sallums, deines Oheims, kommt zu dir und wird sagen: Kaufe du meinen Acker zu Anathoth; denn du hast das nächste Freundrecht dazu, daß du ihn kaufen sollst.
32:7 Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum yours uncle shall come unto you saying, Buy you my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.
32:8 Also kam Hanameel, meines Oheims Sohn, wie der HERR gesagt hatte, zu mir in den Hof des Gefängnisses und sprach zu mir: Kaufe doch meinen Acker zu Anathoth, der im Lande Benjamin liegt; denn du hast Erbrecht dazu, und du bist der nächste; kaufe du ihn! Da merkte ich, daß es des Herrn Wort wäre,
32:8 So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray you, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
32:9 und kaufte den Acker von Hanameel, meines Oheims Sohn, zu Anathoth, und wog ihm das Geld dar, siebzehn Silberlinge.
32:9 And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
32:10 Und ich schrieb einen Brief und versiegelte ihn und nahm Zeugen dazu und wog das Geld dar auf einer Waage
32:10 And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.
32:11 und nahm zu mir den versiegelten Kaufbrief nach Recht und Gewohnheit und eine offene Abschrift
32:11 So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:
32:12 und gab den Kaufbrief Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, des Sohnes Maasejas, in Gegenwart Hanameels, meines Vetters, und der Zeugen, die im Kaufbrief geschrieben standen, und aller Juden, die im Hofe des Gefängnisses saßen,
32:12 And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
32:13 und befahl Baruch vor ihren Augen und sprach:
32:13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
32:14 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Nimm diese Briefe, den versiegelten Kaufbrief samt dieser offenen Abschrift, und lege sie in ein irdenes Gefäß, daß sie lange bleiben mögen.
32:14 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
32:15 Denn so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Noch soll man Häuser, Äcker und Weinberge kaufen in diesem Lande.
32:15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
32:16 Und da ich den Kaufbrief hatte Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, gegeben, betete ich zum HERRN und sprach:
32:16 Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,
32:17 Ach HERR HERR, siehe, du hast Himmel und Erde gemacht durch deine große Kraft und durch deinen ausgestreckten Arm, und ist kein Ding vor dir unmöglich;
32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, you have made the heaven and the earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you:
32:18 der du wohltust vielen Tausenden und vergiltst die Missetat der Väter in den Busen ihrer Kinder nach ihnen, du großer und starker Gott; HERR Zebaoth ist dein Name;
32:18 You show loving kindness unto thousands, and recompence the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,
32:19 groß von Rat und mächtig von Tat, und deine Augen stehen offen über alle Wege der Menschenkinder, daß du einem jeglichen gibst nach seinem Wandel und nach der Frucht seines Wesens;
32:19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for yours eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
32:20 der du in Ägyptenland hast Zeichen und Wunder getan bis auf diesen Tag, an Israel und den Menschen, und hast dir einen Namen gemacht, wie er heutigestages ist;
32:20 Which have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and have made you a name, as at this day;
32:21 und hast dein Volk Israel aus Ägyptenland geführt durch Zeichen und Wunder, durch deine mächtige Hand, durch ausgestrecktem Arm und durch großen Schrecken;
32:21 And have brought forth your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;
32:22 und hast ihnen dies Land gegeben, welches du ihren Vätern geschworen hattest, daß du es ihnen geben wolltest, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt:
32:22 And have given them this land, which you did swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
32:23 und da sie hineinkamen und es besaßen, gehorchten sie deiner Stimme nicht, wandelten auch nicht nach deinem Gesetz; und alles, was du ihnen gebotest, daß sie es tun sollten, das ließen sie; darum du auch ihnen all dies Unglück ließest widerfahren;
32:23 And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not your voice, neither walked in your law; they have done nothing of all that you commandedst them to do: therefore you have caused all this evil to come upon them:
32:24 siehe, diese Stadt ist belagert, daß sie gewonnen und vor Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz in der Chaldäer Hände, welche wider sie streiten, gegeben werden muß; und wie du geredet hast, so geht es, das siehest du, {~}
32:24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what you have spoken has come to pass; and, behold, you see it.
32:25 und du sprichst zu mir, HERR HERR: "Kaufe du einen Acker um Geld und nimm Zeugen dazu", so doch die Stadt in der Chaldäer Hände gegeben wird.
32:25 And you have said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy you the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
32:26 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia und sprach:
32:26 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
32:27 Siehe, ich, der HERR, bin ein Gott alles Fleisches; sollte mir etwas unmöglich sein?
32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
32:28 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich gebe diese Stadt in der Chaldäer Hände und in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel; und er soll sie gewinnen.
32:28 Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
32:29 Und die Chaldäer, so wider diese Stadt streiten, werden hereinkommen und sie mit Feuer verbrennen samt den Häusern, wo sie auf den Dächern Baal geräuchert und andern Göttern Trankopfer geopfert haben, auf daß sie mich erzürnten.
32:29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
32:30 Denn die Kinder Israel und die Kinder Juda haben von ihrer Jugend auf getan, was mir übel gefällt; und die Kinder Israel haben mich erzürnt durch ihrer Hände Werk, spricht der HERR.
32:30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says the LORD.
32:31 Denn seitdem diese Stadt gebaut ist, bis auf diesen Tag, hat sie mich zornig gemacht, daß ich sie muß von meinem Angesicht wegtun{~}
32:31 For this city has been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
32:32 um aller Bosheit willen der Kinder Israel und der Kinder Juda, die sie getan haben, daß sie mich erzürnten. Sie, ihre Könige, Fürsten, Priester und Propheten und die in Juda und Jerusalem wohnen,
32:32 Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
32:33 haben mir den Rücken und nicht das Angesicht zugekehrt, wiewohl ich sie stets lehren ließ; aber sie wollten nicht hören noch sich bessern. {~}
32:33 And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
32:34 Dazu haben sie ihre Greuel in das Haus gesetzt, das von mir den Namen hat, daß sie es verunreinigten,
32:34 But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
32:35 und haben die Höhen des Baal gebaut im Tal Ben-Hinnom, daß sie ihre Söhne und Töchter dem Moloch verbrennten, davon ich ihnen nichts befohlen habe und ist mir nie in den Sinn gekommen, daß sie solche Greuel tun sollten, damit sie Juda also zu Sünden brächten.
32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
32:36 Und nun um deswillen spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, also von dieser Stadt, davon ihr sagt, daß sie werde vor Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz in die Hände des Königs zu Babel gegeben:
32:36 And now therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof all of you say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;
32:37 Siehe, ich will sie sammeln aus allen Landen, dahin ich sie verstoße durch meinen Zorn, Grimm und große Ungnade, und will sie wiederum an diesen Ort bringen, daß sie sollen sicher wohnen.
32:37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, where I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:
32:38 Und sie sollen mein Volk sein, so will ich ihr Gott sein;
32:38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
32:39 und ich will ihnen einerlei Herz und Wesen geben, daß sie mich fürchten sollen ihr Leben lang, auf daß es ihnen und ihren Kindern nach ihnen wohl gehe;
32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
32:40 und will einen ewigen Bund mit ihnen machen, daß ich nicht will ablassen, ihnen Gutes zu tun; und will ihnen meine Furcht ins Herz geben, daß sie nicht von mir weichen;
32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
32:41 und soll meine Lust sein, daß ich ihnen Gutes tue; und ich will sie in diesem Lande pflanzen treulich, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.
32:41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
32:42 Denn so spricht der HERR: Gleichwie ich über dies Volk habe kommen lassen all dies große Unglück, also will ich auch alles Gute über sie kommen lassen, das ich ihnen verheißen habe.
32:42 For thus says the LORD; Like I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
32:43 Und sollen noch Äcker gekauft werden in diesem Lande, davon ihr sagt, es werde wüst liegen, daß weder Leute noch Vieh darin bleiben, und es werde in der Chaldäer Hände gegeben.
32:43 And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof all of you say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
32:44 Dennoch wird man Äcker um Geld kaufen und verbriefen, versiegeln und bezeugen im Lande Benjamin und um Jerusalem her und in den Städten Juda's, in Städten auf den Gebirgen, in Städten in den Gründen und in Städten gegen Mittag; denn ich will ihr Gefängnis wenden, spricht der HERR.
32:44 Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, says the LORD.

33:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia zum andernmal, da er noch im Vorhof des Gefängnisses verschlossen war, und sprach:
33:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
33:2 So spricht der HERR, der solches macht, tut und ausrichtet, HERR ist sein Name: {~}
33:2 Thus says the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;
33:3 Rufe mich an, so will ich dir antworten und will dir anzeigen große und gewaltige Dinge, die du nicht weißt.
33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.
33:4 Denn so spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, von den Häusern dieser Stadt und von den Häusern der Könige Juda's, welche abgebrochen sind, Bollwerke zu machen zur Wehr.
33:4 For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
33:5 Und von denen, so hereingekommen sind, wider die Chaldäer zu streiten, daß sie diese füllen müssen mit Leichnamen der Menschen, welche ich in meinem Zorn und Grimm erschlagen will; denn ich habe mein Angesicht vor dieser Stadt verborgen um all ihrer Bosheit willen:
33:5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
33:6 Siehe, ich will sie heilen und gesund machen und will ihnen Frieden und Treue die Fülle gewähren.
33:6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
33:7 Denn ich will das Gefängnis Juda's und das Gefängnis Israels wenden und will sie bauen wie von Anfang
33:7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
33:8 und will sie reinigen von aller Missetat, damit sie wider mich gesündigt haben, und will ihnen vergeben alle Missetaten, damit sie wider mich gesündigt und übertreten haben.
33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
33:9 Und das soll mir ein fröhlicher Name, Ruhm und Preis sein unter allen Heiden auf Erden, wenn sie hören werden all das Gute, das ich ihnen tue. Und sie werden sich verwundern und entsetzen über all dem Guten und über all dem Frieden, den ich ihnen geben will.
33:9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
33:10 So spricht der HERR: An diesem Ort, davon ihr sagt: Er ist wüst, weil weder Leute noch Vieh in den Städten Juda's und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem bleiben, die so verwüstet sind, daß weder Leute noch Vieh darin sind,
33:10 Thus says the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which all of you say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
33:11 wird man dennoch wiederum hören Geschrei von Freude und Wonne, die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut und die Stimme derer, so da sagen: "Danket dem HERRN Zebaoth, denn er ist freundlich, und seine Güte währet ewiglich", wenn sie Dankopfer bringen zum Hause des HERRN. Denn ich will des Landes Gefängnis wenden wie von Anfang, spricht der HERR.
33:11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endures for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, says the LORD.
33:12 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: An diesem Ort, der so wüst ist, daß weder Leute noch Vieh darin sind, und in allen seinen Städten werden dennoch wiederum Wohnungen sein der Hirten, die da Herden weiden.
33:12 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
33:13 In Städten auf den Gebirgen und in Städten in Gründen und in Städten gegen Mittag, im Lande Benjamin und um Jerusalem her und in Städten Juda's sollen dennoch wiederum die Herden gezählt aus und ein gehen, spricht der HERR.
33:13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that tells them, says the LORD.
33:14 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich das gnädige Wort erwecken will, welches ich dem Hause Israel und dem Hause Juda geredet habe.
33:14 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
33:15 In denselben Tagen und zu derselben Zeit will ich dem David ein gerechtes Gewächs aufgehen lassen, und er soll Recht und Gerechtigkeit anrichten auf Erden.
33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
33:16 Zu derselben Zeit soll Juda geholfen werden und Jerusalem sicher wohnen, und man wird sie nennen: Der HERR unsre Gerechtigkeit.
33:16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
33:17 Denn so spricht der HERR: Es soll nimmermehr fehlen, es soll einer von David sitzen auf dem Stuhl des Hauses Israel.
33:17 For thus says the LORD; David shall never lack a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
33:18 Desgleichen soll's nimmermehr fehlen, es sollen Priester und Leviten sein vor mir, die da Brandopfer tun und Speisopfer anzünden und Opfer schlachten ewiglich.
33:18 Neither shall the priests the Levites lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle food offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
33:19 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia und sprach:
33:19 And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,
33:20 So spricht der HERR: Wenn mein Bund aufhören wird mit Tag und Nacht, daß nicht Tag und Nacht sei zu seiner Zeit,
33:20 Thus says the LORD; If all of you can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
33:21 so wird auch mein Bund aufhören mit meinem Knechte David, daß er nicht einen Sohn habe zum König auf seinem Stuhl, und mit den Leviten und Priestern, meinen Dienern.
33:21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
33:22 Wie man des Himmels Heer nicht zählen noch den Sand am Meer messen kann, also will ich mehren den Samen Davids, meines Knechtes, und die Leviten, die mir dienen.
33:22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
33:23 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia und sprach:
33:23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
33:24 Hast du nicht gesehen, was dies Volk redet und spricht: "Hat doch der HERR auch die zwei Geschlechter verworfen, welche er auserwählt hatte"; und lästern mein Volk, als sollten sie nicht mehr mein Volk sein.
33:24 Consider you not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD has chosen, he has even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
33:25 So spricht der HERR: Halte ich meinen Bund nicht Tag und Nacht noch die Ordnungen des Himmels und der Erde,
33:25 Thus says the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
33:26 so will ich auch verwerfen den Samen Jakobs und Davids, meines Knechtes, daß ich nicht aus ihrem Samen nehme, die da herrschen über den Samen Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs. Denn ich will ihr Gefängnis wenden und mich über sie erbarmen.
33:26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

34:1 Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia, da Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, samt seinem Heer und allen Königreichen auf Erden, so unter seiner Gewalt waren, und allen Völkern stritt wider Jerusalem und alle ihre Städte, und sprach:
34:1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,
34:2 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Gehe hin und sage Zedekia, dem König Juda's, und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will diese Stadt in die Hände des Königs zu Babel geben, und er soll sie mit Feuer verbrennen.
34:2 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
34:3 Und du sollst seiner Hand nicht entrinnen, sondern gegriffen und in seine Hand gegeben werden, daß du ihn mit Augen sehen und mündlich mit ihm reden wirst, und gen Babel kommen.
34:3 And you shall not escape out of his hand, but shall surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and yours eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with you mouth to mouth, and you shall go to Babylon.
34:4 Doch aber höre, Zedekia, du König Juda's, des HERRN Wort: So spricht der HERR von dir: Du sollst nicht durchs Schwert sterben,
34:4 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus says the LORD of you, You shall not die by the sword:
34:5 sondern du sollst im Frieden sterben. Und wie deinen Vätern, den vorigen Königen, die vor dir gewesen sind, so wird man auch dir einen Brand anzünden und dich beklagen: "Ach Herr!" denn ich habe es geredet, spricht der HERR.
34:5 But you shall die in peace: and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings which were before you, so shall they burn odours for you; and they will lament you, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, says the LORD.
34:6 Und der Prophet Jeremia redete alle diese Worte zu Zedekia, dem König Juda's, zu Jerusalem,
34:6 Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
34:7 da das Heer des Königs zu Babel schon stritt wider Jerusalem und wider alle übrigen Städte Juda's, nämlich wider Lachis und Aseka; denn diese waren noch übriggeblieben von den festen Städten Juda's. {~}
34:7 When the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.
34:8 Dies ist das Wort, so vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia, nachdem der König Zedekia einen Bund gemacht hatte mit dem ganzen Volk zu Jerusalem, ein Freijahr auszurufen,
34:8 This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;
34:9 daß ein jeglicher seinen Knecht und seine Magd, so Hebräer und Hebräerin wären, sollte freigeben, daß kein Jude den andern leibeigen hielte.
34:9 That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to know, of a Jew his brother.
34:10 Da gehorchten alle Fürsten und alles Volk, die solchen Bund eingegangen waren, daß ein jeglicher sollte seinen Knecht und seine Magd freigeben und sie nicht mehr leibeigen halten, und gaben sie los.
34:10 Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should make use of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.
34:11 Aber darnach kehrten sie sich um und forderten die Knechte und Mägde wieder zu sich, die sie freigegeben hatten, und zwangen sie, daß sie Knechte und Mägde sein mußten.
34:11 But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
34:12 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia vom HERRN und sprach:
34:12 Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
34:13 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe einen Bund gemacht mit euren Vätern, da ich sie aus Ägyptenland, aus dem Diensthause, führte und sprach:
34:13 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,
34:14 Im siebenten Jahr soll ein jeglicher seinen Bruder, der ein Hebräer ist und sich ihm verkauft und sechs Jahre gedient hat, frei von sich lassen. Aber eure Väter gehorchten mir nicht und neigten ihre Ohren nicht.
34:14 At the end of seven years let all of you go every man his brother an Hebrew, which has been sold unto you; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.
34:15 So habt ihr euch heute bekehrt und getan, was mir wohl gefiel, daß ihr ein Freijahr ließet ausrufen, ein jeglicher seinem Nächsten; und habt darüber einen Bund gemacht vor mir im Hause, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist.
34:15 And all of you were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and all of you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
34:16 Aber ihr seid umgeschlagen und entheiligt meinen Namen; und ein jeglicher fordert seinen Knecht und seine Magd wieder, die ihr hattet freigegeben, daß sie selbst eigen wären, und zwingt sie nun, daß sie eure Knechte und Mägde sein müssen.
34:16 But all of you turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.
34:17 Darum spricht der HERR also: Ihr gehorchtet mir nicht, daß ihr ein Freijahr ausriefet ein jeglicher seinem Bruder und seinem Nächsten; siehe, so rufe ich, spricht der HERR, euch ein Freijahr aus zum Schwert, zur Pestilenz, zum Hunger, und will euch in keinem Königreich auf Erden bleiben lassen.
34:17 Therefore thus says the LORD; All of you have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, says the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
34:18 Und will die Leute, die meinen Bund übertreten und die Worte des Bundes, den sie vor mir gemacht haben, nicht halten, so machen wie das Kalb, das sie in zwei Stücke geteilt haben und sind zwischen den Teilen hingegangen, {~}
34:18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in two, and passed between the parts thereof,
34:19 nämlich die Fürsten Juda's, die Fürsten Jerusalems, die Kämmerer, die Priester und das ganze Volk im Lande, so zwischen des Kalbes Stücken hingegangen sind.
34:19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
34:20 Und will sie geben in ihrer Feinde Hand und derer, die ihnen nach dem Leben stehen, daß ihre Leichname sollen den Vögeln unter dem Himmel und den Tieren auf Erden zur Speise werden.
34:20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for food unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
34:21 Und Zedekia, den König Juda's, und seine Fürsten will ich geben in die Hände ihrer Feinde und derer, die ihnen nach dem Leben stehen, und dem Heer des Königs zu Babel, die jetzt von euch abgezogen sind.
34:21 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which are gone up from you.
34:22 Denn siehe, ich will ihnen befehlen, spricht der HERR, und will sie wieder vor diese Stadt bringen, und sollen wider sie streiten und sie gewinnen und mit Feuer verbrennen; und ich will die Städte Juda's verwüsten, daß niemand mehr da wohnen soll.
34:22 Behold, I will command, says the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.

35:1 Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia zur Zeit Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda, und sprach:
35:1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
35:2 Gehe hin zum Hause der Rechabiter und rede mit ihnen und führe sie in des HERRN Haus, in der Kapellen eine, und schenke ihnen Wein.
35:2 Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
35:3 Da nahm ich Jaasanja, den Sohn Jeremia's, des Sohnes Habazinjas, samt seinen Brüdern und allen seinen Söhnen und das ganze Haus der Rechabiter
35:3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
35:4 und führte sie in des HERRN Haus, in die Kapelle der Kinder Hanans, des Sohnes Jigdaljas, des Mannes Gottes, welche neben der Fürstenkapelle ist, über der Kapelle Maasejas, des Sohnes Sallums, des Torhüters.
35:4 And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
35:5 Und ich setzte den Kindern von der Rechabiter Hause Becher voll Wein und Schalen vor und sprach zu ihnen: Trinkt Wein!
35:5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink all of you wine.
35:6 Sie aber antworteten: Wir trinken nicht Wein; denn unser Vater Jonadab, der Sohn Rechabs, hat uns geboten und gesagt: Ihr und eure Kinder sollt nimmermehr Wein trinken
35:6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, All of you shall drink no wine, neither all of you, nor your sons for ever:
35:7 und kein Haus bauen, keinen Samen säen, keinen Weinberg pflanzen noch haben, sondern sollt in Hütten wohnen euer Leben lang, auf daß ihr lange lebt in dem Lande, darin ihr wallt.
35:7 Neither shall all of you build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days all of you shall dwell in tents; that all of you may live many days in the land where all of you be strangers.
35:8 Also gehorchen wir der Stimme unsers Vater Jonadab, des Sohnes Rechabs, in allem, was er uns geboten hat, daß wir keinen Wein trinken unser Leben lang, weder wir noch unsre Weiber noch Söhne noch Töchter,
35:8 Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he has charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
35:9 und bauen auch keine Häuser, darin wir wohnten, und haben weder Weinberge noch Äcker noch Samen,
35:9 Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
35:10 sondern wohnen in Hütten und gehorchen und tun alles, wie unser Vater Jonadab geboten hat.
35:10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
35:11 Als aber Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, herauf ins Land zog, sprachen wir: "Kommt, laßt uns gen Jerusalem ziehen vor dem Heer der Chaldäer und der Syrer!" und sind also zu Jerusalem geblieben.
35:11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
35:12 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia und sprach:
35:12 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
35:13 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels; gehe hin und sprich zu denen in Juda und zu den Bürgern zu Jerusalem: Wollt ihr euch denn nicht bessern, daß ihr meinem Wort gehorcht? spricht der HERR.
35:13 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will all of you not receive instruction to hearken to my words? says the LORD.
35:14 Die Worte Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, die er den Kindern geboten hat, daß sie nicht sollen Wein trinken, werden gehalten, und sie trinken keinen Wein bis auf diesen Tag, darum daß sie ihres Vaters Gebot gehorchen. Ich aber habe stets euch predigen lassen; doch gehorchtet ihr mir nicht.
35:14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but all of you hearkened not unto me.
35:15 So habe ich auch stets zu euch gesandt alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, und lasse sagen: Bekehrt euch ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, und bessert euren Wandel und folgt nicht andern Göttern nach, ihnen zu dienen, so sollt ihr in dem Lande bleiben, welches ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe. Aber ihr wolltet eure Ohren nicht neigen noch mir gehorchen, {~}
35:15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return all of you now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and all of you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but all of you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
35:16 so doch die Kinder Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, haben ihres Vaters Gebot, das er ihnen geboten hat, gehalten. Aber dies Volk gehorchte mir nicht.
35:16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people has not hearkened unto me:
35:17 Darum so spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth und der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will über Juda und über alle Bürger zu Jerusalem kommen lassen all das Unglück, das ich wider sie geredet habe, darum daß ich zu ihnen geredet habe und sie nicht wollen hören, daß ich gerufen habe und sie mir nicht wollen antworten.
35:17 Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
35:18 Und zum Hause der Rechabiter sprach Jeremia: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Darum daß ihr dem Gebot eures Vaters Jonadab habt gehorcht und alle seine Gebote gehalten und alles getan, was er euch geboten hat,
35:18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because all of you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he has commanded you:
35:19 darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, also: Es soll dem Jonadab, dem Sohne Rechabs, nimmer fehlen, es soll jemand von den Seinen allezeit vor mir stehen.
35:19 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before me for ever.

36:1 Im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda, geschah dies Wort zu Jeremia vom HERRN und sprach:
36:1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
36:2 Nimm ein Buch und schreibe darein alle Reden, die ich zu dir geredet habe über Israel, über Juda und alle Völker von der Zeit an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, nämlich von der Zeit Josias an bis auf diesen Tag;
36:2 Take you a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto you, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
36:3 ob vielleicht die vom Hause Juda, wo sie hören all das Unglück, das ich ihnen gedenke zu tun, sich bekehren wollten, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit ich ihnen ihre Missetat und Sünde vergeben könnte.
36:3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
36:4 Da rief Jeremia Baruch, den Sohn Nerias. Derselbe Baruch schrieb in ein Buch aus dem Munde Jeremia's alle Reden des HERRN, die er zu ihm geredet hatte.
36:4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
36:5 Und Jeremia gebot Baruch und sprach: Ich bin gefangen, daß ich nicht kann in des HERRN Haus gehen.
36:5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
36:6 Du aber gehe hinein und lies das Buch, darein du des HERRN Reden aus meinem Munde geschrieben hast, vor dem Volk im Hause des HERRN am Fasttage, und sollst sie auch lesen vor den Ohren des ganzen Juda, die aus ihren Städten hereinkommen;
36:6 Therefore go you, and read in the roll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house upon the fasting day: and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
36:7 ob sie vielleicht sich mit Beten vor dem HERRN demütigen wollen und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen; denn der Zorn und Grimm ist groß, davon der HERR wider dies Volk geredet hat.
36:7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.
36:8 Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, tat alles, wie ihm der Prophet Jeremia befohlen hatte, daß er die Reden des HERRN aus dem Buche läse im Hause des HERRN.
36:8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house.
36:9 Es begab sich aber im fünften Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs Juda's, im neunten Monat, daß man ein Fasten verkündigte vor dem HERRN allem Volk zu Jerusalem und allem Volk, das aus den Städten Juda's gen Jerusalem kommt.
36:9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
36:10 Und Baruch las aus dem Buche die Reden Jeremia's im Hause des HERRN, in der Kapelle Gemarjas, des Sohnes Saphans, des Kanzlers, im obern Vorhof, vor dem neuen Tor am Hause des HERRN, vor dem ganzen Volk.
36:10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.
36:11 Da nun Michaja, der Sohn Gemarjas, des Sohnes Saphans, alle Reden des HERRN gehört hatte aus dem Buche,
36:11 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,
36:12 ging er hinab in des Königs Haus, in die Kanzlei. Und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten: Elisama, der Kanzler, Delaja, der Sohn Semajas, Elnathan, der Sohn Achbors, Gemarja, der Sohn Saphans, und Zedekia, der Sohn Hananjas, samt allen Fürsten.
36:12 Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
36:13 Und Michaja zeigte ihnen an alle Reden, die er gehört hatte, da Baruch las aus dem Buche vor den Ohren des Volks.
36:13 Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
36:14 Da sandten alle Fürsten Judi, den Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohnes Selemjas, des Sohnes Chusis, nach Baruch und ließen ihm sagen: Nimm das Buch daraus du vor dem Volk gelesen hast, mit dir und komme! Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, nahm das Buch mit sich und kam zu ihnen.
36:14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in yours hand the roll wherein you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
36:15 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich und lies, daß wir es hören! Und Baruch las ihnen vor ihren Ohren.
36:15 And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
36:16 Und da sie alle die Reden hörten, entsetzten sie sich einer gegen den andern und sprachen zu Baruch: Wir wollen alle diese Reden dem König anzeigen.
36:16 Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and the other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
36:17 Und sie fragten Baruch: Sage uns, wie hast du alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde geschrieben?
36:17 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?
36:18 Baruch sprach zu ihnen: Er sagte vor mir alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde, und ich schrieb sie mit Tinte ins Buch.
36:18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
36:19 Da sprachen die Fürsten zu Baruch: Gehe hin und verbirg dich mit Jeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid.
36:19 Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide you, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where all of you be.
36:20 Sie aber gingen hin zum König in den Vorhof und ließen das Buch behalten in der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers, und sagten vor dem König an alle diese Reden.
36:20 And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.
36:21 Da sandte der König den Judi, das Buch zu holen. Der nahm es aus der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers. Und Judi las vor dem König und allen Fürsten, die bei dem König standen.
36:21 So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.
36:22 Der König aber saß im Winterhause, im neunten Monat, vor dem Kamin.
36:22 Now the king sat in the winter-house in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.
36:23 Wenn aber Judi drei oder vier Blatt gelesen hatte, zerschnitt er es mit einem Schreibmesser und warf es ins Feuer, das im Kaminherde war, bis das Buch ganz verbrannte im Feuer,
36:23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
36:24 und niemand entsetzte sich noch zerriß seine Kleider, weder der König noch seine Knechte, so doch alle diese Reden gehört hatten,
36:24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
36:25 und wiewohl Elnathan, Delaja und Gemarja den König baten, er wolle das Buch nicht verbrennen, gehorchte er ihnen doch nicht.
36:25 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
36:26 Dazu gebot noch der König Jerahmeel, dem Königssohn, und Seraja, dem Sohn Asriels, und Selemja, dem Sohn Abdeels, sie sollten Baruch, den Schreiber, und Jeremia, den Propheten, greifen. Aber der HERR hatte sie verborgen.
36:26 But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.
36:27 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia, nachdem der König das Buch und die Reden, so Baruch geschrieben aus dem Munde Jeremia's, verbrannt hatte, und sprach:
36:27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
36:28 Nimm dir wiederum ein anderes Buch und schreib alle vorigen Reden darein, die im ersten Buche standen, welches Jojakim, der König Juda's, verbrannt hat,
36:28 Take you again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.
36:29 und sage von Jojakim, dem König Juda's: So spricht der HERR: Du hast dies Buch verbrannt und gesagt: Warum hast du darein geschrieben, daß der König von Babel werde kommen und dies Land verderben und machen, daß weder Leute noch Vieh darin mehr sein werden?
36:29 And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus says the LORD; You have burned this roll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
36:30 Darum spricht der HERR von Jojakim, dem König Juda's: Es soll keiner von den Seinen auf dem Stuhl Davids sitzen, und sein Leichnam soll hingeworfen des Tages in der Hitze und des Nachts im Frost liegen;
36:30 Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
36:31 und ich will ihn und seinen Samen und seine Knechte heimsuchen um ihrer Missetat willen; und ich will über sie und über die Bürger zu Jerusalem und über die in Juda kommen lassen all das Unglück, davon ich ihnen geredet habe, und sie gehorchten doch nicht.
36:31 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.
36:32 Da nahm Jeremia ein anderes Buch und gab's Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, dem Schreiber. Der schrieb darein aus dem Munde Jeremia's alle die Reden, so in dem Buch standen, das Jojakim, der König Juda's, hatte mit Feuer verbrennen lassen; und zu denselben wurden dergleichen Reden noch viele hinzugetan.
36:32 Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.

37:1 Und da Zedekia, der Sohn Josias, ward König anstatt Jechonjas, des Sohnes Jojakims; denn Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel machte ihn zum König im Lande Juda.
37:1 And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
37:2 Aber er und seine Knechte und das Volk im Lande gehorchten nicht des HERRN Worten, die er durch den Propheten Jeremia redete.
37:2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spoke by the prophet Jeremiah.
37:3 Es sandte gleichwohl der König Zedekia Juchal, den Sohn Selemjas, und Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, den Priester, zum Propheten Jeremia und ließ ihm sagen: Bitte den HERRN, unsern Gott, für uns!
37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us.
37:4 Denn Jeremia ging unter dem Volk aus und ein, und niemand legte ihn ins Gefängnis.
37:4 Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people: for they had not put him into prison.
37:5 Es war aber das Heer Pharaos aus Ägypten gezogen: und die Chaldäer, so vor Jerusalem lagen, da sie solch Gerücht gehört hatten, waren von Jerusalem abgezogen.
37:5 Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem.
37:6 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zum Propheten Jeremia und sprach:
37:6 Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah saying,
37:7 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: So sagt dem König Juda's, der euch zu mir gesandt hat, mich zu fragen: Siehe, das Heer Pharaos, das euch zu Hilfe ist ausgezogen, wird wiederum heim nach Ägypten ziehen;
37:7 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall all of you say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which has come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
37:8 und die Chaldäer werden wiederkommen und wider diese Stadt streiten und sie gewinnen und mit Feuer verbrennen.
37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.
37:9 Darum spricht der HERR also: Betrügt eure Seelen nicht, daß ihr denkt, die Chaldäer werden von uns abziehen; sie werden nicht abziehen.
37:9 Thus says the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart.
37:10 Und wenn ihr schon schlüget das ganze Heer der Chaldäer, so wider euch streiten, und blieben ihrer etliche verwundet übrig, so würden sie doch, ein jeglicher in seinem Gezelt, sich aufmachen und diese Stadt mit Feuer verbrennen.
37:10 For though all of you had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
37:11 Als nun der Chaldäer Heer von Jerusalem war abgezogen um des Heeres willen Pharaos,
37:11 And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,
37:12 ging Jeremia aus Jerusalem und wollte ins Land Benjamin gehen, seinen Acker in Besitz zu nehmen unter dem Volk.
37:12 Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people.
37:13 Und da er unter das Tor Benjamin kam, da war einer bestellt zum Torhüter, mit Namen Jeria, der Sohn Selemjas, des Sohnes Hananjas; der griff den Propheten Jeremia und sprach: Du willst zu den Chaldäern fallen.
37:13 And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You fall away to the Chaldeans.
37:14 Jeremia sprach: Das ist nicht wahr; ich will nicht zu den Chaldäern fallen. Aber Jeria wollte ihn nicht hören, sondern griff Jeremia und brachte ihn zu den Fürsten.
37:14 Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.
37:15 Und die Fürsten wurden zornig über Jeremia und ließen ihn schlagen und warfen ihn ins Gefängnis im Hause Jonathans, des Schreibers; den setzten sie zum Kerkermeister.
37:15 Wherefore the princes were angry with Jeremiah, and stroke him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.
37:16 Also ging Jeremia in die Grube und den Kerker und lag lange Zeit daselbst.
37:16 When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
37:17 Und Zedekia, der König, sandte hin und ließ ihn holen und fragte ihn heimlich in seinem Hause und sprach: Ist auch ein Wort vom HERRN vorhanden? Jeremia sprach: Ja; denn du wirst dem König zu Babel in die Hände gegeben werden. {~}
37:17 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, you shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.
37:18 Und Jeremia sprach zum König Zedekia: Was habe ich wider dich, wider deine Knechte und wider dein Volk gesündigt, daß sie mich in den Kerker geworfen haben?
37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against you, or against your servants, or against this people, that all of you have put me in prison?
37:19 Wo sind nun eure Propheten, die euch weissagten und sprachen: Der König zu Babel wird nicht über euch noch über dies Land kommen?
37:19 Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
37:20 Und nun, mein Herr König, höre mich und laß meine Bitte vor dir gelten und laß mich nicht wieder in Jonathans, des Schreibers, Haus bringen, daß ich nicht sterbe daselbst.
37:20 Therefore hear now, I pray you, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray you, be accepted before you; that you cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
37:21 Da befahl der König Zedekia, daß man Jeremia im Vorhof des Gefängnisses behalten sollte, und ließ ihm des Tages ein Laiblein Brot geben aus der Bäckergasse, bis daß alles Brot in der Stadt aufgezehrt war. Also blieb Jeremia im Vorhof des Gefängnisses.
37:21 Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

38:1 Es hörten aber Sephatja, der Sohn Matthans, und Gedalja, der Sohn Pashurs, und Juchal, der Sohn Selemjas, und Pashur, der Sohn Malchias, die Reden, so Jeremia zu allem Volk redete und sprach:
38:1 Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,
38:2 So spricht der HERR: Wer in dieser Stadt bleibt, der wird durch Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz sterben müssen; wer aber hinausgeht zu den Chaldäern, der soll lebend bleiben und wird sein Leben wie eine Beute davonbringen.
38:2 Thus says the LORD, He that remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.
38:3 Denn also spricht der HERR: Diese Stadt soll übergeben werden dem Heer des Königs zu Babel, und sie sollen sie gewinnen.
38:3 Thus says the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.
38:4 Da sprachen die Fürsten zum König: Laß doch diesen Mann töten; denn mit der Weise wendet er die Kriegsleute ab, so noch übrig sind in der Stadt, desgleichen das ganze Volk auch, weil er solche Worte zu ihnen sagt. Denn der Mann sucht nicht, was diesem Volk zum Frieden, sondern zum Unglück dient.
38:4 Therefore the princes said unto the king, We plead to you, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.
38:5 Der König Zedekia sprach: Siehe, er ist in euren Händen; denn der König kann nichts wider euch.
38:5 Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.
38:6 Da nahmen sie Jeremia und warfen ihn in die Grube Malchias, des Königssohnes, die am Vorhof des Gefängnisses war, da nicht Wasser, sondern Schlamm war, und Jeremia sank in den Schlamm. {~} {~} {~}
38:6 Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
38:7 Als aber Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, ein Kämmerer in des Königs Hause, hörte, daß man Jeremia hatte in die Grube geworfen, und der König eben saß im Tor Benjamin,
38:7 Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;
38:8 da ging Ebed-Melech aus des Königs Hause und redete mit dem König und sprach:
38:8 Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spoke to the king saying,
38:9 Mein Herr König, die Männer handeln übel an dem Propheten Jeremia, daß sie ihn haben in die Grube geworfen, da er muß Hungers sterben; denn es ist kein Brot mehr in der Stadt.
38:9 My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.
38:10 Da befahl der König Ebed-Melech, dem Mohren, und sprach: Nimm dreißig Männer mit dir von diesen und zieh den Propheten Jeremia aus der Grube, ehe denn er sterbe.
38:10 Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from behind thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.
38:11 Und Ebed-Melech nahm die Männer mit sich und ging in des Königs Haus unter die Schatzkammer und nahm daselbst zerrissene und vertragene alte Lumpen und ließ sie an einem Seil hinab zu Jeremia in die Grube.
38:11 So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.
38:12 Und Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, sprach zu Jeremia: Lege diese zerrissenen und vertragenen alten Lumpen unter deine Achseln um das Seil. Und Jeremia tat also.
38:12 And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under yours armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
38:13 Und sie zogen Jeremia herauf aus der Grube an den Stricken; und blieb also Jeremia im Vorhof des Gefängnisses.
38:13 So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
38:14 Und der König Zedekia sandte hin und ließ den Propheten Jeremia zu sich holen unter den dritten Eingang am Hause des HERRN. Und der König sprach zu Jeremia: Ich will dich etwas fragen; verhalte mir nichts.
38:14 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask you a thing; hide nothing from me.
38:15 Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: Sage ich dir etwas, so tötest du mich doch; gebe ich dir aber einen Rat, so gehorchst du mir nicht.
38:15 Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto you, will you not surely put me to death? and if I give you counsel, will you not hearken unto me?
38:16 Da schwur der König Zedekia dem Jeremia heimlich und sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, der uns dieses Leben gegeben hat, so will ich dich nicht töten noch den Männern in die Hände geben, die dir nach dem Leben stehen.
38:16 So Zedekiah the king swore secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD lives, that made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men that seek your life.
38:17 Und Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Wirst du hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so sollst du leben bleiben, und diese Stadt soll nicht verbrannt werden, sondern du und dein Haus sollen am Leben bleiben;
38:17 Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If you will assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, and yours house:
38:18 wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so wird diese Stadt den Chaldäern in die Hände gegeben, und sie werden sie mit Feuer verbrennen, und du wirst auch nicht ihren Händen entrinnen.
38:18 But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.
38:19 Der König Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Ich sorge mich aber, daß ich den Juden, so zu den Chaldäern gefallen sind, möchte übergeben werden, daß sie mein spotten.
38:19 And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.
38:20 Jeremia sprach: Man wird dich nicht übergeben. Gehorche doch der Stimme des HERRN, die ich dir sage, so wird dir's wohl gehen, und du wirst lebend bleiben.
38:20 But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver you. Obey, I plead to you, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto you: so it shall be well unto you, and your soul shall live.
38:21 Wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen, so ist dies das Wort, das mir der HERR gezeigt hat:
38:21 But if you refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD has showed me:
38:22 Siehe, alle Weiber, die noch vorhanden sind in dem Hause des Königs in Juda, werden hinaus müssen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel; diese werden dann sagen: Ach deine Tröster haben dich überredet und verführt und in Schlamm geführt und lassen dich nun stecken.
38:22 And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Your friends have set you on, and have prevailed against you: your feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.
38:23 Also werden dann alle deine Weiber und Kinder hinaus müssen zu den Chaldäern, und du selbst wirst ihren Händen nicht entgehen; sondern du wirst vom König von Babel gegriffen, und diese Stadt wird mit Feuer verbrannt werden.
38:23 So they shall bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans: and you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.
38:24 Und Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Siehe zu, daß niemand diese Rede erfahre, so wirst du nicht sterben.
38:24 Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and you shall not die.
38:25 Und wenn's die Fürsten erführen, daß ich mit dir geredet habe, und kämen zu dir und sprächen: Sage an, was hast du mit dem König geredet, leugne es uns nicht, so wollen wir dich nicht töten, und was hat der König mit dir geredet?
38:25 But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come unto you, and say unto you, Declare unto us now what you have said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put you to death; also what the king said unto you:
38:26 so sprich: Ich habe den König gebeten, daß er mich nicht wiederum ließe in des Jonathan Haus führen; ich möchte daselbst sterben.
38:26 Then you shall say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.
38:27 Da kamen alle Fürsten zu Jeremia und fragten ihn; und er sagte ihnen, wie ihm der König befohlen hatte. Da ließen sie von ihm, weil sie nichts erfahren konnten.
38:27 Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.
38:28 Und Jeremia blieb im Vorhof des Gefängnisses bis auf den Tag, da Jerusalem gewonnen ward.
38:28 So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

39:1 Und es geschah, daß Jerusalem gewonnen ward. Denn im neunten Jahr Zedekias, des Königs in Juda, im zehnten Monat, kam Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, und all sein Heer vor Jerusalem und belagerten es.
39:1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
39:2 Und im elften Jahr Zedekias, am neunten Tage des vierten Monats, brach man in die Stadt;
39:2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
39:3 und zogen hinein alle Fürsten des Königs zu Babel und hielten unter dem Mitteltor, nämlich Nergal-Sarezer, Samgar-Nebo, Sarsechim, der oberste Kämmerer, Nergal-Sarezer, der Oberste der Weisen, und alle andern Fürsten des Königs zu Babel.
39:3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
39:4 Als sie nun Zedekia, der König Juda's, sah samt seinen Kriegsleuten, flohen sie bei Nacht zur Stadt hinaus bei des Königs Garten durchs Tor zwischen den zwei Mauern und zogen des Weges zum blachen Feld. {~} {~}
39:4 And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate between the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
39:5 Aber der Chaldäer Kriegsleute jagten ihnen nach und ergriffen Zedekia im Felde bei Jericho und fingen ihn und brachten ihn zu Nebukadnezar, dem König zu Babel, gen Ribla, das im Lande Hamath liegt; der sprach ein Urteil über ihn.
39:5 But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
39:6 Und der König zu Babel ließ die Söhne Zedekias vor seinen Augen töten zu Ribla und tötete alle Fürsten Juda's. {~} {~}
39:6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
39:7 Aber Zedekia ließ er die Augen ausstechen und ihn in Ketten binden, daß er ihn gen Babel führte.
39:7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
39:8 Und die Chaldäer verbrannten beide, des Königs Haus und der Bürger Häuser, und zerbrachen die Mauern zu Jerusalem. {~}
39:8 And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.
39:9 Was aber noch von Volk in der Stadt war, und was sonst zu ihnen gefallen war, die führte Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann der Trabanten, alle miteinander gen Babel gefangen. {~} {~} {~} {~} {~}
39:9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
39:10 Aber von dem geringen Volk, das nichts hatte, ließ zu derselben Zeit Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, etliche im Lande Juda und gab ihnen Weinberge und Felder. {~}
39:10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
39:11 Aber Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, hatte Nebusaradan, dem Hauptmann, befohlen von Jeremia und gesagt: {~} {~}
39:11 Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,
39:12 Nimm ihn und laß ihn dir befohlen sein und tu ihm kein Leid; sondern wie er's von dir begehrt, so mache es mit ihm. {~}
39:12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto you.
39:13 Da sandten hin Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, und Nebusasban, der oberste Kämmerer, Nergal-Sarezer, der Oberste der Weisen, und alle Fürsten des Königs zu Babel{~}
39:13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon's princes;
39:14 und ließen Jeremia holen aus dem Vorhof des Gefängnisses und befahlen ihn Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, daß er ihn hinaus in sein Haus führte. Und er blieb bei dem Volk. {~}
39:14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.
39:15 Es war auch des HERRN Wort geschehen zu Jeremia, als er noch im Vorhof des Gefängnisses gefangen lag, und hatte gesprochen:
39:15 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
39:16 Gehe hin und sage Ebed-Melech, dem Mohren: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: siehe, ich will meine Worte kommen lassen über diese Stadt zum Unglück und zu keinem Guten, und du sollst es sehen zur selben Zeit. {~}
39:16 Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before you.
39:17 Aber dich will ich erretten zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR, und sollst den Leuten nicht zuteil werden, vor welchen du dich fürchtest. {~}
39:17 But I will deliver you in that day, says the LORD: and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.
39:18 Denn ich will dir davonhelfen, daß du nicht durchs Schwert fällst, sondern sollst dein Leben wie eine Beute davonbringen, darum daß du mir vertraut hast, spricht der HERR.
39:18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey unto you: because you have put your trust in me, says the LORD.

40:1 Dies ist das Wort, so vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia, da ihn Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, losließ zu Rama; denn er war mit Ketten gebunden unter allen denen, die zu Jerusalem und in Juda gefangen waren, daß man sie gen Babel wegführen sollte. {~} {~}
40:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.
40:2 Da nun der Hauptmann Jeremia zu sich hatte lassen holen, sprach er zu ihm: Der HERR, dein Gott, hat dies Unglück über diese Stätte geredet. {~}
40:2 And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The LORD your God has pronounced this evil upon this place.
40:3 und hat's auch kommen lassen und getan, wie er geredet hat; denn ihr habt gesündigt wider den HERRN und seiner Stimme nicht gehorcht; darum ist euch solches widerfahren. {~}
40:3 Now the LORD has brought it, and done according as he has said: because all of you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come upon you.
40:4 Und nun siehe, ich habe dich heute losgemacht von den Ketten, womit deine Hände gebunden waren. Gefällt dir's, mit mir gen Babel zu ziehen, so komm du sollst mir befohlen sein; gefällt dir's aber nicht, mit mir gen Babel zu ziehen, so laß es anstehen. Siehe, da hast du das ganze Land vor dir; wo dich's gut dünkt und dir gefällt, da zieh hin. {~} {~}
40:4 And now, behold, I loose you this day from the chains which were upon yours hand. If it seem good unto you to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto you: but if it seem ill unto you to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before you: where it seems good and convenient for you to go, thither go.
40:5 Denn weiter hinaus wird kein Wiederkehren sein. Darum magst du umkehren zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, welchen der König zu Babel gesetzt hat über die Städte in Juda, und bei ihm unter dem Volk bleiben; oder gehe, wohin dir's wohl gefällt. Und der Hauptmann gab ihm Zehrung und Geschenke und ließ ihn gehen. {~} {~}
40:5 Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go where ever it seems convenient unto you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
40:6 Also kam Jeremia zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, gen Mizpa und blieb bei ihm unter dem Volk, das im Lande noch übrig war.
40:6 Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.
40:7 Da nun die Hauptleute, so auf dem Felde sich hielten, samt ihren Leuten erfuhren, daß der König zu Babel hatte Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, über das Land gesetzt und über die Männer und Weiber, Kinder und die Geringen im Lande, welche nicht gen Babel geführt waren, {~} {~}
40:7 Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;
40:8 kamen sie zu Gedalja gen Mizpa, nämlich Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, Johanan und Jonathan, die Söhne Kareahs, und Seraja, der Sohn Thanhumeths, und die Söhne Ephais von Netopha und Jesanja, der Sohn eines Maachathiters, samt ihren Männern.
40:8 Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
40:9 Und Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, tat ihnen und ihren Männern einen Eid und sprach: Fürchtet euch nicht, daß ihr den Chaldäern untertan sein sollt; bleibt im Lande und seid dem König zu Babel untertan, so wird's euch wohl gehen.
40:9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
40:10 Siehe, ich wohne hier zu Mizpa, daß ich den Chaldäern diene, die zu uns kommen; darum sammelt ein Wein und Feigen und Öl und legt's in eure Gefäße und wohnt in euren Städten, die ihr bekommen habt. {~}
40:10 As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, which will come unto us: but all of you, gather all of you wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that all of you have taken.
40:11 Auch allen Juden, so im Lande Moab und der Kinder Ammon und in Edom und in allen Ländern waren, da sie hörten, daß der König zu Babel hätte lassen etliche in Juda übrigbleiben und über sie gesetzt Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans,
40:11 Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan;
40:12 kamen sie alle wieder von allen Orten dahin sie verstoßen waren, in das Land Juda zu Gedalja gen Mizpa und sammelten ein sehr viel Wein und Sommerfrüchte. {~}
40:12 Even all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.
40:13 Aber Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, samt allen Hauptleuten, so auf dem Felde sich gehalten hatten, kamen zu Gedalja gen Mizpa{~}
40:13 Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,
40:14 und sprachen zu ihm: Weißt du auch, daß Baalis, der König der Kinder Ammon, gesandt hat Ismael, den Sohn Nethanjas, daß er dich soll erschlagen? Das wollte ihnen aber Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, nicht glauben.
40:14 And said unto him, Do you certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.
40:15 Da sprach Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, zu Gedalja heimlich zu Mizpa: Ich will hingehen und Ismael, den Sohn Nethanjas, erschlagen, daß es niemand erfahren soll. Warum soll er dich erschlagen, daß alle Juden, so zu dir versammelt sind, zerstreut werden und die noch aus Juda übriggeblieben sind, umkommen?
40:15 Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly saying, Let me go, I pray you, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay you, that all the Jews which are gathered unto you should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?
40:16 Aber Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, sprach zu Johanan, dem Sohn Kareahs: Du sollst das nicht tun; es ist nicht wahr, was du von Ismael sagst.
40:16 But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing: for you speak falsely of Ishmael.
