39.1 Je disais: Je veillerai sur mes voies, De peur de pécher par ma langue; Je mettrai un frein à ma bouche, Tant que le méchant sera devant moi.
39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
39.2 Je suis resté muet, dans le silence; Je me suis tu, quoique malheureux; Et ma douleur n'était pas moins vive.
39:2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
39.3 Mon coeur brûlait au dedans de moi, Un feu intérieur me consumait, Et la parole est venue sur ma langue.
39:3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spoke I with my tongue,
39.4 Éternel! dis-moi quel est le terme de ma vie, Quelle est la mesure de mes jours; Que je sache combien je suis fragile.
39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
39.5 Voici, tu as donné à mes jours la largeur de la main, Et ma vie est comme un rien devant toi. Oui, tout homme debout n'est qu'un souffle. -Pause.
39:5 Behold, you have made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before you: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
39.6 Oui, l'homme se promène comme une ombre, Il s'agite vainement; Il amasse, et il ne sait qui recueillera.
39:6 Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not who shall gather them.
39.7 Maintenant, Seigneur, que puis-je espérer? En toi est mon espérance.
39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in you.
39.8 Délivre-moi de toutes mes transgressions! Ne me rends pas l'opprobre de l'insensé!
39:8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
39.9 Je reste muet, je n'ouvre pas la bouche, Car c'est toi qui agis.
39:9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because you did it.
39.10 Détourne de moi tes coups! Je succombe sous les attaques de ta main.
39:10 Remove your stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of yours hand.
39.11 Tu châties l'homme en le punissant de son iniquité, Tu détruis comme la teigne ce qu'il a de plus cher. Oui, tout homme est un souffle. -Pause.
39:11 When you with rebukes do correct man for iniquity, you make his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
39.12 Écoute ma prière, Éternel, et prête l'oreille à mes cris! Ne sois pas insensible à mes larmes! Car je suis un étranger chez toi, Un habitant, comme tous mes pères.
39:12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with you, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
39.13 Détourne de moi le regard, et laisse-moi respirer, Avant que je m'en aille et que ne sois plus!
39:13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go behind, and be no more.
Psaumes 40 / Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume.
40.1 J'avais mis en l'Éternel mon espérance; Et il s'est incliné vers moi, il a écouté mes cris.
40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
40.2 Il m'a retiré de la fosse de destruction, Du fond de la boue; Et il a dressé mes pieds sur le roc, Il a affermi mes pas.
40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my activities.
40.3 Il a mis dans ma bouche un cantique nouveau, Une louange à notre Dieu; Beaucoup l'ont vu, et ont eu de la crainte, Et ils se sont confiés en l'Éternel.
40:3 And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
40.4 Heureux l'homme qui place en l'Éternel sa confiance, Et qui ne se tourne pas vers les hautains et les menteurs!
40:4 Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
40.5 Tu as multiplié, Éternel, mon Dieu! Tes merveilles et tes desseins en notre faveur; Nul n'est comparable à toi; Je voudrais les publier et les proclamer, Mais leur nombre est trop grand pour que je les raconte.
40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto you: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
40.6 Tu ne désires ni sacrifice ni offrande, Tu m'as ouvert les oreilles; Tu ne demandes ni holocauste ni victime expiatoire.
40:6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire; mine ears have you opened: burnt offering and sin offering have you not required.
40.7 Alors je dis: Voici, je viens Avec le rouleau du livre écrit pour moi.
40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
40.8 Je veux faire ta volonté, mon Dieu! Et ta loi est au fond de mon coeur.
40:8 I delight to do your will, O my God: yea, your law is within my heart.
40.9 J'annonce la justice dans la grande assemblée; Voici, je ne ferme pas mes lèvres, Éternel, tu le sais!
40:9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, you know.
40.10 Je ne retiens pas dans mon coeur ta justice, Je publie ta vérité et ton salut; Je ne cache pas ta bonté et ta fidélité Dans la grande assemblée.
40:10 I have not hid your righteousness within my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation: I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation.
40.11 Toi, Éternel! tu ne me refuseras pas tes compassions; Ta bonté et ta fidélité me garderont toujours.
40:11 Withhold not you your tender mercies from me, O LORD: let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
40.12 Car des maux sans nombre m'environnent; Les châtiments de mes iniquités m'atteignent, Et je ne puis en supporter la vue; Ils sont plus nombreux que les cheveux de ma tête, Et mon courage m'abandonne.
40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart fails me.
40.13 Veuille me délivrer, ô Éternel! Éternel, viens en hâte à mon secours!
40:13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
40.14 Que tous ensemble ils soient honteux et confus, Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie pour l'enlever! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, Ceux qui désirent ma perte!
40:14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
40.15 Qu'ils soient dans la stupeur par l'effet de leur honte, Ceux qui me disent: Ah! ah!
40:15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
40.16 Que tous ceux qui te cherchent Soient dans l'allégresse et se réjouissent en toi! Que ceux qui aiment ton salut Disent sans cesse: Exalté soit l'Éternel!
40:16 Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you: let such as love your salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
40.17 Moi, je suis pauvre et indigent; Mais le Seigneur pense à moi. Tu es mon aide et mon libérateur: Mon Dieu, ne tarde pas!
40:17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me: you are my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
Psaumes 41 / Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David.
41.1 Heureux celui qui s'intéresse au pauvre! Au jour du malheur l'Éternel le délivre;
41:1 Blessed is he that considers the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
41.2 L'Éternel le garde et lui conserve la vie. Il est heureux sur la terre, Et tu ne le livres pas au bon plaisir de ses ennemis.
41:2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and you will not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
41.3 L'Éternel le soutient sur son lit de douleur; Tu le soulages dans toutes ses maladies.
41:3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: you will make all his bed in his sickness.
41.4 Je dis: Éternel, aie pitié de moi! Guéris mon âme! car j'ai péché contre toi.
41:4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against you.
41.5 Mes ennemis disent méchamment de moi: Quand mourra-t-il? quand périra son nom?
41:5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
41.6 Si quelqu'un vient me voir, il prend un langage faux, Il recueille des sujets de médire; Il s'en va, et il parle au dehors.
41:6 And if he comes to see me, he speaks vanity: his heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes abroad, he tells it.
41.7 Tous mes ennemis chuchotent entre eux contre moi; Ils pensent que mon malheur causera ma ruine:
41:7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
41.8 Il est dangereusement atteint, Le voilà couché, il ne se relèvera pas!
41:8 An evil disease, say they, cleaves fast unto him: and now that he lies he shall rise up no more.
41.9 Celui-là même avec qui j'étais en paix, Qui avait ma confiance et qui mangeait mon pain, Lève le talon contre moi.
41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
41.10 Toi, Éternel, aie pitié de moi et rétablis-moi! Et je leur rendrai ce qui leur est dû.
41:10 But you, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
41.11 Je connaîtrai que tu m'aimes, Si mon ennemi ne triomphe pas de moi.
41:11 By this I know that you favour me, because mine enemy does not triumph over me.
41.12 Tu m'as soutenu à cause de mon intégrité, Et tu m'as placé pour toujours en ta présence.
41:12 And as for me, you uphold me in mine integrity, and set me before your face for ever.
41.13 Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, d'éternité en éternité! Amen! Amen!
41:13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
Psaumes 42 / Au chef des chantres. Cantique des fils de Koré.
42.1 Comme une biche soupire après des courants d'eau, Ainsi mon âme soupire après toi, ô Dieu!
42:1 As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God.
42.2 Mon âme a soif de Dieu, du Dieu vivant: Quand irai-je et paraîtrai-je devant la face de Dieu?
42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
42.3 Mes larmes sont ma nourriture jour et nuit, Pendant qu'on me dit sans cesse: Où est ton Dieu?
42:3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is your God?
42.4 Je me rappelle avec effusion de coeur Quand je marchais entouré de la foule, Et que je m'avançais à sa tête vers la maison de Dieu, Au milieu des cris de joie et des actions de grâces D'une multitude en fête.
42:4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
42.5 Pourquoi t'abats-tu, mon âme, et gémis-tu au dedans de moi? Espère en Dieu, car je le louerai encore; Il est mon salut et mon Dieu.
42:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted in me? hope you in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
42.6 Mon âme est abattue au dedans de moi: Aussi c'est à toi que je pense, depuis le pays du Jourdain, Depuis l'Hermon, depuis la montagne de Mitsear.
42:6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember you from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
42.7 Un flot appelle un autre flot au bruit de tes ondées; Toutes tes vagues et tous tes flots passent sur moi.
42:7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterspouts: all your waves and your billows are gone over me.
42.8 Le jour, l'Éternel m'accordait sa grâce; La nuit, je chantais ses louanges, J'adressais une prière au Dieu de ma vie.
42:8 Yet the LORD will command his loving kindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
42.9 Je dis à Dieu, mon rocher: Pourquoi m'oublies-tu? Pourquoi dois-je marcher dans la tristesse, Sous l'oppression de l'ennemi?
42:9 I will say unto God my rock, Why have you forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
42.10 Mes os se brisent quand mes persécuteurs m'outragent, En me disant sans cesse: Où est ton Dieu?
42:10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is your God?
42.11 Pourquoi t'abats-tu, mon âme, et gémis-tu au dedans de moi? Espère en Dieu, car je le louerai encore; Il est mon salut et mon Dieu.
42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? hope you in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
43.1 Rends-moi justice, ô Dieu, défends ma cause contre une nation infidèle! Délivre-moi des hommes de fraude et d'iniquité!
43:1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
43.2 Toi, mon Dieu protecteur, pourquoi me repousses-tu? Pourquoi dois-je marcher dans la tristesse, Sous l'oppression de l'ennemi?
43:2 For you are the God of my strength: why do you cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
43.3 Envoie ta lumière et ta fidélité! Qu'elles me guident, Qu'elles me conduisent à ta montagne sainte et à tes demeures!
43:3 O send out your light and your truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto your holy hill, and to your tabernacles.
43.4 J'irai vers l'autel de Dieu, de Dieu, ma joie et mon allégresse, Et je te célébrerai sur la harpe, ô Dieu, mon Dieu!
43:4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise you, O God my God.
43.5 Pourquoi t'abats-tu, mon âme, et gémis-tu au dedans de moi? Espère en Dieu, car je le louerai encore; Il est mon salut et mon Dieu.
43:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

44.1 O Dieu! nous avons entendu de nos oreilles, Nos pères nous ont raconté Les oeuvres que tu as accomplies de leur temps, Aux jours d'autrefois.
44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.
44.2 De ta main tu as chassé des nations pour les établir, Tu as frappé des peuples pour les étendre.
44:2 How you did drive out the heathen with your hand, and planted them; how you did afflict the people, and cast them out.
44.3 Car ce n'est point par leur épée qu'ils se sont emparés du pays, Ce n'est point leur bras qui les a sauvés; Mais c'est ta droite, c'est ton bras, c'est la lumière de ta face, Parce que tu les aimais.
44:3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but your right hand, and yours arm, and the light of your countenance, because you had a favour unto them.
44.4 O Dieu! tu es mon roi: Ordonne la délivrance de Jacob!
44:4 You are my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
44.5 Avec toi nous renversons nos ennemis, Avec ton nom nous écrasons nos adversaires.
44:5 Through you will we push down our enemies: through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
44.6 Car ce n'est pas en mon arc que je me confie, Ce n'est pas mon épée qui me sauvera;
44:6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
44.7 Mais c'est toi qui nous délivres de nos ennemis, Et qui confonds ceux qui nous haïssent.
44:7 But you have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame that hated us.
44.8 Nous nous glorifions en Dieu chaque jour, Et nous célébrerons à jamais ton nom. -Pause.
44:8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise your name for ever. Selah.
44.9 Cependant tu nous repousses, tu nous couvres de honte, Tu ne sors plus avec nos armées;
44:9 But you have cast off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.
44.10 Tu nous fais reculer devant l'ennemi, Et ceux qui nous haïssent enlèvent nos dépouilles.
44:10 You make us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
44.11 Tu nous livres comme des brebis à dévorer, Tu nous disperses parmi les nations.
44:11 You have given us like sheep appointed for food; and have scattered us among the heathen.
44.12 Tu vends ton peuple pour rien, Tu ne l'estimes pas à une grande valeur.
44:12 You sell your people for nothing, and do not increase your wealth by their price.
44.13 Tu fais de nous un objet d'opprobre pour nos voisins, De moquerie et de risée pour ceux qui nous entourent;
44:13 You make us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
44.14 Tu fais de nous un objet de sarcasme parmi les nations, Et de hochements de tête parmi les peuples.
44:14 You make us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
44.15 Ma honte est toujours devant moi, Et la confusion couvre mon visage,
44:15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,
44.16 A la voix de celui qui m'insulte et m'outrage, A la vue de l'ennemi et du vindicatif.
44:16 For the voice of him that reproaches and blasphemes; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
44.17 Tout cela nous arrive, sans que nous t'ayons oublié, Sans que nous ayons violé ton alliance:
44:17 All this has come upon us; yet have we not forgotten you, neither have we dealt falsely in your covenant.
44.18 Notre coeur ne s'est point détourné, Nos pas ne se sont point éloignés de ton sentier,
44:18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from your way;
44.19 Pour que tu nous écrases dans la demeure des chacals, Et que tu nous couvres de l'ombre de la mort.
44:19 Though you have sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
44.20 Si nous avions oublié le nom de notre Dieu, Et étendu nos mains vers un dieu étranger,
44:20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
44.21 Dieu ne le saurait-il pas, Lui qui connaît les secrets du coeur?
44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knows the secrets of the heart.
44.22 Mais c'est à cause de toi qu'on nous égorge tous les jours, Qu'on nous regarde comme des brebis destinées à la boucherie.
44:22 Yea, for your sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
44.23 Réveille-toi! Pourquoi dors-tu, Seigneur? Réveille-toi! ne nous repousse pas à jamais!
44:23 Awake, why sleep you, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
44.24 Pourquoi caches-tu ta face? Pourquoi oublies-tu notre misère et notre oppression?
44:24 Wherefore hide you your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
44.25 Car notre âme est abattue dans la poussière, Notre corps est attaché à la terre.
44:25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaves unto the earth.
44.26 Lève-toi, pour nous secourir! Délivre-nous à cause de ta bonté!
44:26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies' sake.

45.1 Des paroles pleines de charme bouillonnent dans mon coeur. Je dis: Mon oeuvre est pour le roi! Que ma langue soit comme la plume d'un habile écrivain!
45:1 My heart is composing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made concerning the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
45.2 Tu es le plus beau des fils de l'homme, La grâce est répandue sur tes lèvres: C'est pourquoi Dieu t'a béni pour toujours.
45:2 You are fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into your lips: therefore God has blessed you for ever.
45.3 Vaillant guerrier, ceins ton épée, -Ta parure et ta gloire,
45:3 Gird your sword upon your thigh, O most mighty, with your glory and your majesty.
45.4 Oui, ta gloire! -Sois vainqueur, monte sur ton char, Défends la vérité, la douceur et la justice, Et que ta droite se signale par de merveilleux exploits!
45:4 And in your majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and your right hand shall teach you terrible things.
45.5 Tes flèches sont aiguës; Des peuples tomberont sous toi; Elles perceront le coeur des ennemis du roi.
45:5 Yours arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under you.
45.6 Ton trône, ô Dieu, est à toujours; Le sceptre de ton règne est un sceptre d'équité.
45:6 Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of your kingdom is a right sceptre.
45.7 Tu aimes la justice, et tu hais la méchanceté: C'est pourquoi, ô Dieu, ton Dieu t'a oint D'une huile de joie, par privilège sur tes collègues.
45:7 You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.
45.8 La myrrhe, l'aloès et la casse parfument tous tes vêtements; Dans les palais d'ivoire les instruments à cordes te réjouissent.
45:8 All your garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made you glad.
45.9 Des filles de rois sont parmi tes bien-aimées; La reine est à ta droite, parée d'or d'Ophir.
45:9 Kings' daughters were among your honourable women: upon your right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
45.10 Écoute, ma fille, vois, et prête l'oreille; Oublie ton peuple et la maison de ton père.
45:10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline yours ear; forget also yours own people, and your father's house;
45.11 Le roi porte ses désirs sur ta beauté; Puisqu'il est ton seigneur, rends-lui tes hommages.
45:11 So shall the king greatly desire your beauty: for he is your Lord; and worship you him.
45.12 Et, avec des présents, la fille de Tyr, Les plus riches du peuple rechercheront ta faveur.
45:12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall implore your favour.
45.13 Toute resplendissante est la fille du roi dans l'intérieur du palais; Elle porte un vêtement tissu d'or.
45:13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
45.14 Elle est présentée au roi, vêtue de ses habits brodés, Et suivie des jeunes filles, ses compagnes, qui sont amenées auprès de toi;
45:14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto you.
45.15 On les introduit au milieu des réjouissances et de l'allégresse, Elles entrent dans le palais du roi.
45:15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
45.16 Tes enfants prendront la place de tes pères; Tu les établiras princes dans tout le pays.
45:16 Instead of your fathers shall be your children, whom you may make princes in all the earth.
45.17 Je rappellerai ton nom dans tous les âges: Aussi les peuples te loueront éternellement et à jamais.
45:17 I will make your name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise you for ever and ever.
Psaumes 46 / Au chef des chantres. Des fils de Koré. Sur alamoth. Cantique.
46.1 Dieu est pour nous un refuge et un appui, Un secours qui ne manque jamais dans la détresse.
46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
46.2 C'est pourquoi nous sommes sans crainte quand la terre est bouleversée, Et que les montagnes chancellent au coeur des mers,
46:2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
46.3 Quand les flots de la mer mugissent, écument, Se soulèvent jusqu'à faire trembler les montagnes. -Pause.
46:3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
46.4 Il est un fleuve dont les courants réjouissent la cité de Dieu, Le sanctuaire des demeures du Très Haut.
46:4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

48.2 Belle est la colline, joie de toute la terre, la montagne de Sion; Le côté septentrional, c'est la ville du grand roi.
48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

49:9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
49.10 Car ils la verront: les sages meurent, L'insensé et le stupide périssent également, Et ils laissent à d'autres leurs biens.
49:10 For he sees that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

49:11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

49:12 Nevertheless man being in honour abides not: he is like the beasts that perish.

50:1 The mighty God, even the LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
50.2 De Sion, beauté parfaite, Dieu resplendit.
50:2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined.
50.3 Il vient, notre Dieu, il ne reste pas en silence; Devant lui est un feu dévorant, Autour de lui une violente tempête.
50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
50.4 Il crie vers les cieux en haut, Et vers la terre, pour juger son peuple:
50:4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
50.5 Rassemblez-moi mes fidèles, Qui ont fait alliance avec moi par le sacrifice! -
50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
50.6 Et les cieux publieront sa justice, Car c'est Dieu qui est juge. -Pause.

50:9 I will take no bullock out of your house, nor he goats out of your folds.

50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
50.11 Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes, Et tout ce qui se meut dans les champs m'appartient.
50:11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
50.12 Si j'avais faim, je ne te le dirais pas, Car le monde est à moi et tout ce qu'il renferme.
50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof.
50.13 Est-ce que je mange la chair des taureaux? Est-ce que je bois le sang des boucs?
50:13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

50:16 But unto the wicked God says, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in your mouth?

50:17 Seeing you hate instruction, and casts my words behind you.
50.18 Si tu vois un voleur, tu te plais avec lui, Et ta part est avec les adultères.

50:19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit.

50:20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander yours own mother's son.
50.21 Voilà ce que tu as fait, et je me suis tu. Tu t'es imaginé que je te ressemblais; Mais je vais te reprendre, et tout mettre sous tes yeux.
50:21 These things have you done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such an one as yourself: but I will reprove you, and set them in order before yours eyes.
50.22 Prenez-y donc garde, vous qui oubliez Dieu, De peur que je ne déchire, sans que personne délivre.
50:22 Now consider this, all of you that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

50:23 Whoso offers praise glorifies me: and to him that orders his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.

51.1 O Dieu! aie pitié de moi dans ta bonté; Selon ta grande miséricorde, efface mes transgressions;
51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
51.2 Lave-moi complètement de mon iniquité, Et purifie-moi de mon péché.
51:2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
51.3 Car je reconnais mes transgressions, Et mon péché est constamment devant moi.
51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
51.4 J'ai péché contre toi seul, Et j'ai fait ce qui est mal à tes yeux, En sorte que tu seras juste dans ta sentence, Sans reproche dans ton jugement.
51:4 Against you, you only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight: that you might be justified when you speak, and be clear when you judge.

51:5 Behold, I was formed in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
51.6 Mais tu veux que la vérité soit au fond du coeur: Fais donc pénétrer la sagesse au dedans de moi!
51:6 Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.
51.7 Purifie-moi avec l'hysope, et je serai pur; Lave-moi, et je serai plus blanc que la neige.
51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
51.8 Annonce-moi l'allégresse et la joie, Et les os que tu as brisés se réjouiront.
51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which you have broken may rejoice.
51.9 Détourne ton regard de mes péchés, Efface toutes mes iniquités.
51:9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
51.10 O Dieu! crée en moi un coeur pur, Renouvelle en moi un esprit bien disposé.
51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
51.11 Ne me rejette pas loin de ta face, Ne me retire pas ton esprit saint.
51:11 Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your holy spirit from me.

51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
51.18 Répands par ta grâce tes bienfaits sur Sion, Bâtis les murs de Jérusalem!
51:18 Do good in your good pleasure unto Zion: build you the walls of Jerusalem.
51.19 Alors tu agréeras des sacrifices de justice, Des holocaustes et des victimes tout entières; Alors on offrira des taureaux sur ton autel.
51:19 Then shall you be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon yours altar.

52.1 Pourquoi te glorifies-tu de ta méchanceté, tyran? La bonté de Dieu subsiste toujours.
52:1 Why boast you yourself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endures continually.
52.2 Ta langue n'invente que malice, comme un rasoir affilé, fourbe que tu es!
52:2 The tongue devises evil; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
52.3 Tu aimes le mal plutôt que le bien, Le mensonge plutôt que la droiture. -Pause.
52:3 You love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
52.4 Tu aimes toutes les paroles de destruction, Langue trompeuse!
52:4 You love all devouring words, O you deceitful tongue.

52:5 God shall likewise destroy you for ever, he shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

52:7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
52.8 Et moi, je suis dans la maison de Dieu comme un olivier verdoyant, Je me confie dans la bonté de Dieu, éternellement et à jamais.
52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
52.9 Je te louerai toujours, parce que tu as agi; Et je veux espérer en ton nom, parce qu'il est favorable, En présence de tes fidèles.
52:9 I will praise you for ever, because you have done it: and I will wait on your name; for it is good before your saints.

53.1 L'insensé dit en son coeur: Il n'y a point de Dieu! Ils se sont corrompus, ils ont commis des iniquités abominables; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien.
53:1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good.
53.2 Dieu, du haut des cieux, regarde les fils de l'homme, Pour voir s'il y a quelqu'un qui soit intelligent, Qui cherche Dieu.
53:2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
53.3 Tous sont égarés, tous sont pervertis; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien, Pas même un seul.
53:3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that does good, no, not one.
53.4 Ceux qui commettent l'iniquité ont-ils perdu le sens? Ils dévorent mon peuple, ils le prennent pour nourriture; Ils n'invoquent point Dieu.
53:4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
53.5 Alors ils trembleront d'épouvante, Sans qu'il y ait sujet d'épouvante; Dieu dispersera les os de ceux qui campent contre toi; Tu les confondras, car Dieu les a rejetés.
53:5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God has scattered the bones of him that camps against you: you have put them to shame, because God has despised them.
53.6 Oh! qui fera partir de Sion la délivrance d'Israël? Quand Dieu ramènera les captifs de son peuple, Jacob sera dans l'allégresse, Israël se réjouira.
53:6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

54.1 O Dieu! sauve-moi par ton nom, Et rends-moi justice par ta puissance!
54:1 Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me by your strength.
54.2 O Dieu! écoute ma prière, Prête l'oreille aux paroles de ma bouche!
54:2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
54.3 Car des étrangers se sont levés contre moi, Des hommes violents en veulent à ma vie; Ils ne portent pas leurs pensées sur Dieu. -Pause.

55:2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;

55:3 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

55:11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.

55:12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
55.13 C'est toi, que j'estimais mon égal, Toi, mon confident et mon ami!
55:13 But it was you, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.
55.14 Ensemble nous vivions dans une douce intimité, Nous allions avec la foule à la maison de Dieu!
55:14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.
55.15 Que la mort les surprenne, Qu'ils descendent vivants au séjour des morts! Car la méchanceté est dans leur demeure, au milieu d'eux.
55:15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

55:16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

64.1 O Dieu, écoute ma voix, quand je gémis! Protège ma vie contre l'ennemi que je crains!
64:1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
64.2 Garantis-moi des complots des méchants, De la troupe bruyante des hommes iniques!
64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
64.3 Ils aiguisent leur langue comme un glaive, Ils lancent comme des traits leurs paroles amères,
64:3 Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
64.4 Pour tirer en cachette sur l'innocent; Ils tirent sur lui à l'improviste, et n'ont aucune crainte.
64:4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
64.5 Ils se fortifient dans leur méchanceté: Ils se concertent pour tendre des pièges, Ils disent: Qui les verra?
64:5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privately; they say, Who shall see them?
64.6 Ils méditent des crimes: Nous voici prêts, le plan est conçu! La pensée intime, le coeur de chacun est un abîme.
64:6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
64.7 Dieu lance contre eux ses traits: Soudain les voilà frappés.
64:7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
64.8 Leur langue a causé leur chute; Tous ceux qui les voient secouent la tête.
64:8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
64.9 Tous les hommes sont saisis de crainte, Ils publient ce que Dieu fait, Et prennent garde à son oeuvre.
64:9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
64.10 Le juste se réjouit en l'Éternel et cherche en lui son refuge, Tous ceux qui ont le coeur droit se glorifient.
64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
Psaumes 65 / Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David. Cantique.
65.1 Avec confiance, ô Dieu! on te louera dans Sion, Et l'on accomplira les voeux qu'on t'a faits.
65:1 Praise waits for you, O God, in Sion: and unto you shall the vow be performed.
65.2 O toi, qui écoutes la prière! Tous les hommes viendront à toi.
65:2 O you that hear prayer, unto you shall all flesh come.
65.3 Les iniquités m'accablent: Tu pardonneras nos transgressions.
65:3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, you shall purge them away.
65.4 Heureux celui que tu choisis et que tu admets en ta présence, Pour qu'il habite dans tes parvis! Nous nous rassasierons du bonheur de ta maison, De la sainteté de ton temple.
65:4 Blessed is the man whom you choose, and cause to approach unto you, that he may dwell in your courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, even of your holy temple.
65.5 Dans ta bonté, tu nous exauces par des prodiges, Dieu de notre salut, Espoir de toutes les extrémités lointaines de la terre et de la mer!
65:5 By terrible things in righteousness will you answer us, O God of our salvation; who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are far off upon the sea:
65.6 Il affermit les montagnes par sa force, Il est ceint de puissance;
65:6 Which by his strength sets fast the mountains; being girded with power:
65.7 Il apaise le mugissement des mers, le mugissement de leurs flots, Et le tumulte des peuples.
65:7 Which stills the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
65.8 Ceux qui habitent aux extrémités du monde s'effraient de tes prodiges; Tu remplis d'allégresse l'orient et l'occident.
65:8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at your tokens: you make the utmost limit of the morning and evening to rejoice.
65.9 Tu visites la terre et tu lui donnes l'abondance, Tu la combles de richesses; Le ruisseau de Dieu est plein d'eau; Tu prépares le blé, quand tu la fertilises ainsi.
65:9 You visit the earth, and water it: you greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water: you prepare them corn, when you have so provided for it.
65.10 En arrosant ses sillons, en aplanissant ses mottes, Tu la détrempes par des pluies, tu bénis son germe.
65:10 You water the ridges thereof abundantly: you settle the furrows thereof: you make it soft with showers: you bless the springing thereof.
65.11 Tu couronnes l'année de tes biens, Et tes pas versent l'abondance;
65:11 You crown the year with your goodness; and your paths drop fatness.
65.12 Les plaines du désert sont abreuvées, Et les collines sont ceintes d'allégresse;
65:12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
65.13 Les pâturages se couvrent de brebis, Et les vallées se revêtent de froment. Les cris de joie et les chants retentissent.
65:13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
Psaumes 66 / Au chef des chantres. Cantique. Psaume.
66.1 Poussez vers Dieu des cris de joie, Vous tous, habitants de la terre!
66:1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all you lands:
66.2 Chantez la gloire de son nom, Célébrez sa gloire par vos louanges!
66:2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
66.3 Dites à Dieu: Que tes oeuvres sont redoutables! A cause de la grandeur de ta force, tes ennemis te flattent.
66:3 Say unto God, How terrible are you in your works! through the greatness of your power shall yours enemies submit themselves unto you.
66.4 Toute la terre se prosterne devant toi et chante en ton honneur; Elle chante ton nom. -Pause.
66:4 All the earth shall worship you, and shall sing unto you; they shall sing to your name. Selah.
66.5 Venez et contemplez les oeuvres de Dieu! Il est redoutable quand il agit sur les fils de l'homme.
66:5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
66.6 Il changea la mer en une terre sèche, On traversa le fleuve à pied: Alors nous nous réjouîmes en lui.
66:6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
66.7 Il domine éternellement par sa puissance, Ses yeux observent les nations: Que les rebelles ne s'élèvent pas! -Pause.
66:7 He rules by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
66.8 Peuples, bénissez notre Dieu, Faites retentir sa louange!
66:8 O bless our God, all of you people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
66.9 Il a conservé la vie à notre âme, Et il n'a pas permis que notre pied chancelât.
66:9 Which holds our soul in life, and suffers not our feet to be moved.
66.10 Car tu nous as éprouvés, ô Dieu! Tu nous as fait passer au creuset comme l'argent.
66:10 For you, O God, have proved us: you have tried us, as silver is tried.
66.11 Tu nous as amenés dans le filet, Tu as mis sur nos reins un pesant fardeau,
66:11 You brought us into the net; you laid affliction upon our loins.
66.12 Tu as fait monter des hommes sur nos têtes; Nous avons passé par le feu et par l'eau. Mais tu nous en as tirés pour nous donner l'abondance.
66:12 You have caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but you brought us out into a wealthy place.
66.13 J'irai dans ta maison avec des holocaustes, J'accomplirai mes voeux envers toi:
66:13 I will go into your house with burnt offerings: I will pay you my vows,
66.14 Pour eux mes lèvres se sont ouvertes, Et ma bouche les a prononcés dans ma détresse.
66:14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth has spoken, when I was in trouble.
66.15 Je t'offrirai des brebis grasses en holocauste, Avec la graisse des béliers; Je sacrifierai des brebis avec des boucs. -Pause.
66:15 I will offer unto you burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
66.16 Venez, écoutez, vous tous qui craignez Dieu, et je raconterai Ce qu'il a fait à mon âme.
66:16 Come and hear, all you that fear God, and I will declare what he has done for my soul.
66.17 J'ai crié à lui de ma bouche, Et la louange a été sur ma langue.
66:17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
66.18 Si j'avais conçu l'iniquité dans mon coeur, Le Seigneur ne m'aurait pas exaucé.
66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
66.19 Mais Dieu m'a exaucé, Il a été attentif à la voix de ma prière.
66:19 But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
66.20 Béni soit Dieu, Qui n'a pas rejeté ma prière, Et qui ne m'a pas retiré sa bonté!
66:20 Blessed be God, which has not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Psaumes 67 / Au chef des chantres. Avec instruments à cordes. Psaume. Cantique.
67.1 Que Dieu ait pitié de nous et qu'il nous bénisse, Qu'il fasse luire sur nous sa face, -Pause.
67:1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
67.2 Afin que l'on connaisse sur la terre ta voie, Et parmi toutes les nations ton salut!
67:2 That your way may be known upon earth, your saving health among all nations.
67.3 Les peuples te louent, ô Dieu! Tous les peuples te louent.
67:3 Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you.
67.4 Les nations se réjouissent et sont dans l'allégresse; Car tu juges les peuples avec droiture, Et tu conduis les nations sur la terre. -Pause.
67:4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for you shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
67.5 Les peuples te louent, ô Dieu! Tous les peuples te louent.
67:5 Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you.
67.6 La terre donne ses produits; Dieu, notre Dieu, nous bénit.
67:6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
67.7 Dieu, nous bénit, Et toutes les extrémités de la terre le craignent.
67:7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
Psaumes 68 / Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume. Cantique.
68.1 Dieu se lève, ses ennemis se dispersent, Et ses adversaires fuient devant sa face.
68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
68.2 Comme la fumée se dissipe, tu les dissipes; Comme la cire se fond au feu, Les méchants disparaissent devant Dieu.
68:2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
68.3 Mais les justes se réjouissent, ils triomphent devant Dieu, Ils ont des transports d'allégresse.
68:3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
68.4 Chantez à Dieu, célébrez son nom! Frayez le chemin à celui qui s'avance à travers les plaines! L'Éternel est son nom: réjouissez-vous devant lui!
68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
68.5 Le père des orphelins, le défenseur des veuves, C'est Dieu dans sa demeure sainte.
68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
68.6 Dieu donne une famille à ceux qui étaient abandonnés, Il délivre les captifs et les rend heureux; Les rebelles seuls habitent des lieux arides.
68:6 God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
68.7 O Dieu! quand tu sortis à la tête de ton peuple, Quand tu marchais dans le désert, -Pause.
68:7 O God, when you went forth before your people, when you did march through the wilderness; Selah:
68.8 La terre trembla, les cieux se fondirent devant Dieu, Le Sinaï s'ébranla devant Dieu, le Dieu d'Israël.
68:8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
68.9 Tu fis tomber une pluie bienfaisante, ô Dieu! Tu fortifias ton héritage épuisé.
68:9 You, O God, did send a plentiful rain, whereby you did confirm yours inheritance, when it was weary.
68.10 Ton peuple établit sa demeure dans le pays Que ta bonté, ô Dieu! tu avais préparé pour les malheureux.
68:10 Your congregation has dwelt therein: you, O God, have prepared of your goodness for the poor.
68.11 Le Seigneur dit une parole, Et les messagères de bonnes nouvelles sont une grande armée: -
68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
68.12 Les rois des armées fuient, fuient, Et celle qui reste à la maison partage le butin.
68:12 Kings of armies did flee swiftly: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.
68.13 Tandis que vous reposez au milieu des étables, Les ailes de la colombe sont couvertes d'argent, Et son plumage est d'un jaune d'or. -
68:13 Though all of you have lien among the pots, yet shall all of you be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.
68.14 Lorsque le Tout Puissant dispersa les rois dans le pays, La terre devint blanche comme la neige du Tsalmon.
68:14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.
68.15 Montagnes de Dieu, montagnes de Basan, Montagnes aux cimes nombreuses, montagnes de Basan,
68:15 The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.
68.16 Pourquoi, montagnes aux cimes nombreuses, avez-vous de l'envie Contre la montagne que Dieu a voulue pour résidence? L'Éternel n'en fera pas moins sa demeure à perpétuité.
68:16 Why leap all of you, all of you high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
68.17 Les chars de l'Éternel se comptent par vingt mille, Par milliers et par milliers; Le Seigneur est au milieu d'eux, le Sinaï est dans le sanctuaire.
68:17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
68.18 Tu es monté dans les hauteurs, tu as emmené des captifs, Tu as pris en don des hommes; Les rebelles habiteront aussi près de l'Éternel Dieu.
68:18 You have ascended on high, you have led captivity captive: you have received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
68.19 Béni soit le Seigneur chaque jour! Quand on nous accable, Dieu nous délivre. -Pause.
68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
68.20 Dieu est pour nous le Dieu des délivrances, Et l'Éternel, le Seigneur, peut nous garantir de la mort.
68:20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.
68.21 Oui, Dieu brisera la tête de ses ennemis, Le sommet de la tête de ceux qui vivent dans le péché.
68:21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goes on still in his trespasses.
68.22 Le Seigneur dit: Je les ramènerai de Basan, Je les ramènerai du fond de la mer,
68:22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:
68.23 Afin que tu plonges ton pied dans le sang, Et que la langue de tes chiens ait sa part des ennemis.
68:23 That your foot may be dipped in the blood of yours enemies, and the tongue of your dogs in the same.
68.24 Ils voient ta marche, ô Dieu! La marche de mon Dieu, de mon roi, dans le sanctuaire.
68:24 They have seen your activities, O God; even the activities of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.
68.25 En tête vont les chanteurs, puis ceux qui jouent des instruments, Au milieu de jeunes filles battant du tambourin.
68:25 The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.
68.26 Bénissez Dieu dans les assemblées, Bénissez le Seigneur, descendants d'Israël!
68:26 Bless all of you God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.
68.27 Là sont Benjamin, le plus jeune, qui domine sur eux, Les chefs de Juda et leur troupe, Les chefs de Zabulon, les chefs de Nephthali.
68:27 There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
68.28 Ton Dieu ordonne que tu sois puissant; Affermis, ô Dieu, ce que tu as fait pour nous!
68:28 Your God has commanded your strength: strengthen, O God, that which you have wrought for us.
68.29 De ton temple tu règnes sur Jérusalem; Les rois t'apporteront des présents.
68:29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto you.
68.30 Épouvante l'animal des roseaux, La troupe des taureaux avec les veaux des peuples, Qui se prosternent avec des pièces d'argent! Disperse les peuples qui prennent plaisir à combattre!
68:30 Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter you the people that delight in war.
68.31 Des grands viennent de l'Égypte; L'Éthiopie accourt, les mains tendues vers Dieu.
68:31 Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.
68.32 Royaumes de la terre, chantez à Dieu, Célébrez le Seigneur! -Pause.
68:32 Sing unto God, all of you kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:
68.33 Chantez à celui qui s'avance dans les cieux, les cieux éternels! Voici, il fait entendre sa voix, sa voix puissante.
68:33 To him that rides upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he does send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.
68.34 Rendez gloire à Dieu! Sa majesté est sur Israël, et sa force dans les cieux.
68:34 Ascribe all of you strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
68.35 De ton sanctuaire, ô Dieu! tu es redoutable. Le Dieu d'Israël donne à son peuple la force et la puissance. Béni soit Dieu!
68:35 O God, you are terrible out of your holy places: the God of Israel is he that gives strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
Psaumes 69 / Au chef des chantres. Sur les lis. De David.
69.1 Sauve-moi, ô Dieu! Car les eaux menacent ma vie.
69:1 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
69.2 J'enfonce dans la boue, sans pouvoir me tenir; Je suis tombé dans un gouffre, et les eaux m'inondent.
69:2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
69.3 Je m'épuise à crier, mon gosier se dessèche, Mes yeux se consument, tandis que je regarde vers mon Dieu.
69:3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
69.4 Ils sont plus nombreux que les cheveux de ma tête, Ceux qui me haïssent sans cause; Ils sont puissants, ceux qui veulent me perdre, Qui sont à tort mes ennemis. Ce que je n'ai pas dérobé, il faut que je le restitue.
69:4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
69.5 O Dieu! tu connais ma folie, Et mes fautes ne te sont point cachées.
69:5 O God, you know my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from you.
69.6 Que ceux qui espèrent en toi ne soient pas confus à cause de moi, Seigneur, Éternel des armées! Que ceux qui te cherchent ne soient pas dans la honte à cause de moi, Dieu d'Israël!
69:6 Let not them that wait on you, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek you be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
69.7 Car c'est pour toi que je porte l'opprobre, Que la honte couvre mon visage;
69:7 Because for your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face.
69.8 Je suis devenu un étranger pour mes frères, Un inconnu pour les fils de ma mère.
69:8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an foreigner unto my mother's children.
69.9 Car le zèle de ta maison me dévore, Et les outrages de ceux qui t'insultent tombent sur moi.
69:9 For the zeal of yours house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached you are fallen upon me.
69.10 Je verse des larmes et je jeûne, Et c'est ce qui m'attire l'opprobre;
69:10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
69.11 Je prends un sac pour vêtement, Et je suis l'objet de leurs sarcasmes.
69:11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
69.12 Ceux qui sont assis à la porte parlent de moi, Et les buveurs de liqueurs fortes me mettent en chansons.
69:12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.
69.13 Mais je t'adresse ma prière, ô Éternel! Que ce soit le temps favorable, ô Dieu, par ta grande bonté! Réponds-moi, en m'assurant ton secours!
69:13 But as for me, my prayer is unto you, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the truth of your salvation.
69.14 Retire-moi de la boue, et que je n'enfonce plus! Que je sois délivré de mes ennemis et du gouffre!
69:14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
69.15 Que les flots ne m'inondent plus, Que l'abîme ne m'engloutisse pas, Et que la fosse ne se ferme pas sur moi!
69:15 Let not the flood of waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
69.16 Exauce-moi, Éternel! car ta bonté est immense. Dans tes grandes compassions, tourne vers moi les regards,
69:16 Hear me, O LORD; for your loving kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.
69.17 Et ne cache pas ta face à ton serviteur! Puisque je suis dans la détresse, hâte-toi de m'exaucer!
69:17 And hide not your face from your servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
69.18 Approche-toi de mon âme, délivre-la! Sauve-moi, à cause de mes ennemis!
69:18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
69.19 Tu connais mon opprobre, ma honte, mon ignominie; Tous mes adversaires sont devant toi.
69:19 You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before you.
69.20 L'opprobre me brise le coeur, et je suis malade; J'attends de la pitié, mais en vain, Des consolateurs, et je n'en trouve aucun.
69:20 Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
69.21 Ils mettent du fiel dans ma nourriture, Et, pour apaiser ma soif, ils m'abreuvent de vinaigre.
69:21 They gave me also gall for my food; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
69.22 Que leur table soit pour eux un piège, Et un filet au sein de leur sécurité!
69:22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
69.23 Que leurs yeux s'obscurcissent et ne voient plus, Et fais continuellement chanceler leurs reins!
69:23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
69.24 Répands sur eux ta colère, Et que ton ardente fureur les atteigne!
69:24 Pour out yours indignation upon them, and let your wrathful anger take hold of them.
69.25 Que leur demeure soit dévastée, Qu'il n'y ait plus d'habitants dans leurs tentes!
69:25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
69.26 Car ils persécutent celui que tu frappes, Ils racontent les souffrances de ceux que tu blesses.
69:26 For they persecute him whom you have smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom you have wounded.
69.27 Ajoute des iniquités à leurs iniquités, Et qu'ils n'aient point part à ta miséricorde!
69:27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into your righteousness.
69.28 Qu'ils soient effacés du livre de vie, Et qu'ils ne soient point inscrits avec les justes!
69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
69.29 Moi, je suis malheureux et souffrant: O Dieu, que ton secours me relève!
69:29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
69.30 Je célébrerai le nom de Dieu par des cantiques, Je l'exalterai par des louanges.
69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
69.31 Cela est agréable à l'Éternel, plus qu'un taureau Avec des cornes et des sabots.

70.2 Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, ceux qui désirent ma perte!
70:2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
70.3 Qu'ils retournent en arrière par l'effet de leur honte, Ceux qui disent: Ah! ah!
70:3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
70.4 Que tous ceux qui te cherchent Soient dans l'allégresse et se réjouissent en toi! Que ceux qui aiment ton salut Disent sans cesse: Exalté soit Dieu!
70:4 Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you: and let such as love your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
70.5 Moi, je suis pauvre et indigent: O Dieu, hâte-toi en ma faveur! Tu es mon aide et mon libérateur: Éternel, ne tarde pas!
70:5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: you are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
71.1 Éternel! je cherche en toi mon refuge: Que jamais je ne sois confondu!
71:1 In you, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
71.2 Dans ta justice, sauve-moi et délivre-moi! Incline vers moi ton oreille, et secours-moi!
71:2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline yours ear unto me, and save me.

71:3 Be you my strong habitation, unto which I may continually resort: you have given commandment to save me; for you are my rock and my fortress.

71:4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

71:5 For you are my hope, O Lord GOD: you are my trust from my youth.

71:11 Saying, God has forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
71.12 O Dieu, ne t'éloigne pas de moi! Mon Dieu, viens en hâte à mon secours!
71:12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
71.13 Qu'ils soient confus, anéantis, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie! Qu'ils soient couverts de honte et d'opprobre, ceux qui cherchent ma perte!
71:13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
71.14 Et moi, j'espérerai toujours, Je te louerai de plus en plus.
71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise you more and more.
71.15 Ma bouche publiera ta justice, ton salut, chaque jour, Car j'ignore quelles en sont les bornes.
71:15 My mouth shall show forth your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.
71.16 Je dirai tes oeuvres puissantes, Seigneur Éternel! Je rappellerai ta justice, la tienne seule.
71:16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours only.
71.17 O Dieu! tu m'as instruit dès ma jeunesse, Et jusqu'à présent j'annonce tes merveilles.
71:17 O God, you have taught me from my youth: and until now have I declared your wondrous works.
71.18 Ne m'abandonne pas, ô Dieu! même dans la blanche vieillesse, Afin que j'annonce ta force à la génération présente, Ta puissance à la génération future!
71:18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come.
71.19 Ta justice, ô Dieu! atteint jusqu'au ciel; Tu as accompli de grandes choses: ô Dieu! qui est semblable à toi?
71:19 Your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who have done great things: O God, who is like unto you!
71.20 Tu nous as fait éprouver bien des détresses et des malheurs; Mais tu nous redonneras la vie, Tu nous feras remonter des abîmes de la terre.
71:20 You, which have showed me great and sore troubles, shall restore life in me again, and shall bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
71.21 Relève ma grandeur, Console-moi de nouveau!
71:21 You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

72.3 Les montagnes porteront la paix pour le peuple, Et les collines aussi, par l'effet de ta justice.

72:4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
72.5 On te craindra, tant que subsistera le soleil, Tant que paraîtra la lune, de génération en génération.
72:5 They shall fear you as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
72.6 Il sera comme une pluie qui tombe sur un terrain fauché, Comme des ondées qui arrosent la campagne.
72:6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
72.7 En ses jours le juste fleurira, Et la paix sera grande jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y ait plus de lune.
72:7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.
72.8 Il dominera d'une mer à l'autre, Et du fleuve aux extrémités de la terre.
72:8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
72.9 Devant lui, les habitants du désert fléchiront le genou, Et ses ennemis lécheront la poussière.
72:9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
72.10 Les rois de Tarsis et des îles paieront des tributs, Les rois de Séba et de Saba offriront des présents.
72:10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
72.11 Tous les rois se prosterneront devant lui, Toutes les nations le serviront.
72:11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
72.12 Car il délivrera le pauvre qui crie, Et le malheureux qui n'a point d'aide.

72.16 Les blés abonderont dans le pays, au sommet des montagnes, Et leurs épis s'agiteront comme les arbres du Liban; Les hommes fleuriront dans les villes comme l'herbe de la terre.
72:16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
72.17 Son nom subsistera toujours, Aussi longtemps que le soleil son nom se perpétuera; Par lui on se bénira mutuellement, Et toutes les nations le diront heureux.
72:17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
72.18 Béni soit l'Éternel Dieu, le Dieu d'Israël, qui seul fait des prodiges!
72:18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only does wondrous things.

73.1 Oui, Dieu est bon pour Israël, Pour ceux qui ont le coeur pur.
73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
73.2 Toutefois, mon pied allait fléchir, Mes pas étaient sur le point de glisser;
73:2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
73.3 Car je portais envie aux insensés, En voyant le bonheur des méchants.
73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
73.4 Rien ne les tourmente jusqu'à leur mort, Et leur corps est chargé d'embonpoint;
73:4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
73.5 Ils n'ont aucune part aux souffrances humaines, Ils ne sont point frappés comme le reste des hommes.
73:5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
73.6 Aussi l'orgueil leur sert de collier, La violence est le vêtement qui les enveloppe;
73:6 Therefore pride compasses them about as a chain; violence covers them as a garment.
73.7 L'iniquité sort de leurs entrailles, Les pensées de leur coeur se font jour.
73:7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
73.8 Ils raillent, et parlent méchamment d'opprimer; Ils profèrent des discours hautains,
73:8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
73.9 Ils élèvent leur bouche jusqu'aux cieux, Et leur langue se promène sur la terre.
73:9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth.
73.10 Voilà pourquoi son peuple se tourne de leur côté, Il avale l'eau abondamment,
73:10 Therefore his people return here: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
73.11 Et il dit: Comment Dieu saurait-il, Comment le Très haut connaîtrait-il?
73:11 And they say, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
73.12 Ainsi sont les méchants: Toujours heureux, ils accroissent leurs richesses.
73:12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
73.13 C'est donc en vain que j'ai purifié mon coeur, Et que j'ai lavé mes mains dans l'innocence:
73:13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence.
73.14 Chaque jour je suis frappé, Tous les matins mon châtiment est là.
73:14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
73.15 Si je disais: Je veux parler comme eux, Voici, je trahirais la race de tes enfants.
73:15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of your children.
73.16 Quand j'ai réfléchi là-dessus pour m'éclairer, La difficulté fut grande à mes yeux,
73:16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
73.17 Jusqu'à ce que j'eusse pénétré dans les sanctuaires de Dieu, Et que j'eusse pris garde au sort final des méchants.
73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
73.18 Oui, tu les places sur des voies glissantes, Tu les fais tomber et les mets en ruines.
73:18 Surely you did set them in slippery places: you casted them down into destruction.
73.19 Eh quoi! en un instant les voilà détruits! Ils sont enlevés, anéantis par une fin soudaine!
73:19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
73.20 Comme un songe au réveil, Seigneur, à ton réveil, tu repousses leur image.
73:20 As a dream when one awakes; so, O Lord, when you awake, you shall despise their image.
73.21 Lorsque mon coeur s'aigrissait, Et que je me sentais percé dans les entrailles,
73:21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
73.22 J'étais stupide et sans intelligence, J'étais à ton égard comme les bêtes.
73:22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before you.
73.23 Cependant je suis toujours avec toi, Tu m'as saisi la main droite;
73:23 Nevertheless I am continually with you: you have held me by my right hand.
73.24 Tu me conduiras par ton conseil, Puis tu me recevras dans la gloire.
73:24 You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
73.25 Quel autre ai-je au ciel que toi! Et sur la terre je ne prends plaisir qu'en toi.
73:25 Whom have I in heaven but you? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside you.
73.26 Ma chair et mon coeur peuvent se consumer: Dieu sera toujours le rocher de mon coeur et mon partage.

74.1 Pourquoi, ô Dieu! rejettes-tu pour toujours? Pourquoi t'irrites-tu contre le troupeau de ton pâturage?
74:1 O God, why have you cast us off for ever? why does yours anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?
74.2 Souviens-toi de ton peuple que tu as acquis autrefois, Que tu as racheté comme la tribu de ton héritage! Souviens-toi de la montagne de Sion, où tu faisais ta résidence;
74:2 Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old; the rod of yours inheritance, which you have redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein you have dwelt.
74.3 Porte tes pas vers ces lieux constamment dévastés! L'ennemi a tout ravagé dans le sanctuaire.
74:3 Lift up your feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary.
74.4 Tes adversaires ont rugi au milieu de ton temple; Ils ont établi pour signes leurs signes.
74:4 Yours enemies roar in the midst of your congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
74.5 On les a vus, pareils à celui qui lève La cognée dans une épaisse forêt;
74:5 A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
74.6 Et bientôt ils ont brisé toutes les sculptures, A coups de haches et de marteaux.
74:6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
74.7 Ils ont mis le feu à ton sanctuaire; Ils ont abattu, profané la demeure de ton nom.
74:7 They have cast fire into your sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of your name to the ground.
74.8 Ils disaient en leur coeur: Traitons-les tous avec violence! Ils ont brûlé dans le pays tous les lieux saints.
74:8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
74.9 Nous ne voyons plus nos signes; Il n'y a plus de prophète, Et personne parmi nous qui sache jusqu'à quand...
74:9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knows how long.
74.10 Jusqu'à quand, ô Dieu! l'oppresseur outragera-t-il, L'ennemi méprisera-t-il sans cesse ton nom?
74:10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme your name for ever?
74.11 Pourquoi retires-tu ta main et ta droite? Sors-la de ton sein! détruis!
74:11 Why withdraw you your hand, even your right hand? pluck it out of your bosom.
74.12 Dieu est mon roi dès les temps anciens, Lui qui opère des délivrances au milieu de la terre.
74:12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
74.13 Tu as fendu la mer par ta puissance, Tu as brisé les têtes des monstres sur les eaux;
74:13 You did divide the sea by your strength: you brake the heads of the dragons in the waters.
74.14 Tu as écrasé la tête du crocodile, Tu l'as donné pour nourriture au peuple du désert.
74:14 You brake the heads of leviathan (p. sea serpent) in pieces, and gave him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
74.15 Tu as fait jaillir des sources et des torrents. Tu as mis à sec des fleuves qui ne tarissent point.
74:15 You did cleave the fountain and the flood: you dried up mighty rivers.
74.16 A toi est le jour, à toi est la nuit; Tu as créé la lumière et le soleil.
74:16 The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun.
74.17 Tu as fixé toutes les limites de la terre, Tu as établi l'été et l'hiver.
74:17 You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter.
74.18 Souviens-toi que l'ennemi outrage l'Éternel, Et qu'un peuple insensé méprise ton nom!
74:18 Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed your name.
74.19 Ne livre pas aux bêtes l'âme de ta tourterelle, N'oublie pas à toujours la vie de tes malheureux!
74:19 O deliver not the soul of your turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of your poor for ever.
74.20 Aie égard à l'alliance! Car les lieux sombres du pays sont pleins de repaires de brigands.
74:20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
74.21 Que l'opprimé ne retourne pas confus! Que le malheureux et le pauvre célèbrent ton nom!
74:21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise your name.
74.22 Lève-toi, ô Dieu! défends ta cause! Souviens-toi des outrages que te fait chaque jour l'insensé!
74:22 Arise, O God, plead yours own cause: remember how the foolish man reproaches you daily.
74.23 N'oublie pas les clameurs de tes adversaires, Le tumulte sans cesse croissant de ceux qui s'élèvent contre toi!
74:23 Forget not the voice of yours enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually.

75.1 Nous te louons, ô Dieu! nous te louons; Ton nom est dans nos bouches; Nous publions tes merveilles.
75:1 Unto you, O God, do we give thanks, unto you do we give thanks: for that your name is near your wondrous works declare.
75.2 Au temps que j'aurai fixé, Je jugerai avec droiture.
75:2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
75.3 La terre tremble avec tous ceux qui l'habitent: Moi, j'affermis ses colonnes. -Pause.
75:3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

76:11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
