77.1 Ma voix s'élève à Dieu, et je crie; Ma voix s'élève à Dieu, et il m'écoutera.
77:1 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
77.2 Au jour de ma détresse, je cherche le Seigneur; La nuit, mes mains sont étendues sans se lasser; Mon âme refuse toute consolation.
77:2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
77.3 Je me souviens de Dieu, et je gémis; Je médite, et mon esprit est abattu. -Pause.
77:3 I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
77.4 Tu tiens mes paupières en éveil; Et, dans mon trouble, je ne puis parler.
77:4 You hold mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
77.5 Je pense aux jours anciens, Aux années d'autrefois.
77:5 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
77.6 Je pense à mes cantiques pendant la nuit, Je fais des réflexions au dedans de mon coeur, Et mon esprit médite.
77:6 I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
77.7 Le Seigneur rejettera-t-il pour toujours? Ne sera-t-il plus favorable?
77:7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
77.8 Sa bonté est-elle à jamais épuisée? Sa parole est-elle anéantie pour l'éternité?
77:8 Is his mercy clean gone for ever? does his promise fail for evermore?
77.9 Dieu a-t-il oublié d'avoir compassion? A-t-il, dans sa colère, retiré sa miséricorde? -Pause.
77:9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? has he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
77.10 Je dis: Ce qui fait ma souffrance, C'est que la droite du Très Haut n'est plus la même...
77:10 And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
77.11 Je rappellerai les oeuvres de l'Éternel, Car je me souviens de tes merveilles d'autrefois;
77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember your wonders of old.
77.12 Je parlerai de toutes tes oeuvres, Je raconterai tes hauts faits.
77:12 I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings.
77.13 O Dieu! tes voies sont saintes; Quel dieu est grand comme Dieu?
77:13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
77.14 Tu es le Dieu qui fait des prodiges; Tu as manifesté parmi les peuples ta puissance.
77:14 You are the God that do wonders: you have declared your strength among the people.
77.15 Par ton bras tu as délivré ton peuple, Les fils de Jacob et de Joseph. -Pause.
77:15 You have with yours arm redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
77.16 Les eaux t'ont vu, ô Dieu! Les eaux t'ont vu, elles ont tremblé; Les abîmes se sont émus.
77:16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
77.17 Les nuages versèrent de l'eau par torrents, Le tonnerre retentit dans les nues, Et tes flèches volèrent de toutes parts.
77:17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: yours arrows also went abroad.
77.18 Ton tonnerre éclata dans le tourbillon, Les éclairs illuminèrent le monde; La terre s'émut et trembla.
77:18 The voice of your thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
77.19 Tu te frayas un chemin par la mer, Un sentier par les grandes eaux, Et tes traces ne furent plus reconnues.
77:19 Your way is in the sea, and your path in the great waters, and your footsteps are not known.
77.20 Tu as conduit ton peuple comme un troupeau, Par la main de Moïse et d'Aaron.
77:20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Psaumes 78 / Cantique d'Asaph.
78.1 Mon peuple, écoute mes instructions! Prêtez l'oreille aux paroles de ma bouche!
78:1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
78.2 J'ouvre la bouche par des sentences, Je publie la sagesse des temps anciens.
78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
78.3 Ce que nous avons entendu, ce que nous savons, Ce que nos pères nous ont raconté,
78:3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
78.4 Nous ne le cacherons point à leurs enfants; Nous dirons à la génération future les louanges de l'Éternel, Et sa puissance, et les prodiges qu'il a opérés.
78:4 We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done.
78.5 Il a établi un témoignage en Jacob, Il a mis une loi en Israël, Et il a ordonné à nos pères de l'enseigner à leurs enfants,
78:5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
78.6 Pour qu'elle fût connue de la génération future, Des enfants qui naîtraient, Et que, devenus grands, ils en parlassent à leurs enfants,
78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
78.7 Afin qu'ils missent en Dieu leur confiance, Qu'ils n'oubliassent pas les oeuvres de Dieu, Et qu'ils observassent ses commandements,
78:7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
78.8 Afin qu'ils ne fussent pas, comme leurs pères, Une race indocile et rebelle, Une race dont le coeur n'était pas ferme, Et dont l'esprit n'était pas fidèle à Dieu.
78:8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
78.9 Les fils d'Éphraïm, armés et tirant de l'arc, Tournèrent le dos le jour du combat.
78:9 The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
78.10 Ils ne gardèrent point l'alliance de Dieu, Et ils refusèrent de marcher selon sa loi.
78:10 They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
78.11 Ils mirent en oubli ses oeuvres, Ses merveilles qu'il leur avait fait voir.
78:11 And forgotten about his works, and his wonders that he had showed them.
78.12 Devant leurs pères il avait fait des prodiges, Au pays d'Égypte, dans les campagnes de Tsoan.
78:12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
78.13 Il fendit la mer et leur ouvrit un passage, Il fit dresser les eaux comme une muraille.
78:13 He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.
78.14 Il les conduisit le jour par la nuée, Et toute la nuit par un feu éclatant.
78:14 In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
78.15 Il fendit des rochers dans le désert, Et il donna à boire comme des flots abondants;
78:15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
78.16 Du rocher il fit jaillir des sources, Et couler des eaux comme des fleuves.
78:16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
78.17 Mais ils continuèrent à pécher contre lui, A se révolter contre le Très Haut dans le désert.
78:17 And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.
78.18 Ils tentèrent Dieu dans leur coeur, En demandant de la nourriture selon leur désir.
78:18 And they tempted God in their heart by asking food for their lust.
78.19 Ils parlèrent contre Dieu, Ils dirent: Dieu pourrait-il Dresser une table dans le désert?
78:19 Yea, they spoke against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
78.20 Voici, il a frappé le rocher, et des eaux ont coulé, Et des torrents se sont répandus; Pourra-t-il aussi donner du pain, Ou fournir de la viande à son peuple?
78:20 Behold, he stroke the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
78.21 L'Éternel entendit, et il fut irrité; Un feu s'alluma contre Jacob, Et la colère s'éleva contre Israël,
78:21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was angry: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
78.22 Parce qu'ils ne crurent pas en Dieu, Parce qu'ils n'eurent pas confiance dans son secours.
78:22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
78.23 Il commanda aux nuages d'en haut, Et il ouvrit les portes des cieux;
78:23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,
78.24 Il fit pleuvoir sur eux la manne pour nourriture, Il leur donna le blé du ciel.
78:24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.
78.25 Ils mangèrent tous le pain des grands, Il leur envoya de la nourriture à satiété.
78:25 Man did eat angels' food: he sent them food to the full.
78.26 Il fit souffler dans les cieux le vent d'orient, Et il amena par sa puissance le vent du midi;
78:26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.
78.27 Il fit pleuvoir sur eux la viande comme de la poussière, Et comme le sable des mers les oiseaux ailés;
78:27 He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like the sand of the sea:
78.28 Il les fit tomber au milieu de leur camp, Tout autour de leurs demeures.
78:28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.
78.29 Ils mangèrent et se rassasièrent abondamment: Dieu leur donna ce qu'ils avaient désiré.
78:29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;
78.30 Ils n'avaient pas satisfait leur désir, Ils avaient encore leur nourriture dans la bouche,
78:30 They were not cut off from their lust. But while their food was yet in their mouths,
78.31 Lorsque la colère de Dieu s'éleva contre eux; Il frappa de mort les plus vigoureux, Il abattit les jeunes hommes d'Israël.
78:31 The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and stroke down the chosen men of Israel.
78.32 Malgré tout cela, ils continuèrent à pécher, Et ne crurent point à ses prodiges.
78:32 For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
78.33 Il consuma leurs jours par la vanité, Et leurs années par une fin soudaine.
78:33 Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
78.34 Quand il les frappait de mort, ils le cherchaient, Ils revenaient et se tournaient vers Dieu;
78:34 When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.
78.35 Ils se souvenaient que Dieu était leur rocher, Que le Dieu Très Haut était leur libérateur.
78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
78.36 Mais ils le trompaient de la bouche, Et ils lui mentaient de la langue;
78:36 Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.
78.37 Leur coeur n'était pas ferme envers lui, Et ils n'étaient pas fidèles à son alliance.
78:37 For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.
78.38 Toutefois, dans sa miséricorde, il pardonne l'iniquité et ne détruit pas; Il retient souvent sa colère et ne se livre pas à toute sa fureur.
78:38 But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
78.39 Il se souvint qu'ils n'étaient que chair, Un souffle qui s'en va et ne revient pas.
78:39 For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and comes not again.
78.40 Que de fois ils se révoltèrent contre lui dans le désert! Que de fois ils l'irritèrent dans la solitude!
78:40 How often did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!
78.41 Ils ne cessèrent de tenter Dieu, Et de provoquer le Saint d'Israël.
78:41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
78.42 Ils ne se souvinrent pas de sa puissance, Du jour où il les délivra de l'ennemi,
78:42 They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.
78.43 Des miracles qu'il accomplit en Égypte, Et de ses prodiges dans les campagnes de Tsoan.
78:43 How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan.
78.44 Il changea leurs fleuves en sang, Et ils ne purent en boire les eaux.
78:44 And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.
78.45 Il envoya contre eux des mouches venimeuses qui les dévorèrent, Et des grenouilles qui les détruisirent.
78:45 He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
78.46 Il livra leurs récoltes aux sauterelles, Le produit de leur travail aux sauterelles.
78:46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labour unto the locust.
78.47 Il fit périr leurs vignes par la grêle, Et leurs sycomores par la gelée.
78:47 He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.
78.48 Il abandonna leur bétail à la grêle, Et leurs troupeaux au feu du ciel.
78:48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
78.49 Il lança contre eux son ardente colère, La fureur, la rage et la détresse, Une troupe de messagers de malheur.
78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
78.50 Il donna libre cours à sa colère, Il ne sauva pas leur âme de la mort, Il livra leur vie à la mortalité;
78:50 He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;
78.51 Il frappa tous les premiers-nés en Égypte, Les prémices de la force sous les tentes de Cham.
78:51 And stroke all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:
78.52 Il fit partir son peuple comme des brebis, Il les conduisit comme un troupeau dans le désert.
78:52 But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
78.53 Il les dirigea sûrement, pour qu'ils fussent sans crainte, Et la mer couvrit leurs ennemis.
78:53 And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
78.54 Il les amena vers sa frontière sainte, Vers cette montagne que sa droite a acquise.
78:54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.
78.55 Il chassa devant eux les nations, Leur distribua le pays en héritage, Et fit habiter dans leurs tentes les tribus d'Israël.
78:55 He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
78.56 Mais ils tentèrent le Dieu Très Haut et se révoltèrent contre lui, Et ils n'observèrent point ses ordonnances.
78:56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
78.57 Ils s'éloignèrent et furent infidèles, comme leurs pères, Ils tournèrent, comme un arc trompeur.
78:57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
78.58 Ils l'irritèrent par leurs hauts lieux, Et ils excitèrent sa jalousie par leurs idoles.
78:58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
78.59 Dieu entendit, et il fut irrité; Il repoussa fortement Israël.
78:59 When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel:
78.60 Il abandonna la demeure de Silo, La tente où il habitait parmi les hommes;
78:60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;
78.61 Il livra sa gloire à la captivité, Et sa majesté entre les mains de l'ennemi.
78:61 And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.
78.62 Il mit son peuple à la merci du glaive, Et il s'indigna contre son héritage.
78:62 He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was angry with his inheritance.
78.63 Le feu dévora ses jeunes hommes, Et ses vierges ne furent pas célébrées;
78:63 The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.
78.64 Ses sacrificateurs tombèrent par l'épée, Et ses veuves ne pleurèrent pas.
78:64 Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.
78.65 Le Seigneur s'éveilla comme celui qui a dormi, Comme un héros qu'a subjugué le vin.
78:65 Then the LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine.
78.66 Il frappa ses adversaires en fuite, Il les couvrit d'un opprobre éternel.
78:66 And he stroke his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
78.67 Cependant il rejeta la tente de Joseph, Et il ne choisit point la tribu d'Éphraïm;
78:67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
78.68 Il préféra la tribu de Juda, La montagne de Sion qu'il aimait.
78:68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.
78.69 Et il bâtit son sanctuaire comme les lieux élevés, Comme la terre qu'il a fondée pour toujours.
78:69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he has established for ever.
78.70 Il choisit David, son serviteur, Et il le tira des bergeries;
78:70 He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:
78.71 Il le prit derrière les brebis qui allaitent, Pour lui faire paître Jacob, son peuple, Et Israël, son héritage.
78:71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
78.72 Et David les dirigea avec un coeur intègre, Et les conduisit avec des mains intelligentes.
78:72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
79.1 O Dieu! les nations ont envahi ton héritage, Elles ont profané ton saint temple, Elles ont fait de Jérusalem un monceau de pierres.
79:1 O god, the heathen are come into yours inheritance; your holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
79.2 Elles ont livré les cadavres de tes serviteurs En pâture aux oiseaux du ciel, La chair de tes fidèles aux bêtes de la terre;
79:2 The dead bodies of your servants have they given to be food unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of your saints unto the beasts of the earth.
79.3 Elles ont versé leur sang comme de l'eau Tout autour de Jérusalem, Et il n'y a eu personne pour les enterrer.
79:3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
79.4 Nous sommes devenus un objet d'opprobre pour nos voisins, De moquerie et de risée pour ceux qui nous entourent.
79:4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
79.5 Jusques à quand, Éternel! t'irriteras-tu sans cesse, Et ta colère s'embrasera-t-elle comme le feu?
79:5 How long, LORD? will you be angry for ever? shall your jealousy burn like fire?
79.6 Répands ta fureur sur les nations qui ne te connaissent pas, Et sur les royaumes qui n'invoquent pas ton nom!
79:6 Pour out your wrath upon the heathen that have not known you, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon your name.
79.7 Car on a dévoré Jacob, Et ravagé sa demeure.
79:7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
79.8 Ne te souviens plus de nos iniquités passées! Que tes compassions viennent en hâte au-devant de nous! Car nous sommes bien malheureux.
79:8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let your tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
79.9 Secours-nous, Dieu de notre salut, pour la gloire de ton nom! Délivre-nous, et pardonne nos péchés, à cause de ton nom!
79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for your name's sake.
79.10 Pourquoi les nations diraient-elles: Où est leur Dieu? Qu'on sache, en notre présence, parmi les nations, Que tu venges le sang de tes serviteurs, le sang répandu!
79:10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of your servants which is shed.
79.11 Que les gémissements des captifs parviennent jusqu'à toi! Par ton bras puissant sauve ceux qui vont périr!
79:11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you; according to the greatness of your power preserve you those that are appointed to die;
79.12 Rends à nos voisins sept fois dans leur sein Les outrages qu'ils t'ont faits, Seigneur!
79:12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached you, O Lord.
79.13 Et nous, ton peuple, le troupeau de ton pâturage, Nous te célébrerons éternellement; De génération en génération nous publierons tes louanges.
79:13 So we your people and sheep of your pasture will give you thanks for ever: we will show forth your praise to all generations.

80.1 Prête l'oreille, berger d'Israël, Toi qui conduis Joseph comme un troupeau! Parais dans ta splendeur, Toi qui es assis sur les chérubins!
80:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell between the cherubims, shine forth.
80.2 Devant Éphraïm, Benjamin et Manassé, réveille ta force, Et viens à notre secours!
80:2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up your strength, and come and save us.
80.3 O Dieu, relève-nous! Fais briller ta face, et nous serons sauvés!
80:3 Turn us again, O God, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
80.4 Éternel, Dieu des armées! Jusques à quand t'irriteras-tu contre la prière de ton peuple?
80:4 O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
80.5 Tu les nourris d'un pain de larmes. Tu les abreuves de larmes à pleine mesure.
80:5 You feed them with the bread of tears; and give them tears to drink in great measure.
80.6 Tu fais de nous un objet de discorde pour nos voisins, Et nos ennemis se raillent de nous.
80:6 You make us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
80.7 Dieu des armées, relève-nous! Fais briller ta face, et nous serons sauvés!
80:7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
80.8 Tu avais arraché de l'Égypte une vigne; Tu as chassé des nations, et tu l'as plantée.
80:8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt: you have cast out the heathen, and planted it.
80.9 Tu as fait place devant elle: Elle a jeté des racines et rempli la terre;
80:9 You prepared room before it, and did cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
80.10 Les montagnes étaient couvertes de son ombre, Et ses rameaux étaient comme des cèdres de Dieu;
80:10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
80.11 Elle étendait ses branches jusqu'à la mer, Et ses rejetons jusqu'au fleuve.
80:11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
80.12 Pourquoi as-tu rompu ses clôtures, En sorte que tous les passants la dépouillent?
80:12 Why have you then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
80.13 Le sanglier de la forêt la ronge, Et les bêtes des champs en font leur pâture.
80:13 The boar out of the wood does waste it, and the wild beast of the field does devour it.
80.14 Dieu des armées, reviens donc! Regarde du haut des cieux, et vois! considère cette vigne!
80:14 Return, we plead to you, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
80.15 Protège ce que ta droite a planté, Et le fils que tu t'es choisi!...
80:15 And the vineyard which your right hand has planted, and the branch that you made strong for yourself.
80.16 Elle est brûlée par le feu, elle est coupée! Ils périssent devant ta face menaçante.
80:16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
80.17 Que ta main soit sur l'homme de ta droite, Sur le fils de l'homme que tu t'es choisi!
80:17 Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand, upon the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
80.18 Et nous ne nous éloignerons plus de toi. Fais-nous revivre, et nous invoquerons ton nom.
80:18 So will not we go back from you: quicken us, and we will call upon your name.

80:19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.

81:3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
81.4 Car c'est une loi pour Israël, Une ordonnance du Dieu de Jacob.
81:4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

81:5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

81:6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.
81.7 Tu as crié dans la détresse, et je t'ai délivré; Je t'ai répondu dans la retraite du tonnerre; Je t'ai éprouvé près des eaux de Meriba. Pause.
81:7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder: I proved you at the waters of Meribah. Selah.
81.8 Écoute, mon peuple! et je t'avertirai; Israël, puisses-tu m'écouter!
81:8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto you: O Israel, if you will hearken unto me;
81.9 Qu'il n'y ait au milieu de toi point de dieu étranger! Ne te prosterne pas devant des dieux étrangers!
81:9 There shall no strange god be in you; neither shall you worship any strange god.
81.10 Je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t'ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte; Ouvre ta bouche, et je la remplirai.
81:10 I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt: open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
81.11 Mais mon peuple n'a point écouté ma voix, Israël ne m'a point obéi.
81:11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel refused me.
81.12 Alors je les ai livrés aux penchants de leur coeur, Et ils ont suivi leurs propres conseils.
81:12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
81.13 Oh! si mon peuple m'écoutait, Si Israël marchait dans mes voies!
81:13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
81.14 En un instant je confondrais leurs ennemis, Je tournerais ma main contre leurs adversaires;
81:14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
81.15 Ceux qui haïssent l'Éternel le flatteraient, Et le bonheur d'Israël durerait toujours;
81:15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
81.16 Je le nourrirais du meilleur froment, Et je le rassasierais du miel du rocher.
81:16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied you.
82.1 Dieu se tient dans l'assemblée de Dieu; Il juge au milieu des dieux.
82:1 God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods.
82.2 Jusques à quand jugerez-vous avec iniquité, Et aurez-vous égard à la personne des méchants? Pause.
82:2 How long will all of you judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
82.3 Rendez justice au faible et à l'orphelin, Faites droit au malheureux et au pauvre,
82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
82.4 Sauvez le misérable et l'indigent, Délivrez-les de la main des méchants.
82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

82:5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

82:6 I have said, All of you are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

83.1 O Dieu, ne reste pas dans le silence! Ne te tais pas, et ne te repose pas, ô Dieu!

83.2 Car voici, tes ennemis s'agitent, Ceux qui te haïssent lèvent la tête.
83:2 For, lo, yours enemies make a tumult: and they that hate you have lifted up the head.
83.3 Ils forment contre ton peuple des projets pleins de ruse, Et ils délibèrent contre ceux que tu protèges.
83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against your people, and consulted against your hidden ones.
83.4 Venez, disent-ils, exterminons-les du milieu des nations, Et qu'on ne se souvienne plus du nom d'Israël!
83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
83.5 Ils se concertent tous d'un même coeur, Ils font une alliance contre toi;
83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against you:
83.6 Les tentes d'Édom et les Ismaélites, Moab et les Hagaréniens,
83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
83.7 Guebal, Ammon, Amalek, Les Philistins avec les habitants de Tyr;
83:7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
83.8 L'Assyrie aussi se joint à eux, Elle prête son bras aux enfants de Lot. Pause.

84:2 My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God.
84.3 Le passereau même trouve une maison, Et l'hirondelle un nid où elle dépose ses petits... Tes autels, Éternel des armées! Mon roi et mon Dieu!
84:3 Yea, the sparrow has found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even yours altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
84.4 Heureux ceux qui habitent ta maison! Ils peuvent te célébrer encore. Pause.
84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in your house: they will be still praising you. Selah.
84.5 Heureux ceux qui placent en toi leur appui! Ils trouvent dans leur coeur des chemins tout tracés.
84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in you; in whose heart are the ways of them.
84.6 Lorsqu'ils traversent la vallée de Baca, Ils la transforment en un lieu plein de sources, Et la pluie la couvre aussi de bénédictions.
84:6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also fills the pools.

84:10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
84.11 Car l'Éternel Dieu est un soleil et un bouclier, L'Éternel donne la grâce et la gloire, Il ne refuse aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité.
84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
84.12 Éternel des armées! Heureux l'homme qui se confie en toi!
84:12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you.

85.1 Tu as été favorable à ton pays, ô Éternel! Tu as ramené les captifs de Jacob;
85:1 Lord, you have been favourable unto your land: you have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
85.2 Tu as pardonné l'iniquité de ton peuple, Tu as couvert tous ses péchés; Pause.
85:2 You have forgiven the iniquity of your people, you have covered all their sin. Selah.
85.3 Tu as retiré toute ta fureur, Tu es revenu de l'ardeur de ta colère.
85:3 You have taken away all your wrath: you have turned yourself from the fierceness of yours anger.
85.4 Rétablis-nous, Dieu de notre salut! Cesse ton indignation contre nous!
85:4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause yours anger toward us to cease.
85.5 T'irriteras-tu contre nous à jamais? Prolongeras-tu ta colère éternellement?
85:5 Will you be angry with us for ever? will you draw out yours anger to all generations?
85.6 Ne nous rendras-tu pas à la vie, Afin que ton peuple se réjouisse en toi?
85:6 Will you not revive us again: that your people may rejoice in you?
85.7 Éternel! fais-nous voir ta bonté, Et accorde-nous ton salut!
85:7 Show us your mercy, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.
85.8 J'écouterai ce que dit Dieu, l'Éternel; Car il parle de paix à son peuple et à ses fidèles, Pourvu qu'ils ne retombent pas dans la folie.
85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not return to folly.
85.9 Oui, son salut est près de ceux qui le craignent, Afin que la gloire habite dans notre pays.
85:9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
85.10 La bonté et la fidélité se rencontrent, La justice et la paix s'embrassent;
85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
85.11 La fidélité germe de la terre, Et la justice regarde du haut des cieux.
85:11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
85.12 L'Éternel aussi accordera le bonheur, Et notre terre donnera ses fruits.
85:12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

85:13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

87:3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah.

88.2 Que ma prière parvienne en ta présence! Prête l'oreille à mes supplications!
88:2 Let my prayer come before you: incline yours ear unto my cry;
88.3 Car mon âme est rassasiée de maux, Et ma vie s'approche du séjour des morts.
88:3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draws nigh unto the grave.
88.4 Je suis mis au rang de ceux qui descendent dans la fosse, Je suis comme un homme qui n'a plus de force.
88:4 I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that has no strength:

89:2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: your faithfulness shall you establish in the very heavens.

89:6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
89.7 Dieu est terrible dans la grande assemblée des saints, Il est redoutable pour tous ceux qui l'entourent.
89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

89:8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto you? or to your faithfulness round about you?
89.9 Tu domptes l'orgueil de la mer; Quand ses flots se soulèvent, tu les apaises.
89:9 You rule the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, you still them.
89.10 Tu écrasas l'Égypte comme un cadavre, Tu dispersas tes ennemis par la puissance de ton bras.
89:10 You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; you have scattered yours enemies with your strong arm.
89.11 C'est à toi qu'appartiennent les cieux et la terre, C'est toi qui as fondé le monde et ce qu'il renferme.
89:11 The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours: as for the world and the fullness thereof, you have founded them.
89.12 Tu as créé le nord et le midi; Le Thabor et l'Hermon se réjouissent à ton nom.
89:12 The north and the south you have created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name.
89.13 Ton bras est puissant, Ta main forte, ta droite élevée.
89:13 You have a mighty arm: strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.
89.14 La justice et l'équité sont la base de ton trône. La bonté et la fidélité sont devant ta face.
89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of your throne: mercy and truth shall go before your face.

89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance.

89.17 Car tu es la gloire de sa puissance; C'est ta faveur qui relève notre force.

89.19 Alors tu parlas dans une vision à ton bien-aimé, Et tu dis: J'ai prêté mon secours à un héros, J'ai élevé du milieu du peuple un jeune homme;
89:19 Then you spoke in vision to your holy one, and said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
89.20 J'ai trouvé David, mon serviteur, Je l'ai oint de mon huile sainte.
89:20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
89.21 Ma main le soutiendra, Et mon bras le fortifiera.
89:21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
89.22 L'ennemi ne le surprendra pas, Et le méchant ne l'opprimera point;
89:22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
89.23 J'écraserai devant lui ses adversaires, Et je frapperai ceux qui le haïssent.
89:23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

89.26 Lui, il m'invoquera: Tu es mon père, Mon Dieu et le rocher de mon salut!

89.27 Et moi, je ferai de lui le premier-né, Le plus élevé des rois de la terre.
89:27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

89:29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
89.30 Si ses fils abandonnent ma loi Et ne marchent pas selon ses ordonnances,
89:30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
89.31 S'ils violent mes préceptes Et n'observent pas mes commandements,
89:31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
89.32 Je punirai de la verge leurs transgressions, Et par des coups leurs iniquités;
89:32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
89.33 Mais je ne lui retirerai point ma bonté Et je ne trahirai pas ma fidélité,
89:33 Nevertheless my loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
89.34 Je ne violerai point mon alliance Et je ne changerai pas ce qui est sorti de mes lèvres.

90.2 Avant que les montagnes fussent nées, Et que tu eussent créé la terre et le monde, D'éternité en éternité tu es Dieu.
90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, before even you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
90.3 Tu fais rentrer les hommes dans la poussière, Et tu dis: Fils de l'homme, retournez!
90:3 You turn man to destruction; and says, Return, all of you children of men.
90.4 Car mille ans sont, à tes yeux, Comme le jour d'hier, quand il n'est plus, Et comme une veille de la nuit.
90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

90.8 Tu mets devant toi nos iniquités, Et à la lumière de ta face nos fautes cachées.
90:8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.
90.9 Tous nos jours disparaissent par ton courroux; Nous voyons nos années s'évanouir comme un son.
90:9 For all our days are passed away in your wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
90.10 Les jours de nos années s'élèvent à soixante-dix ans, Et, pour les plus robustes, à quatre-vingts ans; Et l'orgueil qu'ils en tirent n'est que peine et misère, Car il passe vite, et nous nous envolons.
90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
90.11 Qui prend garde à la force de ta colère, Et à ton courroux, selon la crainte qui t'est due?
90:11 Who knows the power of yours anger? even according to your fear, so is your wrath.
90.12 Enseigne-nous à bien compter nos jours, Afin que nous appliquions notre coeur à la sagesse.
90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
90.13 Reviens, Éternel! Jusques à quand?... Aie pitié de tes serviteurs!
90:13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent you concerning your servants.
90.14 Rassasie-nous chaque matin de ta bonté, Et nous serons toute notre vie dans la joie et l'allégresse.
90:14 O satisfy us early with your mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
90.15 Réjouis-nous autant de jours que tu nous as humiliés, Autant d'années que nous avons vu le malheur.
90:15 Make us glad according to the days wherein you have afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

90:16 Let your work appear unto your servants, and your glory unto their children.

90:17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish you the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish you it.
91.1 Celui qui demeure sous l'abri du Très Haut Repose à l'ombre du Tout Puissant.
91:1 He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
91.2 Je dis à l'Éternel: Mon refuge et ma forteresse, Mon Dieu en qui je me confie!
91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
91.3 Car c'est lui qui te délivre du filet de l'oiseleur, De la peste et de ses ravages.
91:3 Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the dangerous pestilence.
91.4 Il te couvrira de ses plumes, Et tu trouveras un refuge sous ses ailes; Sa fidélité est un bouclier et une cuirasse.
91:4 He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler.
91.5 Tu ne craindras ni les terreurs de la nuit, Ni la flèche qui vole de jour,
91:5 You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day;
91.6 Ni la peste qui marche dans les ténèbres, Ni la contagion qui frappe en plein midi.
91:6 Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

92.4 Tu me réjouis par tes oeuvres, ô Éternel! Et je chante avec allégresse l'ouvrage de tes mains.

92.10 Et tu me donnes la force du buffle; Je suis arrosé avec une huile fraîche.
92:10 But my horn shall you exalt like the horn of an unicorn (p. ox): I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
92.11 Mon oeil se plaît à contempler mes ennemis, Et mon oreille à entendre mes méchants adversaires.
92:11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
92.12 Les justes croissent comme le palmier, Ils s'élèvent comme le cèdre du Liban.
92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
92.13 Plantés dans la maison de l'Éternel, Ils prospèrent dans les parvis de notre Dieu;
92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
92.14 Ils portent encore des fruits dans la vieillesse, Ils sont pleins de sève et verdoyants,
92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
92.15 Pour faire connaître que l'Éternel est juste. Il est mon rocher, et il n'y a point en lui d'iniquité.
92:15 To show that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
93.1 L'Éternel règne, il est revêtu de majesté, L'Éternel est revêtu, il est ceint de force. Aussi le monde est ferme, il ne chancelle pas.
93:1 The LORD reigns, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he has girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.
93.2 Ton trône est établi dès les temps anciens; Tu existes de toute éternité.
93:2 Your throne is established of old: you are from everlasting.
93.3 Les fleuves élèvent, ô Éternel! Les fleuves élèvent leur voix, Les fleuves élèvent leurs ondes retentissantes.
93:3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
93.4 Plus que la voix des grandes, des puissantes eaux, Des flots impétueux de la mer, L'Éternel est puissant dans les lieux célestes.
93:4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
93.5 Tes témoignages sont entièrement véritables; La sainteté convient à ta maison, O Éternel! pour toute la durée des temps.
93:5 Your testimonies are very sure: holiness becomes yours house, O LORD, for ever.

94.4 Ils discourent, ils parlent avec arrogance; Tous ceux qui font le mal se glorifient.
94:4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
94.5 Éternel! ils écrasent ton peuple, Ils oppriment ton héritage;
94:5 They break in pieces your people, O LORD, and afflict yours heritage.
94.6 Ils égorgent la veuve et l'étranger, Ils assassinent les orphelins.
94:6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
94.7 Et ils disent: L'Éternel ne regarde pas, Le Dieu de Jacob ne fait pas attention!
94:7 Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
94.8 Prenez-y garde, hommes stupides! Insensés, quand serez-vous sages?
94:8 Understand, all of you brutish among the people: and all of you fools, when will all of you be wise?
94.9 Celui qui a planté l'oreille n'entendrait-il pas? Celui qui a formé l'oeil ne verrait-il pas?
94:9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
94.10 Celui qui châtie les nations ne punirait-il point, Lui qui donne à l'homme l'intelligence?
94:10 He that chastises the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teaches man knowledge, shall not he know?
94.11 L'Éternel connaît les pensées de l'homme, Il sait qu'elles sont vaines.
94:11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
94.12 Heureux l'homme que tu châties, ô Éternel! Et que tu instruis par ta loi,
94:12 Blessed is the man whom you chasten, O LORD, and teach him out of your law;
94.13 Pour le calmer aux jours du malheur, Jusqu'à ce que la fosse soit creusée pour le méchant!
94:13 That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be dug for the wicked.
94.14 Car l'Éternel ne délaisse pas son peuple, Il n'abandonne pas son héritage;
94:14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
94.15 Car le jugement sera conforme à la justice, Et tous ceux dont le coeur est droit l'approuveront.
94:15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
94.16 Qui se lèvera pour moi contre les méchants? Qui me soutiendra contre ceux qui font le mal?
94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
94.17 Si l'Éternel n'était pas mon secours, Mon âme serait bien vite dans la demeure du silence.
94:17 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
94.18 Quand je dis: Mon pied chancelle! Ta bonté, ô Éternel! me sert d'appui.
94:18 When I said, My foot slips; your mercy, O LORD, held me up.
94.19 Quand les pensées s'agitent en foule au dedans de moi, Tes consolations réjouissent mon âme.
94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me your comforts delight my soul.
94.20 Les méchants te feraient-ils siéger sur leur trône, Eux qui forment des desseins iniques en dépit de la loi?
94:20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by a law?
94.21 Ils se rassemblent contre la vie du juste, Et ils condamnent le sang innocent.
94:21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
94.22 Mais l'Éternel est ma retraite, Mon Dieu est le rocher de mon refuge.
94:22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
94.23 Il fera retomber sur eux leur iniquité, Il les anéantira par leur méchanceté; L'Éternel, notre Dieu, les anéantira.
94:23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
95.1 Venez, chantons avec allégresse à l'Éternel! Poussons des cris de joie vers le rocher de notre salut.
95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
95.2 Allons au-devant de lui avec des louanges, Faisons retentir des cantiques en son honneur!
95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
95.3 Car l'Éternel est un grand Dieu, Il est un grand roi au-dessus de tous les dieux.
95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
95.4 Il tient dans sa main les profondeurs de la terre, Et les sommets des montagnes sont à lui.
95:4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
95.5 La mer est à lui, c'est lui qui l'a faite; La terre aussi, ses mains l'ont formée.

95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
95.10 Pendant quarante ans j'eus cette race en dégoût, Et je dis: C'est un peuple dont le coeur est égaré; Ils ne connaissent pas mes voies.
95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
95.11 Aussi je jurai dans ma colère: Ils n'entreront pas dans mon repos!

96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
96.10 Dites parmi les nations: L'Éternel règne; Aussi le monde est ferme, il ne chancelle pas; L'Éternel juge les peuples avec droiture.
96:10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
96.11 Que les cieux se réjouissent, et que la terre soit dans l'allégresse, Que la mer retentisse avec tout ce qu'elle contient,
96:11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
96.12 Que la campagne s'égaie avec tout ce qu'elle renferme, Que tous les arbres des forêts poussent des cris de joie,
96:12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
96.13 Devant l'Éternel! Car il vient, Car il vient pour juger la terre; Il jugera le monde avec justice, Et les peuples selon sa fidélité.
96:13 Before the LORD: for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
97.1 L'Éternel règne: que la terre soit dans l'allégresse, Que les îles nombreuses se réjouissent!
97:1 The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
97.2 Les nuages et l'obscurité l'environnent, La justice et l'équité sont la base de son trône.
97:2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
97.3 Le feu marche devant lui, Et embrase à l'entour ses adversaires.
97:3 A fire goes before him, and burns up his enemies round about.
97.4 Ses éclairs illuminent le monde, La terre le voit et tremble;
97:4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
97.5 Les montagnes se fondent comme la cire devant l'Éternel, Devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.
97:5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
97.6 Les cieux publient sa justice, Et tous les peuples voient sa gloire.
97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
97.7 Ils sont confus, tous ceux qui servent les images, Qui se font gloire des idoles. Tous les dieux se prosternent devant lui.
97:7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all you gods.
97.8 Sion l'entend et se réjouit, Les filles de Juda sont dans l'allégresse, A cause de tes jugements, ô Éternel!
97:8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of your judgments, O LORD.
97.9 Car toi, Éternel! tu es le Très Haut sur toute la terre, Tu es souverainement élevé au-dessus de tous les dieux.
97:9 For you, LORD, are high above all the earth: you are exalted far above all gods.
97.10 Vous qui aimez l'Éternel, haïssez le mal! Il garde les âmes de ses fidèles, Il les délivre de la main des méchants.
97:10 All of you that love the LORD, hate evil: he perserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
97.11 La lumière est semée pour le juste, Et la joie pour ceux dont le coeur est droit.
97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
97.12 Justes, réjouissez-vous en l'Éternel, Et célébrez par vos louanges sa sainteté!

98.1 Chantez à l'Éternel un cantique nouveau! Car il a fait des prodiges. Sa droite et son bras saint lui sont venus en aide.
98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he has done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, has got him the victory.
98.2 L'Éternel a manifesté son salut, Il a révélé sa justice aux yeux des nations.
98:2 The LORD has made known his salvation: his righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
98.3 Il s'est souvenu de sa bonté et de sa fidélité envers la maison d'Israël, Toutes les extrémités de la terre ont vu le salut de notre Dieu.
98:3 He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
98.4 Poussez vers l'Éternel des cris de joie, Vous tous, habitants de la terre! Faites éclater votre allégresse, et chantez!
98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

101.2 Je prendrai garde à la voie droite. Quand viendras-tu à moi? Je marcherai dans l'intégrité de mon coeur, Au milieu de ma maison.
101:2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when will you come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
101.3 Je ne mettrai rien de mauvais devant mes yeux; Je hais la conduite des pécheurs; Elle ne s'attachera point à moi.
101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
101.4 Le coeur pervers s'éloignera de moi; Je ne veux pas connaître le méchant.
101:4 A perverse heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
101.5 Celui qui calomnie en secret son prochain, je l'anéantirai; Celui qui a des regards hautains et un coeur enflé, je ne le supporterai pas.
101:5 Whoso privately slanders his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that has an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
101.6 J'aurai les yeux sur les fidèles du pays, Pour qu'ils demeurent auprès de moi; Celui qui marche dans une voie intègre sera mon serviteur.
101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walks in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
101.7 Celui qui se livre à la fraude n'habitera pas dans ma maison; Celui qui dit des mensonges ne subsistera pas en ma présence.
101:7 He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that tells lies shall not tarry in my sight.
101.8 Chaque matin j'anéantirai tous les méchants du pays, Afin d'exterminer de la ville de l'Éternel Tous ceux qui commettent l'iniquité.
101:8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
Psaumes 102 / Prière d'un malheureux, lorsqu'il est abattu et qu'il répand sa plainte devant l'Éternel.
102.1 Éternel, écoute ma prière, Et que mon cri parvienne jusqu'à toi!
102:1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto you.
102.2 Ne me cache pas ta face au jour de ma détresse! Incline vers moi ton oreille quand je crie! Hâte-toi de m'exaucer!
102:2 Hide not your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline yours ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
102.3 Car mes jours s'évanouissent en fumée, Et mes os sont enflammés comme un tison.
102:3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
102.4 Mon coeur est frappé et se dessèche comme l'herbe; J'oublie même de manger mon pain.

102.16 Oui, l'Éternel rebâtira Sion, Il se montrera dans sa gloire.
102:16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
102.17 Il est attentif à la prière du misérable, Il ne dédaigne pas sa prière.
102:17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
102.18 Que cela soit écrit pour la génération future, Et que le peuple qui sera créé célèbre l'Éternel!
102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
102.19 Car il regarde du lieu élevé de sa sainteté; Du haut des cieux l'Éternel regarde sur la terre,
102:19 For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
102.20 Pour écouter les gémissements des captifs, Pour délivrer ceux qui vont périr,
102:20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
102.21 Afin qu'ils publient dans Sion le nom de l'Éternel, Et ses louanges dans Jérusalem,
102:21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
102.22 Quand tous les peuples s'assembleront, Et tous les royaumes, pour servir l'Éternel.
102:22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
102.23 Il a brisé ma force dans la route, Il a abrégé mes jours.
102:23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
102.24 Je dis: Mon Dieu, ne m'enlève pas au milieu de mes jours, Toi, dont les années durent éternellement!
102:24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: your years are throughout all generations.
102.25 Tu as anciennement fondé la terre, Et les cieux sont l'ouvrage de tes mains.
102:25 Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands.
102.26 Ils périront, mais tu subsisteras; Ils s'useront tous comme un vêtement; Tu les changeras comme un habit, et ils seront changés.
102:26 They shall perish, but you shall endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shall you change them, and they shall be changed:
102.27 Mais toi, tu restes le même, Et tes années ne finiront point.
102:27 But you are the same, and your years shall have no end.
102.28 Les fils de tes serviteurs habiteront leur pays, Et leur postérité s'affermira devant toi.
102:28 The children of your servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before you.

103:6 The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
103.7 Il a manifesté ses voies à Moïse, Ses oeuvres aux enfants d'Israël.
103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
103.8 L'Éternel est miséricordieux et compatissant, Lent à la colère et riche en bonté;
103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy.
103.9 Il ne conteste pas sans cesse, Il ne garde pas sa colère à toujours;
103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
103.10 Il ne nous traite pas selon nos péchés, Il ne nous punit pas selon nos iniquités.
103:10 He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
103.11 Mais autant les cieux sont élevés au-dessus de la terre, Autant sa bonté est grande pour ceux qui le craignent;
103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
103.12 Autant l'orient est éloigné de l'occident, Autant il éloigne de nous nos transgressions.
103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
103.13 Comme un père a compassion de ses enfants, L'Éternel a compassion de ceux qui le craignent.
103:13 Like a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him.
103.14 Car il sait de quoi nous sommes formés, Il se souvient que nous sommes poussière.
103:14 For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
103.15 L'homme! ses jours sont comme l'herbe, Il fleurit comme la fleur des champs.
103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
103.16 Lorsqu'un vent passe sur elle, elle n'est plus, Et le lieu qu'elle occupait ne la reconnaît plus.
103:16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
103.17 Mais la bonté de l'Éternel dure à jamais pour ceux qui le craignent, Et sa miséricorde pour les enfants de leurs enfants,
103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
103.18 Pour ceux qui gardent son alliance, Et se souviennent de ses commandements afin de les accomplir.
103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
103.19 L'Éternel a établi son trône dans les cieux, Et son règne domine sur toutes choses.
103:19 The LORD has prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom rules over all.
103.20 Bénissez l'Éternel, vous ses anges, Qui êtes puissants en force, et qui exécutez ses ordres, En obéissant à la voix de sa parole!

104:3 Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks upon the wings of the wind:
104.4 Il fait des vents ses messagers, Des flammes de feu ses serviteurs.
104:4 Who makes his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
104.5 Il a établi la terre sur ses fondements, Elle ne sera jamais ébranlée.
104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
104.6 Tu l'avais couverte de l'abîme comme d'un vêtement, Les eaux s'arrêtaient sur les montagnes;
104:6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
104.7 Elles ont fui devant ta menace, Elles se sont précipitées à la voix de ton tonnerre.
104:7 At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hasted away.
104.8 Des montagnes se sont élevées, des vallées se sont abaissées, Au lieu que tu leur avais fixé.
104:8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which you have founded for them.
104.9 Tu as posé une limite que les eaux ne doivent point franchir, Afin qu'elles ne reviennent plus couvrir la terre.
104:9 You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
104.10 Il conduit les sources dans des torrents Qui coulent entre les montagnes.
104:10 He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
104.11 Elles abreuvent tous les animaux des champs; Les ânes sauvages y étanchent leur soif.
104:11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
104.12 Les oiseaux du ciel habitent sur leurs bords, Et font résonner leur voix parmi les rameaux.
104:12 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
104.13 De sa haute demeure, il arrose les montagnes; La terre est rassasiée du fruit de tes oeuvres.
104:13 He waters the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works.
104.14 Il fait germer l'herbe pour le bétail, Et les plantes pour les besoins de l'homme, Afin que la terre produise de la nourriture,
104:14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
104.15 Le vin qui réjouit le coeur de l'homme, Et fait plus que l'huile resplendir son visage, Et le pain qui soutient le coeur de l'homme.
104:15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart.
104.16 Les arbres de l'Éternel se rassasient, Les cèdres du Liban, qu'il a plantés.
104:16 The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;
104.17 C'est là que les oiseaux font leurs nids; La cigogne a sa demeure dans les cyprès,
104:17 Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
104.18 Les montagnes élevées sont pour les boucs sauvages, Les rochers servent de retraite aux damans.
104:18 The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
104.19 Il a fait la lune pour marquer les temps; Le soleil sait quand il doit se coucher.
104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows his going down.
104.20 Tu amènes les ténèbres, et il est nuit: Alors tous les animaux des forêts sont en mouvement;
104:20 You make darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
104.21 Les lionceaux rugissent après la proie, Et demandent à Dieu leur nourriture.
104:21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.
104.22 Le soleil se lève: ils se retirent, Et se couchent dans leurs tanières.
104:22 The sun arises, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
104.23 L'homme sort pour se rendre à son ouvrage, Et à son travail, jusqu'au soir.
104:23 Man goes forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
104.24 Que tes oeuvres sont en grand nombre, ô Éternel! Tu les as toutes faites avec sagesse. La terre est remplie de tes biens.
104:24 O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches.

104:25 So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
104.26 Là se promènent les navires, Et ce léviathan que tu as formé pour se jouer dans les flots.
104:26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan (p. sea serpent), whom you have made to play therein.
104.27 Tous ces animaux espèrent en toi, Pour que tu leur donnes la nourriture en son temps.
104:27 These wait all upon you; that you may give them their food in due season.
104.28 Tu la leur donnes, et ils la recueillent; Tu ouvres ta main, et ils se rassasient de biens.
104:28 That you give them they gather: you open yours hand, they are filled with good.
104.29 Tu caches ta face: ils sont tremblants; Tu leur retires le souffle: ils expirent, Et retournent dans leur poussière.
104:29 You hide your face, they are troubled: you take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
104.30 Tu envoies ton souffle: ils sont créés, Et tu renouvelles la face de la terre.
104:30 You send forth your spirit, they are created: and you renew the face of the earth.
104.31 Que la gloire de l'Éternel subsiste à jamais! Que l'Éternel se réjouisse de ses oeuvres!
104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
104.32 Il regarde la terre, et elle tremble; Il touche les montagnes, et elles sont fumantes.
104:32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles: he touches the hills, and they smoke.
104.33 Je chanterai l'Éternel tant que je vivrai, Je célébrerai mon Dieu tant que j'existerai.
104:33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
104.34 Que mes paroles lui soient agréables! Je veux me réjouir en l'Éternel.
104:34 My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
104.35 Que les pécheurs disparaissent de la terre, Et que les méchants ne soient plus! Mon âme, bénis l'Éternel! Louez l'Éternel!
104:35 Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless you the LORD, O my soul. Praise all of you the LORD.
105.1 Louez l'Éternel, invoquez son nom! Faites connaître parmi les peuples ses hauts faits!
105:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
105.2 Chantez, chantez en son honneur! Parlez de toutes ses merveilles!
105:2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk all of you of all his wondrous works.
105.3 Glorifiez-vous de son saint nom! Que le coeur de ceux qui cherchent l'Éternel se réjouisse!
105:3 Glory all of you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
105.4 Ayez recours à l'Éternel et à son appui, Cherchez continuellement sa face!
105:4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
105.5 Souvenez-vous des prodiges qu'il a faits, De ses miracles et des jugements de sa bouche,
105:5 Remember his marvellous works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
105.6 Postérité d'Abraham, son serviteur, Enfants de Jacob, ses élus!
105:6 O all of you seed of Abraham his servant, all of you children of Jacob his chosen.
105.7 L'Éternel est notre Dieu; Ses jugements s'exercent sur toute la terre.
105:7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
105.8 Il se rappelle à toujours son alliance, Ses promesses pour mille générations,
105:8 He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
105.9 L'alliance qu'il a traitée avec Abraham, Et le serment qu'il a fait à Isaac;
105:9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
105.10 Il l'a érigée pour Jacob en loi, Pour Israël en alliance éternelle,
105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
105.11 Disant: Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan Comme héritage qui vous est échu.
105:11 Saying, Unto you will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
105.12 Ils étaient alors peu nombreux, Très peu nombreux, et étrangers dans le pays,
105:12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
105.13 Et ils allaient d'une nation à l'autre Et d'un royaume vers un autre peuple;
105:13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
105.14 Mais il ne permit à personne de les opprimer, Et il châtia des rois à cause d'eux:
105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
105.15 Ne touchez pas à mes oints, Et ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes!
105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
105.16 Il appela sur le pays la famine, Il coupa tout moyen de subsistance.
105:16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
105.17 Il envoya devant eux un homme: Joseph fut vendu comme esclave.
105:17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
105.18 On serra ses pieds dans des liens, On le mit aux fers,
105:18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
105.19 Jusqu'au temps où arriva ce qu'il avait annoncé, Et où la parole de l'Éternel l'éprouva.
105:19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
105.20 Le roi fit ôter ses liens, Le dominateur des peuples le délivra.
105:20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
105.21 Il l'établit seigneur sur sa maison, Et gouverneur de tous ses biens,
105:21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
105.22 Afin qu'il pût à son gré enchaîner ses princes, Et qu'il enseignât la sagesse à ses anciens.
105:22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
105.23 Alors Israël vint en Égypte, Et Jacob séjourna dans le pays de Cham.
105:23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
105.24 Il rendit son peuple très fécond, Et plus puissant que ses adversaires.
105:24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
105.25 Il changea leur coeur, au point qu'ils haïrent son peuple Et qu'ils traitèrent ses serviteurs avec perfidie.
105:25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtlely with his servants.
105.26 Il envoya Moïse, son serviteur, Et Aaron, qu'il avait choisi.
105:26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
105.27 Ils accomplirent par son pouvoir des prodiges au milieu d'eux, Ils firent des miracles dans le pays de Cham.
105:27 They showed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
105.28 Il envoya des ténèbres et amena l'obscurité, Et ils ne furent pas rebelles à sa parole.
105:28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
105.29 Il changea leurs eaux en sang, Et fit périr leurs poissons.
105:29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
105.30 Le pays fourmilla de grenouilles, Jusque dans les chambres de leurs rois.
105:30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
105.31 Il dit, et parurent les mouches venimeuses, Les poux sur tout leur territoire.
105:31 He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
105.32 Il leur donna pour pluie de la grêle, Des flammes de feu dans leur pays.
105:32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
105.33 Il frappa leurs vignes et leurs figuiers, Et brisa les arbres de leur contrée.
105:33 He stroke their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
105.34 Il dit, et parurent les sauterelles, Des sauterelles sans nombre,
105:34 He spoke, and the locusts came, and caterpillars, and that without number,
105.35 Qui dévorèrent toute l'herbe du pays, Qui dévorèrent les fruits de leurs champs.
105:35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
105.36 Il frappa tous les premiers-nés dans leur pays, Toutes les prémices de leur force.
105:36 He stroke also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
105.37 Il fit sortir son peuple avec de l'argent et de l'or, Et nul ne chancela parmi ses tribus.
105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
105.38 Les Égyptiens se réjouirent de leur départ, Car la terreur qu'ils avaient d'eux les saisissait.
105:38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
105.39 Il étendit la nuée pour les couvrir, Et le feu pour éclairer la nuit.
105:39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
105.40 A leur demande, il fit venir des cailles, Et il les rassasia du pain du ciel.
105:40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
105.41 Il ouvrit le rocher, et des eaux coulèrent; Elles se répandirent comme un fleuve dans les lieux arides.
105:41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
105.42 Car il se souvint de sa parole sainte, Et d'Abraham, son serviteur.
105:42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
105.43 Il fit sortir son peuple dans l'allégresse, Ses élus au milieu des cris de joie.
105:43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
105.44 Il leur donna les terres des nations, Et ils possédèrent le fruit du travail des peuples,
105:44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
105.45 Afin qu'ils gardassent ses ordonnances, Et qu'ils observassent ses lois. Louez l'Éternel!
105:45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise all of you the LORD.
106.1 Louez l'Éternel! Louez l'Éternel, car il est bon, Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!
106:1 Praise all of you the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.
106.2 Qui dira les hauts faits de l'Éternel? Qui publiera toute sa louange?
106:2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can show forth all his praise?
106.3 Heureux ceux qui observent la loi, Qui pratiquent la justice en tout temps!
106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that does righteousness at all times.
106.4 Éternel, souviens-toi de moi dans ta bienveillance pour ton peuple! Souviens-toi de moi en lui accordant ton secours,
106:4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that you bear unto your people: O visit me with your salvation;
106.5 Afin que je voie le bonheur de tes élus, Que je me réjouisse de la joie de ton peuple, Et que je me glorifie avec ton héritage!
106:5 That I may see the good of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with yours inheritance.
106.6 Nous avons péché comme nos pères, Nous avons commis l'iniquité, nous avons fait le mal.
106:6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
106.7 Nos pères en Égypte ne furent pas attentifs à tes miracles, Ils ne se rappelèrent pas la multitude de tes grâces, Ils furent rebelles près de la mer, près de la mer Rouge.
106:7 Our fathers understood not your wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of your mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
106.8 Mais il les sauva à cause de son nom, Pour manifester sa puissance.
106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
106.9 Il menaça la mer Rouge, et elle se dessécha; Et il les fit marcher à travers les abîmes comme dans un désert.
106:9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
106.10 Il les sauva de la main de celui qui les haïssait, Il les délivra de la main de l'ennemi.
106:10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
106.11 Les eaux couvrirent leurs adversaires: Il n'en resta pas un seul.
106:11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
106.12 Et ils crurent à ses paroles, Ils chantèrent ses louanges.
106:12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
106.13 Mais ils oublièrent bientôt ses oeuvres, Ils n'attendirent pas l'exécution de ses desseins.
106:13 They soon forgotten about his works; they waited not for his counsel:
106.14 Ils furent saisis de convoitise dans le désert, Et ils tentèrent Dieu dans la solitude.
106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
106.15 Il leur accorda ce qu'ils demandaient; Puis il envoya le dépérissement dans leur corps.
106:15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
106.16 Ils se montrèrent, dans le camp, jaloux contre Moïse, Contre Aaron, le saint de l'Éternel.
106:16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.
106.17 La terre s'ouvrit et engloutit Dathan, Et elle se referma sur la troupe d'Abiram;
106:17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.
106.18 Le feu embrasa leur troupe, La flamme consuma les méchants.
106:18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
106.19 Ils firent un veau en Horeb, Ils se prosternèrent devant une image de fonte,
106:19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
106.20 Ils échangèrent leur gloire Contre la figure d'un boeuf qui mange l'herbe.
106:20 Thus they changed their glory into the embodiment of an ox that eats grass.
106.21 Ils oublièrent Dieu, leur sauveur, Qui avait fait de grandes choses en Égypte,
106:21 They forgotten about God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
106.22 Des miracles dans le pays de Cham, Des prodiges sur la mer Rouge.
106:22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
106.23 Et il parla de les exterminer; Mais Moïse, son élu, se tint à la brèche devant lui, Pour détourner sa fureur et l'empêcher de les détruire.
106:23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
6.24 Ils méprisèrent le pays des délices; Ils ne crurent pas à la parole de l'Éternel,
106:24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
106.25 Ils murmurèrent dans leurs tentes, Ils n'obéirent point à sa voix.
106:25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
106.26 Et il leva la main pour jurer De les faire tomber dans le désert,
106:26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
106.27 De faire tomber leur postérité parmi les nations, Et de les disperser au milieu des pays.
106:27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
106.28 Ils s'attachèrent à Baal Peor, Et mangèrent des victimes sacrifiées aux morts.
106:28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
106.29 Ils irritèrent l'Éternel par leurs actions, Et une plaie fit irruption parmi eux.
106:29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
106.30 Phinées se leva pour intervenir, Et la plaie s'arrêta;
106:30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
106.31 Cela lui fut imputé à justice, De génération en génération pour toujours.
106:31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
106.32 Ils irritèrent l'Éternel près des eaux de Meriba; Et Moïse fut puni à cause d'eux,
106:32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
106.33 Car ils aigrirent son esprit, Et il s'exprima légèrement des lèvres.
106:33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke without due consideration with his lips.
106.34 Ils ne détruisirent point les peuples Que l'Éternel leur avait ordonné de détruire.
106:34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
106.35 Ils se mêlèrent avec les nations, Et ils apprirent leurs oeuvres.
106:35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
106.36 Ils servirent leurs idoles, Qui furent pour eux un piège;
106:36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
106.37 Ils sacrifièrent leurs fils Et leurs filles aux idoles,
106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
106.38 Ils répandirent le sang innocent, Le sang de leurs fils et de leurs filles, Qu'ils sacrifièrent aux idoles de Canaan, Et le pays fut profané par des meurtres.
106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
106.39 Ils se souillèrent par leurs oeuvres, Ils se prostituèrent par leurs actions.
106:39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
106.40 La colère de l'Éternel s'enflamma contre son peuple, Et il prit en horreur son héritage.
106:40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
106.41 Il les livra entre les mains des nations; Ceux qui les haïssaient dominèrent sur eux;
106:41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
106.42 Leurs ennemis les opprimèrent, Et ils furent humiliés sous leur puissance.
106:42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
106.43 Plusieurs fois il les délivra; Mais ils se montrèrent rebelles dans leurs desseins, Et ils devinrent malheureux par leur iniquité.
106:43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
106.44 Il vit leur détresse, Lorsqu'il entendit leurs supplications.
106:44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
106.45 Il se souvint en leur faveur de son alliance;
106:45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
106.46 Il eut pitié selon sa grande bonté, Et il excita pour eux la compassion De tous ceux qui les retenaient captifs.
106:46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
106.47 Sauve-nous, Éternel, notre Dieu! Et rassemble-nous du milieu des nations, Afin que nous célébrions ton saint nom, Et que nous mettions notre gloire à te louer!
106:47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto your holy name, and to triumph in your praise.
106.48 Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, d'éternité en éternité! Et que tout le peuple dise: Amen! Louez l'Éternel!
106:48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise all of you the LORD.
107.1 Louez l'Éternel, car il est bon, Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!
107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.
107.2 Qu'ainsi disent les rachetés de l'Éternel, Ceux qu'il a délivrés de la main de l'ennemi,
107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
107.3 Et qu'il a rassemblés de tous les pays, De l'orient et de l'occident, du nord et de la mer!
107:3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
107.4 Ils erraient dans le désert, ils marchaient dans la solitude, Sans trouver une ville où ils pussent habiter.
107:4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
107.5 Ils souffraient de la faim et de la soif; Leur âme était languissante.
107:5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
107.6 Dans leur détresse, ils crièrent à l'Éternel, Et il les délivra de leurs angoisses;
107:6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
107.7 Il les conduisit par le droit chemin, Pour qu'ils arrivassent dans une ville habitable.
107:7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
107.8 Qu'ils louent l'Éternel pour sa bonté, Et pour ses merveilles en faveur des fils de l'homme!
107:8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107.9 Car il a satisfait l'âme altérée, Il a comblé de biens l'âme affamée.
107:9 For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
107.10 Ceux qui avaient pour demeure les ténèbres et l'ombre de la mort Vivaient captifs dans la misère et dans les chaînes,
107:10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
107.11 Parce qu'ils s'étaient révoltés contre les paroles de Dieu, Parce qu'ils avaient méprisé le conseil du Très Haut.
107:11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
107.12 Il humilia leur coeur par la souffrance; Ils succombèrent, et personne ne les secourut.
107:12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
107.13 Dans leur détresse, ils crièrent à l'Éternel, Et il les délivra de leurs angoisses;
107:13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
107.14 Il les fit sortir des ténèbres et de l'ombre de la mort, Et il rompit leurs liens.
107:14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in two.
107.15 Qu'ils louent l'Éternel pour sa bonté, Et pour ses merveilles en faveur des fils de l'homme!
107:15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107.16 Car il a brisé les portes d'airain, Il a rompu les verrous de fer.
107:16 For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in two.
107.17 Les insensés, par leur conduite coupable Et par leurs iniquités, s'étaient rendus malheureux.
107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
107.18 Leur âme avait en horreur toute nourriture, Et ils touchaient aux portes de la mort.
107:18 Their soul detests all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
107.19 Dans leur détresse, ils crièrent à l'Éternel, Et il les délivra de leurs angoisses;
107:19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses.
107.20 Il envoya sa parole et les guérit, Il les fit échapper de la fosse.
107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
107.21 Qu'ils louent l'Éternel pour sa bonté, Et pour ses merveilles en faveur des fils de l'homme!
107:21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107.22 Qu'ils offrent des sacrifices d'actions de grâces, Et qu'ils publient ses oeuvres avec des cris de joie!
107:22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
107.23 Ceux qui étaient descendus sur la mer dans des navires, Et qui travaillaient sur les grandes eaux,
107:23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
107.24 Ceux-là virent les oeuvres de l'Éternel Et ses merveilles au milieu de l'abîme.
107:24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
107.25 Il dit, et il fit souffler la tempête, Qui souleva les flots de la mer.
107:25 For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves thereof.
107.26 Ils montaient vers les cieux, ils descendaient dans l'abîme; Leur âme était éperdue en face du danger;
107:26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
107.27 Saisis de vertige, ils chancelaient comme un homme ivre, Et toute leur habileté était anéantie.
107:27 They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their know's end.
107.28 Dans leur détresse, ils crièrent à l'Éternel, Et il les délivra de leurs angoisses;
107:28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distresses.
107.29 Il arrêta la tempête, ramena le calme, Et les ondes se turent.
107:29 He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
107.30 Ils se réjouirent de ce qu'elles s'étaient apaisées, Et l'Éternel les conduisit au port désiré.
107:30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he brings them unto their desired haven.
107.31 Qu'ils louent l'Éternel pour sa bonté, Et pour ses merveilles en faveur des fils de l'homme!
107:31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107.32 Qu'ils l'exaltent dans l'assemblée du peuple, Et qu'ils le célèbrent dans la réunion des anciens!
107:32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
107.33 Il change les fleuves en désert, Et les sources d'eaux en terre desséchée,
107:33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the fountains into dry ground;
107.34 Le pays fertile en pays salé, A cause de la méchanceté de ses habitants.
107:34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
107.35 Il change le désert en étang, Et la terre aride en sources d'eaux,
107:35 He turns the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into fountains.
107.36 Et il y établit ceux qui sont affamés. Ils fondent une ville pour l'habiter;
107:36 And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
107.37 Ils ensemencent des champs, plantent des vignes, Et ils en recueillent les produits.
107:37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
107.38 Il les bénit, et ils deviennent très nombreux, Et il ne diminue point leur bétail.
107:38 He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffers not their cattle to decrease.
107.39 Sont-ils amoindris et humiliés Par l'oppression, le malheur et la souffrance;
107:39 Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
107.40 Verse-t-il le mépris sur les grands, Les fait-il errer dans des déserts sans chemin,
107:40 He pours contempt upon princes, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
107.41 Il relève l'indigent et le délivre de la misère, Il multiplie les familles comme des troupeaux.
107:41 Yet sets he the poor on high from affliction, and makes him families like a flock.
107.42 Les hommes droits le voient et se réjouissent, Mais toute iniquité ferme la bouche.
107:42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
107.43 Que celui qui est sage prenne garde à ces choses, Et qu'il soit attentif aux bontés de l'Éternel.
107:43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the LORD.

108.1 Mon coeur est affermi, ô Dieu! Je chanterai, je ferai retentir mes instruments: c'est ma gloire!
108:1 O god, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
108.2 Réveillez-vous, mon luth et ma harpe! Je réveillerai l'aurore.
108:2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
108.3 Je te louerai parmi les peuples, Éternel! Je te chanterai parmi les nations.
108:3 I will praise you, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto you among the nations.
108.4 Car ta bonté s'élève au-dessus des cieux, Et ta fidélité jusqu'aux nues.
108:4 For your mercy is great above the heavens: and your truth reachs unto the clouds.
108.5 Élève-toi sur les cieux, ô Dieu! Et que ta gloire soit sur toute la terre!
108:5 Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens: and your glory above all the earth;
108.6 Afin que tes bien-aimés soient délivrés, Sauve par ta droite, et exauce-nous!
108:6 That your beloved may be delivered: save with your right hand, and answer me.
108.7 Dieu a dit dans sa sainteté: Je triompherai, Je partagerai Sichem, je mesurerai la vallée de Succoth;
108:7 God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
108.8 A moi Galaad, à moi Manassé; Éphraïm est le rempart de ma tête, Et Juda, mon sceptre;
108:8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
108.9 Moab est le bassin où je me lave; Je jette mon soulier sur Édom; Je pousse des cris de joie sur le pays des Philistins!
108:9 Moab is my pot for washing; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
108.10 Qui me mènera dans la ville forte? Qui me conduit à Édom?
108:10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
108.11 N'est-ce pas toi, ô Dieu, qui nous as repoussés, Et qui ne sortais plus, ô Dieu, avec nos armées?
108:11 Will not you, O God, who have cast us off? and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?
108.12 Donne-nous du secours contre la détresse! Le secours de l'homme n'est que vanité.
108:12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
108.13 Avec Dieu, nous ferons des exploits; Il écrasera nos ennemis.
108:13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
