21:1 さて、彼らがエルサレムに近づき、オリブ山沿いのベテパゲに着いたとき、イエスはふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、
21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
21:2 「向こうの村へ行きなさい。するとすぐ、ろばがつながれていて、ころばがそばにいるのを見るであろう。それを解いてわたしのところへ引いてきなさい。
21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village opposite to you, and immediately all of you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
21:3 もしだれかが、あなたがたに何か行ったなら、主がお入り用なのです、と言いなさい。そう言えば、すぐ渡してくれるであろう」。
21:3 And if any man say ought unto you, all of you shall say, The Lord has need of them; and immediately he will send them.
21:4 こうしたのは、預言者によって言われたことが、成就するためである。
21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
21:5 すなわち、「シオンの娘に告げよ、見よ、あなたの王がおいでになる、柔和なおかたで、ろばに乗って、くびきを負うろばの子に乗って」。
21:5 Tell all of you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King comes unto you, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
21:6 弟子たちは出て行って、イエスがお命じになったとおりにし、
21:6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
21:7 ろばと子ろばを引いてきた。そしてその上にじぶんたちの上着をかけると、イエスはそれにお乗りになった。
21:7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
21:8 群衆のうち多くの者は自分たちの上着を道に敷き、また、ほかの者たちは木の枝を切ってきて道に敷いた。
21:8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and scattered them in the way.
21:9 そして群衆は、前に行く者も、あとに従う者も、共に叫びつづけた。「ダビデの子に、ホサナ。主の御名によってきたる者に、祝福あれ、いと高き所に、ホサナ」。
21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
21:10 イエスがエルサレムにはいって行かれたとき、町中がこぞって騒ぎ立ち、「これは、いったい、どなただろう」と言った。
21:10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
21:11 そこで群衆は、「この人はガリラヤのナザレから出た預言者イエスである」と言った。
21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
21:12 それから、イエスは宮にはいられた。そして、宮の庭で売り買いをしていた人々をみな追い出し、両替人の台や、はとを売る者の腰掛けをくつがえされた。
21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
21:13 そして彼らに言われた、「『わたしの家は、祈りの家ととなえられるべきである』と書いてある。それだのに、あなたがたはそれを強盗の巣にしている」。
21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but all of you have made it a den of thieves.
21:14 そのとき宮の庭で、盲人や足なえがみもとにきたので、彼らをおいやしになった。
21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
21:15 しかし、祭司長、律法学者たちは、イエスがなされた不思議なわざを見、また宮の庭で「ダビデの子に、ホナサ」と叫んでいる子どもたちを見て立腹し、
21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,
21:16 イエスに言った、「あの子たちは何を言っているのか、お聞きですか」。イエスは彼らに言われた、「そうだ、聞いている。あなたがたは『幼な子、乳のみ子たちの口にさんびを備えられた』とあるのを読んだことがないのか」。
21:16 And said unto him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus says unto them, Yea; have all of you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have perfected praise?
21:17 それから、イエスは彼らをあとに残し、都を出てベタニヤに行き、そこで夜をす過ごされた。
21:17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
21:18 朝早く都に帰るとき、イエスは空腹をおほえられた。
21:18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
21:19 そして、道のかたわらに一本のいちじくの木があるのを見て、そこに行かれたが、ただ葉のほかには何も見当たらなかった。そこで木にむかって、「今から後いつまでも、おまえには実がならないように」と言われた。すると、いちじくの木はたちまち枯れた。
21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
21:20 弟子たちはこれを見て、驚いて言った、「いちじくがどうして、こうすぐに枯れたのでしょう」。
21:20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21:21 イエスは答えて言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。もしあなたがたが信じて疑わなければ、このいちじくにあったようなことが、できるばかりでなく、この山にむかって、動き出して海の中にはいれと言っても、そのとおりになるであろう。
21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If all of you have faith, and doubt not, all of you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if all of you shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; it shall be done.
21:22 また、祈りのとき、信じて求めるものは、みな与えられるであろう」。
21:22 And all things, whatsoever all of you shall ask in prayer, believing, all of you shall receive.
21:23 イエスが宮にはいられたとき、祭司長たちや民の長老たちが、その教えておられる所にきて言った、「何の権限によって、これらの事をするのですか。だれが、そうする権限を授けたのですか」。
21:23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority do you these things? and who gave you this authority?
21:24 そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしも一つだけ尋ねよう。あなたがたがそれに答えてくれたなら、わたしも、何の権限によってこれらの事をするのか、あなたがたに言おう。
21:24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, (o. logos) which if all of you tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
21:25 ヨハネのバプテスマはどこからきたのであったか。天からあったか、人からであったか」。すると、彼らは互いに論じて言った、「もし天からだと言えば、では、なぜ彼を信じなかったのか、とイエスは言うだろう。
21:25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did all of you not then believe him?
21:26 しかし、もし人からだと言えば、群衆が恐ろしい。人々がみなヨハネを預言者だと思っているのだから」。
21:26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
21:27 そこで彼らは、「わたしたちにはわかりません」。と答えた。すると、イエスが言われた、「わたしも何の権威によってこれらの事をするのか、あなたがたに言うまい。
21:27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
21:28 あなたがたはどう思うか。ある人に二人の子があったが、兄のところに行って言った、『子よ、きょう、ぶどう園へいって働いてくれ』。
21:28 But what think all of you? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
21:29 すると彼は、『おとうさん、参ります』。と答えたが、行かなかった。
21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
21:30 またおとうとのところにきて同じように言った。彼は『いやです』と答えたが、あとから心を変えて、出かけた。
21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
21:31 このふたりのうち、どちらが父の望みどおりにしたのか」。彼らは言った、「後の者です」。イエスは言われた、「よく聞きなさい。取税人や遊女は、あなたがたより先に神の国にはいる。
21:31 Whether of them two did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus says unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
21:32 というのは、ヨハネがあなたがたのところにきて、義の道を説いたのに、あなたがたは彼を信じなかった。ところが、取税人や遊女は彼を信じた。あなたがたはそれを見たのに、あとになっても、心をいれ変えて彼を信じようとしなかった。
21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and all of you believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and all of you, when all of you had seen it, repented not afterward, that all of you might believe him.
21:33 もう一つの譬を聞きなさい。ある所に、ひとりの家の主人がいたが、ぶどう園を造り、かきをめぐらして、その中に酒ぶねの穴を掘り、やぐらを立て、それを農夫たちに貸して、旅に出かけた。
21:33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
21:34 収穫の季節がきたので、その分け前を受け取ろうとして、僕たちを農夫のところへ送った。
21:34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
21:35 すると、農夫たちは、その僕たちをつかまえて、ひとりを袋ただたきにし、ひとりを殺し、もうひとりを石で打ち殺した。
21:35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
21:36 また別に、前より多くの僕たちを送ったが、彼らをも同じようにあしらった。
21:36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
21:37 しかし、最後に、わたしの子は敬ってくれるだろうと思って、主人はその子を彼らの所につかわした。
21:37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
21:38 すると農夫たちは、その子を見て互いに言った、『あれはあと取りだ、さあ、これを殺して、その財産を手に入れよう』。
21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
21:39 そして彼をつかまえて、ぶどう園の外に引き出して殺した。
21:39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
21:40 このぶどう園の主人が帰ってきたら、この農夫たちをどうするだろうか」。
21:40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
21:41 彼らはイエスに言った、「悪人どもを、皆殺しにして、季節ごとに収穫を納めるほかの農夫たちに、そのぶどう園を貸し与えるでしょう」。
21:41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
21:42 イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、聖書でまだ読んだことがないのか、『家造りらの捨てた石が隅のかしら石になった。これは主がなされたことで、わたしたちの目には不思議に見える』。
21:42 Jesus says unto them, Did all of you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
21:43 それだから、あなたがたに言うが、神の国はあなたがたから取り上げられて、御国にふさわしい実を結ぶような異邦人に与えられるであろう。
21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
21:44 またその石の上に落ちる者は打ち砕かれ、それがだれかの上に落ちかかるなら、その人はこなみじんにされるであろう」。
21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
21:45 祭司長たちやパリサイ人たちがこの譬を聞いたとき、自分たちのことをさして言っておられると悟ったので、
21:45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.
21:46 イエスを捕らえようとしたが、群衆を恐れた。群衆はイエスを預言者だと思っていたからである。
21:46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
22:1 イエスはまた、譬で彼らに語って言われた、
22:1 And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again by parables, and said,
22:2 「天国は、ひとりの王がその王子のために、婚宴を催すようなものである。
22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
22:3 王はその僕たちをつかわして、婚宴に招かれていた人たちを呼ばせたが、その人たちはこようとはしなかった。
22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
22:4 そこでまた、ほかの僕たちをつかわして言った、『招かれた人たちに言いなさい。食事の用意ができました。牛も肥えた獣もほふられて、すべての用意ができました。さあ、婚宴においでください』。
22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
22:5 しかし、彼らは知らぬ顔をして、ひとりは自分の畑に、ひとりは自分の商売に出て行き、
22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
22:6 またほかの人々は、この僕たちをつかまえて侮辱を加えた上、殺してしまった。
22:6 And the remnant took his servants, and pleaded them spitefully, and slew them.
22:7 そこで王は立腹し、軍隊を送ってそれらの人殺しどもを滅ぼし、その町を焼き払った。
22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was angry: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
22:8 それから僕たちに言った、『婚宴の用意はできているが、招かれていたのは、ふさわしくない人々であった。
22:8 Then says he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
22:9 だから、町の大通りに出て行って、出会った人はだれでも婚宴に連れてきなさい』。
22:9 Go all of you therefore into the highways, and as many as all of you shall find, bid to the marriage.
22:10 そこで、僕たちは道に出て行って、出会う人は、悪人でも善人でもみな集めてきたので、婚宴の席は客でいっぱいになった。
22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guest.
22:11 王は客を迎えようとしてはいってきたが、そこに礼服をつけていないひとりの人を見て、
22:11 And when the king came in to see the guest, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
22:12 彼に言った、『友よ、どうしてあなたは礼服をつけないで、ここにはいってきたのですか』。しかし、彼は黙っていた。
22:12 And he says unto him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
22:13 そこで、王はそばの者たちに言った、『この者の手足をしばって、外の暗やみにほうり出せ。そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう』。
22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
22:14 招かれる者は多いが、選ばれる者は少ない」。
22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
22:15 そのときパリサイ人たちがきて、どうかしてイエスを言葉のわなにかけようと、相談をした。
22:15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. (o. logos)
22:16 そして、彼らの弟子をヘロデ党の者たちと共に、イエスのもとにつかわして言わせた、「先生、わたしたちはあなたが真実なかたであって、真理に基いて神の道を教え、また、人に分け隔てをしないで、だれをもはばからないことを知っています。
22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, neither care you for any man: for you regard not the person of men.
22:17 それで、あなたはどう思われますか、答えてください。カイザルに税金を納めてよいでしょうか。いけないでしょうか」。
22:17 Tell us therefore, What think you? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
22:18 イエスは彼らの悪意を知って言われた、「偽善者たちよ、なぜわたしをためそうとするのか。
22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt all of you me, all of you hypocrites?
22:19 税に納める貨幣を見せなさい」。彼らはデナリ一つを持ってきた。
22:19 Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
22:20 そこでイエスは言われた、「これは、だれの肖像、だれの記号か」。
22:20 And he says unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
22:21 彼らは「カイザルのです」と答えた。するとイエスは言われた、「それでは、カイザルのものはカイザルに、神のものは神に返しなさい」。
22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then says he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22:22 彼らはこれを聞いて驚嘆し、イエスを残して立ち去った。
22:22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
22:23 復活ということはないと主張していたサドカイ人たちが、その日、イエスのもとにきて質問した、
22:23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
22:24 「先生、モーセはこう言っています、『もし、ある人が子がなくて死んだなら、その弟は兄の妻をめとって、兄のために子をもうけなければならない』。
22:24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
22:25 さて、わたしたちのところに七人の兄弟がありました。長男は妻をめとったが死んでしまい、
22:25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
22:26 <次男も三男も、ついに七人とも同じことになりました。
22:26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
22:27 最後に、その女も死にました。
22:27 And last of all the woman died also.
22:28 すると復活の時には、この女は、七人のうちだれの妻なのでしょうか。みんながこの女を妻にしたのですが」。
22:28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
22:29 イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたは聖書も神の力も知らないから、思い違いをしている。
22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, All of you do go astray, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
22:30 復活の時には、めとったり、とついだりすることはない。彼らは天にいる御使のようなものである」。
22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
22:31 また、死人の復活については、神があなたがたに言われた言葉を読んだことがないのか。
22:31 But as concerning the resurrection of the dead, have all of you not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
22:32 『わたしはアブラハムの神、イサクの神、ヤコブの神である』と書いてある。神は死んだ者の神ではなく、生きている者の神である」。
22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
22:33 群衆はこれを聞いて、イエスの教えに驚いた。
22:33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
22:34 さて、パリサイ人たちは、イエスがサドカイ人たちを言いこめられたと聞いて、一緒に集まった。
22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
22:35 そして彼らの中のひとりの律法学者が、イエスをためそうとして質問した、
22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
22:36 「先生、律法の中で、どのいましめがいちばん大切なのですか」。
22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
22:37 イエスは言われた、「『心をつくし、精神をつくし、思いをつくして、主なるあなたの神を愛せよ』。
22:37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
22:38 これがいちばん大切な、第一のいましめである。
22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 第二もこれと同様である、『自分を愛するようにあなたの隣り人を愛せよ』。
22:39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
22:40 これら二つのいましめに、律法全体と預言者とが、かかっている」。
22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
22:41 パリサイ人たちが集まっていたとき、イエスは彼らにお尋ねになった、
22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
22:42 「あなたがたはキリストをどう思うか。だれの子なのか」。彼らは「ダビデの子です」と答えた。
22:42 Saying, What think all of you of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
22:43 イエスは言われた、「それではどうして、ダビデが御霊に感じてキリストを主と呼んでいるのか。
22:43 He says unto them, How then does David in spirit (o. pneuma) call him Lord, saying,
22:44 すなわち『主はわが主に仰せになった、あなたの敵をあなたの足元に置くときまでは、わたしの右に座していなさい』。
22:44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, till I make yours enemies your footstool?
22:45 このように、ダビデ自身がキリストを主と呼んでいるなら、キリストはどうしてダビデの子であろうか」。
22:45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
22:46 イエスにひと言でも答うる者は、なかったし、その日からもはや、進んでイエスに質問する者も、いなくなった。
22:46 And no man was able to answer him a word, (o. logos) neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
23:1 そのときイエスは、群衆と弟子たちとに語って言われた、
23:1 Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
23:2 「律法学者と、パリサイ人とは、モーセの座にすわっている。
23:2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
23:3 だから、彼らがあなたがたに言うことは、みな守って実行しなさい。しかし、彼らのすることには、ならうな。彼らは言うだけで、実行しないから。
23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not all of you after their works: for they say, and do not.
23:4 また、重い荷物をつくって人々の肩にのせるが、それを動かすために、自分では指一本も貸そうとはしない。
23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
23:5 そのすることは、すべて人に見せるためである。すなわち、彼らは経札を幅広くつくり、その衣のふさを大きくし、
23:5 But all their works they do in order to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
23:6 また、宴会の上座、会堂の上席を好み、
23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
23:7 広場であいさつされることや、人々から先生と呼ばれることを好んでいる。
23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
23:8 しかし、あなたがたは先生と呼ばれてはならない。あなたがたの先生は、ただひとりであって、あなたがたはみな兄弟なのだから。
23:8 But be not all of you called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren.
23:9 また地上のだれをも、父と呼んではならない。あなたがたの父はただひとり、すなわち、天にいます父である。
23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
23:10 また、あなたがたは教師と呼ばれてはならない。あなたがたの教師はだだひとり、すなわちキリストである。
23:10 Neither be all of you called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
23:11 そこで、あなたがたのうちでいちばん偉い者は、仕える人でなければならない。
23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
23:12 だれでも自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるであろう。
23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought low; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
23:13 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたには、わざわいである。あなたがたは、天国を閉ざして人々をはいらせない。自分もはいらないし、はいろうとする人もはいらせない。〔
23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for all of you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer all of you them that are entering to go in.
23:14 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは、やもめたちの家を食い倒し、見えのために長い祈りをする。だから、もっときびしいさばきを受けるに違いない。〕
23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore all of you shall receive the greater damnation.
23:15 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたはひとりの改宗者をつくるために、海と陸とを巡り歩く。そして、つくったなら、彼を自分より倍もひどい地獄の子にする。
23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, all of you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
23:16 盲目な案内者たちよ、あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは言う、『神殿をさして誓うなら、そのままでよいが、神殿の黄金をさして誓うなら、果たす責任がある』と。
23:16 Woe unto you, all of you blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
23:17 愚かな盲目な人たちよ。黄金と、黄金を神聖にする神殿と、どちらが大事なのか。
23:17 All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that santifies the gold?
23:18 また、あなたがたは言う、『祭壇をさして誓うなら、そのままでよいが、その上の供え物をさして誓うなら、果たす責任がある』。
23:18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
23:19 盲目な人たちよ。供え者と供え物を神聖にする祭壇とどちらが大事なのか。
23:19 All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that santifies the gift?
23:20 祭壇をさして誓う者は、祭壇と、その上にあるすべての物をさして誓うのである。
23:20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, swears by it, and by all things thereon.
23:21 神殿をさして誓う者は、神殿とその中に住んでおられるかたとをさして誓うのである。
23:21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, swears by it, and by him that dwells therein.
23:22 また天をさして誓う者は、神の御座とその上にすわっておられるかたとをさして誓うのである。
23:22 And he that shall swear by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him that sits thereon.
23:23 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。はっか、いのんど、クミンなどの薬味の十分の一を宮に納めておきながら、律法の中でもっと重要な、公平とあわれみと忠実とを見のがしている。それもしなければならないが、これも見のがしてはならない。
23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
23:24 盲目な案内者たちよ。あなたがたは、ぶよはこしているが、らくだはのみこんでいる。
23:24 All of you blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.
23:25 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。杯と皿との外側はきよめるが、内側は貪欲と放縦とで満ちている。
23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
23:26 盲目なパリサイ人よ、まず、杯の内側をきよめるがよい。そうすれば、外側も清くなるであろう。
23:26 You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
23:27 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは白く塗った墓に似ている。外側は美しく見えるが、内側は死人の骨や、あらゆる不潔なものでいっぱいである。
23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are like unto whitewashed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
23:28 このようにあなたがたも、外側は人に正しく見えるが、内側は偽善と不法とでいっぱいである。
23:28 Even so all of you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within all of you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
23:29 偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは預言者の墓を建て、義人の碑を飾り立てて、こう言っている、
23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because all of you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous,
23:30 『もしわたしたちが先祖の時代に生きていたなら、預言者の血を流すことに加わってはいなかっただろう』と。
23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
23:31 このようにして、あなたがたは預言者を殺した者の子孫である子とを、自分で証明している。
23:31 Wherefore all of you be witnesses unto yourselves, that all of you are the children of them which killed the prophets.
23:32 あなたがたもまた先祖たちがした悪の升目を満たすがよい。
23:32 Fill all of you up then the measure of your fathers.
23:33 へびよ、まむしの子らよ、どうして地獄の刑罰をのがれることができようか。
23:33 All of you serpents, all of you generation of vipers, how can all of you escape the damnation of hell?
23:34 それだから、わたしは、預言者、知者、律法学者たちをあなたがたにつかわすが、そのうちのある者を殺し、また十字架につけ、そのある者を会堂でむちうち、また町から町へと迫害して行くであろう。
23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them all of you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall all of you scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
23:35 こうして義人アベルの血から、聖所と祭壇との間であなたがたが殺したバラキヤの子ザカリヤの血に至るまで、地上に流された義人の血の報いが、ことごとくあなたがたに及ぶであろう。
23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom all of you slew between the temple and the altar.
23:36 よく言っておく。これらのことの報いは、みな今の時代に及ぶであろう。
23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
23:37 ああ、エルサレム、エルサレム、預言者たちを殺し、おまえにつかわされた人たちを石で打ち殺す者よ。ちょうど、めんどりが翼の下にそのひなを集めるように、わたしはおまえの子らを幾たび集めようとしたことであろう。それだのに、おまえたちは応じようとしなかった。
23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and all of you would not!
23:38 見よ、おまえたちの家は見捨てられてしまう。
23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
23:39 わたしは言っておく、『主の御名によってきたる者に、祝福あれ』とおまえたちが言う時までは、今後ふたたび、わたしに会うことはないであろう」。
23:39 For I say unto you, All of you shall not see me henceforth, till all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.
24:1 イエスが宮から出て行こうとしておられると、弟子たちは近寄ってきて、宮の建物にイエスの注意を促した。
24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him in order to show him the buildings of the temple.
24:2 そこでイエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは、これらすべてのものを見ないか。よく言っておく。その石一つでもくずされずに、そこに他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。
24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See all of you not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
24:3 またオリブ山ですわっておられると、弟子たちが、ひそかにみもとにきて言った、「ぞうぞお話ください。いつ、そんなことが起こるのでしょうか。あなたがまたおいでになる時や、世の終わりには、どんな前兆がありますか」。
24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?
24:4 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。
24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
24:5 多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がキリストだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
24:6 また、戦争と戦争のうわさを聞くであろう。注意していなさい、あわててはいけない。それは起こらねばならないが、まだ終わりではない。
24:6 And all of you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that all of you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
24:7 民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに、ききんが起こり、また地震があるであろう。
24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
24:8 しかし、すべてこれらは産みの苦しみの初めである。
24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
24:9 そのとき人々は、あなたがたを苦しみにあわせ、また殺すであろう。またあなたがたは、わたしの名ゆえにすべての民に憎まれるであろう。
24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and all of you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
24:10 そのとき、多くの人がつまずき、また互いに裏切り、憎み合うであろう。
24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
24:11 また多くのにせ預言者が起こって、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24:12 また不法がはびこるので、多くの人の愛が冷えるであろう。
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love (o. agape) of many shall wax cold.
24:13 しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
24:14 そしてこの御国の福音は、すべての民に対してあかしをするために、全世界に宣べ伝えられるであろう。そしてそれから最後が来るのである。
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
24:15 預言者ダニエルによって言われた荒らす憎むべき者が、聖なる場所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、
24:15 When all of you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)
24:16 そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。
24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
24:17 屋上にいる者は、家からものを取り出そうとして下におりるな。
24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
24:18 畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。
24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
24:19 その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。
24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
24:20 あなたがたの逃げるのが、冬または安息日にならないように祈れ。
24:20 But pray all of you that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
24:21 その時には、世の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような大きな患難が起こるからである。
24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
24:22 もしその期間が縮められないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選民のためには、その期間がちぢめられるであろう。
24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
24:23 そのとき、だれかがあなたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』。また、『あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。
24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24:24 にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起こって、大いなるしるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。
24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
24:25 見よ、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。
24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
24:26 だから、人々が『見よ、彼は荒野にいる』と言っても、出て行くな。また『見よ、へやの中にいる』と言っても、信じるな。
24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
24:27 ちょうど、いなずまが東から西にひらめき渡るように、人の子も現れるであろう。
24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:28 死体のあるところには、はげたかが集まるものである。
24:28 For where ever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
24:29 しかし、その時に起こる患難の後、たちまち日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。
24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
24:30 そのとき、人の子のしるしが天に現れるであろう。またそのとき、地のすべての民族は嘆き、その力と大いなる栄光とをもって、人の子が天の雲に乗ってくるのを、人々は見るであろう。
24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31 また、彼は大いなるラッパの音と共に御使たちをつかわして、天のはてからはてに至るまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。
24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
24:32 いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。
24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, all of you know that summer is nigh:
24:33 そのように、すべてこれらのことを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていることを知りなさい。
24:33 So likewise all of you, when all of you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
24:34 よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起こるまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。
24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
24:35 天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。
24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words (o. logos) shall not pass away.
24:36 その日、その時は、だれも知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。
24:36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
24:37 人の子の現れるのも、ちょうどノアの時のようであろう。
24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:38 すなわち、洪水の出る前、ノアが箱船にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどをしていた。
24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
24:39 そして洪水が襲ってきて、いっさいのものをさらって行くまで、彼らは気がつかなかった。人の子の現れるのも、そのようであろう。
24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:40 そのとき、ふたりの者が畑にいると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは残されるであろう。
24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
24:41 ふたりの女がうすをひいていると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは残されるであろう。
24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
24:42 だから目をさましていなさい。いつの日にあなたがたの主がこられるのか、あなたがたには、わからないからである。
24:42 Watch therefore: for all of you know not what hour your Lord does come.
24:43 このことをわきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、目をさましていて、自分の家に押し入ることを許さないであろう。
24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
24:44 だから、あなたがたも用意をしていなさい。思いがけない時に人の子がくるからである。
24:44 Therefore be all of you also ready: for in such an hour as all of you think not the Son of man comes.
24:45 主人がその家の僕たちの上に立てて、時に応じて食物をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い僕は、いったい、だれであろう。
24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
24:46 主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。
24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.
24:47 よく言っておくが、主人は彼を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。
24:47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
24:48 もしそれが悪い僕であって、自分の主人は帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、
24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming;
24:49 その僕仲間をたたきはじめ、また酒飲み仲間と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしているなら、
24:49 And shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
24:50 その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰ってきて、
24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
24:51 彼を厳罰に処し、偽善者たちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。彼はそこで泣き叫んだり歯がみをしたりするであろう。
24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
25:1 そこで天国は、十人のおとめがそれぞれあかりを手にして、花婿を迎えに出ていくのに似ている。
25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 その中の五人は思慮が浅く、五人は思慮深い者であって。
25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 思慮の浅い者たちは、あかりを持っていたが、油を用意していなかった。
25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
25:4 しかし、思慮深い者たちは、自分たちのあかりと一緒に、入れものの中に油を用意していた。
25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 花婿のくるのがおくれたので、彼らはみな居眠りをして、寝てしまった。
25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
25:6 夜中に『さあ、花婿だ。迎えに出なさい』と呼ぶ声がした。
25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go all of you out to meet him.
25:7 そのとき、おとめたちはみな起きて、それぞれあかりを整えた。
25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 ところが、思慮浅い女たちが、思慮深い女達に言った。『あなたがたの油をわたしたちにわれてください。わたしたちのあかりが消えかかっていきすから』。
25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
25:9 すると、思慮深い女たちは答えていった、『わたしたちとあなたがたとに足りるだけは、多分ないでしょう。店に行って、あなたがたの分をお買いになる方がよいでしょう』。
25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go all of you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
25:10 彼らが買いに出ているうちに、花婿が着いた。そこで、用意のできていた女たちは、花婿と一緒に婚宴のへやにはいり、そして戸がしめられた、
25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
25:11 そのあとで、ほかのおとめたちもきて、『ご主人様、ご主人様、どうぞ、あけてください』と言った。
25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
25:12 しかし彼は答えて、『はっきり言うが、わたしはあなたがたをしらない』と言った。
25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
25:13 だから、目をさましていなさい。その日その時が、あなたがたにはわからないからである。
25:13 Watch therefore, for all of you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.
25:14 また天国は、ある人が旅に出るとき、その僕どもを呼んで、自分の財産を預けるようなものである。
25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
25:15 すなわち、それぞれの能力に応じて、ある者には五タラント、ある者には二タラント、ある者には一タラントを与えて、旅に出た。
25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and immediately took his journey.
25:16 五タラントを渡された者は、すぐに行って、それで商売をして、ほかに五タラントもうけた。
25:16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
25:17 二タラントの者も同様にして、ほかに二タラントもうけた。
25:17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
25:18 しかし、一タラント渡された者は、行って地を堀り、主人の金を隠しておいた。
25:18 But he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
25:19 だいぶ時がたってから、これらの僕の主人が帰ってきて、彼らと計算をしはじめた。
25:19 After a long time the lord of those servants comes, and reckons (o. logos) with them.
25:20 すると五タラント渡された者が進み出て、ほかの五タラントをさし出して行った、『ご主人様、あなたはわたしに五タラントをお預けになりましたが、ごらんのとおり、ほかに五タラントもうけました』。
25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, you delivered unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
25:21 主人は彼に言った、『良い忠実な僕よ、よくやった。あなたはわずかなものに忠実であったから、多くのものを管理させよう。主人と一緒に喜んでくれ』。
25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.
25:22 二タラントの者も進み出て言った『ご主人様、あなたはわたしに二タラントお預けになりましたが、ごらんのとおり、ほかに二タラントもうけまして』。
25:22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
25:23 主人は彼に言った、『良い忠実な僕よ、よくやった。あなたはわずかなものに忠実であったから、多くのものを管理させよう。主人と一緒に喜んでくれ』。
25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.
25:24 一タラントを渡された者も進み出て言った、『ご主人様、わたしはあなたが、まかない所から刈り、散らさない所から集める酷な人であることを承知していました。
25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew you that you are an hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered:
25:25 そこで恐ろしさのあまり、行って、あなたのタラントを地の中に隠しておきました。ごらんください。ここにあなたのお金がございます』。
25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: lo, there you have that is yours.
25:26 すると、主人は彼に答えて言った、『悪い怠惰な僕よ、あなたはわたしが、まかない所から刈り、散らさない所から集めることを知っているのか。
25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not scattered:
25:27 それなら、わたしの金を銀行に預けておくべきであった。そうしたら、わたしは帰ってきて、利子と一緒にわたしの金を返してもらえたであろうに、
25:27 You ought therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with interest.
25:28 さあ、そのタラントをこの者から取りあげて、十タラント持っている者にやりなさい。
25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which has ten talents.
25:29 おおよそ、持っている人は与えられて、いよいよ豊かになるが、持っていない人は、持っているものまで取り上げられるであろう。
25:29 For unto every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.
25:30 この役にたたない僕を外の暗いところに追い出すがよい。彼は、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう』。
25:30 And cast all of you the useless servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
25:31 人の子が栄光の中に御使たちを従えて来るとき、彼はその栄光の座につくであろう。
25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
25:32 そして、すべての国民をその前に集めて、羊飼が羊とやぎとを分けるように、彼らをより分け、
25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:
25:33 羊を右に、やぎを左におくであろう。
25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
25:34 そのとき、右にいる人々に言うであろう、『わたしの父に祝福された人たちよ、さあ、世の初めからあなたがたのために用意されている御国を受けづぎなさい。
25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, all of you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
25:35 あなたがたは、わたしが空腹のときに食べさせ、かわいているときに飲ませ、旅人であったときに宿を貸し、
25:35 For I was an hungered, and all of you gave me food: I was thirsty, and all of you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and all of you took me in:
25:36 裸であったときに着せ、病気のときに見舞い、獄にいたときに尋ねてくれたからである』。
25:36 Naked, and all of you clothed me: I was sick, and all of you visited me: I was in prison, and all of you came unto me.
25:37 そのとき、正しい者たちは答えて言うであろう、『主よ、いつ、わたしたちは、あなたが空腹であるのを見て食物をめぐみ、かわいているのを見て飲ませましたか。
25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you an hungered, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink?
25:38 いつあなたが旅人であるのを見て宿を貸し、裸なのを見て着せましたか。
25:38 When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you?
25:39 また、いつあなたが病気をし、獄にいるのを見て、あなたの所に参りましたか』。
25:39 Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came unto you?
25:40 すると、王は答えて言うであろう、『あなたがたによく言っておく、わたしの兄弟であるこれらの最も小さい者のひとりにしたのは、すなわち、わたしにしたのである』。
25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as all of you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, all of you have done it unto me.
25:41 それから左にいる人々にも言うであろう、『のろわれた者どもよ、わたしを離れて、悪魔とその使いたちとのために用意されている永遠の火にはいってしまえ。
25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, all of you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
25:42 あなたがたは、空腹のときに食べさせず、かわいていいたときに飲ませず、
25:42 For I was an hungered, and all of you gave me no food: I was thirsty, and all of you gave me no drink:
25:43 旅人であったときに宿を貸さず、裸であったときに着せず、また病気のときや、獄にいたときに、わたしを尋ねてくれなかったからであろ』。
25:43 I was a stranger, and all of you took me not in: naked, and all of you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and all of you visited me not.
25:44 そのとき、かれらもまた答えて言うであろう、『主よ、いつ、あなたが空腹であり、かわいておられ、旅人であり、裸であり、病気であり、獄におられたのを見て、わたしたちはお世話をしませんでしたか』。
25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you an hungered, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto you?
25:45 そのとき、彼は答えて言うであろう、『あなたがたによく言っておく。これらの最も小さい者のひとりにしなかったのは、すなわち、わたしにしなかったのである』。
25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as all of you did it not to one of the least of these, all of you did it not to me.
25:46 そして彼らは永遠の刑罰を受け、正しい者は永遠の生命に入るであろう」。
25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
26:1 イエスはこれらの言葉をすべて語り終えてから、弟子たちに言われた。
26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, (o. logos) he said unto his disciples,
26:2 「あなたがたが知っているとおり、ふつかの後には過越の祭になるが、人の子は十字架につけられるために引き渡される」。
26:2 All of you know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
26:3 そのとき、祭司長たちや民の長老たちが、カヤバという大祭司の中庭に集まり、
26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
26:4 策略をもってイエスを捕らえて殺そうと相談した。
26:4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
26:5 しかし彼らは言った、「祭の間はいけない。民衆の中に騒ぎが起きるかも知れない」。
26:5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
26:6 さて、イエスがベタニヤで、らい病人シモンの家におられたとき、
26:6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
26:7 ひとりの女が、高価な香油が入れてある石膏のつぼを持ってきて、イエスに近寄り、食事の席についておられたイエスの頭に香油を注ぎかけた。
26:7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at food.
26:8 すると、弟子たちはこれを見て憤って言った、「なんのためにこになむだ使いをするのか。
26:8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
26:9 それを高く売って、貧しい人に施すことができたのに」。
26:9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
26:10 イエスはそれを聞いて彼らに言われた、「なぜ、女を困られるのか。わたしによい事をしてくれたのだ。
26:10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble all of you the woman? for she has wrought a good work upon me.
26:11 貧しい人たちはいつもあなたがたと一緒にいるが、わたしはいつも一緒にいるわけではない。
26:11 For all of you have the poor always with you; but me all of you have not always.
26:12 この女がわたしのからだにこの香油を注いだのは、わたしの葬りの用意をするためである。
26:12 For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
26:13 よく聞きなさい。全世界のどこででも、この福音が宣べ伝えられる所では、この女のした事も記念として語られるであろう」。
26:13 Verily I say unto you, Where ever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.
26:14 時に、十二弟子のひとりイスカリオテのユダという者が、祭司長たちのところに行って、
26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
26:15 言った、「彼をあなたがたに引き渡せば、いくらくださいきすか」。すると、彼らは銀貨三十枚を彼に支払った。
26:15 And said unto them, What will all of you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
26:16 その時から、ユダはイエスを引きわたそうと、機会をねらっていた。
26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
26:17 さて、除酵祭の第一日に、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「過越の食事をなさるために、わたしたちはどこに用意したらよいでしょうか」。
26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where will you that we prepare for you to eat the passover?
26:18 イエスは言われた、「市内にはいり、かねて話してある人の所に行にいって言いなさい、『先生が、わたしの時が近ずいた、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越を守ろうと、言っておられます』」。
26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master says, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples.
26:19 弟子たちはイエスが命じられたとおりにして、過越の用意をした。
26:19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
26:20 夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒に食事の席につかれた。
26:20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
26:21 そして、一同が食事をしているとき言われた、「特にあなたがたに言っておくが、あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。
26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
26:22 弟子たちは非常に心配して、つぎつぎに、「主よ、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」と言い出した。
26:22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
26:23 イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしと一緒に同じ鉢に手を入れている者が、わたしを裏切ろうとしている。
26:23 And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
26:24 たしかに人の子は、自分について書いてあるとおりに去って行く。しかし、人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである。その人は生まれなかった方が、彼のためによかったであろう」。
26:24 The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
26:25 イエスを裏切ったユダが答えて言った、「先生、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」。イエスは言われた、「いや、あなただ」。
26:25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, You have said.
26:26 一同が食事をしているとき、イエスはパンを取り、祝福してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「取って食べよ、これはわたしのからだである」。
26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
26:27 また杯を取り、感謝して彼らに与えて言われた、「みな、この杯から飲め。
26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink all of you all of it;
26:28 これは、罪のゆるしを得させるようにと、多くの人のために流すわたしの契約の血である。
26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
26:29 あなたがたに言っておく。わたしの父の国であなたがたと共に、新しく飲むその日までは、わたしは今後決して、ぶどうの実から造ったものをのむことをしない」。
26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
26:30 彼らは、さんびを歌った後、オリブの山へ出かけて行った。
26:30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
26:31 そのとき、イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「今夜、あなたがたは皆わたしにつまずくであろう。『わたしは羊飼いを打つ。そして、羊の群れは散らされるであろう』と、書いてあるからである。
26:31 Then says Jesus unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
26:32 しかしわたしは、よみがえってから、あなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行くであろう」。
26:32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
26:33 するとペテロはイエスに答えて言った、「たとい、みのなの者があなたにつまずいても、わたしは決してつまずきません」。
26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.
26:34 イエスは言われた、「よくあなたに言っておく。今夜、鶏が鳴く前に、あなたは三度わたしを知らないと言うだろう」。
26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this night, before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times.
26:35 ペテロは言った、「たといあなたと一緒に死なねばならなくなっても、あなたを知らないなどとは、決して申しません」。弟子たちもみな同じように言った。
26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.
26:36 それから、イエスは彼らと一緒に、ゲッセマネという所へ行かれた。そして弟子たちに言われた、「わたしが向こうへ行って祈っている間、ここにすわっていなさい」。
26:36 Then comes Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and says unto the disciples, Sit all of you here, while I go and pray yonder.
26:37 そしてペテロとゼベダイの子ふたりとを連れて行かれたが、悲しみを催しまた悩みはじめられた。
26:37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
26:38 そのとき彼らに言われた、「わたしは悲しみのあまり死ぬほどである。ここに待っていて、わたしと一緒に目をさましていなさい」。
26:38 Then says he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry all of you here, and watch with me.
26:39 そして少し進んで行き、うつぶしになり、祈って言われた、「わが父よ、もしできることでしたらどうか、この杯をわたしから過ぎ去らせてください。しかし、わたしの思いのままにではなく、みこころのままになさって下さい」。
26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.
26:40 それから、弟子たちの所にきてごらんになると、彼らが眠っていたので、ペテロに言われた、「あなたがたはそんなに、ひと時もわたしと一緒に目をさましていることが、できなかったのか。
26:40 And he comes unto the disciples, and finds them asleep, and says unto Peter, What, could all of you not watch with me one hour?
26:41 誘惑に陥らないように、目をさまして祈っていなさい。心は熱しているが、肉体が弱いのである」。
26:41 Watch and pray, that all of you enter not into temptation: the spirit (o. pneuma) indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
26:42 また二度目に行って、祈って言われた、「わが父よ、この杯を飲むほかに道がないのでしたら、どうか、みこころが行われますように」。
26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done.
26:43 またきてごらんになると、彼らはまた眠っていた。その目が重くなっていたのである。
26:43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
26:44 それで彼らをそのままにして、また行って、三度目に同じ言葉で祈られた。
26:44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. (o. logos)
26:45 それから弟子たちの所へ帰ってきて、言われた、「まだ眠っているのか、休んでいるのか。見よ、時が迫った。人の子は罪人らの手に渡されるのだ。
26:45 Then comes he to his disciples, and says unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
26:46 立て、さあ行こう。見よ、わたしを裏切る者が近づいてきた」。
26:46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me.
26:47 そして、イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、そこに、十二弟子のひとりのユダがきた。また祭司長、民の長老たちから送られた大ぜいの群衆も、剣と棒とを持って彼についてきた。
26:47 And while he yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
26:48 イエスを裏切った者が、あらかじめ彼らに、「わたしの接吻する者が、その人だ。その人をつかまえろ」と合図しておいた。
26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
26:49 彼はすぐイエスに近寄り、「先生、いかがですか」と言って、イエスに接吻した。
26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
26:50 しかし、イエスは彼に言われた、「友よ、なんのためにきたのか」。このとき人々が進み寄って、イエスを手にかけてつかまえた。
26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
26:51 すると、イエスと一緒にいた者のひとりが、手を伸ばして剣を抜き、そして大祭司長の僕に切りかかって、その方耳を切り落とした。
26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and stroke off his ear.
26:52 そこで、イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたの剣をもとの所におさめなさい。剣をとる者はみな、剣で滅びる。
26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
26:53 それとも、わたしが父に願って、天の使いたちを十二軍団以上も、今つかわしていただくことができないと、あなたは思うのか。
26:53 Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
26:54 しかし、それでは、こうならなければならないと書いてある聖書の言葉は、どうして成就されようか」。
26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
26:55 そのとき、イエスは群衆に言われた、「あなたがたは強盗にむかうように、件や棒を持ってわたしを捕らえにきたのか。わたしは毎日、宮ですわって教えていたのに、わたしをつかまえはしなかった。
26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are all of you come out as against a thief with swords and staves in order to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and all of you laid no hold on me.
26:56 しかし、すべてこうなったのは、預言者たちの書いたことが、成就するためである」。そのとき、弟子たちは皆イエスを見捨てて逃げ去った。
26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
26:57 さて、イエスをつかまえた人たちは、大祭司カヤバのところにイエスを連れていった。そこには律法学者、長老たちが集まっていた。
26:57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
26:58 ペテロは遠くからイエスについて、大祭司の中庭まで行き、そのなりゆきを見とどけるために、中にはいって下役ども一緒にすわっていた。
26:58 But Peter followed him far off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
26:59 さて、祭司長たちと全議会とは、イエスを死刑にするため、イエスに不利な偽証を求めようとしていた。
26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
26:60 そこで多くの偽証者が出てきたが、証拠があがらなかった。しかし、最後にふたりの者が出てきて
26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
26:61 言った、「この人は、わたしは神の宮を打ちこわし、三日の後に建てることができる、と言いました」。
26:61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
26:62 すると、大祭司が立ち上がってイエスに言った、「何も答えないのか。これらの人々があなたに対して不利な証言を申し立てているが、どうなのか」。
26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you?
26:63 しかし、イエスは黙っておられた。そこで大祭司は言った、「あなたは神の子キリストなのかどうか、生ける神に誓ってわれわれに答えよ」。
26:63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God.
26:64 イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたが言うとおりである。しかし、わたしは言っておく。あなたがたは、間もなく、人の子が力ある者の右に座し、天の雲に乗ってくるのを見るであろう」。
26:64 Jesus says unto him, You have said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall all of you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
26:65 すると、大祭司はその衣を引き裂いて言った、「彼は神を汚した。どうしてこれ以上、証人の必要があろう。
26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now all of you have heard his blasphemy.
26:66 あなたがたは今このけがし言を聞いた。あなたがたの意見はどうか」。すると、彼らは答えて言った、「彼は死に当たるものだ」。
26:66 What think all of you? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
26:67 それから、彼らはイエスの顔につばをかけて、こぶしで打ち、またある人は手のひらでたたいて言った、
26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others stroke him with the palms of their hands,
26:68 「キリストよ、言いあててみよ、打ったのはだれか」。
26:68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, you Christ, Who is he that stroke you?
26:69 ペテロは外で中庭にすわっていた。するとひとりの女中が彼のところにきて、「あなたもあのガリラヤ人イエスと一緒だった」と言った。
26:69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.
26:70 するとペテロは、みんなの前でそれを打ち消して言った、「あなたが何を言っているのか、わからない」。
26:70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what you says.
26:71 そう言って入り口のほうに出て行くと、ほかの女中が彼を見て、そこにいる人々に向かって、「この人はナザレ人イエスと一緒だった」と言った。
26:71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
26:72 そこで彼は再びそれを打ち消して、「そんな人は知らない」と誓って言った。
26:72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
26:73 しばらくして、そこに立っていた人々が近寄ってきて、ペテロに言った、「確かにあなたも彼らの仲間だ。言葉づかいであなたのことがわんる」。
26:73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrayed you.
26:74 彼は「その人のことは何も知らない」と言って、激しく誓いはじめた。するとすぐ鶏が鳴いた。
26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
26:75 ペテロは「鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われたイエスの言葉を思いだし、外に出て激しく泣いた。
26:75 And Peter remembered the word (o. rhema) of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
27:1 夜が明けると、祭司長たち、民の長老たち一同は、イエスを殺そうと協議をこらした上、
27:1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
27:2 イエスを縛って引き出し、総督ピラトに渡した。
27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
27:3 そのとき、イエスを裏切ったユダは、イエスが罪に定められたのを見て後悔し、銀貨三十枚を祭司長、長老たちに返して
27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4 言った、「わたしは罪のない人の血を売るようなことをして、罪を犯しました」。しかし彼らは言った、「それは、われわれの知ったことか。自分で始末するがよい」。
27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see you to that.
27:5 そこで、彼は銀貨を聖所に投げ込んで出て行き、首をつって死んだ。
27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
27:6 祭司長たちは、その銀貨を拾い上げて言った、「これは血の代価だから、宮の金庫に入れるのはよくない」。
27:6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful in order to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
27:7 そこで彼らは協議の上、外国人の墓地にするために、その金で陶器師の畑を買った。
27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
27:8 そのために、この畑は今日まで血の畑と呼ばれている。
27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
27:9 こうして預言者エレミヤによって言われた言葉が、成就したのである。すなわち、「彼らは、値をつけられたもの、すなわち、イスラエルの子らが値をつけたものの代価、銀貨三十枚を取って、
27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
27:10 主がお命じになったように、陶器師の畑の代価として、その金を与えた」。
27:10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.
27:11 さて、イエスは総督の前に立たれた。すると総督はイエスに尋ねて言った、「あなたはユダヤ人の王であるか」。イエスは「そのとおりである」と言われた。
27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Are you the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, You says.
27:12 しかし、祭司長、長老たちが訴えている間、イエスはひと言ともお答にはならなかった。
27:12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
27:13 するとピラトは言った、「あんなにまで次々に、あなたに不利な証言を立てているのが、あなたには聞こえないのか」。
27:13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hear you not how many things they witness against you?
27:14 しかし、総督が非常に不思議に思ったほどに、イエスは何を言われても、ひと言もお答にならなかった。
27:14 And he answered him to not a word; (o. rhema) insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
27:15 さて、祭のたびごとに、総督は群衆が願い出る囚人ひとりを、やるしてやる慣例になっていた。
27:15 Now at that feast the governor was known to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.
27:16 ときに、バラバという評判の囚人がいた。
27:16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
27:17 それで、彼らが集まったとき、ピラトは言った、「おまえたちは、だれをゆるしてほしいのか。バラバか、それとも、キリストといわれるイエスか」。
27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will all of you that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
27:18 彼らがイエスを引きわたしたのは、ねたみのためであることが、ピラトにはよくわかっていたからである。
27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
27:19 また、ピラトが裁判の席についていたとき、その妻が人を彼のもとにつかわして、「あの義人には関係しないでください。わたしはきょう夢で、あの人のためにさんざんくるしみましたから」と言わせた。
27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have you nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
27:20 しかし、祭司長、長老たちは、バラバをゆるして、イエスを殺してもらうようにと、群衆を説き伏せた。
27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
27:21 総督は彼らにむかって行った、「ふたりのうち、どちらをゆるしてほしいのか」。彼らは「バラバの方を」と言った。
27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the two will all of you that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
27:22 ピラトは言った、「それではキリストといわれるイエスは、どうしたらよいか」。彼らはいっせいに、「十字架につけよ」と言った。
27:22 Pilate says unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
27:23 しかし、ピラトは言った、「あの人は、いったい、どんな悪事をしたのか」。すると彼らはいっそう激しく叫んで、「十字架につけよ」と言った。
27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
27:24 ピラトは手のつけようがなく、かえって暴動になりそうなのを見て、水を取り、群衆の前で手を洗って言った、「この人の血についてわたしには責任がない。おまえたちが自分で始末するがよい」。
27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see all of you to it.
27:25 すると、民衆全体が答えて言った、「その血の責任は、われわれとわれわれの子孫の上にかかってもよい」。
27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
27:26 そこで、ピラトはバラバをゆるしてやり、イエスをむち打ったのち、十字架につけるため引きわたした。
27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
27:27 それから総督の兵士たちは、イエスを官邸に連れて行って、全部隊をイエスのまわりに集めた。
27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
27:28 そしてその上着をぬがせて、赤い外套を着せ、
27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
27:29 また、いばらで冠を編んでその頭にかぶらせ、右の手には葦の棒を持たせ、それからその前にひざまずき、嘲弄して、「ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい」と言った。
27:29 And when they had intertwined a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
27:30 また、イエスにつばきをかけ、葦の棒を取りあげてその頭をたたいた。
27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and stroke him on the head.
27:31 こうしてイエスを嘲弄したあげく、外套をはぎ取って元の上着を着せ、それから十字架につけるため引き出した。
27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
27:32 彼らが出て行くと、シモンという名のクレネ人に出会ったので、イエスの十字架を無理に負わせた。
27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
27:33 そして、ゴルゴタ、すなわち、されこうべの場、という所にきたとき、
27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
27:34 彼らがにがみをまぜたぶどう酒を飲ませようとしたが、イエスはそれをなめただけで、飲もうとされなかった。
27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
27:35 彼らはイエスを十字架につけてから、くじを引いて、その着物を分け、
27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
27:36 そこにすわってイエスの番をしていた。
27:36 And sitting down they watched him there;
27:37 そしてその頭の上の方に、「これはユダヤ人の王イエス」と書いた罪状書きをかかげた。
27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27:38 同時に、ふたりの強盗がイエスと一緒に、ひとりは右に、ひとりは左に、十字架につけられた。
27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
27:39 そこを通りかかった者たちは、頭を振りながら、イエスをののしって
27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
27:40 言った、「神殿を打ちこわして三日のうちに建てる者よ。もし神の子なら、自分を救え。そして十字架からおりてこい」。
27:40 And saying, You that destroys the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
27:41 祭司長たちも同じように、律法学者、長老たちと一緒になって、嘲弄して言った、
27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
27:42 「他人を救ったが、自分自身を救うことができない。あれがイスラエルの王なのだ。いま十字架からおりてみよ。そうしたら信じよう。
27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
27:43 彼は神にたよっているが、神のおぼしめいがあれば、今、救ってもらうがよい。自分は神の子だと言っているのだから」。
27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
27:44 一緒に十字架につけられた強盗どもまでも、おなじようにイエスをののしった。
27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
27:45 さて、昼の十二時から地上の全面が暗くなって、三時に及んだ。
27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
27:46 そして三時ごろに、イエスは大声で叫んで、「エリ、エリ、レマ、サバクタニ」と言われた。それは「わが神、わが神、どうしてわたしをお見捨てになったのですか」という意味である。
27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
27:47 すると、そこに立っていたある人々が、これを聞いて言った、「あれはエリヤを呼んでいるのだ」。
27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calls for Elijah.
27:48 するとすぐ、彼らのうちのひとりが走り寄って、海綿を取り、それに酢いぶどう酒を含ませて葦の棒につけ、イエスに飲ませようとした。
27:48 And immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
27:49 ほかの人々は言った、「待て、エリヤが彼を救いにくるかどうか、見ていよう」。
27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.
27:50 イエスはもう一度大声で叫んで、ついに息をひきとられた。
27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the spirit. (o. pneuma)
27:51 すると見よ、神殿の幕が上から下まで真二つに裂けた。また地震があり、岩が裂け、
27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
27:52 また墓が開け、眠っている多くの聖徒たちの死体が生き返った。
27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
27:53 そしてイエスの復活ののち、墓から出てきて、聖なる都にはいり、多くの人に現れた。
27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
27:54 百卒長、および彼と一緒にイエスの番をしていた人々は、地震やいろいろのできごとを見て非常に恐れ、「まことに、この人は神の子であった」と言った。
27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
27:55 また、そこには遠くの方から見ている女たちも多くいた。彼らはイエスに仕えて、ガリラヤから従ってきた人たちであった。
27:55 And many women were there beholding far off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
27:56 その中には、マグダラのマリヤ、ヤコブとヨセフとの母マリヤ、またゼベダイの子たちの母がいた。
27:56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.
27:57 夕方になってから、アリマタヤの金持で、ヨセフという名の人がきた。彼もまたイエスの弟子であった。
27:57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
27:58 この人がピラトの所へ行って、イエスのからだの引取りかたを願った。そこで、ピラトはそれを渡すように命じた。
27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
27:59 ヨセフは死体を受け取って、きれいな亜麻布に包み、
27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
27:60 岩を掘って造った彼の新しい墓に納め、そして墓の入口に大きい石をころがしておいて、帰った。
27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
27:61 マグダラのマリヤとほかのマリヤとが、墓にむかってそこにすわっていた。
27:61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting opposite to the tomb.
27:62 あくる日は準備の日の翌日であったが、その日に、祭司長、パリサイ人たちは、ピラトのもとに集まって言った、
27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
27:63 「長官、あの偽り者がまだ生きていたとき、『三日の後に自分はよみがえる』と言ったのを、思い出しました。
27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
27:64 ですから、三日目まで墓の番をするように、さしずをして下さい。そうしないと、弟子たちがきて彼を盗み出し、『イエスは死人の中から、よみがえった』と、民衆に言いふらすかも知れません。そうなると、みんなが前よりも、もっとひどくだまされることになりましょう」。
27:64 Command therefore that the tomb be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He has risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
27:65 ピラトは彼らに言った、「番人がいるから、行ってできる限り、番をさせるがよい」。
27:65 Pilate said unto them, All of you have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as all of you can.
27:66 そこで、彼らは行って石に封印をし、番人を置いて墓の番をさせた。
27:66 So they went, and made the tomb sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
28:1 さて、安息日が終わって、週の初めの日の明け方に、マグダラのマリヤとほかのマリヤとが、墓を見にきた。
28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the tomb.
28:2 すると、大きな地震が起こった。それは主の使いが天から下って、そこにきて石をわきにころがし、その上にすわったからである。
28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
28:3 その姿はいなずまのように輝き、その衣は雪のように真っ白であった。
28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
28:4 見張りをしていた人たちは、恐ろしさの余り震えあがって、死人のようになった。
28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
28:5 この御使は女たちにむかって言った、「恐れることはない。あなたがたは十字架にかかったイエスを捜していることは、わたしにわかっているが、
28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not all of you: for I know that all of you seek Jesus, which was crucified.
28:6 もうここにおられない。かねて言われたとおりに、よみがえられたのである。さあ、イエスが納められていた場所をごらんなさい。
28:6 He is not here: for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
28:7 そして、急いで行って、弟子たちにこう伝えなさい、『イエスは死人の中からよみがえられた。見よ、あなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行かれる。そこでお会いできるであろう』。あなたがたに、これだけ言っておく」。
28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there shall all of you see him: lo, I have told you.
28:8 そこで女たちは恐れながらも大喜びで、急いで墓を立ち去り、弟子たちに知らせるために走って行った。
28:8 And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
28:9 すると、イエスは彼らに出会って、「平安あれ」と言われたので、彼らは近寄りイエスのみ足をいだいて拝した。
28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
28:10 そのとき、イエスは彼らに言われた、「恐れることはない。行って兄弟たちに、ガリラヤに行け、そこでわたしと会えるであろう、と告げなさい」。
28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
28:11 女たちが行っている間に、番人のうちのある人々が都に帰って、いっさいの出来事を祭司長たちに話した。
28:11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
28:12 祭司長たちは長老たちと集まって協議をこらし、兵卒たちにたくさんの金を与えて言った、
28:12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
28:13 「『弟子たちが夜中にきて、われわれの寝ている間に彼を盗んだ』と言え。
28:13 Saying, Say all of you, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14 万一のことが総督の耳にはいっても、われわれが総督に説いて、あなたがたに迷惑が掛からないようにしよう」。
28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
28:15 そこで、彼らは金を受け取って、教えられたとおりにした。そしてこの話しは、今日に至るまでユダヤ人の間にひろまっている。
28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying (o. logos) is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
28:16 さて、十一人の弟子たちはガリラヤに行って、イエスが彼らに行くように命じられた山に登った。
28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
28:17 そして、イエスにあって拝した。しかし、疑う者もいた。
28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
28:18 イエスは彼らに近づいてきて言われた、「わたしは、天においても地においても、いっさいの権威を授けられた。
28:18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
28:19 それゆえに、あなたがたは行って、すべての国民を弟子として、父と子と聖霊との名によって、彼らにバプテスマを施し、
28:19 Go all of you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: (o. pneuma)
28:20 あなたがたに命じておいたいっさいのことを守るように教えよ。見よ、わたしは世の終わりまで、いつもあなたがたと共にいるのである」。
28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
