Zephaniah / ゼパニヤ書
1:1 ユダの王アモンの子ヨシヤの世に、ゼパニヤに臨んだ主の言葉。ゼパニヤはクシの子、クシはゲダリヤの子、ゲダリヤはアマリヤの子、アマリヤはヒゼキヤの子である。
1:1 The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
1:2 主は言われる、「わたしは地のおもてからすべてのものを一掃する」。
1:2 I will utterly consume all things from off the land, says the LORD.
1:3 主は言われる、「わたしは人も獣も一掃し、空の鳥、海の魚をも一掃する。わたしは悪人を倒す。わたしは地のおもてから人を絶ち滅ぼす」。
1:3 I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, says the LORD.
1:4 「わたしはユダとエルサレムの／すべての住民との上に手を伸べる。わたしはこの所からバアルの残党と、偶像の祭司の名とを断つ。
1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
1:5 また屋上で天の万象を拝む者、主に誓いを立てて拝みながら、またミルコムをさして誓う者、
1:5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
1:6 主にそむいて従わない者、主を求めず、主を尋ねない者を断つ」。
1:6 And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.
1:7 主なる神の前に沈黙せよ。主の日は近づき、主はすでに犠牲を備え、その招いた者を聖別されたからである。
1:7 Hold your peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD has prepared a sacrifice, he has bid his guest.
1:8 主の犠牲をささげる日に、「わたしはつかさたちと王の子たち、およびすべて異邦の衣服を着る者を罰する。
1:8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
1:9 その日にわたしはまた、すべて敷居をとび越え、暴虐と欺きとを自分の主君の家に満たす者を罰する」。
1:9 In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
1:10 主は言われる、「その日には魚の門から叫び声がおこり、第二の町からうめき声がおこり、もろもろの丘からすさまじい響きがおこる。
1:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.
1:11 しっくいの家の住民よ、泣き叫べ。あきないする民は皆滅ぼされ、銀を量る者は皆断たれるからである。
1:11 Wail, all of you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
1:12 その時、わたしはともしびをもって、エルサレムを尋ねる。そして滓の上に凝り固まり、その心の中で／『主は良いことも、悪いこともしない』と／言う人々をわたしは罰する。
1:12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their sediments of wine: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
1:13 彼らの財宝はかすめられ、彼らの家は荒れはてる。彼らは家を建てても、それに住むことができない、ぶどう畑を作っても、そのぶどう酒を飲むことができない」。
1:13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
1:14 主の大いなる日は近い、近づいて、すみやかに来る。主の日の声は耳にいたい。そこに、勇士もいたく叫ぶ。
1:14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hastes greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
1:15 その日は怒りの日、なやみと苦しみの日、荒れ、また滅びる日、暗く、薄暗い日、雲と黒雲の日、
1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
1:16 ラッパとときの声の日、堅固な町と高いやぐらを攻める日である。
1:16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
1:17 わたしは人々になやみを下して、盲人のように歩かせる。彼らが主に対して罪を犯したからである。彼らの血はちりのように流され、彼らの肉は糞土のように捨てられる。
1:17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
1:18 彼らの銀も金も、主の怒りの日には彼らを救うことができない。全地は主のねたみの火にのまれる。主は地に住む人々をたちまち滅ぼし尽される。
1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy purging of all them that dwell in the land.
2:1 あなたがた、恥を知らぬ民よ、共につどい、集まれ。
2:1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2:2 すなわち、もみがらのように追いやられる前に、主の激しい怒りがまだあなたがたに臨まない前に、主の憤りの日がまだあなたがたに来ない前に。
2:2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.
2:3 すべて主の命令を行うこの地のへりくだる者よ、主を求めよ。正義を求めよ。謙遜を求めよ。そうすればあなたがたは主の怒りの日に、あるいは隠されることがあろう。
2:3 Seek all of you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be all of you shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.
2:4 ともあれ、ガザは捨てられ、アシケロンは荒れはて、アシドドは真昼に追い払われ、エクロンは抜き去られる。
2:4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
2:5 わざわいなるかな、海べに住む者、ケレテの国民。ペリシテびとの地、カナンよ、主の言葉があなたがたに臨む。わたしはあなたを滅ぼして、住む者がないようにする。
2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy you, that there shall be no inhabitant.
2:6 海べよ、あなたは牧場となり、羊飼の牧草地となり、また羊のおりとなる。
2:6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
2:7 海べはユダの家の残りの者に帰する。彼らはその所で群れを養い、夕暮にはアシケロンの家に伏す。彼らの神、主が彼らを顧み、その幸福を回復されるからである。
2:7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
2:8 「わたしはモアブのあざけりと、アンモンの人々の、ののしりを聞いた。彼らはわが民をあざけり、自ら誇って彼らの国境を侵した。
2:8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
2:9 それゆえ、万軍の主、イスラエルの神は言われる、わたしは生きている。モアブは必ずソドムのようになる。アンモンの人々はゴモラのようになる。いらくさと塩穴とがここを占領して、永遠に荒れ地となる。わが民の残りの者は彼らをかすめ、わが国民の残りの者はこを所有する」。
2:9 Therefore as I live, says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and salt-pits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
2:10 この事の彼らに臨むのはその高ぶりによるのだ。彼らが万軍の主の民をあざけり、みずから誇ったからである。
2:10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
2:11 主は彼らに対して恐るべき者となられる。主は地のすべての神々を飢えさせられる。もろもろの国の民は、おのおの自分の所から出て主を拝む。
2:11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
2:12 エチオピヤびとよ、あなたがたもまた／わがつるぎによって殺される。
2:12 All of you Ethiopians also, all of you shall be slain by my sword.
2:13 主はまた北に向かって手を伸べ、アッスリヤを滅ぼし、ニネベを荒して、荒野のような、かわいた地とされる。
2:13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
2:14 家畜の群れ、もろもろの野の獣はその中に伏し、はげたかや、やまあらしはその柱の頂に住み、ふくろうは、その窓のうちになき、からすは、その敷居の上に鳴く。その香柏の細工が裸にされるからである。
2:14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds; for he shall uncover the cedar work.
2:15 この町は勝ち誇って、安らかに落ち着き、その心の中で、「ただわたしだけだ、わたしの外にはだれもない」と／言った町であるが、このように荒れはてて、獣の伏す所になってしまった。ここを通り過ぎる者は／皆あざけって、手を振る。
2:15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passes by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
3:1 わざわいなるかな、このそむき汚れた暴虐の町。
3:1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
3:2 これはだれの声にも耳を傾けず、懲らしめを受けいれず、主に寄り頼まず、おのれの神に近よらない。
3:2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
3:3 その中にいるつかさたちは、ほえるしし、そのさばきびとたちは、夜のおおかみで、彼らは朝まで何一つ残さない。
3:3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the next day.
3:4 その預言者たちは、放縦で偽りびと、その祭司たちは聖なる物を汚し、律法を破る。
3:4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
3:5 その中にいます主は義であって、不義を行われない。朝ごとにその公義を現して、誤ることがない。しかし不義な者は恥を知らない。
3:5 The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning does he bring his judgment to light, he fails not; but the unjust knows no shame.
3:6 「わたしは諸国民を滅ぼした。そのやぐらは荒れはてた。わたしはそのちまたを荒したので、ちまたを行き来する者もない。その町々は荒れすたれて、人の姿もなく、住む者もない。
3:6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passes by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
3:7 わたしは言った、『これは必ずわたしを恐れ、懲らしめを受ける。これはわたしが命じたすべての事を見失わない』と。しかし彼らはしきりに自分の行状を乱した」。
3:7 I said, Surely you will fear me, you will receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
3:8 主は言われる、「それゆえ、あなたがたは、わたしが立って、証言する日を待て。わたしの決意は諸国民をよせ集め、もろもろの国を集めて、わが憤り、わが激しい怒りを／ことごとくその上に注ぐことであって、全地は、ねたむわたしの怒りの火に／焼き滅ぼされるかである。
3:8 Therefore wait all of you upon me, says the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
3:9 その時わたしはもろもろの民に清きくちびるを与え、すべて彼らに主の名を呼ばせ、心を一つにして主に仕えさせる。
3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
3:10 わたしを拝む者、わたしが散らした者の娘は／エチオピヤの川々の向こうから来て、わたしに供え物をささげる。
3:10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
3:11 その日には、あなたはわたしにそむいたすべてのわざのゆえに、はずかしめられることはない。その時わたしはあなたのうちから、高ぶって誇る者どもを除くゆえ、あなたは重ねてわが聖なる山で、高ぶることはない。
3:11 In that day shall you not be ashamed for all your doings, wherein you have transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of you them that rejoice in your pride, and you shall no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
3:12 わたしは柔和にしてへりくだる民を、あなたのうちに残す。彼らは主の名を避け所とする。
3:12 I will also leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
3:13 イスラエルの残りの者は不義を行わず、偽りを言わず、その口には欺きの舌を見ない。それゆえ、彼らは食を得て伏し、彼らをおびやかす者はいない」。
3:13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
3:14 シオンの娘よ、喜び歌え。イスラエルよ、喜び呼ばわれ。エルサレムの娘よ、心のかぎり喜び楽しめ。
3:14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
3:15 主はあなたを訴える者を取り去り、あなたの敵を追い払われた。イスラエルの王なる主はあなたのうちにいます。あなたはもはや災を恐れることはない。
3:15 The LORD has taken away your judgments, he has cast out yours enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of you: you shall not see evil any more.
3:16 その日、人々はエルサレムに向かって言う、「シオンよ、恐れるな。あなたの手を弱々しくたれるな。
3:16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear you not: and to Zion, Let not yours hands be slack.
3:17 あなたの神、主はあなたのうちにいまし、勇士であって、勝利を与えられる。彼はあなたのために喜び楽しみ、その愛によってあなたを新にし、祭の日のようにあなたのために喜び呼ばわられる」。
3:17 The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over you with singing.
3:18 「わたしはあなたから悩みを取り去る。あなたは恥を受けることはない。
3:18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of you, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
3:19 見よ、その時あなたをしえたげる者を／わたしはことごとく処分し、足なえを救い、追いやられた者を集め、彼らの恥を誉にかえ、全地にほめられるようにする。
3:19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict you: and I will save her that haltes, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
3:20 その時、わたしはあなたがたを連れかえる。わたしがあなたがたを集めるとき、わたしがあなたがたの目の前に、あなたがたの幸福を回復するとき、地のすべての民の中で、あなたがたに名を得させ、誉を得させる」と／主は言われる。
3:20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, says the LORD.
