13:1 主はわたしにこう言われた、「行って、亜麻布の帯を買い、腰に結べ。水につけてはならない」。
13:1 Thus says the LORD unto me, Go and get you a linen girdle, and put it upon your loins, and put it not in water.
13:2 そこで、わたしは主の言葉に従い、帯を買って腰に結んだ。
13:2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
13:3 主の言葉は、再びわたしに臨んで言った、
13:3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,
13:4 「あなたが買って腰に結んでいる帯を手に取り、立ってユフラテの川へ行き、その所の岩の裂け目にこれを隠せ」。
13:4 Take the girdle that you have got, which is upon your loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
13:5 わたしは主が命じられたように、行って、これをユフラテの川のほとりに隠した。
13:5 So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
13:6 多くの日を経てのち、主はわたしに言われた、「立って、ユフラテの川へ行き、あなたに命じて、そこに隠させた帯をその所から取ってきなさい」。
13:6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded you to hide there.
13:7 そこでわたしはユフラテの川へ行き、地を掘って、隠した所から帯を取り出したが、その帯はそこなわれて、役に立たなくなっていた。
13:7 Then I went to Euphrates, and dug, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was ruined, it was profitable for nothing.
13:8 その時、主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
13:8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
13:9 「主はこう仰せられる、これと同じように、わたしはユダの高ぶりとエルサレムの大いなる高ぶりを、破るのである。
13:9 Thus says the LORD, After this manner will I ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
13:10 この悪しき民はわたしの言葉を聞くことを拒み、自分の心を強情にして歩み、また他の神々に従ってこれに仕え、これを拝んでいる。彼らはこの帯のように、なんの役にも立たなくなる」。
13:10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
13:11 主は言われる、「帯が人の腰に着くように、イスラエルのすべての家とユダのすべての家とをわたしに着かせ、これをわたしの民とし、名とし、誉とし、栄えとしようとした。しかし彼らは聞き従おうともしなかった」。
13:11 For as the girdle cleaves to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, says the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
13:12 「あなたはこの言葉を彼らに語らなければならない、『イスラエルの神はこう言われる、酒つぼには、みな酒が満ちる』と。彼らはあなたに言うであろう、『酒つぼに、みな酒が満ちることをわれわれが知らないことがあろうか』と。
13:12 Therefore you shall speak unto them this word; Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto you, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
13:13 その時、あなたは彼らに言わなければならない、『主はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはこの地に住むすべての者と、ダビデの位に座す王たちと、祭司と預言者およびエルサレムに住むすべての者に酔いを満たし、
13:13 Then shall you say unto them, Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
13:14 彼らを互に打ち当てて砕く。父と子をもそのようにすると、主は言われる。わたしは彼らをあわれまず、惜しまず、かわいそうとも思わずに滅ぼす』と」。
13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
13:15 耳を傾けて聞け、高ぶってはならない、主がお語りになるからである。
13:15 Hear all of you, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD has spoken.
13:16 主がまだやみを起されないうちに、またあなたがたの足が／薄暗がりの山につまずかないうちに、あなたがたの神、主に栄光を帰せよ。さもないと、あなたがたが光を望んでいる間に、主はそれを暗黒に変え、それを暗やみとされるからである。
13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while all of you look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
13:17 もしあなたがたが聞かないならば、わたしの魂はひそかな所で、あなたがたの高ぶりのために悲しむ。また主の群れが、かすめられたために、わたしの目はいたく泣いて、涙を流すのである。
13:17 But if all of you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive.
13:18 王と太后とに告げよ、「あなたがたは低い座にすわりなさい。麗しい冠はすでに／あなたがたの頭から落ちてしまったからです」。
13:18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.
13:19 ネゲブの町々は閉ざされて、これを開く人がない。ユダはみな捕え移される、ことごとく捕え移される。
13:19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
13:20 「目をあげて、北の方からくる者を見よ、あなたに賜わった群れ、あなたの麗しい群れはどこにいるのか。
13:20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock?
13:21 彼らがあなたの親しみ慣れた人たちを、あなたの上に立ててかしらとするとき、あなたは何を言おうとするのか。あなたの苦しみは、子を産む女の苦しみのようでないであろうか。
13:21 What will you say when he shall punish you? for you have taught them to be captains, and as chief over you: shall not sorrows take you, as a woman in travail?
13:22 あなたが心のうちに、『どうしてこのようなことが／わたしに起ったのか』というならば、あなたの罪が重いゆえに、あなたの着物のすそはあげられ、はずかしめを受けるのだ。
13:22 And if you say in yours heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of yours iniquity are your skirts discovered, and your heels made bare.
13:23 エチオピヤびとは／その皮膚を変えることができようか。ひょうはその斑点を変えることができようか。もしそれができるならば、悪に慣れたあなたがたも、善を行うことができる。
13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may all of you also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
13:24 わたしはあなたがたを散らし、野の風に吹き散らされるもみがらのようにする。
13:24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.
13:25 主は言われる、これがあなたに授けられた定め、わたしが量ってあなたに与える分である。あなたがわたしを忘れて、偽りを頼みとしたからだ。
13:25 This is your lot, the portion of your measures from me, says the LORD; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
13:26 わたしはまたあなたの着物のすそを顔まであげて、あなたの恥をあらわす。
13:26 Therefore will I discover your skirts upon your face, that your shame may appear.
13:27 わたしはあなたの憎むべき行い、あなたの姦淫と、いななき、野の丘の上で行ったあなたのみだらな行いを見た。エルサレムよ、あなたはわざわいだ、あなたの清められるのはいつのことであろうか」。
13:27 I have seen yours adulteries, and your neighings, the lewdness of your whoredom, and yours abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto you, O Jerusalem! will you not be made clean? when shall it once be?
14:1 ひでりの事についてエレミヤに臨んだ主の言葉。
14:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.
14:2 「ユダは悲しみ、その町々の門は傾き、民は地に座して嘆き、エルサレムの叫びはあがる。
14:2 Judah mourns, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
14:3 その君たちは、しもべをつかわして水をくませる。彼らが井戸の所にきても、水は見つからず、むなしい器をもって帰り、恥じ、かつ当惑して、その頭をおおう。
14:3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
14:4 地に雨が降らず、土が、かわいて割れたため、農夫は恥じて、その頭をおおう。
14:4 Because the ground is cracked, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
14:5 野にいる雌じかでさえも子を産んで、これを捨てる。草がないからである。
14:5 Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.
14:6 野ろばは、はげ山の上に立って、山犬のようにあえぎ、草のないために、その目はくらむ。
14:6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
14:7 主よ、われわれの罪がわれわれを訴えて／不利な証言をしても、あなたの名のために、事をなしてください。われわれの背信の数は多く、あなたに向かって罪を犯しました。
14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do you it for your name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.
14:8 イスラエルの望みなる主よ、悩みの時の救主よ、なぜ、あなたはこの地に住む異邦の人のようにし、また一夜の宿りのために立ち寄る旅びとのように／なさらねばならないのですか。
14:8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why should you be as a stranger in the land, and as a travelling man that turns aside to tarry for a night?
14:9 なぜ、あなたは、うろたえている人のようにし、また人を救いえない勇士のように／なさらねばならないのですか。主よ、あなたはわれわれのうちにいらせられます。われわれは、み名によって呼ばれている者です。われわれを見捨てないでください」。
14:9 Why should you be as a man astonished, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet you, O LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; leave us not.
14:10 この民について主はこう言われる、「彼らはこのように好んで、さまよい、その足をとどめることをしなかったので、主は彼らを喜ばず、いまそのとがを覚え、その罪を罰するのだ」。
14:10 Thus says the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD does not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
14:11 主はわたしに言われた、「この民のために恵みを祈ってはならない。
14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.
14:12 彼らが断食しても、わたしは彼らの呼ぶのを聞かない。燔祭と素祭をささげても、わたしはそれを受けない。かえって、つるぎと、ききん、および疫病をもって、彼らを滅ぼしてしまう」。
14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
14:13 わたしは言った、「ああ、主なる神よ、預言者たちはこの民に向かい、『あなたがたは、つるぎを見ることはない。ききんもこない。わたしはこの所に確かな平安をあなたがたに与える』と言っています」。
14:13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, All of you shall not see the sword, neither shall all of you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
14:14 主はわたしに言われた、「預言者らはわたしの名によって偽りの預言をしている。わたしは彼らをつかわさなかった。また彼らに命じたこともなく、話したこともない。彼らは偽りの黙示と、役に立たない占い、および自分の心でつくりあげた欺きをあなたがたに預言しているのだ。
14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their heart.
14:15 それゆえ、わたしがつかわさないのに、わたしの名によって預言して、『つるぎとききんは、この地にこない』と言っているあの預言者について、主はこう仰せられる、この預言者らは、つるぎとききんに滅ぼされる。
14:15 Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
14:16 また彼らの預言を聞く民は、ききんとつるぎとによって、エルサレムのちまたに投げ捨てられる。だれもこれを葬る者はない。彼らとその妻、およびそのむすこ娘も同様である。わたしが彼らの悪をその上に注ぐからである。
14:16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
14:17 この言葉を彼らに語れ、『わたしの目は夜も昼も絶えず涙を流す。わが民の娘であるおとめが大きな傷と／重い打撃によって滅ぼされるからである。
14:17 Therefore you shall say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.
14:18 わたしが出て畑に行くと、つるぎで殺された者がある。町にはいると、ききんで病んでいる者がある。預言者も祭司も共にその地にさまよって、知るところがない』」。
14:18 If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.
14:19 あなたはまったくユダを捨てられたのですか。あなたの心はシオンをきらわれるのですか。あなたはわれわれを撃ったのに、どうしていやしてはくださらないのですか。われわれは平安を望んだが、良い事はこなかった。いやされる時を望んだが、かえって恐怖が来た。
14:19 Have you utterly rejected Judah? has your soul loathed Zion? why have you smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!
14:20 主よ、われわれは自分の悪と、先祖のとがとを認めています。われわれはあなたに罪を犯しました。
14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against you.
14:21 み名のために、われわれを捨てないでください。あなたの栄えあるみ位を／はずかしめないでください。あなたがわれわれにお立てになった契約を覚えて、それを破らないでください。
14:21 Do not detest us, for your name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, break not your covenant with us.
14:22 異邦の偽りの神々のうちに、雨を降らせうる者があるであろうか。天が自分で夕立を降らすことができようか。われわれの神、主よ、あなたこそ、これをなさる方ではありませんか。われわれの待ち望むのはあなたです。あなたがこれらすべてのことをなさるからです。
14:22 Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? are not you he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon you: for you have made all these things.
15:1 主はわたしに言われた、「たといモーセとサムエルとがわたしの前に立っても、わたしの心はこの民を顧みない。彼らをわたしの前から追い出し、ここを去らせよ。
15:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
15:2 もし彼らが、『われわれはどこに行けばよいのか』とあなたに尋ねるならば、彼らに言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、疫病に定められた者は疫病に、つるぎに定められた者はつるぎに、ききんに定められた者はききんに、とりこに定められた者はとりこに行く』。
15:2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto you, Where shall we go forth? then you shall tell them, Thus says the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
15:3 主は仰せられる、わたしは四つの物をもって彼らを罰する。すなわち、つるぎをもって殺し、犬をもってかませ、空の鳥と地の獣をもって食い滅ぼさせる。
15:3 And I will appoint over them four kinds, says the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
15:4 またユダの王ヒゼキヤの子マナセが、エルサレムでした行いのゆえに、わたしは彼らを地のすべての国が見て恐れおののくものとする。
15:4 And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
15:5 エルサレムよ、だれがあなたをあわれむであろうか。だれがあなたのために嘆くであろうか。だれがふり返って、あなたの安否を問うであろうか。
15:5 For who shall have pity upon you, O Jerusalem? or who shall lament for you? or who shall go aside to ask how you do?
15:6 主は言われる、あなたはわたしを捨てた。そしてますます退いて行く。それゆえ、わたしは手を伸べてあなたを滅ぼした。わたしはあわれむことには飽きた。
15:6 You have forsaken me, says the LORD, you are gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against you, and destroy you; I am weary with repenting.
15:7 わたしはこの地の門で、箕で彼らをあおぎ分けた。彼らがその道を離れなかったので、わたしは彼らの子を奪い、わが民を滅ぼした。
15:7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people since they return not from their ways.
15:8 わたしは彼らの寡婦の数を／浜べの砂よりも多くした。わたしは真昼に、滅ぼす者を連れてきて、若者らの母たちをせめ、驚きと恐れを、にわかに母たちにおこした。
15:8 Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
15:9 七人の子を産んだ女は、弱り衰えて、息絶え、まだ昼であったが、彼女の日は没した。彼女は恥じ、うろたえた。その残りの者は、これを敵のつるぎに渡すと／主は言われる」。
15:9 She that has borne seven languishes: she has given up the spirit; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she has been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, says the LORD.
15:10 ああ、わたしはわざわいだ。わが母よ、あなたは、なぜ、わたしを産んだのか。全国の人はわたしと争い、わたしを攻める。わたしは人に貸したこともなく、人に借りたこともないのに、皆わたしをのろう。
15:10 Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on interest, nor men have lent to me on interest; yet every one of them does curse me.
15:11 主よ、もしわたしが彼らの幸福をあなたに祈り求めず、また敵のため、その悩みのときと、災のときに、わたしがあなたにとりなしをしなかったのであれば、彼らののろいも、やむをえないでしょう。
15:11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with your remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to plead you well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
15:12 人は鉄を、北からくる鉄や青銅を砕くことができましょうか。
15:12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
15:13 「わたしはあなたの富と宝を、ぶんどり物として他に与える。代価を受けることはできない。それはあなたのすべての罪によるので、領域内のいたる所にこのことが起る。
15:13 Your substance and your treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.
15:14 わたしはあなたの知らない地で、あなたの敵に仕えさせる。わたしの怒りによって火は点じられ、いつまでも燃え続けるからである」。
15:14 And I will make you to pass with yours enemies into a land which you know not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.
15:15 主よ、あなたは知っておられます。わたしを覚え、わたしを顧みてください。わたしを迫害する者に、あだを返し、あなたの寛容によって、わたしを取り去らないでください。わたしがあなたのために、はずかしめを受けるのを知ってください。
15:15 O LORD, you know: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in your longsuffering: know that for your sake I have suffered rebuke.
15:16 わたしはみ言葉を与えられて、それを食べました。み言葉は、わたしに喜びとなり、心の楽しみとなりました。万軍の神、主よ、わたしは、あなたの名をもって／となえられている者です。
15:16 Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.
15:17 わたしは笑いさざめく人のつどいに／すわることなく、また喜ぶことをせず、ただひとりですわっていました。あなたの手がわたしの上にあり、あなたが憤りをもって／わたしを満たされたからです。
15:17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of your hand: for you have filled me with indignation.
15:18 どうしてわたしの痛みは止まらず、傷は重くて、なおらないのですか。あなたはわたしにとって、水がなくて人を欺く／谷川のようになられるのですか。
15:18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? will you be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?
15:19 それゆえ主はこう仰せられる、「もしあなたが帰ってくるならば、もとのようにして、わたしの前に立たせよう。もしあなたが、つまらないことを言うのをやめて、貴重なことを言うならば、わたしの口のようになる。彼らはあなたの所に帰ってくる。しかしあなたが彼らの所に帰るのではない。
15:19 Therefore thus says the LORD, If you return, then will I bring you again, and you shall stand before me: and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: let them return unto you; but return not you unto them.
15:20 わたしはあなたをこの民の前に、堅固な青銅の城壁にする。彼らがあなたを攻めても、あなたに勝つことはできない。わたしがあなたと共にいて、あなたを助け、あなたを救うからであると、主は言われる。
15:20 And I will make you unto this people a fenced brazen wall: and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you: for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says the LORD.
15:21 わたしはあなたを悪人の手から救い、無慈悲な人の手からあがなう」。
15:21 And I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.
16:1 主の言葉はまたわたしに臨んだ、
16:1 The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,
16:2 「あなたはこの所で妻をめとってはならない。またむすこ娘を持ってはならない。
16:2 You shall not take you a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters in this place.
16:3 この所で生れるむすこ娘と、この地でこれを産む母たちと、これを生む父たちとについて主はこう言われる、
16:3 For thus says the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that brings forth them in this land;
16:4 彼らは死の病にかかって死に、哀悼する者もなく、埋葬する者もなく、地のおもてに、糞土のようになる。またつるぎと、ききんに滅ぼされて、その死体は空の鳥と地の獣の食い物となる。
16:4 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcasses shall be food for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
16:5 主はこう言われる、喪のある家に、はいってはならない。また行って、それを悲しみ嘆いてはならない。わたしがこの民からわたしの平安と、いつくしみと、あわれみとを取り去ったからであると、主は言われる。
16:5 For thus says the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor lament for them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, says the LORD, even loving kindness and mercies.
16:6 大いなる者も小さき者も、この地に死ぬ。彼らは葬られず、また彼らのために悲しむ者もなく、自分の身を傷つける者もなく、髪をそる者もない。
16:6 Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
16:7 悲しむ者のためにパンをさいて、死者のためにこれを慰める者はなく、また父あるいは母のために慰めの杯をこれに与えて飲ませる者もない。
16:7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
16:8 またあなたは宴会をする家にはいって、人々と共にすわって食い飲みしてはならない。
16:8 You shall not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
16:9 万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる、見よ、あなたの目の前で、あなたのなおこの世にいる間に、わたしは喜びの声と楽しみの声、花婿の声と花嫁の声とをこの所に絶やしてしまう。
16:9 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of delight, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
16:10 あなたがこのすべての言葉をこの民に告げるとき、彼らがあなたに尋ねて、『主がわれわれにこの大きな災を宣告されるのはどうしてですか。われわれにどんな悪い所があるのですか。われわれの神、主にそむいて、われわれが犯した罪とはなんですか』と言うならば、
16:10 And it shall come to pass, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall say unto you, Wherefore has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
16:11 あなたは彼らに答えなければならない、『主は仰せられる、それはあなたがたの先祖がわたしを捨てて他の神々に従い、これに仕え、これを拝し、またわたしを捨て、わたしの律法を守らなかったからである。
16:11 Then shall you say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
16:12 あなたがたは、あなたがたの先祖よりも、いっそう悪いことをした。見よ、あなたがたはおのおの自分の悪い強情な心に従い、わたしに聞き従うことはしない。
16:12 And all of you have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, all of you walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
16:13 それゆえ、わたしはあなたがたをこの地より追い出し、あなたがたも、あなたがたの先祖も知らない地に行かせる。その所であなたがたは昼夜、ほかの神々に仕えるようになる。これはわたしがあなたがたにあわれみを示さないからである』と。
16:13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that all of you know not, neither all of you nor your fathers; and there shall all of you serve other gods day and night; where I will not show you favour.
16:14 主は言われる、それゆえ、見よ、こののち『イスラエルの民をエジプトの地から導き出した主は生きておられる』とは言わないで、
16:14 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
16:15 『イスラエルの民を北の国と、そのすべて追いやられた国々から導き出した主は生きておられる』という日がくる。わたしが彼らを、その先祖に与えた彼らの地に導きかえすからである。
16:15 But, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands where he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
16:16 主は言われる、見よ、わたしは多くの漁夫を呼んできて、彼らをすなどらせ、また、そののち多くの猟師を呼んできて、もろもろの山、もろもろの丘、および岩の裂け目から彼らをかり出させる。
16:16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, says the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
16:17 わたしの目は彼らのすべての道を見ているからである。みなわたしに隠れてはいない。またその悪はわたしの目に隠れることはない。
16:17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
16:18 わたしはその悪とその罪の報いを二倍にする。彼らがその忌むべき偶像の死体をもって、わたしの地を汚し、その憎むべきものをもって、わたしの嗣業を満たしたからである」。
16:18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.
16:19 主、わが力、わが城、悩みの時の、のがれ場よ、万国の民は地の果から／あなたのもとにきて申します、「われわれの先祖が受け嗣いだのは、ただ偽りと、役に立たないつまらない事ばかりです。
16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto you from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
16:20 人が自分で神々を造ることができましょうか。そういうものは神ではありません」。
16:20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
16:21 「それゆえ、見よ、わたしは彼らに知らせよう。すなわち、この際わたしの力と、わたしの勢いとを知らせよう。彼らはわたしの名が、主であることを知るようになる」。
16:21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
17:1 「ユダの罪は、鉄の筆、金剛石のとがりをもってしるされ、彼らの心の碑と、祭壇の角に彫りつけられている。
17:1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
17:2 彼らの子供たちは青木の下と、高い丘の上、野の山の上にある祭壇とアシラのことを覚えている。
17:2 Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
17:3 わたしはあなたの富とすべての宝とを、あなたの全領域の内で犯した罪の代価として、ぶんどり物とならせる。
17:3 O my mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures to the spoil, and your high places for sin, throughout all your borders.
17:4 わたしがあなたに与えた嗣業からあなたは手をはなすようになる。またわたしは、あなたの知らない地で、あなたの敵に仕えさせる。わたしの怒りによって、火は点じられ、いつまでも燃え続けるからである」。
17:4 And you, even yourself, shall discontinue from yours heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve yours enemies in the land which you know not: for all of you have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
17:5 主はこう言われる、「おおよそ人を頼みとし肉なる者を自分の腕とし、その心が主を離れている人は、のろわれる。
17:5 Thus says the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.
17:6 彼は荒野に育つ小さい木のように、何も良いことの来るのを見ない。荒野の、干上がった所に住み、人の住まない塩地にいる。
17:6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
17:7 おおよそ主にたより、主を頼みとする人はさいわいである。
17:7 Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
17:8 彼は水のほとりに植えた木のようで、その根を川にのばし、暑さにあっても恐れることはない。その葉は常に青く、ひでりの年にも憂えることなく、絶えず実を結ぶ」。
17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
17:9 心はよろずの物よりも偽るもので、はなはだしく悪に染まっている。だれがこれを、よく知ることができようか。
17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
17:10 「主であるわたしは心を探り、思いを試みる。おのおのに、その道にしたがい、その行いの実によって報いをするためである」。
17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
17:11 しゃこが自分が産んだのではない卵を抱くように、不正な財産を得る者がある。その人は一生の半ばにそれから離れて、その終りには愚かな者となる。
17:11 As the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not; so he that gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
17:12 初めから高くあげられた栄えあるみ座は、われわれの聖所のある所である。
17:12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
17:13 またイスラエルの望みである主よ、あなたを捨てる者はみな恥をかき、あなたを離れる者は土に名をしるされます。それは生ける水の源である主を捨てたからです。
17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
17:14 主よ、わたしをいやしてください、そうすれば、わたしはいえます。わたしをお救いください、そうすれば、わたしは救われます。あなたはわたしのほめたたえる者だからです。
17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise.
17:15 彼らはわたしに言います、「主の言葉はどこにあるのか。今、それを出して見せよ」と。
17:15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
17:16 悪をつかわされるようにとは、わたしはたって求めませんでした。また災の日を願わなかったのを、あなたはごぞんじです。わたしのくちびるから出たことは、み前にあります。
17:16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow you: neither have I desired the woeful day; you know: that which came out of my lips was right before you.
17:17 どうか、わたしを恐れさせないでください。災のときに、あなたはわたしののがれ場です。
17:17 Be not a terror unto me: you are my hope in the day of evil.
17:18 わたしを攻め悩ます者をはずかしめてください。しかしわたしをはずかしめないでください。彼らを恐れさせてください。しかしわたしを恐れさせないでください。災の日を彼らにきたらせ、滅びを倍にして彼らを滅ぼしてください。
17:18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
17:19 主はわたしにこう言われた、「行って、ユダの王たちの出入りするベニヤミンの門、およびエルサレムのすべての門に立って、
17:19 Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
17:20 言いなさい、『これらの門からはいるユダの王たち、およびユダのすべての民とエルサレムに住むすべての者よ、主の言葉を聞きなさい。
17:20 And say unto them, Hear all of you the word of the LORD, all of you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
17:21 主はこう言われる、命が惜しいならば気をつけるがよい。安息日に荷をたずさえ、またはそれを持ってエルサレムの門にはいってはならない。
17:21 Thus says the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
17:22 また安息日にあなたがたの家から荷を運び出してはならない。なんのわざをもしてはならない。わたしがあなたがたの先祖に命じたように安息日を聖別して守りなさい。
17:22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do all of you any work, but hallow all of you the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
17:23 しかし彼らは従わず耳を傾けず、聞くことも、戒めをうけることをも強情に拒んだ。
17:23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
17:24 主は言われる、もしあなたがたがわたしに聞き従い、安息日に荷をたずさえてこの町の門にはいらず、安息日を聖別して、なんのわざをもしないならば、
17:24 And it shall come to pass, if all of you diligently hearken unto me, says the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
17:25 ダビデの位に座する王たち、つかさたち、ユダの人々、エルサレムに住む者は、車と馬に乗ってこの町の門からはいることができる。そしてこの町には長く人が住むようになる。
17:25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
17:26 また人々はユダの町々やエルサレムの周囲、ベニヤミンの地、平地と山地およびネゲブから来て燔祭、犠牲、素祭、乳香、感謝祭をたずさえて主の家にはいる。
17:26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and food offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
17:27 しかし、もしあなたがたがわたしに聞き従わないで、安息日を聖別して守ることをせず、安息日に荷をたずさえてエルサレムの門にはいるならば、わたしは火をその門の中に燃やして、エルサレムのもろもろの宮殿を焼き滅ぼす。その火は消えることがない』」。
17:27 But if all of you will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
18:1 主からエレミヤに臨んだ言葉。
18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
18:2 「立って、陶器師の家に下って行きなさい。その所でわたしはあなたにわたしの言葉を聞かせよう」。
18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear my words.
18:3 わたしは陶器師の家へ下って行った。見ると彼は、ろくろで仕事をしていたが、
18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
18:4 粘土で造っていた器が、その人の手の中で仕損じたので、彼は自分の意のままに、それをもってほかの器を造った。
18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was ruined in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
18:5 その時、主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
18:6 「主は仰せられる、イスラエルの家よ、この陶器師がしたように、わたしもあなたがたにできないのだろうか。イスラエルの家よ、陶器師の手に粘土があるように、あなたがたはわたしの手のうちにある。
18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? says the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are all of you in mine hand, O house of Israel.
18:7 ある時には、わたしが民または国を抜く、破る、滅ぼすということがあるが、
18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
18:8 もしわたしの言った国がその悪を離れるならば、わたしはこれに災を下そうとしたことを思いかえす。
18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
18:9 またある時には、わたしが民または国を建てる、植えるということがあるが、
18:9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
18:10 もしその国がわたしの目に悪と見えることを行い、わたしの声に聞き従わないなら、わたしはこれに幸を与えようとしたことを思いかえす。
18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
18:11 それゆえ、ユダの人々とエルサレムに住む者に言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしはあなたがたに災を下そうと工夫し、あなたがたを攻める計りごとを立てている。あなたがたはおのおのその悪しき道を離れ、その道と行いを改めなさい』と。
18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return all of you now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
18:12 しかし彼らは言う、『それはむだです。われわれは自分の図るところに従い、おのおのその悪い強情な心にしたがって行動します』と。
18:12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
18:13 それゆえ主はこう言われる、異邦の民のうちのある者に尋ねてみよ、このような事を聞いた者があろうか。おとめイスラエルは恐ろしい事をした。
18:13 Therefore thus says the LORD; Ask all of you now among the heathen, who has heard such things: the virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.
18:14 レバノンの雪が、どうしてシリオンの岩を離れようか。山の水、冷たい川の流れが、どうしてかわいてしまおうか。
18:14 Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which comes from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
18:15 それなのにわが民はわたしを忘れて、偽りの神々に香をたいている。彼らはその道、古い道につまずき、また小道に入り、大路からはなれた。
18:15 Because my people has forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a road not properly built;
18:16 自分の地を荒れすたれさせて、いつまでも人に舌打ちされるものとした。そこを通る人はみな身震いして、首を振る。
18:16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passes thereby shall be astonished, and shake his head.
18:17 わたしは東風のように、彼らをその敵の前に散らす。その滅びの日には、わたしは彼らに背を向け、顔を向けない」。
18:17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
18:18 彼らは言った、「さあ、計略をめぐらして、エレミヤを倒そう。祭司には律法があり、知恵ある者には計りごとがあり、預言者には言葉があって、これらのものが滅びてしまうことはない。さあ、われわれは舌をもって彼を撃とう。彼のすべての言葉に、心を留めないことにしよう」。
18:18 Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
18:19 主よ、どうぞわたしにみ心を留め、わたしの訴えをお聞きください。
18:19 Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
18:20 悪をもって善に報いるべきでしょうか。しかもなお彼らはわたしの命を取ろうとして／穴を掘りました。わたしがあなたの前に立って、彼らのことを良く言い、あなたの憤りを止めようとしたのを／覚えてください。
18:20 Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before you to speak good for them, and to turn away your wrath from them.
18:21 それゆえ、彼らの子どもたちをききんに渡し、彼らをつるぎの刃に渡してください。彼らの妻は子を失い、また寡婦となり、男は疫病にかかって死に、若い者は、戦争でつるぎに殺されますように。
18:21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
18:22 あなたが敵をにわかに彼らに臨ませられるとき、彼らの家から叫び声が聞えますように。彼らは穴を掘って、わたしを捕えようとし、わなをつくって、わたしの足を／捕えようとしたからです。
18:22 Let a cry be heard from their houses, when you shall bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have dug a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
18:23 主よ、あなたは彼らがわたしを殺すために／めぐらしている計略を皆ごぞんじです。その悪をゆるすことなく、その罪をあなたの前から消し去らないでください。彼らをあなたの前に倒れさせてください。あなたのお怒りになる時に彼らを罰してください。
18:23 Yet, LORD, you know all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from your sight, but let them be overthrown before you; deal thus with them in the time of yours anger.
19:1 主はこう言われる、「行って、陶器師のびんを買い、民の長老と年長の祭司のうちの数人を伴って、
19:1 Thus says the LORD, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests;
19:2 瀬戸かけの門の入口にあるベンヒンノムの谷へ行き、その所で、わたしがあなたに語る言葉をのべて、
19:2 And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you,
19:3 言いなさい、『ユダの王たち、およびエルサレムに住む者よ、主の言葉を聞きなさい。万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしは災をこの所に下す。おおよそ、その災のことを聞くものの耳は両方とも鳴る。
19:3 And say, Hear all of you the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever hears, his ears shall tingle.
19:4 彼らがわたしを捨て、この所を汚し、この所で、自分も先祖たちもユダの王たちも知らなかった他の神々に香をたき、かつ罪のない者の血を、この所に満たしたからである。
19:4 Because they have forsaken me, and have cut off this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocent persons;
19:5 また彼らはバアルのために高き所を築き、火をもって自分の子どもたちを焼き、燔祭としてバアルにささげた。これはわたしの命じたことではなく、定めたことでもなく、また思いもしなかったことである。
19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind:
19:6 主は言われる、それゆえ、見よ、この所をトペテまたはベンヒンノムの谷と呼ばないで、虐殺の谷と呼ぶ日がくる。
19:6 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.
19:7 またわたしはこの所でユダとエルサレムの計りごとを打ち破り、つるぎをもって、彼らをその敵の前と、そのいのちを求める者の手に倒れさせ、またその死体を空の鳥と地の獣の食い物とし、
19:7 And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcasses will I give to be food for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
19:8 かつ、この町を荒れすたれさせて、人に舌打ちされるものとする。そこを通る人は皆そのもろもろの災を見て身震いし、舌打ちする。
19:8 And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
19:9 また彼らがその敵とその命を求める者とに囲まれて苦しみ悩む時、わたしは彼らに自分のむすこの肉、娘の肉を食べさせる。彼らはまた互にその友の肉を食べるようになる』。
19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and strictness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.
19:10 そこで、あなたは、一緒に行く人々の目の前で、そのびんを砕き、
19:10 Then shall you break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with you,
19:11 そして彼らに言いなさい、『万軍の主はこう仰せられる、陶器師の器をひとたび砕くならば、もはやもとのようにすることはできない。このようにわたしはこの民とこの町とを砕く。人々はほかに葬るべき場所がないために、トペテに葬るであろう。
19:11 And shall say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.
19:12 主は仰せられる、わたしはこの所と、ここに住む者とにこのようにし、この町をトペテのようにする。
19:12 Thus will I do unto this place, says the LORD, and to the inhabitants thereof, and even make this city as Tophet:
19:13 エルサレムの家とユダの王たちの家、すなわち彼らがその屋上で天の衆群に香をたき、ほかの神々に酒を注いだ家は、皆トペテの所のように汚される』」。
19:13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
19:14 エレミヤは主が彼をつかわして預言させられたトペテから帰ってきて、主の家の庭に立ち、すべての民に言った、
19:14 Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD's house; and said to all the people,
19:15 「万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしは、この町とそのすべての村々に、わたしの言ったもろもろの災を下す。彼らが強情で、わたしの言葉に聞き従おうとしないからである」。
19:15 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
20:1 さて祭司インメルの子で、主の宮のつかさの長であったパシュルは、エレミヤがこれらの事を預言するのを聞いた。
20:1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.
20:2 そしてパシュルは預言者エレミヤを打ち、主の宮にある上のベニヤミンの門の足かせにつないだ。
20:2 Then Pashur stroke Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.
20:3 その翌日パシュルがエレミヤを足かせから解き放した時、エレミヤは彼に言った、「主はあなたの名をパシュルとは呼ばないで、『恐れが周囲にある』と呼ばれる。
20:3 And it came to pass on the next day, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD has not called your name Pashur, but Magormissabib.
20:4 主はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしはあなたを、あなた自身とあなたのすべての友だちに恐れを起させる者とする。彼らはあなたが見ている目の前で敵のつるぎに倒れる。わたしはまたユダのすべての民をバビロン王の手に渡す。彼は彼らを捕えてバビロンに移し、つるぎをもって殺す。
20:4 For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself, and to all your friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and yours eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
20:5 わたしはまたこの町のすべての富と、その獲たすべての物と、そのすべての貴重な物と、ユダの王たちのすべての宝物をその敵の手に渡す。彼らはこれをかすめ、民を捕えてバビロンに移す。
20:5 Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
20:6 パシュルよ、あなたと、あなたの家に住む者とはみな捕え移される。あなたはバビロンに行って、その所で死に、その所に葬られる。あなたも、あなたが偽って預言した言葉に聞き従った友もみなそのようになる」。
20:6 And you, Pashur, and all that dwell in yours house shall go into captivity: and you shall come to Babylon, and there you shall die, and shall be buried there, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied lies.
20:7 主よ、あなたがわたしを欺かれたので、わたしはその欺きに従いました。あなたはわたしよりも強いので、わたしを説き伏せられたのです。わたしは一日中、物笑いとなり、人はみなわたしをあざけります。
20:7 O LORD, you have deceived me, and I was deceived; you are stronger than I, and have prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocks me.
20:8 それは、わたしが語り、呼ばわるごとに、「暴虐、滅亡」と叫ぶからです。主の言葉が一日中、わが身のはずかしめと、あざけりになるからです。
20:8 For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
20:9 もしわたしが、「主のことは、重ねて言わない、このうえその名によって語る事はしない」と言えば、主の言葉がわたしの心にあって、燃える火の／わが骨のうちに閉じこめられているようで、それを押えるのに疲れはてて、耐えることができません。
20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
20:10 多くの人のささやくのを聞くからです。恐れが四方にあります。「告発せよ。さあ、彼を告発しよう」と／言って、わが親しい友は皆／わたしのつまずくのを、うかがっています。また、「彼は欺かれるだろう。そのとき、われわれは彼に勝って、あだを返すことができる」と言います。
20:10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Possibly he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
20:11 しかし主は強い勇士の／ようにわたしと共におられる。それゆえ、わたしに迫りくる者はつまずき、わたしに打ち勝つことはできない。彼らは、なし遂げることができなくて、大いに恥をかく。その恥は、いつまでも忘れられることはない。
20:11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
20:12 正しき者を試み、人の心と思いを見られる万軍の主よ、あなたが彼らに、あだを返されるのを見せてください。わたしはあなたに、わたしの訴えを／お任せしたからです。
20:12 But, O LORD of hosts, that try the righteous, and see the reins and the heart, let me see your vengeance on them: for unto you have I opened my cause.
20:13 主に向かって歌い、主をほめたたえよ。主は貧しい者の命を、悪人の手から救われたからである。
20:13 Sing unto the LORD, praise all of you the LORD: for he has delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
20:14 わたしの生れた日はのろわれよ。母がわたしを産んだ日は祝福を受けるな。
20:14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
20:15 わたしの父に「男の子が、生れました」と告げて、彼を大いに喜ばせた人は、のろわれよ。
20:15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A male child is born unto you; making him very glad.
20:16 その人は、主のあわれみを受けることなく、滅ぼされた町のようになれ。朝には、彼に叫びを聞かせ、昼には戦いの声を聞かせよ。
20:16 And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;
20:17 彼がわたしを胎内で殺さず、わが母をわたしの墓場となさず、その胎をいつまでも大きくしなかったからである。
20:17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
20:18 なにゆえにわたしは胎内を出てきて、悩みと悲しみに会い、恥を受けて一生を過ごすのか。
20:18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
21:1 ゼデキヤ王は、マルキヤの子パシュルと祭司マアセヤの子ゼパニヤを、エレミヤのもとにつかわし、
21:1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
21:2 「バビロンの王ネブカデレザルがわれわれを攻めようとしているゆえ、われわれのために主に尋ねてほしい。主はそのもろもろの不思議なわざをもって、われわれを助け、バビロンの王をわれわれから退かせられるかも知れない」と言わせた。その時、主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ。
21:2 Enquire, I pray you, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon makes war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
21:3 エレミヤは彼らに答えて言った、「あなたがたはゼデキヤにこのように言いなさい、
21:3 Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall all of you say to Zedekiah:
21:4 『イスラエルの神、主はこう仰せられる、見よ、あなたがたが、この城壁の外にあって、あなたがたを攻め囲むバビロンの王およびカルデヤびとと戦うとき、わたしはあなたがたの手に持っている武器をとりあげ、これを町の中に集めさせる。
21:4 Thus says the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith all of you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
21:5 わたしは手を伸べ、強い腕をもって、怒り、憤り、激しく怒って、あなたがたを攻める。
21:5 And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
21:6 わたしはまたこの町に住む人と獣とを撃つ。彼らはみな重い疫病にかかって死ぬ。
21:6 And I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
21:7 主は言われる、この後、わたしはユダの王ゼデキヤとその家来たち、および疫病と、つるぎと、ききんを免れて、この町に残っている民を、バビロンの王ネブカデレザルの手と、その敵の手、およびその命を求める者の手に渡す。バビロンの王はつるぎの刃にかけて彼らを撃ち、彼らを惜しまず、顧みず、またあわれむこともしない』。
21:7 And afterward, says the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
21:8 あなたはまたこの民に言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしは命の道と死の道とをあなたがたの前に置く。
21:8 And unto this people you shall say, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
21:9 この町にとどまる者は、つるぎと、ききんと、疫病とで死ぬ。しかし、出て行って、あなたがたを攻め囲んでいるカルデヤびとに降伏する者は死を免れ、その命は自分のぶんどり物となる。
21:9 He that abides in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goes out, and falls to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
21:10 主は言われる、わたしがこの町に顔を向けたのは幸を与えるためではなく、災を与えるためである。この町はバビロンの王の手に渡される。彼は火をもって、これを焼き払う』。
21:10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, says the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
21:11 またユダの王の家に言いなさい、『主の言葉を聞きなさい。
21:11 And concerning the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear all of you the word of the LORD;
21:12 ダビデの家よ、主はこう仰せられる、朝ごとに、正しいさばきを行い、物を奪われた人をしえたげる者の手から救え。そうしないと、あなたがたの悪い行いのために、わたしの怒りは火のように燃えて、それを消すことはできない』」。
21:12 O house of David, thus says the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
21:13 「主は言われる、谷に住む者よ、平原の岩よ、見よ、わたしはあなたに敵する。あなたがたは言う、『だれが下ってきて、われわれを攻めるものか、だれがわれわれのいる所に、はいるものか』と。
21:13 Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, says the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
21:14 わたしはあなたがたを、その行いの実によって罰する。またその林に火をつけて、その周囲のものをみな焼き尽すと、主は言われる」。
21:14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
22:1 主はこう言われる、「ユダの王の家に下り、その所にこの言葉をのべて、
22:1 Thus says the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
22:2 言いなさい、『ダビデの位にすわるユダの王よ、あなたと、あなたの家臣、および、この門からはいるあなたの民は主の言葉を聞きなさい。
22:2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sit upon the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people that enter in by these gates:
22:3 主はこう言われる、公平と正義を行い、物を奪われた人を、しえたげる者の手から救い、異邦の人、孤児、寡婦を悩まし、しえたげてはならない。またこの所に、罪なき者の血を流してはならない。
22:3 Thus says the LORD; Execute all of you judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
22:4 もしあなたがたがこの言葉を真実に行うならば、ダビデの位にすわる王とその家臣、およびその民は、車と馬に乗って、この家の門にはいることができる。
22:4 For if all of you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
22:5 しかしあなたがたがこの言葉を聞かないならば、わたしは自身をさして誓うが、この家は荒れ地となると、主は言われる。
22:5 But if all of you will not hear these words, I swear by myself, says the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
22:6 主はユダの王の家についてこう言われる、あなたはわたしに対してギレアデのようであり、レバノンの頂のようである。しかし、わたしは必ずあなたを荒れ地にし、人の住まない町にする。
22:6 For thus says the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; You are Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make you a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
22:7 わたしは滅ぼす者を設けて、あなたを攻めさせる、彼らはおのおのその武器をとり、あなたの麗しい香柏を切り倒し、火に投げ入れる。
22:7 And I will prepare destroyers against you, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
22:8 多くの国の人はこの町を過ぎ、互に語って、「なぜ主はこの大いなる町をこのようにされたのか」と言うとき、
22:8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore has the LORD done thus unto this great city?
22:9 人は答えて、「これは彼らがその神、主の契約を捨てて他の神々を拝し、これに仕えたからである」と言うであろう』」。
22:9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
22:10 死んだ者のために泣くことなく、またそのために嘆いてはならない。捕え移されてゆく者のために、激しく泣け。彼はふたたび帰ってきて、その故郷を見ることがないからである。
22:10 Weep all of you not for the dead, neither lament for him: but weep sore for him that goes away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
22:11 ユダの王ヨシヤの子シャルムは父ヨシヤについで王となったが、ついにこの所から出て行った。主は彼についてこう言われる、「彼は再びここに帰らない。
22:11 For thus says the LORD concerning Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
22:12 彼はその捕え行かれた所で死に、再びこの地を見ない」。
22:12 But he shall die in the place where they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
22:13 「不義をもってその家を建て、不法をもってその高殿を造り、隣り人を雇って何をも与えず、その賃金を払わない者はわざわいである。
22:13 Woe unto him that builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that uses his neighbour's service without wages, and gives him not for his work;
22:14 彼は言う、『わたしは自分のために大きな家を建て、広い高殿を造ろう』と。そしてこれがために窓を造り、香柏の鏡板でおおい、それを朱で塗る。
22:14 That says, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cuts him out windows; and it is covered over with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
22:15 あなたは競って香柏を用いることによって、王であると思うのか。あなたの父は食い飲みし、公平と正義を行って、幸を得たのではないか。
22:15 Shall you reign, because you close yourself in cedar? did not your father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?
22:16 彼は貧しい人と乏しい人の訴えをただして、さいわいを得た。こうすることがわたしを知ることではないかと／主は言われる。
22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? says the LORD.
22:17 しかし、あなたは目も心も、不正な利益のためにのみ用い、罪なき者の血を流そうとし、圧制と暴虐を行おうとする」。
22:17 But yours eyes and yours heart are not but for your covetousness, and in order to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
22:18 それゆえ、主はユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムについてこう言われる、「人々は『悲しいかな、わが兄』、『悲しいかな、わが姉』と言って、彼のために嘆かない。また『悲しいかな、主君よ』、『悲しいかな、陛下よ』と言って嘆かない。
22:18 Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
22:19 ろばが埋められるように、彼は葬られる。引かれて行って、エルサレムの門の外に投げ捨てられる」。
22:19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
22:20 「レバノンに登って呼ばわり、バシャンにあなたの声をあげ、アバリムから呼ばわれ。あなたの愛する者がみな滅ぼされるからだ。
22:20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all your lovers are destroyed.
22:21 あなたの栄えていた時、わたしはあなたに語ったが『聞きたくはない』と言った。あなたがわたしの声に聞き従わないことは、あなたの幼い時からの、ならわしであった。
22:21 I spoke unto you in your prosperity; but you said, I will not hear. This has been your manner from your youth, that you obeyed not my voice.
22:22 あなたの牧者はみな、風に追い立てられ、あなたの愛する者は捕え移される。その時、あなたは自分のもろもろの悪のために、恥じ、うろたえる。
22:22 The wind shall eat up all your pastors, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shall you be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.
22:23 レバノンに住み、香柏の中に巣をつくっている者よ、子を産む女に臨む苦しみのような苦痛が／あなたに臨むとき、あなたはどんなに嘆くことであろうか」。
22:23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that make your nest in the cedars, how gracious shall you be when pangs come upon you, the pain as of a woman in travail!
22:24 「主は言われる、わたしは生きている。ユダの王エホヤキムの子コニヤが、わたしの右手の指輪であっても、わたしはあなたを抜き取る。
22:24 As I live, says the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck you thence;
22:25 あなたの命を求める者の手、あなたがその顔を恐れる者の手、すなわちバビロンの王ネブカデレザルの手と、カルデヤびとの手にあなたを渡す。
22:25 And I will give you into the hand of them that seek your life, and into the hand of them whose face you fear, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
22:26 わたしは、あなたと、あなたを産んだ母を、あなたがたの生れた国でない他の国に追いやる。あなたがたはそこで死ぬ。
22:26 And I will cast you out, and your mother that bare you, into another country, where all of you were not born; and there shall all of you die.
22:27 彼らが帰りたいとせつに願う国に、彼らは再び帰ることができない」。
22:27 But to the land unto which they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
22:28 この人コニヤは／卑しむべき、こわれたつぼであろうか、だれも心に留めない器であろうか。なぜ彼とその子孫は追いやられて、知らない地に投げやられるのか。
22:28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
22:29 ああ、地よ、地よ、地よ、主の言葉を聞けよ。
22:29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.
22:30 主はこう言われる、「この人を、子なき人として、またその一生のうち、栄えることのない人として記録せよ。その子孫のうち、ひとりも栄えて、ダビデの位にすわり、ユダを治めるものが再び起らないからである」。
22:30 Thus says the LORD, Write all of you this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
23:1 主は言われる、「わが牧場の羊を滅ぼし散らす牧者はわざわいである」。
23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.
23:2 それゆえイスラエルの神、主はわが民を養う牧者についてこう言われる、「あなたがたはわたしの群れを散らし、これを追いやって顧みなかった。見よ、わたしはあなたがたの悪しき行いによってあなたがたに報いると、主は言われる。
23:2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; All of you have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, says the LORD.
23:3 わたしの群れの残った者を、追いやったすべての地から集め、再びこれをそのおりに帰らせよう。彼らは子を産んでその数が多くなる。
23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
23:4 わたしはこれを養う牧者をその上に立てる、彼らは再び恐れることなく、またおののくことなく、いなくなることもないと、主は言われる。
23:4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, says the LORD.
23:5 主は仰せられる、見よ、わたしがダビデのために一つの正しい枝を起す日がくる。彼は王となって世を治め、栄えて、公平と正義を世に行う。
23:5 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
23:6 その日ユダは救を得、イスラエルは安らかにおる。その名は『主はわれわれの正義』ととなえられる。
23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
23:7 主は言われる、それゆえ見よ、人々は『イスラエルの民をエジプトの地から導き出された主は生きておられる』とまた言わないで、
23:7 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD lives, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
23:8 『イスラエルの家の子孫を北の地と、そのすべて追いやられた地から導き出された神は生きておられる』という日がくる。その時、彼らは自分の地に住んでいる」。
23:8 But, The LORD lives, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries where I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
23:9 預言者たちについて。わが心はわたしのうちに破れ、わが骨はみな震う。主とその聖なる言葉のために、わたしは酔っている人のよう、酒に打ち負かされた人のようである。
23:9 Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
23:10 この地に姦淫を行うものが満ちているからだ。のろいによって地は嘆き、荒野の牧場はかわく。彼らの道は悪く、その力は正しくない。
23:10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
23:11 「預言者と祭司とは共に神を汚す者である。わたしの家においてすら／彼らの悪を見たと、主は言われる。
23:11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, says the LORD.
23:12 それゆえ、彼らの道は、おのずから暗黒の中にある／なめらかな道のようになり、彼らは押されてその道に倒れる。わたしが彼らの罰せられる年に、災をその上に臨ませるからであると、主は言われる。
23:12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, says the LORD.
23:13 わたしはサマリヤの預言者のうちに／不快な事のあるのを見た。彼らはバアルによって預言し、わが民イスラエルを惑わした。
23:13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to go astray.
23:14 しかしエルサレムの預言者のうちには、恐ろしい事のあるのを見た。彼らは姦淫を行い、偽りに歩み、悪人の手を強くし、人をその悪から離れさせない。彼らはみなわたしにはソドムのようであり、その民はゴモラのようである」。
23:14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none does return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
23:15 それゆえ万軍の主は預言者についてこう言われる、「見よ、わたしは彼らに、にがよもぎを食べさせ、毒の水を飲ませる。神を汚すことがエルサレムの預言者から出て、全地に及んでいるからである」。
23:15 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
23:16 万軍の主はこう言われる、「あなたがたに預言する預言者の言葉を聞いてはならない。彼らはあなたがたに、むなしい望みをいだかせ、主の口から出たのでない、自分の心の黙示を語るのである。
23:16 Thus says the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
23:17 彼らは主の言葉を軽んじる者に向かって絶えず、『あなたがたは平安を得る』と言い、また自分の強情な心にしたがって歩むすべての人に向かって、『あなたがたに災はこない』と言う」。
23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD has said, All of you shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
23:18 彼らのうちだれか主の議会に立って、その言葉を見聞きした者があろうか。だれか耳を傾けてその言葉を聞いた者があろうか。
23:18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD, and has perceived and heard his word? who has marked his word, and heard it?
23:19 見よ、主の暴風がくる。憤りと、つむじ風が出て、悪人のこうべをうつ。
23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
23:20 主の怒りは、み心に思い定められたことを／なし遂げられるまで退くことはない。末の日にあなたがたはそれを明らかに悟る。
23:20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days all of you shall consider it perfectly.
23:21 預言者たちはわたしがつかわさなかったのに、彼らは走った。わたしが、彼らに告げなかったのに、彼らは預言した。
23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
23:22 もし彼らがわたしの議会に立ったのであれば、わたしの民にわが言葉を告げ示して、その悪い道と悪い行いから、離れさせたであろうに。
23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23:23 「主は言われる、わたしはただ近くの神であって、遠くの神ではないのであるか。
23:23 Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God far off?
23:24 主は言われる、人は、ひそかな所に身を隠して、わたしに見られないようにすることができようか。主は言われる、わたしは天と地とに満ちているではないか。
23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? says the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the LORD.
23:25 わが名によって偽りを預言する預言者たちが、『わたしは夢を見た、わたしは夢を見た』と言うのを聞いた。
23:25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
23:26 偽りを預言する預言者たちの心に、いつまで偽りがあるのであるか。彼らはその心の欺きを預言する。
23:26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
23:27 彼らはその先祖がバアルに従ってわが名を忘れたように、互に夢を語って、わたしの民にわが名を忘れさせようとする。
23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
23:28 夢をみた預言者は夢を語るがよい。しかし、わたしの言葉を受けた者は誠実にわたしの言葉を語らなければならない。わらと麦とをくらべることができようかと、主は言われる。
23:28 The prophet that has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? says the LORD.
23:29 主は仰せられる、わたしの言葉は火のようではないか。また岩を打ち砕く鎚のようではないか。
23:29 Is not my word like a fire? says the LORD; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
23:30 それゆえ見よ、わたしはわたしの言葉を互に盗む預言者の敵となると、主は言われる。
23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
23:31 見よ、わたしは、『主は言いたもう』と舌をもって語る預言者の敵となると、主は言われる。
23:31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He says.
23:32 主は仰せられる、見よ、わたしは偽りの夢を預言する者の敵となる。彼らはそれを語り、またその偽りと大言をもってわたしの民を惑わす。わたしが彼らをつかわしたのではなく、また彼らに命じたのでもない。それで彼らはこの民にすこしも益にならないと、主は言われる。
23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, says the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to go astray by their lies, and by their levity; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, says the LORD.
23:33 この民のひとり、または預言者、または祭司があなたに、『主の重荷はなんですか』と問うならば、彼らに答えなさい、『あなたがたがその重荷です。そして主は、あなたがたを捨てると言っておられます』と。
23:33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask you, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? you shall then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, says the LORD.
23:34 そして、『主の重荷』と言うその預言者、祭司、または民のひとりを、その家族と共にわたしは罰する。
23:34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
23:35 あなたがたは、みな互に、隣り人に、また兄弟に、こう言わなければならない、『主はなんと答えられましたか』、『主はなんと言われましたか』と。
23:35 Thus shall all of you say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?
23:36 しかし重ねて『主の重荷』と言ってはならない。重荷は人おのおのの自分の言葉だからである。あなたがたは生ける神、万軍の主なるわれわれの神の言葉を曲げる者である。
23:36 And the burden of the LORD shall all of you mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for all of you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
23:37 あなたは預言者にこう言わなければならない、『主はあなたになんと答えられましたか』、『主はなんと言われましたか』と。
23:37 Thus shall you say to the prophet, What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?
23:38 もしあなたがたが『主の重荷』と言うならば、主はこう仰せられる、『わたしが人をあなたがたにつかわして、あなたがたは「主の重荷」と言ってはならないと言わせたのに、あなたがたは「主の重荷」という言葉を言ったので、
23:38 But since all of you say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus says the LORD; Because all of you say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, All of you shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
23:39 わたしは必ずあなたがたを捕え移させ、あなたがたとあなたがたの先祖とに与えたこの町と、あなたがたとを、わたしの前から捨て去る。
23:39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
23:40 そして、忘れられることのない永遠のはずかしめと永遠の恥を、あなたがたにこうむらせる』」。
23:40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
24:1 バビロンの王ネブカデレザルがユダの王エホヤキムの子エコニヤおよびユダの君たちと工匠と鍛冶をエルサレムからバビロンに移して後、主はわたしにこの幻をお示しになった。見よ、主の宮の前に置かれているいちじくを盛った二つのかごがあった。
24:1 The LORD showed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
24:2 その一つのかごには、はじめて熟したような非常に良いいちじくがあり、ほかのかごには非常に悪くて食べられないほどの悪いいちじくが入れてあった。
24:2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
24:3 主はわたしに、「エレミヤよ、何を見るか」と言われた。わたしは、「いちじくです。その良いいちじくは非常によく、悪いほうのいちじくは非常に悪くて、食べられません」と答えた。
24:3 Then said the LORD unto me, What see you, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
24:4 主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、
24:4 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24:5 「イスラエルの神、主はこう仰せられる、この所からカルデヤびとの地に追いやったユダの捕われ人を、わたしはこの良いいちじくのように顧みて恵もう。
24:5 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
24:6 わたしは彼らに目をかけてこれを恵み、彼らをこの地に返し、彼らを建てて倒さず、植えて抜かない。
24:6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
24:7 わたしは彼らにわたしが主であることを知る心を与えよう。彼らはわたしの民となり、わたしは彼らの神となる。彼らは一心にわたしのもとに帰ってくる。
24:7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
24:8 主はこう仰せられる、わたしはユダの王ゼデキヤとそのつかさたち、およびエルサレムの人の残ってこの地にいる者、ならびにエジプトの地に住んでいる者を、この悪くて食べられない悪いいちじくのようにしよう。
24:8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus says the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
24:9 わたしは彼らを地のもろもろの国で、忌みきらわれるものとし、またわたしの追いやるすべての所で、はずかしめに会わせ、ことわざとなり、あざけりと、のろいに会わせる。
24:9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.
24:10 わたしはつるぎと、ききんと、疫病を彼らのうちに送って、ついに彼らをわたしが彼らとその先祖とに与えた地から絶えさせる」。
24:10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
25:1 ユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムの四年（バビロンの王ネブカデレザルの元年）にユダのすべての民についての言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ。
25:1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
25:2 預言者エレミヤはこの言葉をユダのすべての民とエルサレムに住むすべての人に告げて言った、
25:2 The which Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
25:3 「ユダの王アモンの子ヨシヤの十三年から今日にいたるまで二十三年の間、主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。わたしはたゆまずにそれをあなたがたに語ってきたが、あなたがたは聞かなかった。
25:3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD has come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but all of you have not hearkened.
25:4 主はたゆまず、そのしもべである預言者を、あなたがたにつかわされたが、あなたがたは聞かずまた耳を傾けて聞こうともしなかった。
25:4 And the LORD has sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but all of you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
25:5 彼らは言った、『あなたがたはおのおの今その悪の道と悪い行いを捨てなさい。そうすれば主が昔からあなたがたと先祖たちとに与えられた地に永遠に住むことができる。
25:5 They said, Turn all of you again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
25:6 あなたがたは、ほかの神に従って、それに仕え、それを拝んではならない。あなたがたの手で作ったものをもって、わたしを怒らせてはならない。このようなことをしないなら、わたしはあなたがたをそこなうことはない』と。
25:6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
25:7 しかしあなたがたはわたしに聞き従わず、あなたがたの手で作った物をもって、わたしを怒らせて自ら害を招いたと、主は言われる。
25:7 Yet all of you have not hearkened unto me, says the LORD; that all of you might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
25:8 それゆえ万軍の主はこう仰せられる、あなたがたがわたしの言葉に聞き従わないゆえ、
25:8 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; Because all of you have not heard my words,
25:9 見よ、わたしは北の方のすべての種族と、わたしのしもべであるバビロンの王ネブカデレザルを呼び寄せて、この地とその民と、そのまわりの国々を攻め滅ぼさせ、これを忌みきらわれるものとし、人の笑いものとし、永遠のはずかしめとすると、主は言われる。
25:9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
25:10 またわたしは喜びの声、楽しみの声、花婿の声、花嫁の声、ひきうすの音、ともしびの光を彼らの中に絶えさせる。
25:10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of delight, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
25:11 この地はみな滅ぼされて荒れ地となる。そしてその国々は七十年の間バビロンの王に仕える。
25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
25:12 主は言われる、七十年の終った後に、わたしはバビロンの王と、その民と、カルデヤびとの地を、その罪のために罰し、永遠の荒れ地とする。
25:12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
25:13 わたしはあの地について、わたしが語ったすべての言葉をその上に臨ませる。これはエレミヤが、万国のことについて預言したものであって、みなこの書にしるされている。
25:13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
25:14 多くの国々と偉大な王たちとは、彼らをさえ奴隷として仕えさせる。わたしは彼らの行いと、その手のわざに従って報いる」。
25:14 For many nations and great kings shall make use of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
25:15 イスラエルの神、主はわたしにこう仰せられた、「わたしの手から、この怒りの杯を受けて、わたしがあなたをつかわす国々の民に飲ませなさい。
25:15 For thus says the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.
25:16 彼らは飲んで、よろめき狂う。これはわたしが彼らのうちに、つるぎをつかわそうとしているからである」。
25:16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
25:17 こうしてわたしは主の手から杯を受け、主がわたしをつかわされた国々の民に飲ませた。
25:17 Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
25:18 すなわちエルサレムとユダのすべての町と、その王たちおよびそのつかさたちに飲ませて、それらを滅ぼし、荒れ地とし、人の笑いものとし、のろわれるものとした。今日のとおりである。
25:18 To know, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
25:19 またエジプトの王パロとその家来たち、その君たち、そのすべての民と、
25:19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
25:20 もろもろの寄留の異邦人、およびウズの地のすべての王たち、およびペリシテびとの地のすべての王たち、（アシケロン、ガザ、エクロン、アシドドの残りの者）、
25:20 And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
25:21 エドム、モアブ、アンモンの子孫、
25:21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
25:22 ツロのすべての王たち、シドンのすべての王たち、海のかなたの海沿いの地の王たち、
25:22 And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
25:23 デダン、テマ、ブズおよびすべて髪の毛のすみずみをそる者、
25:23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
25:24 アラビヤのすべての王たち、荒野の雑種の民のすべての王たち、
25:24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
25:25 ジムリのすべての王たち、エラムのすべての王たち、メデアのすべての王たち、
25:25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
25:26 北のすべての王たちの遠き者、近き者もつぎつぎに、またすべて地のおもてにある世の国々の王たちもこの杯を飲む。そして彼らの次にバビロンの王もこれを飲む。
25:26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
25:27 「それであなたは彼らに言いなさい、『万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、飲め、酔って吐け、倒れて再び立つな、わたしがあなたがたのうちに、つるぎをつかわすからである』」。
25:27 Therefore you shall say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink all of you, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
25:28 「もし彼らがあなたの手から杯を受けて飲むことをしないならば、あなたは彼らに言いなさい、『万軍の主はこう仰せられる、あなたがたは必ず飲まなければならない。
25:28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at yours hand to drink, then shall you say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; All of you shall certainly drink.
25:29 見よ、わたしの名をもって呼ばれるこの町にさえ災を下すのだ。どうしてあなたがたが罰を免れることができようか。あなたがたは罰を免れることはできない。わたしがつるぎを呼び寄せて、地に住むすべての者を攻めるからであると、万軍の主は仰せられる』。
25:29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should all of you be utterly unpunished? All of you shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, says the LORD of hosts.
25:30 それゆえ、あなたは彼らにこのすべての言葉を預言して言いなさい、『主は高い所から呼ばわり、その聖なるすまいから声を出し、自分のすみかに向かって大いに呼ばわり、地に住むすべての者に向かって／ぶどうを踏む者のように叫ばれる。
25:30 Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
25:31 叫びは地の果にまで響きわたる。主が国々と争い、すべての肉なる者をさばき、悪人をつるぎに渡すからであると、主は言われる』。
25:31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, says the LORD.
25:32 万軍の主はこう仰せられる、見よ、国から国へ災が出て行く。大きなあらしが地の果からおこる。
25:32 Thus says the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
25:33 その日、主に殺される人々は、地のこの果から、かの果に及ぶ。彼らは悲しまれず、集められず、また葬られずに、地のおもてに糞土となる。
25:33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
25:34 牧者よ、嘆き叫べ、群れのかしらたちよ、灰の中にまろべ。あなたがたのほふられる日、散らされる日が来たからだ。あなたがたは選び分けられた雄羊のように倒れる。
25:34 Wail, all of you shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, all of you principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and all of you shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
25:35 牧者には、のがれ場なく、群れのかしらたちは逃げる所がない。
25:35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
25:36 牧者の叫び声と、群れのかしらたちの嘆きの声が聞える。主が彼らの牧場を滅ぼしておられるからだ。
25:36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD has spoiled their pasture.
25:37 主の激しい怒りによって、平和な牧場は荒れていく。
25:37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
25:38 ししのように彼はその巣を出た。主のつるぎと、その激しい怒りによって、彼らの地は荒れ地となった」。
25:38 He has forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
26:1 ユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムが世を治めた初めのころ、主からこの言葉があった、
26:1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,
26:2 「主はこう仰せられる、主の宮の庭に立ち、わたしがあなたに命じて言わせるすべての言葉を、主の宮で礼拝するために来ているユダの町々の人々に告げなさい。ひと言をも言い残しておいてはならない。
26:2 Thus says the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command you to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
26:3 彼らが聞いて、おのおのその悪い道を離れることがあるかも知れない。そのとき、わたしは彼らの行いの悪いために、災を彼らに下そうとしたのを思いなおす。
26:3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
26:4 あなたは彼らに言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、もしあなたがたがわたしに聞き従わず、わたしがあなたがたの前に定めおいた律法を行わず、
26:4 And you shall say unto them, Thus says the LORD; If all of you will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
26:5 わたしがあなたがたに、しきりにつかわすわたしのしもべである預言者の言葉に聞き従わないならば、（あなたがたは聞き従わなかったが、）
26:5 To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but all of you have not hearkened;
26:6 わたしはこの宮をシロのようにし、またこの町を地の万国にのろわれるものとする』」。
26:6 Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
26:7 祭司と預言者およびすべての民は、エレミヤが主の宮でこれらの言葉を語るのを聞いた。
26:7 So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
26:8 エレミヤが主に命じられたすべての言葉を民に告げ終った時、祭司と預言者および民はみな彼を捕えて言った、「あなたは死ななければならない。
26:8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, You shall surely die.
26:9 なぜあなたは主の名によって預言し、この宮はシロのようになり、この町は荒されて住む人もなくなるであろうと言ったのか」と。民はみな主の宮に集まってエレミヤを取り囲んだ。
26:9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
26:10 ユダのつかさたちはこの事を聞いて王の宮殿を出て主の宮に上り、主の宮の「新しい門」の入口に座した。
26:10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house.
26:11 祭司と預言者らは、つかさたちとすべての民に訴えて言った、「この人は死刑に処すべき者です。あなたがたが自分の耳で聞かれたように、この町に逆らう預言をしたのです」。
26:11 Then spoke the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he has prophesied against this city, as all of you have heard with your ears.
26:12 その時エレミヤは、つかさたちとすべての民に言った、「主はわたしをつかわし、この宮とこの町にむかって、預言をさせられたので、そのすべての言葉をあなたがたは聞いた。
26:12 Then spoke Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that all of you have heard.
26:13 それで、あなたがたは今、あなたがたの道と行いを改め、あなたがたの神、主の声に聞き従いなさい。そうするならば主はあなたがたに災を下そうとしたことを思いなおされる。
26:13 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he has pronounced against you.
26:14 見よ、わたしはあなたがたの手の中にある。あなたがたの目に、良いと見え、正しいと思うことをわたしに行うがよい。
26:14 As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seems good and meet unto you.
26:15 ただ明らかにこのことを知っておきなさい。もしあなたがたがわたしを殺すならば、罪なき者の血はあなたがたの身と、この町と、その住民とに帰する。まことに主がわたしをつかわして、このすべての言葉をあなたがたの耳に、告げさせられたからである」。
26:15 But know all of you for certain, that if all of you put me to death, all of you shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for truthfully the LORD has sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
26:16 つかさたちと、すべての民とは、祭司と預言者に言った、「この人は死刑に処すべき者ではない。われわれの神、主の名によってわれわれに語ったのである」。
26:16 Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
26:17 その時この地の長老たち数人が立って、そこに集まっているすべての者に告げて言った、
26:17 Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,
26:18 「ユダの王ヒゼキヤの世に、モレシテびとミカはユダのすべての民に預言して言った、『万軍の主はこう仰せられる、シオンは畑のように耕され、エルサレムは石塚となり、宮の山は木のおい茂る高い所となる』。
26:18 Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
26:19 ユダの王ヒゼキヤと、すべてのユダの人は彼を殺そうとしたことがあろうか。ヒゼキヤは主を恐れ、主の恵みを求めたので、主は彼らに災を下すとお告げになったのを思いなおされたではないか。しかし、われわれは、自分の身に大きな災を招こうとしている」。
26:19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
26:20 主の名によって預言した人がほかにもあった。すなわちキリアテ・ヤリムのシマヤの子ウリヤである。彼はエレミヤとおなじような言葉をもって、この町とこの地にむかって預言した。
26:20 And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
26:21 エホヤキム王と、そのすべての勇士と、すべてのつかさたちはその言葉を聞いた。そして王は彼を殺そうと思ったが、ウリヤはこれを聞いて恐れ、エジプトに逃げて行ったので、
26:21 And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;
26:22 エホヤキム王は人をエジプトにつかわした。すなわちアクボルの子エルナタンと他の数名の人を、エジプトにつかわした。
26:22 And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
26:23 彼らはウリヤをエジプトから引き出し、エホヤキム王のもとに連れてきたので、王はつるぎをもって彼を殺し、その死体を共同墓地に捨てさせた。
26:23 And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
26:24 しかしシャパンの子アヒカムはエレミヤを助け、民の手に渡されて殺されることのないようにした。
26:24 Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
