1:1 PRINCIPIO del evangelio de Jesucristo, Hijo de Dios.
1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
1:2 Como está escrito en Isaías el profeta: He aquí yo envío á mi mensajero delante de tu faz, Que apareje tu camino delante de ti.
1:2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.
1:3 Voz del que clama en el desierto: Aparejad el camino del Señor; Enderezad sus veredas.
1:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
1:4 Bautizaba Juan en el desierto, y predicaba el bautismo del arrepentimiento para remisión de pecados.
1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
1:5 Y salía á él toda la provincia de Judea, y los de Jerusalem; y eran todos, bautizados por él en el río de Jordán, confesando sus pecados.
1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
1:6 Y Juan andaba vestido de pelos de camello, y con un cinto de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y comía langostas y miel silvestre.
1:6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
1:7 Y predicaba, diciendo: Viene tras mí el que es más poderoso que yo, al cual no soy digno de desatar encorvado la correa de sus zapatos.
1:7 And preached, saying, There comes one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
1:8 Yo á la verdad os he bautizado con agua; mas él os bautizará con Espíritu Santo.
1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma)
1:9 Y aconteció en aquellos días, que Jesús vino de Nazaret de Galilea, y fué bautizado por Juan en el Jordán.
1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
1:10 Y luego, subiendo del agua, vió abrirse los cielos, y al Espíritu como paloma, que descendía sobre él.
1:10 And immediately coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit (o. pneuma) like a dove descending upon him:
1:11 Y hubo una voz de los cielos que decía: Tú eres mi Hijo amado; en ti tomo contentamiento.
1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
1:12 Y luego el Espíritu le impele al desierto.
1:12 And immediately the spirit (o. pneuma) drives him into the wilderness.
1:13 Y estuvo allí en el desierto cuarenta días, y era tentado de Satanás; y estaba con las fieras; y los ángeles le servían.
1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
1:14 Mas después que Juan fué encarcelado, Jesús vino á Galilea predicando el evangelio del reino de Dios,
1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
1:15 Y diciendo: El tiempo es cumplido, y el reino de Dios está cerca: arrepentíos, y creed al evangelio.
1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent all of you, and believe the gospel.
1:16 Y pasando junto á la mar de Galilea, vió á Simón, y á Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en la mar; porque eran pescadores.
1:16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
1:17 Y les dijo Jesús: Venid en pos de mí, y haré que seáis pescadores de hombres.
1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come all of you after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
1:18 Y luego, dejadas sus redes, le siguieron.
1:18 And immediately they forsook their nets, and followed him.
1:19 Y pasando de allí un poco más adelante, vió á Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y á Juan su hermano, también ellos en el navío, que aderezaban las redes.
1:19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
1:20 Y luego los llamó: y dejando á su padre Zebedeo en el barco con los jornaleros, fueron en pos de él.
1:20 And immediately he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
1:21 Y entraron en Capernaum; y luego los sábados, entrando en la sinagoga, enseñaba.
1:21 And they went into Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
1:22 Y se admiraban de su doctrina; porque les enseñaba como quien tiene potestad, y no como los escribas.
1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
1:23 Y había en la sinagoga de ellos un hombre con espíritu inmundo, el cual dió voces,
1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; (o. pneuma) and he cried out,
1:24 Diciendo: ¡Ah! ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús Nazareno? ¿Has venido á destruirnos? Sé quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, the Holy One of God.
1:25 Y Jesús le riñó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él.
1:25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him.
1:26 Y el espíritu inmundo, haciéndole pedazos, y clamando á gran voz, salió de él.
1:26 And when the unclean spirit (o. pneuma) had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
1:27 Y todos se maravillaron, de tal manera que inquirían entre sí, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta, que con potestad aun á los espíritus inmundos manda, y le obedecen?
1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commands he even the unclean spirits, (o. pneuma) and they do obey him.
1:28 Y vino luego su fama por toda la provincia alrededor de Galilea.
1:28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
1:29 Y luego saliendo de la sinagoga, vinieron á casa de Simón y de Andrés, con Jacobo y Juan.
1:29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
1:30 Y la suegra de Simón estaba acostada con calentura; y le hablaron luego de ella.
1:30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and soon they tell him of her.
1:31 Entonces llegando él, la tomó de su mano y la levantó; y luego la dejó la calentura, y les servía.
1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
1:32 Y cuando fué la tarde, luego que el sol se puso, traían á él todos los que tenían mal, y endemoniados;
1:32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
1:33 Y toda la ciudad se juntó á la puerta.
1:33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
1:34 Y sanó á muchos que estaban enfermos de diversas enfermedades, y echó fuera muchos demonios; y no dejaba decir á los demonios que le conocían.
1:34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
1:35 Y levantándose muy de mañana, aun muy de noche, salió y se fué á un lugar desierto, y allí oraba.
1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
1:36 Y le siguió Simón, y los que estaban con él;
1:36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
1:37 Y hallándole, le dicen: Todos te buscan.
1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for you.
1:38 Y les dice: Vamos á los lugares vecinos, para que predique también allí; porque para esto he venido.
1:38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
1:39 Y predicaba en las sinagogas de ellos en toda Galilea, y echaba fuera los demonios.
1:39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
1:40 Y un leproso vino á él, rogándole; é hincada la rodilla, le dice: Si quieres, puedes limpiarme.
1:40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If you will, you can make me clean.
1:41 Y Jesús, teniendo misericordia de él, extendió su mano, y le tocó, y le dice: Quiero, sé limpio.
1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and says unto him, I will; be you clean.
1:42 Y así que hubo él hablado, la lepra se fué luego de aquél, y fué limpio.
1:42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
1:43 Entonces le apercibió, y despidióle luego,
1:43 And he strictly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
1:44 Y le dice: Mira, no digas á nadie nada; sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu limpieza lo que Moisés mandó, para testimonio á ellos.
1:44 And says unto him, See you say nothing to any man: but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
1:45 Mas él salido, comenzó á publicarlo mucho, y á divulgar el hecho, de manera que ya Jesús no podía entrar manifiestamente en la ciudad, sino que estaba fuera en los lugares desiertos; y venían á él de todas partes.
1:45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, (o. logos) insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

2:1 Y ENTRO otra vez en Capernaum después de algunos días, y se oyó que estaba en casa.
2:1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2:2 Y luego se juntaron á él muchos, que ya no cabían ni aun á la puerta; y les predicaba la palabra.
2:2 And immediately many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word (o. logos) unto them.
2:3 Entonces vinieron á él unos trayendo un paralítico, que era traído por cuatro.
2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
2:4 Y como no podían llegar á él á causa del gentío, descubrieron el techo de donde estaba, y haciendo abertura, bajaron el lecho en que yacía el paralítico.
2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
2:5 Y viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dice al paralítico: Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados.
2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, your sins be forgiven you.
2:6 Y estaban allí sentados algunos de los escribas, los cuales pensando en sus corazones,
2:6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
2:7 Decían: ¿Por qué habla éste así? Blasfemias dice. ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino solo Dios?
2:7 Why does this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
2:8 Y conociendo luego Jesús en su espíritu que pensaban así dentro de sí mismos, les dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis estas cosas en vuestros corazones?
2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit (o. pneuma) that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason all of you these things in your hearts?
2:9 ¿Qué es más fácil, decir al paralítico: Tus pecados te son perdonados, ó decirle: Levántate, y toma tu lecho y anda?
2:9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?
2:10 Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del hombre tiene potestad en la tierra de perdonar los pecados, (dice al paralítico):
2:10 But that all of you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he says to the sick of the palsy,)
2:11 A ti te digo: Levántate, y toma tu lecho, y vete á tu casa.
2:11 I say unto you, Arise, and take up your bed, and go your way into yours house.
2:12 Entonces él se levantó luego, y tomando su lecho, se salió delante de todos, de manera que todos se asombraron, y glorificaron á Dios, diciendo: Nunca tal hemos visto.
2:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
2:13 Y volvió á salir á la mar, y toda la gente venía á él, y los enseñaba.
2:13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
2:14 Y pasando, vió á Leví, hijo de Alfeo, sentado al banco de los públicos tributos, y le dice: Sígueme. Y levantándose le siguió.
2:14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
2:15 Y aconteció que estando Jesús á la mesa en casa de él, muchos publicanos y pecadores estaban también á la mesa juntamente con Jesús y con sus discípulos: porque había muchos, y le habían seguido.
2:15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at food in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
2:16 Y los escribas y los Fariseos, viéndole comer con los publicanos y con los pecadores, dijeron á sus discípulos: ¿Qué es esto, que él come y bebe con los publicanos y con los pecadores?
2:16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?
2:17 Y oyéndolo Jesús, les dice: Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, mas los que tienen mal. No he venido á llamar á los justos, sino á los pecadores.
2:17 When Jesus heard it, he says unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
2:18 Y los discípulos de Juan, y de los Fariseos ayunaban; y vienen, y le dicen: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los de los Fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no ayunan?
2:18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples fast not?
2:19 Y Jesús les dice: ¿Pueden ayunar los que están de bodas, cuando el esposo está con ellos? Entre tanto que tienen consigo al esposo no pueden ayunar.
2:19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
2:20 Mas vendrán días, cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces en aquellos días ayunarán.
2:20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
2:21 Nadie echa remiendo de paño recio en vestido viejo; de otra manera el mismo remiendo nuevo tira del viejo, y la rotura se hace peor.
2:21 No man also sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up takes away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
2:22 Ni nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, el vino nuevo rompe los odres, y se derrama el vino, y los odres se pierden; mas el vino nuevo en odres nuevos se ha de echar.
2:22 And no man puts new wine into old bottles: else the new wine does burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be ruined: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
2:23 Y aconteció que pasando él por los sembrados en sábado, sus discípulos andando comenzaron á arrancar espigas.
2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
2:24 Entonces los Fariseos le dijeron: He aquí, ¿por qué hacen en sábado lo que no es lícito?
2:24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
2:25 Y él les dijo: ¿Nunca leísteis qué hizo David cuando tuvo necesidad, y tuvo hambre, él y los que con él estaban:
2:25 And he said unto them, Have all of you never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungered, he, and they that were with him?
2:26 Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, siendo Abiathar sumo pontífice, y comió los panes de la proposición, de los cuales no es lícito comer sino á los sacerdotes, y aun dió á los que con él estaban?
2:26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
2:27 También les dijo: El sábado por causa del hombre es hecho; no el hombre por causa del sábado.
2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
2:28 Así que el Hijo del hombre es Señor aun del sábado.
2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

3:1 Y OTRA vez entró en la sinagoga; y había allí un hombre que tenía una mano seca.
3:1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
3:2 Y le acechaban si en sábado le sanaría, para acusarle.
3:2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3:3 Entonces dijo al hombre que tenía la mano seca: Levántate en medio.
3:3 And he says unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
3:4 Y les dice: ¿Es lícito hacer bien en sábado, ó hacer mal? ¿salvar la vida, ó quitarla? Mas ellos callaban.
3:4 And he says unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
3:5 Y mirándolos alrededor con enojo, condoleciéndose de la ceguedad de su corazón, dice al hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y la extendió, y su mano fué restituída sana.
3:5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he says unto the man, Stretch forth yours hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
3:6 Entonces saliendo los Fariseos, tomaron consejo con los Herodianos contra él, para matarle.
3:6 And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
3:7 Mas Jesús se apartó á la mar con sus discípulos: y le siguió gran multitud de Galilea, y de Judea.
3:7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
3:8 Y de Jerusalem, y de Idumea, y de la otra parte del Jordán. Y los de alrededor de Tiro y de Sidón, grande multitud, oyendo cuán grandes cosas hacía, vinieron á él.
3:8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
3:9 Y dijo á sus discípulos que le estuviese siempre apercibida la barquilla, por causa del gentío, para que no le oprimiesen.
3:9 And he spoke to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should crowd upon him.
3:10 Porque había sanado á muchos; de manera que caían sobre él cuantos tenían plagas, por tocarle.
3:10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him in order to touch him, as many as had plagues.
3:11 Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios.
3:11 And unclean spirits, (o. pneuma) when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, You are the Son of God.
3:12 Mas él les reñía mucho que no le manifestasen.
3:12 And he strictly charged them that they should not make him known.
3:13 Y subió al monte, y llamó á sí á los que él quiso; y vinieron á él.
3:13 And he goes up into a mountain, and calls unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
3:14 Y estableció doce, para que estuviesen con él, y para enviarlos á predicar.
3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
3:15 Y que tuviesen potestad de sanar enfermedades, y de echar fuera demonios:
3:15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
3:16 A Simón, al cual puso por nombre Pedro;
3:16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;
3:17 Y á Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y á Juan hermano de Jacobo; y les apellidó Boanerges, que es, Hijos del trueno;
3:17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
3:18 Y á Andrés, y á Felipe, y á Bartolomé, y á Mateo, y á Tomas, y á Jacobo hijo de Alfeo, y á Tadeo, y á Simón el Cananita,
3:18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
3:19 Y á Judas Iscariote, el que le entregó. Y vinieron á casa.
3:19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
3:20 Y agolpóse de nuevo la gente, de modo que ellos ni aun podían comer pan.
3:20 And the multitude comes together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
3:21 Y como lo oyeron los suyos, vinieron para prenderle: porque decían: Está fuera de sí.
3:21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.
3:22 Y los escribas que habían venido de Jerusalem, decían que tenía á Beelzebub, y que por el príncipe de los demonios echaba fuera los demonios.
3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casts he out devils.
3:23 Y habiéndolos llamado, les decía en parábolas: ¿Cómo puede Satanás echar fuera á Satanás?
3:23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
3:24 Y si algún reino contra sí mismo fuere dividido, no puede permanecer el tal reino.
3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
3:25 Y si alguna casa fuere dividida contra sí misma, no puede permanecer la tal casa.
3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
3:26 Y si Satanás se levantare contra sí mismo, y fuere dividido, no puede permanecer; antes tiene fin.
3:26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
3:27 Nadie puede saquear las alhajas del valiente entrando en su casa, si antes no atare al valiente y entonces saqueará su casa.
3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
3:28 De cierto os digo que todos los pecados serán perdonados á los hijos de los hombres, y las blasfemias cualesquiera con que blasfemaren;
3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith whatsoever they shall blaspheme:
3:29 Mas cualquiera que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no tiene jamás perdón, mas está expuesto á eterno juicio.
3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) has never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
3:30 Porque decían: Tiene espíritu inmundo.
3:30 Because they said, He has an unclean spirit. (o. pneuma)
3:31 Vienen después sus hermanos y su madre, y estando fuera, enviaron á él llamándole.
3:31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
3:32 Y la gente estaba sentada alrededor de él, y le dijeron: He aquí, tu madre y tus hermanos te buscan fuera.
3:32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brethren without seek for you.
3:33 Y él les respondió, diciendo: ¿Quién es mi madre y mis hermanos?
3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
3:34 Y mirando á los que estaban sentados alrededor de él, dijo: He aquí mi madre y hermanos.
3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
3:35 Porque cualquiera que hiciere la voluntad de Dios, éste es mi hermano, y mi hermana, y mi madre.
3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

4:1 Y OTRA vez comenzó á enseñar junto á la mar, y se juntó á él mucha gente; tanto, que entrándose él en un barco, se sentó en la mar: y toda la gente estaba en tierra junto á la mar.
4:1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
4:2 Y les enseñaba por parábolas muchas cosas, y les decía en su doctrina:
4:2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
4:3 Oid: He aquí, el sembrador salió á sembrar.
4:3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4:4 Y aconteció sembrando, que una parte cayó junto al camino; y vinieron las aves del cielo, y la tragaron.
4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
4:5 Y otra parte cayó en pedregales, donde no tenía mucha tierra; y luego salió, porque no tenía la tierra profunda:
4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
4:6 Mas salido el sol, se quemó; y por cuanto no tenía raíz, se secó.
4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
4:7 Y otra parte cayó en espinas; y subieron las espinas, y la ahogaron, y no dió fruto.
4:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
4:8 Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y dió fruto, que subió y creció: y llevó uno á treinta, y otro á sesenta, y otro á ciento.
4:8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
4:9 Entonces les dijo: El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
4:9 And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
4:10 Y cuando estuvo solo, le preguntaron los que estaban cerca de él con los doce, sobre la parábola.
4:10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
4:11 Y les dijo: A vosotros es dado saber el misterio del reino de Dios; mas á los que están fuera, por parábolas todas las cosas;
4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
4:12 Para que viendo, vean y no echen de ver; y oyendo, oigan y no entiendan: porque no se conviertan, y les sean perdonados los pecados.
4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
4:13 Y les dijo: ¿No sabéis esta parábola? ¿Cómo, pues, entenderéis todas las parábolas?
4:13 And he said unto them, Know all of you not this parable? and how then will all of you know all parables?
4:14 El que siembra es el que siembra la palabra.
4:14 The sower sows the word. (o. logos)
4:15 Y éstos son los de junto al camino: en los que la palabra es sembrada: mas después que la oyeron, luego viene Satanás, y quita la palabra que fué sembrada en sus corazones.
4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word (o. logos) is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word (o. logos) that was sown in their hearts.
4:16 Y asimismo éstos son los que son sembrados en pedregales: los que cuando han oído la palabra, luego la toman con gozo;
4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, (o. logos) immediately receive it with gladness;
4:17 Mas no tienen raíz en sí, antes son temporales, que en levantándose la tribulación ó la persecución por causa de la palabra, luego se escandalizan.
4:17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, (o. logos) immediately they are offended.
4:18 Y éstos son los que son sembrados entre espinas: los que oyen la palabra;
4:18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, (o. logos)
4:19 Mas los cuidados de este siglo, y el engaño de las riquezas, y las codicias que hay en las otras cosas, entrando, ahogan la palabra, y se hace infructuosa.
4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, (o. logos) and it becomes unfruitful.
4:20 Y éstos son los que fueron sembrados en buena tierra: los que oyen la palabra, y la reciben, y hacen fruto, uno á treinta, otro á sesenta, y otro á ciento.
4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, (o. logos) and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
4:21 También les dijo: ¿Tráese la antorcha para ser puesta debajo del almud, ó debajo de la cama? ¿No es para ser puesta en el candelero?
4:21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
4:22 Porque no hay nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado, ni secreto que no haya de descubrirse.
4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
4:23 Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
4:23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
4:24 Les dijo también: Mirad lo que oís: con la medida que medís, os medirán otros, y será añadido á vosotros los que oís.
4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what all of you hear: with what measure all of you mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
4:25 Porque al que tiene, le será dado; y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
4:25 For he that has, to him shall be given: and he that has not, from him shall be taken even that which he has.
4:26 Decía más: Así es el reino de Dios, como si un hombre echa simiente en la tierra;
4:26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
4:27 Y duerme, y se levanta de noche y de día, y la simiente brota y crece como él no sabe.
4:27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how.
4:28 Porque de suyo fructifica la tierra, primero hierba, luego espiga, después grano lleno en la espiga;
4:28 For the earth brings forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
4:29 Y cuando el fruto fuere producido, luego se mete la hoz, porque la siega es llegada.
4:29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.
4:30 Y decía: ¿A qué haremos semejante el reino de Dios? ¿ó con qué parábola le compararemos?
4:30 And he said, Unto which shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
4:31 Es como el grano de mostaza, que, cuando se siembra en tierra, es la más pequeña de todas las simientes que hay en la tierra;
4:31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
4:32 Mas después de sembrado, sube, y se hace la mayor de todas las legumbres, y echa grandes ramas, de tal manera que las aves del cielo puedan morar bajo su sombra.
4:32 But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
4:33 Y con muchas tales parábolas les hablaba la palabra, conforme á lo que podían oir.
4:33 And with many such parables spoke he the word (o. logos) unto them, as they were able to hear it.
4:34 Y sin parábola no les hablaba; mas á sus discípulos en particular declaraba todo.
4:34 But without a parable spoke he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
4:35 Y les dijo aquel día cuando fué tarde: Pasemos de la otra parte.
4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, he says unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
4:36 Y despachando la multitud, le tomaron como estaba, en el barco; y había también con él otros barquitos.
4:36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
4:37 Y se levantó una grande tempestad de viento, y echaba las olas en el barco, de tal manera que ya se henchía.
4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
4:38 Y él estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal, y le despertaron, y le dicen: ¿Maestro, no tienes cuidado que perecemos?
4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, care you not that we perish?
4:39 Y levantándose, increpó al viento, y dijo á la mar: Calla, enmudece. Y cesó el viento, y fué hecha grande bonanza.
4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
4:40 Y á ellos dijo: ¿Por qué estáis así amedrentados? ¿Cómo no tenéis fe?
4:40 And he said unto them, Why are all of you so fearful? how is it that all of you have no faith?
4:41 Y temieron con gran temor, y decían el uno al otro. ¿Quién es éste, que aun el viento y la mar le obedecen?
4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

5:1 Y VINIERON de la otra parte de la mar á la provincia de los Gadarenos.
5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
5:2 Y salido él del barco, luego le salió al encuentro, de los sepulcros, un hombre con un espíritu inmundo,
5:2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, (o. pneuma)
5:3 Que tenía domicilio en los sepulcros, y ni aun con cadenas le podía alguien atar;
5:3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
5:4 Porque muchas veces había sido atado con grillos y cadenas, mas las cadenas habían sido hechas pedazos por él, y los grillos desmenuzados; y nadie le podía domar.
5:4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5:5 Y siempre, de día y de noche, andaba dando voces en los montes y en los sepulcros, é hiriéndose con las piedras.
5:5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
5:6 Y como vió á Jesús de lejos, corrió, y le adoró.
5:6 But when he saw Jesus far off, he ran and worshipped him,
5:7 Y clamando á gran voz, dijo: ¿Qué tienes conmigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te conjuro por Dios que no me atormentes.
5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the most high God? I adjure you by God, that you torment me not.
5:8 Porque le decía: Sal de este hombre, espíritu inmundo.
5:8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit. (o. pneuma)
5:9 Y le preguntó: ¿Cómo te llamas? Y respondió diciendo: Legión me llamo; porque somos muchos.
5:9 And he asked him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
5:10 Y le rogaba mucho que no le enviase fuera de aquella provincia.
5:10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
5:11 Y estaba allí cerca del monte una grande manada de puercos paciendo.
5:11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
5:12 Y le rogaron todos los demonios, diciendo: Envíanos á los puercos para que entremos en ellos.
5:12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
5:13 Y luego Jesús se lo permitió. Y saliendo aquellos espíritus inmundos, entraron en los puercos, y la manada cayó por un despeñadero en la mar; los cuales eran como dos mil; y en la mar se ahogaron.
5:13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits (o. pneuma) went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
5:14 Y los que apacentaban los puercos huyeron, y dieron aviso en la ciudad y en los campos. Y salieron para ver qué era aquello que había acontecido.
5:14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
5:15 Y vienen á Jesús, y ven al que había sido atormentado del demonio, y que había tenido la legión, sentado y vestido, y en su juicio cabal; y tuvieron miedo.
5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
5:16 Y les contaron los que lo habían visto, cómo había acontecido al que había tenido el demonio, y lo de los puercos.
5:16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
5:17 Y comenzaron á rogarle que se fuese de los términos de ellos.
5:17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
5:18 Y entrando él en el barco, le rogaba el que había sido fatigado del demonio, para estar con él.
5:18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
5:19 Mas Jesús no le permitió, sino le dijo: Vete á tu casa, á los tuyos, y cuéntales cuán grandes cosas el Señor ha hecho contigo, y cómo ha tenido misericordia de ti.
5:19 Nevertheless Jesus suffered him not, but says unto him, Go home to your friends, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for you, and has had compassion on you.
5:20 Y se fué, y comenzó á publicar en Decápolis cuan grandes cosas Jesús había hecho con él: y todos se maravillaban.
5:20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
5:21 Y pasando otra vez Jesús en un barco á la otra parte, se juntó á él gran compañía; y estaba junto á la mar.
5:21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
5:22 Y vino uno de los príncipes de la sinagoga, llamado Jairo; y luego que le vió, se postró á sus pies,
5:22 And, behold, there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
5:23 Y le rogaba mucho, diciendo: Mi hija está á la muerte: ven y pondrás las manos sobre ella para que sea salva, y vivirá.
5:23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lies at the point of death: I pray you, come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
5:24 Y fué con él, y le seguía gran compañía, y le apretaban.
5:24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
5:25 Y una mujer que estaba con flujo de sangre doce años hacía,
5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
5:26 Y había sufrido mucho de muchos médicos, y había gastado todo lo que tenía, y nada había aprovechado, antes le iba peor,
5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing improved, but rather grew worse,
5:27 Como oyó hablar de Jesús, llegó por detrás entre la compañía, y tocó su vestido.
5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
5:28 Porque decía: Si tocare tan solamente su vestido, seré salva.
5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
5:29 Y luego la fuente de su sangre se secó; y sintió en el cuerpo que estaba sana de aquel azote.
5:29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
5:30 Y luego Jesús, conociendo en sí mismo la virtud que había salido de él, volviéndose á la compañía, dijo: ¿Quién ha tocado mis vestidos?
5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
5:31 Y le dijeron sus discípulos: Ves que la multitud te aprieta, y dices: ¿Quién me ha tocado?
5:31 And his disciples said unto him, You see the multitude thronging you, and says you, Who touched me?
5:32 Y él miraba alrededor para ver á la que había hecho esto.
5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
5:33 Entonces la mujer, temiendo y temblando, sabiendo lo que en sí había sido hecho, vino y se postró delante de él, y le dijo toda la verdad.
5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
5:34 Y él le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha hecho salva: ve en paz, y queda sana de tu azote.
5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace, and be whole of your plague.
5:35 Hablando aún él, vinieron de casa del príncipe de la sinagoga, diciendo: Tu hija es muerta; ¿para qué fatigas más al Maestro?
5:35 While he yet spoke, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Your daughter is dead: why trouble you the Master any further?
5:36 Mas luego Jesús, oyendo esta razón que se decía, dijo al príncipe de la sinagoga: No temas, cree solamente.
5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word (o. logos) that was spoken, he says unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
5:37 Y no permitió que alguno viniese tras él sino Pedro, y Jacobo, y Juan hermano de Jacobo.
5:37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
5:38 Y vino á casa del príncipe de la sinagoga, y vió el alboroto, los que lloraban y gemían mucho.
5:38 And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
5:39 Y entrando, les dice: ¿Por qué alborotáis y lloráis? La muchacha no es muerta, mas duerme.
5:39 And when he was come in, he says unto them, Why make all of you this disturbance, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleeps.
5:40 Y hacían burla de él: mas él, echados fuera todos, toma al padre y á la madre de la muchacha, y á los que estaban con él, y entra donde la muchacha estaba.
5:40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he takes the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and enters in where the damsel was lying.
5:41 Y tomando la mano de la muchacha, le dice: Talitha cumi; que es, si lo interpretares: Muchacha, á ti digo, levántate.
5:41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto you, arise.
5:42 Y luego la muchacha se levantó, y andaba; porque tenía doce años. Y se espantaron de grande espanto.
5:42 And immediately the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
5:43 Mas él les mandó mucho que nadie lo supiese, y dijo que le diesen de comer.
5:43 And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

6:1 Y SALIO de allí, y vino á su tierra, y le siguieron sus discípulos.
6:1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
6:2 Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?
6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
6:3 ¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.
6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
6:4 Mas Jesús les decía: No hay profeta deshonrado sino en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su casa.
6:4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
6:5 Y no pudo hacer allí alguna maravilla; solamente sanó unos pocos enfermos, poniendo sobre ellos las manos.
6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6:6 Y estaba maravillado de la incredulidad de ellos. Y rodeaba las aldeas de alrededor, enseñando.
6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
6:7 Y llamó á los doce, y comenzó á enviarlos de dos en dos: y les dió potestad sobre los espíritus inmundos.
6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; (o. pneuma)
6:8 Y les mandó que no llevasen nada para el camino, sino solamente báculo; no alforja, ni pan, ni dinero en la bolsa;
6:8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no pouch, no bread, no money in their purse:
6:9 Mas que calzasen sandalias, y no vistiesen dos túnicas.
6:9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
6:10 Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.
6:10 And he said unto them, In what place whatsoever all of you enter into an house, there abide till all of you depart from that place.
6:11 Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.
6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when all of you depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
6:12 Y saliendo, predicaban que los hombres se arrepintiesen.
6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
6:13 Y echaban fuera muchos demonios, y ungían con aceite á muchos enfermos, y sanaban.
6:13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
6:14 Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.
6:14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.
6:15 Otros decían: Elías es. Y otros decían: Profeta es, ó alguno de los profetas.
6:15 Others said, That it is Elijah. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
6:16 Y oyéndo lo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.
6:16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he has risen from the dead.
6:17 Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.
6:17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
6:18 Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.
6:18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.
6:19 Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:
6:19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
6:20 Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.
6:20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
6:21 Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;
6:21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
6:22 Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.
6:22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever you will, and I will give it you.
6:23 Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.
6:23 And he swore unto her, Whatsoever you shall ask of me, I will give it you, unto the half of my kingdom.
6:24 Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.
6:24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
6:25 Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.
6:25 And she came in immediately with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that you give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
6:26 Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.
6:26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
6:27 Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;
6:27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
6:28 El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajó su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.
6:28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
6:29 Y oyéndo lo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.
6:29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
6:30 Y los apóstoles se juntaron con Jesús, y le contaron todo lo que habían hecho, y lo que habían enseñado.
6:30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
6:31 Y él les dijo: Venid vosotros aparte al lugar desierto, y reposad un poco. Porque eran muchos los que iban y venían, que ni aun tenían lugar de comer.
6:31 And he said unto them, Come all of you yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
6:32 Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.
6:32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
6:33 Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.
6:33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran on foot thither out of all cities, and advanced before them, and came together unto him.
6:34 Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.
6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
6:35 Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;
6:35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
6:36 Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.
6:36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
6:37 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles de comer vosotros. Y le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?
6:37 He answered and said unto them, Give all of you them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
6:38 Y él les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id, y vedlo. Y sabiéndolo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.
6:38 He says unto them, How many loaves have all of you? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
6:39 Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar á todos por partidas sobre la hierba verde.
6:39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
6:40 Y se recostaron por partidas, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.
6:40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
6:41 Y tomados los cinco panes y los dos peces, mirando al cielo, bendijo, y partió los panes, y dió á sus discípulos para que los pusiesen delante: y repartió á todos los dos peces.
6:41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
6:42 Y comieron todos, y se hartaron.
6:42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
6:43 Y alzaron de los pedazos doce cofines llenos, y de los peces.
6:43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
6:44 Y los que comieron eran cinco mil hombres.
6:44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
6:45 Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.
6:45 And immediately he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
6:46 Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.
6:46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
6:47 Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.
6:47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
6:48 Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.
6:48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he comes unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
6:49 Y viéndole ellos, que andaba sobre la mar, pensaron que era fantasma, y dieron voces;
6:49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
6:50 Porque todos le veían, y se turbaron. Mas luego habló con ellos, y les dijo: Alentaos; yo soy, no temáis.
6:50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and says unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
6:51 Y subió á ellos en el barco, y calmó el viento: y ellos en gran manera estaban fuera de sí, y se maravillaban:
6:51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
6:52 Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.
6:52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
6:53 Y cuando estuvieron de la otra parte, vinieron á tierra de Genezaret, y tomaron puerto.
6:53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
6:54 Y saliendo ellos del barco, luego le conocieron.
6:54 And when they were come out of the ship, immediately they knew him,
6:55 Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.
6:55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
6:56 Y donde quiera que entraba, en aldeas, ó ciudades, ó heredades, ponían en las calles á los que estaban enfermos, y le rogaban que tocasen siquiera el borde de su vestido; y todos los que le tocaban quedaban sanos.
6:56 And anywhere he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

7:1 Y SE juntaron á él los Fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalem;
7:1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
7:2 Los cuales, viendo á algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es á saber, no lavadas, los condenaban.
7:2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashed, hands, they found fault.
7:3 (Porque los Fariseos y todos los Judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.
7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands often, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
7:4 Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y otras muchas cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)
7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brazen vessels, and of tables.
7:5 Y le preguntaron los Fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme á la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos comunes?
7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not your disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?
7:6 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, Mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7:7 Y en vano me honra, Enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
7:7 Nevertheless in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
7:8 Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres; las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber: y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, all of you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things all of you do.
7:9 Les decía también: Bien invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.
7:9 And he said unto them, Full well all of you reject the commandment of God, that all of you may keep your own tradition.
7:10 Porque Moisés dijo: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, y: El que maldijera al padre ó á la madre, morirá de muerte.
7:10 For Moses said, Honour your father and your mother; and, Whoso curses father or mother, let him die the death:
7:11 Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre ó á la madre: Es Corbán (quiere decir, don mío á Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;
7:11 But all of you say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever you might be profited by me; he shall be free.
7:12 Y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre ó por su madre,
7:12 And all of you suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
7:13 Invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis: y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes á éstas.
7:13 Making the word (o. logos) of God of no effect through your tradition, which all of you have delivered: and many such like things do all of you.
7:14 Y llamando á toda la multitud, les dijo: Oidme todos, y entended:
7:14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
7:15 Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar: mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.
7:15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
7:16 Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
7:16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
7:17 Y apartado de la multitud, habiendo entrado en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobra la parábola.
7:17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
7:18 Y díjoles: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar;
7:18 And he says unto them, Are all of you so without understanding also? Do all of you not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without enters into the man, it cannot defile him;
7:19 Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale á la secreta? Esto decía, haciendo limpias todas las viandas.
7:19 Because it enters not into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the draught, purging all meats?
7:20 Mas decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.
7:20 And he said, That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man.
7:21 Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,
7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
7:22 Los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.
7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
7:23 Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.
7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
7:24 Y levantándose de allí, se fué á los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiese; mas no pudo esconderse.
7:24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
7:25 Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó á sus pies.
7:25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, (o. pneuma) heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
7:26 Y la mujer era Griega, Sirofenisa de nación; y le rogaba que echase fuera de su hija al demonio.
7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
7:27 Más Jesús le dijo: Deja primero hartarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo á los perrillos.
7:27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
7:28 Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.
7:28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
7:29 Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.
7:29 And he said unto her, For this saying (o. logos) go your way; the devil is gone out of your daughter.
7:30 Y como fué á su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y á la hija echada sobre la cama.
7:30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
7:31 Y volviendo á salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón á la mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.
7:31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
7:32 Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.
7:32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an barrier in his speech; and they plead to him to put his hand upon him.
7:33 Y tomándole aparte de la gente, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua;
7:33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
7:34 Y mirando al cielo, gimió, y le dijo: Ephphatha: que es decir: Sé abierto.
7:34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and says unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
7:35 Y luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fué desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.
7:35 And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plain.
7:36 Y les mandó que no lo dijesen á nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.
7:36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
7:37 Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo: hace á los sordos oir, y á los mudos hablar.
7:37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He has done all things well: he makes both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

8:1 EN aquellos días, como hubo gran gentío, y no tenían qué comer, Jesús llamó á sus discípulos, y les dijo:
8:1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and says unto them,
8:2 Tengo compasión de la multitud, porque ya hace tres días que están conmigo, y no tienen qué comer:
8:2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
8:3 Y si los enviare en ayunas á sus casas, desmayarán en el camino; porque algunos de ellos han venido de lejos.
8:3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
8:4 Y sus discípulos le respondieron: ¿De dónde podrá alguien hartar á estos de pan aquí en el desierto?
8:4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?
8:5 Y les pregunto: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete.
8:5 And he asked them, How many loaves have all of you? And they said, Seven.
8:6 Entonces mandó á la multitud que se recostase en tierra; y tomando los siete panes, habiendo dado gracias, partió, y dió á sus discípulos que los pusiesen delante: y los pusieron delante á la multitud.
8:6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
8:7 Tenían también unos pocos pececillos: y los bendijo, y mandó que también los pusiesen delante.
8:7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.
8:8 Y comieron, y se hartaron: y levantaron de los pedazos que habían sobrado, siete espuertas.
8:8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken food that was left seven baskets.
8:9 Y eran los que comieron, como cuatro mil: y los despidió.
8:9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
8:10 Y luego entrando en el barco con sus discípulos, vino á las partes de Dalmanutha.
8:10 And immediately he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
8:11 Y vinieron los Fariseos, y comenzaron á altercar con él, pidiéndole señal del cielo, tentándole.
8:11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
8:12 Y gimiendo en su espíritu, dice: ¿Por qué pide señal esta generación? De cierto os digo que no se dará señal á esta generación.
8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, (o. pneuma) and says, Why does this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
8:13 Y dejándolos, volvió á entrar en el barco, y se fué de la otra parte.
8:13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.
8:14 Y se habían olvidado de tomar pan, y no tenían sino un pan consigo en el barco.
8:14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
8:15 Y les mandó, diciendo: Mirad, guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos, y de la levadura de Herodes.
8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
8:16 Y altercaban los unos con los otros diciendo: Pan no tenemos.
8:16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
8:17 Y como Jesús lo entendió, les dice: ¿Qué altercáis, porque no tenéis pan? ¿no consideráis ni entendéis? ¿aun tenéis endurecido vuestro corazón?
8:17 And when Jesus knew it, he says unto them, Why reason all of you, because all of you have no bread? perceive all of you not yet, neither understand? have all of you your heart yet hardened?
8:18 ¿Teniendo ojos no veis, y teniendo oídos no oís? ¿y no os acordáis?
8:18 Having eyes, see all of you not? and having ears, hear all of you not? and do all of you not remember?
8:19 Cuando partí los cinco panes entre cinco mil, ¿cuántas espuertas llenas de los pedazos alzasteis? Y ellos dijeron: Doce.
8:19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took all of you up? They say unto him, Twelve.
8:20 Y cuando los siete panes entre cuatro mil, ¿cuántas espuertas llenas de los pedazos alzasteis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete.
8:20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took all of you up? And they said, Seven.
8:21 Y les dijo: ¿Cómo aún no entendéis?
8:21 And he said unto them, How is it that all of you do not understand?
8:22 Y vino á Bethsaida; y le traen un ciego, y le ruegan que le tocase.
8:22 And he comes to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
8:23 Entonces, tomando la mano del ciego, le sacó fuera de la aldea; y escupiendo en sus ojos, y poniéndole las manos encima, le preguntó si veía algo.
8:23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
8:24 Y él mirando, dijo: Veo los hombres, pues veo que andan como árboles.
8:24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
8:25 Luego le puso otra vez las manos sobre sus ojos, y le hizo que mirase; y fué restablecido, y vió de lejos y claramente á todos.
8:25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
8:26 Y envióle á su casa, diciendo: No entres en la aldea, ni lo digas á nadie en la aldea.
8:26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.
8:27 Y salió Jesús y sus discípulos por las aldeas de Cesarea de Filipo. Y en el camino preguntó á sus discípulos, diciéndoles: ¿Quién dicen los hombres que soy yo?
8:27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
8:28 Y ellos respondieron: Juan Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, Alguno de los profetas.
8:28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets.
8:29 Entonces él les dice: Y vosotros, ¿quién decís que soy yo? Y respondiendo Pedro, le dice: Tú eres el Cristo.
8:29 And he says unto them, But whom say all of you that I am? And Peter answers and says unto him, You are the Christ.
8:30 Y les apercibió que no hablasen de él á ninguno.
8:30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
8:31 Y comenzó á enseñarles, que convenía que el Hijo del hombre padeciese mucho, y ser reprobado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y ser muerto, y resucitar después de tres días.
8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
8:32 Y claramente decía esta palabra. Entonces Pedro le tomó, y le comenzó á reprender.
8:32 And he spoke that saying (o. logos) openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
8:33 Y él, volviéndose y mirando á sus discípulos, riñó á Pedro, diciendo: Apártate de mí, Satanás; porque no sabes las cosas que son de Dios, sino las que son de los hombres.
8:33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get you behind me, Satan: for you savour not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
8:34 Y llamando á la gente con sus discípulos, les dijo: Cualquiera que quisiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
8:35 Porque el que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y el que perdiere su vida por causa de mí y del evangelio, la salvará.
8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
8:36 Porque ¿qué aprovechará al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y pierde su alma?
8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
8:37 ¿O qué recompensa dará el hombre por su alma?
8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
8:38 Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras en esta generación adulterina y pecadora, el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará también de él, cuando vendrá en la gloria de su Padre con los santos ángeles.
8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words (o. logos) in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
