21:1 Y COMO se acercaron á Jerusalem, y vinieron á Bethfagé, al monte de las Olivas, entonces Jesús envió dos discípulos,

21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

21:2 Diciéndoles: Id á la aldea que está delante de vosotros, y luego hallaréis una asna atada, y un pollino con ella: desatad la, y traédme los.

21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village opposite to you, and immediately all of you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

21:3 Y si alguno os dijere algo, decid: El Señor los ha menester. Y luego los dejará.

21:3 And if any man say ought unto you, all of you shall say, The Lord has need of them; and immediately he will send them.

21:4 Y todo esto fué hecho, para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta, que dijo:

21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

21:5 Decid á la hija de Sión: He aquí, tu Rey viene á ti, Manso, y sentado sobre una asna, Y sobre un pollino, hijo de animal de yugo.

21:5 Tell all of you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King comes unto you, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

21:6 Y los discípulos fueron, é hicieron como Jesús les mandó;

21:6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

21:7 Y trajeron el asna y el pollino, y pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos; y se sentó sobre ellos.

21:7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

21:8 Y la compañía, que era muy numerosa, tendía sus mantos en el camino: y otros cortaban ramos de los árboles, y los tendían por el camino.

21:8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and scattered them in the way.

21:9 Y las gentes que iban delante, y las que iban detrás, aclamaban diciendo: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!

21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

21:10 Y entrando él en Jerusalem, toda la ciudad se alborotó, diciendo. ¿Quién es éste?

21:10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

21:11 Y las gentes decían: Este es Jesús, el profeta, de Nazaret de Galilea.

21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

21:12 Y entró Jesús en el templo de Dios, y echó fuera todos los que vendían y compraban en el templo, y trastornó las mesas de los cambiadores, y las sillas de los que vendían palomas;

21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

21:13 Y les dice: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración será llamada; mas vosotros cueva de ladrones la habéis hecho.

21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but all of you have made it a den of thieves.

21:14 Entonces vinieron á él ciegos y cojos en el templo, y los sanó.

21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

21:15 Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas, viendo las maravillas que hacía, y á los muchachos aclamando en el templo y diciendo: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! se indignaron,

21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,

21:16 Y le dijeron: ¿Oyes lo que éstos dicen? Y Jesús les dice: Sí: ¿nunca leísteis: De la boca de los niños y de los que maman perfeccionaste la alabanza?

21:16 And said unto him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus says unto them, Yea; have all of you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have perfected praise?

21:17 Y dejándolos, se salió fuera de la ciudad, á Bethania; y posó allí.

21:17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

21:18 Y por la mañana volviendo á la ciudad, tuvo hambre.

21:18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

21:19 Y viendo una higuera cerca del camino, vino á ella, y no halló nada en ella, sino hojas solamente, y le dijo: Nunca más para siempre nazca de ti fruto. Y luego se secó la higuera.

21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

21:20 Y viendo esto los discípulos, maravillados decían: ¿Cómo se secó luego la higuera?

21:20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

21:21 Y respondiendo Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fe, y no dudareis, no sólo haréis esto de la higuera: mas si á este monte dijereis: Quítate y échate en la mar, será hecho.

21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If all of you have faith, and doubt not, all of you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if all of you shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; it shall be done.

21:22 Y todo lo que pidiereis en oración, creyendo, lo recibiréis.

21:22 And all things, whatsoever all of you shall ask in prayer, believing, all of you shall receive.

21:23 Y como vino al templo, llegáronse á él cuando estaba enseñando, los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo, diciendo. ¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? ¿y quién te dió esta autoridad?

21:23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority do you these things? and who gave you this authority?

21:24 Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Yo también os preguntaré una palabra, la cual si me dijereis, también yo os diré con qué autoridad hago esto.

21:24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, (o. logos) which if all of you tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

21:25 El bautismo de Juan, ¿de dónde era? ¿del cielo, ó de los hombres? Ellos entonces pensaron entre sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos, del cielo, nos dirá: ¿Por qué pues no le creísteis?

21:25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did all of you not then believe him?

21:26 Y si dijéremos, de los hombres, tememos al pueblo; porque todos tienen á Juan por profeta.

21:26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

21:27 Y respondiendo á Jesús, dijeron: No sabemos. Y él también les dijo: Ni yo os digo con qué autoridad hago esto.

21:27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

21:28 Mas, ¿qué os parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos, y llegando al primero, le dijo: Hijo, ve hoy á trabajar en mi viña.

21:28 But what think all of you? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

21:29 Y respondiendo él, dijo: No quiero; mas después, arrepentido, fué.

21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

21:30 Y llegando al otro, le dijo de la misma manera; y respondiendo él, dijo: Yo, señor, voy. Y no fué.

21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

21:31 ¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad de su padre? Dicen ellos: El primero. Díceles Jesús: De cierto os digo, que los publicanos y las rameras os van delante al reino de Dios.

21:31 Whether of them two did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus says unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

21:32 Porque vino á vosotros Juan en camino de justicia, y no le creísteis; y los publicanos y las rameras le creyeron; y vosotros, viendo esto, no os arrepentisteis después para creerle.

21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and all of you believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and all of you, when all of you had seen it, repented not afterward, that all of you might believe him.

21:33 Oíd otra parábola: Fué un hombre, padre de familia, el cual plantó una viña; y la cercó de vallado, y cavó en ella un lagar, y edificó una torre, y la dió á renta á labradores, y se partió lejos.

21:33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

21:34 Y cuando se acercó el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus siervos á los labradores, para que recibiesen sus frutos.

21:34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

21:35 Mas los labradores, tomando á los siervos, al uno hirieron, y al otro mataron, y al otro apedrearon.

21:35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

21:36 Envió de nuevo otros siervos, más que los primeros; é hicieron con ellos de la misma manera.

21:36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

21:37 Y á la postre les envió su hijo, diciendo: Tendrán respeto á mi hijo.

21:37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

21:38 Mas los labradores, viendo al hijo, dijeron entre sí: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle, y tomemos su heredad.

21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

21:39 Y tomado, le echaron fuera de la viña, y le mataron.

21:39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

21:40 Pues cuando viniere el señor de la viña, ¿qué hará á aquellos labradores?

21:40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

21:41 Dícenle: á los malos destruirá miserablemente, y su viña dará á renta á otros labradores, que le paguen el fruto á sus tiempos.

21:41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

21:42 Díceles Jesús: ¿Nunca leísteis en las Escrituras: La piedra que desecharon los que edificaban, Esta fué hecha por cabeza de esquina: Por el Señor es hecho esto, Y es cosa maravillosa en nuestros ojos?

21:42 Jesus says unto them, Did all of you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

21:43 Por tanto os digo, que el reino de Dios será quitado de vosotros, y será dado á gente que haga los frutos de él.

21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

21:44 Y el que cayere sobre esta piedra, será quebrantado; y sobre quien ella cayere, le desmenuzará.

21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

21:45 Y oyendo los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los Fariseos sus parábolas, entendieron que hablaba de ellos.

21:45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.

21:46 Y buscando cómo echarle mano, temieron al pueblo; porque le tenían por profeta.

21:46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

22:1 Y RESPONDIENDO Jesús, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:

22:1 And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again by parables, and said,

22:2 El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo;

22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

22:3 Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.

22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

22:4 Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está prevenido: venid á las bodas.

22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

22:5 Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron, uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;

22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

22:6 Y otros, tomando á sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.

22:6 And the remnant took his servants, and pleaded them spitefully, and slew them.

22:7 Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.

22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was angry: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

22:8 Entonces dice á sus siervos: Las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.

22:8 Then says he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

22:9 Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.

22:9 Go all of you therefore into the highways, and as many as all of you shall find, bid to the marriage.

22:10 Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos: y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.

22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guest.

22:11 Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vió allí un hombre no vestido de boda.

22:11 And when the king came in to see the guest, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

22:12 Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.

22:12 And he says unto him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

22:13 Entonces el rey dijo á los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

22:14 Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.

22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

22:15 Entonces, idos los Fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.

22:15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. (o. logos)

22:16 Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.

22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, neither care you for any man: for you regard not the person of men.

22:17 Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

22:17 Tell us therefore, What think you? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

22:18 Mas Jesús, entendida la malicia de ellos, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?

22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt all of you me, all of you hypocrites?

22:19 Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.

22:19 Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

22:20 Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?

22:20 And he says unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

22:21 Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.

22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then says he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22:22 Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron, y dejándole se fueron.

22:22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

22:23 Aquel día llegaron á él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,

22:23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

22:24 Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.

22:24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

22:25 Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.

22:25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

22:26 De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.

22:26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

22:27 Y después de todos murió también la mujer.

22:27 And last of all the woman died also.

22:28 En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.

22:28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

22:29 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.

22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, All of you do go astray, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

22:30 Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres marido; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.

22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

22:31 Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:

22:31 But as concerning the resurrection of the dead, have all of you not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

22:32 Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.

22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

22:33 Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.

22:33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

22:34 Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.

22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

22:35 Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:

22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

22:36 Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?

22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

22:37 Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.

22:37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

22:38 Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.

22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

22:39 Y el segundo es semejante á éste: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.

22:39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

22:40 De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.

22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

22:41 Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,

22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

22:42 Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.

22:42 Saying, What think all of you of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.

22:43 El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:

22:43 He says unto them, How then does David in spirit (o. pneuma) call him Lord, saying,

22:44 Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, Entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?

22:44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, till I make yours enemies your footstool?

22:45 Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?

22:45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

22:46 Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.

22:46 And no man was able to answer him a word, (o. logos) neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

23:1 ENTONCES habló Jesús á las gentes y á sus discípulos,

23:1 Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

23:2 Diciendo: Sobre la cátedra de Moisés se sentaron los escribas y los Fariseos:

23:2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

23:3 Así que, todo lo que os dijeren que guardéis, guardad lo y haced lo; mas no hagáis conforme á sus obras: porque dicen, y no hacen.

23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not all of you after their works: for they say, and do not.

23:4 Porque atan cargas pesadas y difíciles de llevar, y las ponen sobre los hombros de los hombres; mas ni aun con su dedo las quieren mover.

23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

23:5 Antes, todas sus obras hacen para ser mirados de los hombres; porque ensanchan sus filacterias, y extienden los flecos de sus mantos;

23:5 But all their works they do in order to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

23:6 Y aman los primeros asientos en las cenas, y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas;

23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

23:7 Y las salutaciones en las plazas, y ser llamados de los hombres Rabbí, Rabbí.

23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

23:8 Mas vosotros, no queráis ser llamados Rabbí; porque uno es vuestro Maestro, el Cristo; y todos vosotros sois hermanos.

23:8 But be not all of you called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren.

23:9 Y vuestro padre no llaméis á nadie en la tierra; porque uno es vuestro Padre, el cual está en los cielos.

23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

23:10 Ni seáis llamados maestros; porque uno es vuestro Maestro, el Cristo.

23:10 Neither be all of you called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

23:11 El que es el mayor de vosotros, sea vuestro siervo.

23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

23:12 Porque el que se ensalzare, será humillado; y el que se humillare, será ensalzado.

23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought low; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

23:13 Mas ¡ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque cerráis el reino de los cielos delante de los hombres; que ni vosotros entráis, ni á los que están entrando dejáis entrar.

23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for all of you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer all of you them that are entering to go in.

23:14 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque coméis las casas de las viudas, y por pretexto hacéis larga oración: por esto llevaréis mas grave juicio.

23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore all of you shall receive the greater damnation.

23:15 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque rodeáis la mar y la tierra por hacer un prosélito; y cuando fuere hecho, le hacéis hijo del infierno doble más que vosotros.

23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, all of you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

23:16 Ay de vosotros, guías ciegos! que decís: Cualquiera que jurare por el templo es nada; mas cualquiera que jurare por el oro del templo, deudor es.

23:16 Woe unto you, all of you blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

23:17 Insensatos y ciegos! porque ¿cuál es mayor, el oro, ó el templo que santifica al oro?

23:17 All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that santifies the gold?

23:18 Y: Cualquiera que jurare por el altar, es nada; mas cualquiera que jurare por el presente que está sobre él, deudor es.

23:18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

23:19 Necios y ciegos! porque, ¿cuál es mayor, el presente, ó el altar que santifica al presente?

23:19 All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that santifies the gift?

23:20 Pues el que jurare por el altar, jura por él, y por todo lo que está sobre él;

23:20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, swears by it, and by all things thereon.

23:21 Y el que jurare por el templo, jura por él, y por Aquél que habita en él;

23:21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, swears by it, and by him that dwells therein.

23:22 Y el que jura por el cielo, jura por el trono de Dios, y por Aquél que está sentado sobre él.

23:22 And he that shall swear by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him that sits thereon.

23:23 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque diezmáis la menta y el eneldo y el comino, y dejasteis lo que es lo más grave de la ley, es á saber, el juicio y la misericordia y la fe: esto era menester hacer, y no dejar lo otro.

23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

23:24 Guías ciegos, que coláis el mosquito, mas tragáis el camello!

23:24 All of you blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.

23:25 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque limpiais lo que está de fuera del vaso y del plato; mas de dentro están llenos de robo y de injusticia.

23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

23:26 Fariseo ciego, limpia primero lo de dentro del vaso y del plato, para que también lo de fuera se haga limpio!

23:26 You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

23:27 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque sois semejantes á sepulcros blanqueados, que de fuera, á la verdad, se muestran hermosos, mas de dentro están llenos de huesos de muertos y de toda suciedad.

23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are like unto whitewashed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

23:28 Así también vosotros de fuera, á la verdad, os mostráis justos á los hombres; mas de dentro, llenos estáis de hipocresía é iniquidad.

23:28 Even so all of you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within all of you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

23:29 Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! porque edificáis los sepulcros de los profetas, y adornáis los monumentos de los justos,

23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because all of you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous,

23:30 Y decís: Si fuéramos en los días de nuestros padres, no hubiéramos sido sus compañeros en la sangre de los profetas.

23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

23:31 Así que, testimonio dais á vosotros mismos, que sois hijos de aquellos que mataron á los profetas.

23:31 Wherefore all of you be witnesses unto yourselves, that all of you are the children of them which killed the prophets.

23:32 Vosotros también henchid la medida de vuestros padres!

23:32 Fill all of you up then the measure of your fathers.

23:33 Serpientes, generación de víboras! ¿cómo evitaréis el juicio del infierno?

23:33 All of you serpents, all of you generation of vipers, how can all of you escape the damnation of hell?

23:34 Por tanto, he aquí, yo envío á vosotros profetas, y sabios, y escribas: y de ellos, á unos mataréis y crucificaréis, y á otros de ellos azotaréis en vuestras sinagogas, y perseguiréis de ciudad en ciudad:

23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them all of you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall all of you scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

23:35 Para que venga sobre vosotros toda la sangre justa que se ha derramado sobre la tierra, desde la sangre de Abel el justo, hasta la sangre de Zacarías, hijo de Barachîas, al cual matasteis entre el templo y el altar.

23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom all of you slew between the temple and the altar.

23:36 De cierto os digo que todo esto vendrá sobre esta generación.

23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

23:37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, que matas á los profetas, y apedreas á los que son enviados á ti! ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina junta sus pollos debajo de las alas, y no quisiste!

23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and all of you would not!

23:38 He aquí vuestra casa os es dejada desierta.

23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

23:39 Porque os digo que desde ahora no me veréis, hasta que digáis: Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor.

23:39 For I say unto you, All of you shall not see me henceforth, till all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

24:1 Y SALIDO Jesús, íbase del templo; y se llegaron sus discípulos, para mostrarle los edificios del templo.

24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him in order to show him the buildings of the temple.

24:2 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: ¿Veis todo esto? de cierto os digo, que no será dejada aquí piedra sobre piedra, que no sea destruída.

24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See all of you not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

24:3 Y sentándose él en el monte de las Olivas, se llegaron á él los discípulos aparte, diciendo: Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas, y qué señal habrá de tu venida, y del fin del mundo?

24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?

24:4 Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Mirad que nadie os engañe.

24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

24:5 Porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo; y á muchos engañarán.

24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

24:6 Y oiréis guerras, y rumores de guerras: mirad que no os turbéis; porque es menester que todo esto acontezca; mas aún no es el fin.

24:6 And all of you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that all of you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

24:7 Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino; y habrá pestilencias, y hambres, y terremotos por los lugares.

24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

24:8 Y todas estas cosas, principio de dolores.

24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

24:9 Entonces os entregarán para ser afligidos, y os matarán; y seréis aborrecidos de todas las gentes por causa de mi nombre.

24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and all of you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

24:10 Y muchos entonces serán escandalizados; y se entregarán unos á otros, y unos á otros se aborrecerán.

24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

24:11 Y muchos falsos profetas se levantarán y engañarán á muchos.

24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

24:12 Y por haberse multiplicado la maldad, la caridad de muchos se resfriará.

24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love (o. agape) of many shall wax cold.

24:13 Mas el que perseverare hasta el fin, éste será salvo.

24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

24:14 Y será predicado este evangelio del reino en todo el mundo, por testimonio á todos los Gentiles; y entonces vendrá el fin.

24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

24:15 Por tanto, cuando viereis la abominación del asolamiento, que fué dicha por Daniel profeta, que estará en el lugar santo, (el que lee, entienda),

24:15 When all of you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)

24:16 Entonces los que están en Judea, huyan á los montes;

24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

24:17 Y el que sobre el terrado, no descienda á tomar algo de su casa;

24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

24:18 Y el que en el campo, no vuelva atrás á tomar sus vestidos.

24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

24:19 Mas ¡ay de las preñadas, y de las que crían en aquellos días!

24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

24:20 Orad, pues, que vuestra huída no sea en invierno ni en sábado;

24:20 But pray all of you that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

24:21 Porque habrá entonces grande aflicción, cual no fué desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, ni será.

24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

24:22 Y si aquellos días no fuesen acortados, ninguna carne sería salva; mas por causa de los escogidos, aquellos días serán acortados.

24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

24:23 Entonces, si alguno os dijere: He aquí está el Cristo, ó allí, no creáis.

24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24:24 Porque se levantarán falsos Cristos, y falsos profetas, y darán señales grandes y prodigios; de tal manera que engañarán, si es posible, aun á los escogidos.

24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

24:25 He aquí os lo he dicho antes.

24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

24:26 Así que, si os dijeren: He aquí en el desierto está; no salgáis: He aquí en las cámaras; no creáis.

24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

24:27 Porque como el relámpago que sale del oriente y se muestra hasta el occidente, así será también la venida del Hijo del hombre.

24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

24:28 Porque donde quiera que estuviere el cuerpo muerto, allí se juntarán las águilas.

24:28 For where ever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

24:29 Y luego después de la aflicción de aquellos días, el sol se obscurecerá, y la luna no dará su lumbre, y las estrellas caerán del cielo, y las virtudes de los cielos serán conmovidas.

24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

24:30 Y entonces se mostrará la señal del Hijo del hombre en el cielo; y entonces lamentarán todas las tribus de la tierra, y verán al Hijo del hombre que vendrá sobre las nubes del cielo, con grande poder y gloria.

24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24:31 Y enviará sus ángeles con gran voz de trompeta, y juntarán sus escogidos de los cuatro vientos, de un cabo del cielo hasta el otro.

24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

24:32 De la higuera aprended la parábola: Cuando ya su rama se enternece, y las hojas brotan, sabéis que el verano está cerca.

24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, all of you know that summer is nigh:

24:33 Así también vosotros, cuando viereis todas estas cosas, sabed que está cercano, á las puertas.

24:33 So likewise all of you, when all of you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

24:34 De cierto os digo, que no pasará esta generación, que todas estas cosas no acontezcan.

24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

24:35 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, mas mis palabras no pasarán.

24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words (o. logos) shall not pass away.

24:36 Empero del día y hora nadie sabe, ni aun los ángeles de los cielos, sino mi Padre solo.

24:36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

24:37 Mas como los días de Noé, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre.

24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

24:38 Porque como en los días antes del diluvio estaban comiendo y bebiendo, casándose y dando en casamiento, hasta el día que Noé entró en el arca,

24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

24:39 Y no conocieron hasta que vino el diluvio y llevó á todos, así será también la venida del Hijo del hombre.

24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

24:40 Entonces estarán dos en el campo; el uno será tomado, y el otro será dejado:

24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

24:41 Dos mujeres moliendo á un molinillo; la una será tomada, y la otra será dejada.

24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

24:42 Velad pues, porque no sabéis á qué hora ha de venir vuestro Señor.

24:42 Watch therefore: for all of you know not what hour your Lord does come.

24:43 Esto empero sabed, que si el padre de la familia supiese á cuál vela el ladrón había de venir, velaría, y no dejaría minar su casa.

24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

24:44 Por tanto, también vosotros estad apercibidos; porque el Hijo del hombre ha de venir á la hora que no pensáis.

24:44 Therefore be all of you also ready: for in such an hour as all of you think not the Son of man comes.

24:45 ¿Quién pues es el siervo fiel y prudente, al cual puso su señor sobre su familia para que les dé alimento á tiempo?

24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?

24:46 Bienaventurado aquel siervo, al cual, cuando su señor viniere, le hallare haciendo así.

24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.

24:47 De cierto os digo, que sobre todos sus bienes le pondrá.

24:47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

24:48 Y si aquel siervo malo dijere en su corazón Mi señor se tarda en venir:

24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming;

24:49 Y comenzare á herir á sus consiervos, y aun á comer y á beber con los borrachos;

24:49 And shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

24:50 Vendrá el señor de aquel siervo en el día que no espera, y á la hora que no sabe,

24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

24:51 Y le cortará por medio, y pondrá su parte con los hipócritas: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

25:1 ENTONCES el reino de los cielos será semejante á diez vírgenes, que tomando sus lámparas, salieron á recibir al esposo.

25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

25:2 Y las cinco de ellas eran prudentes, y las cinco fatuas.

25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

25:3 Las que eran fatuas, tomando sus lámparas, no tomaron consigo aceite;

25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

25:4 Mas las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus vasos, juntamente con sus lámparas.

25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

25:5 Y tardándose el esposo, cabecearon todas, y se durmieron.

25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

25:6 Y á la media noche fué oído un clamor: He aquí, el esposo viene; salid á recibirle.

25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go all of you out to meet him.

25:7 Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron, y aderezaron sus lámparas.

25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

25:8 Y las fatuas dijeron á las prudentes: Dadnos de vuestro aceite; porque nuestras lámparas se apagan.

25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

25:9 Mas las prudentes respondieron, diciendo. Porque no nos falte á nosotras y á vosotras, id antes á los que venden, y comprad para vosotras.

25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go all of you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

25:10 Y mientras que ellas iban á comprar, vino el esposo; y las que estaban apercibidas, entraron con él á las bodas; y se cerró la puerta.

25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

25:11 Y después vinieron también las otras vírgenes, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos.

25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

25:12 Mas respondiendo él, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no os conozco.

25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

25:13 Velad, pues, porque no sabéis el día ni la hora en que el Hijo del hombre ha de venir.

25:13 Watch therefore, for all of you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.

25:14 Porque el reino de los cielos es como un hombre que partiéndose lejos llamó á sus siervos, y les entregó sus bienes.

25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

25:15 Y á éste dió cinco talentos, y al otro dos, y al otro uno: á cada uno conforme á su facultad; y luego se partió lejos.

25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and immediately took his journey.

25:16 Y el que había recibido cinco talentos se fué, y granjeó con ellos, é hizo otros cinco talentos.

25:16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

25:17 Asimismo el que había recibido dos, ganó también él otros dos.

25:17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

25:18 Mas el que había recibido uno, fué y cavó en la tierra, y escondió el dinero de su señor.

25:18 But he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

25:19 Y después de mucho tiempo, vino el señor de aquellos siervos, é hizo cuentas con ellos.

25:19 After a long time the lord of those servants comes, and reckons (o. logos) with them.

25:20 Y llegando el que había recibido cinco talentos, trajo otros cinco talentos, diciendo: Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros cinco talentos he ganado sobre ellos.

25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, you delivered unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

25:21 Y su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.

25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.

25:22 Y llegando también el que había recibido dos talentos, dijo: Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; he aquí otros dos talentos he ganado sobre ellos.

25:22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

25:23 Su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.

25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.

25:24 Y llegando también el que había recibido un talento, dijo: Señor, te conocía que eres hombre duro, que siegas donde no sembraste, y recoges donde no esparciste;

25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew you that you are an hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered:

25:25 Y tuve miedo, y fuí, y escondí tu talento en la tierra: he aquí tienes lo que es tuyo.

25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: lo, there you have that is yours.

25:26 Y respondiendo su señor, le dijo: Malo y negligente siervo, sabías que siego donde no sembré y que recojo donde no esparcí;

25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not scattered:

25:27 Por tanto te convenía dar mi dinero á los banqueros, y viniendo yo, hubiera recibido lo que es mío con usura.

25:27 You ought therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with interest.

25:28 Quitadle pues el talento, y dadlo al que tiene diez talentos.

25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which has ten talents.

25:29 Porque á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado, y tendrá más; y al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

25:29 For unto every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.

25:30 Y al siervo inútil echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

25:30 And cast all of you the useless servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

25:31 Y cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria, y todos los santos ángeles con él, entonces se sentará sobre el trono de su gloria.

25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

25:32 Y serán reunidas delante de él todas las gentes: y los apartará los unos de los otros, como aparta el pastor las ovejas de los cabritos.

25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:

25:33 Y pondrá las ovejas á su derecha, y los cabritos á la izquierda.

25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

25:34 Entonces el Rey dirá á los que estarán á su derecha: Venid, benditos de mi Padre, heredad el reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo.

25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, all of you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

25:35 Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; fuí huésped, y me recogisteis;

25:35 For I was an hungered, and all of you gave me food: I was thirsty, and all of you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and all of you took me in:

25:36 Desnudo, y me cubristeis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; estuve en la cárcel, y vinisteis á mí.

25:36 Naked, and all of you clothed me: I was sick, and all of you visited me: I was in prison, and all of you came unto me.

25:37 Entonces los justos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te sustentamos? ¿ó sediento, y te dimos de beber?

25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you an hungered, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink?

25:38 ¿Y cuándo te vimos huésped, y te recogimos? ¿ó desnudo, y te cubrimos?

25:38 When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you?

25:39 ¿O cuándo te vimos enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y vinimos á ti?

25:39 Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came unto you?

25:40 Y respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: De cierto os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis á uno de estos mis hermanos pequeñitos, á mí lo hicisteis.

25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as all of you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, all of you have done it unto me.

25:41 Entonces dirá también á los que estarán á la izquierda: Apartaos de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el diablo y para sus ángeles:

25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, all of you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

25:42 Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber;

25:42 For I was an hungered, and all of you gave me no food: I was thirsty, and all of you gave me no drink:

25:43 Fuí huésped, y no me recogisteis; desnudo, y no me cubristeis; enfermo, y en la cárcel, y no me visitasteis.

25:43 I was a stranger, and all of you took me not in: naked, and all of you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and all of you visited me not.

25:44 Entonces también ellos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, ó sediento, ó huésped, ó desnudo, ó enfermo, ó en la cárcel, y no te servimos?

25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you an hungered, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto you?

25:45 Entonces les responderá, diciendo: De cierto os digo que en cuanto no lo hicisteis á uno de estos pequeñitos, ni á mí lo hicisteis.

25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as all of you did it not to one of the least of these, all of you did it not to me.

25:46 E irán éstos al tormento eterno, y los justos á la vida eterna.

25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

26:1 Y ACONTECIO que, como hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo á sus discípulos:

26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, (o. logos) he said unto his disciples,

26:2 Sabéis que dentro de dos días se hace la pascua, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado para ser crucificado.

26:2 All of you know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

26:3 Entonces los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron al patio del pontífice, el cual se llamaba Caifás;

26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

26:4 Y tuvieron consejo para prender por engaño á Jesús, y matarle.

26:4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

26:5 Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto en el pueblo.

26:5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

26:6 Y estando Jesús en Bethania, en casa de Simón el leproso,

26:6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

26:7 Vino á él una mujer, teniendo un vaso de alabastro de unguento de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado á la mesa.

26:7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at food.

26:8 Lo cual viendo sus discípulos, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué se pierde esto?

26:8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

26:9 Porque esto se podía vender por gran precio, y darse á los pobres.

26:9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

26:10 Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué dais pena á esta mujer? Pues ha hecho conmigo buena obra.

26:10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble all of you the woman? for she has wrought a good work upon me.

26:11 Porque siempre tendréis pobres con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.

26:11 For all of you have the poor always with you; but me all of you have not always.

26:12 Porque echando este unguento sobre mi cuerpo, para sepultarme lo ha hecho.

26:12 For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

26:13 De cierto os digo, que donde quiera que este evangelio fuere predicado en todo el mundo, también será dicho para memoria de ella, lo que ésta ha hecho.

26:13 Verily I say unto you, Where ever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.

26:14 Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fué á los príncipes de los sacerdotes,

26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

26:15 Y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os lo entregaré? Y ellos le señalaron treinta piezas de plata.

26:15 And said unto them, What will all of you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

26:16 Y desde entonces buscaba oportunidad para entregarle.

26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

26:17 Y el primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos á Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que aderecemos para ti para comer la pascua?

26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where will you that we prepare for you to eat the passover?

26:18 Y él dijo: Id á la ciudad á cierto hombre, y decidle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca; en tu casa haré la pascua con mis discípulos.

26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master says, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples.

26:19 Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y aderezaron la pascua.

26:19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

26:20 Y como fué la tarde del día, se sentó á la mesa con los doce.

26:20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

26:21 Y comiendo ellos, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.

26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

26:22 Y entristecidos ellos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos á decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?

26:22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

26:23 Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ése me ha de entregar.

26:23 And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

26:24 A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está escrito de él, mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera al tal hombre no haber nacido.

26:24 The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

26:25 Entonces respondiendo Judas, que le entregaba, dijo. ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Dícele: Tú lo has dicho.

26:25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, You have said.

26:26 Y comiendo ellos, tomó Jesús el pan, y bendijo, y lo partió, y dió á sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomad, comed. esto es mi cuerpo.

26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

26:27 Y tomando el vaso, y hechas gracias, les dió, diciendo: Bebed de él todos;

26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink all of you all of it;

26:28 Porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, la cual es derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.

26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

26:29 Y os digo, que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día, cuando lo tengo de beber nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.

26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

26:30 Y habiendo cantado el himno, salieron al monte de las Olivas.

26:30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

26:31 Entonces Jesús les dice: Todos vosotros seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al Pastor, y las ovejas de la manada serán dispersas.

26:31 Then says Jesus unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

26:32 Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.

26:32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

26:33 Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados en ti, yo nunca seré escandalizado.

26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.

26:34 Jesús le dice: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this night, before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times.

26:35 Dícele Pedro. Aunque me sea menester morir contigo, no te negaré. Y todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo.

26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.

26:36 Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos á la aldea que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, hasta que vaya allí y ore.

26:36 Then comes Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and says unto the disciples, Sit all of you here, while I go and pray yonder.

26:37 Y tomando á Pedro, y á los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó á entristecerse y á angustiarse en gran manera.

26:37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

26:38 Entonces Jesús les dice: Mi alma está muy triste hasta la muerte; quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo.

26:38 Then says he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry all of you here, and watch with me.

26:39 Y yéndose un poco más adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando, y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí este vaso; empero no como yo quiero, sino como tú.

26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.

26:40 Y vino á sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo á Pedro: ¿Así no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?

26:40 And he comes unto the disciples, and finds them asleep, and says unto Peter, What, could all of you not watch with me one hour?

26:41 Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad está presto, mas la carne enferma.

26:41 Watch and pray, that all of you enter not into temptation: the spirit (o. pneuma) indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

26:42 Otra vez fué, segunda vez, y oró diciendo. Padre mío, si no puede este vaso pasar de mí sin que yo lo beba, hágase tu voluntad.

26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done.

26:43 Y vino, y los halló otra vez durmiendo; porque los ojos de ellos estaban agravados.

26:43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

26:44 Y dejándolos fuése de nuevo, y oró tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras.

26:44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. (o. logos)

26:45 Entonces vino á sus discípulos y díceles: Dormid ya, y descansad: he aquí ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores.

26:45 Then comes he to his disciples, and says unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

26:46 Levantaos, vamos: he aquí ha llegado el que me ha entregado.

26:46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me.

26:47 Y hablando aún él, he aquí Judas, uno de los doce, vino, y con él mucha gente con espadas y con palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los ancianos del pueblo.

26:47 And while he yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

26:48 Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle.

26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

26:49 Y luego que llegó á Jesús, dijo: Salve, Maestro. Y le besó.

26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

26:50 Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, ¿á qué vienes? Entonces llegaron, y echaron mano á Jesús, y le prendieron.

26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

26:51 Y he aquí, uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, é hiriendo á un siervo del pontífice, le quitó la oreja.

26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and stroke off his ear.

26:52 Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve tu espada á su lugar; porque todos los que tomaren espada, á espada perecerán.

26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

26:53 ¿Acaso piensas que no puedo ahora orar á mi Padre, y él me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles?

26:53 Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

26:54 ¿Cómo, pues, se cumplirían las Escrituras, que así conviene que sea hecho?

26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

26:55 En aquella hora dijo Jesús á las gentes: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á prenderme? Cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis.

26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are all of you come out as against a thief with swords and staves in order to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and all of you laid no hold on me.

26:56 Mas todo esto se hace, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos huyeron, dejándole.

26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

26:57 Y ellos, prendido Jesús, le llevaron á Caifás pontífice, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban juntos.

26:57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

26:58 Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del pontífice; y entrando dentro, estábase sentado con los criados, para ver el fin.

26:58 But Peter followed him far off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

26:59 Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos, y todo el consejo, buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregale á la muerte;

26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

26:60 Y no lo hallaron, aunque muchos testigos falsos se llegaban; mas á la postre vinieron dos testigos falsos,

26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

26:61 Que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y en tres días reedificarlo.

26:61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

26:62 Y levantándose el pontífice, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿qué testifican éstos contra ti?

26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you?

26:63 Mas Jesús callaba. Respondiendo el pontífice, le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas si eres tú el Cristo, Hijo de Dios.

26:63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God.

26:64 Jesús le dijo: Tú lo has dicho: y aun os digo, que desde ahora habéis de ver al Hijo de los hombres sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y que viene en las nubes del cielo.

26:64 Jesus says unto him, You have said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall all of you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

26:65 Entonces el pontífice rasgó sus vestidos, diciendo: Blasfemado ha: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora habéis oído su blasfemia.

26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now all of you have heard his blasphemy.

26:66 ¿Qué os parece? Y respondiendo ellos, dijeron: Culpado es de muerte.

26:66 What think all of you? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

26:67 Entonces le escupieron en el rostro, y le dieron de bofetadas; y otros le herían con mojicones,

26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others stroke him with the palms of their hands,

26:68 Diciendo: Profetízanos tú, Cristo, quién es el que te ha herido.

26:68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, you Christ, Who is he that stroke you?

26:69 Y Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el patio: y se llegó á él una criada, diciendo: Y tú con Jesús el Galileo estabas.

26:69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.

26:70 Mas él negó delante de todos, diciendo: No sé lo que dices.

26:70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what you says.

26:71 Y saliendo él á la puerta, le vió otra, y dijo á los que estaban allí: También éste estaba con Jesús Nazareno.

26:71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

26:72 Y nego otra vez con juramento: No conozco al hombre.

26:72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

26:73 Y un poco después llegaron los que estaban por allí, y dijeron á Pedro: Verdaderamente también tú eres de ellos, porque aun tu habla te hace manifiesto.

26:73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrayed you.

26:74 Entonces comienzó á hacer imprecaciones, y á jurar, diciendo: No conozco al hombre. Y el gallo cantó luego.

26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

26:75 Y se acordó Pedro de las palabras de Jesús, que le dijo: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliéndose fuera, lloró amargamente.

26:75 And Peter remembered the word (o. rhema) of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

27:1 Y VENIDA la mañana, entraron en consejo todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos del pueblo, contra Jesús, para entregarle á muerte.

27:1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

27:2 Y le llevaron atado, y le entregaron á Poncio Pilato presidente.

27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

27:3 Entonces Judas, el que le había entregado, viendo que era condenado, volvió arrepentido las treinta piezas de plata á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los ancianos,

27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

27:4 Diciendo: Yo he pecado entregando la sangre inocente. Mas ellos dijeron: ¿Qué se nos da á nosotros? Viéras lo tú.

27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see you to that.

27:5 Y arrojando las piezas de plata en el templo, partióse; y fué, y se ahorcó.

27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

27:6 Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, tomando las piezas de plata, dijeron: No es lícito echarlas en el tesoro de los dones, porque es precio de sangre.

27:6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful in order to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

27:7 Mas habido consejo, compraron con ellas el campo del alfarero, por sepultura para los extranjeros.

27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

27:8 Por lo cual fué llamado aquel campo, Campo de sangre, hasta el día de hoy.

27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

27:9 Entonces se cumplió lo que fué dicho por el profeta Jeremías, que dijo: Y tomaron las treinta piezas de plata, precio del apreciado, que fué apreciado por los hijos de Israel;

27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

27:10 Y las dieron para el campo del alfarero, como me ordenó el Señor.

27:10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

27:11 Y Jesús estuvo delante del presidente; y el presidente le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos? Y Jesús le dijo: Tú lo dices.

27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Are you the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, You says.

27:12 Y siendo acusado por los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y por los ancianos, nada respondió.

27:12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

27:13 Pilato entonces le dice: ¿No oyes cuántas cosas testifican contra tí?

27:13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hear you not how many things they witness against you?

27:14 Y no le respondió ni una palabra; de tal manera que el presidente se maravillaba mucho,

27:14 And he answered him to not a word; (o. rhema) insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

27:15 Y en el día de la fiesta acostumbraba el presidente soltar al pueblo un preso, cual quisiesen.

27:15 Now at that feast the governor was known to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

27:16 Y tenían entonces un preso famoso que se llamaba Barrabás.

27:16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

27:17 Y juntos ellos, les dijo Pilato; ¿Cuál queréis que os suelte? ¿á Barrabás ó á Jesús que se dice el Cristo?

27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will all of you that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

27:18 Porque sabía que por envidia le habían entregado.

27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

27:19 Y estando él sentado en el tribunal, su mujer envió á él, diciendo: No tengas que ver con aquel justo; porque hoy he padecido muchas cosas en sueños por causa de él.

27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have you nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

27:20 Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos, persuadieron al pueblo que pidiese á Barrabás, y á Jesús matase.

27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

27:21 Y respondiendo el presidente les dijo: ¿Cuál de los dos queréis que os suelte? Y ellos dijeron: á Barrabás.

27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the two will all of you that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

27:22 Pilato les dijo: ¿Qué pues haré de Jesús que se dice el Cristo? Dícenle todos: Sea crucificado.

27:22 Pilate says unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

27:23 Y el presidente les dijo: Pues ¿qué mal ha hecho? Mas ellos gritaban más, diciendo: Sea crucificado.

27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

27:24 Y viendo Pilato que nada adelantaba, antes se hacía más alboroto, tomando agua se lavó las manos delante del pueblo, diciendo: Inocente soy yo de la sangre de este justo veréis lo vosotros.

27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see all of you to it.

27:25 Y respondiendo todo el pueblo, dijo: Su sangre sea sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros hijos.

27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

27:26 Entonces les soltó á Barrabás: y habiendo azotado á Jesús, le entregó para ser crucificado.

27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

27:27 Entonces los soldados del presidente llevaron á Jesús al pretorio, y juntaron á él toda la cuadrilla;

27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

27:28 Y desnudándole, le echaron encima un manto de grana;

27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

27:29 Y pusieron sobre su cabeza una corona tejida de espinas, y una caña en su mano derecha; é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le burlaban, diciendo: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos!

27:29 And when they had intertwined a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

27:30 Y escupiendo en él, tomaron la caña, y le herían en la cabeza.

27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and stroke him on the head.

27:31 Y después que le hubieron escarnecido, le desnudaron el manto, y le vistieron de sus vestidos, y le llevaron para crucificarle.

27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

27:32 Y saliendo, hallaron á un Cireneo, que se llamaba Simón: á éste cargaron para que llevase su cruz.

27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

27:33 Y como llegaron al lugar que se llamaba Gólgotha, que es dicho, El lugar de la calavera,

27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

27:34 Le dieron á beber vinagre mezclado con hiel: y gustando, no quiso beber lo

27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

27:35 Y después que le hubieron crucificado, repartieron sus vestidos, echando suertes: para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta: Se repartieron mis vestidos, y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes.

27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

27:36 Y sentados le guardaban allí.

27:36 And sitting down they watched him there;

27:37 Y pusieron sobre su cabeza su causa escrita: ESTE ES JESUS EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27:38 Entonces crucificaron con él dos ladrones, uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

27:39 Y los que pasaban, le decían injurias, meneando sus cabezas,

27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

27:40 Y diciendo: Tú, el que derribas el templo, y en tres días lo reedificas, sálvate á ti mismo: si eres Hijo de Dios, desciende de la cruz.

27:40 And saying, You that destroys the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

27:41 De esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes, escarneciendo con los escribas y los Fariseos y los ancianos, decían:

27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

27:42 á otros salvó, á sí mismo no puede salvar: si es el Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, y creeremos en él.

27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

27:43 Confió en Dios: líbrele ahora si le quiere: porque ha dicho: Soy Hijo de Dios.

27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

27:44 Lo mismo también le zaherían los ladrones que estaban crucificados con él.

27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

27:45 Y desde la hora de sexta fueron tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.

27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

27:46 Y cerca de la hora de nona, Jesús exclamó con grande voz, diciendo: Eli, Eli, ¿lama sabachtani? Esto es: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?

27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

27:47 Y algunos de los que estaban allí, oyéndolo, decían: A Elías llama éste.

27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calls for Elijah.

27:48 Y luego, corriendo uno de ellos, tomó una esponja, y la hinchió de vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, dábale de beber.

27:48 And immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

27:49 Y los otros decían: Deja, veamos si viene Elías á librarle.

27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.

27:50 Mas Jesús, habiendo otra vez exclamado con grande voz, dió el espíritu.

27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the spirit. (o. pneuma)

27:51 Y he aquí, el velo del templo se rompió en dos, de alto á bajo: y la tierra tembló, y las piedras se hendieron;

27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

27:52 Y abriéronse los sepulcros, y muchos cuerpos de santos que habían dormido, se levantaron;

27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

27:53 Y salidos de los sepulcros, después de su resurrección, vinieron á la santa ciudad, y aparecieron á muchos.

27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

27:54 Y el centurión, y los que estaban con él guardando á Jesús, visto el terremoto, y las cosas que habían sido hechas, temieron en gran manera, diciendo: Verdaderamente Hijo de Dios era éste.

27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

27:55 Y estaban allí muchas mujeres mirando de lejos, las cuales habían seguido de Galilea á Jesús, sirviéndole:

27:55 And many women were there beholding far off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

27:56 Entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo y de José, y la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo.

27:56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.

27:57 Y como fué la tarde del día, vino un hombre rico de Arimatea, llamado José, el cual también había sido discípulo de Jesús.

27:57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

27:58 Este llegó á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús: entonces Pilato mandó que se le diese el cuerpo.

27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

27:59 Y tomando José el cuerpo, lo envolvió en una sábana limpia,

27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

27:60 Y lo puso en su sepulcro nuevo, que había labrado en la peña: y revuelta una grande piedra á la puerta del sepulcro, se fué.

27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.

27:61 Y estaban allí María Magdalena, y la otra María, sentadas delante del sepulcro.

27:61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting opposite to the tomb.

27:62 Y el siguiente día, que es después de la preparación, se juntaron los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los Fariseos á Pilato,

27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

27:63 Diciendo: Señor, nos acordamos que aquel engañador dijo, viviendo aún: Después de tres días resucitaré.

27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

27:64 Manda, pues, que se asegure el sepulcro hasta el día tercero; porque no vengan sus discípulos de noche, y le hurten, y digan al pueblo: Resucitó de los muertos. Y será el postrer error peor que el primero.

27:64 Command therefore that the tomb be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He has risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

27:65 Y Pilato les dijo: Tenéis una guardia: id, aseguradlo como sabéis.

27:65 Pilate said unto them, All of you have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as all of you can.

27:66 Y yendo ellos, aseguraron el sepulcro, sellando la piedra, con la guardia.

27:66 So they went, and made the tomb sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

Matthew / MATEO

28:1 Y LA víspera de sábado, que amanece para el primer día de la semana, vino María Magdalena, y la otra María, á ver el sepulcro.

28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the tomb.

28:2 Y he aquí, fué hecho un gran terremoto: porque el ángel del Señor, descendiendo del cielo y llegando, había revuelto la piedra, y estaba sentado sobre ella.

28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

28:3 Y su aspecto era como un relámpago, y su vestido blanco como la nieve.

28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

28:4 Y de miedo de él los guardas se asombraron, y fueron vueltos como muertos.

28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

28:5 Y respondiendo el ángel, dijo á las mujeres: No temáis vosotras; porque yo sé que buscáis á Jesús, que fué crucificado.

28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not all of you: for I know that all of you seek Jesus, which was crucified.

28:6 No está aquí; porque ha resucitado, como dijo. Venid, ved el lugar donde fué puesto el Señor.

28:6 He is not here: for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

28:7 E id presto, decid á sus discípulos que ha resucitado de los muertos: y he aquí va delante de vosotros á Galilea; allí le veréis; he aquí, os lo he dicho.

28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there shall all of you see him: lo, I have told you.

28:8 Entonces ellas, saliendo del sepulcro con temor y gran gozo, fueron corriendo á dar las nuevas á sus discípulos. Y mientras iban á dar las nuevas á sus discípulos,

28:8 And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

28:9 He aquí, Jesús les sale al encuentro, diciendo: Salve. Y ellas se llegaron y abrazaron sus pies, y le adoraron.

28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

28:10 Entonces Jesús les dice: No temáis: id, dad las nuevas á mis hermanos, para que vayan á Galilea, y allí me verán.

28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

28:11 Y yendo ellas, he aquí unos de la guardia vinieron á la ciudad, y dieron aviso á los príncipes de los sacerdotes de todas las cosas que habían acontecido.

28:11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

28:12 Y juntados con los ancianos, y habido consejo, dieron mucho dinero á los soldados,

28:12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

28:13 Diciendo: Decid: Sus discípulos vinieron de noche, y le hurtaron, durmiendo nosotros.

28:13 Saying, Say all of you, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

28:14 Y si esto fuere oído del presidente, nosotros le persuadiremos, y os haremos seguros.

28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

28:15 Y ellos, tomando el dinero, hicieron como estaban instruídos: y este dicho fué divulgado entre los Judíos hasta el día de hoy.

28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying (o. logos) is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

28:16 Mas los once discípulos se fueron á Galilea, al monte donde Jesús les había ordenado.

28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

28:17 Y como le vieron, le adoraron: mas algunos dudaban.

28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

28:18 Y llegando Jesús, les habló, diciendo: Toda potestad me es dada en el cielo y en la tierra.

28:18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

28:19 Por tanto, id, y doctrinad á todos los Gentiles, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo:

28:19 Go all of you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: (o. pneuma)

28:20 Enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os he mandado: y he aquí, yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo. Amén.

28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
