Phi e ro - 1 Peter

1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

1:1 Phi -e-rô, söù ñoà cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, gôûi cho nhöõng ngöôøi kieàu nguï raûi raùc trong xöù Boâng, Ga-la-ti, Caùp-ba-ñoác, A-si vaø Bi-thi-ni, laø nhöõng ngöôøi ñöôïc choïn,

1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

1:2 theo söï bieát tröôùc cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, laø Ñöùc Chuùa Cha, vaø ñöôïc neân thaùnh bôûi Ñöùc Thaùnh Linh, ñaëng vaâng phuïc Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ vaø coù phaàn trong söï raûi huyeát Ngaøi: nguyeàn xin aân ñieån vaø bình an theâm leân cho anh em!

1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1:3 Ngôïi khen Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, laø Cha Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ chuùng ta, Ngaøi laáy loøng thöông xoùt caû theå khieán chuùng ta laïi sanh, ñaëng chuùng ta nhôø söï Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ soáng laïi töø trong keû cheát maø coù söï troâng caäy soáng,

1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you,

1:4 laø cô nghieäp khoâng hö ñi, khoâng oâ ueá, khoâng suy taøn, ñeå daønh trong caùc töøng trôøi cho anh em,

1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1:5 laø keû bôûi ñöùc tin nhôø quyeàn pheùp cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi giöõ cho, ñeå ñöôïc söï cöùu roãi gaàn hieän ra trong kyø sau roát!

1:6 Wherein all of you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, all of you are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

1:6 Anh em vui möøng veà ñieàu ñoù, daàu hieän nay anh em vì söï thöû thaùch traêm beà buoäc phaûi buoàn baõ ít laâu;

1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

1:7 haàu cho söï thöû thaùch ñöùc tin anh em quí hôn vaøng hay hö naùt, daàu ñaõ bò thöû löûa, sanh ra ngôïi khen, toân troïng, vinh hieån cho anh em khi Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ hieän ra.

1:8 Whom having not seen, all of you love; in whom, though now all of you see him not, yet believing, all of you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

1:8 Ngaøi laø Ñaáng anh em khoâng thaáy maø yeâu meán; daàu baây giôø anh em khoâng thaáy Ngaøi, nhöng tin Ngaøi, vaø vui möøng laém moät caùch khoâng xieát keå vaø vinh hieån:

1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

1:9 nhaän ñöôïc phaàn thöôûng veà ñöùc tin anh em, laø söï cöùu roãi linh hoàn mình.

1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

1:10 Veà söï cöùu roãi ñoù, caùc ñaáng tieân tri ñaõ tìm toøi suy xeùt, vaø ñaõ noùi tieân tri veà aân ñieån ñònh saün cho anh em:

1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit (o. pneuma) of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

1:11 nghóa laø tìm cho bieát thôøi kyø naøo vaø thôøi kyø caùch naøo maø Thaùnh Linh Ñaáng Christ ôû trong loøng mình ñaõ chæ cho, laø khi laøm chöùng tröôùc veà söï ñau ñôùn cuûa Ñaáng Christ vaø veà söï vinh hieån seõ theo sau.

1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

1:12 Caùc ñaáng aáy ñaõ ñöôïc toû cho raèng chaúng phaûi vì mình, beøn laø vì anh em maø truyeàn ra nhöõng ñieàu ñoù, laø nhöõng ñieàu hieän nay ñaõ rao cho anh em, bôûi nhöõng ngöôøi nhôø Ñöùc Thaùnh Linh töø treân trôøi sai xuoáng, maø giaûng Tin Laønh cho anh em; caùc thieân söù cuõng öôùc ao xem thaáu nhöõng söï ñoù.

1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1:13 Vaäy, anh em haõy beàn chí nhö theå thaét löng, haõy tieát ñoä, laáy söï troâng caäy troïn veïn ñôïi chôø ôn seõ ban cho mình trong khi Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ hieän ra.

1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1:14 Anh em ñaõ neân nhö con caùi hay vaâng lôøi, thì chôù coù laøm theo söï daâm duïc, laø söï cai trò trong anh em ngaøy tröôùc, veà luùc anh em coøn meâ muoäi.

1:15 But as he which has called you is holy, so be all of you holy in all manner of conversation;

1:15 Nhöng, nhö Ñaáng goïi anh em laø thaùnh, thì anh em cuõng phaûi thaùnh trong moïi caùch aên ôû mình,

1:16 Because it is written, Be all of you holy; for I am holy.

1:16 bôûi coù cheùp raèng: Haõy neân thaùnh, vì ta laø thaùnh.

1:17 And if all of you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

1:17 Neáu anh em xöng Ñaáng khoâng taây vò anh em, xeùt ñoaùn töøng ngöôøi theo vieäc hoï laøm, baèng Cha, thì haõy laáy loøng kính sôï maø aên ôû trong thôøi kyø ôû troï ñôøi naày,

1:18 Forasmuch as all of you know that all of you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

1:18 vì bieát raèng chaúng phaûi bôûi vaät hay hö naùt nhö baïc hoaëc vaøng maø anh em ñaõ ñöôïc chuoäc khoûi söï aên ôû khoâng ra chi cuûa toå tieân truyeàn laïi cho mình,

1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1:19 beøn laø bôûi huyeát baùu Ñaáng Christ, döôøng nhö huyeát cuûa chieân con khoâng loãi khoâng vít,

1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

1:20 ñaõ ñònh saün tröôùc buoåi saùng theá, vaø hieän ra trong cuoái caùc thôøi kyø vì côù anh em,

1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

1:21 laø keû nhôn Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus tin ñeán Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, töùc laø Ñaáng ñaõ khieán Ngaøi töø keû cheát soáng laïi, vaø ban söï vinh hieån cho Ngaøi ñeán noãi ñöùc tin vaø söï troâng caäy anh em ñöôïc nöông nhôø Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

1:22 Seeing all of you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit (o. pneuma) unto sincere love of the brethren, see that all of you love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1:22 Anh em ñaõ vaâng theo leõ thaät laøm saïch loøng mình, ñaëng coù loøng yeâu thöông anh em caùch thaät thaø, neân haõy yeâu nhau soát saéng heát loøng;

1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word (o. logos) of God, which lives and abides for ever.

1:23 anh em ñaõ ñöôïc laïi sanh, chaúng phaûi bôûi gioáng hay hö naùt, nhöng bôûi gioáng chaúng hay hö naùt, laø bôûi lôøi haèng soáng vaø beàn vöõng cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:

1:24 Vì, Moïi xaùc thòt vì nhö coû, Moïi söï vinh hieån cuûa noù vì nhö hoa coû. Coû khoâ, hoa ruïng,

1:25 But the word (o. rhema) of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word (o. rhema) which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1:25 Nhöng lôøi Chuùa coøn laïi ñôøi ñôøi. Vaø lôøi ñoù laø ñaïo Tin Laønh ñaõ giaûng ra cho anh em.

 Phi e ro - 1 Peter

2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speaking,

2:1 Vaäy anh em ñaõ töø boû moïi ñieàu ñoäc aùc, moïi ñieàu gian daûo, moïi thöù giaû traù, loøng ghen gheùt vaø söï noùi haønh,

2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that all of you may grow thereby:

2:2 thì haõy ham thích söõa thieâng lieâng cuûa ñaïo, nhö treû con môùi ñeû vaäy, haàu cho anh em nhôø ñoù lôùn leân maø ñöôïc roãi linh hoàn,

2:3 If so be all of you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

2:3 neáu anh em ñaõ neám bieát Chuùa laø ngoït ngaøo.

2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

2:4 Haõy ñeán gaàn Ngaøi, laø hoøn ñaù soáng, bò ngöôøi ta loaïi ra, song ñöôïc choïn vaø quí tröôùc maët Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi,

2:5 All of you also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

2:5 vaø anh em cuõng nhö ñaù soáng, ñöôïc xaây neân nhaø thieâng lieâng, laøm chöùc teá leã thaùnh, ñaëng daâng cuûa teá leã thieâng lieâng, nhôø Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ maø ñeïp yù Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.

2:6 Vì trong Kinh Thaùnh coù cheùp raèng: Naày, ta ñaët taïi Si-oân hoøn ñaù goùc nhaø ñaõ choïn löïa vaø quí baùu; Ai tin ñeán ñaù aáy seõ khoâng bò xaáu hoå.

2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

2:7 Vaäy neân, cho anh em laø keû ñaõ tin, thì laø ñaù quí; nhöng cho nhöõng keû khoâng tin, thì Hoøn ñaù maø bò thôï xaây nhaø loaïi ra, Beøn trôû neân ñaù goùc nhaø, laø Ñaù gaây cho vaáp vaùp, laø ñaù lôùn laøm cho sa ngaõ;

2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, (o. logos) being disobedient: unto which also they were appointed.

2:8 hoï bò vaáp ñaù ñoù, vì khoâng vaâng phuïc Ñaïo, vaø ñieàu aáy ñaõ ñònh saün cho hoï roài.

2:9 But all of you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, an exclusive people; that all of you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

2:9 Nhöng anh em laø doøng gioáng ñöôïc löïa choïn, laø chöùc thaày teá leã nhaø vua, laø daân thaùnh laø daân thuoäc veà Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, haàu cho anh em rao giaûng nhôn ñöùc cuûa Ñaáng ñaõ goïi anh em ra khoûi nôi toái taêm, ñeán nôi saùng laùng laï luøng cuûa Ngaøi;

2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

2:10 anh em ngaøy tröôùc khoâng phaûi laø moät daân, maø baây giôø laø daân Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, tröôùc khoâng ñöôïc thöông xoùt, maø baây giôø ñöôïc thöông xoùt.

2:11 Dearly beloved, I plead to you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

2:11 Hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, anh em nhö ngöôøi ôû troï, keû ñi ñöôøng, toâi khuyeân phaûi kieâng nhöõng ñieàu xaùc thòt öa thích, laø ñieàu choáng traû vôùi linh hoàn.

2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

2:12 phaûi aên ôû ngay laønh giöõa daân ngoaïi, haàu cho hoï laø keû vaãn gieøm cheâ anh em nhö ngöôøi gian aùc, ñaõ thaáy vieäc laønh anh em, thì ñeán ngaøy Chuùa thaêm vieáng, hoï ngôïi khen Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

2:13 Vì côù Chuùa, haõy phuïc theo moïi pheùp taéc loaøi ngöôøi laäp leân, hoaëc vua, nhö ñaáng raát cao,

2:14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

2:14 hoaëc caùc quan, nhö ngöôøi vua sai ra ñeå phaït keû laøm döõ vaø khen ngöôøi laøm laønh.

2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing all of you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

2:15 Vì anh em laøm ñieàu laønh ñeå ngaên mieäng nhöõng keû ngu muoäi daïi doät, aáy laø yù muoán cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a coat of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

2:16 Haõy aên ôû nhö ngöôøi töï do, nhöng chôù duøng töï do laøm caùi maøn che söï hung aùc, song phaûi coi mình laø toâi moïi Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

2:17 Haõy kính moïi ngöôøi; yeâu anh em; kính sôï Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi; toân troïng vua.

2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse.

2:18 Hôõi keû laøm toâi tôù, haõy laáy loøng raát kính sôï maø phuïc theo chuû mình, chaúng nhöõng phuïc nhöõng chuû hieàn laønh maø thoâi, laïi phaûi phuïc ngöôøi chuû khoù taùnh nöõa.

2:19 For this deserves giving of thanks, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

2:19 Vì nhôn côù löông taâm ñoái vôùi Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, maø chòu khoán naïn trong khi bò oan öùc, aáy laø moät ôn phöôùc.

2:20 For what glory is it, if, when all of you be buffeted for your faults, all of you shall take it patiently? but if, when all of you do well, and suffer for it, all of you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

2:20 Vaû, mình laøm ñieàu aùc, bò ñaùnh maø hay nhòn chòu, thì coù ñaùng khoe gì: Nhöng neáu anh em laøm laønh, maø nhòn chòu söï khoán khoù, aáy laø moät ôn phöôùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

2:21 For even hereunto were all of you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that all of you should follow his steps:

2:21 anh em ñaõ ñöôïc keâu goïi ñeán söï ñoù, vì Ñaáng Christ cuõng ñaõ chòu khoå cho anh em, ñeå laïi cho anh em moät göông, haàu cho anh em noi daáu chôn Ngaøi;

2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

2:22 Ngaøi chöa heà phaïm toäi, trong mieäng Ngaøi khoâng thaáy coù chuùt chi doái traù;

2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:

2:23 Ngaøi bò ruûa maø chaúng ruûa laïi, chòu naïn maø khoâng heà ngaêm doïa, nhöng cöù phoù mình cho Ñaáng xöû ñoaùn coâng bình;

2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes all of you were healed.

2:24 Ngaøi gaùnh toäi loãi chuùng ta trong thaân theå Ngaøi treân caây goã, haàu cho chuùng ta laø keû ñaõ cheát veà toäi loãi, ñöôïc soáng cho söï coâng bình; laïi nhôn nhöõng laèn ñoøn cuûa Ngaøi maø anh em ñaõ ñöôïc laønh bònh.

2:25 For all of you were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

2:25 Vì anh em voán gioáng nhö con chieân laïc, maø baây giôø ñaõ trôû veà cuøng Ñaáng chaên chieân vaø Giaùm muïc cuûa linh hoàn mình.

 Phi e ro - 1 Peter

3:1 Likewise, all of you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, (o. logos) they also may without the word (o. logos) be won by the conversation of the wives;

3:1 Hôõi ngöôøi laøm vôï, haõy phuïc choàng mình, haàu cho neáu coù ngöôøi choàng naøo khoâng vaâng theo Ñaïo, daãu chaúng laáy lôøi khuyeân baûo, chæ bôûi caùch aên ôû cuûa vôï, cuõng ñuû hoùa theo,

3:2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with (o. rhema) fear.

3:2 vì thaáy caùch aên ôû cuûa chò em laø tinh saïch vaø cung kính.

3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

3:3 Chôù tìm kieám söï trang söùc beà ngoaøi, nhö gioùc toùc, ñeo ñoà vaøng, maëc aùo quaàn loøa loeït;

3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, (o. pneuma) which is in the sight of God of great price.

3:4 nhöng haõy tìm kieám söï trang söùc beà trong giaáu ôû trong loøng, töùc laø söï tinh saïch chaúng hö naùt cuûa taâm thaàn dòu daøng im laëng, aáy laø giaù quí tröôùc maët Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

3:5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

3:5 Vì caùc baø thaùnh xöa kia, troâng caäy Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, vaâng phuïc choàng mình, ñeàu trau gioài mình döôøng aáy;

3:6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters all of you are, as long as all of you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

3:6 nhö Sa-ra vaâng phuïc Aùp-ra-ham, goïi ngöôøi laø Chuùa mình; neáu caùc chò em laøm ñieàu laønh, khoâng sôï chi heát maø roái trí, thì trôû neân con gaùi cuûa Sa-ra vaäy.

3:7 Likewise, all of you husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

3:7 Hôõi ngöôøi laøm choàng, haõy toû ñieàu khoân ngoan ra trong söï aên ôû vôùi vôï mình, nhö laø vôùi gioáng yeáu ñuoái hôn; vì hoï seõ cuøng anh em höôûng phöôùc söï soáng, neân phaûi kính neå hoï, haàu cho khoâng ñieàu gì laøm roái loaïn söï caàu nguyeän cuûa anh em.

3:8 Finally, be all of you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

3:8 Roát laïi, heát thaûy anh em phaûi ñoàng loøng ñaày thöông xoùt vaø tình yeâu anh em, coù loøng nhôn töø vaø ñöùc khieâm nhöôøng.

3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that all of you are thereunto called, that all of you should inherit a blessing.

3:9 Ñöøng laáy aùc traû aùc, cuõng ñöøng laáy ruûa saû traû ruûa saû; traùi laïi phaûi chuùc phöôùc, aáy vì ñieàu ñoù maø anh em ñöôïc goïi ñeå höôûng phöôùc laønh.

3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

3:10 Vaû, Ai muoán yeâu söï soáng Vaø thaáy ngaøy toát laønh, Thì phaûi giöõ gìn mieäng löôõi, Ñöøng noùi ñieàu aùc vaø lôøi gian daûo;

3:11 Let him shun evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it.

3:11 Phaûi laùnh ñieàu döõ, laøm ñieàu laønh, Tìm söï hoøa bình maø ñuoåi theo,

3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

3:12 Vì maét Chuùa ñoaùi troâng ngöôøi coâng bình, Tai Ngaøi loùng nghe lôøi caàu nguyeän ngöôøi, Nhöng maët Chuùa saáp laïi nghòch vôùi keû laøm aùc.

3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if all of you be followers of that which is good?

3:13 Ví baèng anh em soát saéng laøm laønh thì coù ai laøm döõ laïi cho anh em?

3:14 But and if all of you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are all of you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

3:14 Neáu anh em phaûi vì söï coâng bình maø chòu khoå, aáy thaät laø coù phöôùc. Chôù sôï ñieàu hoï sôï vaø ñöøng roái trí;

3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason (o. logos) of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

3:15 nhöng haõy toân Ñaáng Christ, laø Chuùa, laøm thaùnh trong loøng mình. Haõy thöôøng thöôøng saün saøng ñeå traû lôøi moïi keû hoûi leõ veà söï troâng caäy trong anh em, song phaûi hieàn hoøa vaø kính sôï,

3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

3:16 phaûi coù löông taâm toát, haàu cho nhöõng keû gieøm cheâ caùch aên ôû laønh cuûa anh em trong Ñaáng Christ bieát mình xaáu hoå trong söï maø anh em ñaõ bò noùi haønh;

3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that all of you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

3:17 vì neáu yù muoán Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi döôøng aáy, thì thaø laøm ñieàu thieän maø chòu khoå, coøn hôn laøm ñieàu aùc maø chòu khoå vaäy.

3:18 For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (o. pneuma)

3:18 Vaû, Ñaáng Christ cuõng vì toäi loãi chòu cheát moät laàn, laø Ñaáng coâng bình thay cho keû khoâng coâng bình, ñeå daãn chuùng ta ñeán cuøng Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi; veà phaàn xaùc thòt thì Ngaøi ñaõ chòu cheát, nhöng veà phaàn linh hoàn thì ñöôïc soáng.

3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits (o. pneuma) in prison;

3:19 Aáy bôûi ñoàng moät linh hoàn ñoù, Ngaøi ñi giaûng cho caùc linh hoàn bò tuø,

3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

 Phi e ro - 1 Peter

4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;

4:1 Vaäy, vì Ñaáng Christ ñaõ chòu khoå trong xaùc thòt, thì anh em cuõng phaûi laáy söï ñoù laøm giaùp truï, vì ngöôøi naøo ñaõ chòu khoå trong xaùc thòt, thì ñaõ döùt khoûi toäi loãi,

4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

4:2 haàu cho coøn soáng trong xaùc thòt bao laâu thì chôù laïi theo nhöõng söï ngöôøi ta öa thích, moät phaûi theo yù muoán Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

4:3 Ngaøy tröôùc cuõng ñaõ ñuû laøm theo yù muoán ngöôøi ngoaïi ñaïo roài, maø aên ôû theo taø tòch, tö duïc, say röôïu, aên uoáng quaù ñoä, chôi bôøi, vaø thôø hình töôïng ñaùng gôùm ghieác.

4:4 Wherein they think it strange that all of you run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

4:4 Hoï thaáy anh em chaúng cuøng hoï theo söï daâm daät baäy baï aáy, thì hoï laáy laøm laï vaø gieøm cheâ.

4:5 Who shall give account (o. logos) to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

4:5 Nhöng hoï seõ khai trình vôùi Ñaáng ñaõ saün saøng xeùt ñoaùn keû soáng vaø keû cheát.

4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (o. pneuma)

4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be all of you therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

4:7 Söï cuoái cuøng cuûa muoân vaät ñaõ gaàn; vaäy haõy khoân ngoan tænh thöùc maø caàu nguyeän.

4:8 And above all things have fervent love (o. agape) among yourselves: for love (o. agape) shall cover the multitude of sins.

4:8 Nhöùt laø trong voøng anh em phaûi coù loøng yeâu thöông soát saéng; vì söï yeâu thöông che ñaäy voâ soá toäi loãi.

4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

4:9 Ngöôøi naày ngöôøi khaùc phaûi tieáp ñaõi nhau, chôù coù caèn raèn.

4:10 As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

4:11 Ví baèng coù ngöôøi giaûng luaän, thì haõy giaûng nhö rao lôøi saám truyeàn cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi; neáu coù keû laøm chöùc gì, thì haõy laøm nhö nhôø söùc Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ban, haàu cho Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ñöôïc saùng danh trong moïi söï bôûi Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ; laø Ñaáng ñöôïc söï vinh hieån quyeàn pheùp ñôøi ñôøi voâ cuøng. 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

4:12 Hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, khi anh em bò trong loø löûa thöû thaùch, chôù laáy laøm laï nhö mình gaëp moät vieäc khaùc thöôøng.

4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as all of you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, all of you may be glad also with exceeding joy.

4:13 Nhöng anh em coù phaàn trong söï thöông khoù cuûa Ñaáng Christ bao nhieâu, thì haõy vui möøng baáy nhieâu, haàu cho ñeán ngaøy vinh hieån cuûa Ngaøi hieän ra, thì anh em cuõng ñöôïc vui möøng nhaûy nhoùt.

4:14 If all of you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are all of you; for the spirit (o. pneuma) of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

4:14 Ví baèng anh em vì côù danh Ñaáng Christ chòu sæ nhuïc, thì anh em coù phöôùc; vì söï vinh hieån vaø Thaùnh Linh cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ñaäu treân anh em.

4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

4:15 Trong anh em chôù coù ai chòu khoå nhö keû gieát ngöôøi, nhö keû troäm cöôùp, nhö keû hung aùc, nhö keû thaøy lay vieäc ngöôøi khaùc.

4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

4:16 Nhöng neáu coù ai vì laøm tín ñoà Ñaáng Christ maø chòu khoå, thì ñöøng hoå theïn; thaø haõy vì danh aáy ngôïi khen Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi laø hôn.

4:17 For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

4:17 Vì thôøi kyø ñaõ ñeán, laø khi söï phaùn xeùt seõ khôûi töø nhaø Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi; vaû, neáu khôûi töø chuùng ta, thì söï cuoái cuøng cuûa nhöõng keû chaúng vaâng theo Tin Laønh Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi seõ ra theá naøo?

4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

4:18 Laïi neáu ngöôøi coâng bình coøn khoù ñöôïc roãi, thì nhöõng keû nghòch ñaïo vaø coù toäi seõ trôû neân theá naøo?

4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

4:19 Vaäy nhöõng keû chòu khoå theo yù muoán Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, haõy cöù laøm laønh maø phoù linh hoàn mình cho Ñaáng Taïo hoùa thaønh tín.

5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

5:10 But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that all of you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

5:10 Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ban moïi ôn ñaõ goïi anh em ñeán söï vinh hieån ñôøi ñôøi cuûa Ngaøi trong Ñaáng Christ, thì sau khi anh em taïm chòu khoå, chính Ngaøi seõ laøm cho anh em troïn veïn, vöõng vaøng, vaø theâm söùc cho.

5:11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

5:11 Nguyeàn xin quyeàn pheùp veà nôi Ngaøi, ñôøi ñôøi voâ cuøng! A-men.

5:12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein all of you stand.

 Phi e ro - 2 Peter

1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

1:1 Si-moân Phi -e-rô, laøm toâi tôù vaø söù ñoà cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, gôûi cho nhöõng keû caäy söï coâng bình cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi chuùng ta vaø cuûa Cöùu Chuùa laø Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, ñaõ laõnh phaàn ñöùc tin ñoàng quí baùu nhö cuûa chuùng toâi:

1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

1:2 nguyeàn xin aân ñieån vaø söï bình an ñöôïc gia theâm cho anh em bôûi söï nhaän bieát Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi vaø Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus, laø Chuùa chuùng ta!

1:3 According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue:

1:3 Quyeàn pheùp Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ñaõ ban cho chuùng ta moïi ñieàu thuoäc veà söï soáng vaø söï toân kính, khieán chuùng ta bieát Ñaáng laáy vinh hieån vaø nhôn ñöùc maø goïi chuùng ta,

1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these all of you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1:4 vaø bôûi vinh hieån nhôn ñöùc aáy, Ngaøi laïi ban lôøi höùa raát quí raát lôùn cho chuùng ta, haàu cho nhôø ñoù anh em ñöôïc laùnh khoûi söï hö naùt cuûa theá gian bôûi tö duïc ñeán, maø trôû neân ngöôøi döï phaàn boån taùnh Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

1:5 Vaäy neân, veà phaàn anh em, phaûi gaéng heát söùc theâm cho ñöùc tin mình söï nhôn ñöùc, theâm cho nhôn ñöùc söï hoïc thöùc,

1:6 And to knowledge wilful restrain; and to wilful restrain patience; and to patience godliness;

1:6 theâm cho hoïc thöùc söï tieát ñoä, theâm cho tieát ñoä söï nhòn nhuïc, theâm cho nhòn nhuïc söï toân kính,

1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. (o. agape)

1:7 theâm cho toân kính tình yeâu thöông anh em, theâm cho tình yeâu thöông anh em loøng yeâu meán.

1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that all of you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1:8 Vì neáu caùc ñieàu ñoù coù ñuû trong anh em vaø ñaày daãy nöõa, thì aét chaúng ñeå cho anh em ôû döng hoaëc khoâng keát quaû trong söï nhaän bieát Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ chuùng ta ñaâu.

1:9 But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see far off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

1:9 Nhöng ai thieáu nhöõng ñieàu ñoù, thì thaønh ra ngöôøi caän thò, ngöôøi muø; queân haún söï laøm saïch toäi mình ngaøy tröôùc.

1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if all of you do these things, all of you shall never fall:

1:10 Vaäy, hôõi anh em, haõy chuù yù cho chaéc chaén veà söï Chuùa keâu goïi vaø choïn löïa mình. Laøm ñieàu ñoù anh em seõ khoâng heà vaáp ngaõ;

1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

1:11 döôøng aáy, anh em seõ ñöôïc cho vaøo caùch roäng raõi trong nöôùc ñôøi ñôøi cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, laø Chuùa vaø Cöùu Chuùa cuûa chuùng ta.

1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though all of you know them, and be established in the present truth.

1:12 Bôûi vaäy cho neân, daàu anh em bieát roõ raøng vaø chaéc chaén trong leõ thaät hieän ñaây, toâi cuõng seõ nhaéc laïi nhöõng ñieàu ñoù cho anh em chaúng thoâi.

1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

1:13 Nhöng toâi coøn ôû trong nhaø taïm naày bao laâu, thì coi söï laáy lôøi rao baûo maø tænh thöùc anh em, laø boån phaän cuûa toâi vaäy;

1:14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.

1:14 vì toâi bieát toâi phaûi voäi lìa nhaø taïm naày, nhö Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ chuùng ta ñaõ baûo cho toâi.

1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that all of you may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

1:15 Nhöng toâi aân caàn raèng sau khi toâi ñi, anh em coù theå haèng nhôù ñieàu toâi ñaõ noùi.

1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1:16 Vaû, khi chuùng toâi ñaõ laøm cho anh em bieát quyeàn pheùp vaø söï ñeán cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ chuùng ta, thì chaúng phaûi laø theo nhöõng chuyeän kheùo ñaët ñeå, beøn laø chính maét chuùng toâi ñaõ ngoù thaáy söï oai nghieâm Ngaøi.

1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1:17 Vì Ngaøi ñaõ nhaän laõnh söï toân troïng vinh hieån töø nôi Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, Cha Ngaøi, khi Ñaáng toân nghieâm raát cao phaùn cuøng Ngaøi raèng: "Naày laø Con yeâu daáu cuûa ta, ñeïp loøng ta moïi ñöôøng."

1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

1:18 Chính chuùng toâi cuõng töøng nghe tieáng aáy ñeán töø trôøi, luùc chuùng toâi ôû vôùi Ngaøi treân hoøn nuùi thaùnh.

1:19 We have also a more sure word (o. logos) of prophecy; unto which all of you do well that all of you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

1:19 Nhôn ñoù, chuùng toâi cuøng tin lôøi caùc ñaáng tieân tri chaéc chaén hôn, anh em neân chuù yù lôøi ñoù, nhö caùi ñeøn soi saùng trong nôi toái taêm, cho ñeán chöøng naøo ban ngaøy loä ra, vaø sao mai moïc trong loøng anh em.

1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

1:20 Tröôùc heát, phaûi bieát roõ raèng chaúng coù lôøi tieân tri naøo trong Kinh Thaùnh laáy yù rieâng giaûi nghóa ñöôïc.

1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma)

1:21 Vì chaúng heà coù lôøi tieân tri naøo laø bôûi yù moät ngöôøi naøo maø ra, nhöng aáy laø Ngaøi Ñöùc Thaùnh Linh caûm ñoäng maø ngöôøi ta ñaõ noùi bôûi Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

 Phi e ro - 2 Peter

2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2:1 Daàu vaäy, trong daân chuùng cuõng ñaõ coù tieân tri giaû, vaø cuõng seõ coù giaùo sö giaû trong anh em; hoï seõ truyeàn nhöõng ñaïo doái laøm haïi, choái Chuùa ñaõ chuoäc mình, töï mình chuoác laáy söï huûy phaù thình lình.

2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

2:14 caëp maét chuùng noù ñaày söï gian daâm, chuùng noù phaïm toäi khoâng bao giôø chaùn, doã daønh nhöõng ngöôøi khoâng vöõng loøng, chuùng noù coù loøng quen thoùi tham duïc: aáy laø nhöõng con caùi ñaùng ruûa saû.

2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

2:15 chuùng noù ñaõ boû ñöôøng thaúng maø ñi sai laïc theo ñöôøng cuûa Ba-la-am, con trai Boâ-soâ, laø keû tham tieàn coâng cuûa toäi aùc; nhöng ngöôøi bò traùch veà söï phaïm toäi cuûa mình,

2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

2:16 bôûi coù moät con vaät caâm noùi tieáng ngöôøi ta, maø ngaên caám söï ñieân cuoàng cuûa ngöôøi tieân tri ñoù.

2:17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

2:17 Aáy laø nhöõng suoái nöôùc, nhöõng ñaùm maây bò luoàng gioù maïnh ñöa ñi vaø söï toái taêm môø mòt ñaõ ñeå daønh cho chuùng noù.

2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

2:18 Chuùng noù duøng nhöõng lôøi vaên hoa hö ñaûn, ñem nhöõng ñieàu ham muoán cuûa xaùc thòt vaø ñieàu gian daâm maø doã daønh nhöõng keû môùi vöøa traùnh khoûi caùc ngöôøi theo ñöôøng laàm laïc;

2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

2:19 chuùng noù höùa söï töï do cho ngöôøi, maø chính mình thì laøm toâi moïi söï hö naùt; vì coù söï chi ñaõ thaéng hôn ngöôøi, thì ngöôøi laø toâi moïi söï ñoù.

2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2:20 Vaû, chuùng noù bôûi söï nhaän bieát Chuùa vaø Cöùu Chuùa chuùng ta laø Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, maø ñaõ thoaùt khoûi söï oâ ueá cuûa theá gian, roài laïi maéc phaûi vaø suy phuïc nhöõng söï ñoù, thì soá phaän sau cuøng cuûa chuùng noù trôû xaáu hôn luùc ñaàu.

2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2:21 chuùng noù ñaõ bieát ñöôøng coâng bình, roài laïi lui ñi veà lôøi raên thaùnh ñaõ truyeàn cho mình, theá thì thaø raèng khoâng bieát laø hôn.

2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

2:22 Ñaõ xaûy ñeán cho chuùng noù nhö lôøi tuïc ngöõ raèng: Choù lieám laïi ñoà noù ñaõ möûa, heo ñaõ röûa saùch roài, laïi lieân laïc trong vuõng buøn.

 Phi e ro - 2 Peter

3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

3:1 Hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, naày laø thô thöù hai toâi vieát cho anh em. trong thô naày vaø thô kia, toâi tìm caùch laøm cho nhôù laïi ñeå giuïc loøng laønh trong anh em,

3:2 That all of you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3:2 haàu cho ghi laáy lôøi noùi tröôùc cuûa Chuùa vaø Cöùu Chuùa chuùng ta, ñaõ caäy caùc söù ñoà cuûa anh em maø truyeàn laïi.

3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

3:3 Tröôùc heát phaûi bieát raèng, trong nhöõng ngaøy sau roát, seõ coù maáy keû hay gieøm cheâ, duøng lôøi gieãu côït, ôû theo tình duïc rieâng cuûa mình,

3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

3:4 ñeán maø noùi raèng: Chôù naøo lôøi höùa veà söï Chuùa ñeán ôû ñaâu? Vì töø khi toå phuï chuùng ta qua ñôøi roài, muoân vaät vaãn coøn nguyeân nhö luùc baét ñaàu saùng theá.

3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word (o. logos) of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

3:5 Chuùng noù coù yù queân löõng ñi raèng buoåi xöa bôûi lôøi Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi coù caùc töøng trôøi vaø traùi ñaát, ñaát ra töø Nöôùc vaø laøm neân ôû giöõa nöôùc,

3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

3:6 theá gian baáy giôø cuõng bò huûy phaù nhö vaäy, laø bò chìm ñaém bôûi nöôùc luït.

3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word (o. logos) are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

3:7 Nhöng trôøi ñaát thôøi baây giôø cuõng laø bôûi lôøi aáy maø coøn laïi, vaø ñeå daønh cho löûa; löûa seõ ñoát noù ñi trong ngaøy phaùn xeùt vaø huûy phaù keû aùc.

3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

3:8 Hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, chôù neân queân raèng ôû tröôùc maët Chuùa moät ngaøy nhö ngaøn naêm, ngaøn naêm nhö moät ngaøy.

3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

3:9 Chuùa khoâng chaäm treã veà lôøi höùa cuûa Ngaøi nhö maáy ngöôøi kia töôûng ñaâu, nhöng Ngaøi laáy loøng nhòn nhuïc ñoái vôùi anh em, khoâng muoán cho moät ngöôøi naøo cheát maát, song muoán cho moïi ngöôøi ñeàu aên naên.

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

3:10 Song le, ngaøy cuûa Chuùa seõ ñeán nhö keû troäm. Baáy giôø caùc töøng trôøi seõ coù tieáng vang raàm maø qua ñi, caùc theå cheát bò ñoát maø tieâu taùn, ñaát cuøng moïi coâng trình treân noù ñeàu seõ bò ñoát chaùy caû.

3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought all of you to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

3:11 Vì moïi vaät ñoù phaûi tieâu taùn thì anh em ñaùng neân thaùnh vaø toân kính trong moïi söï aên ôû cuûa mình laø döôøng naøo,

3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

3:12 trong khi chôø ñôïi troâng mong cho ngaøy Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi mau ñeán, laø ngaøy caùc töøng trôøi seõ bò ñoát maø tieâu taùn, caùc theå chaát seõ bò thieâu maø tan chaûy ñi!

3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.

3:13 Vaû, theo lôøi höùa cuûa Chuùa, chuùng ta chôø ñôïi trôøi môùi ñaát môùi, laø nôi söï coâng bình aên ôû.

3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that all of you look for such things, be diligent that all of you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

3:14 Vaäy neân, hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, vì anh em troâng ñôïi nhöõng söï ñoù, thì phaûi laøm heát söùc mình, haàu cho Chuùa thaáy anh em ôû bình an, khoâng daáu vít, chaúng choã traùch ñöôïc.

3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you;

3:15 Laïi phaûi nhìn bieát raèng söï nhòn nhuïc laâu daøi cuûa Chuùa chuùng ta coát vì cöùu chuoäc anh em, cuõng nhö Phao loâ, anh raát yeâu daáu cuûa chuùng ta, ñaõ ñem söï khoân ngoan ñöôïc ban cho mình maø vieát thô cho anh em vaäy.

3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable shift, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

3:16 Aáy laø ñieàu ngöôøi ñaõ vieát trong moïi böùc thô, noùi veà nhöõng söï ñoù, ôû trong coù maáy khuùc khoù hieåu, maø nhöõng keû doát naùt vaø tin khoâng quyeát ñem giaûi sai yù nghóa, cuõng nhö hoï giaûi sai veà caùc phaàn Kinh Thaùnh khaùc, chuoác laáy söï hö maát rieâng veà mình.

3:17 All of you therefore, beloved, seeing all of you know these things before, beware lest all of you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

3:17 Hôõi keû raát yeâu daáu, vì anh em ñaõ ñöôïc bieát tröôùc, vaäy haõy giöõ cho caån thaän, e anh em cuõng bò söï meâ hoaëc cuûa nhöõng ngöôøi aùc aáy daãn duï, maát söï vöõng vaøng cuûa mình chaêng.

3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

3:18 Haõy taán tôùi trong aân ñieån vaø trong söï thoâng bieát Chuùa vaø Cöùu Chuùa chuùng ta laø Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ. Nguyeàn xin vinh hieån veà nôi Ngaøi, töø raøy ñeán ñôøi ñôøi! A-men.
