 Gio xue - Joshua

13:1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, You are old and stricken in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

13:1 Gioâ-sueâ ñaõ giaø tuoåi cao, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va beøn phaùn cuøng ngöôøi raèng: Ngöôi ñaõ giaø tuoåi ñaõ cao, phaàn xöù phaûi ñaùnh laáy haõy coøn nhieàu laém.

13:2 This is the land that yet remains: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

13:2 Xöù coøn laïi laø ñaây: heát thaûy mieàn cuûa daân Phi-li-tin, vaø caû ñòa phaän daân Gheâ-su-rít;

13:3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:

13:3 töø soâng Si-coâ ñoái ngang xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, cho ñeán giôùi haïn Eùc-roân veà phía baéc, voán keå laø mieàn Ca-na-an, thuoäc veà naêm vua Phi-li-tin, laø vua Ga-xam vua Aùch-ñoát, vua Aùch-ca-loân, vua Gaùt, vua Eùc-roân vaø vua daân A-vim;

13:4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:

13:4 laïi veà phía nam, caû xöù Ca-na-an vaø Meâ -a-ra, voán thuoäc veà daân Si-ñoân, cho ñeán A-pheùc, cho ñeán giôùi haïn daân A-moâ-rít;

13:5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.

13:5 coøn luoân xöù daân Ghi-beâ-lít, vaø caû Li-ban veà phía maët trôøi moïc, töø Ba-anh-Gaùt ôû döôùi chôn nuùi Heït-moân, cho ñeán nôi vaøo ranh Ha-maùt;

13:6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide you it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

13:6 laïi coøn daân ôû treân nuùi, töø Li-ban cho ñeán Mít-reâ-phoát-Ma-im, töùc laø caùc daân Si-ñoân. Aáy chính ta seõ ñuoåi chuùng noù khoûi tröôùc maët daân Y-sô-ra-eân. Song ngöôi haõy baét thaêm chia xöù naøy cho Y-sô-ra-eân laøm saûn nghieäp, y nhö ta ñaõ truyeàn cho ngöôi.

13:7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

13:7 Vaäy baây giôø, haõy chia xöù naøy cho chín chi phaùi, vaø phaân nöûa chi phaùi Ma-na-se.

13:8 With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;

13:8 Ngöôøi Ru-beân, ngöôøi Gaùt, vaø phaân nöûa chi phaùi Ma-na-se ñaõ laõnh bôûi Moâi-se phaàn saûn nghieäp mình ôû beân kia soâng Gioâ-ñanh veà phía ñoâng, y nhö Moâi-se, toâi tôù Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, ñaõ phaùt cho chuùng noù;

13:9 From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;

13:9 töùc laø xöù töø A-roâ -e ôû treân meù khe Aït-noân vaø thaønh ôû giöõa truõng, cuøng caû xöù ñoàng baèng töï Meâ-ñeâ-ba chí Ñi-boân;

13:10 And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;

13:11 laïi xöù Ga-la-aùt cuøng ñòa phaän daân Gheâ-su-rít vaø daân Ma-ca-thít, khaép nuùi Heït-moân vaø toaøn Ba-san cho ñeán Sanh-ca;

13:12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses strike, and cast them out.

13:12 cuõng ñöôïc toaøn nöôùc vua Oùc trong Ba-san, voán trò vì taïi Aùch-ta-roát vaø Eát-ri -i; ngöôøi laø keû choùt trong daân Reâ-pha-im coøn soùt laïi. Moâi-se ñaùnh baïi vaø ñuoåi chuùng noù ñi.

13:13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.

13:13 Nhöng daân Y-sô-ra-eân khoâng ñuoåi ñi daân Gheâ-su-rít vaø daân Ma-ca-thít. Aáy vaäy, daân Gheâ-su-rít vaø daân Ma-ca-thít coøn ôû giöõa daân Y-sô-ra-eân cho ñeán ngaøy nay.

13:14 Only unto the tribes of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

13:14 Song Moâi-se khoâng phaùt phaàn saûn nghieäp cho chi phaùi Leâ-vi: nhöõng cuûa leã daâng cho Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa Y-sô-ra-eân, aáy laø phaàn saûn nghieäp cuûa chi phaùi ñoù, y nhö Ngaøi ñaõ phaùn cuøng Moâi-se.

13:15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.

13:15 Vaäy, Moâi-se coù phaùt moät phaàn cho chi phaùi Ru-beân tuøy theo hoï haøng cuûa chuùng.

13:16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;

13:18 And Jahaza, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

13:18 Gia-haùt, Keâ-ñeâ-moát, Meâ-phaùt,

13:19 And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley,

13:21 caùc thaønh cuûa xöù ñoàng baèng, toaøn nöôùc Si-hoân, vua daân A-moâ-rít, voán cai trò taïi Heát-boân, maø Moâi-se ñaõ ñaùnh baïi, vôùi quan tröôûng Ma-ñi-an, laø EÂ-vi, Reâ-kem, Xu-rô, vaø Reâ-ba, töùc caùc quan tröôûng laøm chö haàu Si-hoân, vaø ôû trong xöù.

13:22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the fortune teller, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

13:22 Trong nhöõng ngöôøi maø daân Y-sô-ra-eân duøng göôm gieát, thì coù thuaät só Ba-la-am, con trai cuûa Beâ-oâ.

13:23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

13:23 Ñòa phaän ngöôøi Ru-beân coù soâng Gioâ-ñanh laøm giôùi haïn. Ñoù laø saûn nghieäp cuûa ngöôøi Ru-beân, tuøy theo nhöõng hoï haøng, thaønh aáp, vaø laøng xoùm cuûa hoï.

13:24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

13:24 Moâi-se cuõng coù phaùt moät phaàn cho chi phaùi Gaùt, tuøy theo hoï haøng cuûa chuùng.

13:25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

13:25 Ñòa phaän cuûa chi phaùi Gaùt laø Gia-eâ-xe, caùc thaønh Ga-la-aùt, phaân nöûa xöù daân Am-moân, cho ñeán A-roâ -e ñoái ngang Raùp-ba;

13:26 And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

13:26 vaø töø Heát-boân cho ñeán Ra-maùt-Mít-beâ, cuøng Beâ-toâ-nim; ñoaïn töø Ma-ha-na-im cho ñeán bôø coõi Ñeâ-bia.

13:27 Coøn trong truõng thì Beát-Ha-ram, Beát-Nim-ra, Su-coát, vaø Xa-phoân, töùc laø phaàn coøn laïi cuûa nöôùc Si-hoân, vua mieàn Gioâ-ñanh cho ñeán cuoái bieån Ki-neâ-reát taïi beân kia soâng Gioâ-ñanh veà phía ñoâng.

13:28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

13:28 Ñoù laø saûn nghieäp cuûa ngöôøi Gaùt, tuøy theo nhöõng hoï haøng, thaønh aáp, vaø laøng xoùm cuûa hoï.

13:29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

13:29 Moâi-se cuõng coù phaùt moät phaàn cho phaân nöûa chi phaùi Ma-na-se, tuøy theo hoï haøng cuûa chuùng, laø phaàn vaãn coøn thuoäc veà phaân nöûa chi phaùi Ma-na-se.

13:30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:

13:30 Ñòa phaän cuûa hoï laø töø Ma-ha-na-im, toaøn Ba-san, caû nöôùc Oùc, vua Ba-san, vaø caùc thoân Giai-rô trong Ba-san, coù saùu möôi thaønh.

13:31 And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

13:31 Phaân nöûa xöù Ga-la-aùt, Aùch-ta-roát, vaø Eát-ri -i, laø hai thaønh veà nöôùc Oùc taïi Ba-san, ñaõ phaùt cho phaân nöûa con chaùu Ma-ki, chít cuûa Ma-na-se, tuøy theo hoï haøng cuûa chuùng.

13:33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

13:33 Song Moâi-se khoâng phaùt saûn nghieäp cho chi phaùi Leâ-vi, vì Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa Y-sô-ra-eân laø saûn nghieäp cuûa chi phaùi aáy, y nhö Ngaøi ñaõ phaùn cuøng hoï vaäy.

 Gio xue - Joshua

14:1 And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.

14:1 Naày laø caùc phaàn daân Y-sô-ra-eân nhaän laõnh laøm saûn nghieäp trong xöù Ca-na-an, maø thaày teá leã EÂ-leâ -a-sa, Gioâ-sueâ, con trai Nun, vaø caùc tröôûng laõo cuûa nhöõng chi phaùi daân Y-sô-ra-eân phaân phaùt cho.

14:2 By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

14:2 Ngöôøi ta baét thaêm chia xöù cho chín chi phaùi, vaø cho phaân nöûa chi phaùi, y nhö Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ caäy Moâi-se phaùn daën.

14:3 For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.

14:3 Moâi-se ñaõ phaùt cho hai chi phaùi vaø cho phaân nöûa chi phaùi kia phaàn saûn nghieäp ôû beân kia soâng Gioâ-ñanh; nhöng taïi giöõa hoï ngöôøi khoâng phaùt phaàn saûn nghieäp cho chi phaùi Leâ-vi.

14:4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

14:4 Con chaùu Gioâ-seùp phaân laøm hai chi phaùi, laø Ma-na-se vaø Eùp-ra-im; ngöôøi ta khoâng laáy phaàn saûn nghieäp trong xöù maø phaùt cho ngöôøi Leâ-vi, nhöng chæ phaùt maáy thaønh ñaëng ôû, vôùi ñaát chung quanh thaønh, ñeå duøng cho caùc baày suùc vaät vaø taøi saûn cuûa hoï.

14:5 As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.

14:5 Daân Y-sô-ra-eân laøm y theo ñieàu Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn daën Moâi-se maø chia xöù.

14:6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, You know the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and you in Kadeshbarnea.

14:6 Vaû, con chaùu Giu-ña ñeán gaàn Gioâ-sueâ taïi Ghinh ganh, vaø Ca-leùp, con trai Gieâ-phu-neâ, ngöôøi Keâ-nít, noùi cuøng ngöôøi raèng: Oâng bieát ñieàu thuoäc veà toâi vaø oâng maø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn cuøng Moâi-se, ngöôøi cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi, taïi Ca-ñe-Ba-neâ -a.

14:7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to monitor out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

14:7 Khi Moâi-se, toâi tôù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, ôû Ca-ñe-Ba-neâ -a sai toâi ñi doï thaùm xöù, thì toâi ñaõ ñöôïc boán möôi tuoåi; vaø toâi thuaät laïi cho ngöôøi thaät tình.

14:8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.

14:8 Caùc anh em ñoàng ñi leân vôùi toâi laøm cho baù taùnh sôøn loøng; coøn toâi trung thaønh vaâng theo Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa toâi.

14:9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon your feet have trodden shall be yours inheritance, and your children's for ever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.

14:9 Trong ngaøy ñoù, Moâi-se coù theà maø raèng: Quaû thaät ñaát maø chôn ngöôi ñaõ ñaïp ñeán seõ thuoäc veà ngöôi vaø con chaùu ngöôi laøm saûn nghieäp ñôøi ñôøi; vì ngöôi trung thaønh ñaõ vaâng theo Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ta.

14:10 And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spoke this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

14:10 Kìa, trong boán möôi laêm naêm nay, töø khi Ngaøi phaùn lôøi naøy cuøng Moâi-se, ñöông khi Y-sô-ra-eân coøn ñi trong ñoàng vaéng, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ baûo toàn sanh maïng toâi ñeán baây giôø, vaø ngaøy nay toâi ñöôïc taùm möôi laêm tuoåi.

14:11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

14:11 Raøy toâi cuõng coøn maïnh khoûe nhö ngaøy Moâi-se sai toâi ñi; toâi vaãn coøn söùc maø toâi coù hoài ñoù, ñaëng ñi ñaùnh giaëc, hoaëc vaøo ra.

14:12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.

14:12 Vaäy, haõy ban cho toâi nuùi naøy, maø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn ñeán trong ngaøy ñoù; vì baây giôø, oâng ñaõ hay raèng coù daân A-na-kim vaø caùc thaønh lôùn beàn vöõng ôû ñoù. Coù leõ Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va seõ ôû cuøng toâi, vaø toâi seõ ñuoåi chuùng noù ñi, y nhö Ngaøi ñaõ phaùn chaêng.

14:13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

14:13 Gioâ-sueâ beøn chuùc phöôùc cho ngöôøi, vaø ban Heáp-roân cho Ca-leùp, con trai Gieâ-phu-neâ, laøm saûn nghieäp.

14:14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.

14:14 Bôûi côù ñoù, Heáp-roân bò ban cho Ca-leùp, laøm saûn nghieäp cho ñeán ngaøy nay; vì ngöôøi coù trung thaønh vaâng theo Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa Y-sô-ra-eân.

14:15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

14:15 Vaû, khi xöa Heáp-roân goïi laø Ki-ri-aùt -A-ra-ba: A-ra-ba laø ngöôøi gieàng giaøng hôn heát trong daân A-na-kim. Töø ñaây veà sau xöù ñöôïc bình tònh, khoâng coøn giaëc giaõ.

 Gio xue - Joshua

15:1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

15:7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the activities out thereof were at Enrogel:

15:8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

15:9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

15:9 Giôùi haïn naøy chaïy töø choùt nuùi ñeán suoái nöôùc Neùp-thoâ-aùch, vaø aên veà höôùng caùc thaønh cuûa nuùi Eùp-roân; roài ñi luoân ñeán Ba-la, laø Ki-ri-aùt-Gieâ -a-rim.

15:10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

15:12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

17:1 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to know, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

17:1 Ngöôøi ta cuõng baét thaêm cho chi phaùi Ma-na-se, vì ngöôøi laø con ñaàu loøng cuûa Gioâ-seùp. Con Ma-ki, con ñaàu loøng cuûa Ma-na-se, vaø cha cuûa Ga-la-aùt, bôûi ngöôøi laø chieán só, neân coù ñöôïc xöù Ga-la-aùt vaø Ba-san.

17:2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

17:3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

17:3 Vaû, Xeâ-loâ-phaùt, con trai cuûa Heâ-phe, chaùu cuûa Ga-la-aùt, chaét cuûa Ma-ki, chít cuûa Ma-na-se, khoâng coù con trai, chæ coù con gaùi, teân laø Maùch-la, Noâ -a, Hoát-la, Minh-ca, vaø Thieät-sa.

17:4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

17:4 Caùc con gaùi naøy ñeán tröôùc maët thaày teá leã EÂ-leâ -a-sa, tröôùc maët Gioâ-sueâ, con trai Nun, vaø tröôùc maët caùc quan tröôûng, maø noùi raèng: Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn cuøng Moâi-se ban cho chuùng toâi moät phaàn saûn nghieäp trong anh em chuùng toâi. 17:5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

17:5 Vaäy, möôøi phaàn baét thaêm truùng cho Ma-na-se, tröø ra xöù Ga-la-aùt vaø Ba-san ôû beân kia soâng Gioâ-ñanh;

17:6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

17:9 And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the utmost limit of it were at the sea:

17:9 Töø ñoù giôùi haïn chaïy xuoáng phía nam khe Ca-na; caùc thaønh ñoù ôû giöõa caùc thaønh Ma-na-se, ñeàu thuoäc veà Eùp-ra-im. Giôùi haïn Ma-na-se ôû veà phía baéc cuûa khe, vaø giaùp bieån.

17:10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

17:11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

17:11 Trong ñòa phaän Y-sa-ca vaø A-se Ma-na-se cuõng ñöôïc Beát-Seâ-an vaø caùc thaønh ñòa haït, Gíp-leâ-am vaø caùc thaønh ñòa haït, daân cö cuûa Ñoâ-rô vaø caùc thaønh ñòa haït, daân cö cuûa Eân-Ñoâ-rô vaø caùc thaønh ñòa haït, daân cö cuûa Tha-na-aùc vaø caùc thaønh ñòa haït, daân cö cuûa Meâ-ghi-ñoâ, caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, vaø ba caùi ñoàng cao.

17:12 Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

17:12 Con chaùu Ma-na-se chaúng ñuoåi ñöôïc daân caùc thaønh aáy, vì daân Ca-na-an ñònh yù ôû trong xöù ñoù.

17:13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were becoming strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out.

17:13 Nhöng khi daân Y-sô-ra-eân ñaõ ñöôïc cöôøng thaïnh, beøn baét daân Ca-na-an phaûi phuïc dòch; song chaúng ñuoåi chuùng noù ñöôïc heát.

17:14 And the children of Joseph spoke unto Joshua, saying, Why have you given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD has blessed me until now?

17:14 Vaû, con chaùu cuûa Gioâ-seùp noùi cuøng Gioâ-sueâ raèng: Chuùng toâi ñaõ thaønh moät daân ñoâng, vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ ban phöôùc cho chuùng toâi ñeán ngaøy nay; vaäy taïi sao laøm sao oâng ban cho chuùng toâi chæ moät phaàn ñaát laøm saûn nghieäp?

17:15 And Joshua answered them, If you be a great people, then get you up to the wood country, and cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for you.

17:15 Gioâ-sueâ ñaùp: Neáu caùc ngöôi ñoâng nhö vaäy, vaø nuùi Eùp-ra-im raát heïp cho caùc ngöôi, thì haõy leân khai phaù röøng, ñaëng laøm moät choã ôû cho mình trong xöù daân Pheâ-reâ-sít vaø daân Reâ-pha-im.

17:16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

17:16 Nhöng con chaùu Gioâ-seùp ñaùp raèng: Nuùi khoâng ñuû choã cho chuùng toâi; coøn mieàn ñoàng baèng, heát thaûy daân Ca-na-an ôû ñoù, daân Beát-Seâ-an, vaø ngöôøi ôû caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, luoân nhöõng ngöôøi ôû trong truõng Gít-reâ-eân, ñeàu coù thieát xa.

17:17 And Joshua spoke unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You are a great people, and have great power: you shall not have one lot only:

17:17 Gioâ-sueâ beøn noùi cuøng nhaø Gioâ-seùp, töùc laø Eùp-ra-im vaø Ma-na-se, maø raèng: Ngöôi laø moät daân ñoâng, coù söùc lôùn, seõ chaúng laõnh chæ moät phaàn ñaát thoâi;

22:18 Ngaøy nay caùc ngöôi laïi boû Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ö! Vaû, neáu ngaøy nay caùc ngöôi phaûn nghòch cuøng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, ngaøy mai chaéc Ngaøi seõ noåi giaän cuøng caû hoäi chuùng Y-sô-ra-eân.

22:19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass all of you over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwells, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.

22:28 Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.

22:28 Laïi chuùng toâi coù noùi: Khi naøo hoï seõ noùi ñieàu ñoù cuøng chuùng toâi, hay laø noùi cuøng con chaùu sau chuùng toâi, thì chuùng toâi seõ noùi: Haõy xem hình daïng baøn thôø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, maø toå phuï chuùng ta ñaõ laäp, naøo phaûi duøng cho cuûa leã thieâu hay laø daâng hi sinh, nhöng ñeå laøm chöùng giöõa chuùng toâi vaø caùc ngöôi!

22:29 God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for food offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.

24:4 And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

24:4 Ta ban Gia-coáp vaø EÂ-sau cho Y-saùc, roài ban nuùi Seâ -i-rô cho EÂ-sau laøm saûn nghieäp; coøn Gia-coáp vaø caùc con caùi ngöôøi ñeàu ñi xuoáng xöù EÂ-díp-toâ.

24:5 I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: and afterward I brought you out.

24:5 Keá ñoù, ta sai Moâi-se vaø A-roân, duøng caùc pheùp laï laøm ra giöõa xöù EÂ-díp-toâ maø haønh haïi noù; ñoaïn, ta ñem caùc ngöôi ra khoûi ñoù.

24:6 And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and all of you came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.

24:6 Ta beøn ñem toå phuï caùc ngöôi ra khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, vaø caùc ngöôi ñi ñeán bieån. Ngöôøi EÂ-díp-toâ duøng xe binh vaø lính kî maø ñuoåi theo toå phuï caùc ngöôi ñeán Bieån ñoû.

24:7 And when they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and all of you dwelt in the wilderness a long season.

24:7 Baáy giôø, toå phuï caùc ngöôi keâu caàu cuøng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, Ngaøi beøn giaùng söï toái taêm giöõ caùc ngöôi vaø daân REÂ-díp-toâ, daãn nöôùc bieån laáp treân mình chuùng noù, vaø maét caùc ngöôi ñaõ thaáy ñieàu ta ñaõ laøm cho ngöôøi EÂ-díp-toâ; vaø caùc ngöôi coù ôû laâu ngaøy trong ñoáng vaéng.

24:8 And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that all of you might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.

24:8 Keá ñoù, ta daãn caùc ngöôi vaøo xöù daân A-moâ-rít, ôû beân kia soâng Gioâ-ñanh; chuùng noù chieán ñaáu cuøng caùc ngöôi, vaø ta coù phoù chuùng noù vaøo tay caùc ngöôi. Caùc ngöôi chieám xöù chuùng noù laøm saûn nghieäp, vaø ta ñaõ dieät chuùng noù khoûi tröôùc maët caùc ngöôi.

24:9 Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:

24:9 Ba-laùc, con trai Xeáp-boâ, vua Moâ-aùp, choåi daäy chinh chieán vôùi Y-sô-ra-eân, sai ñoøi Ba-la-am, con trai Beâ-oâ, ñaëng ruûa saû caùc ngöôi.

24:10 But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.

24:10 Nhöng ta khoâng muoán nghe Ba-la-am; vì vaäy, ngöôøi buoäc phaûi chuùc phöôùc cho caùc ngöôi, vaø ta giaûi cöùu caùc ngöôi khoûi tay Ba-laùc.

24:11 And you went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.

24:11 Sau khi qua soâng Gioâ-ñanh roài, thì caùc ngöôi ñeán thaønh Gieâ-ri-coâ. Ngöôøi Gieâ-ri-coâ, daân A-moâ-rít, daân Pheâ-reâ-sít, daân Ca-na-an, daân Heâ-tít, daân Ghi-reâ-ga-sít, daân Heâ-vít, vaø daân Gieâ-bu-sít chieán ñaáu cuøng caùc ngöôi vaø ta phoù chuùng noù vaøo tay caùc ngöôi.

24:12 And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with your sword, nor with your bow.

24:12 Ta sai ong loã ñuoåi chuùng noù khoûi tröôùc maët caùc ngöôi, y nhö hai vua daân A-moâ-rít. Aáy chaúng phaûi nhôø göôm ngöôi, cuõng chaúng phaûi nhôø cung ngöôi.

24:13 And I have given you a land for which all of you did not labour, and cities which all of you built not, and all of you dwell in them; of the vineyards and olive yards which all of you planted not do all of you eat.

24:13 Ta ban cho caùc ngöôi ñaát maø caùc ngöôi khoâng coù caøy, nhöõng thaønh maø caùc ngöôi khoâng coù xaây, vaø caùc ngöôi ôû ñoù; nhöõng vöôøn nho vaø caây oâ-li-ve maø caùc ngöôi khoâng coù troàng, ñeå duøng laøm vaät thöïc cho caùc ngöôi.

24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve all of you the LORD.

24:14 Vaäy baây giôø, haõy kính sôï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, vaø phuïc söï Ngaøi caùch thaønh taâm vaø trung tín; haõy boû xa caùc thaàn maø toå phuï caùc ngöôi haàu vieäc beân kia soâng, vaø taïi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ; phaûi phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom all of you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land all of you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

24:15 Neáu chaúng thích cho caùc ngöôi phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, thì ngaøy nay haõy choïn ai maø mình muoán phuïc söï, hoaëc caùc thaàn maø toå phuï caùc ngöôi ñaõ haàu vieäc beân kia soâng, hoaëc caùc thaàn daân A-moâ-rít trong xöù maø caùc ngöôi ôû; nhöng ta vaø nhaø ta seõ phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

24:16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

24:16 Daân söï beøn ñaùp raèng: Chuùng toâi quyeát haún khoâng lìa boû Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va maø haàu vieäc caùc thaàn khaùc!

24:17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:

24:17 Vì Gieâ-hoâ-va laø Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi chuùng toâi; aáy chính Ngaøi ñaõ ñem chuùng toâi vaø toå phuï chuùng toâi leân khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, töùc khoûi nhaø noâ leä; Ngaøi ñaõ laøm tröôùc maët chuùng toâi nhöõng pheùp laï naøy, vaø phuø hoä chuùng toâi, hoaëc troïn doïc ñöôøng ñi, hoaëc trong caùc daân maø chuùng toâi traûi qua.

24:18 And the LORD drove out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.

24:18 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ ñuoåi khoûi tröôùc maët chuùng toâi caùc daân toäc vaø daân A-moâ-rít voán ôû trong xöù; vì vaäy, chuùng toâi cuõng seõ phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, bôûi Ngaøi laø Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa chuùng toâi.

24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, All of you cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

24:19 Gioâ-sueâ noùi cuøng daân söï raèng: Caùc ngöôi khoâng ñuû söùc phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, vì laø Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi thaùnh, Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi kî taø, Ngaøi chaúng tha söï traùi maïng vaø toäi loãi cuûa caùc ngöôi.

24:20 If all of you forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he has done you good.

24:21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

24:21 Daân söï beøn noùi cuøng Gioâ-sueâ raèng: Khoâng ñaâu; vì chuùng toâi seõ phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

24:22 And Joshua said unto the people, All of you are witnesses against yourselves that all of you have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

24:22 Vaäy, Gioâ-sueâ noùi cuøng daân söï raèng: Caùc ngöôi laøm chöùng laáy cho mình raèng chính caùc ngöôi ñaõ choïn Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñeå phuïc söï Ngaøi. Daân söï ñaùp raèng: Chuùng toâi laøm chöùng veà ñieàu ñoù.

24:23 Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

24:23 Vaäy baây giôø, haõy caát caùc thaàn ngoaïi bang khoûi giöõa caùc ngöôi ñi, haõy xaây loøng veà cuøng Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi Y-sô-ra-eân.

24:24 And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

24:24 Daân söï ñaùp cuøng Gioâ-sueâ raèng: Chuùng toâi seõ phuïc söï Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi chuùng toâi, vaø nghe theo tieáng Ngaøi.

24:25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

24:25 Nhö vaäy, trong ngaøy ñoù Gioâ-sueâ laäp giao öôùc cuøng daân söï, vaø truyeàn cho hoï moät luaät phaùp vaø ñieàu raên taïi Si-chem.

24:26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.

24:26 Ñoaïn, Gioâ-sueâ cheùp caùc lôøi naøy trong saùch luaät phaùp cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi. Keá ñoù, ngöôøi laáy moät hoøn ñaù lôùn döïng taïi ñoù ôû döôùi caây deû boäp gaàn nôi thaùnh cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

24:27 And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it has heard all the words of the LORD which he spoke unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest all of you deny your God.

24:27 Roài Gioâ-sueâ noùi cuøng caû daân söï raèng: Kìa, hoøn ñaù naøy seõ duøng laøm chöùng cho chuùng ta; vì noù coù nghe moïi lôøi Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn cuøng chuùng ta; noù duøng laøm chöùng cho caùc ngöôi, e caùc ngöôi boû Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi mình chaêng.

24:28 So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.

24:28 Ñoaïn, Gioâ-sueâ cho daân söï trôû veà, ai naáy ñeàu veà trong saûn nghieäp mình.

24:29 And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

24:29 Sau caùc vieäc aáy, Gioâ-sueâ, con trai Nun, toâi tôù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, qua ñôøi, tuoåi ñöôïc moät traêm möôøi.

24:30 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.

24:30 Ngöôøi ta choân ngöôøi trong ñòa phaän ñaõ baét thaêm veà ngöôøi taïi Thim-naùt-Seâ-raùch ôû treân nuùi Eùp-ra-im, veà phía baéc nuùi Ga-aùch.

24:31 And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that survived after Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.

24:31 Y-sô-ra-eân phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va troïn luùc sanh tieàn cuûa Gioâ-sueâ vaø caùc tröôûng laõo maø bieát moïi vieäc Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ laøm vì Y-sô-ra-eân.

24:32 And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.

24:32 Haøi coát cuûa Gioâ-seùp maø daân Y-sô-ra-eân ñaõ dôøi töø xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, thì ngöôøi ta choân ôû Si-chem, trong ñoàng ruoäng Gia-coáp mua cuûa con chaùu Heâ-moâ, cha Si-chem, giaù moät traêm mieáng baïc; con chaùu Gioâ-seùp ñöôïc haøi coát ñoù laøm saûn nghieäp.

24:33 And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in a hill that pertained to Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.

24:33 EÂ-leâ -a-sa, con trai A-roân, cuõng qua ñôøi; ngöôøi ta choân ngöôøi taïi Ghi-beâ-aùt-Phi-neâ -a, maø Phi-neâ -a, con trai ngöôøi, ñaõ ñöôïc ban cho trong nuùi Eùp-ra-im.
