 열왕기상 1장 / 1 Kings

1:1 다윗 왕이 나이 많아 늙으니 이불을 덮어도 따뜻하지 아니한지라

1:1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.

1:2 그 신복들이 왕께 고하되 우리 주 왕을 위하여 젊은 처녀 하나를 구하여 저로 왕을 모셔 봉양하고 왕의 품에 누워 우리 주 왕으로 따뜻하시게 하리이다 하고

1:2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.

1:3 이스라엘 사방 경내에 아리따운 동녀를 구하다가 수넴 여자 아비삭을 얻어 왕께 데려왔으니  

1:3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.

1:4 이 동녀는 심히 아리따운 자라 저가 왕을 봉양하며 수종하였으나 왕이 더불어 동침하지 아니하였더라

1:4 And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king had sexual contact with her not.

1:5 ○ 때에 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 스스로 높여서 이르기를 내가 왕이 되리라 하고 자기를 위하여 병거와 기병과 전배 오십 인을 예비하니

1:5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

1:6 저는 압살롬의 다음에 난 자요 체용이 심히 준수한 자라 그 부친이 네가 어찌하여 그리하였느냐 하는 말로 한 번도 저를 섭섭하게 한 일이 없었더라

1:6 And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why have you done so? and he also was a very goodly man; and his mother bare him after Absalom.

1:7 아도니야가 스루야의 아들 요압과 제사장 아비아달과 모의하니 저희가 좇아 도우나

1:7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.

1:8 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 선지자 나단과 시므이와 레이와 다윗에게 속한 용사들은 아도니야와 같이 하지 아니하였더라

1:8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.

1:9 아도니야가 에느로겔 근방 소헬렛 돌 곁에서 양과 소와 살진 송아지를 잡고 왕자 곧 자기의 모든 동생과 왕의 신복 유다 모든 사람을 다 청하였으나

1:9 And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by Enrogel, and called all his brethren the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants:

1:10 선지자 나단과 브나야와 용사들과 자기 동생 솔로몬은 청하지 아니하였더라

1:10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.

1:11 ○ 나단이 솔로몬의 모친 밧세바에게 고하여 가로되 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 왕이 됨을 듣지 못하였나이까 우리 주 다윗은 알지 못하시나이다

1:11 Wherefore Nathan spoke unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith does reign, and David our lord knows it not?

1:12 이제 나로 당신의 생명과 당신의 아들 솔로몬의 생명 구원할 계교 베풀기를 허락하소서

1:12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you counsel, that you may save yours own life, and the life of your son Solomon.

1:13 당신은 다윗 왕 앞에 들어가서 고하기를 내 주 왕이여 전에 왕이 계집종에게 맹세하여 이르시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하지 아니하셨나이까 그런데 아도니야가 무슨 연고로 왕이 되었나이까 하소서

1:13 Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?

1:14 당신이 거기서 왕과 말씀할 때에 나도 이어 들어가서 당신의 말씀을 증거하리이다

1:14 Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.

1:15 ○ 밧세바가 이에 침실에 들어가 왕에게 이르니 왕이 심히 늙었음으로 수넴 여자 아비삭이 시종하였더라

1:15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.

1:16 밧세바가 몸을 굽혀 왕께 절하니 왕이 이르되 어찜이냐

1:16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did reverence unto the king. And the king said, What would you?

1:17 저가 왕께 대답하되 내 주여 왕이 전에 왕의 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 계집종에게 맹세하시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하셨거늘

1:17 And she said unto him, My lord, you sware by the LORD your God unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

1:18 이제 아도니야가 왕이 되었어도 내 주 왕은 알지 못하시나이다

1:18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you know it not:

1:19 저가 수소와 살진 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 제사장 아비아달과 군대 장관 요압을 청하였으나 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청치 아니하였나이다

1:19 And he has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon your servant has he not called.

1:20 내 주 왕이여 온 이스라엘이 왕에게 다 주목하고 누가 내 주 왕을 이어 그 위에 앉을 것을 반포하시기를 기다리나이다

1:20 And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

1:21 그렇지 아니하면 내 주 왕께서 그 열조와 함께 잘 때에 나와 내 아들 솔로몬은 죄인이 되리이다

1:21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

1:22 ○ 밧세바가 왕과 말씀할 때에 선지자 나단이 들어온지라

1:22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.

1:23 혹이 왕께 고하여 가로되 선지자 나단이 여기 있나이다 하니 저가 왕 앞에 들어와서 얼굴을 땅에 대어 왕께 절하고

1:23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

1:24 가로되 내 주 왕께서 이르시기를 아도니야가 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하셨나이까

1:24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

1:25 저가 오늘 내려가서 수소와 살진 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 군대 장관들과 제사장 아비아달을 청하였는데 저희가 아도니야 앞에서 먹고 마시며 아도니야 왕 만세를 불렀나이다

1:25 For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

1:26 그러나 왕의 종 나와 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청치 아니하였사오니

1:26 But me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, has he not called.

1:27 이것이 내 주 왕의 하신 일이니이까 그런데 왕께서 내 주 왕을 이어 그 위에 앉을 자를 종에게 알게 하지 아니하셨나이다

1:27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you have not showed it unto your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

1:28 다윗 왕이 명하여 가로되 밧세바를 내 앞으로 부르라 하매 저가 왕의 앞으로 들어와 그 앞에 서는지라

1:28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.

1:29 왕이 가로되 내 생명을 모든 환난에서 구원하신 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노라

1:29 And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,

1:30 내가 이전에 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 네게 맹세하여 이르기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되고 나를 대신하여 내 위에 앉으리라 하였으니 내가 오늘날 그대로 행하리라

1:30 Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my position; even so will I certainly do this day.

1:31 밧세바가 얼굴을 땅에 대어 절하며 내 주 다윗 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하니라

1:31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

1:32 다윗 왕이 가로되 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 내 앞으로 부르라 하니 저희가 왕 앞에 이른지라

1:32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

1:33 왕이 저희에게 이르되 너희는 너희 주의 신복들을 데리고 내 아들 솔로몬을 나의 노새에 태우고 기혼으로 인도하여 내려가고

1:33 The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

1:34 거기서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단은 저에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕을 삼고 너희는 양각을 불며 솔로몬 왕 만세를 부르고

1:34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow all of you with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.

1:35 저를 따라 올라오라 저가 와서 내 위에 앉아 나를 대신하여 왕이 되리라 내가 저를 세워 이스라엘과 유다의 주권자가 되게 하기로 작정하였느니라

1:35 Then all of you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my position: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.

1:36 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 왕께 대답하여 가로되 아멘 내 주 왕의 하나님 여호와께서도 이렇게 말씀하시기를 원하오며

1:36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.

1:37 또 여호와께서 내 주 왕과 함께 계심 같이 솔로몬과 함께 계셔서 그 위를 내 주 다윗 왕의 위보다 더 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하니라

1:37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.

1:38 ○ 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람이 내려가서 솔로몬을 다윗 왕의 노새에 태우고 인도하여 기혼으로 가서

1:38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.

1:39 제사장 사독이 성막 가운데서 기름 뿔을 가져다가 솔로몬에게 기름을 부으니 이에 양각을 불고 모든 백성이 솔로몬 왕 만세를 부르니라

1:39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

1:40 모든 백성이 왕을 따라 올라와서 피리를 불며 크게 즐거워하므로 땅이 저희 소리로 인하여 갈라질 듯하니

1:40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.

1:41 아도니야와 저와 함께 한 손들이 먹기를 마칠 때에 다 들은지라 요압이 양각 소리를 듣고 가로되 성 중에서 소리가 어찌하여 요란하뇨

1:41 And Adonijah and all the guest that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?

1:42 말할 때에 제사장 아비아달의 아들 요나단이 오는지라 아도니야가 가로되 들어오라 너는 용사라 아름다운 소식을 가져오는도다

1:42 And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.

1:43 요나단이 아도니야에게 대답하여 가로되 과연 우리 주 다윗 왕이 솔로몬으로 왕을 삼으셨나이다

1:43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king.

1:44 왕께서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 솔로몬과 함께 보내셨는데 저희 무리가 왕의 노새에 솔로몬을 태워다가

1:44 And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:

1:45 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단이 기혼에서 기름을 부어 왕을 삼고 무리가 그 곳에서 올라오며 즐거워하므로 성중이 진동하였나니 당신들에게 들린 소리가 이것이라

1:45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that all of you have heard.

1:46 솔로몬이 나라 위에 앉았고

1:46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.

1:47 또 왕의 신복들이 와서 우리 주 다윗 왕에게 축복하여 이르기를 왕의 하나님이 솔로몬의 이름을 왕의 이름보다 아름답게 하시고 그 위를 왕의 위보다 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하매 왕이 침상에서 몸을 굽히고

1:47 And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.

1:48 이르시기를 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다 여호와께서 오늘날 내 위에 앉을 자를 주사 나로 목도하게 하셨도다 하셨나이다 하니

1:48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.

1:49 아도니야와 함께 한 손들이 다 놀라 일어나 각기 갈 길로 간지라

1:49 And all the guest that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.

1:50 아도니야도 솔로몬을 두려워하여 일어나 가서 제단 뿔을 잡으니

1:50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

1:51 혹이 솔로몬에게 고하여 가로되 아도니야가 솔로몬 왕을 두려워하여 지금 제단 뿔을 잡고 말하기를 솔로몬 왕이 오늘날 칼로 자기 종을 죽이지 않겠다고 내게 맹세하기를 원한다 하나이다

1:51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.

1:52 솔로몬이 가로되 저가 만일 선한 사람이 될진대 그 머리카락 하나라도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하려니와 저의 가운데 악한 것이 보이면 죽으리라 하고

1:52 And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

1:53 사람을 보내어 저를 제단에서 이끌어 내리니 저가 와서 솔로몬 왕께 절하매 솔로몬이 이르기를 네 집으로 가라 하였더라

1:53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to yours house.

 열왕기상 2장 / 1 Kings

2:1 다윗이 죽을 날이 임박하매 그 아들 솔로몬에게 명하여 가로되

2:1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

2:2 내가 이제 세상 모든 사람의 가는 길로 가게 되었노니 너는 힘써 대장부가 되고

2:2 I go the way of all the earth: be you strong therefore, and show yourself a man;

2:3 네 하나님 여호와의 명을 지켜 그 길로 행하여 그 법률과 계명과 율례와 증거를 모세의 율법에 기록된 대로 지키라 그리하면 네가 무릇 무엇을 하든지 어디로 가든지 형통할지라

2:3 And keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and anywhere you turn yourself:

2:4 여호와께서 내 일에 대하여 말씀하시기를 만일 네 자손이 그 길을 삼가 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 진실히 내 앞에서 행하면 이스라엘 왕위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 하신 말씀을 확실히 이루게 하시리라

2:4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

2:5 스루야의 아들 요압이 내게 행한 일 곧 이스라엘 군대의 두 장관 넬의 아들 아브넬과 예델의 아들 아마사에게 행한 일을 네가 알거니와 저가 저희를 죽여 태평 시대에 전쟁의 피를 흘리고 전쟁의 피로 자기의 허리에 띤 띠와 발에 신은 신에 묻혔으니

2:5 Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

2:6 네 지혜대로 행하여 그 백발로 평안히 음부에 내려가지 못하게 하라

2:6 Do therefore according to your wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.

2:7 마땅히 길르앗 바실래의 아들들에게 은총을 베풀어 저희로 네 상에서 먹는 자 중에 참예하게 하라 내가 네 형 압살롬의 낯을 피하여 도망할 때에 저희가 내게 나아왔었느니라

2:7 But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at your table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom your brother.

2:8 바후림 베냐민 사람 게라의 아들 시므이가 너와 함께 있나니 저는 내가 마하나임으로 갈 때에 독한 말로 나를 저주하였느니라 그러나 저가 요단에 내려와서 나를 영접하기로 내가 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하여 이르기를 내가 칼로 너를 죽이지 아니하리라 하였노라

2:8 And, behold, you have with you Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put you to death with the sword.

2:9 그러나 저를 무죄한 자로 여기지 말지어다 너는 지혜 있는 사람인즉 저에게 행할 일을 알지니 그 백발의 피를 흘려 저로 음부에 내려가게 하라

2:9 Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for you are a wise man, and know what you ought to do unto him; but his hoar head bring you down to the grave with blood.

2:10 ○ 다윗이 그 열조와 함께 누워 자서 다윗 성에 장사되니

2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

2:11 다윗이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사십 년이라 헤브론에서 칠 년을 치리하였고 예루살렘에서 삼십 삼 년을 치리하였더라

2:11 And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

2:12 솔로몬이 그 아비 다윗의 위에 앉으니 그 나라가 심히 견고하니라

2:12 Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

2:13 ○ 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 솔로몬의 모친 밧세바에게 나아온지라 밧세바가 이르되 네가 화평한 목적으로 왔느뇨 대답하되 화평한 목적이니이다

2:13 And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Come you peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

2:14 또 가로되 내가 말씀할 일이 있나이다 밧세바가 가로되 말하라

2:14 He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto you. And she said, Say on.

2:15 저가 가로되 당신도 아시는 바여니와 이 왕위는 내 것이었고 온 이스라엘은 다 얼굴을 내게로 향하여 왕을 삼으려 하였는데 그 왕위가 돌이켜 내 아우의 것이 되었음은 여호와께로 말미암음이니이다

2:15 And he said, You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: nevertheless the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

2:16 이제 내가 한 가지 소원을 당신에게 구하오니 내 얼굴을 괄시하지 마옵소서 밧세바가 가로되 말하라

2:16 And now I ask one petition of you, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.

2:17 가로되 청컨대 솔로몬 왕에게 말씀하여 저로 수넴 여자 아비삭을 내게 주어 아내를 삼게 하소서 왕이 당신의 얼굴을 괄시치 아니하리이다

2:17 And he said, Speak, I pray you, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say you nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

2:18 밧세바가 가로되 좋다 내가 너를 위하여 왕께 말하리라

2:18 And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for you unto the king.

2:19 ○ 밧세바가 이에 아도니야를 위하여 말하려고 솔로몬 왕에게 이르니 왕이 일어나 영접하여 절한 후에 다시 위에 앉고 그 모친을 위하여 자리를 베풀게 하고 그 우편에 앉게 하는지라

2:19 Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

2:20 밧세바가 이르되 내가 한 가지 작은 일로 왕께 구하오니 내 얼굴을 괄시하지 마소서 왕이 대답하되 내 어머니여 구하시옵소서 내가 어머니의 얼굴을 괄시하지 아니하리이다

2:20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of you; I pray you, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say you nay.

2:21 가로되 청컨대 수넴 여자 아비삭을 아도니야에게 주어 아내를 삼게 하소서

2:21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother to wife.

2:22 솔로몬 왕이 그 모친에게 대답하여 가로되 어찌하여 아도니야를 위하여 수넴 여자 아비삭을 구하시나이까 저는 나의 형이오니 저를 위하여 왕위도 구하옵소서 저뿐 아니라 제사장 아비아달과 스루야의 아들 요압도 위하여 구하옵소서 하고

2:22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

2:23 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하여 가로되 아도니야가 이런 말을 하였은즉 그 생명을 잃지 아니하면 하나님은 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내리심이 마땅하니이다

2:23 Then king Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

2:24 나를 세워 내 부친 다윗의 위에 오르게 하시고 허락하신 말씀대로 나를 위하여 집을 세우신 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 아도니야는 오늘날 죽임을 당하리라 하고

2:24 Now therefore, as the LORD lives, which has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

2:25 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 보내매 저가 아도니야를 쳐서 죽였더라

2:25 And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

2:26 ○ 왕이 제사장 아비아달에게 이르되 네 고향 아나돗으로 가라 너는 마땅히 죽을 자로되 네가 내 부친 다윗 앞에서 주 여호와의 궤를 메었고 또 내 부친이 모든 환난을 받을 때에 너도 환난을 받았은즉 내가 오늘날 너를 죽이지 아니하노라 하고

2:26 And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get you to Anathoth, unto yours own fields; for you are worthy of death: but I will not at this time put you to death, because you bare the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because you have been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

2:27 아비아달을 쫓아내어 여호와의 제사장 직분을 파면하니 여호와께서 실로에서 엘리의 집에 대하여 하신 말씀을 응하게 함이더라

2:27 So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfill the word of the LORD, which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

2:28 ○ 그 소문이 요압에게 들리매 저가 여호와의 장막으로 도망하여 단 뿔을 잡으니 이는 저가 다윗을 떠나 압살롬을 좇지 아니하였으나 아도니야를 좇았음이더라

2:28 Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

2:29 혹이 솔로몬 왕에게 고하되 요압이 여호와의 장막으로 도망하여 단 곁에 있나이다 솔로몬이 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 보내며 가로되 너는 가서 저를 치라

2:29 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.

2:30 브나야가 여호와의 장막에 이르러 저에게 이르되 왕께서 나오라 하시느니라 저가 대답하되 아니라 내가 여기서 죽겠노라 브나야가 돌아가서 왕께 고하여 가로되 요압이 이리이리 내게 대답하더이다

2:30 And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus says the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.

2:31 왕이 이르되 저의 말과 같이 하여 저를 죽여 묻으라 요압이 까닭 없이 흘린 피를 나와 내 부친의 집에서 네가 제하리라

2:31 And the king said unto him, Do as he has said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that you may take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.

2:32 여호와께서 요압의 피를 그 머리로 돌려보내실 것은 저가 자기보다 의롭고 선한 두 사람을 쳤음이니 곧 이스라엘 군대 장관 넬의 아들 아브넬과 유다 군대 장관 예델의 아들 아마사를 칼로 죽였음이라 이 일을 내 부친 다윗은 알지 못하셨나니

2:32 And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to know, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

2:33 저희의 피는 영영히 요압의 머리와 그 자손의 머리로 돌아갈지라도 다윗과 그 자손과 그 집과 그 위에는 여호와께로 말미암은 평강이 영원히 있으리라

2:33 Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.

2:34 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 곧 올라가서 저를 쳐죽이매 저가 거친 땅에 있는 자기의 집에 매장되니라

2:34 So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

2:35 왕이 이에 여호야다의 아들 브나야로 요압을 대신하여 군대 장관을 삼고 또 제사장 사독으로 아비아달을 대신하게 하니라

2:35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

2:36 ○ 왕이 보내어 시므이를 불러서 이르되 너는 예루살렘에서 너를 위하여 집을 짓고 거기서 살고 어디든지 나가지 말라

2:36 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build you an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any where.

2:37 너는 분명히 알라 네가 나가서 기드론 시내를 건너는 날에는 정녕 죽임을 당하리니 네 피가 네 머리로 돌아가리라

2:37 For it shall be, that on the day you go out, and pass over the brook Kidron, you shall know for certain that you shall surely die: your blood shall be upon yours own head.

2:38 시므이가 왕께 대답하되 이 말씀이 좋사오니 내 주 왕의 말씀대로 종이 그리하겠나이다 하고 이에 날이 오래도록 예루살렘에 머무니라

2:38 And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king has said, so will your servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

2:39 ○ 삼 년 후에 시므이의 두 종이 가드 왕 마아가의 아들 아기스에게로 도망하여 간지라 혹이 시므이에게 고하여 가로되 당신의 종이 가드에 있나이다

2:39 And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, your servants be in Gath.

2:40 시므이가 그 종을 찾으려고 일어나 그 나귀에 안장을 지우고 가드로 가서 아기스에게 나아가 그 종을 가드에서 데려왔더니

2:40 And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants: and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.

2:41 시므이가 예루살렘에서부터 가드에 갔다가 돌아온 일을 혹이 솔로몬에게 고한지라

2:41 And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come again.

2:42 왕이 사람을 보내어 시므이를 불러서 이르되 내가 너로 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하게 하고 경계하여 이르기를 너는 분명히 알라 네가 밖으로 나가서 어디든지 가는 날에는 죽임을 당하리라 하지 아니하였느냐 너도 내게 말하기를 내가 들은 말씀이 좋으니이다 하였거늘

2:42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make you to swear by the LORD, and protested unto you, saying, Know for a certain, on the day you go out, and walk abroad any where, that you shall surely die? and you said unto me, The word that I have heard is good.

2:43 네가 어찌하여 여호와를 가리켜 한 맹세와 내가 네게 이른 명령을 지키지 아니하였느냐

2:43 Why then have you not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged you with?

2:44 왕이 또 시므이에게 이르되 네가 무릇 네 마음의 아는 모든 악 곧 내 부친에게 행한 바를 네가 스스로 아나니 여호와께서 네 악을 네 머리로 돌려보내시리라

2:44 The king said moreover to Shimei, You know all the wickedness which yours heart is privy to, that you did to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return your wickedness upon yours own head;

2:45 그러나 솔로몬 왕은 복을 받고 다윗의 위는 영원히 여호와 앞에서 견고히 서리라 하고

2:45 And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.

2:46 여호야다의 아들 브나야에게 명하매 저가 나가서 시므이를 쳐서 죽게 한지라 이에 나라가 솔로몬의 손에 견고하여지니라

2:46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

 열왕기상 3장 / 1 Kings

3:1 솔로몬이 애굽 왕 바로로 더불어 인연을 맺어 그 딸을 취하고 데려다가 다윗 성에 두고 자기의 궁과 여호와의 전과 예루살렘 주위의 성이 필역되기를 기다리니라

3:1 And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

3:2 그 때까지 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 아직 건축하지 아니하였으므로 백성들이 산당에서 제사하며

3:2 Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.

3:3 솔로몬이 여호와를 사랑하고 그 부친 다윗의 법도를 행하되 오히려 산당에서 제사하며 분향하더라

3:3 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

3:4 ○ 이에 왕이 제사하러 기브온으로 가니 거기는 산당이 큼이라 솔로몬이 그 단에 일천 번제를 드렸더니

3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

3:5 기브온에서 밤에 여호와께서 솔로몬의 꿈에 나타나시니라 하나님이 이르시되 내가 네게 무엇을 줄꼬 너는 구하라

3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give you.

3:6 솔로몬이 가로되 주의 종 내 아비 다윗이 성실과 공의와 정직한 마음으로 주와 함께 주의 앞에서 행하므로 주께서 저에게 큰 은혜를 베푸셨고 주께서 또 저를 위하여 이 큰 은혜를 예비하시고 오늘날과 같이 저의 위에 앉을 아들을 저에게 주셨나이다

3:6 And Solomon said, You have showed unto your servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you; and you have kept for him this great kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

3:7 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 종으로 종의 아비 다윗을 대신하여 왕이 되게 하셨사오나 종은 작은 아이라 출입할 줄을 알지 못하고

3:7 And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

3:8 주의 빼신 백성 가운데 있나이다 저희는 큰 백성이라 수효가 많아서 셀 수도 없고 기록할 수도 없사오니

3:8 And your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

3:9 누가 주의 이 많은 백성을 재판할 수 있사오리이까 지혜로운 마음을 종에게 주사 주의 백성을 재판하여 선악을 분별하게 하옵소서

3:9 Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this your so great a people?

3:10 솔로몬이 이것을 구하매 그 말씀이 주의 마음에 맞은지라

3:10 And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.

3:11 이에 하나님이 저에게 이르시되 네가 이것을 구하도다 자기를 위하여 수도 구하지 아니하며 부도 구하지 아니하며 자기의 원수의 생명 멸하기도 구하지 아니하고 오직 송사를 듣고 분별하는 지혜를 구하였은즉

3:11 And God said unto him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life; neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of yours enemies; but have asked for yourself understanding to discern judgment;

3:12 내가 네 말대로 하여 네게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 주노니 너의 전에도 너와 같은 자가 없었거니와 너의 후에도 너와 같은 자가 일어남이 없으리라

3:12 Behold, I have done according to your words: lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like unto you.

3:13 내가 또 너의 구하지 아니한 부와 영광도 네게 주노니 네 평생에 열왕 중에 너와 같은 자가 없을 것이라

3:13 And I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto you all your days.

3:14 네가 만일 네 아비 다윗의 행함 같이 내 길로 행하며 내 법도와 명령을 지키면 내가 또 네 날을 길게 하리라

3:14 And if you will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David did walk, then I will lengthen your days.

3:15 솔로몬이 깨어보니 꿈이더라 이에 예루살렘에 이르러 여호와의 언약궤 앞에 서서 번제와 수은제를 드리고 모든 신복을 위하여 잔치하였더라

3:15 And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.

3:16 ○ 때에 창기 두 계집이 왕에게 와서 그 앞에 서며

3:16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.

3:17 한 계집은 말하되 내 주여 나와 이 계집이 한 집에서 사는데 내가 저와 함께 집에 있으며 아이를 낳았더니

3:17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

3:18 나의 해산한 지 삼 일에 이 계집도 해산하고 우리가 함께 있었고 우리 둘 외에는 집에 다른 사람이 없었나이다

3:18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.

3:19 그런데 밤에 저 계집이 그 아들 위에 누우므로 그 아들이 죽으니

3:19 And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.

3:20 저가 밤중에 일어나서 계집종 나의 잠든 사이에 내 아들을 내 곁에서 가져다가 자기의 품에 뉘이고 자기의 죽은 아들을 내 품에 뉘었나이다

3:20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while yours handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

3:21 미명에 내가 내 아들을 젖 먹이려고 일어나 본즉 죽었기로 내가 아침에 자세히 보니 내가 낳은 아들이 아니더이다 하매

3:21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

3:22 다른 계집은 이르되 아니라 산 것은 내 아들이요 죽은 것은 네 아들이라 하고 이 계집은 이르되 아니라 죽은 것이 네 아들이요 산 것이 내 아들이라 하매 왕 앞에서 그와 같이 쟁론하는지라

3:22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is your son. And this said, No; but the dead is your son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.

3:23 왕이 가로되 이는 말하기를 산 것은 내 아들이요 죽은 것은 네 아들이라 하고 저는 말하기를 아니라 죽은 것이 네 아들이요 산 것이 내 아들이라 하는도다 하고

3:23 Then said the king, The one says, This is my son that lives, and your son is the dead: and the other says, Nay; but your son is the dead, and my son is the living.

3:24 또 가로되 칼을 내게로 가져오라 하니 칼을 왕의 앞으로 가져온지라

3:24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

3:25 왕이 이르되 산 아들을 둘에 나눠 반은 이에게 주고 반은 저에게 주라

3:25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

3:26 그 산 아들의 어미되는 계집이 그 아들을 위하여 마음이 불붙는 것 같아서 왕께 아뢰어 가로되 청컨대 내 주여 산 아들을 저에게 주시고 아무쪼록 죽이지 마옵소서 하되 한 계집은 말하기를 내 것도 되게 말고 네 것도 되게 말고 나누게 하라 하는지라

3:26 Then spoke the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor yours, but divide it.

3:27 왕이 대답하여 가로되 산 아들을 저 계집에게 주고 결코 죽이지 말라 저가 그 어미니라 하매

3:27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.

3:28 온 이스라엘이 왕의 심리하여 판결함을 듣고 왕을 두려워하였으니 이는 하나님의 지혜가 저의 속에 있어 판결함을 봄이더라

3:28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

 열왕기상 4장 / 1 Kings

4:1 솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되었고

4:1 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

4:2 그의 신하들은 이러하니라 사독의 아들 아사리아는 제사장이요

4:2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,

4:3 시사의 아들 엘리호렙과 아히야는 서기관이요 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이요

4:3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.

4:4 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 군대 장관이요 사독과 아비아달은 제사장이요

4:4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

4:5 나단의 아들 아사리아는 관리장이요 나단의 아들 사붓은 대신이니 왕의 벗이요

4:5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend:

4:6 아히살은 궁내 대신이요 압다의 아들 아도니람은 감역관이더라

4:6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.

4:7 ○ 솔로몬이 또 온 이스라엘 위에 열 두 관장을 두매 그 사람들이 왕과 왕실을 위하여 식물을 예비하되 각기 일 년에 한 달씩 식물을 예비하였으니

4:7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

4:8 그 이름은 이러하니라 에브라임 산지에는 벤훌이요

4:8 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:

4:9 마가스와 사알빔과 벧세메스와 엘론벧하난에는 벤데겔이요

4:9 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:

4:10 아룹봇에는 벤헤셋이니 소고와 헤벨 온 땅을 저가 주관하였으며

4:10 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:

4:11 돌 높은 땅 온 지방에는 벤아비나답이니 저는 솔로몬의 딸 다밧으로 아내를 삼았으며

4:11 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

4:12 다아낙과 므깃도와 이스르엘 아래 사르단 가에 있는 벧스안 온 땅은 아힐룻의 아들 바아나가 맡았으니 벧소안에서부터 아벨므홀라에 이르고 욕느암 바깥까지 미쳤으며

4:12 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:

4:13 길르앗 라못에는 벤게벨이니 저는 길르앗에 있는 므낫세의 아들 야일의 모든 촌을 주관하였고 또 바산 아르곱 땅의 성벽과 놋빗장 있는 큰 성읍 육십을 주관하였으며

4:13 The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars:

4:14 마하나임에는 잇도의 아들 아히나답이요

4:14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:

4:15 납달리에는 아히마아스니 저는 솔로몬의 딸 바스맛으로 아내를 삼았으며

4:15 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

4:16 아셀과 아롯에는 후새의 아들 바아나요

4:16 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:

4:17 잇사갈에는 바루아의 아들 여호사밧이요

4:17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:

4:18 베냐민에는 엘라의 아들 시므이요

4:18 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:

4:19 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥의 나라 길르앗 땅에는 우리의 아들 게벨이니 그 땅에서는 저 한 사람만 관장이 되었더라

4:19 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.

4:20 ○ 유다와 이스라엘의 인구가 바닷가의 모래 같이 많게 되매 먹고 마시며 즐거워하였으며

4:20 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

4:21 솔로몬이 하수에서부터 블레셋 사람의 땅에 이르기까지와 애굽 지경에 미치기까지의 모든 나라를 다스리므로 그 나라들이 공을 바쳐 솔로몬의 사는 동안에 섬겼더라

4:21 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

4:22 솔로몬의 일 일분 식물은 가는 밀가루가 삼십 석이요 굵은 밀가루가 육십 석이요

4:22 And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,

4:23 살진 소가 열이요 초장의 소가 스물이요 양이 일백이며 그 외에 수사슴과 노루와 암사슴과 살찐 새들이었더라

4:23 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallow-deer, and fatted fowl.

4:24 솔로몬이 하수 이편을 딥사에서부터 가사까지 모두 다스리므로 하수 이편의 모든 왕이 다 관할한 바 되매 저가 사방에 둘린 민족과 평화가 있었으니

4:24 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

4:25 솔로몬의 사는 동안에 유다와 이스라엘이 단에서부터 브엘세바에 이르기까지 각기 포도나무 아래와 무화과나무 아래서 안연히 살았더라

4:25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

4:26 솔로몬의 병거의 말의 외양간이 사만이요 마병이 일만 이천이며

4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

4:27 그 관장들은 각각 자기 달에 솔로몬 왕과 왕의 상에 참예하는 모든 자를 위하여 먹을 것을 예비하여 부족함이 없게 하였으며

4:27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

4:28 또 저희가 각기 직무를 따라 말과 준마에게 먹일 보리와 꼴을 그 말의 있는 곳으로 가져왔더라

4:28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

4:29 ○ 하나님이 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명을 심히 많이 주시고 또 넓은 마음을 주시되 바닷가의 모래 같이 하시니

4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

4:30 솔로몬의 지혜가 동양 모든 사람의 지혜와 애굽의 모든 지혜보다 뛰어난지라

4:30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

4:31 저는 모든 사람보다 지혜로와서 예스라 사람 에단과 마홀의 아들 헤만과 갈골과 다르다보다 나으므로 그 이름이 사방 모든 나라에 들렸더라

4:31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.

4:32 저가 잠언 삼천을 말하였고 그 노래는 일천 다섯이며

4:32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

4:33 저가 또 초목을 논하되 레바논 백향목으로부터 담에 나는 우슬초까지 하고 저가 또 짐승과 새와 기어 다니는 것과 물고기를 논한지라

4:33 And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springs out of the wall: he spoke also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

4:34 모든 민족 중에서 솔로몬의 지혜의 소문을 들은 천하 모든 왕 중에서 그 지혜를 들으러 왔더라

4:34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

 열왕기상 5장 / 1 Kings

5:1 솔로몬이 기름 부음을 받고 그 부친을 이어 왕이 되었다 함을 두로 왕 히람이 듣고 그 신복을 솔로몬에게 보내었으니 이는 히람이 평일에 다윗을 사랑하였음이라

5:1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.

5:2 이에 솔로몬이 히람에게 기별하여 가로되

5:2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

5:3 당신도 알거니와 내 부친 다윗이 사방의 전쟁으로 인하여 그 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하지 못하고 여호와께서 그 원수들을 그 발바닥 밑에 두시기를 기다렸나이다

5:3 You know how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

5:4 이제 내 하나님 여호와께서 내게 사방의 태평을 주시매 대적도 없고 재앙도 없도다

5:4 But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.

5:5 여호와께서 내 부친 다윗에게 하신 말씀에 내가 너를 이어 네 위에 오르게 할 네 아들 그가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하리라 하신 대로 내가 내 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하려 하오니

5:5 And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke unto David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your room, he shall build an house unto my name.

5:6 당신은 영을 내려 나를 위하여 레바논에서 백향목을 베어내게 하소서 나의 종과 당신의 종이 함께 할 것이요 또 내가 당신의 모든 말씀대로 당신의 종의 삯을 당신에게 붙이리이다 당신도 알거니와 우리 중에는 시돈 사람처럼 벌목을 잘하는 자가 없나이다

5:6 Now therefore command you that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: and unto you will I give hire for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: for you know that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

5:7 ○ 히람이 솔로몬의 말을 듣고 크게 기뻐하여 가로되 오늘날 여호와를 찬양할지로다 저가 다윗에게 지혜로운 아들을 주사 그 많은 백성을 다스리게 하셨도다 하고

5:7 And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which has given unto David a wise son over this great people.

5:8 이에 솔로몬에게 기별하여 가로되 당신의 기별하신 말씀을 내가 듣고 내 백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목에 대하여는 당신의 바라시는 대로 할지라

5:8 And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which you sent to me for: and I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

5:9 내 종이 레바논에서 바다로 수운하겠고 내가 그것을 바다에서 떼로 엮어 당신이 지정하는 곳으로 보내고 거기서 그것을 풀리니 당신은 받으시고 나의 원을 이루어서 나의 궁정을 위하여 식물을 주소서 하고

5:9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in rafts unto the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and you shall receive them: and you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

5:10 솔로몬의 모든 원대로 백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목을 주매

5:10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.

5:11 솔로몬이 히람에게 그 궁정의 식물로 밀 이만 석과 맑은 기름 이십 석을 주고 해마다 그와 같이 주었더라

5:11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

5:12 여호와께서 그 말씀대로 솔로몬에게 지혜를 주신 고로 히람과 솔로몬이 친목하여 두 사람이 함께 약조를 맺었더라

5:12 And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

5:13 ○ 이에 솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘에서 역군을 불러 일으키니 그 역군의 수가 삼만이라

5:13 And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

5:14 솔로몬이 저희들을 한 달에 일만 인씩 번갈아 레바논으로 보내매 저희들이 한 달은 레바논에 있고 두 달은 집에 있으며 아도니람은 감독이 되었고

5:14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.

5:15 솔로몬에게 또 담군이 칠만 인이요 산에서 돌을 뜨는 자가 팔만 인이며

5:15 And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;

5:16 이 외에 그 역사를 동독하는 관리가 삼천 삼백 인이라 저희가 일하는 백성을 거느렸더라

5:16 Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.

5:17 이에 왕이 영을 내려 크고 귀한 돌을 떠다가 다듬어서 전의 기초석으로 놓게 하매

5:17 And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.

5:18 솔로몬의 건축자와 히람의 건축자와 그발 사람이 그 돌을 다듬고 전을 건축하기 위하여 재목과 돌들을 갖추니라

5:18 And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the Gibalites also: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

 열왕기상 6장 / 1 Kings

6:1 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 지 사백 팔십 년이요 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사 년 시브월 곧 이 월에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 전 건축하기를 시작하였더라

6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

6:2 솔로몬 왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 전은 장이 육십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 삼십 규빗이며

6:2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

6:3 전의 성소 앞 낭실의 장은 전의 광과 같이 이십 규빗이요 그 광은 전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며

6:3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

6:4 전을 위하여 붙박이 교창을 내고

6:4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

6:5 또 전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며 다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며 골방들을 만들었으니

6:5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

6:6 하층 다락의 광은 다섯 규빗이요 중층 다락의 광은 여섯 규빗이요 제 삼층 다락의 광은 일곱 규빗이라 전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어 골방 들보들로 전의 벽에 박히지 않게 하였으며

6:6 The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

6:7 이 전은 건축할 때에 돌을 뜨는 곳에서 치석하고 가져다가 건축하였으므로 건축하는 동안에 전 속에서는 방망이나 도끼나 모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며

6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

6:8 중층 골방의 문은 전 오른편에 있는데 나사 모양 사닥다리로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고 중층에서 제 삼 층에 오르게 하였더라

6:8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

6:9 전의 건축이 마치니라 그 전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고

6:9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

6:10 또 온 전으로 돌아가며 고가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되 백향목 들보로 전에 연접하게 하였더라

6:10 And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

6:11 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 임하여 가라사대

6:11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

6:12 네가 이제 이 전을 건축하니 네가 만일 내 법도를 따르며 내 율례를 행하며 나의 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 행하면 내가 네 아비 다윗에게 한 말을 네게 확실히 이룰 것이요

6:12 Concerning this house which you are in building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with you, which I spoke unto David your father:

6:13 내가 또한 이스라엘 자손 가운데 거하며 내 백성 이스라엘을 버리지 아니하리라 하셨더라

6:13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

6:14 ○ 솔로몬이 전 건축하기를 마치고

6:14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

6:15 백향목 널판으로 전의 안 벽 곧 전 마루에서 천장까지의 벽에 입히고 또 잣나무 널판으로 전 마루를 놓고

6:15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

6:16 또 전 뒤편에서부터 이십 규빗 되는 곳에 마루에서 천장까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 전의 내소 곧 지성소를 만들었으며

6:16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

6:17 내소 앞에 있는 외소 곧 성소의 장이 사십 규빗이며

6:17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

6:18 전 안에 입힌 백향목에는 박과 핀 꽃을 아로새겼고 모두 백향목이라 돌이 보이지 아니하며

6:18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

6:19 여호와의 언약궤를 두기 위하여 전 안에 내소를 예비하였는데

6:19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

6:20 그 내소의 속이 장이 이십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 이십 규빗이라 정금으로 입혔고 백향목 단에도 입혔더라

6:20 And the oracle in the front part was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

6:21 솔로몬이 정금으로 외소 안에 입히고 내소 앞에 금사슬로 건너지르고 내소를 금으로 입히고

6:21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

6:22 온 전을 금으로 입히기를 마치고 내소에 속한 단의 전부를 금으로 입혔더라

6:22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

6:23 ○ 내소 안에 감람목으로 두 그룹을 만들었는데 그 고가 각각 십 규빗이라

6:23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

6:24 한 그룹의 이 날개는 다섯 규빗이요 저 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 이 날개 끝으로부터 저 날개 끝까지 십 규빗이며

6:24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

6:25 다른 그룹도 십 규빗이니 그 두 그룹은 한 척수, 한 모양이요

6:25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.

6:26 이 그룹의 고가 십 규빗이요 저 그룹도 일반이라

6:26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

6:27 솔로몬이 내소 가운데 그룹을 두었으니 그룹들의 날개가 폐었는데 이 그룹의 날개는 이 벽에 닿았고 저 그룹의 날개는 저 벽에 닿았으며 두 날개는 전의 중앙에서 서로 닿았더라

6:27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

6:28 저가 금으로 그룹에 입혔더라

6:28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

6:29 ○ 내외소 사면 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고

6:29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

6:30 내외 전 마루에는 금으로 입혔으며

6:30 And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

6:31 내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람목으로 문을 만들었는데 그 문 인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분지 일이요

6:31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

6:32 감람목으로 만든 그 두 문짝에 그룹과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 곧 그룹들과 종려에 금으로 입혔더라

6:32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

6:33 또 외소의 문을 위하여 감람목으로 문설주를 만들었으니 곧 벽의 사분지 일이며

6:33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

6:34 그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며

6:34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

6:35 그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴 데 맞게 하였고

6:35 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

6:36 또 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라

6:36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

6:37 ○ 제 사 년 시브월에 여호와의 전 기초를 쌓았고

6:37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

6:38 제 십 일 년 불월 곧 팔 월에 그 설계와 식양대로 전이 다 필역되었으니 솔로몬이 전을 건축한 동안이 칠 년이었더라

6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

 열왕기상 7장 / 1 Kings

7:1 솔로몬이 자기의 궁을 십 삼 년 동안 건축하여 그 전부를 준공하니라

7:1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

7:2 저가 레바논 나무로 궁을 지었으니 장이 일백 규빗이요 광이 오십 규빗이요 고가 삼십 규빗이라 백향목 기둥이 네 줄이요 기둥 위에 백향목 들보가 있으며

7:2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

7:3 기둥 위에 있는 사십 오 개 들보를 백향목으로 덮었는데 들보는 한 줄에 열 다섯이요

7:3 And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.

7:4 또 창틀이 세 줄로 있는데 창과 창이 세 층으로 서로 대하였고

7:4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

7:5 모든 문과 문설주를 다 큰 나무로 네모지게 만들었는데 창과 창이 세 층으로 서로 대하였으며

7:5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.

7:6 또 기둥을 세워 낭실을 지었으니 장이 오십 규빗이요 광이 삼십 규빗이며 또 기둥 앞에 한 낭실이 있고 또 그 앞에 기둥과 섬돌이 있으며

7:6 And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

7:7 또 심판하기 위하여 보좌의 낭실 곧 재판하는 낭실을 짓고 온 마루를 백향목으로 덮었고

7:7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

7:8 솔로몬의 거처할 궁은 그 낭실 뒤 다른 뜰에 있으니 그 공작이 일반이며 솔로몬이 또 그 장가 든 바로의 딸을 위하여 집을 지었는데 이 낭실과 같더라

7:8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

7:9 ○ 이 집들은 안팎을 모두 귀하고 다듬은 돌로 지었으니 척수대로 톱으로 켠 것이라 그 기초석에서 처마까지와 외면에서 큰 뜰에 이르기까지 다 그러하니

7:9 All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

7:10 그 기초석은 귀하고 큰 돌 곧 십 규빗 되는 돌과 여덟 규빗 되는 돌이라

7:10 And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

7:11 그 위에는 척수대로 다듬은 귀한 돌도 있고 백향목도 있으며

7:11 And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

7:12 또 큰 뜰 주위에는 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜를 놓았으니 마치 여호와의 전 안뜰과 낭실에 놓은 것 같더라

7:12 And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.

7:13 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 보내어 히람을 두로에서 데려오니

7:13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

7:14 저는 납달리 지파 과부의 아들이요 그 아비는 두로 사람이니 놋점장이라 이 히람은 모든 놋 일에 지혜와 총명과 재능이 구비한 자더니 솔로몬 왕에게 와서 그 모든 공작을 하니라

7:14 He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

7:15 저가 놋기둥 둘을 만들었으니 그 고는 각각 십 팔 규빗이라 각각 십 이 규빗되는 줄을 두를 만하며

7:15 For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

7:16 또 놋을 녹여 부어서 기둥 머리를 만들어 기둥 꼭대기에 두었으니 이 머리의 고도 다섯 규빗이요 저 머리의 고도 다섯 규빗이며

7:16 And he made two capitals of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits:

7:17 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리를 위하여 바둑판 모양으로 얽은 그물과 사슬 모양의 땋은 것을 만들었으니 이 머리에 일곱이요 저 머리에 일곱이라

7:17 And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital.

7:18 기둥을 이렇게 만들었고 또 두 줄 석류를 한 그물 위에 둘러 만들어서 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리에 두르게 하였고 다른 기둥 머리에도 그렇게 하였으며

7:18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other capital.

7:19 낭실 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리의 네 규빗은 백합화 모양으로 만들었으며

7:19 And the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

7:20 이 두 기둥 머리에 있는 그물 곁 곧 그 머리의 공 같이 둥근 곳으로 돌아가며 각기 석류 이백이 줄을 지었더라

7:20 And the capitals upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, opposite to the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other capital.

7:21 이 두 기둥을 전의 낭실 앞에 세우되 우편의 기둥을 세우고 그 이름을 야긴이라 하고 좌편의 기둥을 세우고 그 이름을 보아스라 하였으며

7:21 And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

7:22 그 두 기둥 꼭대기에 백합화 형상이 있더라 두 기둥의 공역이 마치니라

7:22 And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

7:23 ○ 또 바다를 부어 만들었으니 그 직경이 십 규빗이요 그 모양이 둥글며 그 고는 다섯 규빗이요 주위는 삼십 규빗 줄을 두를 만하며

7:23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

7:24 그 가장자리 아래에는 돌아가며 박이 있는데 매 규빗에 열 개씩 있어서 바다 주위에 둘렸으니 그 박은 바다를 부어 만들 때에 두 줄로 부어 만들었으며

7:24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

7:25 그 바다를 열 두 소가 받쳤으니 셋은 북을 향하였고 셋은 서를 향하였고 셋은 남을 향하였고 셋은 동을 향하였으며 바다를 그 위에 놓았고 소의 뒤는 다 안으로 두었으며

7:25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

7:26 바다의 두께는 한 손 넓이 만하고 그 가는 백합화의 식양으로 잔 가와 같이 만들었으니 그 바다에는 이천 밧을 담겠더라

7:26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.

7:27 ○ 또 놋으로 받침 열을 만들었으니 매 받침의 장이 네 규빗이요 광이 네 규빗이요 고가 세 규빗이라

7:27 And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

7:28 그 받침의 제도는 이러하니 사면 옆 변죽 가운데 판이 있고

7:28 And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:

7:29 변죽 가운데 판에는 사자와 소와 그룹들이 있고 또 변죽 위에는 놓는 자리가 있고 사자와 소 아래에는 화환 모양이 있으며

7:29 And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.

7:30 그 받침에 각각 네 놋바퀴와 놋축이 있고 받침 네 발 밑에는 어깨 같은 것이 있으며 그 어깨 같은 것은 물두멍 밑편에 부어 만들었고 화환은 각각 그 옆에 있으며

7:30 And every base had four brazen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had supporters: under the vessel that holds water were supporters molten, at the side of every addition.

7:31 그 받침 위로 들이켜 고가 한 규빗 되게 내민 것이 있고 그 면은 직경 한 규빗 반 되게 반원형으로 우묵하며 그 나머지 면에는 아로새긴 것이 있으며 그 내민 판들은 네모지고 둥글지 아니하며

7:31 And the mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were engravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

7:32 네 바퀴는 옆판 밑에 있고 바퀴 축은 받침에 연하였는데 바퀴의 고는 각각 한 규빗 반이며

7:32 And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

7:33 그 바퀴의 제도는 병거 바퀴의 제도 같은데 그 축과 테와 살과 통이 다 부어 만든 것이며

7:33 And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their rims, and their spokes, were all molten.

7:34 받침 네 모퉁이에 어깨 같은 것 넷이 있는데 그 어깨는 받침과 연하였고

7:34 And there were four supporters to the four corners of one base: and the supporters were of the very base itself.

7:35 받침 위에 둥근 테두리가 있는데 고가 반 규빗이요 또 받침 위의 버팀대와 옆판들이 받침과 연하였고

7:35 And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

7:36 버팀대 판과 옆판에는 각각 빈 곳을 따라 그룹들과 사자와 종려나무를 아로새겼고 또 그 사면으로 화환 모양이 있더라

7:36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

7:37 이와 같이 받침 열을 만들었는데 그 부어 만든 법과 척수와 식양을 다 동일하게 하였더라

7:37 After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.

7:38 또 물두멍 열을 놋으로 만들었는데 물두멍마다 각각 사십 밧을 담게 하였으며 매 물두멍의 직경이 네 규빗이라 열 받침 위에 각각 물두멍이 하나씩이더라

7:38 Then made he ten lavers of brass: one vessel that holds water contained forty baths: and every vessel that holds water was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one vessel that holds water.

7:39 그 받침 다섯은 전 우편에 두었고 다섯은 전 좌편에 두었고 전 우편 동남에는 그 바다를 두었더라

7:39 And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward opposite to the south.

7:40 ○ 히람이 또 물두멍과 부삽과 대접들을 만들었더라 이와 같이 히람이 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 여호와의 전의 모든 일을 마쳤으니

7:40 And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:

7:41 곧 기둥 둘과 그 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 머리 둘과 또 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 머리를 가리우는 그물 둘과

7:41 The two pillars, and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars;

7:42 또 그 그물들을 위하여 만든 바 매 그물에 두 줄씩으로 기둥 위의 공 같은 두 머리를 가리우게 한 사백 석류와

7:42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the pillars;

7:43 또 열 받침과 받침 위의 열 물두멍과

7:43 And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;

7:44 한 바다와 그 바다 아래 열 두 소와

7:44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

7:45 솥과 부삽과 대접들이라 히람이 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 여호와의 전에 이 모든 그릇을 빛난 놋으로 만드니라

7:45 And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.

7:46 왕이 요단 평지에서 숙곳과 사르단 사이의 차진 흙에 그것들을 부어 내었더라

7:46 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

7:47 기구가 심히 많으므로 솔로몬이 다 달지 아니하고 두었으니 그 놋 중수를 능히 측량할 수 없었더라

7:47 And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.

7:48 ○ 솔로몬이 또 여호와의 전의 모든 기구를 만들었으니 곧 금단과 진설병의 금상과

7:48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the showbread was,

7:49 내소 앞에 좌우로 다섯씩 둘 정금 등대며 또 금꽃과 등잔과 불집게며

7:49 And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

7:50 또 정금 대접과 불집게와 주발과 숟가락과 불을 옮기는 그릇이며 또 내소 곧 지성소 문의 금 돌쩌귀와 전 곧 외소 문의 금 돌쩌귀더라

7:50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to know, of the temple.

7:51 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 여호와의 전을 위하여 만드는 모든 것을 마친지라 이에 솔로몬이 그 부친 다윗의 드린 물건 곧 은과 금과 기구들을 가져다가 여호와의 전 곳간에 두었더라

7:51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.

 열왕기상 8장 / 1 Kings

8:1 이에 솔로몬이 여호와의 언약궤를 다윗 성 곧 시온에서 메어 올리고자 하여 이스라엘 장로와 모든 지파의 두목 곧 이스라엘 자손의 족장들을 예루살렘 자기에게로 소집하니

8:1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

8:2 이스라엘 모든 사람이 다 에다님월 곧 칠 월 절기에 솔로몬 왕에게 모이고

8:2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

8:3 이스라엘 장로들이 다 이르매 제사장들이 궤를 메니라

8:3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

8:4 여호와의 궤와 회막과 성막 안의 모든 거룩한 기구들을 메고 올라가되 제사장과 레위 사람이 그것들을 메고 올라가매

8:4 And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

8:5 솔로몬 왕과 그 앞에 모인 이스라엘 회중이 저와 함께 궤 앞에 있어 양과 소로 제사를 드렸으니 그 수가 많아 기록할 수도 없고 셀 수도 없었더라

8:5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

8:6 제사장들이 여호와의 언약궤를 그 처소로 메어 들였으니 곧 내전 지성소 그룹들의 날개 아래라

8:6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

8:7 그룹들이 궤 처소 위에서 날개를 펴서 궤와 그 채를 덮었는데

8:7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

8:8 채가 긴 고로 채 끝이 내전 앞 성소에서 보이나 밖에서는 보이지 아니하며 그 채는 오늘까지 그 곳에 있으며

8:8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

8:9 궤 안에는 두 돌판 외에 아무 것도 없으니 이것은 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 후 여호와께서 저희와 언약을 세우실 때에 모세가 호렙에서 그 안에 넣은 것이더라

8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

8:10 제사장이 성소에서 나올 때에 구름이 여호와의 전에 가득하매

8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

8:11 제사장이 그 구름으로 인하여 능히 서서 섬기지 못하였으니 이는 여호와의 영광이 여호와의 전에 가득함이었더라

8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

8:12 ○ 그 때에 솔로몬이 가로되 여호와께서 캄캄한 데 계시겠다 말씀하셨사오나

8:12 Then spoke Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

8:13 내가 참으로 주를 위하여 계실 전을 건축하였사오니 주께서 영원히 거하실 처소로소이다 하고

8:13 I have surely built you an house to dwell in, a settled place for you to abide in for ever.

8:14 얼굴을 돌이켜 이스라엘의 온 회중을 위하여 축복하니 때에 이스라엘의 온 회중이 섰더라

8:14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

8:15 왕이 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 송축할지로다 여호와께서 그 입으로 나의 부친 다윗에게 말씀하신 것을 이제 그 손으로 이루셨도다 이르시기를

8:15 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spoke with his mouth unto David my father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

8:16 내가 내 백성 이스라엘을 애굽에서 인도하여 낸 날부터 내 이름을 둘 만한 집을 건축하기 위하여 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 아무 성읍도 택하지 아니하고 다만 다윗을 택하여 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스리게 하였노라 하신지라

8:16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

8:17 내 부친 다윗이 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있었더니

8:17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

8:18 여호와께서 내 부친 다윗에게 이르시되 네가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있으니 이 마음이 네게 있는 것이 좋도다

8:18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in yours heart to build an house unto my name, you did well that it was in yours heart.

8:19 그러나 너는 그 전을 건축하지 못할 것이요 네 몸에서 낳을 네 아들 그가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하리라 하시더니

8:19 Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

8:20 이제 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 이루시도다 내가 여호와의 허하신 대로 내 부친 다윗을 대신하여 일어나서 이스라엘 위에 앉고 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하고

8:20 And the LORD has performed his word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

8:21 내가 또 그 곳에 우리 열조를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내실 때에 저희와 세우신 바 여호와의 언약 넣은 궤를 위하여 한 처소를 설치하였노라

8:21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

8:22 ○ 솔로몬이 여호와의 단 앞에서 이스라엘의 온 회중을 마주서서 하늘을 향하여 손을 펴고

8:22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

8:23 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 상천하지에 주와 같은 신이 없나이다 주께서는 온 마음으로 주의 앞에서 행하는 종들에게 언약을 지키시고 은혜를 베푸시나이다

8:23 And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

8:24 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 허하신 말씀을 지키사 주의 입으로 말씀하신 것을 손으로 이루심이 오늘날과 같으니이다

8:24 Who have kept with your servant David my father that you promised him: you spoke also with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with yours hand, as it is this day.

8:25 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 말씀하시기를 네 자손이 자기 길을 삼가서 네가 내 앞에서 행한 것 같이 내 앞에서 행하기만 하면 네게로 좇아나서 이스라엘 위에 앉을 사람이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하리라 하셨사오니 이제 다윗을 위하여 그 허하신 말씀을 지키시옵소서

8:25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that you promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that your children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as you have walked before me.

8:26 그런즉 이스라엘 하나님이여 원컨대 주는 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 하신 말씀이 확실하게 하옵소서

8:26 And now, O God of Israel, let your word, I pray you, be verified, which you spoke unto your servant David my father.

8:27 ○ 하나님이 참으로 땅에 거하시리이까 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘이라도 주를 용납지 못하겠거든 하물며 내가 건축한 이 전이오리이까

8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?

8:28 그러나 나의 하나님 여호와여 종의 기도와 간구를 돌아보시며 종이 오늘날 주의 앞에서 부르짖음과 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서

8:28 Yet have you respect unto the prayer of your servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which your servant prays before you to day:

8:29 주께서 전에 말씀하시기를 내 이름이 거기 있으리라 하신 곳 이 전을 향하여 주의 눈이 주야로 보옵시며 종이 이곳을 향하여 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서

8:29 That yours eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, My name shall be there: that you may hearken unto the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

8:30 종과 주의 백성 이스라엘이 이곳을 향하여 기도할 때에 주는 그 간구함을 들으시되 주의 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 들으시사 사하여 주옵소서

8:30 And hearken you to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear you in heaven your dwelling place: and when you hear, forgive.

8:31 ○ 만일 어떤 사람이 그 이웃에게 범죄함으로 맹세시킴을 받고 저가 와서 이 전에 있는 주의 단 앞에서 맹세하거든

8:31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before yours altar in this house:

8:32 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 행하시되 주의 종들을 국문하사 악한 자의 죄를 정하여 그 행위대로 그 머리에 돌리시고 의로운 자를 의롭다 하사 그 의로운 대로 갚으시옵소서

8:32 Then hear you in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

8:33 ○ 만일 주의 백성 이스라엘이 주께 범죄하여 적국 앞에 패하게 되므로 주께로 돌아와서 주의 이름을 인정하고 이 전에서 주께 빌며 간구하거든

8:33 When your people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall return to you, and confess your name, and pray, and make supplication unto you in this house:

8:34 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 사하시고 그 열조에게 주신 땅으로 돌아오게 하옵소서

8:34 Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which you gave unto their fathers.

8:35 ○ 만일 저희가 주께 범죄함을 인하여 하늘이 닫히고 비가 없어서 주의 벌을 받을 때에 이곳을 향하여 빌며 주의 이름을 인정하고 그 죄에서 떠나거든

8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

8:36 주는 하늘에서 들으사 주의 종들과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 사하시고 그 마땅히 행할 선한 길을 가르쳐 주옵시며 주의 백성에게 기업으로 주신 주의 땅에 비를 내리시옵소서

8:36 Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, that you teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

8:37 ○ 만일 이 땅에 기근이나 온역이 있거나 곡식이 시들거나 깜부기가 나거나 메뚜기나 황충이 나거나 적국이 와서 성읍을 에워싸거나 무슨 재앙이나 무슨 질병이 있든지 무론하고

8:37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

8:38 한 사람이나 혹 주의 온 백성 이스라엘이 다 각각 자기의 마음에 재앙을 깨닫고 이 전을 향하여 손을 펴고 무슨 기도나 무슨 간구를 하거든

8:38 What prayer and supplication whatsoever be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

8:39 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 사유하시며 각 사람의 마음을 아시오니 그 모든 행위대로 행하사 갚으시옵소서 주만 홀로 인생의 마음을 다 아심이니이다

8:39 Then hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men;)

8:40 그리하시면 저희가 주께서 우리 열조에게 주신 땅에서 사는 동안에 항상 주를 경외하리이다

8:40 That they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave unto our fathers.

8:41 ○ 또 주의 백성 이스라엘에 속하지 아니한 자 곧 주의 이름을 위하여 먼 지방에서 온 이방인이라도

8:41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of your people Israel, but comes out of a far country for your name's sake;

8:42 저희가 주의 광대한 이름과 주의 능한 손과 주의 펴신 팔의 소문을 듣고 와서 이 전을 향하여 기도하거든

8:42 (For they shall hear of your great name, and of your strong hand, and of your stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

8:43 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 무릇 이방인이 주께 부르짖는 대로 이루사 땅의 만민으로 주의 이름을 알고 주의 백성 이스라엘처럼 경외하게 하옵시며 또 내가 건축한 이 전을 주의 이름으로 일컫는 줄을 알게 하옵소서

8:43 Hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: that all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.

8:44 ○ 주의 백성이 그 적국으로 더불어 싸우고자 하여 주의 보내신 길로 나갈 때에 저희가 주의 빼신 성과 내가 주의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전 있는 편을 향하여 여호와께 기도하거든

8:44 If your people go out to battle against their enemy, anywhere you shall send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name:

8:45 주는 하늘에서 저희의 기도와 간구를 들으시고 그 일을 돌아보옵소서

8:45 Then hear you in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

8:46 ○ 범죄치 아니하는 사람이 없사오니 저희가 주께 범죄함으로 주께서 저희에게 진노하사 저희를 적국에게 붙이시매 적국이 저희를 사로잡아 원근을 물론하고 적국의 땅으로 끌어간 후에

8:46 If they sin against you, (for there is no man that sins not,) and you be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

8:47 저희가 사로잡혀 간 땅에서 스스로 깨닫고 그 사로잡은 자의 땅에서 돌이켜 주께 간구하기를 우리가 범죄하여 패역을 행하며 악을 지었나이다 하며

8:47 Yet if they shall call to reflect themselves in the land where they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto you in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

8:48 자기를 사로잡아 간 적국의 땅에서 온 마음과 온 뜻으로 주께 돌아와서 주께서 그 열조에게 주신 땅 곧 주의 빼신 성과 내가 주의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전 있는 편을 향하여 주께 기도하거든

8:48 And so return unto you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto you toward their land, which you gave unto their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:

8:49 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 저희 기도와 간구를 들으시고 저희의 일을 돌아보옵시며

8:49 Then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

8:50 주께 범죄한 백성을 용서하시며 주께 범한 그 모든 허물을 사하시고 저희를 사로잡아 간 자의 앞에서 저희로 불쌍히 여김을 얻게 하사 그 사람들로 저희를 불쌍히 여기게 하옵소서

8:50 And forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

8:51 저희는 주께서 철 풀무 같은 애굽에서 인도하여 내신 주의 백성, 주의 산업이 됨이니이다

8:51 For they be your people, and yours inheritance, which you brought forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

8:52 원컨대 주는 눈을 들어 종의 간구함과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 간구함을 보시고 무릇 주께 부르짖는 대로 들으시옵소서

8:52 That yours eyes may be open unto the supplication of your servant, and unto the supplication of your people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto you.

8:53 주 여호와여 주께서 우리 조상을 애굽에서 인도하여 내실 때에 주의 종 모세로 말씀하심 같이 주께서 세상 만민 가운데서 저희를 구별하여 주의 산업을 삼으셨나이다

8:53 For you did separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be yours inheritance, as you spoke by the hand of Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

8:54 ○ 솔로몬이 무릎을 끓고 손을 펴서 하늘을 향하여 이 기도와 간구로 여호와께 아뢰기를 마치고 여호와의 단 앞에서 일어나

8:54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

8:55 서서 큰 소리로 이스라엘의 온 회중을 위하여 축복하며 가로되

8:55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

8:56 여호와를 찬송할지로다 저가 무릇 허하신 대로 그 백성 이스라엘에게 태평을 주셨으니 그 종 모세를 빙자하여 무릇 허하신 그 선한 말씀이 하나도 이루지 않음이 없도다

8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that has given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

8:57 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리 열조와 함께 계시던 것 같이 우리와 함께 계시옵고 우리를 떠나지 마옵시며 버리지 마옵시고

8:57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

8:58 우리의 마음을 자기에게로 향하여 그 모든 길로 행하게 하옵시며 우리 열조에게 명하신 계명과 법도와 율례를 지키게 하시기를 원하오며

8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

8:59 여호와의 앞에서 나의 간구한 이 말씀을 주야로 우리 하나님 여호와께 가까이 있게 하옵시고 또 주의 종의 일과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 일을 날마다 당하는 대로 돌아보사

8:59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

8:60 이에 세상 만민에게 여호와께서만 하나님이시고 그 외에는 없는 줄을 알게 하시기를 원하노라

8:60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

8:61 ○ 그런즉 너희 마음을 우리 하나님 여호와와 화합하여 완전케 하여 오늘날과 같이 그 법도를 행하며 그 계명을 지킬지어다

8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

8:62 이에 왕과 왕과 함께 한 이스라엘이 다 여호와 앞에 희생을 드리니라

8:62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

8:63 솔로몬이 화목제의 희생을 드렸으니 곧 여호와께 드린 소가 이만 이천이요 양이 십이만이라 이와 같이 왕과 모든 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 전의 낙성식을 행하였는데

8:63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

8:64 그 날에 왕이 여호와의 전 앞뜰 가운데를 거룩히 구별하고 거기서 번제와 소제와 감사제의 기름을 드렸으니 이는 여호와의 앞 놋단이 작으므로 번제물과 소제물과 화목제의 기름을 다 용납할 수 없음이라

8:64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and food offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and food offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

8:65 그 때에 솔로몬이 칠 일 칠 일 합 십 사 일을 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 절기로 지켰는데 하맛 어귀에서부터 애굽 하수까지의 온 이스라엘의 큰 회중이 모여 저와 함께 하였더니

8:65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

8:66 제 팔 일에 솔로몬이 백성을 돌려보내매 백성이 왕을 위하여 축복하고 자기 장막으로 돌아가는데 여호와께서 그 종 다윗과 그 백성 이스라엘에게 베푸신 모든 은혜를 인하여 기뻐하며 마음에 즐거워하였더라

8:66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

 열왕기상 9장 / 1 Kings

9:1 솔로몬이 여호와의 전과 왕궁 건축하기를 마치며 자기의 무릇 이루기를 원하던 일이 마친 때에

9:1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,

9:2 여호와께서 전에 기브온에서 나타나심 같이 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나사

9:2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

9:3 저에게 이르시되 네가 내 앞에서 기도하며 간구함을 내가 들었은즉 내가 너의 건축한 이 전을 거룩하게 구별하여 나의 이름을 영영히 그 곳에 두며 나의 눈과 나의 마음이 항상 거기 있으리니

9:3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me: I have hallowed this house, which you have built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

9:4 네가 만일 네 아비 다윗의 행함 같이 마음을 온전히 하고 바르게 하여 내 앞에서 행하며 내가 네게 명한 대로 온갖 것을 순종하여 나의 법도와 율례를 지키면

9:4 And if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my judgments:

9:5 내가 네 아비 다윗에게 허하여 이르기를 이스라엘 위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 한 대로 너의 이스라엘의 왕위를 영원히 견고하게 하려니와

9:5 Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.

9:6 만일 너희나 너희 자손이 아주 돌이켜 나를 좇지 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 나의 계명과 법도를 지키지 아니하고 가서 다른 신을 섬겨 그것을 숭배하면

9:6 But if all of you shall at all turn from following me, all of you or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

9:7 내가 이스라엘을 나의 준 땅에서 끊어 버릴 것이요 내 이름을 위하여 내가 거룩하게 구별한 이 전이라도 내 앞에서 던져버리리니 이스라엘은 모든 민족 가운데 속담거리와 이야기거리가 될 것이며

9:7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

9:8 이 전이 높을지라도 무릇 그리로 지나가는 자가 놀라며 비웃어 가로되 여호와께서 무슨 까닭으로 이 땅과 이 전에 이같이 행하셨는고 하면

9:8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why has the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?

9:9 대답하기를 저희가 자기 열조를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 자기 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신에게 부종하여 그를 숭배하여 섬기므로 여호와께서 이 모든 재앙을 저희에게 내리심이라 하리라 하셨더라

9:9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore has the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

9:10 ○ 솔로몬이 두 집 곧 여호와의 전과 왕궁을 이십 년 만에 건축하기를 마치고

9:10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king's house,

9:11 갈릴리 땅의 성읍 이십을 히람에게 주었으니 이는 두로 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 그 온갖 소원대로 백향목과 잣나무와 금을 지공하였음이라

9:11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

9:12 히람이 두로에서 와서 솔로몬이 자기에게 준 성읍들을 보고 눈에 들지 아니하여

9:12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.

9:13 이르기를 나의 형이여 내게 준 이 성읍들이 이러하뇨 하고 이름하여 가불 땅이라 하였더니 그 이름이 오늘까지 있으니라

9:13 And he said, What cities are these which you have given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

9:14 히람이 금 일백 이십 달란트를 왕에게 보내었더라

9:14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

9:15 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 역군을 일으킨 까닭은 여호와의 전과 자기 궁과 밀로와 예루살렘 성과 하솔과 므깃도와 게셀을 건축하려 하였음이라

9:15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; in order to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

9:16 전에 애굽 왕 바로가 올라와서 게셀을 탈취하여 불사르고 그 성에 사는 가나안 사람을 죽이고 그 성읍을 자기 딸 솔로몬의 아내에게 예물로 주었더니

9:16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon's wife.

9:17 솔로몬이 게셀과 아래 벧호론을 건축하고

9:17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,

9:18 또 바알랏과 그 땅의 들에 있는 다드몰과

9:18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,

9:19 자기에게 있는 모든 국고성과 병거성들과 마병의 성들을 건축하고 솔로몬이 또 예루살렘과 레바논과 그 다스리는 온 땅에 건축하고자 하던 것을 다 건축하였는데

9:19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

9:20 무릇 이스라엘 자손이 아닌 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람의 남아 있는 자

9:20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,

9:21 곧 이스라엘 자손이 다 멸하지 못하므로 그 땅에 남아 있는 그 자손들을 솔로몬이 노예로 역군을 삼아 오늘까지 이르렀으되

9:21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservants unto this day.

9:22 오직 이스라엘 자손은 솔로몬이 노예를 삼지 아니하였으니 저희는 군사와 그 신복과 방백과 대장이며 병거와 마병의 장관이 됨이었더라

9:22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

9:23 ○ 솔로몬에게 역사를 감독하는 두목 오백 오십 인이 있어 역사하는 백성을 다스렸더라

9:23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

9:24 ○ 바로의 딸이 다윗 성에서부터 올라와 솔로몬이 저를 위하여 건축한 궁에 이를 때에 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하였더라

9:24 But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

9:25 ○ 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 쌓은 단 위에 해마다 세 번씩 번제와 감사제를 드리고 또 여호와 앞에 있는 단에 분향하니라 이에 전 역사가 마치니라

9:25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.

9:26 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 에돔 땅 홍해 물 가 엘롯 근처 에시온게벨에서 배들을 지은지라

9:26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

9:27 히람이 자기 종 곧 바다에 익숙한 사공들을 솔로몬의 종과 함께 그 배로 보내매

9:27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

9:28 저희가 오빌에 이르러 거기서 금 사백 이십 달란트를 얻고 솔로몬 왕에게로 가져왔더라

9:28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

 열왕기상 10장 / 1 Kings

10:1 스바 여왕이 여호와의 이름으로 말미암은 솔로몬의 명예를 듣고 와서 어려운 문제로 저를 시험코자 하여

10:1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

10:2 예루살렘에 이르니 수원이 심히 많고 향품과 심히 많은 금과 보석을 약대에 실었더라 저가 솔로몬에게 나아와 자기 마음에 있는 것을 다 말하매

10:2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

10:3 솔로몬이 그 묻는 말을 다 대답하였으니 왕이 은미하여 대답지 못한 것이 없었더라

10:3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.

10:4 스바 여왕이 솔로몬의 모든 지혜와 그 건축한 궁과

10:4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

10:5 그 상의 식물과 그 신복들의 좌석과 그 신하들의 시립한 것과 그들의 공복과 술 관원들과 여호와의 전에 올라가는 층계를 보고 정신이 현황하여

10:5 And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

10:6 왕께 고하되 내가 내 나라에서 당신의 행위와 당신의 지혜에 대하여 들은 소문이 진실하도다

10:6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of your acts and of your wisdom.

10:7 내가 그 말들을 믿지 아니하였더니 이제 와서 목도한즉 내게 말한 것은 절반도 못되니 당신의 지혜와 복이 나의 들은 소문에 지나도다

10:7 Nevertheless I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: your wisdom and prosperity exceeds the fame which I heard.

10:8 복되도다 당신의 사람들이여 복되도다 당신의 이 신복들이여 항상 당신의 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜를 들음이로다

10:8 Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, which stand continually before you, and that hear your wisdom.

10:9 당신의 하나님 여호와를 송축할지로다 여호와께서 당신을 기뻐하사 이스라엘 위에 올리셨고 여호와께서 영영히 이스라엘을 사랑하시므로 당신을 세워 왕을 삼아 공과 의를 행하게 하셨도다 하고

10:9 Blessed be the LORD your God, which delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he you king, to do judgment and justice.

10:10 이에 저가 금 일백 이십 달란트와 심히 많은 향품과 보석을 왕께 드렸으니 스바 여왕이 솔로몬 왕께 드린 것처럼 많은 향품이 다시 오지 아니하였더라

10:10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

10:11 ○ [오빌에서부터 금을 실어 온 히람의 배들이 오빌에서 많은 백단목과 보석을 운반하여 오매

10:11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

10:12 왕이 백단목으로 여호와의 전과 왕궁의 난간을 만들고 또 노래하는 자를 위하여 수금과 비파를 만들었으니 이같은 백단목은 전에도 온 일이 없었고 오늘까지도 보지 못하였더라]

10:12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.

10:13 솔로몬 왕이 왕의 규례대로 스바 여왕에게 물건을 준 외에 또 저의 소원대로 무릇 구하는 것을 주니 이에 저가 그 신복들로 더불어 본국으로 돌아갔더라

10:13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.

10:14 ○ 솔로몬의 세입금의 중수가 육백 육십 육 금 달란트요

10:14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

10:15 그 외에 또 상고와 무역하는 객상과 아라비아 왕들과 나라의 방백들에게서도 가져온지라

10:15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the trade of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.

10:16 솔로몬 왕이 쳐서 늘인 금으로 큰 방패 이백을 만들었으니 매 방패에 든 금이 육백 세겔이며

10:16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.

10:17 또 쳐서 늘인 금으로 작은 방패 삼백을 만들었으니 매 방패에 든 금이 삼 마네라 왕이 이것들을 레바논 나무 궁에 두었더라

10:17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

10:18 왕이 또 상아로 큰 보좌를 만들고 정금으로 입혔으니

10:18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

10:19 그 보좌에는 여섯 층계가 있고 보좌 뒤에 둥근 머리가 있고 앉는 자리 양편에는 팔걸이가 있고 팔걸이 곁에는 사자가 하나씩 섰으며

10:19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.

10:20 또 열 두 사자가 있어 그 여섯 층계 좌우편에 섰으니 아무 나라에도 이같이 만든 것이 없었더라

10:20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

10:21 솔로몬 왕의 마시는 그릇은 다 금이요 레바논 나무 궁의 그릇들도 다 정금이라 은 기물이 없으니 솔로몬의 시대에 은을 귀히 여기지 아니함은

10:21 And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

10:22 왕이 바다에 다시스 배들을 두어 히람의 배와 함께 있게 하고 그 다시스 배로 삼 년에 일 차씩 금과 은과 상아와 잔나비와 공작을 실어 왔음이더라

10:22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

10:23 ○ 솔로몬 왕의 재산과 지혜가 천하 열왕보다 큰지라

10:23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

10:24 천하가 다 하나님께서 솔로몬의 마음에 주신 지혜를 들으며 그 얼굴을 보기 원하여

10:24 And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

10:25 각기 예물을 가지고 왔으니 곧 은 그릇과 금 그릇과 의복과 갑옷과 향품과 말과 노새라 해마다 정한 수가 있었더라

10:25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

10:26 ○ 솔로몬이 병거와 마병을 모으매 병거가 일천 사백이요 마병이 일만 이천이라 병거성에도 두고 예루살렘 왕에게도 두었으며

10:26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.

10:27 왕이 예루살렘에서 은을 돌 같이 흔하게 하고 백향목을 평지의 뽕나무 같이 많게 하였더라

10:27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.

10:28 솔로몬의 말들은 애굽에서 내어왔으니 왕의 상고들이 떼로 정가하여 산 것이며

10:28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

10:29 애굽에서 내어올린 병거는 하나에 은 육백 세겔이요 말은 일백 오십 세겔이라 이와 같이 헷 사람의 모든 왕과 아람 왕들을 위하여도 그 손으로 내어왔더라

10:29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.

 열왕기상 11장 / 1 Kings

11:1 솔로몬 왕이 바로의 딸 외에 이방의 많은 여인을 사랑하였으니 곧 모압과 암몬과 에돔과 시돈과 헷 여인이라

11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:

11:2 여호와께서 일찌기 이 여러 국민에게 대하여 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하시기를 너희는 저희와 서로 통하지 말며 저희도 너희와 서로 통하게 말라 저희가 정녕코 너희의 마음을 돌이켜 저희의 신들을 좇게 하리라 하셨으나 솔로몬이 저희를 연애하였더라

11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, All of you shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

11:3 왕은 후비가 칠백 인이요 빈장이 삼백 인이라 왕비들이 왕의 마음을 돌이켰더라

11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

11:4 솔로몬의 나이 늙을 때에 왕비들이 그 마음을 돌이켜 다른 신들을 좇게 하였으므로 왕의 마음이 그 부친 다윗의 마음과 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으니

11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

11:5 이는 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯을 좇고 암몬 사람의 가증한 밀곰을 좇음이라

11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

11:6 솔로몬이 여호와의 눈 앞에서 악을 행하여 그 부친 다윗이 여호와를 온전히 좇음 같이 좇지 아니하고

11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

11:7 모압의 가증한 그모스를 위하여 예루살렘 앞 산에 산당을 지었고 또 암몬 자손의 가증한 몰록을 위하여 그와 같이 하였으며

11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

11:8 저가 또 이족 후비들을 위하여 다 그와 같이 한지라 저희가 자기의 신들에게 분향하며 제사하였더라

11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

11:9 ○ 솔로몬이 마음을 돌이켜 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 떠나므로 여호와께서 저에게 진노하시니라 여호와께서 일찌기 두 번이나 저에게 나타나시고

11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

11:10 이 일에 대하여 명하사 다른 신을 좇지 말라 하셨으나 저가 여호와의 명령을 지키지 않았으므로

11:10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

11:11 여호와께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하시되 네게 이러한 일이 있었고 또 네가 나의 언약과 내가 네게 명한 법도를 지키지 아니하였으니 내가 결단코 이 나라를 네게서 빼앗아 네 신복에게 주리라

11:11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.

11:12 그러나 네 아비 다윗을 위하여 네 세대에는 이 일을 행치 아니하고 네 아들의 손에서 빼앗으려니와

11:12 Notwithstanding in your days I will not do it for David your father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of your son.

11:13 오직 내가 이 나라를 다 빼앗지 아니하고 나의 종 다윗과 나의 뺀 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 네 아들에게 주리라 하셨더라

11:13 Nevertheless I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to your son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

11:14 ○ 여호와께서 에돔 사람 하닷을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 왕의 자손으로서 에돔에 거하였더라

11:14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.

11:15 전에 다윗이 에돔에 있을 때에 군대 장관 요압이 가서 죽임을 당한 자들을 장사하고 에돔의 남자를 다 쳐서 죽였는데

11:15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;

11:16 요압은 에돔의 남자를 다 없이 하기까지 이스라엘 무리와 함께 여섯 달을 그 곳에 유하였었더라

11:16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)

11:17 그 때에 하닷은 작은 아이라 그 아비의 신복 중 두어 에돔 사람과 함께 도망하여 애굽으로 가려 하여

11:17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.

11:18 미디안에서 발행하여 바란에 이르고 거기서 사람을 데리고 애굽으로 가서 애굽 왕 바로에게 나아가매 바로가 저에게 집을 주고 먹을 양식을 정하며 또 토지를 주었더라

11:18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

11:19 하닷이 바로의 눈 앞에 크게 은총을 얻었으므로 바로가 자기의 처제 곧 왕비 다브네스의 아우로 저의 아내를 삼으매

11:19 And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

11:20 다브네스의 아우가 그로 말미암아 아들 그누밧을 낳았더니 다브네스가 그 아이를 바로의 궁중에서 젖을 떼게 하매 그누밧이 바로의 궁에서 바로의 아들 가운데 있었더라

11:20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

11:21 하닷이 애굽에 있어서 다윗이 그 열조와 함께 잔 것과 군대 장관 요압의 죽은 것을 듣고 바로에게 고하되 나를 보내어 내 고국으로 가게 하옵소서

11:21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.

11:22 바로가 저에게 이르되 네가 나와 함께 있어 무슨 부족함이 있기에 네 고국으로 가기를 구하느뇨 대답하되 없나이다 그러나 아무쪼록 나를 보내옵소서 하였더라

11:22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what have you lacked with me, that, behold, you seek to go to yours own country? And he answered, Nothing: nevertheless let me go in any way.

11:23 ○ 하나님이 또 엘리아다의 아들 르손을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 그 주인 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 도망한 자라

11:23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

11:24 다윗이 소바 사람을 죽일 때에 르손이 사람들을 모으고 그 떼의 괴수가 되며 다메섹으로 가서 웅거하고 거기서 왕이 되었더라

11:24 And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.

11:25 솔로몬의 일평생에 하닷의 끼친 환난 외에 르손이 수리아 왕이 되어 이스라엘을 대적하고 미워하였더라

11:25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.

11:26 ○ 솔로몬의 신복 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 또한 손을 들어 왕을 대적하였으니 저는 에브라임 족속인 스레다 사람이요 그 어미의 이름은 스루아니 과부더라

11:26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.

11:27 저가 손을 들어 왕을 대적하는 까닭은 이러하니라 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하고 그 부친 다윗의 성의 무너진 것을 수축하였는데

11:27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.

11:28 이 사람 여로보암은 큰 용사라 솔로몬이 이 소년의 부지런함을 보고 세워 요셉 족속의 역사를 감독하게 하였더니

11:28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

11:29 그 즈음에 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나갈 때에 실로 사람 선지자 아히야가 길에서 저를 만나니 아히야가 새 의복을 입었고 그 두 사람만 들에 있었더라

11:29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:

11:30 아히야가 그 입은 새 옷을 잡아 열 두 조각에 찢고

11:30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:

11:31 여로보암에게 이르되 너는 열 조각을 취하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 이 나라를 솔로몬의 손에서 찢어 빼앗아 열 지파를 네게 주고

11:31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take you ten pieces: for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you:

11:32 오직 내 종 다윗을 위하고 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 뺀 성 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 솔로몬에게 주리니

11:32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)

11:33 이는 저희가 나를 버리고 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯과 모압의 신 그모스와 암몬 자손의 신 밀곰을 숭배하며 그 아비 다윗의 행함 같지 아니하여 내 길로 행치 아니하며 나 보기에 정직한 일과 나의 법도와 나의 율례를 행치 아니함이니라

11:33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

11:34 그러나 내가 뺀 내 종 다윗이 내 명령과 내 법도를 지켰으므로 내가 저를 위하여 솔로몬의 생전에는 온 나라를 그 손에서 빼앗지 아니하고 주관하게 하려니와

11:34 Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:

11:35 내가 그 아들의 손에서 나라를 빼앗아 그 열 지파를 네게 줄 것이요

11:35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto you, even ten tribes.

11:36 그 아들에게는 내가 한 지파를 주어서 내가 내 이름을 두고자 하여 택한 성 예루살렘에서 내 종 다윗에게 한 등불이 항상 내 앞에 있게 하리라

11:36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.

11:37 내가 너를 취하리니 너는 무릇 네 마음에 원하는 대로 다스려 이스라엘 위에 왕이 되되

11:37 And I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.

11:38 네가 만일 내가 명한 모든 일에 순종하고 내 길로 행하며 내 눈에 합당한 일을 하며 내 종 다윗의 행함 같이 내 율례와 명령을 지키면 내가 너와 함께 있어 내가 다윗을 위하여 세운 것 같이 너를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우고 이스라엘을 네게 주리라

11:38 And it shall be, if you will hearken unto all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto you.

11:39 내가 이로 인하여 다윗의 자손을 괴롭게 할 터이나 영원히 하지는 아니하리라 하셨느니라 한지라

11:39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.

11:40 이러므로 솔로몬이 여로보암을 죽이려 하매 여로보암이 일어나 애굽으로 도망하여 애굽 왕 시삭에게 이르러 솔로몬의 죽기까지 애굽에 있으니라

11:40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

11:41 ○ 솔로몬의 남은 사적과 무릇 저의 행한 일과 그 지혜는 솔로몬의 행장에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

11:41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?

11:42 솔로몬이 예루살렘에서 온 이스라엘을 다스린 날 수가 사십 년이라

11:42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

11:43 솔로몬이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 부친 다윗의 성에 장사되고 그 아들 르호보암이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

11:43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his position.
