1:1 ÀÌ´Â ¸ð¼¼°¡ ¿ä´Ü ÀúÆí ½£ ¸ÂÀºÆíÀÇ ¾Æ¶ó¹Ù ±¤¾ß °ð ¹Ù¶õ°ú µµº§°ú ¶ó¹Ý°ú Çϼ¼·Ô°ú µð»çÇÕ »çÀÌ¿¡¼­ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¹«¸®¿¡°Ô ¼±Æ÷ÇÑ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó

1:1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah over against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

1:2 È£·¾ »ê¿¡¼­ ¼¼ÀÏ »êÀ» Áö³ª °¡µ¥½º ¹Ù³×¾Æ¿¡±îÁö ¿­ ÇÏ·í±æÀ̾ú´õ¶ó

1:2 It is eleven days' [journey] from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.

1:3 Á¦ »ç½Ê ³â ½Ê ÀÏ ¿ù ±× ´Þ ÃÊÀÏ ÀÏ¿¡ ¸ð¼¼°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õ¿¡°Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×µéÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© Àڱ⿡°Ô ÁֽŠ¸í·ÉÀ» ´Ù °íÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï

1:3 It happened in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel, according to all that Yahweh had given him in commandment to them;

1:4 ¶§´Â ¸ð¼¼°¡ Ç콺º»¿¡ °ÅÇÏ´Â ¾Æ¸ð¸® ¿Õ ½ÃÈ¥À» ÃÄÁ×ÀÌ°í ¿¡µå·¹ÀÌ¿¡¼­ ¾Æ½º´Ù·Ô¿¡ °ÅÇÏ´Â ¹Ù»ê ¿Õ ¿ÁÀ» ÃÄÁ×ÀÎ ÈĶó

1:4 after he had struck Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth, at Edrei.

1:5 ¸ð¼¼°¡ ¿ä´Ü ÀúÆí ¸ð¾Ð ¶¥¿¡¼­ ÀÌ À²¹ý ¼³¸íÇϱ⸦ ½ÃÀÛÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó ÀÏ·¶À¸µÇ

1:5 Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

1:6 Yahweh our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying, You have lived long enough in this mountain:

1:7 ¹æÇâÀ» µ¹·Á ÁøÇàÇÏ¿© ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼ÓÀÇ »êÁö·Î °¡°í ±× ±ÙÁö °÷°÷À¸·Î °¡°í ¾Æ¶ó¹Ù¿Í »êÁö¿Í ÆòÁö¿Í ³²¹æ°ú Çغ¯°ú °¡³ª¾È Á·¼ÓÀÇ ¶¥°ú ·¹¹Ù³í°ú Å« °­ À¯ºê¶óµ¥±îÁö °¡¶ó Çϼ̳ª´Ï

1:7 turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all [the places] near there, in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South, and by the seashore, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.

1:8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them."

1:9 spoke to you at that time, saying, "I am not able to bear you myself alone:

1:10 Yahweh your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day as the stars of the sky for multitude.

1:11 ³ÊÈñ ¿­Á¶ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ÇöÀ纸´Ù õ ¹è³ª ¸¹°Ô ÇÏ½Ã¸ç ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô Çã¶ôÇϽŠ°Í°ú °°ÀÌ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô º¹ Áֽñ⸦ ¿øÇϳë¶ó

1:11 Yahweh, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are, and bless you, as he has promised you!

1:12 How can I myself alone bear your encumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?

1:13 Take wise men of understanding and well known according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you."

1:14 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´ë´äÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¸»¾¸´ë·Î ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ ÁÁ´Ù Çϱ⿡

1:14 You answered me, and said, "The thing which you have spoken is good [for us] to do."

1:15 So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes.

1:16 commanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear [the causes] between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the foreigner who is living with him.

1:17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike; you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.

1:18 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÇàÇÒ ¸ðµç ÀÏÀ» ±×¶§¿¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ´Ù ¸íÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó

1:18 commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.

1:19 ¡Û ¿ì¸® Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ¸íÇϽŠ´ë·Î ¿ì¸®°¡ È£·¾ »ê¿¡¼­ ¹ßÇàÇÏ¿© ³ÊÈñÀÇ º» ¹Ù Å©°í µÎ·Á¿î ±¤¾ß¸¦ Áö³ª ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼Ó »êÁö ±æ·Î °¡µ¥½º ¹Ù³×¾Æ¿¡ À̸¥ ¶§¿¡

1:19 We traveled from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as Yahweh our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.

1:20 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£±â¸¦ ¿ì¸® Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÁֽŠ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼ÓÀÇ »êÁö¿¡ ³ÊÈñ°¡ À̸£·¶³ª´Ï

1:20 said to you, "You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which Yahweh our God gives to us.

1:21 ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ÀÌ ¶¥À» ³ÊÈñ ¾Õ¿¡ µÎ¼ÌÀºÁï ³ÊÈñ ¿­Á¶ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£½Å ´ë·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡¼­ ¾òÀ¸¶ó µÎ·Á¿ö ¸»¶ó ÁÖÀúÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó ÇÑÁï

1:21 Behold, Yahweh your God has set the land before you: go up, take possession, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has spoken to you; don't be afraid, neither be dismayed."

1:22 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´Ù ³» ¾ÕÀ¸·Î ³ª¾Æ¿Í ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿ì¸®°¡ »ç¶÷À» ¿ì¸® ¾Õ¼­ º¸³»¾î ¿ì¸®¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ±× ¶¥À» Á¤Å½ÇÏ°í ¾î´À ±æ·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡¾ß ÇÒ °Í°ú ¾î´À ¼ºÀ¾À¸·Î µé¾î°¡¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀ» ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ȸº¸ÄÉ ÇÏÀÚ Çϱ⿡

1:22 You came near to me everyone of you, and said, "Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come."

1:23 ³»°¡ ±× ¸»À» ¼±È÷ ¿©°Ü ³ÊÈñ Áß¿¡¼­ ¸Å ÁöÆÄ¿¡ ÇÑ »ç¶÷¾¿ ¿­ µÑÀ» ÅÃÇϸÅ

1:23 The thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of you, one man for every tribe:

1:24 ±×µéÀÌ ¾ÕÀ¸·Î °¡¼­ »êÁö¿¡ ¿Ã¶ó ¿¡½º°ñ °ñÂ¥±â¿¡ À̸£·¯ ±× °÷À» Á¤Å½ÇÏ°í

1:24 and they turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.

1:25 ±× ¶¥ÀÇ °ú½ÇÀ» ¼Õ¿¡ °¡Áö°í ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô·Î µ¹¾Æ¿Í¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ȸº¸ÇÏ¿© À̸£µÇ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô Áֽô ¶¥ÀÌ ÁÁ´õ¶ó ÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó

1:25 They took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, "It is a good land which Yahweh our God gives to us."

1:26 ±×·¯³ª ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿Ã¶ó°¡±â¸¦ Áñ°Ü ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸íÀ» °Å¿ªÇÏ¿©

1:26 Yet you wouldn't go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God:

1:27 À帷 Áß¿¡¼­ ¿ø¸ÁÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¹Ì¿öÇϽô °í·Î ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼ÓÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙ¿© ¸êÇϽ÷Á°í ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¾Ö±Á ¶¥¿¡¼­ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»¼Ìµµ´Ù

1:27 and you murmured in your tents, and said, "Because Yahweh hated us, he has brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

1:28 Where are we going up? our brothers have made our heart to melt, saying, 'The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to the sky; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.'"

1:29 Then I said to you, "Don't dread, neither be afraid of them.

1:30 Yahweh your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

1:31 and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that Yahweh your God bore you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place."

1:32 Yet in this thing you didn't believe Yahweh your God,

1:33 ±×´Â ³ÊÈñ ¾Õ¼­ ÇàÇϽøç À帷 Ä¥ °÷À» ãÀ¸½Ã°í ¹ã¿¡´Â ºÒ·Î, ³·¿¡´Â ±¸¸§À¸·Î ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÇàÇÒ ±æÀ» Áö½ÃÇϽŠÀڴ϶ó

1:33 who went before you in the way, to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go, and in the cloud by day.

1:34 ¡Û ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ¸»¼Ò¸®¸¦ µéÀ¸½Ã°í ³ëÇÏ»ç ¸Í¼¼ÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë

1:34 Yahweh heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,

1:35 ÀÌ ¾ÇÇÑ ¼¼´ë »ç¶÷µé Áß¿¡´Â ³»°¡ ±×µéÀÇ ¿­Á¶¿¡°Ô ÁÖ±â·Î ¸Í¼¼ÇÑ ÁÁÀº ¶¥À» º¼ ÀÚ°¡ Çϳªµµ ¾øÀ¸¸®¶ó

1:35 Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land, which I swore to give to your fathers,

1:36 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh: he shall see it; and to him will I give the land that he has trodden on, and to his children, because he has wholly followed Yahweh."

1:37 Also Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, saying, "You also shall not go in there:

1:38 ³ÊÀÇ Á¾ÀÚ ´«ÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿©È£¼ö¾Æ´Â ±×¸®·Î µé¾î°¥ °ÍÀÌ´Ï ³Ê´Â ±×¸¦ ´ã´ëÄÉ Ç϶ó ±×°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤¿¡°Ô ±× ¶¥À» ±â¾÷À¸·Î ¾ò°Ô Çϸ®¶ó

1:38 Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there: encourage you him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

1:39 Moreover your little ones, whom you said should be a prey, and your children, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there, and to them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

1:40 ³ÊÈñ´Â ȸÁ¤ÇÏ¿© È«ÇØ ±æ·Î ÇÏ¿© ±¤¾ß·Î µé¾î°¥Áö´Ï¶ó ÇϽøÅ

1:40 But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea."

1:41 Then you answered and said to me, "We have sinned against Yahweh, we will go up and fight, according to all that Yahweh our God commanded us." Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.

1:42 Yahweh said to me, "Tell them, 'Don't go up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest you be struck before your enemies.'"

3:3 So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we struck him until none was left to him remaining.

3:4 We took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we didn't take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

3:5 All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.

3:6 We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

3:7 But all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

3:8 We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon;

3:11 (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn't it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.)

3:16 To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and the border [of it], even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

3:18 commanded you at that time, saying, "Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

3:20 until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you."

3:21 commanded Joshua at that time, saying, "Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings: so shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over.

3:24 Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your mighty acts?

4:3 Your eyes have seen what Yahweh did because of Baal Peor; for all the men who followed Baal Peor, Yahweh your God has destroyed them from the midst of you.

4:5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Yahweh my God commanded me, that you should do so in the midst of the land where you go in to possess it.

4:6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who shall hear all these statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."

4:7 For what great nation is there, that has a god so near to them, as Yahweh our God is whenever we call on him?

4:8 What great nation is there, that has statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

4:9 Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your children and your children's children;

7:2 and when Yahweh your God shall deliver them up before you, and you shall strike them; then you shall utterly destroy them: you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them;

8:4 Your clothing didn't grow old on you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years.

8:5 You shall consider in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so Yahweh your God chastens you.

8:6 You shall keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

8:7 For Yahweh your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of springs, and underground water flowing into valleys and hills;

8:8 land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey;

8:9 land in which you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper.

8:10 You shall eat and be full, and you shall bless Yahweh your God for the good land which he has given you.

8:11 Beware lest you forget Yahweh your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command you this day:

8:12 lest, when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and lived therein;

9:1 Hear, Israel: you are to pass over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,

9:2 people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say, "Who can stand before the sons of Anak?"

9:3 Know therefore this day, that Yahweh your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire; he will destroy them, and he will bring them down before you: so you shall drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as Yahweh has spoken to you.

9:4 Don't say in your heart, after Yahweh your God has thrust them out from before you, saying, "For my righteousness Yahweh has brought me in to possess this land;" because Yahweh drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.

9:5 Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

9:6 Know therefore, that Yahweh your God doesn't give you this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.

9:7 Remember, don't forget, how you provoked Yahweh your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you went forth out of the land of Egypt, until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against Yahweh.

9:9 When I was gone up onto the mountain to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I did neither eat bread nor drink water.

9:10 Yahweh delivered to me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them [was written] according to all the words, which Yahweh spoke with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

9:11 It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahweh gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.

9:12 Yahweh said to me, "Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image."

9:14 let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under the sky; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they."

9:18 fell down before Yahweh, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did neither eat bread nor drink water; because of all your sin which you sinned, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
