11:1 솔로몬 왕이 바로의 딸 외에 이방의 많은 여인을 사랑하였으니 곧 모압과 암몬과 에돔과 시돈과 헷 여인이라
11:1 Now king Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites;
11:2 여호와께서 일찌기 이 여러 국민에게 대하여 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하시기를 너희는 저희와 서로 통하지 말며 저희도 너희와 서로 통하게 말라 저희가 정녕코 너희의 마음을 돌이켜 저희의 신들을 좇게 하리라 하셨으나 솔로몬이 저희를 연애하였더라
11:2 of the nations concerning which Yahweh said to the children of Israel, "You shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods." Solomon joined to these in love.
11:3 왕은 후비가 칠백 인이요 빈장이 삼백 인이라 왕비들이 왕의 마음을 돌이켰더라
11:3 He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.
11:4 솔로몬의 나이 늙을 때에 왕비들이 그 마음을 돌이켜 다른 신들을 좇게 하였으므로 왕의 마음이 그 부친 다윗의 마음과 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으니
11:4 For it happened, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as was the heart of David his father.
11:5 이는 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯을 좇고 암몬 사람의 가증한 밀곰을 좇음이라
11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
11:6 솔로몬이 여호와의 눈 앞에서 악을 행하여 그 부친 다윗이 여호와를 온전히 좇음 같이 좇지 아니하고
11:6 Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and didn't go fully after Yahweh, as did David his father.
11:7 모압의 가증한 그모스를 위하여 예루살렘 앞 산에 산당을 지었고 또 암몬 자손의 가증한 몰록을 위하여 그와 같이 하였으며
11:7 Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the mountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.
11:8 저가 또 이족 후비들을 위하여 다 그와 같이 한지라 저희가 자기의 신들에게 분향하며 제사하였더라
11:8 So did he for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
11:9 ○ 솔로몬이 마음을 돌이켜 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 떠나므로 여호와께서 저에게 진노하시니라 여호와께서 일찌기 두 번이나 저에게 나타나시고
11:9 Yahweh was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Yahweh, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
11:10 이 일에 대하여 명하사 다른 신을 좇지 말라 하셨으나 저가 여호와의 명령을 지키지 않았으므로
11:10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he didn't keep that which Yahweh commanded.
11:11 여호와께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하시되 네게 이러한 일이 있었고 또 네가 나의 언약과 내가 네게 명한 법도를 지키지 아니하였으니 내가 결단코 이 나라를 네게서 빼앗아 네 신복에게 주리라
11:11 Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon, "Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
11:12 그러나 네 아비 다윗을 위하여 네 세대에는 이 일을 행치 아니하고 네 아들의 손에서 빼앗으려니와
11:12 Notwithstanding I will not do it in your days, for David your father's sake; but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
11:13 오직 내가 이 나라를 다 빼앗지 아니하고 나의 종 다윗과 나의 뺀 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 네 아들에게 주리라 하셨더라
11:13 However I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen."
11:14 ○ 여호와께서 에돔 사람 하닷을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 왕의 자손으로서 에돔에 거하였더라
11:14 Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.
11:15 전에 다윗이 에돔에 있을 때에 군대 장관 요압이 가서 죽임을 당한 자들을 장사하고 에돔의 남자를 다 쳐서 죽였는데
11:15 For it happened, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army was gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom
11:16 요압은 에돔의 남자를 다 없이 하기까지 이스라엘 무리와 함께 여섯 달을 그 곳에 유하였었더라
11:16 (for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom);
11:17 그 때에 하닷은 작은 아이라 그 아비의 신복 중 두어 에돔 사람과 함께 도망하여 애굽으로 가려 하여
11:17 that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little child.
11:18 미디안에서 발행하여 바란에 이르고 거기서 사람을 데리고 애굽으로 가서 애굽 왕 바로에게 나아가매 바로가 저에게 집을 주고 먹을 양식을 정하며 또 토지를 주었더라
11:18 They arose out of Midian, and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.
11:19 하닷이 바로의 눈 앞에 크게 은총을 얻었으므로 바로가 자기의 처제 곧 왕비 다브네스의 아우로 저의 아내를 삼으매
11:19 Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
11:20 다브네스의 아우가 그로 말미암아 아들 그누밧을 낳았더니 다브네스가 그 아이를 바로의 궁중에서 젖을 떼게 하매 그누밧이 바로의 궁에서 바로의 아들 가운데 있었더라
11:20 The sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's house among the sons of Pharaoh.
11:21 하닷이 애굽에 있어서 다윗이 그 열조와 함께 잔 것과 군대 장관 요압의 죽은 것을 듣고 바로에게 고하되 나를 보내어 내 고국으로 가게 하옵소서
11:21 When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, "Let me depart, that I may go to my own country."
11:22 바로가 저에게 이르되 네가 나와 함께 있어 무슨 부족함이 있기에 네 고국으로 가기를 구하느뇨 대답하되 없나이다 그러나 아무쪼록 나를 보내옵소서 하였더라
11:22 Then Pharaoh said to him, "But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you seek to go to your own country?" He answered, "Nothing, however only let me depart."
11:23 ○ 하나님이 또 엘리아다의 아들 르손을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 그 주인 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 도망한 자라
11:23 God raised up [another] adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.
11:24 다윗이 소바 사람을 죽일 때에 르손이 사람들을 모으고 그 떼의 괴수가 되며 다메섹으로 가서 웅거하고 거기서 왕이 되었더라
11:24 He gathered men to him, and became captain over a troop, when David killed them [of Zobah]: and they went to Damascus, and lived therein, and reigned in Damascus.
11:25 솔로몬의 일평생에 하닷의 끼친 환난 외에 르손이 수리아 왕이 되어 이스라엘을 대적하고 미워하였더라
11:25 He was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief that Hadad [did]: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
11:26 ○ 솔로몬의 신복 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 또한 손을 들어 왕을 대적하였으니 저는 에브라임 족속인 스레다 사람이요 그 어미의 이름은 스루아니 과부더라
11:26 Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king.
11:27 저가 손을 들어 왕을 대적하는 까닭은 이러하니라 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하고 그 부친 다윗의 성의 무너진 것을 수축하였는데
11:27 This was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of the city of David his father.
11:28 이 사람 여로보암은 큰 용사라 솔로몬이 이 소년의 부지런함을 보고 세워 요셉 족속의 역사를 감독하게 하였더니
11:28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he put him in charge of all the labor of the house of Joseph.
11:29 그 즈음에 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나갈 때에 실로 사람 선지자 아히야가 길에서 저를 만나니 아히야가 새 의복을 입었고 그 두 사람만 들에 있었더라
11:29 It happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; now [Ahijah] had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field.
11:30 아히야가 그 입은 새 옷을 잡아 열 두 조각에 찢고
11:30 Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.
11:31 여로보암에게 이르되 너는 열 조각을 취하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 이 나라를 솔로몬의 손에서 찢어 빼앗아 열 지파를 네게 주고
11:31 He said to Jeroboam, "Take ten pieces; for thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you
11:32 오직 내 종 다윗을 위하고 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 뺀 성 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 솔로몬에게 주리니
11:32 (but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David's sake and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);
11:33 이는 저희가 나를 버리고 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯과 모압의 신 그모스와 암몬 자손의 신 밀곰을 숭배하며 그 아비 다윗의 행함 같지 아니하여 내 길로 행치 아니하며 나 보기에 정직한 일과 나의 법도와 나의 율례를 행치 아니함이니라
11:33 because that they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and [to keep] my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.
11:34 그러나 내가 뺀 내 종 다윗이 내 명령과 내 법도를 지켰으므로 내가 저를 위하여 솔로몬의 생전에는 온 나라를 그 손에서 빼앗지 아니하고 주관하게 하려니와
11:34 'However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him prince all the days of his life, for David my servant's sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes;
11:35 내가 그 아들의 손에서 나라를 빼앗아 그 열 지파를 네게 줄 것이요
11:35 but I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it to you, even ten tribes.
11:36 그 아들에게는 내가 한 지파를 주어서 내가 내 이름을 두고자 하여 택한 성 예루살렘에서 내 종 다윗에게 한 등불이 항상 내 앞에 있게 하리라
11:36 To his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
11:37 내가 너를 취하리니 너는 무릇 네 마음에 원하는 대로 다스려 이스라엘 위에 왕이 되되
11:37 will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
11:38 네가 만일 내가 명한 모든 일에 순종하고 내 길로 행하며 내 눈에 합당한 일을 하며 내 종 다윗의 행함 같이 내 율례와 명령을 지키면 내가 너와 함께 있어 내가 다윗을 위하여 세운 것 같이 너를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우고 이스라엘을 네게 주리라
11:38 It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
11:39 내가 이로 인하여 다윗의 자손을 괴롭게 할 터이나 영원히 하지는 아니하리라 하셨느니라 한지라
11:39 will for this afflict the seed of David, but not forever.'"
11:40 이러므로 솔로몬이 여로보암을 죽이려 하매 여로보암이 일어나 애굽으로 도망하여 애굽 왕 시삭에게 이르러 솔로몬의 죽기까지 애굽에 있으니라
11:40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam; but Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
11:41 ○ 솔로몬의 남은 사적과 무릇 저의 행한 일과 그 지혜는 솔로몬의 행장에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
11:41 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, aren't they written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
11:42 솔로몬이 예루살렘에서 온 이스라엘을 다스린 날 수가 사십 년이라
11:42 The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
11:43 솔로몬이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 부친 다윗의 성에 장사되고 그 아들 르호보암이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
11:43 Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
12:1 르호보암이 세겜으로 갔으니 이는 온 이스라엘이 저로 왕을 삼고자 하여 세겜에 이르렀음이더라
12:1 Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.
12:2 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 전에 솔로몬 왕의 얼굴을 피하여 애굽으로 도망하여 있었더니 이제 그 소문을 듣고 오히려 애굽에 있는 중에
12:2 It happened, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it (for he was yet in Egypt, where he had fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam lived in Egypt,
12:3 무리가 보내어 저를 불렀더라 여로보암과 이스라엘의 온 회중이 와서 르호보암에게 고하여 가로되
12:3 and they sent and called him), that Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel came, and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
12:4 왕의 부친이 우리의 멍에를 무겁게 하였으나 왕은 이제 왕의 부친이 우리에게 시킨 고역과 메운 무거운 멍에를 가볍게 하소서 그리하시면 우리가 왕을 섬기겠나이다
12:4 Your father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make you the grievous service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you."
12:5 르호보암이 대답하되 갔다가 삼 일 후에 다시 내게로 오라 하매 백성이 가니라
12:5 He said to them, "Depart for three days, then come back to me." The people departed.
12:6 ○ 르호보암 왕이 그 부친 솔로몬의 생전에 그 앞에 모셨던 노인들과 의논하여 가로되 너희는 어떻게 교도하여 이 백성에게 대답하게 하겠느뇨
12:6 King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, "What counsel do you give me to return answer to this people?"
12:7 대답하여 가로되 왕이 만일 오늘날 이 백성의 종이 되어 저희를 섬기고 좋은 말로 대답하여 이르시면 저희가 영영히 왕의 종이 되리이다 하나
12:7 They spoke to him, saying, "If you will be a servant to this people this day, and will serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever."
12:8 왕이 노인의 교도하는 것을 버리고 그 앞에 모셔 있는 자기와 함께 자라난 소년들과 의논하여
12:8 But he forsook the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.
12:9 가로되 너희는 어떻게 교도하여 이 백성에게 대답하게 하겠느뇨 백성이 내게 말하기를 왕의 부친이 우리에게 메운 멍에를 가볍게 하라 하였느니라
12:9 He said to them, "What counsel do you give, that we may return answer to this people, who have spoken to me, saying, 'Make the yoke that your father did put on us lighter?'"
12:10 함께 자라난 소년들이 왕께 고하여 가로되 이 백성들이 왕께 고하기를 왕의 부친이 우리의 멍에를 무겁게 하였으나 왕은 우리를 위하여 가볍게 하라 하였은즉 왕은 대답하기를 나의 새끼 손가락이 내 부친의 허리보다 굵으니
12:10 The young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, "Thus you shall tell this people who spoke to you, saying, 'Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter to us;' you shall say to them, 'My little finger is thicker than my father's waist.
12:11 내 부친이 너희로 무거운 멍에를 메게 하였으나 이제 나는 너희의 멍에를 더욱 무겁게 할지라 내 부친은 채찍으로 너희를 징치하였으나 나는 전갈로 너희를 징치하리라 하소서
12:11 Now whereas my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.'"
12:12 ○ 삼 일 만에 여로보암과 모든 백성이 르호보암에게 나아왔으니 이는 왕이 명하여 이르기를 삼 일 만에 내게로 다시 오라 하였음이라
12:12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king asked, saying, "Come to me again the third day."
12:13 왕이 포학한 말로 백성에게 대답할새 노인의 교도를 버리고
12:13 The king answered the people roughly, and forsook the counsel of the old men which they had given him,
12:14 소년의 가르침을 좇아 저희에게 고하여 가로되 내 부친은 너희의 멍에를 무겁게 하였으나 나는 너희의 멍에를 더욱 무겁게 할지라 내 부친은 채찍으로 너희를 징치하였으나 나는 전갈로 너희를 징치하리라 하니라
12:14 and spoke to them according to the counsel of the young men, saying, "My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions."
12:15 왕이 이같이 백성의 말을 듣지 아니하였으니 이 일은 여호와께로 말미암아 난 것이라 여호와께서 전에 실로 사람 아히야로 느밧의 아들 여로보암에게 고한 말씀을 응하게 하심이더라
12:15 So the king didn't listen to the people; for it was a thing brought about of Yahweh, that he might establish his word, which Yahweh spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
12:16 ○ 온 이스라엘이 자기들의 말을 왕이 듣지 아니함을 보고 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 우리가 다윗과 무슨 관계가 있느뇨 이새의 아들에게서 업이 없도다 이스라엘아 너희의 장막으로 돌아가라 다윗이여 이제 너는 네 집이나 돌아보라 하고 이스라엘이 그 장막으로 돌아가니라
12:16 When all Israel saw that the king didn't listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, "What portion have we in David? Neither do we have an inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David." So Israel departed to their tents.
12:17 그러나 유다 성읍들에 사는 이스라엘 자손에게는 르호보암이 그 왕이 되었더라
12:17 But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
12:18 르호보암 왕이 역군의 감독 아도니람을 보내었더니 온 이스라엘이 저를 돌로 쳐죽인지라 르호보암 왕이 급히 수레에 올라 예루살렘으로 도망하였더라
12:18 Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the men subject to forced labor; and all Israel stoned him to death with stones. King Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
12:19 이에 이스라엘이 다윗의 집을 배반하여 오늘날까지 이르렀더라
12:19 So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.
12:20 온 이스라엘이 여로보암의 돌아왔다 함을 듣고 보내어 저를 공회로 청하여다가 온 이스라엘의 왕을 삼았으니 유다 지파 외에는 다윗의 집을 좇는 자가 없으니라
12:20 It happened, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was returned, that they sent and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none who followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.
12:21 ○ 르호보암이 예루살렘에 이르러 유다 온 족속과 베냐민 지파를 모으니 택한 용사가 십팔만이라 이스라엘 족속과 싸워 나라를 회복하여 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암에게 돌리려 하더니
12:21 When Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, and the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, who were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
12:22 하나님의 말씀이 하나님의 사람 스마야에게 임하여 가라사대
12:22 But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
12:23 솔로몬의 아들 유다 왕 르호보암과 유다와 베냐민 온 족속과 또 그 남은 백성에게 고하여 이르기를
12:23 Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people, saying,
12:24 여호와의 말씀이 너희는 올라가지 말라 너희 형제 이스라엘 자손과 싸우지 말고 각기 집으로 돌아가라 이 일이 내게로 말미암아 난 것이라 하셨다 하라 하신지라 저희가 여호와의 말씀을 듣고 그 말씀을 좇아 돌아갔더라
12:24 'Thus says Yahweh, "You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers, the children of Israel. Everyone return to his house; for this thing is of me."'" So they listened to the word of Yahweh, and returned and went their way, according to the word of Yahweh.
12:25 ○ 여로보암이 에브라임 산지에 세겜을 건축하고 거기서 살며 또 거기서 나가서 부느엘을 건축하고
12:25 Then Jeroboam built Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and lived in it; and he went out from there, and built Penuel.
12:26 그 마음에 스스로 이르기를 나라가 이제 다윗의 집으로 돌아가리로다
12:26 Jeroboam said in his heart, "Now the kingdom will return to the house of David.
12:27 만일 이 백성이 예루살렘에 있는 여호와의 전에 제사를 드리고자 하여 올라가면 이 백성의 마음이 유다 왕 된 그 주 르호보암에게로 돌아가서 나를 죽이고 유다 왕 르호보암에게로 돌아가리로다 하고
12:27 If this people goes up to offer sacrifices in the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, even to Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me, and return to Rehoboam king of Judah."
12:28 이에 계획하고 두 금송아지를 만들고 무리에게 말하기를 너희가 다시는 예루살렘에 올라갈 것이 없도다 이스라엘아 이는 너희를 애굽땅에서 인도하여 올린 너희 신이라 하고
12:28 Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said to them, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Look and see your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!"
12:29 하나는 벧엘에 두고 하나는 단에 둔지라
12:29 He set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.
12:30 이 일이 죄가 되었으니 이는 백성들이 단까지 가서 그 하나에게 숭배함이더라
12:30 This thing became a sin; for the people went [to worship] before the one, even to Dan.
12:31 저가 또 산당들을 짓고 레위 자손 아닌 보통 백성으로 제사장을 삼고
12:31 He made houses of high places, and made priests from among all the people, who were not of the sons of Levi.
12:32 팔 월 곧 그 달 십 오 일로 절기를 정하여 유다의 절기와 비슷하게 하고 단에 올라가되 벧엘에서 그와 같이 행하여 그 만든 송아지에게 제사를 드렸으며 그 지은 산당의 제사장은 벧엘에서 세웠더라
12:32 Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah, and he went up to the altar; so did he in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places that he had made.
12:33 저가 자기 마음대로 정한 달 곧 팔 월 십 오 일로 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 절기로 정하고 벧엘에 쌓은 단에 올라가서 분향하였더라
12:33 He went up to the altar which he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart: and he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and went up to the altar, to burn incense.
13:1 때에 하나님의 사람이 여호와의 말씀으로 인하여 유다에서부터 벧엘에 이르니 마침 여로보암이 단 곁에 서서 분향하는지라
13:1 Behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of Yahweh to Beth El: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
13:2 하나님의 사람이 단을 향하여 여호와의 말씀으로 외쳐 가로되 단아 단아 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 다윗의 집에 요시야라 이름하는 아들을 낳으리니 저가 네 위에 분향하는 산당 제사장을 네 위에 제사할 것이요 또 사람의 뼈를 네 위에 사르리라 하셨느니라 하고
13:2 He cried against the altar by the word of Yahweh, and said, "Altar, altar, thus says Yahweh: 'Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name. On you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn men's bones on you.'"
13:3 그 날에 저가 예조를 들어 가로되 이는 여호와의 말씀하신 예조라 단이 갈라지며 그 위에 있는 재가 쏟아지리라 하매
13:3 He gave a sign the same day, saying, "This is the sign which Yahweh has spoken: Behold, the altar will be split apart, and the ashes that are on it will be poured out."
13:4 여로보암 왕이 하나님의 사람의 벧엘에 있는 단을 향하여 외쳐 말함을 들을 때에 단에서 손을 펴며 저를 잡으라 하더라 저를 향하여 편 손이 말라 다시 거두지 못하며
13:4 It happened, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, that Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying, "Seize him!" His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.
13:5 하나님의 사람의 여호와의 말씀으로 보인 예조대로 단이 갈라지며 재가 단에서 쏟아진지라
13:5 The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of Yahweh.
13:6 왕이 하나님의 사람에게 말하여 가로되 청컨대 너는 나를 위하여 네 하나님 여호와께 은혜를 구하여 내 손으로 다시 성하게 기도하라 하나님의 사람이 여호와께 은혜를 구하니 왕의 손이 다시 성하여 전과 같이 되니라
13:6 The king answered the man of God, "Now entreat the favor of Yahweh your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again." The man of God entreated Yahweh, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
13:7 왕이 하나님의 사람에게 이르되 나와 함께 집에 가서 몸을 쉬라 내가 네게 예물을 주리라
13:7 The king said to the man of God, "Come home with me, and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward."
13:8 하나님의 사람이 왕께 대답하되 왕께서 왕의 집 절반으로 내게 준다 할지라도 나는 왕과 함께 들어가지도 아니하고 이곳에서는 떡도 먹지 아니하고 물도 마시지 아니하리니
13:8 The man of God said to the king, "Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;
13:9 이는 곧 여호와의 말씀이 내게 명하여 이르시기를 떡도 먹지 말고 물도 마시지 말고 왔던 길로 도로 가지도 말라 하셨음이니이다 하고
13:9 for so was it commanded me by the word of Yahweh, saying, 'You shall eat no bread, nor drink water, neither return by the way that you came.'"
13:10 이에 다른 길로 가고 자기가 벧엘에 오던 길로 좇아 돌아가지 아니하니라
13:10 So he went another way, and didn't return by the way that he came to Bethel.
13:11 ○ 벧엘에 한 늙은 선지자가 살더니 그 아들들이 와서 이 날에 하나님의 사람이 벧엘에서 행한 모든 일을 저에게 고하고 또 그가 왕에게 고한 말씀도 저희가 그 아비에게 고한지라
13:11 Now there lived an old prophet in Bethel; and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
13:12 그 아비가 저희에게 이르되 그가 어느 길로 가더냐 하니 그 아들들이 유다에서부터 온 하나님의 사람의 간 길을 보았음이라
13:12 Their father said to them, "Which way did he go?" Now his sons had seen which way the man of God went, who came from Judah.
13:13 저가 그 아들들에게 이르되 나를 위하여 나귀에 안장을 지우라 저희가 나귀에 안장을 지우니 저가 타고
13:13 He said to his sons, "Saddle the donkey for me." So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it.
13:14 하나님의 사람의 뒤를 좇아가서 상수리나무 아래 앉은 것을 보고 이르되 그대가 유다에서 온 하나님의 사람이뇨 대답하되 그러하다
13:14 He went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak. He said to him, "Are you the man of God who came from Judah?" He said, "I am."
13:15 저가 그 사람에게 이르되 나와 함께 집으로 가서 떡을 먹으라
13:15 Then he said to him, "Come home with me, and eat bread."
13:16 대답하되 나는 그대와 함께 돌아가지도 못하겠고 그대와 함께 들어가지도 못하겠으며 내가 이곳에서 그대와 함께 떡도 먹지 아니하고 물도 마시지 아니하리니
13:16 He said, "I may not return with you, nor go in with you; neither will I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place.
13:17 이는 여호와의 말씀이 내게 이르시기를 네가 거기서 떡도 먹지 말고 물도 마시지 말며 또 네가 오던 길로 돌아가지도 말라 하셨음이로라
13:17 For it was said to me by the word of Yahweh, 'You shall eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that you came.'"
13:18 저가 그 사람에게 이르되 나도 그대와 같은 선지자라 천사가 여호와의 말씀으로 내게 이르기를 그를 네 집으로 데리고 돌아가서 그에게 떡을 먹이고 물을 마시우라 하였느니라 하니 이는 그 사람을 속임이라
13:18 He said to him, "I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the word of Yahweh, saying, 'Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.'" He lied to him.
13:19 이에 그 사람이 저와 함께 돌아가서 그 집에서 떡을 먹으며 물을 마시니라
13:19 So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water.
13:20 ○ 저희가 상 앞에 앉았을 때에 여호와의 말씀이 그 사람을 데려온 선지자에게 임하니
13:20 It happened, as they sat at the table, that the word of Yahweh came to the prophet who brought him back;
13:21 저가 유다에서부터 온 하나님의 사람을 향하여 외쳐 가로되 여호와의 말씀에 네가 여호와의 말씀을 어기며 네 하나님 여호와가 네게 명한 명령을 지키지 아니하고
13:21 and he cried to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Because you have been disobedient to the mouth of Yahweh, and have not kept the commandment which Yahweh your God commanded you,
13:22 돌아와서 여호와가 너더러 떡도 먹지 말고 물도 마시지 말라 한 곳에서 떡을 먹고 물을 마셨으니 네 시체가 네 열조의 묘실에 들어가지 못하리라 하셨느니라 하니라
13:22 but came back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to you, "Eat no bread, and drink no water;" your body shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.'"
13:23 자기가 데리고 온 선지자가 떡을 먹고 물을 마신 후에 그를 위하여 나귀에 안장을 지우니라
13:23 It happened, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled the donkey for the prophet whom he had brought back.
13:24 이에 그 사람이 가더니 사자가 길에서 저를 만나 죽이매 그 시체가 길에 버린 바 되니 나귀는 그 곁에 섰고 사자도 그 시체 곁에 섰더라
13:24 When he had gone, a lion met him by the way, and killed him. His body was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the body.
13:25 지나가는 사람들이 길에 버린 시체와 그 시체 곁에 선 사자를 보고 그 늙은 선지자가 사는 성읍에 와서 말한지라
13:25 Behold, men passed by, and saw the body cast in the way, and the lion standing by the body; and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.
13:26 그 사람을 길에서 데리고 돌아간 선지자가 듣고 말하되 이는 여호와의 말씀을 어긴 하나님의 사람이로다 여호와께서 그에게 하신 말씀과 같이 여호와께서 그를 사자에게 붙이시매 사자가 그를 찢어 죽였도다 하고
13:26 When the prophet who brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, "It is the man of God who was disobedient to the mouth of Yahweh. Therefore Yahweh has delivered him to the lion, which has mauled him and slain him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke to him."
13:27 이에 그 아들들에게 말하여 가로되 나를 위하여 나귀에 안장을 지우라 저희가 안장을 지우매
13:27 He spoke to his sons, saying, "Saddle the donkey for me." They saddled it.
13:28 저가 가서 본즉 그 시체가 길에 버린 바 되었고 나귀와 사자는 그 시체 곁에 섰는데 사자가 시체를 먹지도 아니하였고 나귀를 찢지도 아니하였더라
13:28 He went and found his body cast in the way, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body, nor mauled the donkey.
13:29 늙은 선지자가 하나님의 사람의 시체를 떠들어 나귀에 실어 가지고 돌아와 자기 성읍으로 들어가서 슬피 울며 장사하되
13:29 The prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to the city of the old prophet to mourn, and to bury him.
13:30 곧 그 시체를 자기의 묘실에 두고 그를 위하여 슬피 울며 가로되 오호라 나의 형제여 하니라
13:30 He laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, "Alas, my brother!"
13:31 그 사람을 장사한 후에 저가 그 아들들에게 말하여 가로되 내가 죽거든 하나님의 사람을 장사한 묘실에 나를 장사하되 내 뼈를 그의 뼈 곁에 두라
13:31 It happened, after he had buried him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, "When I am dead, then bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.
13:32 그가 여호와의 말씀으로 벧엘에 있는 단을 향하고 또 사마리아 성읍들에 있는 모든 산당을 향하여 외쳐 말한 것이 반드시 이룰 것임이니라
13:32 For the saying which he cried by the word of Yahweh against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, will surely happen."
13:33 ○ 여로보암이 이 일 후에도 그 악한 길에서 떠나 돌이키지 아니하고 다시 보통 백성으로 산당의 제사장을 삼되 누구든지 자원하면 그 사람으로 산당의 제사장을 삼았으므로
13:33 After this thing Jeroboam didn't return from his evil way, but again made priests of the high places from among all the people. Whoever wanted to, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places.
13:34 이 일이 여로보암 집에 죄가 되어 그 집이 지면에서 끊어져 멸망케 되니라
13:34 This thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the surface of the earth.
14:1 그 때에 여로보암의 아들 아비야가 병든지라
14:1 At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.
14:2 여로보암이 그 아내에게 이르되 청컨대 일어나 변장하여 사람으로 그대가 여로보암의 아내임을 알지 못하게 하고 실로로 가라 거기 선지자 아히야가 있나니 저는 이전에 내가 이 백성의 왕이 될 것을 내게 고한 사람이니라
14:2 Jeroboam said to his wife, "Please get up and disguise yourself, that you won't be recognized as the wife of Jeroboam. Go to Shiloh. Behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, who spoke concerning me that I should be king over this people.
14:3 그대의 손에 떡 열과 과자와 꿀 한 병을 가지고 그에게로 가라 저가 그대에게 이 아이의 어떻게 될 것을 알게 하리라
14:3 Take with you ten loaves, and cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will become of the child."
14:4 여로보암의 아내가 그대로 하여 일어나 실로로 가서 아히야의 집에 이르니 아히야는 나이로 인하여 눈이 어두워 보지 못하더라
14:4 Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
14:5 여호와께서 아히야에게 이르시되 여로보암의 아내가 그 아들이 병듦을 인하여 네게 물으러 오나니 너는 이리이리 대답하라 저가 들어올 때에 다른 사람인 체함이니라
14:5 Yahweh said to Ahijah, "Behold, the wife of Jeroboam comes to inquire of you concerning her son; for he is sick. Thus and thus you shall tell her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman."
14:6 ○ 저가 문으로 들어올 때에 아히야가 그 발소리를 듣고 말하되 여로보암의 처여 들어오라 네가 어찌하여 다른 사람인 체하느뇨 내가 명령을 받아 흉한 일로 네게 고하리니
14:6 It was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, "Come in, you wife of Jeroboam! Why do you pretend to be another? For I am sent to you with heavy news.
14:7 가서 여로보암에게 고하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 너를 백성 중에서 들어 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자가 되게 하고
14:7 Go, tell Jeroboam, 'Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: "Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,
14:8 나라를 다윗의 집에서 찢어 내어 네게 주었거늘 너는 내 종 다윗이 나의 명령을 지켜 전심으로 나를 좇으며 나 보기에 정직한 일만 행하였음과 같지 아니하고
14:8 and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it you; and yet you have not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in my eyes,
14:9 너의 이전 사람들보다도 악을 행하고 가서 너를 위하여 다른 신을 만들며 우상을 부어 만들어 나의 노를 격발하고 나를 네 등 뒤에 버렸도다
14:9 but have done evil above all who were before you, and have gone and made you other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:
14:10 그러므로 내가 여로보암의 집에 재앙을 내려 여로보암에게 속한 사내는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자나 다 끊어 버리되 거름을 쓸어 버림 같이 여로보암의 집을 말갛게 쓸어 버릴지라
14:10 therefore, behold, I will bring evil on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam everyone who urinates on a wall, he who is shut up and he who is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung, until it is all gone.
14:11 여로보암에게 속한 자가 성에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리니 이는 여호와가 말하였음이니라 하셨나니
14:11 He who dies of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and he who dies in the field shall the birds of the sky eat: for Yahweh has spoken it."'
14:12 너는 일어나 네 집으로 가라 네 발이 성에 들어갈 때에 그 아이가 죽을지라
14:12 Arise therefore, and go to your house. When your feet enter into the city, the child shall die.
14:13 온 이스라엘이 저를 위하여 슬퍼하며 장사하려니와 여로보암에게 속한 자는 오직 이 아이만 묘실에 들어가리니 이는 여로보암의 집 가운데서 저가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 향하여 선한 뜻을 품었음이니라
14:13 All Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14:14 여호와께서 이스라엘의 위에 한 왕을 일으키신즉 저가 그 날에 여로보암의 집을 끊어 버리리라 어느 때냐 곧 이제라
14:14 Moreover Yahweh will raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam. This is day! What? Even now.
14:15 여호와께서 이스라엘을 쳐서 물에서 흔들리는 갈대 같이 되게 하시고 이스라엘을 그 열조에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 뽑아 저희를 하수 밖으로 흩으시리니 저희가 아세라 목상을 만들어 여호와를 진노케 하였음이니라
14:15 For Yahweh will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking Yahweh to anger.
14:16 여호와께서 여로보암의 죄로 인하여 이스라엘을 버리시리니 이는 저도 범죄하고 이스라엘로 범죄케 하였음이니라 하니라
14:16 He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin."
14:17 ○ 여로보암의 처가 일어나 디르사로 돌아가서 집 문지방에 이를 때에 아이가 죽은지라
14:17 Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.
14:18 온 이스라엘이 저를 장사하고 저를 위하여 슬퍼하니 여호와께서 그 종 선지자 아히야로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라
14:18 All Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet.
14:19 ○ 여로보암의 그 남은 행적 곧 저가 어떻게 싸운 것과 어떻게 다스린 것은 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되니라
14:19 The rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
14:20 여로보암이 왕이 된 지 이십 이 년이라 저가 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 아들 나답이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
14:20 The days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.
14:21 ○ 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암은 유다 왕이 되었으니 르호보암이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 사십 일 세라 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 빼신 성 예루살렘에서 십 칠 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 나아마라 암몬 사람이더라
14:21 Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
14:22 유다가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 열조의 행한 모든 일보다 뛰어나게 하여 그 범한 죄로 여호와의 노를 격발하였으니
14:22 Judah did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.
14:23 이는 저희도 산 위에와 모든 푸른 나무 아래 산당과 우상과 아세라 목상을 세웠음이라
14:23 For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;
14:24 그 땅에 또 남색하는 자가 있었고 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 국민의 모든 가증한 일을 무리가 본받아 행하였더라
14:24 and there were also sodomites in the land: they did according to all the abominations of the nations which Yahweh drove out before the children of Israel.
14:25 ○ 르호보암 왕 제 오 년에 애굽 왕 시삭이 올라와서 예루살렘을 치고
14:25 It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem;
14:26 여호와의 전의 보물과 왕궁의 보물을 몰수히 빼앗고 또 솔로몬의 만든 금 방패를 다 빼앗은지라
14:26 and he took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
14:27 르호보암 왕이 그 대신 놋으로 방패를 만들어 왕궁 문을 지키는 시위대 장관의 손에 맡기매
14:27 King Rehoboam made in their place shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.
14:28 왕이 여호와의 전에 들어갈 때마다 시위하는 자가 그 방패를 들고 갔다가 시위소로 도로 가져갔더라
14:28 It was so, that as often as the king went into the house of Yahweh, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.
14:29 ○ 르호보암의 남은 사적과 무릇 그 행한 일이 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
14:29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
14:30 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 항상 전쟁이 있으니라
14:30 There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
14:31 르호보암이 그 열조와 함께 자니 그 열조와 함께 다윗 성에 장사되니라 그 모친의 이름은 나아마라 암몬 사람이더라 그 아들 아비얌이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
14:31 Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess. Abijam his son reigned in his place.
15:1 느밧의 아들 여로보암 왕 제 십 팔 년에 아비얌이 유다 왕이 되고
15:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah.
15:2 예루살렘에서 삼 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의 딸이더라
15:2 Three years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
15:3 아비얌이 그 부친의 이미 행한 모든 죄를 행하고 그 마음이 그 조상 다윗의 마음 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으나
15:3 He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father.
15:4 그 하나님 여호와께서 다윗을 위하여 예루살렘에서 저에게 등불을 주시되 그 아들을 세워 후사가 되게 하사 예루살렘을 견고케 하셨으니
15:4 Nevertheless for David's sake did Yahweh his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;
15:5 이는 다윗이 헷 사람 우리아의 일 외에는 평생에 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하고 자기에게 명하신 모든 일을 어기지 아니하였음이라
15:5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, and didn't turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
15:6 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 사는 날 동안 전쟁이 있었더니
15:6 Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
15:7 아비얌과 여로보암 사이에도 전쟁이 있으니라 아비얌의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
15:7 The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
15:8 아비얌이 그 열조와 함께 자니 다윗성에 장사되고 그 아들 아사가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
15:8 Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his place.
15:9 ○ 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 제 이십 년에 아사가 유다 왕이 되어
15:9 In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Asa to reign over Judah.
15:10 예루살렘에서 사십 일 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의 딸이더라
15:10 Forty-one years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
15:11 아사가 그 조상 다윗 같이 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하여
15:11 Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, as did David his father.
15:12 남색하는 자를 그 땅에서 쫓아내고 그 열조의 지은 모든 우상을 없이하고
15:12 He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
15:13 또 그 모친 마아가가 아세라의 가증한 우상을 만들었으므로 태후의 위를 폐하고 그 우상을 찍어서 기드론 시냇가에서 불살랐으나
15:13 Also Maacah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
15:14 오직 산당은 없이하지 아니하니라 그러나 아사의 마음이 일평생 여호와 앞에 온전하였으며
15:14 But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Yahweh all his days.
15:15 저가 그 부친의 구별한 것과 자기의 구별한 것을 여호와의 전에 받들어 드렸으니 곧 은과 금과 기명들이더라
15:15 He brought into the house of Yahweh the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
15:16 ○ 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라
15:16 There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
15:17 이스라엘 왕 바아사가 유다를 치러 올라와서 라마를 건축하여 사람을 유다 왕 아사에게 왕래하지 못하게 하려 한지라
15:17 Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
15:18 아사가 여호와의 전 곳간과 왕궁 곳간에 남은 은금을 몰수히 취하여 그 신복의 손에 붙여 다메섹에 거한 아람 왕 헤시온의 손자 다브림몬의 아들 벤하닷에게 보내며 가로되
15:18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
15:19 나와 당신 사이에 약조가 있고 내 부친과 당신의 부친 사이에도 있었느니라 내가 당신에게 은금 예물을 보내었으니 와서 이스라엘 왕 바아사와 세운 약조를 깨뜨려서 저로 나를 떠나게 하라 하매
15:19 There is a treaty between me and you, between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me."
15:20 벤하닷이 아사 왕의 말을 듣고 그 군대 장관들을 보내어 이스라엘 성들을 치되 이욘과 단과 아벨벧마아가와 긴네렛 온 땅과 납달리온 땅을 쳤더니
15:20 Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
15:21 바아사가 듣고 라마 건축하는 일을 그치고 디르사에 거하니라
15:21 It happened, when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah.
15:22 이에 아사 왕이 온 유다에 영을 내려 한 사람도 모면하지 못하게 하여 바아사가 라마를 건축하던 돌과 재목을 가져오게 하고 그것으로 베냐민의 게바와 미스바를 건축하였더라
15:22 Then king Asa made a proclamation to all Judah; none was exempted: and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and king Asa built therewith Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
15:23 ○ 아사의 남은 사적과 모든 권세와 무릇 그 행한 일과 성읍을 건축한 것이 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 그러나 저가 늙을 때에 발에 병이 있었더라
15:23 Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
15:24 아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 열조와 함께 그 조상 다윗의 성에 장사되고 그 아들 여호사밧이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
15:24 Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
15:25 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이 년에 여로보암의 아들 나답이 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
15:25 Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
15:26 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 아비의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행한지라
15:26 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
15:27 이에 잇사갈 족속 아히야의 아들 바아사가 저를 모반하여 블레셋 사람에게 속한 깁브돈에서 저를 죽였으니 이는 나답과 온 이스라엘이 깁브돈을 에워싸고 있었음이더라
15:27 Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.
15:28 유다 왕 아사 제 삼 년에 바아사가 나답을 죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되고
15:28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha kill him, and reigned in his place.
15:29 왕이 될 때에 여로보암의 온 집을 쳐서 생명 있는 자를 하나도 남기지 아니하고 다 멸하였는데 여호와께서 그 종 실로 사람 아히야로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었으니
15:29 It happened that, as soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam: he didn't leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him; according to the saying of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite;
15:30 이는 여로보암이 범죄하고 또 이스라엘로 범하게 한 죄로 인함이며 또 저가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격동시킨 일을 인함이었더라
15:30 for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger.
15:31 나답의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
15:31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15:32 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라
15:32 There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
15:33 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 삼 년에 아히야의 아들 바아사가 디르사에서 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되어 이십 사 년을 치리하니라
15:33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, [and reigned] twenty-four years.
15:34 바아사가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 여로보암의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라
15:34 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
16:1 여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 예후에게 임하여 바아사를 꾸짖어 가라사대
16:1 The word of Yahweh came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
16:2 내가 너를 진토에서 들어 나의 백성 이스라엘 위에 주권자가 되게 하였거늘 네가 여로보암의 길로 행하며 내 백성 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 저희 죄로 나의 노를 격동하였은즉
16:2 Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
16:3 내가 너 바아사와 네 집을 쓸어 버려 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집 같이 되게 하리니
16:3 behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16:4 바아사에게 속한 자가 성읍에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리라 하셨더라
16:4 The dogs will eat Baasha's descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field the birds of the sky will eat."
16:5 ○ 바아사의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일과 권세는 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:6 바아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 디르사에 장사되고 그 아들 엘라가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
16:6 Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.
16:7 여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 선지자 예후에게 임하사 바아사와 그 집을 꾸짖으심은 저가 여로보암의 집을 본받아 여호와 보시기에 모든 악을 행하며 그 손의 소위로 여호와의 노를 격동하였음이며 또 그 집을 쳤음이더라
16:7 Moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Yahweh against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.
16:8 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 육 년에 바아사의 아들 엘라가 디르사에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이 년을 위에 있으니라
16:8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, [and reigned] two years.
16:9 엘라가 디르사에 있어 궁내 대신 아르사의 집에서 마시고 취할 때에 그 신복 곧 병거 절반을 통솔한 장관 시므리가 왕을 모반하여
16:9 His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah:
16:10 들어가서 저를 쳐죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되니 곧 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 칠 년이라
16:10 and Zimri went in and struck him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
16:11 시므리가 왕이 되어 그 위에 오를 때에 바아사의 온 집을 죽이되 남자는 그 족속이든지 그 친구든지 하나도 남기지 아니하고
16:11 It happened, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he struck all the house of Baasha: he didn't leave him a single one who urinates on a wall, neither of his relatives, nor of his friends.
16:12 바아사의 온 집을 멸하였는데 여호와께서 선지자 예후로 바아사를 꾸짖어 하신 말씀 같이 되었으니
16:12 Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
16:13 이는 바아사의 모든 죄와 그 아들 엘라의 죄를 인함이라 저희가 범죄하고 또 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 그 헛된 것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라
16:13 for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
16:14 엘라의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:15 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 칠 년에 시므리가 디르사에서 칠 일 동안 왕이 되니라 때에 백성들이 블레셋 사람에게 속한 깁브돈을 향하여 진을 치고 있더니
16:15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16:16 진중 백성들이 시므리가 모반하여 왕을 죽였다는 말을 들은지라 그 날에 이스라엘의 무리가 진에서 군대 장관 오므리로 이스라엘 왕을 삼으매
16:16 The people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also struck the king: therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
16:17 오므리가 이에 이스라엘 무리를 거느리고 깁브돈에서부터 올라와서 디르사를 에워쌌더라
16:17 Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
16:18 시므리가 성이 함락됨을 보고 왕궁 위소에 들어가서 왕궁에 불을 놓고 그 가운데서 죽었으니
16:18 It happened, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire, and died,
16:19 이는 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 범죄함을 인함이라 저가 여로보암의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라
16:19 for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
16:20 시므리의 남은 행위와 그 모반한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:21 ○ 그 때에 이스라엘 백성이 둘에 나뉘어 그 절반은 기낫의 아들 디브니를 좇아 저로 왕을 삼으려 하고 그 절반은 오므리를 좇았더니
16:21 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
16:22 오므리를 좇은 백성이 기낫의 아들 디브니를 좇은 백성을 이긴지라 디브니가 죽으매 오므리가 왕이 되니라
16:22 But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
16:23 유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 일 년에 오므리가 이스라엘 왕이 되어 십 이 년을 위에 있으며 디르사에서 육 년 동안 치리하니라
16:23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, [and reigned] twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
16:24 저가 은 두 달란트로 세멜에게서 사마리아 산을 사고 그 산 위에 성을 건축하고 그 건축한 성 이름을 그 산 주인이 되었던 세멜의 이름을 좇아 사마리아라 일컬었더라
16:24 He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.
16:25 오므리가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 전의 모든 사람보다 더욱 악하게 행하여
16:25 Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
16:26 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하여 그 헛된 것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발케 하였더라
16:26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
16:27 오므리의 행한 그 남은 사적과 그 베푼 권세가 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:28 오므리가 그 열조와 함께 자매 사마리아에 장사되고 그 아들 아합이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
16:28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.
16:29 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 팔 년에 오므리의 아들 아합이 이스라엘 왕이 되니라 오므리의 아들 아합이 사마리아에서 이십 이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
16:29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
16:30 오므리의 아들 아합이 그 전의 모든 사람보다 여호와 보시기에 악을 더욱 행하여
16:30 Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh above all that were before him.
16:31 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라 행하는 것을 오히려 가볍게 여기며 시돈 사람의 왕 엣바알의 딸 이세벨로 아내를 삼고 가서 바알을 섬겨 숭배하고
16:31 It happened, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.
16:32 사마리아에 건축한 바알의 사당 속에 바알을 위하여 단을 쌓으며
16:32 He reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
16:33 또 아세라 목상을 만들었으니 저는 그 전의 모든 이스라엘 왕보다 심히 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라
16:33 Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
16:34 그 시대에 벧엘 사람 히엘이 여리고를 건축하였는데 저가 그 터를 쌓을 때에 맏아들 아비람을 잃었고 그 문을 세울 때에 말째 아들 스굽을 잃었으니 여호와께서 눈의 아들 여호수아로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라
16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
17:1 길르앗에 우거하는 자 중에 디셉 사람 엘리야가 아합에게 고하되 나의 섬기는 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내 말이 없으면 수년 동안 우로가 있지 아니하리라 하니라
17:1 Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the foreigners of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word."
17:2 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
17:2 The word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
17:3 너는 여기서 떠나 동으로 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 숨고
17:3 Go away from here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
17:4 그 시냇물을 마시라 내가 까마귀들을 명하여 거기서 너를 먹이게 하리라
17:4 It shall be, that you shall drink of the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there."
17:5 저가 여호와의 말씀과 같이 하여 곧 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 머물매
17:5 So he went and did according to the word of Yahweh; for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
17:6 까마귀들이 아침에도 떡과 고기를, 저녁에도 떡과 고기를 가져왔고 저가 시내를 마셨더니
17:6 The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
17:7 땅에 비가 내리지 아니하므로 얼마 후에 그 시내가 마르니라
17:7 It happened after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
17:8 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
17:8 The word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
17:9 너는 일어나 시돈에 속한 사르밧으로 가서 거기 유하라 내가 그 곳 과부에게 명하여 너를 공궤하게 하였느니라
17:9 Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you."
17:10 저가 일어나 사르밧으로 가서 성문에 이를 때에 한 과부가 그 곳에서 나무가지를 줍는지라 이에 불러 가로되 청컨대 그릇에 물을 조금 가져다가 나로 마시게 하라
17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, "Please get me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink."
17:11 저가 가지러 갈 때에 엘리야가 저를 불러 가로되 청컨대 네 손에 떡 한 조각을 내게로 가져오라
17:11 As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said, "Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand."
17:12 저가 가로되 당신의 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 나는 떡이 없고 다만 통에 가루 한 움큼과 병에 기름 조금 뿐이라 내가 나무가지 두엇을 주워다가 나와 내 아들을 위하여 음식을 만들어 먹고 그 후에는 죽으리라
17:12 She said, "As Yahweh your God lives, I don't have a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die."
17:13 엘리야가 저에게 이르되 두려워 말고 가서 네 말대로 하려니와 먼저 그것으로 나를 위하여 작은 떡 하나를 만들어 내게로 가져오고 그 후에 너와 네 아들을 위하여 만들라
17:13 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me of it a little cake first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.
17:14 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 나 여호와가 비를 지면에 내리는 날까지 그 통의 가루는 다하지 아니하고 그 병의 기름은 없어지지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
17:14 For thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'The jar of meal shall not empty, neither shall the jar of oil fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.'"
17:15 저가 가서 엘리야의 말대로 하였더니 저와 엘리야와 식구가 여러 날 먹었으나
17:15 She went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, ate [many] days.
17:16 여호와께서 엘리야로 하신 말씀 같이 통의 가루가 다하지 아니하고 병의 기름이 없어지지 아니하니라
17:16 The jar of meal didn't empty, neither did the jar of oil fail, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by Elijah.
17:17 ○ 이 일 후에 그 집 주모 되는 여인의 아들이 병들어 증세가 심히 위중하다가 숨이 끊어진지라
17:17 It happened after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so severe, that there was no breath left in him.
17:18 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여 당신이 나로 더불어 무슨 상관이 있기로 내 죄를 생각나게 하고 또 내 아들을 죽게 하려고 내게 오셨나이까
17:18 She said to Elijah, "What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!"
17:19 엘리야가 저에게 그 아들을 달라 하여 그를 그 여인의 품에서 취하여 안고 자기의 거처하는 다락에 올라가서 자기 침상에 누이고
17:19 He said to her, "Give me your son." He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.
17:20 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 또 내가 우거하는 집 과부에게 재앙을 내리사 그 아들로 죽게 하셨나이까 하고
17:20 He cried to Yahweh, and said, "Yahweh my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I stay, by killing her son?"
17:21 그 아이 위에 몸을 세 번 펴서 엎드리고 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의 하나님 여호와여 원컨대 이 아이의 혼으로 그 몸에 돌아오게 하옵소서 하니
17:21 He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to Yahweh, and said, "Yahweh my God, please let this child's soul come into him again."
17:22 여호와께서 엘리야의 소리를 들으시므로 그 아이의 혼이 몸으로 돌아오고 살아난지라
17:22 Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
17:23 엘리야가 그 아이를 안고 다락에서 방으로 내려가서 그 어미에게 주며 이르되 보라 네 아들이 살았느니라
17:23 Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, "Behold, your son lives."
17:24 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 내가 이제야 당신은 하나님의 사람이시요 당신의 입에 있는 여호와의 말씀이 진실한 줄 아노라 하니라
17:24 The woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of Yahweh in your mouth is truth."
18:1 많은 날을 지내고 제 삼 년에 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대 너는 가서 아합에게 보이라 내가 비를 지면에 내리리라
18:1 It happened after many days, that the word of Yahweh came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, "Go, show yourself to Ahab; and I will send rain on the earth."
18:2 엘리야가 아합에게 보이려고 가니 그 때에 사마리아에 기근이 심하였더라
18:2 Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. The famine was severe in Samaria.
18:3 아합이 궁내 대신 오바댜를 불렀으니 이 오바댜는 크게 여호와를 경외하는 자라
18:3 Ahab called Obadiah, who was over the household. (Now Obadiah feared Yahweh greatly:
18:4 이세벨이 여호와의 선지자들을 멸할 때에 오바댜가 선지자 일백 인을 가져 오십 인씩 굴에 숨기고 떡과 물을 먹였었더라
18:4 for it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of Yahweh, that Obadiah took one hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
18:5 아합이 오바댜에게 이르되 이 땅의 모든 물 근원과 모든 내로 가자 혹시 꼴을 얻으리라 그러면 말과 노새를 살리리니 짐승을 다 잃지 않게 되리라 하고
18:5 Ahab said to Obadiah, "Go through the land, to all the springs of water, and to all the brooks. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we not lose all the animals."
18:6 두 사람이 두루 다닐 땅을 나누어 아합은 홀로 이 길로 가고 오바댜는 홀로 저 길로 가니라
18:6 So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
18:7 ○ 오바댜가 길에 있을 때에 엘리야가 저를 만난지라 저가 알아보고 엎드려 말하되 내 주 엘리야여 당신이시니이까
18:7 As Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, "Is it you, my lord Elijah?"
18:8 대답하되 그러하다 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라
18:8 He answered him, "It is I. Go, tell your lord, 'Behold, Elijah is here!'"
18:9 가로되 내가 무슨 죄를 범하였기에 당신이 당신의 종을 아합의 손에 붙여 죽이게 하려 하시나이까
18:9 He said, "Wherein have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?
18:10 당신의 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내 주께서 사람을 보내어 당신을 찾지 아니한 족속이나 나라가 없었는데 저희가 말하기를 엘리야가 없다 하면 그 나라와 그 족속으로 당신을 보지 못하였다는 맹세를 하게 하였거늘
18:10 As Yahweh your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom, where my lord has not sent to seek you. When they said, 'He is not here,' he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they didn't find you.
18:11 이제 당신의 말씀이 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라 하시나
18:11 Now you say, 'Go, tell your lord, "Behold, Elijah is here."'
18:12 내가 당신을 떠나간 후에 여호와의 신이 나의 알지 못하는 곳으로 당신을 이끌어 가시리니 내가 가서 아합에게 고하였다가 저가 당신을 찾지 못하면 내가 죽임을 당하리이다 당신의 종은 어려서부터 여호와를 경외하는 자라
18:12 It will happen, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of Yahweh will carry you I don't know where; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he can't find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared Yahweh from my youth.
18:13 이세벨이 여호와의 선지자들을 죽일 때에 내가 여호와의 선지자 중에 일백 인을 오십 인씩 굴에 숨기고 떡과 물로 먹인 일이 내 주께 들리지 아니하였나이까
18:13 Wasn't it told my lord what I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of Yahweh, how I hid one hundred men of Yahweh's prophets with fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water?
18:14 이제 당신의 말씀이 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라 하시니 그리하면 저가 나를 죽이리이다
18:14 Now you say, 'Go, tell your lord, "Behold, Elijah is here;"' and he will kill me."
18:15 엘리야가 이르되 내가 모시는 만군의 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내가 오늘날 아합에게 보이리라
18:15 Elijah said, "As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today."
18:16 ○ 오바댜가 가서 아합을 만나 고하매 아합이 엘리야를 만나려 하여 가다가
18:16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him; and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
18:17 엘리야를 볼 때에 저에게 이르되 이스라엘을 괴롭게 하는 자여 네냐
18:17 It happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "Is that you, you troubler of Israel?"
18:18 저가 대답하되 내가 이스라엘을 괴롭게 한 것이 아니라 당신과 당신의 아비의 집이 괴롭게 하였으니 이는 여호와의 명령을 버렸고 당신이 바알들을 좇았음이라
18:18 He answered, "I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father's house, in that you have forsaken the commandments of Yahweh, and you have followed the Baals.
18:19 그런즉 보내어 온 이스라엘과 이세벨의 상에서 먹는 바알의 선지자 사백 오십 인과 아세라의 선지자 사백 인을 갈멜 산으로 모아 내게로 나오게 하소서
18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel to Mount Carmel, and four hundred fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of the Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table."
18:20 ○ 아합이 이에 이스라엘 모든 자손에게로 보내어 선지자들을 갈멜 산으로 모으니라
18:20 So Ahab sent to all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together to Mount Carmel.
18:21 엘리야가 모든 백성에게 가까이 나아가 이르되 너희가 어느 때까지 두 사이에서 머뭇머뭇 하려느냐 여호와가 만일 하나님이면 그를 좇고 바알이 만일 하나님이면 그를 좇을지니라 하니 백성이 한 말도 대답지 아니하는지라
18:21 Elijah came near to all the people, and said, "How long will you waver between the two sides? If Yahweh is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him." The people answered him not a word.
18:22 엘리야가 백성에게 이르되 여호와의 선지자는 나만 홀로 남았으나 바알의 선지자는 사백 오십 인이로다
18:22 Then Elijah said to the people, "I, even I only, am left a prophet of Yahweh; but Baal's prophets are four hundred fifty men.
18:23 그런즉 두 송아지를 우리에게 가져오게 하고 저희는 한 송아지를 택하여 각을 떠서 나무 위에 놓고 불은 놓지 말며 나도 한 송아지를 잡아 나무 위에 놓고 불은 놓지 말고
18:23 Let them therefore give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under; and I will dress the other bull, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under it.
18:24 너희는 너희 신의 이름을 부르라 나는 여호와의 이름을 부르리니 이에 불로 응답하는 신 그가 하나님이니라 백성이 다 대답하되 그 말이 옳도다
18:24 You call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Yahweh. The God who answers by fire, let him be God." All the people answered, "It is well said."
18:25 ○ 엘리야가 바알의 선지자들에게 이르되 너희는 많으니 먼저 한 송아지를 택하여 잡고 너희 신의 이름을 부르라 그러나 불을 놓지 말라
18:25 Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one bull for yourselves, and dress it first; for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it."
18:26 저희가 그 받은 송아지를 취하여 잡고 아침부터 낮까지 바알의 이름을 불러 가로되 바알이여 우리에게 응답하소서 하나 아무 소리도 없고 아무 응답하는 자도 없으므로 저희가 그 쌓은 단 주위에서 뛰놀더라
18:26 They took the bull which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any who answered. They leaped about the altar which was made.
18:27 오정에 이르러는 엘리야가 저희를 조롱하여 가로되 큰 소리로 부르라 저는 신인즉 묵상하고 있는지 혹 잠간 나갔는지 혹 길을 행하는지 혹 잠이 들어서 깨워야 할 것인지 하매
18:27 It happened at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, "Cry aloud; for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he has gone aside, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened."
18:28 이에 저희가 큰 소리로 부르고 그 규례를 따라 피가 흐르기까지 칼과 창으로 그 몸을 상하게 하더라
18:28 They cried aloud, and cut themselves in their way with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them.
18:29 이같이 하여 오정이 지났으나 저희가 오히려 진언을 하여 저녁 소제 드릴 때까지 이를지라도 아무 소리도 없고 아무 응답하는 자도 없고 아무 돌아보는 자도 없더라
18:29 It was so, when midday was past, that they prophesied until the time of the offering of the offering; but there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any who regarded.
18:30 ○ 엘리야가 모든 백성을 향하여 이르되 내게로 가까이 오라 백성이 다 저에게 가까이 오매 저가 무너진 여호와의 단을 수축하되
18:30 Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me;" and all the people came near to him. He repaired the altar of Yahweh that was thrown down.
18:31 야곱의 아들들의 지파의 수효를 따라 열 두 돌을 취하니 이 야곱은 여호와께서 옛적에 저에게 임하여 이르시기를 네 이름을 이스라엘이라 하리라 하신 자더라
18:31 Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of Yahweh came, saying, "Israel shall be your name."
18:32 저가 여호와의 이름을 의지하여 그 돌로 단을 쌓고 단으로 돌아가며 곡식 종자 두 세아를 용납할 만한 도랑을 만들고
18:32 With the stones he built an altar in the name of Yahweh. He made a trench around the altar, large enough to contain two measures of seed.
18:33 또 나무를 벌이고 송아지의 각을 떠서 나무 위에 놓고 이르되 통 넷에 물을 채워다가 번제물과 나무 위에 부으라 하고
18:33 He put the wood in order, and cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood. He said, "Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering, and on the wood."
18:34 또 이르되 다시 그리하라 하여 다시 그리하니 또 이르되 세 번 그리하라 하여 세 번 그리하니
18:34 He said, "Do it a second time;" and they did it the second time. He said, "Do it a third time;" and they did it the third time.
18:35 물이 단으로 두루 흐르고 도랑에도 물이 가득하게 되었더라
18:35 The water ran around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.
18:36 저녁 소제 드릴 때에 이르러 선지자 엘리야가 나아가서 말하되 아브라함과 이삭과 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 이스라엘 중에서 하나님이 되심과 내가 주의 종이 됨과 내가 주의 말씀대로 이 모든 일을 행하는 것을 오늘날 알게 하옵소서
18:36 It happened at the time of the offering of the offering, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.
18:37 여호와여 내게 응답하옵소서 내게 응답하옵소서 이 백성으로 주 여호와는 하나님이신 것과 주는 저희의 마음으로 돌이키게 하시는 것을 알게 하옵소서 하매
18:37 Hear me, Yahweh, hear me, that this people may know that you, Yahweh, are God, and that you have turned their heart back again."
18:38 이에 여호와의 불이 내려서 번제물과 나무와 돌과 흙을 태우고 또 도랑의 물을 핥은지라
18:38 Then the fire of Yahweh fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
18:39 모든 백성이 보고 엎드려 말하되 여호와 그는 하나님이시로다 여호와 그는 하나님이시로다 하니
18:39 When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces. They said, "Yahweh, he is God! Yahweh, he is God!"
18:40 엘리야가 저희에게 이르되 바알의 선지자를 잡되 하나도 도망하지 못하게 하라 하매 곧 잡은지라 엘리야가 저희를 기손 시내로 내려다가 거기서 죽이니라
18:40 Elijah said to them, "Seize the prophets of Baal! Don't let one of them escape!" They seized them. Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.
18:41 ○ 엘리야가 아합에게 이르되 올라가서 먹고 마시소서 큰 비의 소리가 있나이다
18:41 Elijah said to Ahab, "Get up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain."
18:42 아합이 먹고 마시러 올라가니라 엘리야가 갈멜 산 꼭대기로 올라가서 땅에 꿇어 엎드려 그 얼굴을 무릎 사이에 넣고
18:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees.
18:43 그 사환에게 이르되 올라가 바다 편을 바라보라 저가 올라가 바라보고 고하되 아무 것도 없나이다 가로되 일곱 번까지 다시 가라
18:43 He said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." He went up, and looked, and said, "There is nothing." He said, "Go again" seven times.
18:44 일곱 번째 이르러서는 저가 고하되 바다에서 사람의 손만한 작은 구름이 일어나나이다 가로되 올라가 아합에게 고하기를 비에 막히지 아니하도록 마차를 갖추고 내려가소서 하라 하니라
18:44 It happened at the seventh time, that he said, "Behold, a small cloud, like a man's hand, is rising out of the sea." He said, "Go up, tell Ahab, 'Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn't stop you.'"
18:45 조금 후에 구름과 바람이 일어나서 하늘이 캄캄하여지며 큰 비가 내리는지라 아합이 마차를 타고 이스르엘로 가니
18:45 It happened in a little while, that the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
18:46 여호와의 능력이 엘리야에게 임하매 저가 허리를 동이고 이스르엘로 들어가는 곳까지 아합 앞에서 달려갔더라
18:46 The hand of Yahweh was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
19:1 아합이 엘리야의 무릇 행한 일과 그가 어떻게 모든 선지자를 칼로 죽인 것을 이세벨에게 고하니
19:1 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
19:2 이세벨이 사자를 엘리야에게 보내어 이르되 내가 내일 이맘때에는 정녕 네 생명으로 저 사람들 중 한 사람의 생명 같게 하리라 아니하면 신들이 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내림이 마땅하니라 한지라
19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don't make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!"
19:3 저가 이 형편을 보고 일어나 그 생명을 위하여 도망하여 유다에 속한 브엘세바에 이르러 자기의 사환을 그 곳에 머물게 하고
19:3 When he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
19:4 스스로 광야로 들어가 하룻길쯤 행하고 한 로뎀나무 아래 앉아서 죽기를 구하여 가로되 여호와여 넉넉하오니 지금 내 생명을 취하옵소서 나는 내 열조보다 낫지 못하니이다 하고
19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, "It is enough. Now, O Yahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers."
19:5 로뎀나무 아래 누워 자더니 천사가 어루만지며 이르되 일어나서 먹으라 하는지라
19:5 He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, "Arise and eat!"
19:6 본즉 머리맡에 숯불에 구운 떡과 한 병 물이 있더라 이에 먹고 마시고 다시 누웠더니
19:6 He looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and laid down again.
19:7 여호와의 사자가 또 다시 와서 어루만지며 이르되 일어나서 먹으라 네가 길을 이기지 못할까 하노라 하는지라
19:7 The angel of Yahweh came again the second time, and touched him, and said, "Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you."
19:8 이에 일어나 먹고 마시고 그 식물의 힘을 의지하여 사십 주 사십 야를 행하여 하나님의 산 호렙에 이르니라
19:8 He arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the Mount of God.
19:9 ○ 엘리야가 그 곳 굴에 들어가 거기서 유하더니 여호와의 말씀이 저에게 임하여 이르시되 엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
19:9 He came there to a cave, and lodged there; and behold, the word of Yahweh came to him, and he said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
19:10 저가 대답하되 내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니 이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을 죽였음이오며 오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
19:10 He said, "I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away."
19:11 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 나가서 여호와의 앞에서 산에 섰으라 하시더니 여호와께서 지나가시는데 여호와의 앞에 크고 강한 바람이 산을 가르고 바위를 부수나 바람 가운데 여호와께서 계시지 아니하며 바람 후에 지진이 있으나 지진 가운데도 여호와께서 계시지 아니하며
19:11 He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before Yahweh." Behold, Yahweh passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.
19:12 또 지진 후에 불이 있으나 불 가운데도 여호와께서 계시지 아니하더니 불 후에 세미한 소리가 있는지라
19:12 After the earthquake a fire passed; but Yahweh was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
19:13 엘리야가 듣고 겉옷으로 얼굴을 가리우고 나가 굴 어귀에 서매 소리가 있어 저에게 임하여 가라사대 엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
19:13 It was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
19:14 저가 대답하되 내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니 이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을 죽였음이오며 오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
19:14 He said, "I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away."
19:15 ○ 여호와께서 저에게 이르시되 너는 네 길을 돌이켜 광야로 말미암아 다메섹에 가서 이르거든 하사엘에게 기름을 부어 아람 왕이 되게 하고
19:15 Yahweh said to him, "Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.
19:16 너는 또 님시의 아들 예후에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕이 되게 하고 또 아벨므흘라 사밧의 아들 엘리사에게 기름을 부어 너를 대신하여 선지자가 되게 하라
19:16 You shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
19:17 하사엘의 칼을 피하는 자를 예후가 죽일 것이요 예후의 칼을 피하는 자를 엘리사가 죽이리라
19:17 It shall happen, that he who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
19:18 그러나 내가 이스라엘 가운데 칠천 인을 남기리니 다 무릎을 바알에게 꿇지 아니하고 다 그 입을 바알에게 맞추지 아니한 자니라
19:18 Yet will I leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him."
19:19 ○ 엘리야가 거기서 떠나 사밧의 아들 엘리사를 만나니 저가 열 두 겨리 소를 앞세우고 밭을 가는데 자기는 열 둘째 겨리와 함께 있더라 엘리야가 그리로 건너가서 겉옷을 그의 위에 던졌더니
19:19 So he departed there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing, with twelve yoke [of oxen] before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed over to him, and cast his mantle on him.
19:20 저가 소를 버리고 엘리야에게로 달려가서 이르되 청컨대 나로 내 부모와 입맞추게 하소서 그리한 후에 내가 당신을 따르리이다 엘리야가 저에게 이르되 돌아가라 내가 네게 어떻게 행하였느냐 하니라
19:20 He left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, "Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you." He said to him, "Go back again; for what have I done to you?"
19:21 엘리사가 저를 떠나 돌아가서 소 한 겨리를 취하여 잡고 소의 기구를 불살라 그 고기를 삶아 백성에게 주어 먹게 하고 일어나 가서 엘리야를 좇으며 수종 들었더라
19:21 He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.
20:1 아람 왕 벤하닷이 그 군대를 다 모으니 왕 삼십 이 인이 저와 함께 있고 또 말과 병거들이 있더라 이에 올라가서 사마리아를 에워싸고 치며
20:1 Ben Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, and horses and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.
20:2 사자들을 성중 이스라엘 왕 아합에게 보내어 이르기를 벤하닷은 이르노니
20:2 He sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel, into the city, and said to him, "Thus says Ben Hadad,
20:3 네 은금은 내 것이요 네 처들과 네 자녀들의 아름다운 자도 내 것이니라 하매
20:3 'Your silver and your gold is mine. Your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.'"
20:4 이스라엘 왕이 대답하여 말하기를 내 주 왕이여 왕의 말씀 같이 나와 나의 것은 다 왕의 것이니이다 하였더니
20:4 The king of Israel answered, "It is according to your saying, my lord, O king. I am yours, and all that I have."
20:5 사자가 다시 와서 이르기를 벤하닷은 이르노라 내가 이미 네게 보내어 말하기를 너는 네 은금과 처들과 자녀들을 내게 붙이라 하였거니와
20:5 The messengers came again, and said, "Ben Hadad says, 'I sent indeed to you, saying, "You shall deliver me your silver, and your gold, and your wives, and your children;
20:6 내일 이맘때에 내가 내 신복을 네게 보내리니 저희가 네 집과 네 신복의 집을 수탐하여 무릇 네 눈이 기뻐하는 것을 그 손으로 잡아 가져가리라 한지라
20:6 but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house, and the houses of your servants; and it shall be, that whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away."'"
20:7 이에 이스라엘 왕이 나라의 장로를 다 불러 이르되 너희는 이 사람이 잔해하려고 구하는 줄을 자세히 알라 저가 나의 처들과 자녀들과 은금을 취하려고 사람을 내게 보내었으나 내가 거절치 못하였노라
20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, "Please notice how this man seeks mischief; for he sent to me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I didn't deny him."
20:8 모든 장로와 백성들이 다 왕께 고하되 왕은 듣지도 말고 허락지도 마옵소서 한지라
20:8 All the elders and all the people said to him, "Don't listen, neither consent."
20:9 그러므로 왕이 벤하닷의 사자에게 이르되 너희는 내 주 왕께 고하기를 왕이 처음에 보내어 종에게 구하신 것은 내가 다 그대로 하려니와 이것은 내가 할 수 없나이다 하라 사자들이 돌아가서 고하니라
20:9 Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do; but this thing I cannot do.'" The messengers departed, and brought him back the message.
20:10 벤하닷이 다시 저에게 보내어 이르되 사마리아의 부스러진 것이 나를 좇는 백성의 무리의 손에 채우기에 족할 것 같으면 신들이 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내림이 마땅하니라 하매
20:10 Ben Hadad sent to him, and said, "The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me."
20:11 이스라엘 왕이 대답하여 가로되 갑옷 입은 자가 갑옷 벗는 자 같이 자랑치 못할 것이라 하라 하니라
20:11 The king of Israel answered, "Tell him, 'Don't let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.'"
20:12 벤하닷이 왕들과 장막에서 마시다가 이 말을 듣고 그 신복에게 이르되 너희는 진을 베풀라 하매 곧 성을 향하여 진을 베푸니라
20:12 It happened, when Ben Hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings, in the pavilions, that he said to his servants, "Prepare to attack!" They prepared to attack the city.
20:13 ○ 한 선지자가 이스라엘 왕 아합에게 나아가서 가로되 여호와의 말씀이 네가 이 큰 무리를 보느냐 내가 오늘 저희를 네 손에 붙이리니 너는 내가 여호와인 줄 알리라 하셨나이다
20:13 Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand this day; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.'"
20:14 아합이 가로되 누구로 하시리이까 대답하되 여호와의 말씀이 각 도의 방백의 소년들로 하리라 하셨나이다 아합이 가로되 누가 싸움을 시작하리이까 대답하되 왕이니이다
20:14 Ahab said, "By whom?" He said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'By the young men of the princes of the provinces.'" Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" He answered, "You."
20:15 아합이 이에 각 도의 방백의 소년들을 계수하니 이백 삼십 이 인이요 그 외에 모든 백성 곧 이스라엘의 모든 자손을 계수하니 칠천 인이더라
20:15 Then he mustered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty-two. After them, he mustered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.
20:16 ○ 저희가 오정에 나가니 벤하닷은 장막에서 돕는 왕 삼십 이 인으로 더불어 마시고 취한 중이라
20:16 They went out at noon. But Ben Hadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty-two kings who helped him.
20:17 각 도의 방백의 소년들이 먼저 나갔더라 벤하닷이 탐지군을 보내었더니 저희가 회보하여 가로되 사마리아에서 사람들이 나오더이다 하매
20:17 The young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben Hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, "Men are coming out from Samaria."
20:18 저가 이르되 화친하러 나올지라도 사로잡고 싸우러 나올지라도 사로잡으라 하니라
20:18 He said, "If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive."
20:19 각 도의 방백의 소년들과 저희를 좇는 군대들이 성에서 나가서
20:19 So these went out of the city, the young men of the princes of the provinces, and the army which followed them.
20:20 각각 적군을 쳐죽이매 아람 사람이 도망하는지라 이스라엘이 쫓으니 아람 왕 벤하닷이 말을 타고 마병으로 더불어 도망하여 면하니라
20:20 They each killed his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them. Ben Hadad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.
20:21 이스라엘 왕이 나가서 말과 병거를 치고 또 아람 사람을 쳐서 크게 도륙하였더라
20:21 The king of Israel went out, and struck the horses and chariots, and killed the Syrians with a great slaughter.
20:22 ○ 그 선지자가 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 가로되 왕은 가서 힘을 기르고 왕의 행할 일을 알고 준비하소서 해가 돌아오면 아람 왕이 왕을 치러 오리이다 하니라
20:22 The prophet came near to the king of Israel, and said to him, "Go, strengthen yourself, and mark, and see what you do; for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against you."
20:23 아람 왕의 신복들이 왕께 고하되 저희의 신은 산의 신이므로 저희가 우리보다 강하였거니와 우리가 만일 평지에서 저희와 싸우면 정녕 저희보다 강할지라
20:23 The servants of the king of Syria said to him, "Their god is a god of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we. But let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.
20:24 왕은 이 일을 행하실지니 곧 왕들을 제하여 각각 그 곳에서 떠나게 하고 저희 대신에 장관들을 두시고
20:24 Do this thing: take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their place.
20:25 또 왕의 잃어버린 군대와 같은 군대를 왕을 위하여 충수하고 말도 말대로, 병거도 병거대로 충수하고 우리가 평지에서 저희와 싸우면 정녕 저희보다 강하리이다 왕이 그 말을 듣고 그리하니라
20:25 Muster an army, like the army that you have lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot. We will fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than them." He listened to their voice, and did so.
20:26 ○ 해가 돌아오매 벤하닷이 아람 사람을 점고하고 아벡으로 올라와서 이스라엘과 싸우려 하매
20:26 It happened at the return of the year, that Ben Hadad mustered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
20:27 이스라엘 자손도 점고함을 입고 군량을 받고 마주 나가서 저희 앞에 진을 치니 이스라엘은 염소 새끼의 두 적은 떼와 같고 아람 사람은 그 땅에 가득하였더라
20:27 The children of Israel were mustered, and were provisioned, and went against them. The children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of young goats; but the Syrians filled the country.
20:28 때에 하나님의 사람이 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 고하여 가로되 여호와의 말씀이 아람 사람이 말하기를 여호와는 산의 신이요 골짜기의 신은 아니라 하도다 그러므로 내가 이 큰 군대를 다 네 손에 붙이리니 너희는 내가 여호와인 줄 알리라 하셨나이다 하니라
20:28 man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Because the Syrians have said, "Yahweh is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys;" therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.'"
20:29 진이 서로 대한 지 칠 일이라 제 칠 일에 접전하여 이스라엘 자손이 하루에 아람 보병 십만을 죽이매
20:29 They encamped one over against the other seven days. So it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand footmen of the Syrians in one day.
20:30 그 남은 자는 아벡으로 도망하여 성읍으로 들어갔더니 그 성이 그 남은 자 이만 칠천 위에 무너지고 벤하닷은 도망하여 성읍에 이르러 골방으로 들어가니라
20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men who were left. Ben Hadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner room.
20:31 ○ 그 신복들이 저에게 고하되 우리가 들은즉 이스라엘 집의 왕들은 인자한 왕이라 하니 만일 우리가 굵은 베로 허리를 묶고 테두리를 머리에 이고 이스라엘 왕에게로 나아가면 저가 혹시 왕의 생명을 살리리이다 하고
20:31 His servants said to him, "See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies, and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life."
20:32 저희가 굵은 베로 허리를 묶고 테두리를 머리에 이고 이스라엘 왕에게 이르러 가로되 왕의 종 벤하닷이 청하기를 나의 생명을 살려 주옵소서 하더이다 아합이 가로되 저가 오히려 살았느냐 저는 나의 형제니라
20:32 So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, "Your servant Ben Hadad says, 'Please let me live.'" He said, "Is he still alive? He is my brother."
20:33 그 사람들이 징조로 여기고 그 말을 얼른 받아 대답하여 가로되 벤하닷은 왕의 형제니이다 왕이 가로되 너희는 가서 저를 인도하여 오라 벤하닷이 이에 왕에게 나아오니 왕이 저를 병거에 올린지라
20:33 Now the men observed diligently, and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, "Your brother Ben Hadad." Then he said, "Go, bring him." Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
20:34 벤하닷이 왕께 고하되 내 부친이 당신의 부친에게서 빼앗은 모든 성읍을 내가 돌려보내리이다 또 나의 부친이 사마리아에서 만든 것 같이 당신도 다메섹에서 당신을 위하여 거리를 만드소서 아합이 가로되 내가 이 약조로 당신을 놓으리라 하고 이에 더불어 약조하고 저를 놓았더라
20:34 Ben Hadad said to him, "The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria." "I," said Ahab, "will let you go with this covenant." So he made a covenant with him, and let him go.
20:35 ○ 선지자의 무리 중 한 사람이 여호와의 말씀으로 그 동무에게 이르되 너는 나를 치라 하였더니 그 사람이 치기를 싫어 하는지라
20:35 certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the word of Yahweh, "Please strike me!" The man refused to strike him.
20:36 저가 그 사람에게 이르되 네가 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 아니하였으니 네가 나를 떠나갈 때에 사자가 너를 죽이리라 그 사람이 저의 곁을 떠나가더니 사자가 그를 만나 죽였더라
20:36 Then he said to him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh, behold, as soon as you are departed from me, a lion shall kill you." As soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and killed him.
20:37 저가 또 다른 사람을 만나 가로되 너는 나를 치라 하매 그 사람이 저를 치되 상하도록 친지라
20:37 Then he found another man, and said, "Please strike me." The man struck him, smiting and wounding him.
20:38 선지자가 가서 수건으로 그 눈을 가리워 변형하고 길 가에서 왕을 기다리다가
20:38 So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with his headband over his eyes.
20:39 왕이 지나갈 때에 소리 질러 왕을 불러 가로되 종이 전장 가운데 나갔더니 한 사람이 돌이켜 어떤 사람을 끌고 내게로 와서 말하기를 이 사람을 지키라 만일 저를 잃어버리면 네 생명으로 저의 생명을 대신하거나 그렇지 아니하면 네가 은 한 달란트를 내어야 하리라 하였거늘
20:39 As the king passed by, he cried to the king; and he said, "Your servant went out into the midst of the battle; and behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man to me, and said, 'Guard this man! If by any means he be missing, then your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.'
20:40 종이 이리저리 일볼 동안에 저가 없어졌나이다 이스라엘 왕이 저에게 이르되 네가 스스로 결정하였으니 그대로 당하여야 하리라
20:40 As your servant was busy here and there, he was gone." The king of Israel said to him, "So your judgment shall be; yourself have decided it."
20:41 저가 급히 그 눈에 가리운 수건을 벗으니 이스라엘 왕이 저는 선지자 중 한 사람인 줄 알아본지라
20:41 He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was of the prophets.
20:42 저가 왕께 고하되 여호와의 말씀이 내가 멸하기로 작정한 사람을 네 손으로 놓았은즉 네 목숨은 저의 목숨을 대신하고 네 백성은 저의 백성을 대신하리라 하셨나이다
20:42 He said to him, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.'"
20:43 이스라엘 왕이 근심하고 답답하여 그 궁으로 돌아가려고 사마리아에 이르니라
20:43 The king of Israel went to his house sullen and angry, and came to Samaria.
21:1 그 후에 이 일이 있으니라 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 이스르엘에 포도원이 있어 사마리아 왕 아합의 궁에서 가깝더니
21:1 It happened after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
21:2 아합이 나봇에게 일러 가로되 네 포도원이 내 궁 곁에 가까이 있으니 내게 주어 나물 밭을 삼게 하라 내가 그 대신에 그보다 더 아름다운 포도원을 네게 줄 것이요 만일 합의하면 그 값을 돈으로 네게 주리라
21:2 Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, "Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near to my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money."
21:3 나봇이 아합에게 말하되 내 열조의 유업을 왕에게 주기를 여호와께서 금하실지로다 하니
21:3 Naboth said to Ahab, "May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!"
21:4 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 아합에게 대답하여 이르기를 내 조상의 유업을 왕께 줄 수 없다 함을 인하여 아합이 근심하고 답답하여 궁으로 돌아와서 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌이키고 식사를 아니하니
21:4 Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers." He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
21:5 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 나아와 가로되 왕의 마음에 무엇을 근심하여 식사를 아니하나이까
21:5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, "Why is your spirit so sad, that you eat no bread?"
21:6 왕이 이르되 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 말하여 이르기를 네 포도원을 내게 주되 돈으로 바꾸거나 만일 네가 좋아하면 내가 그 대신에 포도원을 네게 주리라 한즉 저가 대답하기를 내가 내 포도원을 네게 주지 않겠노라 함을 인함이로라
21:6 He said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, 'Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.' He answered, 'I will not give you my vineyard.'"
21:7 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 이르되 왕이 이제 이스라엘 나라를 다스리시나이까 일어나 식사를 하시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 왕께 드리리이다 하고
21:7 Jezebel his wife said to him, "Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."
21:8 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 쓰고 그 인을 쳐서 그 성에서 나봇과 함께 사는 장로와 귀인들에게 보내니
21:8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.
21:9 그 편지 사연에 이르기를 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉힌 후에
21:9 She wrote in the letters, saying, "Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
21:10 비류 두 사람을 그 앞에 마주 앉히고 저에게 대하여 증거하기를 네가 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하게 하고 곧 저를 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이라 하였더라
21:10 Set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, 'You cursed God and the king!' Then carry him out, and stone him to death."
21:11 ○ 그 성 사람 곧 그 성에 사는 장로와 귀인들이 이세벨의 분부 곧 저가 자기들에게 보낸 편지에 쓴 대로 하여
21:11 The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.
21:12 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히매
21:12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
21:13 때에 비류 두 사람이 들어와서 그 앞에 앉고 백성 앞에서 나봇에게 대하여 증거를 지어 이르기를 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하매 무리가 저를 성 밖으로 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이고
21:13 The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him. The base fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king!" Then they carried him out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.
21:14 이세벨에게 통보하기를 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다 하니
21:14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, "Naboth has been stoned, and is dead."
21:15 이세벨이 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다 함을 듣고 아합에게 이르되 일어나서 그 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈으로 바꾸어 주기를 싫어하던 포도원을 취하소서 나봇이 살아 있지 아니하고 죽었나이다
21:15 It happened, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, "Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead."
21:16 아합이 나봇의 죽었다 함을 듣고 곧 일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 취하러 그리로 내려갔더라
21:16 It happened, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
21:17 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
21:17 The word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:18 너는 일어나 내려가서 사마리아에 거하는 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나라 저가 나봇의 포도원을 취하러 그리로 내려갔나니
21:18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.
21:19 너는 저에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 네가 죽이고 또 빼앗았느냐 하셨다 하고 또 저에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 곳에서 개들이 네 피 곧 네 몸의 피도 핥으리라 하셨다 하라
21:19 You shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says Yahweh, "Have you killed and also taken possession?"' You shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says Yahweh, "In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours."'"
21:20 아합이 엘리야에게 이르되 나의 대적이여 네가 나를 찾았느냐 대답하되 내가 찾았노라 네가 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으므로
21:20 Ahab said to Elijah, "Have you found me, my enemy?" He answered, "I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh.
21:21 여호와의 말씀이 내가 재앙을 네게 내려 너를 쓸어 버리되 네게 속한 남자는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자를 다 멸할 것이요
21:21 Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
21:22 또 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집처럼 되게 하고 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집처럼 되게 하리니 이는 네가 나의 노를 격동하고 이스라엘로 범죄케 한 까닭이니라 하셨고
21:22 will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin."
21:23 이세벨에게 대하여도 여호와께서 말씀하여 가라사대 개들이 이스르엘 성 곁에서 이세벨을 먹을지라
21:23 Yahweh also spoke of Jezebel, saying, "The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.
21:24 아합에게 속한 자로서 성읍에서 죽은 자는 개들이 먹고 들에서 죽은 자는 공중의 새가 먹으리라 하셨느니라 하니
21:24 The dogs will eat he who dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat he who dies in the field."
21:25 예로부터 아합과 같이 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행한 자가 없음은 저가 그 아내 이세벨에게 충동되었음이라
21:25 But there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
21:26 저가 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 사람의 모든 행한 것 같이 우상에게 복종하여 심히 가증하게 행하였더라
21:26 He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
21:27 ○ 아합이 이 모든 말씀을 들을 때에 그 옷을 찢고 굵은 베로 몸을 동이고 금식하고 굵은 베에 누우며 행보도 천천히 한지라
21:27 It happened, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
21:28 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
21:28 The word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:29 아합이 내 앞에서 겸비함을 네가 보느냐 저가 내 앞에서 겸비함을 인하여 내가 재앙을 저의 시대에 내리지 아니하고 그 아들의 시대에야 그 집에 재앙을 내리리라 하셨더라
21:29 See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but in his son's days will I bring the evil on his house."
22:1 아람과 이스라엘 사이에 전쟁이 없이 삼 년을 지내었더라
22:1 They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
22:2 제 삼 년에 유다 왕 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 내려가매
22:2 It happened in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
22:3 이스라엘 왕이 그 신복에게 이르되 길르앗 라못은 본래 우리의 것인 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 우리가 어찌 아람 왕의 손에서 취하지 아니하고 잠잠히 있으리요 하고
22:3 The king of Israel said to his servants, "You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we are still, and don't take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?"
22:4 여호사밧에게 이르되 당신은 나와 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 싸우시겠느뇨 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 나는 당신과 일반이요 내 백성은 당신의 백성과 일반이요 내 말들도 당신의 말들과 일반이니이다
22:4 He said to Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses."
22:5 ○ 여호사밧이 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 청컨대 먼저 여호와의 말씀이 어떠하신지 물어보소서
22:5 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh."
22:6 이스라엘 왕이 이에 선지자 사백 인쯤 모으고 저희에게 이르되 내가 길르앗 라못에 가서 싸우랴 말랴 저희가 가로되 올라가소서 주께서 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다
22:6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?" They said, "Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king."
22:7 여호사밧이 가로되 이 외에 우리가 물을 만한 여호와의 선지자가 여기 있지 아니하니이까
22:7 But Jehoshaphat said, "Isn't there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?"
22:8 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 오히려 이믈라의 아들 미가야 한 사람이 있으니 저로 말미암아 여호와께 물을 수 있으나 저는 내게 대하여 길한 일은 예언하지 아니하고 흉한 일만 예언하기로 내가 저를 미워하나이다 여호사밧이 가로되 왕은 그런 말씀을 마소서
22:8 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil." Jehoshaphat said, "Don't let the king say so."
22:9 이스라엘 왕이 한 내시를 불러 이르되 이믈라의 아들 미가야로 속히 오게 하라 하니라
22:9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, "Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah."
22:10 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧이 왕복을 입고 사마리아 문 어귀 광장에서 각기 보좌에 앉았고 모든 선지자가 그 앞에서 예언을 하는데
22:10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
22:11 그나아나의 아들 시드기야는 철로 뿔들을 만들어 가지고 말하되 여호와의 말씀이 왕이 이것들로 아람 사람을 찔러 진멸하리라 하셨다 하고
22:11 Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.'"
22:12 모든 선지자도 그와 같이 예언하여 이르기를 길르앗 라못으로 올라가 승리를 얻으소서 여호와께서 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다 하더라
22:12 All the prophets prophesied so, saying, "Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king."
22:13 미가야를 부르러 간 사자가 일러 가로되 선지자들의 말이 여출일구하여 왕에게 길하게 하니 청컨대 당신의 말도 저희 중 한 사람의 말처럼 길하게 하소서
22:13 The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, "See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good."
22:14 미가야가 가로되 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 여호와께서 내게 말씀하시는 것 곧 그것을 내가 말하리라 하고
22:14 Micaiah said, "As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak."
22:15 이에 왕에게 이르니 왕이 저에게 이르되 미가야야 우리가 길르앗 라못으로 싸우러 가랴 말랴 저가 왕께 이르되 올라가서 승리를 얻으소서 여호와께서 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다
22:15 When he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?" He answered him, "Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king."
22:16 왕이 저에게 이르되 내가 몇 번이나 너로 맹세케 하여야 네가 여호와의 이름으로 진실한 것으로만 내게 고하겠느냐
22:16 The king said to him, "How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?"
22:17 저가 가로되 내가 보니 온 이스라엘이 목자 없는 양 같이 산에 흩어졌는데 여호와의 말씀이 이 무리가 주인이 없으니 각각 평안히 그 집으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하셨나이다
22:17 He said, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, 'These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.'"
22:18 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 저 사람이 내게 대하여 길한 것을 예언하지 아니하고 흉한 것을 예언하겠다고 당신에게 말씀하지 아니하였나이까
22:18 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Didn't I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
22:19 미가야가 가로되 그런즉 왕은 여호와의 말씀을 들으소서 내가 보니 여호와께서 그 보좌에 앉으셨고 하늘의 만군이 그 좌우편에 모시고 서 있는데
22:19 Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of Yahweh. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
22:20 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 누가 아합을 꾀어 저로 길르앗 라못에 올라가서 죽게 할꼬 하시니 하나는 이렇게 하겠다 하고 하나는 저렇게 하겠다 하였는데
22:20 Yahweh said, 'Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?' One said one thing; and another said another.
22:21 한 영이 나아와 여호와 앞에 서서 말하되 내가 저를 꾀이겠나이다
22:21 spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, 'I will entice him.'
22:22 여호와께서 저에게 이르시되 어떻게 하겠느냐 가로되 내가 나가서 거짓말하는 영이 되어 그 모든 선지자의 입에 있겠나이다 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 꾀이겠고 또 이루리라 나가서 그리하라 하셨은즉
22:22 Yahweh said to him, 'How?' He said, 'I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' He said, 'You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.'
22:23 이제 여호와께서 거짓말하는 영을 왕의 이 모든 선지자의 입에 넣으셨고 또 여호와께서 왕에게 대하여 화를 말씀하셨나이다
22:23 Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you."
22:24 ○ 그나아나의 아들 시드기야가 가까이 와서 미가야의 뺨을 치며 이르되 여호와의 영이 나를 떠나 어디로 말미암아 가서 네게 말씀 하더냐
22:24 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?"
22:25 미가야가 가로되 네가 골방에 들어가서 숨는 그 날에 보리라
22:25 Micaiah said, "Behold, you will see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself."
22:26 이스라엘 왕이 가로되 미가야를 잡아 부윤 아몬과 왕자 요아스에게로 끌고 돌아가서
22:26 The king of Israel said, "Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son.
22:27 말하기를 왕의 말씀이 이 놈을 옥에 가두고 내가 평안히 돌아올 때까지 고생의 떡과 고생의 물로 먹이라 하라
22:27 Say, 'Thus says the king, "Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace."'"
22:28 미가야가 가로되 왕이 참으로 평안히 돌아오시게 될진대 여호와께서 나로 말씀하지 아니하셨으리이다 또 가로되 너희 백성들아 다 들을지어다 하니라
22:28 Micaiah said, "If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me." He said, "Listen, all you people!"
22:29 ○ 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧이 길르앗 라못으로 올라가니라
22:29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
22:30 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 나는 변장하고 군중으로 들어가려 하노니 당신은 왕복을 입으소서 하고 이스라엘 왕이 변장하고 군중으로 들어가니라
22:30 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes." The king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
22:31 아람 왕이 그 병거의 장관 삼십 이 인에게 명하여 이르기를 너희는 작은 자나 큰 자나 더불어 싸우지 말고 오직 이스라엘 왕과 싸우라 한지라
22:31 Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.
22:32 병거의 장관들이 여호사밧을 보고 이르되 이가 필연 이스라엘 왕이라 하고 돌이켜 저와 싸우려 한즉 여호사밧이 소리 지르는지라
22:32 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, "Surely that is the king of Israel!" and they turned aside to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
22:33 병거의 장관들이 저가 이스라엘 왕이 아님을 보고 쫓기를 그치고 돌이켰더라
22:33 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
22:34 한 사람이 우연히 활을 당기어 이스라엘 왕의 갑옷 솔기를 쏜지라 왕이 그 병거 모는 자에게 이르되 내가 부상하였으니 네 손을 돌이켜 나로 군중에서 나가게 하라 하였으나
22:34 certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, "Turn your hand, and carry me out of the battle; for I am severely wounded."
22:35 이 날에 전쟁이 맹렬하였으므로 왕이 병거 가운데 붙들려 서서 아람 사람을 막다가 저녁에 이르러 죽었는데 상처의 피가 흘러 병거 바닥에 고였더라
22:35 The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
22:36 해가 질 즈음에 군중에서 외치는 소리 있어 가로되 각기 성읍으로, 각기 본향으로 하더라
22:36 cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, "Every man to his city, and every man to his country!"
22:37 ○ 왕이 이미 죽으매 그 시체를 메어 사마리아에 이르러 거기 장사하니라
22:37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
22:38 그 병거를 사마리아 못에 씻으매 개들이 그 피를 핥았으니 여호와의 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라 거기는 창기들의 목욕하는 곳이었더라
22:38 They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves; according to the word of Yahweh which he spoke.
22:39 아합의 남은 행적과 무릇 그 행한 일과 그 건축한 상아궁과 그 건축한 모든 성은 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
22:39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22:40 아합이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 아들 아하시야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
22:40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
22:41 ○ 이스라엘 왕 아합 제 사 년에 아사의 아들 여호사밧이 유다 왕이 되니
22:41 Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
22:42 여호사밧이 왕이 될 때에 나이 삼십 오 세라 예루살렘에서 이십 오 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 아수바라 실히의 딸이더라
22:42 Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
22:43 여호사밧이 그 부친 아사의 모든 길로 행하며 돌이켜 떠나지 아니하고 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하였으나 산당은 폐하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 오히려 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였더라
22:43 He walked in all the way of Asa his father; He didn't turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh: however the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
22:44 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕으로 더불어 평화하니라
22:44 Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
22:45 ○ 여호사밧의 남은 사적과 그 베푼 권세와 그 어떻게 전쟁한 것은 다 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
22:45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
22:46 저가 그 부친 아사의 시대에 남아 있던 남색하는 자를 그 땅에서 쫓아내었더라
22:46 The remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
22:47 그 때에 에돔에는 왕이 없고 섭정왕이 있었더라
22:47 There was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
22:48 여호사밧이 다시스의 선척을 제조하고 오빌로 금을 취하러 보내려 하였더니 그 배가 에시온게벨에서 파선하였으므로 가지 못하게 되매
22:48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they didn't go; for the ships were broken at Ezion Geber.
22:49 아합의 아들 아하시야가 여호사밧에게 이르되 나의 종으로 당신의 종과 함께 배에 가게 하라 하나 여호사밧이 허락지 아니하였더라
22:49 Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, "Let my servants go with your servants in the ships." But Jehoshaphat would not.
22:50 여호사밧이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 조상 다윗 성에 그 열조와 함께 장사되고 그 아들 여호람이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
22:50 Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
22:51 ○ 유다 왕 여호사밧 제 십 칠 년에 아합의 아들 아하시야가 사마리아에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
22:51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
22:52 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 그 아비의 길과 그 어미의 길과 이스라엘로 범죄케 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 길로 행하며
22:52 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
22:53 바알을 섬겨 숭배하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격동하기를 그 아비의 온갖 행위 같이 하였더라
22:53 He served Baal, and worshiped him, and provoked to anger Yahweh, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
