1:1 유다 왕 웃시야의 시대 곧 이스라엘 왕 요아스의 아들 여로보암의 시대의
지진 전 이 년에 드고아 목자 중 아모스가 이스라엘에 대하여 묵시 받은 말씀이라
1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa; what he saw about Israel
in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash,
king of Israel, two years before the earth-shock.
1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning
Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the
son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
1:2 ○ 저가 가로되 여호와께서 시온에서부터 부르짖으시며 예루살렘에서부터
음성을 발하시리니 목자의 초장이 애통하며 갈멜 산 꼭대기가 마르리로다
1:2 And he said, The Lord will give a lion's cry from Zion, his voice will be sounding
from Jerusalem; and the fields of the keepers of sheep will become dry, and the
top of Carmel will be wasted away.
1:2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem;
and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall
wither.
1:3 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 다메섹의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저희가 철 타작하듯 길르앗을 압박하였음이라
1:3 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have been crushing Gilead with iron grain-crushing
instruments.
1:3 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead
with threshing instruments of iron:
1:4 내가 하사엘의 집에 불을 보내리니 벤하닷의 궁궐들을 사르리라
1:4 And I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, burning up the great houses of
Ben-hadad.
1:4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the
palaces of Benhadad.
1:5 내가 다메섹 빗장을 꺾으며 아웬 골짜기에서 그 거민을 끊으며 벧에던에서
홀 잡은 자를 끊으리니 아람 백성이 사로잡혀 길에 이르리라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
1:5 And I will have the locks of the door of Damascus broken, and him who is seated
in power cut off from the valley of Aven, and him in whose hand is the rod from
the house of Eden; and the people of Aram will go away as prisoners into Kir, says
the Lord.
1:5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from
the plain of Aven, and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden: and
the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, says the LORD.
1:6 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 가사의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저희가 모든 사로잡은 자를 끌어 에돔에 붙였음이라
1:6 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they took all the people away prisoners, to
give them up to Edom.
1:6 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I
will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive
the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
1:7 내가 가사 성에 불을 보내리니 그 궁궐들을 사르리라
1:7 And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, burning up its great houses:
1:7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces
thereof:
1:8 내가 또 아스돗에서 그 거민과 아스글론에서 홀 잡은 자를 끊고 또 손을 돌이켜
에그론을 치리니 블레셋의 남아 있는 자가 멸망하리라 이는 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
1:8 Him who is seated in power I will have cut off from Ashdod, and him in whose hand
is the rod from Ashkelon; and my hand will be turned against Ekron, and the rest
of the Philistines will come to destruction, says the Lord God.
1:8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holds the
sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant
of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord GOD.
1:9 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 두로의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저희가 그 형제의 계약을 기억지 아니하고 모든 사로잡은 자를 에돔에
붙였음이라
1:9 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they gave up all the people prisoners to Edom,
without giving a thought to the brothers' agreement between them.
1:9 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole
captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
1:10 내가 두로 성에 불을 보내리니 그 궁궐들을 사르리라
1:10 And I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, burning up its great houses.
1:10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the
palaces thereof.
1:11 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 에돔의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저가 칼로 그 형제를 쫓아가며 긍휼을 버리며 노가 항상 맹렬하며
분을 끝 없이 품었음이라
1:11 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because his sword was turned against his brother, without
pity, and his wrath was burning at all times, and he was angry for ever.
1:11 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother
with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually,
and he kept his wrath for ever:
1:12 내가 데만에 불을 보내리니 보스라의 궁궐들을 사르리라
1:12 And I will send a fire on Teman, burning up the great houses of Bozrah.
1:12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of
Bozrah.
1:13 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 암몬 자손의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을
돌이키지 아니하리니 이는 저희가 자기 지경을 넓히고자 하여 길르앗의 아이 밴 여인의
배를 갈랐음이니라
1:13 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and
for four, I will not let its fate be changed; because in Gilead they had women with
child cut open, so that they might make wider the limits of their land.
1:13 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon,
and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
1:14 내가 랍바 성에 불을 놓아 그 궁궐들을 사르되 전쟁의 날에 외침과 회리바람
날에 폭풍으로 할 것이며
1:14 And I will make a fire in the wall of Rabbah, burning up its great houses, with
loud cries in the days of war, with a storm in the day of the great wind:
1:14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour
the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the
day of the whirlwind:
1:15 저희의 왕은 그 방백들과 함께 사로잡혀 가리라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
1:15 And their king will be made prisoner, he and his captains together, says the Lord.
1:15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together,
says the LORD.
2:1 여호와께서 가라사대 모압의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저가 에돔 왕의 뼈를 불살라 회를 만들었음이라
2:1 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Moab, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because he had the bones of the king of Edom burned
to dust.
2:1 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I
will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the
king of Edom into lime:
2:2 내가 모압에 불을 보내리니 그리욧 궁궐들을 사르리라 모압이 요란함과 외침과
나팔 소리 중에서 죽을 것이라
2:2 And I will send a fire on Moab, burning up the great houses of Kerioth: and death
will come on Moab with noise and outcries and the sound of the horn:
2:2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of
Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of
the trumpet:
2:3 내가 그 중에서 재판장을 멸하며 방백들을 저와 함께 죽이리라 이는 여호와의
말씀이니라
2:3 And I will have the judge cut off from among them, and all their captains I will
put to death with him, says the Lord.
2:3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all
the princes thereof with him, says the LORD.
2:4 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 유다의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저희가 여호와의 율법을 멸시하며 그 율례를 지키지 아니하고 그
열조의 따라가던 거짓 것에 미혹하였음이라
2:4 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Judah, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have given up the law of the Lord, and
have not kept his rules; and their false ways, in which their fathers went, have
made them go out of the right way.
2:4 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the
law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them
to go astray, after the which their fathers have walked:
2:5 내가 유다에 불을 보내리니 예루살렘의 궁궐들을 사르리라
2:5 And I will send a fire on Judah, burning up the great houses of Jerusalem.
2:5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of
Jerusalem.
2:6 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘의 서너 가지 죄로 인하여 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지
아니하리니 이는 저희가 은을 받고 의인을 팔며 신 한 켤레를 받고 궁핍한 자를 팔며
2:6 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Israel, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have given the upright man for silver,
and the poor for the price of two shoes;
2:6 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous
for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
2:7 가난한 자의 머리에 있는 티끌을 탐내며 겸손한 자의 길을 굽게 하며 부자가
한 젊은 여인에게 다녀서 나의 거룩한 이름을 더럽히며
2:7 Crushing the head of the poor, and turning the steps of the gentle out of the way:
and a man and his father go in to the same young woman, putting shame on my holy
name:
2:7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn
aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same
maid, to profane my holy name:
2:8 모든 단 옆에서 전당 잡은 옷 위에 누우며 저희 신의 전에서 벌금으로 얻은
포도주를 마심이니라
2:8 By every altar they are stretched on clothing taken from those who are in their
debt, drinking in the house of their god the wine of those who have made payment
for wrongdoing.
2:8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar,
and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.
2:9 ○ 내가 아모리 사람을 저희 앞에서 멸하였나니 그 키는 백향목 높이와 같고
강하기는 상수리나무 같으나 내가 그 위의 열매와 그 아래의 뿌리를 진멸하지 아니하였느냐
2:9 Though I sent destruction on the Amorite before them, who was tall as the cedar
and strong as the oak-tree, cutting off his fruit from on high and his roots from
under the earth.
2:9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height
of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from
above, and his roots from beneath.
2:10 내가 너희를 애굽 땅에서 이끌어 내어 사십 년 동안 광야에서 인도하고 아모리
사람의 땅을 너희로 차지하게 하였고
2:10 And I took you up out of the land of Egypt, guiding you for forty years in the waste
land, so that you might take for your heritage the land of the Amorite.
2:10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years
through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
2:11 또 너희 아들 중에서 선지자를, 너희 청년 중에서 나시르 사람을 일으켰나니
이스라엘 자손들아 과연 그렇지 아니하냐 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
2:11 And some of your sons I made prophets, and some of your young men I made separate
for myself. Is it not even so, O children of Israel? says the Lord.
2:11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for
Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O all of you children of Israel? says the LORD.
2:12 그러나 너희가 나시르 사람으로 포도주를 마시게 하며 또 선지자에게 명하여
예언하지 말라 하였느니라
2:12 But to those who were separate you gave wine for drink; and to the prophets you
said, Be prophets no longer.
2:12 But all of you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets,
saying, Prophesy not.
2:13 ○ 곡식 단을 가득히 실은 수레가 흙을 누름 같이 내가 너희 자리에 너희를
누르리니
2:13 See, I am crushing you down, as one is crushed under a cart full of grain.
2:13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of
sheaves.
2:14 빨리 달음박질하는 자도 도망할 수 없으며 강한 자도 자기 힘을 낼 수 없으며
용사도 피할 수 없으며
2:14 And flight will be impossible for the quick-footed, and the force of the strong
will become feeble, and the man of war will not get away safely:
2:14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall
not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:
2:15 활을 가진 자도 설 수 없으며 발이 빠른 자도 피할 수 없으며 말 타는 자도
피할 수 없고
2:15 And the bowman will not keep his place; he who is quick-footed will not get away
safely: and the horseman will not keep his life.
2:15 Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of
foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rides the horse deliver
himself.
2:16 용사 중에 굳센 자는 그 날에 벌거벗고야 도망하리라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
2:16 And he who is without fear among the fighting men will go in flight without his
clothing in that day, says the Lord.
2:16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in
that day, says the LORD.
3:1 이스라엘 자손들아 여호와께서 너희를 쳐서 이르시는 이 말씀을 들으라 애굽
땅에서 인도하여 올리신 온 족속을 쳐서 이르시기를
3:1 Give ear to this word which the Lord has said against you, O children of Israel,
against all the family which I took up out of the land of Egypt, saying,
3:1 Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel,
against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
3:2 내가 땅의 모든 족속 중에 너희만 알았나니 그러므로 내가 너희 모든 죄악을
너희에게 보응하리라 하셨나니
3:2 You only of all the families of the earth have I taken care of: for this reason
I will send punishment on you for all your sins.
3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will
punish you for all your iniquities.
3:3 두 사람이 의합지 못하고야 어찌 동행하겠으며
3:3 Is it possible for two to go walking together, if not by agreement?
3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
3:4 사자가 움킨 것이 없고야 어찌 수풀에서 부르짖겠으며 젊은 사자가 잡은 것이
없고야 어찌 굴에서 소리를 내겠느냐
3:4 Will a lion give his loud cry in the woodland when no food is there? will the voice
of the young lion be sounding from his hole if he has taken nothing?
3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? will a young lion
cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
3:5 창애를 땅에 베풀지 아니하고야 새가 어찌 거기 치이겠으며 아무 잡힌 것이
없고야 창애가 어찌 땅에서 뛰겠느냐
3:5 Is it possible for a bird to be taken in a net on the earth where no net has been
put for him? will the net come up from the earth if it has taken nothing at all?
3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no animal trap is for
him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
3:6 성읍에서 나팔을 불게 되고야 백성이 어찌 두려워하지 아니하겠으며 여호와의
시키심이 아니고야 재앙이 어찌 성읍에 임하겠느냐
3:6 If the horn is sounded in the town will the people not be full of fear? will evil
come on a town if the Lord has not done it?
3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall
there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it?
3:7 주 여호와께서는 자기의 비밀을 그 종 선지자들에게 보이지 아니하시고는
결코 행하심이 없으시리라
3:7 Certainly the Lord will do nothing without making clear his secret to his servants,
the prophets.
3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his
servants the prophets.
3:8 사자가 부르짖은즉 누가 두려워하지 아니하겠느냐 주 여호와께서 말씀하신즉
누가 예언하지 아니하겠느냐
3:8 The cry of the lion is sounding; who will not have fear? The Lord God has said the
word; is it possible for the prophet to keep quiet?
3:8 The lion has roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD has spoken, who
can but prophesy?
3:9 ○ 아스돗의 궁들과 애굽 땅 궁들에 광포하여 이르기를 너희는 사마리아 산들에
모여 그 성 중에서 얼마나 큰 요란함과 학대함이 있나 보라 하라
3:9 Give out the news in the great houses of Assyria and in the land of Egypt, and say,
Come together on the mountains of Samaria, and see what great outcries are there,
and what cruel acts are done in it.
3:9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt,
and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great
tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
3:10 자기 궁궐에서 포학과 겁탈을 쌓는 자들이 바른 일 행할 줄을 모르느니라 이는
여호와의 말씀이니라
3:10 For they have no knowledge of how to do what is right, says the Lord, who are storing
up violent acts and destruction in their great houses.
3:10 For they know not to do right, says the LORD, who store up violence
and robbery in their palaces.
3:11 그러므로 주 여호와께서 가라사대 이 땅 사면에 대적이 있어 네 힘을 쇠하게
하며 네 궁궐을 약탈하리라
3:11 For this reason, says the Lord, an attacker will come, shutting in the land on every
side; and your strength will come down and your great houses will be made waste.
3:11 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round
about the land; and he shall bring down your strength from you, and your palaces
shall be spoiled.
3:12 여호와께서 가라사대 목자가 사자 입에서 양의 두 다리나 귀 조각을 건져냄과
같이 사마리아에서 침상 모퉁이에나 걸상에 비단 방석에 앉은 이스라엘 자손이 건져냄을
입으리라
3:12 These are the words of the Lord: As the keeper of sheep takes out of the mouth of
the lion two legs or part of an ear; so will the children of Israel be made safe,
who are resting in Samaria on seats of honour or on the silk cushions of a bed.
3:12 Thus says the LORD; As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion
two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out
that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
3:13 ○ 주 여호와 만군의 하나님이 가라사대 너희는 듣고 야곱의 족속에게 증거하라
3:13 Give ear now, and give witness against the family of Jacob, says the Lord God, the
God of armies;
3:13 Hear all of you, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the Lord GOD,
the God of hosts,
3:14 내가 이스라엘의 모든 죄를 보응하는 날에 벧엘의 단들을 벌하여 그 단의
뿔들을 꺾어 땅에 떨어뜨리고
3:14 For in the day when I give Israel punishment for his sins, I will send punishment
on the altars of Beth-el, and the horns of the altar will be cut off and come down
to the earth.
3:14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon
him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall
be cut off, and fall to the ground.
3:15 겨울 궁과 여름 궁을 치리니 상아 궁들이 파멸되며 큰 궁들이 결단나리라
이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
3:15 And I will send destruction on the winter house with the summer house; the ivory
houses will be falling down and the great houses will come to an end, says the Lord.
3:15 And I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses
of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, says the LORD.
4:1 사마리아 산에 거하는 바산 암소들아 이 말을 들으라 너희는 가난한 자를
학대하며 궁핍한 자를 압제하며 가장에게 이르기를 술을 가져다가 우리로 마시게
하라 하는도다
4:1 Give ear to this word, you cows of Bashan, who are in the hill of Samaria, by whom
the poor are kept down, and those in need are crushed; who say to their lords, Get
out the wine and give us drink.
4:1 Hear this word, all of you cattle of Bashan, that are in the mountain
of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their
masters, Bring, and let us drink.
4:2 주 여호와께서 자기의 거룩함을 가리켜 맹세하시되 때가 너희에게 임할지라
사람이 갈고리로 너희를 끌어가며 낚시로 너희의 남은 자들을 그리하리라
4:2 The Lord God has taken an oath by his holy name, that the days are coming when they
will take you away with hooks, and the rest of you with fish-hooks.
4:2 The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come
upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
4:3 너희가 성 무너진 데로 말미암아 각기 앞으로 바로 나가서 하르몬에 던지우리라
이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:3 And you will go out through the broken places, every one going straight before her,
and you will be sent into Harmon, says the Lord.
4:3 And all of you shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which
is before her; and all of you shall cast them into the palace, says the LORD.
4:4 ○ 너희는 벧엘에 가서 범죄하며 길갈에 가서 죄를 더하며 아침마다 너희
희생을, 삼 일 마다 너희 십일조를 드리며
4:4 Come to Beth-el and do evil; to Gilgal, increasing the number of your sins; come
with your offerings every morning and your tenths every three days:
4:4 Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and
bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
4:5 누룩 넣은 것을 불살라 수은제로 드리며 낙헌제를 소리내어 광포하려무나
이스라엘 자손들아 이것이 너희의 기뻐하는 바니라 이는 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:5 Let that which is leavened be burned as a praise-offering, let the news of your
free offerings be given out publicly; for this is pleasing to you, O children of
Israel, says the Lord.
4:5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish
the free offerings: for this likes you, O all of you children of Israel, says
the Lord GOD.
4:6 ○ 또 내가 너희 모든 성읍에서 너희 이를 한가하게 하며 너희 각처에서 양식이
떨어지게 하였으나 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 아니하였느니라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:6 But in all your towns I have kept food from your teeth, and in all your places there
has been need of bread: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and
lack of bread in all your places: yet have all of you not returned unto me,
says the LORD.
4:7 또 추수하기 석 달 전에 내가 너희에게 비를 멈추어 어떤 성읍에는 내리고
어떤 성읍에는 내리지 않게 하였더니 땅 한 부분은 비를 얻고 한 부분은 비를 얻지
못하여 말랐으매
4:7 And I have kept back the rain from you, when it was still three months before the
grain-cutting: I sent rain on one town and kept it back from another: one part was
rained on, and the part where there was no rain became a waste.
4:7 And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three
months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it
not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon
it rained not withered.
4:8 두 세 성읍 사람이 어떤 성읍으로 비틀거리며 물을 마시러 가서 만족히 마시지
못하였으나 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 아니하였느니라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:8 So two or three towns went wandering to one town looking for water, and did not
get enough: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they
were not satisfied: yet have all of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.
4:9 내가 풍제와 깜부기 재앙으로 너희를 쳤으며 팟종이로 너희의 많은 동산과
포도원과 무화과나무와 감람나무를 다 먹게 하였으나 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 아니하였느니라
이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:9 I have sent destruction on your fields by burning and disease: the increase of your
gardens and your vine-gardens, your fig-trees and your olive-trees, has been food
for worms: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your
vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm
devoured them: yet have all of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.
4:10 내가 너희 중에 염병이 임하게 하기를 애굽에서 한 것처럼 하였으며 칼로
너희 청년들을 죽였으며 너희 말들을 노략하게 하며 너희 진의 악취로 코를 찌르게
하였으나 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 아니하였느니라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:10 I have sent disease among you, as it was in Egypt: I have put your young men to
the sword, and have taken away your horses; I have made the evil smell from your
tents come up to your noses: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your
young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and
I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have
all of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.
4:11 내가 너희 중의 성읍 무너뜨리기를 하나님 내가 소돔과 고모라를 무너뜨림 같이 하였으므로 너희가 불붙는 가운데서 빼낸 나무 조각 같이 되었으나 너희가
내게로 돌아오지 아니하였느니라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
4:11 And I have sent destruction among you, as when God sent destruction on Sodom and
Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick pulled out of the fire: and still you
have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
and all of you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have all
of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.
4:12 ○ 그러므로 이스라엘아 내가 이와 같이 네게 행하리라 내가 이것을 네게
행하리니 이스라엘아 네 하나님 만나기를 예비하라
4:12 So this is what I will do to you, O Israel: and because I will do this to you, be
ready for a meeting with your God, O Israel.
4:12 Therefore thus will I do unto you, O Israel: and because I will do this
unto you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel.
4:13 대저 산들을 지으며 바람을 창조하며 자기 뜻을 사람에게 보이며 아침을
어둡게 하며 땅의 높은 데를 밟는 자는 그 이름이 만군의 하나님 여호와니라
4:13 For see, he who gave form to the mountains and made the wind, giving knowledge of
his purpose to man, who makes the morning dark, and is walking on the high places
of the earth: the Lord, the God of armies, is his name.
4:13 For, lo, he that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares
unto man what is his thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon
the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
5:1 이스라엘 족속아 내가 너희에게 대하여 애가로 지은 이 말을 들으라
5:1 Give ear to this word, my song of sorrow over you, O children of Israel.
5:1 Hear all of you this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation,
O house of Israel.
5:2 처녀 이스라엘이 엎드러졌음이여 다시 일어나지 못하리로다 자기 땅에 던지움이여
일으킬 자 없으리로다
5:2 The virgin of Israel has been made low, never again to be lifted up: she is stretched
out by herself on her land; there is no one to put her on her feet again.
5:2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken
upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
5:3 주 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘 중에서 천 명이 나가던 성읍에는 백 명만
남고 백 명이 나가던 성읍에는 열 명만 남으리라 하셨느니라
5:3 For these are the words of the Lord God: The town which was able to send out a thousand,
will have only a hundred; and that which sent out a hundred, will have only ten,
in Israel.
5:3 For thus says the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall
leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to
the house of Israel.
5:4 ○ 여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 이르시기를 너희는 나를 찾으라 그리하면
살리라
5:4 For these are the words of the Lord to the children of Israel: Let your hearts be
turned to me, so that you may have life:
5:4 For thus says the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek all of you me,
and all of you shall live:
5:5 벧엘을 찾지 말며 길갈로 들어가지 말며 브엘세바로도 나아가지 말라 길갈은
정녕 사로잡히겠고 벧엘은 허무하게 될 것임이라 하셨나니
5:5 Do not be looking for help to Beth-el, and do not go to Gilgal, or make your way
to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal will certainly be taken prisoner, and Beth-el will come
to nothing.
5:5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba:
for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
5:6 너희는 여호와를 찾으라 그리하면 살리라 염려컨대 저가 불 같이 요셉의 집에
내리사 멸하시리니 벧엘에서 그 불들을 끌 자가 없을까 하노라
5:6 Go to the Lord for help so that you may have life; for fear that he may come like
fire bursting out in the family of Joseph, causing destruction, and there will be
no one to put it out in Beth-el.
5:6 Seek the LORD, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire
in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
5:7 공법을 인진으로 변하며 정의를 땅에 던지는 자들아
5:7 You who make the work of judging a bitter thing, crushing down righteousness to
the earth;
5:7 All of you who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness
in the earth,
5:8 묘성과 삼성을 만드시며 사망의 그늘로 아침이 되게 하시며 백주로 어두운
밤이 되게 하시며 바닷물을 불러 지면에 쏟으시는 자를 찾으라 그 이름이 여호와시니라
5:8 Go for help to him who makes Orion and the Pleiades, by whom the deep dark is turned
into morning, who makes the day black with night; whose voice goes out to the waters
of the sea, sending them out over the face of the earth: the Lord is his name;
5:8 Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of
death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the
waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is
his name:
5:9 저가 강한 자에게 홀연히 패망이 임하게 하신즉 그 패망이 산성에 미치느니라
5:9 Who sends sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the walled
town.
5:9 That strengthens the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled
shall come against the fortress.
5:10 무리가 성문에서 책망하는 자를 미워하며 정직히 말하는 자를 싫어하는도다
5:10 They have hate for him who makes protest against evil in the public place, and he
whose words are upright is disgusting to them.
5:10 They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they detest him that speaks
uprightly.
5:11 너희가 가난한 자를 밟고 저에게서 밀의 부당한 세를 취하였은즉 너희가
비록 다듬은 돌로 집을 건축하였으나 거기 거하지 못할 것이요 아름다운 포도원을
심었으나 그 포도주를 마시지 못하리라
5:11 So because the poor man is crushed under your feet, and you take taxes from him
of grain: you have made for yourselves houses of cut stone, but you will not take
your rest in them; the fair vine-gardens planted by your hands will not give you
wine.
5:11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and all of you
take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone,
but all of you shall not dwell in them; all of you have planted pleasant vineyards,
but all of you shall not drink wine of them.
5:12 너희의 허물이 많고 죄악이 중함을 내가 아노라 너희는 의인을 학대하며
뇌물을 받고 성문에서 궁핍한 자를 억울하게 하는 자로다
5:12 For I have seen how your evil-doing is increased and how strong are your sins, you
troublers of the upright, who take rewards and do wrong to the cause of the poor
in the public place.
5:12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict
the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their
right.
5:13 그러므로 이런 때에 지혜자가 잠잠하나니 이는 악한 때임이니라
5:13 So the wise will say nothing in that time; for it is an evil time.
5:13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an
evil time.
5:14 ○ 너희는 살기 위하여 선을 구하고 악을 구하지 말지어다 만군의 하나님
여호와께서 너희의 말과 같이 너희와 함께 하시리라
5:14 Go after good and not evil, so that life may be yours: and so the Lord, the God
of armies, will be with you, as you say.
5:14 Seek good, and not evil, that all of you may live: and so the LORD,
the God of hosts, shall be with you, as all of you have spoken.
5:15 너희는 악을 미워하고 선을 사랑하며 성문에서 공의를 세울지어다 만군의
하나님 여호와께서 혹시 요셉의 남은 자를 긍휼히 여기시리라
5:15 Be haters of evil and lovers of good, and let right be done in the public place:
it may be that the Lord, the God of armies, will have mercy on the rest of Joseph.
5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
5:16 ○ 그러므로 주 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 사람이 모든 광장에서
울겠고 모든 거리에서 오호라 오호라 하겠으며 농부를 불러다가 애곡하게 하며 울음군을
불러다가 울게 할 것이며
5:16 So these are the words of the Lord, the God of armies, the Lord: There will be weeping
in all the open spaces; and in all the streets they will say, Sorrow! sorrow! and
they will get in the farmer to the weeping, and the makers of sad songs to give
cries of grief.
5:16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, says thus; Wailing shall
be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they
shall call the farmer to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to
wailing.
5:17 모든 포도원에서도 울리니 이는 내가 너희 가운데로 지나갈 것임이니라 이는
여호와의 말씀이니라
5:17 In all the vine-gardens there will be cries of grief: for I will go through among
you, says the Lord.
5:17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through you,
says the LORD.
5:18 ○ 화 있을진저 여호와의 날을 사모하는 자여 너희가 어찌하여 여호와의
날을 사모하느뇨 그 날은 어두움이요 빛이 아니라
5:18 Sorrow to you who are looking for the day of the Lord! what is the day of the Lord
to you? it is dark and not light.
5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for
you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
5:19 마치 사람이 사자를 피하다가 곰을 만나거나 혹 집에 들어가서 손을 벽에
대었다가 뱀에게 물림 같도다
5:19 As if a man, running away from a lion, came face to face with a bear; or went into
the house and put his hand on the wall and got a bite from a snake.
5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the
house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
5:20 여호와의 날이 어찌 어두워서 빛이 없음이 아니며 캄캄하여 빛남이 없음이
아니냐
5:20 Will not the day of the Lord be dark and not light? even very dark, with no light
shining in it?
5:20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very
dark, and no brightness in it?
5:21 ○ 내가 너희 절기를 미워하여 멸시하며 너희 성회들을 기뻐하지 아니하나니
5:21 Your feasts are disgusting to me, I will have nothing to do with them; I will take
no delight in your holy meetings.
5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn
assemblies.
5:22 너희가 내게 번제나 소제를 드릴지라도 내가 받지 아니할 것이요 너희 살진
희생의 화목제도 내가 돌아보지 아니하리라
5:22 Even if you give me your burned offerings and your meal offerings, I will not take
pleasure in them: I will have nothing to do with the peace-offerings of your fat
beasts.
5:22 Though all of you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings,
I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat
beasts.
5:23 네 노래 소리를 내 앞에서 그칠지어다 네 비파 소리도 내가 듣지 아니하리라
5:23 Take away from me the noise of your songs; my ears are shut to the melody of your
instruments.
5:23 Take you away from me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the
melody of your viols.
5:24 오직 공법을 물 같이 정의를 하수 같이 흘릴지로다
5:24 But let the right go rolling on like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing
stream.
5:24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
5:25 이스라엘 족속아 너희가 사십 년 동안 광야에서 희생과 소제물을 내게 드렸느냐
5:25 Did you come to me with offerings of beasts and meal offerings in the waste land
for forty years, O Israel?
5:25 Have all of you offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness
forty years, O house of Israel?
5:26 너희가 너희 왕 식굿과 너희 우상 기윤 곧 너희가 너희를 위하여 만들어서
신으로 삼은 별 형상을 지고 가리라
5:26 Truly, you will take up Saccuth your king and Kaiwan your images, the star of your
god, which you made for yourselves.
5:26 But all of you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your
images, the star of your god, which all of you made to yourselves.
5:27 내가 너희를 다메섹 밖으로 사로잡혀 가게 하리라 이는 만군의 하나님이라
일컫는 여호와의 말씀이니라
5:27 And I will send you away as prisoners farther than Damascus, says the Lord, whose
name is the God of armies.
5:27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says
the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
6:1 화 있을진저 시온에서 안일한 자와 사마리아 산에서 마음이 든든한 자 곧
열국 중 우승하여 유명하므로 이스라엘 족속이 따르는 자들이여
6:1 Sorrow to those who are resting in comfort in Zion, and to those who have no fear
of danger in the mountain of Samaria, the noted men of the chief of the nations,
to whom the people of Israel come!
6:1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria,
which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
6:2 너희는 갈레에 건너가고 거기서 대 하맛으로 가고 또 블레셋 사람의 가드로
내려가 보라 그 곳들이 이 나라들보다 나으냐 그 토지가 너희 토지보다 넓으냐
6:2 Go on to Calneh and see; and from there go to Hamath the great; then go down to
Gath of the Philistines: are you better than these kingdoms? or is your land wider
than theirs?
6:2 Pass all of you unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go all of you to
Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than
these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
6:3 너희는 흉한 날이 멀다 하여 강포한 자리로 가까와지게 하고
6:3 You who put far away the evil day, causing the rule of the violent to come near;
6:3 All of you that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence
to come near;
6:4 상아 상에 누우며 침상에서 기지개 켜며 양 떼에서 어린 양과 우리에서 송아지를
취하여 먹고
6:4 Who are resting on beds of ivory, stretched out on soft seats, feasting on lambs
from the flock and young oxen from the cattle-house;
6:4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches,
and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
6:5 비파에 맞추어 헛된 노래를 지절거리며 다윗처럼 자기를 위하여 악기를 제조하며
6:5 Making foolish songs to the sound of corded instruments, and designing for themselves
instruments of music, like David;
6:5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments
of music, like David;
6:6 대접으로 포도주를 마시며 귀한 기름을 몸에 바르면서 요셉의 환난을 인하여는
근심치 아니하는 자로다
6:6 Drinking wine in basins, rubbing themselves with the best oils; but they have no
grief for the destruction of Joseph.
6:6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments:
but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
6:7 그러므로 저희가 이제는 사로잡히는 자 중에 앞서 사로잡히리니 기지개 켜는
자의 떠드는 소리가 그치리라
6:7 So now they will go away prisoners with the first of those who are made prisoners,
and the loud cry of those who were stretched out will come to an end.
6:7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and
the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
6:8 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 가라사대 주 여호와가 자기를 가리켜 맹세하였노라
내가 야곱의 영광을 싫어하며 그 궁궐들을 미워하므로 이 성읍과 거기 가득한 것을
대적에게 붙이리라 하셨느니라
6:8 The Lord God has taken an oath by himself, says the Lord, the God of armies: the
pride of Jacob is disgusting to me, and I have hate for his great houses: so I will
give up the town with everything in it.
6:8 The Lord GOD has sworn by himself, says the LORD the God of hosts, I
detest the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver
up the city with all that is therein.
6:9 한 집에 열 사람이 남는다 하여도 다 죽을 것이라
6:9 Then it will come about that if there are still ten men in a house, death will overtake
them.
6:9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that
they shall die.
6:10 죽은 사람의 친척 곧 그 시체를 불사를 자가 그 뼈를 집 밖으로 가져갈 때에
그 집 내실에 있는 자에게 묻기를 아직 너와 함께 한 자가 있느냐 하여 대답하기를
아주 없다 하면 저가 또 말하기를 잠잠하라 우리가 여호와의 이름을 일컫지 못할
것이라 하리라
6:10 And when a man's relation, even the one who is responsible for burning his body,
lifting him up to take his bones out of the house, says to him who is in the inmost
part of the house, Is there still anyone with you? and he says, No; then he will
say, Keep quiet, for the name of the Lord may not be named.
6:10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burns him, to bring
out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides
of the house, Is there yet any with you? and he shall say, No. Then shall he
say, Hold your tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
6:11 보라 여호와께서 명하시므로 큰 집이 침을 받아 갈라지며 작은 집이 침을
받아 터지리라
6:11 For see, at the order of the Lord the great house will be full of cracks and the
little house will be broken.
6:11 For, behold, the LORD commands, and he will strike the great house with
breaches, and the little house with clefts.
6:12 ○ 말들이 어찌 바위 위에서 달리겠으며 소가 어찌 거기 밭 갈겠느냐 그런데
너희는 공법을 쓸개로 변하며 정의의 열매를 인진으로 변하여
6:12 Is it possible for horses to go running on the rock? may the sea be ploughed with
oxen? for the right to be turned by you into poison, and the fruit of righteousness
into a bitter plant?
6:12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for all
of you have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
6:13 허무한 것을 기뻐하며 이르기를 우리의 뿔은 우리 힘으로 취하지 아니하였느냐
하는 자로다
6:13 You whose joy is in a thing of no value, who say, Have we not taken for ourselves
horns by the strength which is ours?
6:13 All of you which rejoice in a thing of nothing, which say, Have we not
taken to us horns by our own strength?
6:14 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘 족속아 내가 한 나라를 일으켜
너희를 치리니 저희가 하맛 어귀에서부터 아라바 시내까지 너희를 학대하리라 하셨느니라
6:14 For see, I will send against you a nation, O Israel, says the Lord, the God of armies,
ruling you cruelly from the way into Hamath as far as the stream of the Arabah.
6:14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel,
says the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering
in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
7:1 주 여호와께서 내게 보이신 것이 이러하니라 왕이 풀을 벤 후 풀이 다시 움돋기
시작할 때에 주께서 황충을 지으시매
7:1 This is what the Lord God let me see: and I saw that, when the growth of the late
grass was starting, he made locusts; it was the late growth after the king's cutting
was done.
7:1 Thus has the Lord GOD showed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers
in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the
latter growth after the king's mowings.
7:2 황충이 땅의 풀을 다 먹은지라 내가 가로되 주 여호와여 청컨대 사하소서
야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게 서리이까 하매
7:2 And it came about that after they had taken all the grass of the land, I said, O
Lord God, have mercy: how will Jacob be able to keep his place? for he is small.
7:2 And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass
of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I plead to you: by whom shall
Jacob arise? for he is small.
7:3 여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이켜 가라사대 이것이 이루지 아니하리라
하시니라
7:3 The Lord, changing his purpose about this, said, It will not be.
7:3 The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, says the LORD.
7:4 ○ 주 여호와께서 또 내게 보이신 것이 이러하니라 주 여호와께서 명하여
불로 징벌하게 하시니 불이 큰 바다를 삼키고 육지까지 먹으려 하는지라
7:4 This is what the Lord let me see: and I saw that the Lord God sent for a great fire
to be the instrument of his punishment; and, after burning up the great deep, it
was about to put an end to the Lord's heritage.
7:4 Thus has the Lord GOD showed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called
to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
7:5 이에 내가 가로되 주 여호와여 청컨대 그치소서 야곱이 미약하오니 어떻게
서리이까 하매
7:5 Then said I, O Lord God, let there be an end: how will Jacob be able to keep his
place? for he is small.
7:5 Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I plead to you: by whom shall Jacob arise?
for he is small.
7:6 주 여호와께서 이에 대하여 뜻을 돌이켜 가라사대 이것도 이루지 아니하리라
하시니라
7:6 The Lord, changing his purpose about this, said, And this will not be.
7:6 The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, says the Lord GOD.
7:7 ○ 또 내게 보이신 것이 이러하니라 다림줄을 띄우고 쌓은 담 곁에 주께서
손에 다림줄을 잡고 서셨더니
7:7 This is what he let me see: and I saw the Lord stationed by a wall made straight
by a weighted line, and he had a weighted line in his hand.
7:7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a
plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.
7:8 내게 이르시되 아모스야 네가 무엇을 보느냐 내가 대답하되 다림줄이니이다
주께서 가라사대 내가 다림줄을 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데 베풀고 다시는 용서치 아니하리니
7:8 And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A weighted line. Then
the Lord said, See, I will let down a weighted line among my people Israel; never
again will my eyes be shut to their sin:
7:8 And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what see you? And I said, A plumb-line.
Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people
Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
7:9 이삭의 산당들이 황폐되며 이스라엘의 성소들이 훼파될 것이라 내가 일어나
칼로 여로보암의 집을 치리라 하시니라
7:9 And the high places of Isaac will be unpeopled, and the holy places of Israel will
be made waste; and I will come up against the family of Jeroboam with the sword.
7:9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of
Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with
the sword.
7:10 ○ 때에 벧엘의 제사장 아마샤가 이스라엘 왕 여로보암에게 기별하여 가로되
이스라엘 족속 중에 아모스가 왕을 모반하나니 그 모든 말을 이 땅이 견딜 수 없나이다
7:10 Then Amaziah, the priest of Beth-el, sent to Jeroboam, king of Israel, saying, Amos
has made designs against you among the people of Israel: the land is troubled by
his words.
7:10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,
Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel: the land
is not able to bear all his words.
7:11 아모스가 말하기를 여로보암은 칼에 죽겠고 이스라엘은 정녕 사로잡혀 그
땅에서 떠나겠다 하나이다 하고
7:11 For Amos has said, Jeroboam will be put to the sword, and Israel will certainly
be taken away as a prisoner out of his land.
7:11 For thus Amos says, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall
surely be led away captive out of their own land.
7:12 아마샤가 또 아모스에게 이르되 선견자야 너는 유다 땅으로 도망하여 가서
거기서나 떡을 먹으며 거기서나 예언하고
7:12 And Amaziah said to Amos, O seer, go in flight into the land of Judah, and there
get your living by working as a prophet:
7:12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O you seer, go, flee you away into the
land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
7:13 다시는 벧엘에서 예언하지 말라 이는 왕의 성소요 왕의 궁임이니라
7:13 But be a prophet no longer at Beth-el: for it is the holy place of the king, and
the king's house.
7:13 But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel,
and it is the king's court.
7:14 아모스가 아마샤에게 대답하여 가로되 나는 선지자가 아니며 선지자의 아들도
아니요 나는 목자요 뽕나무를 배양하는 자로서
7:14 Then Amos in answer said to Amaziah, I am no prophet, or one of the sons of the
prophets; I am a herdman and one who takes care of sycamore-trees:
7:14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was
I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
7:15 양 떼를 따를 때에 여호와께서 나를 데려다가 내게 이르시기를 가서 내 백성
이스라엘에게 예언하라 하셨나니
7:15 And the Lord took me from the flock, and the Lord said to me, Go, be a prophet to
my people Israel.
7:15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto
me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
7:16 이제 너는 여호와의 말씀을 들을지니라 네가 이르기를 이스라엘에 대하여
예언하지 말며 이삭의 집을 향하여 경계하지 말라 하므로
7:16 Now then, give ear to the word of the Lord: You say, Be no prophet to Israel, and
say not a word against the people of Isaac.
7:16 Now therefore hear you the word of the LORD: You says, Prophesy not
against Israel, and drop not your word against the house of Isaac.
7:17 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 네 아내는 성읍 중에서 창기가 될 것이요 네 자녀들은
칼에 엎드러지며 네 땅은 줄 띄워 나누일 것이며 너는 더러운 땅에서 죽을 것이요
이스라엘은 정녕 사로잡혀 그 본토에서 떠나리라 하셨느니라
7:17 So this is what the Lord has said: Your wife will be a loose woman in the town,
and your sons and your daughters will be put to the sword, and your land will be
cut up into parts by a line; and you yourself will come to your end in an unclean
land, and Israel will certainly be taken away a prisoner out of his land.
7:17 Therefore thus says the LORD; Your wife shall be an harlot in the city,
and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall
be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely
go into captivity out of his land.
8:1 주 여호와께서 또 내게 여름 실과 한 광주리를 보이시며
8:1 This is what the Lord God let me see: and I saw a basket of summer fruit.
8:1 Thus has the Lord GOD showed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.
8:2 가라사대 아모스야 네가 무엇을 보느냐 내가 가로되 여름 실과 한 광주리니이다
하매 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 내 백성 이스라엘의 끝이 이르렀은즉 내가 다시는
저를 용서치 아니하리니
8:2 And he said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then the
Lord said to me, The end has come to my people Israel; never again will my eyes
be shut to their sin.
8:2 And he said, Amos, what see you? And I said, A basket of summer fruit.
Then said the LORD unto me, The end has come upon my people of Israel; I will
not again pass by them any more.
8:3 그 날에 궁전의 노래가 애곡으로 변할 것이며 시체가 많아서 사람이 잠잠히
처처에 내어버리리라 이는 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
8:3 And the songs of the king's house will be cries of pain in that day, says the Lord
God: great will be the number of the dead bodies, and everywhere they will put them
out without a word.
8:3 And the songs of the temple shall be wailings in that day, says the Lord
GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth
with silence.
8:4 ○ 궁핍한 자를 삼키며 땅의 가난한 자를 망케 하려는 자들아 이 말을 들으라
8:4 Give ear to this, you who are crushing the poor, and whose purpose is to put an
end to those who are in need in the land,
8:4 Hear this, O all of you that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor
of the land to fail,
8:5 너희가 이르기를 월삭이 언제나 지나서 우리로 곡식을 팔게 하며 안식일이
언제나 지나서 우리로 밀을 내게 할꼬 에바를 작게 하여 세겔을 크게 하며 거짓 저울로
속이며
8:5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, so that we may do trade in grain? and the
Sabbath, so that we may put out in the market the produce of our fields? making
the measure small and the price great, and trading falsely with scales of deceit;
8:5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the
sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel
great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
8:6 은으로 가난한 자를 사며 신 한 켤레로 궁핍한 자를 사며 잿밀을 팔자 하는도다
8:6 Getting the poor for silver, and him who is in need for the price of two shoes,
and taking a price for the waste parts of the grain.
8:6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes;
yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
8:7 여호와께서 야곱의 영광을 가리켜 맹세하시되 내가 저희의 모든 소위를 영영
잊지 아니하리라 하셨나니
8:7 The Lord has taken an oath by the pride of Jacob, Truly I will ever keep in mind
all their works.
8:7 The LORD has sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget
any of their works.
8:8 이로 인하여 땅이 떨지 않겠으며 그 가운데 모든 거민이 애통하지 않겠느냐
온 땅이 하수의 넘침 같이 솟아오르며 애굽 강 같이 뛰놀다가 낮아지리라
8:8 Will not the land be shaking with fear because of this, and everyone in it have
sorrow? and all of it will be overflowing like the River; and it will be troubled
and go down again like the River of Egypt.
8:8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwells
therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and
drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
8:9 주 여호와께서 가라사대 그 날에 내가 해로 대낮에 지게 하여 백주에 땅을 캄캄케 하며
8:9 And it will come about in that day, says the Lord God, that I will make the sun
go down in the middle of the day, and I will make the earth dark in daylight:
8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord GOD, that I will
cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
8:10 너희 절기를 애통으로, 너희 모든 노래를 애곡으로 변하며 모든 사람으로
굵은 베로 허리를 동이게 하며 모든 머리를 대머리 되게 하며 독자의 죽음을 인하여
애통하듯 하게 하며 그 결국으로 곤고한 날과 같게 하리라
8:10 Your feasts will be turned into sorrow and all your melody into songs of grief;
everyone will be clothed with haircloth, and the hair of every head will be cut;
I will make the weeping like that for an only son, and the end of it like a bitter
day.
8:10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation;
and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head;
and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
8:11 ○ 주 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 날이 이를지라 내가 기근을 땅에 보내리니
양식이 없어 주림이 아니며 물이 없어 갈함이 아니요 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 못한
기갈이라
8:11 See, the days are coming, says the Lord God, when I will send times of great need
on the land, not need of food or desire for water, but for hearing the words of
the Lord.
8:11 Behold, the days come, says the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine
in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the
words of the LORD:
8:12 사람이 이 바다에서 저 바다까지, 북에서 동까지 비틀거리며 여호와의 말씀을
구하려고 달려 왕래하되 얻지 못하리니
8:12 And they will go wandering from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east,
running here and there in search of the word of the Lord, and they will not get
it.
8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the
east, they shall run back and forth to seek the word of the LORD, and shall
not find it.
8:13 그 날에 아름다운 처녀와 젊은 남자가 다 갈하여 피곤하리라
8:13 In that day the fair virgins and the young men will be feeble from need of water.
8:13 In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
8:14 무릇 사마리아의 죄된 우상을 가리켜 맹세하여 이르기를 단아 네 신의 생존을
가리켜 맹세하노라 하거나 브엘세바의 위하는 것의 생존을 가리켜 맹세하노라 하는
사람은 엎드러지고 다시 일어나지 못하리라
8:14 Those who make their oaths by the sin of Samaria and say, By the life of your God,
O Dan; and, By the living way of Beer-sheba; even they will go down, never again
to be lifted up.
8:14 They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Your god, O Dan, lives;
and, The manner of Beersheba lives; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
9:1 내가 보니 주께서 단 곁에 서서 이르시되 기둥 머리를 쳐서 문지방이 움직이게
하며 그것으로 부숴져서 무리의 머리에 떨어지게 하라 내가 그 남은 자를 칼로 살륙하리니
그 중에서 하나도 도망하지 못하며 그 중에서 하나도 피하지 못하리라
9:1 I saw the Lord stationed by the side of the altar, giving blows to the tops of the
pillars so that the doorsteps were shaking: and he said, I will let all of them
be broken with earth-shocks; I will put the last of them to the sword: if any one
of them goes in flight he will not get away, not one of them will be safe.
9:1 I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Strike the lintel
of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them;
and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that flees of them shall
not flee away, and he that escapes of them shall not be delivered.
9:2 저희가 파고 음부로 들어갈지라도 내 손이 거기서 취하여 낼 것이요 하늘로
올라갈지라도 내가 거기서 취하여 내리울 것이며
9:2 Even if they go deep into the underworld, my hand will take them up from there;
if they go up to heaven, I will get them down:
9:2 Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they
climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
9:3 갈멜 산 꼭대기에 숨을지라도 내가 거기서 찾아낼 것이요 내 눈을 피하여 바다
밑에 숨을지라도 내가 거기서 뱀을 명하여 물게 할 것이요
9:3 Though they take cover on the top of Carmel, I will go in search of them and get
them out; though they keep themselves from my eyes in the bed of the sea, I will
give orders to the great snake there and he will give them a bite:
9:3 And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and
take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of
the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
9:4 그 원수 앞에 사로잡혀 갈지라도 내가 거기서 칼을 명하여 살륙하게 할 것이라
내가 저희에게 주목하여 화를 내리고 복을 내리지 아니하리라 하시니라
9:4 And though they are taken away as prisoners by their attackers, even there will
I give orders to the sword to put them to death: my eyes will be fixed on them for
evil and not for good.
9:4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I
command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them
for evil, and not for good.
9:5 ○ 주 만군의 여호와는 땅을 만져 녹게 하사 무릇 거기 거한 자로 애통하게
하시며 그 온 땅으로 하수의 넘침 같이 솟아오르며 애굽 강 같이 낮아지게 하시는 자요
9:5 For the Lord, the God of armies, is he at whose touch the land is turned to water,
and everyone in it will be given up to sorrow; all of it will be overflowing like
the River, and will go down again like the River of Egypt;
9:5 And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that touches the land, and it shall melt,
and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood;
and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
9:6 그 전을 하늘에 세우시며 그 궁창의 기초를 땅에 두시며 바닷 물을 불러 지면에
쏟으시는 자니 그 이름은 여호와시니라
9:6 It is he who makes his rooms in the heaven, basing his arch on the earth; whose
voice goes out to the waters of the sea, and sends them flowing over the face of
the earth; the Lord is his name.
9:6 It is he that builds his stories in the heaven, and has founded his troop
in the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon
the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
9:7 ○ 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘 자손들아 너희는 내게 구스 족속 같지 아니하냐
내가 이스라엘을 애굽 땅에서, 블레셋 사람을 갑돌에서, 아람 사람을 길에서 올라오게 하지 아니하였느냐
9:7 Are you not as the children of the Ethiopians to me, O children of Israel? says
the Lord. Have I not taken Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines
from Caphtor, and the Aramaeans from Kir?
9:7 Are all of you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children
of Israel? says the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?
and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
9:8 보라 주 여호와 내가 범죄한 나라에 주목하여 지면에서 멸하리라 그러나 야곱의
집은 온전히 멸하지는 아니하리라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
9:8 See, the eyes of the Lord are on the evil kingdom, and I will put an end to it in
all the earth; but I will not send complete destruction on Jacob, says the Lord.
9:8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will
destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy
the house of Jacob, says the LORD.
9:9 내가 명령하여 이스라엘 족속을 만국 중에 체질하기를 곡식을 체질함 같이
하려니와 그 한 알갱이도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하리라
9:9 For see, I will give orders, and I will have Israel moved about among all the nations,
as grain is moved about by the shaking of the tray, but not the smallest seed will
be dropped on the earth.
9:9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all
nations, like corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall
upon the earth.
9:10 내 백성 중에서 말하기를 화가 우리에게 미치지 아니하며 임하지 아니하리라
하는 모든 죄인은 칼에 죽으리라
9:10 All those sinners among my people will be put to the sword who say, Evil will not
overtake us or come face to face with us.
9:10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The
evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
9:11 ○ 그 날에 내가 다윗의 무너진 천막을 일으키고 그 틈을 막으며 그 퇴락한 것을 일으켜서 옛적과 같이 세우고
9:11 In that day I will put up the tent of David which has come down, and make good its
broken places; and I will put up again his damaged walls, building it up as in the
past;
9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen,
and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will
build it as in the days of old:
9:12 저희로 에돔의 남은 자와 내 이름으로 일컫는 만국을 기업으로 얻게 하리라
이는 이를 행하시는 여호와의 말씀이니라
9:12 So that the rest of Edom may be their heritage, and all the nations who have been
named by my name, says the Lord, who is doing this.
9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which
are called by my name, says the LORD that does this.
9:13 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 날이 이를지라 그 때에 밭 가는 자가 곡식 베는
자의 뒤를 이으며 포도를 밟는 자가 씨 뿌리는 자의 뒤를 이으며 산들은 단 포도주를
흘리며 작은 산들은 녹으리라
9:13 See, the days will come, says the Lord, when the ploughman will overtake him who
is cutting the grain, and the crusher of the grapes him who is planting seed; and
sweet wine will be dropping from the mountains, and the hills will be turned into
streams of wine.
9:13 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake
the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains
shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
9:14 내가 내 백성 이스라엘의 사로잡힌 것을 돌이키리니 저희가 황무한 성읍을
건축하고 거하며 포도원들을 심고 그 포도주를 마시며 과원들을 만들고 그 과실을 먹으리라
9:14 And I will let the fate of my people Israel be changed, and they will be building
up again the waste towns and living in them; they will again be planting vine-gardens
and taking the wine for their drink; and they will make gardens and get the fruit
of them.
9:14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they
shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards,
and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit
of them.
9:15 내가 저희를 그 본토에 심으리니 저희가 나의 준 땅에서 다시 뽑히지 아니하리라
이는 네 하나님 여호와의 말씀이니라
9:15 And I will have them planted in their land, and never again will they be uprooted
from their land which I have given them, says the Lord your God.
9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled
up out of their land which I have given them, says the LORD your God.
