 창세기 41장

41:1 만 이 년 후에 바로가 꿈을 꾼즉 자기가 하수가에 섰는데
41:1 Now after two years had gone by, Pharaoh had a dream; and in his dream he was by the side of the Nile;
41:1 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

41:2 보니 아름답고 살진 일곱 암소가 하수에서 올라와 갈밭에서 뜯어먹고
41:2 And out of the Nile came seven cows, good-looking and fat, and their food was the river-grass.
41:2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured cattle and well fed; and they fed in a meadow.

41:3 그 뒤에 또 흉악하고 파리한 다른 일곱 암소가 하수에서 올라와 그 소와 함께 하수가에 섰더니
41:3 And after them seven other cows came out of the Nile, poor-looking and thin; and they were by the side of the other cows.
41:3 And, behold, seven other cattle came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and thin; and stood by the other cattle upon the brink of the river.

41:4 그 흉악하고 파리한 소가 그 아름답고 살진 일곱 소를 먹은지라 바로가 곧 깨었다가
41:4 And the seven thin cows made a meal of the seven fat cows. Then Pharaoh came out of his sleep.
41:4 And the ill favoured and thin cattle did eat up the seven well favoured and fat cattle. So Pharaoh awoke.

41:5 다시 잠이 들어 꿈을 꾸니 한 줄기에 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭이 나오고
41:5 But he went to sleep again and had a second dream, in which he saw seven heads of grain, full and good, all on one stem.
41:5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

41:6 그 후에 또 세약하고 동풍에 마른 일곱 이삭이 나오더니
41:6 And after them came up seven other heads, thin and wasted by the east wind.
41:6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

41:7 그 세약한 일곱 이삭이 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭을 삼킨지라 바로가 깬즉 꿈이라
41:7 And the seven thin heads made a meal of the good heads. And when Pharaoh was awake he saw it was a dream.
41:7 And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

41:8 아침에 그 마음이 번민하여 보내어 애굽의 술객과 박사를 모두 불러 그들에게 그 꿈을 고하였으나 그것을 바로에게 해석하는 자가 없었더라
41:8 And in the morning his spirit was troubled; and he sent for all the wise men of Egypt and all the holy men, and put his dream before them, but no one was able to give him the sense of it.
41:8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

41:9 술 맡은 관원장이 바로에게 고하여 가로되 내가 오늘날 나의 허물을 추억하나이다
41:9 Then the chief wine-servant said to Pharaoh, The memory of my sin comes back to me now;
41:9 Then spoke the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

41:10 바로께서 종들에게 노하사 나와 떡 굽는 관원장을 시위대장의 집에 가두셨을 때에
41:10 Pharaoh had been angry with his servants, and had put me in prison in the house of the captain of the army, together with the chief bread-maker;
41:10 Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:

41:11 나와 그가 하룻밤에 꿈을 꾼즉 각기 징조가 있는 꿈이라
41:11 And we had a dream on the same night, the two of us, and the dreams had a special sense.
41:11 And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

41:12 그 곳에 시위대장의 종된 히브리 소년이 우리와 함께 있기로 우리가 그에게 고하매 그가 우리의 꿈을 풀되 그 꿈대로 각인에게 해석하더니
41:12 And there was with us a young Hebrew, the captain's servant, and when we put our dreams before him, he gave us the sense of them.
41:12 And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

41:13 그 해석한 대로 되어 나는 복직하고 그는 매여 달렸나이다
41:13 And it came about as he said: I was put back in my place, and the bread-maker was put to death by hanging.
41:13 And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

41:14 ○ 이에 바로가 보내어 요셉을 부르매 그들이 급히 그를 옥에서 낸지라 요셉이 곧 수염을 깎고 그 옷을 갈아 입고 바로에게 들어오니
41:14 Then Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and they took him quickly out of prison; and when his hair had been cut and his dress changed, he came before Pharaoh.
41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

41:15 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 내가 한 꿈을 꾸었으나 그것을 해석하는 자가 없더니 들은즉 너는 꿈을 들으면 능히 푼다더라
41:15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have had a dream, and no one is able to give me the sense of it; now it has come to my ears that you are able to give the sense of a dream when it is put before you.
41:15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of you, that you can understand a dream to interpret it.

41:16 요셉이 바로에게 대답하여 가로되 이는 내게 있는 것이 아니라 하나님이 바로에게 평안한 대답을 하시리이다
41:16 Then Joseph said, Without God there will be no answer of peace for Pharaoh.
41:16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

41:17 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 내가 꿈에 하수가에 서서
41:17 Then Pharaoh said, In my dream I was by the side of the Nile:
41:17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

41:18 보니 살지고 아름다운 일곱 암소가 하수가에 올라와 갈밭에서 뜯어먹고
41:18 And out of the Nile came seven cows, fat and good-looking, and their food was the river-grass;
41:18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven cattle, well fed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:

41:19 그 뒤에 또 약하고 심히 흉악하고 파리한 일곱 암소가 올라오니 그같이 흉악한 것들은 애굽 땅에서 내가 아직 보지 못한 것이라
41:19 Then after them came seven other cows, very thin and poor-looking, worse than any I ever saw in the land of Egypt;
41:19 And, behold, seven other cattle came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and thin, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

41:20 그 파리하고 흉악한 소가 처음의 일곱 살진 소를 먹었으며
41:20 And the thin cows made a meal of the seven fat cows who came up first;
41:20 And the lean and the ill favoured cattle did eat up the first seven fat cattle:

41:21 먹었으나 먹은 듯하지 아니하여 여전히 흉악하더라 내가 곧 깨었다가
41:21 And even with the fat cows inside them they seemed as bad as before. And so I came out of my sleep.
41:21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

41:22 다시 꿈에 보니 한 줄기에 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭이 나오고
41:22 And again in a dream I saw seven heads of grain, full and good, coming up on one stem:
41:22 And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

41:23 그 후에 또 세약하고 동풍에 마른 일곱 이삭이 나더니
41:23 And then I saw seven other heads, dry, thin, and wasted by the east wind, coming up after them:
41:23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

41:24 그 세약한 이삭이 좋은 일곱 이삭을 삼키더라 내가 그 꿈을 술객에게 말하였으나 그것을 내게 보이는 자가 없느니라
41:24 And the seven thin heads made a meal of the seven good heads; and I put this dream before the wise men, but not one of them was able to give me the sense of it.
41:24 And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

41:25 ○ 요셉이 바로에게 고하되 바로의 꿈은 하나이라 하나님이 그 하실 일을 바로에게 보이심이니이다
41:25 Then Joseph said, These two dreams have the same sense: God has made clear to Pharaoh what he is about to do.
41:25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God has showed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

41:26 일곱 좋은 암소는 일곱 해요 일곱 좋은 이삭도 일곱 해니 그 꿈은 하나이라
41:26 The seven fat cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years: the two have the same sense.
41:26 The seven good cattle are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

41:27 그 후에 올라온 파리하고 흉악한 일곱 소는 칠 년이요 동풍에 말라 속이 빈 일곱 이삭도 일곱 해 흉년이니
41:27 The seven thin and poor-looking cows who came up after them are seven years; and the seven heads of grain, dry and wasted by the east wind, are seven years when there will be no food.
41:27 And the seven thin and ill favoured cattle that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

41:28 내가 바로에게 고하기를 하나님이 그 하실 일로 바로에게 보이신다 함이 이것이라
41:28 As I said to Pharaoh before, God has made clear to him what he is about to do.
41:28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he shows unto Pharaoh.

41:29 온 애굽 땅에 일곱 해 큰 풍년이 있겠고
41:29 Seven years are coming in which there will be great wealth of grain in Egypt;
41:29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

41:30 후에 일곱 해 흉년이 들므로 애굽 땅에 있던 풍년을 다 잊어버리게 되고 이 땅이 기근으로 멸망되리니
41:30 And after that will come seven years when there will not be enough food; and the memory of the good years will go from men's minds; and the land will be made waste by the bad years;
41:30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

41:31 후에 든 그 흉년이 너무 심하므로 이전 풍년을 이 땅에서 기억하지 못하게 되리이다
41:31 And men will have no memory of the good time because of the need which will come after, for it will be very bitter.
41:31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

41:32 바로께서 꿈을 두 번 겹쳐 꾸신 것은 하나님이 이 일을 정하셨음이라 속히 행하시리니
41:32 And this dream came to Pharaoh twice, because this thing is certain, and God will quickly make it come about.
41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

41:33 이제 바로께서는 명철하고 지혜 있는 사람을 택하여 애굽 땅을 치리하게 하시고
41:33 And now let Pharaoh make search for a man of wisdom and good sense, and put him in authority over the land of Egypt.
41:33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

41:34 바로께서는 또 이같이 행하사 국중에 여러 관리를 두어 그 일곱 해 풍년에 애굽 땅의 오분의 일을 거두되
41:34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him put overseers over the land of Egypt to put in store a fifth part of the produce of the land in the good years.
41:34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven abundant years.

41:35 그 관리로 장차 올 풍년의 모든 곡물을 거두고 그 곡물을 바로의 손에 돌려 양식을 위하여 각 성에 적치하게 하소서
41:35 And let them get together all the food in those good years and make a store of grain under Pharaoh's control for the use of the towns, and let them keep it.
41:35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

41:36 이와 같이 그 곡물을 이 땅에 저장하여 애굽 땅에 임할 일곱 해 흉년을 예비하시면 땅이 이 흉년을 인하여 멸망치 아니하리이다
41:36 And let that food be kept in store for the land till the seven bad years which are to come in Egypt; so that the land may not come to destruction through need of food.
41:36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

41:37 ○ 바로와 그 모든 신하가 이 일을 좋게 여긴지라
41:37 And this seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his servants.
41:37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

41:38 바로가 그 신하들에게 이르되 이와 같이 하나님의 신에 감동한 사람을 우리가 어찌 얻을 수 있으리요 하고
41:38 Then Pharaoh said to his servants, Where may we get such a man as this, a man in whom is the spirit of God?
41:38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

41:39 요셉에게 이르되 하나님이 이 모든 것을 네게 보이셨으니 너와 같이 명철하고 지혜 있는 자가 없도다
41:39 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Seeing that God has made all this clear to you, there is no other man of such wisdom and good sense as you:
41:39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God has showed you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you are:

41:40 너는 내 집을 치리하라 내 백성이 다 네 명을 복종하리니 나는 너보다 높음이 보좌 뿐이니라
41:40 You, then, are to be over my house, and all my people will be ruled by your word: only as king will I be greater than you.
41:40 You shall be over my house, and according unto your word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than you.

41:41 바로가 또 요셉에게 이르되 내가 너로 애굽 온 땅을 총리하게 하노라 하고
41:41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have put you over all the land of Egypt.
41:41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.

41:42 자기의 인장 반지를 빼어 요셉의 손에 끼우고 그에게 세마포 옷을 입히고 금사슬을 목에 걸고
41:42 Then Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and he had him clothed with the best linen, and put a chain of gold round his neck;
41:42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

41:43 자기에게 있는 버금 수레에 그를 태우매 무리가 그 앞에서 소리 지르기를 엎드리라 하더라 바로가 그로 애굽 전국을 총리하게 하였더라
41:43 And he made him take his seat in the second of his carriages; and they went before him crying, Make way! So he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
41:43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

41:44 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 나는 바로라 애굽 온 땅에서 네 허락 없이는 수족을 놀릴 자가 없으리라 하고
41:44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, I am Pharaoh; and without your order no man may do anything in all the land of Egypt.
41:44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without you shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

41:45 그가 요셉의 이름을 사브낫바네아라 하고 또 온 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫을 그에게 주어 아내를 삼게 하니라 요셉이 나가 애굽 온 땅을 순찰하니라
41:45 And Pharaoh gave Joseph the name of Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera, the priest of On, to be his wife. So Joseph went through all the land of Egypt.
41:45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

41:46 ○ 요셉이 애굽 왕 바로 앞에 설 때에 삼십 세라 그가 바로 앞을 떠나 애굽 온 땅을 순찰하니
41:46 Now Joseph was thirty years old when he came before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from before the face of Pharaoh and went through all the land of Egypt.
41:46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

41:47 일곱 해 풍년에 토지 소출이 심히 많은지라
41:47 Now in the seven good years the earth gave fruit in masses.
41:47 And in the seven abundant years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

41:48 요셉이 애굽 땅에 있는 그 칠 년 곡물을 거두어 각성에 저축하되 각성 주위의 밭의 곡물을 그 성중에 저장하매
41:48 And Joseph got together all the food of those seven years, and made a store of food in the towns: the produce of the fields round every town was stored up in the town.
41:48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

41:49 저장한 곡식이 바다 모래 같이 심히 많아 세기를 그쳤으니 그 수가 한이 없음이었더라
41:49 So he got together a store of grain like the sand of the sea; so great a store that after a time he gave up measuring it, for it might not be measured.
41:49 And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

41:50 흉년이 들기 전에 요셉에게 두 아들을 낳되 곧 온 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫이 그에게 낳은지라
41:50 And before the time of need, Joseph had two sons, to whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, gave birth.
41:50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

41:51 요셉이 그 장자의 이름을 므낫세라 하였으니 하나님이 나로 나의 모든 고난과 나의 아비의 온 집 일을 잊어버리게 하셨다 함이요
41:51 And to the first he gave the name Manasseh, for he said, God has taken away from me all memory of my hard life and of my father's house.
41:51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, has made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

41:52 차자의 이름을 에브라임이라 하였으니 하나님이 나로 나의 수고한 땅에서 창성하게 하셨다 함이었더라
41:52 And to the second he gave the name Ephraim, for he said, God has given me fruit in the land of my sorrow.
41:52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

41:53 애굽 땅에 일곱 해 풍년이 그치고
41:53 And so the seven good years in Egypt came to an end.
41:53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

41:54 요셉의 말과 같이 일곱 해 흉년이 들기 시작하매 각국에는 기근이 있으나 애굽 온 땅에는 식물이 있더니
41:54 Then came the first of the seven years of need as Joseph had said: and in every other land they were short of food; but in the land of Egypt there was bread.
41:54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

41:55 애굽 온 땅이 주리매 백성이 바로에게 부르짖어 양식을 구하는지라 바로가 애굽 모든 백성에게 이르되 요셉에게 가서 그가 너희에게 이르는 대로 하라 하니라
41:55 And when all the land of Egypt was in need of food, the people came crying to Pharaoh for bread; and Pharaoh said to the people, Go to Joseph, and whatever he says to you, do it.
41:55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he says to you, do.

41:56 온 지면에 기근이 있으매 요셉이 모든 창고를 열고 애굽 백성에게 팔새 애굽 땅에 기근이 심하며
41:56 And everywhere on the earth they were short of food; then Joseph, opening all his store-houses, gave the people of Egypt grain for money; so great was the need of food in the land of Egypt.
41:56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

41:57 각국 백성도 양식을 사려고 애굽으로 들어와 요셉에게 이르렀으니 기근이 온 세상에 심함이었더라
41:57 And all lands sent to Egypt, to Joseph, to get grain, for the need was great over all the earth.
41:57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph in order to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

 창세기 42장 /

42:1 때에 야곱이 애굽에 곡식이 있음을 보고 아들들에게 이르되 너희는 어찌하여 서로 관망만 하느냐
42:1 Now Jacob, hearing that there was grain in Egypt, said to his sons, Why are you looking at one another?
42:1 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do all of you look one upon another?

42:2 야곱이 또 이르되 내가 들은즉 저 애굽에 곡식이 있다 하니 너희는 그리로 가서 거기서 우리를 위하여 사오라 그리하면 우리가 살고 죽지 아니하리라 하매
42:2 And he said, I have had news that there is grain in Egypt: go down there and get grain for us, so that life and not death may be ours.
42:2 And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.

42:3 요셉의 형 십 인이 애굽에서 곡식을 사려고 내려갔으나
42:3 So Joseph's ten brothers went down to get grain from Egypt.
42:3 And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.

42:4 야곱이 요셉의 아우 베냐민을 그 형들과 함께 보내지 아니하였으니 이는 그의 말이 재난이 그에게 미칠까 두렵다 함이었더라
42:4 But Jacob did not send Benjamin, Joseph's brother, with them, for fear, as he said, that some evil might come to him.
42:4 But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest possibly mischief befall him.

42:5 이스라엘의 아들들이 양식 사러 간 자 중에 있으니 가나안 땅에 기근이 있음이라
42:5 And the sons of Israel came with all the others to get grain: for they were very short of food in the land of Canaan.
42:5 And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

42:6 때에 요셉이 나라의 총리로서 그 땅 모든 백성에게 팔더니 요셉의 형들이 와서 그 앞에서 땅에 엎드려 절하매
42:6 Now Joseph was ruler over all the land, and it was he who gave out the grain to all the people of the land; and Joseph's brothers came before him and went down on their faces to the earth.
42:6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

42:7 요셉이 보고 형들인 줄 아나 모르는 체하고 엄한 소리로 그들에게 말하여 가로되 너희가 어디서 왔느냐 그들이 가로되 곡물을 사려고 가나안에서 왔나이다
42:7 And when Joseph saw his brothers, it was clear to him who they were, but he made himself strange to them, and talking roughly to them, said, Where do you come from? And they said, From the land of Canaan, to get food.
42:7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spoke roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come all of you? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

42:8 요셉은 그 형들을 아나 그들은 요셉을 알지 못하더라
42:8 Now though Joseph saw that these were his brothers, they had no idea who he was.
42:8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.

42:9 요셉이 그들에게 대하여 꾼 꿈을 생각하고 그들에게 이르되 너희는 정탐들이라 이 나라의 틈을 엿보려고 왔느니라
42:9 Then the memory of his dreams about them came back to Joseph, and he said to them, You have come secretly to see how poor the land is.
42:9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, All of you are spies; to see the nakedness of the land all of you are come.

42:10 그들이 그에게 이르되 내 주여 아니니이다 종들은 곡물을 사러 왔나이다
42:10 And they said to him, Not so, my lord: your servants have come with money to get food.
42:10 And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are your servants come.

42:11 우리는 다 한 사람의 아들로서 독실한 자니 종들은 정탐이 아니니이다
42:11 We are all one man's sons, we are true men; we have not come with any secret purpose.
42:11 We are all one man's sons; we are true men, your servants are no spies.

42:12 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 아니라 너희가 이 나라의 틈을 엿보러 왔느니라
42:12 And he said to them, No, but you have come to see how poor the land is.
42:12 And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land all of you are come.

42:13 그들이 가로되 주의 종 우리들은 십 이 형제로서 가나안 땅 한 사람의 아들들이라 말째 아들은 오늘 아버지와 함께 있고 또 하나는 없어졌나이다
42:13 Then they said, We your servants are twelve brothers, sons of one man in the land of Canaan; the youngest of us is now with our father, and one is dead.
42:13 And they said, Your servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.

42:14 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희에게 이르기를 너희는 정탐들이라 한 말이 이것이니라
42:14 And Joseph said, It is as I said; you have come with some secret purpose;
42:14 And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spoke unto you, saying, All of you are spies:

42:15 너희는 이같이 하여 너희 진실함을 증명할 것이라 바로의 생명으로 맹세하노니 너희 말째 아우가 여기 오지 아니하면 너희가 여기서 나가지 못하리라
42:15 But in this way will you be put to the test: by the life of Pharaoh, you will not go away from this place till your youngest brother comes here.
42:15 Hereby all of you shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh all of you shall not go forth behind, except your youngest brother come here.

42:16 너희 중 하나를 보내어 너희 아우를 데려오게 하고 너희는 갇히어 있으라 내가 너희의 말을 시험하여 너희 중에 진실이 있는지 보리라 바로의 생명으로 맹세하노니 그리하지 아니하면 너희는 과연 정탐이니라 하고
42:16 Send one of your number to get your brother, and the rest of you will be kept in prison, so that your words may be tested to see if you are true; if not, by the life of Pharaoh, your purpose is certainly secret.
42:16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and all of you shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely all of you are spies.

42:17 그들을 다 함께 삼 일을 가두었더라
42:17 So he put them in prison for three days.
42:17 And he put them all together into ward three days.

42:18 ○ 삼 일 만에 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 나는 하나님을 경외하노니 너희는 이같이 하여 생명을 보전하라
42:18 And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this, if you would keep your lives: for I am a god-fearing man:
42:18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:

42:19 너희가 독실한 자이면 너희 형제 중 한 사람만 그 옥에 갇히게 하고 너희는 곡식을 가지고 가서 너희 집들의 주림을 구하고
42:19 If you are true men, let one of you be kept in prison, while you go and take grain for the needs of your families;
42:19 If all of you be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go all of you, carry corn for the famine of your houses:

42:20 너희 말째 아우를 내게로 데리고 오라 그리하면 너희 말이 진실함이 되고 너희가 죽지 아니하리라 그들이 그대로 하니라
42:20 And come back to me with your youngest brother, so that your words may be seen to be true, and you will not be put to death. This is what you are to do.
42:20 But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and all of you shall not die. And they did so.

42:21 그들이 서로 말하되 우리가 아우의 일로 인하여 범죄하였도다 그가 우리에게 애걸할 때에 그 마음의 괴로움을 보고도 듣지 아니하였으므로 이 괴로움이 우리에게 임하도다
42:21 And they said to one another, Truly, we did wrong to our brother, for we saw his grief of mind, and we did not give ear to his prayers; that is why this trouble has come on us.
42:21 And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.

42:22 르우벤이 그들에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 너희더러 그 아이에게 득죄하지 말라고 하지 아니하였느냐 그래도 너희가 듣지 아니하였느니라 그러므로 그의 피 값을 내게 되었도다 하니
42:22 And Reuben said to them, Did I not say to you, Do the child no wrong? but you gave no attention; so now, punishment has come on us for his blood.
42:22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spoke I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and all of you would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

42:23 피차간에 통변을 세웠으므로 그들은 요셉이 그 말을 알아 들은 줄을 알지 못하였더라
42:23 They were not conscious that the sense of their words was clear to Joseph, for he had been talking to them through one who had knowledge of their language.
42:23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spoke unto them by an interpreter.

42:24 요셉이 그들을 떠나가서 울고 다시 돌아와서 그들과 말하다가 그들 중에서 시므온을 취하여 그들의 목전에서 결박하고
42:24 And turning away from them, he was overcome with weeping; then he went on talking to them again and took Simeon and put chains on him before their eyes.
42:24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.

42:25 명하여 곡물을 그 그릇에 채우게 하고 각인의 돈은 그 자루에 도로 넣게 하고 또 길 양식을 그들에게 주게 하니 그대로 행하였더라
42:25 Then Joseph gave orders for their bags to be made full of grain, and for every man's money to be put back into his bag, and for food to be given them for the journey: which was done.
42:25 Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.

42:26 ○ 그들이 곡식을 나귀에 싣고 그 곳을 떠났더니
42:26 Then they put the bags of grain on their asses and went away.
42:26 And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.

42:27 한 사람이 객점에서 나귀에게 먹이를 주려고 자루를 풀고 본즉 그 돈이 자루 아구에 있는지라
42:27 Now at their night's resting-place one of them, opening his bag to give his ass some food, saw his money in the mouth of the bag.
42:27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass animal food in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth.

42:28 그가 그 형제에게 고하되 내 돈을 도로 넣었도다 보라 자루 속에 있도다 이에 그들이 혼이 나서 떨며 서로 돌아보며 말하되 하나님이 어찌하여 우리에게 이 일을 행하셨는고 하고
42:28 And he said to his brothers, My money has been given back: it is in my bag; then their hearts became full of fear, and turning to one another they said, What is this which God has done to us?
42:28 And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God has done unto us?

42:29 그들이 가나안 땅에 돌아와 그 아비 야곱에게 이르러 그 만난 일을 자세히 고하여 가로되
42:29 So when they came to Jacob their father, in the land of Canaan, they gave him an account of all their experiences, saying,
42:29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,

42:30 그 땅의 주 그 사람이 엄히 우리에게 말씀하고 우리를 그 나라 정탐자로 여기기로
42:30 The man who is the ruler of the country was rough with us and put us in prison, saying that we had come with a secret evil purpose.
42:30 The man, who is the lord of the land, spoke roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.

42:31 우리가 그에게 이르되 우리는 독실한 자요 정탐이 아니니이다
42:31 And we said to him, We are true men, we have no evil designs;
42:31 And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies:

42:32 우리는 한 아비의 아들 십 이 형제로서 하나는 없어지고 말째는 오늘 우리 아버지와 함께 가나안 땅에 있나이다 하였더니
42:32 We are twelve brothers, sons of our father; one is dead, and the youngest is now with our father in the land of Canaan.
42:32 We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

42:33 그 땅의 주 그 사람이 우리에게 이르되 내가 이같이 하여 너희가 독실한 자임을 알리니 너희 형제 중 하나를 내게 두고 양식을 가지고 가서 너희 집들의 주림을 구하고
42:33 And the ruler of the land said, In this way I may be certain that you are true men; let one of you be kept here with me, while you go and take grain for the needs of your families;
42:33 And the man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that all of you are true men; leave one of your brethren here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone:

42:34 너희 말째 아우를 내게로 데려오라 그리하면 너희가 정탐이 아니요 독실한 자임을 내가 알고 너희 형제를 너희에게 돌리리니 너희가 이 나라에서 무역하리라 하더이다 하고
42:34 And come back to me with your youngest brother: then I will be certain that you are true men, and I will give your brother back to you and let you do trade in the land.
42:34 And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that all of you are no spies, but that all of you are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and all of you shall trade in the land.

42:35 각기 자루를 쏟고 본즉 각인의 돈뭉치가 그 자루 속에 있는지라 그들과 그 아비가 돈뭉치를 보고 다 두려워하더니
42:35 And when they took the grain out of their bags, it was seen that every man's parcel of money was in his bag; and when they and their father saw the money, they were full of fear.
42:35 And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.

42:36 그 아비 야곱이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 나로 나의 자식들을 잃게 하도다 요셉도 없어졌고 시므온도 없어졌거늘 베냐민을 또 빼앗아 가고자 하니 이는 다 나를 해롭게 함이로다
42:36 And Jacob their father said to them, You have taken my children from me: Joseph is gone and Simeon is gone, and now you would take Benjamin away; all these things have come on me.
42:36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have all of you bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and all of you will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

42:37 르우벤이 아비에게 고하여 가로되 내가 그를 아버지께로 데리고 오지 아니하거든 나의 두 아들을 죽이소서 그를 내 손에 맡기소서 내가 그를 아버지께로 데리고 돌아오리이다
42:37 And Reuben said, Put my two sons to death if I do not come back to you with him; let him be in my care and I will give him safely back to you.
42:37 And Reuben spoke unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to you: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to you again.

42:38 야곱이 가로되 내 아들은 너희와 함께 내려가지 못하리니 그의 형은 죽고 그만 남았음이라 만일 너희 행하는 길에서 재난이 그 몸에 미치면 너희가 나의 흰 머리로 슬피 음부로 내려가게 함이 되리라
42:38 And he said, I will not let my son go down with you; for his brother is dead and he is all I have: if evil overtakes him on the journey, then through you will my grey head go down to the underworld in sorrow.
42:38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which all of you go, then shall all of you bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

43:1 그 땅에 기근이 심하고
43:1 Now the land was in bitter need of food.
43:1 And the famine was sore in the land.

43:2 그들이 애굽에서 가져온 곡식을 다 먹으매 그 아비가 그들에게 이르되 다시 가서 우리를 위하여 양식을 조금 사라
43:2 And when the grain which they had got in Egypt was all used up, their father said to them, Go again and get us a little food.
43:2 And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

43:3 유다가 아비에게 말하여 가로되 그 사람이 엄히 우리에게 경계하여 가로되 너희 아우가 너희와 함께 하지 아니하면 너희가 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리라 하였으니
43:3 And Judah said to him, The man said to us with an oath, You are not to come before me again without your brother.
43:3 And Judah spoke unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, All of you shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

43:4 아버지께서 우리 아우를 우리와 함께 보내시면 우리가 내려가서 아버지를 위하여 양식을 사려니와
43:4 If you will let our brother go with us, we will go down and get food:
43:4 If you will send our brother with us, we will go down and buy you food:

43:5 아버지께서 만일 그를 보내지 않으시면 우리는 내려가지 아니하리니 그 사람이 우리에게 말하기를 너희 아우가 너희와 함께 하지 아니하면 너희가 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리라 하였음이니이다
43:5 But if you will not send him, we will not go down: for the man said to us, You are not to come before me if your brother is not with you.
43:5 But if you will not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, All of you shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

43:6 이스라엘이 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 너희에게 오히려 아우가 있다고 그 사람에게 고하여 나를 해롭게 하였느냐
43:6 And Israel said, Why were you so cruel to me as to say to him that you had a brother?
43:6 And Israel said, Wherefore dealt all of you so ill with me, as to tell the man whether all of you had yet a brother?

43:7 그들이 가로되 그 사람이 우리와 우리의 친족에 대하여 자세히 힐문하여 이르기를 너희 아버지가 그저 살았느냐 너희에게 아우가 있느냐 하기로 그 말을 조조이 그에게 대답한 것이라 그가 너희 아우를 데리고 내려오라 할 줄을 우리가 어찌 알았으리이까
43:7 And they said, The man put a number of questions to us about ourselves and our family, saying, Is your father still living? have you another brother? And we had to give him answers; how were we to have any idea that he would say, Come back with your brother?
43:7 And they said, The man asked us strictly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have all of you another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?

43:8 유다가 아비 이스라엘에게 이르되 저 아이를 나와 함께 보내시면 우리가 곧 가리니 그러면 우리와 아버지와 우리 어린 것들이 다 살고 죽지 아니하리이다
43:8 Then Judah said to Israel, his father, Send the boy with me, and let us be up and going, so that we and you and our little ones may not come to destruction.
43:8 And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and you, and also our little ones.

43:9 내가 그의 몸을 담보하오리니 아버지께서 내 손에 그를 물으소서 내가 만일 그를 아버지께 데려다가 아버지 앞에 두지 아니하면 내가 영원히 죄를 지리이다
43:9 Put him into my care and make me responsible for him: if I do not give him safely back to you, let mine be the sin for ever.
43:9 I will be guarantor for him; of my hand shall you require him: if I bring him not unto you, and set him before you, then let me bear the blame for ever:

43:10 우리가 지체하지 아니하였더면 벌써 두 번 갔다 왔으리이다.
43:10 Truly, if we had not let the time go by, we might have come back again by now.
43:10 For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

43:11 그들의 아비 이스라엘이 그들에게 이르되 그러할진대 이렇게 하라 너희는 이 땅의 아름다운 소산을 그릇에 담아가지고 내려가서 그 사람에게 예물을 삼을지니 곧 유향 조금과 꿀 조금과 향품과 몰약과 비자와 파단행이니라
43:11 Then their father Israel said to them, If it has to be so, then do this: take of the best fruits of the land in your vessels to give the man, perfumes and honey and spices and nuts:
43:11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

43:12 너희 손에 돈을 배나 가지고 너희 자루 아구에 도로 넣여 온 그 돈을 다시 가지고 가라 혹 차착이 있었을까 두렵도다
43:12 And take twice as much money with you; that is to say, take back the money which was put in your bags, for it may have been an error;
43:12 And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; possibly it was an oversight:

43:13 네 아우도 데리고 떠나 다시 그 사람에게로 가라
43:13 And take your brother and go back to the man:
43:13 Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:

43:14 전능하신 하나님께서 그 사람 앞에서 너희에게 은혜를 베푸사 그 사람으로 너희 다른 형제와 베냐민을 돌려보내게 하시기를 원하노라 내가 자식을 잃게 되면 잃으리로다
43:14 And may God, the Ruler of all, give you mercy before the man, so that he may give you back your other brother and Benjamin. If my children are to be taken from me; there is no help for it.
43:14 And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

43:15 그 사람들이 그 예물을 취하고 갑절 돈을 자기들의 손에 가지고 베냐민을 데리고 애굽에 내려가서 요셉의 앞에 서니라
43:15 So they took what their father said for the man, and twice as much money in their hands, and Benjamin, and went on their journey to Egypt, and came before Joseph.
43:15 And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

43:16 ○ 요셉이 베냐민이 그들과 함께 있음을 보고 청지기에게 이르되 이 사람들을 집으로 인도해 들이고 짐승을 잡고 준비하라 이 사람들이 오정에 나와 함께 먹을 것이니라
43:16 And when Joseph saw Benjamin, he said to his chief servant, Take these men into my house, and make ready a meal, for they will take food with me in the middle of the day.
43:16 And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon.

43:17 그 사람이 요셉의 명대로 하여 그 사람들을 요셉의 집으로 인도하니
43:17 And the servant did as Joseph said, and took the men into Joseph's house.
43:17 And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house.

43:18 그 사람들이 요셉의 집으로 인도되매 두려워하여 이르되 전일 우리 자루에 넣여 있던 돈의 일로 우리가 끌려드도다 이는 우리를 억류하고 달려들어 우리를 잡아 노예를 삼고 우리의 나귀를 빼앗으려 함이로다 하고
43:18 Now the men were full of fear because they had been taken into Joseph's house and they said, It is because of the money which was put back in our bags the first time; he is looking for something against us, so that he may come down on us and take us and our asses for his use.
43:18 And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.

43:19 그들이 요셉의 청지기에게 가까이 나아가 그 집 문 앞에서 그에게 고하여
43:19 So they went up to Joseph's chief servant at the door of the house,
43:19 And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,

43:20 가로되 내 주여 우리가 전일에 내려와서 양식을 사가지고
43:20 And said, O my lord, we only came down the first time to get food;
43:20 And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:

43:21 객점에 이르러 자루를 풀어본즉 각인의 돈이 본수대로 자루 아구에 있기로 우리가 도로 가져왔고
43:21 And when we came to our night's resting-place, on opening our bags we saw that every man's money was in the mouth of his bag, all our money in full weight: and we have it with us to give it back;
43:21 And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

43:22 양식 살 다른 돈도 우리가 가지고 내려왔나이다 우리의 돈을 우리 자루에 넣은 자는 누구인지 우리가 알지 못하나이다
43:22 As well as more money, with which to get food: we have no idea who put our money in our bags.
43:22 And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.

43:23 그가 이르되 너희는 안심하라 두려워 말라 너희 하나님 너희 아버지의 하나님이 재물을 너희 자루에 넣어 너희에게 주신 것이니라 너희 돈은 내가 이미 받았느니라 하고 시므온을 그들에게로 이끌어내고
43:23 Then the servant said, Peace be with you: have no fear: your God, even the God of your father, has put wealth in your bags for you: I had your money. Then he let Simeon come out to them.
43:23 And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

43:24 그들을 요셉의 집으로 인도하고 물을 주어 발을 씻게 하며 그 나귀에게 먹이를 주더라
43:24 And the servant took them into Joseph's house, and gave them water for washing their feet; and he gave their asses food.
43:24 And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses animal food.

43:25 그들이 여기서 먹겠다 함을 들은 고로 예물을 정돈하고 요셉이 오정에 오기를 기다리더니
43:25 And they got ready the things for Joseph before he came in the middle of the day: for word was given to them that they were to have a meal there.
43:25 And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.

43:26 요셉이 집으로 오매 그들이 그 집으로 들어가서 그 예물을 그에게 드리고 땅에 엎드리어 절하니
43:26 And when Joseph came in, they gave him the things which they had for him, and went down to the earth before him.
43:26 And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

43:27 요셉이 그들의 안부를 물으며 가로되 너희 아버지 너희가 말하던 그 노인이 안녕하시냐 지금까지 생존하셨느냐
43:27 And he said, How are you? is your father well, the old man of whom you were talking to me? is he still living?
43:27 And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom all of you spoke? Is he yet alive?

43:28 그들이 대답하되 주의 종 우리 아비가 평안하고 지금까지 생존하였나이다 하고 머리 숙여 절하더라
43:28 And they said, Your servant, our father, is well, he is still living. And they went down on their faces before him.
43:28 And they answered, Your servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made reverence.

43:29 요셉이 눈을 들어 자기 어머니의 아들 자기 동생 베냐민을 보고 가로되 너희가 내게 말하던 너희 작은 동생이 이냐 그가 또 가로되 소자여 하나님이 네게 은혜 베푸시기를 원하노라
43:29 Then, lifting up his eyes, he saw Benjamin, his brother, his mother's son, and he said, Is this your youngest brother of whom you gave me word? And he said, God be good to you, my son.
43:29 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom all of you spoke unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto you, my son.

43:30 요셉이 아우를 인하여 마음이 타는 듯하므로 급히 울 곳을 찾아 안방으로 들어가서 울고
43:30 Then Joseph's heart went out to his brother, and he went quickly into his room, for he was overcome with weeping.
43:30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

43:31 얼굴을 씻고 나와서 그 정을 억제하고 음식을 차리라 하매
43:31 Then, after washing his face, he came out, and controlling his feelings said, Put food before us.
43:31 And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

43:32 그들이 요셉에게 따로 하고 그 형제들에게 따로 하고 배식하는 애굽 사람에게도 따로 하니 애굽 사람은 히브리 사람과 같이 먹으면 부정을 입음이었더라
43:32 And they put a meal ready for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians who were with him by themselves; because the Egyptians may not take food with the Hebrews, for that would make them unclean.
43:32 And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

43:33 그들이 요셉의 앞에 앉되 그 장유의 차서대로 앉히운 바 되니 그들이 서로 이상히 여겼더라
43:33 And they were all given their seats before him in order of birth, from the oldest to the youngest: so that they were looking at one another in wonder.
43:33 And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another.

43:34 요셉이 자기 식물로 그들에게 주되 베냐민에게는 다른 사람보다 오 배나 주매 그들이 마시며 요셉과 함께 즐거워하였더라
43:34 And Joseph sent food to them from his table, but he sent five times as much to Benjamin as to any of the others. And they took wine freely with him.
43:34 And he took and sent portions unto them from before him: but Benjamin's portion was five times so much as any of their's. And they drank, and were merry with him.

 창세기 44장 /

44:1 요셉이 그 청지기에 명하여 가로되 양식을 각인의 자루에 실을 수 있을 만큼 채우고 각인의 돈을 그 자루에 넣고
44:1 Then he gave orders to the servant who was over his house, saying, Put as much food into the men's bags as will go into them, and put every man's money in the mouth of his bag;
44:1 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

44:2 또 내 잔 곧 은잔을 그 소년의 자루 아구에 넣고 그 양식 값 돈도 함께 넣으라 하매 그가 요셉의 명령대로 하고
44:2 And put my cup, my silver cup, in the youngest one's bag, with his money. So he did as Joseph said.
44:2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.

44:3 개동시에 사람들과 그 나귀를 보내니라
44:3 And at dawn the men, with their asses, were sent away.
44:3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

44:4 그들이 성에서 나가 멀리 가기 전에 요셉이 청지기에게 이르되 일어나 그 사람들의 뒤를 따라 미칠 때에 그들에게 이르기를 너희가 어찌하여 악으로 선을 갚느냐
44:4 And when they had gone only a little way out of the town, Joseph said to the servant who was over his house, Go after them; and when you overtake them, say to them, Why have you done evil in reward for good?
44:4 And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when you do overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have all of you rewarded evil for good?

44:5 이것은 내 주인이 가지고 마시며 늘 점치는데 쓰는 것이 아니냐 너희가 이같이 하니 악하도다 하라
44:5 Is not this the cup from which my lord takes wine and by which he gets knowledge of the future? Truly, you have done evil.
44:5 Is not this it in which my lord drinks, and whereby indeed he divines? all of you have done evil in so doing.

44:6 청지기가 그들에게 따라 미쳐 그대로 말하니
44:6 So he overtook them and said these words to them.
44:6 And he overtook them, and he spoke unto them these same words.

44:7 그들이 그에게 대답하되 우리 주여 어찌 이렇게 말씀하시나이까 이런 일은 종들이 결단코 아니하나이다
44:7 And they said to him, Why does my lord say such words as these? far be it from your servants to do such a thing:
44:7 And they said unto him, Wherefore says my lord these words? God forbid that your servants should do according to this thing:

44:8 우리 자루에 있던 돈도 우리가 가나안 땅에서부터 당신에게로 가져왔거늘 우리가 어찌 당신 주인의 집에서 은금을 도적질하리이까
44:8 See, the money which was in the mouth of our bags we gave back to you when we came again from Canaan: how then might we take silver or gold from your lord's house?
44:8 Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto you out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of your lord's house silver or gold?

44:9 종들 중 뉘게서 발견되든지 그는 죽을 것이요 우리는 우리 주의 종이 되리이다
44:9 If it comes to light that any of your servants has done this, let him be put to death, and we will be your lord's servants.
44:9 With whomsoever of your servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen.

44:10 그가 가로되 그러면 너희 말과 같이 하리라 그것이 뉘게서든지 발견되면 그는 우리 종이 될 것이요 너희에게는 책망이 없으리라
44:10 And he said, Let it be as you say: he in whose bag it is seen will become my servant; and you will not be responsible.
44:10 And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and all of you shall be blameless.

44:11 그들이 각각 급히 자루를 땅에 내려놓고 각기 푸니
44:11 Then every man quickly got his bag down and undid it.
44:11 Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack.

44:12 그가 나이 많은 자에게서부터 시작하여 나이 적은 자에게까지 수탐하매 잔이 베냐민의 자루에서 발견된지라
44:12 And he made a search, starting with the oldest and ending with the youngest; and the cup was in Benjamin's bag.
44:12 And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.

44:13 그들이 옷을 찢고 각기 짐을 나귀에 싣고 성으로 돌아오니라
44:13 Then in bitter grief they put the bags on the asses again and went back to the town.
44:13 Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.

44:14 ○ 유다와 그 형제들이 요셉의 집에 이르니 요셉이 오히려 그 곳에 있는지라 그 앞 땅에 엎드리니
44:14 So Judah and his brothers came to Joseph's house; and he was still there: and they went down on their faces before him.
44:14 And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.

44:15 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 이런 일을 행하였느냐 나 같은 사람이 점 잘 칠 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐
44:15 And Joseph said, What is this thing which you have done? had you no thought that such a man as I would have power to see what is secret?
44:15 And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that all of you have done? know all of you not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

44:16 유다가 가로되 우리가 내 주께 무슨 말을 하오리이까 무슨 설명을 하오리이까 어떻게 우리의 정직을 나타내리이까 하나님이 종들의 죄악을 적발하셨으니 우리와 이 잔이 발견된 자가 다 내 주의 종이 되겠나이다
44:16 And Judah said, What are we to say to my lord? how may we put ourselves right in his eyes? God has made clear the sin of your servants: now we are in your hands, we and the man in whose bag your cup was seen.
44:16 And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.

44:17 요셉이 가로되 내가 결코 그리하지 아니하리라 잔이 그 손에서 발견된 자만 나의 종이 되고 너희는 평안히 너희 아버지께로 도로 올라갈 것이니라
44:17 Then he said, Far be it from me to do so: but the man who had my cup will be my servant; and you may go back to your father in peace.
44:17 And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

44:18 유다가 그에게 가까이 가서 가로되 내 주여 청컨대 종으로 내 주의 귀에 한 말씀을 고하게 하소서 주의 종에게 노하지 마옵소서 주는 바로와 같으심이니이다
44:18 Then Judah came near him, and said, Let your servant say a word in my lord's ears, and let not your wrath be burning against your servant: for you are in the place of Pharaoh to us.
44:18 Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let your servant, I pray you, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not yours anger burn against your servant: for you are even as Pharaoh.

44:19 이전에 내 주께서 종들에게 물으시되 너희는 아비가 있느냐 아우가 있느냐 하시기에
44:19 My lord said to his servants, Have you a father or a brother?
44:19 My lord asked his servants, saying, Have all of you a father, or a brother?

44:20 우리가 내 주께 고하되 우리에게 아비가 있으니 노인이요 또 그 노년에 얻은 아들 소년이 있으니 그의 형은 죽고 그 어미의 끼친 것은 그 뿐이므로 그 아비가 그를 사랑하나이다 하였더니
44:20 And we said to my lord, We have an old father and a young child, whom he had when he was old; his brother is dead and he is the only son of his mother, and is very dear to his father.
44:20 And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.

44:21 주께서 또 종들에게 이르시되 그를 내게로 데리고 내려와서 나로 그를 목도하게 하라 하시기로
44:21 And you said to your servants, Let him come down to me with you, so that I may see him.
44:21 And you said unto your servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him.

44:22 우리가 내 주께 말씀하기를 그 아이는 아비를 떠나지 못할지니 떠나면 아비가 죽겠나이다
44:22 And we said to my lord, His father will not let him go; for if he went away his father would come to his death.
44:22 And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

44:23 주께서 또 주의 종들에게 말씀하시되 너희 말째 아우가 너희와 함께 내려오지 아니하면 너희가 다시 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리라 하시기로
44:23 But you said to your servants, If your youngest brother does not come with you, you will not see my face again.
44:23 And you said unto your servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, all of you shall see my face no more.

44:24 우리가 주의 종 우리 아비에게로 도로 올라가서 내 주의 말씀을 그에게 고하였나이다
44:24 And when we went back to your servant, our father, we gave him an account of my lord's words.
44:24 And it came to pass when we came up unto your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.

44:25 그 후에 우리 아비가 다시 가서 곡물을 조금 사오라 하시기로
44:25 And our father said, Go again and get us a little food.
44:25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

44:26 우리가 이르되 우리가 내려갈 수 없나이다 우리 말째 아우가 함께 하면 내려가려니와 말째 아우가 우리와 함께함이 아니면 사람의 얼굴을 볼 수 없음이니이다
44:26 And we said, Only if our youngest brother goes with us will we go down; for we may not see the man's face again if our youngest brother is not with us.
44:26 And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.

44:27 주의 종 우리 아비가 우리에게 이르되 너희도 알거니와 내 아내가 내게 두 아들을 낳았으나
44:27 And our father said to us, You have knowledge that my wife gave me two sons;
44:27 And your servant my father said unto us, All of you know that my wife bare me two sons:

44:28 하나는 내게서 나간 고로 내가 말하기를 정녕 찢겨 죽었다 하고 내가 지금까지 그를 보지 못하거늘
44:28 The one went away from me, and I said, Truly he has come to a violent death; and from that time I have not seen him,
44:28 And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:

44:29 너희가 이도 내게서 취하여 가려한즉 만일 재해가 그 몸에 미치면 나의 흰 머리로 슬피 음부로 내려가게 하리라 하니
44:29 If now you take this one from me, and some evil comes to him, you will make my grey head go down in sorrow to the underworld.
44:29 And if all of you take this also from me, and mischief befall him, all of you shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

44:30 아비의 생명과 아이의 생명이 서로 결탁되었거늘 이제 내가 주의 종 우리 아비에게 돌아갈 때에 아이가 우리와 함께 하지 아니하면
44:30 If then I go back to your servant, my father, without the boy, because his life and the boy's life are one,
44:30 Now therefore when I come to your servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

44:31 아비가 아이의 없음을 보고 죽으리니 이같이 되면 종들이 주의 종 우리 아비의 흰 머리로 슬피 음부로 내려가게 함이니이다
44:31 When he sees that the boy is not with us, he will come to his death, and our father's grey head will go down in sorrow to the underworld.
44:31 It shall come to pass, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and your servants shall bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

44:32 주의 종이 내 아비에게 아이를 담보하기를 내가 이를 아버지께로 데리고 돌아오지 아니하면 영영히 아버지께 죄를 지리이다 하였사오니
44:32 For I made myself responsible for the boy to my father, saying, If I do not give him safely back to you, let mine be the sin for ever.
44:32 For your servant became guarantor for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto you, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

44:33 청컨대 주의 종으로 아이를 대신하여 있어서 주의 종이 되게 하시고 아이는 형제와 함께 도로 올려 보내소서
44:33 So now let me be my lord's servant here in place of the boy, and let him go back with his brothers.
44:33 Now therefore, I pray you, let your servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

44:34 내가 어찌 아이와 함께 하지 아니하고 내 아비에게로 올라갈 수 있으리이까 두렵건대 재해가 내 아비에게 미침을 보리이다
44:34 For how may I go back to my father without the boy, and see the evil which will come on my father?
44:34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest possibly I see the evil that shall come on my father.

 창세기 45장 /

45:1 요셉이 시종하는 자들 앞에서 그 정을 억제하지 못하여 소리질러 모든 사람을 자기에게서 물러가라 하고 그 형제에게 자기를 알리니 때에 그와 함께 한 자가 없었더라
45:1 Then Joseph, unable to keep back his feelings before those who were with him, gave orders for everyone to be sent away, and no one was present when he made clear to his brothers who he was.
45:1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

45:2 요셉이 방성대곡하니 애굽 사람에게 들리며 바로의 궁중에 들리더라
45:2 And so loud was his weeping, that it came to the ears of the Egyptians and all Pharaoh's house.
45:2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

45:3 요셉이 그 형들에게 이르되 나는 요셉이라 내 아버지께서 아직 살아 계시니이까 형들이 그 앞에서 놀라서 능히 대답하지 못하는지라
45:3 And Joseph said to his brothers, I am Joseph: is my father still living? But his brothers were not able to give him an answer for they were troubled before him.
45:3 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

45:4 요셉이 형들에게 이르되 내게로 가까이 오소서 그들이 가까이 가니 가로되 나는 당신들의 아우 요셉이니 당신들이 애굽에 판 자라
45:4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, Come near to me. And they came near, And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom you sent into Egypt.
45:4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom all of you sold into Egypt.

45:5 당신들이 나를 이곳에 팔았으므로 근심하지 마소서 한탄하지 마소서 하나님이 생명을 구원하시려고 나를 당신들 앞서 보내셨나이다
45:5 Now do not be troubled or angry with yourselves for sending me away, because God sent me before you to be the saviour of your lives.
45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that all of you sold me here: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

45:6 이 땅에 이 년 동안 흉년이 들었으나 아직 오 년은 기경도 못하고 추수도 못할지라
45:6 For these two years have been years of need, and there are still five more years to come in which there will be no ploughing or cutting of grain.
45:6 For these two years has the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earring nor harvest.

45:7 하나님이 큰 구원으로 당신들의 생명을 보존하고 당신들의 후손을 세상에 두시려고 나를 당신들 앞서 보내셨나니
45:7 God sent me before you to keep you and yours living on earth so that you might become a great nation.
45:7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

45:8 그런즉 나를 이리로 보낸 자는 당신들이 아니요 하나님이시라 하나님이 나로 바로의 아비를 삼으시며 그 온 집의 주를 삼으시며 애굽 온 땅의 치리자를 삼으셨나이다
45:8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God: and he has made me as a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
45:8 So now it was not you that sent me here, but God: and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

45:9 당신들은 속히 아버지께로 올라가서 고하기를 아버지의 아들 요셉의 말에 하나님이 나를 애굽 전국의 주로 세우셨으니 내게로 지체 말고 내려오사
45:9 Now go quickly to my father, and say to him, Your son Joseph says, God has made me ruler over all the land of Egypt: come down to me straight away:
45:9 Haste all of you, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:

45:10 아버지의 아들들과 아버지의 손자들과 아버지의 양과 소와 모든 소유가 고센 땅에 있어서 나와 가깝게 하소서
45:10 The land of Goshen will be your living-place, and you will be near me; you and your children and your children's children, and your flocks and herds and all you have:
45:10 And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near unto me, you, and your children, and your children's children, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that you have:

45:11 흉년이 아직 다섯 해가 있으니 내가 거기서 아버지를 봉양하리이다 아버지와 아버지의 가속과 아버지의 모든 소속이 결핍할까 하나이다 하더라 하소서
45:11 And there I will take care of you, so that you and your family may not be in need, for there are still five bad years to come.
45:11 And there will I nourish you; for yet there are five years of famine; lest you, and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.

45:12 당신들의 눈과 내 아우 베냐민의 눈이 보는 바 당신들에게 이 말을 하는 것은 내 입이라
45:12 Now truly, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see, that it is my mouth which says these things to you.
45:12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks unto you.

45:13 당신들은 나의 애굽에서의 영화와 당신들의 본 모든 것을 다 내 아버지께 고하고 속히 모시고 내려오소서 하며
45:13 Give my father word of all my glory in Egypt and of all you have seen; and come back quickly with my father.
45:13 And all of you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that all of you have seen; and all of you shall haste and bring down my father here.

45:14 자기 아우 베냐민의 목을 안고 우니 베냐민도 요셉의 목을 안고 우니라
45:14 Then, weeping, he took Benjamin in his arms, and Benjamin himself was weeping on Joseph's neck.
45:14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

45:15 요셉이 또 형들과 입맞추며 안고 우니 형들이 그제야 요셉과 말하니라
45:15 Then he gave a kiss to all his brothers, weeping over them; and after that his brothers had no fear of talking to him.
45:15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.

45:16 ○ 요셉의 형들이 왔다는 소문이 바로의 궁에 들리매 바로와 그 신복이 기뻐하고
45:16 And news of these things went through Pharaoh's house, and it was said that Joseph's brothers were come; and it seemed good to Pharaoh and his servants.
45:16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.

45:17 바로는 요셉에게 이르되 네 형들에게 명하기를 너희는 이렇게 하여 너희 양식을 싣고 가서 가나안 땅에 이르거든
45:17 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to your brothers, Put your goods on your beasts and go back to the land of Canaan;
45:17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto your brethren, This do all of you; load your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;

45:18 너희 아비와 너희 가속을 이끌고 내게로 오라 내가 너희에게 애굽 땅 아름다운 것을 주리니 너희가 나라의 기름진 것을 먹으리라
45:18 And get your father and your families and come back to me: and I will give you all the good things of Egypt, and the fat of the land will be your food.
45:18 And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and all of you shall eat the fat of the land.

45:19 이제 명을 받았으니 이렇게 하라 너희는 애굽 땅에서 수레를 가져다가 너희 자녀와 아내를 태우고 너희 아비를 데려오라
45:19 And say to them, This you are to do: take carts from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and get your father and come back.
45:19 Now you are commanded, this do all of you; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.

45:20 또 너희의 기구를 아끼지 말라 온 애굽 땅의 좋은 것이 너희 것임이니라 하라
45:20 And take no thought for your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
45:20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt are yours.

45:21 ○ 이스라엘의 아들들이 그대로 할새 요셉이 바로의 명대로 그들에게로 수레를 주고 길 양식을 주며
45:21 And the children of Israel did as he said; and Joseph gave them carts as had been ordered by Pharaoh, and food for their journey.
45:21 And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.

45:22 또 그들에게 다 각기 옷 한 벌씩 주되 베냐민에게는 은 삼백과 옷 다섯 벌을 주고
45:22 To every one of them he gave three changes of clothing; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred bits of silver and five changes of clothing.
45:22 To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.

45:23 그가 또 이와 같이 그 아비에게 보내되 수나귀 열 필에 애굽의 아름다운 물품을 실리고 암나귀 열 필에는 아비에게 길에서 공궤 할 곡식과 떡과 양식을 실리고
45:23 And to his father he sent ten asses with good things from Egypt on their backs, and ten she-asses with grain and bread and food for his father on the journey.
45:23 And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and food for his father by the way.

45:24 이에 형들을 돌려보내며 그들에게 이르되 당신들은 노중에서 다투지 말라 하였더라
45:24 And he sent his brothers on their way, and said to them, See that you have no argument on the road.
45:24 So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that all of you fall not out by the way.

45:25 그들이 애굽에서 올라와 가나안 땅으로 들어가서 아비 야곱에게 이르러
45:25 So they went up from Egypt and came to the land of Canaan, to their father Jacob.
45:25 And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,

45:26 고하여 가로되 요셉이 지금까지 살아 있어 애굽 땅 총리가 되었더이다 야곱이 그들을 믿지 아니하므로 기색하더니
45:26 And they said to him, Joseph is living, and is ruler over all the land of Egypt. And at this word Jacob was quite overcome, for he had no faith in it.
45:26 And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.

45:27 그들이 또 요셉이 자기들에게 부탁한 모든 말로 그 아비에게 고하매 그 아비 야곱이 요셉의 자기를 태우려고 보낸 수레를 보고야 기운이 소생한지라
45:27 And they gave him an account of everything Joseph had said to them; and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent for them, his spirit came back to him:
45:27 And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:

45:28 이스라엘이 가로되 족하도다 내 아들 요셉이 지금까지 살았으니 내가 죽기 전에 가서 그를 보리라
45:28 And Israel said, It is enough: Joseph my son is still living; I will go and see him before my death.
45:28 And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.

 창세기 46장 /

46:1 이스라엘이 모든 소유를 이끌고 발행하여 브엘세바에 이르러 그 아비 이삭의 하나님께 희생을 드리니
46:1 And Israel went on his journey with all he had, and came to Beer-sheba, where he made offerings to the God of his father Isaac.
46:1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.

46:2 밤에 하나님이 이상 중에 이스라엘에게 나타나시고 불러 가라사대 야곱아 야곱아 하시는지라 야곱이 가로되 내가 여기 있나이다 하매
46:2 And God said to Israel in a night-vision, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
46:2 And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

46:3 하나님이 가라사대 나는 하나님이라 네 아비의 하나님이니 애굽으로 내려가기를 두려워 말라 내가 거기서 너로 큰 민족을 이루게 하리라
46:3 And he said, I am God, the God of your father: go down to Egypt without fear, for I will make a great nation of you there:
46:3 And he said, I am God, the God of your father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation:

46:4 내가 너와 함께 애굽으로 내려가겠고 정녕 너를 인도하여 다시 올라올 것이며 요셉이 그 손으로 네 눈을 감기리라 하셨더라
46:4 I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will see that you come back again, and at your death Joseph will put his hands on your eyes.
46:4 I will go down with you into Egypt; and I will also surely bring you up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon yours eyes.

46:5 야곱이 브엘세바에서 발행할새 이스라엘의 아들들이 바로의 태우려고 보낸 수레에 자기들의 아비 야곱과 자기들의 처자들을 태웠고
46:5 Then Jacob went on from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Jacob took their father and their little ones and their wives in the carts which Pharaoh had sent for them.
46:5 And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

46:6 그 생축과 가나안 땅에서 얻은 재물을 이끌었으며 야곱과 그 자손들이 다 함께 애굽으로 갔더라
46:6 And they took their cattle and all the goods which they had got in the land of Canaan, and came to Egypt, even Jacob and all his seed:
46:6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had got in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:

46:7 이와 같이 야곱이 그 아들들과 손자들과 딸들과 손녀들 곧 그 모든 자손을 데리고 애굽으로 갔더라
46:7 His sons and his sons' sons, his daughters and his daughters' sons and all his family he took with him into Egypt.
46:7 His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

46:8 ○ 애굽으로 내려간 이스라엘 가족의 이름이 이러하니 야곱과 그 아들들 곧 야곱의 맏아들 르우벤과
46:8 And these are the names of the children of Israel who came into Egypt, even Jacob and all his sons: Reuben, Jacob's oldest son;
46:8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

46:9 르우벤의 아들 하녹과 발루와 헤스론과 갈미요
46:9 And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch and Pallu and Hezron and Carmi;
46:9 And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

46:10 시므온의 아들 곧 여무엘과 야민과 오핫과 야긴과 스할과 가나안 여인의 소생 사울이요
46:10 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul, the son of a woman of Canaan;
46:10 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.

46:11 레위의 아들 곧 게르손과 그핫과 므라리요
46:11 And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari;
46:11 And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

46:12 유다의 아들 곧 엘과 오난과 셀라와 베레스와 세라니 엘과 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었고 또 베레스의 아들 곧 헤스론과 하물이요
46:12 And the sons of Judah: Er and Onan and Shelah and Perez and Zerah: but Er and Onan had come to their death in the land of Canaan; and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
46:12 And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zarah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

46:13 잇사갈의 아들 곧 돌라와 부와와 욥과 시므론이요
46:13 And the sons of Issachar: Tola and Puah and Job and Shimron;
46:13 And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.

46:14 스불론의 아들 곧 세렛과 엘론과 얄르엘이니
46:14 And the sons of Zebulun: Sered and Elon and Jahleel;
46:14 And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.

46:15 이들은 레아가 밧단아람에서 야곱에게 낳은 자손들이라 그 딸 디나를 합하여 남자와 여자가 삼십 삼 명이며
46:15 All these, together with his daughter Dinah, were the children of Leah, whom Jacob had by her in Paddan-aram; they were thirty-three in number.
46:15 These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

46:16 갓의 아들 곧 시뵨과 학기와 수니와 에스본과 에리와 아로디와 아렐리요
46:16 And the sons of Gad: Ziphion and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, Eri and Arodi and Areli;
46:16 And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

46:17 아셀의 아들 곧 임나와 이스와와 이스위와 브리아와 그들의 누이 세라며 또 브리아의 아들 곧 헤벨과 말기엘이니
46:17 And the sons of Asher: Jimnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah, and Sarah, their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
46:17 And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.

46:18 이들은 라반이 그 딸 레아에게 준 실바가 야곱에게 낳은 자손들이라 합 십 륙 명이요
46:18 These are the children of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah, and Jacob had these sixteen children by her.
46:18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.

46:19 야곱의 아내 라헬의 아들 곧 요셉과 베냐민이요
46:19 The sons of Jacob's wife Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
46:19 The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.

46:20 애굽 땅에서 온 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫이 요셉에게 낳은 므낫세와 에브라임이요
46:20 And Joseph had Manasseh and Ephraim in the land of Egypt, by Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On.
46:20 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

46:21 베냐민의 아들 곧 벨라와 베겔과 아스벨과 게라와 나아만과 에히와 로스와 뭅빔과 훔빔과 아릇이니
46:21 And the sons of Benjamin were Belah and Becher and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppim and Huppim and Ard.
46:21 And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

46:22 이들은 라헬이 야곱에게 낳은 자손이라 합 십 사 명이요
46:22 All these were the children of Rachel whom Jacob had by her, fourteen persons.
46:22 These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.

46:23 단의 아들 후심이요
46:23 And the son of Dan was Hushim.
46:23 And the sons of Dan; Hushim.

46:24 납달리의 아들 곧 야스엘과 구니와 예셀과 실렘이라
46:24 And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel and Guni and Jezer and Shillem.
46:24 And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.

46:25 이들은 라반이 그 딸 라헬에게 준 빌하가 야곱에게 낳은 자손이니 합이 칠 명이라
46:25 These were the children of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, seven persons.
46:25 These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.

46:26 야곱과 함께 애굽에 이른 자는 야곱의 자부 외에 육십 육 명이니 이는 다 야곱의 몸에서 나온 자며
46:26 All the persons who came with Jacob into Egypt, the offspring of his body, were sixty-six, without taking into account the wives of Jacob's sons.
46:26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six;

46:27 애굽에서 요셉에게 낳은 아들이 두 명이니 야곱의 집 사람으로 애굽에 이른 자의 도합이 칠십 명이었더라
46:27 And the sons of Joseph whom he had in Egypt were two. Seventy persons of the family of Jacob came into Egypt.
46:27 And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.

46:28 ○ 야곱이 유다를 요셉에게 미리 보내어 자기를 고센으로 인도하게 하고 다 고센 땅에 이르니
46:28 Now he had sent Judah before him to Goshen, to get word from Joseph; and so they came to the land of Goshen.
46:28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.

46:29 요셉이 수레를 갖추고 고센으로 올라가서 아비 이스라엘을 맞으며 그에게 보이고 그 목을 어긋맞겨 안고 얼마 동안 울매
46:29 And Joseph got his carriage ready and went to Goshen for the meeting with his father; and when he came before him, he put his arms round his neck, weeping.
46:29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

46:30 이스라엘이 요셉에게 이르되 네가 지금까지 살아 있고 내가 네 얼굴을 보았으니 지금 죽어도 가하도다
46:30 And Israel said to Joseph, Now that I have seen you living again, I am ready for death.
46:30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen your face, because you are yet alive.

46:31 요셉이 그 형들과 아비의 권속에게 이르되 내가 올라가서 바로에게 고하여 이르기를 가나안 땅에 있던 내 형들과 내 아비의 권속이 내게로 왔는데
46:31 And Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's people, I will go and give the news to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brothers and my father's people, from the land of Canaan, have come to me;
46:31 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and show Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;

46:32 그들은 목자라 목축으로 업을 삼으므로 그 양과 소와 모든 소유를 이끌고 왔나이다 하리니
46:32 And these men are keepers of sheep and owners of cattle, and have with them their flocks and their herds and all they have.
46:32 And the men are shepherds, for their trade has been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.

46:33 바로가 당신들을 불러서 너희의 업이 무엇이냐 묻거든
46:33 Now when Pharaoh sends for you and says, What is your business?
46:33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?

46:34 당신들은 고하기를 주의 종들은 어렸을 때부터 지금까지 목축하는 자이온데 우리와 우리 선조가 다 그러하니이다 하소서 애굽 사람은 다 목축을 가증히 여기나니 당신들이 고센 땅에 거하게 되리이다
46:34 You are to say, Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our early days up to now, like our fathers; in this way you will be able to have the land of Goshen for yourselves; because keepers of sheep are unclean in the eyes of the Egyptians.
46:34 That all of you shall say, Your servants' trade has been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that all of you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

 창세기 47장 /

47:1 요셉이 바로에게 가서 고하여 가로되 나의 아비와 형들과 그들의 양과 소와 모든 소유가 가나안 땅에서 와서 고센 땅에 있나이다 하고
47:1 Then Joseph went to Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brothers with their flocks and their herds and all they have, are come from Canaan, and are now in the land of Goshen.
47:1 Then Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.

47:2 형들 중 오 인을 택하여 바로에게 보이니
47:2 And he took five of his brothers to Pharaoh.
47:2 And he took some of his brethren, even five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.

47:3 바로가 요셉의 형들에게 묻되 너희 생업이 무엇이냐 그들이 바로에게 대답하되 종들은 목자이온데 우리와 선조가 다 그러하니이다 하고
47:3 And Pharaoh said to them, What is your business? And they said, Your servants are keepers of sheep, as our fathers were before us.
47:3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Your servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.

47:4 그들이 또 바로에게 고하되 가나안 땅에 기근이 심하여 종들의 떼를 칠 곳이 없기로 종들이 이곳에 우거하러 왔사오니 청컨대 종들로 고센 땅에 거하게 하소서
47:4 And they said to Pharaoh, We have come to make a living in this land, because we have no grass for our flocks in the land of Canaan; so now let your servants make a place for themselves in the land of Goshen.
47:4 They said moreover unto Pharaoh, In order to sojourn in the land are we come; for your servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray you, let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.

47:5 바로가 요셉에게 일러 가로되 네 아비와 형들이 네게 왔은즉
47:5 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Let them have the land of Goshen; and if there are any able men among them, put them over my cattle.
47:5 And Pharaoh spoke unto Joseph, saying, Your father and your brethren are come unto you:

47:6 애굽 땅이 네 앞에 있으니 땅의 좋은 곳에 네 아비와 형들로 거하게 하되 고센 땅에 그들로 거하게 하고 그들 중에 능한 자가 있는 줄을 알거든 그들로 나의 짐승을 주관하게 하라
47:6 And Jacob and his sons came to Joseph in Egypt, and when word of it came to the ears of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, he said to Joseph, Your father and brothers have come to you; all the land of Egypt is before you; let your father and your brothers have the best of the land for their resting-place.
47:6 The land of Egypt is before you; in the best of the land make your father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if you know any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.

47:7 요셉이 자기 아비 야곱을 인도하여 바로 앞에 서게 하니 야곱이 바로에게 축복하매
47:7 Then Joseph made his father Jacob come before Pharaoh, and Jacob gave him his blessing.
47:7 And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.

47:8 바로가 야곱에게 묻되 네 연세가 얼마뇨
47:8 And Pharaoh said to him, How old are you?
47:8 And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old are you?

47:9 야곱이 바로에게 고하되 내 나그네 길의 세월이 일백 삼십 년이니이다 나의 연세가 얼마 못되니 우리 조상의 나그네 길의 세월에 미치지 못하나 험악한 세월을 보내었나이다 하고
47:9 And Jacob said, The years of my wanderings have been a hundred and thirty; small in number and full of sorrow have been the years of my life, and less than the years of the wanderings of my fathers.
47:9 And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

47:10 야곱이 바로에게 축복하고 그 앞에서 나오니라
47:10 And Jacob gave Pharaoh his blessing, and went out from before him.
47:10 And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.

47:11 요셉이 바로의 명대로 그 아비와 형들에게 거할 곳을 주되 애굽의 좋은 땅 라암세스를 그들에게 주어 기업을 삼게 하고
47:11 And Joseph made a place for his father and his brothers, and gave them a heritage in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had given orders.
47:11 And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.

47:12 또 그 아비와 형들과 아비의 온 집에 그 식구를 따라 식물을 주어 공궤하였더라
47:12 And Joseph took care of his father and his brothers and all his father's people, giving them food for the needs of their families.
47:12 And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families.

47:13 ○ 기근이 더욱 심하여 사방에 식물이 없고 애굽 땅과 가나안 땅이 기근으로 쇠약하니
47:13 Now there was no food to be had in all the land, so that all Egypt and Canaan were wasted from need of food.
47:13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.

47:14 요셉이 곡식을 팔아 애굽 땅과 가나안 땅에 있는 돈을 몰수이 거두고 그 돈을 바로의 궁으로 가져오니
47:14 And all the money in Egypt and in the land of Canaan which had been given for grain, came into the hands of Joseph: and he put it in Pharaoh's house.
47:14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house.

47:15 애굽 땅과 가나안 땅에 돈이 진한지라 애굽 백성이 다 요셉에게 와서 가로되 돈이 진하였사오니 우리에게 식물을 주소서 어찌 주 앞에서 죽으리이까
47:15 And when all the money in Egypt and Canaan was gone, the Egyptians came to Joseph, and said, Give us bread; would you have us come to destruction before your eyes? for we have no more money.
47:15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in your presence? for the money fails.

47:16 요셉이 가로되 너희의 짐승을 내라 돈이 진하였은즉 내가 너희의 짐승과 바꾸어 주리라
47:16 And Joseph said, Give me your cattle; I will give you grain in exchange for your cattle if your money is all gone.
47:16 And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.

47:17 그들이 그 짐승을 요셉에게 끌어 오는지라 요셉이 그 말과 양 떼와 소 떼와 나귀를 받고 그들에게 식물을 주되 곧 그 모든 짐승과 바꾸어서 그 해 동안에 식물로 그들을 기르니라
47:17 So they took their cattle to Joseph and he gave them bread in exchange for their horses and flocks and herds and asses, so all that year he gave them food in exchange for their cattle.
47:17 And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.

47:18 그 해가 다하고 새 해가 되매 무리가 요셉에게 와서 그에게 고하되 우리가 주께 숨기지 아니하나이다 우리의 돈이 다하였고 우리의 짐승 떼가 주께로 돌아갔사오니 주께 낼 것이 아무것도 남지 아니하고 우리의 몸과 전지뿐이라
47:18 And when that year was ended, they came to him in the second year, and said, We may not keep it from our lord's knowledge that all our money is gone, and all the herds of cattle are my lord's; there is nothing more to give my lord but our bodies and our land;
47:18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also has our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:

47:19 우리가 어찌 우리의 전지와 함께 주의 목전에 죽으리이까 우리 몸과 우리 토지를 식물로 사소서 우리가 토지와 함께 바로의 종이 되리니 우리에게 종자를 주시면 우리가 살고 죽지 아니하고 전지도 황폐치 아니하리이다
47:19 Are we to come to destruction before your eyes, we and our land? take us and our land and give us bread; and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh; and give us seed so that we may have life and the land may not become waste.
47:19 Wherefore shall we die before yours eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.

47:20 ○ 그러므로 요셉이 애굽 전지를 다 사서 바로에게 드리니 애굽 사람이 기근에 몰려서 각기 전지를 팖이라 땅이 바로의 소유가 되니라
47:20 So Joseph got all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh; for every Egyptian gave up his land in exchange for food, because of their great need; so all the land became Pharaoh's.
47:20 And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh's.

47:21 요셉이 애굽 이 끝에서 저 끝까지의 백성을 성읍들에 옮겼으나
47:21 And as for the people, he made servants of them, town by town, from one end of Egypt to the other.
47:21 And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.

47:22 제사장의 전지는 사지 아니하였으니 제사장은 바로에게서 녹을 받음이라 바로의 주는 녹을 먹으므로 그 전지를 팔지 않음이었더라
47:22 Only he did not take the land of the priests, for the priests had their food given them by Pharaoh, and having what Pharaoh gave them, they had no need to give up their land.
47:22 Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.

47:23 요셉이 백성에게 이르되 오늘날 내가 바로를 위하여 너희 몸과 너희 전지를 샀노라 여기 종자가 있으니 너희는 그 땅에 뿌리라
47:23 Then Joseph said to the people, I have made you and your land this day the property of Pharaoh; here is seed for you to put in your fields.
47:23 Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and all of you shall sow the land.

47:24 추수의 오분 일을 바로에게 상납하고 사분은 너희가 취하여 전지의 종자도 삼고 너희의 양식도 삼고 너희 집 사람과 어린 아이의 양식도 삼으라
47:24 And when the grain is cut, you are to give a fifth part to Pharaoh, and four parts will be yours for seed and food, and for your families and your little ones.
47:24 And it shall come to pass in the increase, that all of you shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.

47:25 그들이 가로되 주께서 우리를 살리셨사오니 우리가 주께 은혜를 입고 바로의 종이 되겠나이다
47:25 And they said to him, Truly you have kept us from death; may we have grace in your eyes, and we will be Pharaoh's servants.
47:25 And they said, You have saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh's servants.

47:26 요셉이 애굽 토지법을 세우매 그 오분 일이 바로에게 상납되나 제사장의 토지는 바로의 소유가 되지 아니하여 오늘까지 이르니라
47:26 Then Joseph made a law which is in force to this day, that Pharaoh was to have the fifth part; only the land of the priests did not become his.
47:26 And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part, except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh's.

47:27 ○ 이스라엘 족속이 애굽 고센 땅에 거하며 거기서 산업을 얻고 생육하며 번성하였더라
47:27 And so Israel was living among the Egyptians in the land of Goshen; and they got property there, and became very great in numbers and in wealth.
47:27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.

47:28 야곱이 애굽 땅에 십 칠 년을 거하였으니 그의 수가 일백 사십 칠 세라
47:28 And Jacob was living in the land of Goshen for seventeen years; so the years of his life were a hundred and forty-seven.
47:28 And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years.

47:29 이스라엘의 죽을 기한이 가까우매 그가 그 아들 요셉을 불러 그에게 이르되 이제 내가 네게 은혜를 입었거든 청하노니 네 손을 내 환도뼈 아래 넣어서 나를 인애와 성심으로 대접하여 애굽에 장사하지 않기를 맹세하고
47:29 And the time of his death came near, and he sent for his son Joseph and said to him, If now I am dear to you, put your hand under my leg and take an oath that you will not put me to rest in Egypt;
47:29 And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in your sight, put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray you, in Egypt:

47:30 내가 조상들과 함께 눕거든 너는 나를 애굽에서 메어다가 선영에 장사하라 요셉이 가로되 내가 아버지의 말씀대로 행하리이다
47:30 But when I go to my fathers, you are to take me out of Egypt and put me to rest in their last resting-place. And he said, I will do so.
47:30 But I will lie with my fathers, and you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as you have said.

47:31 야곱이 또 가로되 내게 맹세하라 맹세하니 이스라엘이 침상 머리에서 경배하니라
47:31 And he said, Take an oath to me; and he took an oath to him: and Israel gave worship on the bed's head.
47:31 And he said, Swear unto me. And he swore unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head.

 창세기 48장 /

48:1 이 일 후에 혹이 요셉에게 고하기를 네 부친이 병들었다 하므로 그가 곧 두 아들 므낫세와 에브라임과 함께 이르니
48:1 Now after these things, word came to Joseph that his father was ill: and he took with him his sons Manasseh and Ephraim.
48:1 And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, your father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

48:2 혹이 야곱에게 고하되 네 아들 요셉이 네게 왔다 하매 이스라엘이 힘을 내어 침상에 앉아
48:2 And when they said to Jacob, Your son Joseph is coming to see you: then Israel, getting all his strength together, had himself lifted up in his bed.
48:2 And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, your son Joseph comes unto you: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.

48:3 요셉에게 이르되 이전에 가나안 땅 루스에서 전능한 하나님이 내게 나타나 복을 허락하여
48:3 And Jacob said to Joseph, God, the Ruler of all, came to me in a vision at Luz in the land of Canaan, and gave me his blessing,
48:3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

48:4 내게 이르시되 내가 너로 생육하게 하며 번성하게 하여 네게서 많은 백성이 나게 하고 내가 이 땅을 네 후손에게 주어 영원한 기업이 되게 하리라 하셨느니라
48:4 And said to me, Truly, I will make you fertile and give you increase and will make of you a great family of nations: and I will give this land to your seed after you to be their heritage for ever.
48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people; and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.

48:5 내가 애굽으로 와서 네게 이르기 전에 애굽에서 네게 낳은 두 아들 에브라임과 므낫세는 내 것이라 르우벤과 시므온처럼 내 것이 될 것이요
48:5 And now your two sons who came to birth in Egypt before I came to you here, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, in the same way as Reuben and Simeon are.
48:5 And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto you in the land of Egypt before I came unto you into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

48:6 이들 후의 네 소생이 네 것이 될 것이며 그 산업은 그 형의 명의하에서 함께 하리라
48:6 And any other offspring which you have after them, will be yours, and will be named after their brothers in their heritage.
48:6 And your issue, which you brought forth after them, shall be yours, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.

48:7 내게 관하여는 내가 이전에 내가 밧단에서 올 때에 라헬이 나를 따르는 노중 가나안 땅에서 죽었는데 그 곳은 에브랏까지 길이 오히려 격한 곳이라 내가 거기서 그를 에브랏 길에 장사하였느니라 {에브랏은 곧 베들레헴이라}
48:7 And as for me, when I came from Paddan, death overtook Rachel on the way, when we were still some distance from Ephrath; and I put her to rest there on the road to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
48:7 And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.

48:8 ○ 이스라엘이 요셉의 아들들을 보고 가로되 이들은 누구냐
48:8 Then Israel, looking at Joseph's sons, said, Who are these?
48:8 And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?

48:9 요셉이 그 아비에게 고하되 이는 하나님이 여기서 내게 주신 아들들이니이다 아비가 가로되 그들을 이끌어 내 앞으로 나아오라 내가 그들에게 축복하리라
48:9 And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this land. And he said, Let them come near me, and I will give them a blessing.
48:9 And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray you, unto me, and I will bless them.

48:10 이스라엘의 눈이 나이로 인하여 어두워서 보지 못하더라 요셉이 두 아들을 이끌어 아비 앞으로 나아가니 이스라엘이 그들에게 입맞추고 그들을 안고
48:10 Now because Israel was old, his eyes were no longer clear, and he was not able to see. So he made them come near to him, and he gave them a kiss, folding them in his arms.
48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.

48:11 요셉에게 이르되 내가 네 얼굴을 보리라고는 뜻하지 못하였더니 하나님이 내게 네 소생까지 보이셨도다
48:11 And Israel said to Joseph, I had no hope of seeing your face again, but God in his mercy has let me see you and your children.
48:11 And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see your face: and, lo, God has showed me also your seed.

48:12 요셉이 아비 무릎 사이에서 두 아들을 물리고 땅에 엎드려 절하고
48:12 Then Joseph took them from between his knees, and went down on his face to the earth.
48:12 And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.

48:13 우수로는 에브라임을 이스라엘의 좌수를 향하게 하고 좌수로는 므낫세를 이스라엘의 우수를 향하게 하고 이끌어 그에게 가까이 나아가매
48:13 Then taking Ephraim with his right hand, Joseph put him at Israel's left side, and with his left hand he put Manasseh at Israel's right side, placing them near him.
48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.

48:14 이스라엘이 우수를 펴서 차자 에브라임의 머리에 얹고 좌수를 펴서 므낫세의 머리에 얹으니 므낫세는 장자라도 팔을 어긋맞겨 얹었더라
48:14 And Israel, stretching out his right hand, put it on the head of Ephraim, the younger, and his left hand on the head of Manasseh, crossing his hands on purpose, for Manasseh was the older.
48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wisely; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

48:15 그가 요셉을 위하여 축복하여 가로되 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭의 섬기던 하나님, 나의 남으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님,
48:15 And he gave Joseph a blessing, saying, May the God to whom my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, gave worship, the God who has taken care of me all my life till this day,
48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

48:16 나를 모든 환난에서 건지신 사자께서 이 아이에게 복을 주시오며 이들로 내 이름과 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭의 이름으로 칭하게 하시오며 이들로 세상에서 번식되게 하시기를 원하나이다
48:16 The angel who has been my saviour from all evil, send his blessing on these children: and let my name and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, be given to them; and let them become a great nation in the earth.
48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

48:17 요셉이 그 아비가 우수를 에브라임의 머리에 얹은 것을 보고 기뻐 아니하여 아비의 손을 들어 에브라임의 머리에서 므낫세의 머리로 옮기고자 하여
48:17 Now when Joseph saw that his father had put his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it did not seem right to him; and lifting his father's hand he would have put it on the head of Manasseh.
48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.

48:18 그 아비에게 이르되 아버지여 그리 마옵소서 이는 장자니 우수를 그 머리에 얹으소서
48:18 And Joseph said to his father, Not so, my father, for this is the older; put your right hand on his head.
48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head.

48:19 아비가 허락지 아니하여 가로되 나도 안다 내 아들아 나도 안다 그도 한 족속이 되며 그도 크게 되려니와 그 아우가 그보다 큰 자가 되고 그 자손이 여러 민족을 이루리라 하고
48:19 But his father would not, saying, I am doing it on purpose, my son; he will certainly become a nation and a great one; but his younger brother will be greater than he, and his seed will become a great family of nations.
48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

48:20 그 날에 그들에게 축복하여 가로되 이스라엘 족속이 너로 축복하기를 하나님이 너로 에브라임 같고 므낫세 같게 하시리라 하리라 하여 에브라임을 므낫세보다 앞세웠더라
48:20 So he gave them his blessing that day, saying, You will be the sign of blessing in Israel, for they will say, May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh; and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
48:20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In you shall Israel bless, saying, God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

48:21 이스라엘이 요셉에게 또 이르되 나는 죽으나 하나님이 너희와 함께 계시사 너희를 인도하여 너희 조상의 땅으로 돌아가게 하시려니와
48:21 Then Israel said to Joseph, Now my death is near; but God will be with you, guiding you back to the land of your fathers.
48:21 And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

48:22 내가 네게 네 형제보다 일부분을 더 주었나니 이는 내가 내 칼과 활로 아모리 족속의 손에서 빼앗은 것이니라
48:22 And I have given you more than your brothers, even Shechem as your heritage, which I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow.
48:22 Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.

 창세기 49장 /

49:1 야곱이 그 아들들을 불러 이르되 너희는 모이라 너희의 후일에 당할 일을 내가 너희에게 이르리라
49:1 And Jacob sent for his sons, and said, Come together, all of you, so that I may give you news of your fate in future times.
49:1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

49:2 너희는 모여 들으라 야곱의 아들들아 너희 아비 이스라엘에게 들을지어다
49:2 Come near, O sons of Jacob, and give ear to the words of Israel your father.
49:2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, all of you sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

49:3 르우벤아 너는 내 장자요 나의 능력이요 나의 기력의 시작이라 위광이 초등하고 권능이 탁월하도다마는
49:3 Reuben, you are my oldest son, the first-fruit of my strength, first in pride and first in power:
49:3 Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

49:4 물의 끓음 같았은즉 너는 탁월치 못하리니 네가 아비의 침상에 올라 더럽혔음이로다 그가 내 침상에 올랐었도다
49:4 But because you were uncontrolled, the first place will not be yours; for you went up to your father's bed, even his bride-bed, and made it unclean.
49:4 Unstable as water, you shall not excel; because you went up to your father's bed; then defiled you it: he went up to my couch.

49:5 시므온과 레위는 형제요 그들의 칼은 잔해하는 기계로다
49:5 Simeon and Levi are brothers; deceit and force are their secret designs.
49:5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.

49:6 내 혼아 그들의 모의에 상관하지 말지어다 내 영광아 그들의 집회에 참여하지 말지어다 그들이 그 분노대로 사람을 죽이고 그 혈기대로 소의 발목 힘줄을 끊었음이로다
49:6 Take no part in their secrets, O my soul; keep far away, O my heart, from their meetings; for in their wrath they put men to death, and for their pleasure even oxen were wounded.
49:6 O my soul, come not you into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not you united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they dug down a wall.

49:7 그 노염이 혹독하니 저주를 받을 것이요 분기가 맹렬하니 저주를 받을 것이라 내가 그들을 야곱 중에서 나누며 이스라엘 중에서 흩으리로다
49:7 A curse on their passion for it was bitter; and on their wrath for it was cruel. I will let their heritage in Jacob be broken up, driving them from their places in Israel.
49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

49:8 유다야 너는 네 형제의 찬송이 될지라 네 손이 네 원수의 목을 잡을 것이요 네 아비의 아들들이 네 앞에 절하리로다
49:8 To you, Judah, will your brothers give praise: your hand will be on the neck of your haters; your father's sons will go down to the earth before you.
49:8 Judah, you are he whom your brethren shall praise: your hand shall be in the neck of yours enemies; your father's children shall bow down before you.

49:9 유다는 사자 새끼로다 내 아들아 너는 움킨 것을 찢고 올라 갔도다 그의 엎드리고 웅크림이 수사자 같고 암사자 같으니 누가 그를 범할 수 있으랴
49:9 Judah is a young lion; like a lion full of meat you have become great, my son; now he takes his rest like a lion stretched out and like an old lion; by whom will his sleep be broken?
49:9 Judah is a lion's offspring: from the prey, my son, you are gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

49:10 홀이 유다를 떠나지 아니하며 치리자의 지팡이가 그 발 사이에서 떠나지 아니하시기를 실로가 오시기까지 미치리니 그에게 모든 백성이 복종하리로다
49:10 The rod of authority will not be taken from Judah, and he will not be without a law-giver, till he comes who has the right to it, and the peoples will put themselves under his rule.
49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

49:11 그의 나귀를 포도나무에 매며 그 암나귀 새끼를 아름다운 포도나무에 맬 것이며 또 그 옷을 포도주에 빨며 그 복장을 포도즙에 빨리로다
49:11 Knotting his ass's cord to the vine, and his young ass to the best vine; washing his robe in wine, and his clothing in the blood of grapes:
49:11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:

49:12 그 눈은 포도주로 인하여 붉겠고 그 이는 우유로 인하여 희리로다
49:12 His eyes will be dark with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
49:12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

49:13 스불론은 해변에 거하리니 그 곳은 배 매는 해변이라 그 지경이 시돈까지리로다
49:13 The resting-place of Zebulun will be by the sea, and he will be a harbour for ships; the edge of his land will be by Zidon.
49:13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.

49:14 잇사갈은 양의 우리 사이에 꿇어 앉은 건장한 나귀로다
49:14 Issachar is a strong ass stretched out among the flocks:
49:14 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:

49:15 그는 쉴 곳을 보고 좋게 여기며 토지를 보고 아름답게 여기고 어깨를 내려 짐을 메고 압제 아래서 섬기리로다
49:15 And he saw that rest was good and the land was pleasing; so he let them put weights on his back and became a servant.
49:15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.

49:16 단은 이스라엘의 한 지파 같이 그 백성을 심판하리로다
49:16 Dan will be the judge of his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
49:16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.

49:17 단은 길의 뱀이요 첩경의 독사리로다 말굽을 물어서 그 탄 자로 뒤로 떨어지게 하리로다
49:17 May Dan be a snake in the way, a horned snake by the road, biting the horse's foot so that the horseman has a fall.
49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

49:18 여호와여 나는 주의 구원을 기다리나이다
49:18 I have been waiting for your salvation, O Lord.
49:18 I have waited for your salvation, O LORD.

49:19 갓은 군대의 박격을 받으나 도리어 그 뒤를 추격하리로다
49:19 Gad, an army will come against him, but he will come down on them in their flight.
49:19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.

49:20 아셀에게서 나는 식물은 기름진 것이라 그가 왕의 진수를 공궤하리로다
49:20 Asher's bread is fat; he gives delicate food for kings.
49:20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.

49:21 납달리는 놓인 암사슴이라 아름다운 소리를 발하는도다
49:21 Naphtali is a roe let loose, giving fair young ones.
49:21 Naphtali is a hind let loose: he gives goodly words.

49:22 요셉은 무성한 가지 곧 샘 곁의 무성한 가지라 그 가지가 담을 넘었도다
49:22 Joseph is a young ox, whose steps are turned to the fountain;
49:22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

49:23 활쏘는 자가 그를 학대하며 그를 쏘며 그를 군박하였으나
49:23 He was troubled by the archers; they sent out their arrows against him, cruelly wounding him:
49:23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

49:24 요셉의 활이 도리어 견강하며 그의 팔이 힘이 있으니 야곱의 전능자의 손을 힘입음이라 그로부터 이스라엘의 반석인 목자가 나도다
49:24 But their bows were broken by a strong one, and the cords of their arms were cut by the Strength of Jacob, by the name of the Stone of Israel:
49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

49:25 네 아비의 하나님께로 말미암나니 그가 너를 도우실 것이요 전능자로 말미암나니 그가 네게 복을 주실 것이라 위로 하늘의 복과 아래로 원천의 복과 젖먹이는 복과 태의 복이리로다
49:25 Even by the God of your father, who will be your help, and by the Ruler of all, who will make you full with blessings from heaven on high, blessings of the deep stretched out under the earth, blessings of the breasts and of the fertile body:
49:25 Even by the God of your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

49:26 네 아비의 축복이 내 부여조의 축복보다 나아서 영원한 산이 한 없음 같이 이 축복이 요셉의 머리로 돌아오며 그 형제 중 뛰어난 자의 정수리로 돌아오리로다
49:26 Blessings of sons, old and young, to the father: blessings of the oldest mountains and the fruit of the eternal hills: let them come on the head of Joseph, on the crown of him who was separate from his brothers.
49:26 The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my conceivers unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

49:27 베냐민은 물어뜯는 이리라 아침에는 빼앗은 것을 먹고 저녁에는 움킨 것을 나누리로다
49:27 Benjamin is a wolf, searching for meat: in the morning he takes his food, and in the evening he makes division of what he has taken.
49:27 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.

49:28 이들은 이스라엘의 십 이 지파라 이와 같이 그 아비가 그들에게 말하고 그들에게 축복하였으되 곧 그들 각인의 분량대로 축복하였더라
49:28 These are the twelve tribes of Israel: and these are the words their father said to them, blessing them; to every one he gave his blessing.
49:28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spoke unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.

49:29 그가 그들에게 명하여 가로되 내가 내 열조에게로 돌아가리니 나를 헷사람 에브론의 밭에 있는 굴에 우리 부여조와 함께 장사하라
49:29 And he gave orders to them, saying, Put me to rest with my people and with my fathers, in the hollow of the rock in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
49:29 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

49:30 이 굴은 가나안 땅 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있는 것이라 아브라함이 헷 사람 에브론에게서 밭과 함께 사서 그 소유 매장지를 삼았으므로
49:30 In the rock in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in the land of Canaan, which Abraham got from Ephron the Hittite, to be his resting-place.
49:30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.

49:31 아브라함과 그 아내 사라가 거기 장사되었고 이삭과 그 아내 리브가도 거기 장사되었으며 나도 레아를 그 곳에 장사하였노라
49:31 There Abraham and Sarah his wife were put to rest, and there they put Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I put Leah to rest.
49:31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.

49:32 이 밭과 거기 있는 굴은 헷 사람에게서 산 것이니라
49:32 In the rock in the field which was got for a price from the people of Heth.
49:32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.

49:33 야곱이 아들에게 명하기를 마치고 그 발을 침상에 거두고 기운이 진하여 그 열조에게로 돌아갔더라
49:33 And when Jacob had come to the end of these words to his sons, stretching himself on his bed, he gave up his spirit, and went the way of his people.
49:33 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the spirit, and was gathered unto his people.

50:1 요셉이 아비 얼굴에 구푸려 울며 입맞추고
50:1 And Joseph put his head down on his father's face, weeping and kissing him.
50:1 And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.

50:2 그 수종 의사에게 명하여 향 재료로 아비의 몸에 넣게 하매 의사가 이스라엘에게 그대로 하되
50:2 And Joseph gave orders to his servants who had the necessary knowledge, to make his father's body ready, folding it in linen with spices, and they did so.
50:2 And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.

50:3 사십 일이 걸렸으니 향 재료를 넣는 데는 이 날수가 걸림이며 애굽 사람들은 칠십 일 동안 그를 위하여 곡하였더라
50:3 And the forty days needed for making the body ready went by: and there was weeping for him among the Egyptians for seventy days.
50:3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

50:4 ○ 곡하는 기한이 지나매 요셉이 바로의 궁에 말하여 가로되 내가 너희에게 은혜를 입었으면 청컨대 바로의 귀에 고하기를
50:4 And when the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph said to the servants of Pharaoh, If now you have love for me, say these words to Pharaoh:
50:4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,

50:5 우리 아버지가 나로 맹세하게 하여 이르되 내가 죽거든 가나안 땅에 내가 파서 둔 묘실에 나를 장사하라 하였나니 나로 올라가서 아버지를 장사하게 하소서 내가 다시 오리이다 하라 하였더니
50:5 My father made me take an oath, saying, When I am dead, put me to rest in the place I have made ready for myself in the land of Canaan. So now let me go and put my father in his last resting-place, and I will come back again.
50:5 My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have dug for me in the land of Canaan, there shall you bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray you, and bury my father, and I will come again.

50:6 바로가 가로되 그가 네게 시킨 맹세대로 올라가서 네 아비를 장사하라
50:6 And Pharaoh said, Go up and put your father to rest, as you gave your oath to him.
50:6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury your father, according as he made you swear.

50:7 요셉이 자기 아비를 장사하러 올라가니 바로의 모든 신하와 바로 궁의 장로들과 애굽 땅의 모든 장로와
50:7 So Joseph went up to put his father in his last resting-place; and with him went all the servants of Pharaoh, and the chief men of his house and all the chiefs of the land of Egypt,
50:7 And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

50:8 요셉의 온 집과 그 형제들과 그 아비의 집이 그와 함께 올라가고 그들의 어린 아이들과 양 떼와 소 떼만 고센 땅에 남겼으며
50:8 And all the family of Joseph, and his brothers and his father's people: only their little ones and their flocks and herds they did not take with them from the land of Goshen.
50:8 And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.

50:9 병거와 기병이 요셉을 따라 올라가니 그 떼가 심히 컸더라
50:9 And carriages went up with him and horsemen, a great army.
50:9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.

50:10 그들이 요단 강 건너편 아닷 타작 마당에 이르러 거기서 크게 호곡하고 애통하며 요셉이 아비를 위하여 칠 일 동안 애곡하였더니
50:10 And they came to the grain-floor of Atad on the other side of Jordan, and there they gave the last honours to Jacob, with great and bitter sorrow, weeping for their father for seven days.
50:10 And they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.

50:11 그 땅 거민 가나안 백성들이 아닷 마당의 애통을 보고 가로되 이는 애굽 사람의 큰 애통이라 하였으므로 그 땅 이름을 아벨미스라임이라 하였으니 곧 요단 강 건너편이더라
50:11 And when the people of the land, the people of Canaan, at the grain-floor of Atad, saw their grief, they said, Great is the grief of the Egyptians: so the place was named Abel-mizraim, on the other side of Jordan.
50:11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.

50:12 야곱의 아들들이 부명을 좇아 행하여
50:12 So his sons did as he had given them orders to do:
50:12 And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:

50:13 그를 가나안 땅으로 메어다가 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭 굴에 장사하였으니 이는 아브라함이 헷 족속 에브론에게 밭과 함께 사서 소유 매장지를 삼은 곳이더라
50:13 For they took him into the land of Canaan and put him to rest in the hollow rock in the field of Machpelah, which Abraham got with the field, for a resting-place, from Ephron the Hittite at Mamre.
50:13 For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.

50:14 요셉이 아비를 장사한 후에 자기 형제와 호상군과 함께 애굽으로 돌아왔더라
50:14 And when his father had been put to rest, Joseph and his brothers and all who had gone with him, went back to Egypt.
50:14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

50:15 ○ 요셉의 형제들이 그 아비가 죽었음을 보고 말하되 요셉이 혹시 우리를 미워하여 우리가 그에게 행한 모든 악을 다 갚지나 아니할까 하고
50:15 Now after the death of their father, Joseph's brothers said to themselves, It may be that Joseph's heart will be turned against us, and he will give us punishment for all the evil which we did to him.
50:15 And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will possibly hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

50:16 요셉에게 말을 전하여 가로되 당신의 아버지가 돌아가시기 전에 명하여 이르시기를
50:16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, Your father, before his death, gave us orders, saying,
50:16 And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Your father did command before he died, saying,

50:17 너희는 이같이 요셉에게 이르라 네 형들이 네게 악을 행하였을지라도 이제 바라건대 그 허물과 죄를 용서하라 하셨다 하라 하셨나니 당신의 아버지의 하나님의 종들의 죄를 이제 용서하소서 하매 요셉의 그 말을 들을 때에 울었더라
50:17 You are to say to Joseph, Let the wrongdoing of your brothers be overlooked, and the evil they did to you: now, if it is your pleasure, let the sin of the servants of your father's God have forgiveness. And at these words, Joseph was overcome with weeping.
50:17 So shall all of you say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray you now, the trespass of your brethren, and their sin; for they did unto you evil: and now, we pray you, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke unto him.

50:18 그 형들이 또 친히 와서 요셉의 앞에 엎드려 가로되 우리는 당신의 종이니이다
50:18 Then his brothers went, and falling at his feet, said, Truly, we are your servants.
50:18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be your servants.

50:19 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 두려워 마소서 내가 하나님을 대신하리이까
50:19 And Joseph said, Have no fear: am I in the place of God?
50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

50:20 당신들은 나를 해하려 하였으나 하나님은 그것을 선으로 바꾸사 오늘과 같이 만민의 생명을 구원하게 하시려 하셨나니
50:20 As for you, it was in your mind to do me evil, but God has given a happy outcome, the salvation of numbers of people, as you see today.
50:20 But as for you, all of you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

50:21 당신들은 두려워 마소서 내가 당신들과 당신들의 자녀를 기르리이다 하고 그들을 간곡한 말로 위로하였더라
50:21 So now, have no fear: for I will take care of you and your little ones. So he gave them comfort with kind words.
50:21 Now therefore fear all of you not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly unto them.

50:22 ○ 요셉이 그 아비의 가족과 함께 애굽에 거하여 일백 십 세를 살며
50:22 Now Joseph and all his father's family went on living in Egypt: and the years of Joseph's life were a hundred and ten.
50:22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

50:23 에브라임의 자손 삼 대를 보았으며 므낫세의 아들 마길의 아들들도 요셉의 슬하에서 양육되었더라
50:23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: and the children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, came to birth on Joseph's knees.
50:23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

50:24 요셉이 그 형제에게 이르되 나는 죽으나 하나님이 너희를 권고하시고 너희를 이 땅에서 인도하여 내사 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하신 땅에 이르게 하시리라 하고
50:24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, The time of my death has come; but God will keep you in mind and take you out of this land into the land which he gave by his oath to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
50:24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

50:25 요셉이 또 이스라엘 자손에게 맹세시켜 이르기를 하나님이 정녕 너희를 권고하시리니 너희는 여기서 내 해골을 메고 올라가겠다 하라 하였더라
50:25 Then Joseph made the children of Israel take an oath, saying, God will certainly give effect to his word, and you are to take my bones away from here.
50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and all of you shall carry up my bones from behind.

50:26 요셉이 일백 십 세에 죽으매 그들이 그의 몸에 향 재료를 넣고 애굽에서 입관하였더라
50:26 So Joseph came to his death, being a hundred and ten years old: and they made his body ready, and he was put in a chest in Egypt.
50:26 So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
