31:1 µµ¿òÀ» ±¸ÇÏ·¯ ¾Ö±ÁÀ¸·Î ³»·Á°¡´Â ÀÚµéÀº È­ ÀÖÀ»ÁøÀú ±×µéÀº ¸»À» ÀÇ·ÚÇÏ¸ç º´°ÅÀÇ ¸¹À½°ú ¸¶º´ÀÇ ½ÉÈ÷ °­ÇÔÀ» ÀÇÁöÇÏ°í À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÇ °Å·èÇϽŠÀÚ¸¦ ¾Ó¸ðÄ¡ ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¸ç ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ ±¸ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°Å´Ï¿Í
31:1 Cursed are those who go down to Egypt for help, and who put their faith in horses; looking to war-carriages for salvation, because of their numbers; and to horsemen, because they are very strong; but they are not looking to the Holy One of Israel, or turning their hearts to the Lord;
31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

31:2 Though he is wise, and able to send evil, and his purpose will not be changed; but he will go against the house of the evil-doers, and against those to whom they are looking for help.
31:2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

31:3 For the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses are flesh, and not spirit: and when the Lord's hand is stretched out, the helper and he who is helped will come down together.
31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

31:4 For the Lord has said to me, As a lion, or a young lion, makes an angry noise over his food, and if a band of herdsmen come out against him, he will not be in fear of their voices, or give up his food for their noise: so the Lord of armies will come down to make war against Mount Zion and its hill.
31:4 For thus has the LORD spoken unto me, Like the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor bring low himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

31:5 »õ°¡ ³¯°³Ä¡¸ç ±× »õ³¢¸¦ º¸È£ÇÔ °°ÀÌ ³ª ¸¸±ºÀÇ ¿©È£¿Í°¡ ¿¹·ç»ì·½À» º¸È£ÇÒ °ÍÀ̶ó ±×°ÍÀ» È£À§ÇÏ¸ç °ÇÁö¸ç ³Ñ¾î¿Í¼­ ±¸¿øÇϸ®¶ó Çϼ̳ª´Ï
31:5 Like birds with outstretched wings, so will the Lord of armies be a cover to Jerusalem; he will be a cover and salvation for it, going over it he will keep it from danger.
31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

31:6 À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õµé¾Æ ³ÊÈñ´Â ½ÉÈ÷ °Å¿ªÇÏ´ø ÀÚ¿¡°Ô·Î µ¹¾Æ¿À¶ó
31:6 Come back to him who has been so deeply sinned against by the children of Israel.
31:6 Turn all of you unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

31:7 ³ÊÈñ°¡ Àڱ⠼ÕÀ¸·Î ¸¸µé¾î ¹üÁËÇÑ Àº ¿ì»ó, ±Ý ¿ì»óÀ» ±× ³¯¿¡´Â °¢ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ´øÁ® ¹ö¸± °ÍÀ̸ç
31:7 For in that day they will all give up their images of silver and of gold, the sin which they made for themselves.
31:7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

31:8 ¾Ñ¼ö¸£´Â Ä®¿¡ ¾þµå·¯Áú °ÍÀ̳ª »ç¶÷ÀÇ Ä®·Î ¸»¹Ì¾ÏÀ½ÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï°Ú°í Ä®¿¡ »ïÅ°¿ï °ÍÀ̳ª ¿©·¯ »ç¶÷ÀÇ Ä®·Î ¸»¹Ì¾ÏÀ½ÀÌ ¾Æ´Ò °ÍÀÌ¸ç ±×´Â Ä® ¾Õ¿¡¼­ µµ¸ÁÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¿ä ±× ÀåÁ¤µéÀº º¹¿ªÇÏ´Â ÀÚ°¡ µÉ °ÍÀ̶ó
31:8 Then the Assyrian will come down by the sword, but not of man; the sword, not of men, will be the cause of his destruction: and he will go in flight from the sword, and his young men will be put to forced work.
31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be humiliated.

31:9 ±×ÀÇ ¹Ý¼®Àº µÎ·Á¿òÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿© ¹°·¯°¡°Ú°í ±×ÀÇ ¹æ¹éµéÀº ±âÈ£¸¦ ÀÎÇÏ¿© ³î¶ó¸®¶ó ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ¶ó ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ºÒÀº ½Ã¿Â¿¡ ÀÖ°í ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ Ç®¹«´Â ¿¹·ç»ì·½¿¡ ÀÖ´À´Ï¶ó
31:9 And his rock will come to nothing because of fear, and his chiefs will go in flight from the flag, says the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and his altar in Jerusalem.
31:9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the explicit sign, says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

32:1 º¸¶ó ÀåÂ÷ ÇÑ ¿ÕÀÌ ÀÇ·Î ÅëÄ¡ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¿ä ¹æ¹éµéÀÌ °øÆòÀ¸·Î Á¤»çÇÒ °ÍÀ̸ç
32:1 See, a king will be ruling in righteousness, and chiefs will give right decisions.
32:1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

32:2 ¶Ç ±× »ç¶÷Àº ±¤Ç³À» ÇÇÇÏ´Â °÷, Æø¿ì¸¦ °¡¸®¿ì´Â °÷ °°À» °ÍÀÌ¸ç ¸¶¸¥ ¶¥¿¡ ³Á¹° °°À» °ÍÀÌ¸ç °ïºñÇÑ ¶¥¿¡ Å« ¹ÙÀ§ ±×´Ã °°À¸¸®´Ï
32:2 And a man will be as a safe place from the wind, and a cover from the storm; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a waste land.
32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

32:3 º¸´Â ÀÚÀÇ ´«ÀÌ °¨±âÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¿ä µè´Â ÀÚÀÇ ±Í°¡ ±â¿ï¾îÁú °ÍÀ̸ç
32:3 And the eyes of those who see will not be shut, and those who have hearing will give ear to the word.
32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

32:4 Á¶±ÞÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ¸¶À½ÀÌ Áö½ÄÀ» ±ú´Ý°í ¾î´­ÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ Çô°¡ ¹ÎøÇÏ¿© ¸»À» ºÐ¸íÈ÷ ÇÒ °ÍÀ̶ó
32:4 The man of sudden impulses will become wise in heart, and he whose tongue is slow will get the power of talking clearly.
32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

32:5 ¾î¸®¼®Àº ÀÚ¸¦ ´Ù½Ã Á¸±ÍÇϴ٠ĪÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°Ú°í ±ËÈáÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ ´Ù½Ã Á¤´ëÇÏ´Ù ¸»ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®´Ï
32:5 The foolish man will no longer be named noble, and they will not say of the false man that he is a man of honour.
32:5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

32:6 ÀÌ´Â ¾î¸®¼®Àº ÀÚ´Â ¾î¸®¼®Àº °ÍÀ» ¸»ÇÏ¸ç ±× ¸¶À½¿¡ ºÒÀǸ¦ Ç°¾î °£»ç¸¦ ÇàÇϸç ÆпªÇÑ ¸»·Î ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °Å½º¸®¸ç ÁÖ¸° ÀÚÀÇ ½É·ÉÀ» ºñ°Ô ÇÏ¸ç ¸ñ¸¶¸¥ ÀÚÀÇ ¸¶½Ã´Â °ÍÀ» ¾ø¾îÁö°Ô ÇÔÀ̸ç
32:6 For the foolish man will say foolish things, having evil thoughts in his heart, working what is unclean, and talking falsely about the Lord, to keep food from him who is in need of it, and water from him whose soul is desiring it.
32:6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

32:7 ±ËÈáÇÑ ÀÚ´Â ±× ±×¸©ÀÌ ¾ÇÇÏ¿© ¾ÇÇÑ °èȹÀ» º£Ç®¾î °ÅÁþ¸»·Î °¡·ÃÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ ¸êÇÏ¸ç ºóÇÌÇÑ ÀÚ°¡ ¸»À» ¹Ù¸£°Ô ÇÒÁö¶óµµ ±×¸®ÇÔÀ̾î´Ï¿Í
32:7 The designs of the false are evil, purposing the destruction of the poor man by false words, even when he is in the right.
32:7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

32:8 °í¸íÇÑ ÀÚ´Â °í¸íÇÑ ÀÏÀ» µµ¸ðÇϳª´Ï ±×´Â Ç×»ó °í¸íÇÑ ÀÏ¿¡ ¼­¸®¶ó
32:8 But the noble-hearted man has noble purposes, and by these he will be guided.
32:8 But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

32:9 ¡Û ³ÊÈñ ¾ÈÀÏÇÑ ºÎ³àµé¾Æ ÀϾ ³» ¸ñ¼Ò¸®¸¦ µéÀ»Áö¾î´Ù ³ÊÈñ ¿°·Á ¾ø´Â µþµé¾Æ ³» ¸»¿¡ ±Í¸¦ ±â¿ïÀÏÁö¾î´Ù
32:9 Give ear to my voice, you women who are living in comfort; give attention to my words, you daughters who have no fear of danger.
32:9 Rise up, all of you women that are at ease; hear my voice, all of you careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

32:10 ³ÊÈñ ¿°·Á ¾ø´Â ¿©ÀÚµé¾Æ ÀÏ ³â ³²ÁþÀÌ Áö³ª¸é ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´çȲÇÏ¿© Çϸ®´Ï Æ÷µµ ¼öÈ®ÀÌ ¾øÀ¸¸ç ¿­¸Å °ÅµÎ´Â ±âÇÑÀÌ À̸£Áö ¾ÊÀ» °ÍÀÓÀ̴϶ó
32:10 In not much more than a year, you, who are not looking for evil, will be troubled: for the produce of the vine-gardens will be cut off, and there will be no getting in of the grapes.
32:10 Many days and years shall all of you be troubled, all of you careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

32:11 ³ÊÈñ ¾ÈÀÏÇÑ ¿©ÀÚµé¾Æ ¶³Áö¾î´Ù ³ÊÈñ ¿°·Á ¾ø´Â ÀÚµé¾Æ ´çȲÇÏ¿© ÇÒÁö¾î´Ù ¿ÊÀ» ¹þ¾î ¸öÀ» µå·¯³»°í º£·Î Ç㸮¸¦ µ¿ÀÏÁö¾î´Ù
32:11 Be shaking with fear, you women who are living in comfort; be troubled, you who have no fear of danger: take off your robes and put on clothing of grief.
32:11 Tremble, all of you women that are at ease; be troubled, all of you careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

32:12 ÁÁÀº ¹çÀ» À§ÇÏ¸ç ¿­¸Å ¸¹Àº Æ÷µµ³ª¹«¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© °¡½¿À» Ä¡°Ô µÉ °ÍÀ̴϶ó
32:12 Have sorrow for the fields, the pleasing fields, the fertile vine;
32:12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

32:13 Çü±Ø°ú Áú·Á°¡ ³» ¹é¼ºÀÇ ¶¥¿¡ ³ª¸ç Èñ¶ôÀÇ ¼ºÀ¾, ±â»µÇÏ´Â ¸ðµç Áý¿¡ ³ª¸®´Ï
32:13 And for the land of my people, where thorns will come up; even for all the houses of joy in the glad town.
32:13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

32:14 ´ëÀú ±ÃÀüÀÌ ÆóÇÑ ¹Ù µÇ¸ç Àα¸ ¸¹´ø ¼ºÀ¾ÀÌ Àû¸·ÇÏ¸ç »ê°ú ¸Á´ë°¡ ¿µ¿µÈ÷ ±¼Ç÷ÀÌ µÇ¸ç µé³ª±ÍÀÇ Áñ°ÜÇÏ´Â °÷°ú ¾ç ¶¼ÀÇ Ç® ¸Ô´Â °÷ÀÌ µÉ °ÍÀÓÀ̾î´Ï¿Í
32:14 For the fair houses will have no man living in them; the town which was full of noise will become a waste; the hill and the watchtower will be unpeopled for ever, a joy for the asses of the woods, a place of food for the flocks;
32:14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

32:15 ÇÊ°æÀº À§¿¡¼­ºÎÅÍ ¼º½ÅÀ» ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ºÎ¾î Áֽø®´Ï ±¤¾ß°¡ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¹çÀÌ µÇ¸ç ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¹çÀ» »ï¸²À¸·Î ¿©±â°Ô µÇ¸®¶ó
32:15 Till the spirit comes on us from on high, and the waste land becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field is changed into a wood.
32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

32:16 ¡Û ±× ¶§¿¡ °øÆòÀÌ ±¤¾ß¿¡ °ÅÇϸç ÀÇ°¡ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¹ç¿¡ ÀÖÀ¸¸®´Ï
32:16 Then in the waste land there will be an upright rule, and righteousness will have its place in the fertile field.
32:16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

32:17 ÀÇÀÇ °øÈ¿´Â È­ÆòÀÌ¿ä ÀÇÀÇ °á°ú´Â ¿µ¿øÇÑ Æò¾È°ú ¾ÈÀüÀ̶ó
32:17 And the work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of an upright rule will be to take away fear for ever.
32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

32:18 ³» ¹é¼ºÀÌ È­ÆòÇÑ Áý°ú ¾ÈÀüÇÑ °Åó¿Í Á¾¿ëÈ÷ ½¬´Â °÷¿¡ ÀÖÀ¸·Á´Ï¿Í
32:18 And my people will be living in peace, in houses where there is no fear, and in quiet resting-places.
32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

32:19 ¸ÕÀú ±× »ï¸²Àº ¿ì¹Ú¿¡ »óÇÏ°í ¼ºÀ¾Àº Æı«µÇ¸®¶ó
32:19 But the tall trees will come down with a great fall, and the town will be low in a low place.
32:19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

32:20 ¸ðµç ¹° °¡¿¡ ¾¾¸¦ »Ñ¸®°í ¼Ò¿Í ³ª±Í¸¦ ±×¸®·Î ¸ð´Â ³ÊÈñ´Â º¹ÀÌ ÀÖ´À´Ï¶ó
32:20 Happy are you who are planting seed by all the waters, and sending out the ox and the ass.
32:20 Blessed are all of you that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.

33:1 È­ ÀÖÀ»ÁøÀú ³Ê Çд븦 ´çÄ¡ ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°íµµ ÇдëÇÏ¸ç ¼ÓÀÓÀ» ÀÔÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°íµµ ¼ÓÀÌ´Â ÀÚ¿© ³×°¡ ÇдëÇϱ⸦ ¸¶Ä¡¸é ³×°¡ Çд븦 ´çÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¸ç ³×°¡ ¼ÓÀ̱⸦ ±×Ä¡¸é »ç¶÷ÀÌ ³Ê¸¦ ¼ÓÀ̸®¶ó
33:1 Ho! you who make waste those who did not make you waste; acting falsely to those who were not false to you. When you have come to an end of wasting, you will be made waste, and after your false acts, they will do the same to you.
33:1 Woe to you that spoil, and you were not spoiled; and deal treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with you! when you shall cease to spoil, you shall be spoiled; and when you shall make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with you.

33:2 ¿©È£¿Í¿© ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÀºÇý¸¦ º£Çª¼Ò¼­ ¿ì¸®°¡ ÁÖ¸¦ ¾Ó¸ÁÇÏ¿À´Ï ÁÖ´Â ¾Æħ¸¶´Ù ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÆÈÀÌ µÇ½Ã¸ç ȯ³­ ¶§¿¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ±¸¿øÀÌ µÇ¼Ò¼­
33:2 O Lord, have mercy on us; for we have been waiting for your help: be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of trouble.
33:2 O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for you: be you their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

33:3 Áøµ¿½ÃÅ°½Ã´Â ¼Ò¸®·Î ÀÎÇÏ¿© ¹ÎÁ·µéÀÌ µµ¸ÁÇϸç ÁÖ²²¼­ ÀϾ½Ã¹Ç·Î ÀÎÇÏ¿© ¿­¹æÀÌ Èð¾îÁ³³ªÀÌ´Ù
33:3 At the loud noise the peoples have gone in flight; at your coming up the nations have gone in all directions.
33:3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of yourself the nations were scattered.

33:4 ȲÃæÀÇ ¸ðÀÓ °°ÀÌ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ³ÊÈñ ³ë·«¹°À» ¸ðÀ» °ÍÀÌ¸ç ¸Þ¶Ñ±âÀÇ ¶Ù¾î ¿À¸§ °°ÀÌ ±×µéÀÌ ±× À§·Î ¶Ù¾î ¿À¸£¸®¶ó
33:4 And the goods taken in war will be got together like the massing of young locusts; men will be rushing on them like the rushing of locusts.
33:4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running back and forth of locusts shall he run upon them.

33:5 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­´Â ÁöÁ¸ÇÏ½Ã´Ï ÀÌ´Â ³ôÀº µ¥ °ÅÇϽÉÀÌ¿ä °øÆò°ú ÀÇ·Î ½Ã¿Â¿¡ Ã游ÄÉ ÇϽÉÀ̶ó
33:5 The Lord is lifted up; his place is on high: he has made Zion full of righteousness and true religion.
33:5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwells on high: he has filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

33:6 ³ÊÀÇ ½Ã´ë¿¡ Æò¾ÈÇÔÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸ç ±¸¿ø°ú ÁöÇý¿Í Áö½ÄÀÌ Ç³¼ºÇÒ °ÍÀÌ´Ï ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °æ¿ÜÇÔÀÌ ³ÊÀÇ º¸¹è´Ï¶ó
33:6 And she will have no more fear of change, being full of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of the Lord is her wealth.
33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

33:8 The highways are waste, no man is journeying there: the agreement is broken, he has made sport of the towns, he has no thought for man.
33:8 The highways lie waste, the travelling man ceases: he has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, he regards no man.

33:9 The earth is sorrowing and wasting away; Lebanon is put to shame and has become waste; Sharon is like the Arabah; and in Bashan and Carmel the leaves are falling.
33:9 The earth mourns and languishes: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

33:14 The sinners in Zion are full of fear; the haters of God are shaking with wonder. Who among us may keep his place before the burning fire? who among us may see the eternal burnings?
33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

33:15 He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppressions, that shakes his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;

33:20 Let your eyes be resting on Zion, the town of our holy feasts: you will see Jerusalem, a quiet resting-place, a tent which will not be moved, whose tent-pins will never be pulled up, and whose cords will never be broken.
33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: yours eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

34:1 Come near, you nations, and give ear; take note, you peoples: let the earth and everything in it give ear; the world and all those living in it.
34:1 Come near, all of you nations, to hear; and hearken, all of you people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come out of it.

34:2 For the Lord is angry with all the nations, and his wrath is burning against all their armies: he has put them to the curse, he has given them to destruction.
34:2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he has utterly destroyed them, he has delivered them to the slaughter.

34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

34:5 For my sword in heaven is full of wrath: see, it is coming down on Edom, in punishment on the people of my curse.
34:5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

34:6 The sword of the Lord is full of blood, it is fat with the best of the meat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the best parts of the sheep: for the Lord has a feast in Bozrah, and much cattle will be put to death in the land of Edom.
34:6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

34:7 And the strong oxen will go down to death together with the smaller cattle.
34:7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

34:8 For it is the day of the Lord's punishment, when he gives payment for the wrongs done to Zion.
34:8 For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

34:9 And its streams will be turned into boiling oil, and its dust into burning stone, and all the land will be on fire.
34:9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

34:10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

34:11 But the birds of the waste land will have their place there; it will be a heritage for the bittern and the raven: and it will be measured out with line and weight as a waste land.
34:11 But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.

34:12 The jackals will be there, and her great ones will be gone; they will say, There is no longer a kingdom there, and all her chiefs will have come to an end.
34:12 They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.

34:13 And thorns will come up in her fair houses, and waste plants in her strong towers: and foxes will make their holes there, and it will be a meeting-place for ostriches.
34:13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

34:14 And the beasts of the waste places will come together with the jackals, and the evil spirits will be crying to one another, even the night-spirit will come and make her resting-place there.
34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

34:15 The arrowsnake will make her hole and put her eggs there, and get her young together under her shade: there the hawks will come together by twos.
34:15 There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.

34:16 See what is recorded in the book of the Lord: all these will be there, not one without the other: the mouth of the Lord has given the order, and his spirit has made them come together.
34:16 Seek all of you out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall lack her mate: for my mouth it has commanded, and his spirit it has gathered them.

34:17 And he has given them their heritage, and by his hand it has been measured out to them: it will be theirs for ever, their resting-place from generation to generation.

35:1 The waste land and the dry places will be glad; the lowland will have joy and be full of flowers.
35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

35:2 ¹«¼ºÇÏ°Ô ÇÇ¾î ±â»Û ³ë·¡·Î Áñ°Å¿öÇÏ¸ç ·¹¹Ù³íÀÇ ¿µ±¤°ú °¥¸á°ú »ç·ÐÀÇ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿òÀ» ¾òÀ» °ÍÀ̶ó ±×°ÍµéÀÌ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¿µ±¤ °ð ¿ì¸® Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿òÀ» º¸¸®·Î´Ù
35:2 It will be flowering like the rose; it will be full of delight and songs; the glory of Lebanon will be given to it; the pride of Carmel and Sharon: they will see the glory of the Lord, the power of our God.
35:2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

35:3 ¡Û ³ÊÈñ´Â ¾àÇÑ ¼ÕÀ» °­ÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿© ÁÖ¸ç ¶³¸®´Â ¹«¸­À» ±»°Ô ÇÏ¿© ÁÖ¸ç
35:3 Make strong the feeble hands, give support to the shaking knees.
35:3 Strengthen all of you the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

35:4 Say to those who are full of fear, Be strong and take heart: see, your God will give punishment; the reward of God will come; he himself will come to be your saviour.
35:4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

35:5 Then the eyes of the blind will see, and the ears which are stopped will be open.
35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

35:6 Then will the feeble-footed be jumping like a roe, and the voice which was stopped will be loud in song: for in the waste land streams will be bursting out, and waters in the dry places.
35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

35:7 And the burning sand will become a pool, and the dry earth springs of waters: the fields where the sheep take their food will become wet land, and water-plants will take the place of grass.
35:7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

35:8 And a highway will be there; its name will be, The Holy Way; the unclean and the sinner may not go over it, and those who go on it will not be turned out of the way by the foolish.
35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the travelling men, though fools, shall not go astray therein.

35:9 No lion will be there, or any cruel beast; they will not be seen there; but those for whom the Lord has given a price,
35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

35:10 Even those whom he has made free, will come back again; they will come with songs to Zion; on their heads will be eternal joy; delight and joy will be theirs, and sorrow and sounds of grief will be gone for ever.
35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

36:1 And it came about in the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah that Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came up against all the walled towns of Judah and took them.
36:1 Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them.

36:2 ¾Ñ¼ö¸£ ¿ÕÀÌ ¶ó±â½º¿¡¼­ºÎÅÍ ¶ø»ç°Ô¸¦ ¿¹·ç»ì·½À¸·Î º¸³»µÇ ´ë±ºÀ» °Å´À¸®°í È÷½º±â¾ß ¿Õ¿¡°Ô·Î °¡°Ô ÇϸŠ±×°¡ ¼¼Å¹¾÷ÀÚÀÇ ÅÍÀÇ ´ë·Î À­¸ø ¼öµµ±¸ °ç¿¡ ¼­¸Å
36:2 And the king of Assyria sent the Rab-shakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem to King Hezekiah with a strong force, and he took up his position by the stream of the higher pool, by the highway of the washerman's
36:2 And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto king Hezekiah with a great army. And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the launderer's field.

36:3 Èú±â¾ßÀÇ ¾Æµé ±Ã³» ´ë½Å ¿¤¸®¾Æ±è°ú ¼­±â°ü ¼Á³ª¿Í ¾Æ»ðÀÇ ¾Æµé »ç°ü ¿ä¾Æ°¡ ±×¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ°¡´Ï¶ó
36:3 And there came out to him Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder.
36:3 Then came forth unto him Eliakim, Hilkiah's son, which was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph's son, the recorder.

36:4 ¶ø»ç°Ô°¡ ±×µé¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ÀÌÁ¦ È÷½º±â¾ß¿¡°Ô °íÇ϶ó ´ë¿Õ ¾Ñ¼ö¸£ ¿ÕÀÌ ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ¸»¾¸ÇϽñ⸦ ³×°¡ ÀÇ·ÚÇÏ´Ï ¹«¾ùÀ» ÀÇ·ÚÇÏ´À³Ä
36:4 And the Rab-shakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, These are the words of the great king, the king of Assyria: In what are you placing your hope?
36:4 And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say all of you now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein you trust?

36:5 ³»°¡ ¸»Çϳë´Ï ³×°¡ Á·È÷ ½Î¿ï ¸ð·«°ú ¿ë¸ÍÀÌ ÀÖ³ë¶ó ÇÔÀº ÀÔ¼ú¿¡ ºÙÀº ¸» »ÓÀ̴϶ó ³×°¡ ÀÌÁ¦ ´©±¸¸¦ ÀÇ·ÚÇÏ°í ³ª¸¦ ¹Ý¿ªÇÏ´À³Ä
36:5 You say you have a design and strength for war, but these are only words: now to whom are you looking for support, that you have gone against my authority?
36:5 I say, says you, (but they are but vain words) I have counsel and strength for war: now on whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?

36:6 º¸¶ó ³×°¡ ¾Ö±ÁÀ» ÀÇ·ÚÇϵµ´Ù ±×°ÍÀº »óÇÑ °¥´ë ÁöÆÎÀÌ¿Í ÀϹÝÀ̶ó »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±×°ÍÀ» ÀÇÁöÇÏ¸é ¼Õ¿¡ Âñ·Á µé¾î°¡¸®´Ï ¾Ö±Á ¿Õ ¹Ù·Î´Â ±× ÀÇ·ÚÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ÀÌ¿Í °°À¸´Ï¶ó
36:6 See, you are basing your hope on that broken rod of Egypt, which will go into a man's hand if he makes use of it for a support; for so is Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to all who put their faith in him.
36:6 Lo, you trust in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.

36:7 And if you say to me, Our hope is in the Lord our God; is it not he whose high places and altars Hezekiah has taken away, saying to Judah and Jerusalem that worship may only be given before this altar?
36:7 But if you say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, All of you shall worship before this altar?

36:8 ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ÀÌÁ¦ ûÇϳë´Ï ³» ÁÖ ¾Ñ¼ö¸£ ¿Õ°ú ³»±âÇÏ¶ó ³ª´Â ³×°Ô ¸» ÀÌõ ÇÊÀ» Á־ ³Ê´Â ±× Å» ÀÚ¸¦ ´ÉÈ÷ ³»Áö ¸øÇϸ®¶ó
36:8 And now, take a chance with my master, the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able to put horsemen on them.
36:8 Now therefore give pledges, I pray you, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you be able on your part to set riders upon them.

36:9 How then may you put to shame the least of my master's servants? and you have put your hope in Egypt for war-carriages and horsemen:
36:9 How then will you turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

36:10 And have I now come to send destruction on this land without the Lord's authority? It was the Lord himself who said to me, Go up against this land and make it waste.
36:10 And am I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? the LORD said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

36:11 Then Eliakim and Shebna and Joah said to the Rab-shakeh, Please make use of the Aramaean language in talking to your servants, for we are used to it, and do not make use of the Jews' language in the hearing of the people on the wall.
36:11 Then said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray you, unto your servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not to us in the Jews' language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

36:12 ¶ø»ç°Ô°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³» ÁÖ²²¼­ ÀÌ ÀÏÀ» ³× ÁÖ¿Í ³×°Ô¸¸ ¸»Ç϶ó°í ³ª¸¦ º¸³»½Å °ÍÀÌ³Ä ³ÊÈñ¿Í ÇÔ²² ÀÚ±âÀÇ ´ëº¯À» ¸ÔÀ¸¸ç ÀÚ±âÀÇ ¼Òº¯À» ¸¶½Ç ¼º À§¿¡ ¾ÉÀº »ç¶÷µé¿¡°Ôµµ Ç϶ó°í º¸³»½Å °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï³Ä
36:12 But the Rab-shakeh said, Is it to your master or to you that my master has sent me to say these words? has he not sent me to the men seated on the wall? for they are the people who will be short of food with you when the town is shut in.
36:12 But Rabshakeh said, Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words? has he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

36:13 ¡Û ÀÌ¿¡ ¶ø»ç°Ô°¡ ÀϾ¼­ À¯´Ù ¹æ¾ðÀ¸·Î Å©°Ô ¿ÜÃÄ °¡·ÎµÇ ³ÊÈñ´Â ´ë¿Õ ¾Ñ¼ö¸£ ¿ÕÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µéÀ¸¶ó
36:13 Then the Rab-shakeh got up and said with a loud voice in the Jews' language, Give ear to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria:
36:13 Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and said, Hear all of you the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.

36:14 ¿ÕÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡ ³ÊÈñ´Â È÷½º±â¾ß¿¡°Ô ¹ÌȤµÇÁö ¸»¶ó ±×°¡ ´ÉÈ÷ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ °ÇÁöÁö ¸øÇÒ °ÍÀ̴϶ó
36:14 This is what the king says: Do not be tricked by Hezekiah, for there is no salvation for you in him.
36:14 Thus says the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you.

36:15 And do not let Hezekiah make you put your faith in the Lord, saying, The Lord will certainly keep us safe, and this town will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.
36:15 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

36:16 Do not give ear to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says, Make peace with me, and come out to me; and everyone will be free to take the fruit of his vine and of his fig-tree, and the water of his spring;
36:16 Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus says the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and eat all of you every one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink all of you every one the waters of his own cistern;

36:17 Till I come and take you away to a land like yours, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vine-gardens.

36:18 Give no attention to Hezekiah when he says to you, The Lord will keep us safe. Has any one of the gods of the nations kept his land from falling into the hands of the king of Assyria?
36:18 Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, the LORD will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

36:19 Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim? where are the gods of Samaria? and have they kept Samaria out of my hand?

36:20 Who among all the gods of these countries have kept their country from falling into my hand, to give cause for the thought that the Lord will keep Jerusalem from falling into my hand?
36:20 Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?

36:22 Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothing parted as a sign of grief, and gave him an account of what the Rab-shakeh had said.

37:1 And on hearing it Hezekiah took off his robe and put on haircloth and went into the house of the Lord.
37:1 And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

37:2 And he sent Eliakim, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the chief priests, dressed in haircloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.

37:3 And they said to him, Hezekiah says, This day is a day of trouble and punishment and shame: for the children are ready to come to birth, but there is no strength to give birth to them.
37:3 And they said unto him, Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

37:4 It may be that the Lord your God will give ear to the words of the Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria, his master, has sent to say evil things against the living God, and will make his words come to nothing: so make your prayer for the rest of the people.
37:4 It may be the LORD your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD your God has heard: wherefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.

37:6 And Isaiah said to them, This is what you are to say to your master: The Lord says, Be not troubled by the words which the servants of the king of Assyria have said against me in your hearing.
37:6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall all of you say unto your master, Thus says the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that you have heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

37:7 See, I will put a spirit into him, and bad news will come to his ears, and he will go back to his land; and there I will have him put to death.
37:7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

37:8 So the Rab-shakeh went back, and when he got there the king of Assyria was making war against Libnah: for it had come to his ears that the king of Assyria had gone away from Lachish.
37:8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

37:9 And when news came to him that Tirhakah, king of Ethiopia, had made an attack on him, ... And he sent representatives to Hezekiah, king of Judah, saying,
37:9 And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He has come forth to make war with you. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

37:10 This is what you are to say to Hezekiah, king of Judah: Let not your God, in whom is your faith, give you a false hope, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.
37:10 Thus shall all of you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God, in whom you trust, deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

37:11 No doubt the story has come to your ears of what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, putting them to the curse: and will you be kept safe from their fate?
37:11 Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shall you be delivered?

37:14 And Hezekiah took the letter from the hands of those who had come with it; and after reading it, Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, opening the letter there before the Lord,
37:14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

37:19 And have given their gods to the fire: for they were no gods, but wood and stone, the work of men's hands; so they have given them to destruction.

37:24 You have sent your servants with evil words against the Lord, and have said, With all my war-carriages I have come up to the top of the mountains, to the inmost parts of Lebanon; and its tall cedars will be cut down, and the best trees of its woods: I will come up into his highest places, into his thick woods.
37:24 By your servants have you reproached the Lord, and have said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.

37:26 Has it not come to your ears how I did it long before, purposing it in times long past? Now I have given effect to my design, so that by you strong towns might be turned into masses of broken walls.

37:27 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

37:29 Because your wrath against me and your pride have come to my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my cord in your lips, and I will make you go back by the way you came.

37:30 And this will be the sign to you: you will get your food this year from what comes up of itself, and in the second year from the produce of the same; and in the third year you will put in your seed, and get in the grain, and make vine-gardens, and take of their fruit.
37:30 And this shall be a sign unto you, All of you shall eat this year such as grows of itself; and the second year that which springs of the same: and in the third year sow all of you, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.

37:33 For this cause the Lord says about the king of Assyria, He will not come into this town, or send an arrow against it; he will not come before it with arms, or put up an earthwork against it.
37:33 Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

38:1 In those days Hezekiah was ill and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, The Lord says, Put your house in order; for your death is near.
38:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Set yours house in order: for you shall die, and not live.

38:3 O Lord, keep in mind how I have been true to you with all my heart, and have done what is good in your eyes. And Hezekiah gave way to bitter weeping.
38:3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I plead to you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

38:5 Go to Hezekiah, and say, The Lord, the God of David, your father, says, Your prayer has come to my ears, and I have seen your weeping: see, I will give you fifteen more years of life.
38:5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will add unto your days fifteen years.

38:8 See, I will make the shade which has gone down on the steps of Ahaz with the sun, go back ten steps. So the shade went back the ten steps by which it had gone down.
38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

38:11 I said, I will not see the Lord, even the Lord in the land of the living: I will not see man again or those living in the world.

38:12 My resting-place is pulled up and taken away from me like a herdsman's tent: my life is rolled up like a linen-worker's thread; I am cut off from the cloth on the frame: from day even to night you give me up to pain.
38:12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night will you make an end of me.

38:14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

38:15 What am I to say? seeing that it is he who has done it: all my time of sleeping I am turning from side to side without rest.

38:17 See, in place of peace my soul had bitter sorrow. but you have kept back my soul from the underworld; for you have put all my sins out of your memory.
38:17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but you have in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

38:18 For the underworld is not able to give you praise, death gives you no honour: for those who go down into the underworld there is no hope in your mercy.

39:1 At that time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters with an offering to Hezekiah, because he had news that Hezekiah had been ill, and was well again.

39:2 And Hezekiah was glad at their coming, and let them see all his store of wealth, the silver and the gold and the spices and the oil, and all the house of his arms, and everything there was in his stores: there was nothing in all his house or his kingdom which he did not let them see.

39:6 Truly, the days are coming when everything in your house, and whatever your fathers have put in store till this day, will be taken away to Babylon: all will be gone.

40:2 Say kind words to the heart of Jerusalem, crying out to her that her time of trouble is ended, that her punishment is complete; that she has been rewarded by the Lord's hand twice over for all her sins.
40:2 Speak all of you comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

40:3 The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

40:6 A voice of one saying, Give a cry! And I said, What is my cry to be? All flesh is grass, and all its strength like the flower of the field.

40:7 The grass becomes dry, the flower is dead; because the breath of the Lord goes over it: truly the people is grass.
40:7 The grass withers, the flower fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it: surely the people is grass.

40:8 The grass is dry, the flower is dead; but the word of our God is eternal.

40:9 You who give good news to Zion, get up into the high mountain; you who give good news to Jerusalem, let your voice be strong; let it be sounding without fear; say to the towns of Judah, See, your God!
40:9 O Zion, that bring good tidings, get you up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

40:12 In the hollow of whose hand have the waters been measured? and who is able to take the heavens in his stretched-out fingers? who has got together the dust of the earth in a measure? who has taken the weight of the mountains, or put the hills into the scales?
40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

40:21 Have you no knowledge of it? has it not come to your ears? has not news of it been given to you from the first? has it not been clear to you from the time when the earth was placed on its base?
40:21 Have all of you not known? have all of you not heard? has it not been told you from the beginning? have all of you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

40:28 Have you no knowledge of it? has it not come to your ears? The eternal God, the Lord, the Maker of the ends of the earth, is never feeble or tired; there is no searching out of his wisdom.
40:28 Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

40:31 But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness.
40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
