1:1 여호수아가 죽은 후에 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 묻자와 가로되 우리 중 누가
먼저 올라가서 가나안 사람과 싸우리이까
1:1 Now after the death of Joshua, the children of Israel made request to the Lord,
saying, Who is to go up first to make war for us against the Canaanites?
1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel
asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first,
to fight against them?
1:2 여호와께서 가라사대 유다가 올라갈지니라 보라 내가 이 땅을 그 손에 붙였노라
하시니라
1:2 And the Lord said, Judah is to go up: see, I have given the land into his hands.
1:2 And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land
into his hand.
1:3 유다가 그 형제 시므온에게 이르되 나의 제비 뽑아 얻은 땅에 나와 함께 올라가서
가나안 사람과 싸우자 그리하면 나도 너의 제비 뽑아 얻은 땅에 함께 가리라 이에
시므온이 그와 함께 가니라
1:3 Then Judah said to Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my heritage, so that
we may make war against the Canaanites; and I will then go with you into your heritage.
So Simeon went with him.
1:3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot,
that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into
your lot. So Simeon went with him.
1:4 유다가 올라가매 여호와께서 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람을 그들의 손에 붙이신지라
그들이 베섹에서 일만 명을 죽이고
1:4 And Judah went up; and the Lord gave the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their
hands; and they overcame ten thousand of them in Bezek.
1:4 And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites
into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
1:5 또 베섹에서 아도니 베섹을 만나서 그와 싸워 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람을
죽이니
1:5 And they came across Adoni-zedek, and made war on him; and they overcame the Canaanites
and the Perizzites.
1:5 And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and
they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
1:6 아도니 베섹이 도망하는지라 그를 쫓아가서 잡아 그 수족의 엄지가락을 끊으매
1:6 But Adoni-zedek went in flight; and they went after him and overtook him, and had
his thumbs and his great toes cut off.
1:6 But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and
cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
1:7 아도니 베섹이 가로되 옛적에 칠십 왕이 그 수족의 엄지가락을 찍히고 내
상 아래서 먹을 것을 줍더니 하나님이 나의 행한 대로 내게 갚으심이로다 하니라
무리가 그를 끌고 예루살렘에 이르렀더니 그가 거기서 죽었더라
1:7 And Adoni-zedek said, Seventy kings, whose thumbs and great toes had been cut off,
got broken meat under my table: as I have done, so has God done to me in full. And
they took him to Jerusalem, and he came to his end there.
1:7 And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and
their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I have done,
so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
1:8 ○ 유다 자손이 예루살렘을 쳐서 취하여 칼날로 치고 성을 불살랐으며
1:8 Then the children of Judah made an attack on Jerusalem, and took it, burning down
the town after they had put its people to the sword without mercy.
1:8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken
it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
1:9 그 후에 유다 자손이 내려가서 산지와 남방과 평지에 거한 가나안 사람과
싸웠고
1:9 After that the children of Judah went down to make war on the Canaanites living
in the hill-country and in the south and in the lowlands.
1:9 And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites,
that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.
1:10 유다가 또 가서 헤브론에 거한 가나안 사람을 쳐서 세새와 아히만과 달매를
죽였더라 헤브론의 본 이름은 기럇 아르바이었더라
1:10 And Caleb went against the Canaanites of Hebron: (now in earlier times Hebron was
named Kiriath-arba:) and he put Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai to the sword.
1:10 And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the
name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and
Talmai.
1:11 ○ 거기서 나아가서 드빌의 거민들을 쳤으니 드빌의 본 이름은 기럇세벨이라
1:11 And from there he went up against the people of Debir. (Now the name of Debir in
earlier times was Kiriath-sepher.)
1:11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name
of Debir before was Kirjathsepher:
1:12 갈렙이 말하기를 기럇세벨을 쳐서 그것을 취하는 자에게는 내 딸 악사를
아내로 주리라 하였더니
1:12 And Caleb said, I will give Achsah, my daughter, as wife to the man who overcomes
Kiriath-sepher and takes it.
1:12 And Caleb said, He that strikes Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him
will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
1:13 갈렙의 아우요 그나스의 아들인 옷니엘이 그것을 취한 고로 갈렙이 그 딸
악사를 그에게 아내로 주었더라
1:13 And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it; so he gave him
his daughter Achsah for his wife.
1:13 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and
he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
1:14 악사가 출가할 때에 그에게 청하여 자기 아비에게 밭을 구하자 하고 나귀에서
내리매 갈렙이 묻되 네가 무엇을 원하느냐
1:14 Now when she came to him, he put into her mind the idea of requesting a field from
her father: and she got down from her ass; and Caleb said to her, What is it?
1:14 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask
of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto
her, What will you?
1:15 가로되 내게 복을 주소서 아버지께서 나를 남방으로 보내시니 샘물도 내게
주소서 하매 갈렙이 윗샘과 아랫샘을 그에게 주었더라
1:15 And she said to him, Give me a blessing; because you have put me in a dry south-land,
now give me springs of water. So Caleb gave her the higher spring and the lower
spring.
1:15 And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for you have given me a south
land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and
the nether springs.
1:16 ○ 모세의 장인은 겐 사람이라 그 자손이 유다 자손과 함께 종려나무 성읍에서
올라가서 아랏 남방의 유다 황무지에 이르러 그 백성 중에 거하니라
1:16 Now Hobab the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, had come up out of the town of palm-trees,
with the children of Judah, into the waste land of Arad; and he went and was living
among the Amalekites;
1:16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of
the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah,
which lies in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
1:17 유다가 그 형제 시므온과 함께 가서 스밧에 거한 가나안 사람을 쳐서 그
곳을
진멸하였으므로 그 성읍 이름을 호르마라 하니라
1:17 And Judah went with Simeon, his brother, and overcame the Canaanites living in Zephath,
and put it under the curse; and he gave the town the name of Hormah.
1:17 And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites
that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was
called Hormah.
1:18 유다가 또 가사와 그 경내와 아스글론과 그 경내와 에그론과 그 경내를 취하였고
1:18 Then Judah took Gaza and its limit, and Ashkelon and its limit, and Ekron and its
limit.
1:18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast
thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.
1:19 여호와께서 유다와 함께 하신 고로 그가 산지 거민을 쫓아내었으나 골짜기의
거민들은 철 병거가 있으므로 그들을 쫓아내지 못하였으며
1:19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he took the hill-country for his heritage; but
he was unable to make the people of the valley go out, for they had war-carriages
of iron.
1:19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the
mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they
had chariots of iron.
1:20 무리가 모세의 명한 대로 헤브론을 갈렙에게 주었더니 그가 거기서 아낙의
세 아들을 쫓아내었고
1:20 And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said; and he took the land of the three
sons of Anak, driving them out from there.
1:20 And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence
the three sons of Anak.
1:21 베냐민 자손은 예루살렘에 거한 여부스 사람을 쫓아내지 못하였으므로 여부스
사람이 베냐민 자손과 함께 오늘날까지 예루살렘에 거하더라
1:21 And the children of Judah did not make the Jebusites who were living in Jerusalem
go out; the Jebusites are still living with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem.
1:21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited
Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem
unto this day.
1:22 ○ 요셉 족속도 벧엘을 치러 올라가니 여호와께서 그와 함께 하시니라
1:22 And the family of Joseph went up against Beth-el, and the Lord was with them.
1:22 And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD
was with them.
1:23 요셉 족속이 벧엘을 정탐케 하였는데 그 성읍의 본 이름은 루스라
1:23 So they sent men to make a search round Beth-el. (Now the name of the town in earlier
times was Luz.)
1:23 And the house of Joseph sent to search out Bethel. (Now the name of
the city before was Luz.)
1:24 탐정이 그 성읍에서 한 사람의 나오는 것을 보고 그에게 이르되 청하노니
이 성읍의 입구를 우리에게 가르치라 그리하면 너를 선대하리라 하매
1:24 And the watchers saw a man coming out of the town, and said to him, If you will
make clear to us the way into the town, we will be kind to you.
1:24 And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto
him, Show us, we pray you, the entrance into the city, and we will show you
mercy.
1:25 그 사람이 성읍의 입구를 가르친지라 이에 칼날로 그 성읍을 쳤으되 오직
그 사람과 그 가족을 놓아 보내매
1:25 So he made clear to them the way into the town, and they put it to the sword; but
they let the man and all his family get away safe.
1:25 And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they stroke the
city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.
1:26 그 사람이 헷 사람의 땅에 가서 성읍을 건축하고 그 이름을 루스라 하였더니
오늘날까지 그 곳의 이름이더라
1:26 And he went into the land of the Hittites, building a town there and naming it Luz:
which is its name to this day.
1:26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and
called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day.
1:27 ○ 므낫세가 벧스안과 그 향리의 거민과 다아낙과 그 향리의 거민과 돌과
그 향리의 거민과 이블르암과 그 향리의 거민과 므깃도와 그 향리의 거민들을 쫓아내지
못하매 가나안 사람이 결심하고 그 땅에 거하였더니
1:27 And Manasseh did not take away the land of the people of Beth-shean and its daughter-towns,
or of Taanach and its daughter-towns, or of the people of Dor and its daughter-towns,
or of the people of Ibleam and its daughter-towns, or of the people of Megiddo and
its daughter-towns, driving them out; but the Canaanites would go on living in that
land.
1:27 Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her
towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns,
nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo
and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
1:28 이스라엘이 강성한 후에야 가나안 사람에게 사역을 시켰고 다 쫓아내지 아니하였더라
1:28 And whenever Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to forced work, without
driving them out completely.
1:28 And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites
to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.
1:29 ○ 에브라임이 게셀에 거한 가나안 사람을 쫓아내지 못하매 가나안 사람이
게셀에서 그들 중에 거하였더라
1:29 And Ephraim did not make the Canaanites who were living in Gezer go out; but the
Canaanites went on living in Gezer among them.
1:29 Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but
the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
1:30 ○ 스불론은 기드론 거민과 나할롤 거민을 쫓아내지 못하였으나 가나안 사람이
그들 중에 거하여 사역을 하였더라
1:30 Zebulun did not make the people of Kitron or the people of Nahalol go out; but the
Canaanites went on living among them and were put to forced work.
1:30 Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants
of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.
1:31 ○ 아셀이 악고 거민과 시돈 거민과 알랍과 악십과 헬바와 아빅과 르홉 거민을
쫓아내지 못하고
1:31 And Asher did not take the land of the people of Acco, or Zidon, or Ahlab, or Achzib,
or Helbah, or Aphik, or Rehob, driving them out;
1:31 Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants
of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:
1:32 그 땅 거민 가나안 사람 가운데 거하였으니 이는 쫓아내지 못함이었더라
1:32 But the Asherites went on living among the Canaanites, the people of the land, without
driving them out.
1:32 But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the
land: for they did not drive them out.
1:33 ○ 납달리가 벧세메스 거민과 벧아낫 거민을 쫓아내지 못하고 그 땅 거민
가나안 사람 가운데 거하였으나 벧세메스와 벧아낫 거민들이 그들에게 사역을 하였더라
1:33 Naphtali did not take the land of the people of Beth-shemesh or of Beth-anath, driving
them out; but he was living among the Canaanites in the land; however, the people
of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath were put to forced work.
1:33 Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Bethshemesh, nor the
inhabitants of Bethanath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants
of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Bethshemesh and of Bethanath became
tributaries unto them.
1:34 ○ 아모리 사람이 단 자손을 산지로 쫓아들이고 골짜기에 내려오기를 용납지
아니하고
1:34 And the children of Dan were forced into the hill-country by the Amorites, who would
not let them come down into the valley;
1:34 And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they
would not suffer them to come down to the valley:
1:35 결심하고 헤레스 산과 아얄론과 사알빔에 거하였더니 요셉 족속이 강성하매
아모리 사람이 필경은 사역을 하였으며
1:35 For the Amorites would go on living in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim;
but the children of Joseph became stronger than they, and put them to forced work.
1:35 But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim:
yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries.
1:36 아모리 사람의 지계는 아그랍빔 비탈의 바위부터 그 위였더라
1:36 And the limit of the Edomites went from the slope of Akrabbim from Sela and up.
1:36 And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from
the rock, and upward.
2:1 여호와의 사자가 길갈에서부터 보김에 이르러 가로되 내가 너희로 애굽에서
나오게 하고 인도하여 너희 열조에게 맹세한 땅으로 이끌어 왔으며 또 내가 이르기를
내가 너희에게 세운 언약을 영원히 어기지 아니하리니
2:1 Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, *** I took
you out of Egypt, guiding you into the land which I gave by an oath to your fathers;
and I said, My agreement with you will never be broken by me:
2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made
you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore
unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
2:2 너희는 이 땅 거민과 언약을 세우지 말며 그들의 단을 헐라 하였거늘 너희가
내 목소리를 청종치 아니하였도다 그리함은 어찜이뇨
2:2 And you are to make no agreement with the people of this land; you are to see that
their altars are broken down: but you have not given ear to my voice: what have
you done?
2:2 And all of you shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land;
all of you shall throw down their altars: but all of you have not obeyed my
voice: why have all of you done this?
2:3 그러므로 내가 또 말하기를 내가 그들을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내지 아니하리니
그들이 너희 옆구리에 가시가 될 것이며 그들의 신들이 너희에게 올무가 되리라 하였노라
2:3 And so I have said, I will not send them out from before you; but they will be a
danger to you, and their gods will be a cause of falling to you.
2:3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but
they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto
you.
2:4 여호와의 사자가 이스라엘 모든 자손에게 이 말씀을 이르매 백성이 소리를
높여 운지라
2:4 Now on hearing these words which the angel of the Lord said to all the children
of Israel, the people gave themselves up to loud crying and weeping.
2:4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spoke these words unto
all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
2:5 그러므로 그 곳을 이름하여 보김이라 하니라 무리가 거기서 여호와께 제사를
드렸더라
2:5 And they gave that place the name of Bochim, and made offerings there to the Lord.
2:5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there
unto the LORD.
2:6 ○ 전에 여호수아가 백성을 보내매 이스라엘 자손이 각기 그 기업으로 가서
땅을 차지하였고
2:6 And Joshua let the people go away, and the children of Israel went, every man to
his heritage, to take the land for themselves.
2:6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every
man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
2:7 백성이 여호수아의 사는 날 동안과 여호수아 뒤에 생존한 장로들 곧 여호와께서
이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 모든 큰 일을 본 자의 사는 날 동안에 여호와를 섬겼더라
2:7 And the people were true to the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of
the responsible men who were still living after the death of Joshua, and had seen
all the great work of the Lord which he had done for Israel.
2:7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days
of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the
LORD, that he did for Israel.
2:8 여호와의 종 눈의 아들 여호수아가 일백 십 세에 죽으매
2:8 And death came to Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, he being a hundred
and ten years old.
2:8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred
and ten years old.
2:9 무리가 그의 기업의 경내 에브라임 산지 가아스 산 북 딤낫 헤레스에 장사하였고
2:9 And they put his body in the earth in the land of his heritage in Timnath-heres,
in the hill-country of Ephraim to the north of Mount Gaash.
2:9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres,
in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
2:10 그 세대 사람도 다 그 열조에게로 돌아갔고 그 후에 일어난 다른 세대는
여호와를 알지 못하며 여호와께서 이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 일도 알지 못하였더라
2:10 And in time death overtook all that generation; and another generation came after
them, having no knowledge of the Lord or of the things which he had done for Israel.
2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there
arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works
which he had done for Israel.
2:11 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 바알들을 섬기며
2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord and became servants
to the Baals;
2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served
Baalim:
2:12 애굽 땅에서 그들을 인도하여 내신 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른
신 곧 그 사방에 있는 백성의 신들을 좇아 그들에게 절하여 여호와를 진노하시게
하였으되
2:12 And they gave up the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had taken them out of the
land of Egypt, and went after other gods, the gods of the peoples round about them,
worshipping them and moving the Lord to wrath.
2:12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out
of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that
were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD
to anger.
2:13 곧 그들이 여호와를 버리고 바알과 아스다롯을 섬겼으므로
2:13 And they gave up the Lord, and became the servants of Baal and the Astartes.
2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
2:14 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 노략하는 자의 손에 붙여 그들로 노략을
당케하시며 또 사방 모든 대적의 손에 파시매 그들이 다시는 대적을 당치 못하였으며
2:14 And the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he gave them up into the
hands of those who violently took their property, and into the hands of their haters
all round them, so that they were forced to give way before them.
2:14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them
into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands
of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before
their enemies.
2:15 그들이 어디를 가든지 여호와의 손이 그들에게 재앙을 내리시매 곧 여호와께서
말씀하신 것과 같고 여호와께서 그들에게 맹세하신 것과 같아서 그들의 괴로움이
심하였더라
2:15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord
had taken his oath it would be; and things became very hard for them.
2:15 Anywhere they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil,
as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly
distressed.
2:16 ○ 여호와께서 사사를 세우사 노략하는 자의 손에서 그들을 건져내게 하셨으나
2:16 Then the Lord gave them judges, as their saviours from the hands of those who were
cruel to them.
2:16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of
the hand of those that spoiled them.
2:17 그들이 그 사사도 청종치 아니하고 돌이켜 다른 신들을 음란하듯 좇아 그들에게
절하고 여호와의 명령을 순종하던 그 열조의 행한 길을 속히 치우쳐 떠나서 그와
같이 행치 아니하였더라
2:17 But still they would not give ear to their judges, but went after other gods and
gave them worship; quickly turning from the way in which their fathers had gone,
keeping the orders of the Lord; but they did not do so.
2:17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring
after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of
the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD;
but they did not so.
2:18 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 사사를 세우실 때에는 그 사사와 함께 하셨고
그 사사의 사는 날 동안에는 여호와께서 그들을 대적의 손에서 구원하셨으니 이는
그들이 대적에게 압박과 괴롭게 함을 받아 슬피 부르짖으므로 여호와께서 뜻을 돌이키셨음이어늘
2:18 And whenever the Lord gave them judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and was
their saviour from the hands of their haters all the days of the judge; for the
Lord was moved by their cries of grief because of those who were cruel to them.
2:18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the
judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the
judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them
that oppressed them and vexed them.
2:19 그 사사가 죽은 후에는 그들이 돌이켜 그 열조보다 더욱 패괴하여 다른 신들을
좇아 섬겨 그들에게 절하고 그 행위와 패역한 길을 그치지 아니하였으므로
2:19 But whenever the judge was dead, they went back and did more evil than their fathers,
going after other gods, to be their servants and their worshippers; giving up nothing
of their sins and their hard-hearted ways.
2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and
corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve
them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor
from their stubborn way.
2:20 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하여 이르시되 이 백성이 내가 그 열조와 세운
언약을 어기고 나의 목소리를 청종치 아니하였은즉
2:20 And the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he said, Because this
nation has not been true to my agreement which I made with their fathers, and has
not given ear to my voice;
2:20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because
that this people has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers,
and have not hearkened unto my voice;
2:21 나도 여호수아가 죽을 때에 남겨 둔 열국을 다시는 그들의 앞에서 하나도
쫓아내지 아니하리니
2:21 From now on I will not go on driving out from before them any of the nations which
at the death of Joshua were still living in this land;
2:21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations
which Joshua left when he died:
2:22 이는 이스라엘이 그 열조의 지킨 것 같이 나 여호와의 도를 지켜 행하나 아니하나
그들로 시험하려 함이라 하시니라
2:22 In order to put Israel to the test, and see if they will keep the way of the Lord,
walking in it as their fathers did, or not.
2:22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way
of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
2:23 그 열국을 머물러두사 속히 쫓아내지 아니하시며 여호수아의 손에 붙이지
아니하셨음이 이를 인함이었더라
2:23 So the Lord let those nations go on living in the land, not driving them out quickly,
and did not give them up into the hands of Joshua.
2:23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily;
neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
3:1 여호와께서 가나안 전쟁을 알지 못한 이스라엘을 시험하려 하시며
3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord kept in the land for the purpose of testing
Israel by them, all those who had had no experience of all the wars of Canaan;
3:1 Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them,
even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;
3:2 이스라엘 자손의 세대 중에 아직 전쟁을 알지 못하는 자에게 그것을 가르쳐
알게 하려 하사 남겨 두신 열국은
3:2 Only because of the generations of the children of Israel, for the purpose of teaching
them war--only those who up till then had no experience of it;
3:2 Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach
them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;
3:3 블레셋 다섯 방백과 가나안 모든 사람과 시돈 사람과 바알 헤르몬 산에서부터
하맛 어구까지 레바논 산에 거하는 히위 사람이라
3:3 The five chiefs of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites and the Zidonians and
the Hivites living in Mount Lebanon, from the mountain Baal-hermon as far as Hamath:
3:3 Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the
Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon
unto the entering in of Hamath.
3:4 남겨 두신 이 열국으로 이스라엘을 시험하사 여호와께서 모세로 그들의 열조에게
명하신 명령들을 청종하나 알고자 하셨더라
3:4 For the purpose of testing Israel by them, to see if they would give ear to the
orders of the Lord, which he had given to their fathers by the hand of Moses.
3:4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken
unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand
of Moses.
3:5 이스라엘 자손은 마침내 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 브리스 사람과
히위 사람과 여브스 사람 사이에 거하여
3:5 Now the children of Israel were living among the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites:
3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and
Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:
3:6 그들의 딸들을 취하여 아내를 삼으며 자기 딸들을 그들의 아들에게 주며 또
그들의 신들을 섬겼더라
3:6 And they took as wives the daughters of these nations and gave their daughters to
their sons, and became servants to their gods.
3:6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters
to their sons, and served their gods.
3:7 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와 목전에 악을 행하여 자기들의 하나님 여호와를
잊어버리고 바알들과 아세라들을 섬긴지라
3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and put out of their
minds the Lord their God, and became servants to the Baals and the Astartes.
3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgotten
about the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
3:8 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 그들을 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임의
손에 파셨으므로 이스라엘 자손이 구산 리사다임을 팔 년을 섬겼더니
3:8 So the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he gave them up into the
hands of Cushan-rishathaim, king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel were
his servants for eight years.
3:8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them
into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of
Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.
3:9 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를
세워 구원하게 하시니 그는 곧 갈렙의 아우 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이라
3:9 And when the children of Israel made prayer to the Lord, he gave them a saviour,
Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
3:9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised
up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the
son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
3:10 여호와의 신이 그에게 임하셨으므로 그가 이스라엘 사사가 되어 나가서 싸울
때에 여호와께서 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임을 그 손에 붙이시매 옷니엘의 손이
구산 리사다임을 이기니라
3:10 And the spirit of the Lord came on him and he became judge of Israel, and went out
to war, and the Lord gave up Cushan-rishathaim, king of Mesopotamia, into his hands
and he overcame him.
3:10 And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and
went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia
into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.
3:11 그 땅이 태평한 지 사십 년에 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이 죽었더라
3:11 Then for forty years the land had peace, till the death of Othniel, the son of Kenaz.
3:11 And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
3:12 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하니라 이스라엘 자손이
여호와의 목전에 악을 행하므로 여호와께서 모압 왕 에글론을 강성케 하사 그들을
대적하게 하시매
3:12 Then the children of Israel again did evil in the eyes of the Lord; and the Lord
made Eglon, king of Moab, strong against Israel, because they had done evil in the
Lord's eyes.
3:12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD:
and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they
had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
3:13 에글론이 암몬과 아말렉 자손들을 모아가지고 와서 이스라엘을 쳐서 종려나무
성읍을 점령한지라
3:13 And Eglon got together the people of Ammon and Amalek, and they went and overcame
Israel and took the town of palm-trees.
3:13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went
and stroke Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.
3:14 이에 이스라엘 자손이 모압 왕 에글론을 십 팔 년을 섬기니라
3:14 And the children of Israel were servants to Eglon, king of Moab, for eighteen years.
3:14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
3:15 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를
세우셨으니 그는 곧 베냐민 사람 게라의 아들 왼손잡이 에훗이라 이스라엘 자손이
그를 의탁하여 모압 왕 에글론에게 공물을 바칠 때에
3:15 Then when the children of Israel made prayer to the Lord, he gave them a saviour,
Ehud, the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man; and the children of Israel
sent an offering by him to Eglon, king of Moab.
3:15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised
them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and
by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.
3:16 에훗이 장이 한 규빗 되는 좌우에 날선 칼을 만들어 우편 다리 옷 속에 차고
3:16 So Ehud made himself a two-edged sword, a cubit long, which he put on at his right
side under his robe.
3:16 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and
he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.
3:17 공물을 모압 왕 에글론에게 바쳤는데 에글론은 심히 비둔한 자이었더라
3:17 And he took the offering to Eglon, king of Moab, who was a very fat man.
3:17 And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a
very fat man.
3:18 에훗이 공물 바치기를 마친 후에 공물을 메고 온 자들을 보내고
3:18 And after giving the offering, he sent away the people who had come with the offering.
3:18 And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people
that bare the present.
3:19 자기는 길갈 근처 돌 뜨는 곳에서부터 돌아와서 가로되 왕이여 내가 은밀한
일을 왕에게 고하려 하나이다 왕이 명하여 종용케 하라 하매 모셔 선 자들이 다 물러간지라
3:19 But he himself, turning back from the stone images at Gilgal, said, I have something
to say to you in secret, O king. And he said, Let there be quiet. Then all those
who were waiting before him went out.
3:19 But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and
said, I have a secret errand unto you, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all
that stood by him went out from him.
3:20 에훗이 왕의 앞으로 나아가니 왕은 서늘한 다락방에 홀로 앉아 있는 중이라
에훗이 가로되 내가 하나님의 명을 받들어 왕에게 고할 일이 있나이다 하매 왕이
그 좌석에서 일어나니
3:20 Then Ehud came in to him while he was seated by himself in his summer-house. And
Ehud said, I have a word from God for you. And he got up from his seat.
3:20 And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which
he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto you.
And he arose out of his seat.
3:21 에훗이 왼손으로 우편 다리에서 칼을 빼어 왕의 몸을 찌르매
3:21 And Ehud put out his left hand, and took the sword from his right side, and sent
it into his stomach;
3:21 And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right
thigh, and thrust it into his belly:
3:22 칼자루도 날을 따라 들어가서 그 끝이 등 뒤까지 나갔고 그가 칼을 그 몸에서
빼어내지 아니하였으므로 기름이 칼날에 엉기었더라
3:22 And the hand-part went in after the blade, and the fat was joined up over the blade;
for he did not take the sword out of his stomach. And he went out into the ...
3:22 And the handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon
the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt
came out.
3:23 에훗이 현관에 나와서 다락문들을 닫아 잠그니라
3:23 Then Ehud went out into the covered way, shutting the doors of the summer-house
on him and locking them.
3:23 Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour
upon him, and locked them.
3:24 ○ 에훗이 나간 후에 왕의 신하들이 와서 다락문이 잠겼음을 보고 가로되
왕이 필연 다락방에서 발을 가리우신다 하고
3:24 Now when he had gone, the king's servants came, and saw that the doors of the summer-house
were locked; and they said, It may be that he is in his summer-house for a private
purpose.
3:24 When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold,
the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covers his feet in
his summer chamber.
3:25 그들이 오래 기다려도 왕이 다락문을 열지 아니하는지라 열쇠를 취하여 열고
본즉 자기 주가 이미 죽어 땅에 엎드러졌더라
3:25 And they went on waiting till they were shamed, but the doors were still shut; so
they took the key, and, opening them, saw their lord stretched out dead on the floor.
3:25 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not
the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold,
their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.
3:26 ○ 그들의 기다리는 동안에 에훗이 피하여 돌 뜨는 곳을 지나 스이라로 도망하니라
3:26 But Ehud had got away while they were waiting and had gone past the stone images
and got away to Seirah.
3:26 And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries,
and escaped unto Seirath.
3:27 그가 이르러서는 에브라임 산지에서 나팔을 불매 이스라엘 자손이 산지에서
그를 따라 내려오니 에훗이 앞서 가며
3:27 And when he came there, he had a horn sounded in the hill-country of Ephraim, and
all the children of Israel went down with him from the hill-country, and he at their
head.
3:27 And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the
mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the
mount, and he before them.
3:28 무리에게 이르되 나를 따르라 여호와께서 너희 대적 모압 사람을 너희의
손에 붙이셨느니라 하매 무리가 에훗을 따라 내려가서 모압 맞은편 요단 강 나루를
잡아 지켜 한 사람도 건너지 못하게 하였고
3:28 And he said to them, Come after me; for the Lord has given the Moabites, your haters,
into your hands. So they went down after him and took the crossing-places of Jordan
against Moab, and let no one go across.
3:28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD has delivered your
enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took
the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.
3:29 그 때에 모압 사람 일만 명 가량을 죽였으니 다 역사요 용사라 한 사람도
피하지 못하였더라
3:29 At that time they put about ten thousand men of Moab to the sword, every strong
man and every man of war; not a man got away.
3:29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty,
and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.
3:30 그 날에 모압 사람이 이스라엘의 수하에 항복하매 그 땅이 팔십 년 동안 태평하였더라
3:30 So Moab was broken that day under the hand of Israel. And for eighty years the land
had peace.
3:30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land
had rest fourscore years.
3:31 ○ 에훗의 후에 아낫의 아들 삼갈이 사사로 있어 소 모는 막대기로 블레셋
사람 육백 명을 죽였고 그도 이스라엘을 구원하였더라
3:31 And after him came Shamgar, the son of Anath, who put to death six hundred Philistines
with an ox-stick; and he was another saviour of Israel.
3:31 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines
six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
4:1 에훗의 죽은 후에 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하매
4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the eyes of the Lord when Ehud was
dead.
4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when
Ehud was dead.
4:2 여호와께서 하솔에 도읍한 가나안 왕 야빈의 손에 그들을 파셨는데 그 군대
장관은 이방 하로셋에 거하는 시스라요
4:2 And the Lord gave them up into the hands of Jabin, king of Canaan, who was ruling
in Hazor; the captain of his army was Sisera, who was living in Harosheth of the
Gentiles.
4:2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned
in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of
the Gentiles.
4:3 야빈 왕은 철 병거 구백 승이 있어서 이십 년 동안 이스라엘 자손을 심히 학대한
고로 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖었더라
4:3 Then the children of Israel made prayer to the Lord; for he had nine hundred iron
war-carriages, and for twenty years he was very cruel to the children of Israel.
4:3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred
chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4:4 ○ 그 때에 랍비돗의 아내 여선지 드보라가 이스라엘의 사사가 되었는데
4:4 Now Deborah, a woman prophet, the wife of Lapidoth, was judge of Israel at that
time.
4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at
that time.
4:5 그는 에브라임 산지 라마와 벧엘 사이 드보라의 종려나무 아래 거하였고 이스라엘
자손은 그에게 나아가 재판을 받더라
4:5 (And she had her seat under the palm-tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in
the hill-country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel came up to her to be judged.)
4:5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel
in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
4:6 드보라가 보내어 아비노암의 아들 바락을 납달리 게데스에서 불러다가 그에게
이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 명하지 아니하셨느냐 이르시기를 너는
납달리 자손과 스불론 자손 일만 명을 거느리고 다볼 산으로 가라
4:6 And she sent for Barak, the son of Abinoam, from Kedesh-naphtali, and said to him,
Has not the Lord, the God of Israel, given orders saying, Go and get your force
into line in Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of
Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
4:6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali,
and said unto him, Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and
draw toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children
of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
4:7 내가 야빈의 군대 장관 시스라와 그 병거들과 그 무리를 기손 강으로 이끌어
네게 이르게 하고 그를 네 손에 붙이리라 하셨느니라
4:7 And I will make Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his war-carriages and
his forces, come against you at the river Kishon, where I will give him into your
hands.
4:7 And I will draw unto you to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's
army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into yours
hand.
4:8 바락이 그에게 이르되 당신이 나와 함께 가면 내가 가려니와 당신이 나와
함께 가지 아니하면 나는 가지 않겠노라
4:8 And Barak said to her, If you will go with me then I will go; but if you will not
go with me I will not go.
4:8 And Barak said unto her, If you will go with me, then I will go: but
if you will not go with me, then I will not go.
4:9 가로되 내가 반드시 너와 함께 가리라 그러나 네가 이제 가는 일로는 영광을
얻지 못하리니 이는 여호와께서 시스라를 여인의 손에 파실 것임이니라 하고 드보라가
일어나 바락과 함께 게데스로 가니라
4:9 And she said, I will certainly go with you: though you will get no honour in your
undertaking, for the Lord will give Sisera into the hands of a woman. So Deborah
got up and went with Barak to Kedesh.
4:9 And she said, I will surely go with you: notwithstanding the journey
that you take shall not be for yours honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera
into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
4:10 바락이 스불론과 납달리를 게데스로 부르니 일만 인이 그를 따라 올라가고
드보라도 그와 함께 올라가니라
4:10 Then Barak sent for Zebulun and Naphtali to come to Kedesh; and ten thousand men
went up after him, and Deborah went up with him.
4:10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with
ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
4:11 ○ 모세의 장인 호밥의 자손 중 겐 사람 헤벨이 자기 족속을 떠나 게데스에
가까운 사아난님 상수리나무 곁에 이르러 장막을 쳤더라
4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, separating himself from the rest of the Kenites, from the
children of Hobab, the brother-in-law of Moses, had put up his tent as far away
as the oak-tree in Zaanannim, by Kedesh.
4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father
in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent
unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
4:12 ○ 아비노암의 아들 바락이 다볼 산에 오른 것을 혹이 시스라에게 고하매
4:12 And word was given to Sisera that Barak, the son of Abinoam, had gone up to Mount
Tabor.
4:12 And they showed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to
mount Tabor.
4:13 시스라가 모든 병거 곧 철 병거 구백 승과 자기와 함께 있는 온 군사를 이방
하로셋에서부터 기손 강으로 모은지라
4:13 So Sisera got together all his war-carriages, nine hundred war-carriages of iron,
and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles as far as the
river Kishon.
4:13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots
of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles
unto the river of Kishon.
4:14 드보라가 바락에게 이르되 일어나라 이는 여호와께서 시스라를 네 손에 붙이신
날이라 여호와께서 너의 앞서 행하지 아니하시느냐 이에 바락이 일만 명을 거느리고
다볼 산에서 내려가니
4:14 Then Deborah said to Barak, Up! for today the Lord has given Sisera into your hands:
has not the Lord gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor and ten
thousand men after him.
4:14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD
has delivered Sisera into yours hand: is not the LORD gone out before you? So
Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
4:15 여호와께서 바락의 앞에서 시스라와 그 모든 병거와 그 온 군대를 칼날로
쳐서 패하게 하시매 시스라가 병거에서 내려 도보로 도망한지라
4:15 And the Lord sent fear on Sisera and all his war-carriages and all his army before
Barak; and Sisera got down from his war-carriage and went in flight on foot.
4:15 And the LORD humiliated Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host,
with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his
chariot, and fled away on his feet.
4:16 바락이 그 병거들과 군대를 추격하여 이방 하로셋에 이르니 시스라의 온
군대가 다 칼에 엎드러졌고 남은 자가 없었더라
4:16 But Barak went after the war-carriages and the army as far as Harosheth of the Gentiles;
and all Sisera's army was put to the sword; not a man got away.
4:16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth
of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword;
and there was not a man left.
4:17 ○ 시스라가 도보로 도망하여 겐 사람 헤벨의 아내 야엘의 장막에 이르렀으니
하솔 왕 야빈은 겐 사람 헤벨의 집과 화평이 있음이라
4:17 But Sisera went in flight on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite;
for there was peace between Jabin, king of Hazor, and the family of Heber the Kenite.
4:17 Nevertheless Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife
of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and
the house of Heber the Kenite.
4:18 야엘이 나가 시스라를 영접하며 그에게 말하되 나의 주여 들어오소서 내게로
들어오시고 두려워하지 마소서 하매 그 장막에 들어가니 야엘이 이불로 덮으니라
4:18 And Jael went out to Sisera, and said to him, Come in, my lord, come in to me without
fear. So he went into her tent, and she put a cover over him.
4:18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord,
turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she
covered him with a mantle.
4:19 시스라가 그에게 말하되 청하노니 내게 물을 조금 마시우라 내가 목이 마르도다
하매 젖 부대를 열어 그에게 마시우고 그를 덮으니
4:19 Then he said to her, Give me now a little water, for I have need of a drink. And
opening a skin of milk, she gave him drink, and put the cover over him again.
4:19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray you, a little water to drink;
for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered

4:20 그가 또 가로되 장막 문에 섰다가 만일 사람이 와서 네게 묻기를 여기 어떤
사람이 있느냐 하거든 너는 없다 하라 하고
4:20 And he said to her, Take your place at the door of the tent, and if anyone comes
and says to you, Is there any man here, say, No.
4:20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall
be, when any man does come and enquire of you, and say, Is there any man here?
that you shall say, No.
4:21 그가 곤비하여 깊이 잠든지라 헤벨의 아내 야엘이 장막 말뚝을 취하고 손에
방망이를 들고 그에게로 가만히 가서 말뚝을 그 살쩍에 박으매 말뚝이 꿰뚫고 땅에
박히니 시스라가 기절하여 죽으니라
4:21 Then Jael, Heber's wife, took a tent-pin and a hammer and went up to him quietly,
driving the pin into his head, and it went through his head into the earth, for
he was in a deep sleep from weariness; and so he came to his end.
4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in
her hand, and went softly unto him, and stroke the nail into his temples, and
fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
4:22 바락이 시스라를 따를 때에 야엘이 나가서 그를 맞아 가로되 오라 내가 너의
찾는 사람을 네게 보이리라 바락이 그에게 들어가 보니 시스라가 죽어 누웠고 말뚝은
그 살쩍에 박혔더라
4:22 Then Jael went out, and meeting Barak going after Sisera, said to him, Come, and
I will let you see the man you are searching for. So he came into her tent and saw,
and there was Sisera stretched out dead with the tent-pin in his head.
4:22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and
said unto him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek. And when he
came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
4:23 ○ 이와 같이 이 날에 하나님이 가나안 왕 야빈을 이스라엘 자손 앞에 패하게
하신지라
4:23 So that day God overcame Jabin, king of Canaan, before the children of Israel.
4:23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children
of Israel.
4:24 이스라엘 자손의 손이 가나안 왕 야빈을 점점 더 이기어서 마침내 가나안
왕 야빈을 진멸하였더라
4:24 And the power of the children of Israel went on increasing against Jabin, king of
Canaan, till he was cut off.
4:24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against
Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
5:1 이 날에 드보라와 아비노암의 아들 바락이 노래하여 가로되
5:1 At that time Deborah and Barak, the son of Abinoam, made this song, saying:
5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
5:2 이스라엘의 두령이 그를 영솔하였고 백성이 즐거이 헌신하였으니 여호와를
찬양하라
5:2 Because of the flowing hair of the fighters in Israel, because the people gave themselves
freely, give praise to the Lord.
5:2 Praise all of you the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people
willingly offered themselves.
5:3 너희 왕들아 들으라 방백들아 귀를 기울이라 나 곧 내가 여호와를 노래할
것이요 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다
5:3 Give attention, O kings; give ear, O rulers; I, even I, will make a song to the
Lord; I will make melody to the Lord, the God of Israel.
5:3 Hear, O all of you kings; give ear, O all of you princes; I, even I,
will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
5:4 여호와여 주께서 세일에서부터 나오시고 에돔 들에서부터 진행하실
때에 땅이 진동하고 하늘도 새어서 구름이 물을 내렸나이다
5:4 Lord, when you went out from Seir, moving like an army from the field of Edom, the
earth was shaking and the heavens were troubled, and the clouds were dropping water.
5:4 LORD, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of
Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
5:5 산들이 여호와 앞에서 진동하니 저 시내 산도 이스라엘 하나님 여호와
앞에서 진동하였도다
5:5 The mountains were shaking before the Lord, before the Lord, the God of Israel.
5:5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before
the LORD God of Israel.
5:6 아낫의 아들 삼갈의 날에 또는 야엘의 날에는 대로가 비었고 행인들은
소로로 다녔도다

5:7 이스라엘에 관원이 그치고 그쳤더니 나 드보라가 일어났고 내가 일어나서
이스라엘의 어미가 되었도다
5:7 Country towns were no more in Israel, *** were no more, till you, Deborah, came
up, till you came up as a mother in Israel.
5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until
that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
5:8 무리가 새 신들을 택하였으므로 그 때에 전쟁이 성문에 미쳤으나 이스라엘
사만 명 중에 방패와 창이 보였던고
5:8 They had no one to make arms, there were no more armed men in the towns; was there
a body-cover or a spear to be seen among forty thousand in Israel?
5:8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or
spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
5:9 내 마음이 이스라엘의 방백을 사모함은 그들이 백성 중에서 즐거이
헌신하였음이라 여호와를 찬양하라
5:9 Come, you rulers of Israel, you who gave yourselves freely among the people: give
praise to the Lord.
5:9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly
among the people. Bless all of you the LORD.
5:10 흰 나귀를 탄 자들, 귀한 화문석에 앉은 자들, 길에 행하는 자들아
선파할지어다
5:10 Let them give thought to it, who go on white asses, and those who are walking on
the road.
5:10 Speak, all of you that ride on white asses, all of you that sit in judgment,
and walk by the way.
5:11 활 쏘는 자의 지꺼림에서 멀리 떨어진 물 긷는 곳에서도 여호와의
의로우신 일을 칭술하라 그의 이스라엘을 다스리시는 의로우신 일을 칭술하라 그
때에 여호와의 백성이 성문에 내려갔도다
5:11 Give ear to the women laughing by the water-springs; there they will give again
the story of the upright acts of the Lord, all the upright acts of his arm in Israel.
5:11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing
water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous
acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people
of the LORD go down to the gates.
5:12 깰지어다 깰지어다 드보라여 깰지어다 깰지어다 너는 노래할지어다
일어날지어다 바락이여 아비노암의 아들이여 네 사로잡은 자를 끌고 갈지어다
5:12 Awake! awake! Deborah: awake! awake! give a song: Up! Barak, and take prisoner those
who took you prisoner, O son of Abinoam.
5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and
lead your captivity captive, you son of Abinoam.
5:13 그 때에 남은 귀인과 백성이 내려왔고 여호와께서 나를 위하여 용사를
치시려고 강림하셨도다
5:13 Then the chiefs went down to the doors; the Lord's people went down among the strong
ones.
5:13 Then he made him that remains have dominion over the nobles among the
people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
5:14 에브라임에게서 나온 자는 아말렉에 뿌리 박힌 자요 그 다음에 베냐민은
너희 백성 중에 섞였으며 마길에게서는 다스리는 자들이 내려왔고 스불론에게서는
대장군의 지팡이를 잡은 자가 내려왔도다
5:14 Out of Ephraim they came down into the valley; after you, Benjamin, among your tribesmen;
from Machir came down the captains, and from Zebulun those in whose hand is the
ruler's rod.
5:14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after you, Benjamin,
among your people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they
that handle the pen of the writer.
5:15 잇사갈의 방백들이 드보라와 함께 하니 잇사갈의 심사를 바락도 가졌도다
그 발을 좇아 골짜기로 달려 내려가니 르우벤 시냇가에 큰 결심이 있었도다
5:15 Your chiefs, Issachar, were with Deborah; and Naphtali was true to Barak; into the
valley they went rushing out at his feet. In Reuben there were divisions, and great
searchings of heart.
5:15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also
Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there
were great thoughts of heart.
5:16 네가 양의 우리 가운데 앉아서 목자의 저 부는 소리를 들음은 어찜이뇨
르우벤 시냇가에서 마음에 크게 살핌이 있도다
5:16 Why did you keep quiet among the sheep, hearing nothing but the watchers piping
to the flocks?
5:16 Why abode you among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks?
For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
5:17 길르앗은 요단 저편에 거하거늘 단은 배에 머무름은 어찜이뇨 아셀은
해빈에 앉고 자기 시냇가에 거하도다
5:17 Gilead was living over Jordan; and Dan was waiting in his ships; Asher kept in his
place by the sea's edge, living by his inlets.
5:17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued
on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
5:18 스불론은 죽음을 무릅쓰고 생명을 아끼지 아니한 백성이요 납달리도
들의 높은 곳에서 그러하도다
5:18 It was the people of Zebulun who put their lives in danger, even to death, with
Naphtali on the high places of the field.
5:18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeopardized their lives unto
the death in the high places of the field.
5:19 열왕이 와서 싸울 때에 가나안 열왕이 므깃도 물 가 다아낙에서 싸웠으나
돈을 탈취하지 못하였도다
5:19 The kings came on to the fight, the kings of Canaan were warring; in Taanach by
the waters of Megiddo: they took no profit in money.
5:19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach
by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
5:20 별들이 하늘에서부터 싸우되 그 다니는 길에서 시스라와 싸웠도다
5:20 The stars from heaven were fighting; from their highways they were fighting against
Sisera.
5:20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
5:21 기손 강은 그 무리를 표류시켰으니 이 기손 강은 옛 강이라 내 영혼아
네가 힘 있는 자를 밟았도다
5:21 The river Kishon took them violently away, stopping their flight, the river Kishon.
Give praise, O my soul, to the strength of the Lord!
5:21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon.
O my soul, you have trodden down strength.
5:22 그 때에 군마가 빨리 달리니 말굽 소리는 땅을 울리도다
5:22 Then loudly the feet of the horses were sounding with the stamping, the stamping
of their war-horses.
5:22 Then were the horse-hoofs broken by the means of the prancings, the
prancings of their mighty ones.
5:23 여호와의 사자의 말씀에 메로스를 저주하라 너희가 거듭 거듭 그 거민을
저주할 것은 그들이 와서 여호와를 돕지 아니하며 여호와를 도와 용사를 치지 아니함이니라
하시도다
5:23 A curse, a curse on Meroz! said the angel of the Lord. A bitter curse on her townspeople!
Because they came not to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord among the
strong ones.
5:23 Curse all of you Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse all of you
bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD,
to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
5:24 겐 사람 헤벨의 아내 야엘은 다른 여인보다 복을 받을 것이니 장막에
거한 여인보다 더욱 복을 받을 것이로다
5:24 Blessings be on Jael, more than on all women! Blessings greater than on any in the
tents!
5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed
shall she be above women in the tent.
5:25 시스라가 물을 구하매 우유를 주되 곧 엉긴 젖을 귀한 그릇에 담아
주었고
5:25 His request was for water, she gave him milk; she put butter before him on a fair
plate.
5:25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a
lordly dish.
5:26 손으로 장막 말뚝을 잡으며 오른손에 장인의 방망이를 들고 그 방망이로
시스라를 쳐서 머리를 뚫되 곧 살쩍을 꿰뚫었도다
5:26 She put out her hand to the tent-pin, and her right hand to the workman's hammer;
and she gave Sisera a blow, crushing his head, wounding and driving through his
brow.
5:26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer;
and with the hammer she stroke Sisera, she stroke off his head, when she had
pierced and stricken through his temples.
5:27 그가 그의 발 앞에 꾸부러지며 엎드러지고 쓰러졌고 그의 발 앞에
꾸부러져 엎드러져서 그 꾸부러진 곳에 엎드러져 죽었도다
5:27 Bent at her feet he went down, he was stretched out; bent at her feet he went down;
where he was bent down, there he went down in death.
5:27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he
fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
5:28 시스라의 어미가 창문으로 바라보며 살창에서 부르짖기를 그의 병거가
어찌하여 더디 오는고 그의 병거 바퀴가 어찌하여 더디 구는고 하매
5:28 Looking out from the window she gave a cry, the mother of Sisera was crying out
through the window, Why is his carriage so long in coming? When will the noise of
his wheels be sounding?
5:28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice,
Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
5:29 그 지혜로운 시녀들이 대답하였겠고 그도 스스로 대답하기를
5:29 Her wise women gave answer to her, yes, she made answer again to herself,
5:29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
5:30 그들이 어찌 노략물을 얻지 못하였으랴 그것을 나누지 못하였으랴
사람마다 한두 처녀를 얻었으리로다 시스라는 채색 옷을 노략하였으리니 그것은 수
놓은
채색 옷이리로다 곧 양편에 수 놓은 채색 옷이리니 노략한 자의 목에 꾸미리로다 하였으리라
5:30 Are they not getting, are they not parting the goods among them: a young girl or
two to every man; and to Sisera robes of coloured needlework, worked in fair colours
on this side and on that, for the neck of the queen?
5:30 Have they not succeeded? have they not divided the prey; to every man
a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours
of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks
of them that take the spoil?
5:31 여호와여 주의 대적은 다 이와 같이 망하게 하시고 주를 사랑하는
자는 해가 힘 있게 돋음 같게 하시옵소서
하니라 그 땅이 사십 년 동안 태평하였더라
5:31 So may destruction come on all your haters, O Lord; but let your lovers be like
the sun going out in his strength. And for forty years the land had peace.
5:31 So let all yours enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him
be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
6:1 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하였으므로 여호와께서 칠 년
동안 그들을 미디안의 손에 붙이시니
6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord; and the Lord gave them
up into the hand of Midian for seven years.
6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the
LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
6:2 미디안의 손이 이스라엘을 이긴지라 이스라엘 자손이 미디안을 인하여 산에서
구멍과 굴과 산성을 자기를 위하여 만들었으며
6:2 And Midian was stronger than Israel; and because of the Midianites, the children
of Israel made holes for themselves in the mountains, and hollows in the rocks,
and strong places.
6:2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites
the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves,
and strong holds.
6:3 이스라엘이 파종한 때면 미디안 사람, 아말렉 사람, 동방 사람이 치러 올라와서
6:3 And whenever Israel's grain was planted, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the
people of the east came up against them;
6:3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and
the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
6:4 진을 치고 가사에 이르도록 토지 소산을 멸하여 이스라엘 가운데 식물을 남겨 두지
아니하며 양이나 소나 나귀도 남기지 아니하니
6:4 And put their army in position against them; and they took all the produce of the
earth as far as Gaza, till there was no food in Israel, or any sheep or oxen or
asses.
6:4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth,
till you come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor
ox, nor ass.
6:5 이는 그들이 그 짐승과 장막을 가지고 올라와서 메뚜기떼 같이 들어오니 그
사람과 약대가 무수함이라 그들이 그 땅에 들어와 멸하려 하니
6:5 For they came up regularly with their oxen and their tents; they came like the locusts
in number; they and their camels were without number; and they came into the land
for its destruction.
6:5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as
grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number:
and they entered into the land to destroy it.
6:6 이스라엘이 미디안을 인하여 미약함이 심한지라 이에 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께
부르짖었더라
6:6 And Israel was in great need because of Midian; and the cry of the children of Israel
went up to the Lord.
6:6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the
children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
6:7 ○ 이스라엘 자손이 미디안을 인하여 여호와께 부르짖은 고로
6:7 And when the cry of the children of Israel, because of Midian, came before the Lord,
6:7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD
because of the Midianites,
6:8 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손에게 한 선지자를 보내사 그들에게 이르되 이스라엘
하나님 여호와의 말씀에 내가 너희를 애굽에서 인도하여 내며 너희를 그 종 되었던
집에서 나오게 하여
6:8 The Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, The Lord the
God of Israel, has said, I took you up from Egypt, out of the prison-house;
6:8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said
unto them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and
brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
6:9 애굽 사람의 손과 너희를 학대하는 모든 자의 손에서 너희를 건져내고 그들을
너희 앞에서 쫓아내고 그 땅을 너희에게 주었으며
6:9 And I took you out of the hands of the Egyptians and out of the hands of all who
were cruel to you, and I sent them out by force from before you and gave you their
land;
6:9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the
hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave
you their land;
6:10 내가 또 너희에게 이르기를 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니 너희의 거하는 아모리
사람의 땅의 신들을 두려워 말라 하였으나 너희가 내 목소리를 청종치 아니하였느니라
하셨다 하니라
6:10 And I said to you, I am the Lord your God; you are not to give worship to the gods
of the Amorites in whose land you are living, but you did not give ear to my voice.
6:10 And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the
Amorites, in whose land all of you dwell: but all of you have not obeyed my
voice.
6:11 ○ 여호와의 사자가 아비에셀 사람 요아스에게 속한 오브라에 이르러 상수리나무
아래 앉으니라 마침 요아스의 아들 기드온이 미디안 사람에게 알리지 아니하려 하여
밀을 포도주 틀에서 타작하더니
6:11 Now the angel of the Lord came and took his seat under the oak-tree in Ophrah, in
the field of Joash the Abiezrite; and his son Gideon was crushing grain in the place
where the grapes were crushed, so that the Midianites might not see it.
6:11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was
in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed
wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
6:12 여호와의 사자가 기드온에게 나타나 이르되 큰 용사여 여호와께서 너와 함께
계시도다
6:12 And the angel of the Lord came before his eyes, and said to him, The Lord is with
you, O man of war.
6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The
LORD is with you, you mighty man of valour.
6:13 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 나의 주여 여호와께서 우리와 함께 계시면 어찌하여
이 모든 일이 우리에게 미쳤나이까 또 우리 열조가 일찍 우리에게 이르기를 여호와께서
우리를 애굽에서 나오게 하신 것이 아니냐 한 그 모든 이적이 어디 있나이까 이제
여호와께서 우리를 버리사 미디안의 손에 붙이셨나이다
6:13 Then Gideon said to him, O my lord, if the Lord is with us why has all this come
on us? And where are all his works of power, of which our fathers have given us
word, saying, Did not the Lord take us out of Egypt? But now he has given us up,
handing us over to the power of Midian.
6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then
is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told
us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD has
forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
6:14 여호와께서 그를 돌아보아 가라사대 너는 이 네 힘을 의지하고 가서 이스라엘을
미디안의 손에서 구원하라 내가 너를 보낸 것이 아니냐
6:14 And the Lord, turning to him, said, Go in the strength you have and be Israel's
saviour from Midian: have I not sent you?
6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this your might, and you
shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent you?
6:15 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 주여 내가 무엇으로 이스라엘을 구원하리이까
보소서 나의 집은 므낫세 중에 극히 약하고 나는 내 아비 집에서 제일 작은 자니이다
6:15 And he said to him, O Lord, how may I be the saviour of Israel? See, my family is
the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold,
my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
6:16 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 내가 반드시 너와 함께 하리니 네가 미디안
사람 치기를 한 사람을 치듯 하리라
6:16 Then the Lord said to him, Truly, I will be with you, and you will overcome the
Midianites as if they were one man.
6:16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall
strike the Midianites as one man.
6:17 기드온이 그에게 대답하되 내가 주께 은혜를 얻었사오면 나와 말씀하신 이가
주 되시는 표징을 내게 보이소서
6:17 So he said to him, If now I have grace in your eyes, then give me a sign that it
is you who are talking to me.
6:17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in your sight, then
show me a sign that you talk with me.
6:18 내가 예물을 가지고 다시 주께로 와서 그것을 주 앞에 드리기까지 이곳을
떠나지 마시기를 원하나이다 그가 가로되 내가 너 돌아오기를 기다리리라
6:18 Do not go away till I come with my offering and put it before you. And he said,
I will not go away before you come back.
6:18 Depart not behind, I pray you, until I come unto you, and bring forth
my present, and set it before you. And he said, I will tarry until you come
again.
6:19 ○ 기드온이 가서 염소 새끼 하나를 준비하고 가루 한 에바로 무교전병을
만들고 고기를 소쿠리에 담고 국을 양푼에 담아서 상수리나무 아래 그에게로 가져다가
드리매
6:19 Then Gideon went in and made ready a young goat, and with an ephah of meal he made
unleavened cakes: he put the meat in a basket and the soup in which it had been
cooked he put in a pot, and he took it out to him under the oak-tree and gave it
to him there.
6:19 And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an
ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot,
and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.
6:20 하나님의 사자가 그에게 이르되 고기와 무교전병을 가져 이 반석 위에 두고
그 위에 국을 쏟으라 기드온이 그대로 하니
6:20 And the angel of God said to him, Take the meat and the unleavened cakes and put
them down on the rock over there, draining out the soup over them. And he did so.
6:20 And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened
cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
6:21 여호와의 사자가 손에 잡은 지팡이 끝을 내밀어 고기와 무교전병에 대매
불이 반석에서 나와 고기와 무교전병을 살랐고 여호와의 사자는 떠나서 보이지 아니한지라
6:21 Then the angel of the Lord put out the stick which was in his hand, touching the
meat and the cakes with the end of it; and a flame came up out of the rock, burning
up the meat and the cakes: and the angel of the Lord was seen no longer.
6:21 Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in
his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up
fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then
the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
6:22 기드온이 그가 여호와의 사자인 줄 알고 가로되 슬프도소이다 주 여호와여
내가 여호와의 사자를 대면하여 보았나이다
6:22 Then Gideon was certain that he was the angel of the Lord; and Gideon said, I am
in fear, O Lord God! for I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face.
6:22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said,
Alas, O LORD God! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.
6:23 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 너는 안심하라 두려워 말라 죽지 아니하리라
하시니라
6:23 But the Lord said to him, Peace be with you; have no fear: you are in no danger
of death.
6:23 And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto you; fear not: you shall not
die.
6:24 기드온이 여호와를 위하여 거기서 단을 쌓고 이름을 여호와살롬이라 하였더라
그것이 오늘까지 아비에셀 사람에게 속한 오브라에 있더라
6:24 Then Gideon made an altar there to the Lord, and gave it the name Yahweh-shalom;
to this day it is in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom:
unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
6:25 ○ 이날 밤에 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 네 아비의 수소 곧 칠 년 된
둘째 수소를 취하고 네 아비에게 있는 바알의 단을 헐며 단 곁의 아세라 상을 찍고
6:25 The same night the Lord said to him, Take ten men of your servants and an ox seven
years old, and after pulling down the altar of Baal which is your father's, and
cutting down the holy tree by its side,
6:25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take
your father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and
throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the grove that
is by it:
6:26 또 이 견고한 성 위에 네 하나님 여호와를 위하여 규례대로 한 단을 쌓고
그 둘째 수소를 취하여 네가 찍은 아세라 나무로 번제를 드릴지니라
6:26 Make an altar to the Lord your God on the top of this rock, in the ordered way and
take the ox and make a burned offering with the wood of the holy tree which has
been cut down.
6:26 And build an altar unto the LORD your God upon the top of this rock,
in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice
with the wood of the grove which you shall cut down.
6:27 이에 기드온이 종 열을 데리고 여호와의 말씀하신 대로 행하되 아비의 가족과
그 성읍 사람들을 두려워하므로 이 일을 감히 백주에 행하지 못하고 밤에 행하니라
6:27 Then Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord had said to him; but fearing
to do it by day, because of his father's people and the men of the town, he did
it by night.
6:27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said
unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men
of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.
6:28 ○ 성읍 사람들이 아침에 일찌기 일어나 본즉 바알의 단이 훼파되었으며
단 곁의 아세라가 찍혔고 새로 쌓은 단 위에 그 둘째 수소를 드렸는지라
6:28 And the men of the town got up early in the morning, and they saw the altar of Baal
broken down, and the holy tree which was by it cut down, and the ox offered on the
altar which had been put up there.
6:28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the
altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and
the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.
6:29 서로 물어 가로되 이것이 누구의 소위인고 하고 그들이 캐어 물은 후에 가로되
요아스의 아들 기드온이 이를 행하였도다 하고
6:29 And they said to one another, Who has done this thing? And after searching with
care, they said, Gideon, the son of Joash, has done this thing.
6:29 And they said one to another, Who has done this thing? And when they
enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.
6:30 성읍 사람들이 요아스에게 이르되 네 아들을 끌어내라 그는 당연히 죽을지니
이는 바알의 단을 훼파하고 단 곁의 아세라를 찍었음이니라
6:30 Then the men of the town said to Joash, Make your son come out to be put to death,
for pulling down the altar of Baal and cutting down the holy tree which was by it.
6:30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out your son, that he
may die: because he has cast down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut
down the grove that was by it.
6:31 요아스가 자기를 둘러선 모든 자에게 이르되 너희가 바알을 위하여 쟁론
하느냐 너희가 바알을 구원하겠느냐 그를 위하여 쟁론하는 자는 이 아침에 죽음을
당하리라 바알이 과연 신일진대 그 단을 훼파하였은즉 스스로 쟁론할 것이니라 하니라
6:31 But Joash said to all those who were attacking him, Will you take up the cause of
Baal? will you be his saviour? Let anyone who will take up his cause be put to death
while it is still morning: if he is a god, let him take up his cause himself because
of the pulling down of his altar.
6:31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will all of you plead
for Baal? will all of you save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put
to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself,
because one has cast down his altar.
6:32 그 날에 기드온을 여룹바알이라 하였으니 이는 그가 바알의 단을 훼파하였은즉
바알이 더불어 쟁론할 것이라 함이었더라
6:32 So that day he gave him the name of Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal take up his cause
against him because his altar has been broken down.
6:32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead
against him, because he has thrown down his altar.
6:33 ○ 때에 미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 동방 사람들이 다 모여 요단을 건너와서
이스르엘 골짜기에 진을 친지라
6:33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the east, banding themselves
together, went over and put up their tents in the valley of Jezreel.
6:33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east
were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
6:34 여호와의 신이 기드온에게 강림하시니 기드온이 나팔을 불매 아비에셀 족속이
다 모여서 그를 좇고
6:34 But the spirit of the Lord came on Gideon; and at the sound of his horn all Abiezer
came together after him.
6:34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet;
and Abiezer was gathered after him.
6:35 기드온이 또 사자를 온 므낫세에 두루 보내매 그들도 모여서 그를 좇고 또
사자를 아셀과 스불론과 납달리에 보내매 그 무리도 올라와서 그를 영접하더라
6:35 And he sent through all Manasseh, and they came after him; and he sent to Asher
and Zebulun and Naphtali, and they came up and were joined to the others.
6:35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered
after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali;
and they came up to meet them.
6:36 ○ 기드온이 하나님께 여짜오되 주께서 이미 말씀하심 같이 내 손으로 이스라엘을
구원하려 하시거든
6:36 Then Gideon said to God, If you are going to give Israel salvation by my hand, as
you have said,
6:36 And Gideon said unto God, If you will save Israel by mine hand, as you
have said,
6:37 보소서 내가 양털 한 뭉치를 타작 마당에 두리니 이슬이 양털에만 있고 사면
땅은 마르면 주께서 이미 말씀하심 같이 내 손으로 이스라엘을 구원하실 줄 내가
알겠나이다 하였더니
6:37 See, I will put the wool of a sheep on the grain-floor; if there is dew on the wool
only, while all the earth is dry, then I will be certain that it is your purpose
to give Israel salvation by my hand as you have said.
6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be
on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know
that you will save Israel by mine hand, as you have said.
6:38 그대로 된지라 이튿날 기드온이 일찌기 일어나서 양털을 취하여 이슬을 짜니
물이 그릇에 가득하더라
6:38 And it was so: for he got up early on the morning after, and twisting the wool in
his hands, he got a basin full of water from the dew on the wool.
6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the next day, and thrust the
fleece together, and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
6:39 기드온이 또 하나님께 여짜오되 주여 내게 진노하지 마옵소서 내가 이번만
말하리이다 구하옵나니 나로 다시 한 번 양털로 시험하게 하소서 양털만 마르고 사면
땅에는 다 이슬이 있게 하옵소서 하였더니
6:39 Then Gideon said to God, Do not be moved to wrath against me if I say only this:
let me make one more test with the wool; let the wool now be dry, while the earth
is covered with dew.
6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not yours anger be hot against me, and
I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray you, but this once with the
fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let
there be dew.
6:40 이 밤에 하나님이 그대로 행하시니 곧 양털만 마르고 사면 땅에는 다 이슬이
있었더라
6:40 And that night God did so; for the wool was dry, and there was dew on all the earth
round it.
6:40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and
there was dew on all the ground.
7:1 여룹바알이라 하는 기드온과 그를 좇은 모든 백성이 일찌기 일어나서 하롯샘
곁에 진 쳤고 미디안의 진은 그들의 북편이요 모레 산 앞 골짜기에 있었더라
7:1 Then Jerubbaal, that is, Gideon, and all the people with him, got up early and put
up their tents by the side of the water-spring of Harod; the tents of Midian were
on the north side of him, under the hill of Moreh in the valley.
7:1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him,
rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the
Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
7:2 ○ 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 너를 좇은 백성이 너무 많은즉 내가 그들의
손에 미디안 사람을 붙이지 아니하리니 이는 이스라엘이 나를 거스려 자긍하기를
내 손이 나를 구원하였다 할까 함이니라
7:2 And the Lord said to Gideon, So great is the number of your people, that if I give
the Midianites into their hands they will be uplifted in pride over me and will
say, I myself have been my saviour.
7:2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with you are too many
for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves
against me, saying, Mine own hand has saved me.
7:3 이제 너는 백성의 귀에 고하여 이르기를 누구든지 두려워서 떠는 자여든 길르앗
산에서
떠나 돌아가라 하라 하시니 이에 돌아간 백성이 이만 이천 명이요 남은 자가 일만
명이었더라
7:3 So now, let it be given out to the people that anyone who is shaking with fear is
to go back from Mount Galud. So twenty-two thousand of the people went back, but
there were still ten thousand.
7:3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever
is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And
there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten
thousand.
7:4 여호와께서 또 기드온에게 이르시되 백성이 아직도 많으니 그들을 인도하여
물 가로 내려가라 거기서 내가 너를 위하여 그들을 시험하리라 무릇 내가 누구를 가리켜
이르기를 이가 너와 함께 가리라 하면 그는 너와 함께 갈 것이요 내가 누구를 가리켜
이르기를 이는 너와 함께 가지 말 것이니라 하면 그는 가지 말 것이니라 하신지라
7:4 Then the Lord said to Gideon, There are still more people than is necessary; take
them down to the water so that I may put them to the test for you there; then whoever
I say is to go with you will go, and whoever I say is not to go will not go.
7:4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them
down unto the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that
of whom I say unto you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you;
and of whomsoever I say unto you, This shall not go with you, the same shall
not go.
7:5 이에 백성을 인도하여 물 가에 내려가매 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 무릇
개의 핥는 것 같이 그 혀로 물을 핥는 자는 너는 따로 세우고 또 무릇 무릎을 꿇고
마시는 자도 그 같이 하라 하시더니
7:5 So he took the people down to the water; and the Lord said to Gideon, Put on one
side by themselves all those drinking up the water with their tongues like a dog;
and in the same way, all those who go down on their knees to the water while drinking.
7:5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto
Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him
shall you set by himself; likewise every one that bows down upon his knees to
drink.
7:6 손으로 움켜 입에 대고 핥는 자의 수는 삼백 명이요 그 외의 백성은 다 무릎을
꿇고 물을 마신지라
7:6 Now the number of those who took up the water with their tongues was three hundred;
all the rest of the people went down on their knees to the water.
7:6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth,
were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their
knees to drink water.
7:7 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 내가 이 물을 핥아 먹은 삼백 명으로 너희를
구원하며 미디안 사람을 네 손에 붙이리니 남은 백성은 각각 그 처소로 돌아갈 것이니라
하시니
7:7 And the Lord said to Gideon, By those three hundred who were drinking with their
tongues I will give you salvation and give the Midianites into your hands; let the
rest of the people go away, every man to his place.
7:7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will
I save you, and deliver the Midianites into yours hand: and let all the other
people go every man unto his place.
7:8 이에 백성이 양식과 나팔을 손에 든지라 기드온이 이스라엘의 모든 사람을
각각 그 장막으로 돌려보내고 그 삼백 명은 머물러 두니라 미디안 진은 그 아래 골짜기
가운데 있었더라
7:8 So they took the vessels of the people, and their horns from their hands, and he
sent them away, every man to his tent, keeping only the three hundred; and the tents
of Midian were lower down in the valley.
7:8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he
sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three
hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
7:9 ○ 이 밤에 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 일어나 내려가서 적진을 치라
내가 그것을 네 손에 붙였느니라
7:9 The same night the Lord said to him, Up! go down now against their army, for I have
given them into your hands.
7:9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise,
get you down unto the host; for I have delivered it into yours hand.
7:10 만일 네가 내려가기를 두려워하거든 네 부하 부라를 데리고 그 진으로 내려가서
7:10 But if you have fear of going down, take your servant Purah with you and go down
to the tents;
7:10 But if you fear to go down, go you with Phurah your servant down to
the host:
7:11 그들의 하는 말을 들으라 그 후에 네 손이 강하여져서 능히 내려가서 그 진을
치리라 기드온이 이에 그 부하 부라를 데리고 군대가 있는 진 가에 내려간즉
7:11 And after hearing what they are saying, you will get strength to go down against
the army. So he went down with his servant Purah to the outer line of the tents
of the armed men.
7:11 And you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall yours hands be
strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant
unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.
7:12 미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 동방의 모든 사람이 골짜기에 누웠는데 메뚜기의
중다함 같고 그 약대의 무수함이 해변의 모래가 수다함 같은지라
7:12 Now the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the people of the east were covering
the valley like locusts; and their camels were like the sand by the seaside, without
number.
7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east
lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were
without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.
7:13 기드온이 그 곳에 이른즉 어떤 사람이 그 동무에게 꿈을 말하여 이르기를
내가 한 꿈을 꾸었는데 꿈에 보리떡 한 덩어리가 미디안 진으로 굴러 들어와서 한
장막에 이르러 그것을 쳐서 무너뜨려 엎드러뜨리니 곧 쓰러지더라
7:13 When Gideon came there, a man was giving his friend an account of his dream, saying,
See, I had a dream about a cake of barley bread which, falling into the tents of
Midian, came on to the tent, overturning it so that it was stretched out flat on
the earth.
7:13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream
unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley
bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and stroke it that
it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
7:14 그 동무가 대답하여 가로되 이는 다른 것이 아니라 이스라엘 사람 요아스의
아들 기드온의 칼날이라 하나님이 미디안과 그 모든 군대를 그의 손에 붙이셨느니라
하더라
7:14 And his friend in answer said, This is certainly the sword of Gideon, the son of
Joash, the men of Israel: into their hands God has given up all the army of Midian.
7:14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword
of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered
Midian, and all the host.
7:15 ○ 기드온이 그 꿈과 해몽하는 말을 듣고 경배하고 이스라엘 진 중에 돌아와서
이르되 일어나라 여호와께서 미디안 군대를 너희 손에 붙이셨느니라 하고
7:15 Then Gideon, hearing the story of the dream and the sense in which they took it,
gave worship; then he went back to the tents of Israel, and said, Up! for the Lord
has given the army of Midian into your hands.
7:15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation
thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said,
Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
7:16 삼백 명을 세 대로 나누고 각 손에 나팔과 빈 항아리를 들리고 항아리 안에는
횃불을 감추게 하고
7:16 Then separating the three hundred men into three bands, he gave every man a horn,
and a vessel in which was a flaming branch.
7:16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put
a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
7:17 그들에게 이르되 너희는 나만 보고 나의 하는 대로 하되 내가 그 진 가에
이르러서 하는 대로 너희도 그리하여
7:17 And he said to them, Keep your eyes on me, and do what I do; when I come to the
outer line of tents, whatever I do, you are to do the same.
7:17 And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when
I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall all of
you do.
7:18 나와 나를 좇는 자가 다 나팔을 불거든 너희도 그 진 사면에서 또한 나팔을
불며 이르기를 여호와를 위하라 기드온을 위하라 하라 하니라
7:18 At the sound of my horn, and the horns of those who are with me, let your horns
be sounded all round the tents, and say, For the Lord and for Gideon.
7:18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow all
of you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of
the LORD, and of Gideon.
7:19 ○ 기드온과 그들을 좇은 일백 명이 이경 초에 진 가에 이른즉 번병의 체번할
때라 나팔을 불며 손에 가졌던 항아리를 부수니라
7:19 So Gideon and the three hundred men who were with him came to the outer line of
tents, at the start of the middle watch, when the watchmen had only then taken their
stations; and the horns were sounded and the vessels broken.
7:19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside
of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set
the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their
hands.
7:20 세 대가 나팔을 불며 항아리를 부수고 좌수에 횃불을 들고 우수에 나팔을
들어 불며 외쳐 가로되 여호와와 기드온의 칼이여 하고
7:20 So the three bands all gave a loud note on their horns, and when the vessels had
been broken, they took the flaming branches in their left hands, and the horns in
their right hands ready for blowing, crying out, For the Lord and for Gideon.
7:20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and
held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to
blow likewise: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
7:21 각기 당처에 서서 그 진을 사면으로 에워싸매 그 온 적군이 달음질하고 부르짖으며
도망하였는데
7:21 Then they made a line round the tents, every man in his place; and all the army,
awaking from sleep, came running out, and with loud cries went in flight.
7:21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all
the host ran, and cried, and fled.
7:22 삼백 명이 나팔을 불 때에 여호와께서 그 온 적군으로 동무끼리 칼날로 치게
하시므로 적군이 도망하여 스레라의 벧싯다에 이르고 또 답밧에 가까운 아벨므홀라의
경계에 이르렀으며
7:22 And the three hundred gave a loud note on their horns, and every man's sword was
turned by the Lord against his brother all through the army; and the army went in
flight as far as Beth-shittah in the direction of Zeredah, to the edge of Abel-meholah
by Tabbath.
7:22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's
sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to
Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.
7:23 이스라엘 사람들은 납달리와 아셀과 므낫세에서부터 모여서 미디안 사람을
쫓았더라
7:23 And the men of Israel came together from Naphtali and from Asher and all Manasseh,
and went after Midian.
7:23 And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali,
and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.
7:24 ○ 기드온이 사자를 보내어 에브라임 온 산지로 두루 행하게 하여 이르기를
내려와서 미디안 사람을 치고 그들을 앞질러 벧바라와 요단에 이르기까지 나루턱을
취하라 하매 이에 에브라임 사람들이 다 모여서 벧바라와 요단에 이르기까지 그
나루턱을 취하고
7:24 Then Gideon sent through all the hill-country of Ephraim saying, Come down against
Midian, and keep the ways across Jordan before they come. So all the men of Ephraim,
massing themselves together, kept the ways across Jordan.
7:24 And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come
down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah
and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took
the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.
7:25 또 미디안 두 방백 오렙과 스엡을 사로잡아 오렙은 오렙 바위에서 죽이고
스엡은 스엡 포도주 틀에서 죽이고 미디안 사람을 추격하고 오렙과 스엡의 머리를
가지고 요단 저편에서 기드온에게로 나아오니라
7:25 And they took the two chiefs of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; and they put Oreb to death
at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they put to death at the place of the grape-crushing
in Zeeb, and they went after Midian; but the heads of Oreb and Zeeb they took across
Jordan to Gideon.
7:25 And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they
slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and
pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other
side Jordan.
