15:1 ´À¹åÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿©·Îº¸¾Ï ¿Õ Á¦ ½Ê ÆÈ ³â¿¡ ¾Æºñ¾äÀÌ À¯´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ°í
15:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah.
15:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

15:2 For three years he was king in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
15:2 Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. and his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

15:3 And he did the same sins which his father had done before him: his heart was not completely true to the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.
15:3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

15:4 But because of David, the Lord gave him a light in Jerusalem, making his sons king after him, so that Jerusalem might be safe;
15:4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

15:5 Because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and never in all his life went against his orders, but only in the question of Uriah the Hittite.
15:5 Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

15:6 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

15:7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
15:7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

15:8 ¾Æºñ¾äÀÌ ±× ¿­Á¶¿Í ÇÔ²² ÀÚ´Ï ´ÙÀ­¼º¿¡ Àå»çµÇ°í ±× ¾Æµé ¾Æ»ç°¡ ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ´Ï¶ó
15:8 Then Abijam went to rest with his fathers, and they put him into the earth in the town of David: and Asa his son became king in his place.
15:8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his position.

15:9 ¡Û À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ ¿©·Îº¸¾Ï Á¦ ÀÌ½Ê ³â¿¡ ¾Æ»ç°¡ À¯´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ¾î
15:9 In the twentieth year that Jeroboam was king of Israel, Asa became king over Judah.
15:9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

15:10 And he was king for forty-one years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
15:10 And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

15:11 ¾Æ»ç°¡ ±× Á¶»ó ´ÙÀ­ °°ÀÌ ¿©È£¿Í º¸½Ã±â¿¡ Á¤Á÷ÇÏ°Ô ÇàÇÏ¿©
15:11 Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as David his father did.
15:11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

15:12 Those used for sex purposes in the worship of the gods he sent out of the country, and he took away all the images which his fathers had made.
15:12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

15:13 ¶Ç ±× ¸ðÄ£ ¸¶¾Æ°¡°¡ ¾Æ¼¼¶óÀÇ °¡ÁõÇÑ ¿ì»óÀ» ¸¸µé¾úÀ¸¹Ç·Î ÅÂÈÄÀÇ À§¸¦ ÆóÇÏ°í ±× ¿ì»óÀ» Âï¾î¼­ ±âµå·Ð ½Ã³Á°¡¿¡¼­ ºÒ»ì¶úÀ¸³ª
15:13 And he would not let Maacah his mother be queen, because she had made a disgusting image for Asherah; and Asa had the image cut down and burned by the stream Kidron.
15:13 And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

15:14 The high places, however, were not taken away: but still the heart of Asa was true to the Lord all his life.
15:14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

15:15 He took into the house of the Lord all the things which his father had made holy, and those which he himself had made holy, silver and gold and vessels.
15:15 And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

15:16 ¡Û ¾Æ»ç¿Í À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ ¹Ù¾Æ»ç »çÀÌ¿¡ ÀÏ»ý ÀüÀïÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸´Ï¶ó
15:16 Now there was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their days.
15:16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

15:17 And Baasha, king of Israel, went up against Judah, building Ramah, so that no one was able to go out or in to Asa, king of Judah.
15:17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

15:18 ¾Æ»ç°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ Àü °÷°£°ú ¿Õ±Ã °÷°£¿¡ ³²Àº Àº±ÝÀ» ¸ô¼öÈ÷ ÃëÇÏ¿© ±× ½Åº¹ÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙ¿© ´Ù¸Þ¼½¿¡ °ÅÇÑ ¾Æ¶÷ ¿Õ Çì½Ã¿ÂÀÇ ¼ÕÀÚ ´Ùºê¸²¸óÀÇ ¾Æµé º¥ÇÏ´å¿¡°Ô º¸³»¸ç °¡·ÎµÇ
15:18 Then Asa took all the silver and gold which was still stored in the Lord's house, and in the king's house, and sent them, in the care of his servants, to Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Rezon, king of Aram, at Damascus, saying,
15:18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

15:19 ³ª¿Í ´ç½Å »çÀÌ¿¡ ¾àÁ¶°¡ ÀÖ°í ³» ºÎÄ£°ú ´ç½ÅÀÇ ºÎÄ£ »çÀÌ¿¡µµ ÀÖ¾ú´À´Ï¶ó ³»°¡ ´ç½Å¿¡°Ô Àº±Ý ¿¹¹°À» º¸³»¾úÀ¸´Ï ¿Í¼­ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ ¹Ù¾Æ»ç¿Í ¼¼¿î ¾àÁ¶¸¦ ±ú¶ß·Á¼­ Àú·Î ³ª¸¦ ¶°³ª°Ô Ç϶ó ÇϸÅ
15:19 Let there be an agreement between me and you as there was between my father and your father: see, I have sent you an offering of silver and gold; go and put an end to your agreement with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may give up attacking me.
15:19 There is a league between me and you, and between my father and your father: behold, I have sent unto you a present of silver and gold; come and break your league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

15:20 º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ ¾Æ»ç ¿ÕÀÇ ¸»À» µè°í ±× ±º´ë Àå°üµéÀ» º¸³»¾î À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¼ºµéÀ» Ä¡µÇ ÀÌ¿æ°ú ´Ü°ú ¾Æº§º¦¸¶¾Æ°¡¿Í ±ä³×·¿ ¿Â ¶¥°ú ³³´Þ¸®¿Â ¶¥À» ÃÆ´õ´Ï
15:20 So Ben-hadad did as King Asa said, and sent the captains of his armies against the towns of Israel, attacking Ijon and Dan and Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth as far as all the land of Naphtali.
15:20 So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and stroke Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

15:21 ¹Ù¾Æ»ç°¡ µè°í ¶ó¸¶ °ÇÃàÇÏ´Â ÀÏÀ» ±×Ä¡°í µð¸£»ç¿¡ °ÅÇϴ϶ó
15:21 And Baasha, hearing of it, put a stop to the building of Ramah, and was living in Tirzah.
15:21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

15:22 ÀÌ¿¡ ¾Æ»ç ¿ÕÀÌ ¿Â À¯´Ù¿¡ ¿µÀ» ³»·Á ÇÑ »ç¶÷µµ ¸ð¸éÇÏÁö ¸øÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿© ¹Ù¾Æ»ç°¡ ¶ó¸¶¸¦ °ÇÃàÇÏ´ø µ¹°ú Àç¸ñÀ» °¡Á®¿À°Ô ÇÏ°í ±×°ÍÀ¸·Î º£³Ä¹ÎÀÇ °Ô¹Ù¿Í ¹Ì½º¹Ù¸¦ °ÇÃàÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó
15:22 Then King Asa got all Judah together, making every man come; and they took away the stones and the wood with which Baasha was building Ramah, and King Asa made use of them for building Geba in the land of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
15:22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had built; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

15:23 Now the rest of the acts of Asa, and his power, and all he did, and the towns of which he was the builder, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah? But when he was old he had a disease of the feet.
15:23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

15:24 ¾Æ»ç°¡ ±× ¿­Á¶¿Í ÇÔ²² ÀڸŠ±× ¿­Á¶¿Í ÇÔ²² ±× Á¶»ó ´ÙÀ­ÀÇ ¼º¿¡ Àå»çµÇ°í ±× ¾Æµé ¿©È£»ç¹åÀÌ ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ´Ï¶ó
15:24 So Asa went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth in the town of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his place.
15:24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his position.

15:25 ¡Û À¯´Ù ¿Õ ¾Æ»ç Á¦ ÀÌ ³â¿¡ ¿©·Îº¸¾ÏÀÇ ¾Æµé ³ª´äÀÌ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ¾î ÀÌ ³âÀ» À̽º¶ó¿¤À» ´Ù½º¸®´Ï¶ó
15:25 Nadab, the son of Jeroboam, became king over Israel in the second year that Asa was king of Judah; and he was king of Israel for two years.
15:25 And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

15:26 Àú°¡ ¿©È£¿Í º¸½Ã±â¿¡ ¾ÇÀ» ÇàÇ쵂 ±× ¾ÆºñÀÇ ±æ·Î ÇàÇÏ¸ç ±×°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤·Î ¹üÇÏ°Ô ÇÑ ±× ÁË Áß¿¡ ÇàÇÑÁö¶ó
15:26 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of his father, and the sin which he did and made Israel do.
15:26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

15:27 ÀÌ¿¡ Àջ簥 Á·¼Ó ¾ÆÈ÷¾ßÀÇ ¾Æµé ¹Ù¾Æ»ç°¡ Àú¸¦ ¸ð¹ÝÇÏ¿© ºí·¹¼Â »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ¼ÓÇÑ ±éºêµ·¿¡¼­ Àú¸¦ Á׿´À¸´Ï ÀÌ´Â ³ª´ä°ú ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÌ ±éºêµ·À» ¿¡¿ö½Î°í ÀÖ¾úÀ½ÀÌ´õ¶ó
15:27 And Baasha, the son of Ahijah, of the family of Issachar, made a secret design against him, attacking him at Gibbethon, a town of the Philistines; for Nadab and the armies of Israel were making war on Gibbethon.
15:27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha stroke him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

15:28 À¯´Ù ¿Õ ¾Æ»ç Á¦ »ï ³â¿¡ ¹Ù¾Æ»ç°¡ ³ª´äÀ» Á×ÀÌ°í ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ°í
15:28 In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha put him to death, and became king in his place.
15:28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his position.

15:29 ¿ÕÀÌ µÉ ¶§¿¡ ¿©·Îº¸¾ÏÀÇ ¿Â ÁýÀ» Ãļ­ »ý¸í ÀÖ´Â ÀÚ¸¦ Çϳªµµ ³²±âÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ´Ù ¸êÇÏ¿´´Âµ¥ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±× Á¾ ½Ç·Î »ç¶÷ ¾ÆÈ÷¾ß·Î ÇϽŠ¸»¾¸°ú °°ÀÌ µÇ¾úÀ¸´Ï
15:29 And straight away when he became king, he sent destruction on all the offspring of Jeroboam; there was not one living person of all the family of Jeroboam whom he did not put to death, so the word of the Lord, which he said by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite, came about;
15:29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he stroke all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

15:30 Because of the sins which Jeroboam did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath.
15:30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

15:33 In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha, the son of Ahijah, became king over all Israel in Tirzah, and was king for twenty-four years.
15:33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

15:34 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of Jeroboam and the sin which he made Israel do.

16:1 And the word of the Lord came to Jehu, son of Hanani, protesting against Baasha and saying,
16:1 Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

16:2 Because I took you up out of the dust, and made you ruler over my people Israel; and you have gone in the ways of Jeroboam, and made my people Israel do evil, moving me to wrath by their sins;
16:2 Forasmuch as I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel; and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

16:3 Truly, I will see that Baasha and all his family are completely brushed away; I will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.
16:3 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

16:4 Anyone of the family of Baasha who comes to death in the town, will become food for the dogs; and he to whom death comes in the open country, will be food for the birds of the air.
16:4 Him that dies of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dies of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.

16:6 And Baasha went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth at Tirzah; and Elah his son became king in his place.
16:6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his position.

16:7 And the Lord sent his word against Baasha and his family by the mouth of the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani, because of all the evil he did in the eyes of the Lord, moving him to wrath by the work of his hands, because he was like the family of Jeroboam, and because he put it to death.
16:7 And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.

16:8 In the twenty-sixth year that Asa was king of Judah, Elah, the son of Baasha, became king of Israel in Tirzah, and he was king for two years.

16:9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his war-carriages, made secret designs against him: now he was in Tirzah, drinking hard in the house of Arza, controller of the king's house in Tirzah.

16:10 And Zimri went in and made an attack on him and put him to death, in the twenty-seventh year that Asa was king of Judah, and made himself king in his place.

16:11 And straight away when he became king and took his place on the seat of the kingdom, he put to death all the family of Baasha: not one male child of his relations or his friends kept his life.
16:11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisses against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.

16:12 So Zimri put to death all the family of Baasha, so that the word which the Lord said against him by the mouth of Jehu the prophet came about;
16:12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet.

16:13 Because of all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath by their foolish acts.

16:15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa, king of Judah, Zimri was king for seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were attacking Gibbethon in the land of the Philistines.

16:16 And news came to the people in the tents that Zimri had made a secret design and had put the king to death: so all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king that day in the tents.
16:16 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.

16:19 Because of his sin in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord, in going in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel do.

16:21 Then there was a division among the people of Israel; half the people were for making Tibni, son of Ginath, king, and half were supporting Omri.

16:22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, By the living Lord, the God of Israel, whose servant I am, there will be no dew or rain in these years, but only at my word.
17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

17:2 ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë
17:2 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
17:2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

17:3 ³Ê´Â ¿©±â¼­ ¶°³ª µ¿À¸·Î °¡¼­ ¿ä´Ü ¾Õ ±×¸´ ½Ã³Á°¡¿¡ ¼û°í
17:3 Go from here in the direction of the east, and keep yourself in a secret place by the stream Cherith, east of Jordan.
17:3 Get you behind, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

17:4 ±× ½Ã³Á¹°À» ¸¶½Ã¶ó ³»°¡ ±î¸¶±ÍµéÀ» ¸íÇÏ¿© °Å±â¼­ ³Ê¸¦ ¸ÔÀÌ°Ô Çϸ®¶ó
17:4 The water of the stream will be your drink, and by my orders the ravens will give you food there.
17:4 And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.

17:5 Àú°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸°ú °°ÀÌ ÇÏ¿© °ð °¡¼­ ¿ä´Ü ¾Õ ±×¸´ ½Ã³Á°¡¿¡ ¸Ó¹°¸Å
17:5 So he went and did as the Lord said, living by the stream Cherith, east of Jordan.
17:5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

17:6 ±î¸¶±ÍµéÀÌ ¾Æħ¿¡µµ ¶±°ú °í±â¸¦, Àú³á¿¡µµ ¶±°ú °í±â¸¦ °¡Á®¿Ô°í Àú°¡ ½Ã³»¸¦ ¸¶¼Ì´õ´Ï
17:6 And the ravens took him bread in the morning and meat in the evening; and the water of the stream was his drink.
17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

17:7 ¶¥¿¡ ºñ°¡ ³»¸®Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϹǷΠ¾ó¸¶ ÈÄ¿¡ ±× ½Ã³»°¡ ¸¶¸£´Ï¶ó
17:7 Now after a time the stream became dry, because there was no rain in the land.
17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

17:8 ¡Û ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë
17:8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

17:9 ³Ê´Â ÀϾ ½Ãµ·¿¡ ¼ÓÇÑ »ç¸£¹åÀ¸·Î °¡¼­ °Å±â À¯ÇÏ¶ó ³»°¡ ±× °÷ °úºÎ¿¡°Ô ¸íÇÏ¿© ³Ê¸¦ °ø±ËÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
17:9 Up! go now to Zarephath, in Zidon, and make your living-place there; I have given orders to a widow woman there to see that you have food.
17:9 Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.

17:10 Àú°¡ ÀϾ »ç¸£¹åÀ¸·Î °¡¼­ ¼º¹®¿¡ À̸¦ ¶§¿¡ ÇÑ °úºÎ°¡ ±× °÷¿¡¼­ ³ª¹«°¡Áö¸¦ ÁÝ´ÂÁö¶ó ÀÌ¿¡ ºÒ·¯ °¡·ÎµÇ ûÄÁ´ë ±×¸©¿¡ ¹°À» Á¶±Ý °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ³ª·Î ¸¶½Ã°Ô Ç϶ó
17:10 So he got up and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the door of the town, he saw a widow woman getting sticks together; and crying out to her he said, Will you give me a little water in a vessel for my drink?
17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray you, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

17:11 Àú°¡ °¡Áö·¯ °¥ ¶§¿¡ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ Àú¸¦ ºÒ·¯ °¡·ÎµÇ ûÄÁ´ë ³× ¼Õ¿¡ ¶± ÇÑ Á¶°¢À» ³»°Ô·Î °¡Á®¿À¶ó
17:11 And when she was going to get it, he said to her, And get me with it a small bit of bread.
17:11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray you, a morsel of bread in yours hand.

17:12 Àú°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ´ç½ÅÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »ç½ÉÀ» °¡¸®ÄÑ ¸Í¼¼Çϳë´Ï ³ª´Â ¶±ÀÌ ¾ø°í ´Ù¸¸ Åë¿¡ °¡·ç ÇÑ ¿òÅ­°ú º´¿¡ ±â¸§ Á¶±Ý »ÓÀÌ¶ó ³»°¡ ³ª¹«°¡Áö µÎ¾ùÀ» ÁÖ¿ö´Ù°¡ ³ª¿Í ³» ¾ÆµéÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© À½½ÄÀ» ¸¸µé¾î ¸Ô°í ±× ÈÄ¿¡´Â Á×À¸¸®¶ó
17:12 Then she said, By the life of the Lord your God, I have nothing but a little meal in my store, and a drop of oil in the bottle; and now I am getting two sticks together so that I may go in and make it ready for me and my son, so that we may have a meal before our death.
17:12 And she said, As the LORD your God lives, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

17:13 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ Àú¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ µÎ·Á¿ö ¸»°í °¡¼­ ³× ¸»´ë·Î ÇÏ·Á´Ï¿Í ¸ÕÀú ±×°ÍÀ¸·Î ³ª¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ÀÛÀº ¶± Çϳª¸¦ ¸¸µé¾î ³»°Ô·Î °¡Á®¿À°í ±× ÈÄ¿¡ ³Ê¿Í ³× ¾ÆµéÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© ¸¸µé¶ó
17:13 And Elijah said to her, Have no fear; go and do as you have said, but first make me a little cake of it and come and give it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.
17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as you have said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for you and for your son.

17:14 À̽º¶ó¿¤ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ³ª ¿©È£¿Í°¡ ºñ¸¦ Áö¸é¿¡ ³»¸®´Â ³¯±îÁö ±× ÅëÀÇ °¡·ç´Â ´ÙÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ±× º´ÀÇ ±â¸§Àº ¾ø¾îÁöÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó Çϼ̴À´Ï¶ó
17:14 For this is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: The store of meal will not come to an end, and the bottle will never be without oil, till the day when the Lord sends rain on the earth.
17:14 For thus says the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.

17:15 Àú°¡ °¡¼­ ¿¤¸®¾ßÀÇ ¸»´ë·Î ÇÏ¿´´õ´Ï Àú¿Í ¿¤¸®¾ß¿Í ½Ä±¸°¡ ¿©·¯ ³¯ ¸Ô¾úÀ¸³ª
17:15 So she went and did as Elijah said; and she and he and her family had food for a long time.
17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

17:16 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿¤¸®¾ß·Î ÇϽŠ¸»¾¸ °°ÀÌ ÅëÀÇ °¡·ç°¡ ´ÙÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í º´ÀÇ ±â¸§ÀÌ ¾ø¾îÁöÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϴ϶ó
17:16 The store of meal did not come to an end, and the bottle was never without oil, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah.
17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Elijah.

17:17 ¡Û ÀÌ ÀÏ ÈÄ¿¡ ±× Áý ÁÖ¸ð µÇ´Â ¿©ÀÎÀÇ ¾ÆµéÀÌ º´µé¾î Áõ¼¼°¡ ½ÉÈ÷ À§ÁßÇÏ´Ù°¡ ¼ûÀÌ ²÷¾îÁøÁö¶ó
17:17 Now after this, the son of the woman of the house became ill, so ill that there was no breath in him.
17:17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

17:18 ¿©ÀÎÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ¿© ´ç½ÅÀÌ ³ª·Î ´õºÒ¾î ¹«½¼ »ó°üÀÌ ÀÖ±â·Î ³» Á˸¦ »ý°¢³ª°Ô ÇÏ°í ¶Ç ³» ¾ÆµéÀ» Á×°Ô ÇÏ·Á°í ³»°Ô ¿À¼Ì³ªÀ̱î
17:18 And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? have you come to put God in mind of my sin, and to put my son to death?
17:18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with you, O you man of God? are you come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

17:19 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ Àú¿¡°Ô ±× ¾ÆµéÀ» ´Þ¶ó ÇÏ¿© ±×¸¦ ±× ¿©ÀÎÀÇ Ç°¿¡¼­ ÃëÇÏ¿© ¾È°í ÀÚ±âÀÇ °ÅóÇÏ´Â ´Ù¶ô¿¡ ¿Ã¶ó°¡¼­ ÀÚ±â ħ»ó¿¡ ´©ÀÌ°í
17:19 And he said to her, Give your son to me. And lifting him out of her arms, he took him up to his room and put him down on his bed.
17:19 And he said unto her, Give me your son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into an upper room, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

17:20 ¿©È£¿Í²² ºÎ¸£Â¢¾î °¡·ÎµÇ ³ªÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í¿© ÁÖ²²¼­ ¶Ç ³»°¡ ¿ì°ÅÇÏ´Â Áý °úºÎ¿¡°Ô Àç¾ÓÀ» ³»¸®»ç ±× ¾Æµé·Î Á×°Ô Çϼ̳ªÀ̱î ÇÏ°í
17:20 And crying to the Lord he said, O Lord my God, have you sent evil even on the widow whose guest I am, by causing her son's death?
17:20 And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, have you also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

17:21 ±× ¾ÆÀÌ À§¿¡ ¸öÀ» ¼¼ ¹ø Æì¼­ ¾þµå¸®°í ¿©È£¿Í²² ºÎ¸£Â¢¾î °¡·ÎµÇ ³ªÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í¿© ¿øÄÁ´ë ÀÌ ¾ÆÀÌÀÇ È¥À¸·Î ±× ¸ö¿¡ µ¹¾Æ¿À°Ô ÇϿɼҼ­ ÇÏ´Ï
17:21 And stretching herself out on the child three times, he made his prayer to the Lord, saying, O Lord my God, be pleased to let this child's life come back to him again.
17:21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray you, let this child's soul come into him again.

17:22 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿¤¸®¾ßÀÇ ¼Ò¸®¸¦ µéÀ¸½Ã¹Ç·Î ±× ¾ÆÀÌÀÇ È¥ÀÌ ¸öÀ¸·Î µ¹¾Æ¿À°í »ì¾Æ³­Áö¶ó
17:22 And the Lord gave ear to the voice of Elijah, and the child's spirit came into him again, and he came back to life.
17:22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

17:23 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ±× ¾ÆÀ̸¦ ¾È°í ´Ù¶ô¿¡¼­ ¹æÀ¸·Î ³»·Á°¡¼­ ±× ¾î¹Ì¿¡°Ô ÁÖ¸ç À̸£µÇ º¸¶ó ³× ¾ÆµéÀÌ »ì¾Ò´À´Ï¶ó
17:23 And Elijah took the child down from his room into the house and gave him to his mother and said to her, See, your son is living.
17:23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, your son lives.

17:24 ¿©ÀÎÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³»°¡ ÀÌÁ¦¾ß ´ç½ÅÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ½Ã¿ä ´ç½ÅÀÇ ÀÔ¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ Áø½ÇÇÑ ÁÙ ¾Æ³ë¶ó Çϴ϶ó
17:24 Then the woman said to Elijah, Now I am certain that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is true.
17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth.

18:1 ¸¹Àº ³¯À» Áö³»°í Á¦ »ï ³â¿¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë ³Ê´Â °¡¼­ ¾ÆÇÕ¿¡°Ô º¸ÀÌ¶ó ³»°¡ ºñ¸¦ Áö¸é¿¡ ³»¸®¸®¶ó
18:1 Now after a long time, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, Go and let Ahab see you, so that I may send rain on the earth.
18:1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

18:2 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¾ÆÇÕ¿¡°Ô º¸ÀÌ·Á°í °¡´Ï ±× ¶§¿¡ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¿¡ ±â±ÙÀÌ ½ÉÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó
18:2 So Elijah went to let Ahab see him. Now there was no food to be had in Samaria.
18:2 And Elijah went to show himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

18:3 ¾ÆÇÕÀÌ ±Ã³» ´ë½Å ¿À¹Ù´ô¸¦ ºÒ·¶À¸´Ï ÀÌ ¿À¹Ù´ô´Â Å©°Ô ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °æ¿ÜÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¶ó
18:3 And Ahab sent for Obadiah, the controller of the king's house. (Now Obadiah had the fear of the Lord before him greatly;
18:3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:

18:4 À̼¼º§ÀÌ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¼±ÁöÀÚµéÀ» ¸êÇÒ ¶§¿¡ ¿À¹Ù´ô°¡ ¼±ÁöÀÚ ÀϹé ÀÎÀ» °¡Á® ¿À½Ê Àξ¿ ±¼¿¡ ¼û±â°í ¶±°ú ¹°À» ¸Ô¿´¾ú´õ¶ó
18:4 For when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred of them, and kept them secretly in a hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water.)
18:4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

18:5 ¾ÆÇÕÀÌ ¿À¹Ù´ô¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ÀÌ ¶¥ÀÇ ¸ðµç ¹° ±Ù¿ø°ú ¸ðµç ³»·Î °¡ÀÚ È¤½Ã ²ÃÀ» ¾òÀ¸¸®¶ó ±×·¯¸é ¸»°ú ³ë»õ¸¦ »ì¸®¸®´Ï Áü½ÂÀ» ´Ù ÀÒÁö ¾Ê°Ô µÇ¸®¶ó ÇÏ°í
18:5 And Ahab said to Obadiah, Come, let us go through all the country, to all the fountains of water and all the rivers, and see if there is any grass to be had for the horses and the transport beasts, so that we may be able to keep some of the beasts from destruction.
18:5 And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: possibly we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

18:6 µÎ »ç¶÷ÀÌ µÎ·ç ´Ù´Ò ¶¥À» ³ª´©¾î ¾ÆÇÕÀº Ȧ·Î ÀÌ ±æ·Î °¡°í ¿À¹Ù´ô´Â Ȧ·Î Àú ±æ·Î °¡´Ï¶ó
18:6 So they went through all the country, covering it between them; Ahab went in one direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another by himself.
18:6 So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

18:7 ¡Û ¿À¹Ù´ô°¡ ±æ¿¡ ÀÖÀ» ¶§¿¡ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ Àú¸¦ ¸¸³­Áö¶ó Àú°¡ ¾Ë¾Æº¸°í ¾þµå·Á ¸»Ç쵂 ³» ÁÖ ¿¤¸®¾ß¿© ´ç½ÅÀ̽ôÏÀ̱î
18:7 And while Obadiah was on his way, he came face to face with Elijah; and seeing who it was, he went down on his face and said, Is it you, my lord Elijah?
18:7 And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Are you that my lord Elijah?

18:8 ´ë´äÇ쵂 ±×·¯ÇÏ´Ù °¡¼­ ³× ÁÖ¿¡°Ô °íÇϱ⸦ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¿©±â ÀÖ´Ù Ç϶ó
18:8 And Elijah in answer said, It is I; now go and say to your lord, Elijah is here.
18:8 And he answered him, I am: go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

18:9 °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ ¹«½¼ Á˸¦ ¹üÇÏ¿´±â¿¡ ´ç½ÅÀÌ ´ç½ÅÀÇ Á¾À» ¾ÆÇÕÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙ¿© Á×ÀÌ°Ô ÇÏ·Á ÇϽóªÀ̱î
18:9 And he said, What sin have I done, that you would give up your servant into the hand of Ahab, and be the cause of my death?
18:9 And he said, What have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?

18:10 ´ç½ÅÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »ç½ÉÀ» °¡¸®ÄÑ ¸Í¼¼Çϳë´Ï ³» ÁÖ²²¼­ »ç¶÷À» º¸³»¾î ´ç½ÅÀ» ãÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÑ Á·¼ÓÀ̳ª ³ª¶ó°¡ ¾ø¾ú´Âµ¥ ÀúÈñ°¡ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¾ø´Ù ÇÏ¸é ±× ³ª¶ó¿Í ±× Á·¼ÓÀ¸·Î ´ç½ÅÀ» º¸Áö ¸øÇÏ¿´´Ù´Â ¸Í¼¼¸¦ ÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿´°Å´Ã
18:10 By the life of the Lord your God, there is not a nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent in search of you; and when they said, He is not here; he made them take an oath that they had not seen you.
18:10 As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom, where my lord has not sent to seek you: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found you not.

18:11 ÀÌÁ¦ ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ °¡¼­ ³× ÁÖ¿¡°Ô °íÇϱ⸦ ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ ¿©±â ÀÖ´Ù Ç϶ó ÇϽóª
18:11 And now you say, Go, say to your lord, Elijah is here.
18:11 And now you says, Go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

18:12 ³»°¡ ´ç½ÅÀ» ¶°³ª°£ ÈÄ¿¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ½ÅÀÌ ³ªÀÇ ¾ËÁö ¸øÇÏ´Â °÷À¸·Î ´ç½ÅÀ» À̲ø¾î °¡½Ã¸®´Ï ³»°¡ °¡¼­ ¾ÆÇÕ¿¡°Ô °íÇÏ¿´´Ù°¡ Àú°¡ ´ç½ÅÀ» ãÁö ¸øÇÏ¸é ³»°¡ Á×ÀÓÀ» ´çÇϸ®ÀÌ´Ù ´ç½ÅÀÇ Á¾Àº ¾î·Á¼­ºÎÅÍ ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °æ¿ÜÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¶ó
18:12 And straight away, when I have gone from you, the spirit of the Lord will take you away, I have no idea where, so that when I come and give word to Ahab, and he sees you not, he will put me to death: though I, your servant, have been a worshipper of the Lord from my earliest years.
18:12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he shall slay me: but I your servant fear the LORD from my youth.

18:13 Has my lord not had word of what I did when Jezebel was putting the Lord's prophets to death? how I kept a hundred of them in a secret hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water?

18:18 Then he said in answer, I have not been troubling Israel, but you and your family; because, turning away from the orders of the Lord, you have gone after the Baals.
18:18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father's house, in that all of you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and you have followed Baalim.

18:19 Now send, and get Israel together before me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal who get their food at Jezebel's table.
18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

18:21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? if the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal, give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.
18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt all of you between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

18:24 And call all of you on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answers by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

18:25 Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Take one ox for yourselves and get it ready first, for there are more of you; and make your prayers to your god, but put no fire under.

18:26 So they took the ox which was given them, and made it ready, crying out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day, and saying, O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. And they were jumping up and down before the altar they had made.
18:26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

18:27 And in the middle of the day, Elijah made sport of them, saying, Give louder cries, for he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or he may have gone away for some purpose, or he may be on a journey, or by chance he is sleeping and has to be made awake.
18:27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or possibly he sleeps, and must be awaked.

18:28 So they gave loud cries, cutting themselves with knives and swords, as was their way, till the blood came streaming out all over them.
18:28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

18:29 And from the middle of the day they went on with their prayers till the time of the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to them.
18:29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Lord had said, Israel will be your name:

18:36 Then at the time of the offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be seen this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things by your order.
18:36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

18:40 And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them get away. So they took them, and Elijah made them go down to the stream Kishon, and put them to death there.

18:44 And the seventh time he said, I see a cloud coming up out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. Then he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Get your carriage ready and go down or the rain will keep you back.
18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there arises a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare your chariot, and get you down that the rain stop you not.

19:1 Ahab gave Jezebel news of all Elijah had done, and how he had put all the prophets to death with the sword.
19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and likewise how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

19:2 Then Jezebel sent a servant to Elijah, saying, May the gods' punishment be on me if I do not make your life like the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.
19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.

19:3 And he got up, fearing for his life, and went in flight, and came to Beer-sheba in Judah, parting there from his servant;
19:3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

19:4 While he himself went a day's journey into the waste land, and took a seat under a broom-plant, desiring for himself only death; for he said, It is enough: now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.
19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

19:5 And stretching himself on the earth, he went to sleep under the broom-plant; but an angel, touching him, said to him, Get up and have some food.
19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

19:6 And looking up, he saw by his head a cake cooked on the stones and a bottle of water. So he took food and drink and went to sleep again.
19:6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

19:7 And the angel of the Lord came again a second time, and touching him said, Get up and have some food, or the journey will be overmuch for your strength.
19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for you.

19:8 So he got up and took food and drink, and in the strength of that food he went on for forty days and nights, to Horeb, the mountain of God.
19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

19:9 And there he went into a hole in the rock for the night; then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, What are you doing here, Elijah?
19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What do you here, Elijah?

19:10 And he said, I have been burning for the honour of the Lord, the God of armies; for the children of Israel have not kept your agreement; they have made destruction of your altars, and have put your prophets to death with the sword: till I, even I, am the only one living; and now they are attempting to take away my life.
19:10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down yours altars, and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

19:11 Then he said, Go out and take your place on the mountain before the Lord. Then the Lord went by, and mountains were parted by the force of a great wind, and rocks were broken before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind there was an earth-shock, but the Lord was not in the earth-shock.
19:11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:

19:12 ¶Ç ÁöÁø ÈÄ¿¡ ºÒÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸³ª ºÒ °¡¿îµ¥µµ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ °è½ÃÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´õ´Ï ºÒ ÈÄ¿¡ ¼¼¹ÌÇÑ ¼Ò¸®°¡ ÀÖ´ÂÁö¶ó
19:12 And after the earth-shock a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, the sound of a soft breath.
19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

19:13 ¿¤¸®¾ß°¡ µè°í °Ñ¿ÊÀ¸·Î ¾ó±¼À» °¡¸®¿ì°í ³ª°¡ ±¼ ¾î±Í¿¡ ¼­¸Å ¼Ò¸®°¡ ÀÖ¾î Àú¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë ¿¤¸®¾ß¾ß ³×°¡ ¾îÂîÇÏ¿© ¿©±â ÀÖ´À³Ä
19:13 And Elijah, hearing it, went out, covering his face with his robe, and took his place in the opening of the hole. And there a voice came to him saying, What are you doing here, Elijah?
19:13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What do you here, Elijah?

19:15 And the Lord said to him, Go back on your way through the waste land to Damascus; and when you come there, put the holy oil on Hazael to make him king over Aram;
19:15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when you come, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

19:16 ³Ê´Â ¶Ç ´Ô½ÃÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿¹ÈÄ¿¡°Ô ±â¸§À» ºÎ¾î À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿ÕÀÌ µÇ°Ô ÇÏ°í ¶Ç ¾Æº§¹ÇÈê¶ó »ç¹åÀÇ ¾Æµé ¿¤¸®»ç¿¡°Ô ±â¸§À» ºÎ¾î ³Ê¸¦ ´ë½ÅÇÏ¿© ¼±ÁöÀÚ°¡ µÇ°Ô Ç϶ó
19:16 And on Jehu, son of Nimshi, making him king over Israel; and on Elisha, the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah, to be prophet in your place.
19:16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shall you anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shall you anoint to be prophet in your room.

19:17 And it will come about that the man who gets away safe from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will put to death; and whoever gets away safe from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will put to death.
19:17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

19:18 ±×·¯³ª ³»°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ °¡¿îµ¥ ĥõ ÀÎÀ» ³²±â¸®´Ï ´Ù ¹«¸­À» ¹Ù¾Ë¿¡°Ô ²ÝÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ´Ù ±× ÀÔÀ» ¹Ù¾Ë¿¡°Ô ¸ÂÃßÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÑ Àڴ϶ó
19:18 But I will keep safe seven thousand in Israel, all those whose knees have not been bent to Baal, and whose mouths have given him no kisses.
19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.

19:19 So he went away from there and came across Elisha, the son of Shaphat, ploughing with twelve yoke of oxen, he himself walking with the twelfth; and Elijah went up to him and put his robe on him.
19:19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

19:20 And letting the oxen be where they were, he came running after Elijah, and said, Only let me give a kiss to my father and mother, and then I will come after you. But he said to him, Go back again; for what have I done to you?
19:20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray you, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to you?

19:21 And he went back, and took the oxen and put them to death, and cooking their flesh with the yokes of the oxen, he gave the people a feast. Then he got up and went after Elijah and became his servant.
19:21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

20:1 Now Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got all his army together, and thirty-two kings with him, and horses and carriages of war; he went up and made war on Samaria, shutting it in.
20:1 And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots; and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.

20:2 And he sent representatives into the town to Ahab, king of Israel;
20:2 And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus says Benhadad,

20:3 ³× Àº±ÝÀº ³» °ÍÀÌ¿ä ³× Ã³µé°ú ³× ÀÚ³àµéÀÇ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ÀÚµµ ³» °ÍÀ̴϶ó ÇϸÅ
20:3 And they said to him, Ben-hadad says, Your silver and your gold are mine; and your wives and children are mine.
20:3 Your silver and your gold is mine; your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.

20:4 À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿ÕÀÌ ´ë´äÇÏ¿© ¸»Çϱ⸦ ³» ÁÖ ¿ÕÀÌ¿© ¿ÕÀÇ ¸»¾¸ °°ÀÌ ³ª¿Í ³ªÀÇ °ÍÀº ´Ù ¿ÕÀÇ °ÍÀÌ´ÏÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ¿´´õ´Ï
20:4 And the king of Israel sent him an answer saying, As you say, my lord king, I am yours with all I have.
20:4 And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to your saying, I am yours, and all that I have.

20:5 Then the representatives came back again, and said, These are the words of Ben-hadad: I sent to you saying, Give up to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children;
20:5 And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaks Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto you, saying, You shall deliver me your silver, and your gold, and your wives, and your children;

20:6 ³»ÀÏ À̸¾¶§¿¡ ³»°¡ ³» ½Åº¹À» ³×°Ô º¸³»¸®´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ ³× Áý°ú ³× ½Åº¹ÀÇ ÁýÀ» ¼öŽÇÏ¿© ¹«¸© ³× ´«ÀÌ ±â»µÇÏ´Â °ÍÀ» ±× ¼ÕÀ¸·Î Àâ¾Æ °¡Á®°¡¸®¶ó ÇÑÁö¶ó
20:6 But I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, to make a search through your house and the houses of your people, and everything which is pleasing in your eyes they will take away in their hands.
20:6 Yet I will send my servants unto you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search yours house, and the houses of your servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in yours eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.

20:7 Then the king of Israel sent for all the responsible men of the land, and said, Now will you take note and see the evil purpose of this man: he sent for my wives and my children, my silver and my gold, and I did not keep them back.
20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeks mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

20:8 And all the responsible men and the people said to him, Do not give attention to him or do what he says.

20:9 So he said to the representatives of Ben-hadad, Say to my lord the king, All the orders you sent the first time I will do; but this thing I may not do. And the representatives went back with this answer.
20:9 Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad, Tell my lord the king, All that you did send in order to your servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

20:10 Then Ben-hadad sent to him, saying, May the gods' punishment be on me if there is enough of the dust of Samaria for all the people at my feet to take some in their hands.
20:10 And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

20:11 And the king of Israel said in answer, Say to him, The time for loud talk is not when a man is putting on his arms, but when he is taking them off.
20:11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girds on his harness boast himself as he that puts it off.

20:12 Now when this answer was given to Ben-hadad, he was drinking with the kings in the tents, and he said to his men, Take up your positions. So they put themselves in position for attacking the town.
20:12 And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

20:13 ¡Û ÇÑ ¼±ÁöÀÚ°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ ¾ÆÇÕ¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ°¡¼­ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ³×°¡ ÀÌ Å« ¹«¸®¸¦ º¸´À³Ä ³»°¡ ¿À´Ã ÀúÈñ¸¦ ³× ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙÀ̸®´Ï ³Ê´Â ³»°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÎ ÁÙ ¾Ë¸®¶ó Çϼ̳ªÀÌ´Ù
20:13 Then a prophet came up to Ahab, king of Israel, and said, The Lord says, Have you seen all this great army? See, I will give it into your hands today, and you will see that I am the Lord.
20:13 And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into yours hand this day; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

20:14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, The Lord says, By the servants of the chiefs who are over the divisions of the land. Then he said, By whom is the fighting to be started? And he made answer, By you.
20:14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus says the LORD, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, You.

20:15 Then he got together the servants of all the chiefs who were over the divisions of the land, two hundred and thirty-two of them; and after them, he got together all the people, all the children of Israel, seven thousand.
20:15 Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.

20:16 And in the middle of the day they went out. But Ben-hadad was drinking in the tents with the thirty-two kings who were helping him.
20:16 And they went out at noon. But Benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.

20:17 °¢ µµÀÇ ¹æ¹éÀÇ ¼Ò³âµéÀÌ ¸ÕÀú ³ª°¬´õ¶ó º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ Å½Áö±ºÀ» º¸³»¾ú´õ´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ ȸº¸ÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ »ç¸¶¸®¾Æ¿¡¼­ »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ³ª¿À´õÀÌ´Ù ÇϸÅ
20:17 And the servants of the chiefs who were over the divisions of the land went forward first; and when Ben-hadad sent out, they gave him the news, saying, Men have come out from Samaria.
20:17 And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Benhadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria.

20:18 Àú°¡ À̸£µÇ È­Ä£ÇÏ·¯ ³ª¿ÃÁö¶óµµ »ç·ÎÀâ°í ½Î¿ì·¯ ³ª¿ÃÁö¶óµµ »ç·ÎÀâÀ¸¶ó Çϴ϶ó
20:18 And he said, If they have come out for peace, take them living, and if they have come out for war, take them living.
20:18 And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.

20:19 So the servants of the chiefs of the divisions of the land went out of the town, with the army coming after them.
20:19 So these young men of the princes of the provinces came out of the city, and the army which followed them.

20:20 °¢°¢ Àû±ºÀ» ÃÄÁ×À̸Š¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ µµ¸ÁÇÏ´ÂÁö¶ó À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÌ ÂÑÀ¸´Ï ¾Æ¶÷ ¿Õ º¥ÇÏ´åÀÌ ¸»À» Ÿ°í ¸¶º´À¸·Î ´õºÒ¾î µµ¸ÁÇÏ¿© ¸éÇϴ϶ó
20:20 And every one of them put his man to death, and the Aramaeans went in flight with Israel after them; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got away safely on a horse with his horsemen.
20:20 And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.

20:21 And the king of Israel went out and took the horses and the war-carriages, and made great destruction among the Aramaeans.
20:21 And the king of Israel went out, and stroke the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.

20:22 ¡Û ±× ¼±ÁöÀÚ°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ¿Í °¡·ÎµÇ ¿ÕÀº °¡¼­ ÈûÀ» ±â¸£°í ¿ÕÀÇ ÇàÇÒ ÀÏÀ» ¾Ë°í ÁغñÇϼҼ­ ÇØ°¡ µ¹¾Æ¿À¸é ¾Æ¶÷ ¿ÕÀÌ ¿ÕÀ» Ä¡·¯ ¿À¸®ÀÌ´Ù Çϴ϶ó
20:22 Then the prophet came up to the king of Israel, and said to him, Now make yourself strong, and take care what you do, or a year from now the king of Aram will come up against you again.
20:22 And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen yourself, and mark, and see what you do: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against you.

20:23 ¾Æ¶÷ ¿ÕÀÇ ½Åº¹µéÀÌ ¿Õ²² °íÇ쵂 ÀúÈñÀÇ ½ÅÀº »êÀÇ ½ÅÀ̹ǷΠÀúÈñ°¡ ¿ì¸®º¸´Ù °­ÇÏ¿´°Å´Ï¿Í ¿ì¸®°¡ ¸¸ÀÏ ÆòÁö¿¡¼­ ÀúÈñ¿Í ½Î¿ì¸é Á¤³ç ÀúÈñº¸´Ù °­ÇÒÁö¶ó
20:23 Then the king of Aram's servants said to him, Their god is a god of the hills; that is why they were stronger than we: but if we make an attack on them in the lowlands, we will certainly be stronger than they.
20:23 And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

20:24 ¿ÕÀº ÀÌ ÀÏÀ» ÇàÇϽÇÁö´Ï °ð ¿ÕµéÀ» Á¦ÇÏ¿© °¢°¢ ±× °÷¿¡¼­ ¶°³ª°Ô ÇÏ°í ÀúÈñ ´ë½Å¿¡ Àå°üµéÀ» µÎ½Ã°í
20:24 This is what you have to do: take away the kings from their positions, and put captains in their places;
20:24 And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their rooms:

20:25 ¶Ç ¿ÕÀÇ ÀÒ¾î¹ö¸° ±º´ë¿Í °°Àº ±º´ë¸¦ ¿ÕÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© Ãæ¼öÇÏ°í ¸»µµ ¸»´ë·Î, º´°Åµµ º´°Å´ë·Î Ãæ¼öÇÏ°í ¿ì¸®°¡ ÆòÁö¿¡¼­ ÀúÈñ¿Í ½Î¿ì¸é Á¤³ç ÀúÈñº¸´Ù °­Çϸ®ÀÌ´Ù ¿ÕÀÌ ±× ¸»À» µè°í ±×¸®Çϴ϶ó
20:25 And get together another army like the one which came to destruction, horse for horse, and carriage for carriage; and let us make war on them in the lowlands, and certainly we will be stronger than they. And he gave ear to what they said, and did so.
20:25 And number you an army, like the army that you have lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.

20:26 So, a year later, Ben-hadad got the Aramaeans together and went up to Aphek to make war on Israel.
20:26 And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.

20:27 And the children of Israel got themselves together, and food was made ready and they went against them; the tents of the children of Israel were like two little flocks of goats before them, but all the country was full of the Aramaeans.
20:27 And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.

20:28 ¶§¿¡ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿Õ¿¡°Ô ³ª¾Æ¿Í °íÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿©È£¿Í´Â »êÀÇ ½ÅÀÌ¿ä °ñÂ¥±âÀÇ ½ÅÀº ¾Æ´Ï¶ó Çϵµ´Ù ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ³»°¡ ÀÌ Å« ±º´ë¸¦ ´Ù ³× ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙÀ̸®´Ï ³ÊÈñ´Â ³»°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÎ ÁÙ ¾Ë¸®¶ó Çϼ̳ªÀÌ´Ù Çϴ϶ó
20:28 And a man of God came up and said to the king of Israel, The Lord says, Because the Aramaeans have said, The Lord is a god of the hills and not of the valleys; I will give all this great army into your hands, and you will see that I am the Lord.
20:28 And there came a man of God, and spoke unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus says the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into yours hand, and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.

20:29 Now the two armies kept their positions facing one another for seven days. And on the seventh day the fight was started; and the children of Israel put to the sword a hundred thousand Aramaean footmen in one day.
20:29 And they pitched one opposite to the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.

20:30 ±× ³²Àº ÀÚ´Â ¾Æº¤À¸·Î µµ¸ÁÇÏ¿© ¼ºÀ¾À¸·Î µé¾î°¬´õ´Ï ±× ¼ºÀÌ ±× ³²Àº ÀÚ À̸¸ ĥõ À§¿¡ ¹«³ÊÁö°í º¥ÇÏ´åÀº µµ¸ÁÇÏ¿© ¼ºÀ¾¿¡ À̸£·¯ °ñ¹æÀ¸·Î µé¾î°¡´Ï¶ó
20:30 But the rest went in flight to Aphek, into the town, where a wall came down on the twenty-seven thousand who were still living. And Ben-hadad went in flight into the town, into an inner room.
20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.

20:31 Then his servants said to him, It is said that the kings of Israel are full of mercy: let us then put on haircloth, and cords on our heads, and go to the king of Israel; it may be that he will give you your life.
20:31 And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray you, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: possibly he will save your life.

20:32 So they put on haircloth, and cords on their heads, and came to the king of Israel and said, Your servant Ben-hadad says, Let me now keep my life. And he said, Is he still living? he is my brother.
20:32 So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Your servant Benhadad says, I pray you, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.

20:33 Now the men took it as a sign, and quickly took up his words; and they said, Ben-hadad is your brother. Then he said, Go and get him. So Ben-hadad came out to him and he made him get up into his carriage.
20:33 Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Your brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go all of you, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

20:34 And Ben-hadad said to him, The towns my father took from your father I will give back; and you may make streets for yourself in Damascus as my father did in Samaria. And as for me, at the price of this agreement you will let me go. So he made an agreement with him and let him go.
20:34 And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from your father, I will restore; and you shall make streets for you in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send you away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.

20:35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbour by the word of the Lord, Give me a wound. But the man would not.
20:35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Strike me, I pray you. And the man refused to strike him.

20:36 Then he said to him, Because you have not given ear to the voice of the Lord, straight away when you have gone from me a lion will put you to death. And when he had gone, straight away a lion came rushing at him and put him to death.
20:36 Then said he unto him, Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as you are departed from me, a lion shall slay you. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

20:39 And when the king went by, crying out to him he said, Your servant went out into the fight; and a man came out to me with another man and said, Keep this man: if by any chance he gets away, your life will be the price of his life, or you will have to give a talent of silver in payment.
20:39 And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Your servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall your life be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.

20:40 But while your servant was turning this way and that, he was gone. Then the king of Israel said to him, You are responsible; you have given the decision against yourself.
20:40 And as your servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall your judgment be; yourself have decided it.

20:41 Then he quickly took the head-band from his eyes; and the king of Israel saw that he was one of the prophets.
20:41 And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.

20:42 And he said to him, These are the words of the Lord: Because you have let go from your hands the man whom I had put to the curse, your life will be taken for his life, and your people for his people.

21:1 Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vine-garden in Jezreel, near the house of Ahab, king of Samaria.
21:1 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

21:2 And Ahab said to Naboth, Give me your vine-garden so that I may have it for a garden of sweet plants, for it is near my house; and let me give you a better vine-garden in exchange, or, if it seems good to you, let me give you its value in money.
21:2 And Ahab spoke unto Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to you, I will give you the worth of it in money.

21:3 But Naboth said to Ahab, By the Lord, far be it from me to give you the heritage of my fathers.

21:4 So Ahab came into his house bitter and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, I will not give you the heritage of my fathers. And stretching himself on the bed with his face turned away, he would take no food.
21:4 And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

21:6 And he said to her, Because I was talking to Naboth the Jezreelite, and I said to him, Let me have your vine-garden for a price, or, if it is pleasing to you, I will give you another vine-garden for it: and he said, I will not give you my vine-garden.
21:6 And he said unto her, Because I spoke unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it please you, I will give you another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give you my vineyard.

21:7 Then Jezebel, his wife, said, Are you now the ruler of Israel? Get up, take food, and let your heart be glad; I will give you the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite.
21:7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let yours heart be merry: I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

21:8 So she sent a letter in Ahab's name, stamped with his stamp, to the responsible men and the chiefs who were in authority with Naboth.
21:8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

21:9 And in the letter she said, Let a time of public sorrow be fixed, and put Naboth at the head of the people;
21:9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

21:10 And get two good-for-nothing persons to come before him and give witness that he has been cursing God and the king. Then take him out and have him stoned to death.
21:10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, You did blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

21:11 So the responsible men and the chiefs who were in authority in his town, did as Jezebel had said in the letter she sent them.
21:11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

21:12 They gave orders for a day of public sorrow, and put Naboth at the head of the people.

21:13 And the two good-for-nothing persons came in and took their seats before him and gave witness against Naboth, in front of the people, saying, Naboth has been cursing God and the king. Then they took him outside the town and had him stoned to death.
21:13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.

21:15 Then Jezebel, hearing that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, said to Ahab, Get up and take as your heritage the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he would not give you for money, for Naboth is no longer living but is dead.
21:15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

21:16 So Ahab, hearing that Naboth was dead, went down to the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite to take it as his heritage.
21:16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

21:18 Go down to Ahab, king of Israel, in Samaria; see, he is in the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite, where he has gone to take it as his heritage.
21:18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he is gone down to possess it.

21:19 Say to him, The Lord says, Have you put a man to death and taken his heritage? Then say to him, The Lord says, In the place where dogs have been drinking the blood of Naboth, there will your blood become the drink of dogs.
21:19 And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD, Have you killed, and also taken possession? And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your blood, even yours.

21:20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you come face to face with me, O my hater? And he said, I have come to you because you have given yourself up to do evil in the eyes of the Lord.
21:20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found you: because you have sold yourself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

21:21 See, I will send evil on you and put an end to you completely, cutting off from Ahab every male child, him who is shut up and him who goes free in Israel;
21:21 Behold, I will bring evil upon you, and will take away your posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,

21:22 And I will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and like the family of Baasha, the son of Ahijah, because you have made me angry, and have made Israel do evil.
21:22 And will make yours house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith you have provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.

21:24 Any man of the family of Ahab who comes to his death in the town will become food for the dogs; and he who comes to his death in the open country will be food for the birds of the air.

21:25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

21:26 He did a very disgusting thing in going after false gods, doing all the things the Amorites did, whom the Lord sent out before the children of Israel.)
21:26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

21:27 Hearing these words, Ahab, in great grief, put haircloth on his flesh and went without food, sleeping in haircloth, and going about quietly.
21:27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

21:29 Do you see how Ahab has made himself low before me? because he has made himself low before me, I will not send the evil in his life-time, but in his son's time I will send the evil on his family.
21:29 See you how Ahab humbles himself before me? because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.

22:1 Now for three years there was no war between Aram and Israel.
22:1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.

22:2 And it came about in the third year, that Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, came down to the king of Israel.

22:3 And the king of Israel said to his servants, Do you not see that Ramoth-gilead is ours? and we are doing nothing to get it back from the hands of the king of Aram.
22:3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know all of you that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?

22:4 And he said to Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead to make war? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are: my people as your people, my horses as your horses.
22:4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.

22:5 Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Let us now get directions from the Lord.
22:5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray you, at the word of the LORD to day.

22:6 So the king of Israel got all the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, Am I to go to Ramoth-gilead to make war or not? And they said, Go up: for the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

22:7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no other prophet of the Lord here from whom we may get directions?
22:7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

22:8 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is still one man by whom we may get directions from the Lord, Micaiah, son of Imlah; but I have no love for him, for he is a prophet of evil to me and not of good. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

22:9 Then the king of Israel sent for one of his unsexed servants and said, Go quickly and come back with Micaiah, the son of Imlah.
22:9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten here Micaiah the son of Imlah.

22:10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, were seated on their seats of authority, dressed in their robes, by the doorway into Samaria; and all the prophets were acting as prophets before them.
22:10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

22:11 And Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, made himself horns of iron and said, The Lord says, Pushing back the Aramaeans with these, you will put an end to them completely.
22:11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus says the LORD, With these shall you push the Syrians, until you have consumed them.

22:12 And all the prophets said the same thing, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and it will go well for you, for the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.

22:13 Now the servant who had gone to get Micaiah said to him, See now, all the prophets with one voice are saying good things to the king; so let your words be like theirs and say good things.
22:13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spoke unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let your word, I pray you, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.

22:14 ¹Ì°¡¾ß°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ »ç½ÉÀ» °¡¸®ÄÑ ¸Í¼¼Çϳë´Ï ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³»°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇϽô °Í °ð ±×°ÍÀ» ³»°¡ ¸»Çϸ®¶ó ÇÏ°í
22:14 And Micaiah said, By the living Lord, whatever the Lord says to me I will say.
22:14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, what the LORD says unto me, that will I speak.

22:15 When he came to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, are we to go to Ramoth-gilead to make war or not? And in answer he said, Go up, and it will go well for you; and the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

22:16 Then the king said to him, Have I not, again and again, put you on your oath to say nothing to me but what is true in the name of the Lord?
22:16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure you that you tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

22:17 Àú°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ º¸´Ï ¿Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÌ ¸ñÀÚ ¾ø´Â ¾ç °°ÀÌ »ê¿¡ Èð¾îÁ³´Âµ¥ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÌ ÀÌ ¹«¸®°¡ ÁÖÀÎÀÌ ¾øÀ¸´Ï °¢°¢ Æò¾ÈÈ÷ ±× ÁýÀ¸·Î µ¹¾Æ°¥ °ÍÀ̴϶ó Çϼ̳ªÀÌ´Ù
22:17 Then he said, I saw all Israel wandering on the mountains like sheep without a keeper; and the Lord said, These have no master: let them go back, every man to his house in peace.
22:17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.

22:18 À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¿ÕÀÌ ¿©È£»ç¹å¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ Àú »ç¶÷ÀÌ ³»°Ô ´ëÇÏ¿© ±æÇÑ °ÍÀ» ¿¹¾ðÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ÈäÇÑ °ÍÀ» ¿¹¾ðÇÏ°Ú´Ù°í ´ç½Å¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´³ªÀ̱î
22:18 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not say that he would not be a prophet of good but of evil?
22:18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?

22:19 ¹Ì°¡¾ß°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ±×·±Áï ¿ÕÀº ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µéÀ¸¼Ò¼­ ³»°¡ º¸´Ï ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±× º¸Á¿¡ ¾ÉÀ¸¼Ì°í ÇÏ´ÃÀÇ ¸¸±ºÀÌ ±× Á¿ìÆí¿¡ ¸ð½Ã°í ¼­ Àִµ¥
22:19 And he said, Give ear now to the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord seated on his seat of power, with all the army of heaven in their places round him at his right hand and at his left.
22:19 And he said, Hear you therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

22:20 And the Lord said, How may Ahab be tricked into going up to Ramoth-gilead to his death? And one said one thing and one another.
22:20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.

22:21 Then a spirit came forward and took his place before the Lord and said, I will get him to do it by a trick.
22:21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.

22:22 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ Àú¿¡°Ô À̸£½ÃµÇ ¾î¶»°Ô ÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä °¡·ÎµÇ ³»°¡ ³ª°¡¼­ °ÅÁþ¸»ÇÏ´Â ¿µÀÌ µÇ¾î ±× ¸ðµç ¼±ÁöÀÚÀÇ ÀÔ¿¡ ÀÖ°Ú³ªÀÌ´Ù ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ °¡¶ó»ç´ë ³Ê´Â ²ÒÀÌ°Ú°í ¶Ç À̷縮¶ó ³ª°¡¼­ ±×¸®Ç϶ó ÇϼÌÀºÁï
22:22 And the Lord said, How? And he said, I will go out and be a spirit of deceit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Your trick will have its effect on him: go out and do so.
22:22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You shall persude him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

22:23 And now, see, the Lord has put a spirit of deceit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and the Lord has said evil against you.
22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the LORD has spoken evil concerning you.

22:24 ¡Û ±×³ª¾Æ³ªÀÇ ¾Æµé ½Ãµå±â¾ß°¡ °¡±îÀÌ ¿Í¼­ ¹Ì°¡¾ßÀÇ »´À» Ä¡¸ç À̸£µÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¿µÀÌ ³ª¸¦ ¶°³ª ¾îµð·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ °¡¼­ ³×°Ô ¸»¾¸ ÇÏ´õ³Ä
22:24 Then Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, came near and gave Micaiah a blow on the side of the face, saying, Where is the spirit of the Lord whose word is in you?
22:24 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and stroke Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto you?

22:25 ¹Ì°¡¾ß°¡ °¡·ÎµÇ ³×°¡ °ñ¹æ¿¡ µé¾î°¡¼­ ¼û´Â ±× ³¯¿¡ º¸¸®¶ó
22:25 And Micaiah said, Truly, you will see on that day when you go into an inner room to keep yourself safe.
22:25 And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.

22:26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon, the ruler of the town, and to Joash, the king's son;
22:26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

22:27 And say, It is the king's order that this man is to be put in prison and given prison food till I come again in peace.
22:27 And say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.

22:28 And Micaiah said, If you come back at all in peace, the Lord has not sent his word by me.
22:28 And Micaiah said, If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

22:30 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will make a change in my clothing, so that I do not seem to be the king, and will go into the fight; but do you put on your robes. So the king of Israel made a change in his dress and went into the fight.

22:31 Now the king of Aram had given orders to the thirty-two captains of his war-carriages, saying, Make no attack on small or great, but only on the king of Israel.
22:31 But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

22:32 So when the captains of the war-carriages saw Jehoshaphat, they said, Truly, this is the king of Israel; and turning against him, they came round him, but Jehoshaphat gave a cry.
22:32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.

22:34 And a certain man sent an arrow from his bow without thought of its direction, and gave the king of Israel a wound where his breastplate was joined to his clothing; so he said to the driver of his war-carriage, Go to one side and take me away out of the army, for I am badly wounded.
22:34 And a certain man drew a bow at random, and stroke the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn yours hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

22:35 But the fight became more violent while the day went on; and the king was supported in his war-carriage facing the Aramaeans, and the floor of the carriage was covered with the blood from his wound, and by evening he was dead.
22:35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.

22:43 He did as Asa his father had done, not turning away from it, but doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord; but the high places were not taken away: the people went on making offerings and burning them in the high places.
22:43 And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
