15:1 느밧의 아들 여로보암 왕 제 십 팔 년에 아비얌이 유다 왕이 되고
15:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam became king
over Judah.
15:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned
Abijam over Judah.
15:2 예루살렘에서 삼 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의
딸이더라
15:2 For three years he was king in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah, the
daughter of Abishalom.
15:2 Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. and his mother's name was Maachah,
the daughter of Abishalom.
15:3 아비얌이 그 부친의 이미 행한 모든 죄를 행하고 그 마음이 그 조상 다윗의
마음 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으나
15:3 And he did the same sins which his father had done before him: his heart was not
completely true to the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.
15:3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before
him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David
his father.
15:4 그 하나님 여호와께서 다윗을 위하여 예루살렘에서 저에게 등불을 주시되
그 아들을 세워 후사가 되게 하사 예루살렘을 견고케 하셨으니
15:4 But because of David, the Lord gave him a light in Jerusalem, making his sons king
after him, so that Jerusalem might be safe;
15:4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in
Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
15:5 이는 다윗이 헷 사람 우리아의 일 외에는 평생에 여호와 보시기에 정직히
행하고 자기에게 명하신 모든 일을 어기지 아니하였음이라
15:5 Because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and never in all his life
went against his orders, but only in the question of Uriah the Hittite.
15:5 Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and
turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life,
save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
15:6 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 사는 날 동안 전쟁이 있었더니
15:6 ...
15:6 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his
life.
15:7 아비얌과 여로보암 사이에도 전쟁이 있으니라 아비얌의 남은 사적과 무릇
행한 일이 유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
15:7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all he did, are they not recorded in the
book of the history of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and
Jeroboam.
15:7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not
written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war
between Abijam and Jeroboam.
15:8 아비얌이 그 열조와 함께 자니 다윗성에 장사되고 그 아들 아사가 대신하여
왕이 되니라
15:8 Then Abijam went to rest with his fathers, and they put him into the earth in the
town of David: and Asa his son became king in his place.
15:8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of
David: and Asa his son reigned in his position.
15:9 ○ 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 제 이십 년에 아사가 유다 왕이 되어
15:9 In the twentieth year that Jeroboam was king of Israel, Asa became king over Judah.
15:9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over
Judah.
15:10 예루살렘에서 사십 일 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의
딸이더라
15:10 And he was king for forty-one years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Maacah,
the daughter of Abishalom.
15:10 And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name
was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
15:11 아사가 그 조상 다윗 같이 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하여
15:11 Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as David his father did.
15:11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David
his father.
15:12 남색하는 자를 그 땅에서 쫓아내고 그 열조의 지은 모든 우상을 없이하고
15:12 Those used for sex purposes in the worship of the gods he sent out of the country,
and he took away all the images which his fathers had made.
15:12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the
idols that his fathers had made.
15:13 또 그 모친 마아가가 아세라의 가증한 우상을 만들었으므로 태후의 위를
폐하고 그 우상을 찍어서 기드론 시냇가에서 불살랐으나
15:13 And he would not let Maacah his mother be queen, because she had made a disgusting
image for Asherah; and Asa had the image cut down and burned by the stream Kidron.
15:13 And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen,
because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt
it by the brook Kidron.
15:14 오직 산당은 없이하지 아니하니라 그러나 아사의 마음이 일평생 여호와
앞에 온전하였으며
15:14 The high places, however, were not taken away: but still the heart of Asa was true
to the Lord all his life.
15:14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was
perfect with the LORD all his days.
15:15 저가 그 부친의 구별한 것과 자기의 구별한 것을 여호와의 전에 받들어
드렸으니 곧 은과 금과 기명들이더라
15:15 He took into the house of the Lord all the things which his father had made holy,
and those which he himself had made holy, silver and gold and vessels.
15:15 And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the
things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and
gold, and vessels.
15:16 ○ 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라
15:16 Now there was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their days.
15:16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
15:17 이스라엘 왕 바아사가 유다를 치러 올라와서 라마를 건축하여 사람을 유다
왕 아사에게 왕래하지 못하게 하려 한지라
15:17 And Baasha, king of Israel, went up against Judah, building Ramah, so that no one
was able to go out or in to Asa, king of Judah.
15:17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that
he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
15:18 아사가 여호와의 전 곳간과 왕궁 곳간에 남은 은금을 몰수히 취하여 그
신복의 손에 붙여 다메섹에 거한 아람 왕 헤시온의 손자 다브림몬의 아들 벤하닷에게
보내며 가로되
15:18 Then Asa took all the silver and gold which was still stored in the Lord's house,
and in the king's house, and sent them, in the care of his servants, to Ben-hadad,
son of Tabrimmon, son of Rezon, king of Aram, at Damascus, saying,
15:18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures
of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered
them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the
son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
15:19 나와 당신 사이에 약조가 있고 내 부친과 당신의 부친 사이에도 있었느니라
내가 당신에게 은금 예물을 보내었으니 와서 이스라엘 왕 바아사와 세운 약조를 깨뜨려서
저로 나를 떠나게 하라 하매
15:19 Let there be an agreement between me and you as there was between my father and
your father: see, I have sent you an offering of silver and gold; go and put an
end to your agreement with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may give up attacking
me.
15:19 There is a league between me and you, and between my father and your
father: behold, I have sent unto you a present of silver and gold; come and
break your league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
15:20 벤하닷이 아사 왕의 말을 듣고 그 군대 장관들을 보내어 이스라엘 성들을
치되 이욘과 단과 아벨벧마아가와 긴네렛 온 땅과 납달리온 땅을 쳤더니
15:20 So Ben-hadad did as King Asa said, and sent the captains of his armies against the
towns of Israel, attacking Ijon and Dan and Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth
as far as all the land of Naphtali.
15:20 So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts
which he had against the cities of Israel, and stroke Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah,
and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
15:21 바아사가 듣고 라마 건축하는 일을 그치고 디르사에 거하니라
15:21 And Baasha, hearing of it, put a stop to the building of Ramah, and was living in
Tirzah.
15:21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building
of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
15:22 이에 아사 왕이 온 유다에 영을 내려 한 사람도 모면하지 못하게 하여 바아사가
라마를 건축하던 돌과 재목을 가져오게 하고 그것으로 베냐민의 게바와 미스바를
건축하였더라
15:22 Then King Asa got all Judah together, making every man come; and they took away
the stones and the wood with which Baasha was building Ramah, and King Asa made
use of them for building Geba in the land of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
15:22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted:
and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha
had built; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
15:23 ○ 아사의 남은 사적과 모든 권세와 무릇 그 행한 일과 성읍을 건축한 것이
유다 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 그러나 저가 늙을 때에 발에 병이 있었더라
15:23 Now the rest of the acts of Asa, and his power, and all he did, and the towns of
which he was the builder, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the
kings of Judah? But when he was old he had a disease of the feet.
15:23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he
did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the
chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he
was diseased in his feet.
15:24 아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 열조와 함께 그 조상 다윗의 성에 장사되고
그 아들 여호사밧이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
15:24 So Asa went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth in the town of David
his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his place.
15:24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in
the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his position.
15:25 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이 년에 여로보암의 아들 나답이 이스라엘 왕이 되어
이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
15:25 Nadab, the son of Jeroboam, became king over Israel in the second year that Asa
was king of Judah; and he was king of Israel for two years.
15:25 And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second
year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
15:26 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 아비의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로
범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행한지라
15:26 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of his father, and the
sin which he did and made Israel do.
15:26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of
his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
15:27 이에 잇사갈 족속 아히야의 아들 바아사가 저를 모반하여 블레셋 사람에게
속한 깁브돈에서 저를 죽였으니 이는 나답과 온 이스라엘이 깁브돈을 에워싸고 있었음이더라
15:27 And Baasha, the son of Ahijah, of the family of Issachar, made a secret design against
him, attacking him at Gibbethon, a town of the Philistines; for Nadab and the armies
of Israel were making war on Gibbethon.
15:27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against
him; and Baasha stroke him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines;
for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
15:28 유다 왕 아사 제 삼 년에 바아사가 나답을 죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되고
15:28 In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha put him to death, and
became king in his place.
15:28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and
reigned in his position.
15:29 왕이 될 때에 여로보암의 온 집을 쳐서 생명 있는 자를 하나도 남기지 아니하고
다 멸하였는데 여호와께서 그 종 실로 사람 아히야로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었으니
15:29 And straight away when he became king, he sent destruction on all the offspring
of Jeroboam; there was not one living person of all the family of Jeroboam whom
he did not put to death, so the word of the Lord, which he said by his servant Ahijah
the Shilonite, came about;
15:29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he stroke all the house
of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed
him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah
the Shilonite:
15:30 이는 여로보암이 범죄하고 또 이스라엘로 범하게 한 죄로 인함이며 또 저가
이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격동시킨 일을 인함이었더라
15:30 Because of the sins which Jeroboam did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the
God of Israel, to wrath.
15:30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made
Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel
to anger.
15:31 나답의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
15:31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all he did, are they not recorded in the
book of the history of the kings of Israel?
15:31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not
written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15:32 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라
15:32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their days.
15:32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
15:33 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 삼 년에 아히야의 아들 바아사가 디르사에서 온 이스라엘의
왕이 되어 이십 사 년을 치리하니라
15:33 In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha, the son of Ahijah,
became king over all Israel in Tirzah, and was king for twenty-four years.
15:33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah
to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
15:34 바아사가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 여로보암의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로
범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라
15:34 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of Jeroboam and the sin
which he made Israel do.
15:34 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of
Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
16:1 여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 예후에게 임하여 바아사를 꾸짖어 가라사대
16:1 And the word of the Lord came to Jehu, son of Hanani, protesting against Baasha
and saying,
16:1 Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha,
saying,
16:2 내가 너를 진토에서 들어 나의 백성 이스라엘 위에 주권자가 되게 하였거늘
네가 여로보암의 길로 행하며 내 백성 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 저희 죄로 나의 노를
격동하였은즉
16:2 Because I took you up out of the dust, and made you ruler over my people Israel;
and you have gone in the ways of Jeroboam, and made my people Israel do evil, moving
me to wrath by their sins;
16:2 Forasmuch as I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over
my people Israel; and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made
my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
16:3 내가 너 바아사와 네 집을 쓸어 버려 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집 같이
되게 하리니
16:3 Truly, I will see that Baasha and all his family are completely brushed away; I
will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.
16:3 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity
of his house; and will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of
Nebat.
16:4 바아사에게 속한 자가 성읍에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의
새가 먹으리라 하셨더라
16:4 Anyone of the family of Baasha who comes to death in the town, will become food
for the dogs; and he to whom death comes in the open country, will be food for the
birds of the air.
16:4 Him that dies of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that
dies of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
16:5 ○ 바아사의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일과 권세는 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에
기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his power, are they not
recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
16:5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might,
are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:6 바아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 디르사에 장사되고 그 아들 엘라가 대신하여
왕이 되니라
16:6 And Baasha went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth at Tirzah;
and Elah his son became king in his place.
16:6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah
his son reigned in his position.
16:7 여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 선지자 예후에게 임하사 바아사와 그 집을
꾸짖으심은 저가 여로보암의 집을 본받아 여호와 보시기에 모든 악을 행하며 그 손의
소위로 여호와의 노를 격동하였음이며 또 그 집을 쳤음이더라
16:7 And the Lord sent his word against Baasha and his family by the mouth of the prophet
Jehu, the son of Hanani, because of all the evil he did in the eyes of the Lord,
moving him to wrath by the work of his hands, because he was like the family of
Jeroboam, and because he put it to death.
16:7 And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the
word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil
that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work
of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
16:8 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 육 년에 바아사의 아들 엘라가 디르사에서 이스라엘
왕이 되어 이 년을 위에 있으니라
16:8 In the twenty-sixth year that Asa was king of Judah, Elah, the son of Baasha, became
king of Israel in Tirzah, and he was king for two years.
16:8 In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son
of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
16:9 엘라가 디르사에 있어 궁내 대신 아르사의 집에서 마시고 취할 때에 그 신복
곧 병거 절반을 통솔한 장관 시므리가 왕을 모반하여
16:9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his war-carriages, made secret designs against
him: now he was in Tirzah, drinking hard in the house of Arza, controller of the
king's house in Tirzah.
16:9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against
him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward
of his house in Tirzah.
16:10 들어가서 저를 쳐죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되니 곧 유다 왕 아사 제 이십
칠 년이라
16:10 And Zimri went in and made an attack on him and put him to death, in the twenty-seventh
year that Asa was king of Judah, and made himself king in his place.
16:10 And Zimri went in and stroke him, and killed him, in the twenty and
seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his position.
16:11 시므리가 왕이 되어 그 위에 오를 때에 바아사의 온 집을 죽이되 남자는
그 족속이든지 그 친구든지 하나도 남기지 아니하고
16:11 And straight away when he became king and took his place on the seat of the kingdom,
he put to death all the family of Baasha: not one male child of his relations or
his friends kept his life.
16:11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his
throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisses
against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
16:12 바아사의 온 집을 멸하였는데 여호와께서 선지자 예후로 바아사를 꾸짖어
하신 말씀 같이 되었으니
16:12 So Zimri put to death all the family of Baasha, so that the word which the Lord
said against him by the mouth of Jehu the prophet came about;
16:12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word
of the LORD, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet.
16:13 이는 바아사의 모든 죄와 그 아들 엘라의 죄를 인함이라 저희가 범죄하고
또 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 그 헛된 것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라
16:13 Because of all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they did
and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath by their foolish
acts.
16:13 For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which
they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God
of Israel to anger with their vanities.
16:14 엘라의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book
of the history of the kings of Israel?
16:14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not
written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:15 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 칠 년에 시므리가 디르사에서 칠 일 동안 왕이 되니라
때에 백성들이 블레셋 사람에게 속한 깁브돈을 향하여 진을 치고 있더니
16:15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa, king of Judah, Zimri was king for seven days
in Tirzah. Now the people were attacking Gibbethon in the land of the Philistines.
16:15 In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign
seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which
belonged to the Philistines.
16:16 진중 백성들이 시므리가 모반하여 왕을 죽였다는 말을 들은지라 그 날에
이스라엘의 무리가 진에서 군대 장관 오므리로 이스라엘 왕을 삼으매
16:16 And news came to the people in the tents that Zimri had made a secret design and
had put the king to death: so all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king
that day in the tents.
16:16 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and
has also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the
host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
16:17 오므리가 이에 이스라엘 무리를 거느리고 깁브돈에서부터 올라와서 디르사를
에워쌌더라
16:17 Then Omri went up from Gibbethon, with all the army of Israel, and they made an
attack on Tirzah, shutting in the town on every side.
16:17 And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they
besieged Tirzah.
16:18 시므리가 성이 함락됨을 보고 왕궁 위소에 들어가서 왕궁에 불을 놓고 그
가운데서 죽었으니
16:18 And when Zimri saw that the town was taken, he went into the inner room of the king's
house, and burning the house over his head, came to his end,
16:18 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he
went into the palace of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him
with fire, and died.
16:19 이는 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 범죄함을 인함이라 저가 여로보암의
길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라
16:19 Because of his sin in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord, in going in the way of
Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel do.
16:19 For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the LORD,
in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel
to sin.
16:20 시므리의 남은 행위와 그 모반한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지
아니하였느냐
16:20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and the secret design he made, are they not recorded
in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
16:20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought,
are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:21 ○ 그 때에 이스라엘 백성이 둘에 나뉘어 그 절반은 기낫의 아들 디브니를
좇아 저로 왕을 삼으려 하고 그 절반은 오므리를 좇았더니
16:21 Then there was a division among the people of Israel; half the people were for making
Tibni, son of Ginath, king, and half were supporting Omri.
16:21 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the
people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed
Omri.
16:22 오므리를 좇은 백성이 기낫의 아들 디브니를 좇은 백성을 이긴지라 디브니가
죽으매 오므리가 왕이 되니라
16:22 But the supporters of Omri overcame those who were on the side of Tibni, the son
of Ginath; and death came to Tibni and to his brother Joram at that time: and Omri
became king in the place of Tibni.
16:22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that
followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
16:23 유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 일 년에 오므리가 이스라엘 왕이 되어 십 이 년을 위에
있으며 디르사에서 육 년 동안 치리하니라
16:23 In the thirty-first year of Asa, king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel, and
he was king for twelve years; for six years he was ruling in Tirzah.
16:23 In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign
over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
16:24 저가 은 두 달란트로 세멜에게서 사마리아 산을 사고 그 산 위에 성을 건축하고
그 건축한 성 이름을 그 산 주인이 되었던 세멜의 이름을 좇아 사마리아라 일컬었더라
16:24 He got the hill Samaria from Shemer for the price of two talents of silver, and
he made a town there, building it on the hill and naming it Samaria, after Shemer
the owner of the hill.
16:24 And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver,
and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after
the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
16:25 오므리가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 전의 모든 사람보다 더욱 악하게
행하여
16:25 And Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord, even worse than all those before him,
16:25 But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD, and did worse than all
that were before him.
16:26 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게
한 그 죄 중에 행하여 그 헛된 것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발케 하였더라
16:26 Copying all the evil ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and all the sins he did
and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath by their foolish
ways.
16:26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his
sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger
with their vanities.
16:27 오므리의 행한 그 남은 사적과 그 베푼 권세가 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에
기록되지 아니하였느냐
16:27 Now the rest of the acts which Omri did, and his great power, are they not recorded
in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
16:27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he
showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:28 오므리가 그 열조와 함께 자매 사마리아에 장사되고 그 아들 아합이 대신하여
왕이 되니라
16:28 So Omri went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria; and
Ahab his son became king in his place.
16:28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab
his son reigned in his position.
16:29 ○ 유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 팔 년에 오므리의 아들 아합이 이스라엘 왕이 되니라
오므리의 아들 아합이 사마리아에서 이십 이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
16:29 In the thirty-eighth year that Asa was king of Judah, Ahab, the son of Omri, became
king over Israel; and Ahab was king in Samaria for twenty-two years.
16:29 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the
son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel
in Samaria twenty and two years.
16:30 오므리의 아들 아합이 그 전의 모든 사람보다 여호와 보시기에 악을 더욱
행하여
16:30 And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the eyes of the Lord, even worse than all
who went before him.
16:30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all
that were before him.
16:31 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라 행하는 것을 오히려 가볍게 여기며 시돈
사람의 왕 엣바알의 딸 이세벨로 아내를 삼고 가서 바알을 섬겨 숭배하고
16:31 And as if copying the evil ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, was a small thing
for him, he took as his wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of Zidon, and became
a servant and worshipper of Baal.
16:31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk
in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter
of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
16:32 사마리아에 건축한 바알의 사당 속에 바알을 위하여 단을 쌓으며
16:32 And he put up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he had made in Samaria.
16:32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had
built in Samaria.
16:33 또 아세라 목상을 만들었으니 저는 그 전의 모든 이스라엘 왕보다 심히
이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라
16:33 And Ahab made an image of Asherah and did more than all the kings of Israel before
him to make the Lord, the God of Israel, angry.
16:33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of
Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
16:34 그 시대에 벧엘 사람 히엘이 여리고를 건축하였는데 저가 그 터를 쌓을
때에 맏아들 아비람을 잃었고 그 문을 세울 때에 말째 아들 스굽을 잃었으니 여호와께서
눈의 아들 여호수아로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라
16:34 In his days Hiel made Jericho; he put its base in position at the price of Abiram,
his oldest son, and he put its doors in place at the price of his youngest son Segub;
even as the Lord had said by Joshua, the son of Nun.
16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation
thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest
son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son
of Nun.
17:1 길르앗에 우거하는 자 중에 디셉 사람 엘리야가 아합에게 고하되 나의 섬기는
이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내 말이 없으면 수년 동안 우로가
있지 아니하리라 하니라
17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, By the living Lord,
the God of Israel, whose servant I am, there will be no dew or rain in these years,
but only at my word.
17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said
unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall
not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
17:2 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
17:2 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
17:2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
17:3 너는 여기서 떠나 동으로 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 숨고
17:3 Go from here in the direction of the east, and keep yourself in a secret place by
the stream Cherith, east of Jordan.
17:3 Get you behind, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook
Cherith, that is before Jordan.
17:4 그 시냇물을 마시라 내가 까마귀들을 명하여 거기서 너를 먹이게 하리라
17:4 The water of the stream will be your drink, and by my orders the ravens will give
you food there.
17:4 And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded
the ravens to feed you there.
17:5 저가 여호와의 말씀과 같이 하여 곧 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 머물매
17:5 So he went and did as the Lord said, living by the stream Cherith, east of Jordan.
17:5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went
and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
17:6 까마귀들이 아침에도 떡과 고기를, 저녁에도 떡과 고기를 가져왔고 저가
시내를 마셨더니
17:6 And the ravens took him bread in the morning and meat in the evening; and the water
of the stream was his drink.
17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread
and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
17:7 땅에 비가 내리지 아니하므로 얼마 후에 그 시내가 마르니라
17:7 Now after a time the stream became dry, because there was no rain in the land.
17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because
there had been no rain in the land.
17:8 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
17:8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
17:9 너는 일어나 시돈에 속한 사르밧으로 가서 거기 유하라 내가 그 곳 과부에게
명하여 너를 공궤하게 하였느니라
17:9 Up! go now to Zarephath, in Zidon, and make your living-place there; I have given
orders to a widow woman there to see that you have food.
17:9 Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, and dwell there:
behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.
17:10 저가 일어나 사르밧으로 가서 성문에 이를 때에 한 과부가 그 곳에서 나무가지를
줍는지라 이에 불러 가로되 청컨대 그릇에 물을 조금 가져다가 나로 마시게 하라
17:10 So he got up and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the door of the town, he
saw a widow woman getting sticks together; and crying out to her he said, Will you
give me a little water in a vessel for my drink?
17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of
the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called
to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray you, a little water in a vessel, that I may
drink.
17:11 저가 가지러 갈 때에 엘리야가 저를 불러 가로되 청컨대 네 손에 떡 한
조각을 내게로 가져오라
17:11 And when she was going to get it, he said to her, And get me with it a small bit
of bread.
17:11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring
me, I pray you, a morsel of bread in yours hand.
17:12 저가 가로되 당신의 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 나는 떡이
없고 다만 통에 가루 한 움큼과 병에 기름 조금 뿐이라 내가 나무가지 두엇을 주워다가
나와 내 아들을 위하여 음식을 만들어 먹고 그 후에는 죽으리라
17:12 Then she said, By the life of the Lord your God, I have nothing but a little meal
in my store, and a drop of oil in the bottle; and now I am getting two sticks together
so that I may go in and make it ready for me and my son, so that we may have a meal
before our death.
17:12 And she said, As the LORD your God lives, I have not a cake, but an
handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am
gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that
we may eat it, and die.
17:13 엘리야가 저에게 이르되 두려워 말고 가서 네 말대로 하려니와 먼저 그것으로
나를 위하여 작은 떡 하나를 만들어 내게로 가져오고 그 후에 너와 네 아들을 위하여
만들라
17:13 And Elijah said to her, Have no fear; go and do as you have said, but first make
me a little cake of it and come and give it to me, and then make something for yourself
and your son.
17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as you have said: but
make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for
you and for your son.
17:14 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 나 여호와가 비를 지면에 내리는 날까지
그 통의 가루는 다하지 아니하고 그 병의 기름은 없어지지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
17:14 For this is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: The store of meal will not
come to an end, and the bottle will never be without oil, till the day when the
Lord sends rain on the earth.
17:14 For thus says the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not
waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sends
rain upon the earth.
17:15 저가 가서 엘리야의 말대로 하였더니 저와 엘리야와 식구가 여러 날 먹었으나
17:15 So she went and did as Elijah said; and she and he and her family had food for a
long time.
17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and
he, and her house, did eat many days.
17:16 여호와께서 엘리야로 하신 말씀 같이 통의 가루가 다하지 아니하고 병의
기름이 없어지지 아니하니라
17:16 The store of meal did not come to an end, and the bottle was never without oil,
as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah.
17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail,
according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Elijah.
17:17 ○ 이 일 후에 그 집 주모 되는 여인의 아들이 병들어 증세가 심히 위중하다가
숨이 끊어진지라
17:17 Now after this, the son of the woman of the house became ill, so ill that there
was no breath in him.
17:17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman,
the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there
was no breath left in him.
17:18 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여 당신이 나로 더불어 무슨
상관이 있기로 내 죄를 생각나게 하고 또 내 아들을 죽게 하려고 내게 오셨나이까
17:18 And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? have you come
to put God in mind of my sin, and to put my son to death?
17:18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with you, O you man of
God? are you come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
17:19 엘리야가 저에게 그 아들을 달라 하여 그를 그 여인의 품에서 취하여 안고
자기의 거처하는 다락에 올라가서 자기 침상에 누이고
17:19 And he said to her, Give your son to me. And lifting him out of her arms, he took
him up to his room and put him down on his bed.
17:19 And he said unto her, Give me your son. And he took him out of her
bosom, and carried him up into an upper room, where he abode, and laid him upon
his own bed.
17:20 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 또 내가 우거하는
집 과부에게 재앙을 내리사 그 아들로 죽게 하셨나이까 하고
17:20 And crying to the Lord he said, O Lord my God, have you sent evil even on the widow
whose guest I am, by causing her son's death?
17:20 And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, have you also
brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
17:21 그 아이 위에 몸을 세 번 펴서 엎드리고 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의
하나님 여호와여 원컨대 이 아이의 혼으로 그 몸에 돌아오게 하옵소서 하니
17:21 And stretching herself out on the child three times, he made his prayer to the Lord,
saying, O Lord my God, be pleased to let this child's life come back to him again.
17:21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto
the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray you, let this child's soul come into
him again.
17:22 여호와께서 엘리야의 소리를 들으시므로 그 아이의 혼이 몸으로 돌아오고
살아난지라
17:22 And the Lord gave ear to the voice of Elijah, and the child's spirit came into him
again, and he came back to life.
17:22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came
into him again, and he revived.
17:23 엘리야가 그 아이를 안고 다락에서 방으로 내려가서 그 어미에게 주며 이르되
보라 네 아들이 살았느니라
17:23 And Elijah took the child down from his room into the house and gave him to his
mother and said to her, See, your son is living.
17:23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber
into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, your
son lives.
17:24 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 내가 이제야 당신은 하나님의 사람이시요 당신의
입에 있는 여호와의 말씀이 진실한 줄 아노라 하니라
17:24 Then the woman said to Elijah, Now I am certain that you are a man of God, and that
the word of the Lord in your mouth is true.
17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that you are a man
of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth.
18:1 많은 날을 지내고 제 삼 년에 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
너는 가서 아합에게 보이라 내가 비를 지면에 내리리라
18:1 Now after a long time, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying,
Go and let Ahab see you, so that I may send rain on the earth.
18:1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came
to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself unto Ahab; and I will
send rain upon the earth.
18:2 엘리야가 아합에게 보이려고 가니 그 때에 사마리아에 기근이 심하였더라
18:2 So Elijah went to let Ahab see him. Now there was no food to be had in Samaria.
18:2 And Elijah went to show himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine
in Samaria.
18:3 아합이 궁내 대신 오바댜를 불렀으니 이 오바댜는 크게 여호와를 경외하는
자라
18:3 And Ahab sent for Obadiah, the controller of the king's house. (Now Obadiah had
the fear of the Lord before him greatly;
18:3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah
feared the LORD greatly:
18:4 이세벨이 여호와의 선지자들을 멸할 때에 오바댜가 선지자 일백 인을 가져
오십 인씩 굴에 숨기고 떡과 물을 먹였었더라
18:4 For when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred
of them, and kept them secretly in a hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave
them bread and water.)
18:4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah
took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with
bread and water.)
18:5 아합이 오바댜에게 이르되 이 땅의 모든 물 근원과 모든 내로 가자 혹시
꼴을 얻으리라 그러면 말과 노새를 살리리니 짐승을 다 잃지 않게 되리라 하고
18:5 And Ahab said to Obadiah, Come, let us go through all the country, to all the fountains
of water and all the rivers, and see if there is any grass to be had for the horses
and the transport beasts, so that we may be able to keep some of the beasts from
destruction.
18:5 And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of
water, and unto all brooks: possibly we may find grass to save the horses and
mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.
18:6 두 사람이 두루 다닐 땅을 나누어 아합은 홀로 이 길로 가고 오바댜는 홀로
저 길로 가니라
18:6 So they went through all the country, covering it between them; Ahab went in one
direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another by himself.
18:6 So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went
one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
18:7 ○ 오바댜가 길에 있을 때에 엘리야가 저를 만난지라 저가 알아보고 엎드려
말하되 내 주 엘리야여 당신이시니이까
18:7 And while Obadiah was on his way, he came face to face with Elijah; and seeing who
it was, he went down on his face and said, Is it you, my lord Elijah?
18:7 And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him,
and fell on his face, and said, Are you that my lord Elijah?
18:8 대답하되 그러하다 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라
18:8 And Elijah in answer said, It is I; now go and say to your lord, Elijah is here.
18:8 And he answered him, I am: go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.
18:9 가로되 내가 무슨 죄를 범하였기에 당신이 당신의 종을 아합의 손에 붙여
죽이게 하려 하시나이까
18:9 And he said, What sin have I done, that you would give up your servant into the
hand of Ahab, and be the cause of my death?
18:9 And he said, What have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant
into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?
18:10 당신의 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내 주께서 사람을 보내어
당신을 찾지 아니한 족속이나 나라가 없었는데 저희가 말하기를 엘리야가 없다 하면
그 나라와 그 족속으로 당신을 보지 못하였다는 맹세를 하게 하였거늘
18:10 By the life of the Lord your God, there is not a nation or kingdom where my lord
has not sent in search of you; and when they said, He is not here; he made them
take an oath that they had not seen you.
18:10 As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom, where my
lord has not sent to seek you: and when they said, He is not there; he took
an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found you not.
18:11 이제 당신의 말씀이 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라
하시나
18:11 And now you say, Go, say to your lord, Elijah is here.
18:11 And now you says, Go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.
18:12 내가 당신을 떠나간 후에 여호와의 신이 나의 알지 못하는 곳으로 당신을
이끌어 가시리니 내가 가서 아합에게 고하였다가 저가 당신을 찾지 못하면 내가 죽임을
당하리이다 당신의 종은 어려서부터 여호와를 경외하는 자라
18:12 And straight away, when I have gone from you, the spirit of the Lord will take you
away, I have no idea where, so that when I come and give word to Ahab, and he sees
you not, he will put me to death: though I, your servant, have been a worshipper
of the Lord from my earliest years.
18:12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the
Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I know not; and so when I come and
tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he shall slay me: but I your servant fear
the LORD from my youth.
18:13 이세벨이 여호와의 선지자들을 죽일 때에 내가 여호와의 선지자 중에 일백
인을 오십 인씩 굴에 숨기고 떡과 물로 먹인 일이 내 주께 들리지 아니하였나이까
18:13 Has my lord not had word of what I did when Jezebel was putting the Lord's prophets
to death? how I kept a hundred of them in a secret hole in the rock, fifty at a
time, and gave them bread and water?
18:13 Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of
the LORD, how I hid an hundred men of the LORD's prophets by fifty in a cave,
and fed them with bread and water?
18:14 이제 당신의 말씀이 가서 네 주에게 고하기를 엘리야가 여기 있다 하라
하시니 그리하면 저가 나를 죽이리이다
18:14 And now you say, Go and say to your Lord, Elijah is here; and he will put me to
death.
18:14 And now you says, Go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he
shall slay me.
18:15 엘리야가 이르되 내가 모시는 만군의 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니
내가 오늘날 아합에게 보이리라
18:15 And Elijah said, By the life of the Lord of armies, whose servant I am, I will certainly
let him see me today.
18:15 And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I
will surely show myself unto him to day.
18:16 ○ 오바댜가 가서 아합을 만나 고하매 아합이 엘리야를 만나려 하여 가다가
18:16 So Obadiah went to Ahab and gave him the news; and Ahab went to see Elijah.
18:16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
18:17 엘리야를 볼 때에 저에게 이르되 이스라엘을 괴롭게 하는 자여 네냐
18:17 And when he saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, Is it you, you troubler of Israel?
18:17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him,
Are you he that troubles Israel?
18:18 저가 대답하되 내가 이스라엘을 괴롭게 한 것이 아니라 당신과 당신의 아비의
집이 괴롭게 하였으니 이는 여호와의 명령을 버렸고 당신이 바알들을 좇았음이라
18:18 Then he said in answer, I have not been troubling Israel, but you and your family;
because, turning away from the orders of the Lord, you have gone after the Baals.
18:18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father's
house, in that all of you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and you
have followed Baalim.
18:19 그런즉 보내어 온 이스라엘과 이세벨의 상에서 먹는 바알의 선지자 사백
오십 인과 아세라의 선지자 사백 인을 갈멜 산으로 모아 내게로 나오게 하소서
18:19 Now send, and get Israel together before me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred
and fifty prophets of Baal who get their food at Jezebel's table.
18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel,
and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves
four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.
18:20 ○ 아합이 이에 이스라엘 모든 자손에게로 보내어 선지자들을 갈멜 산으로
모으니라
18:20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and got the prophets together at Mount
Carmel.
18:20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets
together unto mount Carmel.
18:21 엘리야가 모든 백성에게 가까이 나아가 이르되 너희가 어느 때까지 두 사이에서
머뭇머뭇 하려느냐 여호와가 만일 하나님이면 그를 좇고 바알이 만일 하나님이면
그를 좇을지니라 하니 백성이 한 말도 대답지 아니하는지라
18:21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing
between two opinions? if the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal,
give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.
18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt all of
you between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then
follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
18:22 엘리야가 백성에게 이르되 여호와의 선지자는 나만 홀로 남았으나 바알의
선지자는 사백 오십 인이로다
18:22 Then Elijah said to the people, I, even I, am the only living prophet of the Lord;
but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
18:22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet
of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
18:23 그런즉 두 송아지를 우리에게 가져오게 하고 저희는 한 송아지를 택하여
각을 떠서 나무 위에 놓고 불은 놓지 말며 나도 한 송아지를 잡아 나무 위에 놓고
불은 놓지 말고
18:23 Now, let them give us two oxen; and let them take one for themselves, and have it
cut up, and put it on the wood, but put no fire under it; I will get the other ox
ready, and put it on the wood, and put no fire under it.
18:23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock
for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
18:24 너희는 너희 신의 이름을 부르라 나는 여호와의 이름을 부르리니 이에 불로
응답하는 신 그가 하나님이니라 백성이 다 대답하되 그 말이 옳도다
18:24 And do you make prayers to your god, and I will make a prayer to the Lord: and it
will be clear that the one who gives an answer by fire is God. And all the people
in answer said, It is well said.
18:24 And call all of you on the name of your gods, and I will call on the
name of the LORD: and the God that answers by fire, let him be God. And all
the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
18:25 ○ 엘리야가 바알의 선지자들에게 이르되 너희는 많으니 먼저 한 송아지를
택하여 잡고 너희 신의 이름을 부르라 그러나 불을 놓지 말라
18:25 Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Take one ox for yourselves and get it
ready first, for there are more of you; and make your prayers to your god, but put
no fire under.
18:25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for
yourselves, and dress it first; for all of you are many; and call on the name
of your gods, but put no fire under.
18:26 저희가 그 받은 송아지를 취하여 잡고 아침부터 낮까지 바알의 이름을 불러
가로되 바알이여 우리에게 응답하소서 하나 아무 소리도 없고 아무 응답하는 자도
없으므로 저희가 그 쌓은 단 주위에서 뛰놀더라
18:26 So they took the ox which was given them, and made it ready, crying out to Baal
from morning till the middle of the day, and saying, O Baal, give ear to us. But
there was no voice and no answer. And they were jumping up and down before the altar
they had made.
18:26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it,
and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal,
hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon
the altar which was made.
18:27 오정에 이르러는 엘리야가 저희를 조롱하여 가로되 큰 소리로 부르라 저는
신인즉 묵상하고 있는지 혹 잠간 나갔는지 혹 길을 행하는지 혹 잠이 들어서 깨워야
할 것인지 하매
18:27 And in the middle of the day, Elijah made sport of them, saying, Give louder cries,
for he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or he may have gone away for some purpose,
or he may be on a journey, or by chance he is sleeping and has to be made awake.
18:27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry
aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in
a journey, or possibly he sleeps, and must be awaked.
18:28 이에 저희가 큰 소리로 부르고 그 규례를 따라 피가 흐르기까지 칼과 창으로
그 몸을 상하게 하더라
18:28 So they gave loud cries, cutting themselves with knives and swords, as was their
way, till the blood came streaming out all over them.
18:28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives
and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
18:29 이같이 하여 오정이 지났으나 저희가 오히려 진언을 하여 저녁 소제 드릴
때까지 이를지라도 아무 소리도 없고 아무 응답하는 자도 없고 아무 돌아보는 자도
없더라
18:29 And from the middle of the day they went on with their prayers till the time of
the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to
them.
18:29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until
the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice,
nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
18:30 ○ 엘리야가 모든 백성을 향하여 이르되 내게로 가까이 오라 백성이 다
저에게 가까이 오매 저가 무너진 여호와의 단을 수축하되
18:30 Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me; and all the people came near.
And he put up again the altar of the Lord which had been broken down.
18:30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the
people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken
down.
18:31 야곱의 아들들의 지파의 수효를 따라 열 두 돌을 취하니 이 야곱은 여호와께서
옛적에 저에게 임하여 이르시기를 네 이름을 이스라엘이라 하리라 하신 자더라
18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to
whom the Lord had said, Israel will be your name:
18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes
of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall
be your name:
18:32 저가 여호와의 이름을 의지하여 그 돌로 단을 쌓고 단으로 돌아가며 곡식
종자 두 세아를 용납할 만한 도랑을 만들고
18:32 And with the stones he made an altar to the name of the Lord; and he made a deep
drain all round the altar, great enough to take two measures of seed.
18:32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and
he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of
seed.
18:33 또 나무를 벌이고 송아지의 각을 떠서 나무 위에 놓고 이르되 통 넷에 물을
채워다가 번제물과 나무 위에 부으라 하고
18:33 And he put the wood in order, and, cutting up the ox, put it on the wood. Then he
said, Get four vessels full of water and put it on the burned offering and on the
wood. And he said, Do it a second time, and they did it a second time;
18:33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid
him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the
burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
18:34 또 이르되 다시 그리하라 하여 다시 그리하니 또 이르되 세 번 그리하라
하여 세 번 그리하니
18:34 And he said, Do it a third time, and they did it a third time.
18:34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time.
And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
18:35 물이 단으로 두루 흐르고 도랑에도 물이 가득하게 되었더라
18:35 And the water went all round the altar, till the drain was full.
18:35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also
with water.
18:36 저녁 소제 드릴 때에 이르러 선지자 엘리야가 나아가서 말하되 아브라함과
이삭과 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 이스라엘 중에서 하나님이 되심과 내가
주의 종이 됨과 내가 주의 말씀대로 이 모든 일을 행하는 것을 오늘날 알게 하옵소서
18:36 Then at the time of the offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Lord,
the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be seen this day that you are
God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things
by your order.
18:36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice,
that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and
of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am
your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.
18:37 여호와여 내게 응답하옵소서 내게 응답하옵소서 이 백성으로 주 여호와는
하나님이신 것과 주는 저희의 마음으로 돌이키게 하시는 것을 알게 하옵소서 하매
18:37 Give me an answer, O Lord, give me an answer, so that this people may see that you
are God, and that you have made their hearts come back again.
18:37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that you are the
LORD God, and that you have turned their heart back again.
18:38 이에 여호와의 불이 내려서 번제물과 나무와 돌과 흙을 태우고 또 도랑의
물을 핥은지라
18:38 Then the fire of the Lord came down, burning up the offering and the wood and the
stones and the dust, and drinking up the water in the drain.
18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and
the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in
the trench.
18:39 모든 백성이 보고 엎드려 말하되 여호와 그는 하나님이시로다 여호와 그는
하나님이시로다 하니
18:39 And when the people saw it, they all went down on their faces, and said, The Lord,
he is God, the Lord, he is God.
18:39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they
said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
18:40 엘리야가 저희에게 이르되 바알의 선지자를 잡되 하나도 도망하지 못하게
하라 하매 곧 잡은지라 엘리야가 저희를 기손 시내로 내려다가 거기서 죽이니라
18:40 And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them get away.
So they took them, and Elijah made them go down to the stream Kishon, and put them
to death there.
18:40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of
them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon,
and slew them there.
18:41 ○ 엘리야가 아합에게 이르되 올라가서 먹고 마시소서 큰 비의 소리가 있나이다
18:41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, Up! take food and drink, for there is a sound of much
rain.
18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get you up, eat and drink; for there is
a sound of abundance of rain.
18:42 아합이 먹고 마시러 올라가니라 엘리야가 갈멜 산 꼭대기로 올라가서 땅에
꿇어 엎드려 그 얼굴을 무릎 사이에 넣고
18:42 So Ahab went up to have food and drink, while Elijah went up to the top of Carmel;
and he went down on the earth, putting his face between his knees.
18:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top
of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between
his knees,
18:43 그 사환에게 이르되 올라가 바다 편을 바라보라 저가 올라가 바라보고 고하되
아무 것도 없나이다 가로되 일곱 번까지 다시 가라
18:43 And he said to his servant, Go now, and take a look in the direction of the sea.
And he went up, and after looking said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again
seven times; and he went seven times.
18:43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went
up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
18:44 일곱 번째 이르러서는 저가 고하되 바다에서 사람의 손만한 작은 구름이
일어나나이다 가로되 올라가 아합에게 고하기를 비에 막히지 아니하도록 마차를 갖추고
내려가소서 하라 하니라
18:44 And the seventh time he said, I see a cloud coming up out of the sea, as small as
a man's hand. Then he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Get your carriage ready and go
down or the rain will keep you back.
18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there
arises a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up,
say unto Ahab, Prepare your chariot, and get you down that the rain stop you
not.
18:45 조금 후에 구름과 바람이 일어나서 하늘이 캄캄하여지며 큰 비가 내리는지라
아합이 마차를 타고 이스르엘로 가니
18:45 And after a very little time, the heaven became black with clouds and wind, and
there was a great rain. And Ahab went in his carriage to Jezreel.
18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with
clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
18:46 여호와의 능력이 엘리야에게 임하매 저가 허리를 동이고 이스르엘로 들어가는
곳까지 아합 앞에서 달려갔더라
18:46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he made himself strong, and went running
before Ahab till they came to Jezreel.
18:46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins,
and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
19:1 아합이 엘리야의 무릇 행한 일과 그가 어떻게 모든 선지자를 칼로
죽인 것을 이세벨에게 고하니
19:1 Ahab gave Jezebel news of all Elijah had done, and how he had put all the prophets
to death with the sword.
19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and likewise how he
had slain all the prophets with the sword.
19:2 이세벨이 사자를 엘리야에게 보내어 이르되 내가 내일 이맘때에는
정녕 네 생명으로 저 사람들 중 한 사람의 생명 같게 하리라 아니하면 신들이 내게
벌 위에 벌을 내림이 마땅하니라 한지라
19:2 Then Jezebel sent a servant to Elijah, saying, May the gods' punishment be on me
if I do not make your life like the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.
19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do
to me, and more also, if I make not your life as the life of one of them by
tomorrow about this time.
19:3 저가 이 형편을 보고 일어나 그 생명을 위하여 도망하여 유다에 속한 브엘세바에
이르러 자기의 사환을 그 곳에 머물게 하고
19:3 And he got up, fearing for his life, and went in flight, and came to Beer-sheba
in Judah, parting there from his servant;
19:3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba,
which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
19:4 스스로 광야로 들어가 하룻길쯤 행하고 한 로뎀나무 아래 앉아서 죽기를
구하여 가로되 여호와여 넉넉하오니 지금 내 생명을 취하옵소서 나는 내 열조보다
낫지 못하니이다 하고
19:4 While he himself went a day's journey into the waste land, and took a seat under
a broom-plant, desiring for himself only death; for he said, It is enough: now,
O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.
19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and
sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die;
and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better
than my fathers.
19:5 로뎀나무 아래 누워 자더니 천사가 어루만지며 이르되 일어나서 먹으라 하는지라
19:5 And stretching himself on the earth, he went to sleep under the broom-plant; but
an angel, touching him, said to him, Get up and have some food.
19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel
touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
19:6 본즉 머리맡에 숯불에 구운 떡과 한 병 물이 있더라 이에 먹고 마시고 다시
누웠더니
19:6 And looking up, he saw by his head a cake cooked on the stones and a bottle of water.
So he took food and drink and went to sleep again.
19:6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baked on the coals, and
a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
19:7 여호와의 사자가 또 다시 와서 어루만지며 이르되 일어나서 먹으라 네가
길을 이기지 못할까 하노라 하는지라
19:7 And the angel of the Lord came again a second time, and touching him said, Get up
and have some food, or the journey will be overmuch for your strength.
19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him,
and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for you.
19:8 이에 일어나 먹고 마시고 그 식물의 힘을 의지하여 사십 주 사십 야를 행하여
하나님의 산 호렙에 이르니라
19:8 So he got up and took food and drink, and in the strength of that food he went on
for forty days and nights, to Horeb, the mountain of God.
19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that
food forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
19:9 ○ 엘리야가 그 곳 굴에 들어가 거기서 유하더니 여호와의 말씀이 저에게
임하여 이르시되 엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
19:9 And there he went into a hole in the rock for the night; then the word of the Lord
came to him, saying, What are you doing here, Elijah?
19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the
word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What do you here, Elijah?
19:10 저가 대답하되 내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니
이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을
죽였음이오며 오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
19:10 And he said, I have been burning for the honour of the Lord, the God of armies;
for the children of Israel have not kept your agreement; they have made destruction
of your altars, and have put your prophets to death with the sword: till I, even
I, am the only one living; and now they are attempting to take away my life.
19:10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for
the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down yours altars,
and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they
seek my life, to take it away.
19:11 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 나가서 여호와의 앞에서 산에 섰으라 하시더니
여호와께서 지나가시는데 여호와의 앞에 크고 강한 바람이 산을 가르고 바위를 부수나
바람 가운데 여호와께서 계시지 아니하며 바람 후에 지진이 있으나 지진 가운데도
여호와께서 계시지 아니하며
19:11 Then he said, Go out and take your place on the mountain before the Lord. Then the
Lord went by, and mountains were parted by the force of a great wind, and rocks
were broken before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind
there was an earth-shock, but the Lord was not in the earth-shock.
19:11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And,
behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains,
and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind:
and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
19:12 또 지진 후에 불이 있으나 불 가운데도 여호와께서 계시지 아니하더니 불
후에 세미한 소리가 있는지라
19:12 And after the earth-shock a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the
fire, the sound of a soft breath.
19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire:
and after the fire a still small voice.
19:13 엘리야가 듣고 겉옷으로 얼굴을 가리우고 나가 굴 어귀에 서매 소리가 있어
저에게 임하여 가라사대 엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
19:13 And Elijah, hearing it, went out, covering his face with his robe, and took his
place in the opening of the hole. And there a voice came to him saying, What are
you doing here, Elijah?
19:13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his
mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold,
there came a voice unto him, and said, What do you here, Elijah?
19:14 저가 대답하되 내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니
이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을
죽였음이오며 오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
19:14 And he said, I have been burning for the honour of the Lord, the God of armies;
for the children of Israel have not kept your agreement; they have had your altars
broken down, and have put your prophets to death with the sword: till I, even I,
am the only one living; and now they are attempting to take away my life.
19:14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because
the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down yours altars,
and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they
seek my life, to take it away.
19:15 ○ 여호와께서 저에게 이르시되 너는 네 길을 돌이켜 광야로 말미암아 다메섹에
가서 이르거든 하사엘에게 기름을 부어 아람 왕이 되게 하고
19:15 And the Lord said to him, Go back on your way through the waste land to Damascus;
and when you come there, put the holy oil on Hazael to make him king over Aram;
19:15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on your way to the wilderness
of Damascus: and when you come, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
19:16 너는 또 님시의 아들 예후에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕이 되게 하고 또
아벨므흘라 사밧의 아들 엘리사에게 기름을 부어 너를 대신하여 선지자가 되게 하라
19:16 And on Jehu, son of Nimshi, making him king over Israel; and on Elisha, the son
of Shaphat of Abel-meholah, to be prophet in your place.
19:16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shall you anoint to be king over Israel:
and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shall you anoint to be prophet
in your room.
19:17 하사엘의 칼을 피하는 자를 예후가 죽일 것이요 예후의 칼을 피하는 자를
엘리사가 죽이리라
19:17 And it will come about that the man who gets away safe from the sword of Hazael,
Jehu will put to death; and whoever gets away safe from the sword of Jehu, Elisha
will put to death.
19:17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes the sword of Hazael
shall Jehu slay: and him that escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
19:18 그러나 내가 이스라엘 가운데 칠천 인을 남기리니 다 무릎을 바알에게 꿇지
아니하고 다 그 입을 바알에게 맞추지 아니한 자니라
19:18 But I will keep safe seven thousand in Israel, all those whose knees have not been
bent to Baal, and whose mouths have given him no kisses.
19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have
not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.
19:19 ○ 엘리야가 거기서 떠나 사밧의 아들 엘리사를 만나니 저가 열 두 겨리
소를 앞세우고 밭을 가는데 자기는 열 둘째 겨리와 함께 있더라 엘리야가 그리로
건너가서 겉옷을 그의 위에 던졌더니
19:19 So he went away from there and came across Elisha, the son of Shaphat, ploughing
with twelve yoke of oxen, he himself walking with the twelfth; and Elijah went up
to him and put his robe on him.
19:19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was
plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah
passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
19:20 저가 소를 버리고 엘리야에게로 달려가서 이르되 청컨대 나로 내 부모와
입맞추게 하소서 그리한 후에 내가 당신을 따르리이다 엘리야가 저에게 이르되 돌아가라
내가 네게 어떻게 행하였느냐 하니라
19:20 And letting the oxen be where they were, he came running after Elijah, and said,
Only let me give a kiss to my father and mother, and then I will come after you.
But he said to him, Go back again; for what have I done to you?
19:20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray
you, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you. And he said unto
him, Go back again: for what have I done to you?
19:21 엘리사가 저를 떠나 돌아가서 소 한 겨리를 취하여 잡고 소의 기구를 불살라
그 고기를 삶아 백성에게 주어 먹게 하고 일어나 가서 엘리야를 좇으며 수종 들었더라
19:21 And he went back, and took the oxen and put them to death, and cooking their flesh
with the yokes of the oxen, he gave the people a feast. Then he got up and went
after Elijah and became his servant.
19:21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them,
and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people,
and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto
him.
20:1 아람 왕 벤하닷이 그 군대를 다 모으니 왕 삼십 이 인이 저와 함께 있고 또
말과 병거들이 있더라 이에 올라가서 사마리아를 에워싸고 치며
20:1 Now Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got all his army together, and thirty-two kings with
him, and horses and carriages of war; he went up and made war on Samaria, shutting
it in.
20:1 And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there
were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots; and he went up
and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.
20:2 사자들을 성중 이스라엘 왕 아합에게 보내어 이르기를 벤하닷은 이르노니
20:2 And he sent representatives into the town to Ahab, king of Israel;
20:2 And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said
unto him, Thus says Benhadad,
20:3 네 은금은 내 것이요 네 처들과 네 자녀들의 아름다운 자도 내 것이니라
하매
20:3 And they said to him, Ben-hadad says, Your silver and your gold are mine; and your
wives and children are mine.
20:3 Your silver and your gold is mine; your wives also and your children,
even the best, are mine.
20:4 이스라엘 왕이 대답하여 말하기를 내 주 왕이여 왕의 말씀 같이 나와 나의
것은 다 왕의 것이니이다 하였더니
20:4 And the king of Israel sent him an answer saying, As you say, my lord king, I am
yours with all I have.
20:4 And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according
to your saying, I am yours, and all that I have.
20:5 사자가 다시 와서 이르기를 벤하닷은 이르노라 내가 이미 네게 보내어 말하기를
너는 네 은금과 처들과 자녀들을 내게 붙이라 하였거니와
20:5 Then the representatives came back again, and said, These are the words of Ben-hadad:
I sent to you saying, Give up to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your
children;
20:5 And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaks Benhadad, saying,
Although I have sent unto you, saying, You shall deliver me your silver, and
your gold, and your wives, and your children;
20:6 내일 이맘때에 내가 내 신복을 네게 보내리니 저희가 네 집과 네 신복의
집을 수탐하여 무릇 네 눈이 기뻐하는 것을 그 손으로 잡아 가져가리라 한지라
20:6 But I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, to make a search through
your house and the houses of your people, and everything which is pleasing in your
eyes they will take away in their hands.
20:6 Yet I will send my servants unto you tomorrow about this time, and they
shall search yours house, and the houses of your servants; and it shall be,
that whatsoever is pleasant in yours eyes, they shall put it in their hand,
and take it away.
20:7 이에 이스라엘 왕이 나라의 장로를 다 불러 이르되 너희는 이 사람이 잔해하려고
구하는 줄을 자세히 알라 저가 나의 처들과 자녀들과 은금을 취하려고 사람을 내게
보내었으나 내가 거절치 못하였노라
20:7 Then the king of Israel sent for all the responsible men of the land, and said,
Now will you take note and see the evil purpose of this man: he sent for my wives
and my children, my silver and my gold, and I did not keep them back.
20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said,
Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeks mischief: for he sent unto me for
my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied
him not.
20:8 모든 장로와 백성들이 다 왕께 고하되 왕은 듣지도 말고 허락지도 마옵소서
한지라
20:8 And all the responsible men and the people said to him, Do not give attention to
him or do what he says.
20:8 And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto
him, nor consent.
20:9 그러므로 왕이 벤하닷의 사자에게 이르되 너희는 내 주 왕께 고하기를 왕이
처음에 보내어 종에게 구하신 것은 내가 다 그대로 하려니와 이것은 내가 할 수 없나이다
하라 사자들이 돌아가서 고하니라
20:9 So he said to the representatives of Ben-hadad, Say to my lord the king, All the
orders you sent the first time I will do; but this thing I may not do. And the representatives
went back with this answer.
20:9 Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad, Tell my lord the
king, All that you did send in order to your servant at the first I will do:
but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word
again.
20:10 벤하닷이 다시 저에게 보내어 이르되 사마리아의 부스러진 것이 나를 좇는
백성의 무리의 손에 채우기에 족할 것 같으면 신들이 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내림이 마땅하니라
하매
20:10 Then Ben-hadad sent to him, saying, May the gods' punishment be on me if there is
enough of the dust of Samaria for all the people at my feet to take some in their
hands.
20:10 And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more
also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that
follow me.
20:11 이스라엘 왕이 대답하여 가로되 갑옷 입은 자가 갑옷 벗는 자 같이 자랑치
못할 것이라 하라 하니라
20:11 And the king of Israel said in answer, Say to him, The time for loud talk is not
when a man is putting on his arms, but when he is taking them off.
20:11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that
girds on his harness boast himself as he that puts it off.
20:12 벤하닷이 왕들과 장막에서 마시다가 이 말을 듣고 그 신복에게 이르되 너희는
진을 베풀라 하매 곧 성을 향하여 진을 베푸니라
20:12 Now when this answer was given to Ben-hadad, he was drinking with the kings in the
tents, and he said to his men, Take up your positions. So they put themselves in
position for attacking the town.
20:12 And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking,
he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves
in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.
20:13 ○ 한 선지자가 이스라엘 왕 아합에게 나아가서 가로되 여호와의 말씀이
네가 이 큰 무리를 보느냐 내가 오늘 저희를 네 손에 붙이리니 너는 내가 여호와인
줄
알리라 하셨나이다
20:13 Then a prophet came up to Ahab, king of Israel, and said, The Lord says, Have you
seen all this great army? See, I will give it into your hands today, and you will
see that I am the Lord.
20:13 And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying,
Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver
it into yours hand this day; and you shall know that I am the LORD.
20:14 아합이 가로되 누구로 하시리이까 대답하되 여호와의 말씀이 각 도의 방백의
소년들로 하리라 하셨나이다 아합이 가로되 누가 싸움을 시작하리이까 대답하되 왕이니이다
20:14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, The Lord says, By the servants of the chiefs
who are over the divisions of the land. Then he said, By whom is the fighting to
be started? And he made answer, By you.
20:14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus says the LORD, Even by the
young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the
battle? And he answered, You.
20:15 아합이 이에 각 도의 방백의 소년들을 계수하니 이백 삼십 이 인이요 그 외에
모든 백성 곧 이스라엘의 모든 자손을 계수하니 칠천 인이더라
20:15 Then he got together the servants of all the chiefs who were over the divisions
of the land, two hundred and thirty-two of them; and after them, he got together
all the people, all the children of Israel, seven thousand.
20:15 Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and
they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people,
even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.
20:16 ○ 저희가 오정에 나가니 벤하닷은 장막에서 돕는 왕 삼십 이 인으로 더불어
마시고 취한 중이라
20:16 And in the middle of the day they went out. But Ben-hadad was drinking in the tents
with the thirty-two kings who were helping him.
20:16 And they went out at noon. But Benhadad was drinking himself drunk
in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.
20:17 각 도의 방백의 소년들이 먼저 나갔더라 벤하닷이 탐지군을 보내었더니
저희가 회보하여 가로되 사마리아에서 사람들이 나오더이다 하매
20:17 And the servants of the chiefs who were over the divisions of the land went forward
first; and when Ben-hadad sent out, they gave him the news, saying, Men have come
out from Samaria.
20:17 And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and
Benhadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria.
20:18 저가 이르되 화친하러 나올지라도 사로잡고 싸우러 나올지라도 사로잡으라
하니라
20:18 And he said, If they have come out for peace, take them living, and if they have
come out for war, take them living.
20:18 And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or
whether they be come out for war, take them alive.
20:19 각 도의 방백의 소년들과 저희를 좇는 군대들이 성에서 나가서
20:19 So the servants of the chiefs of the divisions of the land went out of the town,
with the army coming after them.
20:19 So these young men of the princes of the provinces came out of the
city, and the army which followed them.
20:20 각각 적군을 쳐죽이매 아람 사람이 도망하는지라 이스라엘이 쫓으니 아람
왕 벤하닷이 말을 타고 마병으로 더불어 도망하여 면하니라
20:20 And every one of them put his man to death, and the Aramaeans went in flight with
Israel after them; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got away safely on a horse with
his horsemen.
20:20 And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued
them: and Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.
20:21 이스라엘 왕이 나가서 말과 병거를 치고 또 아람 사람을 쳐서 크게 도륙하였더라
20:21 And the king of Israel went out and took the horses and the war-carriages, and made
great destruction among the Aramaeans.
20:21 And the king of Israel went out, and stroke the horses and chariots,
and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.
20:22 ○ 그 선지자가 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 가로되 왕은 가서 힘을 기르고
왕의 행할 일을 알고 준비하소서 해가 돌아오면 아람 왕이 왕을 치러 오리이다 하니라
20:22 Then the prophet came up to the king of Israel, and said to him, Now make yourself
strong, and take care what you do, or a year from now the king of Aram will come
up against you again.
20:22 And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go,
strengthen yourself, and mark, and see what you do: for at the return of the
year the king of Syria will come up against you.
20:23 아람 왕의 신복들이 왕께 고하되 저희의 신은 산의 신이므로 저희가 우리보다
강하였거니와 우리가 만일 평지에서 저희와 싸우면 정녕 저희보다 강할지라
20:23 Then the king of Aram's servants said to him, Their god is a god of the hills; that
is why they were stronger than we: but if we make an attack on them in the lowlands,
we will certainly be stronger than they.
20:23 And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are
gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against
them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.
20:24 왕은 이 일을 행하실지니 곧 왕들을 제하여 각각 그 곳에서 떠나게 하고
저희 대신에 장관들을 두시고
20:24 This is what you have to do: take away the kings from their positions, and put captains
in their places;
20:24 And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place,
and put captains in their rooms:
20:25 또 왕의 잃어버린 군대와 같은 군대를 왕을 위하여 충수하고 말도 말대로,
병거도 병거대로 충수하고 우리가 평지에서 저희와 싸우면 정녕 저희보다 강하리이다
왕이 그 말을 듣고 그리하니라
20:25 And get together another army like the one which came to destruction, horse for
horse, and carriage for carriage; and let us make war on them in the lowlands, and
certainly we will be stronger than they. And he gave ear to what they said, and
did so.
20:25 And number you an army, like the army that you have lost, horse for
horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain,
and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice,
and did so.
20:26 ○ 해가 돌아오매 벤하닷이 아람 사람을 점고하고 아벡으로 올라와서 이스라엘과
싸우려 하매
20:26 So, a year later, Ben-hadad got the Aramaeans together and went up to Aphek to make
war on Israel.
20:26 And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered
the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
20:27 이스라엘 자손도 점고함을 입고 군량을 받고 마주 나가서 저희 앞에 진을
치니 이스라엘은 염소 새끼의 두 적은 떼와 같고 아람 사람은 그 땅에 가득하였더라
20:27 And the children of Israel got themselves together, and food was made ready and
they went against them; the tents of the children of Israel were like two little
flocks of goats before them, but all the country was full of the Aramaeans.
20:27 And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and
went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little
flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.
20:28 때에 하나님의 사람이 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 고하여 가로되 여호와의
말씀이 아람 사람이 말하기를 여호와는 산의 신이요 골짜기의 신은 아니라 하도다
그러므로 내가 이 큰 군대를 다 네 손에 붙이리니 너희는 내가 여호와인 줄 알리라
하셨나이다 하니라
20:28 And a man of God came up and said to the king of Israel, The Lord says, Because
the Aramaeans have said, The Lord is a god of the hills and not of the valleys;
I will give all this great army into your hands, and you will see that I am the
Lord.
20:28 And there came a man of God, and spoke unto the king of Israel, and
said, Thus says the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of
the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this
great multitude into yours hand, and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.
20:29 진이 서로 대한 지 칠 일이라 제 칠 일에 접전하여 이스라엘 자손이 하루에
아람 보병 십만을 죽이매
20:29 Now the two armies kept their positions facing one another for seven days. And on
the seventh day the fight was started; and the children of Israel put to the sword
a hundred thousand Aramaean footmen in one day.
20:29 And they pitched one opposite to the other seven days. And so it was,
that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew
of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.
20:30 그 남은 자는 아벡으로 도망하여 성읍으로 들어갔더니 그 성이 그 남은 자
이만 칠천 위에 무너지고 벤하닷은 도망하여 성읍에 이르러 골방으로 들어가니라
20:30 But the rest went in flight to Aphek, into the town, where a wall came down on the
twenty-seven thousand who were still living. And Ben-hadad went in flight into the
town, into an inner room.
20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon
twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and
came into the city, into an inner chamber.
20:31 ○ 그 신복들이 저에게 고하되 우리가 들은즉 이스라엘 집의 왕들은 인자한
왕이라 하니 만일 우리가 굵은 베로 허리를 묶고 테두리를 머리에 이고 이스라엘
왕에게로 나아가면 저가 혹시 왕의 생명을 살리리이다 하고
20:31 Then his servants said to him, It is said that the kings of Israel are full of mercy:
let us then put on haircloth, and cords on our heads, and go to the king of Israel;
it may be that he will give you your life.
20:31 And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the
kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray you, put sackcloth
on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: possibly
he will save your life.
20:32 저희가 굵은 베로 허리를 묶고 테두리를 머리에 이고 이스라엘 왕에게 이르러
가로되 왕의 종 벤하닷이 청하기를 나의 생명을 살려 주옵소서 하더이다 아합이 가로되
저가 오히려 살았느냐 저는 나의 형제니라
20:32 So they put on haircloth, and cords on their heads, and came to the king of Israel
and said, Your servant Ben-hadad says, Let me now keep my life. And he said, Is
he still living? he is my brother.
20:32 So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads,
and came to the king of Israel, and said, Your servant Benhadad says, I pray
you, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
20:33 그 사람들이 징조로 여기고 그 말을 얼른 받아 대답하여 가로되 벤하닷은
왕의 형제니이다 왕이 가로되 너희는 가서 저를 인도하여 오라 벤하닷이 이에 왕에게
나아오니 왕이 저를 병거에 올린지라
20:33 Now the men took it as a sign, and quickly took up his words; and they said, Ben-hadad
is your brother. Then he said, Go and get him. So Ben-hadad came out to him and
he made him get up into his carriage.
20:33 Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from
him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Your brother Benhadad. Then he
said, Go all of you, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused
him to come up into the chariot.
20:34 벤하닷이 왕께 고하되 내 부친이 당신의 부친에게서 빼앗은 모든 성읍을
내가 돌려보내리이다 또 나의 부친이 사마리아에서 만든 것 같이 당신도 다메섹에서
당신을 위하여 거리를 만드소서 아합이 가로되 내가 이 약조로 당신을 놓으리라 하고
이에 더불어 약조하고 저를 놓았더라
20:34 And Ben-hadad said to him, The towns my father took from your father I will give
back; and you may make streets for yourself in Damascus as my father did in Samaria.
And as for me, at the price of this agreement you will let me go. So he made an
agreement with him and let him go.
20:34 And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from
your father, I will restore; and you shall make streets for you in Damascus,
as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send you away with this
covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
20:35 ○ 선지자의 무리 중 한 사람이 여호와의 말씀으로 그 동무에게 이르되
너는 나를 치라 하였더니 그 사람이 치기를 싫어 하는지라
20:35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbour by the word
of the Lord, Give me a wound. But the man would not.
20:35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour
in the word of the LORD, Strike me, I pray you. And the man refused to strike
him.
20:36 저가 그 사람에게 이르되 네가 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 아니하였으니 네가
나를 떠나갈 때에 사자가 너를 죽이리라 그 사람이 저의 곁을 떠나가더니 사자가
그를 만나 죽였더라
20:36 Then he said to him, Because you have not given ear to the voice of the Lord, straight
away when you have gone from me a lion will put you to death. And when he had gone,
straight away a lion came rushing at him and put him to death.
20:36 Then said he unto him, Because you have not obeyed the voice of the
LORD, behold, as soon as you are departed from me, a lion shall slay you. And
as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.
20:37 저가 또 다른 사람을 만나 가로되 너는 나를 치라 하매 그 사람이 저를
치되 상하도록 친지라
20:37 Then he came across another man, and said, Give me a wound. And the man gave him
a blow wounding him.
20:37 Then he found another man, and said, Strike me, I pray you. And the
man stroke him, so that in smiting he wounded him.
20:38 선지자가 가서 수건으로 그 눈을 가리워 변형하고 길 가에서 왕을 기다리다가
20:38 So the prophet went away, and pulling his head-band over his eyes to keep his face
covered, took his place by the road waiting for the king.
20:38 So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised
himself with ashes upon his face.
20:39 왕이 지나갈 때에 소리 질러 왕을 불러 가로되 종이 전장 가운데 나갔더니
한 사람이 돌이켜 어떤 사람을 끌고 내게로 와서 말하기를 이 사람을 지키라 만일
저를 잃어버리면 네 생명으로 저의 생명을 대신하거나 그렇지 아니하면 네가 은 한
달란트를 내어야 하리라 하였거늘
20:39 And when the king went by, crying out to him he said, Your servant went out into
the fight; and a man came out to me with another man and said, Keep this man: if
by any chance he gets away, your life will be the price of his life, or you will
have to give a talent of silver in payment.
20:39 And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Your
servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside,
and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing,
then shall your life be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.
20:40 종이 이리저리 일볼 동안에 저가 없어졌나이다 이스라엘 왕이 저에게 이르되
네가 스스로 결정하였으니 그대로 당하여야 하리라
20:40 But while your servant was turning this way and that, he was gone. Then the king
of Israel said to him, You are responsible; you have given the decision against
yourself.
20:40 And as your servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king
of Israel said unto him, So shall your judgment be; yourself have decided it.
20:41 저가 급히 그 눈에 가리운 수건을 벗으니 이스라엘 왕이 저는 선지자 중
한 사람인 줄 알아본지라
20:41 Then he quickly took the head-band from his eyes; and the king of Israel saw that
he was one of the prophets.
20:41 And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king
of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.
20:42 저가 왕께 고하되 여호와의 말씀이 내가 멸하기로 작정한 사람을 네 손으로
놓았은즉 네 목숨은 저의 목숨을 대신하고 네 백성은 저의 백성을 대신하리라 하셨나이다
20:42 And he said to him, These are the words of the Lord: Because you have let go from
your hands the man whom I had put to the curse, your life will be taken for his
life, and your people for his people.
20:42 And he said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Because you have let go out
of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life
shall go for his life, and your people for his people.
20:43 이스라엘 왕이 근심하고 답답하여 그 궁으로 돌아가려고 사마리아에 이르니라
20:43 Then the king of Israel went back to his house, bitter and angry, and came to Samaria.
20:43 And the king of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased, and
came to Samaria.
21:1 그 후에 이 일이 있으니라 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 이스르엘에 포도원이 있어
사마리아 왕 아합의 궁에서 가깝더니
21:1 Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vine-garden in Jezreel, near the house of Ahab,
king of Samaria.
21:1 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had
a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
21:2 아합이 나봇에게 일러 가로되 네 포도원이 내 궁 곁에 가까이 있으니 내게
주어 나물 밭을 삼게 하라 내가 그 대신에 그보다 더 아름다운 포도원을 네게 줄
것이요 만일 합의하면 그 값을 돈으로 네게 주리라
21:2 And Ahab said to Naboth, Give me your vine-garden so that I may have it for a garden
of sweet plants, for it is near my house; and let me give you a better vine-garden
in exchange, or, if it seems good to you, let me give you its value in money.
21:2 And Ahab spoke unto Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard, that I may
have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will
give you for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to you, I will
give you the worth of it in money.
21:3 나봇이 아합에게 말하되 내 열조의 유업을 왕에게 주기를 여호와께서 금하실지로다
하니
21:3 But Naboth said to Ahab, By the Lord, far be it from me to give you the heritage
of my fathers.
21:3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the
inheritance of my fathers unto you.
21:4 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 아합에게 대답하여 이르기를 내 조상의 유업을 왕께
줄 수 없다 함을 인하여 아합이 근심하고 답답하여 궁으로 돌아와서 침상에 누워
얼굴을 돌이키고 식사를 아니하니
21:4 So Ahab came into his house bitter and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said
to him, I will not give you the heritage of my fathers. And stretching himself on
the bed with his face turned away, he would take no food.
21:4 And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word
which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give
you the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned
away his face, and would eat no bread.
21:5 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 나아와 가로되 왕의 마음에 무엇을 근심하여 식사를
아니하나이까
21:5 But Jezebel, his wife, came to him and said, Why is your spirit so bitter that you
have no desire for food?
21:5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is your spirit
so sad, that you eat no bread?
21:6 왕이 이르되 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 말하여 이르기를 네 포도원을
내게 주되 돈으로 바꾸거나 만일 네가 좋아하면 내가 그 대신에 포도원을 네게 주리라
한즉 저가 대답하기를 내가 내 포도원을 네게 주지 않겠노라 함을 인함이로라
21:6 And he said to her, Because I was talking to Naboth the Jezreelite, and I said to
him, Let me have your vine-garden for a price, or, if it is pleasing to you, I will
give you another vine-garden for it: and he said, I will not give you my vine-garden.
21:6 And he said unto her, Because I spoke unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and
said unto him, Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it please you, I
will give you another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give you
my vineyard.
21:7 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 이르되 왕이 이제 이스라엘 나라를 다스리시나이까
일어나 식사를 하시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을
왕께 드리리이다 하고
21:7 Then Jezebel, his wife, said, Are you now the ruler of Israel? Get up, take food,
and let your heart be glad; I will give you the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite.
21:7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Do you now govern the kingdom of
Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let yours heart be merry: I will give you
the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
21:8 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 쓰고 그 인을 쳐서 그 성에서 나봇과 함께 사는
장로와 귀인들에게 보내니
21:8 So she sent a letter in Ahab's name, stamped with his stamp, to the responsible
men and the chiefs who were in authority with Naboth.
21:8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal,
and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city,
dwelling with Naboth.
21:9 그 편지 사연에 이르기를 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉힌
후에
21:9 And in the letter she said, Let a time of public sorrow be fixed, and put Naboth
at the head of the people;
21:9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth
on high among the people:
21:10 비류 두 사람을 그 앞에 마주 앉히고 저에게 대하여 증거하기를 네가 하나님과
왕을 저주하였다 하게 하고 곧 저를 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이라 하였더라
21:10 And get two good-for-nothing persons to come before him and give witness that he
has been cursing God and the king. Then take him out and have him stoned to death.
21:10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against
him, saying, You did blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and
stone him, that he may die.
21:11 ○ 그 성 사람 곧 그 성에 사는 장로와 귀인들이 이세벨의 분부 곧 저가
자기들에게 보낸 편지에 쓴 대로 하여
21:11 So the responsible men and the chiefs who were in authority in his town, did as
Jezebel had said in the letter she sent them.
21:11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the
inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written
in the letters which she had sent unto them.
21:12 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히매
21:12 They gave orders for a day of public sorrow, and put Naboth at the head of the people.
21:12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
21:13 때에 비류 두 사람이 들어와서 그 앞에 앉고 백성 앞에서 나봇에게 대하여
증거를 지어 이르기를 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하매 무리가 저를 성 밖으로
끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이고
21:13 And the two good-for-nothing persons came in and took their seats before him and
gave witness against Naboth, in front of the people, saying, Naboth has been cursing
God and the king. Then they took him outside the town and had him stoned to death.
21:13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him:
and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence
of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried
him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
21:14 이세벨에게 통보하기를 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다 하니
21:14 And they sent word to Jezebel, saying, Naboth has been stoned and is dead.
21:14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
21:15 이세벨이 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다 함을 듣고 아합에게 이르되 일어나서
그 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈으로 바꾸어 주기를 싫어하던 포도원을 취하소서 나봇이
살아 있지 아니하고 죽었나이다
21:15 Then Jezebel, hearing that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, said to Ahab, Get
up and take as your heritage the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he
would not give you for money, for Naboth is no longer living but is dead.
21:15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and
was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard
of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money: for Naboth
is not alive, but dead.
21:16 아합이 나봇의 죽었다 함을 듣고 곧 일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을
취하러 그리로 내려갔더라
21:16 So Ahab, hearing that Naboth was dead, went down to the vine-garden of Naboth the
Jezreelite to take it as his heritage.
21:16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab
rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession
of it.
21:17 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
21:17 And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:17 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:18 너는 일어나 내려가서 사마리아에 거하는 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나라 저가
나봇의 포도원을 취하러 그리로 내려갔나니
21:18 Go down to Ahab, king of Israel, in Samaria; see, he is in the vine-garden of Naboth
the Jezreelite, where he has gone to take it as his heritage.
21:18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold,
he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he is gone down to possess it.
21:19 너는 저에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 네가 죽이고 또 빼앗았느냐
하셨다 하고 또 저에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 곳에서
개들이 네 피 곧 네 몸의 피도 핥으리라 하셨다 하라
21:19 Say to him, The Lord says, Have you put a man to death and taken his heritage? Then
say to him, The Lord says, In the place where dogs have been drinking the blood
of Naboth, there will your blood become the drink of dogs.
21:19 And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD, Have you
killed, and also taken possession? And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus
says the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs
lick your blood, even yours.
21:20 아합이 엘리야에게 이르되 나의 대적이여 네가 나를 찾았느냐 대답하되
내가 찾았노라 네가 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으므로
21:20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you come face to face with me, O my hater? And he
said, I have come to you because you have given yourself up to do evil in the eyes
of the Lord.
21:20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O mine enemy? And he answered,
I have found you: because you have sold yourself to work evil in the sight of
the LORD.
21:21 여호와의 말씀이 내가 재앙을 네게 내려 너를 쓸어 버리되 네게 속한 남자는
이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자를 다 멸할 것이요
21:21 See, I will send evil on you and put an end to you completely, cutting off from
Ahab every male child, him who is shut up and him who goes free in Israel;
21:21 Behold, I will bring evil upon you, and will take away your posterity,
and will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall, and him that is
shut up and left in Israel,
21:22 또 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집처럼 되게 하고 아히야의 아들
바아사의 집처럼 되게 하리니 이는 네가 나의 노를 격동하고 이스라엘로 범죄케 한
까닭이니라 하셨고
21:22 And I will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and like
the family of Baasha, the son of Ahijah, because you have made me angry, and have
made Israel do evil.
21:22 And will make yours house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat,
and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith
you have provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
21:23 이세벨에게 대하여도 여호와께서 말씀하여 가라사대 개들이 이스르엘 성
곁에서 이세벨을 먹을지라
21:23 And of Jezebel the Lord said, Jezebel will become food for dogs in the heritage
of Jezreel.
21:23 And of Jezebel also spoke the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel
by the wall of Jezreel.
21:24 아합에게 속한 자로서 성읍에서 죽은 자는 개들이 먹고 들에서 죽은 자는
공중의 새가 먹으리라 하셨느니라 하니
21:24 Any man of the family of Ahab who comes to his death in the town will become food
for the dogs; and he who comes to his death in the open country will be food for
the birds of the air.
21:24 Him that dies of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that
dies in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
21:25 예로부터 아합과 같이 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행한 자가 없음은
저가 그 아내 이세벨에게 충동되었음이라
21:25 (There was no one like Ahab, who gave himself up to do evil in the eyes of the Lord,
moved to it by Jezebel his wife.
21:25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness
in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
21:26 저가 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 사람의 모든 행한
것 같이 우상에게 복종하여 심히 가증하게 행하였더라
21:26 He did a very disgusting thing in going after false gods, doing all the things the
Amorites did, whom the Lord sent out before the children of Israel.)
21:26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things
as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
21:27 ○ 아합이 이 모든 말씀을 들을 때에 그 옷을 찢고 굵은 베로 몸을 동이고
금식하고 굵은 베에 누우며 행보도 천천히 한지라
21:27 Hearing these words, Ahab, in great grief, put haircloth on his flesh and went without
food, sleeping in haircloth, and going about quietly.
21:27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his
clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth,
and went softly.
21:28 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
21:28 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:28 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
21:29 아합이 내 앞에서 겸비함을 네가 보느냐 저가 내 앞에서 겸비함을 인하여
내가 재앙을 저의 시대에 내리지 아니하고 그 아들의 시대에야 그 집에 재앙을 내리리라
하셨더라
21:29 Do you see how Ahab has made himself low before me? because he has made himself
low before me, I will not send the evil in his life-time, but in his son's time
I will send the evil on his family.
21:29 See you how Ahab humbles himself before me? because he humbles himself
before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will
I bring the evil upon his house.
22:1 아람과 이스라엘 사이에 전쟁이 없이 삼 년을 지내었더라
22:1 Now for three years there was no war between Aram and Israel.
22:1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
22:2 제 삼 년에 유다 왕 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 내려가매
22:2 And it came about in the third year, that Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, came down
to the king of Israel.
22:2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of
Judah came down to the king of Israel.
22:3 이스라엘 왕이 그 신복에게 이르되 길르앗 라못은 본래 우리의 것인 줄을
너희가 알지 못하느냐 우리가 어찌 아람 왕의 손에서 취하지 아니하고 잠잠히 있으리요
하고
22:3 And the king of Israel said to his servants, Do you not see that Ramoth-gilead is
ours? and we are doing nothing to get it back from the hands of the king of Aram.
22:3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know all of you that
Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of
the king of Syria?
22:4 여호사밧에게 이르되 당신은 나와 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 싸우시겠느뇨
여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 나는 당신과 일반이요 내 백성은 당신의 백성과
일반이요 내 말들도 당신의 말들과 일반이니이다
22:4 And he said to Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead to make war? And
Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are: my people as your people,
my horses as your horses.
22:4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to battle to Ramothgilead?
And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are, my people as your
people, my horses as your horses.
22:5 ○ 여호사밧이 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 청컨대 먼저 여호와의 말씀이
어떠하신지 물어보소서
22:5 Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Let us now get directions from the
Lord.
22:5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray you, at
the word of the LORD to day.
22:6 이스라엘 왕이 이에 선지자 사백 인쯤 모으고 저희에게 이르되 내가 길르앗
라못에 가서 싸우랴 말랴 저희가 가로되 올라가소서 주께서 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다
22:6 So the king of Israel got all the prophets together, about four hundred men, and
said to them, Am I to go to Ramoth-gilead to make war or not? And they said, Go
up: for the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred
men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall
I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand
of the king.
22:7 여호사밧이 가로되 이 외에 우리가 물을 만한 여호와의 선지자가 여기 있지
아니하니이까
22:7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no other prophet of the Lord here from whom we may
get directions?
22:7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides,
that we might enquire of him?
22:8 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 오히려 이믈라의 아들 미가야 한 사람이
있으니 저로 말미암아 여호와께 물을 수 있으나 저는 내게 대하여 길한 일은 예언하지
아니하고 흉한 일만 예언하기로 내가 저를 미워하나이다 여호사밧이 가로되 왕은
그런 말씀을 마소서
22:8 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is still one man by whom we may
get directions from the Lord, Micaiah, son of Imlah; but I have no love for him,
for he is a prophet of evil to me and not of good. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not
the king say so.
22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man,
Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him;
for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said,
Let not the king say so.
22:9 이스라엘 왕이 한 내시를 불러 이르되 이믈라의 아들 미가야로 속히 오게
하라 하니라
22:9 Then the king of Israel sent for one of his unsexed servants and said, Go quickly
and come back with Micaiah, the son of Imlah.
22:9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten here Micaiah
the son of Imlah.
22:10 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧이 왕복을 입고 사마리아 문 어귀 광장에서
각기 보좌에 앉았고 모든 선지자가 그 앞에서 예언을 하는데
22:10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, were seated on their
seats of authority, dressed in their robes, by the doorway into Samaria; and all
the prophets were acting as prophets before them.
22:10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on
his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the
gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
22:11 그나아나의 아들 시드기야는 철로 뿔들을 만들어 가지고 말하되 여호와의
말씀이 왕이 이것들로 아람 사람을 찔러 진멸하리라 하셨다 하고
22:11 And Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, made himself horns of iron and said, The Lord
says, Pushing back the Aramaeans with these, you will put an end to them completely.
22:11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said,
Thus says the LORD, With these shall you push the Syrians, until you have consumed
them.
22:12 모든 선지자도 그와 같이 예언하여 이르기를 길르앗 라못으로 올라가 승리를
얻으소서 여호와께서 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다 하더라
22:12 And all the prophets said the same thing, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and it
will go well for you, for the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead,
and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.
22:13 미가야를 부르러 간 사자가 일러 가로되 선지자들의 말이 여출일구하여
왕에게 길하게 하니 청컨대 당신의 말도 저희 중 한 사람의 말처럼 길하게 하소서
22:13 Now the servant who had gone to get Micaiah said to him, See now, all the prophets
with one voice are saying good things to the king; so let your words be like theirs
and say good things.
22:13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spoke unto him, saying,
Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth:
let your word, I pray you, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which
is good.
22:14 미가야가 가로되 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 여호와께서 내게 말씀하시는
것 곧 그것을 내가 말하리라 하고
22:14 And Micaiah said, By the living Lord, whatever the Lord says to me I will say.
22:14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, what the LORD says unto me, that
will I speak.
22:15 이에 왕에게 이르니 왕이 저에게 이르되 미가야야 우리가 길르앗 라못으로
싸우러 가랴 말랴 저가 왕께 이르되 올라가서 승리를 얻으소서 여호와께서 그 성을
왕의 손에 붙이시리이다
22:15 When he came to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, are we to go to Ramoth-gilead
to make war or not? And in answer he said, Go up, and it will go well for you; and
the Lord will give it into the hands of the king.
22:15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall
we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him,
Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
22:16 왕이 저에게 이르되 내가 몇 번이나 너로 맹세케 하여야 네가 여호와의
이름으로 진실한 것으로만 내게 고하겠느냐
22:16 Then the king said to him, Have I not, again and again, put you on your oath to
say nothing to me but what is true in the name of the Lord?
22:16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure you that
you tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
22:17 저가 가로되 내가 보니 온 이스라엘이 목자 없는 양 같이 산에 흩어졌는데
여호와의 말씀이 이 무리가 주인이 없으니 각각 평안히 그 집으로 돌아갈 것이니라
하셨나이다
22:17 Then he said, I saw all Israel wandering on the mountains like sheep without a keeper;
and the Lord said, These have no master: let them go back, every man to his house
in peace.
22:17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that
have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return
every man to his house in peace.
22:18 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 저 사람이 내게 대하여 길한 것을 예언하지
아니하고 흉한 것을 예언하겠다고 당신에게 말씀하지 아니하였나이까
22:18 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not say that he would not be a
prophet of good but of evil?
22:18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you that
he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
22:19 미가야가 가로되 그런즉 왕은 여호와의 말씀을 들으소서 내가 보니 여호와께서
그 보좌에 앉으셨고 하늘의 만군이 그 좌우편에 모시고 서 있는데
22:19 And he said, Give ear now to the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord seated on his
seat of power, with all the army of heaven in their places round him at his right
hand and at his left.
22:19 And he said, Hear you therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD
sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right
hand and on his left.
22:20 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 누가 아합을 꾀어 저로 길르앗 라못에 올라가서
죽게 할꼬 하시니 하나는 이렇게 하겠다 하고 하나는 저렇게 하겠다 하였는데
22:20 And the Lord said, How may Ahab be tricked into going up to Ramoth-gilead to his
death? And one said one thing and one another.
22:20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall
at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
22:21 한 영이 나아와 여호와 앞에 서서 말하되 내가 저를 꾀이겠나이다
22:21 Then a spirit came forward and took his place before the Lord and said, I will get
him to do it by a trick.
22:21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said,
I will persuade him.
22:22 여호와께서 저에게 이르시되 어떻게 하겠느냐 가로되 내가 나가서 거짓말하는
영이 되어 그 모든 선지자의 입에 있겠나이다 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 꾀이겠고
또 이루리라 나가서 그리하라 하셨은즉
22:22 And the Lord said, How? And he said, I will go out and be a spirit of deceit in
the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Your trick will have its effect on him:
go out and do so.
22:22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth,
and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said,
You shall persude him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
22:23 이제 여호와께서 거짓말하는 영을 왕의 이 모든 선지자의 입에 넣으셨고
또 여호와께서 왕에게 대하여 화를 말씀하셨나이다
22:23 And now, see, the Lord has put a spirit of deceit in the mouth of all these your
prophets; and the Lord has said evil against you.
22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth
of all these your prophets, and the LORD has spoken evil concerning you.
22:24 ○ 그나아나의 아들 시드기야가 가까이 와서 미가야의 뺨을 치며 이르되
여호와의 영이 나를 떠나 어디로 말미암아 가서 네게 말씀 하더냐
22:24 Then Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, came near and gave Micaiah a blow on the side
of the face, saying, Where is the spirit of the Lord whose word is in you?
22:24 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and stroke Micaiah on
the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak
unto you?
22:25 미가야가 가로되 네가 골방에 들어가서 숨는 그 날에 보리라
22:25 And Micaiah said, Truly, you will see on that day when you go into an inner room
to keep yourself safe.
22:25 And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall
go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.
22:26 이스라엘 왕이 가로되 미가야를 잡아 부윤 아몬과 왕자 요아스에게로 끌고
돌아가서
22:26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon, the ruler of
the town, and to Joash, the king's son;
22:26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto
Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
22:27 말하기를 왕의 말씀이 이 놈을 옥에 가두고 내가 평안히 돌아올 때까지
고생의 떡과 고생의 물로 먹이라 하라
22:27 And say, It is the king's order that this man is to be put in prison and given prison
food till I come again in peace.
22:27 And say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed
him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
22:28 미가야가 가로되 왕이 참으로 평안히 돌아오시게 될진대 여호와께서 나로
말씀하지 아니하셨으리이다 또 가로되 너희 백성들아 다 들을지어다 하니라
22:28 And Micaiah said, If you come back at all in peace, the Lord has not sent his word
by me.
22:28 And Micaiah said, If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken
by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.
22:29 ○ 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧이 길르앗 라못으로 올라가니라
22:29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, went up to Ramoth-gilead.
22:29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to
Ramothgilead.
22:30 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 나는 변장하고 군중으로 들어가려 하노니
당신은 왕복을 입으소서 하고 이스라엘 왕이 변장하고 군중으로 들어가니라
22:30 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will make a change in my clothing,
so that I do not seem to be the king, and will go into the fight; but do you put
on your robes. So the king of Israel made a change in his dress and went into the
fight.
22:30 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself,
and enter into the battle; but put you on your robes. And the king of Israel
disguised himself, and went into the battle.
22:31 아람 왕이 그 병거의 장관 삼십 이 인에게 명하여 이르기를 너희는 작은 자나
큰 자나 더불어 싸우지 말고 오직 이스라엘 왕과 싸우라 한지라
22:31 Now the king of Aram had given orders to the thirty-two captains of his war-carriages,
saying, Make no attack on small or great, but only on the king of Israel.
22:31 But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had
rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only
with the king of Israel.
22:32 병거의 장관들이 여호사밧을 보고 이르되 이가 필연 이스라엘 왕이라 하고
돌이켜 저와 싸우려 한즉 여호사밧이 소리 지르는지라
22:32 So when the captains of the war-carriages saw Jehoshaphat, they said, Truly, this
is the king of Israel; and turning against him, they came round him, but Jehoshaphat
gave a cry.
22:32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat,
that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight
against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
22:33 병거의 장관들이 저가 이스라엘 왕이 아님을 보고 쫓기를 그치고 돌이켰더라
22:33 And when the captains of the war-carriages saw that he was not the king of Israel,
they went back from going after him.
22:33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that
it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
22:34 한 사람이 우연히 활을 당기어 이스라엘 왕의 갑옷 솔기를 쏜지라 왕이
그 병거 모는 자에게 이르되 내가 부상하였으니 네 손을 돌이켜 나로 군중에서 나가게
하라 하였으나
22:34 And a certain man sent an arrow from his bow without thought of its direction, and
gave the king of Israel a wound where his breastplate was joined to his clothing;
so he said to the driver of his war-carriage, Go to one side and take me away out
of the army, for I am badly wounded.
22:34 And a certain man drew a bow at random, and stroke the king of Israel
between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his
chariot, Turn yours hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
22:35 이 날에 전쟁이 맹렬하였으므로 왕이 병거 가운데 붙들려 서서 아람 사람을
막다가 저녁에 이르러 죽었는데 상처의 피가 흘러 병거 바닥에 고였더라
22:35 But the fight became more violent while the day went on; and the king was supported
in his war-carriage facing the Aramaeans, and the floor of the carriage was covered
with the blood from his wound, and by evening he was dead.
22:35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his
chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the
wound into the midst of the chariot.
22:36 해가 질 즈음에 군중에서 외치는 소리 있어 가로되 각기 성읍으로, 각기
본향으로 하더라
22:36 And about sundown a cry went up from all parts of the army, saying, Let every man
go back to his town and his country, for the king is dead.
22:36 And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down
of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
22:37 ○ 왕이 이미 죽으매 그 시체를 메어 사마리아에 이르러 거기 장사하니라
22:37 And they came to Samaria, and put the king's body to rest in Samaria.
22:37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king
in Samaria.
22:38 그 병거를 사마리아 못에 씻으매 개들이 그 피를 핥았으니 여호와의 하신
말씀과 같이 되었더라 거기는 창기들의 목욕하는 곳이었더라
22:38 And the war-carriage was washed by the pool of Samaria, which was the bathing-place
of the loose women, and the dogs were drinking his blood there, as the Lord had
said.
22:38 And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked
up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD
which he spoke.
22:39 아합의 남은 행적과 무릇 그 행한 일과 그 건축한 상아궁과 그 건축한 모든
성은 이스라엘 왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
22:39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all he did, and his ivory house, and all the
towns of which he was the builder, are they not recorded in the book of the history
of the kings of Israel?
22:39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory
house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written
in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22:40 아합이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 아들 아하시야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
22:40 So Ahab was put to rest with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son became king in his
place.
22:40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his
position.
22:41 ○ 이스라엘 왕 아합 제 사 년에 아사의 아들 여호사밧이 유다 왕이 되니
22:41 And Jehoshaphat, the son of Asa, became king over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab's
rule over Israel.
22:41 And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth
year of Ahab king of Israel.
22:42 여호사밧이 왕이 될 때에 나이 삼십 오 세라 예루살렘에서 이십 오 년을 치리하니라
그 모친의 이름은 아수바라 실히의 딸이더라
22:42 Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he was king for twenty-five
years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah, the daughter of Shilhi.
22:42 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and
he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah
the daughter of Shilhi.
22:43 여호사밧이 그 부친 아사의 모든 길로 행하며 돌이켜 떠나지 아니하고 여호와
보시기에 정직히 행하였으나 산당은 폐하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 오히려 산당에서
제사를 드리며 분향하였더라
22:43 He did as Asa his father had done, not turning away from it, but doing what was
right in the eyes of the Lord; but the high places were not taken away: the people
went on making offerings and burning them in the high places.
22:43 And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside
from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the
high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet
in the high places.
22:44 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕으로 더불어 평화하니라
22:44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
22:44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
22:45 ○ 여호사밧의 남은 사적과 그 베푼 권세와 그 어떻게 전쟁한 것은 다 유다
왕 역대 지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
22:45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his great power, and how he went to
war, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah?
22:45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed,
and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the
kings of Judah?
22:46 저가 그 부친 아사의 시대에 남아 있던 남색하는 자를 그 땅에서 쫓아내었더라
22:46 He put an end to the rest of those who were used for sex purposes in the worship
of the gods, all those who were still in the land in the time of his father Asa.
22:46 And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his
father Asa, he took out of the land.
22:47 그 때에 에돔에는 왕이 없고 섭정왕이 있었더라

gold, but it did not go, because it was broken at Ezion-geber.
22:48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they
went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.
22:49 아합의 아들 아하시야가 여호사밧에게 이르되 나의 종으로 당신의 종과
함께 배에 가게 하라 하나 여호사밧이 허락지 아니하였더라
22:49 Then Ahaziah, the son of Ahab, said to Jehoshaphat, Let my men go with yours in
the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not let them.
22:49 Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants
go with your servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
22:50 여호사밧이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 조상 다윗 성에 그 열조와 함께 장사되고
그 아들 여호람이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
22:50 Then Jehoshaphat went to rest with his fathers, and his body was put into the earth
in the town of David his father; and Jehoram his son became king in his place.
22:50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers
in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his position.
22:51 ○ 유다 왕 여호사밧 제 십 칠 년에 아합의 아들 아하시야가 사마리아에서
이스라엘 왕이 되어 이 년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라
22:51 Ahaziah, the son of Ahab, became king over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth
year of the rule of Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, and he was king over Israel
for two years.
22:51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth
year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
22:52 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 그 아비의 길과 그 어미의 길과 이스라엘로
범죄케 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 길로 행하며
22:52 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, going in the ways of his father and his mother,
and in the ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who made Israel do evil.
22:52 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of
his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son
of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
22:53 바알을 섬겨 숭배하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격동하기를 그 아비의
온갖 행위 같이 하였더라
22:53 He was a servant and worshipper of Baal, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to
wrath, as his father had done.
22:53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD
God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
