15:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
15:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
15:2 Du Menschenkind, was ist das Holz vom Weinstock vor anderm Holz oder eine Rebe vor anderm Holz im Walde?
15:2 Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?
15:3 Nimmt man es auch und macht etwas daraus? Macht man auch nur einen Nagel daraus, daran man etwas hängen kann?
15:3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
15:4 Siehe, man wirft sie ins Feuer, daß es verzehrt wird, daß das Feuer seine beiden Enden verzehrt und sein Mittles versengt; wozu sollte es nun taugen?
15:4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devours both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work?
15:5 Siehe, da es noch ganz war, konnte man nichts daraus machen; wie viel weniger kann nun hinfort etwas daraus gemacht werden, so es das Feuer verzehrt und versengt hat!
15:5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned?
15:6 Darum spricht der HERR HERR: Gleichwie ich das Holz vom Weinstock vor anderm Holz im Walde dem Feuer zu verzehren gebe, also will ich mit den Einwohnern zu Jerusalem auch umgehen
15:6 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15:7 und will mein Angesicht wider sie setzen, daß das Feuer sie fressen soll, ob sie schon aus dem Feuer herausgekommen sind. Und ihr sollt's erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich mein Angesicht wider sie setze
15:7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and all of you shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.
15:8 und das Land wüst mache, darum daß sie mich verschmähen, spricht der HERR HERR.
15:8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord GOD.

16:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
16:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
16:2 Du Menschenkind offenbare der Stadt Jerusalem ihre Greuel und sprich:
16:2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
16:3 So spricht der HERR HERR zu Jerusalem: Dein Geschlecht und deine Geburt ist aus der Kanaaniter Lande, dein Vater aus den Amoritern und deine Mutter aus den Hethitern.
16:3 And say, Thus says the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Your birth and your nativity is of the land of Canaan; your father was an Amorite, and your mother an Hittite.
16:4 Deine Geburt ist also gewesen: Dein Nabel, da du geboren wurdest, ist nicht verschnitten; so hat man dich auch nicht in Wasser gebadet, daß du sauber würdest, noch mit Salz abgerieben noch in Windeln gewickelt.
16:4 And as for your nativity, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, neither were you washed in water to clean you; you were not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
16:5 Denn niemand jammerte dein, daß er sich über dich hätte erbarmt und der Stücke eins dir erzeigt, sondern du wurdest aufs Feld geworfen. Also verachtet war deine Seele, da du geboren warst.
16:5 None eye pitied you, to do any of these unto you, to have compassion upon you; but you were cast out in the open field, to the loathing of your person, in the day that you were born.
16:6 Ich aber ging vor dir vorüber und sah dich in deinem Blut liegen und sprach zu dir, da du so in deinem Blut lagst: Du sollst leben!
16:6 And when I passed by you, and saw you polluted in yours own blood, I said unto you when you were in your blood, Live; yea, I said unto you when you were in your blood, Live.
16:7 Und habe dich erzogen und lassen groß werden wie ein Gewächs auf dem Felde; und warst nun gewachsen und groß und schön geworden. Deine Brüste waren gewachsen und hattest schon lange Haare; aber du warst noch nackt und bloß. {~}
16:7 I have caused you to multiply as the bud of the field, and you have increased and becoming great, and you are come to excellent ornaments: your breasts are fashioned, and yours hair is grown, whereas you were naked and bare.
16:8 Und ich ging vor dir vorüber und sah dich an; und siehe, es war die Zeit, um dich zu werben. Da breitete ich meinen Mantel über dich und bedeckte deine Blöße. Und ich gelobte dir's und begab mich mit dir in einen Bund, spricht der HERR HERR, daß du solltest mein sein.
16:8 Now when I passed by you, and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yea, I swore unto you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord GOD, and you became mine.
16:9 Und ich badete dich im Wasser und wusch dich von all deinem Blut und salbte dich mit Balsam
16:9 Then washed I you with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil.
16:10 und kleidete dich mit gestickten Kleidern und zog dir Schuhe von feinem Leder an; ich gab dir köstliche leinene Kleider und seidene Schleier
16:10 I clothed you also with broidered work, and shod you with badgers' skin, and I girded you about with fine linen, and I covered you with silk.
16:11 und zierte dich mit Kleinoden und legte dir Geschmeide an deine Arme und Kettlein an deinen Hals
16:11 I decked you also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon your hands, and a chain on your neck.
16:12 und gab dir ein Haarband an deine Stirn und Ohrenringe an deine Ohren und eine schöne Krone auf dein Haupt.
16:12 And I put a jewel on your forehead, and earrings in yours ears, and a beautiful crown upon yours head.
16:13 So warst du geziert mit eitel Gold und Silber und gekleidet mit eitel Leinwand, Seide und Gesticktem. Du aßest auch eitel Semmel, Honig und Öl und warst überaus schön und bekamst das Königreich.
16:13 Thus were you decked with gold and silver; and your raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; you did eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and you were exceeding beautiful, and you did prosper into a kingdom.
16:14 Und dein Ruhm erscholl unter die Heiden deiner Schöne halben, welche ganz vollkommen war durch den Schmuck, so ich an dich gehängt hatte, spricht der HERR HERR.
16:14 And your renown went forth among the heathen for your beauty: for it was perfect through my loveliness, which I had put upon you, says the Lord GOD.
16:15 Aber du verließest dich auf deine Schöne; und weil du so gerühmt warst, triebst du Hurerei, also daß du dich einem jeglichen, wer vorüberging, gemein machtest und tatest seinen Willen.
16:15 But you did trust in yours own beauty, and played the harlot because of your renown, and poured out your fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
16:16 Und nahmst von deinen Kleidern und machtest dir bunte Altäre daraus und triebst deine Hurerei darauf, wie nie geschehen ist noch geschehen wird.
16:16 And of your garments you did take, and decked your high places with divers colours, and played the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
16:17 Du nahmst auch dein schönes Gerät, das ich dir von meinem Gold und Silber gegeben hatte, und machtest dir Mannsbilder daraus und triebst deine Hurerei mit ihnen.
16:17 You have also taken your fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made to yourself images of men, and did commit whoredom with them,
16:18 Und nahmst deine bestickten Kleider und bedecktest sie damit und mein Öl und Räuchwerk legtest du ihnen vor.
16:18 And took your broidered garments, and covered them: and you have set mine oil and mine incense before them.
16:19 Meine Speise, die ich dir zu essen gab, Semmel, Öl, Honig, legtest du ihnen vor zum süßen Geruch. Ja es kam dahin, spricht der HERR HERR,
16:19 My food also which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed you, you have even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, says the Lord GOD.
16:20 daß du nahmst deine Söhne und Töchter, die du mir geboren hattest, und opfertest sie denselben zu fressen. Meinst du denn, daß es eine Geringes sei um deine Hurerei,
16:20 Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne unto me, and these have you sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of your whoredoms a small matter,
16:21 daß du meine Kinder schlachtest und läßt sie denselben verbrennen?
16:21 That you have slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
16:22 Und in allen deinen Greueln und Hurerei hast du nie gedacht an die Zeit deiner Jugend, wie bloß und nackt du warst und in deinem Blut lagst.
16:22 And in all yours abominations and your whoredoms you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were polluted in your blood.
16:23 ber alle diese deine Bosheit (ach weh dir, weh dir! spricht der HERR HERR)
16:23 And it came to pass after all your wickedness, (woe, woe unto you! says the LORD GOD;)
16:24 bautest du dir Götzenkapellen und machtest dir Altäre auf allen Gassen;
16:24 That you have also built unto you an eminent place, and have made you an high place in every street.
16:25 und vornan auf allen Straßen bautest du deine Altäre und machtest deine Schöne zu eitel Greuel; du spreiztest deine Beine gegen alle, so vorübergingen, und triebst große Hurerei.
16:25 You have built your high place at every head of the way, and have made your beauty to be abhorred, and have opened your feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied your whoredoms.
16:26 Erstlich triebst du Hurerei mit den Kindern Ägyptens, deinen Nachbarn, die großes Fleisch hatten, und triebst große Hurerei, mich zu reizen.
16:26 You have also committed fornication with the Egyptians your neighbours, great of flesh; and have increased your whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
16:27 Ich aber streckte meine Hand aus wider dich und brach dir an deiner Nahrung ab und übergab dich in den Willen deiner Feinde, der Töchter der Philister, welche sich schämten vor deinem verruchten Wesen.
16:27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished yours ordinary food, and delivered you unto the will of them that hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of your lewd way.
16:28 Darnach triebst du Hurerei mit den Kindern Assur und konntest des nicht satt werden; ja, da du mit ihnen Hurerei getrieben hattest und des nicht satt werden konntest,
16:28 You have played the whore also with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; yea, you have played the harlot with them, and yet could not be satisfied.
16:29 machtest du der Hurerei noch mehr bis ins Krämerland Chaldäa; doch konntest du damit auch nicht satt werden.
16:29 You have moreover multiplied your fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet you were not satisfied therewith.
16:30 Wie soll ich dir doch dein Herz beschneiden, spricht der HERR HERR, weil du solche Werke tust einer großen Erzhure,
16:30 How weak is yours heart, says the LORD GOD, seeing you do all these things, the work of an domineering whorish woman;
16:31 damit daß du deine Götzenkapellen bautest vornan auf allen Straßen und deine Altäre machtest auf allen Gassen? Dazu warst du nicht wie eine andere Hure, die man muß mit Geld kaufen.
16:31 In that you build yours eminent place in the head of every way, and make yours high place in every street; and have not been as an harlot, in that you scorn hire;
16:32 Du Ehebrecherin, die anstatt ihres Mannes andere zuläßt!
16:32 But as a wife that commits adultery, which takes strangers instead of her husband!
16:33 Denn allen andern Huren gibt man Geld; du aber gibst allen deinen Buhlern Geld zu und schenkst ihnen, daß sie zu dir kommen allenthalben und mit dir Hurerei treiben.
16:33 They give gifts to all whores: but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and hire them, that they may come unto you on every side for your whoredom.
16:34 Und findet sich an dir das Widerspiel vor andern Weibern mit deiner Hurerei, weil man dir nicht nachläuft, sondern du Geld zugibst, und man dir nicht Geld zugibt; also treibst du das Widerspiel.
16:34 And the contrary is in you from other women in your whoredoms, whereas none follows you to commit whoredoms: and in that you give a reward, and no reward is given unto you, therefore you are contrary.
16:35 Darum, du Hure, höre des HERRN Wort!
16:35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
16:36 So spricht der HERR HERR: Weil du denn so milde Geld zugibst und deine Blöße durch deine Hurerei gegen deine Buhlen aufdeckst und gegen alle Götzen deiner Greuel und vergießt das Blut deiner Kinder, welche du ihnen opferst:
16:36 Thus says the Lord GOD; Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness discovered through your whoredoms with your lovers, and with all the idols of your abominations, and by the blood of your children, which you did give unto them;
16:37 darum, siehe, will ich sammeln alle deine Buhlen, welchen du wohl gefielst, samt allen, die du für deine Freunde hältst, zu deinen Feinden und will sie beide wider dich sammeln allenthalben und will ihnen deine Blöße aufdecken, daß sie deine Blöße ganz sehen sollen.
16:37 Behold, therefore I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all them that you have loved, with all them that you have hated; I will even gather them round about against you, and will discover your nakedness unto them, that they may see all your nakedness.
16:38 Und will das Recht der Ehebrecherinnen und Blutvergießerinnen über dich gehen und dein Blut vergießen lassen mit Grimm und Eifer.
16:38 And I will judge you, as women that violate marriage bond and shed blood are judged; and I will give you blood in fury and jealousy.
16:39 Und will dich in ihre Hände geben, daß sie deine Kapellen abbrechen und deine Altäre umreißen und dir deine Kleider ausziehen und dein schönes Gerät dir nehmen und dich nackt und bloß sitzen lassen.
16:39 And I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down yours eminent place, and shall break down your high places: they shall strip you also of your clothes, and shall take your fair jewels, and leave you naked and bare.
16:40 Und sie sollen Haufen Leute über dich bringen, die dich steinigen und mit ihren Schwertern zerhauen
16:40 They shall also bring up a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords.
16:41 und deine Häuser mit Feuer verbrennen und dir dein Recht tun vor den Augen vieler Weiber. Also will ich deiner Hurerei ein Ende machen, daß du nicht mehr sollst Geld noch zugeben,
16:41 And they shall burn yours houses with fire, and execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women: and I will cause you to cease from playing the harlot, and you also shall give no hire any more.
16:42 und will meinen Mut an dir kühlen und meinen Eifer an dir sättigen, daß ich ruhe und nicht mehr zürnen müsse.
16:42 So will I make my fury toward you to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
16:43 Darum daß du nicht gedacht hast an die Zeit deiner Jugend, sondern mich mit diesem allem gereizt, darum will ich auch dir all dein Tun auf den Kopf legen, spricht der HERR HERR, wiewohl ich damit nicht getan habe nach dem Laster in deinen Greueln.
16:43 Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense your way upon yours head, says the Lord GOD: and you shall not commit this lewdness above all yours abominations.
16:44 Siehe, alle die, so Sprichwort pflegen zu üben, werden von dir dies Sprichwort sagen: "Die Tochter ist wie die Mutter."
16:44 Behold, every one that uses proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
16:45 Du bist deiner Mutter Tochter, welche Mann und Kinder von sich stößt, und bist eine Schwester deiner Schwestern, die ihre Männer und Kinder von sich stoßen. Eure Mutter ist eine von den Hethitern und euer Vater ein Amoriter.
16:45 You are your mother's daughter, that detests her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, which loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
16:46 Samaria ist dein große Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die dir zur Linken wohnt; und Sodom ist deine kleine Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die dir zur Rechten wohnt;
16:46 And yours elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at your left hand: and your younger sister, that dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
16:47 wiewohl du dennoch nicht gelebt hast nach ihrem Wesen noch getan nach ihren Greueln. Es fehlt nicht viel, daß du es ärger gemacht hast denn sie in allem deinem Wesen.
16:47 Yet have you not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they in all your ways.
16:48 So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, Sodom, deine Schwester, samt ihren Töchtern hat nicht so getan wie du und deine Töchter.
16:48 As I live, says the Lord GOD, Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters.
16:49 Siehe, das war deiner Schwester Sodom Missetat: Hoffart und alles vollauf und guter Friede, den sie und ihre Töchter hatten; aber den Armen und Dürftigen halfen sie nicht,
16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
16:50 sondern waren stolz und taten Greuel vor mir; darum ich sie auch weggetan habe, da ich begann dareinzusehen.
16:50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
16:51 So hat auch Samaria nicht die Hälfte deiner Sünden getan; sondern du hast deiner Greuel so viel mehr als sie getan, daß du deine Schwester fromm gemacht hast gegen alle deine Greuel die du getan hast.
16:51 Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied yours abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters in all yours abominations which you have done.
16:52 So trage auch nun deine Schande, die du deiner Schwester zuerkannt hast. Durch deine Sünden, in welchen du größere Greuel denn sie getan hast, machst du sie frömmer, denn du bist. So sei nun auch du schamrot und trage deine Schande, daß du deine Schwester fromm gemacht hast.
16:52 You also, which have judged your sisters, bear yours own shame for your sins that you have committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than you: yea, be you confounded also, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.
16:53 Ich will aber ihr Gefängnis wenden, nämlich das Gefängnis dieser Sodom und ihrer Töchter und das Gefängnis dieser Samaria und ihrer Töchter und das Gefängnis deiner Gefangenen samt ihnen,
16:53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of your captives in the midst of them:
16:54 daß du tragen mußt deine Schande und dich schämst alles dessen, was du getan hast ihnen zum Troste.
16:54 That you may bear yours own shame, and may be confounded in all that you have done, in that you are a comfort unto them.
16:55 Und deine Schwestern, diese Sodom und ihre Töchter, sollen wieder werden, wie sie zuvor gewesen sind, und Samaria und ihre Töchter sollen wieder werden, wie sie zuvor gewesen sind; dazu auch du und deine Töchter sollt wieder werden, wie ihr zuvor gewesen seid.
16:55 When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then you and your daughters shall return to your former estate.
16:56 Und wirst nicht mehr die Sodom, deine Schwester rühmen wie zur Zeit deines Hochmuts,
16:56 For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride,
16:57 da deine Bosheit noch nicht aufgedeckt war wie zur Zeit, da dich die Töchter Syriens und die Töchter der Philister allenthalben schändeten und verachteten dich um und um, {~}
16:57 Before your wickedness was discovered, as at the time of your reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise you round about.
16:58 da ihr mußtet eure Laster tragen, spricht der HERR. {~}
16:58 You have borne your lewdness and yours abominations, says the LORD.
16:59 Denn also spricht der HERR HERR: Ich will dir tun wie du getan hast, daß du den Eid verachtest und brichst den Bund.
16:59 For thus says the Lord GOD; I will even deal with you as you have done, which have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
16:60 Ich will aber gedenken an meinen Bund, den ich mit dir gemacht habe zur Zeit deiner Jugend, und will mit dir einen ewigen Bund aufrichten.
16:60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish unto you an everlasting covenant.
16:61 Da wirst du an deine Wege gedenken und dich schämen, wenn du deine großen und kleinen Schwestern zu dir nehmen wirst, die ich dir zu Töchtern geben werde, aber nicht aus deinem Bund.
16:61 Then you shall remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, yours elder and your younger: and I will give them unto you for daughters, but not by your covenant.
16:62 Sondern ich will meinen Bund mit dir aufrichten, daß du erfahren sollst, daß ich der HERR sei,
16:62 And I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall know that I am the LORD:
16:63 auf daß du daran gedenkst und dich schämst und vor Schande nicht mehr deinen Mund auftun dürfest, wenn ich dir alles vergeben werde, was du getan hast, spricht der HERR HERR.
16:63 That you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I am pacified toward you for all that you have done, says the Lord GOD.

17:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
17:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17:2 Du Menschenkind, lege doch dem Hause Israel ein Rätsel vor und ein Gleichnis
17:2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
17:3 und sprich: So spricht der HERR HERR: Ein großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und langen Fittichen und voll Federn, die bunt waren, kam auf den Libanon und nahm den Wipfel von der Zeder
17:3 And say, Thus says the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, long pinions, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
17:4 und brach das oberste Reis ab und führte es ins Krämerland und setzte es in die Kaufmannstadt.
17:4 He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of trade; he set it in a city of merchants.
17:5 Er nahm auch vom Samen des Landes und pflanzte es in gutes Land, da viel Wasser war, und setzte es lose hin. {~}
17:5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.
17:6 Und es wuchs und ward ein ausgebreiteter Weinstock und niedrigen Stammes; denn seine Reben bogen sich zu ihm, und seine Wurzeln waren unter ihm; und er war also ein Weinstock, der Reben kriegte und Zweige. {~}
17:6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
17:7 Und da war ein anderer großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und vielen Federn; und siehe, der Weinstock hatte verlangen an seinen Wurzeln zu diesem Adler und streckte seine Reben aus gegen ihn, daß er gewässert würde, vom Platz, da er gepflanzt war.
17:7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.
17:8 Und war doch auf einen guten Boden an viel Wasser gepflanzt, da er wohl hätte können Zweige bringen, Früchte tragen und ein herrlicher Weinstock werden.
17:8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
17:9 So sprich nun: Also sagt der HERR HERR: Sollte der geraten? Ja, man wird seine Wurzeln ausrotten und seine Früchte abreißen, und er wird verdorren, daß alle Blätter seines Gewächses verdorren werden; und es wird nicht geschehen durch großen Arm noch viel Volks, daß man ihn von seinen Wurzeln wegführe.
17:9 Say you, Thus says the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.
17:10 Siehe, er ist zwar gepflanzt; aber sollte er geraten? Ja, sobald der Ostwind an ihn rühren wird, wird er verdorren auf dem Platz, da er gewachsen ist.
17:10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind touches it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
17:11 Und des HERR Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
17:11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17:12 Sprich doch zu diesem ungehorsamen Haus: Wißt ihr nicht, was das ist? Und sprich: Siehe, es kam ein König zu Babel gen Jerusalem und nahm ihren König und ihre Fürsten und führte sie weg zu sich gen Babel.
17:12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know all of you not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon has come to Jerusalem, and has taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;
17:13 Und nahm einen vom königlichen Geschlecht und machte einen Bund mit ihm und nahm einen Eid von ihm; aber die Gewaltigen im Lande nahm er weg,
17:13 And has taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath of him: he has also taken the mighty of the land:
17:14 damit das Königreich demütig bliebe und sich nicht erhöbe, auf daß sein Bund gehalten würde und bestünde.
17:14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
17:15 Aber derselbe fiel von ihm ab und sandte seine Botschaft nach Ägypten, daß man ihm Rosse und viel Volks schicken sollte. Sollte es dem geraten? Sollte er davonkommen, der solches tut? und sollte der, so den Bund bricht davonkommen?
17:15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that does such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?
17:16 So wahr ich lebe spricht der HERR HERR, an dem Ort des Königs, der ihn zum König gesetzt hat, dessen Eid er verachtet und dessen Bund er gebrochen hat, da soll er sterben, nämlich zu Babel.
17:16 As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwells that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17:17 Auch wird ihm Pharao nicht beistehen im Kriege mit großem Heer und vielem Volk, wenn man den Wall aufwerfen wird und die Bollwerke bauen, daß viel Leute umgebracht werden.
17:17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
17:18 Denn weil er den Eid verachtet und den Bund gebrochen hat, darauf er seine Hand gegeben hat, und solches alles tut, wird er nicht davonkommen.
17:18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape.
17:19 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also; So wahr ich lebe, so will ich meinen Eid, den er verachtet hat, und meinen Bund, den er gebrochen hat, auf seinen Kopf bringen.
17:19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
17:20 Denn ich will mein Netz über ihn werfen, und er muß in meinem Garn gefangen werden; und ich will ihn gen Babel bringen und will daselbst mit ihm rechten über dem, daß er sich also an mir vergriffen hat.
17:20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.
17:21 Und alle seine Flüchtigen, die ihm anhingen, sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und ihre übrigen sollen in alle Winde zerstreut werden; und ihr sollt's erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, es geredet habe.
17:21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and all of you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.
17:22 So spricht der HERR HERR: Ich will auch von dem Wipfel des hohen Zedernbaumes nehmen und oben auf seinen Zweigen ein zartes Reis brechen und will's auf einen hohen, erhabenen Berg pflanzen;
17:22 Thus says the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
17:23 auf den hohen Berg Israels will ich's pflanzen, daß es Zweige gewinne und Früchte bringe und ein herrlicher Zedernbaum werde, also daß allerlei Vögel unter ihm wohnen und allerlei Fliegendes unter dem Schatten seiner Zweige bleiben möge.
17:23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
17:24 Und sollen alle Feldbäume erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, den hohen Baum erniedrigt habe und den niedrigen Baum erhöht habe und den grünen Baum ausgedörrt und den dürren Baum grünend gemacht habe. Ich, der HERR, rede es und tue es auch.
17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

18:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
18:1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
18:2 Was treibt ihr unter euch im Lande Israel dies Sprichwort und sprecht: "Die Väter haben Herlinge gegessen, aber den Kindern sind die Zähne davon stumpf geworden"?
18:2 What mean all of you, that all of you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
18:3 So wahr als ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, solches Sprichwort soll nicht mehr unter euch gehen in Israel.
18:3 As I live, says the Lord GOD, all of you shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
18:4 Denn siehe, alle Seelen sind mein; des Vaters Seele ist sowohl mein als des Sohnes Seele. Welche Seele sündigt, die soll sterben.
18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.
18:5 Wenn nun einer fromm ist, der recht und wohl tut,
18:5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
18:6 der auf den Bergen nicht isset, der seine Augen nicht aufhebt zu den Götzen des Hauses Israel und seines Nächsten Weib nicht befleckt und liegt nicht bei der Frau in ihrer Krankheit,
18:6 And has not eaten upon the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbour's wife, neither has come near to a menstruous woman,
18:7 der niemand beschädigt, der dem Schuldner sein Pfand wiedergibt, der niemand etwas mit Gewalt nimmt, der dem Hungrigen sein Brot mitteilt und den Nackten kleidet,
18:7 And has not oppressed any, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has spoiled none by violence, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;
18:8 der nicht wuchert, der nicht Zins nimmt, der seine Hand vom Unrechten kehrt, der zwischen den Leuten recht urteilt,
18:8 He that has not given forth upon interest, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true judgment between man and man,
18:9 der nach meinen Rechten wandelt und meine Gebote hält, daß er ernstlich darnach tue: das ist ein frommer Mann, der soll das leben haben, spricht der HERR HERR.
18:9 Has walked in my statutes, and has kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, says the Lord GOD.
18:10 Wenn er aber einen Sohn zeugt, und derselbe wird ein Mörder, der Blut vergießt oder dieser Stücke eins tut,
18:10 If he brought forth a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that does the like to any one of these things,
18:11 und der andern Stücke keins tut, sondern auf den Bergen isset und seines Nächsten Weib befleckt,
18:11 And that does not any of those duties, but even has eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,
18:12 die Armen und Elenden beschädigt, mit Gewalt etwas nimmt, das Pfand nicht wiedergibt, seine Augen zu den Götzen aufhebt und einen Greuel begeht,
18:12 Has oppressed the poor and needy, has spoiled by violence, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,
18:13 auf Wucher gibt, Zins nimmt: sollte der Leben? Er soll nicht leben, sondern weil er solche Greuel alle getan hat, soll er des Todes sterben; sein Blut soll auf ihm sein.
18:13 Has given forth upon interest, and has taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
18:14 Wo er aber einen Sohn zeugt, der solche Sünden sieht, so sein Vater tut, und sich fürchtet und nicht also tut,
18:14 Now, lo, if he brought forth a son, that sees all his father's sins which he has done, and considers, and does not such like,
18:15 ißt nicht auf den Bergen, hebt seine Augen nicht auf zu den Götzen des Hauses Israel, befleckt nicht seines Nächsten Weib,
18:15 That has not eaten upon the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, has not defiled his neighbour's wife,
18:16 beschädigt niemand, behält das Pfand nicht, nimmt nicht mit Gewalt etwas, teilt sein Brot mit dem Hungrigen und kleidet den Nackten,
18:16 Neither has oppressed any, has not withheld the pledge, neither has spoiled by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment,
18:17 der seine Hand vom Unrechten kehrt, keinen Wucher noch Zins nimmt, sondern meine Gebote hält und nach meinen Rechten lebt: der soll nicht sterben um seines Vaters Missetat willen, sondern leben.
18:17 That has taken off his hand from the poor, that has not received interest nor increase, has executed my judgments, has walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
18:18 Aber sein Vater, der Gewalt und Unrecht geübt hat und unter seinem Volk getan hat, was nicht taugt, siehe, der soll sterben um seiner Missetat willen. {~} {~} {~}
18:18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
18:19 So sprecht ihr: Warum soll denn ein Sohn nicht tragen seines Vaters Missetat? Darum daß er recht und wohl getan und alle meine Rechte gehalten und getan hat, soll er leben.
18:19 Yet say all of you, Why? does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all my statutes, and has done them, he shall surely live.
18:20 Denn welche Seele sündigt, die soll sterben. Der Sohn soll nicht tragen die Missetat des Vaters, und der Vater soll nicht tragen die Missetat des Sohnes; sondern des Gerechten Gerechtigkeit soll über ihm sein.
18:20 The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
18:21 Wo sich aber der Gottlose bekehrt von allen seine Sünden, die er getan hat, und hält alle meine Rechte und tut recht und wohl, so soll er leben und nicht sterben.
18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
18:22 Es soll aller seiner Übertretung, so er begangen hat, nicht gedacht werden; sondern er soll leben um der Gerechtigkeit willen, die er tut.
18:22 All his transgressions that he has committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.
18:23 Meinest du, daß ich Gefallen habe am Tode des Gottlosen, spricht der HERR, und nicht vielmehr, daß er sich bekehre von seinem Wesen und lebe? {~}
18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? says the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
18:24 Und wo sich der Gerechte kehrt von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Böses und lebt nach all den Greueln, die ein Gottloser tut, sollte der leben? Ja, aller seiner Gerechtigkeit, die er getan hat, soll nicht gedacht werden; sondern in seiner Übertretung und Sünde, die er getan hat, soll er sterben. {~}
18:24 But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.
18:25 Doch sprecht ihr: Der HERR handelt nicht recht. So hört nun, ihr vom Hause Israel: Ist's nicht also, daß ich recht habe und ihr unrecht habt?
18:25 Yet all of you say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
18:26 Denn wenn der Gerechte sich kehrt von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Böses, so muß er sterben; er muß aber um seiner Bosheit willen, die er getan hat, sterben.
18:26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in them; for his iniquity that he has done shall he die.
18:27 Wiederum, wenn der Gottlose kehrt von seiner Ungerechtigkeit, die er getan hat, und tut nun recht und wohl, der wird seine Seele lebendig erhalten.
18:27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
18:28 Denn weil er sieht und bekehrt sich von aller Bosheit, die er getan hat, so soll er leben und nicht sterben.
18:28 Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
18:29 Doch sprechen die vom Hause Israel: Der HERR handelt nicht recht. Sollte ich Unrecht haben? Ihr vom Hause Israel habt unrecht.
18:29 Yet says the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
18:30 Darum will ich euch richten, ihr vom Hause Israel einen jeglichen nach seinem Wesen, spricht der HERR HERR. Darum so bekehrt euch von aller Übertretung, auf daß ihr nicht fallen müsset um der Missetat willen. {~}
18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
18:31 Werfet von euch alle eure Übertretung, damit ihr übertreten habt, und machet euch ein neues Herz und einen neuen Geist. Denn warum willst du sterben, du Haus Israel?
18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby all of you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will all of you die, O house of Israel?
18:32 Denn ich habe keinen Gefallen am Tode des Sterbenden, spricht der HERR HERR. Darum bekehrt euch, so werdet ihr leben.
18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, says the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live all of you.

19:1 Du aber mache eine Wehklage über die Fürsten Israels
19:1 Moreover take you up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
19:2 und sprich: Warum liegt deine Mutter, die Löwin, unter den Löwen und erzieht ihre Jungen unter den Löwen?
19:2 And say, What is your mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
19:3 Deren eines zog sie auf, und ward ein junger Löwe daraus, der gewöhnte sich, die Leute zu zerreißen und zu fressen.
19:3 And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
19:4 Da das die Heiden von ihm hörten, fingen sie ihn in ihren Gruben und führten ihn an Ketten nach Ägyptenland.
19:4 The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
19:5 Da nun die Mutter sah, daß ihre Hoffnung verloren war, da sie lange gehofft hatte, nahm sie ein anderes aus ihren Jungen heraus und machte einen jungen Löwen daraus.
19:5 Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
19:6 Da er unter den Löwen wandelte ward er ein junger Löwe; der gewöhnte sich auch, die Leute zu zerreißen und zu fressen.
19:6 And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
19:7 Er verderbte ihre Paläste und verwüstete ihre Städte, daß das Land und was darin ist, vor der Stimme seines Brüllens sich entsetzte.
19:7 And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fullness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
19:8 Da legten sich die Heiden aus allen Ländern ringsumher und warfen ein Netz über ihn und fingen ihn in ihren Gruben
19:8 Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
19:9 und stießen ihn gebunden in einen Käfig und führten ihn zum König zu Babel; und man ließ ihn verwahren, daß seine Stimme nicht mehr gehört würde auf den Bergen Israels.
19:9 And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
19:10 Deine Mutter war wie ein Weinstock, gleich wie du am Wasser gepflanzt; und seine Frucht und Reben wuchsen von dem großen Wasser, {~} {~}
19:10 Your mother is like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
19:11 daß seine Reben so stark wurden, daß sie zu Herrenzeptern gut waren, und er ward hoch unter den Reben. Und da man sah, daß er so hoch war und viel Reben hatte,
19:11 And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
19:12 ward er mit Grimm ausgerissen und zu Boden geworfen; der Ostwind verdorrte seine Frucht, und seine starken Reben wurden zerbrochen, daß sie verdorrten und verbrannt wurden.
19:12 But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
19:13 Nun aber ist er gepflanzt in der Wüste, in einem dürren, durstigen Lande,
19:13 And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
19:14 und ist ein Feuer ausgegangen von seinen starken Reben, das verzehrte seine Frucht, daß in ihm keine starke Rebe mehr ist zu einem Herrenzepter, das ist ein kläglich und jämmerlich Ding.
19:14 And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which has devoured her fruit, so that she has no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

20:1 Und es begab sich im siebenten Jahr, am zehnten Tage des fünften Monats, kamen etliche aus den Ältesten Israels, den HERRN zu fragen, und setzten sich vor mir nieder.
20:1 And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
20:2 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu mir und sprach:
20:2 Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
20:3 Du Menschenkind, sage den Ältesten Israels und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Seid ihr gekommen, mich zu fragen? So wahr ich lebe, ich will von euch ungefragt sein, spricht der HERR HERR.
20:3 Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Are all of you come to enquire of me? As I live, says the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
20:4 Aber willst du sie strafen, du Menschenkind, so magst du sie also strafen: zeige ihnen an die Greuel ihrer Väter
20:4 Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:
20:5 und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Zu der Zeit, da ich Israel erwählte, erhob ich meine Hand zu dem Samen des Hauses Jakob und gab mich ihnen zu erkennen in Ägyptenland. Ja, ich erhob meine Hand zu ihnen und sprach: Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.
20:5 And say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;
20:6 Ich erhob aber zur selben Zeit meine Hand, daß ich sie führte aus Ägyptenland in ein Land, das ich ihnen ersehen hatte, das mit Milch und Honig fließt, ein edles Land vor allen Ländern,
20:6 In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:
20:7 und sprach zu ihnen: Ein jeglicher werfe weg die Greuel vor seinen Augen, und verunreinigt euch nicht an den Götzen Ägyptens! denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.
20:7 Then said I unto them, Cast all of you away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
20:8 Sie aber waren mir ungehorsam und wollten nicht gehorchen und warf ihrer keiner weg die Greuel vor seinen Augen und verließen die Götzen Ägyptens nicht. Da dachte ich meinem Grimm über sie auszuschütten und all mein Zorn über sie gehen zu lassen noch in Ägyptenland.
20:8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
20:9 Aber ich ließ es um meines Namens willen, daß er nicht entheiligt würde vor den Heiden, unter denen sie waren und vor denen ich mich ihnen hatte zu erkennen gegeben, daß ich sie aus Ägyptenland führen wollte.
20:9 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
20:10 Und da ich sie aus Ägyptenland geführt hatte und in die Wüste gebracht,
20:10 Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
20:11 gab ich ihnen meine Gebote und lehrte sie meine Rechte, durch welche lebt der Mensch, der sie hält.
20:11 And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.
20:12 Ich gab ihnen auch meine Sabbate zum Zeichen zwischen mir und ihnen, damit sie lernten, daß ich der HERR sei, der sie heiligt.
20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
20:13 Aber das Haus Israel war mir ungehorsam auch in der Wüste und lebten nicht nach meinen Geboten und verachteten meine Rechte, durch welche der Mensch lebt, der sie hält, und entheiligten meine Sabbate sehr. Da gedachte ich meinem Grimm über sie auszuschütten in der Wüste und sie ganz umzubringen.
20:13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
20:14 Aber ich ließ es um meines Namens willen, auf daß er nicht entheiligt würde vor den Heiden, vor welchen ich sie hatte ausgeführt.
20:14 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.
20:15 Und ich hob auch meine Hand auf wider sie in der Wüste, daß ich sie nicht wollte bringen in das Land, so ich ihnen gegeben hatte, das mit Milch und Honig fließt, ein edles Land vor allen Ländern,
20:15 Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;
20:16 darum daß sie meine Rechte verachtet und nach meinen Geboten nicht gelebt und meine Sabbate entheiligt hatten; denn sie wandelten nach den Götzen ihres Herzens.
20:16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
20:17 Aber mein Auge verschonte sie, daß ich sie nicht verderbte noch ganz umbrächte in der Wüste.
20:17 Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.
20:18 Und ich sprach zu ihren Kindern in der Wüste: Ihr sollt nach eurer Väter Geboten nicht leben und ihre Rechte nicht halten und an ihren Götzen euch nicht verunreinigen.
20:18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk all of you not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
20:19 Denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott; nach meinen Geboten sollt ihr leben, und meine Rechte sollt ihr halten und darnach tun;
20:19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;
20:20 und meine Sabbate sollt ihr heiligen, daß sie seien ein Zeichen zwischen mir und euch, damit ihr wisset, das ich der HERR, euer Gott bin.
20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that all of you may know that I am the LORD your God.
20:21 Aber die Kinder waren mir auch ungehorsam, lebten nach meinen Geboten nicht, hielten auch meine Rechte nicht, daß sie darnach täten, durch welche der Mensch lebt, der sie hält, und entheiligten meine Sabbate. Da gedachte ich, meinen Grimm über sie auszuschütten und allen meinen Zorn über sie gehen lassen in der Wüste.
20:21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
20:22 Ich wandte aber meine Hand und ließ es um meines Namens willen, auf daß er nicht entheiligt würde vor den Heiden, vor welchen ich sie hatte ausgeführt.
20:22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.
20:23 Ich hob auch meine Hand auf wider sie in der Wüste, daß ich sie zerstreute unter die Heiden und zerstäubte in die Länder,
20:23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;
20:24 darum daß sie meine Geboten nicht gehalten und meine Rechte verachtet und meine Sabbate entheiligt hatten und nach den Götzen ihrer Väter sahen.
20:24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
20:25 Darum übergab ich sie in die Lehre, die nicht gut ist, und in Rechte, darin sie kein Leben konnten haben,
20:25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
20:26 und ließ sie unrein werden durch ihre Opfer, da sie alle Erstgeburt durchs Feuer gehen ließen, damit ich sie verstörte und sie lernen mußten, daß ich der HERR sei.
20:26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
20:27 Darum rede, du Menschenkind, mit dem Hause Israel und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Eure Väter haben mich noch weiter gelästert und mir getrotzt.
20:27 Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
20:28 Denn da ich sie in das Land gebracht hatte, über welches ich meine Hand aufgehoben hatte, daß ich's ihnen gäbe: wo sie einen hohen Hügel oder dichten Baum ersahen, daselbst opferten sie ihre Opfer und brachten dahin ihre verdrießlichen Gaben und räucherten daselbst ihren süßen Geruch und gossen daselbst ihre Trankopfer.
20:28 For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.
20:29 Ich aber sprach zu ihnen: Was soll doch die Höhe, dahin ihr geht? Und also heißt sie bis auf diesen Tag "die Höhe".
20:29 Then I said unto them, What is the high place unto which all of you go? And the name whereof is called Bamah unto this day.
20:30 Darum sprich zum Hause Israel: So spricht der HERR HERR: Ihr verunreinigt euch in dem Wesen eurer Väter und treibt Abgötterei mit ihren Greueln
20:30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Are all of you polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit all of you whoredom after their abominations?
20:31 und verunreinigt euch an euren Götzen, welchen ihr eure Gaben opfert und eure Söhne und Töchter durchs Feuer gehen laßt, bis auf den heutigen Tag; und ich sollte mich von euch, Haus Israel, fragen lassen? So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, ich will von euch ungefragt sein.
20:31 For when all of you offer your gifts, when all of you make your sons to pass through the fire, all of you pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
20:32 Dazu, was ihr gedenkt: "Wir wollen tun wie die Heiden und wie andere Leute in den Ländern: Holz und Stein anbeten", das soll euch fehlschlagen.
20:32 And that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, that all of you say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
20:33 So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, ich will über euch herrschen mit starker Hand und ausgestrecktem Arm und mit ausgeschüttetem Grimm
20:33 As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
20:34 und will euch aus den Völkern führen und aus den Ländern, dahin ihr verstreut seid, sammeln mit starker Hand und mit ausgestrecktem Arm und mit ausgeschütteten Grimm,
20:34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein all of you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
20:35 und will euch bringen in die Wüste der Völker und daselbst mit euch rechten von Angesicht zu Angesicht.
20:35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.
20:36 Wie ich mit euren Vätern in der Wüste bei Ägypten gerechtet habe, ebenso will ich auch mit euch rechten, spricht der HERR HERR.
20:36 Like I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, says the Lord GOD.
20:37 Ich will euch wohl unter die Rute bringen und euch in die Bande des Bundes zwingen
20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
20:38 und will die Abtrünnigen und so wider mich übertreten, unter euch ausfegen; ja, aus dem Lande, da ihr jetzt wohnt, will ich sie führen und ins Land Israel nicht kommen lassen, daß ihr lernen sollt, ich sei der HERR.
20:38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.
20:39 Darum, ihr vom Hause Israel, so spricht der HERR HERR: Weil ihr denn mir ja nicht wollt gehorchen, so fahrt hin und diene ein jeglicher seinen Götzen; aber meinen heiligen Namen laßt hinfort ungeschändet mit euren Opfern und Götzen.
20:39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord GOD; Go all of you, serve all of you every one his idols, and hereafter also, if all of you will not hearken unto me: but pollute all of you my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.
20:40 Denn so spricht der HERR HERR: Auf meinem heiligen Berge, auf dem hohen Berge Israel, daselbst wird mir das ganze Haus Israel, alle die im Lande sind, dienen; daselbst werden sie mir angenehm sein, und daselbst will ich eure Hebopfer und Erstlinge eurer Opfer fordern mit allem, was ihr mir heiligt.
20:40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.
20:41 Ihr werdet mir angenehm sein mit dem süßen Geruch, wenn ich euch aus den Völkern bringen und aus den Ländern sammeln werde, dahin ihr verstreut seid, und werde in euch geheiligt werden vor den Heiden.
20:41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein all of you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.
20:42 Und ihr werdet erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich euch ins Land Israel gebracht habe, in das Land, darüber ich meine Hand aufhob, daß ich's euren Vätern gäbe.
20:42 And all of you shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.
20:43 Daselbst werdet ihr gedenken an euer Wesen und an all euer Tun, darin ihr verunreinigt seid, und werdet Mißfallen haben über eure eigene Bosheit, die ihr getan habt.
20:43 And there shall all of you remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein all of you have been defiled; and all of you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that all of you have committed.
20:44 Und werdet erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich mit euch tue um meines Namens willen und nicht nach eurem bösen Wesen und schädlichen Tun, du Haus Israel, spricht der HERR HERR.
20:44 And all of you shall know that I am the LORD when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O all of you house of Israel, says the Lord GOD.
20:45 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
20:45 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
20:46 Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht gegen den Südwind zu und predige gegen den Mittag und weissage wider den Wald im Felde gegen Mittag.
20:46 Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;
20:47 Und sprich zum Walde gegen Mittag: Höre des HERRN Wort! So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will in dir ein Feuer anzünden, das soll beide, grüne und dürre Bäume, verzehren, daß man seine Flamme nicht wird löschen können; sondern es soll verbrannt werden alles, was vom Mittag gegen Mitternacht steht. {~}
20:47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
20:48 Und alles Fleisch soll sehen, daß ich, der HERR, es angezündet habe und niemand löschen kann.
20:48 And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.
20:49 Und ich sprach: Ach HERR HERR, sie sagen von mir: Dieser redet eitel Rätselworte.
20:49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Does he not speak parables?
Ezekiel / HESEKIEL (EZECHIEL)
21:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
21:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
21:2 Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht wider Jerusalem und predige wider die Heiligtümer und weissage wider das Land Israel
21:2 Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop your word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
21:3 und sprich zum Lande Israel: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich; ich will mein Schwert aus der Scheide ziehen und will in dir ausrotten beide, Gerechte und Ungerechte.
21:3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.
21:4 Weil ich denn in dir Gerechte und Ungerechte ausrotte, so wird mein Schwert aus der Scheide fahren über alles Fleisch, von Mittag her bis gen Mitternacht.
21:4 Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
21:5 Und soll alles Fleisch erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, mein Schwert habe aus der Scheide gezogen; und es soll nicht wieder eingesteckt werden.
21:5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
21:6 Und du, Menschenkind, sollst seufzen, bis dir die Lenden weh tun, ja, bitterlich sollst du seufzen, daß sie es sehen.
21:6 Sigh therefore, you son of man, with the breaking of your loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
21:7 Und wenn sie zu dir sagen werden: Warum seufzest du? sollst du sagen: Um des Geschreis willen, das da kommt, vor welchem alle Herzen verzagen, und alle Hände sinken, aller Mut fallen und alle Kniee so ungewiß stehen werden wie Wasser. Siehe, es kommt und wird geschehen, spricht der HERR HERR.
21:7 And it shall be, when they say unto you, Wherefore sigh you? that you shall answer, For the tidings; because it comes: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it comes, and shall be brought to pass, says the Lord GOD.
21:8 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
21:8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
21:9 Du Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Sprich: Das Schwert, ja, das Schwert ist geschärft und gefegt.
21:9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
21:10 Es ist geschärft, daß es schlachten soll; es ist gefegt, daß es blinken soll. O wie froh wollten wir sein, wenn er gleich alle Bäume zu Ruten machte über die bösen Kinder!
21:10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make delight? it despises the rod of my son, as every tree.
21:11 Aber er hat ein Schwert zu fegen gegeben, daß man es fassen soll; es ist geschärft und gefegt, daß man's dem Totschläger in die Hand gebe.
21:11 And he has given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
21:12 Schreie und heule, du Menschenkind; denn es geht über mein Volk und über alle Regenten in Israel, die dem Schwert samt meinem Volk verfallen sind. Darum schlage auf deine Lenden.
21:12 Cry and wail, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: strike therefore upon your thigh.
21:13 Denn er hat sie oft gezüchtigt; was hat's geholfen? Es will der bösen Kinder Rute nicht helfen, spricht der HERR HERR.
21:13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, says the Lord GOD.
21:14 Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und schlage deine Hände zusammen. Denn das Schwert wird zweifach, ja dreifach kommen, ein Würgeschwert, ein Schwert großer Schlacht, das sie auch treffen wird in den Kammern, dahin sie fliehen.
21:14 You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike yours hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which enters into their privy chambers.
21:15 Ich will das Schwert lassen klingen, daß die Herzen verzagen und viele fallen sollen an allen ihren Toren. Ach, wie glänzt es und haut daher zur Schlacht!
21:15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
21:16 Haue drein, zur Rechten und Linken, was vor dir ist!
21:16 Go you one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, anywhere your face is set.
21:17 Da will ich dann mit meinen Händen darob frohlocken und meinen Zorn gehen lassen. Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt.
21:17 I will also strike mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.
21:18 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
21:18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
21:19 Du Menschenkind, mache zwei Wege, durch welche kommen soll das Schwert des Königs zu Babel; sie sollen aber alle beide aus einem Lande gehen.
21:19 Also, you son of man, appoint you two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both two shall come forth out of one land: and choose you a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.
21:20 Und stelle ein Zeichen vorn an den Weg zur Stadt, dahin es weisen soll; und mache den Weg, daß das Schwert komme gen Rabba der Kinder Ammon und nach Juda, zu der festen Stadt Jerusalem.
21:20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
21:21 Denn der König zu Babel wird sich an die Wegscheide stellen, vorn an den zwei Wegen, daß er sich wahrsagen lasse, mit den Pfeilen das Los werfe, seinen Abgott frage und schaue die Leber an.
21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
21:22 Und die Wahrsagung wird auf die rechte Seite gen Jerusalem deuten, daß er solle Sturmböcke hinanführen lassen und Löcher machen und mit großem Geschrei sie überfalle und morde, und daß er Böcke führen soll wider die Tore und da Wall aufschütte und Bollwerk baue.
21:22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
21:23 Aber es wird sie solches Wahrsagen falsch dünken, er schwöre, wie teuer er will. Er aber wird denken an die Missetat, daß er sie gewinne.
21:23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
21:24 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also: Darum daß euer gedacht wird um eure Missetat und euer Ungehorsam offenbart ist, daß man eure Sünden sieht in allem eurem Tun, ja, darum daß euer gedacht wird, werdet ihr mit Gewalt gefangen werden.
21:24 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because all of you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that all of you are come to remembrance, all of you shall be taken with the hand.
21:25 Und du, Fürst in Israel, der du verdammt und verurteilt bist, dessen Tag daherkommen wird, wenn die Missetat zum Ende gekommen ist,
21:25 And you, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, when iniquity shall have an end,
21:26 so spricht der HERR HERR: Tue weg den Hut und hebe ab die Krone! Denn es wird weder Hut noch die Krone bleiben; sondern der sich erhöht hat, der soll erniedrigt werden, und der sich erniedrigt, soll erhöht werden.
21:26 Thus says the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and bring low him that is high.
21:27 Ich will die Krone zunichte, zunichte, zunichte machen, bis der komme, der sie haben soll; dem will ich sie geben. {~} {~} {~} {~}
21:27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it him.
21:28 Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der HERR HERR von den Kindern Ammon und von ihrem Schmähen; und sprich: Das Schwert, das Schwert ist gezückt, daß es schlachten soll; es ist gefegt, daß es würgen soll und soll blinken,
21:28 And you, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say you, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
21:29 darum daß du falsche Gesichte dir sagen läßt und Lügen weissagen, damit du auch hingegeben wirst unter die erschlagenen Gottlosen, welchen ihr Tag kam, da die Missetat zum Ende gekommen war.
21:29 While they see vanity unto you, while they divine a lie unto you, to bring you upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day has come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
21:30 Und ob's schon wieder in die Scheide gesteckt würde, so will ich dich doch richten an dem Ort, da du geschaffen, und in dem Lande, da du geboren bist,
21:30 Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge you in the place where you were created, in the land of your nativity.
21:31 und will meinen Zorn über dich schütten; ich will das Feuer meines Grimmes über dich aufblasen und will dich Leuten, die brennen und verderben können, überantworten.
21:31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon you, I will blow against you in the fire of my wrath, and deliver you into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
21:32 Du mußt dem Feuer zur Speise werden, und dein Blut muß im Lande vergossen werden, und man wird dein nicht mehr gedenken; denn ich, der HERR, habe es geredet.
21:32 You shall be for fuel to the fire; your blood shall be in the midst of the land; you shall be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
Ezekiel / HESEKIEL (EZECHIEL)
22:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
22:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:2 Du Menschenkind, willst du nicht strafen die mörderische Stadt und ihr anzeigen alle ihre Greuel?
22:2 Now, you son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? yea, you shall show her all her abominations.
22:3 Sprich: So spricht der HERR HERR: O Stadt, die du der Deinen Blut vergießest, auf daß deine Zeit komme, und die du Götzen bei dir machst, dadurch du dich verunreinigst!
22:3 Then say you, Thus says the Lord GOD, The city sheds blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and makes idols against herself to defile herself.
22:4 Du verschuldest dich an dem Blut, das du vergießt, und verunreinigst dich an den Götzen, die du machst; damit bringst du deine Tage herzu und machst, daß deine Jahre kommen müssen. Darum will ich dich zum Spott unter den Heiden und zum Hohn in allen Ländern machen.
22:4 You are become guilty in your blood that you have shed; and have defiled yourself in yours idols which you have made; and you have caused your days to draw near, and are come even unto your years: therefore have I made you a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
22:5 In der Nähe und in der Ferne sollen sie dein spotten, daß du ein schändlich Gerücht haben und großen Jammer leiden müssest.
22:5 Those that be near, and those that be far from you, shall mock you, which are ill repute and much vexed.
22:6 Siehe, die Fürsten in Israel, ein jeglicher ist mächtig bei dir, Blut zu vergießen.
22:6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in you to their power to shed blood.
22:7 Vater und Mutter verachten sie, den Fremdlingen tun sie Gewalt und Unrecht, die Witwen und die Waisen schinden sie.
22:7 In you have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of you have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in you have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
22:8 Du verachtest meine Heiligtümer und entheiligst meine Sabbate.
22:8 You have despised mine holy things, and have profaned my sabbaths.
22:9 Verräter sind in dir, auf daß sie Blut vergießen. Sie essen auf den Bergen und handeln mutwillig in dir;
22:9 In you are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in you they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of you they commit lewdness.
22:10 sie decken auf die Blöße der Väter und nötigen die Weiber in ihrer Krankheit
22:10 In you have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in you have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
22:11 und treiben untereinander, Freund mit Freundes Weibe, Greuel; sie schänden ihre eigene Schwiegertochter mit allem Mutwillen; sie notzüchtigen ihre eigenen Schwestern, ihres Vaters Töchter;
22:11 And one has committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
22:12 sie nehmen Geschenke, auf daß sie Blut vergießen; sie wuchern und nehmen Zins voneinander und treiben ihren Geiz wider ihren Nächsten und tun einander Gewalt und vergessen mein also, spricht der HERR HERR.
22:12 In you have they taken gifts to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbours by extortion, and have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD.
22:13 Siehe, ich schlage meine Hände zusammen über den Geiz, den du treibst, und über das Blut, so in dir vergossen ist.
22:13 Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in the midst of you.
22:14 Meinst du aber, dein Herz möge es erleiden, oder werden es deine Hände ertragen zu der Zeit, wann ich mit dir handeln werde? Ich, der HERR, habe es geredet und will's auch tun
22:14 Can yours heart endure, or can yours hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
22:15 und will dich zerstreuen unter die Heiden und dich verstoßen in die Länder und will deinem Unflat ein Ende machen,
22:15 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and disperse you in the countries, and will consume your filthiness out of you.
22:16 daß du bei den Heiden mußt verflucht geachtet werden und erfahren, daß ich der HERR sei.
22:16 And you shall take yours inheritance in yourself in the sight of the heathen, and you shall know that I am the LORD.
22:17 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
22:17 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:18 Du Menschenkind, das Haus Israel ist mir zu Schlacken geworden und sind alle Erz, Zinn, Eisen und Blei im Ofen; ja, zu Silberschlacken sind sie geworden.
22:18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
22:19 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also: Weil ihr denn alle Schlacken geworden seid, siehe, so will ich euch alle gen Jerusalem zusammentun.
22:19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because all of you are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
22:20 Wie man Silber, Erz, Eisen, Blei und Zinn zusammentut im Ofen, daß man ein Feuer darunter aufblase und zerschmelze es, also will ich euch auch in meinem Zorn und Grimm zusammentun, einlegen und schmelzen.
22:20 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
22:21 Ja ich will euch sammeln und das Feuer meines Zorns unter euch aufblasen, daß ihr darin zerschmelzen müsset.
22:21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and all of you shall be melted in the midst thereof.
22:22 Wie das Silber zerschmilzt im Ofen, so sollt ihr auch darin zerschmelzen und erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, meinen Grimm über euch ausgeschüttet habe.
22:22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall all of you be melted in the midst thereof; and all of you shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
22:23 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
22:23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:24 Du Menschenkind, sprich zu ihnen: Du bist ein Land, das nicht zu reinigen ist, wie eines, das nicht beregnet wird zur Zeit des Zorns.
22:24 Son of man, say unto her, You are the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
22:25 Die Propheten, so darin sind, haben sich gerottet, die Seelen zu fressen wie ein brüllender Löwe, wenn er raubt; sie reißen Gut und Geld an sich und machen der Witwen viel darin.
22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
22:26 Ihre Priester verkehren mein Gesetz freventlich und entheiligen mein Heiligtum; sie halten unter dem Heiligen und Unheiligen keinen Unterschied und lehren nicht, was rein oder unrein sei, und warten meiner Sabbate nicht, und ich werde unter ihnen entheiligt.
22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
22:27 Ihre Fürsten sind darin wie die reißenden Wölfe, Blut zu vergießen und Seelen umzubringen um ihres Geizes willen.
22:27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
22:28 Und ihre Propheten tünchen ihnen mit losem Kalk, predigen loses Gerede und weissagen ihnen Lügen und sagen: "So spricht der HERR HERR", so es doch der HERR nicht geredet hat.
22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with plaster, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus says the Lord GOD, when the LORD has not spoken.
22:29 Das Volk im Lande übt Gewalt; sie rauben getrost und schinden die Armen und Elenden und tun den Fremdlingen Gewalt und Unrecht.
22:29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
22:30 Ich suchte unter ihnen, ob jemand sich zur Mauer machte und wider den Riß stünde vor mir für das Land, daß ich's nicht verderbte; aber ich fand keinen.
22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
22:31 Darum schüttete ich meinen Zorn über sie, und mit dem Feuer meines Grimmes machte ich ihnen ein Ende und gab ihnen also ihren Verdienst auf ihren Kopf, spricht der HERR HERR.
22:31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, says the Lord GOD.

23:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
23:1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
23:2 Du Menschenkind, es waren zwei Weiber, einer Mutter Töchter.
23:2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
23:3 Die trieben Hurerei in Ägypten in ihrer Jugend; daselbst ließen sie ihre Brüste begreifen und den Busen ihrer Jungfrauschaft betasten.
23:3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
23:4 Die große heißt Ohola und ihre Schwester Oholiba. Und ich nahm sie zur Ehe, und sie gebaren mir Söhne und Töchter. Und Ohola heißt Samaria und Oholiba Jerusalem.
23:4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
23:5 Ohola trieb Hurerei, da ich sie genommen hatte, und brannte gegen ihre Buhlen, nämlich gegen die Assyrer, die zu ihr kamen,
23:5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
23:6 gegen die Fürsten und Herren, die mit Purpur gekleidet waren, und alle junge, liebliche Gesellen, Reisige, so auf Rossen ritten.
23:6 Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.
23:7 Und sie buhlte mit allen schönen Gesellen in Assyrien und verunreinigte sich mit allen ihren Götzen, wo sie auf einen entbrannte.
23:7 Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.
23:8 Dazu ließ sie auch nicht die Hurerei mit Ägypten, die bei ihr gelegen hatten von ihrer Jugend auf und die Brüste ihrer Jungfrauschaft betastet und große Hurerei mit ihr getrieben hatten.
23:8 Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.
23:9 Da übergab ich sie in die Hand ihrer Buhlen, den Kindern Assur, gegen welche sie brannte vor Lust.
23:9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
23:10 Die deckten ihre Blöße auf und nahmen ihre Söhne und Töchter weg; sie aber töteten sie mit dem Schwert. Und es kam aus unter den Weibern, wie sie gestraft wäre.
23:10 These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
23:11 Da es aber ihre Schwester Oholiba sah, entbrannte sie noch viel ärger denn jene und trieb die Hurerei mehr denn ihre Schwester;
23:11 And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
23:12 und entbrannte gegen die Kinder Assur, nämlich die Fürsten und Herren, die zu ihr kamen wohl gekleidet, Reisige, so auf Rossen ritten, und alle junge, liebliche Gesellen.
23:12 She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
23:13 Da sah ich, daß sie alle beide gleichermaßen verunreinigt waren.
23:13 Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
23:14 Aber diese treib ihre Hurerei mehr. Denn da sie sah gemalte Männer an der Wand in roter Farbe, die Bilder der Chaldäer,
23:14 And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men portrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion,
23:15 um ihre Lenden gegürtet und bunte Mützen auf ihren Köpfen, und alle gleich anzusehen wie gewaltige Leute, wie denn die Kinder Babels, die Chaldäer, tragen in ihrem Vaterlande:
23:15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
23:16 entbrannte sie gegen sie, sobald sie ihrer gewahr ward, und schickte Botschaft zu ihnen nach Chaldäa.
23:16 And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.
23:17 Als nun die Kinder Babels zu ihr kamen, bei ihr zu schlafen nach der Liebe, verunreinigten sie dieselbe mit ihrer Hurerei, und sie verunreinigte sich mit ihnen, bis sie ihrer müde ward.
23:17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.
23:18 Und da ihre Hurerei und Schande so gar offenbar war, ward ich ihrer überdrüssig, wie ich ihrer Schwester auch war müde geworden.
23:18 So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like my mind was alienated from her sister.
23:19 Sie aber trieb ihre Hurerei immer mehr und gedachte an die Zeit ihrer Jugend, da sie in Ägyptenland Hurerei getrieben hatte,
23:19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
23:20 und entbrannte gegen ihre Buhlen, welcher Brunst war wie der Esel und der Hengste Brunst.
23:20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
23:21 Und du bestelltest deine Unzucht wie in deiner Jugend, da die in Ägypten deine Brüste begriffen und deinen Busen betasteten.
23:21 Thus you called to remembrance the lewdness of your youth, in bruising your teats by the Egyptians for the breast of your youth.
23:22 Darum, Oholiba, so spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will deine Buhlen, deren du müde bist geworden, wider dich erwecken und will sie ringsumher wider dich bringen,
23:22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your mind is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side;
23:23 nämlich die Kinder Babels und alle Chaldäer mit Hauptleuten, Fürsten und Herren und alle Assyrer mit ihnen, die schöne junge Mannschaft, alle Fürsten und Herren, Ritter und Edle, die alle auf Rossen reiten.
23:23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
23:24 Und sie werden über dich kommen, gerüstet mit Wagen und Rädern und mit großem Haufen Volks, und werden dich belagern mit Tartschen, Schilden und Helmen um und um. Denen will ich das Recht befehlen, daß sie dich richten sollen nach ihrem Recht.
23:24 And they shall come against you with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against you buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.
23:25 Ich will meinen Eifer über dich gehen lassen, daß sie unbarmherzig mit dir handeln sollen. Sie sollen dir Nase und Ohren abschneiden; und was übrigbleibt, soll durchs Schwert fallen. Sie sollen deine Söhne und Töchter wegnehmen und das übrige mit Feuer verbrennen.
23:25 And I will set my jealousy against you, and they shall deal furiously with you: they shall take away your nose and yours ears; and your remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take your sons and your daughters; and your residue shall be devoured by the fire.
23:26 Sie sollen dir deine Kleider ausziehen und deinen Schmuck wegnehmen.
23:26 They shall also strip you out of your clothes, and take away your fair jewels.
23:27 Also will ich deiner Unzucht und deiner Hurerei mit Ägyptenland ein Ende machen, daß du deine Augen nicht mehr nach ihnen aufheben und Ägyptens nicht mehr gedenken sollst.
23:27 Thus will I make your lewdness to cease from you, and your whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that you shall not lift up yours eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
23:28 Denn so spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will dich überantworten, denen du feind geworden und deren du müde bist.
23:28 For thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your mind is alienated:
23:29 Die sollen wie Feinde mit dir umgehen und alles nehmen, was du erworben hast, und dich nackt und bloß lassen, daß die Schande deiner Unzucht und Hurerei offenbar werde.
23:29 And they shall deal with you hatefully, and shall take away all your labour, and shall leave you naked and bare: and the nakedness of your whoredoms shall be discovered, both your lewdness and your whoredoms.
23:30 Solches wird dir geschehen um deiner Hurerei willen, so du mit den Heiden getrieben, an deren Götzen du dich verunreinigt hast.
23:30 I will do these things unto you, because you have gone a whoring after the heathen, and because you are polluted with their idols.
23:31 Du bist auf dem Wege deiner Schwester gegangen; darum gebe ich dir auch deren Kelch in deine Hand.
23:31 You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into yours hand.
23:32 So spricht der HERR HERR: Du mußt den Kelch deiner Schwester trinken, so tief und weit er ist: du sollst zu so großem Spott und Hohn werden, daß es unerträglich sein wird.
23:32 Thus says the Lord GOD; You shall drink of your sister's cup deep and large: you shall be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it contains much.
23:33 Du mußt dich des starken Tranks und Jammers vollsaufen; denn der Kelch deiner Schwester Samaria ist ein Kelch des Jammers und Trauerns.
23:33 You shall be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.
23:34 Denselben mußt du rein austrinken, darnach die Scherben zerwerfen und deine Brüste zerreißen; denn ich habe es geredet, spricht der HERR HERR.
23:34 You shall even drink it and suck it out, and you shall break the earthen ware thereof, and pluck off yours own breasts: for I have spoken it, says the Lord GOD.
23:35 Darum so spricht der HERR HERR: Darum, daß du mein vergessen und mich hinter deinen Rücken geworfen hast, so trage auch nun deine Unzucht und deine Hurerei.
23:35 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore bear you also your lewdness and your whoredoms.
23:36 Und der HERR sprach zu mir; Du Menschenkind, willst du nicht Ohola und Oholiba strafen und ihnen zeigen ihre Greuel?
23:36 The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, will you judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
23:37 Wie sie Ehebrecherei getrieben und Blut vergossen und die Ehe gebrochen haben mit den Götzen; dazu ihre Kinder, die sie mir geboren hatten, verbrannten sie denselben zum Opfer.
23:37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
23:38 berdas haben sie mir das getan: sie haben meine Heiligtümer verunreinigt dazumal und meine Sabbate entheiligt.
23:38 Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
23:39 Denn da sie ihre Kinder den Götzen geschlachtet hatten, gingen sie desselben Tages in mein Heiligtum, es zu entheiligen. Siehe, solches haben sie in meinem Hause begangen.
23:39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.
23:40 Sie haben auch Boten geschickt nach Leuten, die aus fernen Landen kommen sollten; und siehe, da sie kamen, badetest du dich und schminktest dich und schmücktest dich mit Geschmeide zu ihren Ehren
23:40 And furthermore, that all of you have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom you did wash yourself, painted your eyes, and decked yourself with ornaments,
23:41 und saßest auf einem herrlichen Polster, vor welchem stand ein Tisch zugerichtet; darauf legtest du mein Räuchwerk und mein Öl.
23:41 And sat upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon you have set mine incense and mine oil.
23:42 Daselbst erhob sich ein großes Freudengeschrei; und es gaben ihnen die Leute, so allenthalben aus großem Volk und aus der Wüste gekommen waren, Geschmeide an ihre Arme und schöne Kronen auf ihre Häupter. {~}
23:42 And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
23:43 Ich aber gedachte: Sie ist der Ehebrecherei gewohnt von alters her; sie kann von der Hurerei nicht lassen.
23:43 Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
23:44 Denn man geht zu ihr ein, wie man zu einer Hure eingeht; ebenso geht man zu Ohola und Oholiba, den unzüchtigen Weibern.
23:44 Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that plays the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.
23:45 Darum werden sie die Männer strafen, die das Recht vollbringen, wie man die Ehebrecherinnen und Blutvergießerinnen strafen soll. Denn sie sind Ehebrecherinnen, und ihre Hände sind voll Blut. {~}
23:45 And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
23:46 Also spricht der HERR HERR: Führe einen großen Haufen über sie herauf und gib sie zu Raub und Beute,
23:46 For thus says the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
23:47 daß die Leute sie steinigen und mit ihren Schwertern erstechen und ihre Söhne und Töchter erwürgen und ihre Häuser mit Feuer verbrennen.
23:47 And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
23:48 Also will ich der Unzucht im Lande ein Ende machen, daß alle Weiber sich warnen lassen und nicht nach solcher Unzucht tun.
23:48 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
23:49 Und man soll eure Unzucht auf euch legen, und ihr sollt eurer Götzen Sünden tragen, auf daß ihr erfahret, daß ich der HERR HERR bin.
23:49 And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and all of you shall bear the sins of your idols: and all of you shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel / HESEKIEL (EZECHIEL)
24:1 Und es geschah das Wort des HERRN zu mir im neunten Jahr, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats, und sprach:
24:1 Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24:2 Du Menschenkind, schreib diesen Tag an, ja, eben diesen Tag; denn der König zu Babel hat sich eben an diesem Tage wider Jerusalem gelagert.
24:2 Son of man, write you the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
24:3 Und gib dem ungehorsamen Volk ein Gleichnis und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Setze einen Topf zu, setze zu und gieß Wasser hinein;
24:3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
24:4 tue die Stücke zusammen darein, die hinein sollen, alle besten Stücke, die Lenden und Schultern, und fülle ihn mit den besten Knochenstücken;
24:4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
24:5 nimm das Beste von der Herde und mache ein Feuer darunter, Knochenstücke zu kochen, und laß es getrost sieden und die Knochenstücke darin wohl kochen.
24:5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
24:6 Darum spricht der HERR HERR: O der mörderischen Stadt, die ein solcher Topf ist, da der Rost daran klebt und nicht abgehen will! Tue ein Stück nach dem andern heraus; und du darfst nicht darum losen, welches zuerst heraus soll.
24:6 Wherefore thus says the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
24:7 Denn ihr Blut ist darin, das sie auf einen bloßen Felsen und nicht auf die Erde verschüttet hat, da man's doch hätte mit Erde können zuscharren.
24:7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
24:8 Und ich habe auch darum sie lassen das Blut auf einen bloßen Felsen schütten, daß es nicht zugescharrt würde, auf daß der Grimm über sie käme und es gerächt würde.
24:8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
24:9 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also: O du mörderische Stadt, welche ich will zu einem großen Feuer machen!
24:9 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.
24:10 Trage nur viel Holz her, zünde das Feuer an, daß das Fleisch gar werde, und würze es wohl, und die Knochenstücke sollen anbrennen.
24:10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
24:11 Lege auch den Topf leer auf die Glut, auf das er heiß werde und sein Erz entbrenne, ob seine Unreinigkeit zerschmelzen und sein Rost abgehen wolle. {~}
24:11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
24:12 Aber wie sehr er brennt, will sein Rost doch nicht abgehen, denn es ist zuviel des Rosts; er muß im Feuer zerschmelzen.
24:12 She has wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
24:13 Deine Unreinigkeit ist so verhärtet, daß, ob ich dich gleich reinigen wollte, dennoch du nicht willst dich reinigen lassen von deiner Unreinigkeit. Darum kannst du hinfort nicht wieder rein werden, bis mein Grimm sich an dir gekühlt habe.
24:13 In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged you, and you were not purged, you shall not be purged from your filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon you.
24:14 Ich, der HERR, habe es geredet! Es soll kommen, ich will's tun und nicht säumen; ich will nicht schonen noch mich's reuen lassen; sondern sie sollen dich richten, wie du gelebt und getan hast, spricht der HERR HERR.
24:14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord GOD.
24:15 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
24:15 Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24:16 Du Menschenkind, siehe, ich will dir deiner Augen Lust nehmen durch eine Plage, aber du sollst nicht klagen noch weinen noch eine Träne lassen.
24:16 Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of yours eyes with a stroke: yet neither shall you mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.
24:17 Heimlich magst du seufzen, aber keine Totenklage führen; sondern du sollst deinen Schmuck anlegen und deine Schuhe anziehen. Du sollst deinen Mund nicht verhüllen und nicht das Trauerbrot essen.
24:17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the head decoration of yours head upon you, and put on your shoes upon your feet, and cover not your lips, and eat not the bread of men.
24:18 Und da ich des Morgens früh zum Volk geredet hatte, starb mir am Abend mein Weib. Und ich tat des andern Morgens, wie mir befohlen war.
24:18 So I spoke unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
24:19 Und das Volk sprach zu mir: Willst du uns nicht anzeigen, was uns das bedeutet, was du tust?
24:19 And the people said unto me, Will you not tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?
24:20 Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Der HERR hat mir geredet und gesagt:
24:20 Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24:21 Sage dem Hause Israel, daß der HERR HERR spricht also: Siehe, ich will mein Heiligtum, euren höchsten Trost, die Lust eurer Augen und eures Herzens Wunsch entheiligen; und euer Söhne und Töchter, die ihr verlassen mußtet, werden durchs Schwert fallen.
24:21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom all of you have left shall fall by the sword.
24:22 Und müßt tun, wie ich getan habe: euren Mund sollt ihr nicht verhüllen und das Trauerbrot nicht essen,
24:22 And all of you shall do as I have done: all of you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
24:23 sondern sollt euren Schmuck auf euer Haupt setzen und eure Schuhe anziehen. Ihr werdet nicht klagen noch weinen, sondern über eure Sünden verschmachten und untereinander seufzen.
24:23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: all of you shall not mourn nor weep; but all of you shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
24:24 Und soll also Hesekiel euch ein Wunderzeichen sein, daß ihr tun müßt, wie er getan hat, wenn es nun kommen wird, damit ihr erfahrt, daß ich der HERR HERR bin.
24:24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he has done shall all of you do: and when this comes, all of you shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
24:25 Und du, Menschenkind, zu der Zeit, wann ich wegnehmen werde von ihnen ihre Macht und ihren Trost, die Lust ihrer Augen und des Herzens Wunsch, ihre Söhne und Töchter,
24:25 Also, you son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
24:26 ja, zur selben Zeit wird einer, so entronnen ist, zu dir kommen und dir's kundtun.
24:26 That he that escapes in that day shall come unto you, to cause you to hear it with yours ears?
24:27 Zur selben Zeit wird dein Mund aufgetan werden samt dem, der entronnen ist, daß du reden sollst und nicht mehr schweigen; denn du mußt ihr Wunderzeichen sein, daß sie erfahren, ich sei der HERR.
24:27 In that day shall your mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and you shall speak, and be no more dumb: and you shall be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

25:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
25:1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
25:2 Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht gegen die Kinder Ammon und weissage wider sie
25:2 Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;
25:3 und sprich zu den Kindern Ammon: Höret des HERRN HERRN Wort! So spricht der HERR HERR: Darum daß ihr über mein Heiligtum sprecht: "Ha! es ist entheiligt!" und über das Land Israel: "Es ist verwüstet!" und über das Haus Juda: "Es ist gefangen weggeführt!",
25:3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus says the Lord GOD; Because you said, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
25:4 darum siehe, ich will dich den Kindern des Morgenlandes übergeben, daß sie ihre Zeltdörfer in dir bauen und ihre Wohnungen in dir machen sollen; sie sollen deine Früchte essen und deine Milch trinken.
25:4 Behold, therefore I will deliver you to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in you, and make their dwellings in you: they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.
25:5 Und will Rabba zum Kamelstall machen und das Land der Kinder Ammon zu Schafhürden machen; und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
25:5 And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks: and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.
25:6 Denn so spricht der HERR HERR: Darum daß du mit deinen Händen geklatscht und mit den Füßen gescharrt und über das Land Israel von ganzem Herzen so höhnisch dich gefreut hast,
25:6 For thus says the Lord GOD; Because you have clapped yours hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all your despite against the land of Israel;
25:7 darum siehe, ich will meine Hand über dich ausstrecken und dich den Heiden zur Beute geben und dich aus den Völkern ausrotten und aus den Ländern umbringen und dich vertilgen; und sollst erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
25:7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut you off from the people, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am the LORD.
25:8 So spricht der HERR HERR: Darum daß Moab und Seir sprechen: Siehe das Haus Juda ist eben wie alle Heiden!
25:8 Thus says the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;
25:9 siehe, so will ich Moab zur Seite öffnen in seinen Städten und in seinen Grenzen, das edle Land von Beth-Jesimoth, Baal-Meon und Kirjathaim,
25:9 Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,
25:10 und will es den Kindern des Morgenlandes zum Erbe geben samt dem Lande der Kinder Ammon, daß man der Kinder Ammon nicht mehr gedenken soll unter den Heiden.
25:10 Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.
25:11 Und will das Recht gehen lassen über Moab; und sie sollen erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
25:11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
25:12 So spricht der HERR HERR: Darum daß sich Edom am Hause Juda gerächt hat und sich verschuldet mit seinem Rächen, {~}
25:12 Thus says the Lord GOD; Because that Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
25:13 darum spricht der HERR HERR also: Ich will meine Hand ausstrecken über Edom und will ausrotten von ihm Menschen und Vieh und will es wüst machen von Theman bis gen Dedan und durchs Schwert fällen;
25:13 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
25:14 und will mich an Edom rächen durch mein Volk Israel, und sie sollen mit Edom umgehen nach meinem Zorn und Grimm, daß sie meine Rache erfahren sollen, spricht der HERR HERR.
25:14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord GOD.
25:15 So spricht der HERR HERR: Darum daß die Philister sich gerächt haben und den alten Haß gebüßt nach allem ihrem Willen am Schaden meines Volkes,
25:15 Thus says the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
25:16 darum spricht der HERR HERR also: Siehe, ich will meine Hand ausstrecken über die Philister und die Krether ausrotten und will die übrigen am Ufer des Meeres umbringen;
25:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
25:17 und will große Rache an ihnen üben und mit Grimm sie strafen, daß sie erfahren sollen, ich sei der HERR, wenn ich meine Rache an ihnen geübt habe.
25:17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
