Hosea / HOSEA
1:1 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, das geschehen ist zu Hosea, dem Sohn Beeris, zu der Zeit des Usia, Jotham, Ahas und Hiskia, der Könige Juda's, und zur Zeit Jerobeams, des Sohnes Joas, des Königs in Israel.
1:1 The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
1:2 Da der HERR anfing zu reden durch Hosea, sprach er zu ihm: Gehe hin und nimm ein Hurenweib und Hurenkinder; denn das Land läuft vom HERRN der Hurerei nach.
1:2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.
1:3 Und er ging hin und nahm Gomer, die Tochter Diblaims, die ward schwanger und gebar ihm einen Sohn.
1:3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.
1:4 Und der HERR sprach zu ihm: Heiße ihn Jesreel; denn es ist noch um eine kleine Zeit, so will ich die Blutschulden in Jesreel heimsuchen über das Haus Jehu und will mit dem Königreich des Hauses Israel ein Ende machen.
1:4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
1:5 Zur selben Zeit will ich den Bogen Israels zerbrechen im Tal Jesreel.
1:5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.
1:6 Und sie ward abermals schwanger und gebar eine Tochter. Und er sprach zu ihm: Heiße sie Lo-Ruhama; denn ich will mich nicht mehr über das Haus Israel erbarmen, daß ich ihnen vergäbe.
1:6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
1:7 Doch will ich mich erbarmen über das Haus Juda und will ihnen helfen durch den HERRN, ihren Gott; ich will ihnen aber nicht helfen durch Bogen, Schwert, Streit, Rosse oder Reiter.
1:7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.
1:8 Und da sie hatte Lo-Ruhama entwöhnt, ward sie wieder schwanger und gebar einen Sohn.
1:8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.
1:9 Und er sprach: Heiße ihn Lo-Ammi; denn ihr seid nicht mein Volk, so will ich auch nicht der Eure sein.
1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for all of you are not my people, and I will not be your God.
1:10 2:1 Es wird aber die Zahl der Kinder in Israel sein wie der Sand am Meer, den man weder messen noch zählen kann. Und es soll geschehen an dem Ort, da man zu ihnen gesagt hat: "Ihr seid nicht mein Volk", wird man zu ihnen sagen: "O ihr Kinder des lebendigen Gottes!"
1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, All of you are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, All of you are the sons of the living God.
1:11 2:2 Denn es werden die Kinder Juda und die Kinder Israel zuhauf kommen und werden sich miteinander an ein Haupt halten und aus dem Lande heraufziehen; denn der Tag Jesreels wird ein großer Tag sein.
1:11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

2:1 Sagt euren Brüdern, sie seien mein Volk, und zu eurer Schwester, sie sei in Gnaden.
2:1 Say all of you unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
2:2 Sprecht das Urteil über eure Mutter-sie sei nicht mein Weib, und ich will sie nicht haben! -,heißt sie ihre Hurerei von ihrem Angesichte wegtun und ihre Ehebrecherei von ihren Brüsten, {~} {~}
2:2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
2:3 auf daß ich sie nicht nackt ausziehe und darstelle, wie sie war, da sie geboren ward, und ich sie nicht mache wie ein dürres Land, daß ich sie nicht Durstes sterben lasse{~} {~}
2:3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
2:4 und mich ihrer Kinder nicht erbarme, denn sie sind Hurenkinder;
2:4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.
2:5 denn ihre Mutter ist eine Hure, und die sie getragen hat, hält sich schändlich und spricht: Ich will meinen Buhlen nachlaufen, die mir geben Brot, Wasser, Wolle, Flachs, Öl und Trinken.
2:5 For their mother has played the harlot: she that conceived them has done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
2:6 Darum siehe, ich will deinen Weg mit Dornen vermachen und eine Wand davorziehen, daß sie ihren Steig nicht finden soll;
2:6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
2:7 und wenn sie ihren Buhlen nachläuft, daß sie dich nicht ergreifen, und wenn sie dich sucht, sie nicht finden könne und sagen müsse: Ich will wiederum zu meinem vorigen Mann gehen, da mir besser war, denn mir jetzt ist.
2:7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
2:8 Denn sie will nicht wissen, daß ich es sei, der ihr gibt Korn, Most und Öl und ihr viel Silber und Gold gegeben hat, das sie haben Baal zu Ehren gebraucht.
2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
2:9 Darum will ich mein Korn und meinen Most wieder nehmen zu seiner Zeit und ihr meine Wolle und meinen Flachs entziehen, damit sie ihre Blöße bedeckt. {~}
2:9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
2:10 Nun will ich ihre Schande aufdecken vor den Augen ihrer Buhlen, und niemand soll sie von meiner Hand erretten.
2:10 And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
2:11 Und ich will ein Ende machen mit allen ihren Freuden, Festen, Neumonden, Sabbaten und allen ihren Feiertagen.
2:11 I will also cause all her delight to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
2:12 Ich will ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume wüst machen, weil sie sagt: "Das ist mein Lohn, den mir meine Buhlen gegeben." Ich will einen Wald daraus machen, daß es die wilden Tiere fressen sollen.
2:12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she has said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
2:13 Also will ich heimsuchen über sie die Tage der Baalim, denen sie Räuchopfer tut und schmückt sich mit Stirnspangen und Halsbändern und läuft ihren Buhlen nach und vergißt mein, spricht der HERR.
2:13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgotten about me, says the LORD.
2:14 Darum siehe, ich will sie locken und will sie in die Wüste führen und freundlich mit ihr reden.
2:14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
2:15 Da will ich ihr geben ihre Weinberge aus demselben Ort und das Tal Achor zum Tor der Hoffnung. Und daselbst wird sie singen wie zur Zeit ihrer Jugend, da sie aus Ägyptenland zog.
2:15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
2:16 Alsdann spricht der HERR, wirst du mich heißen "mein Mann" und mich nicht mehr "mein Baal" heißen.
2:16 And it shall be at that day, says the LORD, that you shall call me Ishi; and shall call me no more Baali.
2:17 Denn ich will die Namen der Baalim von ihrem Munde wegtun, daß man ihrer Namen nicht mehr gedenken soll.
2:17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
2:18 Und ich will zur selben Zeit ihnen einen Bund machen mit den Tieren auf dem Felde, mit den Vögeln unter dem Himmel und mit dem Gewürm auf Erden und will Bogen, Schwert und Krieg vom Lande zerbrechen und will sie sicher wohnen lassen.
2:18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
2:19 Ich will mich mit dir verloben in Ewigkeit; ich will mich mit dir vertrauen in Gerechtigkeit und Gericht, in Gnade und Barmherzigkeit.
2:19 And I will betroth you unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth you unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies.
2:20 Ja, im Glauben will ich mich mit dir verloben und du wirst den HERRN erkennen.
2:20 I will even betroth you unto me in faithfulness: and you shall know the LORD.
2:21 Zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR, will ich erhören, ich will den Himmel erhören und der Himmel soll die Erde erhören,
2:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, says the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
2:22 und die Erde soll Korn, Most und Öl erhören, und diese sollen Jesreel erhören.
2:22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
2:23 Und ich will sie mir auf Erden zum Samen behalten und mich erbarmen über die, so in Ungnaden war, und sagen zu dem, das nicht mein Volk war: Du bist mein Volk; und es wird sagen: Du bist mein Gott.
2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, You are my people; and they shall say, You are my God.

3:1 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Gehe noch einmal hin und buhle um ein buhlerisches und ehebrecherisches Weib, wie denn der HERR um die Kinder Israel buhlt, und sie sich doch zu fremden Göttern kehren und buhlen um eine Kanne Wein.
3:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
3:2 Und ich ward mit ihr eins um fünfzehn Silberlinge und anderthalb Scheffel Gerste{~}
3:2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
3:3 und sprach zu ihr: Halt dich als die Meine eine lange Zeit und hure nicht und gehöre keinem andern an; denn ich will mich auch als den Deinen halten.
3:3 And I said unto her, You shall abide for me many days; you shall not play the harlot, and you shall not be for another man: so will I also be for you.
3:4 Denn die Kinder Israel werden lange Zeit ohne König, ohne Fürsten, ohne Opfer, ohne Altar, ohne Leibrock und ohne Heiligtum bleiben.
3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
3:5 Darnach werden sich die Kinder Israel bekehren und den HERRN, ihren Gott, und ihren König David suchen und werden mit Zittern zu dem HERRN und seiner Gnade kommen in der letzten Zeit.
3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

4:1 Höret, ihr Kinder Israel, des HERRN Wort! denn der HERR hat Ursache, zu schelten, die im Lande wohnen; denn es ist keine Treue, keine Liebe, keine Erkenntnis Gottes im Lande;
4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, all of you children of Israel: for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
4:2 sondern Gotteslästern, Lügen, Morden, Stehlen und Ehebrechen hat überhandgenommen und eine Blutschuld kommt nach der andern.
4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood touches blood.
4:3 Darum wird das Land jämmerlich stehen, und allen Einwohnern wird's übel gehen; denn es werden auch die Tiere auf dem Felde und die Vögel unter dem Himmel und die Fische im Meer weggerafft werden.
4:3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwells therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4:4 Doch man darf nicht schelten noch jemand strafen; denn dein Volk ist wie die, so den Priester schelten.
4:4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for your people are as they that strive with the priest.
4:5 Darum sollst du bei Tage fallen und der Prophet des Nachts neben dir fallen; also will ich deine Mutter zu Grunde richten.
4:5 Therefore shall you fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with you in the night, and I will destroy your mother.
4:6 Mein Volk ist dahin, darum daß es nicht lernen will. Denn du verwirfst Gottes Wort; darum will ich dich auch verwerfen, daß du nicht mein Priester sein sollst. Du vergißt das Gesetz deines Gottes; darum will ich auch deine Kinder vergessen.
4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
4:7 Je mehr ihrer wird, je mehr sie wider mich sündigen; darum will ich ihre Ehre zu Schanden machen.
4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
4:8 Sie fressen die Sündopfer meines Volks und sind begierig nach ihren Sünden. {~}
4:8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
4:9 Darum soll es dem Volk gleich wie dem Priester gehen; denn ich will ihr Tun heimsuchen und ihnen vergelten, wie sie verdienen,
4:9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
4:10 daß sie werden essen, und nicht satt werden, Hurerei treiben und sich nicht ausbreiten, darum daß sie den HERRN verlassen haben und ihn nicht achten.
4:10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
4:11 Hurerei, Wein und Most machen toll.
4:11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
4:12 Mein Volk fragt sein Holz, und sein Stab soll ihm predigen; denn der Hurerei-Geist verführt sie, daß sie wider ihren Gott Hurerei treiben.
4:12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declares unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms has caused them to go astray, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
4:13 Oben auf den Bergen opfern sie, und auf den Hügeln räuchern sie, unter den Eichen, Linden und Buchen; denn die haben feinen Schatten. Darum werden eure Töchter auch zu Huren und eure Bräute zu Ehebrechrinnen werden.
4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
4:14 Und ich will's auch nicht wehren, wenn eure Töchter und Bräute geschändet werden, weil ihr einen andern Gottesdienst anrichtet mit den Huren und opfert mit den Bübinnen. Denn das törichte Volk will geschlagen sein. {~} {~} {~}
4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that does not understand shall fall.
4:15 Willst du, Israel, ja huren, daß sich doch nur Juda nicht auch verschulde. Geht nicht hin gen Gilgal und kommt nicht hinauf gen Beth-Aven und schwört nicht: So wahr der HERR lebt!
4:15 Though you, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not all of you unto Gilgal, neither go all of you up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD lives.
4:16 Denn Israel läuft wie eine tolle Kuh; so wird sie auch der HERR weiden lassen wie ein Lamm in der Irre.
4:16 For Israel slides back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
4:17 Denn Ephraim hat sich zu den Götzen gesellt; so laß ihn hinfahren.
4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
4:18 Sie haben sich in die Schwelgerei und Hurerei gegeben; ihre Herren haben Lust dazu, daß sie Schande anrichten. {~}
4:18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give all of you.
4:19 Der Wind mit seinen Flügeln wird sie zusammen wegtreiben; sie müssen über ihrem Opfer zu Schanden werden.
4:19 The wind has bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.

5:1 So hört nun dies, ihr Priester, und merke auf, du Haus Israel, und nimm zu Ohren, du Haus des Königs! denn es wird eine Strafe über euch gehen, die ihr ein Strick zu Mizpa und ein ausgespanntes Netz zu Thabor geworden seid.
5:1 Hear all of you this, O priests; and hearken, all of you house of Israel; and give all of you ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because all of you have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
5:2 Mit ihrem Schlachten vertiefen sie sich in ihrem Verlaufen; darum muß ich sie allesamt strafen.
5:2 And the apostates are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
5:3 Ich kenne Ephraim wohl, und Israel ist vor mir nicht verborgen, daß Ephraim nun eine Hure und Israel unrein ist.
5:3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, you commit whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
5:4 Sie denken nicht daran, daß sie sich kehren zu ihrem Gott; denn sie haben einen Hurengeist in ihrem Herzen, und den HERRN kennen sie nicht.
5:4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5:5 Und die Hoffart Israels zeugt wider sie ins Angesicht. Darum sollen beide, Israel und Ephraim, fallen um ihrer Missetat willen; auch soll Juda samt ihnen fallen.
5:5 And the pride of Israel does testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
5:6 Alsdann werden sie kommen mit ihren Schafen und Rindern, den HERRN zu suchen, aber ihn nicht finden; denn er hat sich von ihnen gewandt.
5:6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them.
5:7 Sie verachten den HERRN und zeugen fremde Kinder; darum wird sie auch der Neumond fressen mit ihrem Erbteil.
5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
5:8 Ja, blaset Posaunen zu Gibea, ja, drommetet zu Rama, ja, ruft zu Beth-Aven: "Hinter dir, Benjamin!"
5:8 Blow all of you the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after you, O Benjamin.
5:9 Denn Ephraim soll zur Wüste werden zu der Zeit, wann ich sie strafen werde. Davor habe ich die Stämme Israels treulich gewarnt.
5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
5:10 Die Fürsten Juda's sind gleich denen, so die Grenze verrücken; darum will ich meinen Zorn über sie ausschütten wie Wasser.
5:10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
5:11 Ephraim leidet Gewalt und wird geplagt; daran geschieht ihm recht, denn er hat sich gegeben auf Menschengebot.
5:11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
5:12 Ich bin dem Ephraim wie eine Motte und dem Hause Juda wie eine Made.
5:12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
5:13 Und da Ephraim seine Krankheit und Juda seine Wunde fühlte, zog Ephraim hin zu Assur und schickte den König Jareb; aber er kann euch nicht helfen noch eure Wunde heilen.
5:13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
5:14 Denn ich bin dem Ephraim wie ein Löwe und dem Hause Juda wie ein junger Löwe. Ich, ich zerreiße sie und gehe davon; ich führe sie weg, und niemand kann sie retten.
5:14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
5:15 Ich will wiederum an meinen Ort gehen, bis sie ihre Schuld erkennen und mein Angesicht suchen; wenn's ihnen übel geht, so werden sie mich suchen und sagen:
5:15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

6:1 Kommt, wir wollen wieder zum HERRN; denn er hat uns zerrissen, er wird uns auch heilen; er hat uns geschlagen, er wird uns auch verbinden.
6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up.
6:2 Er macht uns lebendig nach zwei Tagen; er wird uns am dritten Tag aufrichten, daß wir vor ihm leben werden.
6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
6:3 Dann werden wir acht darauf haben und fleißig sein, daß wir den HERRN erkennen. Denn er wird hervorbrechen wie die schöne Morgenröte und wird zu uns kommen wie ein Regen, wie ein Spätregen, der das Land feuchtet.
6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
6:4 Was soll ich dir tun, Ephraim? was soll ich dir tun, Juda? Denn eure Liebe ist wie eine Morgenwolke und wie ein Tau, der frühmorgens vergeht.
6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto you? O Judah, what shall I do unto you? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away.
6:5 Darum schlage ich sie durch die Propheten und töte sie durch meines Mundes Rede, daß mein Recht wie das Licht hervorkomme.
6:5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and your judgments are as the light that goes forth.
6:6 Denn ich habe Lust an der Liebe, und nicht am Opfer, und an der Erkenntnis Gottes, und nicht am Brandopfer.
6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
6:7 Aber sie übertreten den Bund wie Adam; darin verachten sie mich.
6:7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
6:8 Denn Gilead ist eine Stadt voll Abgötterei und Blutschulden.
6:8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
6:9 Und die Priester samt ihrem Haufen sind wie die Räuber, so da lauern auf die Leute und würgen auf dem Wege, der gen Sichem geht; denn sie tun, was sie wollen.
6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
6:10 Ich sehe im Hause Israel, davor mir graut; denn da hurt Ephraim und verunreinigt sich Israel.
6:10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
6:11 Aber auch Juda wird noch eine Ernte vor sich haben, wenn ich meines Volks Gefängnis wenden werde.
6:11 Also, O Judah, he has set an harvest for you, when I returned the captivity of my people.

7:1 Wenn ich Israel heilen will, so findet sich erst die Sünde Ephraims und die Bosheit Samarias, wie sie Lügen treiben und Diebe einsteigen und Räuber draußen plündern;
7:1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief comes in, and the troop of robbers spoils without.
7:2 dennoch wollen sie nicht merken, daß ich alle ihre Bosheit merke. Ich sehe aber ihr Wesen wohl, das sie allenthalben treiben.
7:2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
7:3 Sie vertrösten den König durch ihre Bosheit und die Fürsten durch ihre Lügen;
7:3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
7:4 und sind allesamt Ehebrecher gleichwie ein Backofen, den der Bäcker heizt, wenn er hat ausgeknetet und läßt den Teig durchsäuern und aufgehen.
7:4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceases from raising after he has kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
7:5 Heute ist unsers Königs Fest sprechen sie, da fangen die Fürsten an, vom Wein toll zu werden; so zieht er die Spötter zu sich.
7:5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
7:6 Denn ihr Herz ist in heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen, wenn sie opfern und die Leute betrügen; ihr Bäcker schläft die ganze Nacht, und des Morgens brennt er lichterloh.
7:6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleeps all the night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
7:7 Allesamt sind sie so heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen, also daß ihre Richter aufgefressen werden und alle ihre Könige fallen; und ist keiner unter ihnen, der mich anrufe.
7:7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calls unto me.
7:8 Ephraim mengt sich unter die Völker; Ephraim ist wie ein Kuchen, den niemand umwendet.
7:8 Ephraim, he has mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
7:9 Fremde fressen seine Kraft, doch will er's nicht merken; er hat auch graue Haare gekriegt, doch will er's nicht merken.
7:9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows not.
7:10 Und die Hoffart Israels zeugt wider sie ins Angesicht; dennoch bekehren sie sich nicht zum HERRN, ihrem Gott, fragen auch nicht nach ihm in diesem allem.
7:10 And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
7:11 Denn Ephraim ist wie eine verlockte Taube, die nichts merken will. Jetzt rufen sie Ägypten an, dann laufen sie zu Assur.
7:11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
7:12 Aber indem sie hin und her laufen, will ich mein Netz über sie werfen und sie herunterholen wie die Vögel unter dem Himmel; ich will sie strafen, wie man predigt in ihrer Versammlung.
7:12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
7:13 Weh ihnen, daß sie von mir weichen! Sie müssen verstört werden; denn sie sind von mir abtrünnig geworden! Ich wollte sie wohl erlösen, wenn sie nicht wider mich Lügen lehrten.
7:13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
7:14 So rufen sie mich auch nicht an von Herzen, sondern Heulen auf ihren Lagern. Sie sammeln sich um Korn und Mosts willen und sind mir ungehorsam.
7:14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
7:15 Ich lehre sie und stärke ihren Arm; aber sie denken Böses von mir.
7:15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
7:16 Sie bekehren sich, aber nicht recht, sondern sind wie ein falscher Bogen. Darum werden ihre Fürsten durchs Schwert fallen; ihr Drohen soll in Ägyptenland zum Spott werden. {~} {~} {~}
7:16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

8:1 Rufe laut wie eine Posaune: Er kommt über das Haus des HERRN wie ein Adler, darum daß sie meinen Bund übertreten und von meinem Gesetz abtrünnig werden.
8:1 Set the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
8:2 Dann werden sie zu mir schreien: Du bist mein Gott; wir, Israel, kennen dich!
8:2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know you.
8:3 Israel verwirft das Gute; darum muß sie der Feind verfolgen.
8:3 Israel has cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
8:4 Sie machen Könige, aber ohne mich; sie setzen Fürsten, und ich darf es nicht wissen. Aus ihrem Silber und Gold machen sie Götzen, daß sie ja bald ausgerottet werden.
8:4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
8:5 Dein Kalb, Samaria, verwirft er; mein Zorn ist über sie ergrimmt. Es kann nicht lange anstehen, sie müssen gestraft werden.
8:5 Your calf, O Samaria, has cast you off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be before they attain to innocence?
8:6 Denn das Kalb ist aus Israel hergekommen, und ein Werkmann hat's gemacht, und es kann ja kein Gott sein; darum soll das Kalb Samarias zerpulvert werden.
8:6 For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
8:7 Denn sie säen Wind und werden Ungewitter einernten; ihre Saat soll nicht aufkommen und ihr Gewächs kein Mehl geben; und ob's geben würde, sollen's doch Fremde fressen.
8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it has no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8:8 Israel wird aufgefressen; die Heiden gehen mit ihnen um wie mit einem unwerten Gefäß,
8:8 Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8:9 darum daß sie hinauf zum Assur laufen wie ein Wild in der Irre. Ephraim schenkt den Buhlern und gibt den Heiden Tribut.
8:9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim has hired lovers.
8:10 Dieselben Heiden will ich nun über sie sammeln; sie sollen der Last des Königs der Fürsten bald müde werden. {~}
8:10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
8:11 Denn Ephraim hat der Altäre viel gemacht zu sündigen; so sollen auch die Altäre ihm zur Sünde geraten.
8:11 Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
8:12 Wenn ich ihm gleich viel tausend Gebote meines Gesetzes schreibe, so wird's geachtet wie eine Fremde Lehre.
8:12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
8:13 Ob sie schon viel opfern und Fleisch herbringen und essen's, so hat doch der HERR kein Gefallen an ihnen; sondern er will ihrer Missetat gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen; sie sollen wieder nach Ägypten kommen!
8:13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepts them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
8:14 Israel vergißt seines Schöpfers und baut Paläste; so macht Juda viel feste Städte; aber ich will Feuer in seine Städte schicken, welches soll seine Häuser verzehren.
8:14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

9:1 Du darfst dich nicht freuen, Israel, noch rühmen wie die Völker; denn du hurst wider deinen Gott und suchst damit Hurenlohn, daß alle Tennen voll Getreide werden.
9:1 Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for you have gone a whoring from your God, you have loved a reward upon floors of corn.
9:2 Darum sollen dich Tenne und Kelter nicht nähren, und der Most soll dir fehlen.
9:2 The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
9:3 Sie sollen nicht bleiben im Lande des HERRN, sondern Ephraim muß wieder nach Ägypten und muß in Assyrien Unreines essen,
9:3 They shall not dwell in the LORD's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
9:4 wo sie dem HERRN kein Trankopfer vom Wein noch etwas zu Gefallen tun können. Ihr Opfer soll sein wie der Betrübten Brot, an welchem unrein werden alle, die davon essen; denn ihr Brot müssen sie für sich selbst essen, und es soll nicht in des HERRN Haus gebracht werden.
9:4 They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
9:5 Was wollt ihr alsdann an den Jahrfesten und an den Feiertagen des HERRN tun?
9:5 What will all of you do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
9:6 Siehe, sie müssen weg vor dem Verstörer. Ägypten wird sie sammeln, und Moph wird sie begraben. Nesseln werden wachsen, da jetzt ihr liebes Götzensilber steht, und Dornen in ihren Hütten.
9:6 For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
9:7 Die Zeit der Heimsuchung ist gekommen, die Zeit der Vergeltung; des wird Israel innewerden. Die Propheten sind Narren, und die Rottengeister sind wahnsinnig um deiner großen Missetat und um der großen feindseligen Abgötterei willen. {~}
9:7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of yours iniquity, and the great hatred.
9:8 Die Wächter in Ephraim hielten sich vormals an meinen Gott; aber nun sind sie Propheten, die Stricke legen auf allen ihren Wegen durch die feindselige Abgötterei im Hause ihres Gottes.
9:8 The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9:9 Sie verderben's zu tief wie zur Zeit Gibeas; darum wird er ihrer Missetat gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen.
9:9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
9:10 Ich fand Israel in der Wüste wie Trauben und sah eure Väter wie die ersten Feigen am Feigenbaum; aber hernach gingen sie zu Baal-Peor und gelobten sich dem schändlichen Abgott und wurden ja so greulich wie ihre Buhlen.
9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-fruits in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
9:11 Darum muß die Herrlichkeit Ephraims wie ein Vogel wegfliegen, daß sie weder gebären noch tragen noch schwanger werden sollen.
9:11 As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
9:12 Und ob sie ihre Kinder gleich erzögen, will ich sie doch ohne Kinder machen, daß keine Leute mehr sein sollen. Auch weh ihnen, wenn ich von ihnen gewichen bin! {~}
9:12 Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
9:13 Ephraim, wie ich es ansehe, ist gepflanzt und hübsch wie Tyrus, muß aber nun seine Kinder herauslassen dem Totschläger.
9:13 Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
9:14 HERR, gib ihnen-was willst du ihnen aber geben -,gib ihnen unfruchtbare Leiber und versiegte Brüste!
9:14 Give them, O LORD: what will you give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
9:15 Alle ihre Bosheit geschieht zu Gilgal, daselbst bin ich ihnen feind; und ich will sie auch um ihres bösen Wesens willen aus meinem Hause stoßen und ihnen nicht mehr Liebe erzeigen; denn alle Ihre Fürsten sind Abtrünnige.
9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are apostates.
9:16 Ephraim ist geschlagen; ihre Wurzel ist verdorrt, daß sie keine Frucht mehr bringen können. Und ob sie gebären würden, will ich doch die liebe Frucht ihres Leibes töten.
9:16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.
9:17 Mein Gott wird sie verwerfen, darum daß sie ihn nicht hören wollen; und sie müssen unter den Heiden in der Irre gehen.
9:17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

10:1 Israel ist ein ausgebreiteter Weinstock, der seine Frucht trägt. Aber soviel Früchte er hatte, so viel Altäre hatte er gemacht; wo das Land am besten war, da stifteten sie die schönsten Bildsäulen.
10:1 Israel is an empty vine, he brings forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he has increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
10:2 Ihr Herz ist zertrennt; nun wird sie ihre Schuld finden. Ihre Altäre sollen zerbrochen und ihre Bildsäulen sollen zerstört werden.
10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
10:3 Alsdann müssen sie sagen: Wir haben keinen König, denn wir fürchteten den HERRN nicht; was kann uns der König nun helfen?
10:3 For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?
10:4 Sie reden und schwören vergeblich und machen einen Bund, und solcher Rat grünt auf allen Furchen im Felde wie giftiges Kraut.
10:4 They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springs up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.
10:5 Die Einwohner zu Samaria sorgen um das Kalb zu Beth-Aven; denn sein Volk trauert darum, und seine Götzenpfaffen zittern seiner Herrlichkeit halben; denn sie wird von ihnen weggeführt.
10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
10:6 Ja, das Kalb wird nach Assyrien gebracht zum Geschenke dem König Jareb. Also muß Ephraim mit Schanden stehen und Israel schändlich gehen mit seinen Vornehmen.
10:6 It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
10:7 Denn der König zu Samaria ist dahin wie ein Schaum auf dem Wasser.
10:7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.
10:8 Die Höhen zu Aven sind vertilgt, durch die sich Israel versündigte; Disteln und Dornen wachsen auf ihren Altären. Und sie werden sagen: Ihr Berge bedeckt uns! und: Ihr Hügel, fallt über uns!
10:8 The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
10:9 Israel, du hast seit der Zeit Gibeas gesündigt; dabei sind sie auch geblieben. Aber es soll sie ein Streit, nicht gleich dem zu Gibea, ergreifen, so wider die bösen Leute geschah;
10:9 O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
10:10 sondern ich will sie züchtigen nach meinem Wunsch, daß alle Völker sollen über sie versammelt kommen, wenn ich sie werde strafen um ihre zwei Sünden.
10:10 It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.
10:11 Ephraim ist ein Kalb, gewöhnt, daß man es gern drischt. Ich will ihm über seinen schönen Hals fahren; ich will Ephraim retten, Juda soll pflügen und Jakob eggen.
10:11 And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loves to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.
10:12 Darum säet euch Gerechtigkeit und erntet Liebe; pflüget ein Neues, weil es Zeit ist, den HERRN zu suchen, bis daß er komme und lasse regnen über euch Gerechtigkeit.
10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rain righteousness upon you.
10:13 Denn ihr pflüget Böses und erntet Übeltat und esset Lügenfrüchte. {~} {~} {~} {~} {~}
10:13 All of you have plowed wickedness, all of you have reaped iniquity; all of you have eaten the fruit of lies: because you did trust in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.
10:14 Weil du dich denn verläßt auf dein Wesen und auf die Menge deiner Helden, so soll sich ein Getümmel erheben in deinem Volk, daß alle deine Festen verstört werden, gleichwie Salman verstörte das Haus Arbeels zur Zeit des Streits, da die Mutter samt den Kindern zu Trümmern ging.
10:14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Betharbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.
10:15 Ebenso soll's euch zu Beth-El auch gehen um eurer großen Bosheit willen, daß der König Israels frühmorgens untergehe.
10:15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

11:1 Da Israel jung war, hatte ich ihn lieb und rief ihn, meinen Sohn, aus Ägypten.
11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
11:2 Aber wenn man sie jetzt ruft, so wenden sie sich davon und opfern den Baalim und räuchern den Bildern.
11:2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
11:3 Ich nahm Ephraim bei seinen Armen und leitete ihn; aber sie merkten es nicht, wie ich ihnen half.
11:3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
11:4 Ich ließ sie ein menschlich Joch ziehen und in Seilen der Liebe gehen und half ihnen das Joch an ihrem Hals tragen und gab ihnen Futter.
11:4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid food unto them.
11:5 Sie sollen nicht wieder nach Ägyptenland kommen, sondern Assur soll nun ihr König sein; denn sie wollen sich nicht bekehren.
11:5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, and the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
11:6 Darum soll das Schwert über ihre Städte kommen und soll ihre Riegel aufreiben und fressen um ihres Vornehmens willen.
11:6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
11:7 Mein Volk ist müde, sich zu mir zu kehren; und wenn man ihnen predigt, so richtet sich keiner auf. {~} {~}
11:7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
11:8 Was soll ich aus dir machen, Ephraim? Soll ich dich schützen, Israel? Soll ich nicht billig ein Adama aus dir machen und dich wie Zeboim zurichten? Aber mein Herz ist andern Sinnes, meine Barmherzigkeit ist zu brünstig,
11:8 How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you as Admah? how shall I set you as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
11:9 daß ich nicht tun will nach meinem grimmigen Zorn, noch mich kehren, Ephraim gar zu verderben. Denn ich bin Gott und nicht ein Mensch und bin der Heilige unter dir; ich will aber nicht in die Stadt kommen.
11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you: and I will not enter into the city.
11:10 Alsdann wird man dem HERRN nachfolgen, und er wird brüllen wie ein Löwe; und wenn er wird brüllen, so werden erschrocken kommen die Kinder, so gegen Abend sind.
11:10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11:11 Und die in Ägypten werden auch erschrocken kommen wie die Vögel, und die im Lande Assur wie Tauben; und ich will sie in ihre Häuser setzen, spricht der HERR.
11:11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, says the LORD.
11:12 (-) In Ephraim ist allenthalben Lügen wider mich und im Hause Israel falscher Gottesdienst. Aber auch Juda hält nicht fest an Gott und an dem Heiligen, der treu ist.
11:12 Ephraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet rules with God, and is faithful with the saints.

12:1 (-) Ephraim weidet sich am Winde und läuft dem Ostwind nach und macht täglich der Abgötterei und des Schadens mehr; sie machen mit Assur einen Bund und bringen Balsam nach Ägypten.
12:1 Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
12:2 (-) Darum wird der HERR mit Juda rechten und Jakob heimsuchen nach seinem Wesen und ihm vergelten nach seinem Verdienst.
12:2 The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
12:3 (-) Er hat in Mutterleibe seinen Bruder an der Ferse gehalten, und in seiner Kraft hat er mit Gott gekämpft.
12:3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
12:4 (-) Er kämpfte mit dem Engel und siegte, denn er weinte und bat ihn; auch hat er ihn ja zu Beth-El gefunden, und daselbst hat er mit uns geredet.
12:4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;
12:5 (-) Aber der HERR ist der Gott Zebaoth; HERR ist sein Name.
12:5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
12:6 (-) So bekehre dich nun zu deinem Gott, und halte Barmherzigkeit und Recht und hoffe stets auf deinen Gott.
12:6 Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.
12:7 (-) Aber Kanaan hat eine falsche Waage in seiner Hand und betrügt gern.
12:7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.
12:8 (-) Und Ephraim spricht: Ich bin reich, ich habe genug; man wird in aller meiner Arbeit keine Missetat finden, die Sünde sei.
12:8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
12:9 (-) Ich aber, der HERR, bin dein Gott aus Ägyptenland her, und der dich noch in den Hütten wohnen läßt, wie man zur Festzeit pflegt,
12:9 And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
12:10 (-) und rede zu den Propheten; und ich bin's, der so viel Weissagung gibt und durch die Propheten sich anzeigt.
12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
12:11 (-) In Gilead ist Abgötterei, darum werden sie zunichte; und in Gilgal opfern sie Ochsen, darum sollen ihre Altäre werden wie die Steinhaufen an den Furchen im Felde.
12:11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12:12 (-) Jakob mußte fliehen in das Land Syrien, und Israel mußte um ein Weib dienen, und um ein Weib mußte er hüten.
12:12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
12:13 (-) Aber hernach führte der HERR Israel aus Ägypten durch einen Propheten und ließ ihn hüten durch einen Propheten.
12:13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
12:14 (-) Nun aber erzürnt ihn Ephraim durch seine Götzen; darum wird ihr Blut über sie kommen, und ihr HERR wird ihnen vergelten ihre Schmach, die sie ihm antun.
12:14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.

13:1 Da Ephraim Schreckliches redete, ward er in Israel erhoben, darnach versündigten sie sich durch Baal und wurden darüber getötet.
13:1 When Ephraim spoke trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
13:2 Aber nun machen sie der Sünden viel mehr und aus ihrem Silber Bilder, wie sie es erdenken können, nämlich Götzen, welche doch eitel Schmiedewerk sind. Dennoch predigen sie von denselben: Wer die Kälber küssen will, der soll Menschen opfern. {~}
13:2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
13:3 Darum werden sie sein wie die Morgenwolke und wie der Tau, der frühmorgens vergeht; ja, wie die Spreu, die von der Tenne verweht wird, und wie der Rauch von dem Schornstein.
13:3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passes away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
13:4 Ich bin aber der HERR, dein Gott, aus Ägyptenland her; und du solltest ja keinen andern Gott kennen denn mich und keinen Heiland als allein mich.
13:4 Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
13:5 Ich nahm mich ja deiner an in der Wüste, im dürren Lande.
13:5 I did know you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
13:6 Aber weil sie geweidet sind, daß sie satt geworden sind und genug haben, erhebt sich ihr Herz; darum vergessen sie mein.
13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
13:7 So will ich auch werden gegen sie wie ein Löwe, und wie ein Parder auf dem Wege will ich auf sie lauern.
13:7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
13:8 Ich will ihnen begegnen wie ein Bär, dem seine Jungen genommen sind, und will ihr verstocktes Herz zerreißen und will sie daselbst wie ein Löwe fressen; die wilden Tiere sollen sie zerreißen.
13:8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the lobe of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
13:9 Israel, du bringst dich in Unglück; denn dein Heil steht allein bei mir.
13:9 O Israel, you have destroyed yourself; but in me is yours help.
13:10 Wo ist dein König hin, der dir helfen möge in allen deinen Städten? und deine Richter, von denen du sagtest: Gib mir Könige und Fürsten?
13:10 I will be your king: where is any other that may save you in all your cities? and your judges of whom you said, Give me a king and princes?
13:11 Wohlan, ich gab dir einen König in meinem Zorn, und will ihn dir in meinem Grimm wegnehmen.
13:11 I gave you a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
13:12 Die Missetat Ephraims ist zusammengebunden, und seine Sünde ist behalten.
13:12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13:13 Denn es soll ihm wehe werden wie einer Gebärerin. Er ist ein unverständig Kind; denn wenn die Zeit gekommen ist, so will er die Mutter nicht brechen.
13:13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking out of children.
13:14 Aber ich will sie erlösen aus der Hölle und vom Tod erretten. Tod, ich will dir ein Gift sein; Hölle ich will dir eine Pestilenz sein. Doch ist der Trost vor meinen Augen verborgen.
13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will be your destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
13:15 Denn wenn er auch zwischen Brüdern Frucht bringt, so wird doch ein Ostwind des HERRN aus der Wüste herauffahren, daß sein Brunnen vertrocknet und seine Quelle versiegt; und er wird rauben den Schatz alles köstlichen Gerätes.
13:15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
13:16 Samaria wird wüst werden, denn sie sind ihrem Gott ungehorsam; sie sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und ihre jungen Kinder zerschmettert und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerrissen werden.
13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she has rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

14:1 Bekehre dich, Israel, zu dem HERR, deinem Gott; denn du bist gefallen um deiner Missetat willen.
14:1 O israel, return unto the LORD your God; for you have fallen by yours iniquity.
14:2 Nehmt diese Worte mit euch und bekehrt euch zum HERRN und sprecht zu ihm: Vergib uns alle Sünde und tue uns wohl; so wollen wir opfern die Farren unsrer Lippen.
14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
14:3 Assur soll uns nicht helfen; wir wollen nicht mehr auf Rossen reiten, auch nicht mehr sagen zu den Werken unsrer Hände: "Ihr seid unser Gott"; sondern laß die Waisen bei dir Gnade finden.
14:3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, All of you are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy.
14:4 So will ich ihr Abtreten wieder heilen; gerne will ich sie lieben; denn mein Zorn soll sich von ihnen wenden.
14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
14:5 Ich will Israel wie ein Tau sein, daß er soll blühen wie eine Rose, und seine Wurzeln sollen ausschlagen wie der Libanon
14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
14:6 und seine Zweige sich ausbreiten, daß er sei schön wie ein Ölbaum, und soll so guten Geruch geben wie der Libanon.
14:6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
14:7 Und sie sollen wieder unter einem Schatten sitzen; von Korn sollen sie sich nähren und blühen wie der Weinstock; sein Gedächtnis soll sein wie der Wein am Libanon.
14:7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
14:8 Ephraim, was sollen mir weiter die Götzen? Ich will ihn erhören und führen; ich will sein wie eine grünende Tanne; an mir soll man deine Frucht finden.
14:8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.
14:9 Wer ist weise, der dies verstehe, und klug, der dies merke? Denn die Wege des HERRN sind richtig, und die Gerechten wandeln darin; aber die Übertreter fallen darin.
14:9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
