41:1 Aber im siebenten Monat kam Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohnes Elisamas, aus königlichem Stamm, einer von den Obersten des Königs, und zehn Männer mit ihm zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, gen Mizpa und sie aßen daselbst zu Mizpa miteinander.
41:1 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.
41:2 Und Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, macht sich auf samt den zehn Männern, die bei ihm waren und schlugen Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, mit dem Schwert zu Tode, darum daß ihn der König zu Babel über das Land gesetzt hatte;
41:2 Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and stroke Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
41:3 dazu alle Juden, die bei Gedalja waren zu Mizpa, und die Chaldäer, die sie daselbst fanden, alle Kriegsleute, schlug Ismael.
41:3 Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the men of war.
41:4 Des andern Tages, nachdem Gedalja erschlagen war und es noch niemand wußte,
41:4 And it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
41:5 kamen achtzig Männer von Sichem, von Silo und von Samaria und hatten die Bärte abgeschoren und ihre Kleider zerrissen und sich zerritzt und trugen Speisopfer und Weihrauch mit sich, daß sie es brächten zum Hause des HERRN.
41:5 That there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.
41:6 Und Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, ging heraus von Mizpa ihnen entgegen, ging daher und weinte. Als er nun an sie kam, sprach er zu ihnen: Ihr sollt zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, kommen.
41:6 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.
41:7 Da sie aber mitten in die Stadt kamen, ermordete sie Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, und die Männer, so bei ihm waren, und warf sie in den Brunnen.
41:7 And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men that were with him.
41:8 Aber es waren zehn Männer darunter, die sprachen zu Ismael: Töte uns nicht; wir haben Vorrat im Acker liegen von Weizen, Gerste, Öl und Honig. Also ließ er ab und tötete sie nicht mit den andern.
41:8 But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he ceased, and slew them not among their brethren.
41:9 Der Brunnen aber, darein Ismael die Leichname der Männer warf, welche er hatte erschlagen samt dem Gedalja, ist der, den der König Asa machen ließ wider Baesa, den König Israels; den füllte Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, mit den Erschlagenen.
41:9 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slain.
41:10 Und was übriges Volk war zu Mizpa, auch die Königstöchter, führte Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, gefangen weg samt allem übrigen Volk zu Mizpa, über welche Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, hatte gesetzt Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, und zog hin und wollte hinüber zu den Kindern Ammon. {~} {~} {~} {~}
41:10 Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites.
41:11 Da aber Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, erfuhr und alle Hauptleute des Heeres, die bei ihm waren, all das Übel, das Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, begangen hatte,
41:11 But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
41:12 nahmen sie zu sich alle Männer und zogen hin, wider Ismael, den Sohn Nethanjas, zu streiten; und trafen ihn an dem großen Wasser bei Gibeon.
41:12 Then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
41:13 Da nun alles Volk, so bei Ismael war, sah den Johanan, den Sohn Kareahs, und alle die Hauptleute des Heeres, die bei ihm waren, wurden sie froh.
41:13 Now it came to pass, that when all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad.
41:14 Und das ganze Volk, das Ismael hatte von Mizpa weggeführt, wandte sich um und kehrte wiederum zu Johanan, dem Sohne Kareahs.
41:14 So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah cast about and returned, and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah.
41:15 Aber Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, entrann dem Johanan mit acht Männern, und zog zu den Kindern Ammon. {~}
41:15 But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites.
41:16 Und Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, samt allen Hauptleuten des Heeres, so bei ihm waren, nahmen all das übrige Volk, so sie wiedergebracht hatten von Ismael, dem Sohn Nethanjas, aus Mizpa zu sich (weil Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, erschlagen war), nämlich die Kriegsmänner, Weiber und die Kinder und Kämmerer, so sie von Gibeon hatten wiedergebracht;
41:16 Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:
41:17 und zogen hin und kehrten ein zur Herberge Chimhams, die bei Bethlehem war, und wollten nach Ägypten ziehen vor den Chaldäern.
41:17 And they departed, and dwelt in the habitation of Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
41:18 Denn sie fürchteten sich vor ihnen, weil Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, erschlagen hatte, den der König zu Babel über das Land gesetzt hatte. {~} {~}
41:18 Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land.

42:1 Da traten herzu alle Hauptleute des Heeres, Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, Jesanja, der Sohn Hosajas, samt dem ganzen Volk, klein und groß,
42:1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,
42:2 und sprachen zum Propheten Jeremia: Laß doch unser Gebet vor dir gelten und bitte für uns den HERRN, deinen Gott, für alle diese Übrigen (denn unser ist leider wenig geblieben von vielen, wie du uns selbst siehst mit deinen Augen),
42:2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we plead to you, our supplication be accepted before you, and pray for us unto the LORD your God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as yours eyes do behold us:)
42:3 daß uns der HERR, dein Gott, wolle anzeigen, wohin wir ziehen und was wir tun sollen.
42:3 That the LORD your God may show us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.
42:4 Und der Prophet Jeremia sprach zu ihnen: Wohlan, ich will gehorchen; und siehe, ich will den HERRN, euren Gott, bitten, wie ihr gesagt habt; und alles, was euch der HERR antworten wird, das will ich euch anzeigen und will euch nichts verhalten.
42:4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.
42:5 Und sie sprachen zu Jeremia: Der HERR sei ein gewisser und wahrhaftiger Zeuge zwischen uns, wo wir nicht tun werden alles, was dir der HERR, dein Gott, an uns befehlen wird.
42:5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD your God shall send you to us.
42:6 Es sei Gutes oder Böses, so wollen wir gehorchen der Stimme des HERRN, unsers Gottes, zu dem wir dich senden; auf daß es uns wohl gehe, so wir der Stimme des HERRN, unsers Gottes, gehorchen.
42:6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
42:7 Und nach zehn Tagen geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia.
42:7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.
42:8 Da rief er Johanan, den Sohn Kareahs, und alle Hauptleute des Heeres, die bei ihm waren, und alles Volk, klein und groß,
42:8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
42:9 und sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu dem ihr mich gesandt habt, daß ich euer Gebet vor ihn sollte bringen:
42:9 And said unto them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom all of you sent me to present your supplication before him;
42:10 Werdet ihr in diesem Lande bleiben, so will ich euch bauen und nicht zerbrechen; ich will euch pflanzen und nicht ausreuten; denn es hat mich schon gereut das Übel, das ich euch getan habe.
42:10 If all of you will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
42:11 Ihr sollt euch nicht fürchten vor dem König zu Babel, vor dem ihr euch fürchtet, spricht der HERR; ihr sollt euch vor ihm nicht fürchten, denn ich will bei euch sein, daß ich euch helfe und von seiner Hand errette.
42:11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom all of you are afraid; be not afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.
42:12 Ich will euch Barmherzigkeit erzeigen und mich über euch erbarmen und euch wieder in euer Land bringen.
42:12 And I will show mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.
42:13 Werdet ihr aber sagen: Wir wollen nicht in diesem Lande bleiben, damit ihr ja nicht gehorcht der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes,
42:13 But if all of you say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,
42:14 sondern sagen: Nein, wir wollen nach Ägyptenland ziehen, daß wir keinen Krieg sehen noch der Posaune Schall hören und nicht Hunger Brots halben leiden müssen; daselbst wollen wir bleiben:
42:14 Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:
42:15 nun so hört des HERRN Wort, ihr übrigen aus Juda! So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Werdet ihr euer Angesicht richten, nach Ägyptenland zu ziehen, daß ihr daselbst bleiben wollt,
42:15 And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you remnant of Judah; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; If all of you wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;
42:16 so soll euch das Schwert, vor dem ihr euch fürchtet, in Ägyptenland treffen, und der Hunger, des ihr euch besorgt, soll stets hinter euch her sein in Ägypten, und sollt daselbst sterben.
42:16 Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which all of you feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof all of you were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there all of you shall die.
42:17 Denn sie seien, wer sie wollen, die ihr Angesicht richten, daß sie nach Ägypten ziehen, daselbst zu bleiben, die sollen sterben durchs Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz, und soll keiner übrigbleiben noch entrinnen dem Übel, das ich über sie will kommen lassen.
42:17 So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.
42:18 Denn so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Gleichwie mein Zorn und Grimm über die Einwohner zu Jerusalem ausgeschüttet ist, so soll er auch über euch ausgeschüttet werden, wo ihr nach Ägypten zieht, daß ihr zum Fluch, zum Wunder, Schwur und Schande werdet und diese Stätte nicht mehr sehen sollt.
42:18 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury has been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when all of you shall enter into Egypt: and all of you shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and all of you shall see this place no more.
42:19 Das Wort des HERRN gilt euch, ihr übrigen aus Juda, daß ihr nicht nach Ägypten zieht. Darum so wisset, daß ich euch heute bezeuge;
42:19 The LORD has said concerning you, O all of you remnant of Judah; Go all of you not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.
42:20 ihr werdet sonst euer Leben verwahrlosen. Denn ihr habt mich gesandt zum HERRN, eurem Gott, und gesagt: Bitte den HERRN, unsern Gott, für uns; und alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, sagen wird, das zeige uns an, so wollen wir darnach tun.
42:20 For all of you dissembled in your hearts, when all of you sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.
42:21 Das habe ich euch heute zu wissen getan; aber ihr wollt der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, nicht gehorchen noch alle dem, das er mir befohlen hat.
42:21 And now I have this day declared it to you; but all of you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he has sent me unto you.
42:22 So sollt ihr nun wissen, daß ihr durch Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz sterben müßt an dem Ort, dahin ihr gedenkt zu ziehen, daß ihr daselbst wohnen wollt.
42:22 Now therefore know certainly that all of you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where all of you desire to go and to sojourn.

43:1 Da Jeremia alle Worte des HERRN, ihres Gottes, hatte ausgeredet zu allem Volk, wie ihm denn der HERR, ihr Gott, alle diese Worte an sie befohlen hatte,
43:1 And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
43:2 sprachen Asarja, der Sohn Hosajas, und Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs und alle frechen Männer zu Jeremia: Du lügst; der HERR, unser Gott, hat dich nicht zu uns gesandt noch gesagt: Ihr sollt nicht nach Ägypten ziehen, daselbst zu wohnen;
43:2 Then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, You speak falsely: the LORD our God has not sent you to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
43:3 sondern Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, beredet dich, uns zuwider, auf daß wir den Chaldäern übergeben werden, daß sie uns töten und gen Babel wegführen.
43:3 But Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, in order to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.
43:4 Also gehorchten Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und alle Hauptleute des Heeres samt dem ganzen Volk der Stimme des HERRN nicht, daß sie im Lande Juda wären geblieben;
43:4 So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
43:5 sondern Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und alle Hauptleute des Heeres nahmen zu sich alle Übrigen aus Juda, so von allen Völkern, dahin sie geflohen, wiedergekommen waren, daß sie im Lande Juda wohnten,
43:5 But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations, where they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;
43:6 nämlich Männer, Weiber und Kinder, dazu die Königstöchter und alle Seelen, die Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, bei Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, hatte gelassen, auch den Propheten Jeremia und Baruch, den Sohn Nerias,
43:6 Even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
43:7 und zogen nach Ägyptenland, denn sie wollten der Stimme des HERRN nicht gehorchen, und kamen nach Thachpanhes.
43:7 So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they even to Tahpanhes.
43:8 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia zu Thachpanhes und sprach:
43:8 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
43:9 Nimm große Steine und verscharre sie im Ziegelofen, der vor der Tür am Hause Pharaos ist zu Thachpanhes, daß die Männer aus Juda zusehen; {~}
43:9 Take great stones in yours hand, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;
43:10 und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will hinsenden und meinen Knecht Nebukadnezar, den König zu Babel, holen lassen und will seinen Stuhl oben auf diese Steine setzen, die ich verscharrt habe; und er soll sein Gezelt darüberschlagen.
43:10 And say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
43:11 Und er soll kommen und Ägyptenland schlagen, und töten, wen es trifft, gefangen führen, wen es trifft, mit dem Schwert schlagen, wen es trifft.
43:11 And when he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.
43:12 Und ich will die Häuser der Götter in Ägypten mit Feuer anstecken, daß er sie verbrenne und wegführe. Und er soll sich Ägyptenland anziehen, wie ein Hirt sein Kleid anzieht, und mit Frieden von dannen ziehen.
43:12 And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
43:13 Er soll die Bildsäulen zu Beth-Semes in Ägyptenland zerbrechen und die Götzentempel in Ägypten mit Feuer verbrennen.
43:13 He shall break also the images of Bethshemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.

44:1 Dies ist das Wort, das zu Jeremia geschah an alle Juden, so in Ägyptenland wohnten, nämlich so zu Migdol, zu Thachpanhes, zu Noph und im Lande Pathros wohnten, und sprach:
44:1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
44:2 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Ihr habt gesehen all das Übel, das ich habe kommen lassen über Jerusalem und über alle Städte in Juda; und siehe, heutigestages sind sie wüst, und wohnt niemand darin;
44:2 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; All of you have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein,
44:3 und das um ihrer Bosheit willen, die sie taten, daß sie mich erzürnten und hingingen und räucherten und dienten andern Göttern, welche weder sie noch ihr noch eure Väter kannten.
44:3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, all of you, nor your fathers.
44:4 Und ich sandte stets zu euch alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, und ließ euch sagen: Tut doch nicht solche Greuel, die ich hasse.
44:4 Nevertheless I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
44:5 Aber sie gehorchten nicht, neigten auch ihre Ohren nicht, daß sie von ihrer Bosheit sich bekehrt und andern Göttern nicht geräuchert hätten.
44:5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
44:6 Darum ging auch mein Zorn und Grimm an und entbrannte über die Städte Juda's und über die Gassen zu Jerusalem, daß sie zur Wüste und Öde geworden sind, wie es heutigestages steht.
44:6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.
44:7 Nun, so spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Warum tut ihr doch so großes Übel wider euer eigen Leben, damit unter euch ausgerottet werden Mann und Weib, Kind und Säugling aus Juda und nichts von euch übrigbleibe,
44:7 Therefore now thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit all of you this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and nursing infant, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
44:8 und erzürnt mich so durch eurer Hände Werke und räuchert andern Göttern in Ägyptenland, dahin ihr gezogen seid, daselbst zu herbergen, auf daß ihr ausgerottet und zum Fluch und zur Schmach werdet unter allen Heiden auf Erden?
44:8 In that all of you provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, where all of you be gone to dwell, that all of you might cut yourselves off, and that all of you might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
44:9 Habt ihr vergessen das Unglück eurer Väter, das Unglück der Könige Juda's, das Unglück ihrer Weiber, dazu euer eigenes Unglück und eurer Weiber Unglück, das euch begegnet ist im Lande Juda und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem?
44:9 Have all of you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
44:10 Noch sind sie bis auf diesen Tag nicht gedemütigt, fürchten sich auch nicht und wandeln nicht in meinem Gesetz und den Rechten, die ich euch und euren Vätern vorgestellt habe.
44:10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
44:11 Darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe, ich will mein Angesicht wider euch richten zum Unglück, und ganz Juda soll ausgerottet werden.
44:11 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
44:12 Und ich will die übrigen aus Juda nehmen, so ihr Angesicht gerichtet haben, nach Ägyptenland zu ziehen, daß sie daselbst herbergen; es soll ein Ende mit ihnen allen werden in Ägyptenland. Durchs Schwert sollen sie fallen, und durch Hunger umkommen, beide, klein und groß; sie sollen durch Schwert und Hunger sterben und sollen ein Schwur, Wunder, Fluch und Schmach werden.
44:12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
44:13 Ich will auch die Einwohner in Ägyptenland mit Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz heimsuchen, gleichwie ich zu Jerusalem getan habe,
44:13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
44:14 daß aus den übrigen Juda's keiner soll entrinnen noch übrigbleiben, die doch darum hierher gekommen sind nach Ägyptenland zur Herberge, daß sie wiederum ins Land Juda möchten, dahin sie gerne wiederkommen wollten und wohnen; aber es soll keiner wieder dahin kommen, außer, welche von hinnen fliehen.
44:14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
44:15 Da antworteten dem Jeremia alle Männer, die da wohl wußten, daß ihre Weiber andern Göttern räucherten, und alle Weiber, so in großem Haufen dastanden, samt allem Volk, die in Ägyptenland wohnten und in Pathros, und sprachen:
44:15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
44:16 Nach dem Wort, das du im Namen des HERRN uns sagst, wollen wir dir nicht gehorchen;
44:16 As for the word that you have spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto you.
44:17 sondern wir wollen tun nach allem dem Wort, das aus unserem Munde geht, und wollen der Himmelskönigin räuchern und ihr Trankopfer opfern, wie wir und unsre Väter, unsre Könige und Fürsten getan haben in den Städten Juda's und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem. Da hatten wir auch Brot genug und ging uns wohl und sahen kein Unglück.
44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
44:18 Seit der Zeit aber, daß wir haben abgelassen, der Himmelskönigin zu räuchern und Trankopfer zu opfern, haben wir allen Mangel gelitten und sind durch Schwert und Hunger umgekommen.
44:18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
44:19 Auch wenn wir der Himmelskönigin räuchern und opfern, das tun wir ja nicht ohne unserer Männer Willen, daß wir ihr Kuchen backen und Trankopfer opfern, auf daß sie sich um uns bekümmere. {~}
44:19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
44:20 Da sprach Jeremia zum ganzen Volk, Männern und Weibern und allem Volk, die ihm so geantwortet hatten: {~}
44:20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,
44:21 Ich meine ja, der HERR habe gedacht an das Räuchern, so ihr in den Städten Juda's und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem getrieben habt samt euren Vätern, Königen, Fürsten und allem Volk im Lande, und hat's zu Herzen genommen,
44:21 The incense that all of you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, all of you, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?
44:22 daß er nicht mehr leiden konnte euren bösen Wandel und die Greuel, die ihr tatet; daher auch euer Land zur Wüste, zum Wunder und zum Fluch geworden ist, daß niemand darin wohnt, wie es heutigestages steht.
44:22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which all of you have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
44:23 Darum, daß ihr geräuchert habt und wider den HERRN gesündigt und der Stimme des HERRN nicht gehorchtet und in seinem Gesetz, seinen Rechten und Zeugnissen nicht gewandelt habt, darum ist auch euch solches Unglück widerfahren, wie es heutigestages steht.
44:23 Because all of you have burned incense, and because all of you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.
44:24 Und Jeremia sprach zu allem Volk und zu allen Weibern: Höret des HERRN Wort, alle ihr aus Juda, so in Ägyptenland sind.
44:24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:
44:25 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Ihr und eure Weiber habt mit einem Munde geredet und mit euren Händen vollbracht, was ihr sagt: Wir wollen unser Gelübde halten, die wir gelobt haben der Himmelskönigin, daß wir ihr räuchern und Trankopfer opfern. 44:25 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; All of you and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: all of you will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
44:26 So hört nun des HERRN Wort, ihr alle aus Juda, die ihr in Ägyptenland wohnt: Siehe, ich schwöre bei meinem großen Namen, spricht der HERR, daß mein Name nicht mehr soll durch irgend eines Menschen Mund aus Juda genannt werden in ganz Ägyptenland, der da sagt: "So wahr der HERR HERR lebt!"
44:26 Therefore hear all of you the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD lives.
44:27 Siehe, ich will über sie wachen zum Unglück und zu keinem Guten, daß, wer aus Juda in Ägyptenland ist, soll durch Schwert und Hunger umkommen, bis es ein Ende mit ihnen habe.
44:27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
44:28 Welche aber dem Schwert entrinnen, die werden aus Ägyptenland ins Land Juda wiederkommen müssen als ein geringer Haufe. Und also werden dann alle die übrigen aus Juda, so nach Ägyptenland gezogen waren, daß sie sich daselbst herbergten, erfahren, wessen Wort wahr sei, meines oder ihres.
44:28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or their's.
44:29 Und zum Zeichen, spricht der HERR, daß ich euch an diesem Ort heimsuchen will, damit ihr wißt, daß mein Wort soll wahr werden über euch zum Unglück,
44:29 And this shall be a sign unto you, says the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that all of you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
44:30 so spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will Pharao Hophra, den König in Ägypten, übergeben in die Hände seiner Feinde und derer, die ihm nach dem Leben stehen, gleichwie ich Zedekia, den König Juda's, übergeben habe in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel, seines Feindes, und der ihm nach seinem Leben stand.
44:30 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

45:1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
45:2 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, von dir Baruch:
45:2 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto you, O Baruch:
45:3 Du sprichst: Weh mir, wie hat mir der HERR Jammer zu meinem Schmerz hinzugefügt! Ich seufze mich müde und finde keine Ruhe.
45:3 You did say, Woe is me now! for the LORD has added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
45:4 Sage ihm also: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, was ich gebaut habe, das breche ich ab; und was ich gepflanzt habe, das reute ich aus nämlich dies mein ganzes Land.
45:4 Thus shall you say unto him, The LORD says thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
45:5 Und du begehrst dir große Dinge? Begehre es nicht! Denn siehe, ich will Unglück kommen lassen über alles Fleisch, spricht der HERR; aber deine Seele will ich dir zur Beute geben, an welchen Ort du ziehst.
45:5 And seek you great things for yourself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the LORD: but your life will I give unto you for a prey in all places where you go.

46:1 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, das zu dem Propheten Jeremia geschehen ist wider alle Heiden.
46:1 The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
46:2 Wider Ägypten. Wider das Heer Pharao Nechos, des Königs in Ägypten, welches lag am Wasser Euphrat zu Karchemis, das der König zu Babel, Nebukadnezar, schlug im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda:
46:2 Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon stroke in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
46:3 Rüstet Schild und Tartsche und ziehet in den Streit!
46:3 Order all of you the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
46:4 Spannet Rosse an und lasset Reiter aufsitzen, setzt Helme auf und schärft die Spieße und ziehet den Panzer an!
46:4 Harness the horses; and get up, all of you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; polish the spears, and put on the protective armor.
46:5 Wie kommt's aber, daß ich sehe, daß sie verzagt sind und die Flucht geben und ihre Helden erschlagen sind? Sie fliehen, daß sie sich auch nicht umsehen. Schrecken ist um und um, spricht der HERR.
46:5 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled swiftly, and look not back: for fear was round about, says the LORD.
46:6 Der Schnelle kann nicht entfliehen noch der Starke entrinnen. Gegen Mitternacht am Wasser Euphrat sind sie gefallen und darniedergelegt.
46:6 Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
46:7 Wer ist der, so heraufzieht wie der Nil, und seine Wellen erheben sich wie Wasserwellen?
46:7 Who is this that comes up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
46:8 gypten zieht herauf wie der Nil, und seine Wellen erheben sich wie Wasserwellen, und es spricht: Ich will hinaufziehen, das Land bedecken und die Stadt verderben samt denen, die darin wohnen.
46:8 Egypt rises up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he says, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
46:9 Wohlan, sitzt auf die Rosse, rennt mit den Wagen, laßt die Helden ausziehen, die Mohren, und aus Put, die den Schild führen, und die Schützen aus Lud! {~} {~} {~}
46:9 Come up, all of you horses; and rage, all of you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
46:10 Denn dies ist der Tag des HERRN HERRN Zebaoth, ein Tag der Rache, daß er sich an seinen Feinden räche, da das Schwert fressen und von ihrem Blut voll und trunken werden wird. Denn sie müssen dem HERRN HERRN Zebaoth ein Schlachtopfer werden im Lande gegen Mitternacht am Wasser Euphrat.
46:10 For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
46:11 Gehe hinauf gen Gilead und hole Salbe, Jungfrau, Tochter Ägyptens! Aber es ist umsonst, daß du viel arzneiest; du wirst doch nicht heil!
46:11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shall you use many medicines; for you shall not be cured.
46:12 Deine Schande ist unter die Heiden erschollen, deines Heulens ist das Land voll; denn ein Held fällt über den andern und liegen beide miteinander darnieder.
46:12 The nations have heard of your shame, and your cry has filled the land: for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
46:13 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, das er zu dem Propheten Jeremia redete, da Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, daherzog, Ägyptenland zu schlagen;
46:13 The word that the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt.
46:14 Verkündiget in Ägypten und saget's an zu Migdol, saget's an zu Noph und Thachpanhes und sprecht: Stelle dich zur Wehr! denn das Schwert wird fressen, was um dich her ist.
46:14 Declare all of you in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say all of you, Stand fast, and prepare you; for the sword shall devour round about you.
46:15 Wie geht's zu, daß deine Gewaltigen zu Boden fallen und können nicht bestehen? Der HERR hat sie so gestürzt.
46:15 Why are your valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
46:16 Er macht, daß ihrer viel fallen, daß einer mit dem andern darniederliegt. Da sprachen sie: Wohlauf, laßt uns wieder zu unserm Volk ziehen, in unser Vaterland vor dem Schwert des Tyrannen!
46:16 He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
46:17 Daselbst schrie man ihnen nach: Pharao, der König Ägyptens, liegt: er hat sein Gezelt gelassen!
46:17 They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has passed the time appointed.
46:18 So wahr als ich lebe, spricht der König, der HERR Zebaoth heißt: Jener wird daherziehen so hoch, wie der Berg Thabor unter den Bergen ist und wie der Karmel am Meer ist.
46:18 As I live, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he comes.
46:19 Nimm dein Wandergerät, du Einwohnerin, Tochter Ägyptens; denn Noph wird wüst und verbrannt werden, daß niemand darin wohnen wird.
46:19 O you daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
46:20 gypten ist ein sehr schönes Kalb; aber es kommt von Mitternacht der Schlächter.
46:20 Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction comes; it comes out of the north.
46:21 Auch die, so darin um Sold dienen, sind wie gemästete Kälber; aber sie müssen sich dennoch wenden, flüchtig werden miteinander und werden nicht bestehen; denn der Tag ihres Unfalls wird über sie kommen, die Zeit ihrer Heimsuchung.
46:21 Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.
46:22 Man hört sie davonschleichen wie eine Schlange; denn jene kommen mit Heereskraft und bringen Äxte über sie wie die Holzhauer.
46:22 The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
46:23 Die werden hauen also in ihrem Wald, spricht der HERR, daß es nicht zu zählen ist; denn ihrer sind mehr als Heuschrecken, die niemand zählen kann.
46:23 They shall cut down her forest, says the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
46:24 Die Tochter Ägyptens steht mit Schanden; denn sie ist dem Volk von Mitternacht in die Hände gegeben.
46:24 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
46:25 Der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, spricht: Siehe, ich will heimsuchen den Amon zu No und den Pharao und Ägypten samt seinen Göttern und Königen, ja, Pharao mit allen, die sich auf ihn verlassen,
46:25 The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, says; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:
46:26 daß ich sie gebe in die Hände denen, die ihnen nach ihrem Leben stehen, und in die Hände Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel, und seiner Knechte. Und darnach sollst du bewohnt werden wie vor alters, spricht der HERR.
46:26 And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says the LORD.
46:27 Aber du, mein Knecht Jakob, fürchte dich nicht, und du, Israel, verzage nicht! Denn siehe, ich will dir aus fernen Landen und deinem Samen aus dem Lande seines Gefängnisses helfen, daß Jakob soll wiederkommen und in Frieden sein und die Fülle haben, und niemand soll ihn schrecken.
46:27 But fear not you, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save you from far off, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
46:28 Darum fürchte dich nicht, du, Jakob, mein Knecht, spricht der HERR; denn ich bin bei dir. Mit allen Heiden, dahin ich dich verstoßen habe, will ich ein Ende machen; aber mit dir will ich nicht ein Ende machen, sondern ich will dich züchtigen mit Maßen, auf daß ich dich nicht ungestraft lasse.
46:28 Fear you not, O Jacob my servant, says the LORD: for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you: but I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet will I not leave you wholly unpunished.

47:1 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, das zum Propheten Jeremia geschah wider die Philister, ehe denn Pharao Gaza schlug.
47:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh stroke Gaza.
47:2 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, es kommen Wasser herauf von Mitternacht, die eine Flut machen werden und das Land und was darin ist, die Städte und die, so darin wohnen, wegreißen werden, daß die leute werden schreien und alle Einwohner im Lande heulen
47:2 Thus says the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
47:3 vor dem Getümmel ihrer starken Rosse, so dahertraben, und vor dem Rasseln ihrer Wagen und Poltern ihrer Räder; daß sich die Väter nicht werden umsehen nach den Kindern, so verzagt werden sie sein{~}
47:3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
47:4 vor dem Tage, so da kommt, zu verstören alle Philister und auszureuten Tyrus und Sidon samt ihren andern Gehilfen. Denn der HERR wird die Philister, die das übrige sind aus der Insel Kaphthor, verstören.
47:4 Because of the day that comes to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remains: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
47:5 Gaza wird kahl werden, und Askalon samt den übrigen in ihren Gründen wird verderbt. Wie lange ritzest du dich?
47:5 Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long will you cut yourself?
47:6 O du Schwert des HERRN, wann willst du doch aufhören? Fahre doch in deine Scheide und ruhe und sei still!
47:6 O you sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you be quiet? put up yourself into your scabbard, rest, and be still.
47:7 Aber wie kannst du aufhören, weil der HERR dir Befehl getan hat wider die Anfurt am Meer bestellt?
47:7 How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD has given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there has he appointed it.

48:1 Wider Moab. So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Weh der Stadt Nebo! denn sie ist zerstört und liegt elend; Kirjathaim ist gewonnen; die hohe Feste steht elend und ist zerrissen.
48:1 Against Moab thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
48:2 Der Trotz Moabs ist aus, den sie an Hesbon hatten; denn man gedenkt Böses wider sie: "Kommt, wir wollen sie ausrotten, daß sie kein Volk mehr seien." Und du, Madmen, mußt auch verderbt werden; das Schwert wird hinter dich kommen.
48:2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also you shall be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue you.
48:3 Man hört ein Geschrei zu Horonaim von Verstören und großem Jammer. {~}
48:3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.
48:4 Moab ist zerschlagen! man hört ihre Kleinen schreien;
48:4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
48:5 denn sie gehen mit Weinen den Weg hinauf gen Luhith, und die Feinde hören ein Jammergeschrei den Weg von Horonaim herab:
48:5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.
48:6 "Hebt euch weg und errettet euer Leben!" Aber du wirst sein wie die Heide in der Wüste.
48:6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.
48:7 Darum daß du dich auf deine Gebäude verläßt und auf deine Schätze, sollst du auch gewonnen werden; und Kamos muß hinaus gefangen wegziehen samt seinen Priestern und Fürsten.
48:7 For because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you shall also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
48:8 Denn der Verstörer wird über alle Städte kommen, daß nicht eine Stadt entrinnen wird. Es sollen beide, die Gründe verderbt und die Ebenen verstört werden; denn der HERR hat's gesagt.
48:8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD has spoken.
48:9 Gebt Moab Federn: er wird ausgehen, als flöge er; und seine Städte werden wüst liegen, daß niemand darin wohnen wird.
48:9 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.
48:10 Verflucht sei, der des HERRN Werk lässig tut; verflucht sei, der sein Schwert aufhält, daß es nicht Blut vergieße!
48:10 Cursed be he that does the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keeps back his sword from blood.
48:11 Moab ist von seiner Jugend auf sicher gewesen und auf seinen Hefen stillgelegen und ist nie aus einem Faß ins andere gegossen und nie ins Gefängnis gezogen; darum ist sein Geschmack ihm geblieben und sein Geruch nicht verändert worden.
48:11 Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his sediments of wine, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
48:12 Darum siehe, spricht der HERR, es kommt die Zeit, daß ich ihnen will Schröter schicken, die sie ausschroten sollen und ihre Fässer ausleeren und ihre Krüge zerschmettern.
48:12 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
48:13 Und Moab soll über dem Kamos zu Schanden werden, gleichwie das Haus Israel über Beth-El zu Schanden geworden ist, darauf sie sich doch verließen.
48:13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
48:14 Wie dürft ihr sagen: Wir sind die Helden und die rechten Kriegsleute?
48:14 How say all of you, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
48:15 so doch Moab muß verstört und ihre Städte erstiegen werden und ihre beste Mannschaft zur Schlachtbank herabgehen muß, spricht der König, welcher heißt der HERR Zebaoth.
48:15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
48:16 Denn der Unfall Moabs wird bald kommen, und ihr Unglück eilt sehr.
48:16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hastes fast.
48:17 Habt doch Mitleid mit ihnen alle, die ihr um sie her wohnt und ihren Namen kennt, und sprecht: "Wie ist die starke Rute und der herrliche Stab so zerbrochen!"
48:17 All you that are about him, lament for him; and all you that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
48:18 Herab von der Herrlichkeit, du Einwohnerin, Tochter Dibon, und sitze in der Dürre! Denn der Verstörer Moabs wird zu dir hinaufkommen und deine Festen zerreißen.
48:18 You daughter that do inhabit Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon you, and he shall destroy your strong holds.
48:19 Tritt auf die Straße und schaue, du Einwohnerin Aroers; frage die, so da fliehen und entrinnen, und sprich: "Wie geht's?"
48:19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and monitor; ask him that flees, and her that escapes, and say, What is done?
48:20 Ach, Moab ist verwüstet und verderbt! Heult und schreit; sagt's am Arnon, daß Moab verstört sei!
48:20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell all of you it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,
48:21 Die Strafe ist über das ebene Land gegangen, nämlich über Holon, Jahza, Mephaath,
48:21 And judgment has come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,
48:22 Dibon, Nebo, Beth-Diblathaim,
48:22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,
48:23 Kirjathaim, Beth-Gamul, Beth-Meon,
48:23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,
48:24 Karioth, Bozra und über alle Städte im Lande Moab, sie liegen fern oder nahe.
48:24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
48:25 Das Horn Moabs ist abgehauen, und sein Arm ist zerbrochen, spricht der HERR.
48:25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, says the LORD.
48:26 Macht es trunken (denn es hat sich wider den HERRN erhoben), daß es speien und die Hände ringen müsse, auf daß es auch zum Gespött werde.
48:26 Make all of you him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
48:27 Denn Israel hat dein Gespött sein müssen, als wäre es unter den Dieben gefunden; und weil du solches wider dasselbe redest, sollst du auch weg müssen.
48:27 For was not Israel a derision unto you? was he found among thieves? for since you spoke of him, you skipped for joy.
48:28 O ihr Einwohner in Moab, verlaßt die Städte und wohnt in den Felsen und tut wie die Tauben, so da nisten in den hohlen Löchern!
48:28 O all of you that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that makes her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.
48:29 Man hat immer gesagt von dem stolzen Moab, daß es sehr stolz sei, hoffärtig, hochmütig, trotzig und übermütig. {~}
48:29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
48:30 Aber der HERR spricht: Ich kenne seinen Zorn wohl, daß er nicht soviel vermag und untersteht sich, mehr zu tun, denn sein Vermögen ist.
48:30 I know his wrath, says the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
48:31 Darum muß ich über Moab heulen und über das ganze Moab schreien und über die Leute zu Kir-Heres klagen.
48:31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.
48:32 Mehr als über Jaser muß ich über dich, du Weinstock zu Sibma, weinen, dessen Reben über das Meer reichten und bis an das Meer Jaser kamen. Der Verstörer ist in deine Ernte und Weinlese gefallen;
48:32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for you with the weeping of Jazer: your plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon your summer fruits and upon your vintage.
48:33 Freude und Wonne ist aus dem Felde weg und aus dem Lande Moab, und man wird keinen Wein mehr keltern; der Weintreter wird nicht mehr sein Lied singen{~} {~} {~}
48:33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.
48:34 von des Geschreies wegen zu Hesbon bis gen Eleale, welches bis gen Jahza erschallt, von Zoar an bis gen Horonaim, bis zum dritten Eglath; denn auch die Wasser Nimrims sollen versiegen.
48:34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
48:35 Und ich will, spricht der HERR, in Moab damit ein Ende machen, daß sie nicht mehr auf den Höhen opfern und ihren Göttern räuchern sollen.
48:35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, says the LORD, him that offers in the high places, and him that burns incense to his gods.
48:36 Darum seufzt mein Herz über Moab wie Flöten, und über die Leute zu Kir-Heres seufzt mein Herz wie Flöten; denn das Gut, das sie gesammelt, ist zu Grunde gegangen.
48:36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he has got are perished.
48:37 Alle Köpfe werden kahl sein und alle Bärte abgeschoren, aller Hände zerritzt, und jedermann wird Säcke anziehen.
48:37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
48:38 Auf allen Dächern und Gassen, allenthalben in Moab, wird man Klagen; denn ich habe Moab zerbrochen wie ein unwertes Gefäß, spricht der HERR.
48:38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, says the LORD.
48:39 O wie ist es verderbt, wie heulen sie! Wie schändlich hängen sie die Köpfe! Und Moab ist zum Spott und zum Schrecken geworden allen, so ringsumher wohnen.
48:39 They shall wail, saying, How is it broken down! how has Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
48:40 Denn so spricht der HERR: Siehe, er fliegt daher wie ein Adler und breitet seine Flügel aus über Moab.
48:40 For thus says the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
48:41 Karioth ist gewonnen, und die festen Städte sind eingenommen; und das Herz der Helden in Moab wird zu derselben Zeit sein wie einer Frau Herz in Kindesnöten.
48:41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
48:42 Denn Moab muß vertilgt werden, daß sie kein Volk mehr seien, darum daß es sich wider den HERR erhoben hat.
48:42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against the LORD.
48:43 Schrecken, Grube und Strick kommt über dich, du Einwohner in Moab, spricht der HERR.
48:43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon you, O inhabitant of Moab, says the LORD.
48:44 Wer dem Schrecken entflieht, der wird in die Grube fallen, und wer aus der Grube kommt, der wird im Strick gefangen werden; denn ich will über Moab kommen lassen ein Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung, spricht der HERR.
48:44 He that flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, says the LORD.
48:45 Die aus der Schlacht entrinnen, werden Zuflucht suchen zu Hesbon; aber es wird ein Feuer aus Hesbon und eine Flamme aus Sihon gehen, welche die Örter in Moab und die kriegerischen Leute verzehren wird. {~}
48:45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
48:46 Weh dir, Moab! verloren ist das Volk des Kamos; denn man hat deine Söhne und Töchter genommen und gefangen weggeführt.
48:46 Woe be unto you, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perishes: for your sons are taken captives, and your daughters captives.
48:47 Aber in der letzten Zeit will ich das Gefängnis Moabs wenden, spricht der HERR. Das sei gesagt von der Strafe über Moab.
48:47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, says the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

49:1 Wider die Kinder Ammon spricht der HERR also: Hat denn Israel nicht Kinder, oder hat es keinen Erben? Warum besitzt denn Milkom das Land Gad, und sein Volk wohnt in jener Städten?
49:1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus says the LORD; Has Israel no sons? has he no heir? why then does their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
49:2 Darum siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich will ein Kriegsgeschrei erschallen lassen über Rabba der Kinder Ammon, daß sie soll auf einem Haufen wüst liegen und ihre Töchter mit Feuer angesteckt werden; aber Israel soll besitzen die, von denen sie besessen waren, spricht der HERR.
49:2 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, says the LORD.
49:3 Heule, o Hesbon! denn Ai ist verstört. Schreiet, ihr Töchter Rabbas, und ziehet Säcke an, klaget und lauft auf den Mauern herum! denn Milkom wird gefangen weggeführt samt seinen Priestern und Fürsten.
49:3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, all of you daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run back and forth by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
49:4 Was trotzest du auf deine Auen? Deine Auen sind ersäuft, du ungehorsame Tochter, die du dich auf deine Schätze verlässest und sprichst in deinem Herzen: Wer darf sich an mich machen?
49:4 Wherefore glory you in the valleys, your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
49:5 Siehe, spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth: Ich will Furcht über dich kommen lassen von allen, die um dich her wohnen, daß ein jeglicher seines Weges vor sich hinaus verstoßen werde und niemand sei, der die Flüchtigen sammle.
49:5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon you, says the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about you; and all of you shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wanders.
49:6 Aber darnach will ich wieder wenden das Gefängnis der Kinder Ammon, spricht der HERR.
49:6 And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, says the LORD.
49:7 Wider Edom. So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Ist denn keine Weisheit mehr zu Theman? ist denn kein Rat mehr bei den Klugen? ist ihre Weisheit so leer geworden?
49:7 Concerning Edom, thus says the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
49:8 Fliehet, wendet euch und verkriecht euch tief, ihr Bürger zu Dedan! denn ich lasse einen Unfall über Esau kommen, die Zeit seiner Heimsuchung.
49:8 Flee all of you, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
49:9 Es sollen Weinleser über dich kommen, die dir kein Nachlesen lassen; und die Diebe des Nachts sollen über dich kommen, die sollen ihnen genug verderben.
49:9 If grape-gatherers come to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
49:10 Denn ich habe Esau entblößt und seine verborgenen Orte geöffnet, daß er sich nicht verstecken kann; sein Same, seine Brüder und seine Nachbarn sind verstört, daß ihrer keiner mehr da ist.
49:10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
49:11 Doch was Übrigbleibt von deinen Waisen, denen will ich das Leben gönnen, und deine Witwen werden auf mich hoffen.
49:11 Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.
49:12 Denn so spricht der HERR: Siehe, die, so es nicht verschuldet hatten, den Kelch zu trinken, müssen trinken; und du solltest ungestraft bleiben? Du sollst nicht ungestraft bleiben, sondern du mußt auch trinken.
49:12 For thus says the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and are you he that shall altogether go unpunished? you shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink of it.
49:13 Denn ich habe bei mir selbst geschworen, spricht der HERR, daß Bozra soll ein Wunder, Schmach, Wüste und Fluch werden und alle ihre Städte eine ewige Wüste.
49:13 For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
49:14 Ich habe gehört vom HERRN, daß eine Botschaft unter die Heiden gesandt sei: Sammelt euch und kommt her wider sie, macht euch auf zum Streit!
49:14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather all of you together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
49:15 Denn siehe, ich habe dich gering gemacht unter den Heiden und verachtet unter den Menschen.
49:15 For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen, and despised among men.
49:16 Dein Trotz und dein Hochmut hat dich betrogen, weil du in Felsenklüften wohnst und hohe Gebirge innehast. Wenn du denn gleich dein Nest so hoch machtest wie der Adler, dennoch will ich dich von dort herunterstürzen, spricht der HERR. {~}
49:16 Your terribleness has deceived you, and the pride of yours heart, O you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, that hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from thence, says the LORD.
49:17 Also soll Edom wüst werden, daß alle die, so vorübergehen, sich wundern und pfeifen werden über alle ihre Plage;
49:17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
49:18 gleichwie Sodom und Gomorra samt ihren Nachbarn umgekehrt ist, spricht der HERR, daß niemand daselbst wohnen noch kein Mensch darin hausen soll.
49:18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
49:19 Denn siehe, er kommt herauf wie ein Löwe vom stolzen Jordan her wider die festen Hürden; denn ich will sie daraus eilends wegtreiben, und den, der erwählt ist, darübersetzen. Denn wer ist mir gleich, wer will mich meistern, und wer ist der Hirte, der mir widerstehen kann?
49:19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
49:20 So hört nun den Ratschlag des HERRN, den er über Edom hat, und seine Gedanken, die er über die Einwohner in Theman hat. Was gilt's? ob nicht die Hirtenknaben sie fortschleifen werden und ihre Wohnung zerstören,
49:20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
49:21 daß die Erde beben wird, wenn's ineinander fällt, und ihr Geschrei wird man am Schilfmeer hören.
49:21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.
49:22 Siehe, er fliegt herauf wie ein Adler und wird seine Flügel ausbreiten über Bozra. Zur selben Zeit wird das Herz der Helden in Edom sein wie das Herz einer Frau in Kindsnöten.
49:22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
49:23 Wider Damaskus. Hamath und Arpad stehen jämmerlich; sie sind verzagt, denn sie hören ein böses Geschrei; die am Meer wohnen, sind so erschrocken, daß sie nicht Ruhe haben können.
49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
49:24 Damaskus ist verzagt und gibt die Flucht; sie zappelt und ist in Ängsten und Schmerzen wie eine Frau in Kindsnöten.
49:24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turns herself to flee, and fear has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
49:25 Wie? ist sie nun nicht verlassen, die berühmte und fröhliche Stadt?
49:25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
49:26 Darum werden ihre junge Mannschaft auf ihren Gassen darniederliegen und alle ihre Kriegsleute untergehen zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.
49:26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD of hosts.
49:27 Und ich will in den Mauern von Damaskus ein Feuer anzünden, daß es die Paläste Benhadads verzehren soll.
49:27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
49:28 Wider Kedar und die Königreiche Hazors, welche Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, schlug. So spricht der HERR: Wohlauf, zieht herauf gegen Kedar und verstört die gegen Morgen wohnen!
49:28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall strike, thus says the LORD; Arise all of you, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.
49:29 Man wird ihnen ihre Hütten und Herden nehmen; ihr Gezelt, alle Geräte und Kamele werden sie wegführen; und man wird über sie rufen: Schrecken um und um!
49:29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
49:30 Fliehet, hebet euch eilends davon, verkriechet euch tief, ihr Einwohner in Hazor! spricht der HERR; denn Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, hat etwas im Sinn wider euch und meint euch.
49:30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O all of you inhabitants of Hazor, says the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.
49:31 Wohlauf, ziehet herauf wider ein Volk, das genug hat und sicher wohnt, spricht der HERR; sie haben weder Tür noch Riegel und wohnen allein.
49:31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwells without care, says the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.
49:32 Ihre Kamele sollen geraubt und die Menge ihres Viehs genommen werden; und ich will sie zerstreuen in alle Winde, alle, die das Haar rundherum abschneiden; und von allen Orten her will ich ihr Unglück über sie kommen lassen, spricht der HERR,
49:32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, says the LORD.
49:33 daß Hazor soll eine Wohnung der Schakale und eine ewige Wüste werden, daß niemand daselbst wohne und kein Mensch darin hause.
49:33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
49:34 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, welches geschah zu Jeremia, dem Propheten, wider Elam im Anfang des Königreichs Zedekias, des Königs in Juda, und sprach:
49:34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
49:35 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Siehe, ich will den Bogen Elams zerbrechen, ihre vornehmste Gewalt,
49:35 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
49:36 und will die vier Winde aus den vier Enden des Himmels über sie kommen lassen und will sie in alle diese Winde zerstreuen, daß kein Volk sein soll, dahin nicht Vertriebene aus Elam kommen werden.
49:36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
49:37 Und ich will Elam verzagt machen vor ihren Feinden und denen, die ihnen nach ihrem Leben stehen, und Unglück über sie kommen lassen mit meinem grimmigen Zorn, spricht der HERR; und will das Schwert hinter ihnen her schicken, bis es sie aufreibe.
49:37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
49:38 Meinen Stuhl will ich in Elam aufrichten und will beide, den König und die Fürsten, daselbst umbringen, spricht der HERR.
49:38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, says the LORD.
49:39 Aber in der letzten Zeit will ich das Gefängnis Elams wieder wenden, spricht der HERR.
49:39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, says the LORD.

50:1 Dies ist das Wort, welches der HERR durch den Propheten Jeremia geredet hat wider Babel und das Land der Chaldäer:
50:1 The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.
50:2 Verkündiget unter den Heiden und laßt erschallen, werfet ein Panier auf; laßt erschallen, und verberget's nicht und sprecht: Babel ist gewonnen, Bel steht mit Schanden, Merodach ist zerschmettert; ihre Götzen stehen mit Schanden, und ihre Götter sind zerschmettert!
50:2 Declare all of you among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
50:3 Denn es zieht von Mitternacht ein Volk herauf wider sie, welches wird ihr Land zur Wüste machen, daß niemand darin wohnen wird, sondern beide, Leute und Vieh, davonfliehen werden.
50:3 For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.
50:4 In denselben Tagen und zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR, werden kommen die Kinder Israel samt den Kindern Juda und weinend daherziehen und den HERRN, ihren Gott, suchen.
50:4 In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.
50:5 Sie werden forschen nach dem Wege gen Zion, dahin sich kehren: Kommt, wir wollen uns zum HERRN fügen mit einem ewigen Bunde, des nimmermehr vergessen werden soll!
50:5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces in that direction, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
50:6 Denn mein Volk ist wie eine verlorene Herde; ihre Hirten haben sie verführt und auf den Bergen in der Irre gehen lassen, daß sie von den Bergen auf die Hügel gegangen sind und ihre Hürden vergessen haben.
50:6 My people has been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.
50:7 Es fraßen sie alle, die sie antrafen; und ihre Feinde sprachen: Wir tun nicht unrecht! darum daß sie sich haben versündigt an dem HERRN in der Wohnung der Gerechtigkeit und an dem HERRN, der ihrer Väter Hoffnung ist.
50:7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.
50:8 Fliehet aus Babel und ziehet aus der Chaldäer Lande und stellt euch als Böcke vor der Herde her.
50:8 Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.
50:9 Denn siehe, ich will große Völker in Haufen aus dem Lande gegen Mitternacht erwecken und wider Babel heraufbringen, die sich wider sie sollen rüsten, welche sie sollen auch gewinnen; ihre Pfeile sind wie die eines guten Kriegers, der nicht fehlt.
50:9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.
50:10 Und das Chaldäerland soll ein Raub werden, daß alle, die sie berauben, sollen genug davon haben, spricht der HERR;
50:10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, says the LORD.
50:11 darum daß ihr euch des freut und rühmt, daß ihr mein Erbteil geplündert habt, und hüpft wie die jungen Kälber und wiehert wie die starken Gäule.
50:11 Because all of you were glad, because all of you rejoiced, O all of you destroyers of mine heritage, because all of you are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;
50:12 Eure Mutter besteht mit großer Schande, und die euch geboren hat, ist zum Spott geworden; siehe, unter den Heiden ist sie die geringste, wüst, dürr und öde.
50:12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
50:13 Denn vor dem Zorn des HERRN muß sie unbewohnt und ganz wüst bleiben, daß alle, so bei Babel vorübergehen, werden sich verwundern und pfeifen über all ihr Plage.
50:13 Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
50:14 Rüstet euch wider Babel umher, alle Schützen, schießt in sie, spart die Pfeile nicht; denn sie hat wider den HERRN gesündigt.
50:14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all you that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the LORD.
50:15 Jauchzt über sie um und um! Sie muß sich ergeben, ihr Grundfesten sind zerfallen, ihre Mauern sind abgebrochen; denn das ist des HERRN Rache. Rächt euch an ihr, tut ihr, wie sie getan hat.
50:15 Shout against her round about: she has given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do unto her.
50:16 Rottet aus von Babel beide, den Säemann und den Schnitter in der Ernte, daß ein jeglicher vor dem Schwert des Tyrannen sich kehre zu seinem Volk und ein jeglicher fliehe in sein Land.
50:16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.
50:17 Israel hat müssen sein eine zerstreute Herde, die die Löwen verscheucht haben. Am ersten fraß sie der König von Assyrien; darnach überwältigte sie Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel.
50:17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria has devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.
50:18 Darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe, ich will den König zu Babel heimsuchen und sein Land, gleichwie ich den König von Assyrien heimgesucht habe.
50:18 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
50:19 Israel aber will ich wieder Heim zu seiner Wohnung bringen, daß sie auf Karmel und Basan weiden und ihre Seele auf dem Gebirge Ephraim und Gilead gesättigt werden soll.
50:19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.
50:20 Zur selben Zeit und in denselben Tagen wird man die Missetat Israels suchen, spricht der HERR, aber es wird keine da sein, und die Sünden Juda's, aber es wird keine gefunden werden; denn ich will sie vergeben denen, so ich übrigbleiben lasse.
50:20 In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.
50:21 Zieh hinauf wider das Land, das alles verbittert hat; zieh hinauf wider die Einwohner der Heimsuchung; verheere und verbanne ihre Nachkommen, spricht der HERR, und tue alles, was ich dir befohlen habe! {~}
50:21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, says the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you.
50:22 Es ist ein Kriegsgeschrei im Lande und großer Jammer.
50:22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
50:23 Wie geht's zu, daß der Hammer der ganzen Welt zerbrochen und zerschlagen ist? Wie geht's zu, daß Babel eine Wüste geworden ist unter allen Heiden?
50:23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
50:24 Ich habe dir nachgestellt, Babel; darum bist du auch gefangen, ehe du dich's versahst; du bist getroffen und ergriffen, denn du hast dem HERRN getrotzt.
50:24 I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD.
50:25 Der HERR hat seinen Schatz aufgetan und die Waffen seines Zorns hervorgebracht; denn der HERR HERR Zebaoth hat etwas auszurichten in der Chaldäer Lande.
50:25 The LORD has opened his armoury, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.
50:26 Kommt her wider sie, ihr vom Ende, öffnet ihre Kornhäuser, werft sie in einen Haufen und verbannt sie, daß ihr nichts übrigbleibe!
50:26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.
50:27 Erwürgt alle ihre Rinder, führt sie hinab zu Schlachtbank! Weh ihnen! denn der Tag ist gekommen, die Zeit ihrer Heimsuchung.
50:27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day has come, the time of their visitation.
50:28 Man hört ein Geschrei der Flüchtigen und derer, so entronnen sind aus dem Lande Babel, auf daß sie verkündigen zu Zion die Rache des HERRN, unsers Gottes, die Rache seines Tempels.
50:28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.
50:29 Ruft viel wider Babel, belagert sie um und um, alle Bogenschützen, und laßt keinen davonkommen! Vergeltet ihr, wie sie verdient hat; wie sie getan hat, so tut ihr wieder! denn sie hat stolz gehandelt wider den HERR, den Heiligen in Israel. {~}
50:29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all you that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do unto her: for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.
50:30 Darum soll ihre junge Mannschaft fallen auf ihren Gassen, und alle Kriegsleute sollen untergehen zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR.
50:30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD.
50:31 Siehe, du Stolzer, ich will an dich, spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth; denn dein Tag ist gekommen, die Zeit deiner Heimsuchung.
50:31 Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the Lord GOD of hosts: for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.
50:32 Da soll der Stolze stürzen und fallen, daß ihn niemand aufrichte; ich will seine Städte mit Feuer anstecken, das soll alles, was um ihn her ist, verzehren.
50:32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.
50:33 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Siehe, die Kinder Israel samt den Kindern Juda müssen Gewalt und Unrecht leiden; alle, die sie gefangen weggeführt haben, halten sie und wollen sie nicht loslassen.
50:33 Thus says the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.
50:34 Aber ihr Erlöser ist stark, der heißt HERR Zebaoth; der wird ihre Sache so ausführen, daß er das Land bebend und die Einwohner zu Babel zitternd mache.
50:34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and trouble the inhabitants of Babylon.
50:35 Schwert soll kommen, spricht der HERR, über die Chaldäer und über ihr Einwohner zu Babel und über ihre Fürsten und über ihre Weisen!
50:35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, says the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.
50:36 Schwert soll kommen über ihre Weissager, daß sie zu Narren werden; Schwert soll kommen über ihre Starken, daß sie verzagen!
50:36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall be foolish: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.
50:37 Schwert soll kommen über ihre Rosse und Wagen und alles fremde Volk, so darin sind, daß sie zu Weibern werden! Schwert soll kommen über ihre Schätze, daß sie geplündert werden!
50:37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.
50:38 Trockenheit soll kommen über ihre Wasser, daß sie versiegen! denn es ist ein Götzenland, und sie trotzen auf ihre schrecklichen Götzen.
50:38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.
50:39 Darum sollen Wüstentiere und wilde Hunde darin wohnen und die jungen Strauße; und es soll nimmermehr bewohnt werden und niemand darin hausen für und für, {~}
50:39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
50:40 gleichwie Gott Sodom und Gomorra samt ihren Nachbarn umgekehrt hat, spricht der HERR, daß niemand darin wohne noch ein Mensch darin hause.
50:40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.
50:41 Siehe, es kommt ein Volk von Mitternacht her; viele Heiden und viele Könige werden vom Ende der Erde sich aufmachen.
50:41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
50:42 Die haben Bogen und Lanze; sie sind grausam und unbarmherzig; ihr Geschrei ist wie das Brausen des Meeres; sie reiten auf Rossen, gerüstet wie Kriegsmänner wider dich, du Tochter Babel.
50:42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against you, O daughter of Babylon.
50:43 Wenn der König zu Babel ihr Gerücht hören wird, so werden ihm die Fäuste entsinken; ihm wird so angst und bange werden wie einer Frau in Kindsnöten.
50:43 The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
50:44 Siehe, er kommt herauf wie ein Löwe vom stolzen Jordan wider die festen Hürden; denn ich will sie daraus eilends wegtreiben, und den, der erwählt ist, darübersetzen. Denn wer ist mir gleich, wer will micht meistern, und wer ist der Hirte, der mir widerstehen kann?
50:44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
50:45 So hört nun den Ratschlag des HERRN, den er über Babel hat, und seine Gedanken, die er hat über die Einwohner im Land der Chaldäer! Was gilt's? ob nicht die Hirtenknaben sie fortschleifen werden und ihre Wohnung zerstören.
50:45 Therefore hear all of you the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
50:46 Und die Erde wird beben von dem Geschrei, und es wird unter den Heiden erschallen, wenn Babel gewonnen wird.
50:46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

51:1 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will einen scharfen Wind erwecken wider Babel und wider ihre Einwohner, die sich wider mich gesetzt haben.
51:1 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;
51:2 Ich will auch Worfler gen Babel schicken, die sie worfeln sollen und ihr Land ausfegen, die allenthalben um sie sein werden am Tage ihres Unglücks;
51:2 And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.
51:3 denn ihre Schützen werden nicht schießen, und ihre Geharnischten werden sich nicht wehren können. So verschont nun ihre junge Mannschaft nicht, verbannet all ihr Heer,
51:3 Against him that bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifts himself up in his brigandine: and spare all of you not her young men; destroy all of you utterly all her host.
51:4 daß die Erschlagenen daliegen im Lande der Chaldäer und die Erstochenen auf ihren Gassen!
51:4 Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.
51:5 Denn Israel und Juda sollen nicht Witwen von ihrem Gott, dem HERRN Zebaoth, gelassen werden. Denn jener Land hat sich hoch verschuldet am Heiligen in Israel.
51:5 For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
51:6 Fliehet aus Babel, damit ein jeglicher seine Seele errette, daß ihr nicht untergeht in ihrer Missetat! Denn dies ist die Zeit der Rache des HERRN, der ein Vergelter ist und will ihnen bezahlen.
51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
51:7 Ein goldener Kelch, der alle Welt trunken gemacht hat, war Babel in der Hand des HERRN; alle Heiden haben von ihrem Wein getrunken, darum sind die Heiden so toll geworden.
51:7 Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
51:8 Wie plötzlich ist Babel gefallen und zerschmettert! Heulet über sie, nehmet auch Salbe zu ihren Wunden, ob sie vielleicht möchte heil werden!
51:8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
51:9 Wir heilen Babel; aber sie will nicht heil werden. So laßt sie fahren und laßt uns ein jeglicher in sein Land ziehen! Denn ihre Strafe reicht bis an den Himmel und langt hinauf bis an die Wolken.
51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reachs unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
51:10 Der HERR hat unsre Gerechtigkeit hervorgebracht; kommt, laßt uns zu Zion erzählen die Werke des HERRN, unsers Gottes!
51:10 The LORD has brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
51:11 Ja, schärft nun die Pfeile wohl und rüstet die Schilde! Der HERR hat den Mut der Könige in Medien erweckt; denn seine Gedanken stehen wider Babel, daß er sie verderbe. Denn dies ist die Rache des HERRN, die Rache seines Tempels.
51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
51:12 Ja, steckt nun Panier auf die Mauern zu Babel, nehmt die Wache ein, setzt Wächter, bestellt die Hut! denn der HERR gedenkt etwas und wird auch tun, was er wider die Einwohner zu Babel geredet hat.
51:12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD has both devised and done that which he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.
51:13 Die du an großen Wassern wohnst und große Schätze hast, dein Ende ist gekommen, und dein Geiz ist aus!
51:13 O you that dwell upon many waters, abundant in treasures, yours end has come, and the measure of your covetousness.
51:14 Der HERR Zebaoth hat bei seiner Seele geschworen: Ich will dich mit Menschen füllen, als wären's Käfer; die sollen dir ein Liedlein singen!
51:14 The LORD of hosts has sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against you.
51:15 Er hat die Erde durch seine Kraft gemacht und den Weltkreis durch seine Weisheit bereitet und den Himmel ausgebreitet durch seinen Verstand.
51:15 He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
51:16 Wenn er donnert, so ist da Wasser die Menge unter dem Himmel; er zieht die Nebel auf vom Ende der Erde; er macht die Blitze im Regen und läßt den Wind kommen aus seinen Vorratskammern.
51:16 When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasures.
51:17 Alle Menschen sind Narren mit ihrer Kunst, und die Goldschmiede bestehen mit Schanden mit ihren Bildern; denn ihre Götzen sind Trügerei und haben kein Leben.
51:17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
51:18 Es ist eitel Nichts und verführerisches Werk; sie müssen umkommen, wenn sie heimgesucht werden.
51:18 They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
51:19 Aber also ist der nicht, der Jakobs Schatz ist; sondern der alle Dinge schafft, der ist's, und Israel ist sein Erbteil. Er heißt HERR Zebaoth.
51:19 The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
51:20 Du bist mein Hammer, meine Kriegswaffe; durch dich zerschmettere ich die Heiden und zerstöre die Königreiche;
51:20 You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you will I break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms;
51:21 durch dich zerschmettere ich Rosse und Reiter und zerschmettere Wagen und Fuhrmänner;
51:21 And with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;
51:22 durch dich zerschmettere ich Männer und Weiber und zerschmettere Alte und Junge und zerschmettere Jünglinge und Jungfrauen;
51:22 With you also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces old and young; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;
51:23 durch dich zerschmettere ich Hirten und Herden und zerschmettere Bauern und Joche und zerschmettere Fürsten und Herren.
51:23 I will also break in pieces with you the shepherd and his flock; and with you will I break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you will I break in pieces captains and rulers.
51:24 Und ich will Babel und allen Einwohnern in Chaldäa vergelten alle ihre Bosheit, die sie an Zion begangen haben, vor euren Augen, spricht der HERR.
51:24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, says the LORD.
51:25 Siehe, ich will an dich, du schädlicher Berg, der du alle Welt verderbest, spricht der HERR; ich will meine Hand über dich strecken und dich von den Felsen herabwälzen und will einen verbrannten Berg aus dir machen,
51:25 Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.
51:26 daß man weder Eckstein noch Grundstein aus dir nehmen könne, sondern eine ewige Wüste sollst du sein, spricht der HERR.
51:26 And they shall not take of you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but you shall be desolate for ever, says the LORD.
51:27 Werfet Panier auf im Lande, blaset die Posaune unter den Heiden, heiliget die Heiden wider sie; rufet wider sie die Königreiche Ararat, Minni und Askenas; bestellt Hauptleute wider sie; bringt Rosse herauf wie flatternde Käfer!
51:27 Set all of you up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars.
51:28 Heiligt die Heiden wider sie, die Könige aus Medien samt allen ihren Fürsten und Herren und das ganze Land ihrer Herrschaft,
51:28 Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
51:29 daß das Land erbebe und erschrecke; denn die Gedanken des HERRN wollen erfüllt werden wider Babel, daß er das Land Babel zur Wüste mache, darin niemand wohne.
51:29 And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.
51:30 Die Helden zu Babel werden nicht zu Felde ziehen, sondern müssen in der Festung bleiben, ihre Stärke ist aus, sie sind Weiber geworden; ihre Wohnungen sind angesteckt und ihre Riegel zerbrochen.
51:30 The mighty men of Babylon have ceased to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might has failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwelling places; her bars are broken.
51:31 Es läuft hier einer und da einer dem andern entgegen, und eine Botschaft begegnet der andern, dem König zu Babel anzusagen, daß seine Stadt gewonnen sei bis ans Ende
51:31 One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at every quarter,
51:32 und die Furten eingenommen und die Seen ausgebrannt sind und die Kriegsleute seien blöde geworden. {~}
51:32 And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.
51:33 Denn also spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: "Die Tochter Babel ist wie eine Tenne, wenn man darauf drischt; es wird ihre Ernte gar bald kommen."
51:33 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
51:34 Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, hat mich gefressen und umgebracht; er hat aus mir ein leeres Gefäß gemacht; er hat mich verschlungen wie ein Drache; er hat seinen Bauch gefüllt mit meinem Köstlichsten; er hat mich verstoßen.
51:34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, he has made me an empty vessel, he has swallowed me up like a dragon, he has filled his belly with my delicates, he has cast me out.
51:35 Nun aber komme über Babel der Frevel, an mir begangen und an meinem Fleische, spricht die Einwohnerin zu Zion, und mein Blut über die Einwohner in Chaldäa, spricht Jerusalem.
51:35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.
51:36 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will dir deine Sache ausführen und dich rächen; ich will ihr Meer austrocknen und ihre Brunnen versiegen lassen.
51:36 Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.
51:37 Und Babel soll zum Steinhaufen und zur Wohnung der Schakale werden, zum Wunder und zum Anpfeifen, daß niemand darin wohne.
51:37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.
51:38 Sie sollen miteinander brüllen wie die Löwen und schreien wie die jungen Löwen.
51:38 They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps.
51:39 Ich will sie mit ihrem Trinken in die Hitze setzen und will sie trunken machen, daß sie fröhlich werden und einen ewigen Schlaf schlafen, von dem sie nimmermehr aufwachen sollen, spricht der HERR.
51:39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the LORD.
51:40 Ich will sie herunterführen wie Lämmer zur Schlachtbank, wie die Widder mit den Böcken.
51:40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.
51:41 Wie ist Sesach so gewonnen und die Berühmte in aller Welt so eingenommen! Wie ist Babel so zum Wunder geworden unter den Heiden!
51:41 How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
51:42 Es ist ein Meer über Babel gegangen, und es ist mit seiner Wellen Menge bedeckt.
51:42 The sea has come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
51:43 Ihre Städte sind zur Wüste und zu einem dürren, öden Lande geworden, zu einem Lande, darin niemand wohnt und darin kein Mensch wandelt.
51:43 Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby.
51:44 Denn ich habe den Bel zu Babel heimgesucht und habe aus seinem Rachen gerissen, was er verschlungen hatte; und die Heiden sollen nicht mehr zu ihm laufen; denn es sind auch die Mauern zu Babel zerfallen.
51:44 And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
51:45 Ziehet heraus, mein Volk, und errette ein jeglicher seine Seele vor dem grimmigen Zorn des HERRN!
51:45 My people, go all of you out of the midst of her, and deliver all of you every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.
51:46 Euer Herz möchte sonst weich werden und verzagen vor dem Geschrei, das man im Lande hören wird; denn es wird ein Geschrei übers Jahr gehen und darnach im andern Jahr auch ein Geschrei über Gewalt im Lande und wird ein Fürst wider den andern sein.
51:46 And lest your heart faint, and all of you fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
51:47 Darum siehe, es kommt die Zeit, daß ich die Götzen zu Babel heimsuchen will und ihr ganzes Land zu Schanden werden soll und ihre Erschlagenen darin liegen werden.
51:47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
51:48 Himmel und Erde und alles was darinnen ist, werden jauchzen über Babel, daß ihre Verstörer von Mitternacht gekommen sind, spricht der HERR.
51:48 Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, says the LORD.
51:49 Und wie Babel in Israel die Erschlagenen gefällt hat, also sollen zu Babel die Erschlagenen fallen im ganzen Lande.
51:49 As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.
51:50 So ziehet nun hin, die ihr dem Schwert entronnen seid, und säumet euch nicht! Gedenket des HERRN im fernen Lande und lasset euch Jerusalem im Herzen sein!
51:50 All of you that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD far off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
51:51 Wir waren zu Schanden geworden, da wir die Schmach hören mußten, und die Scham unser Angesicht bedeckte, da die Fremden über das Heiligtum des Hauses des HERRN kamen.
51:51 We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house.
51:52 Darum siehe, die Zeit kommt, spricht der HERR, daß ich ihre Götzen heimsuchen will, und im ganzen Lande sollen die tödlich Verwundeten seufzen.
51:52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.
51:53 Und wenn Babel gen Himmel stiege und ihre Macht in der Höhe festmachte, so sollen doch Verstörer von mir über sie kommen, spricht der HERR.
51:53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, says the LORD.
51:54 Man hört ein Geschrei zu Babel und einen großen Jammer in der Chaldäer Lande;
51:54 A sound of a cry comes from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:
51:55 denn der HERR verstört Babel und verderbt sie mit großem Getümmel; ihre Wellen brausen wie die großen Wasser, es erschallt ihr lautes Toben.
51:55 Because the LORD has spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:
51:56 Denn es ist über Babel der Verstörer gekommen, ihre Helden werden gefangen, ihre Bogen zerbrochen; denn der Gott der Rache, der HERR, bezahlt ihr.
51:56 Because the spoiler has come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.
51:57 Ich will ihre Fürsten, Weisen, Herren und Hauptleute und Krieger trunken machen, daß sie einen ewigen Schlaf sollen schlafen, davon sie nimmermehr aufwachen, spricht der König, der da heißt HERR Zebaoth.
51:57 And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
51:58 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Die Mauern der großen Babel sollen untergraben und ihre hohen Tore mit Feuer angesteckt werden, daß der Heiden Arbeit verloren sei, und daß verbrannt werde, was die Völker mit Mühe erbaut haben.
51:58 Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.
51:59 Dies ist das Wort, das der Prophet Jeremia befahl Seraja dem Sohn Nerias, des Sohnes Maasejas, da er zog mit Zedekia, dem König in Juda, gen Babel im vierten Jahr seines Königreichs. Und Seraja war der Marschall für die Reise.
51:59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.
51:60 Und Jeremia schrieb all das Unglück, so über Babel kommen sollte, in ein Buch, nämlich alle diese Worte, die wider Babel geschrieben sind.
51:60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.
51:61 Und Jeremia sprach zu Seraja: Wenn du gen Babel kommst, so schaue zu und lies alle diese Worte
51:61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, and shall see, and shall read all these words;
51:62 und sprich: HERR, du hast geredet wider diese Stätte, daß du sie willst ausrotten, daß niemand darin wohne, weder Mensch noch Vieh, sondern daß sie ewiglich wüst sei.
51:62 Then shall you say, O LORD, you have spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.
51:63 Und wenn du das Buch hast ausgelesen, so binde einen Stein daran und wirf es in den Euphrat{~}
51:63 And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:
51:64 und sprich: also soll Babel versenkt werden und nicht wieder aufkommen von dem Unglück, das ich über sie bringen will, sondern vergehen. So weit hat Jeremia geredet.
51:64 And you shall say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

52:1 Zedekia war einundzwanzig Jahre alt, da er König ward und regierte elf Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Hamutal, eine Tochter Jeremia's zu Libna.
52:1 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
52:2 Und er tat was dem HERRN übel gefiel, gleich wie Jojakim getan hatte.
52:2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
52:3 Denn es ging des HERRN Zorn über Jerusalem und Juda, bis er sie von seinem Angesicht verwarf. Und Zedekia fiel ab vom König zu Babel.
52:3 For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
52:4 Aber im neunten Jahr seines Königreichs, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats, kam Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, samt all seinem Heer wider Jerusalem, und sie belagerten es und machten Bollwerke ringsumher.
52:4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
52:5 Und blieb also die Stadt belagert bis ins elfte Jahr des Königs Zedekia.
52:5 So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
52:6 Aber am neunten Tage des vierten Monats nahm der Hunger überhand in der Stadt, und hatte das Volk vom Lande nichts mehr zu essen.
52:6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
52:7 Da brach man in die Stadt; und alle Kriegsleute gaben die Flucht und zogen zur Stadt hinaus bei der Nacht auf dem Wege durch das Tor zwischen den zwei Mauern, der zum Garten des Königs geht. Aber die Chaldäer lagen um die Stadt her.
52:7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.
52:8 Und da diese zogen des Weges zum blachen Feld, jagte der Chaldäer Heer dem König nach und ergriffen Zedekia in dem Felde bei Jericho; da zerstreute sich all sein Heer von ihm.
52:8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
52:9 Und sie fingen den König und brachten ihn hinauf zum König zu Babel gen Ribla, das im Lande Hamath liegt, der sprach ein Urteil über ihn.
52:9 Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
52:10 Allda ließ der König zu Babel die Söhne Zedekias vor seinen Augen erwürgen und erwürgte alle Fürsten Juda's zu Ribla.
52:10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
52:11 Aber Zedekia ließ er die Augen ausstechen und ließ ihn mit zwei Ketten binden, und führte ihn also der König zu Babel gen Babel und legte ihn ins Gefängnis, bis daß er starb.
52:11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
52:12 Am zehnten Tage des fünften Monats, welches ist das neunzehnte Jahr Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel, kam Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann der Trabanten, der stets um den König zu Babel war gen Jerusalem{~}
52:12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
52:13 und verbrannte des HERRN Haus und des Königs Haus und alle Häuser zu Jerusalem; alle großen Häuser verbrannte er mit Feuer.
52:13 And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
52:14 Und das ganze Heer der Chaldäer, so bei dem Hauptmann war, riß um alle Mauern zu Jerusalem ringsumher.
52:14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
52:15 Aber das arme Volk und andere Volk so noch übrig war in der Stadt, und die zum König zu Babel fielen und das übrige Handwerksvolk führte Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, gefangen weg.
52:15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
52:16 Und vom armen Volk auf dem Lande ließ Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, bleiben Weingärtner und Ackerleute.
52:16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
52:17 Aber die ehernen Säulen am Hause des HERR und das Gestühl und das eherne Meer am Hause des HERRN zerbrachen die Chaldäer und führten all das Erz davon gen Babel.
52:17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
52:18 Und die Kessel, Schaufeln, Messer, Becken, Kellen und alle ehernen Gefäße, die man im Gottesdienst pflegte zu brauchen, nahmen sie weg.
52:18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
52:19 Dazu nahm der Hauptmann, was golden und silbern war an Bechern, Räuchtöpfen, Becken, Kesseln, Leuchtern, Löffeln und Schalen.
52:19 And the basons, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
52:20 Die zwei Säulen, das Meer, die Zwölf ehernen Rinder darunter und die Gestühle, welche der König Salomo hatte lassen machen zum Hause des HERRN, alles dieses Gerätes aus Erz war unermeßlich viel.
52:20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
52:21 Der zwei Säulen aber war eine jegliche achtzehn Ellen hoch, und eine Schnur, zwölf Ellen lang, reichte um sie her, und war eine jegliche vier Finger dick und inwendig hohl;
52:21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fastener of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
52:22 und stand auf jeglicher ein eherner Knauf, fünf Ellen hoch, und ein Gitterwerk und Granatäpfel waren an jeglichem Knauf ringsumher, alles ehern; und war eine Säule wie die andere, die Granatäpfel auch.
52:22 And a capital of brass was upon it; and the height of one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capitals round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
52:23 Es waren der Granatäpfel sechsundneunzig daran, und aller Granatäpfel waren hundert an einem Gitterwerk rings umher.
52:23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
52:24 Und der Hauptmann nahm den obersten Priester Seraja und den Priester Zephanja, den nächsten nach ihm, und die drei Torhüter
52:24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
52:25 und einen Kämmerer aus der Stadt, welcher über die Kriegsleute gesetzt war, und sieben Männer, welche um den König sein mußten, die in der Stadt gefunden wurden, dazu den Schreiber des Feldhauptmanns, der das Volk im Lande zum Heer aufbot, dazu sechzig Mann Landvolks, so in der Stadt gefunden wurden: {~}
52:25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
52:26 diese nahm Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, und brachte sie dem König zu Babel gen Ribla.
52:26 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
52:27 Und der König zu Babel schlug sie tot zu Ribla, das im Lande Hamath liegt. Also ward Juda aus seinem Lande weggeführt.
52:27 And the king of Babylon stroke them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
52:28 Dies ist das Volk, welches Nebukadnezar weggeführt hat: im siebenten Jahr dreitausend und dreiundzwanzig Juden;
52:28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
52:29 Im achtzehnten Jahr aber des Nebukadnezars achthundert und zweiunddreißig Seelen aus Jerusalem;
52:29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
52:30 und im dreiundzwanzigsten Jahr des Nebukadnezars führte Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, siebenhundert und fünfundvierzig Seelen weg aus Juda. Alle Seelen sind viertausend und sechshundert.
52:30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
52:31 Aber im siebenunddreißigsten Jahr, nachdem Jojachin, der König zu Juda, weggeführt war, am fünfundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats, erhob Evil-Merodach, der König zu Babel, im Jahr, da er König ward, das Haupt Jojachins, des Königs in Juda, und ließ ihn aus dem Gefängnis
52:31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison.
52:32 und redete freundlich mit ihm und setzte seinen Stuhl über der Könige Stühle, die bei ihm zu Babel waren,
52:32 And spoke kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
52:33 und wandelte ihm seines Gefängnisses Kleider, daß er vor ihm aß stets sein Leben lang. {~}
52:33 And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
52:34 Und ihm ward stets sein Unterhalt vom König zu Babel gegeben, wie es ihm verordnet war, sein ganzes Leben lang bis an sein Ende.
52:34 And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
