1:1 イエス・キリストの黙示。この黙示は、神が、すぐにも起こるべきことをその僕たちに示すためキリストに与え、そして、キリストが、御使をつかわして、僕ヨハネに伝えられたものである。
1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
1:2 ヨハネは、神の言とイエス・キリストのあかしと、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことをあかしした。
1:2 Who bare record of the word (o. logos) of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
1:3 この預言の言葉を朗読する者と、これを聞いて、その中に書かれていることを守る者たちは、さいわいである。時が近づいているからである。
1:3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words (o. logos) of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
1:4 ヨハネからアジヤにある七つの教会へ。今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべきかたから、また、その御座の前にある七つの霊から、
1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits (o. pneuma) which are before his throne;
1:5 また、忠実な証人、死人の中から最初に生まれた者、地上の支配者であるイエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とが、あなたがたにあるように。わたしたちを愛し、その血によってわたしたちを罪から解放し、
1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the First-Born of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
1:6 わたしたちを、その父なる神のために、御国の民として、祭司として下さったかたに、世々限りなく栄光と権力とがあるように、アァメン。
1:6 And has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1:7 見よ、彼は、雲に乗ってこられる。すべての人の目、ことに、彼を刺しとおした者たちは、彼を仰ぎ見るであろう。また地上の諸族はみな、彼のゆえに胸を打って嘆くであろう。しかり、アァメン。
1:7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all families of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
1:8 今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべき者、全能者にして主なる神が仰せになる、「わたしはアルパであり、オメガである」。
1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
1:9 あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。
1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word (o. logos) of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
1:10 ところが、わたしは、主の日に御霊に感じた。そして、わたしのうしろの方で、ラッパのような大きな声がするのを聞いた。
1:10 I was in the Spirit (o. pneuma) on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
1:11 その声はこう言った、「あなたが見ていることを書きものにして、それをエペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テラテア、サルビス、ヒラデルヒア、ラオデキヤにある七つの教会に送りなさい」。
1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
1:12 そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。
1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
1:13 それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子のような者がいた。
1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breast with a golden girdle.
1:14 そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であり、目は燃える炎のようであった。
1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
1:15 その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであり、声は大水のとどろきのようであった。
1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
1:16 その右手に七つの星を持ち、口からは、鋭いもろ刃のつるぎがつき出ており、顔は、強く照り輝く太陽のようであった。
1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.
1:17 わたしは彼を見たとき、その足もとに倒れて死人のようになった。すると、彼は右手をわたしの上において言った、「恐れるな。わたしは初めであり、終りであり、
1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
1:18 また、生きている者である。わたしは死んだことがあるが、見よ、世々限りなく生きている者である。そして、死と黄泉とのかぎを持っている。
1:18 I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
1:19 そこで、あなたの見たこと、現在のこと、今後起ころうとすることを、書きとめなさい。
1:19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
1:20 あなたがわたしの右手に見た七つの星と、七つの金の燭台との奥義は、こうである。すなわち、七つの星は七つの教会の御使であり、七つの燭台は七つの教会である。
1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches.
2:1 エペソにある教会の御使に、こう書き送りなさい。『右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く者が、次のように言われる。
2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things says he that holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2:2 わたしは、あなたのわざと労苦と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをゆるしておくことができず、使徒と自称してはいるが、その実、使徒でない者たちをためしてみて、にせ者であると見抜いたことも、知っている。
2:2 I know your works, and your labour, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:
2:3 あなたは忍耐をし続け、わたしの名のために忍びとおして、弱り果てることがなかった。
2:3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my name's sake have laboured, and have not fainted.
2:4 しかし、あなたに対して背むべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。
2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love. (o. agape)
2:5 そこで、あなたはどこから落ちたかを思い起こし、悔い改めて初めのわざを行いなさい。もし、そうしないで悔い改めなければ、わたしはあなたのところにきて、あなたの燭台をその場所から取りのけよう。
2:5 Remember therefore from whence you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent.
2:6 しかし、こういうことはある。あなたはニコライ宗の人々のわざを憎んでおり、わたしもそれを憎んでいる。
2:6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
2:7 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者は、神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木ノ実を食べることをゆるそう』。
2:7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
2:8 スミルナにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『初めであり、終わりである者、死んだことはあるが生き返った者が、次のように言われる。
2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things says the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
2:9 わたしは、あなたの苦難や、貧しさを知っている（しかし実際は、あなたは富んでいるのだ）。また、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実はユダヤ人ではなくてサタンの会堂に属する者たちにそしられていることも、わたしは知っている。
2:9 I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
2:10 あなたの受けようとする苦しみを恐れてはならない。見よ、悪魔が、あなたがたのうちのある者をためすために、獄に入れようとしている。あなたがたは十日の間、苦難にあうであろう。死に至るまで忠実であれ。そうすれば、いのちの冠を与えよう。
2:10 Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that all of you may be tried; and all of you shall have tribulation ten days: be you faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.
2:11 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者は、第二の死によって滅ぼされることはない』。
2:11 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.
2:12 ペルガモにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『鋭いもろ刃のつるぎを持っているかたが、次のように言われる。
2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things says he which has the sharp sword with two edges;
2:13 わたしはあなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの座がある。あなたは、わたしの名を堅く持ちつづけ、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住んでいるあなたがたの所で殺された時でさえ。わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。
2:13 I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's seat is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
2:14 しかし、あなたがたに対して責むべきことが、少しばかりある。あなたがたの中には、現にバラムの教を奉じている者がある。バラムは、バラクに教え込み、イスラエルの子らの前に、つまずきになるものを置かせて、偶像にささげものをたべさせ、また不品行をさせたのである。
2:14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
2:15 同じように、あなたがたの中には、ニコライ宗の教を奉じている者もいる。
2:15 So have you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
2:16 だから、悔い改めなさい。そうしないと、わたしはすぐにあなたがたのところに行き、わたしの口のつるぎをもって彼らと戦おう。
2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
2:17 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、隠されているマナを与えよう。また、白い石を与えよう。この石の上には、これを受ける者のほかだれも知らない新しい名が書いてある』。
2:17 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.
2:18 テアテラにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『燃える炎のような目と光り輝くしんちゅうのような足とをもった神の子が、次のように言われる。
2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things says the Son of God, who has his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
2:19 わたしは、あなたのわざと、あなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたの後のわざが、初めよりもまさっていることを知っている。
2:19 I know your works, and love, (o. agape) and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first.
2:20 しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは、あのイゼベルという女を、そのなすがままにさせている。この女は女預言者と自称し、わたしの僕たちを教え、惑わして、不品行をさせ、偶像にささげものを食べさせている。
2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you suffer that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
2:21 わたしは、この女に悔い改めるおりを与えたが、悔い改めてその不品行をやめようとはしない。
2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
2:22 見よ、わたしはこの女を病の床に投げ入れる。この女と姦淫する者をも、悔い改めて彼女のわざから離れなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ入れる。
2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
2:23 また、この女の子供たちをも打ち殺そう。こうしてすべての教会は、わたしが人の心の奥底までも探り知る者であることを悟るであろう。そしてわたしは、あなたがたひとりびとりのわざに応じて報いよう。
2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
2:24 また、テアテラにいるほかの人たちで、まだあの女の教を受けておらず、サタンの、いわゆる「深み」を知らないあなたがたに言う。わたしは別にほかの重荷を、あなたがたに負わせることはしない。
2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you no other burden.
2:25 ただ、わたしが来る時まで、自分の持っているものを堅く保っていなさい。
2:25 But that which all of you have already hold fast till I come.
2:26 勝利を得る者、わたしのわざを最後まで持ち続ける者には、諸国民を支配する権威を授ける。
2:26 And he that overcomes, and keeps my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
2:27 彼は鉄のつえをもって、ちょうど土の器を砕くように、彼らを治めるであろう。それは、わたし自身が父から権威を受けて治めるのと同様である。
2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
2:28 わたしはまた、彼に明けの明星を与える。耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
2:29 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.
3:1 サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。
3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things says he that has the seven Spirits (o. pneuma) of God, and the seven stars; I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and are dead.
3:2 目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたかのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。
3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.
3:3 だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起こして、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。
3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come upon you.
3:4 しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩を続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。
3:4 You have a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
3:5 勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられるのである。わたしは、その名をいのちの書から消すようなことを、決してしない。また、わたしの父と御使たちの前で、その名を言いあらわそう。
3:5 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
3:6 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
3:6 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.
3:7 ヒラデルヒヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『聖なる者、まことなる者、ダビデのかぎを持つ者、開けばだれにも閉じられることがなく、閉じればだれにも開かれることのない者が、次のように言われる。
3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says he that is holy, he that is true, he that has the key of David, he that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;
3:8 わたしは、あなたのわざを知っている。見よ、わたしは、あなたの前に、だれも閉じることのできない門を開いて於いた。なぜなら、あなたには少ししか力がなかったにもかかわらず、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。
3:8 I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept my word, (o. logos) and have not denied my name.
3:9 見よ、サタンの会堂に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくて、偽る者たちに、こうしよう。見よ、彼らがあなたの足もとにきて平伏するようにし、そして、わたしがあなたを愛していることを、彼らに知らせよう。
3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.
3:10 忍耐についてのわたしの言葉をあなたが守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちをためすために、全世界に臨もうとしている試練の時に、あなたを防ぎ守ろう。
3:10 Because you have kept the word (o. logos) of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
3:11 わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠がだれにも奪われないように、自分の持っているものを堅く守っていなさい。
3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown.
3:12 勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所における柱にしよう。彼は決して二度と外へ出ることはない。そして彼の上に、わたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、天とわたしの神のみもとから下ってくる新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを、書きつけよう。
3:12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
3:13 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
3:13 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.
3:14 ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。
3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
3:15 わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。
3:15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.
3:16 このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。
3:16 So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
3:17 あなたは、自分は富んでいる。豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者。目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。
3:17 Because you says, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
3:18 そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。
3:18 I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint yours eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
3:19 すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
3:20 見よ、わたしを聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
3:21 勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。
3:21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
3:22 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
3:22 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.
4:1 その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、開いた門が天にあった。そして、さきにラッパのような声でわたしに呼びかけるのを聞いた初めの声が、「ここに上ってきなさい。そうしたら、これから後に起こるべきことを、見せてあげよう」と言った。
4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up here, and I will show you things which must be hereafter.
4:2 すると、たちまち、わたしは御霊に感じた。見よ、御座が天に設けられており、その御座にいますかたがあった。
4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: (o. pneuma) and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
4:3 その座にいますかたは、碧玉や赤めのうのように見え、また、御座のまわりには、緑玉のように見えるにじが現れていた。
4:3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4:4 また、御座のまわりは二十四の座があって、二十四人の長老が白い衣を身にまとい、頭に金の冠をかぶって、それらの座についていた。
4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
4:5 御座からは、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが、発していた。また、七つのともし火が、御座の前で燃えていた。これらは、神の七つの霊である。
4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits (o. pneuma) of God.
4:6 御座の前は、水晶に似たガラスの海のようであった。御座のそば近くそのまわりには、四つの生き物がいたが、その前にも後ろにも、一面に目がついていた。
4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
4:7 第一の生き物はししのようであり、第二の生き物は雄牛のようであり、第三の生き物は人のような顔をしており、第四の生き物は飛ぶわしのようであった。
4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
4:8 この四つの生き物には、それぞれ六つの翼があり、その翼のまわりも内側も目で満ちていた。そして、昼も夜も、絶え間なくこう叫びつづけていた。「聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな、全能者にして主なる神。昔いまし、今いまし、やがてきたるべき者」。
4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
4:9 これらの生き物が、御座にいまし、かつ、世々限りなく生きておられるかたに、栄光とほまれとに帰し、また、感謝をささげている時、
4:9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who lives for ever and ever,
4:10 二十四人の長老は、御座にいますかたのみまえにひれ伏し、世々限りなく生きておられるかたを拝み、彼らの冠を御座のまえに、投げ出して言った、
4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
4:11 「われらの主なる神よ、あなたこそは、栄光とほまれと力とを受けるにふさわしいかた。あなたは万物を造られました。御旨によって、万物は存在し、また造られたのであります」。
4:11 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.
5:1 わたしはまた、御座にいますかたの右の手に、巻物があるのを見た。その内側にも外側にも字が書いてあって、七つの封印で封じてあった。
5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
5:2 また、ひとりの強い御使が、大声で、「その巻物を開き、封印をとくのにふさわしい者は、だれか」と呼ばわっているのを見た。
5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
5:3 しかし、天に地ちにも地の下にも、この巻物を開いて、それを見ることのできる者は、ひとりもいなかった。
5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
5:4 巻物を開いてそれを見るのにふさわしい者が見当たらないので、わたしは激しく泣いていた。
5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5:5 すると、長老のひとりがわたしに言った、「泣くな。見よ、ユダ族のしし、ダビデの若枝であるかたが、勝利を得たので、その巻物を開き七つの封印を解くことができる」。
5:5 And one of the elders says unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
5:6 わたしはまた、御座と四つの生き物との間、長老たちの間に、ほふられたとみえる小羊が立っているのを見た。それに七つの角と七つの目とがあった。これらの目は、全世界につかわされた、神の七つの霊である。
5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits (o. pneuma) of God sent forth into all the earth.
5:7 小羊は進み出て、御座にいますかたの右の手から、巻物を受けとった。
5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
5:8 巻物を受けとった時、四つの生き物と二十四人の長老とは、おのおの、立琴と、香の満ちている金の鉢とを手に持って、小羊の前にひれ伏した。この香は聖徒の祈りである。
5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
5:9 彼らは新しい歌を歌って言った、「あなたこそは、その巻物を受けとり、封印を解くにふさわしいかたであります。あなたはほふられ、その血によって、神のために、あらゆる部族、国語、民族、国民の中から人々をあがない、
5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
5:10 わたしたちの神のために、彼らを御国の民とし、祭司となさいました。彼らは地上を支配するに至るでしょう」。
5:10 And have made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
5:11 さらに見ていると、御座と生き物と長老たちとのまわりに、多くの御使たちの声が上がるのを聞いた。その数は万の幾万倍、千の幾千倍もあって、
5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
5:12 大声で叫んでいた、「ほふられた小羊こそは、力と、富と、知恵と、勢いと、ほまれと、栄光と、さんびとを受けるにふさわしい」。
5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
5:13 またわたしは、天と地、地の下と海の中にあるすべてのものの言う声を聞いた、「御座にいますかたと小羊とに、さんびと、ほまれと、栄光と、権力とが、世々限りなくあるように」。
5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
5:14 四つの生き物はアァメンと唱え、長老たちはひれ伏して礼拝した。
5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that lives for ever and ever.
6:1 小羊がその七つの封印の一つを解いた時、わたしが見ていると、四つの生き物の一つが、雷のような声で「きたれ」と呼ぶのを聞いた。
6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
6:2 そして見ていると、見よ、白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、弓を手に持っており、また冠を与えられて、勝利の上になお勝利を得ようとして出かけた。
6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
6:3 小羊が第二の封印を解いた時、第二の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。
6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
6:4 すると今度は、赤い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、人人が互に殺し合うようになるために、地上から平和を奪い取ることを許され、また、大きなつるぎを与えられた。
6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
6:5 また、第三の封印を解いた時、第三の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。そこで見ていると、見よ、黒い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、はかりを手に持っていた。
6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6:6 すると、わたしは四つの生き物の間から出てくると思われる声が、こう言うのを聞いた、「小麦一ますは一デナリ、大麦三ますも一デナリ。オリブ油とぶどう酒とを、そこなうな」。
6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see you hurt not the oil and the wine.
6:7 小羊が第四の封印を解いた時、第四の生き物が「きたれ」と言う声を、わたしは聞いた。
6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
6:8 そこで見ていると、見よ、青白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者の名は「死」と言い、それに黄泉が従っていた。彼らには、地の四分の一を支配する権威、および、つるぎと、ききんと、死と、地の獣らとによって人を殺す権威とが、与えられた。
6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
6:9 小羊が第五の封印を解いた時、紙の言ゆえに、また、そのあかしを立てたために、殺された人々の霊魂が、祭壇の下にいるのを、わたしは見た。
6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word (o. logos) of God, and for the testimony which they held:
6:10 彼らは大声で叫んで言った、「聖なる、まことなる主よ。いつまでもあなたは、さばくことをなさらず、また地に住む者に対して、わたしたちの血の報復をなさらないのですか」。
6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
6:11 すると、彼らのひとりびとりに白い衣が与えられ、それから、「彼らと同じく殺されようとする僕仲間や兄弟たちの数が満ちるまで、もうしばらくの間、休んでいるように」と言い渡された。
6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
6:12 小羊が第六の封印を解いた時、わたしが見ていると、大地震が起って、太陽は毛織の荒布のように黒くなり、月は全面、血のようになり、
6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
6:13 天の星は、いちじくのまだ青い実が大風に揺られて振り落とされるように、地に落ちた。
6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
6:14 天は巻物が巻かれるように消えてゆき、すべての山と鳥とはその場所から移されてしまった。
6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
6:15 地の王たち、高官、千卒長、富める者、勇者、奴隷、自由人らはみな、ほら穴や山の岩かげに、身をかくした。
6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
6:16 そして、山と岩とにむかって言った、「さあ、われわれをおおって、御座にいますかたの御顔と小羊の怒りとから、かまってくれ。
6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
6:17 御怒りの大いなる日が、すでにきたのだ。だれが、その前に立つことができようか」。
6:17 For the great day of his wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?
7:1 この後、わたしは四人の御使が地の四すみに立っているのを見た。彼らは地の四方の風をひき止めて、地にも海にもすべての木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。
7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
7:2 また、もうひとりの御使が、生ける神の印を持って、日の出る方から上って来るのを見た。彼は地と海とをそこなう権威を授かっている四人の御使にむかって、大声で叫んで言った、
7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
7:3 「わたしたちの神の僕らの額に、わたしたちが印をおしてしまうまでは、地と海と木とをそこなってはならない」。
7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
7:4 わたしは印をおされた者の数を聞いたが、イスラエルの子らのすべての部族のうち、印をおされた者は十四万四千人であった。
7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
7:5 ユダの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされた、ルベンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ガドの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7:5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
7:6 アセルの部族のうち、一万二千人、ナフタリの部族のうち、一万二千人、マナセの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7:6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7:7 シメオンの部族のうち、一万二千人、レビの部族のうち、一万二千人、イサカルの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7:7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
7:8 セブルンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ヨセフの部族のうち、一万二千人、ベニヤミンの部族のうち、一万二千人が印を恐れた。
7:8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
7:9 その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ。あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、数えきれないほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を身にまとい、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立ち、
7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and families, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
7:10 大声で叫んで言った、「救は、御座にいますわれらの神と小羊からきたる」。
7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
7:11 御使たちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物とのまわりに立っていたが、御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して言った。
7:11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
7:12 「アァメン、さんび、栄光、知恵、感謝、ほまれ、力、勢いが、世々限りなく、われらの神にあるように、アァメン。
7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
7:13 長老たちのひとりが、わたしに向かって言った、「この白い衣を身にまとっている人々は、だれか、また、どこからきたのか」。
7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
7:14 わたしは彼に答えた、「わたしの主よ、それはあなたがご存じです」。すると、彼はわたしに言った、「彼らは大きな患難をとおってきた人たちであって、その衣を小羊の血で洗い、それを白くしたのである。
7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
7:15 それだから彼らは、神の御座の前におり、昼も夜もその聖所で神に仕えているのである。御座にいますかたは、彼らの上に幕屋を張って共に住まわれるであろう。
7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.
7:16 彼らは、もはや飢えることがなく、かわくこともない。太陽も炎暑も、彼らを侵すことがない。
7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
7:17 御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。
7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
8:1 小羊が第七の封印を解いたとき、半時間ばかり天に静けさがあった。
8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
8:2 それからわたしは、神のみまえに立っている七人の御使を見た。そして、七つのラッパが彼らに与えられた。
8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
8:3 また、別の御使が出てきて、金の香炉を手に持って祭壇の前に立った。たくさんの香が彼に与えられていたが、これは、すべての聖徒の祈に加えて、御座の前の金の祭壇の上にささげるためのものであった。
8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
8:4 香の煙は、御使の手から、聖徒たちの祈と共に神のみまえに立ちのぼった。
8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
8:5 御使はその香炉をとり、これに祭壇の火を満たして、地に投げつけた。すると、多くの雷鳴と、もろもろの声と、いなずまと、地震とが起こった。
8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
8:6 そこで、七つのラッパを持っている七人の御使が、それを吹く用意をした。
8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
8:7 第一の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、血のまじった雹と火とがあらわれて、地上に降ってきた。そして、地の三分の一が焼け、木の三分の一が焼け、また、すべての青草も焼けてしまった。
8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
8:8 第二の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、火の燃えさかっている大きな山のようなものが、海に投げ込まれた。そして、海の三分の一は血となり、
8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
8:9 海の中の造られた生き物の三分の一は死に、船の三分の一はこわされてしまった。
8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
8:10 第三の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、たいまつのように燃えている大きな星が、空から落ちてきてた。そしてそれは、川の三分の一とその水源との上に落ちた。
8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
8:11 この星の名は「苦よごみ」と言い。水の三分の一が、「苦よごみ」のように苦くなった。水が苦くなったので、そのために多くの人が死んだ
8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
8:12 第四の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、太陽の三分の一と、月の三分の一と、星の三分の一とが打たれて、これらのものの三分の一は暗くなり、昼の三分の一は明るくなり、夜も同じようになった。
8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
8:13 また、わたしが見ていると、一羽のわしが中空を飛び、大きな声でこう言うのを聞いた、「ああ、わざわいだ、わざわいだ、地に住む人々は、わざわいだ。なお三人の御使がラッパを吹き鳴らそうとしている」。
8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the citizens of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
9:1 第五の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。するとわたしは、一つの星が天から地に落ちて来るのを見た。この星に、底知れぬ所の穴を開くかぎが与えられた。
9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
9:2 そして、この底知れぬ所の穴が開かれた。すると、その穴から煙が大きな炉の煙のように立ちのぼり、その穴の煙で、太陽も空気も暗くなった。
9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
9:3 その煙の中から、いなごが地上に出てきたが、地のさそりが持っているような力が、彼らに与えられた。
9:3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
9:4 彼らは、地の草やすべての青草を、またすべての木をそこなってはならないが、額に神の印がない人たちには害を加えてもようと、言い渡された。
9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
9:5 彼らは、人間を殺すことはしないで、五か月のあいだ苦しめることだけが許された。彼らの与える苦痛は、人がさそりにさされる時のような苦痛であった。
9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.
9:6 その時には、人々は死を求めても与えられず、死にたいと願っても、死は逃げて行くのである。
9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
9:7 これらのいなごは、出陣の用意のととのえられた馬によく似ており、その頭には金の冠のようなものをつけ、その顔は人間の顔のようであり、
9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
9:8 また、そのかみの毛は女のかみのようであり、その歯はししの歯のようであった。
9:8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9:9 また、鉄の胸当てのようなものをつけており、その羽の音は、馬に引かれて戦場に急ぐ多くの戦車の響きのようであった。
9:9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
9:10 その上、さそりのような尾と針とを持っている。その尾には、五か月のあいだ人間をそこなう力がある。
9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
9:11 彼らは、底知れぬ所の使いを王にいただたており、その名を、ヘブル語でアバドンと言い、ギリシャ語ではアポルオンと言う。
9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue has his name Apollyon.
9:12 第一のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、この後、なお二つのわざわいが来る。
9:12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
9:13 第六の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、一つの声が、神のみまえにある金の祭壇の四つの角から出て、
9:13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
9:14 ラッパを持っている第六の御使にこう呼びかけるのを、わたしは聞いた。「大ユウフラテ川のほとりにつながれている四人の御使を、解いてやれ」。
9:14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
9:15 すると、その時、その日、その月、その年に備えておかれた四人の御使が、人間の三分の一を殺すために、解き放された。
9:15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, in order to slay the third part of men.
9:16 騎兵隊の数は二億であった。わたしはその数を聞いた。
9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
9:17 そして、まぼろしの中で、それらの馬とそれに乗っている者たちとを見ると、乗っている者たちは、火の色と青玉色と硫黄の色の胸当てをつけていた。そして、それらの馬の頭はししの頭のようであって、その口から火と煙と硫黄とが、出ていた。
9:17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
9:18 この三つの災害、すなわち、彼らの口から出て来る火と煙と硫黄とによって、人間の三分の一は殺されてしまった。
9:18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
9:19 馬の力はその口と尾とにある。その尾はへびに似ていて、それに頭があり、その頭で人に害を加えるのである。
9:19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
9:20 これらの災害で殺されずに残った人々は、自分の手で造ったものについて、悔い改めようとせず、また悪霊のたぐいや、金、銀、銅、石、木で造られ、見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできない偶像を礼拝して、やめようともしなかった。
9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
9:21 また、彼らは、その犯した殺人や、まじないや、不品行や、盗みを悔い改めようとしなかった。
9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
10:1 わたしは、もうひとりの強い御使が、雲に包まれて、天から降りてくるのを見た。その頭に、にじをいただき、その顔は太陽のようで、その足は火の柱のようであった。
10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
10:2 彼は、開かれた小さな巻物を手に持っていた。そして、右足を海の上に、左足を地の上に踏みおろして、
10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
10:3 ししがほえるように大声で叫んだ。彼が叫ぶと、七つの雷がおのおの声を発した。
10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
10:4 七つの雷が声を発した時、わたしかはそれを書きとめようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷の語ったことを封印せよ。それを書きとめるな」と言うのを聞いた。
10:4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
10:5 それから、海と地の上に立っているのをわたしが見たあの御使は、天にむけて右手をあげ、
10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
10:6 天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを造り、世々限りなく生きておられるかたをさして誓った、「もう時がない。
10:6 And swore by him that lives for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
10:7 第七の御使が吹き鳴らすラッパの音がする時には、神がその僕、預言者たちにお告げになったとおり、神の奥義は成就される」。
10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he has declared to his servants the prophets.
10:8 すると、前に天から聞こえた声が、またわたしに語って言った、「さあ行って、海と地との上に立っている御使の手で開かれている巻物を、受け取りなさい」。
10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spoke unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which stands upon the sea and upon the earth.
10:9 そこで、わたしはそり御使のもとに行って、「その小さな巻物を下さい」と言った。すると、彼は言った、「取って、それを食べてしまいなさい。あなたの腹には苦いが、口には蜜のように甘い」。
10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make your belly bitter, but it shall be in your mouth sweet as honey.
10:10 わたしは御使の手からその小さな巻物を受け取って食べてしまった。すると、わたしの口には蜜のように甘かったが、それを食べたら、腹が苦くなった。
10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
10:11 その時、「あなたは、もう一度、多くの民族、国民、国語、王たちについて、預言せねばならない」と言う声がした。
10:11 And he said unto me, You must prophesy again before many races and tribes, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
11:1 それから、わたしはつえのような測りざおを与えられて、こう命じられた、「さあ立って、神の聖所と祭壇と、そこで礼拝している人々とを、測りなさい。
11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
11:2 聖所の外の庭はそのままにしておきなさい。それを測ってはならない。そこは異邦人に与えられたところだから。彼らは、四十二か月の間この聖なる都を踏みにじるであろう。
11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
11:3 そしてわたしは、わたしのふたりの証人に、荒布を着て、千二百六十日のあいだ預言をすることを許そう」。
11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
11:4 彼らは、全地の主のみまえに立っている二本のオリブの木、また、二つの燭台である。もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、彼らの口から火が出て、その敵を滅ぼすであろう。
11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
11:5 もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、その者はこのように殺されねばならない。
11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
11:6 預言をしている期間、彼らは、天を閉じて雨を降らせないようにする力を持っている。さらにまた、水を血に変え、何度でも思うままに、あらゆる災害で地を打つ力を持っている。
11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
11:7 そして、彼らがそのあかしを終えると、底知れぬ所からのぼってくる獣が、彼らと戦って打ち勝ち、彼らを殺す。
11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
11:8 彼らの死体はソドムや、エジプトにたとえられている大いなる都の大通りにさらされる。彼らの主も、この都で十字架につけられたのである。
11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
11:9 いろいろな民族、部族、国語、国民に属する人々が、三日半の間、彼らの死体をながめるが、その死体を墓に納めることは許されない。
11:9 And they of the people and families and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
11:10 地に住む人々は、彼らのことで喜び楽しみ、互に贈り物をしあう。このふたりの預言者は、地に住む者たちを悩ましたからである。
11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11:11 三日半の後、いのちの息が、神から出て彼らの中にはいり、そして、彼らが立ち上がったので、それを見た人々は非常な恐怖に襲われた。
11:11 And after three days and an half the spirit (o. pneuma) of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
11:12 その時、天から大きな声がして、「ここに上ってきなさい」と言うのを、彼らは聞いた。そして、彼らは雲に乗って天に上った。彼らの敵はそれを見た。
11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
11:13 この時、大地震が起こって、都の十分の一は倒れ、その地震で七千人が死に、生き残った人々は驚き恐れて、天の神に栄光を帰した。
11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
11:14 第二のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、第三のわざわいがすぐに来る。
11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe comes quickly.
11:15 第七の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、大きな声々が天に起こって言った、「この世の国は、われらの主とそのキリストとの国となった。主は世々限りなく支配なさるであろう」。
11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
11:16 そして、神のみまえで座についている二十四人の長老は、ひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
11:16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
11:17 「今いまし、昔いませる、全能者にして主なる神よ。大いなる御力をふるって支配なさったことを、感謝します。
11:17 Saying, We give you thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which are, and were, and are to come; because you have taken to you your great power, and have reigned.
11:18 諸国民は怒り狂いましたが、あなたも怒りをあらわされました。そして、死人をさばき、あなたの僕なる預言者、聖徒、小さき者も、大いなる者も、すべて御名をおそれる者たちに報いを与え、また、地を滅ぼす者どもを滅ぼして下さる時がきました」。
11:18 And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward unto your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear your name, small and great; and should destroy them which destroy the earth.
11:19 そして、天にある神の聖所が開けて、聖所の中に契約の箱が見えた。また、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴と、地震とが起り、大粒の雹が降った。
11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
12:1 また、大いなるしるしが天に現れた。一人の女が太陽を着て、足の下に月を踏み、その頭に十二の星の冠をかぶっていた。
12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
12:2 この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
12:3 また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
12:4 その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地になげ落とした。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前にたち、生まれたなら、その子を食い尽くそうとかまえていた。
12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, in order to devour her child as soon as it was born.
12:5 女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
12:5 And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
12:6 女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。
12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
12:7 さて、天では戦いが起こった。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使いたちも応戦したが、
12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
12:8 勝てなかった。そして、もはや天には彼らのおる所がなくなった。
12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
12:9 この巨大な龍、すなわち、悪魔とか、サタンとか呼ばれ、全世界を惑わす年を経たへびは、地に投げ落とされ、その使いたちも、もろともに投げ落とされた。
12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
12:10 その時わたしは、大きな声が天でこう言うのを聞いた、「今や、われらの神の救と力と国と、神のキリストの権威とは、現れた。われらの兄弟らを訴える者、夜昼われらの神のみまえで彼らを訴える者は、投げ落とされた。
12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now has come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
12:11 兄弟たちは、小羊の血と彼らのあかしの言葉とによって、彼にうち勝ち、死に至るまでもそのいのちを惜しまなかった。
12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word (o. logos) of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12:12 それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ。おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。
12:12 Therefore rejoice, all of you heavens, and all of you that dwell in them. Woe to the citizens of the earth and of the sea! for the devil has come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.
12:13 龍は、自分が地上に投げ落とされたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。
12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the male child.
12:14 しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。
12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
12:15 へびは女の後ろに水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。
12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
12:16 しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
12:17 龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。
12:18 そして、海の砂の上に立った。
12:17 And the dragon was angry with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
13:1 わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた。
13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
13:2 わたしの見たこの獣ひょうに似ており、その足はくまのようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
13:3 その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人人は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
13:4 また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
13:5 この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
13:6 そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
13:7 そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威が与えられた。
13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all families, and tongues, and nations.
13:8 地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
13:9 耳のある者は、聞くがよい。とりこになるべき者は、
13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
13:10 とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とがある。
13:10 He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
13:11 わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.
13:12 そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
13:12 And he execises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13:13 また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
13:13 And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
13:14 さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
13:14 And deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
13:15 それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
13:15 And he had power to give life (o. pneuma) unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
13:16 また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。
13:16 And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
13:17 この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
13:18 ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮ある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。
13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
14:1 なお、わたしが見ていると、見よ、小羊がシオンの山に立っていた。また、十四万四千人の人人が小羊と共におりその額に小羊の名とその父の名とが書かれていた。
14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
14:2 またわたしは、大水のとどろきのよう、激しい雷鳴のような声が、天から出るのを聞いた。わたしの聞いたその声は、琴をひく人が立琴をひく音のようでもあった。
14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
14:3 彼らは、御座の前、四つの生き物と長老たちの前で、新しい歌を歌った。この歌は、地からあがなわれた十四万四千人のほかは、だれも学ぶことができなかった。
14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
14:4 彼らは、女にふれたことのない者である。彼らは、純潔な者である。そして、小羊の行く所へは、どこえでもついて行く。彼らは、神と小羊とにささげられる初穂として、人間の中からあがなわれた者である。
14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb anywhere he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto God and to the Lamb.
14:5 彼らの口には偽りがなく、彼らは傷のない者であった。
14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
14:6 わたしは、もう一人の御使が中空を飛ぶのを見た。彼は地に住む者、すなわち、あらゆる国民、部族、国語、民族に宣べ伝えるために、永遠の福音をたずさえてきて、
14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
14:7 大声で言った、「神をおそれ、神に栄光を帰せよ。神のさばきの時がきたからである。天と地と海と水の源を造られたかたを、伏し拝め」。
14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment has come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
14:8 また、ほかの第二の御使が、続いてきて言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。その不品行に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を、あらゆる国民に飲ませた者」。
14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
14:9 ほかの第三の御使が彼らに続いてきて、大声で言った、「おおよそ、獣とその像とを拝み、額や手に刻印を受ける者は、
14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
14:10 神の怒りの杯に混ぜものなしに盛られた、神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、聖なる御使たちと小羊との前で、火と硫黄とで苦しめられる。
14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11 その苦しみの煙は世々限りなく立ちのぼり、そして、獣とその像とを拝む者、また、だれでもその名の刻印を受けている者は、昼も夜も休みが得られない。
14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.
14:12 ここに、神の戒めを守り、イエスを信じる信仰を持ちつづける聖徒の忍耐がある」。
14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
14:13 またわたしは、天からの声がこう言うのを聞いた、「書きしるせ、『今から後、主にあって死ぬ死人はさいわいである』」。御霊も言う、「しかり、彼らはその労苦を解かれて休み、そのわざは彼らについていく」。
14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, says the Spirit, (o. pneuma) that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
14:14 また見ていると、見よ。白い雲があって、その雲の上に人の子のような者が座しており、頭には金の冠をいただき、手には鋭いかまを持っていた。
14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
14:15 すると、もうひとりの御使が聖所から出てきて、雲の上に座している者に向かって大声で叫んだ、「かまを入れて刈り取りなさい。地の穀物は全く実り、刈り取るべき時がきた」。
14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in your sickle, and reap: for the time has come for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
14:16 雲の上に座している者は、そのかまを地に投げ入れた。すると、地のものが刈り取られた。
14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
14:17 また、もうひとりの御使が、天の聖所から出てきたが、彼もまた鋭いかまを持っていた。
14:17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
14:18 さらに、もうひとりの御使で、火を支配する権威を持っている者が、祭壇から出てきて、鋭いかまを持つ御使にむかい、大声で言った、「その鋭いかまを地に入れて、地のぶどうのふさを刈り集めなさい。ぶどうの実がすでに熟しているから」。
14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
14:19 そこで、御使はそのかまを地に投げ入れて、地のぶどうを刈り集め、神の激しい怒りの酒ぶねに投げ込んだ。
14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
14:20 そして、その酒ぶねが都の外で踏まれた。すると、血が酒ぶねから流れ出て、馬のくつわにとどくほどになり、一千六百丁にわたってひろがった。
14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
15:1 またわたしは、天に大いなる驚くべきほかのしるしを見た。七人の御使が、最後の七つの災害を携えていた。これらの災害で神の激しい怒りがその頂点に達するのである。
15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
15:2 またわたしは、火のまじったガラスの海のようなものを見た。そして、このガラスの海のそばに、獣とその像とその名の数字とにうち勝った人々が、神の立琴を手にして立っているのを見た。
15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had got the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
15:3 彼らは、神の僕モーセの歌と小羊の歌とを歌って言った、「全能者にして主なる神よ。大いなる、また驚くべきものであります。万民の王よ、あなたの道は正しく、かつ真実であります。
15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints.
15:4 主よ、あなたをおそれず、御名をほめたたえない者が、ありましょうか。あなただけが聖なるかたであり、あらゆる国民はきて、あなたを伏し拝むでしょう。あなたの正しいさばきが、あらわれるに至ったからであります」。
15:4 Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you only are holy: for all nations shall come and worship before you; for your judgments are made manifest.
15:5 その後、わたしが見ていると、天にある、あかしの幕屋の聖所が開かれ、
15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
15:6 その聖所から、七つの災害を携えている七人の御使が、汚れのない、光り輝く亜麻布を身にまとい、金の帯を胸にしめて、出てきた。
15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
15:7 そして、四つの生き物の一つが、世々限りなく生きておられる神の激しい怒りの満ちた七つの金の鉢を、七人の御使に渡した。
15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.
15:8 すると、聖所は神の栄光とその力から立ちのぼる煙で満たされ、七人の御使の七つの災害が終っていまうまでは、だれも聖所にはいることができなかった。
15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
16:1 それから、大きな声が聖所から出て、七人の御使にむかい、「さあ行って、神の激しい怒りの七つの鉢を、地に傾けよ」と言うのを聞いた。
16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
16:2 そして、第一の者が出て行って、その鉢を地に傾けた。すると、獣の刻印を持つ人々と、その像を拝む人々とのからだがに、ひどい悪性のでき物ができた。
16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a dangerous and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
16:3 第二の者が、その鉢を海に傾けた。すると、海は死人の血のようになって、その中の生き物がみな死んでしまった。
16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
16:4 第三の者がその鉢を川と水の源とに傾けた。すると、みな血になった。
16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
16:5 それから、水をつかさどる御使がこう言うのを、聞いた、「今いまし、昔いませる聖なる者よ。このようにお定めになったあなたは、正しいかたであります。
16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous, O Lord, which are, and were, and shall be, because you have judged thus.
16:6 聖徒と預言者との血を流した者たちに、血をお飲ませになりましたが、それは当然のことであります」。
16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
16:7 わたしはまた祭壇がこう言うのを聞いた、「全能者にして主なる神よ。しかり、あなたのさばきは真実で、かつ正しいさばきであります」。
16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.
16:8 第四の者が、その鉢を太陽に傾けた。すると、太陽は火で人々を焼くことを許された。
16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
16:9 人々は、激しい炎熱で焼かれたが、これらの災害を支配する神の御名を汚し、悔い改めに神に栄光を帰すことをしなかった。
16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which has power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
16:10 第五の者が、その鉢を獣の座に傾けた。すると、獣の国は暗くなり、人々は苦痛のあまり舌をかみ、
16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
16:11 その苦痛とでき物とのゆえに、天の神をのろった。そして、自分の行いを悔い改めなかった。
16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
16:12 第六の者が、その鉢を大ユウフラテ川に傾けた。すると、その水は、日の出る方から来る王たちに対し道を備えるために、かれてしまった。
16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
16:13 また見ると、龍の口から、獣の口から、にせ預言者の口から、かえるのような三つの汚れた霊が出てきた。
16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits (o. pneuma) like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
16:14 これらは、しるしを行う悪霊の霊であって、全世界の王たちのところに行き、彼らを召集したが、それは、全能なる神の大いなる日に、戦いをするためであった。
16:14 For they are the spirits (o. pneuma) of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
16:15 （見よ、わたしは盗人のように来る。裸のままで歩かないように、また、裸の恥を見られないように、目をさまし着物を身につけている者は、さいわいである。）
16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16:16 三つの霊は、ヘブル語でハルマゲドンという所に、王たちを召集した。
16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
16:17 第七の者が、その鉢を空中に傾けた。すると、大きな声が聖所の中から、御座から出て、「事はすでに成った」と言った。
16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
16:18 すると、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが起こり、また激しい地震があった。それは人間が地上にあらわれて以来、かつてなかったようなもので、それほどに激しい地震であった。
16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
16:19 大いなる都は三つに裂かれ、諸国民の町々は倒れた。神は大いなるバビロンを思い起こし、これに神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒の杯を与えられた。
16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
16:20 島々はみな逃げ去り、山々は見えなくなった。
16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
16:21 また一タラントの重さほどの雹が、天から人々の上に降ってきた。人々は、この雹の災害のゆえに神をのろった。その災害が、非常に大きかったからである。
16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
17:1 それから、七つの鉢を持つ七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。多くの水の上にすわっている大淫婦に対するさばきを、見せよう。
17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come here; I will show unto you the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters:
17:2 地の王たちはこの女と姦淫を行い、地に住む人々はこの女の姦淫のぶどう酒によいしれている」。
17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
17:3 御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、荒野へ連れて行った。わたしは、そこでひとりの女が赤い獣に乗っているのを見た。その獣は神を汚すかずかずの名でおおわれ、また、それに七つの頭と十の角とがあった。
17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit (o. pneuma) into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
17:4 この女は紫と赤の衣をまとい、金と宝石と真珠とで身を飾り、憎むべきものと自分の姦淫の汚れとで満ちている金の杯を手に持ち、
17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
17:5 その額には、一つの名がしるされていた。それは奥義であって、「大いなるバビロン、淫婦どもと地の憎むべきものらとの母」というのであった。
17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
17:6 わたしは、この女が聖徒の血とイエスの証人の血に酔いしれているのを見た。この女を見た時、わたしは非常に驚きあやしんだ。
17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
17:7 すると、御使はわたしに言った、「なぜそんなに驚くのか。この女の奥義と、女を乗せている七つの頭と十の角のある獣の奥義とを、話してあげよう。
17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns.
17:8 あなたの見た獣は、昔はいたが、今はおらず、そして、やがて底知れぬ所から上ってきて、ついには滅びに至るものである。地に住む者のうち、世の初めからいのちの書に名がしるされていない者たちは、この獣が、昔はいたが今はおらず、やがて来るのを見て、驚きあやしむであろう。
17:8 The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
17:9 ここに、知恵のある心が必要である。七つの頭は、この女のすわっている七つの山であり、また、七人の王のことである。
17:9 And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.
17:10 そのうちの五人はすでに倒れ、ひとりは今おり、もうひとりは、まだきていない。それが来れば、しばらくの間だけおることになっている。
17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space.
17:11 昔はいたが今はいないという獣は、すなわちヨハネの黙示録 第八のものであるが、またそれは、かの七人の中のひとりであって、ついには滅びに至るものである。
17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition.
17:12 あなたの見た十の角は、十人の王のことであって、彼らはまだ国を受けてはいないが、獣と共に、一時だけ王としての権威を受ける。
17:12 And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
17:13 彼らは心をひとつにしている。そして、自分たちの力と権威とを獣に与える。
17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
17:14 彼らは小羊に戦いをいどんでくるが、小羊は、主の主、王の王であるから、彼らにうち勝つ。また、小羊と共にいる召された、選ばれた、忠実な者たちも、勝利を得る」。
17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
17:15 御使はまた、わたしに言った、「あなたの見た水、すなわち、淫婦のすわっている所は、あらゆる民族、群衆、国民、国語である。
17:15 And he says unto me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are races and tribes, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
17:16 あなたの見た十の角と獣とは、この淫婦を憎み、みじめな者にし、裸にし、彼女の肉を食い、火で焼き尽くすであろう。
17:16 And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17:17 神は、御言が成就する時まで、彼らの心の中に、御旨を行い、思いをひとつにし、彼らの支配権を獣に与える思いを持つようにされたからである。
17:17 For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words (o. rhema) of God shall be fulfilled.
17:18 あなたの見たかの女は、地の王たちを支配する大いなる都のことである」。
17:18 And the woman which you saw is that great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.
18:1 この後、わたしは、もうひとりの御使が、大いなる権威を持って、天から降りて来るのを見た。地は彼の栄光によって明るくされた。
18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
18:2 彼は力強い声で叫んで言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。そして、それは悪魔の住む所、あらゆる汚れた霊の巣くつ、また、あらゆる汚れた憎むべき鳥の巣くつとなった。
18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, (o. pneuma) and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
18:3 すべての国民は、彼女の姦淫に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、地の王たちは彼女と姦淫を行い、地上の商人たちは、彼女の極度のぜいたくによって富を得たからである」。
18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
18:4 わたしはまた、もうひとつの声が天からでるのを聞いた、「わたしの民よ。彼女から離れ去って、その罪にあずからないようにし、その災害に巻き込まれないようにせよ。
18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that all of you be not partakers of her sins, and that all of you receive not of her plagues.
18:5 彼女の罪は積もり積もって天に達しており、神はその不義の行いを覚えておられる。
18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
18:6 彼女がしたとおりに彼女にし返し、そのしわざに応じて二倍に報復をし、彼女が混ぜいれた杯の中に、その倍の量を、入れてやれ。
18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she has filled fill to her double.
18:7 彼女が自ら高ぶり、ぜいたくをほしいままにしたので、それに対して、同じほどの苦しみと悲しみとを味わわせてやれ。彼女は心の中で、『わたしは女王の位についている者であって、やもめではないのだから、悲しみを知らない』と言っている。
18:7 How much she has glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
18:8 それゆえ、さまざまの災害が、死と悲しみとききんとが、一日のうちに彼女を襲い、そして、彼女は火で焼かれてしまう。彼女をさばく主なる神は、力強いかたなのである。
18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
18:9 彼女と姦淫を行い、ぜいたくをほしいままにしていた地の王たちは、彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、彼女のために胸を打って泣き悲しみ、
18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall mourn for her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
18:10 彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだき、遠くに立って言うであろう、『ああ、わざわいだ、大いなる都、不落の都、バビロンは、わざわいだ。おまえに対するさばきは、一瞬にしてきた』。
18:10 Standing far off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is your judgment come.
18:11 また、地の商人たちも彼女のために泣き悲しむ。もはや、彼らの商品を買う者が、ひとりもないからである。
18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their merchandise any more:
18:12 その商品は、金、銀、宝石、真珠、麻布、紫布、絹、緋布、各種の香木、各種の象牙細工、高価な木材、銅、鉄、大理石などの器、
18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
18:13 肉桂、香料、香、におい油、乳香、ぶどう酒、オリブ油、麦粉、麦、牛、羊、馬、車、奴隷、そして人身などである。
18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
18:14 おまえの心の喜びであったくだものはなくなり、あらゆるはでな、はなやかな物はおまえから消え去った。それらのものはもはや見られない。
18:14 And the fruits that your soul lusted after are departed from you, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from you, and you shall find them no more at all.
18:15 これらの品々を売って、彼女から富を得た商人は、彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだいて遠くに立ち、泣き悲しんで言う、
18:15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand far off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
18:16 『ああ、わざわいだ、麻布と紫布と緋布をまとい、金や宝石や真珠で身を飾っていた大いなる都は、わざわいだ。
18:16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
18:17 これほどの富が、一瞬にして無に帰してしまうとは』。また、すべての船長、航海者、水夫、すべて海で働いている人たちは、遠くに立ち、
18:17 For in one hour so great riches has come to nothing. And every ship captain, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood far off,
18:18 彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、叫んで言う、『これほどの大いなる都は、どこにあろう』。
18:18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
18:19 彼らは頭にちりをかぶり、泣き悲しんで叫ぶ、『ああ、わざわいだ、この大いなる都は、わざわいだ。そのおごりによって、海に船を持つすべての人が富を得ていたのに、この都も一瞬にして無に帰してしまった』。
18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
18:20 天よ、聖徒たちよ、使徒たちよ、預言者たちよ。この都について大いに喜べ。神は、あなたがたのために、この都をさばかれたのである」。
18:20 Rejoice over her, you heaven, and all of you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.
18:21 すると、ひとりの力強い御使が、大きなひきうすのような石を持ちあげ、それを海に投げ込んで言った、「大いなる都バビロンは、このように激しく打ち倒され、そして、まったく姿を消してしまう。
18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
18:22 また、おまえの中では、立琴をひく者、歌を歌う者、笛を吹く者、ラッパを吹き鳴らす者の楽の音は全く聞かれず、あらゆる仕事の職人たちも全く姿を消し、また、ひきうすの音も、全く聞かれない。
18:22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in you; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in you; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in you;
18:23 また、おまえの中では、あかりもともされず、花婿、花嫁の声も聞かれない。というのは、おまえの商人たちは地上で勢力を張る者となり、すべての国民はおまえのまじないでだまされ、
18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in you; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you: for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all nations deceived.
18:24 また、預言者や聖徒の血、さらに、地上で殺されたすべての者の血が、この都で流されたからである」。
18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
19:1 この後、わたしは天の大群衆が大声で唱えるような声を聞いた、「ハレルヤ、救と栄光と力とは、われわれの神のものであり、
19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
19:2 そのさばきは、真実で正しい。神は、姦淫で地を汚した大淫婦をさばき、神の僕たちの血の報復を彼女になさったのである」。
19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
19:3 再び声があって、「ハレルヤ、彼女が焼かれる火の煙は、世々限りなく立ちのぼる」と言った。
19:3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
19:4 すると、二十四人の長老と四つの生き物とがひれ伏し、御座にいます神を拝して言った、「アァメン、ハレルヤ」。
19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
19:5 その時、御座から声が出て言った、「すべての神の僕たちよ、神をおそれる者たちよ。小さき者も大いなる者も、ともに、われらの神をさんびせよ」。
19:5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and all of you that fear him, both small and great.
19:6 わたしはまた、大群衆の声、多くの水の音、また激しい雷鳴のようなものを聞いた。それはこう言った、「ハレルヤ、全能者にして主なるわれらの神は、王なる支配者であられる。
19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.
19:7 わたしたちは喜び楽しみ、神をあがめまつろう。小羊の婚姻の時がきて、花嫁はその用意をしたからである。
19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.
19:8 彼女は、光り輝く、汚れのない麻布の衣を着ることを許された。この麻布の衣は、聖徒たちの正しい行いである」。
19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
19:9 それから、御使はわたしに言った、「書きしるせ。小羊の婚宴に招かれたものは、さいわいである」。またわたしに言った、「これらは、神の真実の言葉である」。
19:9 And he says unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he says unto me, These are the true sayings (o. logos) of God.
19:10 そこで、わたしは彼の足元にひれ伏して、彼を拝そうとした。すると、彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたと同じ僕仲間であり、またイエスのあかしびとであるあなたの兄弟たちと同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい。イエスのあかしは、すなわち預言の霊である」。
19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit (o. pneuma) of prophecy.
19:11 またわたしが見ていると、天が開かれ、見よ、そこに白い馬がいた。それに乗っているかたは、「忠実で真実な者」と呼ばれ、義によってさばき、また、戦うかたである。
19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.
19:12 その目は燃える炎であり、その頭には多くの冠があった。また、彼以外にはだれも知らない名がその身にしるされていた。
19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
19:13 彼は血染めの衣をまとい、その名は「神の言」と呼ばれた。
19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word (o. logos) of God.
19:14 そして、天の軍勢が、純白で、汚れのない麻布の衣をきて、白い馬に乗り、彼に従った。
19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
19:15 その口からは、諸国民を打つために、鋭いつるぎが出ていた。彼は、鉄のつえをもって諸国民を治め、また、全能者なる神の激しい怒りの酒ぶねを踏む。
19:15 And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should strike the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
19:16 その着物にも、そのももにも、「王の王、主の主」という名がしるされていた。
19:16 And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
19:17 また見ていると、ひとりの御使が太陽の中に立っていた。彼は、中空を飛んでいるすべての鳥にむかって大声で叫んだ、「さあ、神の大宴会に集まってこい。
19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
19:18 そして、王たちの肉、将軍の肉、勇者の肉、馬の肉、馬に乗っている者の肉、また、すべての自由人と奴隷との肉、小さき者と大いなる者との肉をくらえ」。
19:18 That all of you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19:19 なお見ていると、獣と地の王たちと彼らの軍勢とが集まり、馬に乗っているかたとその軍勢とに対して、戦いをいどんだ。
19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
19:20 しかし、獣は捕らえられ、また、この獣の前でしるしを行って、獣の刻印を受けた者とその像を拝む者とを惑わしたにせ預言者も、獣と共に捕らえられた。そして、この両者とも、生きながら、硫黄の燃えている火の池に投げ込まれた。
19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
19:21 それ以外の者たちは、馬に乗っておられるかたの口から出るつるぎで切り殺され、その肉を、すべての鳥が飽きるまで食べた。
19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
20:1 またわたしが見ていると、ひとりの御使が、底知れぬ所のかぎと大きな鎖とを手にもって、天から降りてきた。彼は、
20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
20:2 悪魔でありサタンである龍、すなわち、かの年を経たへびを捕らえて千年の間つなぎおき、
20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
20:3 そして、底知れぬ所に投げ込み、入口を閉じてその上に封印し、千年の期間が終わるまで、諸国民を惑わすことがないようにしておいた。その後、しばらくの間だけ解放されることになっていた。
20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
20:4 また見ていると、かず多くの座があり、その上に人人がすわっていた。そして、彼らにさばきの権が与えられていた。また、イエスのあかしをし神の言を伝えたために首を切られた人々の霊がそこにおり、また、獣をもその像おも拝まず、その刻印を額や手に受けることをしなかった人々がいた。彼らは生きかえって、キリストと共に千の間、支配した。
20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word (o. logos) of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
20:5 （それ以外の死人は、千年の期間が終わるまで生きかえらなかった。）これが第一の復活である。
20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
20:6 この第一の復活にあずかる者は、さいわいな者であり、また聖なる者である。この人たちに対しては、第二の死はなんの力もない。彼らは神とキリストとの祭司となり、キリストと共に千年の間、支配する。
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
20:7 千年の期間が終わると、サタンはその獄から解放される。
20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
20:8 そして、出て行き、地の四方にいる諸国民、すなわちゴク、マゴクを惑わし、彼らを戦いのために召集する。その数は、海の砂のように多い。
20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
20:9 彼らは地上の広いところに上ってきて、聖徒たちの陣営と愛されていた都とを包囲した。すると、天から火が下ってきて、彼らを焼き尽くした。
20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
20:10 そして、彼らを惑わした悪魔は、火と硫黄との池に投げ込まれた。そこには、獣もにせ預言者もいて、彼らは世々限りなく日夜、苦しめられるのである。
20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
20:11 また見ていると、大きな白い御座があり、そこにいますかたがあった。天も地も御顔の前から逃げ去って、あとかたもなくなった。
20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
20:12 また、死んでいた者が、大いなる者も小さき者も共に、御座の前に立っているのが見えた。かずかずの書物が開かれたが、もう一つの書物が開かれた。これはいのちの書であった。死人はそのしわざに応じ、この書物に書かれていることにしたがって、さばかれた。
20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
20:13 海はその中にいる死人を出し、そして、おのおのそのしわざに応じて、さばきを受けた。
20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
20:14 それから、死も黄泉も火の池に投げ込まれた。この火の池が第二の死である。
20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
20:15 このいのちの書に名がしるされていない者はみな、火の池に投げ込まれた。
20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
21:1 わたしはまた、新しい天とと新しい地とを見た。先の天と地とは消え去り、海もなくなってしまった。
21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
21:2 また、聖なる都、新しいエルサレムが、夫のために着飾った花嫁のように用意をととのえて、神のもとを出て、天から下ってくるのを見た。
21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
21:3 また、御座から大きな声が叫ぶのを聞いた、「見よ、神の幕屋が人と共にあり、神が人と共に住み、人は神の民となり、神自ら人と共にいまして、
21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
21:4 人の目から涙を全くぬぐいとって下さる。もはや、死もなく、悲しみも、叫びも、痛みもない。先のものが、すでに過ぎ去ったからである」。
21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
21:5 すると、御座にいますかたが言われた、「見よ、わたしはすべてのものを新たにする」。また言われた、「書きしるせ。これらの言葉は、信ずべきであり、まことである」。
21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words (o. logos) are true and faithful.
21:6 そして、わたしに仰せられた、「事はすでになった。わたしは、アルパでありオメガである。初めであり、終わりである。かわいている者には、いのちの水の泉から価なしに飲ませよう。
21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.
21:7 勝利を得る者は、これらのものを受け継ぐであろう。わたしは彼の神となり、彼はわたしの子となる。
21:7 He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
21:8 しかし、おくびょうな者、信じない者、忌むべき者、人殺し、姦淫を行う者、まじないをする者、偶像を拝む者、すべて偽りを言う者には、火と硫黄の燃えている池が、彼らの受くべき報いである。これが第二の死である」。
21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
21:9 最後の七つの災害が満ちている七つの鉢をもった七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。小羊の妻なる花嫁を見せよう」。
21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.
21:10 この御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、大きな高い山に連れて行き、聖徒エルサレムが、神の栄光のうちに、神のみもとを出て天から下ってくるのを見せてくれた。
21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit (o. pneuma) to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
21:11 その都の輝きは、高価な宝石のようであり、透明な壁玉のようであった。
21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
21:12 それには大きな、高い城壁があって、十二の門があり、それらの門には、十二の御使がおり、イスラエルの子らの十二の部族の名が、それに書いてあった。
21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
21:13 東に三つの門、北に三つの門、南に三つの門、西に三つの門があった。
21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
21:14 また都の城壁には十二の土台があり、それには小羊の十二使徒の十二の名が書いてあった。
21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
21:15 わたしに語っていた者は、都とその門と城壁とを測るために、金の測りざおを持っていた。
21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
21:16 都は方形であって、その長さと幅は同じである。彼がその測りざおで都を測ると、一万二千丁であった。長さと幅と高さとは、いずれも同じである。
21:16 And the city lies foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
21:17 また城壁を測ると、百四十四キュピトであった。これは人間の、すなわち、御使の尺度によるのである。
21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
21:18 城壁は壁玉で築かれ、都はすきとおったガラスのような純金で造られていた。
21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
21:19 都の城壁の土台は、さまざまな宝石で飾られていた。第一の土台は壁玉、第二はサファイヤ、第三はめのう、第四は緑玉、
21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
21:20 第五は縞めのう、第六は赤めのう、第七はかんらん石、第八は緑柱石、第九は黄玉石、第十はひすい、第十一は青玉、第十には紫水晶であった。
21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, ruby; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21:21 十二の門は十二の真珠であり、門はそれぞれ真珠で造られ、都の大通りには、透き通ったガラスのような純金であった。
21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
21:22 わたしは、この都の中には聖所を見なかった。全能者にして主なる神と小羊とが、その聖所なのである。
21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
21:23 都は、日や月がそれを照す必要がない。神の栄光が都を明るくし、小羊が都の明かりだからである。
21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
21:24 諸国民は都の光の中を歩き、地の王たちは、自分たちの栄光をそこに携えて来る。
21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
21:25 都の門は、終日、閉ざされることはない。そこには夜がないからである。
21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
21:26 人々は、諸国民の栄光とほまれとをそこに携えて来る。
21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
21:27 しかし、汚れた者や、忌むべきこと及び偽りを行う者は、その中に決してはいれない。はいれる者は、小羊のいのちの書に名をしるされている者だけである。
21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
22:1 御使はまた、水晶のように輝いているいのちの水の川をわたしに見せてくれた。この川は、神と小羊の御座から出て、
22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
22:2 都の大通りの中央を流れている。川の両側にはいのちの木があって、十二種の実を結び、その実は毎月みのり、その木の葉は諸国民をいやす。
22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
22:3 のろわれるべきものは、もはや何ひとつない。神と小羊との御座は都の中にあり、その僕たちは彼を礼拝し、
22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
22:4 御顔を仰ぎ見るのである。彼らの額には、御名がしるされている。
22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
22:5 夜は、もはやない。あかりも太陽の光も、いらない。主なる神が彼らを照し、そして、彼らは世々限りなく支配する。
22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
22:6 彼はまた、わたしに言った、「これらの言葉は信ずべきであり、まことである。預言者たちのたましいのか神なる主は、すぐにも起こるべきことをその僕たちに示そうとして、御使をつかわされたのである。
22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings (o. logos) are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
22:7 見よ、わたしは、すぐに来る。この書の預言の言葉を守るものは、さいわいである」。
22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keeps the sayings (o. logos) of the prophecy of this book.
22:8 これらのことを見聞きした者は、このヨハネである。わたしが見聞きした時、それらのことを示してくれた御使の足もとにひれ伏して拝そうとすると、
22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.
22:9 彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたや、あなたの兄弟である預言者たちや、この書の言葉を守る者たちと、同じ仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい」。
22:9 Then says he unto me, See you do it not: for I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings (o. logos) of this book: worship God.
22:10 またわたしに言った、「この書の預言の言葉を封じてはならない。時が近づいているからである。
22:10 And he says unto me, Seal not the sayings (o. logos) of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
22:11 不義な者はさらに不義を行い、汚れた者はさらに汚れたことを行い、義なる者はさらに義を行い、聖なる者はさらに聖なることを行うままにさせよ」。
22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
22:12 「見よ、わたしはすぐに来る。報いを携えてきて、それぞれのしわざに応じて報いよう。
22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
22:13 わたしはアルパであり、オメガである。最初の者であり、最後の者である。初めであり、終わりである。
22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
22:14 いのちの木にあずかる特権を与えられ、また門をとおって都にはいるために、自分の着物を洗う者たちは、さいわいである。
22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
22:15 犬ども、まじないをする者、姦淫を行う者、人殺し、偶像を拝む者、また、偽りを好みかつこれを行う者はみな、外に出されている。
22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
22:16 わたしイエスは、使いをつかわして諸教会のために、これらのことをあなたがたにあかしした。わたしは、ダビデの若枝また子孫であり、輝く明けの明星である」。
22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
22:17 御霊も花嫁も共に言った、「きたりませ」。また聞く者も「きたりませ」と言いなさい。かわいている者は、ここに来るがよい。いのちの水がほしい者は、価なしにそれを受けるがよい。
22:17 And the Spirit (o. pneuma) and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
22:18 この書の預言の言葉を聞くすべての人々に対して、わたしは警告する。もしこれに書き加える者があれば、神はその人に、この書に書かれている災害を加えられる。
22:18 For I testify unto every man that hears the words (o. logos) of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
22:19 また、もし、この書の言葉をとり除く者があれば、神はその人の受くべきぶんを、この書に書かれているいのちの木と聖なる都から、とり除かれる。
22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words (o. logos) of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
22:20 これらのことをあかしするかたが仰せになる、「しかり、わたしはすぐに来る」。アァメン、主イエスよ、きたりませ。
22:20 He which testifies these things says, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
22:21 主イエスの恵みが、一同の者と共にあるように。
22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. #@#
