1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
1:2 アブラハムはイサクの父であり、イサクはヤコブの父、ヤコブはユダとその兄弟たちとの父、
1:2 Abraham brings forth Isaac; and Isaac brings forth Jacob; and Jacob brings forth Judas and his brethren;
1:3 ユダはタマルによるパレスとザラとの父、パレスはエスロンの父、エスロンはアラムの父、
1:3 And Judas brings forth Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares brings forth Esrom; and Esrom brings forth Aram;
1:4 アラムはアミナダブの父、アミナダブはナアソンの父、ナアソンはサルモンの父、
1:4 And Aram brings forth Aminadab; and Aminadab brings forth Naasson; and Naasson brings forth Salmon;

1:8 And Asa brings forth Josaphat; and Josaphat brings forth Joram; and Joram brings forth Ozias;
1:9 ウジヤはヨタムの父、ヨタムはアハズの父、アハズはヒゼキアの父、
1:9 And Ozias brings forth Joatham; and Joatham brings forth Achaz; and Achaz brings forth Ezekias;
1:10 ヒゼキアはマナセの父、マナセはアモンの父、アモンはヨシヤの父、
1:10 And Ezekias brings forth Manasses; and Manasses brings forth Amon; and Amon brings forth Josias;
1:11 ヨシヤはバビロンへ移されたころ、エコニヤとその兄弟たちとの父となった。
1:11 And Josias brings forth Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
1:12 バビロンへ移されたのち、エコニヤはサラテルの父となった。サラテルはゾロバベルの父、
1:12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias brings forth Salathiel; and Salathiel brings forth Zorobabel;
1:13 ゾロバベルはアビウデの父、アビウデはエリヤキムの父、エリヤキムはアゾルの父、
1:13 And Zorobabel brings forth Abiud; and Abiud brings forth Eliakim; and Eliakim brings forth Azor;
1:14 アゾルはサドクの父、サドクはアキムの父、アキムはエリウデの父、
1:14 And Azor brings forth Sadoc; and Sadoc brings forth Achim; and Achim brings forth Eliud;
1:15 エリウデはエレアザルの父、エレアザルはマタンの父、マタンはヤコブの父、
1:15 And Eliud brings forth Eleazar; and Eleazar brings forth Matthan; and Matthan brings forth Jacob;
10:16 ヤコブはマリヤの夫ヨセフの父であった。このマリヤからキリストといわれるイエスがお生れになった。
1:16 And Jacob brings forth Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
1:17 だから、アブラハムからダビデもでの代は合わせて十四代、ダビデからバビロンへ移されるまでは十四代、そして、バビロンへ移されてからキリストまでは十四代である。
1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
1:18 イエス・キリストの誕生の次第はこうであった。母マリヤはヨセフと婚約していたが、まだ一緒にならない前に、聖霊によって身重になった。
1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was likewise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma)
1:19 夫ヨセフは正しい人であったので、彼女のことが公になることを好まず、ひそかに離縁しようと決心した。
1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately.
1:20 彼がこのことを思いめぐらしていたとき、主の使が夢に現れて言った、「ダビデの子ヨセフよ、心配しないでマリヤを妻として迎えるがよい。その胎内に宿っているものは聖霊によるものである。
1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, you son of David, fear not to take unto you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma)
1:21 彼女は男の子を産むであろう。その名をイエスと名づけなさい。彼は、おのれの民をそのもろもろの罪から救う者となるからである」。
1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
1:22 すべてこれらのことが起こったのは、主が預言者によって言われたことの成就するためである。すなわち、
1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
1:23 「見よ、おとめがみごもって男の子を産むであろう。その名はインマヌエルと呼ばれるであろう」。これは、「神われらと共にいます」という意味である。
1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
1:24 ヨセフは眠りからさめた後に、主の使が命じたとおりに、マリヤを妻に迎えた。
1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
1:25 しかし、子が生まれるまでは、彼女を知ることはなかった。そして、その子をイエスと名づけた。
1:25 And had sexual contact with her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
2:1 イエスがヘロデ王の代に、ユダのベツレヘムでお生まれになったとき、見よ、東からきた博士たちがエルサレムに着いて言った、
2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2:2 「ユダヤ人の王としてお生まれになったかたは、どこにおられますか。わたしたちは東の方でその星を見たので、そのかたを拝みにきました」。
2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
2:3 ヘロデ王はこのことを聞いて不安を感じた。エルサレムの人々もみな、同様であった。
2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
2:4 そこで王は祭司長と民の律法学者達とを全部集めて、キリストはどこに生まれるのかと、
2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
2:5 彼らに問いただした。彼らは王に言った、「それはユダヤのベツレヘムです。預言者がこうしるしています、
2:5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
2:6 『ユダの地、ベツレヘムよ、おまえはユダの君たちの中で、決して最も小さいものではない、おまえの中からひとりの君が出て、わが民イスラエルの牧者となるであろう』」。
2:6 And you Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, are not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
2:7 そこで、ヘロデはひそかに博士たちを呼んで、星の現れた時について詳しく聞き、
2:7 Then Herod, when he had privately called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
2:8 彼らをベツレヘムにつかわして言った、「行って、その幼な子のことを詳しく調べ、見つかったらわしに知らせてくれ、わたしも拝みに行くから」。
2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when all of you have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
2:9 彼らは王のいうことを聞いて出かけると、見よ、彼らが東方で見た星が、彼らより先に進んで、幼な子のいる所まで行き、その上にとどまった。
2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
2:10 彼らはその星を見て、非常な喜びにあふれた。
2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
2:11 そして、家にはいって、母マリヤのそばにいる幼子に会い、ひれ伏して拝み、また、宝の箱をあけて、黄金・乳香・没薬などの贈り物をささげた。
2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
2:12 そして、夢でヘロデのところに帰るなとのみ告げを受けたので、他の道をとおって自分の国へ帰って行った。
2:12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
2:13 彼らが帰って行ったのち、見よ、主の使いが夢でヨセフに現れて言った、「立って、幼な子とその母を連れて、エジプトに逃げなさい。そしてあなたに知らせるまで、そこにとどまっていなさい。ヘロデが幼な子を捜し出して殺そうとしている」。
2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be you there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
2:14 そこでヨセフは立って、夜の間に幼な子とその母とを連れて、エジプトへ行き、
2:14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
2:15 ヘロデが死ぬまでそこにとどまっていた。それは、主が預言者によって、「エジプトからわが子を呼び出した」と言われたことが、成就するためである。
2:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
2:16 さて、ヘロデは博士たちにだまされたと知って、非常に立腹した。そして人々をつかわし、博士たちから確かめた時に基いて、ベツレヘムとその附近の地方とにいる二歳以下の男の子を、ことごとく殺した。
2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
2:17 こうして、預言者エレミヤによって言われたことが、成就したのである。
2:17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
2:18 「叫び泣く大いなる悲しみの声がラマで聞こえた。ラケルのその子らのためになげいた。子らがもはやいないので、慰められることさえ願わなかった」。
2:18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
2:19 さて、ヘロデが死んだのち、見よ、主の使いがエジプトにいるヨセフに夢で現れて言った。
2:19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
2:20 「立って、幼な子とその母を連れて、イスラエルの地に行け。幼な子の命をねらった人々は、死んでしまった」。
2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
2:21 そこでヨセフは立って、幼な子とその母とを連れて、イスラエルの地に帰った。
2:21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
2:22 しかし、アケラオがその父ヘロデに代ってユダヤを治めていると聞いたので、そこへ行くことを恐れた。そしてそして夢でみ告げを受けたので、ガラリヤの地方に退き、
2:22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
2:23 ナザレという町に行って住んだ。これは預言者たちによって、「彼はナザレ人と呼ばれるであろう」と言われことが、成就するためである。
2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
3:1 そのころ、バプテスマのヨハネが現れ、ユダヤの荒野で教えを宣べて言った、
3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
3:2 「悔い改めよ、天国は近づいた」。
3:2 And saying, Repent all of you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3:3 預言者イザヤによって、「荒野で呼ばわる者の声がする、『主の道を備えよ、その道筋をまっすぐにせよ』と言われたのは、この人のことである。
3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
3:4 このヨハネは、らくだの毛ごろもを着物にし、腰に皮のの帯をしめ、いなごと野蜜とを食物としていた。
3:4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
3:5 すると、エルサレムとユダヤ全土とヨルダン附近一帯の人々が、ぞくぞくとヨハネのところに出てきて、
3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
3:6 自分の罪を告白し、ヨルダン川でヨハネからバプテスマを受けた。
3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
3:7 ヨハネは、バリサイ人やサドカイ人がおおぜいバプテスマを受けようとしてきたのを見て、彼らに言った、「まむしの子らよ、迫ってきている神の怒りから、おまえたちはのがれられると、だれが教えたのか。
3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
3:8 だから、悔改めにふさわしい実を結べ。
3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
3:9 自分たちの父にはアブラハムがあるなどと、心の中で思ってもみるな。おまえたちに言っておく、神はこれらの石ころからでも、アブラハムの子を起こすことができるのだ。
3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
3:10 斧がすでに木の根元に置かれている。だから、良い実を結ばない木はことごとく切られて、火の中に投げ込まれるのだ。
3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
3:11 わたしは悔改めのために、水でおまえたちにバプテスマを授けている。しかし、わたしのあとから来る人はわたしより力のあるかたで、わたしはそのくつをぬがせてあげる値うちもない。このかたは、聖霊と火によっておまえたちにバプテスマをお授けになるであろう。
3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) and with fire:
3:12 また箕を手に持って、打ち場の麦をふるい分け、麦は倉に納め、からは消えない火で焼き捨てるであろう」。
3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
3:13 そのときイエスは、ガリラヤを出てヨルダン川に現れ、ヨハネのところにきて、バプテスマを受けようとされた。
3:13 Then comes Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
3:14 ところがヨハネは、それを思いとどまらせようとして言った。「わたしこそあなたからバプテスマを受けるはずですのに、あなたがわたしのところにおいでになるのですか」。
3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of you, and come you to me?
3:15 しかし、イエスは答えて言われた、「今は受けさせてもらいたい。このように、すべての正しいことを成就するのは、われわれにふさわしいことである」。そこで、ヨハネはイエスの言われるとおりにした。
3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
3:16 イエスはバプテスマを受けるとすぐ、水から上がられた。すると、見よ、天が開け、神の御霊がはとのように自分の上に下ってくるのを、ごらんになった。
3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up immediately out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
3:17 また天から声があって言った、「これはわたしの愛する子、わたしの心にかなう者である」。
3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
4:1 さて、イエスは御霊によって荒野に導かれた。悪魔に試みられるためである。
4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit (o. pneuma) into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
4:2 そして、四十日四十夜、断食をし、そののち空腹になられた。
4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered.
4:3 すると試みる者がきて言った、「もしあなたが神の子であるなら、これらの石がパンになるように命じてごらんなさい」。
4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4:4 イエスは答えて言われた。「『人はパンだけで生きるものではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言葉で生きるものである』と書いてある」。
4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (o. rhema) that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
4:5 それから悪魔は、イエスを聖なる都につれて行き、宮の頂上に立たせて
4:5 Then the devil takes him up into the holy city, and sets him on a pinnacle of the temple,
4:6 言った、「もしあなたが神の子であるなら、下へ飛びおりてごらんなさい。『神はあなたのために御使いたちにお命じになると、あなたの足が石に打ちつけないように、彼らはあなたを手でささえるであろう』と書いてありますから」。
4:6 And says unto him, If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you: and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.
4:7 イエスは彼に言われた、「『主なるあなたの神を試みてはならない』とまた書いてある」。
4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.
4:8 次に悪魔は、イエスを非常に高い山につれて行き、この世のすべての国々とその栄華とを見せて
4:8 Again, the devil takes him up into an exceeding high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
4:9 言った、「もしあなだが、ひれ伏してわたしを拝むなら、これらのものを皆あなたにあげましょう」。
4:9 And says unto him, All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me.
4:10 するとイエスは彼に言われた、「サタンよ、退け。『主なるあなたの神を拝し、ただ神のみに仕えよ』と書いてある」。
4:10 Then says Jesus unto him, Get you behind, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
4:11 そこで、悪魔はイエスを離れ去り、そして、御使いたちがみもとにきて仕えた。
4:11 Then the devil left him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
4:12 さて、イエスはヨハネが捕らえられたと聞いて、ガリラヤへ退かれた。
4:12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
4:13 そしてナザレを去り、ゼブルンとナフタリとの地方にある海辺の町カペナウムに行って住まわれた。
4:13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
4:14 これは預言者イザヤによって言われた言が、成就するためである。
4:14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying,
4:15 「ゼブルンの地、ナフタリの地、海に沿う地方、ヨルダンの向こうの地、異邦人のガラリヤ、
4:15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
4:16 暗黒の中に住んでいる民は大いなる光を見、死の地、死の陰に住んでいる人々に、光がのぼった」。
4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
4:17 この時からイエスは教えを宣べはじめて言われた、「悔い改めよ天国は近づいた」。
4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
4:18 さて、イエスがガリラヤの海べを歩いておられると、ふたりの兄弟、すなわち、ペテロと呼ばれたシモンとその兄弟アンデレとが、海に網を打っているのをごらんになった。
4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
4:19 イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしについてきなさい。あなたがたを、人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう」。
4:19 And he says unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
4:20 すると、彼らはすぐに網を捨てて、イエスに従った。
4:20 And they immediately left their nets, and followed him.
4:21 そこから進んで行かれると、ほかのふたりの兄弟、すなわち、ゼベタイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネとが、父ゼベタイと一緒に、船の中で網を繕っているのをごらんになった。そこで彼らをお招きになると、
4:21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
4:22 すぐ船と父をおいて、イエスに従って行った。
4:22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
4:23 イエスはガリラヤの全地を巡り歩いて、諸会堂で教え、御国の福音を宣べ伝え、民の中のあらゆる病気、あらゆるわずらいをおいやしになった。
4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
4:24 そこで、その評判はシリヤ全地にひろまり、人々があらゆる病にかかっている者、すなわち、いろいろの病気と苦しみに悩んでいる者、悪霊につかれている者、てんかん、中風の者などをイエスのところに連れてきたので、これらの人々をおいやしになった。
4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
4:25 こうして、カリラヤ、デカボリス、エルサレム、ユダヤ及びヨルダンの向こうから、おびただしい群衆がきてイエスに従った。
4:25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
5:1 イエスは群衆を見て、山に登り、座につかれると、弟子たちがみもとに近寄ってきた。
5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
5:2 そこでイエスは口を開き、彼らに教えて言われた。
5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
5:3 「こころ貧しい人たちは、さいわいである、天国は彼らのものである。
5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: (o. pneuma) for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:4 悲しんでいる人たちはさいわいである、彼らは慰められるであろう。
5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5:5 柔和な人たちは、さいわいである、彼らは地を受けつぐであろう。
5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
5:6 義に飢えかわいている人たちは、さいわいである、彼らは飽き足りるようになるであろう。
5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
5:7 あわれみ深い人たちは、さいわいである、彼らはあわれみを受けるであろう。
5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
5:8 心の清い人たちは、さいわいである、彼らは神を見るであろう。
5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
5:9 平和をつくり出す人たちは、さいわいである、彼らは神の子と呼ばれるであろう。
5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
5:10 義のために迫害された人たちは、さいわいである、天国は彼らのものである。
5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 わたしのために人々があなたがたをののしり、また迫害し、あなたがたに対し偽りの様々な悪口を言う時には、あなたがたは、さいわいである。
5:11 Blessed are all of you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil (o. rhema) against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 喜び、よろこべ、天においてあなたがたの受ける報いは大きい。あなたがたより前の預言者たちも、同じように迫害されたのである。
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
5:13 あなたがたは、地の塩である。もし塩のききめがなくなったら、何によってその味を取りもどせようか。もはや、なんの役にも立たず、ただ外に捨てられて、人々にふみつれられるだけである。
5:13 All of you are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
5:14 あなたがたは、世の光である、。山の上にある町は隠れることができない。
5:14 All of you are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
5:15 また、あかりをつけて、それを升の下におく者はいない。むしろ燭台の上において、家の中のすべてのものを照らさせるのである。
5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.
5:16 そのように、あなたがたの光を人々の前に輝やかし、そして、人々があなたがたのよいおこないを見て、天にいますあなたがたの父をあがめるようにしなさい。
5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
5:17 わたしが律法や預言者を廃するためにきた、と思ってはならない。廃するためではなく、成就するためにきたのである。
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
5:18 よく言っておく。天地が滅び行くまでは、律法の一点、一画もすたることはなく、ことごとく全うされるのである。
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
5:19 それだから、これらの最も小さいいましめ一つでも破り、またそうするように人々に教えたりするものは、天国で最も小さい者と呼ばれるであろう。しかし、これをおこないまたそう教える者は、天国で大いなる者と呼ばれるであろう。
5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
5:20 わたしは言っておく。あなたがたの義が立法学者やパリサイ人の義にまさっていなければ、決して天国に、はいることはできない。
5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, all of you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
5:21 「昔の人々に『殺すな。殺す者は裁判を受けなければならない』と言われていたことは、あなたがたの聞いているところである。
5:21 All of you have heard that it was said of them of old time, You shall not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
5:22 しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。兄弟に対して怒る者は、だれでも裁判を受けなけねばならない。兄弟にむかって愚か者と言う者は、議会に引きわたされるであろう。また、ばか者と言う者は、地獄の火に投げ込まれるであろう。
5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
5:23 だから、祭壇に供え物をささげうとする場合、兄弟が自分に対して何かうらみをいだいていることを、そこで思い出したなら、
5:23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you;
5:24 その供え物を祭壇の前に残しておき、まず行ってその兄弟と和解し、それから帰ってきて、供え物をささげることにしなさい。
5:24 Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
5:25 あなたを訴える者と一緒に道を行く時には、その途中で早く仲直りしなさい。そうしないと、その訴える者はあなたを裁判官にわたし、裁判官は下役にわたし、そして、あなたは獄に入れられるであろう。
5:25 Agree with yours adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
5:26 よくあなたに言っておく。最後の一ゴドラントを支払ってしまうまでは、決してそこから出てくることはできない。
5:26 Verily I say unto you, You shall by no means come out thence, till you have paid the uttermost farthing.

5:27 All of you have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery:
5:28 しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。だれでも、情欲をいだいて女を見る者は、心の中ですでに姦淫をしたのである。
5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
5:29 もしあなたの右の目が罪を犯させるのなら、それを抜き出して捨てなさい。五体の一部を失っても、全身が地獄に投げ入れない方が、あなたにとって益である。
5:29 And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.
5:30 もしあなたの右の手が罪を犯させるのなら、それを切って捨てなさい、五体の一部を失っても、全身が地獄に落ち込まない方が、あなたにとって益である。
5:30 And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.
5:31 また『妻を出す者は離縁状を渡せ』と言われている。
5:31 It has been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
5:32 しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。だれでも、不品行以外の理由で自分の妻を出す者は、、姦淫を行わせるのである。また出された女をめとる者も、姦淫を行うのである。
5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause (o. logos) of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.
5:33 また昔の人々に『いつわり誓うな、誓ったことは、すべて主に対して果せ』と言われていたことは、あなたがたの聞いているところである。
5:33 Again, all of you have heard that it has been said by them of old time, You shall not renounce swearing yourself, but shall perform unto the Lord yours oaths:
5:34 しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。いっさい誓ってはならない。天をさして誓うな。そこは神の御座であるから。
5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
5:35 また地をさして誓うな。そこは神の足台であるから。またエルサレムをさして誓うな。それは『大王の都』であるから。
5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
5:36 また自分の頭をさして誓うな。あなたは髪の毛一すじさえ、白くも黒くもすることができない。
5:36 Neither shall you swear by your head, because you can not make one hair white or black.
5:37 あなたがたの言葉は、だだ、しかり、しかり、否、否、であるべきだ。それ以上に出ることは、悪から来るのである。
5:37 But let your communication (o. logos) be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.

5:38 All of you have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

5:39 But I say unto you, That all of you resist not evil: but whosoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

5:40 And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
5:41 もし、だれかが、あなたをしいて一マイル行かせようとするなら、その人と共に二マイル行きなさい。
5:41 And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two.
5:42 求めようとする者に与え、借りようとする者を断るな。
5:42 Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not you away.
5:43 『隣人を愛し、敵を憎め』と言われていたことは、あなたがたの聞いているところである。
5:43 All of you have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbour, and hate yours enemy.
5:44 しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。敵を愛し、迫害する者のために祈れ。
5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
5:45 こうして、天にいますあなたがたの父と子となるためである。天の父は、悪い者の上にも良い者の上にも、太陽をのぼらせ、正しい者にも正しくない者にも、雨を降らして下さるからである。
5:45 That all of you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
5:46 あなたがたは自分を愛する者を愛したからとて、なんの報いがあろうか。そのようなことは取税人でもするではないか。
5:46 For if all of you love them which love you, what reward have all of you? do not even the publicans the same?
5:47 兄弟だけにあいさつしたからとて、なんのすくれた事をしているだろうか。そのようなことは異邦人でもしているではないか。
5:47 And if all of you salute your brethren only, what do all of you more than others? do not even the publicans so?
5:48 それだから、あなたがたの天の父が完全であられるように、あなたがたも完全な者となりなさい。
5:48 Be all of you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
6:1 自分の義を、見られるために人の前で行わないように、注意しなさい。もし、そうしないと、天にいますあなたの父から報いを受けることがないであろう。
6:1 Take heed that all of you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise all of you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
6:2 だから、施しをする時には、偽善者たちが人にほめられるため会堂や町の中でするように、自分の前でラッパを吹きならすな。よく言っておくが、彼らはその報いを受けてしまっている。
6:2 Therefore when you do yours alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:3 But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:

6:4 That yours alms may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret himself shall reward you openly.
6:5 また祈る時には、偽善者たちのようにするな。彼らは人に見せようとして、会堂や大通りのつじに立って祈ることを好む。よく言っておくが、彼らはその報いを受けてしまっている。
6:5 And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:6 あなたは祈る時には、自分のへやにはいり、戸を閉じて、隠れた所においでになるあなたの父に祈りなさい。すると、隠れた事を見ておられるあなたの父は、報いてくださるであろう。
6:6 But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.
6:7 また、祈る場合、異邦人のように、くどくど祈るな。彼らは言葉かずが多ければ、聞きいれられるものと思っている。
6:7 But when all of you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
6:8 だから、彼らのまねをするな。あなたがたの父なる神は、求めない先から、あなたがたの必要なものはご存知なのである。
6:8 Be not all of you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things all of you have need of, before all of you ask him.
6:9 だから、あながたはこう祈りなさい、天にいますわれらの父よ、御名をあがめられますように、
6:9 After this manner therefore pray all of you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
6:10 御国がきますように、みこころが天に行われるとおり、地にも行われますように。
6:10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
6:11 わたしたちの日ごとの食物を、きょうもお与えください。
6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
6:12 わたしたちに負債のある者をゆるしましたように、わたしたちの負債をおゆるしください。
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
6:13 わたしたちを試みに会わせないで、悪き者からお救いください。
6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
6:14 もしも、あなたがたが、人々のあやまちをゆるすならば、あなたがたの天の父も、あなたがたをゆるして下さるであろう。
6:14 For if all of you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
6:15 もし人をゆるさないならば、あなたがたの父も、あなたがたのあやまちをゆるして下さらないであろう。
6:15 But if all of you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
6:16 また、断食をする時には、偽善者がするように、陰気な顔つきをするな。彼らは断食をしていることを人に見せようとして、自分の顔を見苦しくするのである。よく言っておくが、彼らはその報いを受けてしまっている。
6:16 Moreover when all of you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:17 あなたがたは断食をする時には、自分の頭に油を塗り、顔を洗いなさい。
6:17 But you, when you fast, anoint yours head, and wash your face;
6:18 それは断食をしていることが人に知れないで、隠れたところにおいでになるあなたの父に知られるためである。すると、隠れた事を見ておられるあなたの父は、報いて下さるであろう。
6:18 That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father which is in secret: and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly.
6:19 あなたがたは自分のために、虫が食い、さびがつき、また、盗人らが押し入って盗み出すような地上に、宝をたくわえてはならない。
6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
6:20 むしろ自分のため、虫も食わさず、さびもつかず、また、盗人らが押し入って盗み出すことのない天に、宝をたくわえなさい。
6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
6:21 あなたの宝のある所には、心もあるからである。
6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
6:22 目はからだのあかりである。だから、あなたの目が澄んでおれば、全身も明るいだろう。
6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore yours eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.
6:23 しかし、あなたの目が悪ければ、全身も暗いだろう。だから、もしあなたの内なる光が暗ければ、その暗さは、どんなであろう。
6:23 But if yours eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness!
20:64 だれも、ふたりの主人に兼ね仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛し、あるいは、一方を親しんで他方をうとんじるからである。あなたがたは、神と富とに兼ね仕えることはできない。
6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.
6:25 それだから、あなたがたに言っておく。何を食べようか、何を飲もうかと、自分の命のことで思いわずらい、何を着ようかと自分の体のことで思いわずらうな。命は食物にまさり、からだは着物にまさるではないか。
6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what all of you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?
6:26 空の鳥を見るがよい。まくことも、刈ることもせず、倉に取り入れることもしない。それだのに、あなたがたの天の父は彼らを養って下さる。あなたがたは彼らよりも、はるかにすぐれた者ではないか。
6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are all of you not much better than they?
6:27 あなたがたのうち、だれが思いわずらったからとて、自分の寿命をわずかでも延ばすことができようか。
6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
6:28 また、なぜ、着物のことて思いわずらうのか。野の花がどうして育っているか、考えて見るがよい。働きもせず、紡ぎもしない。
6:28 And why take all of you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
6:29 しかし、あなたがたに言うが、栄華をきわめた時のソロモンでさえ、この花一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。
6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
6:30 きょうは生えていて、あすは炉に投げ入れられる野の草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、あなたがたに、それ以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか。ああ、信仰の薄い者たちよ。
6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O all of you of little faith?
6:31 だから、何を食べようか、何を飲もうか、あるいは何を着ようかと言って思いわずらうな。これらのものはみな、異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの天の父は、
6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
6:32 これらのものが、ことごとくあなたがに必要であることをご存知である。
6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that all of you have need of all these things.
6:33 まず神の国と神の義とを求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは、すべて添え与えられるであろう。
6:33 But seek all of you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
6:34 だから、あすのことを思いわずらうな。あすのことは、あす自身が思いわずらうであろう。一日の苦労は、その日一日だけで十分である。
6:34 Take therefore no thought for the next day: for the next day shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
7:1 人をさばくな、自分がさばかれないためである。
7:1 Judge not, that all of you be not judged.
7:2 あなたがたがさばくそのさばきで、自分もさばかれ、あなたがたの量るそのはかりで、自分にも量りを与えられるであろう。
7:2 For with what judgment all of you judge, all of you shall be judged: and with what measure all of you mete, it shall be measured to you again.
7:3 なぜ、兄弟の目にあるちりを見ながら、自分の目にある梁を認めないのか。
7:3 And why behold you the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in yours own eye?
7:4 自分の目には梁があるのに、どうして兄弟にむかって、あなたの目からちりを取らせてください、と言えようか。
7:4 Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull out the splinter out of yours eye; and, behold, a beam is in yours own eye?
7:5 偽善者よ、まず自分の目から梁を取りのけるがよい。そうすれば、はっきの見えるようになって、兄弟の目からちりをとりのけることができるだろう。
7:5 You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of yours own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the splinter out of your brother's eye.
7:6 聖なるものを犬にやるな。また真珠を豚に投げてやるな。おそらく彼らはそれを足で踏みつけ、向きなおってあなたがたにかみついてくるであろう。
7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast all of you your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and return and rend you.

7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and all of you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

7:8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
7:9 あなたがたのうちで、自分の子がパンを求めるのに、石を与える者があろうか。
7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
7:10 魚を求めるのに、へびを与える者があろうか。
7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
7:11 このように、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天にいますあなたがたの父はなおさら、求めてくる者に良いもの下さらないことがあろうか。
7:11 If all of you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
7:12 だから、何事でも人々からしてほしいと望むことは、人々にもそのとおりにせよ。これが律法であり預言者である。
7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever all of you would that men should do to you, do all of you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
7:13 狭い門からはいれ、滅びにいたる門は大きく、その道は広い。そして、そこから入っていく者は多い。
7:13 Enter all of you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
7:14 命にいたる門は狭く、その道は細い。そして、それを見いだす者が少ない。
7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.
7:15 にせ預言者を警戒せよ。彼らは、羊の衣を着てあなたがたのところに来るが、その内側は強欲なおおかみである。
7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

7:16 All of you shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
7:17 そのように、すべて良い木は良い実を結び、悪い木は悪い実を結ぶ。
7:17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
7:18 良い木が悪い実をならせることはないし、悪い木が良い実をならせることはできない。
7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
7:19 良い実を結ばない木はことごとく切られて、火の中に投げ込まれる。
7:19 Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
7:20 このように、あなたがたはその実によって彼らを見わけるのである。
7:20 Wherefore by their fruits all of you shall know them.
7:21 わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ』と言う者が、みな天国にはいるのではなく、ただ、天にいますわが父の御旨を行う者だけが、はいるのである。
7:21 Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
7:22 その日には、多くの者が、私にむかって『主よ、主よ、わたしたちはあなたの名によって預言したではありませんか。また、あなたの名によって悪霊を追い出し、あなたの名によって多くの力あるわざを行ったではありませんか』と言うであろう。
7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?
7:23 そのとき、わたしは彼らにはっきり、こう言おう、『あなたがたを全く知らない。不法を働く者どもよ、行ってしまえ』。
7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, all of you that work iniquity.
7:24 それで、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いて行うものを、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができよう。
7:24 Therefore whosoever hears these sayings (o. logos) of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
7:25 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけても、倒れることはない。岩を土台としているからである。
7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
7:26 また、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いても行わない者を、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができよう。
7:26 And every one that hears these sayings (o. logos) of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
7:27 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると、倒れてしまう。そしてその倒れ方はひどいのである」。
7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
7:28 イエスがこれらの言を語り終えられると、群衆はその教えにひどく驚いた。
7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, (o. logos) the people were astonished at his doctrine:
7:29 それは律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。
7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
8:1 イエスが山をお降りになると、おびただしい群衆がついてきた。
8:1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
8:2 すると、そのとき、ひとりのらい病人がイエスのところにきて、ひれ伏して言った、主よ、みこころでしたら、きよめていただけるのですが」。
8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.
8:3 イエスは手を伸ばして、彼にさわり、「そうしてあげよう、きよくなれ」と言われた。すると、らい病は直ちにきよめられた。
8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be you clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
8:4 イエスは彼に言われた、「だれにも話さないように、注意しなさい。ただ行って、自分のからだを祭司に見せ、それから、モーセが命じた供えものをささげて、人々に証明しなさい」。
8:4 And Jesus says unto him, See you tell no man; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
8:5 さて、イエスがカペナウムに帰ってこられたとき、ある百卒長がみもとにきて訴えて言った
8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
8:6 「主よ、わたしの僕が中風でひどく苦しんで、家に寝ています」。
8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
8:7 イエスは彼に、「わたしが行ってなおしてあげよう」と言われた。
8:7 And Jesus says unto him, I will come and heal him.
8:8 そこで百卒長は答えて言った、「主よ、わたしの屋根の下にあなたをお入れする資格は、わたしにはございません。ただ、あなたの言葉を下さい。そうすれば僕はなおります。
8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word (o. logos) only, and my servant shall be healed.
8:9 わたしも権威の下にある者ですが、わたしの下にも兵卒がいまして、ひとりの者に『行け』と言えば行き、ほかの者に『こい』と言えばきますし、また、僕に『これをせよ』と言えば、してくれるのです」。
8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
8:10 イエスはこれを聞いて非常に感心され、ついてきた人々に言われた、「よく聞きなさい。イスラエルの人の中にも、これほどの信仰を見たことがない。
8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
8:11 なお、あなたがたに言うが、多くの人が東から西からきて、天国で、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブと共に宴会の席につくが、
8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
8:12 この国の子らは外のやみに追い出され、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう」。
8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
8:13 それからイエスは百卒長に「行け、あなたの信じたとおりになるように」と言われた。すると、ちょうどその時に、僕はいやされた。
8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the very same hour.
8:14 それから、イエスはペテロの家にはいって行かれ、そのしゅうとめが熱病で、床についているのをごらんになった。
8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
8:15 そこで、その手にさわられると、熱が引いた。そして女は起きあがってイエスをもてなした。
8:15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
8:16 夕暮になると、人々は悪魔につかれた者を大ぜい、みもとに連れてきたので、イエスはみ言葉をもって霊どもを追い出し、病人をことごとくおいやしになった。
8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits (o. pneuma) with his word, (o. logos) and healed all that were sick:
8:17 これは、預言者イザヤによって「彼は、わたしたちのわずらいを身に受け、わたしたちの病を負うた」と言われた言葉か成就するためである。
8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
8:18 イエスは、群衆が自分のまわりに群がっているのを見て、向こう岸に行くようにと弟子たちにお命じになった。
8:18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
8:19 するとひとりの律法学者が近づいてきて言った、「先生、あなたがおいでになる所なら、どこへでも従ってまいります」。
8:19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow you anywhere you go.
8:20 イエスはその人に言われた、「きつねには穴があり、空の鳥には巣がある。しかし、人の子にはまくらする所がない」。
8:20 And Jesus says unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.
8:21 また弟子のひとりが言った、「主よ、まず、父を葬りに行かせて下さい」。
8:21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
8:22 イエスは彼に言われた、「わたしに従ってきなさい。そして、その死人を葬ることは、死人に任せておくがよい」。
8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
8:23 それから、イエスが船に乗り込まれると、弟子たちも従った。
8:23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
8:24 すると突然、海上に激しい暴風が起つて、船は波にのまれそうになった。ところが、イエスは眠っておられた。
8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
8:25 そこで弟子たちは寄ってきてイエスを越し「主よ、お助けください、わたしたちは死にそうです」と言った。
8:25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
8:26 するとイエスは彼らに言われた「なぜこわがるのか、信仰の薄い者たちよ」。それから起きあがって、風と海とをおしかりになると、大なぎになった。
8:26 And he says unto them, Why are all of you fearful, O all of you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
8:27 彼らは驚いて言った、「このかたはどうゆう人なのだろう。風も海も従わせるとは」。
8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
8:28 それから、向こう岸、ガダラの人の地に着かれると、悪霊につかれたふたりの者が、墓場から出てきてイエスに出会った。彼らは手に負えない乱暴者で、だれもその辺の道を通ることができないほどであった。
8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
8:29 すると突然、彼らは叫んで言った、「神の子よ、あなたはわたしどもとなんの係わりがあるのです。まだその時ではないのに、ここにきて、わたしどもを苦しめるのですか」。
8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God? are you come here to torment us before the time?
8:30 さて、そこからはるか離れた所に、おびただしい豚の群れが飼ってあった。
8:30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
8:31 悪霊どもはイエスに願って言った、「もしわたしどもを追い出されるのなら、あの豚の群れの中につかわして下さい」。
8:31 So the devils besought him, saying, If you cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
8:32 そこで、イエスが「行け」と言われると、彼らは出て行って、豚の中へはいり込んだ。すると、その群れ全体が、がけから海へなだれを打って駆け下り、水の中で死んでしまった。
8:32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
8:33 飼う者たちは逃げて町へ行き、悪霊につかれた者たちのことなど、いっさいをしらせた。
8:33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
8:34 すると、町中の者がイエスに会いに出てきた。そして、イエスに会うと、この地方から去ってくださるようにと頼んだ。
8:34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
9:1 さて、イエスは船に乗って海を渡り、自分の町に帰られた。
9:1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
9:2 すると、人々が中風の人を床の上に寝かせたままでみもとに運んできた。イエスは彼らの信仰を見て、中風の者に、「子よ、しっかりしなさい。あなたの罪はゆるされたのだ」と言われた。
9:2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you.
9:3 すると、ある律法学者たちが心の中で言った、「この人は神を汚している」。
9:3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.
9:4 イエスは彼らの考えを見抜いて、「なぜ、あなたがたは心の中で悪いことを考えているのか。
9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think all of you evil in your hearts?
9:5 あなたの罪はゆるされた、と言うのと、起きて歩け、と言うのと、どちらがたやすいか。
9:5 For whether is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?
9:6 しかし、人の子は地上で罪をゆるす権威をもっていることが、あなたがたにわかねために」と言い、中風の者に向かって、「起きよ、床を取り家に帰れ」と言われた。
9:6 But that all of you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then says he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed, and go unto yours house.
9:7 すると彼は起きあがり、家へ帰って行った。
9:7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
9:8 群衆はそれを見て恐れ、こんな大きな権威を人にお与えになった神をあがめた。
9:8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9:9 さてイエスはそこから進んで行かれ、マタイという人が収税所にすわっているのを見て、「わたしに従ってきなさい」と言われた。すると彼は立ちあがって、イエスに従った。
9:9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he says unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
9:10 それから、イエスが家で食事の席についておられた時のことである。多くの取税人や罪人たちがきて、イエスやその弟子たちと共にその席に着いていた。
9:10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at food in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
9:11 パリサイ人たちはこれを見て、弟子たちに言った、「なぜ、あなたがたの先生は、取税人や罪人などと食事を共にするのか」。
9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners?
9:12 イエスはこれを聞いて言われた、「丈夫な人には医者はいらない。いるのは病人である。
9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
9:13 『わたしが好むのは、あわれみであって、いけにえではない』とはどういう意味か、学んできなさい。わたしがきたのは、義人を招くためではなく、罪人を招くためである」。
9:13 But go all of you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
9:14 そのとき、ヨハネの弟子たちがイエスのところにきて言った、「わたしたちとパリサイ人たちとが断食しているのに、あなたの弟子たちは、なぜ断食しないのですか」。
9:14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples fast not?
9:15 するとイエスは言われた、「婚礼の客は、花婿が一緒にいる間は、悲しんでおられようか。しかし、花婿が奪い去られる日がくる。その時には断食をするであろう。
9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
9:16 だれも、真新しい布ぎれで、古い着物につぎを当てはしない。そのつぎきれは着物を引き破り、そして、破れがもっとひどくなるから。
9:16 No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
9:17 だれも、新しいぶどう酒を古い皮袋に入れはしない。もしそんなことをしたら、その皮袋は張り裂け、酒は流れ出るし、皮袋もむだになる。だから、あたらしいぶどう酒は新しい皮袋に入れるべきである。そうすれば両方とも長もちするであろう」。
9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
9:18 これらのことを彼らに話しておられると、そこにひとりの会堂司がきて、イエスを拝して言った、「私の娘がただ今死にました。しかしおいでになって手をその上においてやって下さい。そうしたら、娘は生き返るでしょう」。
9:18 While he spoke these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay your hand upon her, and she shall live.
9:19 そこで、イエスは立って彼について行かれると、弟子たちも一緒に行った。
9:19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
9:20 するとそのとき、十二年間も長血をわずらっている女が近寄ってきて、イエスのうしろからみ衣のふさにとわった。
9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
9:21 み衣にさわりさえすれば、なおしていただけるだろう、と心の中で思っていたからである。
9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
9:22 イエスは振り向いて、この女を見て言われた、「娘よ、しっかりしなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです」。するとこの女はその時に、いやされた。
9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
9:23 それからイエスは司の家に着き、笛吹きどもや騒いでいる群衆を見て言われた。
9:23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
9:24 「あちらへ行っていなさい。少女は死んだのではない。眠っているだけである」。すると人々はイエスをあざ笑った。
9:24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.
9:25 しかし、群衆を外へ出したのち、イエスは内へはいって、少女の手をお取りになると、少女は起き上がった。
9:25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
9:26 そして、そのうわさがこの地方全体にひろまった。
9:26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
9:27 そこから進んで行かれると、ふたりの盲人が、「ダビデの子よ、わたしたちをあわれんで下さい」と叫びながら、イエスについてきた。
9:27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, You son of David, have mercy on us.
9:28 そしてイエスが家にはいられると、盲人たちがみもとにきたので、彼らに「わたしにそれができると信じるか」と言われた。彼らは言った、「主よ、信じます」。
9:28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus says unto them, Believe all of you that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
9:29 そこで、イエスは彼らの目にさわって言われた、「あなたがたの信仰どおり、あなたがたの身になるように」。
9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
9:30 すると彼らの目が開かれた。イエスは彼らをきびしく戒めて言われた、「だれにも知れないように気をつけなさい」。
9:30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
9:31 しかし、彼らは出て行って、その地方全体にイエスのことを言いひろめた。
9:31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
9:32 彼らが出ていくと、人々は悪霊につかれたおしをイエスのところに連れてきた。
9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
9:33 すると、悪霊は追い出されて、おしが物を言うようになった。群衆が驚いて、「このようなことがイスラエルのなかでみられたことは、これまで一度もなかった」と言った。
9:33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
9:34 しかし、パリサイ人たちは言った、「彼は、悪霊どものかしらによって悪霊どもを追い出しているのだ」。
9:34 But the Pharisees said, He casts out devils through the prince of the devils.
9:35 イエスは、全ての町々村々を巡り歩いて、諸会堂で教え、御国の福音を宣べ伝え、あらゆる病気、あらゆるわずらいをおいやしになった。
9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
9:36 また群衆が飼う者のない羊のように弱り果てて、倒れているのをごらんになって、彼らを深くあわれまれた。
9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
9:37 そして弟子たちに言われた、「収穫は多いが、働き人が少ない。
9:37 Then says he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is abundant, but the labourers are few;
9:38 だから、収穫の主に願って、その収穫のために働き人を送り出すようにしてもらいなさい」。
9:38 Pray all of you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
10:1 そこで、イエスは十二弟子を呼び寄せて、汚れた霊を追い出し、あらゆる病気、あらゆるわずらいをいやす権威をお授けになった。
10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, (o. pneuma) to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
10:2 十二使徒の名は、次のとおりである。まずペテロと呼ばれたシモンとその兄弟アンデレ、それからゼベタイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネ、
10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
10:3 ピリポとバルトロマイ、トマスと取税人マタイアルパヨの子ヤコブとタダイ、
10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
10:4 熱心党のシモンとイスカリオテのユダ。このユダはイエスを裏切った者である。
10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
10:5 イエスはこの十二人をつかわすに当たり、彼らに命じて言われた、「異邦人の道に行くな、またサマリヤ人の町にはいるな。
10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter all of you not:
10:6 むしろ、イスラエルの家の失われた羊のところへ行け。
10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
10:7 行って『天国が近づいた』と宣べ伝えよ。
10:7 And as all of you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
10:8 病人をいやし、死人をよみがえらせ、らい病人をきよめ、悪霊を追い出せ。ただで受けたのだから、ただで与えるがよい。
10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely all of you have received, freely give.
10:9 財布の中に金、銀または銭を入れて行くな。
10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10:10 旅行のための袋も、二枚の下着も、くつも、つえも持って行くな。働き人がその食物を得るのは当然である。
10:10 Nor pouch for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his food.
10:11 どの町、どの村にはいっても、その中でだれがふさわしい人か、たずね出して、立ち去るまではその人のところにとどまっておれ。
10:11 And into whatsoever city or town all of you shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till all of you go thence.
10:12 その家にはいったなら、平安を祈ってあげなさい。
10:12 And when all of you come into an house, salute it.
10:13 もし平安を受けるにふさわしい家であれば、あなたが祈る平安はその家に来るであろう。もしふさわしくなければ、その平安はあなたがたに帰って来るであろう。
10:13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
10:14 もしあなたがたわ迎えもせず、またあなたがたの言葉を聞きもしない人があれば、その家や町を立ち去る時に、足のちりを払い落しなさい。
10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, (o. logos) when all of you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
10:15 あなたがたによく言っておく。さばきの日には、ソドム、ゴモラの地の方が、その町よりは耐えやすいであろう。
10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
10:16 わたしがあなたがたをつかわすのは、羊をおおかみの中に送るようなものである。だから、へびのように賢く、はとのように素直であれ。
10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be all of you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
10:17 人々に注意しなさい。彼らはあなたがたを集議所に引き渡し、会堂でむち打つであろう。
10:17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
10:18 またあなたがたは、わたしのために長官たちや王の前に引き出されるであろう。それは、かれらと異邦人とに対してあかしをするためである。
10:18 And all of you shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
10:19 かれらがあなたがたを引き渡したとき、何をどう言おうかと心配しないがよい。言うべきことは、その時に授けられるからである。
10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what all of you shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what all of you shall speak.
10:20 語る者は、あなたがたではなく、あなたがたの中にあって語る父の霊である。
10:20 For it is not all of you that speak, but the Spirit (o. pneuma) of your Father which speaks in you.
10:21 兄弟は兄弟を、父は子を殺すために渡し、また子は親に逆らって立ち、かれらを殺させるであろう。
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:22 またあなたがたは、わたしの名ゆえにすべての人に憎まれるであろう。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。
10:22 And all of you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
10:23 一つの町で迫害されたなら、他の町へ逃げなさい。よく言っておく。あなたがたがイスラエルの町々を回り終わらないうちに、人の子は来るであろう。
10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee all of you into another: for verily I say unto you, All of you shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
10:24 弟子はその師以上のものではなく、僕はその主人以上の者ではない。
10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
10:25 弟子がその師のようであり、僕がその主人のようであれば、それで十分である。もし家の主人がベルゼブルと言われるならば、その家の者どもはなおさら、どんなにか悪く言われることであろう。
10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
10:26 だから彼らを恐れるな。おおわれたもので、現れてこないものはなく、隠れているもので、知られてこないものはない。
10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
10:27 わたしが暗やみであなたがたに話すことを、明るみで言え。耳でささやかれたことを、屋根の上で言いひろめよ。
10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak all of you in light: and what all of you hear in the ear, that preach all of you upon the housetops.
10:28 また、からだを殺しても、魂を殺すことのできない者どもをを恐れるな。むしろ、からだも魂も地獄で滅ぼす力のあるかたを恐れなさい。
10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
10:29 二羽のすずめは一アサリオンで売られているではないか。その一羽も地に落ちることはない。
10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
10:30 またあなたがたの頭の毛までも、みな数えられている。
10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
10:31 それだから、恐れることはない。あなたがたは多くのすずめよりも、まさった者である。
10:31 Fear all of you not therefore, all of you are of more value than many sparrows.
10:32 だから人の前でわたしを受けいれる者を、わたしもまた、天にいます私の父の前で受けいれるであろう。
10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
10:33 しかし、人の前でわたしを拒む者を、わたしも天にいます私の父の前で拒むであろう。
10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
10:34 地上に平和をもたらすために、わたしがきたと思うな。平和ではなく、つるぎを投げ込むためにきたのである。
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
10:35 わたしがきたのは、人をその父と、娘をその母と、嫁をそのしゅうとめと仲たがいさせるためであろ。
10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
10:36 そして家の者が、その人の適となるであろう。
10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
10:37 わたしよりも父または母を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。わたしよりも息子や娘を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。
10:37 He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
10:38 また自分の十字架をとってわたしに従ってこない者はわたしにふさわしくない。
10:38 And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.
10:39 自分の命を得ている者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分の命を失っている者は、それを得るであろう。
10:39 He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.
10:40 あなたがたを受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。わたしを受けいれる者は、わたしをあつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである。
10:40 He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me.
10:41 預言者の名ゆえに預言者を受けいれる者は、預言者の報いを受け、義人の名ゆえに義人を受けいれる者は、義人の報いを受けるであろう。
10:41 He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
10:42 わたしの弟子であるという名ゆえに、この小さい者のひとりに冷たい水一杯でも飲ませてくれる者は、よく言っておくが、決してその報いからもれることはない。」
10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
