Jeremiah / JEREMIAS

41:1 Sucedeu, porém, no mês sétimo, que veio Ismael, filho de Netanias, filho de Elisama, de sangue real, e um dos nobres do rei, e dez homens com ele, a Gedalias, filho de Aicão, a Mizpá; e eles comeram pão juntos ali em Mizpá.

41:1 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.

41:2 E levantou-se Ismael, filho de Netanias, com os dez homens que estavam com ele, e feriram a Gedalias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safã, r espada, matando assim aquele que o rei de Babilônia havia posto por governador sobre a terra.

41:2 Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and stroke Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

41:3 Matou também Ismael a todos os judeus que estavam com Gedalias, em Mizpá, como também aos soldados caldeus que se achavam ali.

41:3 Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the men of war.

41:4 Sucedeu pois no dia seguinte, depois que ele matara a Gedalias, sem ninguém o saber,

41:4 And it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedaliah, and no man knew it,

41:5 que vieram de Siquém, de Siló e de Samária, oitenta homens, com a barba rapada, e os vestidos rasgados e tendo as carnes retalhadas, trazendo nas mãos ofertas de cereais e incenso, para os levarem r casa do Senhor.

41:5 That there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.

41:6 E, saindo-lhes ao encontro Ismael, filho de Netanias, desde Mizpá, ia chorando; e sucedeu que, encontrando-os, lhes disse: Vinde a Gedalias, filho de Aicão.

41:6 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.

41:7 Chegando eles, porém, até o meio da cidade, Ismael, filho de Netanias, e os homens que estavam com ele mataram-nos e os lançaram num poço.

41:7 And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men that were with him.

41:8 Mas entre eles se acharam dez homens que disseram a Ismael: Não nos mates a nós, porque temos escondidos no campo depósitos de trigo, cevada, azeite e mel. E ele por isso os deixou, e não os matou entre seus irmãos.

41:8 But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he ceased, and slew them not among their brethren.

41:9 E o poço em que Ismael lançou todos os cadáveres dos homens que matara por causa de Gedalias é o mesmo que fez o rei Asa, por causa de Baasa, rei de Israel; foi esse mesmo que Ismael, filho de Netanias, encheu de mortos.

41:9 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slain.

41:10 E Ismael levou cativo a todo o resto do povo que estava em Mizpá: as filhas do rei, e todo o povo que ficara em Mizpá, que Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, havia confiado a Gedalias, filho de Aicão; e levou-os cativos Ismael, filho de Netanias, e se foi para passar aos filhos de Amom.

41:10 Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites.

41:11 Ouvindo, porém, Joanã, filho de Careá, e todos os chefes das forças que estavam com ele, todo o mal que havia feito Ismael, filho de Netanias,

41:11 But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,

41:12 tomaram todos os seus homens e foram pelejar contra Ismael, filho de Netanias; e o acharam ao pé das grandes águas que há em Gibeão.

41:12 Then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.

41:13 E todo o povo que estava com Ismael se alegrou quando viu a Joanã, filho de Careá, e a todos os chefes das forças, que vinham com ele.

41:13 Now it came to pass, that when all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad.

41:14 E todo o povo que Ismael levara cativo de Mizpá virou as costas, e voltou, e foi para Joanã, filho de Careá.

41:14 So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah cast about and returned, and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah.

41:15 Mas Ismael, filho de Netanias, com oito homens, escapou de Joanã e se foi para os filhos de Amom.

41:15 But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites.

41:16 Então Joanã, filho de Careá, e todos os chefes das forças que estavam com ele, tomaram a todo o resto do povo que Ismael, filho de Netanias, tinha levado cativo de Mizpá, depois que matara Gedalias, filho de Aicão, a saber, aos soldados, as mulheres, aos meninos e aos eunucos, que Joanã havia recobrado de Gibeão,

41:16 Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:

41:17 e partiram, indo habitar Gerute-Quimã, que está perto de Belém, para dali entrarem no Egito,

41:17 And they departed, and dwelt in the habitation of Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,

41:18 por causa dos caldeus; pois os temiam, por ter Ismael, filho de Netanias, matado a Gedalias, filho de Aicão, a quem o rei de Babilônia tinha posto por governador sobre a terra.

41:18 Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land.

42:1 Então chegaram todos os chefes das forças, e Joanã, filho de Careá, e Jezanias, filho de Hosaías, e todo o povo, desde o menor até o maior,

42:1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

42:2 e disseram a Jeremias, o profeta: Seja aceita, pedimos-te, a nossa súplica diante de ti, e roga ao Senhor teu Deus, por nós e por todo este resto; porque de muitos restamos somente uns poucos, assim como nos vêem os teus olhos;

42:2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we plead to you, our supplication be accepted before you, and pray for us unto the LORD your God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as yours eyes do behold us:)

42:3 para que o Senhor teu Deus nos ensine o caminho por onde havemos de andar e aquilo que havemos de fazer.

42:3 That the LORD your God may show us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.

42:4 Respondeu-lhes Jeremias o profeta: Eu vos tenho ouvido; eis que orarei ao Senhor vosso Deus conforme as vossas palavras; e o que o Senhor vos responder, eu vo-lo declararei; não vos ocultarei nada.

42:4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

42:5 Então eles disseram a Jeremias: Seja o Senhor entre nós testemunha verdadeira e fiel, se assim não fizermos conforme toda a palavra com que te enviar a nós o Senhor teu Deus.

42:5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD your God shall send you to us.

42:6 Seja ela boa, ou seja má, r voz do Senhor nosso Deus, a quem te enviamos, obedeceremos, para que nos suceda bem, obedecendo r voz do Senhor nosso Deus.

42:6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

42:7 Ao fim de dez dias veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias.

42:7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.

42:8 Então chamou a Joanã, filho de Careá, e a todos os chefes das forças que havia com ele, e a todo o povo, desde o menor até o maior,

42:8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

42:9 e lhes disse: Assim diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel, a quem me enviastes para apresentar a vossa súplica diante dele:

42:9 And said unto them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom all of you sent me to present your supplication before him;

42:10 Se de boa mente habitardes nesta terra, então vos edificarei, e não vos derrubarei; e vos plantarei, e não vos arrancarei; porque estou arrependido do mal que vos tenho feito.

42:10 If all of you will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

42:11 Não temais o rei de Babilônia, a quem vós temeis; não o temais, diz o Senhor; pois eu sou convosco, para vos salvar e para vos livrar da sua mão.

42:11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom all of you are afraid; be not afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

42:12 E vos concederei misericórdia, para que ele tenha misericórdia de vós, e vos faça habitar na vossa terra.

42:12 And I will show mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.

42:13 Mas se vós disserdes: Não habitaremos nesta terra; não obedecendo r voz do Senhor vosso Deus,

42:13 But if all of you say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,

42:14 e dizendo: Não; antes iremos para a terra do Egito, onde não veremos guerra, nem ouviremos o som de trombeta, nem teremos fome de pão, e ali habitaremos;

42:14 Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

42:15 nesse caso ouvi a palavra do Senhor, ó resto de Judá: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Se vós de todo vos propuserdes a entrar no Egito, e entrardes para lá peregrinar,

42:15 And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you remnant of Judah; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; If all of you wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;

42:16 então a espada que vós temeis vos alcançará ali na terra do Egito, e a fome que vós receais vos seguirá de perto mesmo no Egito, e ali morrereis.

42:16 Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which all of you feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof all of you were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there all of you shall die.

42:17 Assim sucederá a todos os homens que se propuserem a entrar no Egito, a fim de lá peregrinarem: morrerão r espada, de fome, e de peste; e deles não haverá quem reste ou escape do mal que eu trarei sobre eles.

42:17 So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.

42:18 Pois assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Como se derramou a minha ira e a minha indignação sobre os habitantes de Jerusalém, assim se derramará a minha indignação sobre vós, quando entrardes no Egito. Sereis um espetáculo de execração, e de espanto, e de maldição, e de opróbrio; e não vereis mais este lugar.

42:18 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury has been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when all of you shall enter into Egypt: and all of you shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and all of you shall see this place no more.

42:19 Falou o Senhor acerca de vós, ó resto de Judá: Não entreis no Egito. Tende por certo que hoje vos tenho avisado.

42:19 The LORD has said concerning you, O all of you remnant of Judah; Go all of you not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

42:20 Porque vós vos enganastes a vós mesmos; pois me enviastes ao Senhor vosso Deus, dizendo: Roga por nós ao Senhor nosso Deus, e conforme tudo o que disser o Senhor Deus nosso, declara-no-lo assim, e o faremos.

42:20 For all of you dissembled in your hearts, when all of you sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.

42:21 E vo-lo tenho declarado hoje, mas não destes ouvidos r voz do Senhor vosso Deus em coisa alguma pela qual ele me enviou a vos.

42:21 And now I have this day declared it to you; but all of you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he has sent me unto you.

42:22 Agora pois sabei por certo que morrereis r espada, de fome e de peste no mesmo lugar onde desejais ir para lá peregrinardes.

42:22 Now therefore know certainly that all of you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where all of you desire to go and to sojourn.

Jeremiah / JEREMIAS

43:1 Tendo Jeremias acabado de falar a todo o povo todas as palavras do Senhor seu Deus, aquelas palavras com as quais o Senhor seu Deus lho havia enviado,

43:1 And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

43:2 então falaram Azarias, filho de Hosaías, e Joanã, filho de Careá, e todos os homens soberbos, dizendo a Jeremias: Tu dizes mentiras; o Senhor nosso Deus não te enviou a dizer: Não entreis no Egito para ali peregrinardes;

43:2 Then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, You speak falsely: the LORD our God has not sent you to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

43:3 mas Baruque, filho de Nerias, é que te incita contra nós, para nos entregar na mão dos caldeus, para eles nos matarem, ou para nos levarem cativos para Babilônia.

43:3 But Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, in order to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.

43:4 Não obedeceu pois Joanã, filho de Careá, nem nenhum de todos os príncipes dos exércitos, nem o povo todo, r voz do Senhor, para ficarem na terra de Judá.

43:4 So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.

43:5 Mas Joanã, filho de Careá, e todos os chefes das forças tomaram a todo o resto de Judá, que havia voltado dentre todas as nações, para onde haviam sido arrojados, com o fim de peregrinarem na terra de Judá;

43:5 But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations, where they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;

43:6 aos homens, rs mulheres, rs crianças, e rs filhas do rei, e a toda pessoa que Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, deixara com Gedalias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safã, como também a Jeremias, o profeta, e a Baruque, filho de Nerias;

43:6 Even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.

43:7 e entraram na terra do Egito; pois não obedeceram r voz do Senhor; assim vieram até Tapanes.

43:7 So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they even to Tahpanhes.

43:8 Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, em Tapanes, dizendo:

43:8 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

43:9 Toma na tua mão pedras grandes, e esconde-as com barro no pavimento que está r entrada da casa de Faraó em Tapanes, r vista dos homens de Judá;

43:9 Take great stones in yours hand, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

43:10 e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que eu enviarei, e tomarei a Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, meu servo, e porei o seu trono sobre estas pedras que escondi; e ele estenderá o seu pavilhão real sobre elas.

43:10 And say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

43:11 Virá, e ferirá a terra do Egito, entregando r morte quem é para a morte, ao cativeiro quem é para o cativeiro, e r espada.

43:11 And when he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.

43:12 E lançarei fogo rs casas dos deuses do Egito; e ele os queimará e os levará cativos; e ornar-se-á da terra do Egito, como se veste o pastor com a sua roupa; e sairá dali em paz.

43:12 And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

43:13 E quebrará as colunas de Bete-Semes, que está na terra do Egito; e as casas dos deuses do Egito queimará a fogo.

43:13 He shall break also the images of Bethshemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.

44:1 A palavra que veio a Jeremias, acerca de todos os judeus, que habitavam na terra do Egito, em Migdol, em Tapanes, em Mênfis, e no país de Patros:

44:1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

44:2 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Vós vistes todo o mal que fiz cair sobre Jerusalém, e sobre todas as cidades de Judá; e eis que elas são hoje uma desolação, e ninguém nelas habita;

44:2 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; All of you have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein,

44:3 por causa da sua maldade que fizeram, para me irarem, indo queimar incenso, e servir a outros deuses, a quem eles nunca conheceram, nem eles, nem vós, nem vossos pais.

44:3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, all of you, nor your fathers.

44:4 Todavia eu vos enviei persistentemente todos os meus servos, os profetas, para vos dizer: Ora, não façais esta coisa abominável que odeio!

44:4 Nevertheless I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.

44:5 Mas eles não escutaram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, para se converterem da sua maldade, para não queimarem incenso a outros deuses.

44:5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.

44:6 Pelo que se derramou a minha indignação e a minha ira, e acendeu-se nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém; e elas tornaram-se em deserto e em desolação, como hoje se vê.

44:6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.

44:7 Agora, pois, assim diz o Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Por que fazeis vós tão grande mal contra vós mesmos, para desarraigardes o homem e a mulher, a criança e o que mama, dentre vós, do meio de Judá, a fim de não vos deixardes ali resto algum;

44:7 Therefore now thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit all of you this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and nursing infant, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;

44:8 irando-me com as obras de vossas mãos, queimando incenso a outros deuses na terra do Egito, aonde vós entrastes para lá peregrinardes, para que sejais exterminados, e para que sirvais de maldição e de opróbrio entre todas as nações da terra?

44:8 In that all of you provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, where all of you be gone to dwell, that all of you might cut yourselves off, and that all of you might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

44:9 Esquecestes já as maldades de vossos pais, as maldades dos reis de Judá, as maldades das suas mulheres, as vossas maldades e as maldades das vossas mulheres, cometidas na terra de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém?

44:9 Have all of you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?

44:10 Não se humilharam até o dia de hoje, nem temeram, nem andaram na minha lei, nem nos meus estatutos, que pus diante de vós e diante de vossos pais.

44:10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

44:11 Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que eu ponho o meu rosto contra vós para mal, e para desarraigar todo o Judá.

44:11 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.

44:12 E tomarei os que restam de Judá, os quais puseram o seu rosto para entrar na terra do Egito, a fim de lá peregrinarem, e todos eles serão consumidos; na terra do Egito cairão; r espada, e de fome serão consumidos; desde o menor até o maior morrerão r espada e de fome; e tornar-se-ão um espetáculo de execração, de espanto, de maldição e de opróbrio.

44:12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.

44:13 Pois castigarei os que habitam na terra do Egito, como castiguei Jerusalém, com a espada, a fome e a peste.

44:13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:

44:14 De maneira que, da parte remanescente de Judá que entrou na terra do Egito a fim de lá peregrinar, não haverá quem escape e fique para tornar r terra de Judá, r qual era seu grande desejo voltar, para ali habitar; mas não voltarão, senão um pugilo de fugitivos.

44:14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.

44:15 Então responderam a Jeremias todos os homens que sabiam que suas mulheres queimavam incenso a outros deuses, e todas as mulheres que estavam presentes, uma grande multidão, a saber, todo o povo que habitava na terra do Egito, em Patros, dizendo:

44:15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

44:16 Quanto r palavra que nos anunciaste em nome do Senhor, não te obedeceremos a ti;

44:16 As for the word that you have spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto you.

44:17 mas certamente cumpriremos toda a palavra que saiu da nossa boca, de queimarmos incenso r rainha do céu, e de lhe oferecermos libações, como nós e nossos pais, nossos reis e nossos príncipes, temos feito, nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém; então tínhamos fartura de pão, e prosperávamos, e não vimos mal algum.

44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

44:18 Mas desde que cessamos de queimar incenso r rainha do céu, e de lhe oferecer libações, temos tido falta de tudo, e temos sido consumidos pela espada e pela fome.

44:18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

44:19 E nós, as mulheres, quando queimávamos incenso r rainha do céu, e lhe oferecíamos libações, acaso lhe fizemos bolos para a adorar e lhe oferecemos libações sem nossos maridos?

44:19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

44:20 Então disse Jeremias a todo o povo, aos homens e rs mulheres, e a todo o povo que lhe havia dado essa resposta, dizendo:

44:20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,

44:21 Porventura não se lembrou o Senhor, e não lhe veio r mente o incenso que queimastes nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém, vós e vossos pais, vossos reis e vossos príncipes, como tambem o povo da terra?

44:21 The incense that all of you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, all of you, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?

44:22 O Senhor não podia por mais tempo suportar a maldade das vossas ações, as abominações que cometestes; pelo que se tornou a vossa terra em desolação, e em espanto, e em maldição, sem habitantes, como hoje se vê.

44:22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which all of you have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.

44:23 Porquanto queimastes incenso, e pecastes contra o Senhor, não obedecendo r voz do Senhor, nem andando na sua lei, nos seus estatutos e nos seus testemunhos; por isso vos sobreveio este mal, como se vê neste dia.

44:23 Because all of you have burned incense, and because all of you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

44:24 Disse mais Jeremias a todo o povo e a todas as mulheres: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, vós, todo o Judá, que estais na terra do Egito.

44:24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:

44:25 Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, dizendo: Vós e vossas mulheres falastes por vossa boca, e com as vossas mãos o cumpristes, dizendo: Certamente cumpriremos os nossos votos que fizemos, de queimarmos incenso r rainha do céu e de lhe derramarmos libações; confirmai, pois, os vossos votos, e cumpri-os!

44:25 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; All of you and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: all of you will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

44:26 Ouvi, pois, a palavra do Senhor, todos os de Judá que habitais na terra do Egito: Eis que eu juro pelo meu grande nome, diz o Senhor, que nunca mais será pronunciado o meu nome pela boca de nenhum homem de Judá em toda a terra do Egito, dizendo: Como vive o Senhor Deus!

44:26 Therefore hear all of you the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD lives.

44:27 Eis que velarei sobre eles para o mal, e não para o bem; e serão consumidos todos os homens de Judá que estão na terra do Egito, pela espada e pela fome, até que de todo se acabem.

44:27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

44:28 E os que escaparem da espada voltarão da terra do Egito para a terra de Judá, poucos em número; e saberá todo o resto de Judá que entrou na terra do Egito para peregrinar ali, se subsistirá a minha palavra ou a sua.

44:28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or their's.

44:29 E isto vos servirá de sinal, diz o Senhor, de que eu vos castigarei neste lugar, para que saibais que certamente subsistirão as minhas palavras contra vós para o mal:

44:29 And this shall be a sign unto you, says the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that all of you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

44:30 Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que eu entregarei Faraó-Hofra, rei do Egito, na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que procuram a sua morte; como entreguei Zedequias, rei de Judá, na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, seu inimigo, e que procurava a sua morte.

44:30 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

45:1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

45:2 Assim diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel, acerca de ti ó Baruque.

45:2 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto you, O Baruch:

45:3 Disseste: Ai de mim agora! porque me acrescentou o Senhor tristeza r minha dor; estou cansado do meu gemer, e não acho descanso.

45:3 You did say, Woe is me now! for the LORD has added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

45:4 Isto lhe dirás: Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que estou a demolir o que edifiquei, e a arrancar o que plantei, e isso em toda esta terra.

45:4 Thus shall you say unto him, The LORD says thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

45:5 E procuras tu grandezas para ti mesmo? Não as busques; pois eis que estou trazendo o mal sobre toda a raça, diz o Senhor; porém te darei a tua vida por despojo, em todos os lugares para onde fores.

45:5 And seek you great things for yourself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the LORD: but your life will I give unto you for a prey in all places where you go.

46:1 A palavra do Senhor, que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, acerca das nações.

46:1 The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;

46:2 Acerca do Egito: a respeito do exército de Faraó-Neco, rei do Egito, que estava junto ao rio Eufrates em Carquêmis, ao qual Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, derrotou no quarto ano de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá.

46:2 Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon stroke in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.

46:3 Preparai o escudo e o pavês, e chegai-vos para a peleja.

46:3 Order all of you the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.

46:4 Aparelhai os cavalos, e montai, cavaleiros! Apresentai-vos com elmos; açacalai as lanças; vesti-vos de couraças.

46:4 Harness the horses; and get up, all of you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; polish the spears, and put on the protective armor.

46:5 Por que razão os vejo espantados e voltando as costas? Os seus heróis estão abatidos, e vão fugindo, sem olharem para trás; terror há por todos os lados, diz o Senhor.

46:5 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled swiftly, and look not back: for fear was round about, says the LORD.

46:6 Não pode fugir o ligeiro, nem escapar o herói; para a banda do norte, junto ao rio Eufrates, tropeçaram e caíram.

46:6 Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

46:7 Quem é este que vem subindo como o Nilo, como rios cujas águas se agitam?

46:7 Who is this that comes up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

46:8 O Egito é que vem subindo como o Nilo, e como rios cujas águas se agitam; e ele diz: Subirei, cobrirei a terra; destruirei a cidade e os que nela habitam.

46:8 Egypt rises up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he says, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.

46:9 Subi, ó cavalos; e estrondeai, ó carros; e saiam valentes: Cuche e Pute, que manejam o escudo, e os de Lude, que manejam e entesam o arco.

46:9 Come up, all of you horses; and rage, all of you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.

46:10 Porque aquele dia é o dia do Senhor Deus dos exércitos, dia de vingança para ele se vingar dos seus adversários. A espada devorará, e se fartará, e se embriagará com o sangue deles; pois o Senhor Deus dos exércitos tem um sacrifício na terra do Norte junto ao rio Eufrates.

46:10 For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

46:11 Sobe a Gileade, e toma bálsamo, ó virgem filha do Egito; debalde multiplicas remédios; não há cura para ti.

46:11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shall you use many medicines; for you shall not be cured.

46:12 As nações ouviram falar da tua vergonha, e a terra está cheia do teu clamor; porque o valente tropeçou no valente e ambos juntos cairam.

46:12 The nations have heard of your shame, and your cry has filled the land: for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.

46:14 Anunciai-o no Egito, proclamai isto em Migdol; proclamai-o também em Mênfis, e em Tapanes; dizei: Apresenta-te, e prepara-te; porque a espada devorará o que está ao redor de ti.

46:14 Declare all of you in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say all of you, Stand fast, and prepare you; for the sword shall devour round about you.

46:15 Por que está derribado o teu valente? Ele não ficou em pé, porque o Senhor o abateu.

46:15 Why are your valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.

46:16 Fez tropeçar a multidão; caíram uns sobre os outros, e disseram: Levanta-te, e voltemos para o nosso povo, para a terra do nosso nascimento, por causa da espada que oprime.

46:16 He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.

46:17 Clamaram ali: Faraó, rei do Egito, é apenas um som; deixou passar o tempo assinalado.

46:17 They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has passed the time appointed.

46:18 Vivo eu, diz o Rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos, que certamente como o Tabor entre os montes, e como o Carmelo junto ao mar, assim ele vira.

46:18 As I live, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he comes.

46:19 Prepara-te para ires para o cativeiro, ó moradora filha do Egito; porque Mênfis será tornada em desolação, e será incendiada, até que ninguém mais aí more.

46:19 O you daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.

46:20 Novilha mui formosa é o Egito; mas já lhe vem do Norte um tavão.

46:20 Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction comes; it comes out of the north.

46:21 Até os seus mercenários no meio dela são como bezerros cevados; mas também eles viraram as costas, fugiram juntos, não ficaram firmes; porque veio sobre eles o dia da sua ruína e o tempo da sua punição.

46:21 Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.

46:22 A sua voz irá como a da serpente; porque marcharão com um exército, e virão contra ela com machados, como cortadores de lenha.

46:22 The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

46:23 They shall cut down her forest, says the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.

46:24 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

46:25 The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, says; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:

46:26 E os entregarei na mão dos que procuram a sua morte, na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e na mão dos seus servos; mas depois será habitada, como nos dias antigos, diz o Senhor.

46:26 And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says the LORD.

46:27 Mas não temas tu, servo meu, Jacó, nem te espantes, ó Israel; pois eis que te livrarei mesmo de longe, e a tua descendência da terra do seu cativeiro; e Jacó voltará, e ficará tranqüilo e sossegado, e não haverá quem o atemorize.

46:27 But fear not you, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save you from far off, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

46:28 Tu não temas, servo meu, Jacó, diz o senhor; porque estou contigo; pois destruirei totalmente todas as nações para onde te arrojei; mas a ti não te destruirei de todo, mas castigar-te-ei com justiça, e de modo algum te deixarei impune.

46:28 Fear you not, O Jacob my servant, says the LORD: for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you: but I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet will I not leave you wholly unpunished.

47:1 A palavra do Senhor que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, acerca dos filisteus, antes que Faraó ferisse a Gaza.

47:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh stroke Gaza.

47:2 Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que do Norte se levantam as águas, e tornar-se-ão em torrente trasbordante, e alagarão a terra e quanto há nela, a cidade e os que nela habitam; os homens clamarão, e todos os habitantes da terra uivarão,

47:2 Thus says the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

47:3 ao ruído estrepitoso das unhas dos seus fortes cavalos, ao barulho de seus carros, ao estrondo das suas rodas; os pais não atendem aos filhos, por causa da fraqueza das mãos,

47:3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

47:4 por causa do dia que vem para destruir a todos os filisteus, para cortar de Tiro e de Sidom todo o resto que os socorra; pois o Senhor destruirá os filisteus, o resto da ilha de Caftor.

47:4 Because of the day that comes to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remains: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

47:5 A calvicie é vinda sobre Gaza; foi desarraigada Asquelom, bem como o resto do seu vale; até quando te sarjarás?

47:5 Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long will you cut yourself?

47:6 Ah espada do Senhor! até quando deixarás de repousar? volta para a tua bainha; descansa, e aquieta-te.

47:6 O you sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you be quiet? put up yourself into your scabbard, rest, and be still.

47:7 Como podes estar quieta, se o Senhor te deu uma ordem? Contra Asquelom, e contra o litoral, é que ele a enviou.

47:7 How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD has given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there has he appointed it.

48:1 Acerca de Moabe. Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Ai de Nebo, porque foi destruída; envergonhada está Quiriataim, já é tomada; Misgabe está envergonhada e espantada.

48:1 Against Moab thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

48:2 O louvor de Moabe já não existe mais; em Hesbom projetaram mal contra ela, dizendo: Vinde, e exterminemo-la, para que não mais seja nação; também tu, ó Madmém, serás destruída; a espada te perseguirá.

48:2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also you shall be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue you.

48:3 Voz de grito de Horonaim, ruína e grande destruição!

48:3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.

48:4 Está destruído Moabe; seus filhinhos fizeram ouvir um clamor.

48:4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

48:5 Pois pela subida de Luíte eles vão subindo com choro contínuo; porque na descida de Horonaim, ouviram a angústia do grito da destruição.

48:5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

48:6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

48:7 Pois, porquanto confiaste nas tuas obras e nos teus tesouros, também tu serás tomada; e Quemós sairá para o cativeiro, os seus sacerdotes e os seus príncipes juntamente.

48:7 For because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you shall also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

48:8 Porque virá o destruidor sobre cada uma das cidades e nenhuma escapará, e perecerá o vale, e destruir-se-á a planície, como disse o Senhor.

48:8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD has spoken.

48:9 Dai asas a Moabe, porque voando sairá; e as suas cidades se tornarão em desolação, sem habitante.

48:9 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.

48:10 Maldito aquele que fizer a obra do Senhor negligentemente, e maldito aquele que vedar do sangue a sua espada!

48:10 Cursed be he that does the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keeps back his sword from blood.

48:11 Moabe tem estado sossegado desde a sua mocidade, e tem repousado como vinho sobre as fezes; não foi deitado de vasilha em vasilha, nem foi para o cativeiro; por isso permanece nele o seu sabor, e o seu cheiro não se altera.

48:11 Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his sediments of wine, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

48:12 Portanto, eis que os dias vêm, diz o Senhor, em que lhe enviarei derramadores que o derramarão; e despejarão as suas vasilhas, e despedaçarão os seus jarros.

48:12 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

48:13 E Moabe terá vergonha de Quemós, como se envergonhou a casa de Israel de Betel, sua confiança.

48:13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.

48:14 Como direis: Somos valentes e homens fortes para a guerra?

48:14 How say all of you, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

48:15 Já subiu o destruidor de Moabe e das suas cidades, e os seus mancebos escolhidos desceram r matança, diz o Rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos.

48:15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

48:16 A calamidade de Moabe está perto e muito se apressa o seu mal.

48:16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hastes fast.

48:17 Condoei-vos dele todos os que estais em seu redor, e todos os que sabeis o seu nome; dizei: Como se quebrou a vara forte, o cajado formoso!

48:17 All you that are about him, lament for him; and all you that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

48:18 Desce da tua glória, e senta-te no pó, ó moradora, filha de Dibom; porque o destruidor de Moabe subiu contra ti, e desfez as tuas fortalezas.

48:18 You daughter that do inhabit Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon you, and he shall destroy your strong holds.

48:19 Põe-te junto ao caminho, e espia, ó moradora do Aroer; pergunta ao que foge, e r que escapa: Que sucedeu?

48:19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and monitor; ask him that flees, and her that escapes, and say, What is done?

48:20 Moabe está envergonhado, porque foi quebrantado; uivai e gritai; anunciai em Arnom que Moabe está destruído.

48:20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell all of you it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,

48:21 Também o julgamento é vindo sobre a terra da planície; sobre Holom, Jaza, e Mefaate;

48:21 And judgment has come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

48:22 sobre Dibom, Nebo, e Bete-Diblataim;

48:22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,

48:23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,

48:24 sobre Queriote, e Bozra, e todas as cidades da terra de Moabe, as de longe e as de perto.

48:24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

48:25 Está cortado o poder de Moabe, e quebrantado o seu braço, diz o senhor.

48:25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, says the LORD.

48:26 Embriagai-o, porque contra o Senhor se engrandeceu; e Moabe se revolverá no seu vômito, e ele também se tornará objeto de escárnio.

48:26 Make all of you him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

48:27 Pois não se tornou também Israel objeto de escárnio para ti? Porventura foi achado entre ladrões para que, sempre que falas dele, meneies a cabeça?

48:27 For was not Israel a derision unto you? was he found among thieves? for since you spoke of him, you skipped for joy.

48:28 Deixai as cidades, e habitai no rochedo, ó moradores de Moabe; e sede como a pomba que se aninha nos lados da boca da caverna.

48:28 O all of you that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that makes her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.

48:29 Temos ouvido da soberba de Moabe, que é soberbíssimo; da sua sobrançaria, do seu orgulho, da sua arrogância, e da altivez do seu coração.

48:29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

48:30 Eu conheço, diz o Senhor, a sua insolência, mas isso nada é; as suas jactâncias nada têm efetuado.

48:30 I know his wrath, says the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.

48:31 Por isso uivarei por Moabe; sim, gritarei por todo o Moabe; pelos homens de Quir-Heres lamentarei.

48:31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.

48:32 Com choro maior do que o de Jazer chorar-te-ei, ó vide de Sibma; os teus ramos passaram o mar, chegaram até o mar de Jazer; mas o destruidor caiu sobre os teus frutos de verão, e sobre a tua vindima.

48:32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for you with the weeping of Jazer: your plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon your summer fruits and upon your vintage.

48:33 Tirou-se, pois, a alegria e o regozijo do campo fértil e da terra de Moabe; e fiz que o vinho cessasse dos lagares; já não pisam uvas com júbilo; o brado não é o de júbilo

48:33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

48:34 O grito de Hesbom e Eleale se ouve até Jaza; fazem ouvir a sua voz desde Zoar até Horonaim, e até Eglate-Selíssia; pois também as águas do Ninrim virão a ser uma desolação.

48:34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

48:35 Demais, farei desaparecer de Moabe, diz o Senhor, aquele que sacrifica nos altos, e queima incenso a seus deuses.

48:35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, says the LORD, him that offers in the high places, and him that burns incense to his gods.

48:36 Por isso geme como flauta o meu coração por Moabe, e como flauta geme o meu coração pelos homens de Quir-Heres; porquanto a abundância que ajuntou se perdeu.

48:36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he has got are perished.

48:37 Pois toda cabeça é tosquiada, e toda barba rapada; sobre todas as mãos há sarjaduras, e sobre os lombos sacos.

48:37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

48:38 Sobre todos os eirados de Moabe e nas suas ruas há um pranto geral; porque quebrei a Moabe, como a um vaso que não agrada, diz o Senhor.

48:38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, says the LORD.

48:39 Como está quebrantrado! como uivam! como virou Moabe as costas envergonhado! assim se tornou Moabe objeto de escárnio e de espanto para todos os que estão em redor dele.

48:39 They shall wail, saying, How is it broken down! how has Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.

48:40 Pois assim diz o Senhor: Eis que alguém voará como a águia, e estenderá as suas asas contra Moabe.

48:40 For thus says the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

48:41 Tomadas serão as cidades, e ocupadas as fortalezas; e naquele dia será o coração dos valentes de Moabe como o coração da mulher em suas dores de parto.

48:41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

48:42 E Moabe será destruído, para que não seja povo, porque se engrandeceu contra o Senhor.

48:42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against the LORD.

48:43 Temor, e cova, e laço estão sobre ti, ó morador de Moabe, diz o Senhor.

48:43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon you, O inhabitant of Moab, says the LORD.

48:44 O que fugir do temor cairá na cova, e o que sair da cova ficará preso no laço; pois trarei sobre ele, sobre Moabe, o ano do seu castigo, diz o Senhor.

48:44 He that flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, says the LORD.

48:45 Os que fugiram ficam parados sem forças r sombra de Hesbom; mas fogo saiu de Hesbom, e a labareda do meio de Siom, e devorou a fronte de Moabe e o alto da cabeça dos turbulentos.

48:45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

48:46 Ai de ti, Moabe! pereceu o povo de Quemós; pois teus filhos foram levados cativos, e tuas filhas para o cativeiro.

48:46 Woe be unto you, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perishes: for your sons are taken captives, and your daughters captives.

48:47 Contudo nos últimos dias restaurarei do cativeiro a Moabe, diz o Senhor. Até aqui o juizo de Moabe.

48:47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, says the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

Jeremiah / JEREMIAS

49:1 A respeito dos filhos de Amom. Assim diz o Senhor: Acaso Israel não tem filhos? Não tem herdeiro? Por que, então, possui Milcom a Gade, e o seu povo habita nas suas cidades?

49:1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus says the LORD; Has Israel no sons? has he no heir? why then does their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

49:2 Portanto, eis que vêm os dias, diz o Senhor, em que farei ouvir contra Rabá dos filhos de Amom o alarido de guerra, e tornar-se-á num montão de ruínas, e os seus arrabaldes serão queimados a fogo; então Israel deserdará aos que e deserdaram a ele, diz o Senhor.

49:2 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, says the LORD.

49:3 Uiva, ó Hesbom, porque é destruída Ai; clamai, ó filhas de Rabá, cingi-vos de sacos; lamentai, e dai voltas pelas sebes; porque Milcom irá em cativeiro, juntamente com os seus sacerdotes e os seus príncipes.

49:3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, all of you daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run back and forth by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

49:4 Por que te glorias nos vales, teus luxuriantes vales, ó filha apóstata? que confias nos teus tesouros, dizendo: Quem virá contra mim?

49:4 Wherefore glory you in the valleys, your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?

49:5 Eis que farei vir sobre ti pavor, diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos, de todos os que estão ao redor de ti; e sereis lançados fora, cada um para diante, e ninguém recolherá o desgarrado.

49:5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon you, says the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about you; and all of you shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wanders.

49:6 Mas depois disto farei voltar do cativeiro os filhos de Amom, diz o senhor.

49:6 And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, says the LORD.

49:7 A respeito de Edom. Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Acaso não há mais sabedoria em Temã? Pereceu o conselho dos entendidos? Desvaneceu-se-lhes a sabedoria?

49:7 Concerning Edom, thus says the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

49:8 Fugi, voltai, habitai em profundezas, ó moradores de Dedã; porque trarei sobre ele a calamidade de Esaú, o tempo em que o punirei.

49:8 Flee all of you, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.

49:9 Se vindimadores viessem a ti, não deixariam alguns rabiscos? se ladrões de noite, não te danificariam só o quanto lhes bastasse?

49:9 If grape-gatherers come to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.

49:10 Mas eu desnudei a Esaú, descobri os seus esconderijos, de modo que ele não se poderá esconder. E despojada a sua descendência, como também seus irmãos e seus vizinhos, e ele já não existe.

49:10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

49:11 Deixa os teus órfãos, eu os guardarei em vida; e as tuas viúvas confiem em mim.

49:11 Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.

49:12 Pois assim diz o Senhor: Eis que os que não estavam condenados a beber o copo, certamente o beberão; e ficarias tu inteiramente impune? Não ficarás impune, mas certamente o beberás.

49:12 For thus says the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and are you he that shall altogether go unpunished? you shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink of it.

49:13 Pois por mim mesmo jurei, diz o Senhor, que Bozra servirá de objeto de espanto, de opróbrio, de ruína, e de maldição; e todas as suas cidades se tornarão em desolações perpétuas.

49:13 For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

49:14 Eu ouvi novas da parte do Senhor, que um embaixador é enviado por entre as nações para lhes dizer: Ajuntai-vos, e vinde contra ela, e levantai-vos para a guerra.

49:14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather all of you together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

49:15 Pois eis que te farei pequeno entre as nações, desprezado entre os homens.

49:15 For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen, and despised among men.

49:16 Quanto r tua terribilidade, enganou-te a arrogância do teu coração, ó tu que habitas nas cavernas dos penhascos, que ocupas as alturas dos outeiros; ainda que ponhas o teu ninho no alto como a águia, de lá te derrubarei, diz o Senhor.

49:16 Your terribleness has deceived you, and the pride of yours heart, O you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, that hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from thence, says the LORD.

49:17 E Edom se tornará em objeto de espanto; todo aquele que passar por ela se espantará, e assobiará por causa de todas as suas pragas.

49:17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

49:18 Como na subversão de Sodoma e Gomorra, e das cidades circunvizinhas, diz o Senhor, não habitará ninguém ali, nem peregrinará nela filho de homem.

49:18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

49:19 Eis que como leão subirá das margens do Jordão um inimigo contra a morada forte; mas de repente o farei correr dali; e ao escolhido, pô-lo-ei sobre ela. Pois quem é semelhante a mim? e quem me fixará um prazo? e quem é o pastor que me poderá resistir?

49:19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

49:20 Portanto ouvi o conselho do Senhor, que ele decretou contra Edom, e os seus desígnios, que ele intentou contra os moradores de Temã: Até os mais novos do rebanho serão arrastados; certamente ele assolará as suas moradas sobre eles.

49:20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

49:21 A terra estremecerá com o estrondo da sua queda; o som do seu clamor se ouvirá até o Mar Vermelho.

49:21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.

49:22 Eis que como águia subirá, e voará, e estenderá as suas asas contra Bozra; e o coração do valente de Edom naquele dia se tornará como o coração da mulher que está em dores de parto.

49:22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

49:23 A respeito de Damasco. Envergonhadas estão Hamate e Arpade, e se derretem de medo porquanto ouviram más notícias; estão agitadas como o mar, que não pode aquietar-se.

49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

49:24 Enfraquecida está Damasco, virou as costas para fugir, e o tremor apoderou-se dela; angústia e dores apossaram-se dela como da mulher que está de parto.

49:24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turns herself to flee, and fear has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

49:25 Como está abandonada a cidade famosa, a cidade da minha alegria!

49:25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

49:26 Portanto os seus jovens lhe cairão nas ruas, e todos os homens de guerra serão consumidos naquele dia, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

49:26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD of hosts.

49:27 E acenderei fogo no muro de Damasco, o qual consumirá os palácios de Bene-Hadade.

49:27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.

49:28 A respeito de Quedar, e dos reinos de Hazor, que Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, feriu. Assim diz o Senhor: Levantai-vos, subi contra Quedar, e destruí os filhos do Oriente.

49:28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall strike, thus says the LORD; Arise all of you, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

49:29 As suas tendas e os seus rebanhos serão tomados; as suas cortinas serão levadas, como também todos os seus vasos, e os seus camelos; e lhes gritarão: Há terror de todos os lados!

49:29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.

49:30 Fugi, desviai-vos para muito longe, habitai nas profundezas, ó moradores de Hazor, diz o Senhor; porque Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, tomou conselho contra vós, e formou um desígnio contra vós.

49:30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O all of you inhabitants of Hazor, says the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.

49:31 Levantai-vos, subi contra uma nação que está sossegada, que habita descuidada, diz o Senhor; que não tem portas nem ferrolhos, que habita a sós.

49:31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwells without care, says the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.

49:32 E os seus camelos serão para presa e a multidão do seu gado para despojo; e espalharei a todo o vento aqueles que cortam os cantos da sua cabeleira; e de todos os lados lhes trarei a sua calamidade, diz o Senhor.

49:32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, says the LORD.

49:33 Assim Hazor se tornará em morada de chacais, em desolação para sempre; ninguém habitará ali, nem peregrinará nela filho de homem.

49:33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.

49:34 A palavra do Senhor, que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, acerca de Elão, no princípio do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá, dizendo:

49:34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

49:35 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que eu quebrarei o arco de Elão, o principal do seu poder.

49:35 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

49:36 E trarei sobre Elão os quatro ventos dos quatro cantos dos céus, e os espalharei para todos estes ventos; e não haverá nação aonde não cheguem os fugitivos de Elão.

49:36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

49:37 E farei que Elão desfaleça diante de seus inimigos e diante dos que procuram a sua morte. Farei vir sobre eles o mal, o furor da minha ira, diz o Senhor; e enviarei após eles a espada, até que eu os tenha consumido.

49:37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

49:38 E porei o meu trono em Elão, e destruirei dali rei e príncipes, diz o Senhor.

49:38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, says the LORD.

49:39 Acontecerá, porém, nos últimos dias, que restaurarei do cativeiro a Elão, diz o Senhor.

49:39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, says the LORD.

Jeremiah / JEREMIAS

50:1 A palavra que falou o Senhor acerca de Babilônia, acerca da terra dos caldeus, por intermédio de Jeremias o profeta.

50:1 The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

50:2 Anunciai entre as nações e publicai, arvorando um estandarte; sim publicai, não encubrais; dizei: Tomada está Babilônia, confundido está Bel, caído está Merodaque, confundidos estão os seus ídolos, e caídos estão os seus deuses.

50:2 Declare all of you among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

50:3 Pois do Norte sobe contra ela uma nação que fará da sua terra uma desolação, e não haverá quem nela habite; tanto os homens como os animais já fugiram e se foram.

50:3 For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

50:4 Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, os filhos de Israel virão, eles e os filhos de Judá juntamente; andando e chorando virão, e buscarão ao Senhor seu Deus.

50:4 In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

50:5 Acerca de Sião indagarão, tendo os seus rostos voltados para lá e dizendo: Vinde e uni-vos ao Senhor num pacto eterno que nunca será esquecido.

50:5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces in that direction, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

50:6 Ovelhas perdidas têm sido o meu povo; os seus pastores as fizeram errar, e voltar aos montes; de monte para outeiro andaram, esqueceram-se do lugar de seu repouso.

50:6 My people has been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.

50:7 Todos os que as achavam as devoraram, e os seus adversários diziam: Culpa nenhuma teremos; porque pecaram contra o Senhor, a morada da justiça, sim, o Senhor, a esperança de seus pais.

50:7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

50:8 Fugi do meio de Babilônia, e saí da terra dos caldeus, e sede como os bodes diante do rebanho.

50:8 Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

50:9 Pois eis que eu suscitarei e farei subir contra Babilônia uma companhia de grandes nações da terra do Norte; e por-se-ão em ordem contra ela; dali será ela tomada. As suas flechas serão como as de valente herói; nenhuma tornará sem efeito.

50:9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

50:10 E Caldéia servirá de presa; todos os que a saquearem ficarão fartos, diz o Senhor.

50:10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, says the LORD.

50:11 Embora vos alegreis e vos regozijeis, ó saqueadores da minha herança, embora andeis soltos como novilha que pisa a erva, e rincheis como cavalos vigorosos,

50:11 Because all of you were glad, because all of you rejoiced, O all of you destroyers of mine heritage, because all of you are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

50:12 muito envergonhada será vossa mãe, ficará humilhada a que vos deu r luz; eis que ela será a última das nações, um deserto, uma terra seca e uma solidão.

50:12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

50:13 Por causa da ira do Senhor não será habitada, antes se tornará em total desolação; qualquer que passar por Babilônia se espantará, e assobiará por causa de todas as suas pragas.

50:13 Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

50:14 Ponde-vos em ordem para cercar Babilônia, todos os que armais arcos; atirai-lhe, não poupeis as flechas, porque ela tem pecado contra o Senhor.

50:14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all you that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the LORD.

50:15 Gritai contra ela rodeando-a; ela já se submeteu; caíram seus baluartes, estão derribados os seus muros. Pois esta é a vingança do Senhor; vingai-vos dela; conforme o que ela fez, assim lhe fazei a ela.

50:15 Shout against her round about: she has given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do unto her.

50:16 Cortai de Babilônia o que semeia, e o que maneja a foice no tempo da sega; por causa da espada do opressor virar-se-á cada um para o seu povo, e fugirá cada qual para a sua terra.

50:16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

50:17 Cordeiro desgarrado é Israel, os leões o afugentaram; o primeiro a devorá-lo foi o rei da Assíria, e agora por último Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, lhe quebrou os ossos.

50:17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria has devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.

50:18 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que castigarei o rei de Babilônia e a sua terra, como castiguei o rei da Assíria.

50:18 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

50:19 E farei voltar Israel para a sua morada, e ele pastará no Carmelo e em Basã, e se fartará nos outeiros de Efraim e em Gileade.

50:19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

50:20 Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, buscar-se-á a iniqüidade em Israel, e não haverá; e o pecado em Judá, e não se achará; pois perdoarei aos que eu deixar de resto.

50:20 In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

50:21 Sobe contra a terra de Merataim, sim, contra ela, e contra os moradores de Pecode; mata e inteiramente destrói tudo após eles, diz o Senhor, e faze conforme tudo o que te ordenei.

50:21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, says the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you.

50:22 Na terra há estrondo de batalha, e de grande destruição.

50:22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

50:23 Como foi cortado e quebrado o martelo de toda a terra! como se tornou Babilônia em objeto de espanto entre as nações!

50:23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

50:24 Laços te armei, e também foste presa, ó Babilônia, e tu não o soubeste; foste achada, e também apanhada, porque contra o Senhor te entremeteste.

50:24 I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD.

50:25 O Senhor abriu o seu arsenal, e tirou os instrumentos da sua indignação; porque o senhor Deus dos exércitos tem uma obra a realizar na terra dos caldeus.

50:25 The LORD has opened his armoury, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

50:26 Vinde contra ela dos confins da terra, abri os seus celeiros; fazei dela montões, e destruí-a de todo; nada lhe fique de resto.

50:26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

50:27 Matai a todos os seus novilhos, desçam ao degoladouro; ai deles! porque é chegado o seu dia, o tempo da sua punição.

50:27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day has come, the time of their visitation.

50:28 Eis a voz dos que fogem e escapam da terra de Babilônia para anunciarem em Sião a vingança do Senhor nosso Deus, a vingança do seu templo.

50:28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

50:29 Convocai contra Babilônia os flecheiros, todos os que armam arcos; acampai-vos contra ela em redor, ninguém escape dela. Pagai-lhe conforme a sua obra; conforme tudo o que ela fez, assim lhe fazei a ela; porque se houve arrogantemente contra o Senhor, contra o Santo de Israel.

50:29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all you that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do unto her: for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

50:30 Portanto cairão os seus jovens nas suas praças, e todos os seus homens de guerra serão destruídos naquele dia, diz o Senhor.

50:30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD.

50:31 Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó soberbo, diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos; pois o teu dia é chegado, o tempo em que te hei de punir?

50:31 Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the Lord GOD of hosts: for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.

50:32 Então tropeçará o soberbo, e cairá, e ninguém haverá que o levante; e porei fogo rs suas cidades, o qual consumirá tudo o que está ao seu redor.

50:32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

50:33 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá são juntamente oprimidos; e todos os que os levaram cativos os retêm, recusam soltá-los.

50:33 Thus says the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

50:34 Mas o seu Redentor é forte; o Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome. Certamente defenderá em juízo a causa deles, para dar descanso r terra, e inquietar os moradores de Babilônia.

50:34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and trouble the inhabitants of Babylon.

50:35 A espada virá sobre os caldeus, diz o senhor, e sobre os moradores de Babilônia, e sobre os seus príncipes, e sobre os seus sábios.

50:35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, says the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

50:36 A espada virá sobre os paroleiros, e eles ficarão insensatos; a espada virá sobre os seus valentes, e eles desfalecerão.

50:36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall be foolish: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

50:37 A espada virá sobre os seus cavalos, e sobre os seus carros, e sobre todo o povo misto, que se acha no meio dela, e eles se tornarão como mulheres; a espada virá sobre os seus tesouros, e estes serão saqueados.

50:37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

50:38 Cairá a seca sobre as suas águas, e elas secarão; pois é uma terra de imagens esculpidas, e eles pelos seus ídolos fazem-se loucos.

50:38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

50:39 Por isso feras do deserto juntamente com lobos habitarão ali; também habitarão nela avestruzes; e nunca mais será povoada, nem será habitada de geração em geração.

50:39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

50:40 Como quando Deus subverteu a Sodoma e a Gomorra, e rs suas cidades vizinhas, diz o Senhor, assim ninguém habitará ali, nem peregrinará nela filho de homem.

50:40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

50:41 Eis que um povo vem do norte; e uma grande nação e muitos reis se levantam das extremidades da terra.

50:41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

50:42 Armam-se de arco e lança; são cruéis, e não têm piedade; a sua voz brama como o mar, e em cavalos vêm montados, dispostos como homens para a batalha, contra ti, ó filha de Babilônia.

50:42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against you, O daughter of Babylon.

50:43 O rei de Babilônia ouviu a fama deles, e desfaleceram as suas mãos; a angústia se apoderou dele, dores, como da que está de parto.

50:43 The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

50:44 Eis que como leão subirá das margens do Jordão um inimigo contra a morada forte, mas de repente o farei correr dali; e ao escolhido, pô-lo-ei sobre ela. Pois quem é semelhante a mim? e quem me fixará um prazo? Quem é o pastor que me poderá resistir?

50:44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

50:45 Portanto ouvi o conselho que o Senhor decretou contra Babilônia, e o propósito que formou contra a terra dos caldeus: Certamente eles, os pequenos do rebanho, serão arrastados; certamente o aprisco ficará apavorado por causa deles.

50:45 Therefore hear all of you the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

50:46 Ao estrondo da tomada de Babilônia estremece a terra; e o grito se ouve entre as nações.

50:46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

51:1 Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que levantarei um vento destruidor contra Babilônia, e contra os que habitam na Caldéia.

51:1 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;

51:2 E enviarei padejadores contra Babilônia, que a padejarão, e esvaziarão a sua terra, quando vierem contra ela em redor no dia da calamidade.

51:2 And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

51:3 Não arme o flecheiro o seu arco, nem se levante o que estiver armado da sua couraça; não perdoeis aos seus jovens; destruí completamente todo o seu exército.

51:3 Against him that bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifts himself up in his brigandine: and spare all of you not her young men; destroy all of you utterly all her host.

51:4 Cairão mortos na terra dos caldeus, e feridos nas ruas dela.

51:4 Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.

51:5 Pois Israel e Judá não foram abandonados do seu Deus, o Senhor dos exércitos, ainda que a terra deles esteja cheia de culpas contra o Santo de Israel.

51:5 For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.

51:6 Fugi do meio de Babilônia, e livre cada um a sua vida; não sejais exterminados na sua punição; pois este é o tempo da vingança do Senhor; ele lhe dará o pago.

51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

51:7 Na mão do Senhor a Babilônia era um copo de ouro, o qual embriagava a toda a terra; do seu vinho beberam as nações; por isso as nações estão fora de si.

51:7 Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

51:8 Repentinamente caiu Babilônia, e ficou arruinada; uivai sobre ela; tomai bálsamo para a sua dor, talvez sare.

51:8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

51:9 Queríamos sarar Babilônia, ela, porém, não sarou; abandonai- a, e vamo-nos, cada qual para a sua terra; pois o seu julgamento chega até o céu, e se eleva até as mais altas nuvens.

51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reachs unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

51:10 O Senhor trouxe r luz a nossa justiça; vinde e anunciemos em Sião a obra do Senhor nosso Deus.

51:10 The LORD has brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.

51:11 Aguçai as flechas, preperai os escudos; o Senhor despertou o espírito dos reis dos medos; porque o seu intento contra Babilônia é para a destruir; pois esta é a vingança do Senhor, a vingança do seu templo.

51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

51:12 Arvorai um estandarte sobre os muros de Babilônia, reforçai a guarda, colocai sentinelas, preparai as emboscadas; porque o Senhor tanto intentou como efetuou o que tinha dito acerca dos moradores de Babilônia.

51:12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD has both devised and done that which he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.

51:13 ç tu, que habitas sobre muitas águas, rica de tesouros! é chegado o teu fim, a medida da tua ganância.

51:13 O you that dwell upon many waters, abundant in treasures, yours end has come, and the measure of your covetousness.

51:14 Jurou o Senhor dos exércitos por si mesmo, dizendo: Certamente te encherei de homens, como de locustas; e eles levantarão o grito de vitória sobre ti.

51:14 The LORD of hosts has sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against you.

51:15 É ele quem fez a terra com o seu poder, estabeleceu o mundo com a sua sabedoria, e estendeu os céus com o seu entendimento.

51:15 He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

51:16 Â sua voz, há grande tumulto de águas nas céus, e ele faz subir os vapores desde as extremidades da terra; faz os relâmpagos para a chuva, e tira o vento dos seus tesouros.

51:16 When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasures.

51:17 Embruteceu-se todo homem, de modo que não tem conhecimento; todo ourives é envergonhado pelas suas imagens esculpidas; pois as suas imagens de fundição são mentira, e não há espírito em nenhuma delas.

51:17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

51:18 Vaidade são, obra de enganos; no tempo em que eu as visitar perecerão.

51:18 They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

51:19 Não é semelhante a estes a porção de Jacó; porque ele é o que forma todas as coisas; e Israel é a tribo da sua herança; o Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome.

51:19 The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.

51:20 Tu me serves de martelo e de armas de guerra; contigo despedaçarei nações, e contigo destruirei os reis;

51:20 You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you will I break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms;

51:21 contigo despedaçarei o cavalo e o seu cavaleiro; contigo despedaçarei e carro e o que nele vai;

51:21 And with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;

51:22 contigo despedaçarei o homem e a mulher; contigo despedaçarei o velho e o moço; contigo despedaçarei o mancebo e a donzela;

51:22 With you also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces old and young; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;

51:23 contigo despedaçarei o pastor e o seu rebanho; contigo despedaçarei o lavrador e a sua junta de bois; e contigo despedaçarei governadores e magistrados.

51:23 I will also break in pieces with you the shepherd and his flock; and with you will I break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you will I break in pieces captains and rulers.

51:24 Ante os vossos olhos pagarei a Babilônia, e a todos os moradores da Caldéia, toda a sua maldade que fizeram em Sião, diz o Senhor.

51:24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, says the LORD.

51:25 Eis-me aqui contra ti, ó monte destruidor, diz o Senhor, que destróis toda a terra; estenderei a minha mão contra ti, e te revolverei dos penhascos abaixo, e farei de ti um monte incendiado.

51:25 Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.

51:26 E não tomarão de ti pedra para esquina, nem pedra para fundamentos; mas desolada ficarás perpetuamente, diz o Senhor.

51:26 And they shall not take of you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but you shall be desolate for ever, says the LORD.

51:27 Arvorai um estandarte na terra, tocai a trombeta entre as nações, preparai as nações contra ela, convocai contra ela os reinos de Arará, Mini, e Asquenaz; ponde sobre ela um capitão, fazei subir cavalos, como locustas eriçadas.

51:27 Set all of you up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars.

51:28 Preparai contra ela as nações, os reis dos medos, os seus governadores e magistrados, e toda a terra do seu domínio.

51:28 Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.

51:29 E a terra estremece e está angustiada; porque os desígnios do Senhor estão firmes contra Babilônia, para fazer da terra de Babilônia uma desolação, sem habitantes.

51:29 And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.

51:30 Os valentes de Babilônia cessaram de pelejar, ficam nas fortalezas, desfaleceu a sua força, tornaram-se como mulheres; incendiadas são as suas moradas, quebrados os seus ferrolhos.

51:30 The mighty men of Babylon have ceased to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might has failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwelling places; her bars are broken.

51:31 Um correio corre ao encontro de outro correio, e um mensageiro ao encontro de outro mensageiro, para anunciar ao rei de Babilônia que a sua cidade está tomada de todos os lados.

51:31 One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at every quarter,

51:32 E os vaus estão ocupados, os canaviais queimados a fogo, e os homens de guerra assombrados.

51:32 And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.

51:33 Pois assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: A filha de Babilônia é como a eira no tempo da debulha; ainda um pouco, e o tempo da sega lhe virá.

51:33 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

51:34 Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, devorou-me, esmagou-me, fez de mim um vaso vazio, qual monstro tragou-me, encheu o seu ventre do que eu tinha de delicioso; lançou-me fora.

51:34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, he has made me an empty vessel, he has swallowed me up like a dragon, he has filled his belly with my delicates, he has cast me out.

51:35 A violência que se me fez a mim e r minha carne venha sobre Babilônia, diga a moradora de Sião. O meu sangue caia sobre os moradores de Caldéia, diga Jerusalém.

51:35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.

51:36 Pelo que assim diz o Senhor: Eis que defenderei a tua causa, e te vingarei; e secarei o seu mar, e farei que se esgote a sua fonte:

51:36 Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

51:37 E Babilônia se tornará em montões, morada de chacais, objeto de espanto e assobio, sem habitante.

51:37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

51:38 Juntos rugirão como leões novos, bramarão como cachorros de leões.

51:38 They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps.

51:39 Estando eles excitados, preparar-lhes-ei um banquete, e os embriagarei, para que se regozijem, e durmam um perpétuo sono, e não despertem, diz o Senhor.

51:39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the LORD.

51:40 Fá-los-ei descer como cordeiros ao matadouro, como carneiros e bodes.

51:40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.

51:41 Como foi tomada Sesaque, e apanhada de surpresa a glória de toda a terra! como se tornou Babilônia um espetáculo horrendo entre as nações!

51:41 How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

51:42 O mar subiu sobre Babilônia; coberta está com a multidão das suas ondas.

51:42 The sea has come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.

51:43 Tornaram-se as suas cidades em ruínas, terra seca e deserta, terra em que ninguém habita, nem passa por ela filho de homem.

51:43 Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby.

51:44 E castigarei a Bel em Babilônia, e tirarei da sua boca o que ele tragou; e nunca mais concorrerão a ele as nações; o muro de Babilônia está caído.

51:44 And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

51:45 Saí do meio dela, ó povo meu, e salve cada um a sua vida do ardor da ira do Senhor.

51:45 My people, go all of you out of the midst of her, and deliver all of you every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.

51:46 Não desfaleça o vosso coração, nem temais pelo rumor que se ouvir na terra; pois virá num ano um rumor, e depois noutro ano outro rumor; e haverá violência na terra, dominador contra dominador.

51:46 And lest your heart faint, and all of you fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

51:47 Portanto eis que vêm os dias em que executarei juízo sobre as imagens esculpidas de Babilônia; e toda a sua terra ficará envergonhada; e todos os seus traspassados cairão no meio dela.

51:47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

51:48 Então o céu e a terra, com tudo quanto neles há, jubilarão sobre Babilônia; pois do norte lhe virão os destruidores, diz o Senhor.

51:48 Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, says the LORD.

51:49 Babilônia há de cair pelos mortos de Israel, assim como por Babilônia têm caído os mortos de toda a terra.

51:49 As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.

51:50 Vós, que escapastes da espada, ide-vos, não pareis; desde terras longínquas lembrai-vos do Senhor, e suba Jerusalém r vossa mente.

51:50 All of you that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD far off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.

51:51 Envergonhados estamos, porque ouvimos opróbrio; a confusão nos cobriu o rosto; pois entraram estrangeiros nos santuários da casa do Senhor.

51:51 We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house.

51:52 Portanto, eis que vêm os dias, diz o Senhor, em que executarei juízo sobre as suas imagens esculpidas; e em toda a sua terra gemerão os feridos.

51:52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.

51:53 Ainda que Babilônia subisse ao céu, e ainda que fortificasse a altura da sua fortaleza, contudo de mim viriam destruidores sobre ela, diz o Senhor.

51:53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, says the LORD.

51:54 Eis um clamor de Babilônia! de grande destruição da terra dos caldeus!

51:54 A sound of a cry comes from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:

51:55 Pois o Senhor está despojando a Babilônia, e emudecendo a sua poderosa voz. Bramam as ondas do inimigo como muitas águas; ouve-se o arruído da sua voz.

51:55 Because the LORD has spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:

51:56 Porque o destruidor veio sobre ela, sobre Babilônia, e os seus valentes estão presos; já estão despedaçados os seus arcos; pois o Senhor é Deus das recompensas, ele certamente retribuirá.

51:56 Because the spoiler has come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.

51:57 Embriagarei os seus príncipes e os seus sábios, os seus governadores, os seus magistrados, e os seus valentes; e dormirão um sono perpétuo, e jamais acordarão, diz o Rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos.

51:57 And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

51:58 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: O largo muro de Babilônia será de todo derribado, e as suas portas altas serão abrasadas pelo fogo; e trabalharão os povos em vão, e as nações se cansarão só para o fogo.

51:58 Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.

51:59 A palavra que Jeremias, o profeta, mandou a Seraías, filho de Nerias, filho de Maséias, quando ia com Zedequias, rei de Judá, a Babilônia, no quarto ano do seu reinado. Ora, Seraías era o camareiro-mor.

51:59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.

51:60 Escreveu, pois, Jeremias num livro todo o mal que havia de vir sobre Babilônia, a saber, todas estas palavras que estão escritas acerca de Babilônia.

51:60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

51:61 E disse Jeremias a Seraías: Quando chegares a Babilônia, vê que leias todas estas palavras;

51:61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, and shall see, and shall read all these words;

51:62 e dirás: Tu, Senhor, falaste a respeito deste lugar, que o havias de desarraigar, até não ficar nele morador algum, nem homem nem animal, mas que se tornaria em perpétua desolação.

51:62 Then shall you say, O LORD, you have spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

51:63 E acabando tu de ler este livro, atar-lhe-ás uma pedra e o lançarás no meio do Eufrates;

51:63 And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:

51:64 e dirás: Assim será submergida Babilônia, e não se levantará, por causa do mal que vou trazer sobre ela; e eles se cansarão.

51:64 And you shall say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

52:1 Era Zedequias da idade de vinte e um anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias, de Libna.

52:1 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

52:2 E fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, conforme tudo o que fizera Jeoiaquim.

52:2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

52:3 Pois por causa da ira do Senhor, chegou-se a tal ponto em Jerusalém e Judá que ele os lançou da sua presença. E Zedequias rebelou-se contra o rei de Babilônia.

52:3 For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

52:4 No ano nono do seu reinado, no mês décimo, no décimo dia do mês, veio Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, contra Jerusalém, ele e todo o seu exército, e se acamparam contra ela, e contra ela levantaram tranqueiras ao redor.

52:4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.

52:5 Assim esteve cercada a cidade, até o ano undécimo do rei Zedequias.

52:5 So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

52:6 No quarto mês, aos nove do mês, a fome prevalecia na cidade, de tal modo que não havia pão para o povo da terra.

52:6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

52:7 Então foi aberta uma brecha na cidade; e todos os homens de guerra fugiram, e saíram da cidade de noite, pelo caminho da porta entre os dois muros, a qual está junto ao jardim do rei, enquanto os caldeus estavam ao redor da cidade; e foram pelo caminho da Arabá.

52:7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.

52:8 Mas o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei, e alcançou a Zedequias nas campinas de Jericó; e todo o seu exército se espalhou, abandonando-o.

52:8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

52:9 Prenderam o rei, e o fizeram subir ao rei de Babilônia a Ribla na terra de Hamate, o qual lhe pronunciou a sentença.

52:9 Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.

52:10 E o rei de Babilônia matou os filhos de Zedequias r sua vista; e também matou a todos os príncipes de Judá em Ribla.

52:10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

52:11 E cegou os olhos a Zedequias; e o atou com cadeias; e o rei de Babilônia o levou para Babilônia, e o conservou na prisão até o dia da sua morte.

52:11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

52:12 No quinto mês, no décimo dia do mês, que era o décimo nono ano do rei Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, veio a Jerusalém Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, que assistia na presença do rei de Babilônia.

52:12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,

52:13 E queimou a casa do Senhor, e a casa do rei; como também a todas as casas de Jerusalém, todas as casas importantes, ele as incendiou.

52:13 And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:

52:14 E todo o exército dos caldeus, que estava com o capitão da guarda, derribou todos os muros que rodeavam Jerusalém.

52:14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

52:15 E os mais pobres do povo, e o resto do povo que tinha ficado na cidade, e os desertores que se haviam passado para o rei de Babilônia, e o resto dos artífices, Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, levou-os cativos.

52:15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

52:16 Mas dos mais pobres da terra Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, deixou ficar alguns, para serem vinhateiros e lavradores.

52:16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

52:17 Os caldeus despedaçaram as colunas de bronze que estavam na casa do Senhor, e as bases, e o mar de bronze, que estavam na casa do Senhor, e levaram todo o bronze para Babilônia.

52:17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

52:18 Também tomaram as caldeiras, as pás, as espevitadeiras, as bacias, as colheres, e todos os utensílios de bronze, com que se ministrava.

52:18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

52:19 De igual modo o capitão da guarda levou os copos, os braseiros, as bacias, as caldeiras, os castiçais, as colheres, e as tigelas. O que era de ouro, levou como ouro, e o que era de prata, como prata.

52:19 And the basons, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.

52:20 Quanto rs duas colunas, ao mar, e aos doze bois de bronze que estavam debaixo das bases, que fizera o rei Salomão para a casa do Senhor, o peso do bronze de todos estes vasos era incalculável.

52:20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

52:21 Dessas colunas, a altura de cada um era de dezoito côvados; doze côvados era a medida da sua circunferência; e era a sua espessura de quatro dedos; e era oca.

52:21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fastener of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

52:22 E havia sobre ela um capitel de bronze; e a altura dum capitel era de cinco côvados, com uma rede e romãs sobre o capitel ao redor, tudo de bronze; e a segunda coluna tinha as mesmas coisas com as romãs.

52:22 And a capital of brass was upon it; and the height of one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capitals round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.

52:23 E havia noventa e seis romãs aos lados; as romãs todas, sobre a rede ao redor eram cem.

52:23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.

52:24 Levou também o capitão da guarda a Seraías, o principal sacerdote, e a Sofonias, o segundo sacerdote, e os três guardas da porta;

52:24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

52:25 e da cidade levou um oficial que tinha a seu cargo os homens de guerra; e a sete homens dos que assistiam ao rei e que se achavam na cidade; como também o escrivão-mor do exército, que registrava o povo da terra; e mais sessenta homens do povo da terra que se achavam no meio da cidade.

52:25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

52:26 Tomando-os pois Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, levou-os ao rei de Babilônia, a Ribla.

52:26 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

52:27 E o rei de Babilônia os feriu e os matou em Ribla, na terra de Hamate. Assim Judá foi levado cativo para fora da sua terra.

52:27 And the king of Babylon stroke them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.

52:28 Este é o povo que Nabucodonozor levou cativo: no sétimo ano três mil e vinte e três judeus;

52:28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:

52:29 no ano décimo oitavo de Nabucodonozor, ele levou cativas de Jerusalém oitocentas e trinta e duas pessoas;

52:29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:

52:30 no ano vinte e três de Nabucodonozor, Nebuzaradão, capitão da guarda, levou cativas, dentre os judeus, setecentas e quarenta e cinco pessoas; todas as pessoas foram quatro mil e seiscentas.

52:30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

52:31 No ano trigésimo sétimo do cativeiro de Joaquim, rei de Judá, no mês duodécimo, aos vinte e cinco do mês, Evil-Merodaque, rei de Babilônia, no primeiro ano do seu reinado, levantou a cabeça de Joaquim, rei de Judá, e o tirou do cárcere;

52:31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison.

52:32 e falou com ele benignamente, e pôs o trono dele acima dos tronos dos reis que estavam com ele em Babilônia;

52:32 And spoke kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,

52:33 e lhe fez mudar a roupa da sua prisão; e Joaquim comia pão na presença do rei continuamente, todos os dias da sua vida.

52:33 And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.

52:34 E, quanto r sua ração, foi-lhe dada pelo rei de Babilônia a sua porção quotidiana, até o dia da sua morte, durante todos os dias da sua vida.

52:34 And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
