Genesis / GÉNESIS 

1:1 EN el principio crió Dios los cielos y la tierra.

1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

1:2 Y la tierra estaba desordenada y vacía, y las tinieblas estaban sobre la haz del abismo, y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la haz de las aguas.

1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

1:3 Y dijo Dios: Sea la luz: y fué la luz.

1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

1:4 Y vió Dios que la luz era buena: y apartó Dios la luz de las tinieblas.

1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

1:5 Y llamó Dios á la luz Día, y á las tinieblas llamó Noche: y fué la tarde y la mañana un día.

1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

1:6 Y dijo Dios: Haya expansión en medio de las aguas, y separe las aguas de las aguas.

1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

1:7 E hizo Dios la expansión, y apartó las aguas que estaban debajo de la expansión, de las aguas que estaban sobre la expansión: y fué así.

1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

1:8 Y llamó Dios á la expansión Cielos: y fué la tarde y la mañana el día segundo.

1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

1:9 Y dijo Dios: Júntense las aguas que están debajo de los cielos en un lugar, y descúbrase la seca: y fué así.

1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

1:10 Y llamó Dios á la seca Tierra, y á la reunión de las aguas llamó Mares: y vió Dios que era bueno.

1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

1:11 Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra hierba verde, hierba que dé simiente; árbol de fruto que dé fruto según su género, que su simiente esté en él, sobre la tierra: y fué así.

1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

1:12 Y produjo la tierra hierba verde, hierba que da simiente según su naturaleza, y árbol que da fruto, cuya simiente está en él, según su género: y vió Dios que era bueno.

1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

1:13 Y fué la tarde y la mañana el día tercero.

1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

1:14 Y dijo Dios: Sean lumbreras en la expansión de los cielos para apartar el día y la noche: y sean por señales, y para las estaciones, y para días y años;

1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

1:15 Y sean por lumbreras en la expansión de los cielos para alumbrar sobre la tierra: y fue.

1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

1:16 E hizo Dios las dos grandes lumbreras; la lumbrera mayor para que señorease en el día, y la lumbrera menor para que señorease en la noche: hizo también las estrellas.

1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

1:17 Y púsolas Dios en la expansión de los cielos, para alumbrar sobre la tierra,

1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

1:18 Y para señorear en el día y en la noche, y para apartar la luz y las tinieblas: y vió Dios que era bueno.

1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

1:19 Y fué la tarde y la mañana el día cuarto.

1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

1:20 Y dijo Dios: Produzcan las aguas reptil de ánima viviente, y aves que vuelen sobre la tierra, en la abierta expansión de los cielos.

1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

1:21 Y crió Dios las grandes ballenas, y toda cosa viva que anda arrastrando, que las aguas produjeron según su género, y toda ave alada según su especie: y vió Dios que era bueno.

1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

1:22 Y Dios los bendijo diciendo: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchid las aguas en los mares, y las aves se multipliquen en la tierra.

1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

1:23 Y fué la tarde y la mañana el día quinto.

1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

1:24 Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra seres vivientes según su género, bestias y serpientes y animales de la tierra según su especie: y fué así.

1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

1:25 E hizo Dios animales de la tierra según su género, y ganado según su género, y todo animal que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra según su especie: y vió Dios que era bueno.

1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

1:26 Y dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre á nuestra imagen, conforme á nuestra semejanza; y señoree en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en las bestias, y en toda la tierra, y en todo animal que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra.

1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

1:27 Y crió Dios al hombre á su imagen, á imagen de Dios lo crió; varón y hembra los crió.

1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

1:28 Y los bendijo Dios; y díjoles Dios: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchid la tierra, y sojuzgadla, y señoread en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en todas las bestias que se mueven sobre la tierra.

1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

1:29 Y dijo Dios: He aquí que os he dado toda hierba que da simiente, que está sobre la haz de toda la tierra; y todo árbol en que hay fruto de árbol que da simiente, seros ha para comer.

1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

1:30 Y á toda bestia de la tierra, y á todas las aves de los cielos, y á todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra, en que hay vida, toda hierba verde les será para comer: y fué así.

1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so.

1:31 Y vió Dios todo lo que había hecho, y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera. Y fué la tarde y la mañana el día sexto.

1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2:1 Y FUERON acabados los cielos y la tierra, y todo su ornamento.

2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2:2 Y acabó Dios en el día séptimo su obra que hizo, y reposó el día séptimo de toda su obra que había hecho.

2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

2:3 Y bendijo Dios al día séptimo, y santificólo, porque en él reposó de toda su obra que había Dios criado y hecho.

2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

2:4 Estos son los orígenes de los cielos y de la tierra cuando fueron criados, el día que Jehová Dios hizo la tierra y los cielos,

2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

2:5 Y toda planta del campo antes que fuese en la tierra, y toda hierba del campo antes que naciese: porque aun no había Jehová Dios hecho llover sobre la tierra, ni había hombre para que labrase la tierra;

2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

2:6 Mas subía de la tierra un vapor, que regaba toda la faz de la tierra.

2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

2:7 Formó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre del polvo de la tierra, y alentó en su nariz soplo de vida; y fué el hombre en alma viviente.

2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

2:8 Y había Jehová Dios plantado un huerto en Edén al oriente, y puso allí al hombre que había formado.

2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

2:9 Y había Jehová Dios hecho nacer de la tierra todo árbol delicioso á la vista, y bueno para comer: también el árbol de vida en medio del huerto, y el árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal.

2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

2:10 Y salía de Edén un río para regar el huerto, y de allí se repartía en cuatro ramales.

2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

2:11 El nombre del uno era Pisón: éste es el que cerca toda la tierra de Havilah, donde hay oro:

2:11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

2:12 Y el oro de aquella tierra es bueno: hay allí también bdelio y piedra cornerina.

2:12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

2:13 El nombre del segundo río es Gihón: éste es el que rodea toda la tierra de Etiopía.

2:13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasses the whole land of Ethiopia.

2:14 Y el nombre del tercer río es Hiddekel: éste es el que va delante de Asiria. Y el cuarto río es el Eufrates.

2:14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

2:15 Tomó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre, y le puso en el huerto de Edén, para que lo labrara y lo guardase.

2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

2:16 Y mandó Jehová Dios al hombre, diciendo: De todo árbol del huerto comerás;

2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:

2:17 Mas del árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal no comerás de él; porque el día que de él comieres, morirás.

2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.

2:18 Y dijo Jehová Dios: No es bueno que el hombre esté solo; haréle ayuda idónea para él.

2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an associated helper for him.

2:19 Formó, pues, Jehová Dios de la tierra toda bestia del campo, y toda ave de los cielos, y trájolas á Adam, para que viese cómo les había de llamar; y todo lo que Adam llamó á los animales vivientes, ese es su nombre.

2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

2:20 Y puso Adam nombres á toda bestia y ave de los cielos y á todo animal del campo: mas para Adam no halló ayuda que estuviese idónea para él.

2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an associated helper for him.

2:21 Y Jehová Dios hizo caer sueño sobre Adam, y se quedó dormido: entonces tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar;

2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

2:22 Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, hizo una mujer, y trájola al hombre.

2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

2:23 Y dijo Adam: Esto es ahora hueso de mis huesos, y carne de mi carne: ésta será llamada Varona, porque del varón fué tomada.

2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

2:24 Por tanto, dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y allegarse ha á su mujer, y serán una sola carne.

2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

2:25 Y estaban ambos desnudos, Adam y su mujer, y no se avergonzaban.

2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Genesis / GÉNESIS

3:1 EMPERO la serpiente era astuta, más que todos los animales del campo que Jehová Dios había hecho; la cual dijo á la mujer: ¿Conque Dios os ha dicho: No comáis de todo árbol del huerto?

3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, has God said, All of you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

3:2 Y la mujer respondió á la serpiente: Del fruto de los árboles del huerto comemos;

3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3:3 Mas del fruto del árbol que está en medio del huerto dijo Dios: No comeréis de él, ni le tocaréis, porque no muráis.

3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, All of you shall not eat of it, neither shall all of you touch it, lest all of you die.

3:4 Entonces la serpiente dijo á la mujer: No moriréis;

3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, All of you shall not surely die:

3:5 Mas sabe Dios que el día que comiereis de él, serán abiertos vuestros ojos, y seréis como dioses sabiendo el bien y el mal.

3:5 For God does know that in the day all of you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and all of you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

3:6 Y vió la mujer que el árbol era bueno para comer, y que era agradable á los ojos, y árbol codiciable para alcanzar la sabiduría; y tomó de su fruto, y comió; y dió también á su marido, el cual comió así como ella.

3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

3:7 Y fueron abiertos los ojos de entrambos, y conocieron que estaban desnudos: entonces cosieron hojas de higuera, y se hicieron delantales.

3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

3:8 Y oyeron la voz de Jehová Dios que se paseaba en el huerto al aire del día: y escondióse el hombre y su mujer de la presencia de Jehová Dios entre los árboles del huerto.

3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

3:9 Y llamó Jehová Dios al hombre, y le dijo: ¿Dónde estás tú?

3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you?

3:10 Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo, porque estaba desnudo; y escondíme.

3:10 And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

3:11 Y díjole: ¿Quién te enseñó que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol de que yo te mandé no comieses?

3:11 And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded you that you should not eat?

3:12 Y el hombre respondió: La mujer que me diste por compañera me dió del árbol, y yo comí.

3:12 And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

3:13 Entonces Jehová Dios dijo á la mujer: ¿Qué es lo que has hecho? Y dijo la mujer: La serpiente me engañó, y comí.

3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent misled me, and I did eat.

3:14 Y Jehová Dios dijo á la serpiente: Por cuanto esto hiciste, maldita serás entre todas las bestias y entre todos los animales del campo; sobre tu pecho andarás, y polvo comerás todos los días de tu vida:

3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life:

3:15 Y enemistad pondré entre ti y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y la simiente suya; ésta te herirá en la cabeza, y tú le herirás en el calcañar.

3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

3:16 A la mujer dijo: Multiplicaré en gran manera tus dolores y tus preñeces; con dolor parirás los hijos; y á tu marido será tu deseo, y él se enseñoreará de ti.

3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in sorrow you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you.

3:17 Y al hombre dijo: Por cuanto obedeciste á la voz de tu mujer, y comiste del árbol de que te mandé diciendo, No comerás de él; maldita será la tierra por amor de ti; con dolor comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida;

3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because you have hearkened unto the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of your life;

3:18 Espinos y cardos te producirá, y comerás hierba del campo;

3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you; and you shall eat the herb of the field;

3:19 En el sudor de tu rostro comerás el pan hasta que vuelvas á la tierra; porque de ella fuiste tomado: pues polvo eres, y al polvo serás tornado.

3:19 In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and unto dust shall you return.

3:20 Y llamó el hombre el nombre de su mujer, Eva; por cuanto ella era madre de todos lo vivientes.

3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

3:21 Y Jehová Dios hizo al hombre y á su mujer túnicas de pieles, y vistiólos.

3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

3:22 Y dijo Jehová Dios: He aquí el hombre es como uno de Nos sabiendo el bien y el mal: ahora, pues, porque no alargue su mano, y tome también del árbol de la vida, y coma, y viva para siempre:

3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

3:23 Y sacólo Jehová del huerto de Edén, para que labrase la tierra de que fué tomado.

3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

3:24 Echó, pues, fuera al hombre, y puso al oriente del huerto de Edén querubines, y una espada encendida que se revolvía á todos lados, para guardar el camino del árbol de la vida.

3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Genesis / GÉNESIS

4:1 Y CONOCIO Adam á su mujer Eva, la cual concibió y parió á Caín, y dijo: Adquirido he varón por Jehová.

4:1 And Adam had sexual contact with Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have got a man from the LORD.

4:2 Y después parió á su hermano Abel. Y fué Abel pastor de ovejas, y Caín fué labrador de la tierra.

4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

4:3 Y aconteció andando el tiempo, que Caín trajo del fruto de la tierra una ofrenda á Jehová.

4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

4:4 Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de su grosura. Y miró Jehová con agrado á Abel y á su ofrenda;

4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

4:5 Mas no miró propicio á Caín y á la ofrenda suya. Y ensañóse Caín en gran manera, y decayó su semblante.

4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

4:6 Entonces Jehová dijo á Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado, y por qué se ha inmutado tu rostro?

4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why are you angry? and why is your countenance fallen?

4:7 Si bien hicieres, ¿no serás ensalzado? y si no hicieres bien, el pecado está á la puerta: con todo esto, á ti será su deseo, y tú te enseñorearás de él.

4:7 If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

4:8 Y habló Caín á su hermano Abel: y aconteció que estando ellos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra su hermano Abel, y le mató.

4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

4:9 Y Jehová dijo á Caín: ¿Dónde está Abel tu hermano? Y él respondió: No sé; ¿soy yo guarda de mi hermano?

4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

4:10 Y él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama á mí desde la tierra.

4:10 And he said, What have you done? the voice of your brother's blood cries unto me from the ground.

4:11 Ahora pues, maldito seas tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir la sangre de tu hermano de tu mano:

4:11 And now are you cursed from the earth, which has opened her mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand;

4:12 Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá á dar su fuerza: errante y extranjero serás en la tierra.

4:12 When you till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto you her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shall you be in the earth.

4:13 Y dijo Caín á Jehová: Grande es mi iniquidad para ser perdonada.

4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

4:14 He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré errante y extranjero en la tierra; y sucederá que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.

4:14 Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from your face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that finds me shall slay me.

4:15 Y respondióle Jehová: Cierto que cualquiera que matare á Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso señal en Caín, para que no lo hiriese cualquiera que le hallara.

4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slays Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

4:16 Y salió Caín de delante de Jehová, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.

4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

4:17 Y conoció Caín á su mujer, la cual concibió y parió á Henoch: y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Henoch.

4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

4:18 Y á Henoch nació Irad, é Irad engendró á Mehujael, y Mehujael engendró á Methusael, y Methusael engendró á Lamech.

4:18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad brings forth Mehujael: and Mehujael brings forth Methusael: and Methusael brings forth Lamech.

4:19 Y tomó para sí Lamech dos mujeres; el nombre de la una fué Ada, y el nombre de la otra Zilla.

4:19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

4:20 Y Ada parió á Jabal, el cual fué padre de los que habitan en tiendas, y crían ganados.

4:20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

4:21 Y el nombre de su hermano fué Jubal, el cual fué padre de todos los que manejan arpa y órgano.

4:21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

4:22 Y Zilla también parió á Tubal-Caín, acicalador de toda obra de metal y de hierro: y la hermana de Tubal-Caín fué Naama.

4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

4:23 Y dijo Lamech á sus mujeres: Ada y Zilla, oid mi voz; Mujeres de Lamech, escuchad mi dicho: Que varón mataré por mi herida, Y mancebo por mi golpe:

4:23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; all of you wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

4:24 Si siete veces será vengado Caín, Lamech en verdad setenta veces siete lo será.

4:24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

4:25 Y conoció de nuevo Adam á su mujer, la cual parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Seth: Porque Dios (dijo ella) me ha sustituído otra simiente en lugar de Abel, á quien mató Caín.

4:25 And Adam had sexual contact with his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

4:26 Y á Seth también le nació un hijo, y llamó su nombre Enós. Entonces los hombres comenzaron á llamarse del nombre de Jehová.

4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

5:1 ESTE es el libro de las generaciones de Adam. El día en que crió Dios al hombre, á la semejanza de Dios lo hizo;

5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

5:2 Varón y hembra los crió; y los bendijo, y llamó el nombre de ellos Adam, el día en que fueron criados.

5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

5:3 Y vivió Adam ciento y treinta años, y engendró un hijo á su semejanza, conforme á su imagen, y llamó su nombre Seth.

5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and brings forth a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

5:4 Y fueron los días de Adam, después que engendró á Seth, ochocientos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.

5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he brings forth sons and daughters:

5:5 Y fueron todos los días que vivió Adam novecientos y treinta años, y murió.

5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and brings forth Enos:

5:10 And Enos lived after he brings forth Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and brings forth sons and daughters:

5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he brings forth Methuselah three hundred years, and brings forth sons and daughters:

5:23 Y fueron todos los días de Henoch trescientos sesenta y cinco años.

5:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

5:24 Caminó, pues, Henoch con Dios, y desapareció, porque le llevó Dios.

5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

5:25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and brings forth Lamech.

5:26 Y vivió Mathusalam, después que engendró á Lamech, setecientos ochenta y dos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.

5:26 And Methuselah lived after he brings forth Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and brings forth sons and daughters:

5:27 Fueron, pues, todos los días de Mathusalam, novecientos sesenta y nueve años; y murió.

5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

5:28 Y vivió Lamech ciento ochenta y dos años, y engendró un hijo:

5:28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and brings forth a son:

5:29 Y llamó su nombre Noé, diciendo: Este nos aliviará de nuestras obras, y del tabajo de nuestras manos, á causa de la tierra que Jehová maldijo.

5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.

5:30 Y vivió Lamech, después que engendró á Noé, quinientos noventa y cinco años: y engendró hijos é hijas.

5:30 And Lamech lived after he brings forth Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and brings forth sons and daughters:

5:31 Y fueron todos los días de Lamech setecientos setenta y siete años; y murió.

5:31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.

5:32 Y siendo Noé de quinientos años, engendró á Sem, Châm, y á Japhet.

5:32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah brings forth Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

6:1 Y ACAECIO que, cuando comenzaron los hombres á multiplicarse sobre la faz de la tierra, y les nacieron hijas,

6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

6:2 Viendo los hijos de Dios que las hijas de los hombres eran hermosas, tomáronse mujeres, escogiendo entre todas.

6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

6:3 Y dijo Jehová: No contenderá mi espíritu con el hombre para siempre, porque ciertamente él es carne: mas serán sus días ciento y veinte años.

6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

6:4 Había gigantes en la tierra en aquellos días, y también después que entraron los hijos de Dios á las hijas de los hombres, y les engendraron hijos: éstos fueron los valientes que desde la antigüedad fueron varones de nombre.

6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

6:5 Y vió Jehová que la malicia de los hombres era mucha en la tierra, y que todo designio de los pensamientos del corazón de ellos era de continuo solamente el mal.

6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6:6 Y arrepintióse Jehová de haber hecho hombre en la tierra, y pesóle en su corazón.

6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

6:7 Y dijo Jehová: Raeré los hombres que he criado de sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y hasta el reptil y las aves del cielo: porque me arrepiento de haberlos hecho.

6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents me that I have made them.

6:8 Empero Noé halló gracia en los ojos de Jehová.

6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

6:9 Estas son las generaciones de Noé: Noé, varón justo, perfecto fué en sus generaciones; con Dios caminó Noé.

6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

6:10 Y engendró Noé tres hijos: á Sem, á Châm, y á Japhet.

6:10 And Noah brings forth three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

6:11 Y corrompióse la tierra delante de Dios, y estaba la tierra llena de violencia.

6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

6:12 Y miró Dios la tierra, y he aquí que estaba corrompida; porque toda carne había corrompido su camino sobre la tierra.

6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

6:13 Y dijo Dios á Noé: El fin de toda carne ha venido delante de mí; porque la tierra está llena de violencia á causa de ellos; y he aquí que yo los destruiré con la tierra.

6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

6:14 Hazte un arca de madera de Gopher: harás aposentos en el arca y la embetunarás con brea por dentro y por fuera.

6:14 Make you an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall you make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without with pitch.

6:15 Y de esta manera la harás: de trescientos codos la longitud del arca, de cincuenta codos su anchura, y de treinta codos su altura.

6:15 And this is the fashion which you shall make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

6:16 Una ventana harás al arca, y la acabarás á un codo de elevación por la parte de arriba: y pondrás la puerta del arca á su lado; y le harás piso bajo, segundo y tercero.

6:16 A window shall you make to the ark, and in a cubit shall you finish it above; and the door of the ark shall you set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shall you make it.

6:17 Y yo, he aquí que yo traigo un diluvio de aguas sobre la tierra, para destruir toda carne en que haya espíritu de vida debajo del cielo; todo lo que hay en la tierra morirá.

6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

6:18 Mas estableceré mi pacto contigo, y entrarás en el arca tú, y tus hijos y tu mujer, y las mujeres de tus hijos contigo.

6:18 But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

6:19 Y de todo lo que vive, de toda carne, dos de cada especie meterás en el arca, para que tengan vida contigo; macho y hembra serán.

6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.

6:20 De las aves según su especie, y de las bestias según su especie, de todo reptil de la tierra según su especie, dos de cada especie entrarán contigo para que hayan vida.

6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto you, to keep them alive.

6:21 Y toma contigo de toda vianda que se come, y allégala á ti; servirá de alimento para ti y para ellos.

6:21 And take you unto you of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you; and it shall be for food for you, and for them.

6:22 E hízolo así Noé; hizo conforme á todo lo que Dios le mandó.

6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

7:1 Y JEHOVA dijo á Noé: Entra tú y toda tu casa en el arca porque á ti he visto justo delante de mí en esta generación.

7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

7:2 De todo animal limpio te tomarás de siete en siete, macho y su hembra; mas de los animales que no son limpios, dos, macho y su hembra.

7:2 Of every clean beast you shall take to you by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

7:3 También de las aves de los cielos de siete en siete, macho y hembra; para guardar en vida la casta sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

7:4 Porque pasados aún siete días, yo haré llover sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches; y raeré toda sustancia que hice de sobre la faz de la tierra.

7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

7:5 E hizo Noé conforme á todo lo que le mandó Jehová.

7:5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

7:6 Y siendo Noé de seiscientos años, el diluvio de las aguas fué sobre la tierra.

7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

7:7 Y vino Noé, y sus hijos, y su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos con él al arca, por las aguas del diluvio.

7:7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

7:8 De los animales limpios, y de los animales que no eran limpios, y de las aves, y de todo lo que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra,

7:8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creeps upon the earth,

7:9 De dos en dos entraron á Noé en el arca: macho y hembra, como mandó Dios á Noé.

7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

7:10 Y sucedió que al séptimo día las aguas del diluvio fueron sobre la tierra.

7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

7:11 El año seiscientos de la vida de Noé, en el mes segundo á diecisiete días del mes, aquel día fueron rotas todas las fuentes del grande abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos fueron abiertas;

7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

7:12 Y hubo lluvia sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.

7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

7:13 En este mismo día entró Noé, y Sem, y Châm y Japhet, hijos de Noé, la mujer de Noé, y las tres mujeres de sus hijos con él en el arca;

7:13 In the very same day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

7:14 Ellos y todos los animales silvestres según sus especies, y todos los animales mansos según sus especies, y todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra según su especie, y toda ave según su especie, todo pájaro, toda especie de volátil.

7:14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

7:15 Y vinieron á Noé al arca, de dos en dos de toda carne en que había espíritu de vida.

7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

7:16 Y los que vinieron, macho y hembra de toda carne vinieron, como le había mandado Dios: y Jehová le cerró la puerta

7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

7:17 Y fué el diluvio cuarenta días sobre la tierra; y las aguas crecieron, y alzaron el arca, y se elevó sobre la tierra.

7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

7:18 Y prevalecieron las aguas, y crecieron en gran manera sobre la tierra; y andaba el arca sobre la faz de las aguas.

7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

7:19 Y las aguas prevalecieron mucho en extremo sobre la tierra; y todos los montes altos que había debajo de todos los cielos, fueron cubiertos.

7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

7:20 Quince codos en alto prevalecieron las aguas; y fueron cubiertos los montes.

7:20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

7:21 Y murió toda carne que se mueve sobre la tierra, así de aves como de ganados, y de bestias, y de todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, y todo hombre:

7:21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man:

7:22 Todo lo que tenía aliento de espíritu de vida en sus narices, de todo lo que había en la tierra, murió.

7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

7:23 Así fué destruída toda sustancia que vivía sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y los reptiles, y las aves del cielo; y fueron raídos de la tierra; y quedó solamente Noé, y lo que con él estaba en el arca.

7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

7:24 Y prevalecieron las aguas sobre la tierra ciento y cincuenta días.

7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

8:1 Y ACORDOSE Dios de Noé, y de todos los animales, y de todas las bestias que estaban con él en el arca; é hizo pasar Dios un viento sobre la tierra, y disminuyeron las aguas.

8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided;

8:2 Y se cerraron las fuentes del abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos; y la lluvia de los cielos fué detenida.

8:2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

8:3 Y tornáronse las aguas de sobre la tierra, yendo y volviendo: y decrecieron las aguas al cabo de ciento y cincuenta días.

8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were decreased.

8:4 Y reposó el arca en el mes séptimo, á dicisiete días del mes, sobre los montes de Armenia.

8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

8:5 Y las aguas fueron decreciendo hasta el mes décimo: en el décimo, al primero del mes, se descubrieron las cimas de los montes.

8:5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

8:6 Y sucedió que, al cabo de cuarenta días, abrió Noé la ventana del arca que había hecho,

8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

8:7 Y envió al cuervo, el cual salió, y estuvo yendo y tornando hasta que las aguas se secaron de sobre la tierra.

8:7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth back and forth, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8:8 Envió también de sí á la paloma, para ver si las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la faz de la tierra;

8:8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were decreased from off the face of the ground;

8:9 Y no halló la paloma donde sentar la planta de su pie, y volvióse á él al arca, porque las aguas estaban aún sobre la faz de toda la tierra: entonces él extendió su mano y cogiéndola, hízola entrar consigo en el arca.

8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

8:10 Y esperó aún otros siete días, y volvió á enviar la paloma fuera del arca.

8:10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

8:11 Y la paloma volvió á él á la hora de la tarde: y he aquí que traía una hoja de oliva tomada en su pico: y entendió Noé que las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la tierra.

8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were decreased from off the earth.

8:12 Y esperó aún otros siete días, y envió la paloma, la cual no volvió ya más á él.

8:12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

8:13 Y sucedió que en el año seiscientos y uno de Noé, en el mes primero, al primero del mes, las aguas se enjugaron de sobre la tierra y quitó Noé la cubierta del arca, y miró, y he aquí que la faz de la tierra estaba enjuta.

8:13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

8:14 Y en el mes segundo, á los veintisiete días del mes, se secó la tierra.

8:14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

8:15 Y habló Dios á Noé diciendo:

8:15 And God spoke unto Noah, saying,

8:16 Sal del arca tú, y tu mujer, y tus hijos, y las mujeres de tus hijos contigo.

8:16 Go out of the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons' wives with you.

8:17 Todos los animales que están contigo de toda carne, de aves y de bestias y de todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, sacarás contigo; y vayan por la tierra, y fructifiquen, y multiplíquense sobre la tierra.

8:17 Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

8:18 Entonces salió Noé, y sus hijos, y su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos con él.

8:18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

8:19 Todos los animales, y todo reptil y toda ave, todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra según sus especies, salieron del arca.

8:19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creeps upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

8:20 Y edificó Noé un altar á Jehová y tomó de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, y ofreció holocausto en el altar.

8:20 And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

8:21 Y percibió Jehová olor de suavidad; y dijo Jehová en su corazón: No tornaré más á maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre; porque el intento del corazón del hombre es malo desde su juventud: ni volveré más á destruir todo viviente, como he hecho.

8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again strike any more every thing living, as I have done.

8:22 Todavía serán todos los tiempos de la tierra; la sementera y la siega, y el frío y calor, verano é invierno, y día y noche, no cesarán.

8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

9:1 Y BENDIJO Dios á Noé y á sus hijos, y díjoles: Fructificad, y multiplicad, y henchid la tierra:

9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

9:2 Y vuestro temor y vuestro pavor será sobre todo animal de la tierra, y sobre toda ave de los cielos, en todo lo que se moverá en la tierra, y en todos los peces del mar: en vuestra mano son entregados.

9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

9:3 Todo lo que se mueve y vive, os será para mantenimiento: así como las legumbres y hierbas, os lo he dado todo.

9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

9:4 Empero carne con su vida, que es su sangre, no comeréis.

9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall all of you not eat.

9:5 Porque ciertamente demandaré la sangre de vuestras vidas; de mano de todo animal la demandaré, y de mano del hombre; de mano del varón su hermano demandaré la vida del hombre.

9:5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

9:6 El que derramare sangre del hombre, por el hombre su sangre será derramada; porque á imagen de Dios es hecho el hombre.

9:6 Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

9:7 Mas vosotros fructificad, y multiplicaos; procread abundantemente en la tierra, y multiplicaos en ella.

9:7 And you, be all of you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

9:8 Y habló Dios á Noé y á sus hijos con él, diciendo:

9:8 And God spoke unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9:9 Yo, he aquí que yo establezco mi pacto con vosotros, y con vuestra simiente después de vosotros;

9:9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

9:10 Y con toda alma viviente que está con vosotros, de aves, de animales, y de toda bestia de la tierra que está con vosotros; desde todos los que salieron del arca hasta todo animal de la tierra.

9:10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

9:11 Estableceré mi pacto con vosotros, y no fenecerá ya más toda carne con aguas de diluvio; ni habrá más diluvio para destruir la tierra.

9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

9:12 Y dijo Dios: Esta será la señal del pacto que yo establezco entre mí y vosotros y toda alma viviente que está con vosotros, por siglos perpetuos:

9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

9:13 Mi arco pondré en las nubes, el cual será por señal de convenio entre mí y la tierra.

9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

9:14 Y será que cuando haré venir nubes sobre la tierra, se dejará ver entonces mi arco en las nubes.

9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

9:15 Y acordarme he del pacto mío, que hay entre mí y vosotros y toda alma viviente de toda carne; y no serán más las aguas por diluvio para destruir toda carne.

9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

9:16 Y estará el arco en las nubes, y verlo he para acordarme del pacto perpetuo entre Dios y toda alma viviente, con toda carne que hay sobre la tierra.

9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

9:17 Dijo, pues, Dios á Noé: Esta será la señal del pacto que he establecido entre mí y toda carne que está sobre la tierra.

9:17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

9:18 Y los hijos de Noé que salieron del arca fueron Sem, Châm y Japhet: y Châm es el padre de Canaán.

9:18 And the sons of Noah, that went out of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

9:19 Estos tres son los hijos de Noé; y de ellos fué llena toda la tierra.

9:19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

9:20 Y comenzó Noé á labrar la tierra, y plantó una viña:

9:20 And Noah began to be an farmer, and he planted a vineyard:

9:21 Y bebió del vino, y se embriagó, y estaba descubierto en medio de su tienda.

9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

9:22 Y Châm, padre de Canaán, vió la desnudez de su padre, y díjolo á sus dos hermanos á la parte de afuera.

9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

9:23 Entonces Sem y Japhet tomaron la ropa, y la pusieron sobre sus propios hombros, y andando hacia atrás, cubrieron la desnudez de su padre teniendo vueltos sus rostros, y así no vieron la desnudez de su padre.

9:23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

9:24 Y despertó Noé de su vino, y supo lo que había hecho con él su hijo el más joven;

9:24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

9:25 Y dijo: Maldito sea Canaán; Siervo de siervos será á sus hermanos.

9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

9:26 Dijo más: Bendito Jehová el Dios de Sem, Y séale Canaán siervo.

9:26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

9:27 Engrandezca Dios á Japhet, Y habite en las tiendas de Sem, Y séale Canaán siervo.

9:27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

9:28 Y vivió Noé después del diluvio trescientos y cincuenta años.

9:28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

9:29 Y fueron todos los días de Noé novecientos y cincuenta años; y murió.

9:29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

10:2 Los hijos de Japhet: Gomer, y Magog, y Madai, y Javán, y Tubal, y Meshech, y Tiras.

10:2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

10:3 Y los hijos de Gomer: Ashkenaz, y Riphat, y Togorma.

10:3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

10:4 Y los hijos de Javán: Elisa, y Tarsis, Kittim, y Dodanim.

10:4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

10:5 Por éstos fueron repartidas las islas de las gentes en sus tierras, cada cual según su lengua, conforme á sus familias en sus naciones.

10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

10:6 Los hijos de Châm: Cush, y Mizraim, y Phut, y Canaán.

10:6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

10:7 Y los hijos de Cush: Seba, Havila, y Sabta, y Raama, y Sabtecha. Y los hijos de Raama: Sheba y Dedán.

10:7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

10:8 Y Cush engendró á Nimrod, éste comenzó á ser poderoso en la tierra.

10:8 And Cush brings forth Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

10:9 Este fué vigoroso cazador delante de Jehová; por lo cual se dice: Así como Nimrod, vigoroso cazador delante de Jehová.

10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

10:10 Y fué la cabecera de su reino Babel, y Erech, y Accad, y Calneh, en la tierra de Shinar.

10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

10:11 De aquesta tierra salió Assur, y edificó á Nínive, y á Rehoboth, y á Calah,

10:11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

10:12 Y á Ressen entre Nínive y Calah; la cual es ciudad grande.

10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

10:13 Y Mizraim engendró á Ludim, y á Anamim, y á Lehabim, y á Naphtuhim,

10:13 And Mizraim brings forth Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

10:14 Y á Pathrusim, y á Casluim de donde salieron los Filisteos, y á Caphtorim.

10:14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

10:15 Y Canaán engendró á Sidón, su primogénito y á Heth,

10:15 And Canaan brings forth Sidon his first born, and Heth,

10:16 Y al Jebuseo, y al Amorrheo, y al Gergeseo,

10:16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

10:17 Y al Heveo, y al Araceo, y al Sineo,

10:17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

10:18 Y al Aradio, y al Samareo, y al Amatheo: y después se derramaron las familias de los Cananeos.

10:18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

10:19 Y fué el término de los Cananeos desde Sidón, viniendo á Gerar hasta Gaza, hasta entrar en Sodoma y Gomorra, Adma, y Zeboim hasta Lasa.

10:19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, unto Gaza; as you go, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

10:20 Estos son los hijos de Châm por sus familias, por sus lenguas, en sus tierras, en sus naciones.

10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

10:21 También le nacieron hijos á Sem, padre de todos los hijos de Heber, y hermano mayor de Japhet.

10:21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

10:22 Y los hijos de Sem: Elam, y Assur, y Arphaxad, y Lud, y Aram.

10:22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

10:23 Y los hijos de Aram: Uz, y Hul, y Gether, y Mas.

10:23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

10:24 Y Arphaxad engendró á Sala, y Sala engendró á Heber.

10:24 And Arphaxad brings forth Salah; and Salah brings forth Eber.

10:25 Y á Heber nacieron dos hijos: el nombre de uno fué Peleg, porque en sus días fué repartida la tierra; y el nombre de su hermano, Joctán.

10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

10:26 Y Joctán engendró á Almodad, y á Sheleph, y Hazarmaveth, y á Jera,

10:26 And Joktan brings forth Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

10:27 Y á Hadoram, y á Uzal, y á Dicla,

10:27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

10:28 Y á Obal, y á Abimael, y á Seba,

10:28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

10:29 Y á Ophir, y á Havila, y á Jobad: todos estos fueron hijos de Joctán.

10:29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

10:30 Y fué su habitación desde Mesa viniendo de Sephar, monte á la parte del oriente.

10:30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go unto Sephar a mount of the east.

10:31 Estos fueron los hijos de Sem por sus familias, por sus lenguas, en sus tierras, en sus naciones.

10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

10:32 Estas son las familias de Noé por sus descendencias, en sus naciones; y de éstos fueron divididas las gentes en la tierra después del diluvio.

10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

11:1 ERA entonces toda la tierra de una lengua y unas mismas palabras.

11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

11:2 Y aconteció que, como se partieron de oriente, hallaron una vega en la tierra de Shinar, y asentaron allí.

11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

11:3 Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.

11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and bitumen had they for mortar.

11:4 Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

11:5 Y descendió Jehová para ver la ciudad y la torre que edificaban los hijos de los hombres.

11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

11:6 Y dijo Jehová: He aquí el pueblo es uno, y todos éstos tienen un lenguaje: y han comenzado á obrar, y nada les retraerá ahora de lo que han pensando hacer.

11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

11:7 Ahora pues, descendamos, y confundamos allí sus lenguas, para que ninguno entienda el habla de su compañero.

11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

11:8 Así los esparció Jehová desde allí sobre la faz de toda la tierra, y dejaron de edificar la ciudad.

11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

11:9 Por esto fué llamado el nombre de ella Babel, porque allí confudió Jehová el lenguaje de toda la tierra, y desde allí los esparció sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

11:10 Estas son las generaciones de Sem: Sem, de edad de cien años, engendró á Arphaxad, dos años después del diluvio.

11:10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and brings forth Arphaxad two years after the flood:

11:11 Y vivió Sem, después que engendró á Arphaxad quinientos años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:11 And Shem lived after he brings forth Arphaxad five hundred years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:12 Y Arphaxad vivió treinta y cinco años, y engendró á Sala.

11:12 And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and brings forth Salah:

11:13 Y vivió Arphaxad, después que engendró á Sala, cuatrocientos y tres años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:13 And Arphaxad lived after he brings forth Salah four hundred and three years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:14 Y vivió Sala treinta años, y engendró á Heber.

11:14 And Salah lived thirty years, and brings forth Eber:

11:15 Y vivió Sala, después que engendró á Heber, cuatrocientos y tres años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:15 And Salah lived after he brings forth Eber four hundred and three years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:16 And Eber lived four and thirty years, and brings forth Peleg:

11:18 Y vivió Peleg, treinta años, y engendró á Reu.

11:18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and brings forth Reu:

11:19 Y vivió Peleg, después que engendró á Reu, doscientos y nueve años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:19 And Peleg lived after he brings forth Reu two hundred and nine years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:20 And Reu lived two and thirty years, and brings forth Serug:

11:22 And Serug lived thirty years, and brings forth Nahor:

11:23 Y vivió Serug, después que engendró á Nachôr, doscientos años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:23 And Serug lived after he brings forth Nahor two hundred years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:24 Y vivió Nachôr veintinueve años, y engendró á Thare.

11:24 And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and brings forth Terah:

11:25 Y vivió Nachôr, después que engendró á Thare, ciento diecinueve años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

11:25 And Nahor lived after he brings forth Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and brings forth sons and daughters.

11:26 Y vivió Thare setenta años, y engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán.

11:26 And Terah lived seventy years, and brings forth Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

11:27 Estas son las generaciones de Thare: Thare engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán; y Harán engendró á Lot.

11:27 Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah brings forth Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran brings forth Lot.

11:28 Y murió Harán antes que su padre Thare en la tierra de su naturaleza, en Ur de los Caldeos.

11:28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

11:29 Y tomaron Abram y Nachôr para sí mujeres: el nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nachôr, Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca y de Isca.

11:29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

11:30 Mas Sarai fué esteril, y no tenía hijo.

11:30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

11:31 Y tomó Thare á Abram su hijo, y á Lot hijo de Harán, hijo de su hijo, y á Sarai su nuera, mujer de Abram su hijo: y salió con ellos de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir á la tierra de Canaán: y vinieron hasta Harán, y asentaron allí.

11:31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

11:32 Y fueron los días de Thare doscientos y cinco años; y murió Thare en Harán.

11:32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

12:1 EMPERO Jehová había dicho á Abram: Vete de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y de la casa de tu padre, á la tierra que te mostraré;

12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you:

12:2 Y haré de ti una nación grande, y bendecirte he, y engrandeceré tu nombre, y serás bendición:

12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:

12:3 Y bendeciré á los que te bendijeren, y á los que te maldijeren maldeciré: y serán benditas en ti todas las familias de la tierra.

12:3 And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.

12:4 Y fuése Abram, como Jehová le dijo; y fué con él Lot: y era Abram de edad de setenta y cinco años cuando salió de Harán.

12:4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

12:5 Y tomó Abram á Sarai su mujer, y á Lot hijo de su hermano, y toda su hacienda que habían ganado, y las almas que habían adquirido en Harán, y salieron para ir á tierra de Canaán; y á tierra de Canaán llegaron.

12:5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had got in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

12:6 Y pasó Abram por aquella tierra hasta el lugar de Sichêm, hasta el valle de Moreh: y el Cananeo estaba entonces en la tierra.

12:6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

12:7 Y apareció Jehová á Abram, y le dijo: A tu simiente daré esta tierra. Y edificó allí un altar á Jehová, que le había aparecido.

12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto your seed will I give this land: and there built he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

12:8 Y pasóse de allí á un monte al oriente de Bethel, y tendió su tienda, teniendo á Bethel al occidente y Hai al oriente: y edificó allí altar á Jehová é invocó el nombre de Jehová.

12:8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he built an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

12:9 Y movió Abram de allí, caminando y yendo hacia el Mediodía.

12:9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.

12:10 Y hubo hambre en la tierra, y descendió Abram á Egipto para peregrinar allá; porque era grande el hambre en la tierra.

12:10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

12:11 Y aconteció que cuando estaba para entrar en Egipto, dijo á Sarai su mujer: He aquí, ahora conozco que eres mujer hermosa de vista;

12:11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that you are a fair woman to look upon:

12:12 Y será que cuando te habrán visto los Egipcios, dirán: Su mujer es: y me matarán á mí, y á ti te reservarán la vida.

12:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see you, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save you alive.

12:13 Ahora pues, di que eres mi hermana, para que yo haya bien por causa tuya, y viva mi alma por amor de ti.

12:13 Say, I pray you, you are my sister: that it may be well with me for your sake; and my soul shall live because of you.

12:14 Y aconteció que, como entró Abram en Egipto, los Egipcios vieron la mujer que era hermosa en gran manera.

12:14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

12:15 Viéronla también los príncipes de Faraón, y se la alabaron; y fué llevada la mujer á casa de Faraón:

12:15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

12:16 E hizo bien á Abram por causa de ella; y tuvo ovejas, y vacas, y asnos, y siervos, y criadas, y asnas y camellos.

12:16 And he pleaded Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and male servants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.

12:17 Mas Jehová hirió á Faraón y á su casa con grandes plagas, por causa de Sarai mujer de Abram.

12:17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.

12:18 Entonces Faraón llamó á Abram y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho conmigo? ¿Por qué no me declaraste que era tu mujer?

12:18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that you have done unto me? why did you not tell me that she was your wife?

12:19 ¿Por qué dijiste: Es mi hermana? poniéndome en ocasión de tomarla para mí por mujer? Ahora pues, he aquí tu mujer, tómala y vete.

12:19 Why said you, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold your wife, take her, and go your way.

12:20 Entonces Faraón dió orden á sus gentes acerca de Abram; y le acompañaron, y á su mujer con todo lo que tenía.

12:20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

Genesis / GÉNESIS

13:1 SUBIO, pues, Abram de Egipto hacia el Mediodía, él y su mujer, con todo lo que tenía, y con él Lot.

13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

13:2 Y Abram era riquísimo en ganado, en plata y oro.

13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

13:3 Y volvió por sus jornadas de la parte del Mediodía hacia Bethel, hasta el lugar donde había estado antes su tienda entre Bethel y Hai;

13:3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;

13:4 Al lugar del altar que había hecho allí antes: é invocó allí Abram el nombre de Jehová.

13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had make there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

13:5 Y asimismo Lot, que andaba con Abram, tenía ovejas, y vacas, y tiendas.

13:5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

13:6 Y la tierra no podía darles para que habitasen juntos: porque su hacienda era mucha, y no podían morar en un mismo lugar.

13:6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

13:7 Y hubo contienda entre los pastores del ganado de Abram y los pastores del ganado de Lot: y el Cananeo y el Pherezeo habitaban entonces en la tierra.

13:7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

13:8 Entonces Abram dijo á Lot: No haya ahora altercado entre mí y ti, entre mis pastores y los tuyos, porque somos hermanos.

13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray you, between me and you, and between my herdmen and your herdmen; for we be brethren.

13:9 ¿No está toda la tierra delante de ti? Yo te ruego que te apartes de mí. Si fueres á la mano izquierda, yo iré á la derecha: y si tú á la derecha, yo iré á la izquierda.

13:9 Is not the whole land before you? separate yourself, I pray you, from me: if you will take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if you depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

13:10 Y alzó Lot sus ojos, y vió toda la llanura del Jordán, que toda ella era de riego, antes que destruyese Jehová á Sodoma y á Gomorra, como el huerto de Jehová, como la tierra de Egipto entrando en Zoar.

13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as you come unto Zoar.

13:11 Entonces Lot escogió para sí toda la llanura del Jordán: y partióse Lot de Oriente, y apartáronse el uno del otro.

13:11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

13:12 Abram asentó en la tierra de Canaán, y Lot asentó en las ciudades de la llanura, y fué poniendo sus tiendas hasta Sodoma.

13:12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13:13 Mas los hombres de Sodoma eran malos y pecadores para con Jehová en gran manera.

13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

13:14 Y Jehová dijo á Abram, después que Lot se apartó de él: Alza ahora tus ojos, y mira desde el lugar donde estás hacia el Aquilón, y al Mediodía, y al Oriente y al Occidente;

13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now yours eyes, and look from the place where you are northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

13:15 Porque toda la tierra que ves, la daré á ti y á tu simiente para siempre.

13:15 For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed for ever.

13:16 Y haré tu simiente como el polvo de la tierra: que si alguno podrá contar el polvo de la tierra, también tu simiente será contada.

13:16 And I will make your seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall your seed also be numbered.

13:17 Levántate, ve por la tierra á lo largo de ella y á su ancho; porque á ti la tengo de dar.

13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto you.

13:18 Abram, pues, removiendo su tienda, vino y moró en el alcornocal de Mamre, que es en Hebrón, y edificó allí altar á Jehová.

13:18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

14:1 Y ACONTECIO en los días de Amraphel, rey de Shinar, Arioch, rey de Elazar, Chêdorlaomer, rey de Elá, y Tidal, rey de naciones,

14:1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

14:2 Que éstos hicieron guerra contra Bera, rey de Sodoma, y contra Birsha, rey de Gomorra, y contra Shinab, rey de Adma, y contra Shemeber, rey de Zeboim, y contra el rey de Bela, la cual es Zoar.

14:2 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

14:3 Todos estos se juntaron en el valle de Siddim, que es el mar salado.

14:3 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

14:4 Doce años habían servido á Chêdorlaomer, y al décimotercio año se rebelaron.

14:4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

14:5 Y en el año décimocuarto vino Chêdorlaomer, y los reyes que estaban de su parte, y derrotaron á los Raphaitas en Ashteroth-carnaim, á los Zuzitas en Ham, y á los Emitas en Shave-Kiriataim.

14:5 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and stroke the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

14:6 Y á los Horeos en el monte de Seir, hasta la llanura de Parán, que está junto al desierto.

14:6 And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.

14:7 Y volvieron y vinieron á Emmisphat, que es Cades, y devastaron todas las haciendas de los Amalacitas, y también al Amorrheo, que habitaba en Hazezón-tamar.

14:7 And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and stroke all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar.

14:8 Y salió el rey de Sodoma, y el rey de Gomorra, y el rey de Adma, y el rey de Zeboim, y el rey de Bela, que es Zoar, y ordenaron contra ellos batalla en el valle de Siddim;

14:8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

14:9 Es á saber, contra Chêdorlaomer, rey de Elam, y Tidal, rey de naciones, y Amraphel, rey de Shinar, y Arioch, rey de Elasar; cuatro reyes contra cinco.

14:9 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

14:10 Y el valle de Siddim estaba lleno de pozos de betún: y huyeron el rey de Sodoma y el de Gomorra, y cayeron allí; y los demás huyeron al monte.

14:10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

14:11 Y tomaron toda la riqueza de Sodoma y de Gomorra, y todas sus vituallas, y se fueron.

14:11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

14:12 Tomaron también á Lot, hijo del hermano de Abram, que moraba en Sodoma, y su hacienda, y se fueron.

14:12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

14:13 Y vino uno de los que escaparon, y denunciólo á Abram el Hebreo, que habitaba en el valle de Mamre Amorrheo, hermano de Eschôl y hermano de Aner, los cuales estaban confederados con Abram.

14:13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

14:14 Y oyó Abram que su hermano estaba prisionero, y armó sus criados, los criados de su casa, trescientos dieciocho, y siguiólos hasta Dan.

14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

14:15 Y derramóse sobre ellos de noche él y sus siervos, é hiriólos, y fuélos siguiendo hasta Hobah, que está á la izquierda de Damasco.

14:15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and stroke them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

14:16 Y recobró todos los bienes, y también á Lot su hermano y su hacienda, y también las mujeres y gente.

14:16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

14:17 Y salió el rey de Sodoma á recibirlo, cuando volvía de la derrota de Chêdorlaomer y de los reyes que con él estaban, al valle de Shave, que es el valle del Rey.

14:17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.

14:18 Entonces Melchîsedec, rey de Salem, sacó pan y vino; el cual era sacerdote del Dios alto;

14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

14:19 Y bendíjole, y dijo: Bendito sea Abram del Dios alto, poseedor de los cielos y de la tierra;

14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

14:20 Y bendito sea el Dios alto, que entregó tus enemigos en tu mano. Y dióle Abram los diezmos de todo.

14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which has delivered yours enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

14:21 Entonces el rey de Sodoma dijo á Abram: Dame las personas, y toma para ti la hacienda.

14:21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to yourself.

14:22 Y respondió Abram al rey de Sodoma: He alzado mi mano á Jehová Dios alto, poseedor de los cielos y de la tierra,

14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

14:23 Que desde un hilo hasta la correa de un calzado, nada tomaré de todo lo que es tuyo, porque no digas: Yo enriquecí á Abram:

14:23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe lace, and that I will not take any thing that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich:

14:24 Sacando solamente lo que comieron los mancebos, y la porción de los varones que fueron conmigo, Aner, Eschôl, y Mamre; los cuales tomarán su parte.

14:24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
