15:1 DESPUÉS de estas cosas fué la palabra de Jehová á Abram en visión, diciendo: No temas, Abram; yo soy tu escudo, y tu galardón sobremanera grande.
15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward.
15:2 Y respondió Abram: Señor Jehová ¿qué me has de dar, siendo así que ando sin hijo, y el mayordomo de mi casa es ese Damasceno Eliezer?
15:2 And Abram said, LORD God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
15:3 Dijo más Abram: Mira que no me has dado prole, y he aquí que es mi heredero uno nacido en mi casa.
15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me you have given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
15:4 Y luego la palabra de Jehová fué á él diciendo: No te heredará éste, sino el que saldrá de tus entrañas será el que te herede.
15:4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be yours heir; but he that shall come forth out of yours own bowels shall be yours heir.
15:5 Y sacóle fuera, y dijo: Mira ahora á los cielos, y cuenta las estrellas, si las puedes contar. Y le dijo: Así será tu simiente.
15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your seed be.
15:6 Y creyó á Jehová, y contóselo por justicia.
15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
15:7 Y díjole: Yo soy Jehová, que te saqué de Ur de los Caldeos, para darte á heredar esta tierra.
15:7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.
15:8 Y él respondió: Señor Jehová ¿en qué conoceré que la tengo de heredar?
15:8 And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
15:9 Y le dijo: Apártame una becerra de tres años, y una cabra de tres años, y un carnero de tres años, una tórtola también, y un palomino.
15:9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
15:10 Y tomó él todas estas cosas, y partiólas por la mitad, y puso cada mitad una enfrente de otra; mas no partió las aves.
15:10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
15:11 Y descendían aves sobre los cuerpos muertos, y ojeábalas Abram.
15:11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
15:12 Mas á la caída del sol sobrecogió el sueño á Abram, y he aquí que el pavor de una grande obscuridad cayó sobre él.
15:12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
15:13 Entonces dijo á Abram: Ten por cierto que tu simiente será peregrina en tierra no suya, y servirá á los de allí, y serán por ellos afligidos cuatrocientos años.
15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know certainly that your seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
15:14 Mas también á la gente á quien servirán, juzgaré yo; y después de esto saldrán con grande riqueza.
15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15:15 Y tú vendrás á tus padres en paz, y serás sepultado en buena vejez.
15:15 And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.
15:16 Y en la cuarta generación volverán acá: porque aun no está cumplida la maldad del Amorrheo hasta aquí.
15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall come here again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
15:17 Y sucedió que puesto el sol, y ya obscurecido, dejóse ver un horno humeando, y una antorcha de fuego que pasó por entre los animales divididos.
15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
15:18 En aquel día hizo Jehová un pacto con Abram diciendo: A tu simiente daré esta tierra desde el río de Egipto hasta el río grande, el río Eufrates;
15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
15:19 Los Cineos, y los Ceneceos, y los Cedmoneos,
15:19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
15:20 Y los Hetheos, y los Pherezeos, y los Raphaitas,
15:20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
15:21 Y los Amorrheos, y los Cananeos, y los Gergeseos, y los Jebuseos.
15:21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

16:1 Y SARAI, mujer de Abram no le paría: y ella tenía una sierva egipcia, que se llamaba Agar.
16:1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
16:2 Dijo, pues, Sarai á Abram: Ya ves que Jehová me ha hecho estéril: ruégote que entres á mi sierva; quizá tendré hijos de ella. Y atendió Abram al dicho de Sarai.
16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing: I pray you, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
16:3 Y Sarai, mujer de Abram, tomó á Agar su sierva egipcia, al cabo de diez años que había habitado Abram en la tierra de Canaán, y dióla á Abram su marido por mujer.
16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
16:4 Y él cohabitó con Agar, la cual concibió: y cuando vió que había concebido, miraba con desprecio á su señora.
16:4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
16:5 Entonces Sarai dijo á Abram: Mi afrenta sea sobre ti: yo puse mi sierva en tu seno, y viéndose embarazada, me mira con desprecio; juzgue Jehová entre mí y ti.
16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon you: I have given my maid into your bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and you.
16:6 Y respondió Abram á Sarai: He ahí tu sierva en tu mano, haz con ella lo que bien te pareciere. Y como Sarai la afligiese, huyóse de su presencia.
16:6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, your maid is in yours hand; do to her as it pleases you. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.
16:7 Y hallóla el ángel de Jehová junto á una fuente de agua en el desierto, junto á la fuente que está en el camino del Sur.
16:7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
16:8 Y le dijo: Agar, sierva de Sarai, ¿de dónde vienes tú, y á dónde vas? Y ella respondió: Huyo de delante de Sarai, mi señora.
16:8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence came you? and where will you go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
16:9 Y díjole el ángel de Jehová: Vuélvete á tu señora, y ponte sumisa bajo de su mano.
16:9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.
16:10 Díjole también el ángel de Jehová: Multiplicaré tanto tu linaje, que no será contado á causa de la muchedumbre.
16:10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
16:11 Díjole aún el ángel de Jehová: He aquí que has concebido, y parirás un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Ismael, porque oído ha Jehová tu aflicción.
16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, you are with child and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has heard your affliction.
16:12 Y él será hombre fiero; su mano contra todos, y las manos de todos contra él, y delante de todos sus hermanos habitará.
16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
16:13 Entonces llamó el nombre de Jehová que con ella hablaba: Tú eres el Dios de la vista; porque dijo: ¿No he visto también aquí al que me ve?
16:13 And she called the name of the LORD that spoke unto her, You God see me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that sees me?
16:14 Por lo cual llamó al pozo, Pozo del Viviente que me ve. He aquí está entre Cades y Bered.
16:14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
16:15 Y parió Agar á Abram un hijo y llamó Abram el nombre de su hijo que le parió Agar, Ismael.
16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
16:16 Y era Abram de edad de ochenta y seis años, cuando parió Agar á Ismael.
16:16 And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

17:1 Y SIENDO Abram de edad de noventa y nueve años, aparecióle Jehová, y le dijo: Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; anda delante de mí, y sé perfecto.
17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect.
17:2 Y pondré mi pacto entre mí y ti, y multiplicarte he mucho en gran manera.
17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
17:3 Entonces Abram cayó sobre su rostro, y Dios habló con él diciendo:
17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
17:4 Yo, he aquí mi pacto contigo: Serás padre de muchedumbre de gentes:
17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
17:5 Y no se llamará más tu nombre Abram, sino que será tu nombre Abraham, porque te he puesto por padre de muchedumbre de gentes.
17:5 Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made you.
17:6 Y multiplicarte he mucho en gran manera, y te pondré en gentes, y reyes saldrán de ti.
17:6 And I will make you exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you.
17:7 Y estableceré mi pacto entre mí y ti, y tu simiente después de ti en sus generaciones, por alianza perpetua, para serte á ti por Dios, y á tu simiente después de ti.
17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto you, and to your seed after you.
17:8 Y te daré á ti, y á tu simiente después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán en heredad perpetua; y seré el Dios de ellos.
17:8 And I will give unto you, and to your seed after you, the land wherein you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
17:9 Dijo de nuevo Dios á Abraham: Tú empero guardarás mi pacto, tú y tu simiente después de ti por sus generaciones.
17:9 And God said unto Abraham, You shall keep my covenant therefore, you, and your seed after you in their generations.
17:10 Este será mi pacto, que guardaréis entre mí y vosotros y tu simiente después de ti: Será circuncidado todo varón de entre vosotros.
17:10 This is my covenant, which all of you shall keep, between me and you and your seed after you; Every male child among you shall be circumcised.
17:11 Circuncidaréis, pues, la carne de vuestro prepucio, y será por señal del pacto entre mí y vosotros.
17:11 And all of you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you.
17:12 Y de edad de ocho días será circuncidado todo varón entre vosotros por vuestras generaciones: el nacido en casa, y el comprado á dinero de cualquier extranjero, que no fuere de tu simiente.
17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of your seed.
17:13 Debe ser circuncidado el nacido en tu casa, y el comprado por tu dinero: y estará mi pacto en vuestra carne para alianza perpetua.
17:13 He that is born in your house, and he that is bought with your money, must essentially be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
17:14 Y el varón incircunciso que no hubiere circuncidado la carne de su prepucio, aquella persona será borrada de su pueblo; ha violado mi pacto.
17:14 And the uncircumcised male child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.
17:15 Dijo también Dios á Abraham: A Sarai tu mujer no la llamarás Sarai, mas Sara será su nombre.
17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
17:16 Y bendecirla he, y también te daré de ella hijo; sí, la bendeciré, y vendrá á ser madre de naciones; reyes de pueblos serán de ella.
17:16 And I will bless her, and give you a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
17:17 Entonces Abraham cayó sobre su rostro, y rióse, y dijo en su corazón: ¿A hombre de cien años ha de nacer hijo? ¿y Sara, ya de noventa años, ha de parir?
17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
17:18 Y dijo Abraham á Dios: Ojalá Ismael viva delante de ti.
17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before you!
17:19 Y respondió Dios: Ciertamente Sara tu mujer te parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Isaac; y confirmaré mi pacto con él por alianza perpetua para su simiente después de él.
17:19 And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
17:20 Y en cuanto á Ismael, también te he oído: he aquí que le bendeciré, y le haré fructificar y multiplicar mucho en gran manera: doce príncipes engendrará, y ponerlo he por gran gente.
17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he brought forth, and I will make him a great nation.
17:21 Mas yo estableceré mi pacto con Isaac, al cual te parirá Sara por este tiempo el año siguiente.
17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto you at this set time in the next year.
17:22 Y acabó de hablar con él, y subió Dios de con Abraham.
17:22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
17:23 Entonces tomó Abraham á Ismael su hijo, y á todos los siervos nacidos en su casa, y á todos los comprados por su dinero, á todo varón entre los domésticos de la casa de Abraham, y circuncidó la carne del prepucio de ellos en aquel mismo día, como Dios le había dicho.
17:23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said unto him.
17:24 Era Abraham de edad de noventa y nueve años cuando circuncidó la carne de su prepucio.
17:24 And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
17:25 E Ismael su hijo era de trece años cuando fué circuncidada la carne de su prepucio.
17:25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
17:26 En el mismo día fué circuncidado Abraham é Ismael su hijo.
17:26 In the very same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
17:27 Y todos los varones de su casa, el siervo nacido en casa, y el comprado por dinero del extranjero, fueron circuncidados con él.
17:27 And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

18:1 Y APARECIOLE Jehová en el valle de Mamre, estando él sentado á la puerta de su tienda en el calor del día.
18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
18:2 Y alzó sus ojos y miró, y he aquí tres varones que estaban junto á él: y cuando los vió, salió corriendo de la puerta de su tienda á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia la tierra,
18:2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
18:3 Y dijo: Señor, si ahora he hallado gracia en tus ojos, ruégote que no pases de tu siervo.
18:3 And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in your sight, pass not away, I pray you, from your servant:
18:4 Que se traiga ahora un poco de agua, y lavad vuestros pies; y recostaos debajo de un árbol,
18:4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
18:5 Y traeré un bocado de pan, y sustentad vuestro corazón; después pasaréis: porque por eso habéis pasado cerca de vuestro siervo. Y ellos dijeron: Haz así como has dicho.
18:5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort all of you your hearts; after that all of you shall pass on: for therefore are all of you come to your servant. And they said, So do, as you have said.
18:6 Entonces Abraham fué de priesa á la tienda á Sara, y le dijo: Toma presto tres medidas de flor de harina, amasa y haz panes cocidos debajo del rescoldo.
18:6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
18:7 Y corrió Abraham á las vacas, y tomó un becerro tierno y bueno, y diólo al mozo, y dióse éste priesa á aderezarlo.
18:7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
18:8 Tomó también manteca y leche, y el becerro que había aderezado, y púsolo delante de ellos; y él estaba junto á ellos debajo del árbol; y comieron.
18:8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
18:9 Y le dijeron: ¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer? Y él respondió: Aquí en la tienda.
18:9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
18:10 Entonces dijo: De cierto volveré á ti según el tiempo de la vida, y he aquí, tendrá un hijo Sara tu mujer. Y Sara escuchaba á la puerta de la tienda, que estaba detrás de él.
18:10 And he said, I will certainly return unto you according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
18:11 Y Abraham y Sara eran viejos, entrados en días: á Sara había cesado ya la costumbre de las mujeres.
18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
18:12 Rióse, pues, Sara entre sí, diciendo: ¿Después que he envejecido tendré deleite, siendo también mi señor ya viejo?
18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
18:13 Entonces Jehová dijo á Abraham: ¿Por qué se ha reído Sara diciendo: Será cierto que he de parir siendo ya vieja?
18:13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I certainly bear a child, which am old?
18:14 ¿Hay para Dios alguna cosa difícil? Al tiempo señalado volveré á ti, según el tiempo de la vida, y Sara tendrá un hijo.
18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
18:15 Entonces Sara negó diciendo: No me reí; porque tuve miedo. Y él dijo: No es así, sino que te has reído.
18:15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but you did laugh.
18:16 Y los varones se levantaron de allí, y miraron hacia Sodoma: y Abraham iba con ellos acompañándolos.
18:16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
18:17 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Encubriré yo á Abraham lo que voy á hacer,
18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18:18 Habiendo de ser Abraham en una nación grande y fuerte, y habiendo de ser benditas en él todas las gentes de la tierra?
18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
18:19 Porque yo lo he conocido, sé que mandará á sus hijos y á su casa después de sí, que guarden el camino de Jehová, haciendo justicia y juicio, para que haga venir Jehová sobre Abraham lo que ha hablado acerca de él.
18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
18:20 Entonces Jehová le dijo: Por cuanto el clamor de Sodoma y Gomorra se aumenta más y más, y el pecado de ellos se ha agravado en extremo,
18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
18:21 Descenderé ahora, y veré si han consumado su obra según el clamor que ha venido hasta mí; y si no, saberlo he.
18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which has come unto me; and if not, I will know.
18:22 Y apartáronse de allí los varones, y fueron hacia Sodoma: mas Abraham estaba aún delante de Jehová.
18:22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
18:23 Y acercóse Abraham y dijo: ¿Destruirás también al justo con el impío?
18:23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Will you also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
18:24 Quizá hay cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad: ¿destruirás también y no perdonarás al lugar por cincuenta justos que estén dentro de él?
18:24 Possibly there be fifty righteous within the city: will you also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
18:25 Lejos de ti el hacer tal, que hagas morir al justo con el impío y que sea el justo tratado como el impío; nunca tal hagas. El juez de toda la tierra, ¿no ha de hacer lo que es justo?
18:25 That be far from you to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from you: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
18:26 Entonces respondió Jehová: Si hallare en Sodoma cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad, perdonaré á todo este lugar por amor de ellos.
18:26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
18:27 Y Abraham replicó y dijo: He aquí ahora que he comenzado á hablar á mi Señor, aunque soy polvo y ceniza:
18:27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD, which am but dust and ashes:
18:28 Quizá faltarán de cincuenta justos cinco: ¿destruirás por aquellos cinco toda la ciudad? Y dijo: No la destruiré, si hallare allí cuarenta y cinco.
18:28 Possibly there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
18:29 Y volvió á hablarle, y dijo: Quizá se hallarán allí cuarenta. Y respondió: No lo haré por amor de los cuarenta.
18:29 And he spoke unto him yet again, and said, Possibly there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.
18:30 Y dijo: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare: quizá se hallarán allí treinta. Y respondió: No lo haré si hallare allí treinta.
18:30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Possibly there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
18:31 Y dijo: He aquí ahora que he emprendido el hablar á mi Señor: quizá se hallarán allí veinte. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los veinte.
18:31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD: Possibly there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.
18:32 Y volvió á decir: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare solamente una vez: quizá se hallarán allí diez. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los diez.
18:32 And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Possibly ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
18:33 Y fuése Jehová, luego que acabó de hablar á Abraham: y Abraham se volvió á su lugar.
18:33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

19:1 LLEGARON, pues, los dos ángeles á Sodoma á la caída de la tarde: y Lot estaba sentado á la puerta de Sodoma. Y viéndolos Lot, levantóse á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia el suelo;
19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
19:2 Y dijo: Ahora, pues, mis señores, os ruego que vengáis á casa de vuestro siervo y os hospedéis, y lavaréis vuestros pies: y por la mañana os levantaréis, y seguiréis vuestro camino. Y ellos respondieron: No, que en la plaza nos quedaremos esta noche.
19:2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and all of you shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
19:3 Mas él porfió con ellos mucho, y se vinieron con él, y entraron en su casa; é hízoles banquete, y coció panes sin levadura y comieron.
19:3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
19:4 Y antes que se acostasen, cercaron la casa los hombres de la ciudad, los varones de Sodoma, todo el pueblo junto, desde el más joven hasta el más viejo;
19:4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
19:5 Y llamaron á Lot, y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron á ti esta noche? sácanoslos, para que los conozcamos.
19:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to you this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
19:6 Entonces Lot salió á ellos á la puerta, y cerró las puertas tras sí,
19:6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
19:7 Y dijo: Os ruego, hermanos míos, que no hagáis tal maldad.
19:7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
19:8 He aquí ahora yo tengo dos hijas que no han conocido varón; os las sacaré afuera, y haced de ellas como bien os pareciere: solamente á estos varones no hagáis nada, pues que vinieron á la sombra de mi tejado.
19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do all of you to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
19:9 Y ellos respondieron: Quita allá: y añadieron: Vino éste aquí para habitar como un extraño, ¿y habrá de erigirse en juez? Ahora te haremos más mal que á ellos. Y hacían gran violencia al varón, á Lot, y se acercaron para romper las puertas.
19:9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will essentially be a judge: now will we deal worse with you, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
19:10 Entonces los varones alargaron la mano, y metieron á Lot en casa con ellos, y cerraron las puertas.
19:10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
19:11 Y á los hombres que estaban á la puerta de la casa desde el menor hasta el mayor, hirieron con ceguera; mas ellos se fatigaban por hallar la puerta.
19:11 And they stroke the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
19:12 Y dijeron los varones á Lot: ¿Tienes aquí alguno más? Yernos, y tus hijos y tus hijas, y todo lo que tienes en la ciudad, sácalo de este lugar:
19:12 And the men said unto Lot, Have you here any besides? son in law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whatsoever you have in the city, bring them out of this place:
19:13 Porque vamos á destruir este lugar, por cuanto el clamor de ellos ha subido de punto delante de Jehová; por tanto Jehová nos ha enviado para destruirlo.
19:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is becoming great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.
19:14 Entonces salió Lot, y habló á sus yernos, los que habían de tomar sus hijas, y les dijo: Levantaos, salid de este lugar; porque Jehová va á destruir esta ciudad. Mas pareció á sus yernos como que se burlaba.
19:14 And Lot went out, and spoke unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
19:15 Y al rayar el alba, los ángeles daban prisa á Lot, diciendo: Levántate, toma tu mujer, y tus dos hijas que se hallan aquí, porque no perezcas en el castigo de la ciudad.
19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters, which are here; lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
19:16 Y deteniéndose él, los varones asieron de su mano, y de la mano de su mujer, y de las manos de sus dos hijas según la misericordia de Jehová para con él; y le sacaron, y le pusieron fuera de la ciudad.
19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
19:17 Y fué que cuando los hubo sacado fuera, dijo: Escapa por tu vida; no mires tras ti, ni pares en toda esta llanura; escapa al monte, no sea que perezcas.
19:17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for your life; look not behind you, neither stay you in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.
19:18 Y Lot les dijo: No, yo os ruego, señores míos;
19:18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD:
19:19 He aquí ahora ha hallado tu siervo gracia en tus ojos, y has engrandecido tu misericordia que has hecho conmigo dándome la vida; mas yo no podré escapar al monte, no sea caso que me alcance el mal y muera.
19:19 Behold now, your servant has found grace in your sight, and you have magnified your mercy, which you have showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
19:20 He aquí ahora esta ciudad está cerca para huir allá, la cual es pequeña; escaparé ahora allá, (¿no es ella pequeña?) y vivirá mi alma.
19:20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
19:21 Y le respondió: He aquí he recibido también tu súplica sobre esto, y no destruiré la ciudad de que has hablado.
19:21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which you have spoken.
19:22 Date priesa, escápate allá; porque nada podré hacer hasta que allí hayas llegado. Por esto fué llamado el nombre de la ciudad, Zoar.
19:22 Haste you, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till you be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
19:23 El sol salía sobre la tierra, cuando Lot llegó á Zoar.
19:23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
19:24 Entonces llovió Jehová sobre Sodoma y sobre Gomorra azufre y fuego de parte de Jehová desde los cielos;
19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
19:25 Y destruyó las ciudades, y toda aquella llanura, con todos los moradores de aquellas ciudades, y el fruto de la tierra.
19:25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
19:26 Entonces la mujer de Lot miró atrás, á espaldas de él, y se volvió estatua de sal.
19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
19:27 Y subió Abraham por la mañana al lugar donde había estado delante de Jehová:
19:27 And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
19:28 Y miró hacia Sodoma y Gomorra, y hacia toda la tierra de aquella llanura miró; y he aquí que el humo subía de la tierra como el humo de un horno.
19:28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
19:29 Así fué que, cuando destruyó Dios las ciudades de la llanura, acordóse Dios de Abraham, y envió fuera á Lot de en medio de la destrucción, al asolar las ciudades donde Lot estaba.
19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
19:30 Empero Lot subió de Zoar, y asentó en el monte, y sus dos hijas con él; porque tuvo miedo de quedar en Zoar, y se alojó en una cueva él y sus dos hijas.
19:30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
19:31 Entonces la mayor dijo á la menor: Nuestro padre es viejo, y no queda varón en la tierra que entre á nosotras conforme á la costumbre de toda la tierra:
19:31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
19:32 Ven, demos á beber vino á nuestro padre, y durmamos con él, y conservaremos de nuestro padre generación.
19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
19:33 Y dieron á beber vino á su padre aquella noche: y entró la mayor, y durmió con su padre; mas él no sintió cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.
19:33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
19:34 El día siguiente dijo la mayor á la menor: He aquí yo dormí la noche pasada con mi padre; démosle á beber vino también esta noche, y entra y duerme con él, para que conservemos de nuestro padre generación.
19:34 And it came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay last night with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go you in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
19:35 Y dieron á beber vino á su padre también aquella noche: y levantóse la menor, y durmió con él; pero no echó de ver cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.
19:35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
19:36 Y concibieron las dos hijas de Lot, de su padre.
19:36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
19:37 Y parió la mayor un hijo, y llamó su nombre Moab, el cual es padre de los Moabitas hasta hoy.
19:37 And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
19:38 La menor también parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Ben-ammí, el cual es padre de los Ammonitas hasta hoy.
19:38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

20:1 DE allí partió Abraham á la tierra del Mediodía, y asentó entre Cades y Shur, y habitó como forastero en Gerar.
20:1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.
20:2 Y dijo Abraham de Sara su mujer: Mi hermana es. Y Abimelech, rey de Gerar, envió y tomó á Sara.
20:2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
20:3 Empero Dios vino á Abimelech en sueños de noche, y le dijo: He aquí muerto eres á causa de la mujer que has tomado, la cual es casada con marido.
20:3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, for the woman which you have taken; for she is a man's wife.
20:4 Mas Abimelech no había llegado á ella, y dijo: Señor, ¿matarás también la gente justa?
20:4 But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, LORD, will you slay also a righteous nation?
20:5 ¿No me dijo él: Mi hermana es; y ella también dijo: Es mi hermano? Con sencillez de mi corazón, y con limpieza de mis manos he hecho esto.
20:5 Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands have I done this.
20:6 Y díjole Dios en sueños: Yo también sé que con integridad de tu corazón has hecho esto; y yo también te detuve de pecar contra mí, y así no te permití que la tocases.
20:6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart; for I also withheld you from sinning against me: therefore suffered I you not to touch her.
20:7 Ahora, pues, vuelve la mujer á su marido; porque es profeta, y orará por ti, y vivirás. Y si tú no la volvieres, sabe que de cierto morirás, con todo lo que fuere tuyo.
20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live: and if you restore her not, know you that you shall surely die, you, and all that are yours.
20:8 Entonces Abimelech se levantó de mañana, y llamó á todos sus siervos, y dijo todas estas palabras en los oídos de ellos; y temieron los hombres en gran manera.
20:8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.
20:9 Después llamó Abimelech á Abraham y le dijo: ¿Qué nos has hecho? ¿y en qué pequé yo contra ti, que has atraído sobre mí y sobre mi reino tan gran pecado? lo que no debiste hacer has hecho conmigo.
20:9 Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What have you done unto us? and what have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? you have done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
20:10 Y dijo más Abimelech á Abraham: ¿Qué viste para que hicieses esto?
20:10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What saw you, that you have done this thing?
20:11 Y Abraham respondió: Porque dije para mí: Cierto no hay temor de Dios en este Lugar, y me matarán por causa de mi mujer.
20:11 And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.
20:12 Y á la verdad también es mi hermana, hija de mi padre, mas no hija de mi madre, y toméla por mujer.
20:12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
20:13 Y fue que, cuando Dios me hizo salir errante de la casa de mi padre, yo le dije: Esta es la merced que tú me harás, que en todos los lugares donde llegáremos, digas de mí: Mi hermano es.
20:13 And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is your kindness which you shall show unto me; at every place where we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
20:14 Entonces Abimelech tomó ovejas y vacas, y siervos y siervas, y diólo á Abraham, y devolvióle á Sara su mujer.
20:14 And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and male servants, and female servants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
20:15 Y dijo Abimelech: He aquí mi tierra está delante de ti, habita donde bien te pareciere.
20:15 And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before you: dwell where it pleases you.
20:16 Y á Sara dijo: He aquí he dado mil monedas de plata á tu hermano; mira que él te es por velo de ojos para todos los que están contigo, y para con todos: así fué reprendida.
20:16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to you a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with you, and with all other: thus she was reproved.
20:17 Entonces Abraham oró á Dios; y Dios sanó á Abimelech y á su mujer, y á sus siervas, y parieron.
20:17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
20:18 Porque había del todo cerrado Jehová toda matriz de la casa de Abimelech, á causa de Sara mujer de Abraham.
20:18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.

21:1 Y VISITO Jehová á Sara, como había dicho, é hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado.
21:1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
21:2 Y concibió y parió Sara á Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios le había dicho.
21:2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
21:3 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo que le nació, que le parió Sara, Isaac.
21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
21:4 Y circuncidó Abraham á su hijo Isaac de ocho días, como Dios le había mandado.
21:4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
21:5 Y era Abraham de cien años, cuando le nació Isaac su hijo.
21:5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
21:6 Entonces dijo Sara: Dios me ha hecho reir, y cualquiera que lo oyere, se reirá conmigo.
21:6 And Sarah said, God has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
21:7 Y añadió: ¿Quién dijera á Abraham que Sara había de dar de mamar á hijos? pues que le he parido un hijo á su vejez.
21:7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
21:8 Y creció el niño, y fué destetado; é hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fué destetado Isaac.
21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
21:9 Y vió Sara al hijo de Agar la Egipcia, el cual había ésta parido á Abraham, que se burlaba.
21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
21:10 Por tanto dijo á Abraham: Echa á esta sierva y á su hijo; que el hijo de esta sierva no ha de heredar con mi hijo, con Isaac.
21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
21:11 Este dicho pareció grave en gran manera á Abraham á causa de su hijo.
21:11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
21:12 Entonces dijo Dios á Abraham: No te parezca grave á causa del muchacho y de tu sierva; en todo lo que te dijere Sara, oye su voz, porque en Isaac te será llamada descendencia.
21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your bondwoman; in all that Sarah has said unto you, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall your seed be called.
21:13 Y también al hijo de la sierva pondré en gente, porque es tu simiente.
21:13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is your seed.
21:14 Entonces Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un odre de agua, y diólo á Agar, poniéndolo sobre su hombro, y entrególe el muchacho, y despidióla. Y ella partió, y andaba errante por el desierto de Beer-seba.
21:14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
21:15 Y faltó el agua del odre, y echó al muchacho debajo de un árbol;
21:15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
21:16 Y fuése y sentóse enfrente, alejándose como un tiro de arco; porque decía: No veré cuando el muchacho morirá: y sentóse enfrente, y alzó su voz y lloró.
21:16 And she went, and sat her down opposite to him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat opposite to him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
21:17 Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho; y el ángel de Dios llamó á Agar desde el cielo, y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, Agar? No temas; porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.
21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What disturbs you, Hagar? fear not; for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.
21:18 Levántate, alza al muchacho, y ásele de tu mano, porque en gran gente lo tengo de poner.
21:18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in yours hand; for I will make him a great nation.
21:19 Entonces abrió Dios sus ojos, y vió una fuente de agua; y fué, y llenó el odre de agua, y dió de beber al muchacho.
21:19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
21:20 Y fué Dios con el muchacho; y creció, y habitó en el desierto, y fué tirador de arco.
21:20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21:21 Y habitó en el desierto de Parán; y su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
21:21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
21:22 Y aconteció en aquel mismo tiempo que habló Abimelech, y Phicol, príncipe de su ejército, á Abraham diciendo: Dios es contigo en todo cuanto haces.
21:22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spoke unto Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you do:
21:23 Ahora pues, júrame aquí por Dios, que no faltarás á mí, ni á mi hijo, ni á mi nieto; sino que conforme á la bondad que yo hice contigo, harás tú conmigo y con la tierra donde has peregrinado.
21:23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto you, you shall do unto me, and to the land wherein you have sojourned.
21:24 Y respondió Abraham: Yo juraré.
21:24 And Abraham said, I will swear.
21:25 Y Abraham reconvino á Abimelech á causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelech le habían quitado.
21:25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
21:26 Y respondió Abimelech: No sé quién haya hecho esto, ni tampoco tú me lo hiciste saber, ni yo lo he oído hasta hoy.
21:26 And Abimelech said, I know not who has done this thing; neither did you tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
21:27 Y tomó Abraham ovejas y vacas, y dió á Abimelech; é hicieron ambos alianza.
21:27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
21:28 Y puso Abraham siete corderas del rebaño aparte.
21:28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
21:29 Y dijo Abimelech á Abraham: ¿Qué significan esas siete corderas que has puesto aparte?
21:29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves?
21:30 Y él respondió: Que estas siete corderas tomarás de mi mano, para que me sean en testimonio de que yo cavé este pozo.
21:30 And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shall you take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have dug this well.
21:31 Por esto llamó á aquel lugar Beer-seba; porque allí juraron ambos.
21:31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they swore both of them.
21:32 Así hicieron alianza en Beer-seba: y levantóse Abimelech y Phicol, príncipe de su ejército, y se volvieron á tierra de los Filisteos.
21:32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
21:33 Y plantó Abraham un bosque en Beer-seba, é invocó allí el nombre de Jehová Dios eterno.
21:33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
21:34 Y moró Abraham en tierra de los Filisteos muchos días.
21:34 And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.

22:1 Y ACONTECIO después de estas cosas, que tentó Dios á Abraham, y le dijo: Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.
22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
22:2 Y dijo: Toma ahora tu hijo, tu único, Isaac, á quien amas, y vete á tierra de Moriah, y ofrécelo allí en holocausto sobre uno de los montes que yo te diré.
22:2 And he said, Take now your son, yours only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.
22:3 Y Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y enalbardó su asno, y tomó consigo dos mozos suyos, y á Isaac su hijo: y cortó leña para el holocausto, y levantóse, y fué al lugar que Dios le dijo.
22:3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
22:4 Al tercer día alzó Abraham sus ojos, y vió el lugar de lejos.
22:4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.
22:5 Entonces dijo Abraham á sus mozos: Esperaos aquí con el asno, y yo y el muchacho iremos hasta allí, y adoraremos, y volveremos á vosotros.
22:5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide all of you here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
22:6 Y tomó Abraham la leña del holocausto, y púsola sobre Isaac su hijo: y él tomó en su mano el fuego y el cuchillo; y fueron ambos juntos.
22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
22:7 Entonces habló Isaac á Abraham su padre, y dijo: Padre mío. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, mi hijo. Y él dijo: He aquí el fuego y la leña; mas ¿dónde está el cordero para el holocausto?
22:7 And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
22:8 Y respondió Abraham: Dios se proveerá de cordero para el holocausto, hijo mío. E iban juntos.
22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
22:9 Y como llegaron al lugar que Dios le había dicho, edificó allí Abraham un altar, y compuso la leña, y ató á Isaac su hijo, y púsole en el altar sobre la leña.
22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
22:10 Y extendió Abraham su mano, y tomó el cuchillo, para degollar á su hijo.
22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
22:11 Entonces el ángel de Jehová le dió voces del cielo, y dijo: Abraham, Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.
22:11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
22:12 Y dijo: No extiendas tu mano sobre el muchacho, ni le hagas nada; que ya conozco que temes á Dios, pues que no me rehusaste tu hijo, tu único;
22:12 And he said, Lay not yours hand upon the lad, neither do you any thing unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, yours only son from me.
22:13 Entonces alzó Abraham sus ojos, y miró, y he aquí un carnero á sus espaldas trabado en un zarzal por sus cuernos: y fué Abraham, y tomó el carnero, y ofrecióle en holocausto en lugar de su hijo.
22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the position of his son.
22:14 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de aquel lugar, Jehová proveerá. Por tanto se dice hoy: En el monte de Jehová será provisto.
22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
22:15 Y llamó el ángel de Jehová á Abraham segunda vez desde el cielo,
22:15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
22:16 Y dijo: Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Jehová, que por cuanto has hecho esto, y no me has rehusado tu hijo, tu único;
22:16 And said, By myself have I sworn, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, yours only son:
22:17 Bendiciendo te bendeciré, y multiplicando multiplicaré tu simiente como las estrellas del cielo, y como la arena que está á la orilla del mar; y tu simiente poseerá las puertas de sus enemigos:
22:17 That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
22:18 En tu simiente serán benditas todas las gentes de la tierra, por cuanto obedeciste á mi voz.
22:18 And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.
22:19 Y tornóse Abraham á sus mozos, y levantáronse y se fueron juntos á Beer-seba; y habitó Abraham en Beer-seba.
22:19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
22:20 Y aconteció después de estas cosas, que fué dada nueva á Abraham, diciendo: He aquí que también Milca ha parido hijos á Nachôr tu hermano:
22:20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children unto your brother Nahor;
22:21 A Huz su primogénito, y á Buz su hermano, y á Kemuel padre de Aram.
22:21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22:22 Y á Chêsed, y á Hazo, y á Pildas, y á Jidlaph, y á Bethuel.
22:22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
22:23 Y Bethuel engendró á Rebeca. Estos ocho parió Milca á Nachôr, hermano de Abraham.
22:23 And Bethuel brings forth Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
22:24 Y su concubina, que se llamaba Reúma, parió también á Teba, y á Gaham, y á Taas, y á Maachâ.
22:24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

23:1 Y FUÉ la vida de Sara ciento veintisiete años: tantos fueron los años de la vida de Sara.
23:1 And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.
23:2 Y murió Sara en Kiriath-arba, que es Hebrón, en la tierra de Canaán: y vino Abraham á hacer el duelo á Sara y á llorarla.
23:2 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
23:3 Y levantóse Abraham de delante de su muerto, y habló á los hijos de Heth, diciendo:
23:3 And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke unto the sons of Heth, saying,
23:4 Peregrino y advenedizo soy entre vosotros; dadme heredad de sepultura con vosotros, y sepultaré mi muerto de delante de mí.
23:4 I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
23:5 Y respondieron los hijos de Heth á Abraham, y dijéronle:
23:5 And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,
23:6 Oyenos, señor mío, eres un príncipe de Dios entre nosotros; en lo mejor de nuestras sepulturas sepulta á tu muerto; ninguno de nosotros te impedirá su sepultura, para que entierres tu muerto.
23:6 Hear us, my lord: you are a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchers bury your dead; none of us shall withhold from you his tomb, but that you may bury your dead.
23:7 Y Abraham se levantó, é inclinóse al pueblo de aquella tierra, á los hijos de Heth;
23:7 And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
23:8 Y habló con ellos, diciendo: Si tenéis voluntad que yo sepulte mi muerto de delante de mí, oidme, é interceded por mí con Ephrón, hijo de Zohar,
23:8 And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and implore for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
23:9 Para que me dé la cueva de Macpela, que tiene al cabo de su heredad: que por su justo precio me la dé, para posesión de sepultura en medio de vosotros.
23:9 That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he has, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace among you.
23:10 Este Ephrón hallábase entre los hijos de Heth: y respondió Ephrón Hetheo á Abraham, en oídos de los hijos de Heth, de todos los que entraban por la puerta de su ciudad, diciendo:
23:10 And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,
23:11 No, señor mío, óyeme: te doy la heredad, y te doy también la cueva que está en ella; delante de los hijos de mi pueblo te la doy; sepulta tu muerto.
23:11 Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I you, and the cave that is therein, I give it you; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it you: bury your dead.
23:12 Y Abraham se inclinó delante del pueblo de la tierra.
23:12 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.
23:13 Y respondió á Ephrón en oídos del pueblo de la tierra, diciendo: Antes, si te place, ruégote que me oigas; yo daré el precio de la heredad, tómalo de mí, y sepultaré en ella mi muerto.
23:13 And he spoke unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if you will give it, I pray you, hear me: I will give you money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
23:14 Y respondió Ephrón á Abraham, diciéndole:
23:14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,
23:15 Señor mío, escúchame: la tierra vale cuatrocientos siclos de plata: ¿qué es esto entre mí y ti? entierra pues tu muerto.
23:15 My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that between me and you? bury therefore your dead.
23:16 Entonces Abraham se convino con Ephrón, y pesó Abraham á Ephrón el dinero que dijo, oyéndolo los hijos de Heth, cuatrocientos siclos de plata, de buena ley entre mercaderes.
23:16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
23:17 Y quedó la heredad de Ephrón que estaba en Macpela enfrente de Mamre, la heredad y la cueva que estaba en ella, y todos los árboles que había en la heredad, y en todo su término al derredor,
23:17 And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure
23:18 Por de Abraham en posesión, á vista de los hijos de Heth, y de todos los que entraban por la puerta de la ciudad.
23:18 Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.
23:19 Y después de esto sepultó Abraham á Sara su mujer en la cueva de la heredad de Macpela enfrente de Mamre, que es Hebrón en la tierra de Canaán.
23:19 And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.
23:20 Y quedó la heredad y la cueva que en ella había, por de Abraham, en posesión de sepultura adquirida de los hijos de Heth.
23:20 And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.

24:1 Y ABRAHAM era viejo, y bien entrado en días; y Jehová había bendecido á Abraham en todo.
24:1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
24:2 Y dijo Abraham á un criado suyo, el más viejo de su casa, que era el que gobernaba en todo lo que tenía: Pon ahora tu mano debajo de mi muslo,
24:2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh:
24:3 Y te juramentaré por Jehová, Dios de los cielos y Dios de la tierra, que no has de tomar mujer para mi hijo de las hijas de los Cananeos, entre los cuales yo habito;
24:3 And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
24:4 Sino que irás á mi tierra y á mi parentela, y tomarás mujer para mi hijo Isaac.
24:4 But you shall go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.
24:5 Y el criado le respondió: Quizá la mujer no querrá venir en pos de mí á esta tierra: ¿volveré, pues, tu hijo á la tierra de donde saliste?
24:5 And the servant said unto him, Possibly the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I essentially bring your son again unto the land from whence you came?
24:6 Y Abraham le dijo: Guárdate que no vuelvas á mi hijo allá.
24:6 And Abraham said unto him, Beware you that you bring not my son thither again.
24:7 Jehová, Dios de los cielos, que me tomó de la casa de mi padre y de la tierra de mi parentela, y me habló y me juró, diciendo: A tu simiente daré esta tierra; él enviará su ángel delante de ti, y tú tomarás de allá mujer para mi hijo.
24:7 The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke unto me, and that swore unto me, saying, Unto your seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife unto my son from thence.
24:8 Y si la mujer no quisiere venir en pos de ti, serás libre de este mi juramento; solamente que no vuelvas allá á mi hijo.
24:8 And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.
24:9 Entonces el criado puso su mano debajo del muslo de Abraham su señor, y juróle sobre este negocio.
24:9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning that matter.
24:10 Y el criado tomó diez camellos de los camellos de su señor, y fuése, pues tenía á su disposición todos los bienes de su señor: y puesto en camino, llegó á Mesopotamia, á la ciudad de Nachôr.
24:10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
24:11 E hizo arrodillar los camellos fuera de la ciudad, junto á un pozo de agua, á la hora de la tarde, á la hora en que salen las mozas por agua.
24:11 And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
24:12 Y dijo: Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, dame, te ruego, el tener hoy buen encuentro, y haz misericordia con mi señor Abraham.
24:12 And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray you, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.
24:13 He aquí yo estoy junto á la fuente de agua, y las hijas de los varones de esta ciudad salen por agua:
24:13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
24:14 Sea, pues, que la moza á quien yo dijere: Baja tu cántaro, te ruego, para que yo beba; y ella respondiere: Bebe, y también daré de beber á tus camellos: que sea ésta la que tú has destinado para tu siervo Isaac; y en esto conoceré que habrás hecho misericordia con mi señor.
24:14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down your pitcher, I pray you, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: let the same be she that you have appointed for your servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that you have showed kindness unto my master.
24:15 Y aconteció que antes que él acabase de hablar, he aquí Rebeca, que había nacido á Bethuel, hijo de Milca, mujer de Nachôr hermano de Abraham, la cual salía con su cántaro sobre su hombro.
24:15 And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
24:16 Y la moza era de muy hermoso aspecto, virgen, á la que varón no había conocido; la cual descendió á la fuente, y llenó su cántaro, y se volvía.
24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
24:17 Entonces el criado corrió hacia ella, y dijo: Ruégote que me des á beber un poco de agua de tu cántaro.
24:17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray you, drink a little water of your pitcher.
24:18 Y ella respondió: Bebe, señor mío: y dióse prisa á bajar su cántaro sobre su mano, y le dió á beber.
24:18 And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
24:19 Y cuando acabó de darle á beber, dijo: También para tus camellos sacaré agua, hasta que acaben de beber.
24:19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for your camels also, until they have done drinking.
24:20 Y dióse prisa, y vació su cántaro en la pila, y corrió otra vez al pozo para sacar agua, y sacó para todos sus camellos.
24:20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the gutter, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
24:21 Y el hombre estaba maravillado de ella, callando, para saber si Jehová había prosperado ó no su viaje.
24:21 And the man wondering at her held his peace, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
24:22 Y fué que como los camellos acabaron de beber, presentóle el hombre un pendiente de oro que pesaba medio siclo, y dos brazaletes que pesaban diez:
24:22 And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
24:23 Y dijo: ¿De quién eres hija? Ruégote me digas, ¿hay lugar en casa de tu padre donde posemos?
24:23 And said, Whose daughter are you? tell me, I pray you: is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?
24:24 Y ella respondió: Soy hija de Bethuel, hijo de Milca, el cual parió ella á Nachôr.
24:24 And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
24:25 Y añadió: También hay en nuestra casa paja y mucho forraje, y lugar para posar.
24:25 She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and animal food enough, and room to lodge in.
24:26 El hombre entonces se inclinó, y adoró á Jehová.
24:26 And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
24:27 Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová, Dios de mi amo Abraham, que no apartó su misericordia y su verdad de mi amo, guiándome Jehová en el camino á casa de los hermanos de mi amo.
24:27 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who has not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
24:28 Y la moza corrió, é hizo saber en casa de su madre estas cosas.
24:28 And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.
24:29 Y Rebeca tenía un hermano que se llamaba Labán, el cual corrió afuera al hombre, á la fuente;
24:29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.
24:30 Y fué que como vió el pendiente y los brazaletes en las manos de su hermana, que decía, Así me habló aquel hombre; vino á él: y he aquí que estaba junto á los camellos á la fuente.
24:30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spoke the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
24:31 Y díjole: Ven, bendito de Jehová; ¿por qué estás fuera? yo he limpiado la casa, y el lugar para los camellos.
24:31 And he said, Come in, you blessed of the LORD; wherefore stand you without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
24:32 Entonces el hombre vino á casa, y Labán desató los camellos; y dióles paja y forraje, y agua para lavar los piés de él, y los piés de los hombres que con él venían.
24:32 And the man came into the house: and he unbounded his camels, and gave straw and animal food for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
24:33 Y pusiéronle delante qué comer; mas él dijo: No comeré hasta que haya dicho mi mensaje. Y él le dijo: Habla.
24:33 And there was set food before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
24:34 Entonces dijo: Yo soy criado de Abraham;
24:34 And he said, I am Abraham's servant.
24:35 Y Jehová ha bendecido mucho á mi amo, y él se ha engrandecido: y le ha dado ovejas y vacas, plata y oro, siervos y siervas, camellos y asnos.
24:35 And the LORD has blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and male servants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
24:36 Y Sara, mujer de mi amo, parió en su vejez un hijo á mi señor, quien le ha dado todo cuanto tiene.
24:36 And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him has he given all that he has.
24:37 Y mi amo me hizo jurar, diciendo: No tomarás mujer para mi hijo de las hijas de los Cananeos, en cuya tierra habito;
24:37 And my master made me swear, saying, You shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
24:38 Sino que irás á la casa de mi padre, y á mi parentela, y tomarás mujer para mi hijo.
24:38 But you shall go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.
24:39 Y yo dije: Quizás la mujer no querrá seguirme.
24:39 And I said unto my master, Possibly the woman will not follow me.
24:40 Entonces él me respondió: Jehová, en cuya presencia he andado, enviará su ángel contigo, y prosperará tu camino; y tomarás mujer para mi hijo de mi linaje y de la casa de mi padre:
24:40 And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
24:41 Entonces serás libre de mi juramento, cuando hubieres llegado á mi linaje; y si no te la dieren, serás libre de mi juramento.
24:41 Then shall you be clear from this my oath, when you come to my kindred; and if they give not you one, you shall be clear from my oath.
24:42 Llegué, pues, hoy á la fuente, y dije: Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, si tú prosperas ahora mi camino por el cual ando;
24:42 And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go:
24:43 He aquí yo estoy junto á la fuente de agua; sea, pues, que la doncella que saliere por agua, á la cual dijere: Dame á beber, te ruego, un poco de agua de tu cántaro;
24:43 Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin comes forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray you, a little water of your pitcher to drink;
24:44 Y ella me respondiere, Bebe tú, y también para tus camellos sacaré agua: ésta sea la mujer que destinó Jehová para el hijo de mi señor.
24:44 And she say to me, Both drink you, and I will also draw for your camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD has appointed out for my master's son.
24:45 Y antes que acabase de hablar en mi corazón, he aquí Rebeca, que salía con su cántaro sobre su hombro; y descendió á la fuente, y sacó agua; y le dije: Ruégote que me des á beber.
24:45 And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray you.
24:46 Y prestamente bajó su cántaro de encima de sí, y dijo: Bebe, y también á tus camellos daré á beber. Y bebí, y dió también de beber á mis camellos.
24:46 And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.
24:47 Entonces preguntéle, y dije: ¿De quién eres hija? Y ella respondió: Hija de Bethuel, hijo de Nachôr, que le parió Milca. Entonces púsele un pendiente sobre su nariz, y brazaletes sobre sus manos:
24:47 And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.
24:48 E inclinéme, y adoré á Jehová, y bendije á Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, que me había guiado por camino de verdad para tomar la hija del hermano de mi señor para su hijo.
24:48 And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.
24:49 Ahora pues, si vosotros hacéis misericordia y verdad con mi señor, declarádmelo; y si no, declarádmelo; y echaré á la diestra ó á la siniestra.
24:49 And now if all of you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
24:50 Entonces Labán y Bethuel respondieron y dijeron: De Jehová ha salido esto; no podemos hablarte malo ni bueno.
24:50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from the LORD: we cannot speak unto you bad or good.
24:51 He ahí Rebeca delante de ti; tómala y vete, y sea mujer del hijo de tu señor, como lo ha dicho Jehová.
24:51 Behold, Rebekah is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the LORD has spoken.
24:52 Y fué, que como el criado de Abraham oyó sus palabras, inclinóse á tierra á Jehová.
24:52 And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.
24:53 Y sacó el criado vasos de plata y vasos de oro y vestidos, y dió á Rebeca: también dió cosas preciosas á su hermano y á su madre.
24:53 And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
24:54 Y comieron y bebieron él y los varones que venían con él, y durmieron; y levantándose de mañana, dijo: Enviadme á mi señor.
24:54 And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.
24:55 Entonces respondió su hermano y su madre: Espere la moza con nosotros á lo menos diez días, y después irá.
24:55 And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
24:56 Y él les dijo: No me detengáis, pues que Jehová ha prosperado mi camino; despachadme para que me vaya á mi señor.
24:56 And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD has prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.
24:57 Ellos respondieron entonces: Llamemos la moza y preguntémosle.
24:57 And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.
24:58 Y llamaron á Rebeca, y dijéronle: ¿Irás tú con este varón? Y ella respondió: Sí, iré.
24:58 And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Will you go with this man? And she said, I will go.
24:59 Entonces dejaron ir á Rebeca su hermana, y á su nodriza, y al criado de Abraham y á sus hombres.
24:59 And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.
24:60 Y bendijeron á Rebeca, y dijéronle: Nuestra hermana eres; seas en millares de millares, y tu generación posea la puerta de sus enemigos.
24:60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, You are our sister, be you the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
24:61 Levantóse entonces Rebeca y sus mozas, y subieron sobre los camellos, y siguieron al hombre; y el criado tomó á Rebeca, y fuése.
24:61 And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.
24:62 Y venía Isaac del pozo del Viviente que me ve; porque él habitaba en la tierra del Mediodía;
24:62 And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.
24:63 Y había salido Isaac á orar al campo, á la hora de la tarde; y alzando sus ojos miró, y he aquí los camellos que venían.
24:63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the evening: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
24:64 Rebeca también alzó sus ojos, y vió á Isaac, y descendió del camello;
24:64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.
24:65 Porque había preguntado al criado: ¿Quién es este varón que viene por el campo hacia nosotros? Y el siervo había respondido: Este es mi señor. Ella entonces tomó el velo, y cubrióse.
24:65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walks in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.
24:66 Entonces el criado contó á Isaac todo lo que había hecho.
24:66 And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
24:67 E introdújola Isaac á la tienda de su madre Sara, y tomó á Rebeca por mujer; y amóla: y consolóse Isaac después de la muerte de su madre.
24:67 And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

25:1 Y ABRAHAM tomó otra mujer, cuyo nombre fué Cetura;
25:1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
25:2 La cual le parió á Zimram, y á Joksan, y á Medan, y á Midiam, y á Ishbak, y á Sua.
25:2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
25:3 Y Joksan engendró á Seba, y á Dedán: é hijos de Dedán fueron Assurim, y Letusim, y Leummim.
25:3 And Jokshan brings forth Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
25:4 E hijos de Midiam: Epha, y Epher, y Enech, y Abida, y Eldaa. Todos estos fueron hijos de Cetura.
25:4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
25:5 Y Abraham dió todo cuanto tenía á Isaac.
25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
25:6 Y á los hijos de sus concubinas dió Abraham dones, y enviólos de junto Isaac su hijo, mientras él vivía, hacia el oriente, á la tierra oriental.
25:6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
25:7 Y estos fueron los días de vida que vivió Abraham: ciento setenta y cinco años.
25:7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
25:8 Y exhaló el espíritu, y murió Abraham en buena vejez, anciano y lleno de días y fué unido á su pueblo.
25:8 Then Abraham gave up the spirit, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
25:9 Y sepultáronlo Isaac é Ismael sus hijos en la cueva de Macpela, en la heredad de Ephrón, hijo de Zoar Hetheo, que está enfrente de Mamre;
25:9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
25:10 Heredad que compró Abraham de los hijos de Heth; allí fué Abraham sepultado, y Sara su mujer.
25:10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
25:11 Y sucedió, después de muerto Abraham, que Dios bendijo á Isaac su hijo: y habitó Isaac junto al pozo del Viviente que me ve.
25:11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.
25:12 Y estas son las generaciones de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, que le parió Agar Egipcia, sierva de Sara:
25:12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
25:13 Estos, pues, son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael, por sus nombres, por sus linajes: El primogénito de Ismael, Nabaioth; luego Cedar, y Abdeel, y Mibsam,
25:13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
25:14 Y Misma, y Duma, y Massa,
25:14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
25:15 Hadad, y Tema, y Jetur, y Naphis, y Cedema.
25:15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
25:16 Estos son los hijos de Ismael, y estos sus nombres por sus villas y por sus campamentos; doce príncipes por sus familias.
25:16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
25:17 Y estos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael, ciento treinta y siete años: y exhaló el espíritu Ismael, y murió; y fué unido á su pueblo.
25:17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the spirit and died; and was gathered unto his people.
25:18 Y habitaron desde Havila hasta Shur, que está enfrente de Egipto viniendo á Asiria; y murió en presencia de todos sus hermanos.
25:18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
25:19 Y estas son las generaciones de Isaac, hijo de Abraham. Abraham engendró á Isaac:
25:19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham brings forth Isaac:
25:20 Y era Isaac de cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer á Rebeca, hija de Bethuel Arameo de Padan-aram, hermana de Labán Arameo.
25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
25:21 Y oró Isaac á Jehová por su mujer, que era estéril; y aceptólo Jehová, y concibió Rebeca su mujer.
25:21 And Isaac implored the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was implored of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
25:22 Y los hijos se combatían dentro de ella; y dijo: Si es así ¿para qué vivo yo? Y fue á consultar á Jehová.
25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
25:23 Y respondióle Jehová: Dos gentes hay en tu seno, Y dos pueblos serán divididos desde tus entrañas: Y el un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro pueblo, Y el mayor servirá al menor.
25:23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in your womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from your bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
25:24 Y como se cumplieron sus días para parir, he aquí mellizos en su vientre.
25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25:25 Y salió el primero rubio, y todo él velludo como una pelliza; y llamaron su nombre Esaú.
25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
25:26 Y después salió su hermano, trabada su mano al calcañar de Esaú: y fué llamado su nombre Jacob. Y era Isaac de edad de sesenta años cuando ella los parió.
25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
25:27 Y crecieron los niños, y Esaú fué diestro en la caza, hombre del campo: Jacob empero era varón quieto, que habitaba en tiendas.
25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
25:28 Y amó Isaac á Esaú, porque comía de su caza; mas Rebeca amaba á Jacob.
25:28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
25:29 Y guisó Jacob un potaje; y volviendo Esaú del campo cansado,
25:29 And Jacob cook pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
25:30 Dijo á Jacob: Ruégote que me des á comer de eso bermejo, pues estoy muy cansado. Por tanto fué llamado su nombre Edom.
25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray you, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
25:31 Y Jacob respondió: Véndeme en este día tu primogenitura.
25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day your birthright.
25:32 Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí yo me voy á morir; ¿para qué, pues, me servirá la primogenitura?
25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
25:33 Y dijo Jacob: Júrame lo en este día. Y él le juró, y vendió á Jacob su primogenitura.
25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
25:34 Entonces Jacob dió á Esaú pan y del guisado de las lentejas; y él comió y bebió, y levantóse, y fuése. Así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.
25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

26:1 Y HUBO hambre en la tierra, además de la primera hambre que fué en los días de Abraham: y fuése Isaac á Abimelech rey de los Filisteos, en Gerar.
26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
26:2 Y apareciósele Jehová, y díjole: No desciendas á Egipto: habita en la tierra que yo te diré;
26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell you of:
26:3 Habita en esta tierra, y seré contigo, y te bendeciré; porque á ti y á tu simiente daré todas estas tierras, y confirmaré el juramento que juré á Abraham tu padre:
26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham your father;
26:4 Y multiplicaré tu simiente como las estrellas del cielo, y daré á tu simiente todas estas tierras; y todas las gentes de la tierra serán benditas en tu simiente.
26:4 And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
26:5 Por cuanto oyó Abraham mi voz, y guardó mi precepto, mis mandamientos, mis estatutos y mis leyes.
26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
26:6 Habitó, pues, Isaac en Gerar.
26:6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
26:7 Y los hombres de aquel lugar le preguntaron acerca de su mujer; y él respondió: Es mi hermana; porque tuvo miedo de decir: Es mi mujer; que tal vez, dijo, los hombres del lugar me matarían por causa de Rebeca; porque era de hermoso aspecto.
26:7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.
26:8 Y sucedió que, después que él estuvo allí muchos días, Abimelech, rey de los Filisteos, mirando por una ventana, vió á Isaac que jugaba con Rebeca su mujer.
26:8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.
26:9 Y llamó Abimelech á Isaac, y dijo: He aquí ella es de cierto tu mujer: ¿cómo, pues, dijiste: Es mi hermana? E Isaac le respondió: Porque dije: Quizá moriré por causa de ella.
26:9 And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, certainly she is your wife; and how said you, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.
26:10 Y Abimelech dijo: ¿Por qué nos has hecho esto? Por poco hubiera dormido alguno del pueblo con tu mujer, y hubieras traído sobre nosotros el pecado.
26:10 And Abimelech said, What is this you have done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with your wife, and you should have brought guiltiness upon us.
26:11 Entonces Abimelech mandó á todo el pueblo, diciendo: El que tocare á este hombre ó á su mujer, de cierto morirá.
26:11 And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.
26:12 Y sembró Isaac en aquella tierra, y halló aquel año ciento por uno: y bendíjole Jehová.
26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
26:13 Y el varón se engrandeció, y fué adelantando y engrandeciéndose, hasta hacerse muy poderoso:
26:13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
26:14 Y tuvo hato de ovejas, y hato de vacas, y grande apero; y los Filisteos le tuvieron envidia.
26:14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
26:15 Y todos los pozos que habían abierto, los criados de Abraham su padre en sus días, los Filisteos los habían cegado y llenado de tierra.
26:15 For all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.
26:16 Y dijo Abimelech á Isaac: Apártate de nosotros, porque mucho más poderoso que nosotros te has hecho.
26:16 And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for you are much mightier than we.
26:17 E Isaac se fué de allí; y asentó sus tiendas en el valle de Gerar, y habitó allí.
26:17 And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
26:18 Y volvió á abrir Isaac los pozos de agua que habían abierto en los días de Abraham su padre, y que los Filisteos habían cegado, muerto Abraham; y llamólos por los nombres que su padre los había llamado.
26:18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.
26:19 Y los siervos de Isaac cavaron en el valle, y hallaron allí un pozo de aguas vivas.
26:19 And Isaac's servants dug in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.
26:20 Y los pastores de Gerar riñeron con los pastores de Isaac, diciendo: El agua es nuestra: por eso llamó el nombre del pozo Esek, porque habían altercado con él.
26:20 And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.
26:21 Y abrieron otro pozo, y también riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Sitnah.
26:21 And they dug another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.
26:22 Y apartóse de allí, y abrió otro pozo, y no riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Rehoboth, y dijo: Porque ahora nos ha hecho ensanchar Jehová y fructificaremos en la tierra.
26:22 And he removed from thence, and dug another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
26:23 Y de allí subió á Beer-seba.
26:23 And he went up from thence to Beersheba.
26:24 Y apareciósele Jehová aquella noche, y dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham tu padre: no temas, que yo soy contigo, y yo te bendeciré, y multiplicaré tu simiente por amor de Abraham mi siervo.
26:24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham your father: fear not, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your seed for my servant Abraham's sake.
26:25 Y edificó allí un altar, é invocó el nombre de Jehová, y tendió allí su tienda: y abrieron allí los siervos de Isaac un pozo.
26:25 And he built an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants dug a well.
26:26 Y Abimelech vino á él desde Gerar, y Ahuzzath, amigo suyo, y Phicol, capitán de su ejército.
26:26 Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.
26:27 Y díjoles Isaac: ¿Por qué venís á mí, pues que me habéis aborrecido, y me echasteis de entre vosotros?
26:27 And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come all of you to me, seeing all of you hate me, and have sent me away from you?
26:28 Y ellos respondieron: Hemos visto que Jehová es contigo; y dijimos: Haya ahora juramento entre nosotros, entre nosotros y ti, y haremos alianza contigo:
26:28 And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with you: and we said, Let there be now an oath between us, even between us and you, and let us make a covenant with you;
26:29 Que no nos hagas mal, como nosotros no te hemos tocado, y como solamente te hemos hecho bien, y te enviamos en paz: tú ahora, bendito de Jehová.
26:29 That you will do us no hurt, as we have not touched you, and as we have done unto you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace: you are now the blessed of the LORD.
26:30 Entonces él les hizo banquete, y comieron y bebieron.
26:30 And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.
26:31 Y se levantaron de madrugada, y juraron el uno al otro; é Isaac los despidió, y ellos se partieron de él en paz.
26:31 And they rose up early in the morning, and swore one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.
26:32 Y en aquel día sucedió que vinieron los criados de Isaac, y diéronle nuevas acerca del pozo que habían abierto, y le dijeron: Agua hemos hallado.
26:32 And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had dug, and said unto him, We have found water.
26:33 Y llamólo Seba: por cuya causa el nombre de aquella ciudad es Beer-seba hasta este día.
26:33 And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.
26:34 Y cuando Esaú fué de cuarenta años, tomó por mujer á Judith hija de Beeri Hetheo, y á Basemat hija de Elón Hetheo:
26:34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
26:35 Y fueron amargura de espíritu á Isaac y á Rebeca.
26:35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.
