Quan xet - Judges

1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

1:1 Sau khi Gioâ-sueâ qua ñôøi, daân Y-sô-ra-eân beøn caàu hoûi Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, maø raèng: Ai laø ngöôøi trong chuùng toâi phaûi ñi leân tröôùc ñaëng ñaùnh daân Ca-na-an?

1:2 And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

1:2 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaùp raèng: Aáy laø ngöôøi Giu-ña phaûi ñi leân; kìa, ta ñaõ phoù xöù vaøo tay hoï.

1:3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into your lot. So Simeon went with him.

1:3 Ngöôøi Giu-ña beøn noùi cuøng ngöôøi Si-meâ-oân, laø anh em mình, raèng: Haõy ñi leân cuøng toâi trong xöù ñaõ baét thaêm veà toâi, thì chuùng ta seõ ñaùnh daân Ca-na-an; roài toâi cuõng seõ ñi cuøng anh em ñeán xöù ñaõ baét thaêm veà anh em. Ngöôøi Si-meâ-oân beøn ñi vôùi hoï.

1:4 And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.

1:4 Vaäy, ngöôøi Giu-ña ñi leân, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phoù daân Ca-na-an vaø daân Pheâ-reâ-sít vaøo tay hoï; taïi Beâ-xeùc hoï ñaùnh gieát moät vaïn ngöôøi.

1:5 And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

1:5 ÔÛ Beâ-xeùc cuõng coù gaëp A-ñoâ-ni-Beâ-xeùc, beøn xoâng vaøo ngöôøi, ñaùnh baïi daân Ca-na-an vaø daân Pheâ-reâ-sít.

1:6 But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.

1:6 A-ñoâ-ni-Beâ-xeùc chaïy troán, nhöng chuùng ñuoåi theo, baét ñöôïc ngöôøi, chaët ngoùn caùi cuûa tay vaø chôn.

1:7 And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

1:7 Baáy giôø A-ñoâ-ni-Beâ-xeùc noùi raèng: Coù baûy möôi vua bò chaët ngoùn caùi cuûa tay vaø chôn, löôïm vaät chi rôùt döôùi baøn ta. Ñieàu ta ñaõ laøm, Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi laïi baùo öùng ta. Ngöôøi ta daãn vua ñeán Gieâ-ru-sa-lem, vaø ngöôøi cheát taïi ñoù.

1:8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

1:8 Ngöôøi Giu-ña haõm ñaùnh thaønh Gieâ-ru-sa-lem vaø chieám laáy, duøng löôõi göôm gieát daân cö, vaø phoùng hoûa thaønh.

1:9 And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.

1:9 Keá aáy, ngöôøi Giu-ña ñi xuoáng ñaëng ñaùnh daân Ca-na-an ôû treân nuùi, mieàn nam, vaø ñoàng baèng;

1:10 And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.

1:10 laïi ñi ñaùnh daân Ca-na-an ôû taïi Heáp-roân (teân Heáp-roân thuôû xöa laø Ki-ri-aùt -A-ra-ba), vaø ñaùnh Seâ-sai, A-hi-man, cuøng Tanh-mai.

1:11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher:

1:11 Töø ñoù, ngöôøi Giu-ña ñi ñaùnh daân cö cuûa Ñeâ-bia (teân Ñeâ-bia thuôû xöa laø Ki-ri-aùt-Seâ-pheâ).

1:12 And Caleb said, He that strikes Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

1:12 Ca-leùp beøn noùi: Ai haõm ñaùnh Ki-ri-aùt-Seâ-phe, vaø chieám laáy noù, thì ta seõ gaû con gaùi ta laø Aïc-sa cho ngöôøi aáy laøm vôï.

1:13 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

1:13 Baáy giôø, Oát-ni-eân, con trai Keâ-na, em thöù Ca-leùp, chieám laáy thaønh ñoù, neân Ca-leùp gaû con gaùi mình laø Aïc-sa cho ngöôøi laøm vôï.

1:14 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What will you?

1:14 Khi naøng ñaõ ñeán nhaø Oát-ni-eân, naøng giuïc ngöôøi xin cha mình moät mieáng ruoäng. Naøng xuoáng khoûi löøa, thì Ca-leùp hoûi raèng: Con muoán chi?

1:15 And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

1:15 Naøng thöa raèng: Xin cha cho con moät cuûa phöôùc. Vì cha ñaõ ñònh cho con ôû ñaát mieàn nam, xin haõy cho con nhöõng nguoàn nöôùc! Ca-leùp beøn ban cho naøng caùc nguoàn treân vaø caùc nguoàn döôùi.

1:16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lies in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

1:16 Vaû, con chaùu cuûa Keâ-nít, laø anh em beân vôï cuûa Moâi-se, töø thaønh Caây Chaø laø ñi leân vôùi con chaùu Giu-ña, ñeán trong ñoàng vaéng Giu-ña, ôû veà phía nam A-raùt, vaø laäp choã ôû taïi giöõa daân söï.

1:17 And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.

1:17 Keá aáy, ngöôøi Giu-ña ñi cuøng anh em mình, laø ngöôøi Si-meâ-oân, ñaùnh daân Ca-na-an oû taïi Xeâ-phaùt, taän dieät nôi aáy, roài goïi teân noù laø Hoït-ma.

1:18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.

1:18 Ngöôøi Giu-ña cuõng chieám laáy Ga-xa cuøng ñòa phaän noù, Aùch-ca-loân cuøng ñòa phaän noù, vaø Eùc-roân cuøng ñòa phaän noù.

1:19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

1:19 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ôû cuøng ngöôøi Giu-ña; ngöôøi Giu-ña haõm laáy nuùi, coøn daân söï ôû truõng, thì hoï ñuoåi ñi khoâng ñaëng, vì chuùng noù coù nhöõng xe baèng saét.

1:20 And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.

1:20 Keá sau, theo lònh cuûa Moâi-se, ngöôøi ta ban Heáp-roân cho Ca-leùp! Ca-leùp beøn ñuoåi ba con trai cuûa A-naùc khoûi thaønh aáy.

1:21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.

1:21 Nhöng con chaùu Beân-gia-min khoâng ñuoåi ñöôïc daân Gieâ-bu-sít ôû taïi Gieâ-ru-sa-lem, neân daân Gieâ-bu-sít haõy coøn ôû chung cuøng con chaùu Beân-gia-min cho ñeán ngaøy nay.

1:22 And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with them.

1:22 Coøn nhaø Gioâ-seùp cuõng leân ñaùnh Beâ-teân, vaø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ôû cuøng hoï.

1:23 And the house of Joseph sent to search out Bethel. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.)

1:23 Vaäy, nhaø Gioâ-seùp sai do thaùm Beâ-teân; teân thaønh naày luùc tröôùc laø Lu-xô.

1:24 And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Show us, we pray you, the entrance into the city, and we will show you mercy.

1:24 Nhöõng keû do thaùm thaáy moät ngöôøi ôû thaønh ñi ra, beøn noùi cuøng ngöôøi raèng; Xin chæ cho chuùng ta ngoõ naøo ñi vaøo thaønh ñöôïc, thì chuùng ta seõ laøm ôn cho ngöôi.

1:25 And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they stroke the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.

1:25 Ngöôøi beøn chæ cho hoï ngoõ ngöôøi ta ñi vaøo thaønh ñöôïc; chuùng beøn laáy göôm ñaùnh gieát thaønh; nhöng ñeå cho ngöôøi ñoù vaø caû nhaø ngöôøi ñi.

1:26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day.

1:26 Ñoaïn, ngöôøi aáy ñi vaøo xöù daân Heâ-tít, xaây moät caùi thaønh taïi ñoù, vaø ñaët teân laø Lu-xô, haõy coøn goïi vaäy cho ñeán ngaøy nay.

1:27 Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

1:27 Ngöôøi Ma-na-se khoâng ñuoåi ñöôïc daân cö cuûa Beát-Seâ-an vaø cuûa caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, cuõng chaúng ñuoåi daân cö cuûa Tha -a-naùc vaø cuûa caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, hoaëc daân ôû Ñoâ-rô vaø daân ôû caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, hoaëc daân ôû Gíp-leâ-am vaø daân ôû trong caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, hoaëc daân ôû Meâ-ghi-ñoâ vaø daân ôû caùc thaønh ñòa haït noù, thì cuõng chaúng ñuoåi ñi, vì daân Ca-na-an quyeát ñònh ôû trong xöù aáy.

1:28 And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.

1:28 Xaûy khi Y-sô-ra-eân trôû neân cöôøng thaïnh, thì baét daân Ca-na-an phuïc dòch; nhöng khoâng coù ñuoåi chuùng noù ñi heát.

1:29 Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.

1:29 Ngöôøi Eùp-ra-im cuõng chaúng ñuoåi daân Ca-na-an ôû taïi Gheâ-xe; nhöng daân Ca-na-an cöù ôû cuøng hoï taïi Gheâ-xe.

1:30 Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.

1:30 Ngöôøi Sa-bu-loân cuõng chaúng ñuoåi daân Kít-roân, hoaëc daân ôû Na-ha-loâ; vaø ngöôøi Ca-na-an ôû chung cuøng ngöôøi Sa-bu-loân, song phaûi phuïc dòch hoï.

1:31 Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:

1:32 Ngöôøi A-se laäp saûn nghieäp ôû giöõa daân Ca-na-an, laø daân boån xöù; vì ngöôøi A-se khoâng ñuoåi chuùng noù ñi.

1:33 Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Bethshemesh, nor the inhabitants of Bethanath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Bethshemesh and of Bethanath became tributaries unto them.

1:33 Ngöôøi Neùp-ta-li khoâng ñuoåi daân ôû Beát-Seâ-meát vaø Beát -A-naùt; nhöng laäp saûn nghieäp ôû giöõa daân Ca-na-an, laø daân boån xöù; coøn daân Beát-Seâ-meát vaø daân Beát -A-naùt phaûi phuïc dòch ngöôøi Neùp-ta-li.

1:35 But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries.

 Quan xet - Judges

2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

2:1 Vaû, thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñi leân töø Ghinh-ganh ñeán Boâ-kim, vaø noùi raèng: Ta ñaõ ñem caùc ngöôi ñi leân khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, daãn vaøo xöù ta ñaõ theà ban cho toå phuï caùc ngöôi. Ta ñaõ phaùn: Ta seõ chaúng heà huûy giao öôùc ta ñaõ laäp cuøng caùc ngöôi;

2:2 And all of you shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; all of you shall throw down their altars: but all of you have not obeyed my voice: why have all of you done this?

2:2 coøn caùc ngöôi, chôù laäp giao öôùc cuøng daân xöù naày; haõy phaù huûy baøn thôø cuûa chuùng noù. Song caùc ngöôi khoâng coù vaâng theo lôøi phaùn cuûa ta. Taïi sao caùc ngöôi ñaõ laøm ñieàu ñoù?

2:3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

2:3 Ta cuõng coù phaùn: Ta seõ chaúng ñuoåi daân aáy khoûi tröôùc maët caùc ngöôi, song chuùng noù seõ ôû beân caùc ngöôi, vaø caùc thaàn chuùng noù seõ thaønh moät caùi baãy cho caùc ngöôi.

2:4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.

2:4 Thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va vöøa noùi döùt lôøi naày cho caû daân Y-sô-ra-eân, thì caû daân söï beøn caát tieáng leân khoùc.

2:5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the LORD.

2:5 Chuùng goïi teân choã ñoù laø Boâ-kim, vaø daâng teá leã cho Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va taïi ñoù.

2:6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.

2:6 Khi Gioâ-sueâ ñaõ cho daân söï veà, thì moïi ngöôøi Y-sô-ra-eân, ai naáy ñeàu ñi vaøo saûn nghieäp mình, ñaëng nhaän laáy xöù.

2:7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.

2:7 Daân söï phuïc söï Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va trong troïn ñôøi Gioâ-sueâ vaø troïn ñôøi caùc tröôûng laõo coøn soáng laâu hôn Gioâ-sueâ, laø nhöõng keû ñaõ thaáy caùc coâng vieäc lôùn lao maø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ laøm ra vì Y-sô-ra-eân.

2:8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

2:8 Ñoaïn, Gioâ-sueâ, con trai cuûa Nun, toâi tôù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, qua ñôøi, tuoåi ñöôïc moät traêm möôøi;

2:9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.

2:9 ngöôøi ta choân ngöôøi trong ñòa phaän veà saûn nghieäp ngöôøi, taïi Thim-naùt-Heâ-re treân nuùi Eùp-ra-im, veà phía baéc nuùi Ga-aùch.

2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

2:10 Heát thaûy ngöôøi ñôøi aáy cuõng ñöôïc tieáp veà toå phuï mình; roài moät ñôøi khaùc noåi leân, chaúng bieát Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, cuõng chaúng bieát caùc ñieàu Ngaøi ñaõ laøm nhôn vì Y-sô-ra-eân.

2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:

2:11 Baáy giôø daân Y-sô-ra-eân laøm aùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, haàu vieäc caùc thaàn töôïng cuûa Ba-anh,

2:12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.

2:12 boû Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa toå phuï mình, laø Ñaáng ñaõ ñem hoï ra khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ; hoï tin theo caùc thaàn khaùc cuûa nhöõng daân toäc xung quanh, quì laïy caùc thaàn ñoù vaø choïc giaän Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

2:13 Vaäy, chuùng noù boû Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, haàu vieäc Ba-anh vaø Aùt-taït-teâ.

2:14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

2:14 Côn thaïnh noä cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va noåi phöøng leân cuøng Y-sô-ra-eân, Ngaøi phoù chuùng vaøo tay cuûa keû cöôùp boùc, vaø chuùng noù boùc loät hoï; Ngaøi baùn Y-sô-ra-eân cho caùc keû thuø nghòch chung quanh, vaø Y-sô-ra-eân khoâng coøn theá choáng cöï noåi ñöôïc tröôùc keû thuø nghòch mình.

2:15 Anywhere they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.

2:15 Baát luaän chuùng ñi ñeán ñaâu, tay cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va vaãn nghòch cuøng chuùng ñaëng giaùng hoïa cho, y nhö Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn vaø ñaõ theà cuøng chuùng. Chuùng bò côn hoaïn naïn lôùn lao thay.

2:16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.

2:16 Song Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va daáy leân nhöõng quan xeùt giaûi cöùu chuùng khoûi tay keû cöôùp boùc.

2:17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.

2:17 Nhöng chuùng cuõng khoâng nghe caùc quan xeùt vì chuùng haønh daâm cuøng caùc thaàn khaùc, vaø quì laïy tröôùc maët caùc thaàn aáy. Chuùng voäi xaây boû con ñöôøng maø toå phuï mình ñaõ ñi, chaúng baét chöôùc theo toå phuï vaâng giöõ caùc ñieàu raên cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

2:18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

2:18 Vaû, khi Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va daáy leân caùc quan xeùt cho Y-sô-ra-eân, thì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ôû cuøng quan xeùt ñoù, vaø troïn ñôøi quan xeùt, Ngaøi giaûi cöùu Y-sô-ra-eân khoûi tay keû thuø nghòch mình; vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va laáy loøng thöông xoùt hoï taïi côù nhöõng tieáng reân sieác maø hoï thôû ra tröôùc maët nhöõng keû haø hieáp vaø laøm töùc toái mình.

2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

2:19 Keá sau, khi quan xeùt qua ñôøi roài, Y-sô-ra-eân laïi laøm aùc hôn caùc toå phuï mình, tin theo caùc thaàn khaùc, haàu vieäc vaø thôø laïy tröôùc maët caùc thaàn aáy: Y-sô-ra-eân khoâng khöùng chöøa boû vieäc laøm aùc hay laø loái coá chaáp cuûa hoï.

2:20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;

2:20 Bôûi côù ñoù, côn thaïnh noä cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va noåi phöøng leân cuøng Y-sô-ra-eân, vaø Ngaøi phaùn raèng: Vì daân toäc naày coù boäi nghòch giao öôùc cuûa ta ñaõ truyeàn cho toå phuï chuùng noù, vaø vì chuùng noù khoâng coù nghe lôøi phaùn ta,

2:21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:

2:21 neân veà phaàn ta, ta cuõng chaúng ñuoåi khoûi tröôùc maët chuùng noù moät daân naøo maø Gioâ-sueâ ñeå laïi khi ngöôøi qua ñôøi.

2:22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.

2:22 Ta seõ duøng caùc daân toäc ñoù thöû thaùch Y-sô-ra-eân, ñeå xem thöû chuùng noù coù giöõ vaø ñi theo ñöôøng cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, nhö toå phuï chuùng noù chaêng.

2:23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.

2:23 Aáy vaäy, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñeå cho caùc daân toäc naày ôû laïi trong xöù, khoâng voäi ñuoåi chuùng noù ñi, vaø cuõng khoâng phoù chuùng noù vaøo tay Gioâ-sueâ.

 Quan xet - Judges

3:1 Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

3:1 Naày laø caùc daân toäc maø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñeå coøn laïi, ñaëng duøng chuùng noù thöû thaùch ngöôøi Y-sô-ra-eân naøo chöa töøng thaáy nhöõng chieán traän Ca-na-an.

3:2 Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

3:2 Ngaøi chæ muoán thöû thaùch caùc doøng doõi môùi cuûa daân Y-sô-ra-eân, taäp cho chuùng noù vieäc chieán traän, nhöùt laø nhöõng keû chöa töøng thaáy chieán traän khi tröôùc.

3:3 Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

3:3 Caùc daân toäc naày laø daân Phi-li-tin cuøng naêm vua chuùng noù, heát thaûy daân Ca-na-an, daân Si-ñoân, vaø daân Heâ-vít ôû taïi nuùi Li-ban, töø nuùi Ba-anh-Heït-moân cho ñeán cöûa Ha-maùt.

3:4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

3:4 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va duøng caùc daân toäc naày ñeå thöû thaùch Y-sô-ra-eân, ñaëng xem thöû chuùng noù coù yù vaâng theo caùc ñieàu raên maø Ngaøi caäy Moâi-se truyeàn cho toå phuï chuùng noù chaêng.

3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

3:5 Nhö vaäy, daân Y-sô-ra-eân ôû chung cuøng daân Ca-na-an, daân Heâ-tít, daân A-moâ-rít, daân Pheâ-reâ-sít, daân Heâ-vít, daân Gieâ-bu-sít,

3:6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

3:6 cöôùi con gaùi cuûa chuùng noù laøm vôï, gaû con gaùi mình cho con trai chuùng noù, vaø haàu vieäc caùc thaàn chuùng noù.

3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgotten about the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

3:7 Daân Y-sô-ra-eân coøn laøm ñieàu aùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, queân Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi mình, cuùng thôø caùc hình töôïng Ba-anh vaø A-seâ-ra.

3:8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.

3:8 Vì vaäy, côn thaïnh noä cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va noåi phöøng cuøng Y-sô-ra-eân, Ngaøi phoù chuùng vaøo tay Cu-san-Ri-sa-tha-im, vua nöôùc Meâ-soâ-boâ-ta-mi. Daân Y-sô-ra-eân bò taùm naêm phuïc dòch vua Cu-san-Ri-sa-tha-im.

3:9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.

3:9 Keá aáy, daân Y-sô-ra-eân keâu la cuøng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va; Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va beøn daáy leân cho chuùng noù moät ngöôøi giaûi cöùu, laø Oát-ni-eân, con trai cuûa Keâ-na, em thöù cuûa Ca-leùp, vaø ngöôøi aáy giaûi cöùu hoï.

3:10 And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.

3:10 Thaàn cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va caûm ñoäng ngöôøi, ngöôøi ñoaùn xeùt Y-sô-ra-eân, vaø ñi ra chieán traän. Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phoù Cu-san-Ri-sa-tha-im, vua A-ram, vaøo tay ngöôøi, khieán cho ngöôøi thaéng Cu-san-Ri-sa-tha-im.

3:11 And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

3:11 Xöù ñöôïc hoøa bình trong boán möôi naêm; keá ñoù, Oát-ni-eân, con trai Keâ-na, qua ñôøi.

3:12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

3:12 Daân Y-sô-ra-eân laïi laøm ñieàu aùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va; neân Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va khieán Eùc-loân, vua Moâ-aùp trôû neân cöôøng thaïnh ñeå haõm ñaùnh Y-sô-ra-eân.

3:13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and stroke Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

3:13 Vaäy, Eùc-loân nhoùm hieäp chung quanh mình daân Am-moân vaø daân A-ma-leùc, keùo ñi ñaùnh Y-sô-ra-eân vaø chieám laáy thaønh Caây chaø laø.

3:14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.

3:14 Daân Y-sô-ra-eân bò phuïc dòch Eùc-loân, vua Moâ-aùp, trong möôøi taùm naêm.

3:15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

3:15 Ñoaïn, daân Y-sô-ra-eân keâu la cuøng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va daáy leân cho chuùng moät ñaáng giaûi cöùu, laø EÂ-huùt, con trai Gheâ-ra, thuoäc veà chi phaùi Beân-gia-min, laø ngöôøi coù taät thuaän tay taû. Daân Y-sô-ra-eân sai ngöôøi ñem leã coáng cho Eùc-loân, vua Moâ-aùp.

3:16 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

3:16 EÂ-huùt töï laøm laáy moät caây göôm hai löôõi, daøi moät thöôùc, vaø ñeo theo trong mình aùo nôi haùng höõu.

3:17 And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.

3:17 Vaäy, ngöôøi ñem daâng leã coáng cho Eùc-loân, vua Moâ-aùp, laø moät ngöôøi raát maäp.

3:18 And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

3:18 Khi daâng leã coáng roài, beøn cho nhöõng keû ñaõ ñem leã vaät ñeán ñi veà.

3:19 But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto you, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

3:19 Nhöng chaùnh ngöôøi ñeán haàm laáy ñaù ôû gaàn Ghinh-ganh, thì trôû laïi, noùi raèng: Hôõi vua, toâi coù moät lôøi taâu kín cuøng vua. Vua truyeàn: Haõy nín! Heát thaûy nhöõng keû haàu caän vua beøn ñi ra.

3:20 And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto you. And he arose out of his seat.

3:20 Baáy giôø, vua ñöông ngoài moät mình nôi laàu maùt; EÂ-huùt ñeán gaàn maø noùi raèng: Toâi coù moät lôøi cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi taâu laïi vôùi vua. Eùc-loân vöøa ñöùng daäy khoûi ngai;

3:21 And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

3:21 EÂ-huùt beøn giô tay taû ra ruùt göôm ñeo ôû phía höõu, maø ñaâm ngöôøi nôi buïng.

3:22 And the handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

3:22 Caùn göôm cuõng luùt theo löôõi, môõ líp laïi xung quanh löôõi göôm; vì ngöôøi khoâng ruùt göôm ra khoûi buïng, noù thaáu ra sau löng.

3:23 Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.

3:23 Ñoaïn, EÂ-huùt laùnh ra nôi hieân cöûa, ñoùng caùc cöûa laàu maùt laïi vaø gaøi choát.

3:24 When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covers his feet in his summer chamber.

3:24 Khi EÂ-huùt ñi ra khoûi, caùc ñaày tôù ñeán xem, thaáy caùc cöûa laàu maùt ñeàu ñoùng gaøi choát, thì noùi vôùi nhau raèng: Hoaëc vua ñi ngôi trong laàu maùt chaêng.

3:25 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

3:25 Chuùng ñôïi raát laâu, ñeán ñoãi hoå theïn; song vì khoâng thaáy vua môû cöûa phoøng, beøn laáy chìa khoùa vaø môû: kìa thaáy chuùa mình ñaõ cheát, naèm saûi treân ñaát.

3:26 And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

3:26 Trong khi chuùng trì huôûn, EÂ-huùt ñaõ troán qua khoûi caùc haàm ñaù, laùnh ñeán Seâ-ri -a.

3:27 And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

3:27 Ngöôøi vöøa ñeán, beøn thoåi keøn leân trong nuùi Eùp-ra-im; daân Y-sô-ra-eân ñeàu cuøng ngöôøi xuoáng khoûi nuùi vaø chính ngöôøi ñi ôû ñaàu heát.

3:28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

3:28 EÂ-huùt noùi cuøng chuùng raèng: Haõy theo ta, vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phoù vaøo tay caùc ngöôi daân Moâ-aùp, laø keû thuø nghòch caùc ngöôi. Chuùng ñeàu theo ngöôøi xuoáng chieám cöù caùc choã caïn soâng Gioâ-ñanh, laø ñöôøng ñi ñeán Moâ-aùp, caám khoâng cho ai ñi qua.

3:29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.

3:29 Vaäy, trong luùc ñoù daân Y-sô-ra-eân ñaùnh gieát chöøng möôøi ngaøn ngöôøi Moâ-aùp, thaûy ñeàu laø tay maïnh meõ, can ñaõm, khoâng moät ai thoaùt khoûi ñöôïc.

3:30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

3:30 Trong ngaøy ñoù, daân Moâ-aùp bò phuïc döôùi tay Y-sô-ra-eân; xöù ñöôïc hoøa bình trong taùm möôi naêm.

3:31 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.

3:31 Sau EÂ-huùt, coù Sam-ga, con trai cuûa A-naùt. Ngöôøi duøng moät caây ñoùt boø maø ñaùnh gieát saùu traêm ngöôøi Phi-li-tin, vaø cuõng giaûi cöùu Y-sô-ra-eân.

4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.

4:1 Sau khi EÂ-huùt ñaõ qua ñôøi, daân Y-sô-ra-eân laïi laøm ñieàu aùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

4:4 Trong luùc ñoù, Ñeâ-boâ-ra, laø nöõ tieân tri, vôï cuûa Laùp-bi-ñoát, ñoaùn xeùt daân Y-sô-ra-eân.

4:5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

4:5 Baø ôû treân nuùi Eùp-ra-im, giöõa khoaûng Ra-ma vaø Beâ-teân, döôùi caây chaø laø Ñeâ-boâ-ra, vaø daân Y-sô-ra-eân leân ñeán cuøng ngöôøi, ñaëng nghe söï xeùt ñoaùn.

4:6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

4:6 Baø sai goïi Ba-raùc, con trai A-bi-noâ-am, töø Keâ-ñe trong ñaát Neùp-ta-li, maø noùi cuøng ngöôøi raèng: Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa Y-sô-ra-eân ñaõ truyeàn lònh naày: Haõy choïn ñem theo ngöôi moät vaïn ngöôøi trong con chaùu Neùp-ta-li vaø trong con chaùu Sa-bu-loân, maø ñi thaúng ñeán nuùi Tha-boâ.

4:7 And I will draw unto you to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into yours hand.

4:7 Ta seõ khieán Si-seâ-ra, laø thoáng laõnh ñaïo binh vua Gia-bin, ñeán cuøng ngöôøi taïi khe Ki-soân, luoân vôùi caùc xe coä vaø caû quaân lính cuûa haén; ta seõ phoù haén vaøo tay ngöôi.

4:8 And Barak said unto her, If you will go with me, then I will go: but if you will not go with me, then I will not go.

4:8 Ba-raùc ñaùp raèng: Neáu baø ñi vôùi toâi, thì toâi seõ ñi; nhöng neáu baø khoâng ñi vôùi toâi, toâi seõ khoâng ñi.

4:9 And she said, I will surely go with you: notwithstanding the journey that you take shall not be for yours honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

4:9 Baø beøn ñaùp: ÖØ, phaûi, ta seõ ñi vôùi ngöôi, song söï vinh hieån cuûa vieäc naày seõ chaúng veà ngöôi; vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va seõ phoù Si-seâ-ra vaøo tay moät ngöôøi nöõ. Vaäy, Ñeâ-boâ-ra ñöùng daäy, ñi cuøng Ba-raùc ñeán Keâ-ñe.

4:10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

4:10 Ba-raùc nhoùm hieäp ngöôøi Sa-bu-loân vaø ngöôøi Neùp-ta-li taïi Keâ-ñe, coù moät muoân ngöôøi ñi theo sau ngöôøi, vaø Ñeâ-boâ-ra cuõng ñi leân vôùi ngöôøi.

4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

4:11 Vaû, Heâ-be, ngöôøi Keâ-nít, ñaõ lìa khoûi daân Keâ-nít, laø con chaùu Hoâ-baùp, anh em vôï cuûa Moâi-se, vaø ñi döïng traïi mình ôû veà caây deû boäp Sa-na-im, gaàn beân Keâ-ñe.

4:12 And they showed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

4:12 Ngöôøi ta thuaät cho Si-seâ-ra hay raèng Ba-raùc, con trai cuûa A-bi-noâ-am, ñaõ ñi ñeán nuùi Tha-boâ.

4:13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

4:13 Si-seâ-ra beøn nhoùm hieäp heát thaûy xe coä saét mình laø chín traêm caùi baèng saét, vaø toaøn quaân binh vaãn ôû vôùi mình, töø Ha-roâ-seát veà daân ngoaïi bang cho ñeán khe Ki-soân.

4:14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into yours hand: is not the LORD gone out before you? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

4:15 And the LORD humiliated Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

4:15 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va duøng muõi göôm laøm cho Si-seâ-ra vaø heát thaûy xe coä cuøng toaøn quaân lính ngöôøi vôõ chaïy tröôùc maët Ba-raùc; Si-seâ-ra beøn xuoáng xe mình, chaïy boä maø troán.

4:16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

4:16 Ba-raùc ñuoåi theo xe coä vaø ñaïo binh cho ñeán Ha-roâ-seát veà daân ngoaïi bang; caû ñaïo binh Si-seâ-ra bò göôm gieát, khoâng coøn laïi moät ngöôøi.

4:17 Nevertheless Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

4:17 Si-seâ-ra chaïy boä troán ñeán traïi Gia-eân, vôï cuûa Heâ-be, ngöôøi Keâ-nít; vì Gia-bin, vua Haùt-so, vaø nhaø Heâ-be, ngöôøi Keâ-nít, hoøa haûo vôùi nhau.

4:18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

4:20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man does come and enquire of you, and say, Is there any man here? that you shall say, No.

4:20 Ngöôøi laïi noùi cuøng naøng raèng: Haõy ñöùng nôi cöûa traïi, neáu coù ai ñeán hoûi raèng: ÔÛ ñaây coù ai chaêng? thì haõy ñaùp: Chaúng coù ai heát.

4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and stroke the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

4:21 Baáy giôø ngöôøi nguû say, vì meät nhoïc quaù; Gia-eân, vôï Heâ-be, beøn laáy moät caây noïc traïi, vaø tay naém caùi buùa, nheï nheï ñeán beân ngöôi, laáy caùi noïc ñoùng thuûng maøng tang ngöôøi, thaáu xuoáng ñaát, vaø ngöôøi heát ñi.

4:22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

4:22 Ba-raùc ñöông coøn röôït theo Si-seâ-ra, Gia-eân beøn ra ñoùn ngöôøi, maø noùi raèng: Haõy ñeán, toâi seõ chæ cho oâng thaáy ngöôøi maø oâng ñöông tìm kieám. Ba-raùc vaøo nhaø naøng, thaáy Si-seâ-ra naèm cheát saûi, coù noïc ñaâm nôi maøng tang.

4:23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

4:23 Trong ngaøy ñoù, Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi khieán cho Gia-bin, vua Ca-na-an, bò phuïc tröôùc maët daân Y-sô-ra-eân.

4:24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

4:24 Tay daân Y-sô-ra-eân caøng ngaøy caøng maïnh thaéng Gia-bin, vua Ca-na-an, cho ñeán chöøng chuùng ñaõ dieät ngöôøi ñi.

 Quan xet - Judges

6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

6:1 Daân Y-sô-ra-eân laøm ñieàu aùc tröôùc maët Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, neân Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phoù chuùng vaøo tay daân Ma-ñi-an trong baûy naêm.

6:2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

6:2 Tay cuûa ngöôøi Ma-ñi-an thaéng hôn Y-sô-ra-eân. Vì sôï ngöôøi Ma-ñi-an, neân daân Y-sô-ra-eân laøm cho mình nhöõng nôi aån naùu trong nuùi, trong caùc haàm vaø ñoàn.

6:3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

6:3 Khi Y-sô-ra-eân ñaõ gieo gioáng, daân Ma-ñi-an vôùi daân A-meâ-leùc, vaø ngöôøi phöông Ñoâng ñi leân ñaùnh Y-sô-ra-eân,

6:4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till you come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

6:4 ñoùng traïi ñoái ngang ngöôøi, phaù haïi muøa maøng cuûa xöù cho ñeán Ga-xa, vaø khoâng ñeå laïi trong Y-sô-ra-eân löông thöïc gì, hoaëc chieân, boø hay laø löøa.

6:5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.

6:5 Vì chuùng noù ñi leân ñem theo baày suùc vaät vaø traïi mình, loaùn ñeán khaùc naøo moät ñaùm caøo caøo. Ngöôøi vaø laïc ñaø voâ soá ñeán trong xöù ñaëng phaù haïi.

6:6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

6:6 Vaäy, vì côù daân Ma-ñi-an, Y-sô-ra-eân bò ngheøo khoå baån chaät, neân hoï keâu caàu cuøng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va.

6:7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,

6:7 Baáy giôø, vì daân Y-sô-ra-eân ñaõ keâu caàu Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va veà vieäc daân Ma-ñi-an,

6:8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

6:8 neân Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va sai moät ñaáng tieân tri ñeán cuøng daân Y-sô-ra-eân. Ngöôøi noùi cuøng chuùng raèng: Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi cuûa Y-sô-ra-eân phaùn nhö vaày: Ta ñaõ ñem caùc ngöôi leân khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ, ruùt caùc ngöôi khoûi nhaø noâ leä,

6:9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land;

6:9 giaûi cöùu caùc ngöôi khoûi tay ngöôøi EÂ-díp-toâ, vaø khoûi tay heát thaûy keû haø hieáp caùc ngöôi, vaø ñuoåi chuùng noù khoûi tröôùc maët caùc ngöôi; ta ñaõ ban cho caùc ngöôi xöù cuûa chuùng noù,

6:10 And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land all of you dwell: but all of you have not obeyed my voice.

6:10 vaø coù phaùn raèng: Ta laø Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi caùc ngöôi, chôù sôï caùc thaàn cuûa daân A-moâ-rít taïi trong xöù maø caùc ngöôi ôû. Nhöng caùc ngöôi naøo coù nghe tieáng ta!

6:11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

6:11 Ñoaïn, thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñeán ngoài döôùi caây thoâng Oùp-ra thuoäc veà Gioâ-aùch, ngöôøi A-bi-eâ-xeâ-rít. Gheâ-ñeâ-oân, con trai ngöôøi, ñöông ñaäp luùa maïch trong baøn eùp, ñaëng giaáu khoûi daân Ma-ñi-an.

6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valour.

6:12 Thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va hieän ñeán cuøng ngöôøi maø raèng: Hôõi ngöôøi doõng só! Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ôû cuøng ngöôøi.

6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

6:13 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân thöa raèng: Oâi! Chuùa, neáu Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ôû cuøng chuùng toâi, sao caùc ñieàu naày xaûy ñeán cho chuùng toâi? Caùc pheùp laï kia ôû ñaâu maø toå phuï chuùng toâi ñaõ thuaät laïi raèng: Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va haù chaúng coù ñem chuùng ta ra khoûi xöù EÂ-díp-toâ sao? Vì baây giôø Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va töø boû chuùng toâi, vaø phoù chuùng toâi vaøo tay daân Ma-ñi-an.

6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent you?

6:14 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va xaây laïi cuøng ngöôøi maø phaùn raèng: Haõy duøng söùc cuûa ngöôi vaãn coù maø ñi giaûi cöùu Y-sô-ra-eân khoûi tay daân Ma-ñi-an. Ta haù chaúng sai ngöôi ñi sao?

6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

6:15 Ngöôøi thöa raèng: Than oâi! hôõi Chuùa, toâi seõ laáy chi giaûi cöùu Y-sô-ra-eân? Kìa, trong chi phaùi Ma-na-se, hoï toâi voán ngheøo hôn heát; coøn toâi laø nhoû hôn heát trong nhaø cha toâi.

6:16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.

6:16 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn raèng: Ta seõ ôû cuøng ngöôi, vaø ngöôi seõ ñaùnh baïi daân Ma-ñi-an nhö ñaùnh moät ngöôøi vaäy.

6:17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in your sight, then show me a sign that you talk with me.

6:17 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân thöa laïi raèng: Neáu toâi ñöôïc ôn tröôùc maët Chuùa, xin ban cho toâi moät daáu raèng chính Chuùa phaùn cuøng toâi.

6:18 Depart not behind, I pray you, until I come unto you, and bring forth my present, and set it before you. And he said, I will tarry until you come again.

6:19 And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.

6:19 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân beøn ñi voâ, doïn saün moät con deâ con, laáy moät eâ-pha boät laøm nhöõng baùnh nhoû khoâng men. Ngöôøi ñeå thòt trong roå, ñoå nöôùc thòt vaøo noài, roài ñem ra daâng caùc moùn aáy cho Ngaøi ôû döôùi caây thoâng.

6:20 And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.

6:20 Thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi phaùn raèng: Haõy laáy thòt vaø baùnh nhoû khoâng men, ñeå treân hoøn ñaù naày, roài ñoå nöôùc thòt ra. Gheâ-ñeâ-oân beøn laøm nhö vaäy.

6:21 Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.

6:21 Baáy giôø, thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va giô ñaàu gaäy Ngaøi ñöông caàm nôi tay mình ra, ñuïng ñeán thòt vaø baùnh nhoû khoâng men. Löûa töø hoøn ñaù boác leân, thieâu hoùa thòt vaø baùnh nhoû khoâng men; ñoaïn, thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va bieán ñi khoûi maét ngöôøi.

6:22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O LORD God! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.

6:22 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân thaáy raèng aáy laø thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, beøn la raèng: Oâi, Chuùa Gieâ-hoâ-va! khoán naïn cho toâi, vì toâi thaáy ñoái dieän thieân söù cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va!

6:23 And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto you; fear not: you shall not die.

6:23 Nhöng Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng ngöôøi raèng: Khaù yeân loøng, chôù sôï chi, ngöôi seõ khoâng cheát ñaâu.

6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

6:24 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân beøn laäp taïi ñoù moät caùi baøn thôø cho Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va, vaø ñaët teân laø Gieâ-hoâ-va-Sa-lam. Taïi Oùp-ra, thaønh cuûa ngöôøi A-bi-eâ-xeâ-rít, caùi baøn thôø aáy vaãn coøn ñeán ngaøy nay.

6:25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take your father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the grove that is by it:

6:25 Trong cuõng moät ñeâm aáy, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Haõy baét con boø ñöïc tô cuûa cha ngöôi, vaø moät con boø ñöïc thöù nhì baûy tuoåi, roài phaù dôõ baøn thôø thaàn Ba-anh taïi nhaø cha ngöôi, vaø ñaùnh haï hình töôïng A-seâ-ra ôû treân ñoù.

6:26 And build an altar unto the LORD your God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which you shall cut down.

6:26 Ñoaïn, taïi nôi choùt hoøn ñaù naày, ngöôi seõ laäp moät baøn thôø cho Gieâ-hoâ-va Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ngöôi, vaø saép ñaët moïi vieäc; roài haõy baét con boø ñöïc thöù nhì, daâng laøm cuûa leã thieâu vôùi goã hình töôïng A-seâ-ra maø ngöôi ñaõ ñaùnh haï.

6:27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.

6:27 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân choïn laáy möôøi ngöôøi trong boïn ñaày tôù mình, vaø laøm theo ñieàu Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phaùn daën; vaø vì ngöôøi sôï nhaø cha mình cuøng keû trong thaønh, neân khoâng daùm laøm theo lònh aáy ban ngaøy, beøn laøm ban ñeâm.

6:28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.

6:28 Sôùm mai, khi daân trong thaønh thöùc giaác, thaáy baøn thôø cuûa thaàn Ba-anh ñaõ bò phaù dôõ, hình töôïng A-seâ-ra ôû treân bò ñaùnh haï, vaø con boø ñöïc thöù nhì ñaõ daâng laøm cuûa leã thieâu treân baøn thôø môùi laäp ñoù.

6:29 And they said one to another, Who has done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.

6:29 Chuùng hoûi nhau raèng: Ai laøm ñieàu ñoù? Ñoaïn, hoûi thaêm vaø tra xeùt. Coù ngöôøi noùi cuøng chuùng raèng: Aáy laø Gheâ-ñeâ-oân, con trai Gioâ-aùch, ñaõ laøm ñieàu ñoù.

6:30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out your son, that he may die: because he has cast down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the grove that was by it.

6:30 Daân trong thaønh beøn noùi cuøng Gioâ-aùch raèng: Haõy bieåu con ngöôi ra, noù phaûi cheát, vì noù ñaõ phaù dôõ baøn thôø thaàn Ba-anh, vaø ñaùnh haï hình töôïng A-seâ-ra ôû treân.

6:31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will all of you plead for Baal? will all of you save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one has cast down his altar.

6:31 Gioâ-aùch ñaùp vôùi nhöõng keû daáy nghòch cuøng mình raèng: Caùc ngöôi haù coù yù binh vöïc Ba-anh sao? Haù coù phaûi caùc ngöôi muoán tieáp cöùu noù ö? Ai theo phe cuûa Ba-anh seõ bò xöû töû keå töø saùng nay. Neáu haén laø chuùa, thì chính haén haõy tranh luaän laáy chôù, bôûi vì ngöôøi ta ñaõ phaù dôõ baøn thôø cuûa haén.

6:32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he has thrown down his altar.

6:32 Vaäy, trong ngaøy ñoù ngöôøi ta goïi Gheâ-ñeâ-oân laø Gieâ-ru-ba-anh maø raèng: Ba-anh phaûi tranh luaän cuøng ngöôøi, vì Gheâ-ñeâ-oân coù phaù dôõ baøn thôø cuûa haén!

6:33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.

 Quan xet - Judges

7:1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

7:1 Qua ngaøy sau, Gieâ-ru-ba-anh, töùc laø Gheâ-ñeâ-oân, vaø caû daân söï ñoàng theo ngöôøi ñeàu daäy sôùm, ñi ñeán ñoùng traïi gaàn beân suoái Ha-roát. Dinh cuûa Ma-ñi-an ôû phía baéc veà loái noång Moâ-reâ, trong truõng.

7:2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand has saved me.

7:2 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Ñaïo binh ñi theo ngöôi laáy laøm ñoâng quaù, ta chaúng phoù daân Ma-ñi-an vaøo tay noù ñaâu, e Y-sô-ra-eân ñoái cuøng ta töï khoe maø raèng: Tay toâi ñaõ cöùu toâi.

7:3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

7:3 Vaäy baây giôø, haõy truyeàn lònh naày cho baù taùnh nghe: Ai laø ngöôøi sôï haõi run raåy, khaù trôû veà khoûi nuùi Ga-la-aùt! Hai vaïn hai ngaøn ngöôøi beøn trôû veà, coøn moät vaïn ngöôøi ôû laïi.

7:4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whomsoever I say unto you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go.

7:4 Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Daân haõy coøn ñoâng quaù, phaûi bieåu chuùng xuoáng nôi meù nöôùc, roài ta seõ vì ngöôi thöû chuùng noù taïi ñoù. Heã keû naøo ta phaùn vôùi ngöôi raèng: "Noù khaù ñi vôùi ngöôi," thì noù seõ ñi theo ngöôi; coøn keû naøo ta phaùn cuøng ngöôi raèng: "Noù chôù ñi vôùi ngöôi," thì keû ñoù khoâng ñi.

7:5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him shall you set by himself; likewise every one that bows down upon his knees to drink.

7:5 Vaäy, ngöôøi bieåu daân söï xuoáng meù nöôùc; roài Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Phaøm keû naøo duøng löôõi lieám nöôùc nhö choù, vaø keû naøo quì goái cuùi xuoáng maø uoáng, thì ngöôi phaûi ñeå rieâng ra.

7:6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

7:6 Soá ngöôøi buïm nöôùc trong tay roài keâ mieäng lieám laø ba traêm, coøn laïi bao nhieâu ñeàu quì goái cuùi xuoáng maø uoáng.

7:7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into yours hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

7:7 Baáy giôø, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va beøn phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Ta seõ duøng ba traêm ngöôøi ñaõ lieám nöôùc ñoù maø giaûi cöùu caùc ngöôi, vaø ta seõ phoù daân Ma-ñi-an vaøo tay ngöôi. Coøn daân söï khaùc, ai naáy ñeàu phaûi trôû veà nhaø mình!

7:8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

7:8 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân cho caû ngöôøi Y-sô-ra-eân, ai trôû veà traïi naáy, nhöng giöõ laïi ba traêm ngöôøi kia; chuùng laáy löông thöïc vaø caây keøn trong tay. Vaû, dinh Ma-ñi-an ôû thaân döôùi ngöôøi, taïi trong truõng.

7:9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get you down unto the host; for I have delivered it into yours hand.

7:9 Xaûy trong ñeâm ñoù, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va phaùn cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Haõy choåi daäy, ñi xuoáng haõm dinh Ma-ñi-an, vì ta ñaõ phoù noù vaøo tay ngöôi.

7:10 But if you fear to go down, go you with Phurah your servant down to the host:

7:10 Coøn neáu ngöôi sôï haõm noù, thì haõy ñi xuoáng ñoù vôùi Phu-ra, ñaày tôù ngöôi.

7:11 And you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall yours hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.

7:11 Ngöôøi seõ nghe ñieàu chuùng noù noùi, roài ngöôi seõ caûm bieát raèng mình coù söùc maïnh maø haõm dinh chuùng noù. Vaäy, Gheâ-ñeâ-oân ñi xuoáng cuøng Phu-ra, ñaày tôù mình, ñeán gaàn nôi lính canh ôû ñaàu dinh.

7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

7:12 Vaû, daân Ma-ñi-an, daân A-ma-leùc, vaø heát thaûy ngöôøi phöông Ñoâng buûa ra trong truõng ñoâng nhö caøo caøo, coøn laïc ñaø cuûa chuùng noù thì ñoâng voâ soá, khaùc naøo caùt nôi bôø bieån.

7:13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and stroke it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.

7:13 Trong luùc Gheâ-ñeâ-oân ñeán, coù moät ngöôøi thuaät ñieàm chieâm bao cho baïn mình nghe, raèng: Naày, toâi coù moät ñieàm chieâm bao, thaáy moät caùi baùnh nhoû baúng boät luùa maïch laên vaøo traïi quaân Ma-ñi-an: noù laên ñeán moät traïi, ñuïng laøm cho traïi ngaõ, laät ngöôïc treân loän döôùi, neân traïi bò ñaùnh ñoå.

7:14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host.

7:14 Boïn ngöôøi ñaùp raèng: Ñoù naøo khaùc hôn laø göôm cuûa Gheâ-ñeâ-oân, con trai Gioâ-aùch, ngöôøi Y-sô-ra-eân. Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi ñaõ phoù Ma-ñi-an vaø caû traïi quaân vaøo tay ngöôøi.

7:15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

7:15 Khi Gheâ-ñeâ-oân nghe lôøi thuaät ñieàm chieâm bao naày vaø söï baøn ñieàm ñoù, thì thôø laïy Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi; roài trôû veà traïi quaân Y-sô-ra-eân, maø raèng: Haõy choåi daäy, vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phoù traïi quaân Ma-ñi-an vaøo tay caùc ngöôi!

7:16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.

7:16 Ñoaïn, ngöôøi chia ba traêm ngöôøi laøm ba ñoäi, phaùt cho moãi teân nhöõng keøn, bình khoâng, vaø ñuoác ôû trong bình,

7:17 And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall all of you do.

7:17 maø daën raèng: Haõy ngoù ta, vaø laøm y nhö ta laøm; khi ta ñeán ñaàu traïi quaân, caùc ngöôi seõ laøm theo ñieàu ta laøm.

7:18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow all of you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

7:18 Khi ta vaø nhöõng keû theo ta thoåi keøn, thì caùc ngöôi cuõng seõ thoåi keøn ôû khaép xung quanh traïi quaân, vaø reo leân raèng: Vì Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va vaø vì Gheâ-ñeâ-oân!

7:19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.

7:19 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân vaø moät traêm quaân theo ngöôøi ñi ñeán ñaàu traïi quaân vaøo luùc canh ba, hoài môùi giao canh. Chuùng thoåi keøn, vaø ñaäp beå bình caàm nôi tay.

7:20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow likewise: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

7:20 Baáy giôø, ba ñoäi quaân thoåi keøn, vaø ñaäp beå bình, tay taû caàm ñuoác, tay höõu naém keøn ñaëng thoåi; ñoaïn caát tieáng reo leân raèng: Göôm cuûa Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va vaø cuûa Gheâ-ñeâ-oân!

7:21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.

7:21 Chuùng ñöùng vaây quanh traïi quaân, ai cöù choã naáy; caû traïi quaân beøn vôõ chaïy, caát tieáng la vaø troán ñi.

7:22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.

7:22 Ba traêm ngöôøi cöù thoåi keøn, vaø khaép traïi quaân, Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va khieán trôû göôm cuûa moãi ngöôøi cheùm laãn baïn mình. Ñaïo-binh chaïy troán ñeán Beát-si-ta, veà höôùng Xeâ-reâ-ra, cho ñeán bôø coõi A-beân-Meâ-hoâ-la gaàn Ta-baùt.

7:23 And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.

7:24 And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.

7:24 Baáy giôø, Gheâ-ñeâ-oân sai söù vaøo khaép nuùi Eùp-ra-im ñaëng noùi raèng: Haõy xuoáng ñoùn daân Ma-ñi-an, chaän ñöôøng chuùng noù qua soâng, cho ñeán Beát-Ba-ra vaø caùc choã caïn cuûa Gioâ-ñanh. 7:25 And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.

 Quan xet - Judges

8:1 And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why have you served us thus, that you called us not, when you went to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.

8:1 Ngöôøi Eùp-ra-im beøn noùi cuøng Gheâ-ñeâ-oân raèng: Vì sao oâng ñaõ ñaõi chuùng toâi nhö vaäy? Khi oâng ñi giao chieán cuøng daân Ma-ñi-an, sao khoâng goïi chuùng toâi ñi vôùi? Chuùng caõi cuøng ngöôøi caùch döõ doäi.

8:2 And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?

8:2 Nhöng ngöôøi ñaùp cuøng chuùng raèng: Saùnh vôùi anh em, toâi haù coù laøm ñöôïc ñieàu chi? Söï moùt nho cuûa Eùp-ra-im haù chaúng hôn muøa gaët nho cuûa A-bi-eâ-xe sao?

8:5 Ngöôøi beøn noùi cuøng daân Su-coát raèng: Ta xin caùc ngöôi haõy caáp moät vaøi oå baùnh cho daân theo ta, vì chuùng meät nhoïc; ta ñöông ñuoåi theo Xeâ-baùch vaø Xanh-mu-na, hai vua Ma-ñi-an.

8:6 Nhöng caùc quan tröôûng Su-coát ñaùp raèng: Chôù thì oâng ñaõ caàm nôi tay mình cöôøm tay cuûa Xeâ-baùch vaø Xanh-mu-na chöa, neân chuùng toâi phaûi caáp baùnh cho ñaïo binh oâng?

8:7 Gheâ-ñeâ-oân la leân raèng: Theá thì, khi Ñöùc Gieâ-hoâ-va ñaõ phoù Xeâ-baùch vaø Xanh-mu-na vaøo tay ta, ta seõ laáy choâng ñoàng vaéng vaø nhaùnh gai maø ñaùnh thòt caùc ngöôi!

8:18 Ñoaïn, ngöôøi noùi cuøng Xeâ-baùch vaø Xanh-mu-na raèng: Caùc ngöôøi kia maø hai ngöôi ñaõ gieát taïi Tha-boâ laø laøm sao? Hai vua ñaùp: Chuùng noù cuõng nhö ngöôi; moãi ngöôøi ñeàu coù hình voùc nhö moät hoaøng töû.

8:21 Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise you, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks.

9:1 And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,

9:48 A-bi-meâ-leùc beøn ñi leân nuùi Sanh-moân vôùi caû ñaïo binh theo mình. Ngöôøi caàm laáy nôi tay moät caùi rìu chaët moät nhaùnh caây, ñôõ noù leân vaø vaùc treân vai; roài noùi cuøng quaân theo mình raèng: Caùc ngöôi coù thaáy ñieàu ta laøm chaêng? Haõy mau mau laøm nhö ta.

9:49 And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the hold, and set the hold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women.

9:49 Vaäy, moãi ngöôøi chaët moät nhaùnh caây, roài ñi theo A-bi-meâ-leùc. Hoï döïng saép nhaùnh caây ñoù nôi ñoàn, chaâm löûa vaøo, vaø thieâu ñoàn cuøng nhöõng ngöôøi ôû trong. Nhö vaäy heát thaûy nhöõng ngöôøi ôû thaùp Si-chem, nam vaø nöõ, ñeàu cheát, soá öôùc moät ngaøn.

9:50 A-bi-meâ-leùc lieàn ñi ñaùnh Theâ-beát, vaây vaø chieám laáy noù.

9:51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and got them up to the top of the tower.

9:51 Giöõa thaønh phoá coù moät caùi thaùp vöõng beàn, heát thaûy daân söï cuûa thaønh, nam vaø nöõ, ñeàu chaïy voâ nuùp taïi ñoù, vaø ñoùng cöûa laïi, roài leân treân ñænh thaùp.

9:52 And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

9:54 Ngöôøi beøn keâu gaõ trai treû caàm binh khí haàu mình, maø noùi raèng: Haõy ruùt göôm ngöôi ra gieát ta ñi, keûo ngöôøi ta noùi: moät ngöôøi ñôøn baø ñaõ gieát ngöôøi! Vaäy, gaõ trai treû beøn ñaâm ngöôøi, thì ngöôøi cheát.
